- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi, it's Adam here. And in today's episode of The
- 0:43Hypnotist, you can be listening to a hypnosis session about
- 0:47selling. And I was working with a client
- 0:50that was selling timeshare. And part of their pitch is that
- 0:56they were selling to people that didn't really want to be there.
- 0:59They had some kind of a deal or a discount that enabled them to
- 1:04subsidize their accommodation. The condition was that they had
- 1:07to sit through a pitch. And as you could imagine, most
- 1:11of the people didn't really want to be there.
- 1:13They were just there out of obligation, knowing that they
- 1:17had to be there because that's why they got a preferential
- 1:21rate. And that would be frustrating
- 1:24for them as prospects, but also frustrating for the person
- 1:27selling to them. Because the premise is that no
- 1:30one really wants to to be there, but a certain number of people
- 1:37that were there could benefit from some form of discounted
- 1:44ability to be at high end accommodation anywhere in the
- 1:47world. Now, not everyone would.
- 1:50And This is why it was very important that the the person
- 1:54selling could figure out if they were one of the people that
- 1:57could benefit or not. And then if they could explain
- 2:01how it works. But obviously there is a lack of
- 2:05engagement. There's objections, there's the
- 2:08fear of the prospect to making a a wrong choice.
- 2:12She got all of this going on and this particular client wanted to
- 2:16feel resilient and unfazed if there was a lack of engagement,
- 2:21because that's what the majority of them were, But really feel
- 2:25playful and enthusiastic for the ability to figure out could they
- 2:33get the prospect to really be engaged in the idea of what it
- 2:37could do for them. And that might be using things
- 2:40like anecdotes and stories rather than just direct
- 2:44questions and being a bit more intuitive.
- 2:47It uses golf as the broad metaphor because this particular
- 2:52client really enjoyed playing golf and they had references and
- 2:57they felt relaxed when they were playing golf and if it went
- 2:59wrong in the golf course, then it just is what it is.
- 3:03They fell unfazed by that and they would continue playing.
- 3:06So that was a good resource state, but also a broad strategy
- 3:10that we can map across to this idea of selling.
- 3:13And and of course people, if you, if you do sell, you're
- 3:16being paid to sell or you earn Commission based on yourself.
- 3:20When you're playing golf, you're doing the opposite.
- 3:22You're paying to play golf. So you're doing it because it's
- 3:25enjoyable and you're choosing to do it rather than the the income
- 3:30generating thing, which can feel like it's got a different energy
- 3:33attached. The key to it is that the more
- 3:36resilient and resourceful and playful and enthusiastic they
- 3:40felt, the more likely they were to be financially successful in
- 3:45that role, which is really what they wanted.
- 3:48And I'm saying this knowing that there's going to be a very small
- 3:50percentage of people that involves selling that's actually
- 3:54listening to this episode. But at the same time, what I
- 3:58would say is that there probably is 1 area of your life the the
- 4:04way you go about it isn't giving you the best return on that.
- 4:09And that might be what you do in your social time or how you
- 4:14exercise or what you do when you're bored.
- 4:17There'll be certain things in your life that it is just not
- 4:20giving you the highest return on the investment of that time.
- 4:24So therefore you could look at this session as a way of being
- 4:29more playful and enthusiastic and calm and composed about
- 4:34whatever the area of your life is that currently is a source of
- 4:38frustration or stress. And if you treat it in that way,
- 4:43then you can actually get some value from this session.
- 4:46The best way to get the most from this is to think about that
- 4:50area of stress or frustration in your life.
- 4:53So you're priming your brain to have a breakthrough, but at the
- 4:55same time to find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:58won't be disturbed to relax and enjoy the session.
- 6:19The. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 6:59you breathe in, breathe in a feeling of resourceful
- 7:05relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 7:13yourself to let go of any echoes of tension, stress, or worries.
- 7:21Just feel that you're letting go of anything that is no longer
- 7:27serving you. As you breathe in and breathe
- 7:34out, allow yourself to enhance and amplify that relaxation.
