Latest / BDGE Fantasy Football / BIG Fantasy Ranking Moves from NFL Training Camp Hype
Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Good morning to everybody except for Kyle Pitz in today's video.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be talking through some of the most hyped up training camp story lines so far this summer, right?
- 0:09[SPEAKER_00]: We are about to enter August and training camp is in full go.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: The pads are on the practices are happening, which means we are able to tap into some of the best beat reporters
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: in the industry and really get an inside look about what's happening in camp and thus all the beat reporters are starting to throw things out on Twitter about certain players and we are now adjusting the ranks.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: But we are not adjusting the ranks based on every report that comes out.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to try to do my best to be the middle man for y'all because you're going to hear so much stuff throughout training camp, so much coach speak.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go through some of the top story lines that we've been hearing and I'm going to let you know whether or not I'm adjusting guys in the rankings because of it.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: We have some big movers.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: We have some small movers.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: We have some non movers.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: I will say the single best thing that you can do around this time of the year is to just follow the beat reporters, especially from accredited sources like the athletic, I would definitely go follow their podcast.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: They always get the top of the line beat reporters that come onto their podcast and really like give you an insight look about what's going on.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: In the camp, I genuinely think listening to like real football people is the way to go at this time of the year and not people that are just like
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: regurgitating yards per route run over and over and over again to you way more helpful to actually know what the injury status of this player is.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Are we worried about this guy or that guy?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Where are the snaps going in two minute drills and things like that?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what you can get from real life football people, right?
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: So would tap into those types of sources.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we're doing today.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to start very top of this list with Terry McCleuron.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's gone from a holdout to a hold in.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: He wants a new contract.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Washington says it didn't to give it to him because he is getting older in age.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: He wanted to get paid like DK Metcalf, but then we just had Portland Sutton.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: Get paid around twenty three million dollars a year, which is probably going to be the best argument for Washington now saying hey, you need to, you know, come back down to earth.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're a little bit older.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: You're not decayed Metcalf's age.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: So you need to take something in between.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: And where this affects fantasy is we've seen receivers over the last few years start slow when they hold out.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: And when they're not in practice and when they're not up to shape and practicing.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: in the system and with their quarterbacks and all that kind of stuff.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little bit disheartening one because Terry's such a likable player and I actually I wanted to fade the fade of Terry McClellan like everybody wants to fade Terry McClellan because of like the touchdown the touchdown total that he had last year and there's just no way that he could actually be a wide receiver one again because he had too many touchdowns I'm like that feels like a player I'd like to buy into he's a clear alpha in an offense with a very very
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: good quarterback that they just nailed their top five scoring offense regardless so I wanted to fade that while he was starting to be pushed outside of the top fifteen but it's hard to ignore the wide receivers over the last couple years whether you look at cdlam or brand new and these guys who hold out all throughout summer and then start off very slow and it also ramps up their injury risk especially early on in the season for things like hamstring pulls and just muscle strains and stuff like that so
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: I will say this is a little bit disheartening, a longer that Terry holds out.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: I do think they get something done.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're probably going to have to meet in the middle of those two contracts.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: But Terry is not really a top twelve guy for me anymore.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think I've moved him down to the wide receiver.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: Sixteen ish at this point.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: And listen, we've seen like Jamar Chase held out for most of last summer and then obviously became the goat.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: last year.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it none of this stuff is black and white.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of just throw different data points on the spectrum and adjust accordingly.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we're doing in our rankings, speaking of Terry being at the Ytersea or Sixteen.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: You are watching this on July thirty first, which means August first is tomorrow, which means our draft guide officially goes live tomorrow.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: You have one more day to get it at extremely discounted pre order pricing or the entire summer to get it through our partner, which is even more discounted.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: So the cheapest way to get it by far is just going through our partner page, which will be the first link down below.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: It has all of our rankings for every league type.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's got right ups and basically the way I feel about every single player for fantasy going into the year.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's got our must draft players, our entire fade list, our favorite targets round by round, our favorite sleepers after the tenth round.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: All that kind of stuff will be in there for you.