- 0:03Speaker 1: Here comes to New Chicago White Sox pitcher Sean Newcomb
- 0:06Speaker 1: on the show, Sean, great to have you on board
- 0:08Speaker 1: here and congratulations on signing up a few weeks back.
- 0:12Speaker 2: How you doing, Thanks for coming on and tell us
- 0:13Speaker 2: how it went down.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Its been good.
- 0:17Speaker 4: Excited to get that finally squared away.
- 0:20Speaker 5: But uh yeah, I mean I was just looking for
- 0:22Speaker 5: a place to go and just eat up innings and
- 0:24Speaker 5: really anyway.
- 0:25Speaker 3: That you know the team on me.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Too, so I felt like a good fit.
- 0:30Speaker 6: Do you have a White Sox hat on?
- 0:32Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 0:33Speaker 4: No, I knew you're gonna ask me that that's a
- 0:35Speaker 4: Fear of God.
- 0:35Speaker 6: Has but I was gonna say, damn, you're off the
- 0:39Speaker 6: bad start. When you first flipped that, I thought it
- 0:41Speaker 6: was a Detroit had had. I was like, wait a second, Shawn,
- 0:44Speaker 6: we played together a long long time ago, but we
- 0:46Speaker 6: need to have a chick here before you get to
- 0:48Speaker 6: the south Side.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Just a brand that okay, that's the brand.
- 0:54Speaker 6: That was the Big MLB.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Low.
- 0:55Speaker 6: I didn't know the Fear of God got to do
- 0:57Speaker 6: the Big MLB logos.
- 0:58Speaker 1: So you played with him, ahile when he got traded over,
- 1:03Speaker 1: now what's your Maybe you gave him a line of
- 1:05Speaker 1: advice back then.
- 1:06Speaker 6: He threw to me one time, and we're not going
- 1:08Speaker 6: to talk about what happened. I don't know if he
- 1:09Speaker 6: remembers exactly what happened. I didn't want to bring it.
- 1:11Speaker 5: Up, so I don't exactly So I've told this story.
- 1:17Speaker 6: It was in the cages one day, and I'm sorry, Sean.
- 1:19Speaker 6: I I didn't know if I should tell this story,
- 1:21Speaker 6: if it's appropriate now. But we're here now. Scott brought
- 1:24Speaker 6: it up. You were just gotten traded over for from
- 1:26Speaker 6: the Angels for h Andleton Simmons, and they said, hey,
- 1:30Speaker 6: you got to come catch this. We got this guy
- 1:32Speaker 6: in of trade. We're super excited about it. You got
- 1:34Speaker 6: to come catch him. In the bullpen. It was raining,
- 1:36Speaker 6: So I'm in this bullpen. It's a cage. You know,
- 1:37Speaker 6: they got the nets and everywhere. He didn't throw a
- 1:41Speaker 6: strike like it was not It was not even closer.
- 1:44Speaker 2: So it was nervous because it's you.
- 1:46Speaker 6: So I so after he gets done, I go to
- 1:49Speaker 6: the I think Roger was that Roger McDowell was our
- 1:51Speaker 6: pitching coach. I go Roger Man, that wasn't very good.
- 1:53Speaker 6: He goes he was nervous. I said, was he nervous
- 1:55Speaker 6: about it. He goes, well, I asked him that, Roger says.
- 1:58Speaker 6: I asked Sean why he was So he goes on,
- 2:00Speaker 6: I'm throwing to the big league catcher, and Rogers says,
- 2:03Speaker 6: I looked at Sean and and go, well, if you
- 2:04Speaker 6: make the big leagues, you're going to be throwing to
- 2:05Speaker 6: the big league catcher.
- 2:06Speaker 8: Too, you know.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 6: Anyways, that was like my one Sean Newton story. And
- 2:13Speaker 6: now you've gone on to have a tremendous career. So
- 2:16Speaker 6: I am proud that I was the first big league
- 2:17Speaker 6: catcher you got to throw it to.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that was way back.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure it was Disney was pouring rain.
- 2:23Speaker 6: It was weird, Yes, exactly. It was freezing cold, it
- 2:27Speaker 6: was raining. It was in the cage. I couldn't even
- 2:29Speaker 6: I was so old. I couldn't even throw the ball
- 2:30Speaker 6: back because you have to throw it like this eye.
- 2:32Speaker 6: So I was like rolling at backstep right. Yeah, anyways,
- 2:36Speaker 6: but you've gone on to have a trimnut screw. You
- 2:38Speaker 6: obviously had a nice one of the braves. You've been
- 2:39Speaker 6: to a bunch of teams. Now, what did the White
- 2:41Speaker 6: Sox say to you? Said you want to eat innings.
- 2:43Speaker 6: What's your role going to be. Are you gonna be
- 2:45Speaker 6: a starter A You're going to be a bulk guy
- 2:46Speaker 6: in the middle, a lead inning guy because you've kind
- 2:48Speaker 6: of done a bunch of different things now throughout your career.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Yeah, the goal is to start and you know, just
- 2:55Speaker 5: get to that, you know, the most inning is possible,
- 2:57Speaker 5: and kind of continue what I was.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Able to do last year.
- 3:00Speaker 5: I got settled back in, but like like you said,
- 3:03Speaker 5: I'm kind of prepared to do whatever it takes. I
- 3:06Speaker 5: know they do have some young guys coming up starter wise,
- 3:09Speaker 5: but just for me where I'm at my career, getting
- 3:13Speaker 5: you know, getting some starts in hopefully as many as
- 3:15Speaker 5: possible up to thirty and just kind of taking that
- 3:18Speaker 5: next step building on what I did last year is
- 3:20Speaker 5: my main goal. And I've also been in, you know
- 3:23Speaker 5: with the A's a little bit here the past few years.
- 3:25Speaker 3: And kind of a lot of younger guys and in.
- 3:27Speaker 5: The position of being one of the older guys already.
- 3:29Speaker 5: So just looking forward to kind of taking that under
- 3:33Speaker 5: you know, just getting going with that and sleeping by
- 3:36Speaker 5: example as anyway I can.
- 3:38Speaker 9: What does that look like building your innings up? You
- 3:41Speaker 9: had ninety two last year. Obviously, you haven't eclipsed a
- 3:44Speaker 9: one hundreds since your first two years in the big leaues.
- 3:46Speaker 6: What does that look like?
- 3:47Speaker 9: Because no player and maybe you can tell me if
- 3:50Speaker 9: I'm wrong, but no player goes in the off seat.
