- 0:31Speaker 2: on in and stay.
- 0:33Speaker 1: We'll do our best to.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Make use my the indoors man.
- 0:40Speaker 1: What is happening? I'm Rob Blundquist, came, I'm and we
- 0:46Speaker 1: are the avid indoors Man. Hi. Uh. We had the
- 0:52Speaker 1: Oscars bro Oscar season. Was here?
- 0:55Speaker 3: Were you able to watch them?
- 0:56Speaker 1: Rob? I was? I was in Nashville. Oh yeah, I
- 1:01Speaker 1: should have been home. Yep, but we got dumped with
- 1:05Speaker 1: like two feet of snow. I forgot about. That was
- 1:08Speaker 1: when you were supposed to be coming back. I was
- 1:11Speaker 1: supposed to be coming back that day. And then Minneapolis
- 1:13Speaker 1: was like not today, you're no old friend.
- 1:16Speaker 3: No, No, it's being as bad as they thought it
- 1:19Speaker 3: was going to be.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But it was still plenty. Yeah, they were saying here
- 1:23Speaker 1: eighteen to twenty two, over the Saturday night, they got
- 1:29Speaker 1: like thirteen inches where we were, and then it's still
- 1:32Speaker 1: snowed on Sunday, so I think I got up to
- 1:34Speaker 1: sixteen seventeen inches. Yeah, where we don't usually get that
- 1:39Speaker 1: much at one time. That's true. That's true. We get snow,
- 1:43Speaker 1: but not usually.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Bliz, it'll be gone by the time you're back. But yeah, yeah,
- 1:49Speaker 3: but it was it might be gone by the time
- 1:50Speaker 3: you leave.
- 1:51Speaker 1: No. The day before, on Saturday, I was in Fort Myers, Florida,
- 1:56Speaker 1: and it was eighty five degrees. I went to the
- 2:01Speaker 1: twin spring training game outside it was It was really fun.
- 2:07Speaker 1: And then after the show that night, we drove up
- 2:10Speaker 1: to Nashville. I heard that we were getting two feet
- 2:12Speaker 1: of snow and I had to stay in Nashville another day. Wow,
- 2:15Speaker 1: there's worse places to be, I guess for sure. But
- 2:19Speaker 1: I also didn't realize that it started so early, so
- 2:22Speaker 1: I really first hour just because I was like, oh,
- 2:26Speaker 1: it's gonna be out seven.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I was also unaware by how early it started, so
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm with.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You, which I was kind of bummed out about. I
- 2:33Speaker 1: love seeing Conan do his stuff.
- 2:35Speaker 3: He was great and really, if you missed that first part,
- 2:38Speaker 3: the host really.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Isn't involved after that, like not a right, you know what.
- 2:42Speaker 3: I mean, Like you kind of get their first thing
- 2:44Speaker 3: and then it's they pop in and out, but it's
- 2:47Speaker 3: not really a thing after that.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So yeah, it's like other people get bits, but the
- 2:51Speaker 1: host really doesn't. Ya, that's kind of their time to shine.
- 2:54Speaker 1: So I didn't get to see any of that, which
- 2:56Speaker 1: was a bummer. It was a bit of a rough broadcast. Honestly.
- 3:00Speaker 3: They had some like mic issues and they had they
- 3:03Speaker 3: came back from break once and Conan didn't know if
- 3:06Speaker 3: they were back yet.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I didn't see that. Weird. He was like, you never
- 3:10Speaker 1: never know. I mean, yeah, he's a pro right, So it.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Was fine, but it was just like, oh, oh that's
- 3:15Speaker 3: weird what happened? Ow? Yeah, I thought that was funny.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I made delicious chicken euros that night, pal, Yeah, I've
- 3:24Speaker 3: never made them before.
- 3:24Speaker 1: They were tasty, nice. It was really good.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I even put him like on a skewer, so it
- 3:30Speaker 3: was kind of like the the like silo of meat
- 3:33Speaker 3: that you get in the fancy places and baked him.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh yeah nice. Did you get to watch the whole broadcast,
- 3:41Speaker 1: bang Buddy? Yeah, tipped to tail. I was there.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Mostly great. Uh actually, really, there wasn't anything that was weird.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I didn't think this year too much other than my
- 3:55Speaker 3: old diatribe, why are we ever cutting these people off
- 3:59Speaker 3: when they're talking? It makes me crazy on the inside.
- 4:01Speaker 3: There was only the one that was really bad this year,
- 4:05Speaker 3: and that I can't even remember what category it was.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Was it song or something that a guy was going
- 4:13Speaker 3: and they like cut it off and they actually lowered
- 4:16Speaker 3: the mic, which Conan talked about. He was like, just
- 4:19Speaker 3: lowered the mic from the guy brutal, and like the
- 4:22Speaker 3: other person that was winning was like jumping up and
- 4:24Speaker 3: down like no, let him talk, and it was just
- 4:27Speaker 3: it made me sad. I was just like, this is
- 4:29Speaker 3: going to YouTube. Can we just can we like give
- 4:33Speaker 3: him a camera off stage and they can talk for
- 4:35Speaker 3: as long as they want and I can choose if
- 4:37Speaker 3: I listen to it or.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Something like, I don't know, right, it just bums me out,
- 4:41Speaker 1: but they don't get to have their little moment. But yeah, whatever.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Otherwise it was pretty fun. Yeah, and most of the
- 4:48Speaker 1: things went the way I was hoping it was going
- 4:51Speaker 1: to go, and certainly the way you thought they would. Yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 1: for sure. For the listener, I did win again this year.
- 4:57Speaker 1: He's a winner. Guys, he's a winner. Answer, and he's
- 5:00Speaker 1: good at stuff. Well, lot, I got four wrong. That's
- 5:07Speaker 1: pretty good, dude, it was pretty good. This is one
- 5:10Speaker 1: of my better years. What I get six wrong? You
- 5:13Speaker 1: got eight wrong. I don't believe that. I thought it
- 5:16Speaker 1: was I thought it was I thought it was six.
- 5:21Speaker 1: But most of the folks that played did worse than that. Yeah,
- 5:25Speaker 1: there was one patron, Sarah June. She just had the
- 5:30Speaker 1: exact same answers I did. She's a cheater. No, I'm
- 5:35Speaker 1: just saying that completely tied. We didn't just have four incorrect.
- 5:41Speaker 1: They were the exact same answers.
- 5:43Speaker 3: So well, so they don't get to pick anything for
- 5:46Speaker 3: us then, because I'm going to consider you a winner,
- 5:50Speaker 3: but you get to pick something for me and I
- 5:53Speaker 3: will watch it someday.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I still got to figure it out. I got to
- 5:56Speaker 1: figure it out. If you have anything, you know, we
- 5:59Speaker 1: can be nice. We can make you watch something, just
- 6:03Speaker 1: a classic that you've never seen, that you've wanted to see.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I think that it's always a good excuse.
- 6:09Speaker 3: I love that, I love it and fortuitous because the
- 6:12Speaker 3: couple films I'm going to talk about are both classics
- 6:15Speaker 3: that I had never seen. But Rob, I'd like to
- 6:17Speaker 3: start with your what's the most recent movie you've seen?
- 6:20Speaker 1: Mine is not a classic, it's very new. I've been
- 6:24Speaker 1: on some airplanes as of late, and I watched the
- 6:29Speaker 1: new Ama Thompson flick that's set in Minnesota called Dead
- 6:33Speaker 1: of Winter. Yeah, tell me about this because I I
- 6:37Speaker 1: think it's now on HBO Maths. But yeah, so she's
- 6:44Speaker 1: rocking out a Minnesota accent. However, she did make it
- 6:48Speaker 1: a little more Canadian. She's really going with the story story.
- 6:54Speaker 1: We really see all of that stuff. Yeah, and I
- 6:58Speaker 1: feel like, maybe did you get some of the up
- 7:00Speaker 1: in Bidet? Absolutely? Yes, Okay, well then this is northern Minnesota,
- 7:06Speaker 1: it so maybe that would be legit could I feel like,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I really don't hear sorry unless I'm in Canada.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean it was it was usually folks
- 7:15Speaker 3: that were from Canada that now live in Minnesota.
- 7:19Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, so yeah, I think you're right, but
- 7:22Speaker 1: it's possible. But it wasn't. It wasn't terrible. You know,
- 7:25Speaker 1: it's it's definitely a little exaggerated, but dude, yeah, I mean,
- 7:28Speaker 1: you know how it is. You get people in rural
- 7:31Speaker 1: Minnesota and there's some pretty serious accents.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It's crazy and it's it's so funny because it's like
- 7:37Speaker 3: person to person even in the town sometimes. But aw sure, yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 3: well Jim there, he came calling last night and all
- 7:46Speaker 3: and uh and.
- 7:47Speaker 1: That's what this is a big time. Yeah, it's great.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I love it. This is definitely more of a thriller, okay,
- 7:55Speaker 1: which was pretty fun. Judy Greer plays a crazy person
- 7:59Speaker 1: in this, so that was kind of fun. I'd never
- 8:01Speaker 1: seen her do anything. Well that sounds cool, but a
- 8:04Speaker 1: really great plain movie. It's worth checking out. It's not amazing,
- 8:08Speaker 1: but I've never seen anything like it, so it's pretty original.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Cool.
- 8:13Speaker 1: They did some things. They they zagged when I thought
- 8:17Speaker 1: they would zig. Love that a few times, so it
- 8:21Speaker 1: was it was fun to watch. Nice worth checking out.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Did they ever say where in northern Minnesota they are?
- 8:27Speaker 4: Do?
- 8:27Speaker 1: They just keep it vague? It's a fake lake and
- 8:31Speaker 1: for we definitely have at least one patron that is
- 8:35Speaker 1: from Finland. Apparently they shot most of it over there.
- 8:39Speaker 1: No Bucky Ducks. I like it. Yeah, well, very cool.
- 8:43Speaker 1: But so what was the last movie you watched? So
- 8:46Speaker 1: I watched a film I don't know.
- 8:47Speaker 3: If you've ever heard of it, it's called The Godfather
- 8:49Speaker 3: Part two.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And this was when you had never seen I'd never
- 8:52Speaker 1: seen it.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So if you remember when I did the three hundred
- 8:57Speaker 3: and sixty five movies in a year the year before
- 9:01Speaker 3: and the global pandemic, I'll have you remember when I
- 9:05Speaker 3: could have been.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Out with friends.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I finished the year with The Godfather Part one because
- 9:11Speaker 3: I just felt like i'd never seen it.