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's exactly what you need for your fantasy football draft to dominate.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Interactive, you can mark players getting drafted off as you're in the middle of your drafts.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be updated throughout the entire summer, right?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: So go through our partner page for an extremely discounted price.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't qualify for that, then you could still get it at a pre-order price until tomorrow.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: But it goes live tomorrow and I'm hyped for y'all to see it.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Next player we're actually going to stay within Washington.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: And this list is just going to bounce off a bunch of different players here.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not necessarily like best players to worse, just players that I'm hearing a lot of hype coming from.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: And we're saying a Washington, and we're moving to the backfield, jacory, crosskey, morette.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now I've been talking about Brian Robinson a lot recently, and I see a lot of comments about like go check out.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: jacorey cross game ret and I do deep dives on rookies all the time on the dynasty channel.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: If you're more interested in like watching tape watching film and diving into the deep rookie class, I've been talking about jacorey cross game ret since I want to say the first video I mentioned him and was probably right after the NFL draft.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: So he's very much on my radar, but I think for a seventh rounder to really start to make noise like you have to start hearing the beat reporters
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: drum up hey, this guy's getting runs with the two, he's getting runs with the ones and seeing their fifty-three-man roster projections putting a dude like this on there.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently he's been very impressive in camp so far.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jacori Croskey-Maret was Washington's seventh round pick this year.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Good athlete, he's a little bit older, came in at twenty-four years old, played four years at Alabama State, transferred to New Mexico where he broke out.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Transfer to Arizona.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: had a huge week one and then got suspended for the rest of the year for ineligibility issues or eligibility issues, whatever.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: But when we're looking at what he is as a runner, he is a very, very good runner.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: And the reports have been that he's running with the ones every now and then, right?
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's Bryan Robinson's job still.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm still very much targeting B-Rob as a late-round running back around seven, eight, nine to be a guy who scored a lot of touchdowns in a high-up side offense.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: But Kory, Croskey, right?
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a late-round baseball pick.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is a Dinesy stash if he's still on your waiver wire.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: This is a guy to just like keep in your mind because I do believe the hype about this kid.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: His numbers in his last full year in twenty twenty three when he played at New Mexico.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: Ninety third percentile in terms of miss tackles force per temp thirty four percent ninety first percentile in ten plus yard run rate and fifteen plus yard run rate overall lucid rating eleven among a hundred forty five qualified backs
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: past block rate in the seventh-eighth percentile yards after contact per attempt in the eighty-fifth percentile so this is a dude who is clearly shifty is clearly elusive looks really good on film he is springy he could be a guy who eats into some carries and again I don't I don't necessarily know that he's gonna make an impact and redraft but at times last year you know you're looking at the Jeremy McNickles you're looking at the Chris Rodriguez is this is more for deeper leagues for sure but I'm just going through guys that I am buying the hype into during training camp
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll move to another backup running back here out in New York.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: And that is Braille on Allen.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: He is getting incredible hype so far as, you know, the backup to Breeze Hall.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm buying this because Braille on Allen, I think was really good.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: If you just watched him play football last year, didn't end up getting like a huge roll down the stretch.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he wore out a little bit.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: You got to remember Braille on Allen was quite literally the youngest player in the NFL last year.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: He came in at twenty years old and he had a certified stud in Breeze Hall above him in the deaf chart.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: But you've got Aaron Glenn coming over as well as the new OC coming over from Detroit as well.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: And they are very much putting their stamp on the fact that they plan on using this as a committee backfield with Breeze Hall serving as that Jamir Gibbs role and David Montgomery being Braille on Allen in New York.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: What that actually means in terms of fantasy production.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure because like how many scoring opportunities are they really going to have there.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I very much believe that this is going to be a committee where Braille and Allen probably takes forty percent of the carries in this backfield.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe it's somewhere like Breeze Hall at like forty six percent.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Braille and Allen at forty percent.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: The rest are dived up between like Isaiah Davis and another random runner.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think Braille and Allen's going to be very very involved.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: And if something were to happen to Breeze Hall, like he's going to be obviously one of the top waver wire pickup.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I think when you're looking at that grouping of handcuffs, when you have Braille and Allen and the Rendo together and trade Benson and like the J.L.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: and Wrights of the world, Allen is one of the top guys for me and Ray Davis and stuff like that.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I am looking at Allen's, I believe, is a really good player.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: Not a really good player dealing with some back issues.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's Matthew Stafford here out in LA.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: He is not in training camp not participating because of some back issues right now from what I've gathered listening to a bunch of podcasts from Rams beat reporters McVay seems not concerned like they don't actually have a ton of concern with this.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: Stafford's been dealing with back issues since like