- 3:52Speaker 9: Is like, you know, if I just have a mediocre
- 3:55Speaker 9: first half, like you're working out and you're like, dude,
- 3:57Speaker 9: I'm gonna kill it the first half. I'm probably gonna
- 3:59Speaker 9: make the All Star team. I got fifteen starts under
- 4:02Speaker 9: my belt. What does that look like in the sense
- 4:04Speaker 9: of like, oh man, I want to get thirty starts,
- 4:08Speaker 9: but I haven't done that in a bit where you
- 4:11Speaker 9: know you're gonna go into uncharted territory. And what kind
- 4:14Speaker 9: of conversations does the team have about that? Are they like, yeah,
- 4:17Speaker 9: we'll take thirty starts, but we'll trade you halfway through
- 4:19Speaker 9: the year.
- 4:22Speaker 5: Yeah, it's definitely, you know, one of those things you're
- 4:23Speaker 5: thinking about, just the reality of the situation, how it
- 4:27Speaker 5: kind of pans out.
- 4:29Speaker 4: For me.
- 4:30Speaker 5: In my mind, going from ninety or so innings and
- 4:32Speaker 5: getting towards like one fifty doesn't sound that crazy, just
- 4:35Speaker 5: because in my mind I've always been, you know, a
- 4:38Speaker 5: starter and all that kind of stuff obviously, just haven't
- 4:40Speaker 5: done it, and that's kind of that's where we lean
- 4:43Speaker 5: on the off season prep thee strength and conditioning, all
- 4:45Speaker 5: that kind of stuff.
- 4:46Speaker 4: And also just like.
- 4:49Speaker 5: The way I've been pitching, especially last year, it's been
- 4:51Speaker 5: a lot less stressful. Finally, kind of flipping it from
- 4:54Speaker 5: when I used to throw to AJ and throwing a
- 4:56Speaker 5: lot more strikes and keeping things in the zone and.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Actually pitching it is definitely gonna make it a lot
- 5:01Speaker 4: less stressful.
- 5:04Speaker 6: Yeah, strikes are each show. I'm gonna give you some
- 5:06Speaker 6: old man of ice. Strikes are always good, Okay, no
- 5:09Speaker 6: matter what, even if they hit him out of the park,
- 5:11Speaker 6: they're still better than walks. I promise you. Nobody, nobody
- 5:14Speaker 6: on earth has ever really yeah, exactly, you're right, what
- 5:17Speaker 6: third or thirty two years old? I think when I
- 5:19Speaker 6: saw your like twenty five, twenty three, twenty four, So
- 5:22Speaker 6: we're a little bit we've grown up in our old age. Okay,
- 5:25Speaker 6: So I'm proud of you. How much you're looking forward
- 5:29Speaker 6: to the White Sox. Okay, like you said, you've said,
- 5:31Speaker 6: they've kind of said they're gonna give you an opportunity
- 5:33Speaker 6: to do this. This will be really is gonna This
- 5:36Speaker 6: is probably gonna be like your real first time where
- 5:38Speaker 6: you know your role going to spring training. How much
- 5:40Speaker 6: are you looking forward to that being the veteran one
- 5:44Speaker 6: of the veteran guys on the staff.
- 5:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's kind of been been looking for it for
- 5:49Speaker 5: a while, you know. I think in the Braves seventeen eighteen,
- 5:52Speaker 5: I was starting to get rolling and then kind of
- 5:53Speaker 5: just hit some speed mumps and never got to do
- 5:55Speaker 5: that where I was sewing up in.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Camp and knew what was gonna happen. So that's definitely
- 6:01Speaker 4: a good feeling, just kind of being able.
- 6:04Speaker 5: To just kind of have to worry about that, just
- 6:05Speaker 5: going and knowing I'm going to be working with these
- 6:07Speaker 5: guys for the full year. I'm pretty familiar with some
- 6:10Speaker 5: of the younger dudes. They have some young pictures from
- 6:12Speaker 5: the mass Boston area where I'm from, so Shane Smith,
- 6:16Speaker 5: Mike Vassel, I know them pretty well. Got a you know,
- 6:19Speaker 5: an old Angels Pitcheon coach that's the Bullbend coach now,
- 6:22Speaker 5: Matt Wise. So there's some familiar faces that will help
- 6:25Speaker 5: get it going. And then I spent some time with
- 6:27Speaker 5: the Cubs, so I loved Chicago and that was kind
- 6:29Speaker 5: of one of the appeals looking at.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Both those teams a free agency just good city.
- 6:33Speaker 5: That I was familiar with, and then again similar situation
- 6:38Speaker 5: to being the older guy again after I was that
- 6:41Speaker 5: the past couple of years and just looking forward to
- 6:43Speaker 5: getting going with a young group.
- 6:46Speaker 9: Can you explain to us as a free agency process
- 6:48Speaker 9: because normally there's not just one team. When a guy
- 6:51Speaker 9: gets a big league deal, it's not quite the same offer,
- 6:55Speaker 9: but everybody's you know, people will say, well, why did
- 6:58Speaker 9: you choose the White Sox over you just talked about
- 7:01Speaker 9: the Cubs too, like what is that?
- 7:04Speaker 6: What's that?
- 7:04Speaker 9: What did you prioritize when teams were coming after you?
- 7:08Speaker 9: Because we all know there's collusion and the numbers are
- 7:11Speaker 9: all the same, but each situation is completely different.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Yeah, that was that was the tough part, was kind
- 7:18Speaker 5: of going through the situations and seeing, you know, the
- 7:22Speaker 5: reality of them. Maybe it's like, say, if I were
- 7:24Speaker 5: to sign back in Boston and the starters that they
- 7:26Speaker 5: do have and all those different kind of things, just
- 7:28Speaker 5: where you fall in the debt chart. And that was
- 7:32Speaker 5: the biggest thing I think, was looking just for opportunity
- 7:34Speaker 5: to kind of you know, build on the ninety two
- 7:37Speaker 5: innings last year, and you know, like you said before,
- 7:40Speaker 5: trying to get to those thirty starts and everything. That
- 7:42Speaker 5: was the main goal obviously, aside from money. And then
- 7:46Speaker 5: like you said, with the collusion and everyone just you know,
- 7:48Speaker 5: absolutely low balling and everyone coming in at the same
- 7:52Speaker 5: exact number somehow and all these different things. So that
- 7:54Speaker 5: was that was my first time dealing with it. It
- 7:56Speaker 5: was eye opening, even more than you already d already
- 7:59Speaker 5: kind of had an idea. But for me to number
- 8:01Speaker 5: one thing, it was just opportunity. And then you know,
- 8:04Speaker 5: just being around those young guys, like I was saying,
- 8:05Speaker 5: we'll hopefully we'll kind of.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Build together and have a good year.