- 9:13Speaker 1: It felt kind of right, right, So it was fun. Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 1: it was a good.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Time, and just hadn't seen this one yet. And it
- 9:19Speaker 3: turns out it was, you know, great to see because
- 9:23Speaker 3: I got to see Diane Keaton again, which was really fun. Yeah,
- 9:26Speaker 3: Robert Duchar obviously was in it.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, I mean like I just kind of.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Forgot that they were both in it until you know,
- 9:33Speaker 3: I started watching it. I also feel like, again, right,
- 9:39Speaker 3: when a movie becomes such a part of our like zeitgeist,
- 9:43Speaker 3: you kind of know what's happening, Like I knew the Freid, Oh,
- 9:46Speaker 3: I know it was you, you broke my heart, you know,
- 9:48Speaker 3: like all that stuff. Really fun to watch, though I
- 9:52Speaker 3: was a little worried at the top because it's three
- 9:54Speaker 3: hours and twenty minutes and I was like, oh.
- 9:57Speaker 1: This guy. I didn't realize it was that long.
- 9:59Speaker 3: But yeah, honestly, it clips right along, like it's pretty fun.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I had a great time. It's an epic.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Obviously, so it does take you through like multiple lifestyle
- 10:10Speaker 3: and they have like some flashback stuffs and too, have
- 10:12Speaker 3: you seen Part two?
- 10:13Speaker 1: I guess I should have asked, Yeah, yeah, okay. I
- 10:15Speaker 1: felt like the scenes where they're back in Italy, back
- 10:19Speaker 1: in Sicily, yeah, I felt like that was when it
- 10:21Speaker 1: dragged for me about agreed, and I kind of was like,
- 10:25Speaker 1: do we need this?
- 10:26Speaker 3: I don't I get what you're going for, right of
- 10:28Speaker 3: like small decisions affect the future and whatever. But you know,
- 10:34Speaker 3: that's a small quibble for sure. It's full of amazing performances.
- 10:38Speaker 3: There's a reason it's like renowned. I don't think I
- 10:41Speaker 3: know either of them well enough to say, like, because
- 10:44Speaker 3: I feel like some people think Part two is the
- 10:46Speaker 3: best of the trilogy, right, is that what everyone thinks one.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Of the best movies ever made?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yeah, and I guess I just don't, Like I said,
- 10:53Speaker 3: I don't know them, but it is an incredible movie.
- 10:56Speaker 3: I had a really great time watching it, and it
- 10:59Speaker 3: was it was really fun to, you know, just be
- 11:01Speaker 3: able to be like, yep.
- 11:02Speaker 1: We can knock that one off there. That's really fun. Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 1: that is fun.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It's worth checking out if you want to see it. So, uh, yeah,
- 11:08Speaker 3: what have you been streaming?
- 11:11Speaker 1: I watched the new Alan Richson flick on Netflix. Oh yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 1: what's that one called? It's called War Machine. How is that?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Because I've seen that a couple of times and I've
- 11:22Speaker 1: been like, yeah, maybe, yeah. I kind of watched it
- 11:27Speaker 1: on a whim. Really you're full of whimsy, I really am.
- 11:32Speaker 1: But I knew I was going to have a long
- 11:34Speaker 1: bus ride and I was like, eh, maybe i'll just
- 11:36Speaker 1: download this. Yeah, but yeah, I thought it was going
- 11:39Speaker 1: to be one thing, and then about a third of
- 11:42Speaker 1: the way in it turned into something completely different, which
- 11:45Speaker 1: made it even more fun. That's cool. I like it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: But the gist is Alan Richson is training to become
- 11:54Speaker 1: an Army ranger and he's got some trauma he's dealing with.
- 11:59Speaker 1: That's the reason he's becoming a ranger. It's a ton
- 12:03Speaker 1: of action, kind of reminds me of like a Schwarzenegger
- 12:06Speaker 1: or Stallone movie from like the eighties or nineties. Pretty violent.
- 12:12Speaker 1: If you're not into that some pretty gruesome stuff goes down.
- 12:18Speaker 1: But man, I I really enjoyed it. That's cool. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: love it. I thought it was a lot of fun.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And for yeah, those straight to streaming movies you can
- 12:28Speaker 1: do a lot worse. Oh and we have, we have
- 12:32Speaker 1: for sure. Yeah. Yeah, some of them are brutal, I
- 12:34Speaker 1: feel like, so I hear. And this one, this one
- 12:38Speaker 1: was kind of long, but it didn't feel too long. Okay.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not great news that it felt long because
- 12:46Speaker 3: it's an hour forty six so it's not even that long.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Is that all it is? That's what it says. I
- 12:52Speaker 1: would have guessed over two hours for sure. Yeah, but
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know I was. It was also kind of late.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I was in my bunk, I get it if and
- 13:02Speaker 1: it was Yeah. I had started it like almost around midnight,
- 13:05Speaker 1: were watching.
- 13:06Speaker 3: You're into those kinds of things, totally, Okay, that's great.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Why you started a movie around midn'tight? I just glossed
- 13:12Speaker 3: right over that.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I know, dude, it was crazy. I knew. I knew
- 13:17Speaker 1: I didn't have anything going on the next day at all,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and I could just and we weren't even going to
- 13:21Speaker 1: roll into Nashville until noon, so it was just like.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yes, I'm going to it's going to be on a bus.
- 13:25Speaker 3: In fact, maybe this is better.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I'll sleep in a little bit. Yeah, totally totally nice dude.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But that's on Netflix if you want to check it out.
- 13:33Speaker 1: What have you been streamed? Loved it?
- 13:36Speaker 3: HBO or HBO Max. I don't know how things work anymore.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I saw an even older.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Film, wait is it older? Yes, it is older.
- 13:46Speaker 3: From nineteen hundred and sixty eight, Rob. I watched two
- 13:50Speaker 3: thousand and one A Space Odyssey.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I have never seen that much.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I know, right, but I felt like we've heard so
- 13:56Speaker 3: much about it. It's obviously weird, and honestly what made
- 13:59Speaker 3: me kind of be like, oh, I'm gonna do that.
- 14:01Speaker 3: I'm so stoked for the the uh project tail Mary
- 14:05Speaker 3: that's coming out this week.
- 14:06Speaker 1: And I read something.
- 14:09Speaker 3: A review of it or something that was just like
- 14:12Speaker 3: a lot of stuff from two thousand and one of
- 14:14Speaker 3: Space Odyssey is like sort of referenced in this just
- 14:17Speaker 3: from like visuals and stuff like that. So I was like,
- 14:19Speaker 3: I've never seen that. I'm gonna check that out.
- 14:21Speaker 1: That sounds like a fun thing to do. Cool. This
- 14:24Speaker 1: movie is beautifully shot.
- 14:26Speaker 3: You can tell even though it's from nineteen sixty eight
- 14:30Speaker 3: that it was like super groundbreaking for the moment, and
- 14:33Speaker 3: you can really see the influence of these space movies
- 14:37Speaker 3: that have happened, you know, or that have like followed
- 14:40Speaker 3: it in time. Like some of the shots, I'm.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Like, oh that.
- 14:43Speaker 3: In fact, one of them, how the spaceship is going
- 14:46Speaker 3: through space is the same shot as in Spaceballs. But
- 14:51Speaker 3: in space Balls it's obviously the lady of like the
- 14:53Speaker 3: vacuumen stuff.
- 14:54Speaker 1: You know.
- 14:55Speaker 3: It's like I was just like, oh, that's they were
- 14:58Speaker 3: referencing that, and I didn't know that, Like, so I'm
- 15:01Speaker 3: coming at it reverse and this like the space scenes
- 15:06Speaker 3: for nineteen sixty eight, Like it was weird.
- 15:08Speaker 1: To think about.
- 15:09Speaker 3: We hadn't been to the moon, but they made this
- 15:12Speaker 3: space movie and it was really cool and looked really great.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Honestly, like they.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Did a great job with it. I like the plot
- 15:20Speaker 3: of the movie is a miss for me, Like I
- 15:22Speaker 3: just don't really get it. It's they do some weird stuff.
- 15:26Speaker 3: It's it's very esoteric, which is kind of fun in
- 15:28Speaker 3: its own way. But this one is it was two
- 15:31Speaker 3: and a half hours long, and it felt much longer
- 15:34Speaker 3: than The Godfather Part two. To me, like there was
- 15:36Speaker 3: one point ka well because they kind of do the
- 15:39Speaker 3: tree of life thing at one point where he's sure
- 15:42Speaker 3: there's like space Shenanigan's happening, and we just see like
- 15:46Speaker 3: shots with different color filters over his eyeball and it's like, okay, bro,
- 15:51Speaker 3: we get it, like mister Kubrick, let's move it along,
- 15:54Speaker 3: you know what I mean.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But it's undeniably great, especially.
- 15:59Speaker 3: For just the like the visuals that that are put
- 16:02Speaker 3: on screen. So it's worth checking out, I think if
- 16:05Speaker 3: you think you'll like it. But I had a pretty
- 16:07Speaker 3: good time with it.
- 16:08Speaker 1: I liked it. It was fun. And another one I
- 16:11Speaker 1: can be like check that off the list. Saw that
- 16:14Speaker 1: was so yeah, it was fun man. So I went
- 16:17Speaker 1: for old school on that one. You did. Should we
- 16:20Speaker 1: go old school now and do some plug a rounds?
- 16:23Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Okay.

- 17:03Speaker 1: they're all great. One of the perks is getting a
- 17:05Speaker 1: shout out. And that's why I started saying their names.
- 17:08Speaker 1: I realized I didn't say that before that. I thought
- 17:11Speaker 1: my computer post or something. I was like. I just
- 17:14Speaker 1: was like, I didn't say that. How I normally do
- 17:17Speaker 1: be there. Well, we give them lots of perks. That's
- 17:19Speaker 1: one of them. Another perk is getting to hear an
- 17:22Speaker 1: extended version of every episode that we do. We usually
- 17:26Speaker 1: do a top five draft that pertains to the movie
- 17:28Speaker 1: we're talking about, and for this one, we decided to
- 17:32Speaker 1: go with our top five Oscar awards we wished were
- 17:36Speaker 1: nominated or I guess Oscar snubs kind of the same.
- 17:41Speaker 1: But from this sort of idea, from this here, it's
- 17:44Speaker 1: our wish list. I like it. It's fun.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I would like to just take a moment and put
- 17:49Speaker 3: out there. If anyone wants to throw together a list
- 17:52Speaker 3: of things we should draft, feel free to do that
- 17:55Speaker 3: because we.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Are running out of ideas for some of them. We've
- 17:59Speaker 1: done a lot, We've done so many.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I think guys have fun ideas, like we might just
- 18:03Speaker 3: use him or whatever. So if anybody wants to do that,
- 18:05Speaker 3: please feel free.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I know people are so smart, they're so great. But yeah, there.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Well, we're here today in celebration of the Oscars that
- 18:13Speaker 3: we talked about at the top. We're here to talk
- 18:15Speaker 3: the Best Picture winner, which was one battle after another.
