- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:11Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. I wonder if Frederick's listening. No, he didn't
- 0:16Speaker 1: listen when he was here, like like, he is so
- 0:19Speaker 1: happy right now to be free of this. I don't
- 0:22Speaker 1: think we have much to disagree on. I hate to
- 0:24Speaker 1: let the guy down. We're not going to fight about that. No, no, yes,
- 0:26Speaker 1: it is no bigger than you think. One thing for me.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Monkeys fight, Tony kennigliaro Oo Jackson, you know all those guys,
- 0:34Speaker 1: Both of those guys. Yeah, all of those guys. People
- 0:37Speaker 1: sniff the court, they do. What I'm saying is that
- 0:40Speaker 1: experts say it means nothing. You know. I was like,
- 0:44Speaker 1: whye to me, I'm sorry, what was that? What is
- 0:48Speaker 1: supposed to you did said it to me? So you're what? What?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Why am I not in the loop anymore? Because if
- 0:59Speaker 1: you're just my fun that this is Patriots Unfiltered fueled
- 1:04Speaker 1: by Duncan All right, Welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday, Wednesday.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I had to think about that for a second. It's
- 1:14Speaker 1: Wednesday here at Gillette stadium, And the reason why we're
- 1:16Speaker 1: having a show today is because they had practice yesterday,
- 1:20Speaker 1: which we had rented of access. Yeah, in retrospect, maybe
- 1:23Speaker 1: we should have should have just kept my dad for thinking.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I thought we'll do that again. Instead they did calistenics.
- 1:31Speaker 1: To still say calisthenics, they did running for about I
- 1:34Speaker 1: don't know, Jack will wait, wait, wait what, I've never
- 1:36Speaker 1: heard that palistenics. What it's like where you like touch
- 1:39Speaker 1: your toes palistenics like I was jumping Jack squat thrust.
- 1:43Speaker 1: It was more like suicide, it was. I mean, it's
- 1:45Speaker 1: just walks, sprint walk walk back on the field, not
- 1:48Speaker 1: on the hill, lot of running sprint conditioning, which which
- 1:51Speaker 1: Andy hard informed us, is now the way the future.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I guess that's something you know, you do your conditioning
- 1:56Speaker 1: before practice, So maybe that's something we have to look
- 1:58Speaker 1: forward to this summer, that they're gonna run gasers before practice.
- 2:01Speaker 1: That was something that that Andy observes, So I don't know.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And then they only practice for about an hour as
- 2:09Speaker 1: opposed to two like last week. Yea um and no
- 2:15Speaker 1: sort of full teamwork, no offense against defense. The offense
- 2:19Speaker 1: was with the offense. The defense was with the defense. Okay,
- 2:22Speaker 1: so it was a little different set up than last
- 2:24Speaker 1: were kind of installing things. That's what I sort of
- 2:28Speaker 1: gather or maybe just refreshing after a long weekend. Get
- 2:31Speaker 1: knocked the cobwebs off with the conditioning a little bit,
- 2:34Speaker 1: reviewing maybe what they had done the previous week. It
- 2:36Speaker 1: didn't seem like a whole lot of new stuff now, Fred,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I know, um, there are times when even when the
- 2:41Speaker 1: media is not allowed access, we have like a camera
- 2:44Speaker 1: or something. Yes, did they have anything on Monday? Did
- 2:47Speaker 1: we have a camera out there? Did the Patriots have
- 2:49Speaker 1: practice on one day? I was just wondering, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I don't we weren't there? No that okay,
- 2:55Speaker 1: so we had nobody there. We had nobody there if
- 2:57Speaker 1: probably chances are that they didn't practice that. Yeah, I
- 3:00Speaker 1: was just wondering, Yeah, you know, yeah, how'd you guys
- 3:03Speaker 1: do yesterday? You got some drinking in good We're gonna
- 3:05Speaker 1: run sprints now. For the first twenty minutes of practice,
- 3:09Speaker 1: it seemed kind of like what it was. But otherwise,
- 3:12Speaker 1: some people some some faces back though that might be
- 3:15Speaker 1: I don't know if it's interesting, but that's at least
- 3:18Speaker 1: something to take away from. It's just what you needed
- 3:20Speaker 1: me to look it up. Way reconsult. Um still know
- 3:24Speaker 1: Isaiah Win Harry Um, But but we did see Lawrence
- 3:29Speaker 1: Guy was back, Adrian Phillips. Adrian Phillips was back. He
- 3:33Speaker 1: said he spent time with his his a young kid.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I think it was born in the fall. So I
- 3:38Speaker 1: got a little Ronnie Perkins. Ronnie Perkins actions. He was there,
- 3:41Speaker 1: was active, he was involved on defense a little bit
- 3:44Speaker 1: on the outside like he was last summer when we
- 3:48Speaker 1: got a chance to see him. But um still like
- 3:51Speaker 1: no Matthew jude On and uh you mentioned Isaiah Wynn Right,
- 3:56Speaker 1: Trent Brown now joins him. So there were no tackles
- 4:00Speaker 1: at the practice and another one right, Well they are
- 4:06Speaker 1: continuing to practice, right yeah. But next week will be
- 4:10Speaker 1: the big week for us because it's mandatory mini camp.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You have to be there. It's not a choice, or
- 4:16Speaker 1: you get fined or you get fine. So it'll be
- 4:18Speaker 1: interesting to see. Um. I have a topic that we
- 4:21Speaker 1: don't need to lead off with, but I want to
- 4:23Speaker 1: talk about Win a little bit and wondering, so next
- 4:26Speaker 1: about his whereabouts? So next week we will have shows
- 4:30Speaker 1: on Tuesday and Thursday, and we'll do them training camp style.
- 4:34Speaker 1: We'll be live video high above practice where we'll have
- 4:39Speaker 1: our cameras on the field so you can see what's
- 4:42Speaker 1: going on while we talk about it for a certain
- 4:44Speaker 1: period of time. Until then you'll just look at us.
- 4:47Speaker 1: But we'll be live throughout throughout practice next week, so
- 4:51Speaker 1: we'll see the whole thing. Tuesday and Thursday we'll have shows.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Wednesday we won't have a show, but you guys will
- 4:58Speaker 1: be out there and we can talk about everything you
- 5:01Speaker 1: saw on Wednesday on our Thursday show as well as
- 5:04Speaker 1: what is actually happening. So big week next week, big
- 5:07Speaker 1: big last hurrah before the break before training camp. Yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 1: there's one more access i think on the thirteenth after
- 5:14Speaker 1: next week, which is more like this week, which you know, Well,
- 5:18Speaker 1: the practices are all the same, Yeah, the mini camp
- 5:21Speaker 1: practice is the same as but we get to see
- 5:24Speaker 1: the whole thing. Yeah, and well yeah we get three
- 5:27Speaker 1: days in a row as opposed to one day. Yeah,
- 5:29Speaker 1: that's the only difference. Yeah, and we're gonna be shooting
- 5:33Speaker 1: doing it live like we do in training camp, right,
- 5:36Speaker 1: be great, Yeah, yeah, it's it's I think it's better
- 5:39Speaker 1: that way for us, Like it sort of kills two
- 5:42Speaker 1: birds of one stone. Yeah. Yeah, you get a chance
- 5:44Speaker 1: to talk about it as you're doing it, as opposed
- 5:46Speaker 1: to rehashing it. I think it. Yep, timing will announce timing. Yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they've been likeven th thirty was the starting time for
- 5:56Speaker 1: both practices. It was eleven thirty to one thirty last week.
- 5:59Speaker 1: It was avenirty to twelve thirty yesterday. Yeah, so we'll
- 6:02Speaker 1: figure it out. You know, we'll give you two hours.
- 6:05Speaker 1: But whether or not it's all during practice, well, we'll
- 6:08Speaker 1: have to wait and see and we'll we'll announce the
- 6:10Speaker 1: start time once we're sure of the practice time. Yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 1: so I'm assuming they'll keep it the same, but you
- 6:16Speaker 1: never know. It seems like they're creatures a habit with
- 6:19Speaker 1: the timing of it all. I mean, genuinely, training camp
- 6:22Speaker 1: practices seem to happen a little bit on the earlier
- 6:24Speaker 1: end of it. But right, maybe that's summer hot kind
- 6:27Speaker 1: of thing, trying to get out a little early maybe,
- 6:29Speaker 1: but yeah, a little more midday with these OTAs in
- 6:31Speaker 1: mini camps. Ye, tamara anything to add No, No, I
- 6:38Speaker 1: mean not from yesterday, right, it was a funny day. Yes,
- 6:43Speaker 1: it wasn't a lot. I think I outdid myself getting
- 6:46Speaker 1: a thousand of words out of that blogs of rash.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I mean it was good to see like the rookies speak,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you know, cold strange and tech On Thornton spoke yesterday.
- 6:54Speaker 1: If you're wondering, the topic of his wrists came up
- 6:58Speaker 1: multiple times, It's like, what do you do? I think
- 7:03Speaker 1: he's got some personality there. I like, I liked him.
- 7:08Speaker 1: He had a nice, pleasant way about him. Yeah. Yeah. Also,
- 7:11Speaker 1: I really liked the question about people asked to race
- 7:13Speaker 1: you and he's like, no, not after that four two people.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You people asked me to race all the time, but
- 7:18Speaker 1: not since the fourth um and Bill Belichick spoke yesterday.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I was joking around with Andy because Andy Hart, because
- 7:26Speaker 1: he did ask the question. He tried to dive into
- 7:28Speaker 1: coaching titles. He just talking about run coordinators and Bill
- 7:33Speaker 1: wasn't having it. So right after he asked it, I
- 7:35Speaker 1: texted him, I said, nice try. It was a good question. Yeah,
- 7:39Speaker 1: oh yeah, that was predictably show. But where he kind
- 7:43Speaker 1: of you know, gags out. He used the word title. Well, no,
- 7:47Speaker 1: he used another team like other teams. So Bill took
- 7:50Speaker 1: that opening is saying well, yeah, I asked that. Now.
- 7:52Speaker 1: The reason he did that Now, I happened to be
- 7:54Speaker 1: sitting right next to Andy when he asked the question
- 7:56Speaker 1: and we were talking about it a little bit. The
- 7:57Speaker 1: reason he said that was because he had gone on
- 8:00Speaker 1: a long soliloquy about all the different coaches that he
- 8:04Speaker 1: often talks with, right, and how you know they they
- 8:07Speaker 1: discussed these things. So Andy said, so when you're discussing
- 8:11Speaker 1: these things, as anybody ever said, well, you'd have to
- 8:13Speaker 1: ask them. Okay, yeah, and why are you telling us
- 8:15Speaker 1: all these conversations you had rum But he used the
- 8:18Speaker 1: word titles. That that's where I think he got that.
- 8:21Speaker 1: That was immediately it was like a buzzword. Nope, titles, nope,
- 8:24Speaker 1: out bad. And I think Andy's only point was like,
- 8:29Speaker 1: has not Dave been the running game coordinator? Was? Was
- 8:32Speaker 1: Scar the running game coordinator here all those years? I
- 8:35Speaker 1: don't know, But that's I think that's in other words,
- 8:39Speaker 1: it's nothing new, it's just you don't call it that.
- 8:42Speaker 1: It's just like, and I've said this to you all
- 8:44Speaker 1: the time, we don't have quality control coaches in title.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We have guys who do what quality control coaches do.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And Josh mcdaiel's and Brian Dable were the quality control
- 8:55Speaker 1: coaches when we when they started ye in two thousand,
- 8:59Speaker 1: that's what they did it. Other teams call it offensive
- 9:02Speaker 1: quality control, defensive quality control. It's basically entry level, like
- 9:06Speaker 1: you're recording the plays, you're getting this, you know that
- 9:09Speaker 1: kind of stuff. It's it's gruntwork. You're making sure that
- 9:12Speaker 1: you know train runs on. Yeah, some teams have that entitled.
- 9:15Speaker 1: The Patriots have never had that entitled. They're just coaching assistance.
- 9:19Speaker 1: But they have the coordinators. Like you mentioned Dante. Has
- 9:22Speaker 1: that popped up from time to time or has that
- 9:25Speaker 1: been something that's been consistent. I don't remember seeing it
- 9:27Speaker 1: be announced as such. No, he's never he's all ever
- 9:30Speaker 1: the offensive line coach. Well, I think he at the
- 9:32Speaker 1: end he was the assistant head coach. Right, Oh, Dante was,
- 9:35Speaker 1: you know, and in the offensive line coach. But I'm
- 9:37Speaker 1: wondering if in reality he was what other teams would
- 9:41Speaker 1: call the running game coordinator. Yeah, but we don't get
- 9:43Speaker 1: into that because we don't do titles, right, right, So
- 9:46Speaker 1: that's all come to a head the coordinator except for
- 9:48Speaker 1: a head coach. Yeah, that's a title I think really
- 9:51Speaker 1: until the coordinator thing, which I mean is a coordinator
- 9:53Speaker 1: thing kind of happened right with like Maddie p not
- 9:56Speaker 1: getting named initially, or like it's happened a little when
- 10:00Speaker 1: I feel like now it's yeah, it kind of dominates things.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And I think that you know, in the past, he
- 10:04Speaker 1: always kind of sat, oh, they got a small staff,
- 10:06Speaker 1: it doesn't really matter what the title is, how it's
- 10:08Speaker 1: getting divided up. But now now you're getting into things
- 10:11Speaker 1: where you're having guys in roles that are probably bigger
- 10:14Speaker 1: than what they really appear to be on the surface
- 10:16Speaker 1: of their title, and they don't have that experience, and
- 10:19Speaker 1: you know, that's where it started. I'm not diminishing, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 1: the seriousness of it, you know, in the fact that
- 10:25Speaker 1: it is an issue. But in oh five, I think
- 10:28Speaker 1: it was the year that there wasn't any coordinator in title.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Did we Was it as big a deal with the media?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Like did they care as much then as they do now? No?
- 10:38Speaker 1: Why do you think that? Because it's mad The guy
- 10:40Speaker 1: who was doing it was here for several years, and
- 10:43Speaker 1: he had been doing offense for several years, and now
- 10:46Speaker 1: you're just Dy's got three Super Bowls too? Right now?
- 10:48Speaker 1: You're just bringing in some random guy who's never coached offense.
- 10:51Speaker 1: And maybe he's the guy doing it, maybe it's somebody else.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Maybe it's a guy who was trying to go to
- 10:56Speaker 1: the Raiders. No one knows. Yeah, And if everybody knew,
- 10:59Speaker 1: like you, oh five was that was the year that
- 11:02Speaker 1: Eric Mangini was the defensive coordinator, But he wasn't and
- 11:05Speaker 1: I think Josh was offensive. Everybody wasn't entitled, right, everybody knew.
