- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, so hey, it's Romeo, guys. And every day,
- 0:03Speaker 1: you know, every day I after the show, I look
- 0:06Speaker 1: at a list of things that I didn't get to.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I write stuff down, and I just I can't get
- 0:10Speaker 1: to everything on the show. With all the events that
- 0:13Speaker 1: are going on this weekend. You got Mecca, you got
- 0:15Speaker 1: the mac and cheese fish, you got DL Hughley down
- 0:18Speaker 1: at the deal, Heagle at the well. You just got
- 0:20Speaker 1: a lot going on. I can only do so much.
- 0:23Speaker 1: We got the chocolate challenge tomorrow over there at McDonald's.
- 0:27Speaker 1: That's Friday, the what is it, the eighth Friday, the
- 0:29Speaker 1: eighth before Mother's Day. So there's just so much going on.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I just can't get to everything. So I started writing
- 0:35Speaker 1: things down that I missed. You know. Some of the
- 0:37Speaker 1: emails are text messages that you guys send me. Some
- 0:40Speaker 1: of the things that happened to me during the day
- 0:42Speaker 1: that I just can't get to. I forget. There's too
- 0:44Speaker 1: much going on to get to everything within you know,
- 0:48Speaker 1: within the five hours that I do the show. When
- 0:51Speaker 1: you got music, and when you got commercials, and then
- 0:53Speaker 1: you got stuff you got to talk about, and things
- 0:55Speaker 1: you got to sell, and all that other stuff. It
- 0:57Speaker 1: just it makes it complicated, right, So I thought maybe
- 0:59Speaker 1: after the sh shoh, I thought i'd see how it goes.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Just after the show, I'll get a I'll jump on
- 1:04Speaker 1: a little bit, maybe a half hour an hour, and
- 1:06Speaker 1: just give you guys some of the stuff that I missed,
- 1:08Speaker 1: because I still got a lot of things to say about,
- 1:10Speaker 1: you know, and some of it's kind of you know,
- 1:12Speaker 1: some of it's relevant to the day. So I can't
- 1:15Speaker 1: just wait until tomorrow like I missed, you know, on
- 1:18Speaker 1: May fourth. I didn't say one thing about Star Wars
- 1:23Speaker 1: on May fourth because well, what is it that May
- 1:26Speaker 1: the fourth be with you or something aforce or whatever
- 1:28Speaker 1: it is. I just forgot all about it because I
- 1:30Speaker 1: was thinking of Sinko to Mayo. My head was all
- 1:33Speaker 1: looking forward to Sinco to Mayo, not just to so
- 1:36Speaker 1: you know what does mean? No good to talk about
- 1:38Speaker 1: it on Sinco to Mayo, Right, So you just got
- 1:41Speaker 1: to move forward. But some stuff I get, like one
- 1:43Speaker 1: of the things, this was kind of funny today. This
- 1:46Speaker 1: happened to me after I got off the air and
- 1:48Speaker 1: I was heading on down to I stopped my social
- 1:51Speaker 1: house just for a little bit. I was gonna have
- 1:53Speaker 1: a beer have a sound, which you know, just getting
- 1:55Speaker 1: off work, and can I tell you guys something By
- 1:59Speaker 1: the way, before I get to two wound up in this.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I get up at three in the morning. Oh that's
- 2:04Speaker 1: the other thing I just remembered at three. I totally
- 2:06Speaker 1: forgot to talk to you guys about this this morning.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Let me start there. So I'm up at three in
- 2:10Speaker 1: the morning. I'm usually on the road to the studio.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I don't know, between three and three fifteen, three and
- 2:16Speaker 1: three twenty something like that, right, So I'm on my way. Uh,
- 2:20Speaker 1: two nights in a row or two mornings in a row.
- 2:23Speaker 1: This happened to me. What do we got today? And
- 2:25Speaker 1: yesterday it happened to me. I saw and I've never
- 2:30Speaker 1: seen this before, So you guys, I don't know if
- 2:33Speaker 1: it's a shooting star, but basically it was some it
- 2:37Speaker 1: was some form of light. Twice one was over there?
- 2:43Speaker 1: Where was I traveling? I was. I was on trucks
- 2:45Speaker 1: and an extension crossing the Crosstown Freeway today and yesterday?
