- 0:01Speaker 1: Late General Man, welcome the late base.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Well, good evening and thanks for joining us.
- 0:09Speaker 3: I'm James Macpherson with Liz Storer and filling in for
- 0:12Speaker 3: Caleb Bond Joe Hildebrand on this historic day as US
- 0:16Speaker 3: President Joe Biden announces he's dropping out of the presidential campaign.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We'll get to all of that in a moment.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Plus a little later, we want to show you an
- 0:25Speaker 3: AI fashion parade featuring world leaders. It's incredibly realistic, demonstrates
- 0:31Speaker 3: just how advanced AI has become, and it's gone viral
- 0:35Speaker 3: forty million viewers in less than twenty four hours since
- 0:39Speaker 3: it was posted. Plus, when we look at what's making
- 0:41Speaker 3: news tomorrow, we'll detail how the papers are covering today's
- 0:46Speaker 3: US presidential news. Now, we've got Annalie Nielson, our Sky
- 0:50Speaker 3: News correspondent waiting for us in Washington, d C. We'll
- 0:52Speaker 3: go to her in just a moment to get the
- 0:54Speaker 3: very latest. But just before we do, Liz and Joe,
- 0:58Speaker 3: just give me your first reactions when you heard the
- 1:00Speaker 3: news today that Biden had said, that's it.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I'm not going to stand for reelection.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I just want to know if he knows that he's resigned,
- 1:08Speaker 1: because very few people are talking about how utterly insane
- 1:12Speaker 1: it is that the president of the United States of
- 1:15Speaker 1: America has resigned.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Via a tweet. A tweet.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Nobody's seen or heard from him today. The last we
- 1:23Speaker 1: saw of him was im boarding or rather I'm getting
- 1:27Speaker 1: off air Force one. After announcing that he had COVID,
- 1:30Speaker 1: many people were like, does he even have COVID. He's
- 1:33Speaker 1: not wearing a mask. This just doesn't seem believable. And
- 1:36Speaker 1: the next we hear from him is this tweet from
- 1:38Speaker 1: a Twitter account. We know that he doesn't tweet to himself,
- 1:42Speaker 1: it's always one of his staffers, So I want.
- 1:44Speaker 4: To see the man himself.
- 1:47Speaker 1: To me, this just seems it's so unprecedented that one
- 1:51Speaker 1: would simply resign the highest office in the.
- 1:55Speaker 4: World by tweeting. That is nuts. That is absolutely nuts.
- 2:02Speaker 5: Luzzie Joe, what about you?
- 2:03Speaker 6: Yeah, there's an old saying, how did you go bankrupt?
- 2:05Speaker 6: At first very slowly and then very quickly? And that
- 2:08Speaker 6: seems to me how Joe Biden lost the presidency, Like
- 2:11Speaker 6: he wouldn't go, wouldn't go, dug In, didn't go when
- 2:14Speaker 6: he should have, and it could have been of some
- 2:16Speaker 6: benefit to the actual party and the nation then and
- 2:20Speaker 6: then suddenly he just it's just like bang, that's it.
- 2:23Speaker 6: And apparently those around him, and there's been reports. I
- 2:26Speaker 6: haven't confirmed them, obviously, I'm not in Delaware or the
- 2:28Speaker 6: White House, but there are reports that even those closest
- 2:32Speaker 6: to him, and we had his own co chair of
- 2:34Speaker 6: the campaign hours early. No, he's definitely the nice. So
- 2:36Speaker 6: he's made fools of those around him, and he's suddenly
- 2:38Speaker 6: spontaneously going, that's it.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I'm out, not even planning.
- 2:42Speaker 6: It or executing it, giving it the dignity of a
- 2:45Speaker 6: farewell speech or standing up in front of the it's
- 2:49Speaker 6: embarrassing to be all right.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Well, let's go live to Washington, d C.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Where our Sky News correspondent and Aalise Nielsen is waiting for us.
- 2:57Speaker 2: At least thanks for joining US Legal.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Liz Store has already preempted my first question, but I'm
- 3:02Speaker 3: going to ask it anyway.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And I can't believe we have to ask this.
- 3:06Speaker 3: But bearing in mind, no one's seen Joe Biden for days.
- 3:10Speaker 3: He's hiding away with COVID, and he made the announcement
- 3:14Speaker 3: via a Twitter account he does not control. Are we
- 3:17Speaker 3: absolutely sure the US president knows that he's not running
- 3:20Speaker 3: for reelection.
- 3:23Speaker 7: Look, it is bizarre that they've chosen to do it
- 3:26Speaker 7: this way. And when they announced it via Twitter yesterday afternoon,
- 3:29Speaker 7: there had already been a lid called on the White
- 3:32Speaker 7: House press course, so that's essentially the White House says,
- 3:35Speaker 7: there's nothing happening today, so you can stand down. You
- 3:37Speaker 7: don't need to be on standby for any potential changes.
- 3:41Speaker 7: And the assumption was that that was going to change,
- 3:44Speaker 7: that there'd be some kind of announcement in the hours after,
- 3:47Speaker 7: there'd be some kind of address, like we saw with
- 3:50Speaker 7: Lyndon Johnson when he resigned from the campaign. When Richard
- 3:53Speaker 7: Nixon stepped down, we saw an address, and then as
- 3:56Speaker 7: it became clear that we weren't going to see him,
- 3:59Speaker 7: it really did raise questions about why, especially considering that
- 4:03Speaker 7: the Press Office hasn't been forthright about his clear decline
- 4:08Speaker 7: that we've been witnessing in public. They have called it
- 4:10Speaker 7: cheap fakes when we all saw the same plane videos
- 4:13Speaker 7: showing that he was having issues.
- 4:15Speaker 8: So it is a real question.
- 4:16Speaker 7: It is on the minds of many, and they've said
- 4:19Speaker 7: that he'll address the nation later this week. They're circulating
- 4:23Speaker 7: now potentially Tuesday, night.
- 4:25Speaker 8: But it is utterly bizarre.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Annally's given that in the twenty twenty primaries Kamala had
- 4:32Speaker 1: to drop out because she got less than two percent
- 4:34Speaker 1: of the vote, we know that she's not exactly popular
- 4:38Speaker 1: with the lay party of the Democrats. They've of course
- 4:42Speaker 1: got to make their own decision at the DNC. Roughly
- 4:45Speaker 1: four thousand delegates four thousand votes.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Are involved there.
- 4:49Speaker 1: What do you think is the likelihood that given so
- 4:52Speaker 1: many of the people that we have been considered as
- 4:56Speaker 1: maybes who would put their hands up, whether it's Newsome,
- 4:59Speaker 1: whether it's to Jedge, the list wears long, so many
- 5:03Speaker 1: of them have now pledged their.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Commitment to backing Camala.
- 5:07Speaker 1: What do you think we might see at the DNC
- 5:09Speaker 1: next month.
- 5:12Speaker 7: Well, it would have to be a revolt from the
- 5:15Speaker 7: ground level up, because you have to look at it
- 5:17Speaker 7: from the perspective of all the maybes.
- 5:19Speaker 8: Why would you want to get into this mess?
- 5:21Speaker 4: Now?
- 5:21Speaker 7: The reason that Joe Biden apparently really decided to tip
- 5:25Speaker 7: this to the direction of pulling out was that he
- 5:28Speaker 7: was shown polling that showed not only was he going
- 5:30Speaker 7: to lose every swing state, he was going to start
- 5:32Speaker 7: losing safe blue states. He was going to be looking
- 5:35Speaker 7: at risking New Mexico and Virginia's been on the line
- 5:37Speaker 7: for a while and they were saying, look, you're going
- 5:39Speaker 7: to lose that too, So it was going to be
- 5:41Speaker 7: quite a humiliating defeat if the trends continued. You can
- 5:45Speaker 7: imagine all these young up and comers who have time,
- 5:47Speaker 7: who have states that they're already the governor's self, why
- 5:50Speaker 7: would you jump into this now? And especially running alongside
- 5:54Speaker 7: Kamala Harris. She needs someone who really wants to put
- 5:57Speaker 7: forward her agenda, who wants to work with her personally,
- 6:00Speaker 7: and she hasn't come up through that traditional party route.
