• 2:44
Speaker 3: It's Amanda Baron from WWKTV thirteen.
• 2:48
Speaker 4: How are you happy?
• 2:49
Speaker 5: Friday? Good morning, Good Friday. What a week it was spring,
• 2:51
Speaker 5: it was summer, it was winter. Yesterday morning it was
• 2:55
Speaker 5: snowing in my front yard and not snowing in my
• 2:57
Speaker 5: backyard that I realized it just wasn't sticking.
• 3:00
  Speaker 3: I saw a meme the other day, and I don't
• 3:01
Speaker 3: think i've posted it yet that said something to the
• 3:03
Speaker 3: effect of winter's kind of like this, you know, I'm
• 3:07
Speaker 3: done with you, but then runs out of the room
• 3:09
Speaker 3: and comes back and says, but another thing.
• 3:12
  Speaker 4: That's me.
• 3:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, but next week, I mean, your buddy Brian Hughes
• 3:17
Speaker 3: and Spencer they tell me, and Chris they tell me
• 3:18
Speaker 3: it's gonna be like seventy eight, that near eighty, like Wednesday.
• 3:21
Speaker 5: I think it was Wednesday. Yeah, I said seventy six
• 3:23
Speaker 5: last night. So it's a crazy, crazy forecast. I think
• 3:27
Speaker 5: the snow and cold is good for the ski resorts.
• 3:29
Speaker 5: I have some friends that are up doing some adaptive
• 3:31
Speaker 5: skiing with veterans this weekend, and they said, it is
• 3:36
Speaker 5: the wind is blowing sideways up there, so it's awesome.
• 3:38
Speaker 5: I'm glad, and I hope all those veterans have a
• 3:40
Speaker 5: fantastic time. They do really cool adaptive skiing and outdoor
• 3:45
Speaker 5: sports recreation at Snowshoe, so it's always fun to see
• 3:48
  Speaker 5: those different opportunities.
• 3:49
Speaker 3: Indeed, it is Amanda Baron is with us today. I
• 3:51

Speaker 3: Let's go to the phones. Let's tauch you our good friend,
• 4:06
Speaker 3: Angie Gillenwater from the Kennal Charleston. You've made association with
• 4:09
Speaker 3: this week's Adopt Me Please pet of the Week.
• 4:11
Speaker 4: Angie, Good morning, Good morning, and.
• 4:15
Speaker 3: You're also on with Amanda Baron.
• 4:16
  Speaker 4: Listen.
• 4:16
Speaker 5: The name Crescent Roll is just kind of like a
• 4:19
Speaker 5: dream come true. And he's precious, isn't he.
• 4:22
Speaker 6: Uh he looks just like a cressl roll. That was
• 4:25
Speaker 6: the first thing that came to them on Oddly.
• 4:27
Speaker 3: Enough, they said the same thing about me.
• 4:28
Speaker 5: But go ahead, thats very doe boy WHOA Yeah, she
• 4:33
  Speaker 5: went there.
• 4:34
Speaker 4: It just was too easy. Andie, what kind of dog
• 4:36
  Speaker 4: is Crescent Roll?
• 4:38
  Speaker 7: Uh?
• 4:38
Speaker 6: So we're not one hundred percent sure on breed. We're
• 4:40
Speaker 6: just gonna say a large mixed breed because we don't
• 4:42
Speaker 6: have a single paper stating what he is. But large
• 4:46
Speaker 6: mixed breed, one hundred percent handsome, one hundred percent sweet.
• 4:51
Speaker 6: He is such a dapper young little man. What he
• 4:53
Speaker 6: does when you pass his kennell He'll sit there, laying
• 4:56
Speaker 6: down with his paws crossed and just kind of head
• 4:58
Speaker 6: tilted at you. So very hand Pepper.
• 5:02
  Speaker 4: I'm sure.
• 5:02
Speaker 5: I just when you told us that description last night
• 5:05
Speaker 5: about how he sits there with his hands folded. He's
• 5:06
Speaker 5: just a proper gentleman. I thought, what an awesome pet
• 5:10
Speaker 5: for somebody to have. What kind of family do you
• 5:11
Speaker 5: think he would be good with?
• 5:14
Speaker 6: So he gets along well with other dogs. He goes
• 5:16
Speaker 6: to playgroups at the shelter and has a great time
• 5:18
Speaker 6: with the dogs in there. So other dogs kids are great.
• 5:22
Speaker 6: We're not one hundred percent sure about cats, but he
• 5:24
Speaker 6: does have a pretty low prey drive, pretty easy going,
• 5:28
Speaker 6: slow moving, so likely just about any household these days,
• 5:32
Speaker 6: but dogs, kids, all that would be great for him.
• 5:35
Speaker 5: We're talking with Antie Gillenwater from the CANA Charleston Humane Association. Angie,
• 5:39
Speaker 5: he's about two years old, you say, about forty eight pounds.
• 5:43
Speaker 5: How is he doing healthwise?
• 5:45
Speaker 6: So he when he first came in you can look
• 5:48
Speaker 6: at his intake picture on our website. He was literally pink,
• 5:53
Speaker 6: so all of our staff were like, oh my gosh,
• 5:55
Speaker 6: my favorite color of dog, pink. But he was very
• 5:59
Speaker 6: itchy miss here in a lot of spots. Our vet
• 6:01
Speaker 6: determined it was demodex mite, which is very treatable and
• 6:06
Speaker 6: not contagious to humans. And after a week of treatment,
• 6:09
Speaker 6: which he's well passed a week of treatment, it's not
• 6:11
Speaker 6: contagious to other dogs or pets either, So he's doing
• 6:15
Speaker 6: much better, less itchy, and we're starting to see less
• 6:18
Speaker 6: pink and more hair.
• 6:19
  Speaker 5: I know, he's like a really pretty like a tan
• 6:22
Speaker 5: or tope or something.
• 6:23
Speaker 3: West Virginia brown dog. That's what a lot of people
• 6:26
Speaker 3: West Virginia brown dogs. What else is going on at
• 6:29
Speaker 3: the shelter, Angie, so.
• 6:32
Speaker 6: We're looking for right now. We're still seeing some staff
• 6:35
Speaker 6: out with flu A. It's been very difficult for us,
• 6:40
Speaker 6: so we're trying to get some volunteers in right now.
• 6:42
Speaker 6: We don't have any adoption specials currently, however, Saint Patrick
• 6:46
Speaker 6: Stay is right around the corner, so I would assume
• 6:48
Speaker 6: you know you'll see one.
• 6:49
Speaker 3: Coming and what are you in need of up there?
• 6:51
Speaker 3: Because I know sometimes you run short on this or that,
• 6:54
Speaker 3: and there's always certain supplies you can always use. But
• 6:57
Speaker 3: if you had a wish list right now, what would
• 6:59
  Speaker 3: that be, Angie?
• 7:01
Speaker 6: So the most needed things right now? Pur in a
• 7:03
Speaker 6: puppy chow. We have over thirty puppies in the building
• 7:07
Speaker 6: in seventeen that are sick with parvos, So pur in
• 7:10
Speaker 6: a puppy chow is a desperate need right now. Paper towels, bleach,
• 7:15
Speaker 6: just about any cleaning supply you can think of, from
• 7:17
Speaker 6: you know, dishwashing liquid to gloves, all that stuff.