- 18:20Speaker 3: We've just hammered the competition here this year. It was
- 18:23Speaker 3: pretty it was pretty great. Uh. And it's a it's
- 18:26Speaker 3: just you and me, Rob, It's just just me and
- 18:29Speaker 3: my sense here today talking about this film. We're sponsored
- 18:34Speaker 3: by home Free, so go to home free music dot
- 18:36Speaker 3: com right now.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I love it.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, it's just us, Bud. You want to
- 18:41Speaker 3: get us started with just a rough synopsis, I.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Would love to. Bob is a washed up revolutionary who
- 18:49Speaker 1: lives in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off grid
- 18:54Speaker 1: with his spirited and self reliant daughter Willa. When his
- 18:58Speaker 1: evil nemesis resurfaces and will it goes missing. The former
- 19:03Speaker 1: radical scrambles to find her as both father and daughter
- 19:09Speaker 1: battle the consequences of their past. Nice.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Nice, nice, great read. Let's go to Rotten Tomatoes and
- 19:17Speaker 3: hear what they have to say. Critics have it coming
- 19:19Speaker 3: in at ninety four percent.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Dude, that's like eighty percent higher than the movies we've
- 19:26Speaker 1: been doing at the start of this year. That is true.
- 19:29Speaker 3: We really have been slumming it. Now we're just like,
- 19:31Speaker 3: let's go have a steak dinner.
- 19:33Speaker 1: What do you think? Are you into it? Exactly? Yeah?
- 19:37Speaker 1: I love that. Great call.
- 19:39Speaker 3: And audience members have a tick below that, which I
- 19:41Speaker 3: thought was interesting at eighty five percent. Sure, considerably lower.
- 19:45Speaker 3: But you know, oscars are kind of a critics world,
- 19:49Speaker 3: right generally speaking, Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, so, but yeah,
- 19:53Speaker 3: let's let's get into what we think. It's time for
- 19:56Speaker 3: our hot take hot take A.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I see, then that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 20:04Speaker 1: There's a lot of flame. He's a rocket man.
- 20:08Speaker 3: That's flame, which absolutely understanding is hot at various points. Yes,
- 20:14Speaker 3: all right, great, I can go first. I thought this
- 20:18Speaker 3: movie was really fun. I did get to rewatch it,
- 20:22Speaker 3: which I felt good about because I feel like it's
- 20:23Speaker 3: been a long time since I saw it now already
- 20:26Speaker 3: it came out in September. I just looked that up
- 20:29Speaker 3: because I was like, when did this actually happen? But
- 20:32Speaker 3: really a fun movie. I was a little surprised at
- 20:36Speaker 3: how slow the first like act almost was like it
- 20:40Speaker 3: felt like a slower burn than I remembered. And I
- 20:44Speaker 3: sort of realized that was because then when they hit
- 20:46Speaker 3: a certain part, it is pandemonium like the rest of
- 20:49Speaker 3: the movie, you know, So I think that's why I
- 20:52Speaker 3: didn't just feel that way. I didn't dislike it or
- 20:55Speaker 3: anything like that, but it just was like, oh, this
- 20:57Speaker 3: is like a little more methodical than I sort of remembered.
- 21:00Speaker 1: And then it was like, oh, now they've kicked it
- 21:02Speaker 1: into you know, overdrive, and yeah, I think they had.
- 21:05Speaker 1: The first act was like thirty three minutes. That's that
- 21:09Speaker 1: is what I wrote down on my notes. Okay, yeah,
- 21:11Speaker 1: that's that's a long first act for sure, and still really.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Great and gave us a ton of background. But yes,
- 21:17Speaker 3: but yeah, I just thought that was interesting. I didn't
- 21:21Speaker 3: remember that. I liked the score so much. I thought
- 21:24Speaker 3: it was really pretty and I really liked the plinking
- 21:27Speaker 3: on the piano that gave it, like the the momentum
- 21:30Speaker 3: and kind of chaotic feeling.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Like yeah, dude, it was really rhythmic, and I'm with you, dude,
- 21:38Speaker 1: I was. Yeah, it made it way more intense, really
- 21:40Speaker 1: really fun.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I thought they did a great job, of course, of
- 21:44Speaker 3: like talking about things that are like, you know, sort
- 21:48Speaker 3: of like fascist governments and things like that, revolutions in
- 21:52Speaker 3: a way that wasn't like this is who we're talking about.
- 21:55Speaker 3: It was kind of a timeless thing, I felt like,
- 21:57Speaker 3: which is interesting. And then to to juxtapose it against
- 22:02Speaker 3: the Christmas Adventurers Club and have it be like so
- 22:05Speaker 3: farcical almost was really good, I thought, because it kept
- 22:10Speaker 3: it from kind of turning too serious.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Almost.
- 22:13Speaker 3: It obviously still has those shades of those things right
- 22:16Speaker 3: that you know, we don't love obviously, but I don't know,
- 22:21Speaker 3: like the Hale, Saint Nick and all that stuff, like
- 22:24Speaker 3: it's it's so gross, but it's it's like just cartoonish
- 22:28Speaker 3: enough that it's almost like Tarantino with his gore and stuff,
- 22:31Speaker 3: where it's like, well, you make it so crazy that I.
- 22:34Speaker 1: It's not as yucky then or something somehow, I don't know,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I thought it was hilarious.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I love it, really fun and a way to bring
- 22:42Speaker 3: you know, some joy into a really.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Gross subject, right that they that they went into.
- 22:47Speaker 3: But I just thought they handled all that really well
- 22:50Speaker 3: and it was super super fun. I think though, my
- 22:54Speaker 3: hottest take I don't like Sean Pann in this movie
- 23:00Speaker 3: that I don't like him. I think we all, as
- 23:02Speaker 3: we know.
- 23:03Speaker 1: We all agree that character is flawed.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I don't love the performance. I think it's kind of cartoony,
- 23:09Speaker 3: and I don't I don't really get it. I also
- 23:11Speaker 3: don't know, you kind of need that. I feel like
- 23:14Speaker 3: a little bit in this and and saying the Christmas
- 23:17Speaker 3: Adventures Club, I guess I'm going against what I just
- 23:19Speaker 3: said that that was fun.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I don't know that. I didn't really get
- 23:24Speaker 1: it the first time that he.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Won and I was a little like okay, and then
- 23:27Speaker 3: watching it again, I was like, yeah, I just don't
- 23:29Speaker 3: this doesn't do it for me. For some reason, he's
- 23:32Speaker 3: very talent to the top.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I don't know why. No, No, it's it's definitely an
- 23:35Speaker 1: over the top cartoony performance. Yeah, totally yeah, And that
- 23:39Speaker 1: just hit me weird this time. I don't know why,
- 23:41Speaker 1: but that's my hot time. He made some big choices,
- 23:45Speaker 1: like even his walk was really always looked like he
- 23:47Speaker 1: had a baby, you know. Yeah, he had a weird
- 23:50Speaker 1: gait for sure. He yeah, he did. Just his speech too,
- 23:57Speaker 1: just how he spoke as well, and that he was
- 24:00Speaker 1: definitely putting on a character.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and I you know that's cool, like and obviously
- 24:04Speaker 3: take swing, Like what the hell do I know?
- 24:06Speaker 1: That's great? Whatever. I don't think he's gonna hear this.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I think he'll be okay, But you know, like I
- 24:11Speaker 1: also just felt like they didn't.
- 24:13Speaker 3: They didn't flesh out that character as much as I
- 24:16Speaker 3: I wanted to, like have a moment of like do
- 24:19Speaker 3: we like this guy to oscrew that guy? You know,
- 24:21Speaker 3: like like just like a time, but there was none
- 24:23Speaker 3: of that.
- 24:24Speaker 1: No, he was straight villain in.
- 24:27Speaker 3: The Irredeemable, which I guess which you needed for sure
- 24:31Speaker 3: for sure, and.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Maybe that's ultimately what they decided. But yeah, that's my
- 24:34Speaker 1: hottest take. I just didn't. I didn't love that hot take.
- 24:36Speaker 3: But I really love.
- 24:37Speaker 1: This movie a lot. It was really fun, nice hot take.
- 24:44Speaker 1: This was my favorite movie of the year, and I
- 24:46Speaker 1: was happy to see it with love that it was
- 24:49Speaker 1: up for thirteen Oscars. It won six for Best Editing,
- 24:54Speaker 1: The New One, Best Casting That, Best Supporting Actor for
- 24:58Speaker 1: Sean Penn, Best Adapted screen Play, Best Director, and of
- 25:01Speaker 1: course Best Picture Written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson
- 25:07Speaker 1: and shockingly this this was his first Oscars week. So
- 25:11Speaker 1: much is nuts.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I felt like even during the thing, I was like,
- 25:16Speaker 3: I'm not sure I knew what he looked like before tonight.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Somehow I did, right, but you know, like he really
- 25:23Speaker 3: got his idea because I.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Would always see, well not always see, but I've seen
- 25:28Speaker 1: him and his wife my heart altogether. But yeah, uh,
- 25:34Speaker 1: this was inspired by Thomas Pinchon's novel Vinely. That's cool,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and I've I've never read his work either, apparently Paul
- 25:44Speaker 1: Thomas Anderson has. He also adapted his novel Inherent Vice,
- 25:49Speaker 1: which is one that I've missed. I've heard that, and
- 25:55Speaker 1: I heard out of his novels that's kind of the
- 25:59Speaker 1: more easier ones to get for.
- 26:02Speaker 3: That too, because I thought about reading in here By
- 26:04Speaker 3: at one point, and that sounds.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Like it sounds like it's just more of a noir
- 26:08Speaker 1: kind of novel, but that it's a tough watch. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: thought the cast was awesome. I thought Sinners was gonna
- 26:17Speaker 1: win Best Casting, but I thought this was deserved as well.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean, he got some really recognizable actors in really
- 26:26Speaker 1: small roles. Everybody. Yeah, Wood was just in there for
- 26:31Speaker 1: like a minute, like what he was not in that
- 26:34Speaker 1: movie long enough to be that recognized grade. What else
- 26:42Speaker 1: we got, oh, yeah, all of the Christmas Adventurers Club,
- 26:45Speaker 1: all of those actors. That was just so much fun.
- 26:49Speaker 1: And the Christmas Adventures Club was one of my favorite parts.
- 26:51Speaker 1: It was just like you were saying, I just thought
- 26:53Speaker 1: it was such a hilarious idea for like a secret
- 26:57Speaker 1: hate group was so silly. The Hail Saint Nick, the
- 27:02Speaker 1: knock the jingle bells killed me.
- 27:06Speaker 3: That was the rewatch, and I remember in the theater.
- 27:09Speaker 1: We were just giggling away at that. It was so funny.
- 27:13Speaker 3: And they had the Christmas song right before it, right,
- 27:15Speaker 3: I can't remember.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Where it was now, but it was an Ella Fitzgerald singing, Oh,
- 27:22Speaker 1: I don't remember which song, but yeah, I can't crazy,
- 27:28Speaker 1: I agree with you. The Johnny Greenwood score was awesome,
- 27:31Speaker 1: and I didn't remember it being as great as it
- 27:33Speaker 1: was until this this rewatch. I felt, Oh, it felt
- 27:41Speaker 1: like a film of the times with one of the
- 27:43Speaker 1: main characters being an immigration enforcement officer, felt very relevant,
- 27:50Speaker 1: I thought, And for a film that's that's nearly three hours,
- 27:55Speaker 1: I was completely hooked the entire TiO. That was one
- 27:58Speaker 1: of my hot takes. I remember seeing it in the theater.