- 6:04Speaker 7: You're right, she dropped out of Iowa before she ever
- 6:07Speaker 7: had to face a voter. She basically made that one
- 6:10Speaker 7: appearance on stage where she insinuated that Joe Biden was
- 6:13Speaker 7: racist because he perpetuated racist policies from his time in
- 6:16Speaker 7: the Senate and then dropped out and ended up on
- 6:19Speaker 7: the same ticket as him.
- 6:20Speaker 8: That's all completely true.
- 6:22Speaker 7: So when you're looking at who's going to jump into this,
- 6:26Speaker 7: it could be that the delegates themselves decide, and this
- 6:29Speaker 7: is what's going to be happening over the next few days,
- 6:31Speaker 7: that these delegations were seeing from Connecticut. They're going to
- 6:34Speaker 7: hold a special meeting and they'll decide are we going
- 6:36Speaker 7: to support collectively Kamala Harris. I mean, there's nothing to
- 6:40Speaker 7: stop these delegates saying no, actually we like someone else
- 6:43Speaker 7: and picking whoever they like, and then it might force
- 6:46Speaker 7: the hand of someone else to throw their hat in
- 6:48Speaker 7: the ring.
- 6:49Speaker 6: Annelise, I wanted to ask what your response was, and
- 6:52Speaker 6: that of the press pack generally in Washington, and indeed
- 6:56Speaker 6: the community in Washington. There seems to be from a
- 6:58Speaker 6: distance a sense that that you know, Rome is burning
- 7:02Speaker 6: while the Democrats fiddle. It must seem pretty sort of
- 7:07Speaker 6: crazy and chaotic there at the moment.
- 7:12Speaker 8: Look, I can.
- 7:13Speaker 7: Tell you I was copying it a bit from people
- 7:15Speaker 7: here that I was going too far in my reporting
- 7:17Speaker 7: of Joe Biden's clear cognitive decline, and I just thought
- 7:22Speaker 7: it was this kind of ridiculous scenario where I was
- 7:25Speaker 7: just trying to tell people something different than what they
- 7:27Speaker 7: could see with their own eyes. It was just absurd,
- 7:29Speaker 7: and I think it was just such a foregone conclusion.
- 7:32Speaker 7: The panic really set in after the debate, and then
- 7:34Speaker 7: for the last few weeks it's just been kind of
- 7:36Speaker 7: a day by day prospect. But I will tell you
- 7:38Speaker 7: the one thing we did all expect, and we were
- 7:40Speaker 7: all as we were among tons of journalists at the
- 7:44Speaker 7: R and C. We were discussing how Biden was going
- 7:47Speaker 7: to pull out, and the collective just assumption was, of course,
- 7:50Speaker 7: it will be an oval office address. So none of
- 7:52Speaker 7: us thought it would happen over the weekend because we
- 7:54Speaker 7: thought he's still got COVID, he'll have to come back
- 7:56Speaker 7: for it. But also there's similarly a lot of of
- 8:00Speaker 7: Kamala Harris and Washington DC. So I think a lot
- 8:03Speaker 7: of them think this is kind of the thing that's
- 8:05Speaker 7: saved the more and but need to spend a little
- 8:08Speaker 7: more time outside the Beltway and alise.
- 8:12Speaker 3: This decision by Biden not to recontest certainly throws the
- 8:16Speaker 3: election on its head. Do you think Trump might be
- 8:19Speaker 3: regretting doing so well in that debate that he essentially
- 8:23Speaker 3: ended Biden's presidency.
- 8:28Speaker 7: I think they knew exactly what was coming. And I've
- 8:31Speaker 7: said this a few times and I do truly believe
- 8:33Speaker 7: it that we're looking at a very different iteration of
- 8:35Speaker 7: Donald Trump and that he was so restrained in that
- 8:38Speaker 7: debate that he let Joe Biden kind of do it
- 8:41Speaker 7: to himself on the stage. She didn't steamroll him, he
- 8:45Speaker 7: wasn't bullying him. He really just let it happen. And
- 8:47Speaker 7: so I think he's also got quite a strategy laid
- 8:49Speaker 7: out for dealing with Krmla Harris as well, because I
- 8:52Speaker 7: don't think she'll do as well on the debate stage
- 8:55Speaker 7: as she did against Mike Pence, who's definitely more of
- 8:58Speaker 7: a kind of reserved womanly type. But I think from
- 9:02Speaker 7: their perspective it was just a win win. But to
- 9:06Speaker 7: say that as well, I mean, anything can change in
- 9:08Speaker 7: the next few months. I don't think this is just
- 9:10Speaker 7: a foregone conclusion that we have a Trump presidency coming
- 9:13Speaker 7: back in. I mean, we've already seen so many twists
- 9:16Speaker 7: and turns in this there's always the October surprise and
- 9:19Speaker 7: US elections. I wouldn't be putting my cash down on
- 9:22Speaker 7: it a bet just yet if you're so inclined, because
- 9:26Speaker 7: anything can still change, an Alie.
- 9:29Speaker 1: There's been an ipsource poil Reuter's pole just earlier out
- 9:33Speaker 1: this month that put up Michelle Obama as the only
- 9:37Speaker 1: Democrat in hypothetical matches who could beat Donald Trump. We
- 9:44Speaker 1: know that the Obamas are one of the big names
- 9:46Speaker 1: that have not yet come out and endorse Kamala as
- 9:50Speaker 1: so many have.
- 9:52Speaker 4: What are you hearing there on the ground in Washington.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Do you think there is any chance of an Obama
- 9:58Speaker 1: Trump face off.
- 10:02Speaker 7: I think it's kind of funny because it turned out
- 10:04Speaker 7: it started out to such a right wing talking point
- 10:06Speaker 7: that oh, yeah, they're secretly trying to parachute Michelle Obama
- 10:09Speaker 7: in And they've spoken about it long enough that I
- 10:10Speaker 7: think people on the other side have said.
- 10:12Speaker 8: Hey, actually, that's not the worst idea.
- 10:14Speaker 7: It's kind of one of these things that they've brought
- 10:16Speaker 7: into reality themselves. I mean, you just can't rule anything
- 10:20Speaker 7: out at this point. I just don't think she seems
- 10:23Speaker 7: particularly interested in it. It would also be very hard
- 10:25Speaker 7: to take to the voter's her track record, because she
- 10:28Speaker 7: doesn't really Being a first lady is a tough task,
- 10:32Speaker 7: of course, but to try to spin that into being
- 10:35Speaker 7: qualified to be president. It didn't work very well for Hillary,
- 10:38Speaker 7: and she had much more experience in governance. She was
- 10:41Speaker 7: former Secretary of State, and so.
- 10:44Speaker 8: To try and spin that would be hard.
- 10:47Speaker 7: But they are banking on people just hating Donald Trump
- 10:49Speaker 7: that much, and the problem is that they've found that
- 10:52Speaker 7: people have kind of moved on forgotten about it. I've
- 10:55Speaker 7: met a lot of people who are saying voting for
- 10:57Speaker 7: Donald Trump for the first time this election. I've started
- 11:00Speaker 7: calling them Trump rounds because they come around to Trump
- 11:03Speaker 7: and it is this kind of phenomena where they're just
- 11:05Speaker 7: so frustrated with what's happening now that they'll take anything
- 11:09Speaker 7: different and they don't hate Donald Trump as much as
- 11:12Speaker 7: the Democrats were banking well.
- 11:14Speaker 3: And Ales, thanks so much for your time tonight. We
- 11:16Speaker 3: really appreciate you filling us in on the latest there
- 11:19Speaker 3: in Washington, d C. Let's talk about how all of
- 11:23Speaker 3: this unfolded, because it was quite hysterical.
- 11:26Speaker 2: We've already alluded to how unusual this.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Announcement from Biden was, but it was made all the
- 11:31Speaker 3: more unusual by the fact that the co chair of
- 11:34Speaker 3: Biden's election campaign, Cedric Richmond, just a few hours before
- 11:38Speaker 3: Biden dropped out, assured TV viewers Biden was well and
- 11:42Speaker 3: truly staying in the race.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Has Joe Biden lost control of the Democratic Party.
- 11:51Speaker 9: No, he's not, and he's heard those concerns, and I
- 11:53Speaker 9: want to be crystal clear, he's made a decision and
- 11:57Speaker 9: that decision is to accept the name domination and run
- 12:01Speaker 9: for reelection when reelection. And I think that there are
- 12:04Speaker 9: those out there that need to hear it again.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I want to be crystal clear, LI is and there's
- 12:10Speaker 3: those that need to hear it again.