• 7:21
Speaker 3: And I understand that we talked about a little bit
• 7:23
Speaker 3: last week, and we'll get all the particulars and we'll
• 7:25
Speaker 3: talk about a whole lot more as we get closer.
• 7:27
Speaker 3: Tuxes and Tails is going to be coming up.
• 7:30
Speaker 6: Yes, correct, Tuxes and Tails is coming up. It is
• 7:33
Speaker 6: the same day as the Kentucky Derby and the theme
• 7:36
Speaker 6: is going to be down in Derby as well this year,
• 7:39
Speaker 6: So you know, get out your pastels, your florals and
• 7:41
Speaker 6: your giant hats for that event.
• 7:43
Speaker 5: There is nothing more fun than picking out a fascinating
• 7:47
Speaker 5: fascinator or big old hat to wear, isn't it.
• 7:51
Speaker 4: But don't you have fun doing that?
• 7:53
Speaker 6: Oh? Yeah? It's the one time of year that I
• 7:55
Speaker 6: have a perfect excuse to wear it too, without without
• 7:58
  Speaker 6: any judgment.
• 8:00
Speaker 5: Trying to normalize that, I think, because no, I agree,
• 8:03
Speaker 5: why not? And I also think it's such a fun fundraiser.
• 8:06
Speaker 5: But also with that derby connection, it's just enough of
• 8:10
Speaker 5: a sporting event for some people that, like you're it's
• 8:13
Speaker 5: just enough for the attention span, don't you think?
• 8:15
Speaker 6: Correct? Correct, There's lots of stuff to do with tuxes
• 8:18
Speaker 6: and tails, whether you're here for the derby or you're
• 8:20
Speaker 6: here to love over all of our puppies that we
• 8:22
Speaker 6: bring to the event. There's a little bit of something
• 8:24
  Speaker 6: for everyone involved.
• 8:26
Speaker 5: Absolutely bring out, bring out the horse lovers, and bring
• 8:28
Speaker 5: out the animal lovers in general.
• 8:29
Speaker 4: And you guys just do awesome work and we're appreciative
• 8:32
  Speaker 4: of that.
• 8:32
Speaker 3: And how are the numbers? How are the numbers looking
• 8:35
  Speaker 3: right now?
• 8:37
Speaker 6: So with Areca intake yesterday, if you didn't see, we
• 8:40
Speaker 6: took in close to non atten pugs and yesterday when
• 8:45
Speaker 6: I looked at the beginning of the day, it was
• 8:48
Speaker 6: about three hundred and nine animals, majority of those being
• 8:51
Speaker 6: puppies and kennel dogs. As always, we're super thankful that
• 8:55
Speaker 6: cats in our care get adopted very quickly and don't
• 8:57
Speaker 6: have to stay very long.
• 8:58
  Speaker 4: It's the shelter that's wonderful.
• 9:00
Speaker 5: It's so good that people are opening their homes and hearts,
• 9:02
Speaker 5: and you know, I think everybody has a story about
• 9:05
Speaker 5: like when they found an animal, and you always like, well,
• 9:07
Speaker 5: who do I call?
• 9:08
  Speaker 8: Well?
• 9:08
Speaker 5: A lot of times it's incoming upon all of us,
• 9:10
Speaker 5: you know, to take those animals in because you guys
• 9:12
Speaker 5: have such a load.
• 9:14
Speaker 6: Correct, correct, And we are super thankful for the people
• 9:17
Speaker 6: that do that, or can at least hold them until
• 9:19
Speaker 6: we create spaith. We have a lot of people that
• 9:22
Speaker 6: are willing to do that too, until we can find
• 9:24
Speaker 6: some room. They're going to keep them for us, which
• 9:26
Speaker 6: is we cannot be more grateful.
• 9:28
Speaker 3: All right, Angie, I know you're busy. We'll let you
• 9:30
Speaker 3: get back to work. We'll talk again next week. Thanks
• 9:32
Speaker 3: a lot, Thank you guys.
• 9:34
Speaker 6: Have a good one.
• 9:35
Speaker 4: Hope everyone feels better soon.
• 9:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, please, Angie Gillan wanted from the Canal Charleston Humaine
• 9:41
Speaker 3: Association with Crescent Role Amanda. This week's Adopt Me Please
• 9:45
Speaker 3: Pet of the Week. Is that a great looking dog or.
• 9:47
Speaker 4: What beautiful dog? It's a beautiful dog and a cute
• 9:50
  Speaker 4: name too.
• 9:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, Crescent Roll two years old, almost two years old,
• 9:54
Speaker 3: forty eight pounds, great with kids and other dogs. His
• 9:58
Speaker 3: adoption is sponsored, need that he is absolutely free. She
• 10:02
Speaker 3: talked about that skin condition. He did have a little
• 10:04
Speaker 3: bit of a skin condition. I'm not going to try
• 10:06
Speaker 3: to pronounce it, but he had a bit of a
• 10:07
Speaker 3: skin condition. But they treated him as sitting. They said
• 10:10
Speaker 3: he was pink when he came in. They were able
• 10:12
Speaker 3: to treat it. He's still being treated. The skin condition
• 10:15
Speaker 3: is not contagious to humans or to other dogs, and
• 10:19
Speaker 3: which is very important because he loves other dogs apparently.
• 10:23
Speaker 5: Yes, and he has a very sweet face, and he
• 10:25
Speaker 5: sits in his kennel with his paws crossed waiting for
• 10:28
Speaker 5: someone to come and love on him.
• 10:30
Speaker 4: For sure. Hey, I have an update for you on something, Okay,
• 10:32
Speaker 4: can I tell you about it real fu?
• 10:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, we can go ahead and let Angie go. I'm
• 10:36
Speaker 3: hearing dogs barking in the background, so just just say
• 10:40
Speaker 3: and you were done with you You can go now,
• 10:42
Speaker 3: thank you. We're still there. I'm sorry, all right, thank.
• 10:47
Speaker 4: You, have a great day.
• 10:48
  Speaker 3: All right.
• 10:49
Speaker 4: So when I was on the show, a couple of
• 10:50
Speaker 4: weeks ago and you were off.
• 10:52
Speaker 5: We did a story about the Appalachian Outlaw trails that
• 10:55
Speaker 5: are coming to eastern Connaught County, hundreds of miles of
• 10:59
Speaker 5: trails that will be there for off roading adventure. Last night,
• 11:01
Speaker 5: Knock Couny Commission gave them one hundred and fifty thousand
• 11:03
Speaker 5: dollars to continue that adventure.
• 11:05
Speaker 4: Okay, so we'll keep talking. We'll keep talking about that one.
• 11:07
Speaker 3: I think we still got Angie on the line, producer,
• 11:09
Speaker 3: could we there we go? Okay, Angie's back here washing
• 11:13
Speaker 3: dishes and doing everything that she's doing back there in
• 11:15
Speaker 3: the background. But that is great news for the economy here.
• 11:18
Speaker 3: And actually I have on the show the next Tuesday,
• 11:21
Speaker 3: I think it is. I've got Kennawk County Commission, President
• 11:24
Speaker 3: of Ben Selango on the show, and I'm sure he'll
• 11:26
Speaker 3: want to talk about that.
• 11:26
Speaker 4: Talk more about that.
• 11:27
Speaker 5: They also did some work when it comes to flood mitigation,
• 11:30
Speaker 5: and they're going to get people to clean out their callverts.
• 11:33
Speaker 5: So that's something that we all need to think about
• 11:34
Speaker 5: because it can help mitigate some of those flooding problems.