- 11:10Speaker 1: I think if if I have the years right, right,
- 11:13Speaker 1: you know, forgive me if I'm not in the right year. Yeah. Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 1: but everybody knew who was doing what, right, Yeah. So
- 11:17Speaker 1: I don't think it was a big deal. And I
- 11:19Speaker 1: think the Mac component of it being in his second year,
- 11:21Speaker 1: whereas if mack had just come off his third Super Bowl,
- 11:23Speaker 1: he'd be like, I don't know who cares about Josh mcdank, Like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you, I'd still be concerned
- 11:28Speaker 1: about it, but not nearly as much because I would say, well,
- 11:31Speaker 1: Mac is the offensive coordinator, like we said at the time,
- 11:34Speaker 1: Tom's the offensive coordinator. Yeah. Yeah, So I just was wondering,
- 11:38Speaker 1: But I mean I'm not diminishing it, like I said,
- 11:41Speaker 1: it's it's I thought Patricia was more involved with Mac
- 11:44Speaker 1: yesterday than he was last week. It seemed more like
- 11:46Speaker 1: he was in the brain trust a little bit in
- 11:48Speaker 1: the and the and I think that might just be circumstantial,
- 11:51Speaker 1: because I think they did a lot of running game
- 11:53Speaker 1: stuff yesterday and it might have had more to do
- 11:55Speaker 1: with the offensive line. Did you think, I mean, like,
- 11:58Speaker 1: did you guys think did be watching any am I
- 12:00Speaker 1: the only one that's felt more run game oriented? Well
- 12:02Speaker 1: that Patricia. It seemed like it was Judge in Bill
- 12:07Speaker 1: last week. It was Patricia and Bill. I thought, well,
- 12:10Speaker 1: back this week and Bill continues to be offense. Yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 1: he's with the offense all the time. Yeah, it was.
- 12:17Speaker 1: It was good though. We were close. I mean, Paul
- 12:19Speaker 1: and Andy staked out a good spot, Like I don't
- 12:21Speaker 1: know why everyone didn't go to where the quarterbacks and
- 12:23Speaker 1: the skill players are. I just set up shop on
- 12:27Speaker 1: the initial one, which is usually where all the special
- 12:29Speaker 1: teams in defense is going. I thought Mike was avoiding.
- 12:32Speaker 1: It was very, very hurt. I didn't know where you
- 12:34Speaker 1: guys have gone because we were walking out but um, yeah,
- 12:36Speaker 1: we were walking out right in front of Bill too,
- 12:38Speaker 1: So I had I ducked into here to to take
- 12:40Speaker 1: a quick bathroom break before we went out. Bill was
- 12:43Speaker 1: right the whole time, but I knew he was there,
- 12:46Speaker 1: so I had no you know, that's the normally the
- 12:48Speaker 1: time what Paul says something stupid, right kind of that's
- 12:51Speaker 1: a long period of time. But I knew he was
- 12:54Speaker 1: behind me the whole time, so I was on my
- 12:55Speaker 1: best behavior. Yeah, that's that's awkward. Yeah, yeah, it's funny.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Who So we heard from Jonathan Jones yesterday. I can
- 13:02Speaker 1: take it an elevator ride in a situation like I
- 13:04Speaker 1: did an three It says cold, strange, He cracks me up.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It just seems like such an awe shucks, Like I
- 13:11Speaker 1: just can't believe I'm here playing for the Patriots, right,
- 13:15Speaker 1: anybody else? So great? I think a nice guy, but
- 13:18Speaker 1: it's just so nice. When I did what I want
- 13:20Speaker 1: to interview with him, he started off with yes, ma'am,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and I'm like, ma'am, wow, Like this is something very
- 13:26Speaker 1: I mean, he definitely feels like an offensive lineman. Just
- 13:29Speaker 1: he's probably older, but he but he just has this
- 13:34Speaker 1: like quiet, soft spoken way about him. It's just you know,
- 13:37Speaker 1: it's very like you just forget like, I'm like, you're
- 13:39Speaker 1: gonna go out there and deal with Like Van was
- 13:41Speaker 1: the same point. Well, like when you talk to Logan,
- 13:44Speaker 1: he was, you know, soft spoken, quiet, very quick. Then
- 13:47Speaker 1: he gets out there and he got that look though,
- 13:49Speaker 1: like that look he just looks like a mall. He
- 13:52Speaker 1: looked like you could kill you at anytime. Fred's right,
- 13:55Speaker 1: he was very understated. Yeah, cold, strange. It's like the
- 13:58Speaker 1: way he's described is very different than like you talking
- 14:02Speaker 1: to him like after practice. Yeah. I mean he's right
- 14:07Speaker 1: in there too, I mean right in left guard. That's
- 14:09Speaker 1: where he's been. Well, I think that's a good transition
- 14:12Speaker 1: then to what you were wanted to talk about with Win. Well,
- 14:16Speaker 1: and I don't know that this, you know, there's anything
- 14:18Speaker 1: to this. And I like to stress that these are
- 14:21Speaker 1: not only voluntary, which means, you know, that's not necessarily
- 14:25Speaker 1: a big deal for anybody not being there. But we
- 14:27Speaker 1: also don't know if they actually are here, and we
- 14:30Speaker 1: just don't see them, right. That's why I never say
- 14:32Speaker 1: that they skipped OTAs. I always say they weren't spotted
- 14:35Speaker 1: on the field because I didn't see them all. I
- 14:37Speaker 1: didn't see Isaiah win last week or this week for
- 14:40Speaker 1: all I know, he hasn't been there at all, right,
- 14:42Speaker 1: Nikkil Harry told us he wasn't coming, so that's a
- 14:45Speaker 1: little easy. He tweets out pictures of him somewhere else,
- 14:48Speaker 1: so that's what I'm saying. But by doing that, he
- 14:50Speaker 1: told us that he wasn't coming, I'm going to assume
- 14:54Speaker 1: that Win is not here for the purpose of this conversation.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Do you think there's any chance that he might not
- 15:00Speaker 1: be part of the team in in twenty two I
- 15:03Speaker 1: mean holding out? No, because I don't think there's any
- 15:05Speaker 1: reason for him to hold out. He's making almost eleven
- 15:07Speaker 1: million dollars. I don't see, well he wants an extension. Yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 1: well yeah, so do I No, I know, I'm just
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm just wondering. Yeah, I just I'm wondering. And I
- 15:18Speaker 1: heard this a little bit, heard some rumblings of guys
- 15:20Speaker 1: talking yesterday on the radio about this um And when
- 15:26Speaker 1: I hear that, so I immediately think of the cartel.
- 15:29Speaker 1: So you're thinking, like somehow the team said, look, we're
- 15:32Speaker 1: looking to move you, and he's like, Okay, well I'm
- 15:35Speaker 1: not gonna be disgruntled or yeah, or just maybe the
- 15:39Speaker 1: team's like, don't show up, don't get hurt. Could be
- 15:42Speaker 1: you know, could be that. It could be the other
- 15:45Speaker 1: way of that he hasn't been around, or maybe he's
- 15:49Speaker 1: not physically ready to be around, because I forget what
- 15:51Speaker 1: the injury was that kept him off the field late
- 15:53Speaker 1: last season, Mike, do you remember I was in a
- 15:55Speaker 1: foot or not or somebody for whatever reason, maybe he's
- 16:00Speaker 1: not healthy enough to be on the field. And because
- 16:02Speaker 1: of that, Bill was like, yeah, yeah, you know, it's time,
- 16:06Speaker 1: it's time to move on. They are a little tight.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I heard um Gresh was talking about this on your station,
- 16:11Speaker 1: fred Ei Um saying that you know they're, you know,
- 16:16Speaker 1: the the cap fantasy. You know, they're tied up against
- 16:20Speaker 1: the cap and they could use the space, and you know,
- 16:22Speaker 1: he's making ten and I think it's like ten point
- 16:25Speaker 1: four or something like that, Um, and you'd save that
- 16:28Speaker 1: on the cap, which is always a flawed way of
- 16:30Speaker 1: looking at it because you have to replace the guy,
- 16:32Speaker 1: right Um. But anyway, I don't think it's completely impossible
- 16:39Speaker 1: for them to say we're going to trade this guy
- 16:43Speaker 1: at some point in the coming weeks or months and
- 16:47Speaker 1: go with say Trent Brown and and Justin Haran. The
- 16:51Speaker 1: fact that Haran stayed on the right side, and my
- 16:53Speaker 1: boy Felger made this point yesterday on my show. Um
- 16:58Speaker 1: thanks to that that was intended for a laugh. The
- 17:03Speaker 1: fact that that Haran stayed on the right side may
- 17:07Speaker 1: or may not have relevance. But he's sort of been
- 17:09Speaker 1: a guy. I think Reese talked about this on ESPN two.
- 17:11Speaker 1: He's sort of been a guy that's been the swing
- 17:13Speaker 1: tack and I think it's interesting with both Brown and
- 17:17Speaker 1: Win not there, he stayed at the right side, So
- 17:20Speaker 1: I wonder if they're planning on Trent Brown being the
- 17:22Speaker 1: left tackle anyway. Yeah, I think it's certainly possible. I
- 17:26Speaker 1: think if I had to guess though, now, I would
- 17:28Speaker 1: say he's just not coming right now. And you know
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's if it was an injury, I would say that.
- 17:34Speaker 1: But these are the little things that you know when
- 17:36Speaker 1: you're thinking about your your prospects for the season. Of course,
- 17:41Speaker 1: you know you kind of penior deal you got, you
- 17:43Speaker 1: gotta have left, you know, regardless of his injury situation.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You Pencyliman the left, you PENSYLI Trent browner right, and
- 17:49Speaker 1: now all of a sudden, you start training camp in
- 17:51Speaker 1: August and he's not there now. It's like, but even
- 17:55Speaker 1: think about like Sony Michelle last year, right, you know,
- 17:58Speaker 1: and you sort of looked at and said, well, it's
- 18:00Speaker 1: the last year of his deal, probably not going to
- 18:02Speaker 1: get extended. You have a young guy and Stevenson. Maybe
- 18:07Speaker 1: I think that you know, I don't know who the
- 18:09Speaker 1: young guy is that's ready to replace him. But if
- 18:12Speaker 1: he's not going to be available for more than half
- 18:14Speaker 1: the games, which has kind of been his m oh yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: then maybe Bill looks at us like, well, what are
- 18:18Speaker 1: we doing anyway? I mean, if you can't count on him,
- 18:21Speaker 1: you can't rely on him, and you know, his whole
- 18:23Speaker 1: availability is, you know, the best ability. Yeah, I think
- 18:28Speaker 1: they'll move forward with him. But I mean, I agree
- 18:30Speaker 1: with everything you guys are saying in terms of win
- 18:32Speaker 1: needing a great year. Is anybody who ever looked bore
- 18:35Speaker 1: out of place on the beach, then Paul find bomb
- 18:38Speaker 1: looks nice though. I'd love to be at that beach.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I would love to be a fly on the wall
- 18:44Speaker 1: for being if possible. There will be cameras there, right,
- 18:51Speaker 1: I would imagine, Yeah, I would imagine because that everyone's
- 18:54Speaker 1: like you see Nick yesterday, that's like waiting for Belichick
- 18:57Speaker 1: and Parcels to come to the middle of the field
- 19:00Speaker 1: after that game that Saban yesterday tried to come up
- 19:03Speaker 1: with that, I never said that he did anybody did
- 19:05Speaker 1: anything wrong? Oh please. And then he also tried to
- 19:08Speaker 1: talk about how much Alabama players are like making in
- 19:10Speaker 1: the league right now, and I'm like, okay, but like
- 19:12Speaker 1: why are we talking about that? Like he's just I
- 19:15Speaker 1: just can't wait to do this plays out. I'm gonna
- 19:17Speaker 1: defense Saban a little bit. He didn't say that Fisher
- 19:22Speaker 1: or an m broke any rules. He just said that
- 19:25Speaker 1: what they're doing is dangerous because of what it can
- 19:28Speaker 1: But he's implying that he's not getting those guys. He
- 19:31Speaker 1: didn't get those guys this time because someone out bid him,
- 19:34Speaker 1: that's the implication. But that's but there's nothing wrong with
- 19:37Speaker 1: that in today's environment. That's his problem. But I also
- 19:40Speaker 1: that's his problem now that other people have a bigger
- 19:42Speaker 1: budget than he does. You can make that case, but
- 19:44Speaker 1: I also think it like opens up a cannon worms
- 19:46Speaker 1: for people to go digging into, like how he was
- 19:49Speaker 1: able to get Oh yeah, well, that's what Fisher is
- 19:51Speaker 1: saying is let's look at his past when it wasn't legal. Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: when it was, I think that they bought and paid
- 20:00Speaker 1: for all their players and it wasn't necessarily on the
- 20:03Speaker 1: up and up. Well, I think that was the clear inference.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I don't think so, but definitely. But he didn't say
- 20:10Speaker 1: it wasn't an inference. He said they bought their players
- 20:13Speaker 1: using this new nil and the collective model. But the
- 20:18Speaker 1: wind thing get back to back to that this. I
- 20:23Speaker 1: don't know if there's anything to it. I mean, for
- 20:25Speaker 1: all I know, he's just not quite one hundred percent.
- 20:28Speaker 1: We'll see him next week at mini camp when he
- 20:30Speaker 1: when he has to be here. But I just I
- 20:33Speaker 1: wonder when people start talking about it. I automatically think
- 20:38Speaker 1: there's whispers with some of the you know, the McBride's,
- 20:43Speaker 1: the Reeses, the Phil Perry's, those kinds of guys. I
- 20:46Speaker 1: don't think that they generally start throwing stuff around without reason. Yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 1: so I want whenever I hear some some stuff like that,
- 20:56Speaker 1: I stepped back and I'm like, h I mean, didn't
- 20:58Speaker 1: really think that was a possibility, but maybe it is.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I mean, somehow he's been a little bit under the radar.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I think just because of Sony and nikkiel like those
- 21:04Speaker 1: other two first round picks that have kind of flamed
- 21:06Speaker 1: out or haven't. I mean, he's as close as times
- 21:10Speaker 1: still working out, but it's still it hasn't been consistent.
- 21:12Speaker 1: He hasn't been reliable in some of the biggest moments
- 21:15Speaker 1: when you need him, he hasn't been able to go. So,
- 21:18Speaker 1: you know, I just it's the offensive line thing that
- 21:20Speaker 1: drives me crazy. Sony's a running back. You can see
- 21:23Speaker 1: his production. Harry's a wide receiver, you can see his production.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Nobody can tell me what Isaiah Winn has played when
- 21:29Speaker 1: he's actually played right, No, there's I mean, we're not experts,
- 21:34Speaker 1: we're not offensive. So everybody says, well, when he plays
- 21:41Speaker 1: he's fine, is he Yeah? I don't know, Like I'm
- 21:44Speaker 1: not telling you he's not, but I'm telling you he's
- 21:45Speaker 1: not overly highly rated. Um, you know in terms of
- 21:49Speaker 1: you know, All Pros and Pro Bowls. It's not in
- 21:52Speaker 1: those conversations like Shack Mason, is he gets all He
- 21:56Speaker 1: got it all Pro votes last year he was the
- 21:58Speaker 1: second team All Pro. Right, So people are telling me
- 22:02Speaker 1: that he's at a higher But I don't think there's
- 22:05Speaker 1: a huge difference between first round bust potential between when
- 22:08Speaker 1: and those other two that Mike is talking about. Yeah,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I think that gets to the heart of it two Paul,
- 22:12Speaker 1: because it's how much do they really like him? You
- 22:14Speaker 1: know if they say, well, when he's on the field,
- 22:17Speaker 1: it's just so athletic, like the what we can do
- 22:20Speaker 1: with him, you know, like do they have that perspectively? Like,
- 22:22Speaker 1: I mean, he's been again, we'dn't been fine when he's available.