- 8:10Speaker 9: How was it going to Sacramento last year? After pitching
- 8:12Speaker 9: the Colisseum we heard what Seve said, Luis Savarino said
- 8:16Speaker 9: about the mound. How tough was that and was that
- 8:20Speaker 9: really something? And did it improve part way through the
- 8:24Speaker 9: season once they started listening to pictures and how to
- 8:27Speaker 9: improve the mound?
- 8:30Speaker 5: Let's say the game man might have got a little
- 8:32Speaker 5: bit better. Super inconsistent though, like even like the bullpen mound,
- 8:36Speaker 5: if you went out there, it's not it's not your
- 8:37Speaker 5: typical clay. It's not your typical like red or brown clay.
- 8:40Speaker 5: It was like this black, chunked up material that just
- 8:43Speaker 5: would you know, you felt like it was the seventh
- 8:46Speaker 5: inning after you threw ten pitches kind of thing.
- 8:49Speaker 4: And that's just I mean. I actually was with the
- 8:51Speaker 4: River Cats.
- 8:51Speaker 5: And Sacramento in twenty three with the Giants for a second,
- 8:54Speaker 5: so I was familiar with the area and what you know,
- 8:56Speaker 5: just like the way the facilities were.
- 8:58Speaker 4: They didn't make too much too many changes other.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Than kind of just prettying up the.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Pads around the walls. They put a little building in
- 9:04Speaker 5: the left corner for the clubhouse and all that stuff,
- 9:07Speaker 5: and they definitely did the did the least they had
- 9:11Speaker 5: to do to kind of get it ready. But like
- 9:15Speaker 5: you said, the coming from the coliseum, things were so
- 9:17Speaker 5: outdated there it was kind of hard to get a
- 9:19Speaker 5: good grasp on it. Especially for the dudes who don't
- 9:21Speaker 5: have any other experiences. You kind of feel for them
- 9:25Speaker 5: because they're playing in the triple at Ballpark and you
- 9:29Speaker 5: heard Sevy talk about it. With just the inconsistencies. You
- 9:33Speaker 5: go on the road and you're like, God, this is
- 9:34Speaker 5: what the show is, and then you kind of go
- 9:37Speaker 5: back to Sack. But I think they did a good job.
- 9:39Speaker 5: You know, Cotts and the crew did a good job
- 9:41Speaker 5: keeping everyone kind of just focused on baseball and focused
- 9:43Speaker 5: on each other and not worrying about those kind of
- 9:45Speaker 5: little things.
- 9:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Hope, I hope for all those views that they do
- 9:49Speaker 5: get out of there and get to Vegas and that
- 9:51Speaker 5: all goes smoothly so they can all experience the full
- 9:54Speaker 5: the full show. But overall it is pretty wish you
- 9:59Speaker 5: wash it. It was an ideal.
- 10:04Speaker 9: How would you explain it the full show? Because people
- 10:06Speaker 9: will say, oh, well, they got to go to the
- 10:08Speaker 9: Big League's eighty one games. How would you explain it
- 10:11Speaker 9: to those guys who are like, yeah, you know, eighty
- 10:14Speaker 9: one big League games on the road is different than
- 10:17Speaker 9: eighty one big League home games.
- 10:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean just I mean, the biggest thing is
- 10:24Speaker 5: the clubhouse isn't even connected to the dugout, so you
- 10:26Speaker 5: got guys waiting for half innings to run down the track.
- 10:29Speaker 5: So that just the image of that alone pretty crappy looking.
- 10:35Speaker 5: And then just the lack of the second and third.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Deck just a feel for that.
- 10:39Speaker 4: You know, he's playing Division.
- 10:41Speaker 5: You show up in Texas, Seattle, you walk out, you
- 10:44Speaker 5: look up and you see you know, the roof, and
- 10:47Speaker 5: you can just feel the atmosphere versus you just kind
- 10:50Speaker 5: of step out and sack and you just have like
- 10:52Speaker 5: your you know, the one level it's like one hundred
- 10:54Speaker 5: and five degrees and everything just feels like burned out.
- 10:57Speaker 3: So, I mean, it's still the show.
- 11:00Speaker 5: You know, you're still getting your paycheck, You're still getting
- 11:01Speaker 5: treated well in the clubhouse with the staff and the
- 11:04Speaker 5: you know, with all these good players and everything, but
- 11:08Speaker 5: it definitely misses just a little touch of, like guess
- 11:11Speaker 5: aid the show.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Sean, do you feel like you had an advantage that
- 11:16Speaker 1: team has a lot of young arms and at some point,
- 11:19Speaker 1: I mean early on actually in the season, the pitching
- 11:21Speaker 1: kind of fell apart for four to six weeks, and
- 11:24Speaker 1: that knocked the A's out of the playoff contention. If
- 11:26Speaker 1: you take that out, which you can't do, but if
- 11:28Speaker 1: you take that out, the rest of the year like
- 11:30Speaker 1: they were pretty good.
- 11:31Speaker 2: You go over there, your numbers were freaking sparkling, right.
- 11:34Speaker 1: This is how you know it turned into the interest
- 11:37Speaker 1: that you had in the off season, the success you
- 11:40Speaker 1: had over there. Do you think any of that had
- 11:42Speaker 1: to do with you being able to maybe handle some
- 11:44Speaker 1: of the you know, crappy parts of being in a
- 11:47Speaker 1: minor league park, or do you think it just had
- 11:49Speaker 1: more to do with some tweaks that you were making,
- 11:51Speaker 1: whether it's pitch mixeror otherwise.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I was talking about the adjustments I made when
- 11:55Speaker 5: I got to camp and Boston, just finding I wear
- 11:58Speaker 5: my offspeed kind of play, and I learned a little
- 12:01Speaker 5: more about my singer, which has been new the past
- 12:03Speaker 5: couple of years, and that you know, I went into
- 12:06Speaker 5: my five starts felt really strong. I feel like usually
- 12:09Speaker 5: for me, it's like a fifteenish innings or so, and
- 12:12Speaker 5: then I really kind of get rolling, and that's where
- 12:14Speaker 5: I was at about you know, maybe twenty innings, and
- 12:16Speaker 5: then kind of got shoved in the pen once everyone
- 12:19Speaker 5: got healthy and I was still feeling really good about stuff.