• 11:36
Speaker 5: It's not going to alleviate the flooding problem, but this
• 11:38
Speaker 5: will be a citation system where they can come and say, hey,
• 11:42
Speaker 5: you need to get on you need to get on that,
• 11:44
Speaker 5: you need to clean that debris out of your carvert.
• 11:46
  Speaker 4: And he said.
• 11:47
Speaker 5: Last night at Commission meeting, Commission President Selango, that even
• 11:49
Speaker 5: he was guilty of that.
• 11:50
Speaker 4: So he's glad to well.
• 11:52
Speaker 3: And that's so much of what we see in West Virginia.
• 11:55
Speaker 3: I mean, obviously this what happened of the last couple,
• 11:59
Speaker 3: you know, on the Valentine's weekend down in places like
• 12:01
Speaker 3: Mingo County and McDowell County's that's what you call an
• 12:04
Speaker 3: act of God. I mean, when you have that much rain.
• 12:06
Speaker 3: But however, a lot of these problems are furthered because
• 12:10
Speaker 3: of trash and because of things and so much like
• 12:14
Speaker 3: in the community that I am from, they talk about
• 12:17
Speaker 3: down in Logan County, it's not river flooding. I mean,
• 12:20
Speaker 3: the rd Bailey Dam pretty much took care of that,
• 12:22
Speaker 3: you know, the nineteen seventies. It's not that it's people
• 12:25
Speaker 3: putting their crap, you know, in the in the river
• 12:29
Speaker 3: and in the drains and so on.
• 12:31
Speaker 5: When you think about the leaves that fall and the
• 12:32
Speaker 5: tree branches that we take down or things like that,
• 12:35
Speaker 5: that ends up in the creeks and stream So this
• 12:37
Speaker 5: is a program that will allow them to go through
• 12:39
Speaker 5: and you know, give people heads up and the idea
• 12:42
Speaker 5: here is to be proactive and not reactive because oftentimes
• 12:44
Speaker 5: when that water goes down, we stop thinking about the flooding.
• 12:47
Speaker 4: So a couple of updates though.
• 12:49
Speaker 5: But the gentlemen, we're here from mapple Aachan outlaw Trails
• 12:51
Speaker 5: last week, so they're getting ready for a big event
• 12:54
Speaker 5: this weekend and Point Pleasant Mothman's Revenge.
• 12:57
  Speaker 3: Sweet.
• 12:57
Speaker 5: I know it's going to go from Point Pleasant to
• 12:59
Speaker 5: Senecara all so it's a big, big weekend for them
• 13:02
  Speaker 5: for sure.

  Speaker 8: Uh?
• 13:23
Speaker 3: That's and I think what they're text is referring to
• 13:25
Speaker 3: is sometimes they'll go out on location. They'll team up
• 13:27
Speaker 3: with the uh some of the pet stores in the area.
• 13:29
Speaker 3: They go to automobile dealership from time to time. I
• 13:32
Speaker 3: have seen some cats taken out there, but you know,
• 13:35
Speaker 3: I'm a cat owner. Cats don't travel as well take
• 13:39

• 13:45
Speaker 3: And I have no idea what a conniption fit is,
• 13:47
Speaker 3: but that's what my grandmother would say, you know, because
• 13:49
Speaker 3: they know my Our cats never leave the house, so

Speaker 5: Speaking of weddings, there's somebody in our presence right now
• 16:21
Speaker 5: who recently got married while the Dirty Birds were playing,
• 16:24
Speaker 5: like in the championships.
• 16:25
Speaker 4: Joe Garin is here. Thanks for being here, really, thanks
• 16:28
Speaker 4: for having me. It's nice to see you.
• 16:29
Speaker 5: Your wedding pictures are beautiful, by the way, Thank you.
• 16:31
Speaker 5: I was so wild I called her to do an
• 16:32
Speaker 5: interview about the Dirty Birds winning. You guys were having
• 16:35
Speaker 5: this killer season, and you're like, well, I'm actually getting
• 16:38
  Speaker 5: married tonight.
• 16:39
Speaker 8: No one has ever said that to me before. Yep,
• 16:42
Speaker 8: I was in I was literally in my wedding dress.
• 16:45
Speaker 8: I think everything was. We were getting ready to leave
• 16:46
Speaker 8: and I got a text saying, hey, can you do
• 16:48
Speaker 8: an interview? Normally yes, but I'm about to go get married.
• 16:52
  Speaker 4: I couldn't you know.
• 16:53
Speaker 5: I've had somebody answer a text for me or pick
• 16:56
Speaker 5: up the phone, like while their wife was giving birth.
• 16:58
Speaker 5: When I was calling about a story which I was
• 16:59
Speaker 5: very pre you should tip of that one. So I
• 17:01
Speaker 5: have a birth and a wedding now and I'm so honored.
• 17:04
Speaker 5: We're honored to have you here today. Dirty Birds had
• 17:06
Speaker 5: such an amazing season. Let's keep riding that wave. You
• 17:10
Speaker 5: guys are kicking off the season.
• 17:11
Speaker 8: Yes, we're so excited to keep it going from last year.
• 17:14
Speaker 8: You know, Southern Division champions of twenty twenty four and
• 17:18
Speaker 8: our single game tickets go on sale tomorrow. You can
• 17:21
Speaker 8: buy online or you can come to the ballpark starting
• 17:23
Speaker 8: at twelve o'clock. We are going to have a free
• 17:26
Speaker 8: event just to kind of kick off the season. There's
• 17:28
Speaker 8: free inflatables on the field as well. You can get
• 17:31
Speaker 8: forty percent off merchandise. We're going to have some concessions open.
• 17:35
Speaker 8: Dusty will be there and my husband, who will be
• 17:38
Speaker 8: playing for the Dirty Birds again this year, will be
• 17:39
Speaker 8: there for some autographs.
• 17:41
Speaker 5: You should have mentioned that your husband. We have to
• 17:43
Speaker 5: remember he's a part of this equation as well.
• 17:45
Speaker 4: That's exciting. You guys have to be so excited for
• 17:47
Speaker 4: this season, coming off such a great year last year.
• 17:49
Speaker 8: Definitely, and in PJ. Phillips's back, he was our manager
• 17:51
Speaker 8: last year. He's coming back and you know he's building
• 17:54
  Speaker 8: that team right now. We're we're excited. We've announced a
• 17:56
Speaker 8: few players already and hopefully more to come soon.
• 17:59
Speaker 5: The ballpark is such an amazing place to go, even
• 18:01
Speaker 5: if you're not totally into baseball, just to be in
• 18:04
Speaker 5: the summertime, in the springtime, a chance to get outside,
• 18:07
Speaker 5: see people that you haven't seen in a while. If
• 18:09
Speaker 5: somebody's never been, why would you encourage them to come
• 18:11
  Speaker 5: to a game.
• 18:12
Speaker 8: It's not just about baseball. It's really about community. And
• 18:15
Speaker 8: that's something that our owner, Andy Shay has really tried
• 18:17
Speaker 8: to emphasize since he's moved here to Charleston, where it's
• 18:21
Speaker 8: not just a baseball game. You can come here with
• 18:23
Speaker 8: your family, with your friends, with your co workers and
• 18:26
Speaker 8: just enjoy the company of each other.