- 22:25Speaker 1: We would upgrade him if we could, but they haven't
- 22:26Speaker 1: really made anything. And I think that's the right way
- 22:28Speaker 1: to put it. I think he has been fine. Well,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I don't think he's been a disaster. Here's my thing
- 22:32Speaker 1: with him. We don't know the assignments on every play,
- 22:35Speaker 1: the blocking assignments. But what I do see is, like
- 22:38Speaker 1: you know, on some running plays where he's supposed to
- 22:40Speaker 1: get out of his stance and get out there, he
- 22:42Speaker 1: does it well. Like he looks like an athlete, you know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: So you see the potential, You see the athletic potential
- 22:49Speaker 1: in him. Now, he could be doing the absolute wrong
- 22:52Speaker 1: thing on that play. I don't know, but I see
- 22:54Speaker 1: the athleticism. No, But yeah, you're you're evaluating something that's different, right,
- 22:58Speaker 1: wrong or in different he gets out of his stance quickly,
- 23:01Speaker 1: love swell for a guy his size. But I think
- 23:04Speaker 1: that's like, like if I was an offensive linely, okay,
- 23:06Speaker 1: I can work with that, you know. And that's the
- 23:09Speaker 1: time that he was facing the wrong way last year
- 23:10Speaker 1: or knocked over the back in the back right, so
- 23:12Speaker 1: that's whole but you know, but even then that's you
- 23:18Speaker 1: don't know if that's his fault, you know, like you
- 23:19Speaker 1: don't know that's the offensive line's not supposed to be
- 23:22Speaker 1: looking the wrong way. Well, Fred, are you the type
- 23:26Speaker 1: to see the good and everybody? Yes? No, but but yes, yes,
- 23:29Speaker 1: what I am. What I am saying is these people
- 23:32Speaker 1: that think they know what's supposed to happen on every play, don't, right,
- 23:36Speaker 1: you don't you really you know. That's why these coaches
- 23:39Speaker 1: get frustrated with us, because it's fair. We don't know
- 23:41Speaker 1: the assignment. Yeah yeah, but at the end of the day,
- 23:44Speaker 1: it's all about how many games did you dress, you know,
- 23:46Speaker 1: in the biggest games of the year, were you there? Well,
- 23:48Speaker 1: that's able to play, and that's you know, and that's
- 23:50Speaker 1: something that that we do know. And that's been a
- 23:52Speaker 1: recurring issue for him over these first few years. I
- 23:55Speaker 1: just know if I were in his position that I'd
- 23:57Speaker 1: want to be here. You need to have the best
- 23:59Speaker 1: year of your life. You're a left tackle. If you
- 24:00Speaker 1: have an awesome year this year, you play all seventeen
- 24:03Speaker 1: games in playoffs, and you know, finally live up to
- 24:05Speaker 1: this kind of first round potential, you're gonna get paid
- 24:07Speaker 1: next With Mike if he's really looking for this is
- 24:10Speaker 1: why I don't think it's contract related at all. But
- 24:12Speaker 1: if he's really looking for a contract, how can you
- 24:16Speaker 1: make an argument that this is in his best interest?
- 24:19Speaker 1: Because Mike is right, he needs to get on the field,
- 24:22Speaker 1: show the rest of the league that he can practice
- 24:24Speaker 1: every day in the spring, be ready to practice every
- 24:27Speaker 1: day in the summer, and then be ready to play
- 24:29Speaker 1: in the games. That's what his goal. His goal shouldn't
- 24:32Speaker 1: be I need to come back to play for the Patriots.
- 24:34Speaker 1: His goal should be I need to put myself in
- 24:36Speaker 1: the best position for unrestricted free agency, which is coming
- 24:40Speaker 1: up at the end of this year. And plus the
- 24:42Speaker 1: other teams even see him as a left tackle given
- 24:44Speaker 1: his size, Like I know, the Patriots are willing to
- 24:46Speaker 1: make that adjustment to their offense and play somebody who's
- 24:49Speaker 1: a little bit undersized out there, but still everybody here
- 24:51Speaker 1: wants to move him to guard. Do you think other
- 24:53Speaker 1: NFL teams are looking at him and saying, well, yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 1: he's not really reliable, but we think he's a left tackle,
- 24:59Speaker 1: like he doesn't fit the size profile at all. So
- 25:01Speaker 1: I think that's another layer two it of him of
- 25:03Speaker 1: trying to just do you think at any point, whether
- 25:07Speaker 1: it's starting with this mini camp and through training camp,
- 25:09Speaker 1: we'll see them try out cold strange at a tackle
- 25:14Speaker 1: because at left tackle, I'm gonna say no. I'm gonna
- 25:17Speaker 1: say no. I think he just goes left guard and
- 25:20Speaker 1: there he is, and that's where he'll stay. Okay, Um,
- 25:23Speaker 1: don't overwhelm him, just let him do what he I
- 25:25Speaker 1: wouldn't rule it out. I wouldn't rule it out either
- 25:28Speaker 1: because I think he's he I mean, he looks big out.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I wouldn't rule it out only because of injuries, Like
- 25:33Speaker 1: you never know if if if Brown and win and
- 25:36Speaker 1: could just in harun or all hurt. Someone's got to
- 25:38Speaker 1: play tackle, right, But this is a guy who's never
- 25:40Speaker 1: played tackle. I don't think he'll play tackle unless they
- 25:43Speaker 1: absolutely get desperate. I'd like to see him stand next
- 25:46Speaker 1: to this to Win, just to see how just the
- 25:48Speaker 1: size comparison, because he looks he does look big for
- 25:50Speaker 1: a guard. He looks big out there. I think Win
- 25:52Speaker 1: looks like yeah, And I thought Strange looked a little
- 25:56Speaker 1: thin yesterday for an offense, like usually the offensive lineman.
- 26:00Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, maybe I'm not throwing any stones here
- 26:02Speaker 1: with my belly. They look they look big. Think I
- 26:05Speaker 1: didn't think he looked that big. I should adjust my
- 26:07Speaker 1: comments because I think, Michael and when you that's like
- 26:10Speaker 1: tank big, you know, I guess just tall, like just tall,
- 26:13Speaker 1: has like a leaner build coal Strange I thought more
- 26:16Speaker 1: of a tackle. I agree, Yeah, I agree with you.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I think he looks like a tackle when you see him.
- 26:21Speaker 1: But I just don't think he's ever really played it.
- 26:23Speaker 1: So again, i'd never say never with these kinds of things,
- 26:27Speaker 1: but I would be surprised. Speaking of size, What did
- 26:31Speaker 1: you all think of the question that Thornton got about
- 26:34Speaker 1: um gaining weight and how there's no specific goal for
- 26:38Speaker 1: him gaining weight. I think there probably is a goal. Yeah,
- 26:41Speaker 1: it's probably not. You're gonna get mad at me. You
- 26:44Speaker 1: don't think there's a goal? No, No, I do, But
- 26:46Speaker 1: I think it's a problem I used too late. I
- 26:50Speaker 1: think he's I think it's been a problem for him
- 26:52Speaker 1: his whole life putting on good weight. And I think
- 26:56Speaker 1: there is a chance, Like I think someone specifically asked
- 26:58Speaker 1: him if his speed yes, and he was like, well,
- 27:02Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily looking to get bigger, just stronger. I
- 27:06Speaker 1: think that was his answer. Yeah, right. Um. First of all, again,
- 27:11Speaker 1: I want to repeat, I was really impressed with him.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I thought he came across really comfortable, good, you know, like,
- 27:16Speaker 1: I thought he showed some personality. You know, rookies don't
- 27:19Speaker 1: generally do that. I thought he came across really well. Um.
- 27:23Speaker 1: But I wonder if that is an issue with him.
- 27:25Speaker 1: He's a small guy. He's small, like really small. Forget
- 27:29Speaker 1: the risks, he's small in general. But I wonder how
- 27:31Speaker 1: that ties into his usage. And you know, is he
- 27:34Speaker 1: gonna be coming over the middle really? Is he gonna
- 27:36Speaker 1: have to worry about taking multiple hits or is it
- 27:37Speaker 1: mostly gonna be downfield stuff where they're grabbing his ankles
- 27:41Speaker 1: or you know, like like that would be that would
- 27:44Speaker 1: be my guest. But I think he needs just good
- 27:46Speaker 1: weight just to deal with the season. Good. Well, you
- 27:48Speaker 1: know that. That's kind of like I stepped away, and
- 27:50Speaker 1: I was like, I wonder if that's been an issue
- 27:53Speaker 1: for him. I getting you to take away some of
- 27:57Speaker 1: his going through you have trouble gaining weight? What's that? Like?
- 28:03Speaker 1: I just I can't gain weight. I can't do anything
- 28:07Speaker 1: staring at me unlike you. I wasn't a fat kid.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I just got fat as an adult. We crossed each other.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Oh my god, he just has like a him metabolism
- 28:18Speaker 1: or something. Oh yeah, Oh my god. I used to
- 28:22Speaker 1: look at him. Oh my gosh. No, I when you
- 28:25Speaker 1: when we think about like the food we ate, like
- 28:28Speaker 1: in high school, you know, and how how much the
- 28:32Speaker 1: same stuff I ate? Now that's the problem. But back
- 28:35Speaker 1: then you were always on the go. Oh my god,
- 28:37Speaker 1: you know so like I would. I mean I would
- 28:39Speaker 1: probably drank three four cokes and I would have a
- 28:42Speaker 1: piece of apple pie in the summer every day, every day,
- 28:45Speaker 1: every day lunch. I would get a piece of apple
- 28:46Speaker 1: pie every day. But but like we would go to
- 28:50Speaker 1: like Burger King and like eating a double beef whopper
- 28:54Speaker 1: with French fries. It was nothing. It was nothing. It's
- 28:58Speaker 1: almost not enough. Like you're like, I need I need
- 29:00Speaker 1: my big mac. I need my fries, but I might
- 29:03Speaker 1: need a chicken sandwich in there. Oh yeah, I think
- 29:08Speaker 1: nothing of that. I think nothing of that. In case
- 29:10Speaker 1: you guys were wondering, five guys, it is considered fine dining.
- 29:19Speaker 1: But I wish I didn't hear him now, so I
- 29:22Speaker 1: want to see how effective here voices funny. You gotta work,
- 29:25Speaker 1: I gotta work on it. Unfortunately, I think this would
- 29:27Speaker 1: be Scouts Department of just nailing a cold, strange impression.
- 29:30Speaker 1: But it's just so wide eyed and just I can't
- 29:33Speaker 1: leave it. If he thinks they have a real five
- 29:36Speaker 1: guys right here on candles, what does he think? I
- 29:40Speaker 1: think that's fine dining. That's too fancy for him. You'd
- 29:43Speaker 1: walk in there and they wouldn't know what to do
- 29:45Speaker 1: with himself. Um, but yeah, five guys, five guys is undefeated.
- 29:49Speaker 1: But me and Paul were always complain about Jersey mikes
- 29:52Speaker 1: and that the regular is two and then the largest four.
- 29:57Speaker 1: So it's like sandwich pieces. The largest too big, even
- 30:00Speaker 1: for me, is too big. But I don't know they
- 30:03Speaker 1: really like if you're just looking for a normal lunch,
- 30:07Speaker 1: they pack it into that small. Yeah, but it's too small.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Pretty good but even I'm with I'm with Paul, and
- 30:11Speaker 1: that's too small. I think we need to go four
- 30:13Speaker 1: and two and then we split it. Split one on them. Okay,
- 30:15Speaker 1: we go three and three. That's a teamwork makes his
- 30:17Speaker 1: remark on that one. But my contention to Marraw is
- 30:20Speaker 1: that when it comes to sandwich franchises, you know, Subway, Caprioti,
- 30:25Speaker 1: I think Jersey Mike's is the best. Oh wow, that's
- 30:29Speaker 1: my I can't argue. That's my contention. It's one over
- 30:32Speaker 1: in the last couple of years. I would say, you're
- 30:37Speaker 1: gonna pull some random no Southern placed firehouse subs considered
- 30:43Speaker 1: random firehouse subs. Firehouse is terrible. It went there. I
- 30:47Speaker 1: ordered an Italian. They put Mayo on it. Okay, how
- 30:50Speaker 1: can you how can you call yourself? You know, if
- 30:53Speaker 1: you go to go to five guys and don't indicate it,
- 30:55Speaker 1: they'll put Mayo on that. I mean, Jersey Mikes. They'll
- 30:57Speaker 1: put Mayo on that if you don't tell them not to.
- 31:00Speaker 1: On the list. An Italian, yes, that's on the list.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Not an Italian, You're out. You're out. Oh my god. Okay.
- 31:05Speaker 1: If I like firehouses, pretty water, an Italian Mike's Way
- 31:09Speaker 1: they don't put MAO on it, I think. But yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 1: but you're ordering to get Mike's way. You just get
- 31:14Speaker 1: it if you just get if you just get a regular,
- 31:16Speaker 1: I think they will okay. So, but I also think
- 31:18Speaker 1: it has to do with you if you like cold
- 31:20Speaker 1: subs or hot subs. So like if you don't like
- 31:25Speaker 1: hot subs or if you don't like cold subs, I
- 31:26Speaker 1: think that's gonna okay. So what do you what's the difference, Like,
- 31:31Speaker 1: who's the hot sub king? It's gonna be a franchise.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Oh sorry, I think Firehouse hot okay. Like I don't
- 31:40Speaker 1: like Jimmy Jones. I'm not a big Jimmy Johnss. Okay,
- 31:43Speaker 1: Jimmy Johns isn't bad, but I like fire Hearts better.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I agree with Samara. Out of my depth, I don't
- 31:47Speaker 1: know either of those places, Like Jimmy Johns. You ever
- 31:50Speaker 1: heard Jimmy Johns? I really heard of it. How about Quiznos?
- 31:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Quiznos. That's the they're like the og of
- 31:57Speaker 1: heating them up right? Then they were the original. You'd
- 32:01Speaker 1: like them, Fred because you want to toast it. Have
- 32:03Speaker 1: you ever had blimpies? I've never had these, barely exists.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I've heard about it, but I've never heard. They're hard
- 32:09Speaker 1: to find now, but yeah, they're good. Used to just
- 32:12Speaker 1: be Subway. Okay, wait, this one's southern. This is suddenly
- 32:15Speaker 1: turning into my favorite show. This is southern. Not necessarily
- 32:19Speaker 1: a sandwich shot, but public subs like pub subs. I've
- 32:23Speaker 1: heard that at the supermarket. Yes, I've heard it. Yeah,
- 32:25Speaker 1: I've heard, yes that they're very very good. They're very good.
