- 0:00Speaker 1: The crown of the year. Ah, happy morning of autumn sweet,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Yet ripe and rich with summer's heat. Near me each
- 0:09Speaker 1: humble flower and weed, The dock's rich umber gone to seed,
- 0:14Speaker 1: The hawkbit's gold, the bayberry's spice, One late wild rose
- 0:19Speaker 1: beyond all price. Each is a friend, and all are dear,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Pathetic signs of the waning year. The painted rose leaves,
- 0:28Speaker 1: how they glow! Like crimson wine the woodbines show, the
- 0:32Speaker 1: wholesome yarrow's clusters fine, like frosted silver dimly shine. And
- 0:37Speaker 1: who thy quaintest charm shall tell? Thou little scarlet pimpernel?
- 0:42Speaker 1: In the mellow golden autumn days, when the world is
- 0:45Speaker 1: zoned in their purple haze, a spirit of beauty walks
- 0:48Speaker 1: abroad that fills the heart with peace of God. The
- 0:52Speaker 1: spring and summer may bless and cheer, but autumn brings
- 0:56Speaker 1: us the crown of the year.