- 12:22Speaker 5: So I had had some like four or five inning
- 12:24Speaker 5: outings out of the pen where I felt like I
- 12:26Speaker 5: did really well, and then you know, everything kind of
- 12:28Speaker 5: fell into place there where you know, they had to
- 12:30Speaker 5: make some moves, got moved over to the athletics, and
- 12:33Speaker 5: I kind of just knew where I was at, knew
- 12:36Speaker 5: the team. It was helped obviously being familiar with everybody
- 12:38Speaker 5: and Sacramento and everything, and then just kind of put
- 12:42Speaker 5: on just kind of got into like a grinding.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Mentality and just I had to kind of buckle down.
- 12:46Speaker 5: There for like three or four months, and it would
- 12:48Speaker 5: lead me to kind of where we're at now. So
- 12:51Speaker 5: felt good to just kind.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Of, you know, like be like the older guy and be.
- 12:56Speaker 5: By example and answer questions for certain dudes. And I
- 12:59Speaker 5: kind of just saw a kind of all happened together and.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Went, well, yeah, it's great.
- 13:04Speaker 1: My last one is what do you think of Murakami?
- 13:08Speaker 1: Have you seen any video of him? And what are
- 13:11Speaker 1: guys saying?
- 13:13Speaker 5: I haven't seen too much other than just like the
- 13:15Speaker 5: hype right around when he was signing.
- 13:17Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 13:18Speaker 5: It looks like some serious power, big It seems like
- 13:20Speaker 5: he's like six three six four.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Big kind of dude. That's I'm excited to see what
- 13:24Speaker 4: he can do.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Nobody's more excited than this name sitting next.
- 13:29Speaker 6: Finally they brought it guy that can hit some homers.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah off in the second half.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Yeah, they got some young players. You'll be you might
- 13:36Speaker 6: be pleasantly surprised when you get in a camp and
- 13:38Speaker 6: see how they.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Have some mh yeah that Monk Montgomery six What is
- 13:43Speaker 4: a six four short stop?
- 13:44Speaker 5: That's exciting. And that's a nice nice swing. I was
- 13:47Speaker 5: looking at that Teal too. Those are some nice, nice
- 13:50Speaker 5: lefty strokes for sure.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Tal is a good dude. Yeah, dude, we've got him
- 13:55Speaker 1: on once or twice. Well, Sean, this was great, man.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Really appreciate you stop and buy. Uh Aj will be
- 14:00Speaker 1: watching every White Sox game. Last year and the year
- 14:03Speaker 1: before might have been a little tougher, but this is
- 14:05Speaker 1: the diehard fan right here, so he'll be watching.
- 14:06Speaker 8: Right.
- 14:08Speaker 6: Don't disappoint me, Sean.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Don't disappointment you already did that once when with his
- 14:14Speaker 1: bullpen thing.
- 14:15Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, you're so. You put so much pressure
- 14:17Speaker 6: on them, Yeah, so much pressure by me, by me
- 14:20Speaker 6: trudging over there, like, oh gosh, at thirty nine years old,
- 14:25Speaker 6: I'm trudging over there.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Like like, why are we out here?
- 14:30Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 14:31Speaker 8: That was it?
- 14:32Speaker 6: Why am I here right now? It's raining and it's
- 14:34Speaker 6: fifty degrees What am I we paying to be here?
- 14:36Speaker 6: I'm gonna get pneumonia.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Well appreciate it, Sean, thanks for stopping buying. We'll see
- 14:42Speaker 2: it camp.
- 14:42Speaker 6: We'll see in Arizona.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Yep. Thanks for having me.
- 14:51Speaker 6: Gotta do we have any free agent? Can we get
- 14:55Speaker 6: a free agent update? Before we before I make fun
- 14:57Speaker 6: of your due rag beneath your Camo hat, before we
- 15:01Speaker 6: get to that. Can we get a free agent? Oh? Wow, headband,
- 15:04Speaker 6: I got to keep that head warm. Can we get
- 15:06Speaker 6: a free agency?
- 15:07Speaker 8: Well, I'm not cratsod.
- 15:11Speaker 7: No, we don't have the hair to stop the sweat.
- 15:14Speaker 7: So when you do anything like me, if I'm just
- 15:16Speaker 7: walking or just chewing bubble gum, I start sweating. So
- 15:20Speaker 7: I got to keep it out of my eyes and
- 15:22Speaker 7: to the free agent thing. No, we're still a free agent.
- 15:25Speaker 7: We're still working on finding a job for next year.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Rowdy.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Did anyone see your numbers with the Texas Rangers? They
- 15:35Speaker 1: were pretty damn good.
- 15:38Speaker 7: I would I would think so, I would hope so
- 15:40Speaker 7: at least, But you know, it's a sometimes there's not
- 15:45Speaker 7: all the what's on the back of the baseball card.
- 15:47Speaker 8: So you know, I'm just again trying to.
- 15:51Speaker 7: Be good and do whatever I can to get myself
- 15:55Speaker 7: that job when I get the opportunity, make sure I
- 15:56Speaker 7: don't let it go through the fingers.
- 15:58Speaker 8: You know, the old thing.
- 16:00Speaker 9: Stuff when when you're talking to these teams or when
- 16:03Speaker 9: they start calling, or if they started calling, do you
- 16:06Speaker 9: set like a deadline, do you set a deadline to say,
- 16:09Speaker 9: you know what, if it's just minor league jobs, maybe
- 16:13Speaker 9: I'll try Japan.
- 16:14Speaker 6: Or is Japan out of the question.
- 16:20Speaker 7: I still feel like I can produce and be a
- 16:23Speaker 7: good impact in the in the major League. So for
- 16:25Speaker 7: right now, I just want to focus on doing what's
- 16:28Speaker 7: over here. But you know, like if that's the route
- 16:31Speaker 7: that we take, you know, we go over there and
- 16:32Speaker 7: we make some money and put up some good numbers
- 16:34Speaker 7: and we come back. But I haven't quite dove into
- 16:39Speaker 7: that discussion yet with my agents. So but you know,
- 16:43Speaker 7: it's you hear a lot of good things about what
- 16:45Speaker 7: goes on over there, for for American players or foreign
- 16:48Speaker 7: players that go over there.
- 16:49Speaker 8: So it's definitely kind of intriguing.