- 32:28Speaker 1: They use boars head meat, yes, they do, and boar's
- 32:31Speaker 1: head is my favorite, so like that that's probably why. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:35Speaker 1: well would you not talk about the Patriots? Sorry' angelo
- 32:39Speaker 1: flunchtime we did? Angelos doesn't compare, all right? Five five
- 32:44Speaker 1: hundred is the a Stickett line web anybody calls it
- 32:46Speaker 1: and says, Subway you're no longer a webs. I like
- 32:48Speaker 1: Subway always good every now I disagree, worst ever, worst
- 32:54Speaker 1: franchise of all time. I mean they're not bad. They're
- 32:58Speaker 1: not bad. I think if I had to eat it, yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 1: eat it, but like it's not my first choice. Yeah.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Like when you say you had to eat it, you're
- 33:06Speaker 1: talking about like to survive. I think you're like in
- 33:10Speaker 1: Ukraine and Subway, you know, if your potential in a
- 33:13Speaker 1: road trip and you've gone like so many exits and
- 33:16Speaker 1: really just can't find anything at it's that I couldn't
- 33:18Speaker 1: do it. I couldn't do it, Like I'm talking literal
- 33:21Speaker 1: survival only that's the only way I would eat subway,
- 33:25Speaker 1: So he would. You must have had some bad experiences there. Yeah,
- 33:29Speaker 1: I had it once and it was the worst thing
- 33:30Speaker 1: I've ever tasted. Okay, so see the problem with a
- 33:33Speaker 1: lot of these is who's running it. Like if the
- 33:36Speaker 1: people running it aren't good, Like if you go to
- 33:38Speaker 1: a nice, you know, well maintained subway, it's it's decent.
- 33:42Speaker 1: It's not bad franchise. Yeah, I just don't think the
- 33:45Speaker 1: food's good. I'm not like telling you what kind of
- 33:49Speaker 1: cleanliness it has or anything like that. I didn't say
- 33:52Speaker 1: that they were like in violation of the Health Code.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I also like when they like when the meat isn't
- 33:57Speaker 1: already like like in the in the station, cut and
- 34:05Speaker 1: cut the meat. Why that's why that's why you need
- 34:07Speaker 1: the app that Mike taught me all about. Because you know,
- 34:09Speaker 1: I don't got to put it in early. That line
- 34:11Speaker 1: gets long. You gonna put it in early because you'll
- 34:12Speaker 1: be waiting forever. They're cutting every every order. Yeah, all right,
- 34:16Speaker 1: eight five five sandwich top line web radio at pictures
- 34:19Speaker 1: dot com is the email address. Let's get to the
- 34:22Speaker 1: phone see what people were saying. We'll start with Dan
- 34:25Speaker 1: in Virginia and Michigan. What's up? Dan? Subway is the
- 34:30Speaker 1: McDonald's equivalent of the sub shops? Like I like McDonald's.
- 34:35Speaker 1: That's not true, Chris. There's almost all of the fast
- 34:39Speaker 1: food burger joints or worse than McDonald's. Wait, well I
- 34:42Speaker 1: don't like that. Well, I'm not sure about Wendy's is
- 34:46Speaker 1: better than McDonald Okay, what's your favorite fast food Okay,
- 34:49Speaker 1: not including five guys, Well, what's your favorite fast food burger?
- 34:52Speaker 1: Then probably Wendy's if it was just like strict fast
- 34:57Speaker 1: food Wendy's, Dave's Classic Double. You have to be specific. Well,
- 35:03Speaker 1: the old big Bacon classic was was like, is it
- 35:06Speaker 1: the quarter pounds or the big Mac? Big man? I'm
- 35:08Speaker 1: a big man, like I happened. I happen to think
- 35:11Speaker 1: in terms of burgers, the best fast food burger ever
- 35:14Speaker 1: made is the is the whopper? Yeah, I've never had
- 35:18Speaker 1: a whopper or a big Mac. Really, I'm not hopefully surprised.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I haven't lived because she's young enough that when she
- 35:25Speaker 1: was growing up, she already knew that that wasn't good
- 35:27Speaker 1: for Oh yeah, we didn't know anywhere. No it's not good,
- 35:30Speaker 1: but I eat it anything. But this is my point.
- 35:32Speaker 1: It's like communions food. When you already started, it's kind
- 35:37Speaker 1: of hard to stop, right. But yeah, I'm sure Tamara
- 35:40Speaker 1: was fully understanding of the lack of nutritional we like
- 35:44Speaker 1: supersize me was like that thing, right. Yeah, we didn't
- 35:47Speaker 1: intentionally try to scare kids McDonalds, but get a reaction
- 35:53Speaker 1: like we would. Saw McDonald's every hockey practice, every hockey
- 35:55Speaker 1: you're going through the drive through McDonald's, you're getting I mean,
- 35:58Speaker 1: it was just a staple, and I don't know. There
- 36:00Speaker 1: was a certain point. I think I was hungover. I
- 36:03Speaker 1: had to get on a plane. I'm like, I'm gonna
- 36:04Speaker 1: just stop at McDonald's get a couple of egg sandwiches.
- 36:06Speaker 1: They were like the ones with the h the pancakes,
- 36:09Speaker 1: like in between the pancakes, like one of those. I'm like,
- 36:11Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I had had I think I had
- 36:14Speaker 1: been drinking cheap vodka the night before. I was in
- 36:17Speaker 1: a bad place. I think I was actually still probably
- 36:19Speaker 1: drunk as I was getting on the plane, but I
- 36:21Speaker 1: had those two sandwiches and I wanted it. Just put
- 36:24Speaker 1: me over the edge. I want it. And I've never
- 36:26Speaker 1: looked at McDonald's the same way. Granted I was hung over,
- 36:29Speaker 1: probably drinking terrible vodka, but oh my god. Since then,
- 36:32Speaker 1: it's just it's every now and then the fries that
- 36:35Speaker 1: still gets me. I still like the fries, Yeah, tremendous,
- 36:39Speaker 1: but but I haven't been there in a long time. See.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I like them all, Yeah, I really do. I think
- 36:44Speaker 1: they all have their good points, you know. Yeah, and
- 36:47Speaker 1: Burger King, I still always like their they're chicken tenders.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Those are always good. I would agree with Fred that
- 36:53Speaker 1: if I'm going to have something from Burger King, would
- 36:55Speaker 1: be the whopper. I think that's probably the best. But
- 36:58Speaker 1: it's not. Fries aren't good. I don't think like chicken
- 37:01Speaker 1: nuggets at McDonalds are better than you. Yeah. Yeah, And
- 37:06Speaker 1: poor Dan in Virginia and Michigan completely what. I'm fine.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I'm concerned about the guy who emailed in a few
- 37:14Speaker 1: weeks ago and said you needed to talk about football
- 37:16Speaker 1: and nothing else. We took we took that one to heart.
- 37:20Speaker 1: We tried. Um, I got a I got an answer
- 37:24Speaker 1: on a question Fred was asking last week about what
- 37:27Speaker 1: we would like to see in terms of content. Um.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Eric Slash show revealed something that I never knew I
- 37:34Speaker 1: always wanted. Fred was talking about hunting poaches in Africa,
- 37:38Speaker 1: and Eric said he would be all in, we need
- 37:40Speaker 1: to make this a movie. We need to, you know,
- 37:42Speaker 1: send Fred and Eric over there and film the whole thing.
- 37:45Speaker 1: It would be spies like us in the desert. It
- 37:47Speaker 1: would be like an odd couple comedy, but also at
- 37:50Speaker 1: the same time a double fish out of water comedy
- 37:52Speaker 1: because it's Fred in Africa and it's Eric the vegetarian
- 37:56Speaker 1: hunting people in his paper boy hat and his battle
- 37:58Speaker 1: Waves shirt. That'd be like a running joke of Fred
- 38:02Speaker 1: mispronouncing every single African person, city, dish, whatever they came
- 38:07Speaker 1: across at one point. But Eric, it's on Africa. It's
- 38:10Speaker 1: a good Felix and Oscar I like, you know how
- 38:12Speaker 1: they have the date line where they catch the predators,
- 38:15Speaker 1: the sexual predators, Like you could do the same thing
- 38:18Speaker 1: where you set up these poachers and you catch them
- 38:21Speaker 1: in the act and or just before the act. What
- 38:23Speaker 1: were you about to do to this lion, right right,
- 38:26Speaker 1: and nail on it. I'd love to see Eric. At
- 38:30Speaker 1: one point, Fred and Eric's truck would get stolen because
- 38:32Speaker 1: they're at the gas station and Fred wants to pay
- 38:34Speaker 1: at the pump, and that would work. I want to
- 38:37Speaker 1: steal in the car and ultimately we see Eric's revenge
- 38:41Speaker 1: because Fred's the boss teammate Eric Pack the supplies to
- 38:44Speaker 1: the groundwork. Fred is starving in the desert and ask
- 38:47Speaker 1: Eric for food, but old that Eric is Pack is
- 38:49Speaker 1: watching McCall. It's right, So would you kill him on
- 38:52Speaker 1: a road trip? Yes, yeah, I think so too. Yeah.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I picture Eric being like, you're not the boss of
- 38:57Speaker 1: me anymore. You're not the boss. Acts like one of
- 39:00Speaker 1: those Buddy films where they're yeah, yeah, call it something
- 39:05Speaker 1: like Watermarks and wild Men. Oh okay, you're given them
- 39:08Speaker 1: some thought, hid, Yeah, a little bit too much treatment. Yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 1: let's say I was recently between contracts and had a
- 39:16Speaker 1: little bit more time on my hand. But with regards
- 39:20Speaker 1: to the question, the reason, you know, we recently had
- 39:23Speaker 1: the Patriots all the same vote, and I've got no
- 39:25Speaker 1: problem with those players being nominated and will Fork getting
- 39:27Speaker 1: the nod? The guy has so many of my favorite highlights,
- 39:31Speaker 1: particularly for a defensive lineman. But what has to happen
- 39:35Speaker 1: to get Chuck Fairbanks and the Patriots all the same?
- 39:38Speaker 1: I know that there are fans who think he walked
- 39:41Speaker 1: out on the theme and viewing poorly for that reason,
- 39:43Speaker 1: but I would think that those on the committee would
- 39:45Speaker 1: have a better understanding of what actually happened in that
- 39:48Speaker 1: situation and how the Sullivan's undermined what he was doing
- 39:52Speaker 1: in his relationship with the players. I know you guys
- 39:54Speaker 1: don't like talking about the intermachinations of the committee, but
- 39:59Speaker 1: what exactly the something stay thanks from from getting to
- 40:02Speaker 1: the voting. I think at this point it would have
- 40:03Speaker 1: to be the Veteran Committee, um, you know, to bring
- 40:06Speaker 1: him up. I mean, he's been a finalist multiple times
- 40:10Speaker 1: and the fans don't vote him, and he's been nominated
- 40:14Speaker 1: I think pretty much every year he's been one of
- 40:17Speaker 1: the nominees. At the meeting, right, Fred and we talked about, Yeah,
- 40:21Speaker 1: can you remember him not even being discussed? I agree
- 40:23Speaker 1: with Fred. I think if he's gonna get in, it's
- 40:25Speaker 1: probably going to be through the Veterans Committee at some point.
- 40:27Speaker 1: But there's no doubt that you know, he was the
- 40:29Speaker 1: coach of the team when they had he belongs. Yeah,
- 40:32Speaker 1: they were a good team and his uh, you know
- 40:36Speaker 1: drafting was really good. Besides the coach, you know, he
- 40:38Speaker 1: was a good he was a good coach. Yeah. We
- 40:40Speaker 1: talked about the schemes that that he kind of invented
- 40:42Speaker 1: there still you know what they use here now, and
- 40:46Speaker 1: and Ernie's pats from the past. He talked a lot
- 40:49Speaker 1: about those seventies Patriots teams, Chucks Fairbanks, what he was
- 40:51Speaker 1: doing early in the league with those teams. And I
- 40:54Speaker 1: mean those were some forgotten teams. But you know he's
- 40:57Speaker 1: at the only coaching talent he found either. Right. But
- 41:01Speaker 1: I just think we you know, I know, the horses
- 41:04Speaker 1: out of the barn, but we just lower the bar
- 41:06Speaker 1: too much. Yeah, you know, it's just that had any
- 41:10Speaker 1: semblance of success, you know. Put him in the Hall
- 41:13Speaker 1: of Fame. Yeah, Well, you've got so many guys. I
- 41:16Speaker 1: think they let too many people in, but I think
- 41:18Speaker 1: they Banks is one of those that should be in. Okay,
- 41:21Speaker 1: Well then Bill Park, you know there's any question about
- 41:25Speaker 1: that except for you and I. Except for you and
- 41:27Speaker 1: Brian Morey, Well, I have a question about that. You know.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I think it's more about just the abilities of a coach,
- 41:33Speaker 1: more about than just transforming a franchise. Oh okay, he did.
- 41:38Speaker 1: He transformed. Gave you legitimacy that we didn't have. Believe me,
- 41:42Speaker 1: I was here, all right, all right, thanks Dan, appreciate it. Uh,
- 41:47Speaker 1: let's go to Mike in New York. What's up, Mike?
- 41:50Speaker 1: Not there, Mike? How about Patty and agawam? Hey Patty?
- 41:54Speaker 1: Hey guys, what's going on? Hey? Hey, so Mike, you
- 41:59Speaker 1: just made me laugh about twenty minutes ago when you
- 42:01Speaker 1: were talking about getting, you know, grabbing a sandwich from
- 42:05Speaker 1: a fast food joint and saying, you know, this isn't enough.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I might need a chicken sandwich, because I was kind
- 42:10Speaker 1: of the same way to, like, especially in my early twenties,
- 42:13Speaker 1: when I would when I was hung over. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 42:16Speaker 1: everything looks good. Yeah, you know, big mac and porter
- 42:19Speaker 1: pineut with cheese with a large fry without even you know,
- 42:21Speaker 1: you're looking at that board, whether you're driving, It's like
- 42:24Speaker 1: being in the supermarket when you're hungry. It's like, I
- 42:27Speaker 1: want it all you got the big tomaro wants to
- 42:29Speaker 1: be my friend anymore? No, But I will say, like
- 42:31Speaker 1: when Wendy's came out with a four for four, I
- 42:35Speaker 1: probably didn't finish, but like I liked how you can
- 42:39Speaker 1: get the best of both worlds. Like you know how sometimes,
- 42:40Speaker 1: especially if you were to like Chick fil A, you're like,
- 42:43Speaker 1: don't want nuggets? Or do I want a sandwich? Right?
- 42:45Speaker 1: Or when you go to Wendy's McDonald's, do I want
- 42:46Speaker 1: a burger? Do I want nuggets? What do I want?
- 42:48Speaker 1: And so it's kind of like I choose four for four,
- 42:51Speaker 1: that's a that's a good deal. Yeah, except for it's
- 42:54Speaker 1: just like a snack. It's like, you know, it's like
- 42:57Speaker 1: warm out. It's like when you're not when you're not
- 42:59Speaker 1: really hungry, and Will Will say, I'm going to stop
- 43:02Speaker 1: at Wendy's. You want anything, Yeah, I got me a
- 43:04Speaker 1: four or four. It's a appotazing that this guy. Right,
- 43:11Speaker 1: I'm in a town called Guilford, Connecticut, right, and there's
- 43:14Speaker 1: a place out here called Delhi Unlimited and they make
- 43:16Speaker 1: the sandwich called the Cousin Patty. And I had to
- 43:20Speaker 1: go in and and stop and just ask the owner.
- 43:23Speaker 1: I'm like, do you guys listen to Patriots on filtered
- 43:25Speaker 1: or patriots dot com? And He's like, no, how'd you
- 43:29Speaker 1: come up with cousin Patty. He's like, oh, that's that's
- 43:31Speaker 1: the owner's cousin, a right, fair enough, yeah, piece of time,
- 43:36Speaker 1: piece of time, thanks Patty. All right, we got so
- 43:43Speaker 1: dismissive when he no, I don't listen to that. We're
- 43:45Speaker 1: actually going to eat some food now and when we
- 43:48Speaker 1: come back more of what waever we talk about here?