- 7:45And maybe you notice the way your body is settling into that
- 7:49comfortable position. And as you become more
- 7:54comfortable, more relaxed, feel tension leaving with every
- 8:02exhale. As your body relaxes, your
- 8:09imagination awakens and I want you to imagine a beautiful,
- 8:16magnificent golf course. Imagine it's a perfect day, the
- 8:24right temperature, blue skies, and imagine yourself walking
- 8:33onto that peaceful, relaxing golf course.
- 8:41Maybe you can hear the sound of the wind gently rustling through
- 8:46the trees. Notice the temperature, the
- 8:51feeling of the air. Maybe get a sense of the sound
- 8:59of the grass or the ground beneath your footsteps.
- 9:08Look into that blue sky, feel the sun on your skin.
- 9:17It almost creates a feeling of an aura of energy that surrounds
- 9:24you, like a soothing glow or a warm cloak.
- 9:35And as you stroll there on that golf course, I want you to
- 9:42notice how peaceful and calm everything feels.
- 9:52There's no rush, no pressure, just the easy rhythm of your
- 10:00steps. And with each step, you begin to
- 10:09feel lighter and more at ease, your mind becoming clearer, your
- 10:18body becoming more relaxed, and the sound of your footsteps is
- 10:25in perfect harmony with the gentle sounds of the course
- 10:30around you. So take a moment now to really
- 10:36connect with this feeling of calm, of peace and comfort and
- 10:45know that just like the rhythm of walking along this course,
- 10:52that you can find your own rhythm when you're engaging with
- 10:58prospects, when presenting, when selling.
- 11:04What if you dictate the pace? Perhaps you can imagine standing
- 11:11at the first tee on this beautiful course.
- 11:15The goal is clear, you want to hit the ball down the fairway
- 11:21and keep moving forward. But it's not about rushing.
- 11:28It's about focusing on each shot, each moment and trusting
- 11:35your ability to stay calm, centred and focused.
- 11:44So take a moment to notice how the club feels in your hands,
- 11:51the way the grip is firm but relaxed.
- 11:55And maybe you notice how you hold the club, perhaps confident
- 12:00and grounded, knowing that you have everything you need to make
- 12:06a perfect shot. And with each breath feel
- 12:12yourself sinking deeper into relaxation.
- 12:18With each breath you feel stronger, more confident, but
- 12:24most importantly, more resilient.
- 12:29You know that just like the golf course, you can approach any
- 12:35situation with a sense of calm, knowing that with each swing,
- 12:43each pitch, you are moving closer to your goals, what you
- 12:52desire, what is good for you and good for others.
- 13:04I want you to imagine you're playing a round of golf, but
- 13:09instead of hitting a ball, you're engaging with your
- 13:12prospects. Each conversation and each
- 13:16interaction is like taking a shot on the course.
- 13:22You're focused. You're not rushing to the hole
- 13:27as you acknowledge that the process will take its own time
- 13:34and feel that you are unlocking a vault of patience and
- 13:41resilience within you to work through each step with ease.
- 13:50And if you encounter an obstacle, maybe a tricky patch
- 13:55of grass or a bunker, you don't worry.
- 14:00You simply adjust your aim and swing, finding new ways to
- 14:07navigate the challenge. And maybe you can remember a
- 14:12time when you were speaking to a prospect who seemed uninterested
- 14:17or unengaged. Feel that instead of feeling
- 14:22frustrated, you have the ability to shift your approach.
- 14:29And maybe that's to experiment with new ways of presenting your
- 14:34offer, while also maintaining a calm composure that you trust
- 14:43yourself to keep going, adjusting your strategy until
- 14:48you find the perfect flow. As you continue playing, you
- 14:57begin to notice that you have more options than you realised,
- 15:06that if one approach doesn't seem to work, you can change
- 15:09your angle, just like adjusting your stance on the green.
- 15:16Perhaps experiment with using a different set of phrases, a new
- 15:24story, either yours or someone else's, or a playful comment
- 15:30that interrupts their pattern or captures their attention in a
- 15:36new way. Just because they do their thing
- 15:43doesn't mean you have to do what you've done before.
- 15:48As you start to feel unfazed by any lack of engagement or
- 15:54resistance. Knowing that it's just part of
- 15:58the process. And like a golfer who is used to
- 16:03the occasional missed shot, you know that every interaction is
- 16:10an opportunity to learn and improve.