- 12:12Speaker 2: A couple of hours later, whole story had changed. What
- 12:15Speaker 2: on earth are they doing?
- 12:16Speaker 3: Do you think this was the plan all along and
- 12:18Speaker 3: there's just a few Obama and so on knew exactly
- 12:21Speaker 3: what was happening, or they literally making this up as
- 12:24Speaker 3: they go the.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Whole world's stage like after what we have seen over
- 12:28Speaker 1: the past few where it's hard to believe that most
- 12:31Speaker 1: of this isn't perfectly orchestrated. Certainly someone knew what was
- 12:35Speaker 1: going on, but many of Biden's team, enough of them
- 12:38Speaker 1: have come out and said.
- 12:39Speaker 4: We didn't know.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Minutes before his tweet dropped, we didn't know either, So
- 12:43Speaker 1: they were very much on the back foot. So perhaps
- 12:47Speaker 1: his campaign co chair Cedric Richmond there was completely blindsighted.
- 12:53Speaker 4: And who knows.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I mean, Biden has received a lot of flak saying,
- 12:58Speaker 1: you know, it was selfish to leave it this long
- 13:01Speaker 1: and he should have done this sooner. Now the Dems
- 13:03Speaker 1: are on the back foot, and they've.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Got to have a big flurry because.
- 13:06Speaker 1: The election is breathing down our necks, et cetera, and
- 13:09Speaker 1: so on. But given this guy's mental capabilities right now,
- 13:15Speaker 1: you can understand why this would have been a very
- 13:18Speaker 1: hard decision for him to reach. His IQ isn't exactly peaking,
- 13:23Speaker 1: neither is his EQ. It was only until I guess
- 13:26Speaker 1: enough of his nearest and dearest said to him, mate,
- 13:29Speaker 1: you have to get out.
- 13:31Speaker 4: We're just going to lose in a landslide.
- 13:33Speaker 1: At least if we put somebody else in, we can
- 13:35Speaker 1: put up a better fight.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You know, today is National ice cream Day. In the
- 13:40Speaker 2: art of that's cruel.
- 13:41Speaker 3: There is a cruel line that maybe they just offered him.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Look it's true ice. Yeah, I have no doubt that
- 13:49Speaker 6: it's true.
- 13:50Speaker 5: I think that the incredible.
- 13:55Speaker 6: I mean, you talk about the criticism that Biden's had
- 13:57Speaker 6: heaped upon him. He deserves absolutely every last leak. See
- 14:01Speaker 6: very good. I thought i'd do that for it is
- 14:03Speaker 6: nationalized friend Day after all, But it wouldn't be the
- 14:06Speaker 6: first coin that Hunter had.
- 14:07Speaker 5: I can promise you that has.
- 14:09Speaker 4: He wasn't capable.
- 14:10Speaker 5: But that's right. So the ve becomes those around him.
- 14:13Speaker 6: Well, I think he has periods of lucidity, and you know,
- 14:15Speaker 6: according to some reports, he was seething as he realized
- 14:17Speaker 6: he was going to have to do.
- 14:18Speaker 2: This between ten am and four pm.
- 14:20Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right.
- 14:21Speaker 6: I'm not I'm not convinced that the window would be
- 14:24Speaker 6: that long. But clearly, you know, even people until like
- 14:27Speaker 6: people with dementia and you know, still have moments of
- 14:30Speaker 6: lucidity for a very long time. Clearly, Biden, even from
- 14:32Speaker 6: what we've seen publicly, it has you know, it is
- 14:35Speaker 6: usually more more lucid than not. But but the fact
- 14:39Speaker 6: that he couldn't or didn't come to this decision himself
- 14:42Speaker 6: when it would have been a benefit to the party
- 14:45Speaker 6: and to the nation is disgraceful. The fact that he
- 14:48Speaker 6: couldn't or didn't or wouldn't, that those around him would
- 14:52Speaker 6: refuse to do the same, presumably for their own personal
- 14:56Speaker 6: interest whatever they may be, whether they be future political
- 14:58Speaker 6: ambitions or whether it just be because they like the
- 15:01Speaker 6: cushy life of the White House, is absolutely disgraceful. Now
- 15:04Speaker 6: people talk about Joe Biden making a sacrifice or serving
- 15:08Speaker 6: the nation, bullshit, that is not his house, that he
- 15:11Speaker 6: lives in the White House, is not his house. It
- 15:14Speaker 6: is a house that belongs to the American people. It
- 15:17Speaker 6: is a house that he got to because of the
- 15:20Speaker 6: Democratic Party machine that rally behind him. It's just like,
- 15:24Speaker 6: you know, it's just like Senator Senator Payman, or it's
- 15:27Speaker 6: just like Senator Thorpe, who think I suddenly now that
- 15:29Speaker 6: I'm on top, now that I'm here, then it's all
- 15:32Speaker 6: about me. That is the opposite of what is supposed
- 15:35Speaker 6: to be collectivist or progressive politics. You only get there
- 15:39Speaker 6: because of the machine, because of the people that put
- 15:41Speaker 6: you there. And then you say, oh no, but I'm
- 15:43Speaker 6: the president. It's all mine now and I'm not giving
- 15:45Speaker 6: it up, even though day after day after day after
- 15:47Speaker 6: day it is clear to absolutely everybody that you are
- 15:50Speaker 6: just handing over state after state after state to Donald Trump,
- 15:54Speaker 6: who you yourself say, is some crazy dictator who's going
- 15:58Speaker 6: to destroy the country. So, even by your own reckoning
- 16:01Speaker 6: of what this person is and what their threat is
- 16:04Speaker 6: to democracy and to the country that you prepare to love,
- 16:07Speaker 6: you still value your own cushy lifestyle in the White House,
- 16:11Speaker 6: even after all the evidence coming through that is showing
- 16:14Speaker 6: that you are going to burn that house down, and
- 16:18Speaker 6: it is a disgrace. I feel nothing but absolute fury
- 16:21Speaker 6: and anger at him, and he's in a circle. They
- 16:23Speaker 6: do not deserve a jot of sympathy from me or
- 16:26Speaker 6: anyone else who believes in progressive politics or America or democracy.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Well, just on that point of people loving the trappings
- 16:32Speaker 3: of the White House, Jill Biden, of course, we know,
- 16:35Speaker 3: really did love her husband being president.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I mean, in their defense though they both spend most
- 16:40Speaker 1: of his presidency and Delaware.
- 16:43Speaker 3: But I mean, you've got to feel for Jill Biden
- 16:44Speaker 3: because she's on the cover of Vogue magazine next month.
- 16:48Speaker 3: In just a couple of weeks this was due to
- 16:50Speaker 3: be released. I don't know if they'll still print it,
- 16:52Speaker 3: and I'm not sure if you can see the subheading
- 16:54Speaker 3: on the magazine cover, it says, we will decide our future.
- 16:59Speaker 3: If they that magazine cover, maybe they go with the photo.
- 17:03Speaker 3: They still call her the first Lady, but instead of
- 17:05Speaker 3: saying we will decide our future, maybe they just change
- 17:07Speaker 3: that to read George Clooney has decided.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Our future has been decided.
- 17:12Speaker 1: But speaking of people that I just utterly despise, I
- 17:17Speaker 1: think Jill has to be held responsibly.
- 17:20Speaker 4: What kind of vile.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Human being, knowing her husband has ailing mental faculties props
- 17:29Speaker 1: him up for years. At least that guy's sick. Okay,
- 17:33Speaker 1: that guy has clear issues. Everyone can see it if
- 17:36Speaker 1: you listen to him speak for thirty seconds. We've had
- 17:39Speaker 1: people who are professionals in Parkinson saying I could have
- 17:44Speaker 1: diagnosed this guy.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Just watching him walk through a car park.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It is that obvious. Mentally and physically, he is ailing.