- 16:51Speaker 7: You hear a lot of guys want to talk about it,
- 16:52Speaker 7: play there a year or two when they're done playing
- 16:54Speaker 7: and and stuff. But you know, it wouldn't be a
- 16:58Speaker 7: I wouldn't be opposed to it.
- 17:01Speaker 6: Think about the legend that you could become in Japan.
- 17:04Speaker 6: Think about like you could be the new mister Baseball. Right,
- 17:07Speaker 6: you'd have to shave your beard, you could get the mustache.
- 17:09Speaker 6: You could be the next Tom Selick. But think about
- 17:12Speaker 6: you walking up to the plate, because there's not an amount
- 17:14Speaker 6: of guys in Japan that are your size. So when
- 17:16Speaker 6: you walk up to the plate and you start mashing
- 17:19Speaker 6: homers there, you could be a legend in Japan. Not
- 17:22Speaker 6: that I don't want you to play an MLB, but
- 17:23Speaker 6: I'm just thinking like even after, like you get your
- 17:26Speaker 6: ten years in and you're like, oh, maybe I can
- 17:28Speaker 6: play a couple extra years and you just go over
- 17:30Speaker 6: there and start launching nukes over the fence left and right,
- 17:33Speaker 6: and they'll just I mean they'll have cheers, all kinds
- 17:36Speaker 6: of cheers for you.
- 17:39Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean that would be. That would be pretty cool.
- 17:41Speaker 8: Like that would be.
- 17:42Speaker 7: That was like what I was saying, like I feel
- 17:43Speaker 7: like I can still produce over here. And then on
- 17:45Speaker 7: the backside, get enough time, you know, and you go
- 17:47Speaker 7: over there and you play a couple of years and
- 17:49Speaker 7: get to enjoy it. But you know, you hear a
- 17:51Speaker 7: lot of things like that when these players go over there,
- 17:53Speaker 7: like they love Big Poppy, they love the big the
- 17:56Speaker 7: big guys, I guess, and I'm a little more squishier
- 17:58Speaker 7: than most. So I think they would really take to
- 18:02Speaker 7: the to that part, the.
- 18:05Speaker 9: Big, big poppy and big squishy.
- 18:08Speaker 6: I like that.
- 18:08Speaker 8: Okay, yeah, the big the big squishy.
- 18:12Speaker 7: Oh no, now see, now you're gonna get that mex
- 18:14Speaker 7: the the Texas Rangers team whatever they were, that radio team.
- 18:18Speaker 8: They're gonna start calling me new nicknames now.
- 18:20Speaker 9: So so yeah, that's so. That's so last year, but
- 18:29Speaker 9: we're talking about next year. Sometimes in the off season,
- 18:32Speaker 9: when you're sitting there as a minor league free agent,
- 18:35Speaker 9: big league free agent looking for just an invite to camp,
- 18:39Speaker 9: do you ever get any feedback of, Hey, you know what,
- 18:42Speaker 9: we saw, what you did, the changes you made when
- 18:44Speaker 9: you went to Texas, all that stuff, but we didn't
- 18:47Speaker 9: like this. Do you ever get feedback, hey, you know what,
- 18:51Speaker 9: if you could change this, would that be helpful to you?
- 18:58Speaker 7: I bet you My agents have I stick a little
- 19:01Speaker 7: bit removed from it and just focus on what I
- 19:02Speaker 7: can control. But you know, like looking at it and
- 19:05Speaker 7: being a self evaluator, like you, got to look at
- 19:07Speaker 7: certain things. I think for me would probably be the
- 19:09Speaker 7: walks I don't I didn't walk a ton. You know,
- 19:12Speaker 7: there's something that I'd say if those were just a
- 19:15Speaker 7: little bit better, I bet you being a way different position.
- 19:17Speaker 7: But you know, as a self evaluator, you got to
- 19:20Speaker 7: look at things and be honest with yourself. And I
- 19:23Speaker 7: think that was probably the biggest part of my game
- 19:24Speaker 7: that could have used the most, you know, change, And
- 19:28Speaker 7: I think that's something that the soft season we've done
- 19:30Speaker 7: with just pitch recognition, taking VP and treating it more
- 19:34Speaker 7: of like seeing what pitch I want, being honest with
- 19:38Speaker 7: myself if I swung at the pitch and VP that
- 19:41Speaker 7: I wanted to even if it was a good swinger
- 19:42Speaker 7: or not, like making sure I was really diligent about
- 19:45Speaker 7: that side of the work. But you know, as you
- 19:47Speaker 7: get older, you start to master things. And I think
- 19:50Speaker 7: that's one thing as I get older, like I need
- 19:52Speaker 7: to be better at So if I were to be
- 19:54Speaker 7: evaluating myself, it would be just the walk aspect pitch recognition.
- 19:59Speaker 7: But you know, I still want to do damage and
- 20:01Speaker 7: I still know I can do damage. So sometimes you
- 20:04Speaker 7: hit the ball out of the zone and it goes far.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Sometimes you just swing a miss, But I definitely can
- 20:09Speaker 7: be better in some parts.
- 20:12Speaker 6: When you talk of teams, are you talking playing first base?
- 20:15Speaker 6: Are you talking as d H. You know, platoony d
- 20:18Speaker 6: H kind of guy. What what do you think your
- 20:20Speaker 6: role would be better suited as? Because I'm sure you'd
- 20:23Speaker 6: like to play first base. But if team comes, he says, hey,
- 20:25Speaker 6: what should be our full time?
- 20:26Speaker 8: DH?
- 20:27Speaker 6: Would you accept that?
- 20:30Speaker 8: I think, you know, I just want to play in
- 20:32Speaker 8: the big leagues. I want to.
- 20:32Speaker 7: I still, like I said, I know I can impact
- 20:34Speaker 7: the team. I still believe my glove. I still believe
- 20:37Speaker 7: I can play play the field. You know, I gotta
- 20:39Speaker 7: be the biggest target in baseball to throw to at
- 20:41Speaker 7: first base, so that's got to be a plus for
- 20:43Speaker 7: some infielders. Still trust my hands picking the ballfield and
- 20:47Speaker 7: ground balls, you know, like working big on some some
- 20:50Speaker 7: first step stuff this offseason. But I think ultimately, like
- 20:53Speaker 7: I would love to play first But whatever a team
- 20:55Speaker 7: needs me to do is I'm gonna.
- 20:56Speaker 8: I'm gonna do it. You know, I just want to.
- 20:57Speaker 7: I just want to win games and impact the guys
- 21:00Speaker 7: positively and be kind of a presence there, whether they
- 21:03Speaker 7: need me to talk to the young players or or.