- 55:48Speaker 1: What's Up Mannie manny Chester podcast at one play time
- 55:54Speaker 1: called called mediaco coach. Oh no, no, no, no no.
- 55:59Speaker 1: I did not stop it. Stop it. You're embarrassing yourself.
- 56:05Speaker 1: I just speak today. But anyway, I did not call
- 56:09Speaker 1: Bill a mediocre coach. I'm sorry that it was taken
- 56:12Speaker 1: out of context. That's like Fred said that he doesn't
- 56:15Speaker 1: think that mac Jones is very good. That's not what
- 56:17Speaker 1: he meant. He was. It was something about something different.
- 56:20Speaker 1: I've never thought of Bill as a mediocre coach, and
- 56:22Speaker 1: I've never said that he's a mediocre coach. Sorry, I
- 56:25Speaker 1: might have said. I might have said something like this,
- 56:28Speaker 1: if you want to listen, He's had eight plus years
- 56:31Speaker 1: without Tom Brady as his as his quarterback, and in
- 56:34Speaker 1: those years he's been a mediocre coach. That's what you said,
- 56:37Speaker 1: That's what I said. I remember that mediocre coach then
- 56:42Speaker 1: without Brady, very very important qualifier there, Manny whoa I
- 56:47Speaker 1: think then everybody's a mediocre coach because Tom Brady then
- 56:50Speaker 1: any reads, any reads, not a mediocre coach, a good
- 56:53Speaker 1: point caller. That's another great moment from all right back here.

- 57:16Speaker 1: the shell comer. No more of that stuff. You know,
- 57:19Speaker 1: I didn't even know that there was an impossible Whopper.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, it's possible that that's one of the
- 57:25Speaker 1: first ones I had ever really even heard of. Yeah
- 57:27Speaker 1: it was the Impossible Whopper. Yep, that's true. I'm sure
- 57:31Speaker 1: it wasn't the first, but it was first. Kristen in
- 57:33Speaker 1: Houston says, as far as sandwich chains go, I only
- 57:37Speaker 1: prefer a subway when it comes to meatball subs. If
- 57:39Speaker 1: I want an Italian or something, then I'd go elsewhere.
- 57:42Speaker 1: That being said, I am a fan of subways. New
- 57:45Speaker 1: Protein Bowls makes me feel healthy because it's kind of
- 57:48Speaker 1: like a salad. But there's three times the meat of
- 57:51Speaker 1: a normal salad. Yeah, I hadn't heard about those. Look
- 57:55Speaker 1: into that. They just throw it in a bowl. There's
- 57:58Speaker 1: no bread. Those are big now. Those rice bowls, Yeah,
- 58:02Speaker 1: like you get like a steak and cheese rice bowl,
- 58:04Speaker 1: Like I don't know if you're trying to convince yourself
- 58:06Speaker 1: you're doing something else. I know, well sometimes so like
- 58:09Speaker 1: with some I'm sure you're getting a regular rice bowl
- 58:12Speaker 1: a steak and cheese like Subways, bread is kind of
- 58:15Speaker 1: I mean it's bread is such a sandy like like
- 58:19Speaker 1: that's what makes the sandwich. And I think Jersey Mike's
- 58:21Speaker 1: bread is fine. I think that's more about the cut
- 58:23Speaker 1: and the meat and it tastes fresh. But if you
- 58:25Speaker 1: don't have good bread, then what do you got? It
- 58:28Speaker 1: can ruin your sandwich? Yeah, soggy. You ever go to
- 58:31Speaker 1: with McDonald's and you get like a big mac in
- 58:33Speaker 1: the bunge just crumbles, like, yeah, I've had that. What
- 58:37Speaker 1: about a bad chicken nugget which you know has happened
- 58:44Speaker 1: to me and get get like a mouse head or something.
- 58:47Speaker 1: Oh God, if I had had that, I wouldn't be
- 58:50Speaker 1: here now because I would have sued the hell out
- 58:52Speaker 1: of it. But there's like three shapes too, and I
- 58:53Speaker 1: think I've gotten like I remember when I as a
- 58:55Speaker 1: kid being like it's always that shape, like, well, I
- 58:57Speaker 1: don't know what the shapes are. Ones like a little
- 58:58Speaker 1: once in a while you get a bad a bad nuts.
- 59:02Speaker 1: It's crazy, how like they didn't used to be all
- 59:04Speaker 1: white meat. They used to be like pink meat mixed. Yes, yeah,
- 59:11Speaker 1: the all white meats. When you when okay, you know
- 59:13Speaker 1: how you get buffalo wings? You get wings right, bone
- 59:17Speaker 1: in rings right, and there's time. There's the drumstick part
- 59:21Speaker 1: and then there's the other part, you know, like flats,
- 59:25Speaker 1: what do you call flat? Flat flats? Yeah, I prefer
- 59:27Speaker 1: the flat same I do. I don't like if I
- 59:30Speaker 1: could just get flats and no drumstick, I prefer that.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Some people do, but they charge you like an extra
- 59:35Speaker 1: three dollars or something. Oh yeah, I love them both,
- 59:37Speaker 1: sort of love buffalo wings. You also, where do you
- 59:44Speaker 1: stand on this? People say that boneless chicken wings are
- 59:47Speaker 1: not wings. They're not they're tenders. Yeah, they're tenders or fingers. Yeah,
- 59:52Speaker 1: I like them better and they like tenders and they
- 59:54Speaker 1: taste very good. Yeah. I love work. Let's let's work yeah.
- 59:58Speaker 1: And if like you're out somewhere and you don't want
- 59:59Speaker 1: to be masks and like, you know, having to worry
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: about wet naps and whatnot, Yeah, then you know you
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: consider the kid's table and eat that tenders the same
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: reason like lobster, I don't need to like have a
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: whole production. Just give me the food, let me eat it.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I don't need like a project before I can eat.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: But fred would taste better a tender or a wing.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: A wing if it's done right, because the skin still
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: on it and it's fried, and you know it's all
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: from one check. I think I think the bone gives
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: an extra flavor. I don't know why. It's the fat
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: from the skin, okay, that gives it the flavor. You know,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I like the bone in But I there's there's times that, hey,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: I'm perfectly satisfied with my tenders, right, like when we
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: do it right here, right, because I don't want to
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: be eating wings and making a mess as I'm trying
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: to yell at college but telling me that I call
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Belichick a mediocre coach. You know it's not your face,
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: but it's also all in your fingers, you know, experience.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: So when I eat wings at home. After I'm done,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: I just put my hand out. My dog cleans my finger,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: just hangs his hand off. You fat bastard. You can't
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: even drop them. Wash your own immediately. Yeah, watch a TV.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: You let the dog do the work. Oh my god,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: not yet, not yet, kid, I'm still working. You know,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: he likes it. You know when went for both of
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: the spicy forms, that could him a little stright, right.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I have a break in our food conversation to this.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Actually thought about this when we were eating. But um,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: the question Bill got yesterday about um Dante Higtower coming back,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: like would you welcome him back? I thought that was
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: a very interesting question and answer the team. Yeah, with
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: my with my allergy cough to my allergy voice, I've
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: got a good Bill going. Um, I still think it's
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: open for him. Yeah, I still think it's open, just
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: because it's and I know, I know the old thing,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: and I get it, and I'm kind of on that
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: train too, But I just he's the only one I
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: wouldn't rule out right. Did you hear the exchange? No?
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: You know when I you're just make in front of Andy.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: I must have been distracted for that one moment because
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I don't remember that question. Yeah, they were like, would
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: you question back a good question? Kenrin McKenna asked the
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: follow up, he would He was asked a question about
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: oocha and then followed up by saying, is he kind
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: of like High Tower and that he has the ability
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: to play inside or out? And Bill bristled at that,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: let's you know, let's not be comparing guys to High Tower.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: He's one of the best linebackers has ever been here,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: and um really was on and on. I'm disappointed that
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: you didn't hit The follow up was, you know you
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: mentioned High Tower, would you welcome him back? Right? And
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: he said, we're only going to talk about the players
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: that are here. I'm disappointed that you weren't listening because
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: I like how you like to listen to the answers.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: And yeah, between the lines, I took that as that
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: that door is closed. He's not coming back, because that
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: was an over the top, glowing like praise of High Tower, right,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: which he generally reserves for guys that are done. Yeah,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: you know, like Teddy Bruski is the greatest Patriot, Like
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: he's highly complimentary of his players when they're active, But
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: that was like, that was like the perfect patriot, Teddy Bruski,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Troy Brown reserve for when they're done. That's right, And
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I think that was what he said about High Tower.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: I say, like one of the greatest linebackers we've ever had.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: And I'm with you, Paul, you know, like I know,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: we got into a heated debate last year about veterans
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: versus young guys, But when it comes to High Tower,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: it's time to move on um because if there's no
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: one on the roster now that can do what he
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: did last year, we're in big trouble. I need to
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: see that because High Tower wasn't High Tower last year,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: you know spurts, Yeah, yeah, here and there, But we
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: got to see what else we have, you know. Yeah,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I mean I I agree with that sentiment. I'm still
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: worried about it, just based on you know what we've
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: we haven't really seen anything so far. I bust your balls.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: If they resigned High Tower, would you welcome them back? Like?
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I will not spend any time saying, oh there's another
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: young guy. No no, no, no no, And I look,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I really like High Tower, but I love you guys
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: are right about where he's at and where they are
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: just The only reason why I would take him back
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: right now is just because I don't really see anybody
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: that can set the edge across from Jude On. I
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: don't you know, Dietrich Wise, Josh Ucha Anfreny, Jenny's just
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: it's a who's who. What about the sentiment that high
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: tower this year would be if he came back, would
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: be better than he was last year because he was
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: coming off maybe and maybe he could play less, like
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: maybe he could just kind of be I mean, you know,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: not to make the exact one to one comparison to
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Brian Cox and what he was here, but you know,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: he was just kind of a middle linebacker that would
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: come in against running teams and you know the Ted
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Johnson rolls somewhat later, you know, so in that regard, yes,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: but I mean I want him on the edge. I
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: just want him as like an early down outside linebacker.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Third down, get him off the field, then put the
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: chase the Ronnie Perkins, let the young legs go get
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: the quarterback. I just I really, we talk about all
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: the time about the run defense problems. It's so hard
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: to look at this roster right now and say, yeah,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: they're gonna be they're gonna be good against the run
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: this year. Like it's just I can see them being
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: good against the past, and they'll throw the whole you know,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: no position defense, safeties, cornerbacks, everything everywhere in the side.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: They'll confuse guys. They'll match up okay on passing downs,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: but against the run, against teams like Tennessee against the Ravens.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I mean, some of these teams that they have to
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: face this year, I just don't it's gonna look like
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: twenty twenty. Well, I had a lot of guys that
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: were practice, but not say these are gonna practice ud guys,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: but young guys you don't really know that are gonna get.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: They've always been a scheme defense where you know, they
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: they never been a defense that they just go out
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: do what they do and they're so good at it
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: they don't need to get you know, scheme. They're just
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: so But it does seem like against the run, you know,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: they'll be okay, but when they look bad, they're gonna
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: look really bad because they're just gonna be out of position. Yeah,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: you know, and how many games just get out of
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: out of hand because you can't stop the run, and
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: you just I think that's where everything starts. And then
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: you're stuck on the field the third downs or third
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: and shorts, they're you know, you're you're not really playing
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: complimentary football. The offense doesn't really have a chance to
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: go out and really get things going. So the pressures
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: on them every time they take the field. They got
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: to produce because you know the other team's offense is
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: about to come on and and go down the field
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: on some ten minute drive with you know, ten twelve,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: fifteen plays. Just just there was too much of that
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: last year. And just because you hit the reset button
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: and play the young guys doesn't mean, oh, well it's
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: going to be better. I want to see if it does.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I think it will initially be worse because of a
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: lack of experience. But in order to get better, you
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: have to take a step back. Well you have to
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: try it. I don't know, maybe bring him back for
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: one more year, just to at least the young guys
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: could potentially have more of his leadership at least for
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: one more year, and then maybe next year. I just
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: want to come to come back. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I mean, I love the guy, yeah, but I just
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: I don't want him back. Plus plus, he's all about money.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: He's always been made no bones about it. But you
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: know it's about money, guys winning. Then you signed him
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: with that money. Yeah, I don't know. See what I
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: did there? I brought it all full circle. Let's go
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: to Sean and Vancouver. Hey Shard, Hey Fred, Like, I
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: have a question for you, will kind of a question.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I was thinking about that listener last month who was
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: lamenting your idea of fun with the current Patriots team.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: But you know what, I get it, and I'm enjoying
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: the intrigue. You know, because for over twenty years, we
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: knew pretty much what to expect to this dicy There
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: was no huge changes to surprises. You know, at times
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: we could even predict the play calling. Now there are
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: a lot of questions about the how the Patriots are
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: going to move forward, and I'm anxious to find out,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: you know, Food Chay or Perkins or anyone can set
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: the edge like I'm sure you are. Was you just
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: talking about it? And will the team use more formn
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: front stop the run? Who's going to play outside corner?
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Will the Patriots go with more two head end sets,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: mixed and matchbirts all running back off and will John
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: of Smiths be used as a fullback. We could be
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: surprised more often. I'm sure winning championships is fun and
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: the ultimate goal, but I'm excited about this journey. It's
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: the great unknown. You don't know, I mean, it's you know, yeah,
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: all right, thanks Sean, appreciate it said you're having fun?
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Are you having fun yet? I mean everything he said,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: I agree with? What all the intrigue? Did you know
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: that any of those things were going to be the
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: case last year? What do you mean, like, did you
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: know who? Like who was going to be setting the
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: edge and who was going to be two tight end sets?