- 17:51Speaker 1: It has been that way for years. What kind of
- 17:54Speaker 1: wife forces their husband just keeps propping us up. She
- 17:59Speaker 1: should have been the first one to say years ago, honey,
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's time to tap out.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Instead, she's been the one that he's been.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Like blindly groping for a thousand times on stage. Is
- 18:10Speaker 1: he's sitting down in chairs that don't exist, He's staggering
- 18:14Speaker 1: off to the wrong side of the stage. He's referring
- 18:16Speaker 1: to her as somebody else. The eyes of the world
- 18:20Speaker 1: have been on this for a very long time, and
- 18:22Speaker 1: that woman has done nothing but prop him up, pretend
- 18:27Speaker 1: like nothing's going on. If anything, I despise her more
- 18:32Speaker 1: than him, because at least he has dementia. At least
- 18:35Speaker 1: he's living in an alternate universe in his own head,
- 18:39Speaker 1: whereby he probably thought he was doing what was best
- 18:42Speaker 1: for the nation by staying in the race and hanging
- 18:44Speaker 1: on to.
- 18:45Speaker 4: It with everything.
- 18:46Speaker 1: People his nearest and dearest surrounding him knew the truth,
- 18:50Speaker 1: and they just kept him in the race. And is
- 18:53Speaker 1: there any wonder that it then took him so long
- 18:56Speaker 1: to come to the same conclusion because they had been
- 18:59Speaker 1: dis on for so long. They propped up his delusions.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I'm up to it. I can take Trump on again.
- 19:06Speaker 3: When you said his nearest and dearest, I wasn't sure
- 19:08Speaker 3: whether you meant Jill and Hunter or MSNBC and CNN.
- 19:11Speaker 4: All of them.
- 19:13Speaker 3: An Alie Snelson was talking about the fact that, having
- 19:16Speaker 3: announced he was dropping out of the race via Twitter.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Joe Biden is expected to address the nation at some point,
- 19:23Speaker 3: I suppose. But Joe, maybe the reason he hasn't addressed
- 19:26Speaker 3: the nation immediately is because he should get quit. I
- 19:29Speaker 3: say should, because you can't trust the media to ask
- 19:32Speaker 3: if he's not fit to run for reelection, why is
- 19:35Speaker 3: he fit to remain in the oval office for the
- 19:37Speaker 3: next six or seven months. And the other question is,
- 19:40Speaker 3: just sixteen days ago, he made a public address at
- 19:43Speaker 3: which he said, let me be as clear as I can.
- 19:45Speaker 3: I'm staying in the race. What's changed in sixteen days?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Those are questions I can't imagine, And.
- 19:51Speaker 5: That is why answer.
- 19:53Speaker 6: That is why taking so long to make this decision
- 19:56Speaker 6: is such a despicable move. And that's just one of
- 19:58Speaker 6: many reasons. But yes, he's invited all this criticism, Mary.
- 20:01Speaker 6: He could have easily said I beat Donald Trump. I
- 20:03Speaker 6: got the highest ever vote in US political history. Clearly,
- 20:06Speaker 6: I'm now over eighty years old. This is it's time
- 20:09Speaker 6: for me to pass the torch onto the next generation
- 20:13Speaker 6: and bow out a hero.
- 20:14Speaker 5: He didn't do that.
- 20:15Speaker 6: He had that opportunity, whether it was Laidy Macbeth in
- 20:17Speaker 6: the wings who was egging him on, or whether or
- 20:20Speaker 6: not it was his own pretty healthy ego. It has
- 20:22Speaker 6: to be said, this is a bloker's wanted to be
- 20:23Speaker 6: present for a.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Long, long, long, long long time and has.
- 20:27Speaker 6: A very very you know, as you do anyone in Washington,
- 20:30Speaker 6: a very very healthy self regard and elephant tye hide.
- 20:34Speaker 6: And so you know, I don't think he was just
- 20:37Speaker 6: the innocent one. It's a trope throughout Roman history that
- 20:40Speaker 6: it's always the evil wife or the evil stepmother that
- 20:42Speaker 6: does it. All, but I reckon. He's got to own this.
- 20:45Speaker 6: And again, the fact that he was so adamant was
- 20:47Speaker 6: digging his heels in even after it was clear at
- 20:49Speaker 6: all and Sundry that was untenable. It now makes his
- 20:52Speaker 6: announcement via Twitter so absolutely absurd, and it does raise
- 20:57Speaker 6: questions about what is left the five months that has
- 20:59Speaker 6: left of his legacy as president, which just underscores their
- 21:02Speaker 6: own own goal. And furthermore, it actually f's up the
- 21:07Speaker 6: next candidate, who everyone knows was always probably going to
- 21:09Speaker 6: be Karmla. But again, if he's just sided you know what,
- 21:12Speaker 6: screw you all, I'm tweeting that I'm gone.
- 21:14Speaker 5: You just sort it out, which is what it looks like.
- 21:16Speaker 6: It looks like an active spite that blindsided those closest
- 21:20Speaker 6: to him, even those who were still doing it. He's
- 21:22Speaker 6: made them look stupid, he's made them look like lies.
- 21:24Speaker 6: He's undermined their credibility so they won't necessarily be trusted
- 21:28Speaker 6: when they're out on the campaign trail for the next person.
- 21:30Speaker 5: So he sabotaged them too.
- 21:32Speaker 6: And of course he's sabotaged whoever the next candidate is
- 21:34Speaker 6: because by not telling anyone that, all right, I'm going
- 21:36Speaker 6: to do this. I'm going to go out, How are
- 21:37Speaker 6: we going to do this? How are we going to
- 21:39Speaker 6: orchestrate it? Who are we going to endure?
- 21:40Speaker 5: So are Karma Barrack? Are you going to do that?
- 21:43Speaker 5: Are you going to do that?
- 21:44Speaker 6: Clearly he's just decided no, it's all too toxic, and
- 21:47Speaker 6: he's just cracked a hissy fit and got no, screw you.
- 21:49Speaker 6: I'm putting out a twist.
- 21:51Speaker 1: People have said, oh, well, he has COVID, so he
- 21:55Speaker 1: couldn't have like faced up to the nation and done
- 21:57Speaker 1: a proper address. But why wouldn't you just wait a
- 22:00Speaker 1: couple more days so you can do it properly? If
- 22:04Speaker 1: it is true that COVID is the reason why.
- 22:07Speaker 4: You've had to just tweet this.
- 22:08Speaker 1: From your basement or rather get a staff at two.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Let's remember the last time a president of the United
- 22:15Speaker 1: States actually resigned pulled out of the race, it was
- 22:18Speaker 1: Lyndon Johnson back in nineteen sixty eight.
- 22:22Speaker 4: At least the guy did a proper job of it.
- 22:27Speaker 5: I do not believe.
- 22:29Speaker 10: That I should devote an hour day of my time
- 22:34Speaker 10: to any personal partisan causes, or to any duties other
- 22:41Speaker 10: than the awesome duties of this office. The presidency of
- 22:48Speaker 10: your country. Accordingly, I shall not see and I will
- 22:56Speaker 10: not accept the nomination of my party for another term as.
- 23:01Speaker 5: You're a president.
- 23:03Speaker 4: I've course similar reasons.
- 23:05Speaker 1: The polling was so bad they knew he was going
- 23:07Speaker 1: to lose, and Nixon went on.
- 23:08Speaker 4: To become the most popular.
- 23:10Speaker 1: US elected president of his day at the time in
- 23:14Speaker 1: American history.
- 23:15Speaker 6: Well, this is the thing, and this is what happens.
- 23:18Speaker 6: I'm not sure exactly, to be honest, how much Lyndon
- 23:20Speaker 6: Johnson would have lost compared to the person who ended
- 23:23Speaker 6: up replacing him. This is at a time when the
- 23:25Speaker 6: Democratic Party was under a huge amount of pressure from
- 23:28Speaker 6: dirty little hippie activists who were out there in Chicago.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Mayor Daily of course cracked a few of their skulls
- 23:34Speaker 6: with the local constabulary. Good to see the Democrats cracking
- 23:38Speaker 6: down on left wing tritz, which the Labor Party would
- 23:40Speaker 6: do the.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Same thing here.
- 23:41Speaker 6: But the point being this, this anti Vietnam sentiment, the protest,
- 23:47Speaker 6: the activism spook the party, so the party weren't going
- 23:50Speaker 6: to endorse endorse Lyndon Johnson, despite the fact he was
- 23:54Speaker 6: the one who you know, put the pieces back together
- 23:57Speaker 6: after Kennedy. In one in sixty four. First time time,
- 24:01Speaker 6: This is the first time now and more than half
- 24:02Speaker 6: a century later, that anyone has actually any party is
- 24:05Speaker 6: actually not endorsed a sitting president.