- 28:01Speaker 1: I mean, like two hours forty two minutes. What are
- 28:04Speaker 1: we doing? Flew by, never went to the bathroom, which
- 28:09Speaker 1: I usually would. I was not that good an avatar.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I can tell you that I had to go. I
- 28:15Speaker 1: almost went twice. But yeah, my hot take. I thought
- 28:23Speaker 1: that the cinematography was incredible. I thought Michael Bauman was
- 28:27Speaker 1: snubbed for the Oscar Sinners was also great, and it
- 28:31Speaker 1: was super cool that it was not only the first
- 28:33Speaker 1: woman to win the award, but also the first person
- 28:36Speaker 1: of color, so very close. But I thought the car
- 28:40Speaker 1: chase scene alone deserved the Oscar. I think we've seen
- 28:44Speaker 1: voted for that right or picked that.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, I guessed it ya.
- 28:52Speaker 1: But we've seen how many car chase scenes in movies,
- 28:55Speaker 1: and this felt like something that's never been never been
- 28:59Speaker 1: done before. And the fact that we're still able to
- 29:02Speaker 1: do things like that it's so fun with However, many movies.
- 29:05Speaker 1: It's just like, wow, wow, I love that. So yeah,
- 29:10Speaker 1: that's my hottest take. I love it. Also, it was
- 29:15Speaker 1: god rest you, merry gentleman. Was the elefits nice? Nice?
- 29:21Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 29:21Speaker 3: Should we go name our favorite acting performance? Shall we
- 29:24Speaker 3: name the dude the dude?
- 29:27Speaker 5: I'm the dude, so that's what you call me, you
- 29:30Speaker 5: know that? Or his dude or duder or you know,
- 29:36Speaker 5: el dudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Thing, would you like to go first? Sir? Sure, I'll
- 29:42Speaker 1: go first. I'm gonna pick Leo. I'm gonna pick Leo
- 29:46Speaker 1: as Bob Ferguson. I think I think we kind of
- 29:49Speaker 1: take Leo for granted, he's only one one Oscar, although
- 29:56Speaker 1: he's been nominated a bunch. I also didn't I think
- 30:00Speaker 1: he was going to win this year, saying I thought
- 30:02Speaker 1: Michael B. Jordan was going to Winter Timothy Shallomey. But
- 30:06Speaker 1: this guy deserves some more wins Man. It's ridiculous that
- 30:09Speaker 1: he only has the one. He makes every film better.
- 30:14Speaker 1: He played the kind of loser stoner really well in this.
- 30:18Speaker 1: He was funny in some parts. He also was just
- 30:23Speaker 1: amazing that that look of terror on his face when
- 30:27Speaker 1: Sean Penn confronts him in the grocery store is amazing.
- 30:32Speaker 1: His voice cracking when he gets super pumped up and screams,
- 30:35Speaker 1: sathive revolution so great is so much fun. He just
- 30:40Speaker 1: gets all like jacked, And yeah, I felt like he
- 30:45Speaker 1: was kind of emulating the dude in the beginning, which
- 30:47Speaker 1: is a great reason to pick him as our dude.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I like that.
- 30:52Speaker 3: He's also who I picked for a lot of the
- 30:54Speaker 3: same reasons. For sure, Nic, I'm totally with you. I
- 30:57Speaker 3: think it was fun to see him play someone who
- 31:01Speaker 3: was like scared and like just kind of dumb and
- 31:04Speaker 3: you know, I don't know. I really liked his characterization
- 31:07Speaker 3: in this, and also someone who has been through a
- 31:10Speaker 3: lot of like stuff like trauma and things, you know,
- 31:14Speaker 3: like he's on the run, he's dealing with his daughter,
- 31:18Speaker 3: you know, like does he know it's not his you know,
- 31:21Speaker 3: like all these things that are happening, right, And the
- 31:24Speaker 3: part I love best about that character is he, despite
- 31:29Speaker 3: doing everything wrong, still is there when it matters, and
- 31:32Speaker 3: like still is you know, there for his daughter who
- 31:35Speaker 3: he loves, you know, and like all that stuff, and
- 31:37Speaker 3: and does have some skills, like he's just kind of
- 31:39Speaker 3: a nerd too at the beginning, and you know, but
- 31:42Speaker 3: like he's doing stuff with him and he's there. I
- 31:45Speaker 3: thought it was really great, a really great performance, And
- 31:48Speaker 3: I'm with you. I never really was like we probably
- 31:51Speaker 3: should give him the Oscar for this, even though it's great,
- 31:54Speaker 3: you know, but his career is just littered with those
- 31:57Speaker 3: I feel like where it's just like it's.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Wonderful and you're awesome.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Like like how does he not win supporting for uh
- 32:05Speaker 3: uh Jango?
- 32:07Speaker 1: Like come on, you know that is such a nuts part.
- 32:11Speaker 1: You know.
- 32:13Speaker 3: I also loved the bit where they made a meme
- 32:16Speaker 3: with him, like that was such a funny.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Oh, you probably missed that. It was so early.
- 32:20Speaker 3: So they talked about they talked about how he like
- 32:23Speaker 3: is the you know, the hero of memes, Like he's
- 32:25Speaker 3: just everything he does in a movie gets turned into
- 32:27Speaker 3: a meme. And so they were like, so now he's
- 32:30Speaker 3: gonna give us a new one, and the like subtitle
- 32:33Speaker 3: was this is the meme for I didn't agree to this,
- 32:36Speaker 3: And they just cut a camera to him and he
- 32:38Speaker 3: like sort of looked at him and then he just went.
- 32:41Speaker 1: It was really funny.
- 32:42Speaker 3: It was a funny bit he played along well, but yeah,
- 32:45Speaker 3: I thought Leo was super super good in this in
- 32:47Speaker 3: a in a movie with a lot of great performances
- 32:50Speaker 3: that we will talk about for sure, but yeah, I'm
- 32:53Speaker 3: with you.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I loved him. I thought it was great. Nice. Should
- 32:58Speaker 1: we name some of those other folks? We should? Why
- 33:01Speaker 1: don't you start this one? Let's choose the g I
- 33:07Speaker 1: think I know yours, Nicio del Tora.
- 33:09Speaker 3: I almost picked him for this day to Yeah, he's
- 33:13Speaker 3: so funny. He's not in this movie very much, which
- 33:15Speaker 3: I was surprised by after seeing it the first time.
- 33:19Speaker 3: He crushes every second he has on there. I just
- 33:23Speaker 3: love how calm he is through all of it and
- 33:26Speaker 3: like also in control. I loved his performance. I thought
- 33:29Speaker 3: he was so fun so funny in it, and like
- 33:34Speaker 3: when he's dealing with the cops and he holds his
- 33:36Speaker 3: like his shirttails up and a little dancer and look,
- 33:40Speaker 3: it's so great. It's I just think he's I think
- 33:43Speaker 3: he's awesome anyway, but he was really fun in this
- 33:45Speaker 3: part what you performance?
- 33:48Speaker 1: I feel that, And I had actually heard he had
- 33:53Speaker 1: his own meme, like real meme come out of this
- 33:56Speaker 1: with the he ad libbed the line I've had a
- 33:59Speaker 1: few you A few small beers. A few small beers
- 34:02Speaker 1: is like all over the internet was and he was like, yeah,
- 34:07Speaker 1: we did that take so many times. I was just
- 34:09Speaker 1: throwing different things out and yeah I lived that way.
- 34:13Speaker 3: And he's got just that little like kind of eating
- 34:16Speaker 3: grin on this like he's just so.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I mean he kind of looks yeah he might have been. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 1: I felt the exact same way, and I would have
- 34:28Speaker 1: given it to him as well. My runner up would
- 34:31Speaker 1: have been the guy that you didn't love, Sean Penn. Yeah.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I agreed. He was cartoony, easily hateable villain, which I
- 34:40Speaker 1: appreciated over the top and parts I was telling you
- 34:44Speaker 1: the things that I liked. You know, he did put
- 34:47Speaker 1: a lot into his character. Uh super strange haircut that
- 34:52Speaker 1: he would and then he would put his entire comb
- 34:54Speaker 1: into his mouth.
- 34:56Speaker 3: That was one of my favorite parts, Like it's so disgusting.
- 34:59Speaker 1: But when it was in the elevator and he was
- 35:01Speaker 1: like yes, I was just like.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Before I hate you now like that's gross, dude.
- 35:11Speaker 1: But I loved him getting it was a great choice.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I loved seeing him get teary eyed thinking he was
- 35:18Speaker 1: going to become a member of this ridiculous club. Yes,
- 35:23Speaker 1: and it was a really just super satisfying way for
- 35:27Speaker 1: him to go. That was kind of great.
- 35:29Speaker 3: So he survived, you know, like, yeah.
- 35:33Speaker 1: We think he's dead and the bullet to the face
- 35:36Speaker 1: and the car crash, but then he has that ridiculous
- 35:39Speaker 1: walk with the bloody face. But then we get to
- 35:41Speaker 1: see him like half of his face gone and him
- 35:45Speaker 1: going through that ridiculous story and then getting emotional seeing
- 35:51Speaker 1: his new office and that's where it ends. And I
- 35:53Speaker 1: I just loved all it was. I thought it was
- 35:57Speaker 1: fun for that was who was your run her round? Uh?
- 36:02Speaker 3: Teana Taylor was like kind of a force to be
- 36:05Speaker 3: reckoned with on the screen every time she was on it.
- 36:07Speaker 3: I really liked her. I didn't love at the at
- 36:12Speaker 3: the Oscar. She like put Paul Thomas Anderson in a
- 36:15Speaker 3: headlock as they were growing up for one of the
- 36:19Speaker 3: Mostly it was just funny because they like stumbled then and.
- 36:21Speaker 1: You know they're just having a great time whatever.
- 36:23Speaker 3: But she was really really good in this.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought she was good. I was surprised at
- 36:29Speaker 1: all the hype that she got for it. I thought
- 36:31Speaker 1: she was fine in the role, but watching that I
- 36:35Speaker 1: was I was surprised she was nominated for an acateegmy,
- 36:38Speaker 1: I actually agree with that.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I pick her, but I also agree I don't if
- 36:42Speaker 3: she would have won NFLT weirder about it, I feel like,
- 36:45Speaker 3: but now she did not just got to be like, oh,
- 36:47Speaker 3: that's wow, she's really going for it.
- 36:49Speaker 1: That's kind of fun.
- 36:50Speaker 3: She's not like a fun character either, you know, like
- 36:53Speaker 3: she kind of sucked no, you.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Know, yeah, I mean she did some crazy stuff which
- 36:57Speaker 1: was fun, Like that scene with her and trump Hanne
- 37:01Speaker 1: in the beginning. It was so ridiculous.