• 18:28
Speaker 5: Absolutely. Okay, so this weekend is not just for like
• 18:31
Speaker 5: a baseball enthusiast. Also, there's a great reason to bring
• 18:35
Speaker 5: the kids. Yep, those free inflatables. Like I said, it's
• 18:38
Speaker 5: free jury. You can walk into the ballpark for free,
• 18:41
Speaker 5: go on those inflatables for free.
• 18:42
Speaker 8: Even if you don't want to come to a baseball game.
• 18:45
Speaker 8: You again, having kids is crazy. You don't know your
• 18:48
Speaker 8: schedule sometimes in May or June when it's March, right,
• 18:50
Speaker 8: So if you don't know what games you can go
• 18:52
Speaker 8: to yet, Just come and see what we have new
• 18:54
Speaker 8: at the stadium, not just inflatables. Also it's free mini
• 18:56
  Speaker 8: golf as well.
• 18:57
Speaker 5: I was just reading about that. That's really fun. What
• 18:59
Speaker 5: can you tell about the upcoming season? What can people
• 19:02
Speaker 5: look forward to or any new food items on the menu.
• 19:05
  Speaker 4: What's the deal?
• 19:06
Speaker 8: So our promo schedule was announced earlier this week. You
• 19:09
Speaker 8: can head over to Dirtybirds baseball dot com to see everything.
• 19:12
Speaker 8: Every Friday we will have a giveaway again. Every Saturday
• 19:15
Speaker 8: is going to be fireworks, so you can still look
• 19:16
Speaker 8: forward to that. One of my favorite giveaways is going
• 19:19
Speaker 8: to be on June twenty seventh. We're actually celebrating West Virginia.
• 19:22
  Speaker 8: It's a week after West Virginia's birthday, but we're making
• 19:24
Speaker 8: it a celebration that day and we're going to have
• 19:27
Speaker 8: a blanket that is West Virginia themed.
• 19:29
Speaker 4: Oh, I can't wait to see that.
• 19:30
Speaker 5: And you can never have enough blankets, one percent can
• 19:32
Speaker 5: never have enough blanket, And a blanket at the ballpark
• 19:34
Speaker 5: is always a good thing on the nights that it
• 19:36
  Speaker 5: gets chilly.
• 19:36
Speaker 4: But I can imagine a gin. We'll be okay, you
• 19:38
  Speaker 4: will so.
• 19:40
Speaker 3: This this thing tomorrow. Have you ever done this? I'd
• 19:42
Speaker 3: like to have a kickoff celebration like this when you
• 19:45
Speaker 3: have all these things that are free, and as this
• 19:47
Speaker 3: ever been done before.
• 19:48
Speaker 8: I don't think we have a Gomart ballpark this year. Again,
• 19:51
Speaker 8: this is only my second year, but off what I've heard,
• 19:53
  Speaker 8: I believe this is I don't remember. I think this
• 19:55
Speaker 8: is the first time. Again. Andy shea our owner and CEO.
• 19:57
Speaker 8: He's all about the community and just inviting people to
• 20:00
  Speaker 8: the ballpark.
• 20:01
  Speaker 4: It's free.
• 20:01
Speaker 8: Inflatables are free, mini golf is free. You can get
• 20:04
Speaker 8: some discounted food and discount and march as well.
• 20:06
Speaker 3: And it's a great opportunity. As Amanda said, and again
• 20:09
Speaker 3: we're talking with Joe Garren from the Dirty Birds, it's
• 20:11
Speaker 3: a great opportunity for those maybe who haven't been to
• 20:14
Speaker 3: the ballpark in the pass just to get out and
• 20:15
Speaker 3: walk around, because it truly is a great facility. I mean,
• 20:20
Speaker 3: whether you're a baseball and you've been around baseball in
• 20:23
Speaker 3: your entire life, Jill, you know that baseball is different
• 20:26
Speaker 3: than basketball or football or hockey and then the other sports.
• 20:29
Speaker 3: A lot of people go to baseball games that another
• 20:32
Speaker 3: players don't like to hear this, but sometimes really aren't
• 20:34
Speaker 3: as bought into it because of the atmosphere that goes
• 20:37
Speaker 3: around it with the promotions and things of that nature.
• 20:40
Speaker 8: Especially at minor league baseball. Let's say you've been to
• 20:42
Speaker 8: a Pirates game. This is nothing like a Pirates game
• 20:45
Speaker 8: where we're focusing on these big name players. We're focusing
• 20:48
Speaker 8: on you, the fans. There's going to be discounts, there's
• 20:50
Speaker 8: going to be fun games that your kids can be
• 20:52
Speaker 8: a part of. There's going to be interactive things on
• 20:55
Speaker 8: the video board, interactive things throughout the concourse. It's really
• 20:58
Speaker 8: about you as a fan, not so much much the
• 21:00
  Speaker 8: baseball team.
• 21:01
Speaker 5: And just it's a great excuse just to sit outside, Yeah,
• 21:04
Speaker 5: it really is and watch some enthusiastic people who are
• 21:08
Speaker 5: in the you know, exciting time in their baseball career.
• 21:12
Speaker 5: I think that's fun too, because I love to watch
• 21:15
Speaker 5: people come up through.
• 21:15
Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a lot of fun. So for example, my husband,
• 21:18
Speaker 8: he's he's twenty four, he's still trying to make it
• 21:21
Speaker 8: to a major league team, so he's early in his career.
• 21:23
Speaker 8: And then we have other guys like last year Kiva Sampson,
• 21:26
Speaker 8: who played in the major leagues, a few years ago
• 21:28
Speaker 8: and he's just still playing professional baseball. He'll probably go
• 21:30
Speaker 8: playing Mexico or maybe in Asia at some point too,
• 21:33
Speaker 8: Very very different areas of their career, but you get
• 21:36
Speaker 8: to see both of these people playing at the same time.
• 21:38
Speaker 3: Just can't get it out of their systems. Sometimes nothing
• 21:40
Speaker 3: wrong with that. And one of the things I like,
• 21:43
Speaker 3: again Jill, about minor league baseball kind of playing off
• 21:46
Speaker 3: what Amanda said there is the enthusiasm with the players
• 21:48
Speaker 3: is so much because I mean, like I am a
• 21:50
Speaker 3: huge baseball fan. I love pro sports, but sometimes in
• 21:53
Speaker 3: all sports we get this, Yeah, they're just kind of
• 21:55
Speaker 3: mailing it in at this point. You know, the guy's
• 21:57
Speaker 3: got the contry, he's got the you know, eighty million
• 21:59
Speaker 3: dollar a year contract. He may not try to run
• 22:02
Speaker 3: this one out, you know, he may. But these folks
• 22:04
Speaker 3: that are playing minor league baseball and on this level,
• 22:07
Speaker 3: I mean, as you said, it's the up and coming
• 22:09
Speaker 3: guys trying to make the team. Sometimes it's it's the
• 22:11
Speaker 3: guys just kind of stick around a little bit. They
• 22:14
Speaker 3: got a lot more to play for.
• 22:17
Speaker 8: In many many cases, definitely, and I think they're all athletes,
• 22:21
Speaker 8: they're competitive, they want to win, They do not care
• 22:24
Speaker 8: if it's their final game ever or their first game ever.
• 22:26
Speaker 8: They want to win so badly. There's so much emotion
• 22:30
Speaker 8: for these guys on the field, and I'm excited to
• 22:33
Speaker 8: see we have our fan favorite from Edison Surreyel. He's
• 22:36
Speaker 8: been here the last two years. He has signed a
• 22:38
Speaker 8: contract he's going to be back to so I'm excited
• 22:40
Speaker 8: to get things going.