- 24:07Speaker 5: They even backed Carter for a second go. So there
- 24:09Speaker 5: you go. So the party, I'll give it.
- 24:15Speaker 6: The party decided, nah, we're not going to go with LBJ,
- 24:18Speaker 6: We're going to go with mars ba For anyone.
- 24:21Speaker 5: Who can name the candidate.
- 24:22Speaker 6: I keep forgetting it myself, but have a look at
- 24:24Speaker 6: how the nineteen sixty eight election ended up playing out.
- 24:28Speaker 6: I think we've got a nice little graphic there. So
- 24:31Speaker 6: what happened was Richard Nixon got three hundred and one
- 24:37Speaker 6: of the electoral votes right, the electoral college votes right,
- 24:41Speaker 6: That is an absolute landslide, that is more than fifty
- 24:45Speaker 6: percent higher and more than times and a half what
- 24:49Speaker 6: Hubert Humphrey, the Democrats candidate, got one hundred and ninety one.
- 24:54Speaker 6: So an absolute landslide. And oh, they say, oh, but
- 24:57Speaker 6: it's not fair because it's the electoral college vote. You know,
- 24:59Speaker 6: that doesn't reflect the will of the people. Nixon also
- 25:02Speaker 6: won the popular vote by about half.
- 25:06Speaker 5: A million I think it was. Now and again, just remember,
- 25:08Speaker 5: how do you remember.
- 25:09Speaker 6: The sixties peace love protests against the Vietnam War, the
- 25:14Speaker 6: left right, flower children, you know at Berkeley's, you know,
- 25:18Speaker 6: Berkeley hate Ashbury, all this stuff, right, and that produced
- 25:23Speaker 6: the biggest conservative landslide in US political history. Because it
- 25:28Speaker 6: wasn't just Nixon that got up, because this was also
- 25:31Speaker 6: the time of the Civil rights movement as well. So
- 25:33Speaker 6: all these activists going down the South and doing voter registration,
- 25:36Speaker 6: which is fantastic, that is one thing, absolutely one hundred
- 25:38Speaker 6: percent support. But if we show that graphic again, there
- 25:41Speaker 6: was another third candidate that ran.
- 25:43Speaker 5: In this election.
- 25:44Speaker 6: He was a bloke called George Wallace, who was a
- 25:47Speaker 6: former Democrat himself a Southern Democrat, the mean and nasty,
- 25:51Speaker 6: racist kind. He was an ardent segregationist, and he picked
- 25:55Speaker 6: up almost fifty I think it's forty six electoral college vote,
- 26:00Speaker 6: So he picked up those a few of those Southern states,
- 26:04Speaker 6: and of course that tore away support from Hubert Humphrey,
- 26:08Speaker 6: who will go down as history's smallest ever footnote.
- 26:11Speaker 5: The interesting thing though, of course.
- 26:12Speaker 6: Is he's JFK even if you put even if you're
- 26:15Speaker 6: well the RFK that's right, even if you put all those.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Votes together, but still don't come close to Nixon.
- 26:21Speaker 6: So point being, Nixon gets in an absolute landslide kills it.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 26:26Speaker 6: Even with this other Democrat, even if you combine them both,
- 26:29Speaker 6: they still don't get close to him.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Now you've got Trump.
- 26:32Speaker 6: Where people would walk through boiling hot lava to vote
- 26:35Speaker 6: for Donald Trump, and he's no matter what happens with
- 26:38Speaker 6: the Democrat number, Trump's number is not coming down. In fact,
- 26:41Speaker 6: it's slightly kicked upwards, right, And so you've got Trump
- 26:44Speaker 6: up here, comel up, maybe a bit down here. Maybe
- 26:47Speaker 6: she gets in some of the swing states within five,
- 26:49Speaker 6: it's not going to get it. But anyway, but RFK,
- 26:52Speaker 6: who's he going to take votes from? There's no way
- 26:55Speaker 6: any Trump voter is going to go at the last minute.
- 26:57Speaker 6: Oh maybe I'm not a Trump guy.
- 26:58Speaker 3: After I guess the difference, Joe, between nine sixty eight
- 27:00Speaker 3: and now is that, as opposed to Hubert Humphrey, Biden
- 27:04Speaker 3: has a brilliant successor and plan for succession in Kamala Harris.
- 27:08Speaker 2: What could possibly go wrong?
- 27:10Speaker 3: Biden tweeted today, I want to offer my full support
- 27:13Speaker 3: and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our
- 27:16Speaker 3: party this year. Democrats it's time to come together and
- 27:20Speaker 3: beat Trump. I'm not so sure they're going to come
- 27:22Speaker 3: together around Kamala Harris, but who knows. And of course
- 27:27Speaker 3: she will be unburdened or is that unbidened by what
- 27:30Speaker 3: has gone before?
- 27:33Speaker 11: I can imagine what can be and be unburdened by
- 27:35Speaker 11: what has been. You know, what can be unburdened by
- 27:40Speaker 11: what has been? What can be unburdened by what has been?
- 27:45Speaker 11: What can be unburdened by what has been?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Now?
- 27:51Speaker 3: I know you're thinking that's ridiculous, no one would ever
- 27:53Speaker 3: vote for that, but trust me, there are some people
- 27:55Speaker 3: who think she's quite brilliant and she's going to absolutely
- 27:57Speaker 3: kill Donald Trump.
- 28:00Speaker 11: It's going to get his ass eaten up by Kamala
- 28:03Speaker 11: in the next to beat.
- 28:05Speaker 8: That's their strategy.
- 28:07Speaker 1: She's got light his ass up in front of the
- 28:10Speaker 1: world and they're going to see it boom.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:14Speaker 1: She's got a wider floor with him, and that lady
- 28:17Speaker 1: can't wait to see it. I mean, you've got to laugh,
- 28:21Speaker 1: right because Biden's out due to his lack of cognitive abilities,
- 28:26Speaker 1: so he's endorsed the woman with the IQ of a
- 28:29Speaker 1: human lump of ham. I mean, it's not much different, really,
- 28:34Speaker 1: And let's keep in mind, because we can all laugh
- 28:37Speaker 1: about Kamala, her words salads, the fact that she never
- 28:40Speaker 1: makes any sense. She kind of talks in rhyme. Nobody
- 28:43Speaker 1: ever really knows what she's saying. One wonders if she
- 28:46Speaker 1: knows what she's saying half the time.
- 28:49Speaker 4: But this woman has a terrible track record.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Take a listen to the debate back in twenty nineteen
- 28:58Speaker 1: where Tulsi Gubbard wiped the floor with Kamala Harris, and
- 29:03Speaker 1: every word that you're about to hear come out of
- 29:06Speaker 1: Tulsi's mouth gospel truth.
- 29:10Speaker 12: She put over fifteen hundred people in jail for marijuana
- 29:12Speaker 12: violations and then laughed about it when she was asked
- 29:14Speaker 12: if she ever smoked marijuana.
- 29:17Speaker 13: She blocked evidence, She blocked evidence that would have freed
- 29:22Speaker 13: an innocent man from death row until the courts forced
- 29:25Speaker 13: her to do so. She kept people in prison beyond
- 29:28Speaker 13: their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the
- 29:30Speaker 13: state of California. And she fought to keep cash bail.
- 29:34Speaker 12: System in place that impacts poor people in the worst
- 29:38Speaker 12: kind of way.
- 29:39Speaker 1: And that's to say nothing of the fact that this
- 29:42Speaker 1: woman Kamala Harris created a bail fund for.
- 29:46Speaker 4: Black Lives Matter rioters who.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Were literally burning cities to the ground. She was also
- 29:54Speaker 1: tasked with solving the border crisis, what in abject failure.
- 30:00Speaker 1: She supported two propositions in California that made it much
- 30:04Speaker 1: harder for law.
- 30:06Speaker 4: Enforces to you know, enforce the law.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And that includes what Tulsey just brought up there, the
- 30:13Speaker 1: no cash bail against the will of Californians. Californians were like,
- 30:18Speaker 1: we do not endorse this. She went ahead with it anyway.
- 30:22Speaker 1: This woman is nothing but a DEEI Higher. We know
- 30:26Speaker 1: that she became VP despite being incredibly unpopular, less than
- 30:32Speaker 1: two percent of the vote at the DNC back in
- 30:34Speaker 1: twenty twenty. She became VP because Biden said out in
- 30:39Speaker 1: the open everyone knew it. Everyone knows it to this
- 30:43Speaker 1: day he needed a woman and a woman who wasn't white.