- 37:03Speaker 3: They are kind of made for each other in some weird,
- 37:06Speaker 3: perverted way.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but yeah, I don't know. I was good for
- 37:12Speaker 1: her totally, but I was way more impressed with a
- 37:17Speaker 1: couple more people really impressed with Chase Infinity. I should
- 37:24Speaker 1: have picked her, right. She was great for being her
- 37:28Speaker 1: first movie. Incredible. I mean, dude, she held her own
- 37:32Speaker 1: with two Academy Award winning actors and she was basically
- 37:36Speaker 1: with those two for you know, most movie. I think
- 37:41Speaker 1: she has a very bright future.
- 37:44Speaker 3: It was also great presenting that casting award that was
- 37:47Speaker 3: that was a fun way for them to do that
- 37:49Speaker 3: to highlight the casting people. Having someone from the film
- 37:52Speaker 3: talk about how great they are, and I just thought
- 37:54Speaker 3: her little speech was so perfect beforehand.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Yeah, she was great. I'm with you. And the other
- 38:02Speaker 1: person that blew me away was Regina Hall so good
- 38:05Speaker 1: as Deandra. Like she had a very small amount of
- 38:10Speaker 1: screen time, but she, like I'm I just know of
- 38:13Speaker 1: her as being extremely funny. I think she is so
- 38:19Speaker 1: funny in the scary movies, the Scary Movie Franchise and
- 38:25Speaker 1: have That's like kind of what I think. Was she
- 38:28Speaker 1: in Girls Trip she one of the ones I think
- 38:31Speaker 1: so so She's very funny, but dude, she crushed those
- 38:38Speaker 1: like when she's getting interrogated and just the the tears
- 38:44Speaker 1: streaming down. She had a really intense scene with Chase
- 38:48Speaker 1: Infinity when when she sees her at the dance. I
- 38:54Speaker 1: just felt like every time I was captivated. I was
- 38:58Speaker 1: surprised by it. I think Girls in a good way.
- 39:01Speaker 3: She's not not I don't remember what, but she was
- 39:04Speaker 3: in like miss Congeniality to arm too fabulously a bunch.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Of like she's been in so many.
- 39:10Speaker 3: In some movie like that where they're you know, going
- 39:13Speaker 3: out the ladies and they're just going crazy.
- 39:16Speaker 1: But yeah, sorry, I agree. She was awesome. I really
- 39:20Speaker 1: lived a lot. Yeah, who else did you write down? Anybody?
- 39:26Speaker 3: I was taken aback at how old that Kevin? Is
- 39:29Speaker 3: it Tigy the like leader of the Christmas Time Christmas
- 39:33Speaker 3: or whatever their name was, right, he.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Just looked really old, and I think he.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Was supposed to look really odd. I was just like, no,
- 39:41Speaker 3: I just think this guy's wood Harris. It was so
- 39:45Speaker 3: fun to see him, crazy, they said, and then a
- 39:49Speaker 3: lot of Haim Is it him?
- 39:51Speaker 1: I think Hayne? I mean it's that she's from the
- 39:54Speaker 1: band Haynes. I don't know it is it hame Uh?
- 39:58Speaker 3: I think it's obviously they work well together because she
- 40:02Speaker 3: was in Liquors Pizzas like one of the leads.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Or or whatever.
- 40:07Speaker 3: But it was just fun to see her and I
- 40:09Speaker 3: thought she was pretty great. And that scene where she
- 40:13Speaker 3: I guess I'm stepping on scenes, but where she like
- 40:16Speaker 3: exits out the back of the grocery store or the
- 40:18Speaker 3: comedian store or whatever, and it's just like instantly like,
- 40:21Speaker 3: oh my god, yeah, really that got an audible gasp
- 40:25Speaker 3: out of me in the theater, I was like, for.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Sure, Well, she was the first one to get executed,
- 40:30Speaker 1: so we weren't expected wild. That was good. Another person
- 40:36Speaker 1: that was so much fun was Jim Downey as Sandy.
- 40:41Speaker 1: He's one of the Christmas Adventures club, but he's kind
- 40:44Speaker 1: of having a resurgence right now. I like that between
- 40:49Speaker 1: have you seen that clip going around him on Conan's
- 40:51Speaker 1: podcast And he has this hilarious bit where he like
- 40:57Speaker 1: doesn't know that Jeffrey Epstein has been caught and that
- 41:03Speaker 1: he's you know, dad and all this. He's like jeff
- 41:06Speaker 1: Epstein the financier, Like it's been a very it's a
- 41:11Speaker 1: very big in the news. Oh man, And he was like,
- 41:17Speaker 1: I think I would have heard about that, just it's funny.
- 41:21Speaker 3: He's a genius, I mean, clearly, but.
- 41:26Speaker 1: But man, he had a couple of really cracked me up.
- 41:30Speaker 1: That's a great pick and one that I saw in
- 41:34Speaker 1: the in the trivia. But the dude who was doing
- 41:38Speaker 1: the interrogations, his name is James Raderman. That's crazy. He
- 41:44Speaker 1: is not an actor and he is somebody that has
- 41:48Speaker 1: was someone who did interrogations like that and they felt
- 41:52Speaker 1: so real and raw. I was looking up to see
- 41:56Speaker 1: his other stuff and he's done something one other movie
- 42:00Speaker 1: TV work.
- 42:01Speaker 3: I don't remember what it was, but yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 1: But I was super impressed.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was it, and like, what a
- 42:09Speaker 3: fun way to get a little bit of extra you know,
- 42:12Speaker 3: like a legitimacy out of.
- 42:13Speaker 1: That part or whatever. I thought that was great and
- 42:17Speaker 1: the only only other one I wrote wrote on so
- 42:19Speaker 1: many but Tony Goldwyn, who we know from Ghost and
- 42:26Speaker 1: he's just been in so many movies. He was really
- 42:30Speaker 1: big as the President and Scandal. Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah,
- 42:35Speaker 1: of course. Yeah, he's the one that's pretty much talking
- 42:38Speaker 1: to Champagne last time during those interview process. He was good.
- 42:43Speaker 1: I liked him. He's always good. That guy is always solid.
- 42:48Speaker 1: But yeah, man, best cast for a reason. Bro, that
- 42:52Speaker 1: was pretty solid top to bottom. Love it. Yeah, why
- 42:57Speaker 1: don't we talk about favorite scenes? I love it? Show
- 43:00Speaker 1: we name Let's Choose? So is quite simple, really Dingus Dingus.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I could talk about my dingus all night long. Yeah,
- 43:09Speaker 1: that you want to go first, It's easy, I'll definitely
- 43:13Speaker 1: say that. But I mean it's the car chase scene.
- 43:15Speaker 1: It's one of the best shots scenes I've ever seen
- 43:19Speaker 1: ones before that. And then I was just like, what
- 43:20Speaker 1: are we doing? Keep going? Sorry? I mean I was
- 43:25Speaker 1: just completely blown away by it. And then because yeah,
- 43:30Speaker 1: you're going, you're up and down, you're doing that whole deal.
- 43:34Speaker 1: But then even after the crash, like she then, uh,
- 43:38Speaker 1: you know, does the code word? The guy, the Christmas
- 43:41Speaker 1: Time guy doesn't know it, so she's got to just
- 43:44Speaker 1: straight up murder this and then we get that device
- 43:50Speaker 1: finally goes off when Leo pulls up, which is so cool.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I loved that me too, And you know, that was
- 43:59Speaker 1: so it was perfect. Loved that. So yeah, I mean,
- 44:05Speaker 1: that's that's for sure my number one. I love that.
- 44:07Speaker 1: I definitely not even I had that for sure number
- 44:10Speaker 1: one as well. So I'm with you one hundred percent, dude.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I could have watched another fifteen minutes of that, which
- 44:15Speaker 1: is crazy it was and also just so cool. Bob
- 44:18Speaker 1: did a good job.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Raising her like she was smart, she thought on her
- 44:23Speaker 3: feet right, like she did all these things, and then
- 44:26Speaker 3: like stopping the car over the hill because she knew
- 44:28Speaker 3: he would, you know, like she.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Did just a really good job.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Like that's I think that's amazing and kind of a fun.
- 44:35Speaker 3: Then they obviously have like the emotional moment of like
- 44:38Speaker 3: who you know, like all that stuff. I loved that
- 44:41Speaker 3: scene overall, so one hundred percent with you. That's a
- 44:44Speaker 3: great call. I just want to say. The one that
- 44:47Speaker 3: makes me laugh the hardest, I think, or just a
- 44:50Speaker 3: moment that makes me laugh is when they're when he's
- 44:53Speaker 3: escaping with the skateboarders on the rooftops. They're kind of
- 44:56Speaker 3: doing their like Ninja Turtles thing where they're like the
- 45:00Speaker 3: riots are all happening below, and they're like, yeah, going
- 45:02Speaker 3: on the rooftops and when he yes, tries to jump,
- 45:06Speaker 3: doesn't make it to the other side, hits the tree
- 45:08Speaker 3: and falls down all the way down, gets up and
- 45:12Speaker 3: immediately gets tased, just falls flat.
- 45:15Speaker 1: That was so fun. It was so abrupt in the theater.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, that was so much.
- 45:23Speaker 3: It was so fun, and it continued to just make
- 45:25Speaker 3: me giggle like crazy.
- 45:28Speaker 1: I just I loved that so much. I thought it
- 45:30Speaker 1: was too I would actually I had extended pretty much
- 45:36Speaker 1: when Beniicio goes to help him, and just extended all
- 45:39Speaker 1: the way up until I love that so much. I mean,
- 45:42Speaker 1: like Benissio, you get to see I love he says
- 45:46Speaker 1: the line He's like I have a little Latino Harriet Tubmans,
- 45:50Speaker 1: which is perfect, but you get to see like all
- 45:54Speaker 1: of the people that he is like kind of in charge.
- 45:56Speaker 1: That's pretty great, all the while trying to help and
- 46:01Speaker 1: and Bob has that hilarious conversation with the guy on
- 46:05Speaker 1: the phone who's given him a hard time for not
- 46:07Speaker 1: knowing the phone conversations. All of them are so funny,
- 46:12Speaker 1: all of them, they're so funny. But yeah, specifically the
- 46:16Speaker 1: one during that that is really funny. The resolution of
- 46:20Speaker 1: that too is so fun Yeah, it's great, apologize mean it. Yeah,
- 46:26Speaker 1: So I would have taken all that all the way
- 46:29Speaker 1: up to the days because that it was incredible. I
- 46:32Speaker 1: was super into sequence. Yeah, that's really fun. It's really fun.
