- 1:50Speaker 4: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said during a closed
- 1:53Speaker 4: door deposition yesterday in New York that she did not
- 1:56Speaker 4: know Jeffrey Epstein and had never visited his island. Meanwhile,
- 2:00Speaker 4: former President Bill Clinton is expected to give his testimony today.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Fairfax County police are investigating a string of eight residential
- 2:09Speaker 4: burglaries that targeted Asian American residents, with suspects stealing safes, casts, jewelry,
- 2:16Speaker 4: designer items, and even gold bars from homes across the county.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Authorities say those break ins happened between mid January and
- 2:23Speaker 4: late February. Recreational advisories on the Potomac River could be
- 2:28Speaker 4: lifted soon as water quality improves after that major sewage spill. However,
- 2:34Speaker 4: river advocates warned that bacteria levels remain elevated near the
- 2:38Speaker 4: spill site and that long term environmental impacts are still
- 2:42Speaker 4: a concern. Louden County Sheriff Mike Chapman plans to seek
- 2:48Speaker 4: approval on March ninth to place school resource officers in
- 2:52Speaker 4: elementary schools, calling it a proactive safety measure now. Critics
- 2:58Speaker 4: say that schools need counselors over cops, and they raise
- 3:01Speaker 4: concerns about impacts on students of color. Arlington County's parks
- 3:05Speaker 4: and rec youth gymnastics program could be cut from the budget.
- 3:10Speaker 4: Despite serving thousands of kids for nearly fifty years. The
- 3:14Speaker 4: county spends about a million dollars a year to run it.
- 3:17Speaker 4: And faces a thirty seven million dollars shortfall, prompting parents
- 3:21Speaker 4: to fight to save the program. And according to a
- 3:24Speaker 4: recent study, husbands apparently at about seven hours of housework
- 3:28Speaker 4: a week for women, while doing about an hour less themselves.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Single young women do the least chores, while older women,
- 3:38Speaker 4: older married women, and mothers of large families spend up
- 3:41Speaker 4: to twenty eight hours a week on chores. Forecast today
- 3:45Speaker 4: partly cloudy skies hides around fifty two right now, thirty
- 3:49Speaker 4: two in Oakdon And that is the news.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Thank you very much, Chilliamar.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Stay with us because coming up next words that might
- 3:55Speaker 2: inspire you if you need it on this Friday morning,
- 3:58Speaker 2: your morning mindset. Maybe if you're having one of those mornings,
- 4:01Speaker 2: this might help turn it around. Or maybe you're having
- 4:04Speaker 2: a great week. Well this could be the icing on
- 4:06Speaker 2: that cake that you've been given in life this week.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Either or that's next. Stay with us. It's ninety seven
- 4:13Speaker 2: point one wash FM, Zoby and Chilly in the morning.
- 4:16Speaker 2: It is ninety seven point one wash CHEFM, where you
- 4:19Speaker 2: get Washington's variety from the eighties nineties.
- 4:21Speaker 3: End today. Thank you for waking up with us.
- 4:24Speaker 2: It's time now for us to focus on you and
- 4:27Speaker 2: that stuff going on.
- 4:28Speaker 3: In your head, your morning mindset.
- 4:30Speaker 4: So we find a quote to share with you to
- 4:32Speaker 4: think about the rest of the day, and I know,
- 4:34Speaker 4: and Fridays at least, Toby, you like to find a
- 4:37Speaker 4: lyric from a song to sort of commemorate our best
- 4:41Speaker 4: of the eighties and nineties weekend.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yes, which starts at five o'clock today with Sabrina Conti
- 4:45Speaker 2: and today we go back to nineteen ninety eight for
- 4:47Speaker 2: a line from the song you Get what you Give
- 4:50Speaker 2: by the New Radicals. In fact, that is the lyric
- 4:53Speaker 2: you get what you give. Now, what does this even mean?
- 4:57Speaker 2: You get what you give? Well, the energy that you
- 5:00Speaker 2: send into the world, it does circle back, you know,
- 5:04Speaker 2: that whole karma thing. So what you put into the
- 5:07Speaker 2: world will come back to you. You get what you give.
- 5:10Speaker 2: So what are you gonna give today? Something good, something