- 30:48Speaker 1: And now this DEI Higher is looking like the first
- 30:52Speaker 1: pick for president of the United States of America just
- 30:56Speaker 1: because the guy at the top of the ballot has dementia.
- 30:59Speaker 3: I don't think that the Trump campaign, though, can attack
- 31:02Speaker 3: her as a DEI Higher, because you run the risk
- 31:05Speaker 3: of offending women who Trump already has a problem with.
- 31:08Speaker 3: You also run the risk of offending the black community,
- 31:11Speaker 3: who the Republicans are sometimes having trouble with. So exactly
- 31:15Speaker 3: I agree with you is but Trump's Trump can't afford
- 31:17Speaker 3: to go there.
- 31:23Speaker 6: That doesn't matter because he doesn't like these are not
- 31:27Speaker 6: his votes. He doesn't need these, so he's you know, again,
- 31:31Speaker 6: he doesn't have the women anyway. So Karmala is not
- 31:33Speaker 6: going to get this huge block of women voters who
- 31:35Speaker 6: have gone to Trump, and they're going to somehow come
- 31:37Speaker 6: back to the Democrats because it's Karmala. And again she's
- 31:40Speaker 6: not going to get the black vote. The African American
- 31:42Speaker 6: viots just all there.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Somala's only really got one policy right, and that is
- 31:47Speaker 3: abortion that that will be the major issue in this election.
- 31:50Speaker 3: She did famously did a tour of abortion clips a
- 31:53Speaker 3: few months ago. I can't think of another thing that
- 31:56Speaker 3: Kamala Harris aside from Marxism, that she really stands for
- 31:59Speaker 3: other than and abortion rights. Roe versus Wade reinstigating that
- 32:03Speaker 3: will be a major issue.
- 32:05Speaker 2: So yeah, I think I don't think the female vote
- 32:09Speaker 2: can be discounted as a major issue here.
- 32:11Speaker 6: But I suppose they've already what I'm saying is it
- 32:14Speaker 6: is a major issue, but they've already made that decision.
- 32:16Speaker 6: So sixty percent of women have done Yes, we are
- 32:18Speaker 6: worried about reproductive rights, we are worried about abortion. We're
- 32:21Speaker 6: voting Democrats, even when it's the demented guy who can't
- 32:25Speaker 6: remember where he is or who the president.
- 32:27Speaker 5: Of Russia is.
- 32:28Speaker 6: So they're already there. So this is what I'm saying.
- 32:30Speaker 6: They're already And there are plenty of female conservatives.
- 32:33Speaker 5: Obviously as well, who was still voting for Trump. And
- 32:36Speaker 5: just think about that.
- 32:36Speaker 6: Forty percent of women vote for Trump, even after all
- 32:41Speaker 6: his history, even after everything everything he's ever said about women,
- 32:44Speaker 6: done to women, whatever, has all been laid back, they're
- 32:46Speaker 6: still with him. They are not going anywhere, and they're
- 32:49Speaker 6: not going anywhere.
- 32:50Speaker 5: Just that.
- 32:50Speaker 6: So this is what makes and again, she doesn't speak
- 32:53Speaker 6: to Middle America. You know, she's she's an elite, she's
- 32:57Speaker 6: obsessed with identity politics, she's from the co You know,
- 33:00Speaker 6: these are all things that working class rust belt American
- 33:05Speaker 6: voters hype about what the Democratic Party has become. In fact,
- 33:08Speaker 6: we've got a couple of grabs here. This is Kamala
- 33:10Speaker 6: Harris's policy on equality versus equity, and she explains it.
- 33:14Speaker 5: Just pretend you're four years old. Have a listen.
- 33:17Speaker 11: Equality suggest often everybody.
- 33:21Speaker 8: Should get the same thing.
- 33:24Speaker 11: Well, that often assumes everybody started out in the same place,
- 33:29Speaker 11: as opposed to equity, which is everyone should end up
- 33:32Speaker 11: in the same place. And if you then understand not
- 33:36Speaker 11: everybody started out in the same place, you understand some
- 33:38Speaker 11: people need more.
- 33:41Speaker 4: So we all end up in the same place.
- 33:44Speaker 5: So imagine your day day.
- 33:45Speaker 6: Vance's people living in a trial of park thinking why
- 33:49Speaker 6: am I working? You know, three jobs, no minimum wage?
- 33:52Speaker 6: You know, I can't afford to put food on the table.
- 33:55Speaker 6: What are they going to think?
- 33:56Speaker 5: You know?
- 33:56Speaker 6: Again, she sounds like Megan Markel. Yeah, it's this sort
- 34:00Speaker 6: of but it's also this kind of like like it's horrible,
- 34:04Speaker 6: kind of like Instagram, Marxism. Yeah, like all these kind
- 34:07Speaker 6: of cool little buzzwords, and I'm going to explain it
- 34:10Speaker 6: to you like you're a moron.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Well, it gets even worse.
- 34:12Speaker 3: So, I mean, can you imagine her on the world stage,
- 34:15Speaker 3: meeting with say Jijingping or Kim Jong is how she
- 34:20Speaker 3: would introduce herself.
- 34:23Speaker 11: I am Kamala Harris my punouns a.
- 34:25Speaker 1: She of her.
- 34:25Speaker 11: I'm a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit.
- 34:30Speaker 3: I mean, can you imagine no one on the world
- 34:32Speaker 3: stage will take her seriously? Jijingping and friends must be
- 34:36Speaker 3: sitting back absolutely.
- 34:37Speaker 1: So you can't blame Obama not backing this woman. I'm
- 34:42Speaker 1: pretty sure you would have seen him on the few
- 34:44Speaker 1: occasions where he's attended different events with President Biden. He
- 34:49Speaker 1: seems to be pretty reluctant about it even then. So
- 34:53Speaker 1: it comes with no surprise to anyone except for the
- 34:55Speaker 1: person who wrote this headline. Barack Obama's surprise response to
- 35:00Speaker 1: Joe Biden's bombshell. He says, we will be navigating this,
- 35:05Speaker 1: is Obama. We will be navigating uncharted waters in the
- 35:08Speaker 1: days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders
- 35:12Speaker 1: of our party will be able to create a process
- 35:14Speaker 1: from which an outstanding nominee emerges.
- 35:17Speaker 10: I e.
- 35:18Speaker 1: That outstanding nominee is no way in heck, Kamala Harris
- 35:23Speaker 1: in Obama's estimation. I just think this is smart. Everybody
- 35:27Speaker 1: else has come out. The Clinton's, all the people that
- 35:30Speaker 1: you would say, oh, well, you know that's the that's
- 35:33Speaker 1: the golden kiss.
- 35:34Speaker 4: You've got it. Now, this poison Chalice that nobody else
- 35:38Speaker 4: even wants.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Maybe that's why she'll end up with it, because nobody
- 35:41Speaker 1: else is stupid enough to go up against the Trump train.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Nobody wants to burn their political collateral. They're all holding
- 35:48Speaker 1: on till twenty twenty eight, when Trump obviously won't be
- 35:52Speaker 1: able to run again, and the Dems are like, well, okay,
- 35:54Speaker 1: whoever gets the gold this time as the presidential nominee
- 35:58Speaker 1: actually as a chance.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Except why has Obama clearly left it open? Pelosi has
- 36:03Speaker 3: not endorsed Kamala Harris yet that I'm aware of, and
- 36:06Speaker 3: neither is Chuck Schumer. So it does raise the question,
- 36:08Speaker 3: I think, is there that October surprise or earlier as
- 36:12Speaker 3: the I think the fact August that alast mentioned.
- 36:15Speaker 6: The endorsement that matters the most is the endorsement of
- 36:18Speaker 6: all of Karmela's would be rivals at the convention. So
- 36:22Speaker 6: Gavin News, the Michigan they're just they're all just saying,
- 36:27Speaker 6: They're all just.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Saying, no, you have it, you take it, you take it.
- 36:30Speaker 6: And because it's a poison Chalice, and they know she
- 36:32Speaker 6: is going to crash and burn and Barack Obama, there's
- 36:36Speaker 6: a certain other black woman that he wants to make
- 36:37Speaker 6: president and it's Shaw's heck, ain't Kamala Harris exactly?