- 46:38Speaker 3: I also loved the scene early of when she's like
- 46:43Speaker 3: in his daughter Willa is like interrogating him at their
- 46:46Speaker 3: kitchen table for a moment, and then like her friends
- 46:50Speaker 3: come and he is freaking out. He's just like, hey,
- 46:54Speaker 3: what's up, homie? Are you guys cool? Yeah, just sounds
- 46:57Speaker 3: like to you know, like yeah, but really so aggressive
- 47:02Speaker 3: and so funny and just it's so good. It's so
- 47:06Speaker 3: I loved that scene. I thought it was like really great,
- 47:09Speaker 3: you know, just like their relationship, you know, strained, she
- 47:14Speaker 3: obviously like wants to be free to deliver it, like
- 47:17Speaker 3: you know, like, just so there was so much happening there.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I loved that. That was so great. Yeah. The other
- 47:25Speaker 1: one I wrote, don and I've already brought it up,
- 47:27Speaker 1: but just getting to see the reveal of Sean Penn's
- 47:30Speaker 1: character with half his face gone and him explaining that
- 47:34Speaker 1: he was reverse raped and then reverse rape that whole
- 47:40Speaker 1: I mean, that's gonna guy's face.
- 47:42Speaker 3: When he said when he says that and he's like,
- 47:44Speaker 3: I'm sorry, what, Like, he's so exasperated.
- 47:48Speaker 1: It's amazing. It's so good. But I loved that all
- 47:53Speaker 1: the way up to him, you know, being shown his
- 47:56Speaker 1: new office. He's getting emotional, he's fine, they reached Yeah,
- 48:02Speaker 1: and then you just you just hear it. You don't
- 48:05Speaker 1: see it, you just hear it and you just Yeah.
- 48:09Speaker 1: I loved that. That's how you went out. That was
- 48:11Speaker 1: pretty great. Yeah, that's funny.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Well yeah, if we're including that whole sense a part,
- 48:20Speaker 3: oh my god.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I might be all the onestell then, which I'm I support. Sure.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I did love.
- 48:26Speaker 3: I loved one moment when they come and take Billy
- 48:31Speaker 3: Goat I think was his name.
- 48:31Speaker 1: I don't remember the dude's actual name. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 48:34Speaker 1: I mean the guy, uh Somerville, Howard Somerville. I think
- 48:39Speaker 1: you're right. I think you're right. Wow, good job, good job.
- 48:43Speaker 3: But when they like take him and the kids see
- 48:45Speaker 3: him get taken away, I just thought it was so
- 48:47Speaker 3: cool that, like again, they did train for these moments
- 48:51Speaker 3: because the kids then.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Read they were just like the to go in right.
- 48:55Speaker 3: Away and do the broadcast and all that stuff. I
- 48:57Speaker 3: just love a cool moment a show like yeah, but
- 49:02Speaker 3: also they kind of know what they're doing, you know, like.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Really like that little scene. Yeah. One another scene that's
- 49:13Speaker 1: a little Lebowski asque was him having to tuck and
- 49:17Speaker 1: roll my good call, so fun. I loved that to
- 49:24Speaker 1: swerve the car to get him to do it. Yeah,
- 49:26Speaker 1: he just has to make him do it. He's not
- 49:28Speaker 1: going to do it. Would you throw out of your
- 49:31Speaker 1: window back there? Trash trash, a few small beer. Yeah,
- 49:37Speaker 1: and then that so good, those two things, Yeah, incredible.
- 49:41Speaker 1: I do love all that. That's a great call. That's
- 49:44Speaker 1: a great call. But it's but yeah, I mean still right,
- 49:48Speaker 1: I mean car chase.
- 49:50Speaker 3: The climax of the movie, I guess, like which always
- 49:52Speaker 3: feels like a little bit like cheating, but it's so good.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I love it. It's so good, and you even get
- 49:59Speaker 1: the shot of the three cars, like you know, that
- 50:05Speaker 1: was awesome. I liked that a lot. I'm with you. Also,
- 50:08Speaker 1: that's Highway seventy eight. I think I read in California. Yeah,
- 50:13Speaker 1: we're in California because I saw there's.
- 50:14Speaker 3: So many La Springs, I think, or no, La, Okay, Phoenix.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Maybe it's it's southeast of or San Diego in Phoenix.
- 50:25Speaker 1: I guess, dude, I've done that.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I guess it's it's like the Rolling Hills or something
- 50:34Speaker 3: or something like that. But I want to go out
- 50:36Speaker 3: there someday. So I looked it up.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Yeah, because we had the whole family come to San
- 50:42Speaker 1: Diego and then we the next show is in Mesa,
- 50:46Speaker 1: and so we drove from San Diego to Phoenix with
- 50:50Speaker 1: the family and dude, yeah, it was very pretty. It
- 50:53Speaker 1: was very mountainous, and yeah, it was a pretty drive.
- 50:57Speaker 1: That was I thought that was fun. You that. I
- 51:00Speaker 1: love that so nice. Well, why don't we go to
- 51:05Speaker 1: some quotes and let's show me the money. The money
- 51:10Speaker 1: show me so many.
- 51:17Speaker 3: So I loved when Benicia was like, you did nothing wrong, Bob.
- 51:22Speaker 1: We've been under siege for one hundred years. You did
- 51:24Speaker 1: nothing wrong. Don't be don't get selfish.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Yeah, don't get selfish when he's just like, just chill out, baby,
- 51:30Speaker 3: like it's cool, we're gonna get you. I thought that
- 51:34Speaker 3: was great from a number or for a number of
- 51:36Speaker 3: different reasons.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Chicken licking farms, Oh no, I love their nuggets make
- 51:43Speaker 1: me laugh. So yeah, that was very stupid and fun.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Uh God, just all of the phone talking stuff. But
- 51:56Speaker 1: why don't you say a couple. I'm struggling to find somewhere. Yeah,
- 52:00Speaker 1: I'll do some of the short ones because I kind
- 52:02Speaker 1: of wrote down, like the whole ending scene with with
- 52:09Speaker 1: Penn being interviewed because it's so ridiculous. That's a good call.
- 52:13Speaker 1: And then also that phone call, which is a lot.
- 52:16Speaker 1: But for the short ones, I love You're a bad
- 52:19Speaker 1: Ombrey Bos. I really enjoyed that. I've had a few,
- 52:23Speaker 1: a few, what a few small beers. That might be
- 52:26Speaker 1: the quote of the movie for me now, Merry Christmas,
- 52:30Speaker 1: Haile Saint Nick ocean waves, ocean waves, spies. I really
- 52:37Speaker 1: enjoyed that, which I did.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Wonder about because then like the hills are kind of oceany,
- 52:42Speaker 3: and I feel like we even got that kind of
- 52:43Speaker 3: sound effect a little bit in there.
- 52:45Speaker 1: But yeah, I love that. I had mentioned it already,
- 52:48Speaker 1: But I've got a little Latino Harriet Tubman situation going
- 52:51Speaker 1: on at my place. All legit from the heart, Okash,
- 52:58Speaker 1: you know what freedom is? What no fear? Just like
- 53:01Speaker 1: Tom Cruise. That was great. I like that a lot.
- 53:11Speaker 1: But yeah, then then I just have the super long deal.
- 53:15Speaker 1: So if you got some more short ones. Sure. When
- 53:18Speaker 1: he's on the phone, he's like, they're like, what time
- 53:23Speaker 1: is it?
- 53:23Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know, and he's like, let's not nitpick
- 53:26Speaker 3: about the password. That was really fun, right, And then
- 53:31Speaker 3: when the at it's like part of that same speech.
- 53:34Speaker 3: But when the guy is like when he's just like,
- 53:36Speaker 3: just tell me I don't know the password, he's like,
- 53:39Speaker 3: it's a key tenant of the re of the rebellion
- 53:41Speaker 3: to note.
- 53:42Speaker 1: The text and all that. That was cracking me up,
- 53:47Speaker 1: so fun great. The guy's just like gatekeeping really really funny.
- 53:52Speaker 3: These are noise triggers. When he said that, the guy, yes, that.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Is the the long one that I think. It's just oh,
- 54:01Speaker 1: you have the whole thing. Oh I wrote that, Yeah,
- 54:03Speaker 1: I wrote right now. Sure, So he starts screaming at
- 54:08Speaker 1: him a bunch of obscenities, and Comrade Josh is the guy.
- 54:12Speaker 1: So's okay, this doesn't feel safe. You're violating my space
- 54:15Speaker 1: right now, violating your space? Man, Come on, what kind
- 54:18Speaker 1: of revolutionary are you? Brother? We're not even in the
- 54:21Speaker 1: same room here, we're talking on the phone. Like man said, okay,
- 54:24Speaker 1: there's no need to shout. This is a violation of
- 54:27Speaker 1: my space. To me, these are noise triggers. Noise triggers. Listen,
- 54:32Speaker 1: I want to know something. I want to know one
- 54:33Speaker 1: thing when this is all said and done. What is
- 54:35Speaker 1: your name? I need to know your name. My name
- 54:38Speaker 1: is Comrade josh Comrade Joshua, get a better name, Comrade Josh.
- 54:42Speaker 1: That's a ridiculous name for a revolutionary. First off. Second off,
- 54:46Speaker 1: I want to know your coordinates. I want to know
- 54:48Speaker 1: your location right now. What is it. I'm in a
- 54:51Speaker 1: secure location somewhere between the stolen land of the Wabanaki
- 54:55Speaker 1: and the stolen land of the chew Man. Tolerable, man,
- 55:03Speaker 1: You're really intolerable. This is not the way revolutionaries do.
- 55:06Speaker 1: Do you know how hard you are to talk to?
- 55:08Speaker 1: Do you know the information I'm trying to give you?
- 55:10Speaker 1: Your little nitpicking brick. That's what you are, a little
- 55:14Speaker 1: nitpicking brick. And then he goes on so funny. I
- 55:19Speaker 1: loved it. He calls the gray hawk ten. He's like,
- 55:22Speaker 1: you're calling it a gray hock ten. Please hold God,
- 55:28Speaker 1: that's so good. I loved that. And then the other
- 55:31Speaker 1: long one is just Sean Penn explaining what happened son
- 55:38Speaker 1: Tony Goldwin's like, Colonel Lockjaw, did you engage in a
- 55:40Speaker 1: romantic relationship with this woman? Gentlemen? I have engaged the
- 55:44Speaker 1: enemy face to face in battle and in the dark
- 55:46Speaker 1: alleys and shadows of espionage. I was once raped in reverse,
- 55:51Speaker 1: raped in reverse? Could you explain how that might work?
- 55:54Speaker 2: For?
- 55:54Speaker 1: As Colonel Lockjaw, the enemy employed deception. I was drugged
- 55:58Speaker 1: in while unconscious. My brain is not working, but my
- 56:01Speaker 1: power was, and I believe I was taken advantage of.
- 56:06Speaker 1: What kind of proof do you have if you're unconscious?
- 56:07Speaker 1: How do you know this to be true? I don't
- 56:09Speaker 1: know it to be true, but I suspect it. When
- 56:11Speaker 1: I awoke, there was a sensitivity in a private place,
- 56:13Speaker 1: and there was some residue of an interaction interaction. I
- 56:16Speaker 1: believe she was a sperm thief and Sandy says a
- 56:22Speaker 1: seaman demon that killed me. He's so like, that's curious
- 56:27Speaker 1: about it? Demon? No, yes, it was incredible, Colonel Lockjaw.