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: twenty seventeen or twenty eighteen.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, he's had chunks were his missed time because of it.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: But from what I'm hearing inside the building, they genuinely are not overly concerned with this.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: So honestly, I would be buying the dip on a guy like Puka if he starts going at the one twelve two one two two because of this Stafford back news.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: I do think if we get into later August and he's not playing at all.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's not participating in the practice scrimmages.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: He's not getting on the field at all.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'll start to get a little bit more suspect with it, but for right now, I won't overanalyze the back issue right now.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you know, it adds a weird little, you know, not in your stomach when you see it.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: If you are a poop owner, if you have been drafting, debonta Adams pretty heavily, kind of Williams is obviously going to take a major hit a lot of his fantasy value comes from the fact that this team gets inside the five yard line often and he always gets those goal line carries.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: So if Saver is not playing, of course, like you do have to factor in a little bit of risk here, but I don't want to over-hype it just because the headlines of like, oh, his backs fucked up is going to be a problem.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: One player whose injury is very odd right now, and I do think will affect the rankings is Joe Nixon.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: I've actually moved Joe mixing down to like running back twenty eight twenty nine in my rankings because of this odd foot lower leg injury that he's dealing with apparently he like resuffered a foot injury, which he hurt twice last year, not participating in training camp.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're saying that he's like, you know, they hope he could be ready for week one
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, weird vibes out there in Houston for Joe mixing.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's obviously on the much older side of things as it relates to the running back position right now was great to start the year.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, he suffered the injuries and cooled down down the stretch.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: They also have arguably the worst offense of line in the NFL.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be a lot more pass heavy with John Morton coming over from the L.A.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: Ram system.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: So mixing is weird.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: You got Woody marks behind him as a pass catching specialist out of USC.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: That was Sonic Chub.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that I really want to invest in this backfield at all, and I think this might just be like a very, very high volume passing game, so like Nico Collins as my guy.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Another injury, Isaiah likely broken foot.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a chance that he could end up starting the year on the pump.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't heard much about that, but I do think we're getting dangerously close.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: This feels like a six-ish week recovery time table could be a little bit longer if it lingers.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I think there's a real chance he starts on the pump.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a real chance that he misses week one or week two or whatever.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And if that's the case, right?
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: And he's coming off of like a broken foot and that's something that he can't really recover from until the second half of twenty twenty five or whatnot.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like Mark Andrews obviously gets a huge boost.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: So regardless of early on in the in the summer, I was like, I'm off of Mark Andrews.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: I'm off of Travis Kelsey.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: They are there old their past that age cliff.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: They were ultra not productive last year outside of Andrews just going a lot of touchdown.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: All their efficiency numbers kind of dipped.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: I was out on them, but now you're kind of force fed volume like there's no way around not projecting both of them with Rossi Rice likely out and suspended Isaiah likely possibly missing games like the offense has to run a little bit through them.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: So Isaiah likely being out does move Mark Andrews up to I think my tight end six spot right now.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: And again, all my rankings will be updated throughout the entire summer.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Basically, in real time, after every preseason weekend as well, I will be giving you guys full write ups of like the snap counts that I think are really important for you to know who is running in the slot, who is running in two wide receiver sets, who is running in two and four minute drills out of the back field.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's an exclusive article that will only go up in the draft guide.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: Again, the cheapest price to get it will be throughout partner page on our website.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: It has instructions on what to do down there first.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Linky poo.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: So it's more of the chargers.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: We got two players on this list.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, O'Marion Hampton, their first round pick.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: And it's nothing that I think he's done, but the Naji Harris, like firework thing from July fourth.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to know what to think.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: But we've gotten no concrete news.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing real.