- 36:41Speaker 2: Well, we're going to go to a break.
- 36:42Speaker 3: When we come back, look at how the newspapers are
- 36:44Speaker 3: covering all of this tomorrow.
- 36:46Speaker 2: You'll hear it from us first, and mister Mumoth, welcome back.
- 36:57Speaker 3: Let's take a look at how the papers are reporting
- 36:59Speaker 3: this tomorrow. Obviously most of the national papers around the
- 37:04Speaker 3: nation are going with the Biden story. We'll start with
- 37:06Speaker 3: the Herald's Son. The headline reads, by Biden, Hello, Harris ailing,
- 37:13Speaker 3: Joe finally quit selection race back's vice president to take
- 37:16Speaker 3: on Trump. What I like about this front page Liz
- 37:20Speaker 3: and Joe is the photographs. They've got a very clueless
- 37:23Speaker 3: looking Joe Biden on the front page and a picture
- 37:26Speaker 3: of Kamala Harris mid cackle.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Which of course she's famous for.
- 37:31Speaker 6: So I just thought it was one of the better
- 37:33Speaker 6: shots of both of them. So there's a nice bit
- 37:36Speaker 6: of a literation.
- 37:37Speaker 5: Now.
- 37:37Speaker 6: I always love seeing how you know, when everyone just
- 37:40Speaker 6: has to cover the same story, You're going, right, how
- 37:42Speaker 6: do we make it.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Different to the front page of the Courier Mail. Now,
- 37:47Speaker 1: who did it better? Their headline Biden won't stand for
- 37:50Speaker 1: second term.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Time for a rest. Joe there, he is looking at
- 37:55Speaker 4: his watch.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Endorses VEEP to beat Trump, despite the fact that the
- 38:01Speaker 1: polling shows that, as.
- 38:02Speaker 4: It stands well, she can't beat Trump.
- 38:05Speaker 6: I liked I like that, you know, time for arrest.
- 38:07Speaker 6: They've got the point of difference. You know, he's looking
- 38:09Speaker 6: at the watches, though the watch is going to explain
- 38:12Speaker 6: to him and this is like what And also the
- 38:15Speaker 6: whole thing is.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Because they've given him a straight tend so he's he's
- 38:19Speaker 1: looking very orange in this shot looking at his watch.
- 38:23Speaker 5: Looks like Sylvia Bela Sconi.
- 38:24Speaker 1: I bet that watch is one of the digital ones,
- 38:28Speaker 1: because you know, it's harder to tell the.
- 38:30Speaker 6: Time every one of those giant ones that sort of
- 38:32Speaker 6: old people have where it's got just nothing but the time,
- 38:35Speaker 6: like in giants.
- 38:36Speaker 5: And digital letters.
- 38:38Speaker 6: Yeah, one of those emergency buttons where the paramedics.
- 38:41Speaker 4: And he's still not sure.
- 38:42Speaker 3: I think the point clearly is his watch has stopped
- 38:45Speaker 3: pretty much as.
- 38:46Speaker 2: He has time has run.
- 38:48Speaker 5: That's right exactly. This one.
- 38:50Speaker 6: I like, this is the TiSER, which is out with
- 38:53Speaker 6: the old And look at that look in Joe Biden's
- 38:56Speaker 6: eye that is someone who is a card carrying member
- 39:00Speaker 6: of Alzheimer's America. He is just absolutely like it's the
- 39:04Speaker 6: glassy eye. You know, love Alzheimer's causes and got plenty
- 39:09Speaker 6: of it in my family. But they have really just
- 39:12Speaker 6: out with the old you don't even need to say
- 39:15Speaker 6: the rest.
- 39:16Speaker 3: They've also gone with the subheading there lame duck Biden
- 39:18Speaker 3: quits race, alluding to the fact that and this will
- 39:21Speaker 3: be a story over the next number of weeks that
- 39:23Speaker 3: we now have a lame duck president or is he
- 39:26Speaker 3: a lame duck? I mean he could literally do anything
- 39:28Speaker 3: he wants in the next few months because he looks
- 39:31Speaker 3: beholden to nobody.
- 39:32Speaker 6: If anyone wants to be pardoned, now is your time?
- 39:36Speaker 3: You've done somewhere, alluding to someone particular, Joe.
- 39:40Speaker 1: I read some hilarious commentary today where they were talking
- 39:44Speaker 1: about the reason why he didn't just be like, Kamala is.
- 39:48Speaker 4: President, now I'm out, She's it.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Tag team was because he needs the next few months
- 39:55Speaker 1: to pardon, namely his family members for certain things that
- 40:00Speaker 1: have I.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Mean, just on that, I mean he said that he
- 40:02Speaker 3: would not pardon Hunter Biden, but surely all bets are
- 40:06Speaker 3: off now. I mean, he's clearly been pushed out of
- 40:09Speaker 3: the presidency, so he'd be pretty ticked off. And the
- 40:14Speaker 3: only thing that would matter now is ensuring the future
- 40:17Speaker 3: of his himself and his immediate family.
- 40:20Speaker 2: So it would not surprise to see him. Pardon.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I just hope this does not mean the end of
- 40:25Speaker 1: the investigative. There's several inquiries into the corruption of the
- 40:30Speaker 1: Biden family. I hope that all still goes full steam
- 40:33Speaker 1: ahead because there is so much.
- 40:35Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure it will under the new guy.
- 40:38Speaker 5: Sorry I said, I'm pretty sure it will under the
- 40:40Speaker 5: new guy.
- 40:41Speaker 4: Yeah, well I.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Hope so rather than them just being like, well, he's
- 40:44Speaker 1: out of power now, so we can, you know, spend
- 40:46Speaker 1: our time on other things.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Well, let's see how the Canberra Times is reporting the story.
- 40:50Speaker 3: They've gone a bit more traditional drama in race for
- 40:54Speaker 3: White House. Joe goes but ken kamala win is the question?
- 41:00Speaker 5: Can I say? This is another?
- 41:01Speaker 6: So there used to be a golden rule in newspapers
- 41:04Speaker 6: where you would never ever put a question mark in
- 41:07Speaker 6: the headline. They've started creeping back in a little bit now,
- 41:10Speaker 6: but even so, the old rule used to be if
- 41:14Speaker 6: a headline has a question mark, the answer is no.
- 41:18Speaker 3: So when you say, what's the psychology in terms of
- 41:20Speaker 3: selling newspapers though, is it bad for sales?
- 41:23Speaker 2: People don't want to buy a.
- 41:24Speaker 6: Head because you're meant to be You're meant to be
- 41:26Speaker 6: the authority. People have questions. A newspaper's job is to
- 41:29Speaker 6: provide the answer, so it's considered lazy. But also, as
- 41:32Speaker 6: the saying goes, if the headline has a question mark,
- 41:35Speaker 6: the answer is no. So it's like a lazy way
- 41:37Speaker 6: of sort of stuff trying.
- 41:38Speaker 5: To create drama or create you know, you.
- 41:41Speaker 6: Don't quite you can't quite stack up the facts of
- 41:44Speaker 6: the story to say this is it, This is the facts,
- 41:46Speaker 6: this is what it is.
- 41:47Speaker 5: So you sort of raise the question. So it's a
- 41:48Speaker 5: bit sort of half baked.
- 41:50Speaker 6: So again saying Joe goes, but can come all in
- 41:53Speaker 6: and question mark The answer is no, So.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Put on your editor's hat, just quickly rewrite the headline
- 41:58Speaker 3: for us, Joe goes.
- 42:00Speaker 6: Joe goes, but the Democrats are still tased.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I love the work included by Kamala, which is already
- 42:08Speaker 1: a lie. I will do everything within my power to
- 42:11Speaker 1: unite the Democratic Party and unite our nation to defeat
- 42:14Speaker 1: Donald Trump at his extreme Project twenty twenty five agenda.
- 42:18Speaker 1: He himself has repeatedly poopooed Project twenty twenty five. Okay,
- 42:23Speaker 1: so maybe start with getting you fats right VP to
- 42:29Speaker 1: the front page of the Australia Now, switch for the Ages,
- 42:32Speaker 1: Pudus pushed out DEM's back Harris as Trump card or
- 42:37Speaker 1: like we did their cool play on words. Is it
- 42:40Speaker 1: really a switch for the ages though, it's like twittled
- 42:43Speaker 1: and tweedled dumb.