- 21:06Speaker 8: You know, just do whatever they need me to do.
- 21:08Speaker 8: I'm down to do it. Right.
- 21:11Speaker 6: You went from Seattle to Texas Last year, Seattle was
- 21:14Speaker 6: what this close to going to the World Series for
- 21:16Speaker 6: the first time ever. Were you rooting for those guys?
- 21:19Speaker 6: I know, they let you go and you ended up
- 21:20Speaker 6: in Texas, you ended up getting hot and having a
- 21:22Speaker 6: great finish to the season. Do you did you root
- 21:25Speaker 6: for them after you were let go?
- 21:29Speaker 8: You know, I became close to a lot of those
- 21:30Speaker 8: guys pretty fast.
- 21:31Speaker 7: It's a really tight knit group of guys over there,
- 21:33Speaker 7: and you know, that was something that was that was
- 21:36Speaker 7: special to watch for them, especially being as close as
- 21:39Speaker 7: I was to some of those guys and watching them
- 21:41Speaker 7: succeed obviously, you know, Cal putting together probably most historic
- 21:44Speaker 7: season as a catcher and them doing what they do.
- 21:48Speaker 8: I love the staff over there. There was no hard
- 21:50Speaker 8: feelings whatsoever.
- 21:50Speaker 7: You know, like we all know the saying if you
- 21:52Speaker 7: don't like it, played better and I could have played
- 21:54Speaker 7: better to stay over there, but it wasn't in the cards,
- 21:57Speaker 7: and you know, I just I wanted them to do
- 21:59Speaker 7: it was best of them. And it feels like every
- 22:02Speaker 7: team I was on pretty much was in the postseason
- 22:04Speaker 7: outside of uh the Rangers, you know, like Mariners were
- 22:08Speaker 7: in there, Brewers were in there, Blue Jays were in there,
- 22:10Speaker 7: so maybe, uh maybe I was.
- 22:12Speaker 8: Like the magic thing.
- 22:13Speaker 7: Maybe that was like four or five years ago with
- 22:14Speaker 7: the Blue Jays, but it could be a lasting effect,
- 22:17Speaker 7: you know, you never know.
- 22:19Speaker 9: Yeah, and and you were getting a playoff bonus coming
- 22:23Speaker 9: your way, so yeah, you wanted, yeah, you wanted them
- 22:26Speaker 9: to make it to the World Series. That was a
- 22:28Speaker 9: nice December seventh paycheck, wasn't it.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Uh, Yeah, that that was I want to really that
- 22:35Speaker 7: would have been nice to double dip get some of that.
- 22:37Speaker 7: You know, maybe some of the Rangers too scoop. I'm
- 22:40Speaker 7: never I'm not a one scoop guy. I'm a two
- 22:41Speaker 7: scoop guy. And that's but you know, you can't be
- 22:44Speaker 7: too greedy sometimes. That's all they got at the at
- 22:45Speaker 7: the store. So it was it was awesome. I was really,
- 22:50Speaker 7: I was, yeah, I was really. I was really appreciative
- 22:53Speaker 7: for you know, the players and them doing that for me.
- 22:57Speaker 7: So one of the one of the teams that you
- 23:00Speaker 7: have played on you could actually join without signing with
- 23:04Speaker 7: a big league organization. Any chance you're gonna play for
- 23:07Speaker 7: Team Mexico in the WBC or do you have to
- 23:10Speaker 7: wait till you find a job first?
- 23:12Speaker 6: And then they call you.
- 23:15Speaker 7: I told them I would play, so that'll be coming
- 23:19Speaker 7: up whenever was that March, we'll be in Houston, you know,
- 23:23Speaker 7: really excited to be back with them. And when they
- 23:26Speaker 7: called me right away, I said, yeah, I wanted to
- 23:27Speaker 7: be a part of That was some outstanding baseball.
- 23:30Speaker 8: Those fun, great group of guys, great staff.
- 23:33Speaker 4: You know.
- 23:33Speaker 7: It was one of those where it was like kind
- 23:36Speaker 7: of like a special moment in baseball to get to
- 23:38Speaker 7: represent my family, represent my country. You know where all
- 23:42Speaker 7: my family's from, and you know, I know, it meant
- 23:43Speaker 7: a lot for them to see Mexico on the front
- 23:45Speaker 7: and our.
- 23:46Speaker 8: Last name on the back.
- 23:47Speaker 7: So sometimes it's bigger than baseball, and it meant a
- 23:51Speaker 7: lot to my family. And to do that for my
- 23:53Speaker 7: family was huge, and I really want to be a
- 23:54Speaker 7: part of it and win it. We're returning pretty much everybody,
- 23:57Speaker 7: and we're adding guys, so we're.
- 23:59Speaker 8: Gonna be a really good team again.
- 24:02Speaker 6: Okay, I'm going to be in Houston when you guys
- 24:03Speaker 6: are there. Does that mean you're going to take me
- 24:05Speaker 6: out to dinner and pay?
- 24:09Speaker 8: I'll take you out to dinner, but I won't pay.
- 24:11Speaker 7: They usually say the veterans take care of the younger players,
- 24:13Speaker 7: and in this case, you are a veteran.
- 24:16Speaker 6: You're active. Active players also take care of the old, retired,
- 24:19Speaker 6: broke players.
- 24:20Speaker 8: You have a job right now. I don't.
- 24:24Speaker 6: Yeah, but I'm not an active player. You're under contract.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Maybe there's some other rich dudes that can take you out. So,
- 24:29Speaker 2: because he said.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Basically, everyone's back, So like his India Rose Arena back,
- 24:33Speaker 1: Alejandro Kirk like, who are we talking here?
- 24:36Speaker 4: Oh?
- 24:36Speaker 8: Yeah, they will be there. They will be there.
- 24:39Speaker 7: So hey, you know what, maybe we team up and
- 24:42Speaker 7: we find somebody and then we get what we want.
- 24:48Speaker 6: What do you want, rowdy, what do you want? What
- 24:51Speaker 6: do you want? A free meal?
- 24:53Speaker 8: I want food? Yeah. Oh, I'm kind of sitting here.
- 24:56Speaker 8: I was supposed to be.