• 22:41
Speaker 5: Do you see that the younger players and then the
• 22:43
Speaker 5: more the veteran players. Is it fun to see those
• 22:46
Speaker 5: relationships and see who they gravitate towards to maybe find
• 22:50
  Speaker 5: that mentorship.
• 22:51
Speaker 8: Definitely, I think you see a lot of it depends
• 22:53
Speaker 8: on their background. Whether we have Latin American players, they
• 22:56
Speaker 8: tend to gravitate towards each other, but as they're learning
• 22:58
Speaker 8: the English language, you can see them start to go
• 23:00
Speaker 8: to the veterans so they can learn from them as well.
• 23:02
Speaker 4: And you could even watch too.
• 23:03
Speaker 5: I mean just by watching, you know, you look can
• 23:05
Speaker 5: pick up so much from somebody who you admire in
• 23:08
Speaker 5: a particular field. So we love listening to you and
• 23:11
Speaker 5: you're so helpful. One of the only ladies to do this, Yes, in.
• 23:16
Speaker 8: The Atlantic League. I'm the only female I think in
• 23:19
Speaker 8: all of oh gosh, and all of minor league baseball.
• 23:21
Speaker 8: There's maybe five of us now, but it ranges every year, Yes,
• 23:25
Speaker 8: and it's it's great to hear a different perspective.
• 23:27
Speaker 4: And we're just really excited for the season to get underway.
• 23:30
Speaker 3: Especially with the winner that we've had. Everybody to the bar.
• 23:34
Speaker 8: I'm in dire need of desperate need of sunshine.
• 23:37
Speaker 3: We need a hot dog, we needed beers of peanutsjacks,
• 23:40
Speaker 3: and I don't care if we never go back and
• 23:42
Speaker 3: a seventh inning stretch. Yes, indeed, Joe Garreant from the
• 23:44
Speaker 3: Dirty Birds, I appreciate you being here. I know in
• 23:47
Speaker 3: addition to you this being your job, you're also a
• 23:50
Speaker 3: huge baseball fan. How is you're a Red.
• 23:53
  Speaker 4: Red Sox fan?
• 23:54
  Speaker 8: Yeah?
• 23:55
Speaker 3: All right, So how the Red Sox is going to
• 23:56
  Speaker 3: do this season?
• 23:57
Speaker 8: I saw MLB graded their off season as an a
• 23:59
Speaker 8: min Yes, I think, so we'll see how that that is.
• 24:02
Speaker 8: I know I have a friend who works in their
• 24:04
Speaker 8: Double A team and their minor league system, and they
• 24:07
Speaker 8: have some great prospects coming in, so I'm excited to see.
• 24:09
Speaker 8: Plus Alex Bregman is with the Red Sox, so that's
• 24:11
Speaker 8: got to be fun.
• 24:12
Speaker 3: Well and the Reds may very well have the league
• 24:15
Speaker 3: MVP this year. I'm calling it Ellie Da La Cruise,
• 24:17
Speaker 3: and may still finish in last place. So I'm hoping
• 24:21
  Speaker 3: that doesn't happen.
• 24:22
Speaker 4: I'm a manager, I should say, and Terry.
• 24:25
Speaker 3: Frank count I'm very happy.
• 24:26
Speaker 4: I'm very happy about That's a Guardians fan.
• 24:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to say, I was going to
• 24:30
Speaker 3: give you your objection fore too. Talk about the Cleveland
• 24:33
Speaker 3: thing this season. You're excited too, right, always excited Hope Springs,
• 24:37
Speaker 3: Hope Springs eternal in Cleveland, Joe Garrett, I appreciate you
• 24:41
Speaker 3: being here. Let's kind of recap again. What's going on
• 24:42
Speaker 3: tomorrow at the ballpark?
• 24:44
Speaker 8: YEP, Tomorrow twelve o'clock at gates open. You can come
• 24:46
Speaker 8: by single game tickets in person or online. But the
• 24:49
Speaker 8: free event is from twelve to six. We will have giveaways,
• 24:52
Speaker 8: free inflatables, free mini golf, discount and merch and discounted food.
• 24:56
Speaker 3: And again it's all free except or if you want
• 24:58
Speaker 3: the food, it's discounted in the merchan's discount. But if
• 25:01
Speaker 3: you just want to bring the kids out and you
• 25:02
Speaker 3: want to walk around the ballpark and you want to
• 25:04
Speaker 3: get on the inflatables. All that's absolutely free charge. Why
• 25:08
Speaker 3: all right, Jill, appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot,

• 29:40
Speaker 9: Yeah, basically we're crazy, but we we bought the Roughner
• 29:46
Speaker 9: what is now known as the Roughner. It's really a
• 29:49
Speaker 9: gem of a historic home on the east end of
• 29:51
Speaker 9: Charleston fifteen hundred cano Bulevard East, and have turned it
• 29:55
Speaker 9: into something that we felt like Charleston really just needed
• 29:59
Speaker 9: and wanted. So it is a historic venue, but it
• 30:02
Speaker 9: also has bespoke lodging opportunities to we host a variety
• 30:07
  Speaker 9: of events.
• 30:09
Speaker 4: I know you just had one for Valentine's Day? Right,
• 30:11
Speaker 4: How did they get to Valentine's party? It was a blast.
• 30:13
Speaker 5: It was a blast, a beautiful play. It's a beautiful location.
• 30:18
Speaker 5: It's located on the Cannon Boulevard, as you just mentioned,
• 30:20
Speaker 5: and the homes along Cannon Boulevard are absolutely stunning. You
• 30:24
Speaker 5: guys have been able to go into this home and
• 30:26
Speaker 5: make it something even more special. Talk about what people
• 30:30
Speaker 5: can find if they decide to maybe have a wedding there,
• 30:32
Speaker 5: or if they decide to, you know, stay there for

• 32:11
Speaker 4: Can you guys give us a little history about this home. Sure,
• 32:14
Speaker 4: so your eyes just lit up.
• 32:16
Speaker 9: Oh gosh, I know we'll wear history nerds, and how
• 32:18
Speaker 9: can you not be with such a beautif.
• 32:22
Speaker 4: I'll keep it brief. I'll keep it brief.
• 32:24
Speaker 9: We're actually the fourth owners of the property. The home
• 32:27
Speaker 9: was originally commissioned by Judge Walter Hall and oh no,
• 32:33
Speaker 9: I'm sorry, Cyrus Hall and his wife.
• 32:37
Speaker 3: Myrtle you want to say, and his wife Walter.
• 32:42
Speaker 4: No, the architect was Walter Martin's.
• 32:45
Speaker 9: So he's the same architect that designed the Women's Club,
• 32:47
Speaker 9: the Governor's Mansion, and a couple other notable structures, not
• 32:50
Speaker 9: just in Charleston, but in the state of West Virginia.
• 32:53
Speaker 9: It's a Georgian Colonial style home. And after the the
• 33:00
Speaker 9: Halls left the home, it was the Dean Lewis Law
• 33:04
Speaker 9: firm for a while. A lot of folks know the property.
• 33:08
Speaker 5: From being in it when the law firm was in it,
• 33:11
Speaker 5: and then the Frame family owned it and now us,
• 33:13
Speaker 5: So we're just the fourth owners of this really beautiful property.
