- 0:09Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 0:10Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 0:11Speaker 3: The Voice returns for season 30 tonight. Who are the
- 0:17Speaker 3: four judges? Or the coaches, I should say.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Oh, I got this down because I'm so excited about it.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I'm very excited for Riley Green.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Check.
- 0:28Speaker 2: First time going to be on, and he's so stinking
- 0:31Speaker 2: hot and sexy. I will be looking forward to watching
- 0:34Speaker 2: him every week that the season is here.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Okay, so Riley Green. Queen Latifah, Kelly Clarkson, and good
- 0:43Speaker 2: old Adam Levine.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You got it.
- 0:45Speaker 3: All right.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 0:46Speaker 3: You nailed it. Literally. Best Voice wins award-winning musicians Queen
- 0:51Speaker 3: Latifah and Riley Green. They join Kelly Clarkson and Adam
- 0:54Speaker 3: Levine as coaches for the milestone 30th season of the
- 0:58Speaker 3: award-winning musical competition series, The Voice, premiering tonight at 7
- 1:03Speaker 3: on NBC 12 News.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Kyle, what do we need to know today?
- 1:07Speaker 4: So this is just heartbreaking. 23-year-old Emily Normandin Parker was
- 1:12Speaker 4: doing what we kind of tell people to do after
- 1:14Speaker 4: a night out. She and her friend called an Uber
- 1:16Speaker 4: to get home safely. Her friend got sick, threw up
- 1:19Speaker 4: in the car, and instead of getting them somewhere safe,
- 1:22Speaker 4: the driver actually pulled over on the freeway. After an
- 1:25Speaker 4: argument over what happened, he just drove off, left both
- 1:28Speaker 4: women stranded there. Literally on the freeway, right?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, how dangerous. Exactly.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Emily was then hit and killed by another car, and
- 1:36Speaker 4: her parents have been fighting it, and they were just
- 1:38Speaker 4: awarded $ 40 million after an arbitrator found Uber and the
- 1:43Speaker 4: driver responsible. Uber is fighting that decision, but I'm kind
- 1:46Speaker 4: of like... Did you guys do the right thing in
- 1:48Speaker 4: this situation?
- 1:49Speaker 1: That's terrible. That is terrible. Like, so they vomit in
- 1:52Speaker 1: your car, the vomit's in there already. Get them somewhere safe.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:55Speaker 1: That's terrible.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Obviously they're not well, like you don't, and then you
- 1:59Speaker 4: don't leave anybody on the freeway and no matter what
- 2:01Speaker 4: their condition is.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Like you hear that all the time.
- 2:03Speaker 4: If even if a car just pulled over on the
- 2:04Speaker 4: side and they have a flat or whatever, sometimes it's just, Oh,
- 2:08Speaker 4: that makes me so sad.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I know.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I know. And I know that like, I mean, the
- 2:11Speaker 4: family's getting $ 40 million, but it's never going to bring
- 2:13Speaker 4: their daughter back. Converse is going viral for all the
- 2:18Speaker 4: wrong reasons right now. They have an ad right now
- 2:20Speaker 4: that shows K-pop star Karina standing under a star-shaped spotlight.
- 2:25Speaker 4: She's wearing black Converse. There's black Converse lined all around
- 2:28Speaker 4: the star from the spotlight. But then she's also holding
- 2:31Speaker 4: a pair of the Converse next to her long white skirt.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:36Speaker 1: A lot of people notice that.
- 2:38Speaker 4: The combination when you zoom in on the skirt and
- 2:42Speaker 4: the shoes, it probably unintentionally resembles a KKK lynching situation.
- 2:49Speaker 4: And so a lot of people have called this ad
- 2:51Speaker 4: racist and asked Converse to take it down. Converse apologized.
- 2:54Speaker 1: They pulled the ad.
- 2:55Speaker 4: They said, we understand why this image is deeply upsetting
- 2:58Speaker 4: and recognize we got this one wrong.
- 3:00Speaker 1: And they added, they are working to remove it everywhere.
- 3:02Speaker 4: It has appeared saying this should not have happened. We
- 3:05Speaker 4: will do better. It's one of those things where you
- 3:08Speaker 4: just go like, how did this, like, how did this
- 3:10Speaker 4: get through?
- 3:10Speaker 1: Like nobody caught it.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Nobody caught that.
- 3:12Speaker 4: What's the process on how you got, you know, how it,
- 3:15Speaker 4: you know, you got to analyze stuff like that.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Princess Diana's revenge dress is going up for sale. It's
- 3:22Speaker 4: that iconic black dress that she wore in 1994, the
- 3:25Speaker 4: same night that King Charles now publicly admitted he'd been unfaithful.
- 3:31Speaker 4: It is going up for sale. They think it's going
- 3:32Speaker 4: to sell probably for about $ 150, 000 to $ 300, 000 at Sotheby's auction.
- 3:38Speaker 4: This is one of those that I'm like, oh, I
- 3:40Speaker 4: wonder like, I actually wonder if a Kardashian is going
- 3:42Speaker 4: to buy it so they can wear it. It's just
- 3:44Speaker 4: such an iconic piece of history and an iconic piece
- 3:47Speaker 4: of fashion.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You know what's funny is I know exactly the dress
- 3:50Speaker 1: you're talking about because I remember the revenge dress. Is
- 3:52Speaker 1: that what it's called? The revenge dress.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's black. Yep.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And it's like goes off her shoulders.
- 3:59Speaker 4: The Cardinals lost our home opener. It was a little rough,
- 4:03Speaker 4: but we are now one and one. So it's, and
- 4:04Speaker 4: it's the beginning of the season. So nobody freak out.
- 4:07Speaker 1: This is really cool though.
- 4:08Speaker 4: You guys, Mesa gateway library now has roaming, which is
- 4:12Speaker 4: the United States library.
- 4:14Speaker 1: First ever library robot. Whoa.
- 4:17Speaker 4: And Romy can greet people in eight different languages, help
- 4:21Speaker 4: you find your way around the library, and even interact
- 4:23Speaker 4: with kids.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Kind of scary.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Not sure if I'm into that part just yet. Does
- 4:26Speaker 1: she whisper? She's going to be like all... She has
- 4:30Speaker 1: to answer like....
- 4:32Speaker 4: Kind of cool that we have like one of the
- 4:34Speaker 4: most innovative libraries in the country and also just won
- 4:38Speaker 4: 2026 public library of the year it's in our own
- 4:40Speaker 4: backyard so if you're looking for a good library to
- 4:41Speaker 4: go to just uh head to mesa and that's what
- 4:44Speaker 4: you need to know