- 2:50Speaker 1: Where was I was coming down? I think I was
- 2:53Speaker 1: coming down. I saw it on Rosedale Highway or fruit
- 2:56Speaker 1: Vale or something like that. Wherever I was over there
- 2:57Speaker 1: somewhere and it was like a light burned out. It
- 3:02Speaker 1: was like something was falling from the sky and then
- 3:05Speaker 1: it just burned out and disappeared. Now, I one the
- 3:09Speaker 1: one on the one yesterday what looked bluish. The one
- 3:13Speaker 1: today that I saw looked like a fireball. Like. So,
- 3:17Speaker 1: I don't know what it was. Maybe it was shooting stars,
- 3:19Speaker 1: have you guys. I've never seen a shooting star before,
- 3:22Speaker 1: so I'm not totally sure what it was, but it
- 3:26Speaker 1: was Yeah, I don't know. I really don't know what
- 3:29Speaker 1: it was. It was kind of wild, and like I said,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I meant to talk about that this morning, but I
- 3:34Speaker 1: just didn't have time to do it. So what was it?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Does anybody know? I mean, you know, we see the
- 3:40Speaker 1: Was it a satellite falling out of the sky? Maybe?
- 3:43Speaker 1: I mean that could have been it, right, It seemed
- 3:46Speaker 1: awful close to the ground too, And I know when
- 3:48Speaker 1: you look up in the air and you look up
- 3:49Speaker 1: the space, it's all, uh, you never know what it is.
- 3:52Speaker 1: But yeah, so that happened to me, right anyway. So
- 3:57Speaker 1: I got off today and I went to have a
- 4:00Speaker 1: sandwich and a beer after work, like, and this is
- 4:04Speaker 1: what's funny. I was at social house and somebody was saying, man,
- 4:07Speaker 1: already you're having a beer. I'm like, I get up
- 4:09Speaker 1: at three am, so my day starts at three. If
- 4:13Speaker 1: my day starts at three and ends at ten, what
- 4:16Speaker 1: is that seven hours? That's a shift, right, seven hours
- 4:21Speaker 1: is a shift. So if your day starts at nine
- 4:26Speaker 1: and you get off at five or eight to four,
- 4:31Speaker 1: it's the same timeframe. So whether I have a beer
- 4:34Speaker 1: at ten am or eleven thirty am or eleven am,
- 4:38Speaker 1: that's the same as you having a beer at four
- 4:41Speaker 1: am or three am. I mean, I'm sorry, at four
- 4:44Speaker 1: pm or three pm or five pm. Whenever you get
- 4:46Speaker 1: off work, we're working the same shift. Mine just starts early.
- 4:50Speaker 1: What do you think the guys do the work overnights?
- 4:52Speaker 1: You get these guys that get off work or you
- 4:54Speaker 1: know that work until get off at six in the morning. Oh,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I'm there's a woman that calls every morning. She gets
- 5:01Speaker 1: off at six in the morning, you know, and uh,
- 5:05Speaker 1: she can't have a drink after work at six in
- 5:07Speaker 1: the morning. She just worked all night long. What is
- 5:10Speaker 1: the difference? There isn't a difference. So anyway, Uh, that's
- 5:14Speaker 1: not the point. Uh the point that I was was.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I was sitting there and I'm having a I'm just
- 5:21Speaker 1: having something to eat. I'm drinking a beer. Guy walks
- 5:23Speaker 1: up to me, starts talking to me, Hey, Roan, what's
- 5:25Speaker 1: going on? Man, haven't seen you in a while, blah
- 5:27Speaker 1: blah blah. So we're chit chatting, little small talk. Right,
- 5:30Speaker 1: He's having lunch with UH, with some clients, UH for
- 5:34Speaker 1: the company he works for. I couldn't remember his name,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I remembered him, but I couldn't remember his name,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and so I said, Uh. I said, man, I go,
- 5:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry I forgot your name. And he got mad.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He got upset, like I like, I'm supposed to remember
- 5:55Speaker 1: his name, you know, I mean, and like, well, he
- 6:00Speaker 1: was like, well, damn, Roan, can't I remember you? I'm like, well,
- 6:03Speaker 1: of course, I'm on the radio. I've been on the
- 6:05Speaker 1: radio for thirty years or twenty something years, twenty eight years,
- 6:08Speaker 1: twenty someth something years, right, of course you remember me.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I'm rememberable, specifically for the fact that I've been doing
- 6:16Speaker 1: a public job for all these years. How am I
- 6:20Speaker 1: supposed to remember everybody? And why is it my fault
- 6:24Speaker 1: that I don't remember you? And is it really that
- 6:28Speaker 1: big a deal. I mean, I remembered his face. I know,
- 6:32Speaker 1: I remember meeting him before, I remember talking to him before.