• 33:16
Speaker 5: I think we see those homes along the boulevard, You're like, gosh,
• 33:18
Speaker 5: I'd really love to go in there and just see.
• 33:20
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what it looks like.
• 33:21
Speaker 9: And this is a great opportunity to do it on Sunday,
• 33:23
Speaker 9: to come and get nosy and see all the things
• 33:26
Speaker 9: that we can do for.
• 33:26
Speaker 5: You between between one and four at the rough Dord.
• 33:29
Speaker 5: It's fifteen hundred block of Cannon Boulevard. Yes, right on
• 33:32
Speaker 5: the corner of Cannon Bulevard East. I should say I
• 33:36
Speaker 5: know somebody who has some of the pieces that you
• 33:38
Speaker 5: guys have acquired to put into the home, and I
• 33:42
Speaker 5: think it's been really neat for people to see that
• 33:44
Speaker 5: you guys have worked hard to make it historical in
• 33:49
Speaker 5: more ways than just the actual structure.
• 33:52
Speaker 9: We've had a lot of fun sourcing the furniture and art,
• 33:55
Speaker 9: not just from other historic homes in Charleston, but at
• 33:59
Speaker 9: other estate sales and vinedge shops because we wanted to
• 34:03
Speaker 9: get a little funky with it but still pay homage
• 34:05
Speaker 9: to the historic integrity of the house and of the region.
• 34:09
Speaker 5: Yeah, what can people do if they stay there for
• 34:12
Speaker 5: the night? What kinds of things there's I think there
• 34:13
Speaker 5: was like a card room or something like that I
• 34:15
Speaker 5: remember seeing. I know tell us a little bit about that.
• 34:18
Speaker 13: We have a hidden room on the third floor which
• 34:20
Speaker 13: is now a game room. So if you're having family
• 34:23
  Speaker 13: or a girls night or a guys night, it's a
• 34:25
Speaker 13: fun place to hang out.
• 34:26
Speaker 5: Absolutely, and it's just a cool place. You had the
• 34:30
Speaker 5: Gallatines event. Are you looking forward to more?
• 34:33
Speaker 9: Oh my gosh, yeah, we Nicky and I are really
• 34:36
Speaker 9: excited to create events that people can come and enjoy themselves,
• 34:41
Speaker 9: not just as renters, but as guests. Things like big
• 34:45
Speaker 9: easter brunches, murder mystery dinners, all kinds of fun things.
• 34:49
Speaker 4: I bet you guys.
• 34:51
Speaker 5: Are you probably are every day like texting each other like,
• 34:53
Speaker 5: oh there, here's another here's another idea, here's another idea.
• 34:56
Speaker 3: And this is something that's very popular. It's I mean,
• 34:59
Speaker 3: it's gotten very popular across the country. And I'm sure
• 35:01
Speaker 3: that you have drawn ideas from other other folks that
• 35:04
Speaker 3: are doing similar things. And one of the great things
• 35:06
Speaker 3: about this is is you know here in Charleston, it's
• 35:09
Speaker 3: it's the building that has that history. But these things
• 35:13
Speaker 3: that that you're doing you don't normally see in a
• 35:15
Speaker 3: town or city the size of Charles. Do you see
• 35:16
Speaker 3: them into much larger cities and you're you're doing it
• 35:18
  Speaker 3: right here?
• 35:19
Speaker 4: Oh thank you? That was That's why we're doing it Charleston.
• 35:23
Speaker 13: We want to make it better.
• 35:24
Speaker 5: Well, Nicky and Maria with the Roughner House, the expo
• 35:27
Speaker 5: is this weekend. Is there any charge to come to that?

Speaker 3: I will entertain your phone calls or text or whatever
• 40:40
Speaker 3: it is you want to talk about. I kind of
• 40:42
Speaker 3: tease a little bit about something on social media, saying
• 40:45
Speaker 3: that there would be an announcement coming up today, but
• 40:48
Speaker 3: it on the Twitter machine and also on the on
• 40:50
Speaker 3: the spacebook, as my buddy Tommy would say. And so
• 40:54
Speaker 3: we're gonna there is going to be an announcement made
• 40:56
Speaker 3: about programming coming up at ten fifteen, ten to one
• 41:00
Speaker 3: or so. I'm not just sticking around for that, I think,
• 41:03
Speaker 3: And a man, if you're available, I'd like for you
• 41:05
Speaker 3: to stick around for that as well.
• 41:06
Speaker 4: Thank you, Dave. I appreciate that.
• 41:07
Speaker 3: I think that'll be kind of kind of cool. I
• 41:09
Speaker 3: hope that folks like what the announcement is.
• 41:11
Speaker 4: It's kinds of exciting thing.
• 41:12
Speaker 3: A lot of exciting things going on with in here.
• 41:14
Speaker 4: Want to hear something else exciting?
• 41:15
  Speaker 3: What's that?
• 41:16
Speaker 5: I want to talk about some news today Newer for
• 41:18
Speaker 5: Gorge saw record attendance in twenty twenty four. That's pretty
• 41:22
Speaker 5: cool when you think about all the people that are
• 41:23
Speaker 5: coming through the region and we talk about this Upper
• 41:25
Speaker 5: Canall Valley Gateway project that they're doing that they want
• 41:28
Speaker 5: to create an atmosphere that's really welcoming as.
• 41:31
Speaker 4: People head to the New River Gorge.
• 41:34
Speaker 5: So it's you know, there were some things that came
• 41:37
Speaker 5: out of COVID that were really tough, but the park
• 41:38
Speaker 5: services that they saw spike in attendance during the pandemic.
• 41:41
Speaker 5: That's when people got outside started to enjoy. So we're
• 41:44
Speaker 5: learning more about that today.
• 41:47
Speaker 3: That a text here says, day congratulations on your retirement.
• 41:51
Speaker 3: I'm not retiring. Trust me, I'm going to die behind
• 41:54
Speaker 3: this micro and I frequently die behind the microphone every
• 41:56
Speaker 3: day anyway. No, I'm not retiring. I promise you that
• 42:00
Speaker 3: I am going. I plan on being carried out of here.
• 42:02
Speaker 3: That's uh. I have not. My retirement plan is to
• 42:05
Speaker 3: is to die in the microphone with headphones on. I
• 42:08
Speaker 3: told and little else. I told somebody the other day.
• 42:12
Speaker 3: I told Lee upstairs that I was going to have
• 42:14
Speaker 3: a on air light on my casket and uh and
• 42:17
Speaker 3: when the service is over, click just do it that way.
• 42:21
  Speaker 14: It goes.
• 42:23
Speaker 3: Next is the day. The day is seventh. Next next
• 42:27
Speaker 3: Thursday will be my thirty seventh year of this. Thirty
• 42:32
  Speaker 3: seven years.
• 42:32
Speaker 4: Probably doesn't feel that long, does it.
• 42:34
Speaker 3: Thirty seven years of I started playing forty five records
• 42:38
  Speaker 3: on w l o G radio and Logan, which no
• 42:41
Speaker 3: longer exists. So thirty thirty seven years a long time.
• 42:43
Speaker 3: But now I have no I have zero plans to
• 42:45
  Speaker 3: ever retire.
• 42:46
  Speaker 4: And I think it's so cool. You've seen a lot
• 42:47
Speaker 4: change too. Yes, you know why.