- 56:34Speaker 1: What would be the purpose of the enemy raping universe?
- 56:37Speaker 1: They saw the power of my mind and body. They
- 56:40Speaker 1: desired it, just like these guys got they're just the
- 56:44Speaker 1: wor ridiculous body though ridiculous. That's really good that those
- 56:50Speaker 1: are really good.
- 56:51Speaker 3: I love when Willa is with Lockjaw. I think it's
- 56:55Speaker 3: wall like, uh, the DNA test and stuff. Maybe it's
- 56:59Speaker 3: right after remember, but when she's like, why is your
- 57:02Speaker 3: shirt so tight? And he's like, I'm not gay, that's
- 57:05Speaker 3: what you're saying. She's like, I didn't say that. I'm
- 57:07Speaker 3: not a homosexual. I didn't say that, but I do
- 57:10Speaker 3: see the lifts in your shoes.
- 57:12Speaker 1: That was good. Yeah, that was great.
- 57:16Speaker 3: I thought that was such a good Like she's you know,
- 57:19Speaker 3: messing with the only way she can't write at that point.
- 57:23Speaker 1: His shirt was very tight. So tight dude. Also, he's
- 57:27Speaker 1: he really had those completely ripped. Older dude has those
- 57:31Speaker 1: crazy bicet veins. Yeah, you're old enough.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Those are starting to look like a problem more than
- 57:37Speaker 3: a know, more than something cool.
- 57:40Speaker 1: I don't know. Hey, that's just me. You must be
- 57:44Speaker 1: able to give blood so easily. God, that's what I thought.
- 57:47Speaker 1: It was great.
- 57:49Speaker 3: When Willa sees Bob again and it's just like, you
- 57:54Speaker 3: should never hold anything back from me, tell me what
- 57:56Speaker 3: you think always, And I just love.
- 57:58Speaker 1: That she immediately just screen what the fuck is wrong
- 58:01Speaker 1: with you? Yeah? I thought that was so funny. The
- 58:05Speaker 1: timing of the way you talked to your father, the
- 58:08Speaker 1: way you talk to your father. God, I just loved it.
- 58:14Speaker 1: What other ones do I have? Oh? How many women?
- 58:17Speaker 1: I don't know a lot.
- 58:18Speaker 3: When he's talking to the gas station attendant and Lockjays
- 58:22Speaker 3: in the desert, he's just trying to find him. He's like,
- 58:25Speaker 3: I don't know a lot ten or twenty. It's like weapons.
- 58:28Speaker 3: I think they're vegetarian.
- 58:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that was good. Such a dumb line, but
- 58:34Speaker 1: it really did get me. I liked it a lot.
- 58:37Speaker 1: I thought that was really fun.
- 58:40Speaker 3: When he's talking to the teacher, when Bob is at
- 58:43Speaker 3: the parent teacher conference, or maybe it's the principal, I can't.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Remember teacher or her teacher.
- 58:49Speaker 3: He's just like, if I get emotional, it's just tears
- 58:53Speaker 3: of joy. That's all and then she goes, I see
- 58:55Speaker 3: this is.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Very emotional for you. Yeah, that's pretty That might have
- 59:06Speaker 1: been all the ones I had, honestly, nice. Yeah, I
- 59:11Speaker 1: think that was it. Well, that was all I had.
- 59:13Speaker 1: Let's let's move on to movie trivia.
- 59:16Speaker 3: Uh nope, yep, that's gonna be boom.
- 59:24Speaker 1: I I scrolled too far down on my outline.
- 59:28Speaker 2: Uh, let's go on to bugs boom No.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I wrote one maybe two, and it's when Will and
- 59:39Speaker 1: Bob reunite after the car crash scene and he's holding
- 59:42Speaker 1: her as they drive away.
- 59:43Speaker 3: That's pretty great, although I put it started with the
- 59:47Speaker 3: who are you?
- 59:49Speaker 1: When she's screaming, He's just like, it's your dad. I'm
- 59:52Speaker 1: your dad.
- 59:53Speaker 3: It's that kind of like even if I'm not your dad,
- 59:56Speaker 3: I'm your dad. I've been the one that's been here.
- 59:57Speaker 3: I chased you to try and find you and save
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: you know, like all the things.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, yeah, I loved that. I thought that was great.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: And then I thought maybe when Willa is reading the
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: letter from her mom and gives Bob a big hug
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: after that was the It was two and those were
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: the two boom. I just I loved that.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Because again, right, it's her recognizing that even her birth
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: mother is less.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Of apparent to her than Bob.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Right, you know, I don't know that like that sort
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: of like chosen.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Mm hm thing. I'll bet I really liked that.
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: So yeah, also, Perfidia, that's it, Perfidia Beverly Hill. When
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: she first said thought, I was like, Oh, they felt
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: good about.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: Writing that name, Like they were like, we're good that.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Maybe that's from the book. So maybe he didn't write that.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: Maybe that was one thing and I didn't remember for
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: whatever reason. I didn't really remember that we got the
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: letter from her. I didn't either, just like they just
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: like they just like let her just completely go just
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: at all. I was like, oh, I guess we did
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: kind of. But it's still super satisfied, like she's just
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: doing whatever she's doing out there. Right, So that part
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: wasn't super satisfying to hear you. But but hey, I
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: won with two. But now you know what I would
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: love for you to do talk about the movie Trivia.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I've been so excited to hear about it. For sure.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: You should have said something earlier.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: The minute he started reading the screenplay, Sean pen knew
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: he wanted to make the film. He called it a
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: gift of a part.
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: For an actor of his age. That's fun. That was nice.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Also, I thought it was fun that he, you know,
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: and whatever. Who knows why he didn't go, but he
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: didn't go, and Coulkin happen to be like, he's not
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: here because he couldn't make it, or he didn't want.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: To be here, or he didn't want to.
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that was so great, or he didn't want I
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: don't know of those fun The title of films taken
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: from a nineteen sixty nine statement from a revolutionary political
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: group called The Weather Underground that was published in an
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: issue of New Left Notes, a left wing periodical from
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: the Students for a Democratic Society. The statement read, from
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: here on out, it's one battle after another, with white
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: youth joining in the fight and taking necessary risk risks.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Pig America beware, there's an army growing in your guts
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: and it's going to bring you down. And of course
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: that first and last line or first and last sentences
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: of that statement were both used as dialogue in the
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: first act of the film.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: So I thought that was cool. Yeah, the pig in
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: your guts? Didn't she say that? I remember who said that? One?
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: I feel like she said, from here on out, it's
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: one battle after another, is Bob right? Leo definitely said that, Yeah,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: and it was kind of like a narration. I think
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: you're right. I think you're right. And it was early.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but I thought that was cool that they took that.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: I'm like, source, but that's kind of neat. I don't know, Yeah,
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: that is cool. Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, Hooterville Junction are
- 1:03:07Speaker 3: lyrics from Gil Scott Herron's song The Revolution Will Not
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: Be Televised Great Song by the Way, which is heard
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: in the film. Each is a reference to a popular
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: sixties TV series, Hooterville being the fictional community, and Green
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Acres and then Petticoat Junction as well.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: So I thought most people would know that, but maybe
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: not everyone young around here. I mean, I didn't know
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Hooterville was Green Acres. That was not a show. I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: watched so much Green Acres on TV land. I loved that.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: Me and my dad love to watch that. For some reason,
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: it must have been on and when got home from
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: work or something.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: I don't remember why. I mean, I watched a lot
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: of those, but that was.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: A lot for that and Hogan's Heroes God, we loved
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: Hogan's heroes.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Your dad was probably like, that's s what happens, oh dude,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: But we saw every episode of MASH. That was our thing.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I skip that. That's when I knew it was time
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: to go to bed. So one thirty am is when
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: that came on back Home on the.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Canadian broadcast channel Married with Children Cheers. Then Mash would
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: come on, I'd be like, I gotta.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Go to bed. Oh God, get out of guess yeah sorry.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: And aside, The exterior of the mansion where the Christmas
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: Adventurers Club meet was the home of Ronald Reagan in
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: Sacramento when he was Governor of California, and I thought that.
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Was a nice little touch. I thought that was fun.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I saw I bet that like had.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: To be Paul Thomas Anderson right, specifically, being like, I
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: would like to use this place for my own reasons.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Leave me lovee.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: This was originally going to be called the Battle of
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Backton Cross, which is the name of the fictional California
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: town that they it is. I guess it's fictional.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I didn't know that either, so I was gonna say,
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: I've never heard of that.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: So that's what it was going to be called and
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: this was going to be a shout out to Battle
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: of Algiers, which is referenced throughout the film.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: And I didn't he's watching. Yeah, I didn't know this.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: That is the one that he's watching, the one with
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: the French title, and it's an iconic film about left
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: wing social resistance to tyranny that informs much of the
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: aesthetic of this film. I guess, so I did. I
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: wasn't aware of that film, so I didn't know that
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: was the whole thing either.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: That was kind of fun and yeah, I've seen watching it.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: What else we got?
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Oh, Teana Taylor improvised the Tony Montana line, which I
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: thought was really fun. And apparently Paul Thomas Anderson doesn't
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: really like scarface, but he thought it was such a
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: fun line and she delivered it so well that he
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: was like, keep it in there.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: That's right after she's like shooting that gown while she's
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: really prayed, which is a great shot. It's because it's
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: a hard cut. It so good.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: That was yeah, because that's kind of the act break,
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: isn't it, Like the Yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: It was so fun. I love that shot.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Let's see a French seventy five is a cocktail made
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: from gin, champagne, lemon, juice, and sugar, and it was
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: so named due to reputedly having a kick that felt
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: like being shelved by a French seventy five millimeter field gun.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: So I thought that was fun. Anybody wants to make
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: a themed cocktail for their rewatch, go for it. I'm smart.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Filmed over.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: This was filmed over seven months across California. They went
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: to Eureka, Arcada, Sacramento, Stockton, San Juan Bautista, Lompoc, San Diego,
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: Los Angeles, and Barrego Springs, and then they did have
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: El Paso, Texas they went to was the other site,
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: but otherwise most of it was in California. I guess
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: pretty cool.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I felt like where they lived, and like when
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: he went through the tunnel and came out, that felt
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: very like you yeah, Northern, Yeah for sure. Yeah.
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: That was crazy where he like punches his way out.
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: There's like toilets in this.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: The hull of this.