- 5:13Speaker 2: a little questionable, something negative? Are you ready to get
- 5:16Speaker 2: back what you put into the world today? From the
- 5:19Speaker 2: New Radicals in nineteen ninety eight, you get what you give?
- 5:23Speaker 2: And remember you can listen to the best of the
- 5:25Speaker 2: eighties and the nineties all weekend long here at ninety
- 5:27Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM and that is your morning
- 5:29Speaker 2: mindset needed again. Find it on our install or the
- 5:33Speaker 2: Toby and Chilipage WASHFM dot com and stay right there because.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Next I hate to say I told you so, Toby.
- 5:38Speaker 4: H oh, but you you didn't do something you should
- 5:43Speaker 4: have done when you stored your coffee creamer in the
- 5:46Speaker 4: staff refrigerator.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Oh do tell in a moment.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm about to call out some people around here.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Oh okay, it's called etiquette, volks. Stay there and you'll
- 6:00Speaker 2: get to learn what etiquette is lacking in our building
- 6:03Speaker 2: in just minute. Chili says, I hate to say I
- 6:06Speaker 2: told you so, but she did tell me.
- 6:09Speaker 4: So.
- 6:09Speaker 2: What are we talking about here at ninety seven point
- 6:11Speaker 2: one wat Chef m with Toby and Chilly in the morning. Well,
- 6:13Speaker 2: I'm going to call it the Great coffee Creamer Debacle.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Well here's the thing.
- 6:18Speaker 4: You brought in a pretty generous sized bottle of coffee creamer,
- 6:22Speaker 4: a very good flavor, was like a caramel machiato or something. Yeah,
- 6:25Speaker 4: And as soon as you said you were going to
- 6:27Speaker 4: put it in the staff fridge, I said, well, let
- 6:30Speaker 4: me put your name on it, and you said, nah,
- 6:33Speaker 4: it's all right, it's for you and I people know
- 6:35Speaker 4: nobody's going to steal our coffee creamer.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Well there's your number one mistake.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I have used it only once when you're allowed to,
- 6:43Speaker 4: of course, because you and I have that understanding. But
- 6:45Speaker 4: you brought it in for the two of us, right.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Well.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I was curious to test this theory of mine that
- 6:50Speaker 4: when you put something that's not labeled in a staff refrigerator,
- 6:55Speaker 4: there is this assumption that it is for anyone to take.
- 6:58Speaker 4: And I picked it up and jiggled it, and let
- 7:01Speaker 4: me tell you, there's not a whole lot of creamer
- 7:03Speaker 4: left in there. But I want to ask you, are
- 7:06Speaker 4: you using it so much that it would be low
- 7:08Speaker 4: right now?
- 7:09Speaker 2: I've been using it, Yes, I've been stopping over there
- 7:12Speaker 2: to get coffee in the morning, but I will say
- 7:15Speaker 2: I don't use that much creamer that it would be
- 7:18Speaker 2: almost gone.
- 7:20Speaker 4: The etiquette here again, This is my thinking, sure that
- 7:24Speaker 4: if you're one of the people who's using something that's
- 7:26Speaker 4: not labeled and it gets to a certain amount, you
- 7:29Speaker 4: got to replace it. You've got to be the one who,
- 7:32Speaker 4: not you, Toby, replace it. I'm talking about another individual
- 7:35Speaker 4: who's taking that creamer and using it should do the
- 7:38Speaker 4: right thing and go buy the exact same one and
- 7:41Speaker 4: stick it in that Fore.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not worried about who you are.
- 7:44Speaker 2: But on Monday, there needs to be a new big
- 7:47Speaker 2: caramel macchiato zero sugar creamer in that bridge, because that's
- 7:54Speaker 2: just not cool.
- 7:55Speaker 4: And if there isn't, you're going to have to go
- 7:57Speaker 4: buy one. And this time, what's your name?
- 8:00Speaker 2: All over and I'm gonna put a card ask for permissions. Yes,
- 8:05Speaker 2: don't just assume I don't eat your food. Oh well, Chili,
- 8:11Speaker 2: when you're right, you're right, and we're Toby and Chili
- 8:14Speaker 2: in the morning. It's ninety seven point one WASHFM. Anybody