- 6:35Speaker 1: But because I don't remember your name, you're gonna be
- 6:40Speaker 1: You're gonna get all you know, pissy. I mean, what
- 6:43Speaker 1: the hell? And I'm this is in no way trying
- 6:49Speaker 1: to be like, how can I say this? Uh? Okay,
- 6:56Speaker 1: I'll give you a great example of it happening. George
- 6:59Speaker 1: Lopez coming town. I interviewed George Lopez, right, and I
- 7:02Speaker 1: remember some very specific moments that I met George Lopez, Right.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Do you think it's fair for me to expect that
- 7:11Speaker 1: guy to remember me in any way, remember my name,
- 7:15Speaker 1: remember anything? If I walked up to him and said, hey, George,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I met you with so and so. Do you expect
- 7:20Speaker 1: a guy that's been that met that many people and
- 7:23Speaker 1: been that you know, been around the world and back
- 7:27Speaker 1: to remember me, even though there's a couple of things
- 7:29Speaker 1: that I remember specifically. I remember at the walking in
- 7:33Speaker 1: the Fox Theater one time to host the show that
- 7:35Speaker 1: he was on, and George just standing right there on
- 7:38Speaker 1: the on the sidewalk. Now, that's something that's memorial memorable
- 7:43Speaker 1: to me. Right, specifically, do you think he's gonna remember
- 7:46Speaker 1: that after everything he's done. Now, of course not now.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I'm not saying I'm anywhere as successful or as big
- 7:53Speaker 1: of a star as George Lopez. But I'm saying, though,
- 7:55Speaker 1: in this little pond that we live in a Bakersfield,
- 7:59Speaker 1: how am I so post to remember everybody? That's all
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I didn't get to that I wanted
- 8:08Speaker 1: to talk. Well, that just happened to me, was and
- 8:11Speaker 1: I'm not gonna have time to get to that tomorrow.
- 8:12Speaker 1: So what will happen is so things like that will
- 8:15Speaker 1: happen to me, and I'll try to remember them and
- 8:19Speaker 1: I even may write them down. But at tomorrow we're
- 8:23Speaker 1: doing you know, tomorrow is a Mother's Day bit. We're
- 8:25Speaker 1: gonna be out at the McDonald's over on Stockdale in California,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and all the moms that come out, we're gonna let
- 8:31Speaker 1: you throw chonklas and try to knock down cups, plastic cups,
- 8:36Speaker 1: and we're gonna see how accurate you are. Somebody's gonna
- 8:38Speaker 1: win Chris Brown and Usher tickets and sofi in September,
- 8:43Speaker 1: And I know that's my day, that's my show Tomorrow,
- 8:47Speaker 1: that is my day tomorrow, right, and so by the
- 8:50Speaker 1: time we get back on Monday, I'm gonna forget about
- 8:53Speaker 1: everything that happened on Friday. So that's why I say
- 8:57Speaker 1: when I miss stuff. And I was talking to a
- 8:59Speaker 1: friend of mine, he goes, man, why don't you talk
- 9:00Speaker 1: about the stuff? Why don't you just, you know, do
- 9:03Speaker 1: do an hour after your show and talk about some
- 9:05Speaker 1: of the things that go on that you don't get
- 9:07Speaker 1: a chance to talk about. Like there's a lot of
- 9:08Speaker 1: stuff that happens in Bakersfield that I just I don't
- 9:12Speaker 1: get a chance to talk about, you know, things I
- 9:14Speaker 1: go places I go, new restaurants, new our entertainment, or
- 9:18Speaker 1: just things that happen that I never get a chance
- 9:21Speaker 1: to talk about. I do want to talk about though,
- 9:27Speaker 1: something I got this morning. Uh what was it? I
- 9:33Speaker 1: wrote it down? Where am I? Oh? You know what
- 9:39Speaker 1: I saw? You know what I saw this morning? Also
- 9:42Speaker 1: was kind of crazy that I didn't Once again, I
- 9:45Speaker 1: got sidetracked wash you know how the trash guys. I
- 9:51Speaker 1: went to throw something away in one of our dumpsters
- 9:54Speaker 1: at the studio out in front of the studio, right,
- 9:56Speaker 1: So I threw some trash in there, and there was