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: Tree, like the trunk of result was interesting, weird like that,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: it was cool. Paul Thomas Anderson previously approached We've probably
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: talked about this, but I didn't remember, Uh previously approached
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Leonardo DiCaprio to play Dirk Diggler in Boogie Knights, but
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: DiCaprio declined in favor of Titanic. DiCaprio since said he
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: regrets that decision, saying it was a profound movie of
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: my generation. When I finally got to see it, I
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: just thought it was a masterpiece, and like, yeah, he
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: probably regrets it a little bit, but he probably doesn't
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: regret choosing Titanic.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I can't imagine. I can't imagine. I mean, that made him.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: And also it's a great film too, So but yeah,
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: I thought that it would have been really fun to
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: see him be Dirk Diggler.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: He probably could have done that. It's just a completely
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: different movie. Man, Like I would have to be Art. Yeah,
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: it'd be interesting. Yeah, but oh.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: Paul Thomas Anderson says the final chase scene can be
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: seen as an homage to such classics as Bullet, the
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: French Connection, the Seven Ups, Vanishing Point, the Sugarland Express,
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: and Ronan.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: So I just thought that was fun. Any car chase
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: movie time.
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: We said this was the film debut of Chase Infinity.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: That's pretty wild.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: This was Oh, he mentioned this during the his one
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: of his Oscar acceptance speech. But this was Paul Thomas
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Anderson's fifth and final feature collab with the first assistant director,
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: Adam Somner.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: He died in November of.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Twenty four of thyroid cancer. So they had previously worked
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: on There Will Be Blood, The Master, Inherent Vice, and
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: Liquorice Pizza together. So he had a nice little moment
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: where he was just like, you know, shout at him out.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: So that's hard, I'm sure because they got to spend
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: I don't know, just months of their lives together, right,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: and hours of every day for those times.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Crazy do you know that I didn't get to see
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: like the end of the broadcast. I saw them win
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Best Picture, but Nashville was in the middle of like
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: a tornado. Oh no, they had weather. They had been
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: cutting away every commercial break, Like, I didn't see any
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: commercials because they were all talking about the tornado that
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: was coming up. And then shortly after that, I can't
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: believe I didn't bring this up. Everybody in the hotel
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: that I was in, we all had to go down
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: to like a conference room, Oh my god, which I
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: had never done before. That's pretty wild. And so it
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: was crazy. Wow, yeah, I didn't really. They showed best picture,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: but they cut it off like I didn't see the whole.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: They just split right right interesting anyway, Wow, that's wild.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I'm glad you didn't get hit by a tornado. No,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: we were good.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Let's see. Leo's character takes a selfie while pointing the
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: phone screen away from himself because he doesn't know how
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: to change the camera direction. And this was an homage
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: to Leo himself because he got photographed doing this in
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: real life at the Tokyo premiere of The Wolf of
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: Wall Street in twenty fourteen. So I thought that was
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: kind of fun. That left that end. That's fun and
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: a very bad moment. Not you, You're obviously smart.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: No, no, no, I've been taking selfie's. I've been in
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: the selfie game for a while, for a minute, for
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: a minute now.
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: During a post released promo, Leo and Benicio discussed the
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: post film fates of their characters. DiCaprio speculates that Bob
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: would still be doing small time gigs as part of
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: a band I guess, and Del Toro revealed that there
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: was a deleted scene showing him back at the dojo
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: in the closing montage, revealing that his character did at
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: least come out of that interaction with the law. When
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: he was having a few small beers, he came out
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: in one piece.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: So I thought that was kind of fun.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: The car chase scene at the end wasn't scripted. Paul
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: Thomas Anderson was on a car location scouting for hours
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: and then he apparently he says, I was just thinking,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: I'm never coming to a location scout again, and he
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: spotted the road dips and it's called the River of Hills,
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: the road, I guess, and he started shooting it with
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: his phone and losing the horizon as and then as
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: he like zoomed in, he thought it was even like
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: scarier and crazier, and so then he knew that that's
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: how he wanted to do it, and came up with
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: the idea of Will stopping the car in the blind
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: spot right there, and then added all.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: That to the script. So I thought that was pretty wild.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: Wow, isn't that crazy? Like a moment of like inspiration, you.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: Know, Wow, isn't that that is so cool? I thought
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: that one was really neat. Oh that's my favorite bit
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: of trivia. I haven't heard that that's awesome.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: I also thought this was pretty crazy. According to the
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: director Paul Thomas Anderson, the only CGI used in the
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: entire movie is the vape smoke, so they're not using
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: I'm sure they're doing tricks and stuff, but they're not
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: using CGI.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Otherwise, that's pretty crazy.
- 1:12:16Speaker 3: That is cool, which means they somehow amalgamated that scene
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: of Leo falling from the tree.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Oh, I think a stunt guy did it. Oh really,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's crazy. I'll have to look for that.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: I thought this was one of the award Lockjaw receives
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: for capturing the French seventy five is the Bedford Forest Award,
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: and it's named for Nathaniel Bedford Forest, who was the
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: first Grand Wizard of the clan. So a very appropriate
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: award for a fictional award, I assume.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: I don't know. Yes, I don't know that works.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Let's see Eric Schwig plays the bounty hunter Avanti, and
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: this is Schweig's I love the way. I really liked
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: that too.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: I'm just like, I'm not dealing with this and goes in.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: That was cool. Yeah, Like I thought that was neat.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Apparently this is his second movie in which his character
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: saves a girl's life while sacrificing his own. The first
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: one was Last of the Mohicans in nineteen ninety two.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: That was a long time ago.
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and they say who the characters were, but I
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: don't remember that movie at all. Yeah, I saw it
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: a long time ago.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: But that one stuck with me for a because I
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: saw really young. Oh sure, and there's a scene, I
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: mean it's super old where dude gets like burned alive.
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Oh I know that that scared you, like and it
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: was like execution styles like they all were like a watch.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: It was horrible.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Oh I hate yeah, scary. Yeah, yeah, I think that
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: was all the That was all the tripa I had, Buddy, it.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Was one other thing that was a lot. Yeah, And
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: it was just a rumor really for roles. And it
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: was Joaquin Phoenix and Vigo Mortensen presumably Bob Ferguson and
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Steven Lockjaw respectively. So wow, Yeah, I could see Joaquin
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: in the in the Bob role for sure.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Yeahica is such a good actor, But man, could he
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: play that part?
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. Probably so cartoony, so
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: who knows.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be different, probably way different, way different.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, but yeah, that was all I had. Well,
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: then why don't we go to Judgment Day? Will there
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: be a sequel? Oh? Did you see that little bit
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: of trivia?
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: No?
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: I didn't, please tell me. Tianna Taylor confirmed that she
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: and Paul Thomas Anderson were discussing the possibility of a
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: sequel focusing on Perfidia. What she says, did we need
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: to see what Perfidia did in those sixteen years? Huh,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: that's not a terrible idea. I probably watched that, and
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I feel like you could also dive deeper into Willow's
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: life as a revolutionary. It's probably not going to be
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: as intense as what Tianna Taylor and Leo were doing
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: when they were young, but yeah, that's interesting. Well because
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: she is like an activist, right, so activist.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe she goes on the road and like finds
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: out what her mom had been doing or something. You know,
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: it'd be kind of an interesting both timelines thing.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that goes
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: back to his works, and.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't think that either, But I'm surprised that
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: they've even discussed it.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: That's cool. Yeah, interesting fine, do you want to do
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: this Blockbuster movie game?
- 1:15:43Speaker 3: Oh very much.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: Yeah. We had talked about let's try a new thing,
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: and we have done the Blockbuster Movie game, but it
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: has been a really long It was a long time ago, right,
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: really long time. Okay, And so how we're going to
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: do that. I'm gonna go first because I have the
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: cards here. Oh yeah, and so Buges will have to
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: leave just to put your timer on for like a minute,
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: a minute, because that is how long I'm gonna guess
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: these whatever film category I come up with, No One
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: miner Okay, sounds good? Fine, all right, I have my
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: timer ready and I have the cards here. I am
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: going reading it movies where someone uses magic. H Harry
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Goblet
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: of Fire, Harry Potter and the what are all of them?
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Why am I blanking on all of them? Now? Order
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: the Phoenix? I feel so silly, I will say all
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: of the Harry Potters. I'm just gonna say that. That's
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: how long that took. So let's go and do Let's
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: do Fantasia. Let's do magic. Doctor Strange, he's kind of
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: doing magic, right magic? Oh, the incredible Bert Wonderstone, the
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Prestige Magic Bugs is gonna do so much better because
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: he likes those movies. That's it. That wasn't great. So
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: now I have to try and figure out how many
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: I got Harry Potter movies. We'll say seven of those bugs. Hi,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I think you're gonna do better than I did. It
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: suits your your sensibilities, more coms. And I just was
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: blanking hard like I do. I don't do well with
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: the timers bugs. It's stressful. I'm trying to remember the
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: ones that I said. Oh yeah, see. That's also the
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: hard part about this one, isn't it. Yeah? I should
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: just lay again. I really didn't say it. Oh, I'm
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: remembering one right now. That would have been good. I'm scared.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: All right, buddy, are you ready? Sure?
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: I get so, I get a minute. I just rattle
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: them off.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: You rattle off as many as you can, Okay, cool,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: all right, and I'm hitting I'll do it right. I'll
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: hit this right after I tell you what it is. Okay,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: movies where someone uses magic.
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: Oh, now you see me. Now you see me too,
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: Now you see me again. The last one is Harry
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: Potter The Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter, The Goblet of Fire,
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: Harry Potter. Oh, I went out to order that was done,
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: Harry Potter, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire,
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Oh God, Phoenix, Order of the Phoenix. Definitely Hollows Part one,
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: definitely Hollows Part two. Oh, I missed a half blood Prince. Also,
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: Gandalf uses it in Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: the Ring, two Towers, Return of the King. Additionally, we
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: see it in Oh Magic Magic, magic Weapons arguably, Yeah,
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: what's the Sorcerer practical magic, the one with Nicole Kidman.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Nice. I'm just trying to think of things now, Okay,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: nicely done, you win. Good, you did very good. So
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: I cheated because I was I was doing the Harry
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: Potter was like one, two, three, four, and then I
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: was like, I'm just gonna say all seven after a while. Okay,
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: there you go. There's a part one and part two. Right,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: part one and part two. But I was blanking so hard,
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: and I went to Goblet of Fire, couldn't think of
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: Chamber of Secrets, and I was like, wait, I did
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: the exact same thing, and then it threw me off horror.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: So yeah, you said, as soon as we were done,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I thought of them. Now you see me movies which
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: I did not get. So you got all three of those.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: You got the Harry Potter's, you got the three Lord
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: of the Rings, which I didn't get. You got weapons,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: and you got practical magic. You definitely beat me. The
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: ones I got that you didn't was The Prestige, the
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: incredible Burt Wonderstone. I love that, and then Fantasia. But
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: could we have said forty year old Virgin?
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: I mean he's doing it's close up magic, but do
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: we Why not?
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: A yes? Nice? Oh? I said Doctor Strange too, because
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: I felt like he was kind of yeah, I felt
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: like he was kind of magic.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Y Oh, yeah, for sure him and Olson Elizabeth Olsen's character.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: But yeah, the fact that you got the two other
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: trilogies that I didn't even get close So nicely done.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Who I did it? You are are wiener and so
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: you're gonna tell us how we do our top five