- 24:58Speaker 7: I was supposed to be at home so I could
- 24:59Speaker 7: be eating on maybe on TV, but then they would
- 25:01Speaker 7: probably make fun of me even more so. But you know,
- 25:06Speaker 7: I'm just sitting here hanging out. Don't let the haters, yeah, okay,
- 25:11Speaker 7: don't let the hair. They can't they can't get under
- 25:13Speaker 7: my skin. I'm like a it's a thick layer. I
- 25:16Speaker 7: can't really get under there. I'm not like you. I'm
- 25:18Speaker 7: not like you.
- 25:19Speaker 8: A jam you get offended really easy. You get a
- 25:22Speaker 8: little sensitive on me.
- 25:23Speaker 7: You're kind of like a like a jellybean, you know,
- 25:26Speaker 7: like you gotta it's kind of hard on the outside,
- 25:29Speaker 7: and then.
- 25:29Speaker 8: Once you get inside super soft.
- 25:32Speaker 6: That's you.
- 25:32Speaker 8: And that's what I do.
- 25:33Speaker 7: I get right through that hard exterior and I can
- 25:36Speaker 7: I can get to your space and hurt your feelings
- 25:39Speaker 7: a little bit, but it's okay.
- 25:41Speaker 6: That's okay. That's why you're gonna buy me dinner. Because
- 25:43Speaker 6: you've hurt my feelings so many times, you're gonna hurt
- 25:45Speaker 6: my and I'm assuming. Listen, I've been to Houston a
- 25:48Speaker 6: lot in my life because I've had to do a
- 25:50Speaker 6: lot of Astros games over here. They really do have
- 25:52Speaker 6: great Mexican food there, So I figure if you're on
- 25:54Speaker 6: Team Mexico, there's gonna be a bunch of guys on
- 25:57Speaker 6: that team that know where to go eat and Houston,
- 25:59Speaker 6: and there's probably gonna to be some places that I
- 26:00Speaker 6: haven't been, So I definitely am looking forward to those
- 26:03Speaker 6: recommendations from you and your teammates.
- 26:06Speaker 7: And I'm pretty sure they have hamburgers and hot dogs
- 26:08Speaker 7: for you Americans, so have fun.
- 26:10Speaker 6: No, I don't want that that's that's what you said.
- 26:15Speaker 7: You said, you you Yeah, it was tequila and Fiesta
- 26:18Speaker 7: the last time you guys called me.
- 26:19Speaker 8: Right out there.
- 26:21Speaker 2: That was awesome.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Wait, so I'm looking back at the roster. I mean
- 26:25Speaker 1: there's some guys that have taken significant strides too. Like
- 26:28Speaker 1: this was three years ago. Jonathan Rondo was on that team.
- 26:31Speaker 1: That's a very different player now.
- 26:33Speaker 8: Even Yeah, Jared Durant had like two at bats.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Like this team, dude, this roster looks good. Yeah. You
- 26:43Speaker 2: mentioned Kirk and Randy, So so you've got Duran, Ronda.
- 26:47Speaker 8: They didn't ask me to play.
- 26:48Speaker 7: They said if I wanted to be on the on
- 26:50Speaker 7: the team. So I might be coaching. I have no idea.
- 26:56Speaker 7: You're starting to name off some guys that are really good. Yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 7: it might be Benji's like right hand man.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Yeah, what well, what is this look like then? So Ronda? Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: can Ronda play? He can play.
- 27:09Speaker 8: I don't Yeah, I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 27:13Speaker 7: I just know that I'll be there and hopefully somewhere
- 27:16Speaker 7: in the middle of that lineup, putting together wins for
- 27:19Speaker 7: Mexico and bringing a championship.
- 27:22Speaker 2: You know, down there, dude, this team is is.
- 27:25Speaker 6: You're a vibes guy. Now, rowdy, you're a vibes guy.
- 27:27Speaker 6: So maybe you might just be the hype man.
- 27:31Speaker 8: I might be.
- 27:31Speaker 7: I might have to walk around with the boots in
- 27:33Speaker 7: the sombrero like the guys are doing last year.
- 27:35Speaker 8: That might be me.
- 27:37Speaker 7: But you know what, I'm gonna take a shot in
- 27:39Speaker 7: the dark and say that's not gonna be me. I'm
- 27:41Speaker 7: gonna be I'll be vibes on the field too.
- 27:44Speaker 6: You know how much money you would make if you
- 27:45Speaker 6: walked up to the plate in a WBC game with
- 27:47Speaker 6: a sombrero and boots on hit a homer? Do you
- 27:50Speaker 6: know how viral and how much money you would make
- 27:53Speaker 6: off they do that?
- 27:54Speaker 7: They do that now it's called It's called banana ba.
- 27:59Speaker 6: I played, I've already done it. Oh I sure? Did
- 28:03Speaker 6: I look great in that yellow?
- 28:04Speaker 8: I know? Did you strap that catcher's gear on?
- 28:08Speaker 6: I think I did it?
- 28:09Speaker 8: First one to ever heard a little bit?
- 28:12Speaker 6: Nope, no one bit, no one.
- 28:14Speaker 8: Yeah, but it hurt a little. I know.
- 28:16Speaker 7: The next day you're like, all right, these are a
- 28:18Speaker 7: little sore. We got some stuff going on, but don't.
- 28:22Speaker 6: Was the only thing that was sore, I'll tell you
- 28:24Speaker 6: what was sore my shoulder because I had not thrown
- 28:27Speaker 6: a baseball in about three years. So when they told me,
- 28:29Speaker 6: I have to throw it the second, you know, between innings,
- 28:32Speaker 6: I told the picture, I go, listen, you're my cutoff guy, dude,
- 28:34Speaker 6: So I'm just throwing it to you, and then you
- 28:36Speaker 6: throw it to say because I don't, I don't think
- 28:37Speaker 6: I can make it. You dog.
- 28:39Speaker 8: You didn't hang out with your kids or anything.
- 28:42Speaker 6: No, my kid doesn't want to throw with me.
- 28:46Speaker 8: I wouldn't either.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna be honest, but his kid wants to do
- 28:50Speaker 2: a derby with it.
- 28:50Speaker 4: I will.
- 28:51Speaker 6: My kids challenged me to home run derby the other day,
- 28:53Speaker 6: and I said, kid, don't you don't want to. You
- 28:55Speaker 6: don't want smoke. You don't want that smoke.
- 28:58Speaker 8: Do you think you could beat them?
- 29:00Speaker 6: Oh, without a doubt. I could probably beat you in
- 29:04Speaker 6: a home.
- 29:04Speaker 8: Show, did you, Shay.
- 29:06Speaker 7: Let's okay, let's not get carried away here, April fools.