- 10:00Speaker 1: they're usually locked, but they weren't locked, and I didn't think.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I didn't think nothing of it, so I threw something
- 10:06Speaker 1: in there because the trash guy was coming and they
- 10:11Speaker 1: I didn't think anything of it. But then I see
- 10:14Speaker 1: the trash guy coming out of the trash guys coming
- 10:18Speaker 1: and you know, then they have to push out the
- 10:20Speaker 1: big trash band and then they flip it up and
- 10:22Speaker 1: they throw it in the back of their truck. There
- 10:24Speaker 1: was a uh there was a guy slipping in the
- 10:26Speaker 1: trash can and he almost It was the craziest thing.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Only in Bakersfield, maybe I don't know, but he goes
- 10:36Speaker 1: to flip it up and the guy jumps up like
- 10:40Speaker 1: luckily the driver saw the guy. I mean luckily the
- 10:44Speaker 1: guy dropped jumped up out of the trash can before
- 10:48Speaker 1: he could actually flip it into the back of his truck.
- 10:51Speaker 1: It was insane. And guess what I didn't do. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: did not pull out my phone to record it so
- 10:57Speaker 1: it can go on current county activity. I did not
- 10:59Speaker 1: even didn't even cross my mind. I was just all
- 11:02Speaker 1: I was watching this in shock, thinking, oh my god,
- 11:05Speaker 1: this guy's gonna die. And I didn't get my phone.
- 11:09Speaker 1: But I guess, but once again, some of the stuff
- 11:13Speaker 1: that I just don't I just don't. Uh, I just
- 11:19Speaker 1: don't get to the other thing that I wanted because
- 11:24Speaker 1: Mother's Day's coming. I mean, we talked about Mother's Day this.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Uh check this out a couple of things that happened
- 11:35Speaker 1: this morning. I don't know why it always gets to this,
- 11:38Speaker 1: but it seems like in Bakersfield we always get to
- 11:41Speaker 1: the we always get to everybody's a cheater, men and women,
- 11:47Speaker 1: not just men. And I believe that I don't believe
- 11:51Speaker 1: everybody's a cheater. By the way, I believe there are
- 11:54Speaker 1: some people that cheat in Bakersfield. And I think the
- 11:56Speaker 1: percentage of men that cheat in Bakersfield is the exact
- 12:00Speaker 1: same percentage of women that cheat in Bakersfield. I don't
- 12:04Speaker 1: believe that there are I don't believe that men cheat
- 12:08Speaker 1: more than women, or that women cheat more than men.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I think it's about the same. But somebody sent me
- 12:17Speaker 1: a thing that said somebody, some lady sent me a
- 12:20Speaker 1: message this morning talking about just women and bakers feel
- 12:25Speaker 1: cheat more than anybody else. Um, yeah, I find that
- 12:29Speaker 1: hard to believe. I guess it's all a matter of
- 12:31Speaker 1: your perspective, right, If you're a man. You know, if
- 12:35Speaker 1: you're a man cheated on you, and so you're gonna
- 12:38Speaker 1: blame the other woman and you're gonna blame men. So
- 12:41Speaker 1: everybody is a cheater, right If if you've gotten cheated on,
- 12:44Speaker 1: your perspective is everybody's a cheater, right. He cheated on
- 12:49Speaker 1: me with a woman. That now men and women are cheaters,
- 12:53Speaker 1: but you're not. Okay, So I get it, but they're not.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I mean, and it's it's just so odd because you
- 13:00Speaker 1: get that, you get this conversation is everywhere it I
- 13:05Speaker 1: I just don't know and the reason. And then a
- 13:10Speaker 1: few minutes after that, I really wanted to talk about
- 13:14Speaker 1: this for a second. Guy text me. He says, hey, Rome,
- 13:18Speaker 1: he goes my girl. My girl cheated on me. I
- 13:21Speaker 1: don't know what I should do. Should I Should I
- 13:24Speaker 1: cheat on her and then break up with her? Or
- 13:26Speaker 1: should I just break up with her? Well, if the
- 13:29Speaker 1: ultimate goal is to break up with her, just break
- 13:32Speaker 1: up with her. Why why do you need to cheat?