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: We got like a picture surfacing of Naji Harris being at practice.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's like fully messed up.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like he's about to rob a fucking bank.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what's going on there.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: If he lost a fucking eyeball and they're not telling us right now, but nothing is emerging from there.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: And listen, if he continues to just miss all of training camp, I'm already in Hampton is going to get so comfortable running with the starters and running with Justin Herbert and learning this scheme.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, yes, he's a rookie, but Nike Harris is also new here as well.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: So he has to learn a new scheme, too.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's not like he's a rookie, of course, but like when you make your way into a new offense and going from Arthur Smith's complex run scheme, I know people give him shit, but he's got a very, very successful complex run scheme.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Roman, same way, probably.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that I don't think that's an easy run scheme to learn.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: So Nasi, missing all this practice time, like, I'm already in Hampton.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: They're gonna have no choice, but to give him, you know, that RB one kind of workhorse role.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: out the gate.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: And there's like nowhere that feels too high for Hampton.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: He has moved into my RB-Twelfth spot.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: So he is for me a legit back end top twelve guy for me, which makes me feel a lot more comfortable drafting at the end of round three.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, I love that back end turn.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: If you're drafting in one quarterback league and you have like the one eleven one twelve and you're able to double tap like
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Nico Collins and BTJ, or, you know, Malik neighbors or Puka and Devon HN.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: At the end of the third round, I was like, I don't know that I love any of the picks here, but if Hampton is going to continuously go around there, smash pick.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: The other charger that I wanted to briefly touch on is Kandra Lambert Smith.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: He was a fifth round rookie out of Auburn.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of a slider frame, but has a similar play style to Mike Williams, who just retired.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Lambert Smith has been making plays pretty much daily consistently at training camp tray hours with missing some time with the contract dispute.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: He has signs, so he's back at practice right now.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: But Lambert Smith is legitimately fighting for like one of the top three roles in this offense, obviously lad is there, but then it's like Quentin Johnson tray hours and Lambert Smith.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: He has blazing speed.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: He could beat press.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: He makes him great like high point catches down the field very much like
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Williams, I don't think he could do everything, but I think he's a good compliment to what Herbert offers in this passing game and his explosive arm down the field.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: So he's a dude again, very end of best ball drafts, maybe dynasty waiver, why are if he's available.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Sticking with that same type beat, Deante Thornton.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: It is the most difficult name to say.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like you want to say Thorin, but then there's just an end between the R and the T here.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Dante Thorin out of Las Vegas.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: Wide receiver.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: Apparently he is running as the pure X wide receiver with the starters.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: And right now it is a battle between Tray Tucker and Jackbush for that number three Y Flanker-ish type of role.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yantay, Thornton, Thornton.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna call him DT from now on.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Rest in peace to the real goat DT.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: DT, six, five, two, oh, five, ran a four, three, zero, flat.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Six, five, a four, three, zero, flat.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: A little bit of a weird like box score in college.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: You start an Oregon transfer to Tennessee.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: He never had more than twenty-six catches in a single season in college.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: He played four college seasons last year at Tennessee.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: Was his highest catch total with just twenty-six catches, but he averaged twenty-five point four yards per reception.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: Every time he caught a ball, it was over twenty-five yards down field, which was number one in the NCAA by far.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: Just a bigger better version of Tray Tucker, basically.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: He's a little bit of a project for sure.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think he can separate versus man coverage.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: He could obviously stack defenders on the outside and like you have four, three, oh, speed.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: You're able to spread the field.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I think this is good news for guys in particular.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm not really drafting DT with any sort of interest.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like Jack Bess was drafted before him in these shows.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: You're a second round pick and they probably want him to
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: to win the starting job.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: But what DT does is keep the defenses honest when you're that big and you're that fast.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like Jacobi Myers and Brock Bowers are going to be able to move and be chess pieces all over the middle of the field.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I love what this opens up for them in particular.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: What else we got here?