• 42:52
Speaker 5: We all have day in a business that is up
• 42:56
Speaker 5: is forever changing. You have been a constant, so that's fun.
• 43:00
Speaker 3: It sounds like you're writing my retirement speech already. I
• 43:03
  Speaker 3: am not retiring.
• 43:04
Speaker 4: You can hire me.
• 43:04
  Speaker 17: I am not.
• 43:06
Speaker 3: I am not retiring at all. So the time change,
• 43:10
Speaker 3: let me ask you your opinion. We do the whole
• 43:12
Speaker 3: Spring four thing. And by the way, somebody would like
• 43:16
Speaker 3: to text us with their thoughts on the time change.
• 43:19
Speaker 3: I kind of like to keep it a little lighter
• 43:20
Speaker 3: on Fridays if I can. You want to text us
• 43:23
Speaker 3: or call us on what you think about the time change?
• 43:25
Speaker 3: Bigicley pigli Wiggly Hotline three zero four three four five
• 43:28

• 43:30
Speaker 3: Tony the Taylor three zero four nine three five five
• 43:32
Speaker 3: zero zero eight. You're taught. Your take on the whole
• 43:35
  Speaker 3: time change thing.
• 43:36
Speaker 5: I think it's great because we all need a little
• 43:38
Speaker 5: more sunlight, We all need a little more time to
• 43:40
Speaker 5: get outside and enjoy, and I think this provides that opportunity.
• 43:43
Speaker 5: It also means that warmer weather is around the corner,
• 43:45
Speaker 5: which I think is a good a good mental shift
• 43:47
Speaker 5: for a lot of people. Now, if you're somebody who
• 43:49
Speaker 5: has to go to bed early because you have to
• 43:52
Speaker 5: wake up super early, this is not the time of
• 43:54
  Speaker 5: year for you.
• 43:55
Speaker 14: That very to me.
• 43:57
Speaker 17: For you know, I did morning radio for twenty years
• 44:00
Speaker 17: in Logan, and then I did it for about a
• 44:02
Speaker 17: year at at a at another station here in the market.
• 44:07
Speaker 17: And I got up at three am usually every morning,
• 44:11
Speaker 17: and so it didn't matter to me. And I was
• 44:14
Speaker 17: talking to my wife about this last night. I said,
• 44:16
Speaker 17: it didn't matter to me one way or the other
• 44:18
Speaker 17: because I got up at three am and I was
• 44:22
Speaker 17: usually asleep before it was dark. So you know, it didn't,
• 44:26
  Speaker 17: it just didn't.
• 44:26
Speaker 3: It didn't. And even now, but I don't do morning
• 44:29
Speaker 3: radio anymore. I'm still a morning person. I'm still up
• 44:31
Speaker 3: by five, you know, every morning. Anyway, for people.
• 44:34
Speaker 4: Who do that over night work, it can be really
• 44:36
  Speaker 4: I guess.
• 44:37
Speaker 3: Because for me, I just don't care one way or
• 44:40
Speaker 3: the other. And I was watching a big debate about
• 44:42
Speaker 3: it on television this morning and people were going back
• 44:45
  Speaker 3: and forth. It's like, I just I just don't care,
• 44:47
Speaker 3: you know. I just roll with it.
• 44:48
  Speaker 2: Man.
• 44:49
Speaker 5: I enjoy the time change, like I enjoy the change
• 44:52
Speaker 5: of seasons. I think it's been really cool. We've had
• 44:53
Speaker 5: four seasons this year. We did not have that in
• 44:56
Speaker 5: the year's past. So I have enjoyed the snow. I
• 44:59
Speaker 5: am not the one doing the room, so that probably
• 45:01
Speaker 5: is part of that. But I think when you are
• 45:04
Speaker 5: when you can kind of just enjoy different, different seasons,
• 45:07
Speaker 5: different phases, just just.
• 45:09
Speaker 4: Makes life a little more interesting. It does, indeed it does.
• 45:11
Speaker 3: The Dave Island Showing five any Live brought to you

• 45:24
Speaker 3: and Milton, Texas. Time to transition to your Johnny Carson
• 45:29
Speaker 3: era and let Amanda be the guest host once a week.
• 45:33
Speaker 3: She does great work filling in for you. I think
• 45:36
Speaker 3: it's very interesting that we use the term filling in
• 45:39
Speaker 3: for me when you talk about somebody who's won like Emmys,
• 45:42
Speaker 3: and you've won all these Oh, you should have Heisman trophies.
• 45:47
Speaker 4: You know, it's my Heisman trophy. I'm most proud of Tony.
• 45:50
Speaker 3: Awards and things of that nature. That the idea of
• 45:53
Speaker 3: you filling in for me, I just think that's that's
• 45:55
Speaker 3: kind of funny because even though I've been doing this
• 45:58
Speaker 3: a lot longer than you have your life more awarded
• 46:00
Speaker 3: than what I am.
• 46:01
Speaker 5: Well, you know, the awards are nice, but the work
• 46:03
Speaker 5: is the fun part, and it's fun to get to
• 46:05
Speaker 5: share people's stories and you know, kind of makes sense
• 46:08
Speaker 5: of news in a crazy world.
• 46:09
Speaker 4: That's you know, our job to boil it down, boil it.
• 46:12
Speaker 5: Down to a couple of sentences that make people's lives better,
• 46:17
Speaker 5: more informed, easier, safer, all those different things.
• 46:21
  Speaker 4: So it's neat. It's a it's an honor and a privilege,
• 46:24
Speaker 4: no doubt about it, you.
• 46:25
Speaker 3: Know, and something that has always interested me, and I
• 46:27
Speaker 3: see these memes floating around social media from time to
• 46:30
Speaker 3: time where people will say something to the effect of
• 46:32
Speaker 3: why does the news and I say, television radio could
• 46:36
Speaker 3: be the same, but because you are as Robriel would say,
• 46:38
Speaker 3: you are, you know, radio with pictures? Why is it that?
• 46:43
Speaker 3: And this is not me talking to this as other
• 46:45
Speaker 3: people they'll say, when never there is a tragedy, it
• 46:47
Speaker 3: did not necessarily in Charleston, but wherever. Why do they
• 46:50
Speaker 3: always interview like the worst possible people and put them
• 46:53
Speaker 3: on the air. That's a question. I know you have
• 46:55
Speaker 3: gotten and you know you're going on TV, Graham, I'll
• 46:59
Speaker 3: put the bra on, you know that kind of the thing.
• 47:01
  Speaker 9: Uh.
• 47:01
Speaker 3: But but in my experience in things like that is
• 47:05
Speaker 3: sometimes that's the people that want to talk.
• 47:07
Speaker 5: I think that's awesome that there's anyone, you know, anybody
• 47:11
Speaker 5: who will get on television and share their story with us.
• 47:13
Speaker 5: To me is an amazing human being because it takes
• 47:18
Speaker 5: a lot of confidence, a lot of courage, and to
• 47:21
Speaker 5: just get on TV and share your opinion. Sometimes sharing
• 47:23
Speaker 5: your opinion like that in a tough situation can be isolating,
• 47:29
Speaker 5: and there are people who are willing to get on
• 47:31
Speaker 5: television and say what they think, say how they feel.
• 47:35
Speaker 5: And I'm always really really grateful for anyone who will
• 47:38
Speaker 5: step up in that way, because we can't do our
• 47:41
Speaker 5: job without people who will share their story. The people
• 47:45
Speaker 5: who call the newsroom and say you should do a
• 47:46
Speaker 5: story on this, great, will you talk about it with
• 47:48
  Speaker 5: us on camera?