- 13:35Speaker 1: There is a stigma. And this is what I wanted
- 13:37Speaker 1: to tell him. I hope he listens to this. This
- 13:40Speaker 1: is what I wanted to tell him. There is a
- 13:42Speaker 1: stigma with cheating. You're a cheater. If you cheat on somebody,
- 13:47Speaker 1: whether they've done it to you first or not, you're
- 13:51Speaker 1: a cheater. Okay, So you can't you can't, you can't
- 13:58Speaker 1: do it. You can't put that on you because then
- 14:01Speaker 1: now you're just both cheaters. And when the conversation comes
- 14:05Speaker 1: up about oh, John and Jill, uh, they're not together anymore.
- 14:09Speaker 1: They cheated on each other, it's not oh, Jill cheated
- 14:12Speaker 1: on John and John got even and then broke up
- 14:14Speaker 1: with her. The story around town is they're cheaters. They
- 14:19Speaker 1: cheated on each other. So if you're going to do that,
- 14:22Speaker 1: if you're gonna break up with her, ultimately, you're just
- 14:24Speaker 1: gonna break up with her. You gotta you gotta just
- 14:28Speaker 1: break up with her. Don't cheat on her, because then
- 14:30Speaker 1: you're gonna look like the bad guy. And no matter
- 14:32Speaker 1: how you spin it, no matter how it comes, no
- 14:35Speaker 1: matter what happens, when the story's told, you are gonna
- 14:40Speaker 1: be the bad guy just as much as she's. Uh oh,
- 14:44Speaker 1: oh gosh. I do think that. Uh, I think, I
- 14:48Speaker 1: do think, and I do think that women get a
- 14:53Speaker 1: little bit more of a pass for cheating than women
- 14:56Speaker 1: than men do. I mean, maybe it's because of the
- 14:59Speaker 1: his of men. Maybe it's because of the history of women.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Maybe it's because that's how it Maybe that's a balance.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I don't know, but I do think that women kind
- 15:07Speaker 1: of get ah, yeah, they get a little bit the people.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Society is not as harsh on female cheaters as they
- 15:15Speaker 1: are on male cheaters. Now, maybe men deserve it. Maybe
- 15:18Speaker 1: men have created that stigma, and you know, so it
- 15:24Speaker 1: is what it is. But yeah, are those some of
- 15:28Speaker 1: the things I wanted to get to. I just I'm
- 15:30Speaker 1: trying to think what else was going on. I know
- 15:32Speaker 1: there was something else I wanted to talk about, and
- 15:35Speaker 1: it is h Oh, it's just slipping in my mind
- 15:38Speaker 1: right now. But we do got Mother's Day coming up,
- 15:41Speaker 1: so make sure you guys are ready for that. Hopefully
- 15:43Speaker 1: you're taking care of moms. Oh. I did see some
- 15:45Speaker 1: stuff that was going on around town by the way
- 15:47Speaker 1: for Mother's Day. I saw a couple of interesting things.
- 15:50Speaker 1: This was what I thought was cool for moms. What do
- 15:52Speaker 1: they got? Oh, Chick fil A's having a Mother's Day tea.
- 15:56Speaker 1: That's on Saturday, the ninth over on Rosedale high Way. Oh,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I know what it was. It was bottle Shock, wining
- 16:02Speaker 1: brew a friend of ours does a lot of I
- 16:06Speaker 1: think it's Bottle Shock Wining Brew. He does a lot
- 16:09Speaker 1: of events there and he always calls me to talk
- 16:11Speaker 1: about some of the events. But they're doing bingos and Mimosa.