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: We got some hype on tank bigsby.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: He was a guy that I was pretty on early in the spring.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think my my take on Jacksonville is like if any of these guys starts going within the top like hundred eighty p. I'm likely out.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just fading like the overconfidence of the market and knowing who the starter is in this backfield.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's been like Travis ETN was like the clear one all spring which never felt like a good stance to take in this backfield.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: Tank was easily the most efficient runner on the ground.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: You have Liam Cohen who deployed a running back by committee, based on two and everybody loved him as a fourth round pick.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's fun, but he's got fumbling issues.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't seem like he's really getting any reps with the starters.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: He feels a little bit more like a developmental guy.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_00]: Which makes sense because tank and ETN are both veterans right now.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think two in if Jacksonville feels like ETN is kind of like passes prime.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're like we don't really like this guy.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Two in his next up in like a perfect replacement given pass catching ability size, explosiveness speed like the dude can absolutely fire himself out of a rocket.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: But tank is the one right now apparently like getting most of the shine at the running back position his pass catching upside.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely not there.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: We'll probably get goal-line work, but like if I'm taking one, like all else equal, you allow me to take one of them on my team, it's gonna be tank.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: But again, my overall take on the situation is I'm just gonna fade over confidence from the market, thinking they know how to predict who's gonna be the guy that comes out.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: And there's always like the thirty percent chance that no one is good enough consistently that you want them on the team.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: Even if at the end of the year, like tank scores six touchdowns, rushes for nine, fifty,
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that might come in the, you know, most of his production might come in the course of like four to five games when you didn't even know where to start him.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: So it's, it's a messy situation overall out there.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: One situation that is just not messy is a mecca book.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I've been on that train all summer.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: He was someone that, you know, I hope you were drafting a ton of in baseball.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think there's a guy who's gotten more hype out of training camp.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: then a mechagbuka, the first round pick for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, coming into like replace Chris Godwin as an insurance policy, but like I really wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the year, Abuka is like the target leader.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: If he is the highest target chair from weeks eight through seventeen, Mike Evans is getting older, obviously.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: And listen, Mike Evans was great last year, but if you look at the numbers, the splits between Mike Evans played with Chris Godwin and when Chris Godwin was out, Mike Evans was the wide receiver twenty in fantasy points for game when Godwin was there.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: why receiver five when goblin wasn't there.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: So I get it.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like Evans is coming off another thousand yard year and he's a good receiver obviously still, but like I don't want to gas up my governance to the point where we are becoming disillusioned about what's happening.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: There was the picture that surface about Chris Godwin's ankle.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: He had a second ankle surgery that I don't think a lot of people knew about and was not planned.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a typical progression of the way that his injury occurred.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're not supposed to have that second surgery, which like has
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: put concerned into the fantasy community.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I think rightfully so he's not a training camp right now.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's been placed on the pup to start doesn't mean he can't come off of it.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I think there's a real chance that he could start the regular season on the pup and missiles first for games.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: And once you take a book out the bottle, man, we're drunk on it.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: There's no putting him back in there.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Ibuka has been my favorite like tenth eleven round pick and I think he's going to continue to move up draft boards and if I look at my rankings right now, this is actually crazy.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: I have godwin at wide receiver forty three and a mecca book at wide receiver forty four.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: They are back to back of my rankings.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_00]: All the vibes about Chris Godwin are horrendous and honestly if I'm in a draft right now and it's like the eighth ninth round around choosing between the two, I don't know that I'm taking Godwin over Ibuka.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be a goat.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: And lastly, while we're on the topic of goats, talk about Anthony Richardson, man.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: All spring, it was believed that he was going to miss the large majority of training camp.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: He missed OTAs, he missed those like voluntary practices, but he was on the field and ready to go at the start of training camp.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: So while it looked like Daniel Jones was just going to take over and be the starter for week one, that was like the reports out of there where like, yeah, he's, you know, he's going to have all this time to rep with the ones and it's going to be an uphill battle for Anthony Richardson to get play time.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: They started, same day in training camp, and I think if all else is equal with no missed time for me rich without training camp, I think there's a really, really strong chance.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: He is the weak one starter.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: And listen, I know a rich has been bad, but like, at this point in fantasy, he is the perfect QB-III to draft in a super flex league.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: He is the perfect guy like his ADP's quarterback, twenty six or twenty seven.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: I get it.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: There's a really good chance.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think both of them start Daniel Jones and Anthony Richardson, both start
- 20:26[SPEAKER_00]: you know, eight games this year or something like that.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: But it felt more like Daniel Jones was going to win the week one starting job.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: And he would have to legitimately go out and lose it to a rich for a rich to start more than like six games this year.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: If I had to predict right now, I would say Anthony Richardson wins the starting job because the Colts want him to win the starting job, obviously.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still leaving the light on man.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm still leaving the light on for anything Richardson.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: He is a target of mine right now in super flex and even one quarterback leagues like if you go with uh, I don't know if you go with like a Caleb Williams shooting for upside with their QB one and like shit falls flat with the bears and then you have a rich behind them like that's a great fantasy backup guy to have because as bad as he is on the field he's phenomenal in your fantasy lineups no matter which way you look at it.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: So those are a bunch of guys that we are buying the storylines of buying the hype of.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: I would just say if there's one storyline I'm not buying the hype of it's Kyle Pitch.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we ain't doing that.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: We ain't doing that shit.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: You guys actually make me sick to my stomach.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: People are having Kyle Pitch.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna end it there.