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: And now you're right, it's I think there's there's an
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: element of intrigue heading into every season. You don't know
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: exactly how it's going to win. Full well, who's gonna
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: play where? At his point in the heyday, you knew
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: what to expect every season, but not how you knew
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: what to expect in terms of a record. He's talking
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: about the house, But you knew Gronk was going to
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: be out there, and you knew that you know Brady
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: was gonna do what he did? You know, like it
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: was But this is what I'm talking about. So there's
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: a lot of you have a year that all of
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: a sudden you come out and you start running this
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: breakneck speed offense. Did you know that was going to
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: happen that year? Yeah, you knew they were going to
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: be in the AFC Championship at minimum. Yeah, I admit that,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I'll agree, But you didn't know how they were going
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: to get there. They did it, you know, that year
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: with an entirely different thing. Then a few years later
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: you bring in like Revis and Bronon, you have like this,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: uh you know, entirely remade defense and secondary and that's
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: you know how you end up. You have a guy
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: like Malcolm Butler. Don't tell me everybody was talking about
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: he was gonna be, you know, be the reason why
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: you you ended up escaping in the Super Bowl. Like, yes,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: you go into those years knowing that you're probably going
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: to be in the AFAC Championship game at worst, but
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: even you don't know how it's going to happen. You
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: don't know anything. Now now you knew certain things, no,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: I know, but the excitement, Like to me, if you
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: want to say, like it got we got kind of
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: spoiled because we knew we were going to be so
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: good every year, and there was no drama and intrigue
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: on the journey, Like how you know whether they're gonna
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: make the playoffs is exciting now? That I think is
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: an argument that you can make. I don't think like, well,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: are they gonna use two tight end sets? As Jonah
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: Smith gonna be in the backfield? Who's going to be
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: an out? I think those kinds of questions did exist
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: every year. Hold on though, I mean, like back then,
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: you knew they were gonna make the playoffs and you
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: knew you knew pretty much Howdy's gonna Brady? But yeah,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: exactly how But it's my point, but you know, Brady's
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: got like all of a sudden, Grontin Hernandez came and
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: you revamped your entire offense with this two tight ends. Yeah,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: and there were those, always those changes, but you know,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Brady was a constant, Belichick was a constant and all that,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: you know, right down to the last year when you
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: decided we're just gonna run the ball like predominantly in
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: the last couple of games of the year, and that's
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: going to be the centerpiece of the off Not only
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: do you not know if they're gonna make the playoffs,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: but if they do, you're not sure, like what's gonna
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: be that impetus. Yeah, And I mean and I think,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: you know, last year, you felt like you had some
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: of those guys coming back, and so you felt there
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: was a level of familiarity, and I get like, you know,
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: I'm kind of with Tomarn' turn of you know, having
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: to come back for a year. But I also like,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: you know, I think I said last year, I like
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: that jud jude On was not around for Brady and
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: and it just brought this kind of fresh perspective. And
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: so from another kind of point of view, I think
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: kind of taking that out of there. And Mayo talked
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: about having younger guys in his room and if we
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: were tad, you know, guys like high Tower here now,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: they'd be bored out of their mind. So I think
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: there is a place for that. But I also just
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: think I tie it back to the drafts, and you know,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: even in those years, you had some intrigue as far
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: as wow, you know we got Rob Gronkowski coming back
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: in a second year. This is you know, we don't
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: know exactly how it's gonna look. We don't know that
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: it's going to be this blitzkrieg one word offense and
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: they're going to just throw the hammer down on teams.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: But there just isn't that this year, especially on defense.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: There's Christian Barmore and you're like, I feel good about
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: him this year. After that, it's a lot of question
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: marks and a lot of it's just as guys that
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: you know over the last two years have not emerged,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: whether they didn't get the chance or they didn't take
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: advantage of the opportunity. And I think that's that's the
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: new of course we're new, completely new territories that I'm
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: excited about, but you know, the opportunity is there if
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: these guys can can I see it, Can I see
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: if some of the young guys can play. Yeah, And
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I think this this intrigue on that intrigue, but you know,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: two tight ends Jono Smith in the full back, there's
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: no excitement on any of that twists. They don't have answer. Yeah, No,
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: I mean, I think I just think it's part of
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: the bigger point of of how it's you know, I
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: think you're totally right in terms of every year there's
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: those kind of what does it I mean, how many
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: times three four or four three every year. Every year
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: they talk about that. Well, I mean I you could
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: literally give you a dozen examples, Like the year that um,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: the year that Flores took over on defense was an
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: entirely different defensive like mindset than they had previously under Patricia,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Like I didn't know that was going to happen. Heading
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: in Like how it happens is always like a surprise.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: It's always, you know, intriguing. I think that the difference
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: now is you don't know if it's gonna work. You
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: knew whatever they did then was gonna work. You just
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: didn't know what it was. What was the year? But
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: amiba defense? You know, all these guys standing up, who's
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: coming from where? We have no idea? What was the year?
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Was it Flores's first year as DC when they had
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: the preseason game in Tampa and that was another year? Yeah? Andre,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: that was the Andre Carter year, Andrew Andre Carter, Andre
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Carter and Gerard Mayo are going to split the defensive MVP.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: But who is the DC? Then I forget and after
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: that one preseason game, this is going to be the
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: greatest defense ever? Was Patricia's? Oh no, Dean Peas maybe
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: still there. I don't know, I don't remember what Europe,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: but it was like, oh, they're gonna be so much
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: more aggressive this because because that's what they were doing
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: in the in the summer, right right, But I forget,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: So would it be Patricia? It was a Dean Peas
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: and I think Peas was out by that point. I
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: think Patricia was the fact. I think it was Patricia.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: But Andy was like, this defense is going to be
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: the best ever. Right. But that's part of what I'm
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: talking about, that stuff is always an unknown getting into
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: a season. Yeah, the difference is now you don't know
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: if they're gonna win with whatever they decide to do,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: and you don't know who it's really gonna be. I
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: think that's another part of it too, Just like at
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: least with those there was a core what did he see?
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: It came up an uh, let's see Yemi and Texas
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: writes in Paul said Judge was more involved with Mac
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: Jones last week and Patricia more involved this week. Does
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: this back up the belief that there is an OC
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: audition slash competition. Maybe I'm not here to shoot anything down.
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I just I think it's
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: gonna be Joe Judge, which what's the word sustainable? No collaborative?
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: Come on, keep up, I'm mixing up my cue. It's
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: a collaborative. Jordan is from Appalachian, New York. I love
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: the show. Frequent listener for three years. Two questions. One
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: who replaces mccordy next year, assuming we don't resign him.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: I get the feeling it's Jalen Mills. Ah, I don't know,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: there hasn't been. I haven't really noticed Mills playing much safety.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: I know it's a lot more Miles, b Bryan, but
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I don't think it matters how I think they got
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: a bunch of guys that they can play free safety,
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: and you early to look at that, especially with all
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: the questions. You got so many safe. Don't have Dugger
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Phillips right, those two, those two will be bad. Peppers
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: is only on a one year deal. But then you
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: gotta figure out if any of the young guys like
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: Brian to a bledsoak and play. Yeah. I just don't
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: think Dougger and Phillips are going to continue to play
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: the same kind of box strong safety role. I think
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: at some point you're pulling one of those guys out
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: to be more of a balance safety and then one
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: of them probably would would replace too. I remember hearing
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: talking about Patriots uniforms potentially getting an upgrade or change.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: Any truth to that the regular uniforms. Yeah, no, nothing.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I don't think that there might be some news coming
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: out in a week or two about some other uniforms. Okay,
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: Fred So Paul. Twenty eleven it was there was no
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: defensive coordinator safeties. Yeah, what year twenty eleven? Eleven? And
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: that was the year that I think Andy was all
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: jacked up in the preseason. Yeah, and Andre Carter was
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: like on a crazy tear and then he towards the
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: ceil against Denver. I think, yeah, but in the preseason
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: they were blitzing all over the place, they would do
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: it and nobody doesn't. Then they never really did it
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: in the regular season. Um, let's see Tim Wrights in.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: I just want to thank you for always trying to
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: stay positive about the Patriots, even if it does look
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: like they could win maybe five or six games. On
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Bigheads podcasts, they were already talking about what are the
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: teams to root for besides the Patriots and the season
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: hasn't even started anyway. My question for you is this.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: You can win any super Bowl besides O seven, but
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: you have to give up one of the Super Bowls
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: you've won. What would it be? I think for me,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: I'd want to win in ninety seven and maybe give
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: up twenty eighteen. Oh I would say two thousand and
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: six for eighteen. I would do that. So you give
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: up the win, you know, like you had that you
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: had that unbelievable win in San Diego and then you
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: follow it up with a kind of a gag job
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: in Indie would blow the big lead, and I think
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: they would have beaten Chicago. I don't know, but it'd
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: be worth trading. I mean, why would you trade one
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: for one? Because I don't think I think the eighteen
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: one was so far behind the other ones in terms
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: of overall talent. It still feel all six or so
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: do you have to get into what about like winning
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: in OH eight when Brady comes back, oh, you know,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: in OH nine when he comes back or well after.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: I mean, I've kind of took this question. It's like
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: a year that they almost want it, like, oh, wait,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: didn't make the play. I know, I know, Oh nine
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: they got knocked out by one hundred points in the
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: first round. Yeah, they just didn't have it that year. Um,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't want to give up video
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: from Mike says. If there's some way I can erase
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: that O nine Baltimore playoff game, I'd be hell yeah.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I like. I like the question though, because, like he
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: wisely says, you know, not counting oh seven. Everybody would say, well,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: I'd rather have gone undefeated. But I'm thinking about oh
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: seven and it was so disappointing. And then Brady comes
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: back next year and gets hurt in the first game. Instead,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: he goes on to win the Super Bowl right after
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: that year. Yeah, I would take them. I mean, if
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: I'm going to be completely selfish, I would have taken
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: the ninety six one. Well, yes, but I was trying.
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: I was trying to do the Belichick. I was thinking
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: about that too, you know, ninety six or what about flippings?
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: I would have won money on that one. What a
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: flipping fifteen to eight and you would have gotten fired,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: right if you got If you took fifteen instead of eighteen,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: you get three in a row. You know, that might
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: have been something a little bit more special. Yeah, well
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: I was about eighty five. Any sis Stanley Morgan Tyler
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: from nadick. Um, we were talking about, like, what would
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: you be willing to pay for for content? You know,
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: what's worth paying for besides the games? He says, I'd
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: be willing to subscribe to I won't do that, so
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: the boys a PU calendar. No, I'd be willing to
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: subscribe to an NFL service that included every episode of
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: the show NFL Top ten, but they would definitely need
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: to update some of the episodes. Greg Rosenthal looks like
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: a fourth grader in the old episodes, and Tom Brady
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: was last listed at number ten on the Top ten
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: NFL Divas of All Time. Um Dreg Rosenthal is a
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: very young looking guys, Like I'm sure he looks a
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: lot older than he did in those shots, but he's
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: a young looking guy. Saw him at the combine, Yeah,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: he's a young looking guy. Uh. I only want the
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: top tens that I'm a part of day What did
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: you do? Some uh were on some of those didn't
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: know guy, I used to be a big deal until
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: you came. I think, I think when it comes to
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: paying for something like something like that would be good initially,
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: but it wouldn't be sustainable. Like you'd be tired of it.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: You wouldn't pay for it the second year. You know,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: I just think paying for something. If I'm a fan
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: of a team and I'm paying for something, I just
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: want everything. That's what I want. I want to be
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: able to watch the games wherever I am, whatever games
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: I want, whenever, from history, whatever I want to want.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: You know everything, I have everything to the team. You
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: know everything. Okay. Anthony from Seattle wanted to point out
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: what's up, bro. I wanted to point out something that
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: happened on Thursday. Early in the show, you guys spoke
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: about the passing of Rayleiota. Then later, as you were
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: wrapping up, Fred threatened to make Paul do some traveling
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: next season, and without thinking, Paul responded, what I never
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: traveled before. I never dug a hole before. Good fellows reference.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: You guys always bring it full circle, even without trying. Yeah,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: that's good. Rest in peace. Yeah, I never dug a
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: hole before is one of my crutches. I used that
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: a little too often. You Yeah, And for the record,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: Fall has never dug a hole. That is true, because
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: I would get blisters look in my hands just from golfing.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: It's never done a hard taste. We're going to bruise.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Let's get back to the Pats five hundred. We'll go
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: to Todd, North Carolina. Hate Todd. Yeah, I'm liking Tomorrow's
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: standing up for herself and getting involved. It sounds pretty good. Yeah,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: she wants High Tower and I don't now. We're gonna fight,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: good fight. I'm putting my money on her because you're
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: old and great is true, and fat don't leave that out.
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: Well you kind of a couple of years younger than me.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: But yeah, yeah, I get it. I know how it feels.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: So I'm thinking about this whole bringing High Tower back.
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: So I am going to start a fight. I don't
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: want them. We got to see what we got. We've
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: got too many people that we just don't get on
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: the field. We need to know what we got where
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: we're going. And I really hope Bill takes this year
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: not as hey, I gotta get back in the playoffs
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: or win more games to ketch shula. As hey, Let's
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: take a look what we got. Do this as development year.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Get people on the field, get them playing, get our
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: new guys, get the rookies. I really want to see
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: our guys get out there. What's your take. I'm at
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: that point now, Yeah, I'm at that point. But I
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: just feel, particularly on defense, I feel some trepidation because
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: I don't have a lot of confidence yea, and the
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: guys that they have Thornton's like on no offense, like,
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: if Thornton doesn't play, to me, that's a good thing.
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: That means like other guys are being consistent and producing.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: But on defense, this is Tomaro's point. He's always so positive, like,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: if Thornton doesn't play, that means everybody else is playing
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: really well, that's right, as opposed to that means that
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Thornton just can't play. No, that doesn't necessarily mean. I
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: totally agree. It doesn't necessarily mean either one of those things.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: But you just automatically go to if he doesn't play,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: it's good, okay, Fred winter birthday again. A couple of
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: weeks end of June. I'm a cancer. Oh my gosh,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: so so if Emma and I was looking at this
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: earlier and cancer see the good in everyone. I was
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: just reading that. I was just sitting down talking with
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: Emma about that upstairs. Everyone, Yeah, how does that explain? Eric?
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: It's a crap. I'm no that explains you seeing the good.
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: What is Gemini ends? The twins are pain and tends.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: What the rude is? It depends on are they like
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: first week of first week of June? Geminis like Saturday,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: just off the top of the Only reason I know
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: this because when I dated the girl in college, it
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: was a nightmare. She was a Gemini and I read
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: it and I was like searching for answers. This is
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: like my first girlfriend. I have all a sudden you're
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: in a relationship with somebody and you're fighting. You're like,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: what's going on? And so I did research. I'm like, well,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: she's a Gemini, you know. I'm like reading like men
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: or from ours women from me. Gemin No. I did
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: look at it, and then they're like, she's a Gemini,
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: so she's got you know, it's like two it's the twins,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: and you'll get like two different personalities. I'm like, that's
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: what it is. Sometimes she's great, she's the two faced Geminis.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: I think of them like an icy hot patch, where
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: like it's like they're just hot and cold like everyone coast.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I think you get just you're pretty consistent with your
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: right into it and out of it. And I think
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: it's more Paul's always miserable. That's not true that Hey,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: you're supposed to see the good in everybody, except when
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: he's needling. That's that's the only thing that gets me mad.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: He's always miserable. No, no, But to answer just with
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: you the caller's question, what's his name? Todd North count
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: Todd's question, I do think I do want High Tower back,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: but I also would be fine with seeing what this
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: potential could be. So you want to Todd, you want Todd,
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: you want High Tower. It's more of a mentor. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: but I don't think he's interested in doing that. He's
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: interested in making money. And we got our mentoring last
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: year too, like I mean, but but some of the
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: people were hurt so they couldn't can't really get much
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: mentorship when you're like sidelined. And at the end of
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: the day, I think they just got to find out
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: these guys can play, and whether it Dante High Towers
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: is telling them how to do it or not, like
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: either got to get out there and make plays or
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: you get off the field and find someone else who count.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: And then also to just based off some of the
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: press conferences, I feel like they feel confident in what
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: they have. They've seen something. I guess, yeah, you're right,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: you're right, and we'll see how it goes. I just
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: automatically think, and this maybe is the opposite of Fred
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: always see in the good like I look at it
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: like High Tower comes back, and now we're into year
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: four of Ouche without knowing what and then then he
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: plays and he starts to play really well, and oh,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: by the way, now you can't afford him, and he's
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: pissy because he sat around doing nothing for three years
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: and you don't have any chance to get him back.