- 16:15Speaker 1: May ninth, there's a Saturday, right the man, there's so
- 16:16Speaker 1: much going on on Saturday. That's from one to four. Though,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you can't do that. You gotta go to the Mac
- 16:21Speaker 1: and Cheese Fest. Everything's on Saturday. It looks like Festejando
- 16:29Speaker 1: los las Renas. The Beggersfille College is hosting a Mother's
- 16:33Speaker 1: Day event that's in the evening though. It looks like
- 16:36Speaker 1: it could be kind of fun. What do we got
- 16:38Speaker 1: going on? Yeah, those are a few things. Mother's Day.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Paint party, Quirks and Strokes. That's going on. Oh, that's
- 16:48Speaker 1: actually on Sunday, on Mother's Day. Well, it would make
- 16:52Speaker 1: sense right to do some of these things on the
- 16:53Speaker 1: ninth with your mom because usually Mother's Day the family
- 16:57Speaker 1: gets together. Everybody likes to go out to brunch or
- 16:59Speaker 1: every how's that supposed to work? By the way, when
- 17:03Speaker 1: it comes to Mother's Day, when uh, yeah, how's that
- 17:08Speaker 1: supposed to work? You know, I don't I don't live
- 17:11Speaker 1: next to my mom, so I don't get to see
- 17:13Speaker 1: her as much as i'd like to. And she, uh,
- 17:19Speaker 1: she also does a lot a lot of things on
- 17:21Speaker 1: her own. I mean, she does a lot of traveling
- 17:23Speaker 1: and stuff like that. So she's just living her best
- 17:26Speaker 1: life doing everything. So sometimes we don't get to see
- 17:28Speaker 1: her for Mother's Day. Do you guys, what do you
- 17:31Speaker 1: guys do? Is do it all together? Do you guys
- 17:32Speaker 1: spend Mother's Day separately? I mean that's what I would do.
- 17:37Speaker 1: You go with your mom. I'll go with my mom
- 17:39Speaker 1: and then we'll meet up at home later on after
- 17:41Speaker 1: it's all said and done. But if you have kids together,
- 17:44Speaker 1: then oh that's the thing I got to talk about.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Oh man, and I'm not seeing One of the things
- 17:49Speaker 1: I didn't get to was Mother's Day. This is very
- 17:54Speaker 1: important and you guys need to understand this. A lot
- 17:58Speaker 1: of you guys, and I've seen this happen more often
- 18:00Speaker 1: than not. You put your mom before the mother of
- 18:03Speaker 1: your children. Normally it's your wife. Okay, if you want
- 18:07Speaker 1: to put your mom ahead of your baby mama, who
- 18:09Speaker 1: you're not married to and you're not together with anymore,
- 18:11Speaker 1: that's fine. But your mom should not come before your wife,
- 18:17Speaker 1: who is the mother of your children. Okay, she comes first.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry, and I don't know how to explain this
- 18:23Speaker 1: to you guys, except for the fact that you know
- 18:26Speaker 1: what happens when your mom is gone and it's just
- 18:30Speaker 1: you and her, the animosity that she's gonna have towards
- 18:33Speaker 1: you because you did not put her first, which you should,
- 18:37Speaker 1: so don't when it comes to Mother's Day, if your
- 18:40Speaker 1: wife wants to do something different than what your mom
- 18:45Speaker 1: wants to do, you need to figure something out. You
- 18:49Speaker 1: take your mom out on Saturday, the night before, take
- 18:52Speaker 1: her out on Friday, I do something, Make plans with
- 18:56Speaker 1: your wife on Sunday and the kids, and tell your
- 18:59Speaker 1: mother that if she wants to be a part of
- 19:01Speaker 1: your wife's plans, she's more than welcome, because your wife's
- 19:05Speaker 1: gotta be understanding about that. Your wife can't just say
- 19:09Speaker 1: it's all about me and we're gonna do what I
- 19:10Speaker 1: want to do, and that's fine, but you have to
- 19:14Speaker 1: be able to invite her mom and your mom and
- 19:16Speaker 1: everybody has to be able to at least get an invite.