- 16:15That you feel it's able for you to be centred and resilient.
- 16:23Knowing that every prospect you speak to is just another
- 16:29opportunity to try out new approaches until you find the
- 16:37perfect way to connect. You get to feel playful, that
- 16:45it's fun. No more frustration or
- 16:49annoyance. Feel almost that you want to be
- 16:59challenged, because that will unlock new strategies, new
- 17:04resources within you. As you stand there on the
- 17:10course, you begin to absorb the qualities of the most successful
- 17:17players, but not golf players. I want you to imagine the faces
- 17:25of those people in your organization that have attribute
- 17:32strategies or qualities that enabled them to sell well.
- 17:40I want you to get a sense that maybe it's their ability to stay
- 17:46calm under pressure, those that can read tonality's reactions
- 17:54and respond or have excellent stories, anecdotes that can
- 18:03avoid the pitfalls and the bunkers of negative lines of
- 18:08questioning and steer it towards the fairway or the green.
- 18:18I want you to get a sense that those qualities, those skills,
- 18:22those resource states must imagine a flow of energy from
- 18:28them into you. Their strategies become your
- 18:33strategies. Their resources become your
- 18:37resources. Feel them flowing into you.
- 18:43Patience, playfulness, resilience, and the enthusiasm
- 18:48to try new things. And when presenting to
- 18:52prospects, imagine feeling enthusiastic about helping them
- 18:59discover the incredible value in what you offer.
- 19:05That any weight of eagerness is diluting and dissipating.
- 19:10And instead you feel a passionate commitment, perhaps
- 19:15to helping them save money or enjoy fantastic experiences.
- 19:22Feel that this is a win win outcome.
- 19:27You're not just selling, you're offering a solution that for
- 19:31certain people in certain circumstances enhances their
- 19:36life. And for those people, you feel
- 19:41excited to help them realise that as you speak with your
- 19:47prospects, you feel yourself connecting with them
- 19:51emotionally, intuitively and authentically.
- 19:57You could start to trust your instincts to guide the
- 20:00conversation and sense when it's time to try a new approach or
- 20:06switch strategies. And whether they are engaged or
- 20:11not, you feel unshaken, confident that you can adapt and
- 20:18adjust until you find the right words.
- 20:22The right story is the right angle, and if it isn't to be
- 20:28then that's fine, but it doesn't affect the next prospect in the
- 20:36same way that on the golf course 1 hole that's a nightmare.
- 20:43Several shots over par doesn't affect the next hole and just
- 20:51like on the golf course, you understand the importance of
- 20:56gauging interest along the way, assessing the terrain, the
- 21:01trajectory, and you become comfortable with checking in
- 21:07trial closes. We're just noticing the small
- 21:11non verbal signs of engagement that tell you when it's time to
- 21:15close and when to continue. I feel that your sensory acuity
- 21:23is amplifying as you acknowledge that something is not about
- 21:31logic, it's about the flow of energy.
- 21:35The connection between you and your prospect starts to feel
- 21:40like a game, a playful challenge where you experiment with
- 21:45different combinations of words and stories, always learning,
- 21:52always adjusting, and always feeling that you're on the verge
- 21:57of increasing your conversion rates just a little bit each
- 22:02time, but in ways that make a big difference in the long run.
- 22:13I want you to imagine what it would look like to imagine
- 22:17seeing yourself in your very next presentation, but see
- 22:23yourself with a new level of calm composure, a playful
- 22:30enthusiasm, and the willingness to try different approaches to
- 22:39have fun playing the game. And notice when you're in those
- 22:46resourceful states, it doesn't matter if you don't get the
- 22:52outcome. That version of you feels that
- 22:56you either win or you learn, and if neither are possible, you
- 23:02just move on. And with that in mind, it's time
- 23:09to return to the here and now. But taking that resilience,
- 23:12patience, intuition, and enthusiasm with you, where every
- 23:17conversation, every interaction is a chance to play, to explore,
- 23:21and to succeed, it's time to return to the present.
- 23:27So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 23:32nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 23:34wiggle your toes. Start to calibrate to the here
- 23:36and now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 23:43Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 23:51Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 23:55Wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