- 10:51Speaker 4: backseat driving topping the list, followed closely by leaving trash
- 10:55Speaker 4: behind and also criticizing the driver. On average, drivers say

- 21:16Speaker 3: We're coming up.
- 21:16Speaker 4: We're gonna share a story we think will make you
- 21:19Speaker 4: feel good on this Friday, where a Northern Virginia high
- 21:22Speaker 4: school student is giving kids with disabilities a chance to
- 21:25Speaker 4: step up to the plate and feel included.
- 21:27Speaker 3: You don't want to miss this hang out.
- 21:29Speaker 2: If it brings you all the fields on a Friday,
- 21:33Speaker 2: it's got to be our feel good Friday story for
- 21:36Speaker 2: this week. Toby and Chilly in the Morning at ninety
- 21:38Speaker 2: seven point one WASHFM, we go to Thomas Jefferson High
- 21:42Speaker 2: School for Science and Technology for this story. On a
- 21:45Speaker 2: recent Saturday, once the gym was buzzing, there was excitement
- 21:49Speaker 2: and energy in the air. But this wasn't a game
- 21:52Speaker 2: day in the gym. No, this was twenty five young
- 21:55Speaker 2: athletes with disabilities who were there to take part in
- 21:58Speaker 2: a very special baseball clinic, and everything that was happening
- 22:03Speaker 2: felt personal and meaningful.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Seventeen year old Andrew Hayden was the one who dreamed
- 22:08Speaker 4: the whole thing up. He was watching his younger brother,
- 22:11Speaker 4: who has autism and learning challenges, navigate the world, and
- 22:14Speaker 4: it helped him see that kids with different abilities sometimes
- 22:17Speaker 4: they don't get a chance to step onto a baseball
- 22:20Speaker 4: field and really engage with the sport, and inspired by
- 22:24Speaker 4: that experience, Andrew decided to change that.
- 22:27Speaker 2: You see, for Andrew, this baseball clinic was not just
- 22:30Speaker 2: another event.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It was personal.
- 22:32Speaker 2: He wanted the clinic to be a place at a
- 22:34Speaker 2: space where kids like his brother could be introduced to
- 22:37Speaker 2: adaptive baseball, where they could feel included and maybe even
- 22:41Speaker 2: fall in love with baseball itself.
- 22:44Speaker 4: And what's great is the school's varsity baseball team didn't
- 22:48Speaker 4: just support the idea. Twenty of their players showed up
- 22:51Speaker 4: to be volunteer coaches. Meanwhile, Andrew's brother Nick kept things
- 22:56Speaker 4: calm and happy in a sensory room that was set
- 22:59Speaker 4: up for anybody who felt overwhelmed during the clinic. He
- 23:02Speaker 4: had some phidgieit toys and also a welcoming space just
- 23:05Speaker 4: for them.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It really moved people, especially parents who said that the
- 23:09Speaker 2: day left them encouraged and proud, not just of the
- 23:13Speaker 2: kids playing, but of the team and the community that
- 23:17Speaker 2: came together to make it happen. What an amazing story
- 23:22Speaker 2: of inclusion and of people who are working with their
- 23:26Speaker 2: unique abilities to live their best lives.
- 23:29Speaker 4: And You can read more about our feel Good Friday
- 23:32Speaker 4: story on the Toby and Chili page at washfm dot com.

- 23:39Speaker 2: us so that we, in turn can share it with
- 23:41Speaker 2: those listening to us. It's ninety seven point one WASHEFM.

- 26:45Speaker 2: And if this sparks some sort of a memory, or

- 27:12Speaker 4: So a data center developer offered him fifteen million dollars. Wow,

- 27:22Speaker 4: just two million dollars to a group who promised that
- 27:25Speaker 4: they would never turn his farm land into anything but farm.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Okay, so that's a net loss of thirteen million dollars.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Hey, man, he's in his eighties. Maybe he's like, I
- 27:37Speaker 4: don't care. Two million is fine. I can live with that.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I can deal with two million dollars. They're not gonna
- 27:41Speaker 3: take my land and develop it.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Oh no, how much do you think would it take
- 27:46Speaker 4: for you to leave your home if you had a

- 27:54Speaker 2: care what they're gonna build on it.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I would take the money and run.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's an obvious amount. I would take the money
- 27:59Speaker 4: and run, right, now if they just gave me double
- 28:01Speaker 4: my home amount.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yes, because I can think of what you would do
- 28:04Speaker 3: with that money.
- 28:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd be getting a beach house and just buy
- 28:07Speaker 4: another house in Vienna though, no problem there, and you'd
- 28:10Speaker 4: still have money left over. Not really, I said I'd