- 19:19Speaker 1: And unfortunately, my friend, you are the one that's gonna
- 19:22Speaker 1: have to figure out a way to accommodate your wife,
- 19:28Speaker 1: the mother of your children, and your mom. Okay, you
- 19:32Speaker 1: cannot put your you cannot have your wife play second
- 19:35Speaker 1: fiddle to your mom, no matter what you think, no
- 19:39Speaker 1: matter how great. And in fact, you know what's funny
- 19:42Speaker 1: is people will say, well, roam, my great, my mom
- 19:46Speaker 1: was so great, she's amazing. I bet she was. And
- 19:49Speaker 1: guess what. Moms that are amazing moms understand. They understand
- 19:54Speaker 1: that now you're a married man with a wife with children,
- 19:59Speaker 1: and that your wife and mother of your children should
- 20:02Speaker 1: come first. Good moms understand that, and they work with you.
- 20:06Speaker 1: They make sure that everybody gets what they want, and
- 20:10Speaker 1: they make sure they're not selfish, you know. So good luck, guys,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and once again, oh maybe we can get into that next.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I just got so much going on. Man,
- 20:22Speaker 1: George Lopez is coming to town on next Saturday, on
- 20:25Speaker 1: the sixteenth, so I got to talk to him. I
- 20:27Speaker 1: got We got the Manuda and Pasole cookoff coming up
- 20:31Speaker 1: on the twenty fourth at the Fairgrounds with the Hispanic
- 20:34Speaker 1: Kerrn County Chamber of Commerce. We got to talk about
- 20:38Speaker 1: that and some of the things that go along with that.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot going on. There's a lot
- 20:42Speaker 1: going on. We're going into summer. The sun's about to hit, right,
- 20:44Speaker 1: We're smart about to hit that hundred degree weather. I
- 20:47Speaker 1: think Monday? Is it? Monday gonna be one hundred degrees?
- 20:50Speaker 1: Is that? Am I wrong about that? Does anybody know offhand?
- 20:53Speaker 1: You guys will have to let me know what happens there.
- 20:57Speaker 1: But man, there's a lot going on, and I guess
- 21:03Speaker 1: we're going to have to start having these conversations off
- 21:07Speaker 1: the air so that I can handle more stuff. I
- 21:11Speaker 1: just can't get it all done. I mean, you guys
- 21:15Speaker 1: are just gonna have to bear with me while we
- 21:17Speaker 1: do a little more every day. I do want to
- 21:19Speaker 1: talk a little bit more about what's going on in Bakersfield, though.
- 21:21Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of stuff that happens every day.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Like I said, restaurants, things like that open. I was
- 21:28Speaker 1: having a conversation with a guy, a friend of mine,
- 21:31Speaker 1: actually he was asking me. He called me and he said, Hey,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna go out to for Mother's Day. I want
- 21:37Speaker 1: to take my mom and my family out to brunch.
- 21:40Speaker 1: He goes, do you know a good brunch place? And
- 21:43Speaker 1: I said, I know two and that's all I really know,
- 21:47Speaker 1: is too now I will well, actually I know three.
- 21:52Speaker 1: But but as I was thinking about it, as I'm
- 21:57Speaker 1: trying to have a conversation with him about this, I'm
- 21:59Speaker 1: just going through my head. I'm thinking, what are all
- 22:02Speaker 1: these places? You know, Sonder has a great brunch, always
- 22:06Speaker 1: has for for quite a few years now. Social House
- 22:09Speaker 1: has a great brunch, you know, has a really good brunch. Actually,
- 22:15Speaker 1: also is Rubens over there on Rosedale And three different
- 22:19Speaker 1: type you know, three different types of brunches. One, uh,
- 22:22Speaker 1: well there, I guess Sonder and Social As are kind
- 22:25Speaker 1: of similar. But when we're talking about it, and I
- 22:29Speaker 1: know a lot of you guys will go down here.
