- 0:01Speaker 1: I know it hasn't happened often. I've met like the
- 0:05Speaker 1: voice of Thumper, Peter, I believe is his name. I
- 0:09Speaker 1: think he was four.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Oh, wow. Okay.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Yeah. And he's the youngest person I've met so far.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I know I met a couple of the kids who
- 0:20Speaker 1: did 101 Dalmatians. I think they're around six. John Moore
- 0:25Speaker 1: is the voice of Andy. He was six or seven
- 0:28Speaker 1: when he started as Andy. So I know they have
- 0:30Speaker 1: worked with young kids. I don't know about how like,
- 0:33Speaker 1: you know, two and a half. I think it just
- 0:35Speaker 1: kind of worked out because my dad did work there
- 0:37Speaker 1: and I went to preschool with the director's son. So
- 0:40Speaker 1: I knew him. And so I don't think it's like
- 0:43Speaker 1: your typical, you know, typical thing. And normally adults can
- 0:47Speaker 1: do kids' voices and they're easier to direct.
- 0:50Speaker 2: So oftentimes they'll go to that. But yeah, this was just,
- 0:53Speaker 2: so I don't know.
- 0:54Speaker 1: I'm sure it like brought up on a whole bunch
- 0:57Speaker 1: of challenges that they had to work through. So who
- 0:59Speaker 1: knows if they'd opt to work with a two and
- 1:01Speaker 1: a half year old again. I know around four to
- 1:04Speaker 1: six is like, I've met other actors that are around
- 1:07Speaker 1: that age.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Well, yeah. I mean, I know I just love when,
- 1:11Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, cause I totally agree with
- 1:13Speaker 3: you in the sense of like now, you know, a
- 1:16Speaker 3: lot of voices can are adults cause they can do
- 1:18Speaker 3: some pretty cool things to make themselves sound old, young,
- 1:22Speaker 3: whatever it is. But I love what it's kids because
- 1:25Speaker 3: it just seems so real, you know? And then, I mean,
- 1:28Speaker 3: even just recent film Hamnet that came out, like seeing
- 1:33Speaker 3: these kids that got to star in something so raw.
- 1:38Speaker 2: What movie is that?
- 1:39Speaker 3: Hamnet. Do you know what I'm talking about?
- 1:42Speaker 2: No, I haven't heard of it yet.
- 1:43Speaker 3: So it was a film that came out several months ago,
- 1:48Speaker 3: but it's a theory about how Shakespeare wrote Hamlet and
- 1:54Speaker 3: based on his son passing away, who was little. Okay.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And the stars of the film were kids. And watching
- 2:04Speaker 3: them play such a human direct role, but they were
- 2:10Speaker 3: so themselves, like kids. I don't know, it was just
- 2:13Speaker 3: so much more heartwarming because it wasn't fake. You didn't
- 2:16Speaker 3: know someone was pretending to be something.
- 2:19Speaker 2: It was just a kid.
- 2:20Speaker 3: And you're like, yeah, that's probably how a kid would
- 2:22Speaker 3: react in that situation. And so, yeah. Yeah. Maybe that's
- 2:26Speaker 3: another reason why I miss the old Pixar, because there
- 2:28Speaker 3: were so many kid sounds, like actual kids. I don't know.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't know about Thumper. Yeah, Thumper was four.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Nemo was young, too.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I forget. Yeah, he was six, I think.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Six, okay, yeah. And then John, who's Andy, like six
- 2:43Speaker 2: or seven.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And it does bring a different kind of magic, because
- 2:47Speaker 2: it's authentic, you know.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Well, what's your favorite Pixar movie? I'm guessing it's not Monsters, right?
- 2:54Speaker 3: My favorite....