- 42:44Speaker 4: It's like.
- 42:46Speaker 2: Nine year olds the top that is.
- 42:53Speaker 5: For the ages.
- 42:54Speaker 4: But switch, Yeah, I was thinking numbers in terms of IQ.
- 42:58Speaker 4: I wasn't thinking it's literally okay.
- 43:02Speaker 6: That's good, very high brow of the oars. That's why
- 43:05Speaker 6: I couldn't get it. That's why I got it that
- 43:08Speaker 6: The Cans Post is also all in on the switcheroo
- 43:13Speaker 6: the new presidential candidate.
- 43:14Speaker 5: Time for a new route.
- 43:17Speaker 6: Actually no, that's about a Corunda Range road that's not
- 43:21Speaker 6: fit for purpose in the tablelands. So nothing to do
- 43:25Speaker 6: with the presence in or.
- 43:27Speaker 3: All right now in Tasmania, not quite as big a
- 43:30Speaker 3: story in the Apple Aisle. The Mercury has gone with
- 43:34Speaker 3: other news, but they have, to their credit put what
- 43:37Speaker 3: do you call that at the top of the strap,
- 43:39Speaker 3: a strap at the top of the paper. Harris steps
- 43:42Speaker 3: up as Joe goes, and you'll find a story buried
- 43:45Speaker 3: on page eight and page spread.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Not quite so interested in life of a story.
- 43:53Speaker 1: The crumb of Australia literally doesn't care. But you know
- 43:58Speaker 1: who cares even less back on the main and the
- 44:00Speaker 1: Northern Territory their front page, you wouldn't know anything was
- 44:04Speaker 1: happening in the States. Nope, they've just got absolutely no
- 44:08Speaker 1: interest here what soever.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Doesn't even get to mention absolutely nothing.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Although this is really sad down the bottom here a
- 44:17Speaker 1: cops plea for change as nine lives lost in twelve
- 44:20Speaker 1: days enough is enough. The Northern territories drink drive laws
- 44:24Speaker 1: could be reviewed in the wake of a horrible road toll.
- 44:27Speaker 4: With thirty nine lives lost so far this.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Year, police have revealed a concerning trend among drivers they
- 44:33Speaker 1: want to end.
- 44:34Speaker 4: Nine lives lost in twelve days.
- 44:36Speaker 5: That was a bit of a downer, Yeah, I.
- 44:38Speaker 6: Mean I thought we were just I just love it
- 44:41Speaker 6: the fact that the nten years doesn't like it's just
- 44:44Speaker 6: like it just doesn't happen in the territory, just didn't happen.
- 44:47Speaker 5: We don't care.
- 44:48Speaker 2: There is a new band, Joe.
- 44:49Speaker 5: He's right.
- 44:50Speaker 2: That's page three.
- 44:51Speaker 3: But just before we finish with the papers, there is
- 44:54Speaker 3: one interesting story that is a non Trump slash. Biden's
- 44:57Speaker 3: story lives on the front page of the in relating
- 45:00Speaker 3: to the Greens and their plans for housing prices. If
- 45:03Speaker 3: you're a homeowner, you will want to hear about this
- 45:06Speaker 3: philis Inla's.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Says Greens housing spokesman. I'm surprised to hear they have one.
- 45:12Speaker 14: Max Chandler Mather has made clear the part minor parties
- 45:16Speaker 14: policies are aimed at achieving a real decline in housing
- 45:19Speaker 14: values over time to ensure the next generation has a
- 45:23Speaker 14: better chance of buying a home.
- 45:26Speaker 1: The headline reads, your home will be worthless with us,
- 45:30Speaker 1: I mean way to sell yourselves.
- 45:32Speaker 4: That's that's just great.
- 45:33Speaker 2: He actually says, this is a direct quote.
- 45:35Speaker 3: I think our goal, our stated goal is to stop
- 45:39Speaker 3: house price growth to zero, so we'll get zero growth percent.
- 45:44Speaker 3: So they're coming out and saying we want you. That's right,
- 45:47Speaker 3: and value that's most people's only asset.
- 45:50Speaker 6: Yeah, so this guy is obviously off the reservation. But
- 45:54Speaker 6: this is the guy who stole what should have been
- 45:56Speaker 6: an unwinnable seat for the Greens, and he he has gone,
- 46:01Speaker 6: has made housing his whole thing. Housing is the biggest
- 46:03Speaker 6: week spot for Labor. It is the biggest strength for Greens.
- 46:06Speaker 6: They know it, Labor knows it, and that they don't
- 46:09Speaker 6: stand to lose any voters as a result of this, because,
- 46:11Speaker 6: of course, all their voters are young renters, not homeowners.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Percent of Greens voters or their renters. Apparently we're going
- 46:18Speaker 3: to go to a.
- 46:18Speaker 2: Break when we come back.
- 46:20Speaker 3: An AI fashion show featuring world leaders shows just how
- 46:23Speaker 3: advanced AI really is.
- 46:25Speaker 2: You want to see it. It's coming up in a moment.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Welcome back.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Well, listen, Joe, I've got admit I'm not really into
- 46:35Speaker 3: fashion shows, which you can probably tell by the word
- 46:37Speaker 3: address most of the time. Sure, but what about you,
- 46:41Speaker 3: you a fashion officionado.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Have you ever been to a fashion show?
- 46:44Speaker 4: No, not what they call fashion nowadays.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I'm very old fashion, So I like the vintage stuff,
- 46:50Speaker 1: you know, the stuff that actually looks good on people
- 46:52Speaker 1: and that you could wear in everyday life walking down
- 46:55Speaker 1: the street without looking like an absolute freak. But someone
- 46:58Speaker 1: has found a marvelous use for AI and has put
- 47:02Speaker 1: together a world Leader's fashion show.
- 47:06Speaker 15: What do you think, yure.
- 47:40Speaker 5: Hillary actually looks better takes the cake?
- 47:42Speaker 4: Surely?
- 47:44Speaker 6: I found that quite quite sort of unsettled, felt very
- 47:49Speaker 6: gender fluid.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Elon must put that online now.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Admittedly he's got a lot of followers on ex but
- 47:54Speaker 3: it had had forty million viewers in less than twenty
- 47:58Speaker 3: four hours, and it's pretty Why would you ever have
- 48:01Speaker 3: a real fashion show ever again when you can get
- 48:03Speaker 3: AI like that?
- 48:04Speaker 6: But why would Elon Musk, who has all the AI,
- 48:07Speaker 6: make himself look like newman from Seinfeld?
- 48:10Speaker 1: Well he didn't put it together, he just shared it,
- 48:12Speaker 1: so clearly he was happy with his appearance where he
- 48:15Speaker 1: starts out in underpants. But I mean, when you're saying,
- 48:19Speaker 1: just before the show jo that the vast majority of
- 48:22Speaker 1: models won't be actual models?
- 48:24Speaker 5: Reads up.
- 48:25Speaker 6: I just read a post that must've mean. I haven't
- 48:26Speaker 6: read the whole story because I'm part of the problem.
- 48:28Speaker 6: But the Daily Telegraph said that a model agent said
- 48:31Speaker 6: by twenty twenty five, Maybe it was a type of
- 48:33Speaker 6: twenty thirty five, but it did say twenty twenty five,
- 48:36Speaker 6: ninety percent of modeling shoots.
- 48:38Speaker 5: Will be AI.
- 48:39Speaker 4: That makes sense.
- 48:40Speaker 5: You're watching one right now.
- 48:43Speaker 6: I'm just very muchemaker talking about the White House and
- 48:45Speaker 6: the leader of the free world. The real power is
- 48:48Speaker 6: in the Vancouver Park Board, which has decided once and
- 48:52Speaker 6: for all which attire is suitable for the local swimming pool. Finally,
- 48:58Speaker 6: apparently you are not allowed to wear lingerie in the
- 49:02Speaker 6: swimming pool amen anymore.
- 49:04Speaker 5: So that's it.
- 49:05Speaker 4: There goes going on degeneracy. There's a difference.
- 49:09Speaker 6: There isn't where the g banger down the deep end anymore.
- 49:12Speaker 6: Why go swimming in the first place.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Well, that's it from us. Enjoy the rest of your evening,
- 49:16Speaker 3: don't go anywhere. Coming up right now is the Rita
- 49:19Speaker 3: Penney show.
- 49:20Speaker 2: That's up now.