- 22:31Speaker 1: The other one I know a lot of people go
- 22:32Speaker 1: to is the what's the one right down here on
- 22:35Speaker 1: Olive Olive And I don't know the name of it.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I can't think of the name of it right now,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but it's you know, it's famous for brunch. But we
- 22:43Speaker 1: have new restaurants that have opened, We have new places
- 22:47Speaker 1: that are you know, doing some pretty good food. But
- 22:50Speaker 1: I couldn't think of I when he was asking me,
- 22:55Speaker 1: three places came to mind. That's it. In kers Field
- 23:00Speaker 1: does have some good food. We got some good restaurants.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Some of these newer restaurants are actually really good. So
- 23:05Speaker 1: I got to yeah, we gotta start talking about some
- 23:09Speaker 1: of that stuff. So I thought i'd start off. You know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: this will be the first one of me doing something
- 23:13Speaker 1: after the show. So things come up around town that
- 23:17Speaker 1: I want to talk about them, it's gonna jump on
- 23:18Speaker 1: and start doing it after my show. I'm gonna start
- 23:21Speaker 1: making sure that I cover things because I'm just missing
- 23:24Speaker 1: too much stuff, especially about Baker's about what's going on,
- 23:28Speaker 1: you know, some of the shows that are happening, some
- 23:31Speaker 1: of the restaurants that are opening, some of the things
- 23:34Speaker 1: that are just going on around town. So we're gonna
- 23:36Speaker 1: start talking a little bit more about that, and I'm
- 23:38Speaker 1: gonna make sure that ash I don't forget. I don't forget.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I mean, just crazy things happen to me all the
- 23:44Speaker 1: time when i'm and I just forget. I just forget
- 23:49Speaker 1: to talk about them. I don't have time to talk
- 23:52Speaker 1: about them. So I mean, if you guys are listening
- 23:54Speaker 1: to the show and all the nonsense that's happening on
- 23:56Speaker 1: my radio show, you might as well listen to all
- 23:59Speaker 1: the nonsense that's happened in on the podcast or the
- 24:01Speaker 1: after the show, because same nonsense. I just don't get
- 24:06Speaker 1: to talk about it, all right, all right, so we'll
- 24:08Speaker 1: do it. We're gonna make sure that we do this
- 24:10Speaker 1: a little more every week, a couple of times a week,
- 24:12Speaker 1: three day. We'll see how it goes. We'll see how
- 24:14Speaker 1: it goes. We'll see how much stuff I forget. I
- 24:16Speaker 1: probably forget, at least I don't know, a couple of times.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I probably forget a couple of things a day that
- 24:26Speaker 1: I just don't get to or don't forget to talk about.
- 24:29Speaker 1: So there's a lot to do. There's a lot to do.
- 24:33Speaker 1: The difference is now it's just me telling you about
- 24:36Speaker 1: these things, and then you get to figure it out
- 24:37Speaker 1: on your own. I can't you can't actually call in
- 24:39Speaker 1: or anything like that. But you know what, we'll see
- 24:42Speaker 1: what happens. All right, guys, we'll talk to you tomorrow.
- 24:45Speaker 1: We got mac and cheese on Saturday. That's the night.
- 24:48Speaker 1: That's one of the things. This is one of the things,
- 24:50Speaker 1: by the way, that I hate about podcasts is the
- 24:55Speaker 1: time frame. Depending on when you listen to it, you
- 24:59Speaker 1: may have missed something that already happened, or something may
- 25:04Speaker 1: have concluded, like I could have like when we do
- 25:06Speaker 1: the show every day, when I do a live radio
- 25:09Speaker 1: show every morning, everything's current, so we're talking about things currently.
- 25:14Speaker 1: If something comes to a conclusion and we talk about it, right,
- 25:20Speaker 1: so I could be like, if you listen to this,
- 25:22Speaker 1: we got the Mac and Cheese Festival going on on
- 25:26Speaker 1: the ninth, you know. And so if you listen to
- 25:33Speaker 1: this podcast next week and go, oh, Romeo, you got
- 25:35Speaker 1: something going on, you've already missed it. They're just so dated.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Podcasts are dated. That's that's one of the few things
- 25:41Speaker 1: I have a problem with when it comes to podcast
- 25:43Speaker 1: But hey, we'll figure it out. I'm gonna try not
- 25:46Speaker 1: to i'ma try to make sure I keep everything specific
- 25:49Speaker 1: with you guys, so you understand that I'm not you know,
- 25:53Speaker 1: so you know, so you know what's going on, all right,
- 25:56Speaker 1: all right, I'll talk to you guys later