• 47:49
Speaker 4: Well, no, that's very difficult for us to be able
• 47:51
Speaker 4: to do a story. And I got to be honest
• 47:53
  Speaker 4: with you.
• 47:53
Speaker 5: People care when they hear from people who they can
• 47:57
Speaker 5: relate to, who are like them, who are and so
• 47:59
Speaker 5: we all need to, you know, just be grateful that
• 48:02
Speaker 5: there are people who are willing to put themselves out
• 48:05
Speaker 5: there in a way that is not always easy, and
• 48:08
Speaker 5: so where I'm totally grateful for those opportunities.
• 48:10
Speaker 3: I'm knock out some texts here, Texas, keep it lit
• 48:13
Speaker 3: up at night, However, I still want one night a
• 48:15
Speaker 3: year that I can sleep an hour longer, says a text.
• 48:18
Speaker 4: I want that to no matter this season, Texas.
• 48:20
Speaker 3: Dave Florida guy. This is a person who texts shown
• 48:23
Speaker 3: a regular basis with West Virginia Connections who lives in Florida.
• 48:26
Speaker 3: It's amazing all the whiners about daylight saving time. It's
• 48:29
Speaker 3: gone on for one hundred years. I guess they get
• 48:31
Speaker 3: mad because they can't get drunk at the bars by
• 48:34
Speaker 3: losing an hour of drinking time. You just have to
• 48:36
Speaker 3: start earlier. Six says, you mean Amanda isn't going to
• 48:42
Speaker 3: be the new host of the show, No offense, Dave
• 48:44
Speaker 3: love you, but it's Amanda Baron after all. No, I'm
• 48:46
Speaker 3: not leaving. I'm not going anywhere.
• 48:48
Speaker 5: Stay right where you are, Stay right where you are now.
• 48:52
Speaker 5: I think the only thing we have to remember is
• 48:55
Speaker 5: to turn the clock, go spring for it. We spring
• 48:57
Speaker 5: forward this weekend. I always get confused. Do not that
• 49:00
Speaker 5: you got to think about that? Spencer said yesterday on there,
• 49:02
Speaker 5: he said, now you've got to spring your clocks for
• 49:04
Speaker 5: it if you don't want to be late.
• 49:06
Speaker 4: And I said, I'm not sure that that ever matters
• 49:08
  Speaker 4: for some people.
• 49:10
Speaker 3: Tex says, why does a ballpark do these type of
• 49:12
Speaker 3: activities when it's still cold, damp, rainy, and just dreary outside.
• 49:15
Speaker 3: It's supposed to rain tomorrow and not get above fifty.
• 49:17
Speaker 3: Kids will get sick. Well, the problem with that is
• 49:20
Speaker 3: is that they have to schedule these things like six
• 49:21
Speaker 3: months in advance, because they have to get the inflatables there.
• 49:25
Speaker 3: And with when you are scheduling March or April, much
• 49:29
Speaker 3: like November, you could get a variety of things. I
• 49:31
Speaker 3: saw some of your guys footage of a major snowstorm
• 49:34
Speaker 3: that happened on this date or maybe yesterday in twenty fifteen.
• 49:38
Speaker 3: So you just never know. I understand what they're saying,
• 49:40
Speaker 3: but you just never You just never know when you're scheduled.
• 49:42
Speaker 4: No, you never know. And you got to get the
• 49:43
Speaker 4: season started when the season's got to start.
• 49:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, Texas used common sense. Put daylight saving sim on
• 49:48
Speaker 3: a ballot because the legislature can't do common sense. Tex says,
• 49:53
Speaker 3: I'm older, so I could say this. Over the years,
• 49:55
Speaker 3: we've had several local TV newspeople that have connected with
• 49:57
Speaker 3: the community. Amanda is one of the.
• 50:00
Speaker 4: Oh, thank you very much.
• 50:01
  Speaker 3: I'm just very kind. I think it's amazing that you're
• 50:03
Speaker 3: texting that from across the table. I think that's I.
• 50:06
Speaker 4: Do you have an ability to multi tench that's his
• 50:08
  Speaker 4: go to.
• 50:09
Speaker 3: Don't let him do that. He turns that with me too,
• 50:11
Speaker 3: do it every time.
• 50:11
  Speaker 16: T J.
• 50:12
Speaker 3: Meadows is here at little preview of talk about have
• 50:13
Speaker 3: you met Amanda Baron?
• 50:14
Speaker 17: I haven't met Amanda Baron, and it's great to see
• 50:16
Speaker 17: Amanda here in the studio.
• 50:18
Speaker 3: It's you know, yeah, it's always great to see If
• 50:20
Speaker 3: nobody ever says it's great to see Dave in.
• 50:22
Speaker 5: The studio, let's back it up here. What's going on
• 50:23
Speaker 5: at the Capitol today?
• 50:24
Speaker 17: Well, before we do that, can we just set the
• 50:27
Speaker 17: time so that it's dark in the morning and as
• 50:29
Speaker 17: much late in the evening as possible and I'll be happy.
• 50:31
Speaker 17: That's my two cents as a man with three children,
• 50:33
Speaker 17: says the man with three children, exactly right. Anyway, Well
• 50:37
Speaker 17: today on the show, so coming up on eleven o six,
• 50:39
Speaker 17: we have Chris Steyer Walt, we'll get back to national
• 50:41
  Speaker 17: politics in Washington.
• 50:42
  Speaker 2: D C.
• 50:43
Speaker 17: Hoppy Kerchival joins us at ten thirty. His latest commentary
• 50:47
Speaker 17: up on that bill that basically would set guardrails about
• 50:51
Speaker 17: what teachers have to tell to parents so you can't
• 50:54
Speaker 17: have gender discussions with students and not disclose those to
• 50:58
  Speaker 17: the parents'.
• 50:59
Speaker 3: Hoppy opines on that. We'll talk with him at ten thirty.
• 51:01
Speaker 17: At ten twenty, we have these two characters, one named
• 51:03
Speaker 17: Dave Allen, one named Demanda Baron, going to be on
• 51:06
  Speaker 17: my show today.
• 51:06
Speaker 3: I'm not sure what's going on. I guess you all
• 51:08
Speaker 3: will tell me at ten twenty.
• 51:09
Speaker 17: Yeah, there's an announcement. We put it that way, okay,
• 51:12
Speaker 17: kind of a big deal. And then we'll kick off
• 51:14
Speaker 17: the show today with Brad mclahaney at ten six. He'll
• 51:17
Speaker 17: bring us up to speed on what is happening at
• 51:18
Speaker 17: the Capitol day recap yesterday and we'll go from there.
• 51:21
Speaker 17: And no steam release at eleven thirty. That's always fine.
• 51:24
Speaker 4: Steamer release is a great day.
• 51:25
Speaker 5: One of those bills that they're talking about is about
• 51:27
Speaker 5: arming teachers, and there was some testimony yesterday from one
• 51:30
Speaker 5: of the lawmakers about how in some cases law enforcement
• 51:34
Speaker 5: is actually you know, several minutes away. I think this
• 51:37
Speaker 5: particular lawmaker said an hour can be up to an
• 51:40
Speaker 5: hour for a response time. So that's one of the
• 51:42
Speaker 5: bills that is moving through and I know there's a
• 51:45