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: That's like, that's how I think it thinks. I know
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: it's it's irrational, but that's what happens when you grow
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: up in New England and your teams lose all the time.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Like everybody that grows up now has got twenty years
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: of dominance in all four sports is expected. Like I
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: didn't grow up with that, Like I'm always waiting for
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: something bad to happen. Well, I would just root for
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: other teams like Bronco and I didn't have that luxury
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: about you too too with Ouche. And we kind of
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: joked about it last year that like the hype train
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: was all going during training camp. It's continuing to go
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: now and even with Steve and Bill both kind of
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: saying like, we think he's gonna be a big part
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: of it, Well, all right, let's see how big of
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: a part of it he is and how much of
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: an impact does he actually have. That's gonna be kind
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: of hanging over this all season long through training camp.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: What's he how's he being used? You know, we get
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: into the season, you know, and they were high, I
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: mean they were fairly high picks, you know, second third
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: round picks. Ouch Perkins. I am excited to see those guys.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: I think that's that's a legitimate It's gonna be one play.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: It's gonna be one play. He's gonna go to set
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: the edge. He's just gonna get run over him. I'm
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: not excited anymore. I'm not excited. This is where He's right.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: We're gonna have a postgame show and I'm gonna be like,
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: I can't believe I waited a year and a half
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: of that. Yeah, he's right. I will say that miserable
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: that some people don't take advantage of Like sometimes there's potential,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: but it doesn't actually go anywhere. Yeah, that's true, and
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: that that can be really disappointing because you really can't. Yeah,
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: especially when you feel like maybe it could get it
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: could work somewhere else, or you know, for whatever reason,
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: you're like, it's just he was stuck behind somebody here,
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: or you know, he just never got that chance. It's
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: so true, though, But I mean, I think it's a
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: it's the Brady thing. You never know when you're gonna
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: get that chance, and when you do get it, you
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: better be ready because it's not gonna come again. So
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: you got you gotta be ready. You know, a lot
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: of these guys Ronnie Perkins, you know, it's like, you know,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: back in practice yesterday, great, like you're just glad to
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: see him back, Like these guys need to be here,
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: they need to be get at you guys that you're
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: setting the edge. Guy. I'm telling oh, I'm not trying
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: to say that. No, I'm saying that's what you're gonna
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: have him. He's gonna be an outside linebacker. That's what
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: he is. That's what he did last summer when we
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: got a chance to see him play. Now, during the season,
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: we never saw him. He never played in the game.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: But last summer, the reps that he got, that's what
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: he was doing. I think that. I think he's going
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: to be on the other side of of Jude On. Yeah.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: All right, let's go to um. Let's see John at Duxburry. Hey, John,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: old people, how are you? Um? I have a question
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: for Paul, But first I want to say, I think Fairbanks,
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: next to UH Pasel, not past selves, next to uh Belichick,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: was the best coach that I've ever had season tickets.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: I would agree with that. I would agree with that,
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: I do, Paul. You know, they drafted well, he definitely
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: was the best draft and he implemented all of the
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: systems that they used. It was his defense that they used,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: uh you know in New England and the Ray Perkins offense,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: which Ray Perkins was under Fairbank. Like it's it's it's that.
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: That's all the schemes that they do, they're not Bill
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: Belichick schemes. There's stuff that was here in the seventies
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: with the page Yeah, probably all that Oklahoma stuff. Yep, yeah,
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: that's true, you know. And and the question I have
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: for you, Paul is what do you think the chances
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: Trey Flower is coming back? And you think it's a
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: money thing or a Patricia thing that he's not here already.
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: The last part of that sentence is very interesting. Um,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: I do think right now they don't have the money,
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: but at some point you wonder, why are these guys
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: still out there and how much money are they going
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: to get? Now? I thought it was kind of eye opening.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Who was it that just signed this week a Keem
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: Hicks A Keem Hicks like ten million? So I guess
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: there's still some money out there for these guys. In
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: Clowne he signed for eleven I think last week. You
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: know these one year deals, you know, you look at
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: him like, well, there's no terms, so but it's going
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: to cost you, right, it's real money. I'd take tree flowers.
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: I mean, I think I would definitely have been talking
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: about with just concerns on the edge. Is he a
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: perfect fit? And probably not exactly, but he's approven. He
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: liked Patricia. Well, that's why I said. The last part
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: of that is interesting. I don't know, right, he mean
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: he went there, He must have liked him to go there. Yeah,
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: maybe he didn't like the head coach. Yeah, no one
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: else seemed to all right, Thanks John, good call, Thank
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: you Barton Poland I could see him back though, Hey,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: guys into marriage due to draft editions of Cold Strange
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: and peer Strong, who were dominant in outside zone running
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: schemes at their colleges. Does that mean Bill will introduce
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: more Shanahan like running concepts into his offense. That was
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: my impression after they drafted them, and now I think
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: Evan Lazar also said that they run some outside zone
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: that they ran some outside drills outside zone, sorry, outside
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: zone drills yesterday, which strengthen my case. What are your impressions,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: I see a lot of I think they're always going
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: to be multiple. I don't I don't really see them
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: all of a sudden attacking to the you're stating what
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: your voice say. You know, it's just Paul and I
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: don't understand it. I feel fineite, but it just sounds bad.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: But I just don't. I don't see this like revolutionary
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: changed all of a sudden go to the Shanahan system.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: I mean, Bill has been around forever. He knows like
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: this has been around forever. I mean I know that,
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: you know, uh, you know with the Rams, Sean McVay
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: kind of repackaged a little bit, and you know, put
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: some bells and whistles on it. But I don't know.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: I don't know what the line is going to be.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: I just thought they've always run outside zone and I've
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: seen him do stuff like this. Do you have the
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: play the bootlegs stuff? I don't, you know. That's why
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: when everyone was saying, oh, I think that San Francisco
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: wants mac Jones, I'm like, I don't really see that.
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: I don't think he's a great fit for that, you know,
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: play action, rollout, throwing on the move, like not really
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: what you want Mac Jones doing. I think you want
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: him in the pockets. I don't know. I think it's
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: a little OVERFC East or an AFC executive who said
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: that his athleticism is underrated. That is true. That is true. Yeah,
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: especially by Paul rats it. He underrates it. Yeah, he
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: lost all the weight by people. Now that's another thing. Yeah,
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: he said he plans on bulking up for camp. Yeah,
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: but bulking up doesn't mean the same as no. No,
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: he just like the whole like he's like slimmed down
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: so he can run argument to like what Mike's talking
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: about with these you know bootlegs, He's gonna fatten up.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: It's gonnat. He didn't slim down to run the ball more,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: he's not running them. What if he bulkes up his legs,
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: he gets fast, Yeah, yeah, yeah, pure like he's not
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: going to run the ball. What if he just goes
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: to five guys and quarksburgers. There's a better chance of
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: that than him running the ball consistently. Yeah. I mean
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: that whole denvertats appere pretty good. Oh my god, that
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: was great. That whole Denver zone running scheme. I mean,
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: that's you have to buy into that. But they have,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: you know that, like you can't. I don't think you
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: can just do that on some plays. That has to
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: be like your DNA. But don't you think that they've
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: had offensive linemen over the years with those kinds of traits,
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: like you know, mobile guards that can get out and
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: like Shack Mason's yes, was very active, like that's what
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: they do. Yeah. But and I'm not saying it's the
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: same as Denver because I don't know enough about offensive
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: line play to tell you all of these zone, you know,
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: gap schemes and whatever. I'm not I'm not here for that,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: but I was they've had they've had very active and
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: mobile offensive lineman throughout the entirety of Belichick's tenure. Yeah.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: But the way like Denver would do it is the
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: whole line would get up out of their stand as
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: a unit, like move one way or the other, and
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: then the running back had his choice, like it wasn't
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: run through this. He would choose which old to run through,
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: and everybody was moving. It was really choreographed. It was
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: something else, you know, when it's working. It was so
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: hard to stop for a defense. I'll just talk to myself.
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: No one's even listening to everybody's watching TV. Seriously, that's
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: a great series. Oilers Avalanche I for your hockey fan
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: eight six. You know it's going to be a great series.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: The Celtics and the Warriors. I'm excited about that button.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: You know, Chris gasper Is, he watches he's a big
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: student of the NBA. Trust him and I do trust him.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: And he says that this series is going to be
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: easier for the Celtics. And you think I did see
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: I heard Celtics in three what okay? Now, Yeah, he's
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: just a big Marcus our fanny. Think that's another that's
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: another Felgred mazism that I stole right, because everybody was
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: doing this yesterday, right, Golden State can't match up? I
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: need Golden State can't match up with the Celtics. Can
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I have an old? Can I have an NBA for
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: dummies moment? Because last I seem to recall maybe two
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: years ago pre pandemic, was that no one could be
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: Golden State like they were just on fire and the
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: only way they could lose was when they just played
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: bad like And so what happened in between now and
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: over COVID I heard it became this they for a
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: high draft pick, right what Golden State? Yeah? No, it
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: was decimated by injuries. Yeahies Clay Thompson hasn't played in
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: two and a half years. Well there it is. What
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: worries me about the Celtics plaining them is being able
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: to keep up with the three point shooting for the Warriors.
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: It's like, can they really go like shot for shot
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: with them? That? I think that's going to be the key.
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: Can The Celtics won a lot of games scoring one
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: hundred points in this series against Miami. They ain't winning
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: games scoring one hundred points against Golden States? So can
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: they scored one twenty or can they get one, fifteen, one, twenty,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: because that's what it's going to take. The last like
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: I think the last three games they want. In the
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: Miami series, they scored one hundred, one hundred and two
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: and what you know, ninety eight or something like that.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: But but this also, you know, looks like it's going
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: to be a less physical series for the Celtics, right,
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: But the Celtics are the physical team, no, I know,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: but like so they don't they want it physical, that's
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: where they play. Yeah, they don't. But but you know, Tatum,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: you know, maybe Tatum and Brown, Tatum will be fine.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: I don't worry about you know, though they won't have
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: those games where, oh, you know, Tatum's missing shots. You
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: know they're all over Oh hell, he could miss shots.
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: But I don't worry about him. He's a star. Yeah,
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: you know, I worry about the stiffs, Like what is
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: Grant William's gonna do. That's the stuff I worry allot.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: Because Tamara's point, they need to hit threes. Yeah, he
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: stands in the corner and just takes open threes. If
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: he doesn't make them, yeah, they're in trouble. That's the issue.
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: And it's like gardening stuff Curry Like, I mean, he
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: can shoot from half court, So what are you gonna do?
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: He's something and he doesn't need to be open. No
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: he doesn't. So does Marcus Smart play on him? Did
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: you cover him? We can only hope Defensive Player of
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: the Year. But the thing I love about Curry is
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: he loves you to sleep when you're defending him. Like
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: he'll just kind of like walk and then all of
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: a sudden, boom, we'll just turn it on and cut.
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: You know. Um, he's a tough guy to defend. Some
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: of the just videos of him shooting shots from like
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: outside the state. I mean, you know he's like in
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: the stands, I mean he's crazy. You know what I
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: always find amazing what that is, how effortless they actually
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: get the ball, Like they just flick their wrists and
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: they get the ball to the basket, Like did you
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: ever try it's away? It's forever Like I did it.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: I was in a three point contest in the garden.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: Did you find yourself pushing the ball to get it?
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: I was, you know, I'm a good shot a jump yeah,
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: but everything you got would have I have a serious conversation.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: I need to see the film frednu were the dead spot.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: I beat Andy one on one basketball. I'm very much
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: like twenty years my journey and is one of the
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: worst basketball players I've ever seen. But that's okay. Oh
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: my gosh, Pixor didn't happen. Huh, Pixor didn't happen. I'm
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: very much like I have to see it to believe
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: it was witnesses. I saw it. No, the Garden. No
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: one actually saw it the Garden. When you played him
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: in one on one and you kept pump faking and
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: you kept jumping up in the end, you didn't see it.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: That was just my description. I believe that was in
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: San Diego. Yeah, there wasn't that the science trip. Yeah,
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: so we meant I wasn't there. I don't think you
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: were outside. I think I was. I also saw you
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: beat him in tennis, but you witnessed it. I believe
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: I announced the tennis match deuce. Yeah. So I used
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: to be able to shoot the ball, and I was
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: at Boston Garden. Was a red arback three point contest
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: and I said Maxwell was rebounding for me, and they
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: asked me to stay after to be in the final round,
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: and I couldn't. I went to the UMass Final Four
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: when it was in New Jersey. I was there. Yeah,
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: it was the final eight game though, oh no, the
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: final four that was not there like Marcus Camps. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: I went and I saw their Sweet sixteen in final
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: eight games and they lost the Final eight to Wake Forest.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: But the bottom line is I could sh no. Oklahoma
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: State Cedric Maxwell called me downtown Freddy Brown that day.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: But my point, my point being like from half court,
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: he just flicks the ball, I know, and I don't
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: think that is like you need to foot like I
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: can through the two hand from the chest, you know,
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: from like three quarter to quart I can get it there.
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: I just like, but I can't just take a regular
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: jump shot from half court? Ye like he just like right,
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: it's crazy, Like the accuracy is ridiculous. But I think
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: the effortless way that these guys shoot the ball from
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: fifty feet is amazing. I don't know how they do it. Well,
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: it's it's it's you don't see it because it happened
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: so fast, but it is. It's the arm movement and
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: that torque that they get, you know. Yeah, it's it's
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: like I could take a college three like that. But
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: not like an NBA three. It's more like if I
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: just flicked my wrist, it's gonna be short. Yeah, you
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: really need to put something into it. Um, So I'm excited.
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: It should be. It should be a really good series. Yeah,
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: it should be. Uh. I think it's a pretty evenly
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: matched series. I think the Celtic is gonna win it.
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: I just don't think they're gonna win it in three
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: the way some of the I mean, the guys were
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: saying yesterday, what's up with the nine o'clock start? Times two?
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: That's that's typical of the NBA. Also West Coast team,
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: you know, so for them at seven, you know, they
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: try to have it for both sides of the country. Yeah,
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: I don't really understand. No one cares for over here.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: I'm like my bedtimes ten thirty. So yep, that's late.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: You don't even finish the last Law and Order, right,
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: You're like going to bed when they transition to the DA. Yes, yes,
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: it depends. If it's Alex then you got to stay
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: because that's the best. Probably. I love her. I think
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: her name is Stephanie March. Okay, yeah, I love a
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: lot of order. Like I'm just obsessed Dan, it should
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: be ringtone on my phone best. I think I asked
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: you the best detective pairing and you're definitely Olivia and
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: State boy, Olivian State. Oh, that's an s the suv.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: I'm talking about the original another crime with an SUV.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: I'm talking about, you know, the like, what's the best pairing?
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: Was it Lenny and somebody? I can't I remember Lenny's name,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: but I mean Ed, munch Ny and munch or yeah, yeah,
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: have you seen all of them? Like Lenny was no
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: Jerry Orbach right he was. He was the father the suv. Okay, right, yeah,
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: he's with He's with Christ So I can't think of
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: all the well it was original. It was originally Paul
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: Sorvino and Chris Nath and they were the original oh yeah,
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: big yeah. And then if Vino got shot and he retired,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: and then Chris nah was with Lenny and Chris not
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: didn't like him right away, but then they warmed up,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: so then they were a partner for a while. Then
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: Nath left and I think Ed came in the black guy. Oh,
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: Jesse Martin, Yeah, so he was his partner, Jesse L. Martin,
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: And then um is his name? Anthony Anthony Anderson, Yes,
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: he was on it for a while. Yeah, yeah, he's
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: on it now. Yeah, that that little reboot the Yeah,
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: I've only seen a few of the new episodes. Funny
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: that like s uv Um, it's the one that's on
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: like all that. I think that's the one I see
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: more often than anything else. Yeah, it's a chevy t
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: I don't like that because it's it's too traverse dark,
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: it's all Yeah, they actually learned a lot. They're upsetting.