- 29:09Speaker 8: AnyWho. There's just because you bought it.
- 29:12Speaker 7: Just because you bought a silver slugger in the back
- 29:14Speaker 7: back there and you started placing it, that doesn't mean
- 29:16Speaker 7: you saw a pop.
- 29:19Speaker 6: Okay, never lose it. You never lose it. I'm just
- 29:21Speaker 6: telling you never lose it.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I mean at some point never.
- 29:25Speaker 6: I remember Tonyo Leva, Tonio Leva when I first sign
- 29:28Speaker 6: with the Twins. I don't know how old he was
- 29:29Speaker 6: at the time.
- 29:31Speaker 8: He can't.
- 29:31Speaker 6: He went out there and he used to say, watch
- 29:32Speaker 6: the snaky jump because in Fort Myers back then there
- 29:34Speaker 6: was there was just woods behind the fences in the
- 29:36Speaker 6: minor league, and he would just hit home run after
- 29:38Speaker 6: home run. He'd been retired for like twenty years at
- 29:41Speaker 6: that point, and he's like, you never lose it. Good,
- 29:44Speaker 6: he said, watch the snaky jump. Rowdy.
- 29:51Speaker 7: All right, well, when that happens, I'll come out there
- 29:53Speaker 7: and I will watch You'll will bring you your life
- 29:57Speaker 7: your life alert, and I wheel you out there like
- 29:59Speaker 7: they do have they bring the talent gator, right, I'll
- 30:01Speaker 7: bring you a life alert and your in your pedialyte
- 30:03Speaker 7: and make sure that you make it through the first
- 30:05Speaker 7: three swings and then we'll be good.
- 30:07Speaker 6: Whatever team you sign with when you sign In spring training,
- 30:12Speaker 6: we're doing a spring training tour and I'm going to
- 30:14Speaker 6: almost every camp. We'll just do it on a backfield
- 30:18Speaker 6: after before the show or after the show. We'll get
- 30:22Speaker 6: someone out there to chuck us some balls.
- 30:23Speaker 4: All.
- 30:24Speaker 7: It would be better if you if you came out
- 30:27Speaker 7: like Johnny Knoxville, like the grandpa and just looked really
- 30:30Speaker 7: old and nobody knew like.
- 30:33Speaker 8: That was you, and then you did it, they'd be like,
- 30:35Speaker 8: oh that makes sense.
- 30:36Speaker 7: Those rollovers and top spinners into the stands. Then they'd
- 30:38Speaker 7: be like okay. But if you come out like normal,
- 30:40Speaker 7: they be like, wow, this is not good. Look, this
- 30:43Speaker 7: is this is sad for him.
- 30:45Speaker 6: Mm hmm, okay, okay, to deal, you guys could have the.
- 30:55Speaker 8: Last seven years, I got more homers. Just want you
- 30:57Speaker 8: to know that, well, I mean, I hope, so, I
- 31:02Speaker 8: hope so. I just want you to know I.
- 31:04Speaker 6: Have won more home run deer.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I think he's got more in the last.
- 31:08Speaker 7: I've been in I've got I think I've only been
- 31:11Speaker 7: in one home run Derby and Pro Bowl.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Did you lose like a ball, Yeah, well I won.
- 31:19Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 31:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I might have snappoke doing right into little Johnny
- 31:22Speaker 7: in the foul territory.
- 31:26Speaker 8: You know what they actually did. I'm not gonna lie.
- 31:28Speaker 7: They did it in low a and we hit from
- 31:30Speaker 7: center field so we can hit into the stands. Now
- 31:32Speaker 7: that I remember it, and I did not do good.
- 31:36Speaker 9: That's exactly what you do. You guys will hit on
- 31:39Speaker 9: the half field at my training complex.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Yeah, my teammate won that, Ryan m Ryan McBroom.
- 31:47Speaker 8: He won that one. That's pretty cool.
- 31:51Speaker 9: Mc boom. Yeah, what a name he's now selling. I'm
- 31:55Speaker 9: not sure what he's selling, but he's he's doing his thing.
- 31:58Speaker 9: He went over to Career Japan for a little But
- 32:00Speaker 9: my question, you were in two clubhouses, one clubhouse Seattle,
- 32:04Speaker 9: Marin News. You had Big Dumper, you had JP Crawf
- 32:07Speaker 9: or you had Julio Rodriguez and you were in the
- 32:10Speaker 9: Rangers clubhouse. We've heard stories that the Rangers clubhouse was
- 32:14Speaker 9: a little just like everybody like did their own thing
- 32:18Speaker 9: and then the game happened and then they all came together.
- 32:20Speaker 9: Did you see that in the two and did you
- 32:23Speaker 9: see differences in the two clubhouses.
- 32:29Speaker 7: Honestly, I didn't see it a ton. I I'm kind
- 32:32Speaker 7: of like a social butterfly. I talked to everybody, hung
- 32:35Speaker 7: out with everybody, played cards with everybody.
- 32:40Speaker 8: I didn't.
- 32:40Speaker 7: I didn't see a ton of that. So I was
- 32:43Speaker 7: just I'm kind of neutral when it comes to everything.
- 32:46Speaker 7: People could say a lot of things about clubhouses.
- 32:48Speaker 8: I'm like, I don't know, I didn't see it. I
- 32:49Speaker 8: don't pay attention.
- 32:50Speaker 7: I'm just out there trying to beat jocking cards and
- 32:53Speaker 7: take Marcus's money.
- 32:54Speaker 8: So that was.
- 32:55Speaker 6: It makes sense, makes sense.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I'm just I'm just gonna hold you go to that
- 33:02Speaker 2: camp outside.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Home Run Derby Champion twenty eighteen Hall of Fame Classic

- 33:18Speaker 7: That was your game when you played anyway, Let's be honest,
- 33:20Speaker 7: you were just a peppered over second and short. I
- 33:23Speaker 7: watched it was a fan growing up. One admitute again,
- 33:25Speaker 7: but you heard it once.
- 33:29Speaker 6: Saying I could still do it.
- 33:30Speaker 2: I'm just saying we missed this back and for we
- 33:34Speaker 2: missed that.
- 33:34Speaker 7: I'll tell you what hitting is not like riding a bike.
- 33:36Speaker 7: So and I know you can't do that either. I'm
- 33:38Speaker 7: staring at your shirt. It's trying to cover stuff up.
- 33:44Speaker 2: All right, Well, here's the deal.
- 33:46Speaker 6: I mean, they're not Scotts size, but they're not bad.