- 2:56Speaker 1: As much as Monsters, Inc. holds a special place in
- 2:58Speaker 1: my heart, I always say WALL-E. And not only do
- 3:01Speaker 1: I love WALL-E and I love the story, but my dad,
- 3:05Speaker 1: like I said before, is a storyboard artist. And I
- 3:08Speaker 1: think I was like around middle school when he was
- 3:09Speaker 1: working on it. And he was working on it for
- 3:11Speaker 1: a few years. And that was like a time in
- 3:13Speaker 1: my life I remember most of him like coming home
- 3:15Speaker 1: and sharing the story development with me. And then finally
- 3:19Speaker 1: getting able to see it at Pixar in the theater
- 3:21Speaker 1: all put together.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Kind of added this like special.
- 3:25Speaker 1: specialness to it so but even beyond that i just
- 3:28Speaker 1: love molly he's so cute and it's a good storyline
- 3:31Speaker 1: so how about you you don't have to say monsters oh.
- 3:36Speaker 3: For me um what was my favorite probably finding nemo
- 3:42Speaker 3: yeah that one's a good one because i think i
- 3:45Speaker 3: yeah i just related to the dad so much he
- 3:49Speaker 3: was so fearful of everything and my sister was much
- 3:53Speaker 3: more like nemo you know, go out into adventure. And
- 3:57Speaker 3: so I was always like nervous all the time. And
- 4:02Speaker 3: so it was just to see him face his fears
- 4:06Speaker 3: and find his son and find this friend and find
- 4:09Speaker 3: these turtles that were just so cool. And then all
- 4:12Speaker 3: the people in the aquarium and then like that girl
- 4:15Speaker 3: would give me nightmares with the braces.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I don't even remember her name.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah. And she would like thump on the tank. And
- 4:23Speaker 3: like literally just the pressure. And because of that, like
- 4:28Speaker 3: I literally, I think after that, every time I would
- 4:32Speaker 3: hit a tank with the fish, I would just think
- 4:34Speaker 3: about like for them, is this like.
- 4:36Speaker 2: This boom, boom. Yeah.
- 4:40Speaker 3: And it was just, that was just so visceral for me.
- 4:43Speaker 3: And then of course, like, you know, What's the one that, like,
- 4:45Speaker 3: squirts out ink?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I forget.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But me and my mom always say if we're, like,
- 4:51Speaker 1: get scared or whatever, we always say, I inked myself.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It's like, yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 1: There's so many good lines from that movie and Pixar
- 4:58Speaker 1: movies in general. But Nemo specifically, like you said, just
- 5:00Speaker 1: keep swimming.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Use it all the time. I inked myself. I'm going
- 5:04Speaker 2: to touch the butt. And then he calls the boat.
- 5:07Speaker 2: So many, like, awesome lines that you're just like, you
- 5:10Speaker 2: can't beat it. Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 3: So good. Um, and also just, yeah, the dentist, it
- 5:17Speaker 3: was really scary. I think that was, I probably contributed
- 5:21Speaker 3: to how much I hated the dentist as a kid.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I don't know. That was just that whole setup was like,
- 5:25Speaker 3: and especially if they had an aquarium at the dentist office,
- 5:29Speaker 3: you were like, do I need to save all these fish?
- 5:32Speaker 3: Do they need to get out? Do they need to
- 5:34Speaker 3: go home? But, um, You know, I wanted to ask
- 5:40Speaker 3: you because, I mean, I think with Monsters, Inc. too,
- 5:42Speaker 3: like a big thing about it was Boo facing her
- 5:45Speaker 3: fears and also realizing that her fears were actually not warranted.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Like these were actually nice monsters. Like they were kind
- 5:53Speaker 3: to her and they actually didn't want to, you know.
- 5:57Speaker 3: At first it was like, yeah, scare her. But then
- 5:59Speaker 3: like they had compassion and they didn't seem as they were,
- 6:03Speaker 3: you know. What do you think for you as you've,
- 6:08Speaker 3: grown up and been in the world and done things.
- 6:14Speaker 3: What do you think has changed from when you were
- 6:16Speaker 3: a kid of something that you really thought was bad
- 6:19Speaker 3: or you didn't like or scared you and now you
- 6:23Speaker 3: see it very differently?