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: It's all like kids getting that's what it used to be. Like, Um,
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: what was that that FBI show? I mean, um, it
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: was the profile or kind of thing with Thomas Gibson CS. No,
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I'll come up with it though. Um the Mentalist, No,
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: damn Ghost Whisperer SPU is not all like dark like
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: some of them criminal minds. Some people get you know what.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: That's what the problem with that show is. I really
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: like I would be upset, Like I'd watch it. It
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: was incredibly well done, but I'd be upset, like after
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: every show. You know what's at good one? I bet
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: you you guys have never seen an episode. Um, it's
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: it's in reruns now. It's the closer. Oh the what's
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: her face? Yeah, watched it, but she's um um, she's
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: married to she's married to um the go. She is
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: the actor Kevin Bacon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's her show.
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: It's a good show. It's a is it a good
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: It's it's good. You know, the characters are good. It's
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: it's it's a sneaky good show. So you like SUV
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: better than the original SPU SPU I I sometimes like. Well,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: also there's now Organized Crime, which I really like. I do.
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: I always like stabler Um, but um, yeah, I like
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: I like SVU Organized Crimes. You're supposed to be the
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: time guy. So many and you you, you and the
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: listener were teaching me about the group shows on Networks
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: single Camp. I'll see now, but I'm now. I'm also
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: into like the Chicago shows One Chicago, like Chicago pe Fire.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: I watched them all last week because my my regular
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: stories weren't on. Are you sixty? How old are you?
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: You're not supposed to ask a woman? Hold, you're giving
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: it away by watching all these shows. Well the Chicago
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: is or NBC, So why don't you get up to
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: speed and then you come Okay, you throw some smoke.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: All right, Okay, um, just see Fred has this this
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: notion that there's nothing on TV. It's all sports. No,
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: it's all streaming. You're like, if you're not watching streaming,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: why would you watch listen? He's a television snob. The
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: networks are at a huge disadvantage these days to the independent.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: That doesn't mean there's not a lot of still really
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: good stuff that's money money, but there's better stuff on
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: HBO and Netflix, and a lot of that stuff I
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: find highly overrated. I have to be honest, it's true.
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: And by the way, the Chicagos are a NBC. I
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: corrected on that for us, for us because we watched
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: we watched, I said, we watched poop. It's it's just also, yeah,
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: that's the only thing I watch really, Yeah, I mean
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: I like that over trash television. I hate trash. I
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: can't stand trash. That's the worst of us. I can't
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: get the worst of Bachelor, Bachelorette net stuff I can't watch. However,
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: I was forced to watch Love Is Blind, and I
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: thought that wasn't as bad kind of moral psychological experiment. Yeah,
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: I thought it was. It kind of made me think
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: in the sense of like could I do this? Like, yeah,
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: so are you into tomorrow? You into these uh, real
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: life murder mysteries like Snapped, like that series that might
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: be taking it a little bit too fair. Yeah. I
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: just finished the Staircase documentary, just like yeah, it's good,
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: it's good. It's thirteen episodes, it spans twenty one twenty seventeen.
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: I mean, they were with him the whole time. But
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: just uh, you know, not a not not a clear
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: cut case, one of those examples of just you never know.
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: I still haven't finished that. Still we have to go back.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: We did the doc. Now we gotta go get back.
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: And but but it's it feels surreal going back to
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: the scripted show because now you know the real people
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: and you can kind of see through the how many
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: episodes ruin the doc? Thirteen? It was long? How long
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: are each episode though? Uh? About an hour? Yeah, they're long.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: I mean it's uh, I think the one start of
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: the n it felt a little bit shorter. But you know,
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: it's just a crazy, crazy case with so many twists
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: and turns. I mean, and that's just like whenever we
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: would get procedural scripts or something like that, or we'd
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: have to work on a show with pursuit. I didn't
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: really find a manager. They're like, all right, here we go.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: They're gonna lay out this mystery and then they're gonna
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: solve it for us. That's what I like about the
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: reality stuff more. It's just that these are real life
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: things that that don't make sense and aren't easily put
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: into a box or you know, wrapped up quickly by
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: someone's imagination. All right, trivia time. Ah, this is Enrique
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: from Monterey, Mexico. First question, what is the only team
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: or teams that has played in four or more Super
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: Bowls to have played them all in the same host city.
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: M Someone's played in four Super Bowls and they were
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: all in the same host city. Yeah, all in New Orleans. Yeah,
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: And it's a little bit of a trick question. So
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: most city maybe not necessarily the same site. Well, don't
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: focus on the city. I'm going to say the Colts.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: Paul got it. I said, it's tricky because some were
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: in Baltimore, you know when they were, but they were
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: in he said, according to Enrique sixty eight they were
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: in the sixty eight Super Bowl, the seventy super Bowl, right, Yeah,
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: the two thousand and six, in two thousand and nine
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: and everyone in Miami. Yeah, okay, all right? Why was
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: it in Miami in two thousand and six and in
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: two thousand and nine? I don't know. Doesn't that odd?
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: Was that a year that they had to move it
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: because of a hurricane or something was going on? Oh?
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: You might be right. Maybe it was supposed to be
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: in New Orleans, New Orleans, right Arena? Right? Yeah? I
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: like I like the trivia though. Yeah. Two? What is
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: the only team that has won four Super Bowls in
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: four different decades? Four different decades? That's wrong? Wrong? Three?
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: Two one? It's the New York Giants eighty six, ninety seven,
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: and eleven. I know, I didn't get it. I blocked
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: it out. That's a great question. Well and Rik two
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: for two bringing it? Uh? What is the only team
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: to play in seven consecutive playoffs without reaching the conference championship?
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: Seven years in the playoffs never never made it made
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: it to the conference rout of the division round? Kansas City? No? No,
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: what another team that is no longer what it was
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: back then? MS wrong that they've always been the Packers
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: picks the one team that's been around for it's the
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: Houston Oilers from eighty seven to ninety three. Uh, okay,
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: a couple more. Only two teams have played in five
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: or more Super Bowls have always played them in a
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: different city every time. Who are those two teams? How
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: many Super Bowls? Five or more? And every year they
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: played it in a different city. It's two teams one
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: of them? Uh No, Pittsburgh Dallas. No, the answer is
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: the Raiders. They played Miami, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Tampa,
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: and San Diego as host cities, and then the Packers
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, San Diego, and Dallas. It's
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: so hard to remember. That's a really hard Well. That's
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: my thing is I don't remember where they are. Final one,
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: barely remember the Patriots. What team has won the least
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: division titles since the nineteen seventy merger? Jets Jets, Jets, Jets?
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: How many did they win? You know, one? Two ninety
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: eight and two woow o two thanks for nothing, good stuff.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: I'd say four out of five. The fourth question was
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: too tough? Yeah yeah, So what'd you think of the
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: finale of This is Us? Fred watched? I never knew did?
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: I never saw an episode. I've seen episode. Well, you know,
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: I pop in because Lane watches it. And as I've
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: been saying, it's like every episode is as dramatic and
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: that one wasn't. And right well, they were wrapping it
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: up and I'm like, and I'm asking Lane and I'm like,
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: is this this is the finale? This is finale? Right?
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: And she's like, I don't know. And I'm like, if
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: this isn't the finale, I don't know what the hell
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: the next episode it's gonna be. I thought it was
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: really well done. And I looked at Beth and I
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: was like, forty five, it's in. I go. I was
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: really anticipating a good cry tonight. I guess that's not coming.
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: I guess they got an audience for the previous The
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: previous one was tough. Yeah, is that the one where
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: he gave the speech at the at the wedding? That
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: that might have been like the third one. I've never
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: seen this too. You gotta talk on the mic. Don't
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: be shy. I can't. The speech was two episodes two okay,
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: previous I Come in and I Come out, But ken
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: ultimate was very upsetting for everybody. Did you see I'm
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: on the couch wallet on the TV husband, Marvel characters.
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: That's me. It's me. Yeah, yeah, you know some of
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: us just say, you know, I watch it like I
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: have a video game or a comic in my face,
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: wallet's on the TV. It's a good it's a it's
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: a good show. I will say that they sort of
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: jumped the shark a little bit and having everything so
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: over the top melodramatic all the time, like no life
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: is like that. But it was a well done show,
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: Like what really well done show? You know, Matt, We
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: used to always do this changes. I think we should
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: resurrect sometime between now and Training Camp. We'll devote one
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: of our episodes here to Star Wars to talk about
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: Obi Wan and Mandal, you know, all the recent developments.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know, because people always wanted to hear
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: what I had to say about that we got some
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: mega star. We'll have an episode where we talk about
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: get Paul's insight onto you know, all of it. I
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: don't make fun of you guys who are watching. You
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: can you just don't know it? You can you know,
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: not come that day, Paul if you don't want to wow, Well,
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: when you put it that way, yeah, that was me.
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: I just was gonna say, I just think this is us.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: It's such a great job of just blending time and
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: with the with the characters and showing them old and
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: showing them young. Was that a network show? It was
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: a network show, that's why, and having handed at points.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: But but I just think they I've never seen a
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: show where I could hop in and like you said,
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: I'm like, why am I filling up? I haven't even
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: watched this. If Seinfeld was on today, Fred wouldn't watch it.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: It's like one of his favorite shows of all time.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: He would if Seinfeld was on today, it wouldn't be
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: on network television, like Curb your Enthusiasm to the use.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: He wanted to do other things, which a different show.
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: It's a different show. But but they had no need
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: to be on cable TV, a cable network, because I
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: could see Seinfeld done, you know cable with you know,
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: you know, Jason Alexander throwing out some f bombs. I
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: could you that that'd be great, but it wouldn't make
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: the show better. You never know, a couple of bombs, yeah,
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: you know for effect? Wait, you know, like practice Elaine
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: with the sponge episode A little bit more the context
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: on cable wife, cable. Oh, I've got everything. So you've
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: got cable and streaming. Oh yeah, cable, satellite. He streams
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: things through the satellite. Just because I didn't know, I
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: didn't cut the chord. I added chords. I have chords everywhere. Okay,
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: TV box, let's get back to streaming. All right. So
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: you know, I think the NFL put out yesterday officially
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: all the network broadcast there's all the different broadcasting teams
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: and I think it's Al Michael's and Herb Street, I
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: think for the Amazon. Right. Yeah, So the question that's
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: still no one really has for me, like to watch
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: these games. So you're streaming them and now you're stuck
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: with it, right, Well, yeah, you can't. You can't like
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: change the champ. Yeah, So what's gonna happen? Like you
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: have your Smart TV and you're gonna have your Amazon
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: Prime app that you go in and it's gonna have
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: those three dots. If you're a Comcast, it's gonna say
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: entering a third party app. Yeah, and you're right, you
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: can't easily switch back and forth. You have to get
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: off of it in order to watch something else. Like
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: that's a that's a crusher for me, Yeah, I'll watch
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: a game that I have interest in, but instead of
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: watching like, I don't know, Jacksonville and Tennessee on a
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: random Thursday night that I don't care about. Yeah, I'm
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: not gonna I'm not gonna bother, you know, booting up
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: because I can't go. I can't sit through commercials, right,
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: I can't. That's a problem. I wonder if they'll come
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: up with their own version of yeah, like DVR that
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: will like hold it for you when you return, do
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: you want to come to this spot or rejoin live
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: or ORFA have their option to potentially be able to
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: watch more because the problem with it is it's negotiating
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: a handshake because you have to have Amazon Prime, so
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: it's identifying who you are. Oh I have it, Yeah,
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: but every time you go back to it, it has
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: to check, oh is this Paul okay? So that's what's
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: taking the time. Yeah, And that's like, I just don't
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: want to watch one thing ever, unless it's like my team,
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: you know, like Northeastern volleyballs on you're locked in. Well,
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: they're gonna be really good commercials, I hear, Paul, So
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: you're gonna want to I'll never know I won't watch
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: and I do have Amazon Prime. I remember there was
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: a game on the last year or two years ago.
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: It was like a Saturday that I watched. The quality
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: of it is fine. There's like you wouldn't know that
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: you're watching it on stream as opposed to cable. So
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: I don't have any production problems with it, but I
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: don't have an attention spe like why can't they just
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: do what they do on the phone. When you're watching
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: a video on the phone, you can XT out of
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: it and just keep a little box on and you're
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: you know, scrolling Twitter and you've got you know, like
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: like couldn't that happen? I don't know. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: But that's my fear of cutting the cord. It changes
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: the way you watch TV. Yeah, and I can't watch
- 1:56:21Speaker 1: TV that way. Yeah, I don't know. It's something wrong
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: with my brain. I can't sit through it. It's not
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: just TV, Like I can't tell you how many times
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: I'll be watching like stupid stuff like Jeopardy. Yeah, commercial
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: and I'm missing Final Jeopardy because I don't come back,
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: you know, like it's it happens. Yeah. Well, the millennials,
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: you you just you know you can't millennials. No one's
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: ever called me that. All right, listen, I have to
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: get going because I have a meeting. But why don't
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: you take Aaron before you go? The poor guy's been waiting,
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: all right, quickly, what's up, Aaron? Aaron? Hey, Hey, how
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: you guys doing good? Um? One quick thing about the
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: whole that's for you thing? I think that's for you
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: things kind of Dirk, I can't lie. I think they're
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: trying to make a spicy when they gave him a
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: special guest experience appearance every every episode. But anyway, I got,
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: I got, and Olivia is not hot anymore. Games. Yeah, no,
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: we're we're well passed. That passed. Too much botox? Wow,
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: too much botox. I can't believe my ears. You're hearing it,
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: you're hearing it. Who happened to seeing the good and everybody? No, No,
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: I've seen too much in her. It's just a lot,
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: like when you're talking about kids and stuff like that.
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: It's just a lot with that, I agree, and women
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: getting raised and it's awful, it's awful, it's terrible. But
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: like it was just kind of a bit much. I was,
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: I was more Laura fears Miami guy. But I have
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: a question. I just want two games, a home game
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: and a away game, and I'll take it off the air.
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: I know we're not pens on anything, but are there
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: two games and home and an away game that you
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: guys that are especially interested in, like you gotta be there,
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: like you got a lot of interest in these games?
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Well? Everyone, everyone, Okay, everyone, thanks,
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: I mean just bills, Bills, yeah, bills, But I'll say
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: start but Ravens, that'd be fun. I'm really looking forward
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: to the Raiders. I'll say for the road game, and
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: I'll give you the Ravens for the home game because
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: I don't know the division games are. You know, I'm
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: gonna pick four because complicated I not getting swept by
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: Miami would be great. So one of those. Um, I
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: like Raiders as well, but then I also kind of
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: want Steelers and Ravens. I don't know, so I'm picking four.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: Those are the four. Yeah, a good. Every game has
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: been all good. That's the downside of having everything in Vegas.
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: That's the downside of having everything being so exciting with
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: not knowing what's going to happen. Is all a suddenly
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: all the games are you know, toss ups. All right,
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: so we have all right this edition. I gotta get going.
- 1:59:06Speaker 1: See you tomorrow. Don't forget tomorrow Thursday. We'll be back tomorrow. Yes,
