- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. Yesterday we talked about
- 0:30establishing a spiritual practice and how important it
- 0:32was. And today we are going to talk
- 0:36about the daily habits that come into play with this exact thing.
- 0:42So, you know, some people love to have their morning rituals of
- 0:46sitting with the newspaper and the coffee.
- 0:48And if that's great for you and you're one of those people, have
- 0:51at it. But I don't believe that most of
- 0:53my people are those people because they know you're
- 0:56probably not taking in the energy of peace.
- 0:58You're probably taking in the energy of having chaos.
- 1:01And that's not fun. So for me, outside information
- 1:08like that doesn't work. I don't take that in in the
- 1:10morning. I get my information, but I
- 1:12don't take it in in the morning. I think the morning is very
- 1:15sacred and to me, if you're going to start a spiritual
- 1:18practice or develop one, it's starting in the morning.
- 1:22Understanding that that is sacred time.
- 1:24It's quiet. I'm out here right now and other
- 1:26than me, there is nobody around. Everybody is asleep.
- 1:30It's way early and you can hear Roosters learning to crow off in
- 1:35the distance. You can hear the birds,
- 1:38chickens, everything, but other than Mother Nature, it's quiet.
- 1:42And this is part of a spiritual practice for me because it's
- 1:44important to bring me into a headspace that it's not all
- 1:49about me. So every day I have to remind
- 1:52myself first, the world is not all about me and caring for the
- 1:56animals and the flowers and the plants and everything that
- 1:59reminds me of the nature of the symbiotic nature of humans and
- 2:05nature. And how when you do it and you
- 2:08and you pay attention the right way, that you end up in such a
- 2:11beautiful place because you're not just making it all about
- 2:14you. That's part of my ritualistic
- 2:17morning. In addition to that, my mornings
- 2:20consist of always reading. Always reading every morning,
- 2:24making sure that there's something good going into my
- 2:27head from a book that's chosen from an article that's chosen in
- 2:31magazines that I may have chosen.
- 2:33But I'm telling you, most of the time it's from a book because I
- 2:37can really pick and choose what goes into my head in that book.
- 2:41And another piece of this puzzle, I would say that's super
- 2:45important about choosing the reading is recognizing that you
- 2:49don't have to read a whole lot in order to get a big impact.
- 2:53So if you just decide, OK, every morning I'm going to read for 10
- 2:56minutes, some people will say, well, that's not enough.
- 2:58I can't take it in 10 minutes. You can take in shifts in 10
- 3:01minutes, trust me. So just give yourself the
- 3:04opportunity to try it and say 10 minutes is all I need. 10
- 3:09minutes is all I need to get that done.
- 3:11I just need to read for 10 minutes and then you're and then
- 3:13you're good. So besides that and going into
- 3:18it, for me, I know this is crazy, but making tea in the
- 3:23morning is a ritual that I enjoy so much because I the whole time
- 3:27I'm doing it, I think about how much I appreciate this tea and I
- 3:30cannot wait to drink it. Now part of that comes from the
- 3:33fact that when I gave up coffee, I really put my intention on
- 3:38finding great tea and looking for tea that would make me feel
- 3:42as good as coffee did. And I did, I did.
- 3:45I found that and I found it because of somebody that worked
- 3:49with for a very long time and thought the, I still think the
- 3:53world of her. And she kept saying to me, well,
- 3:56you have to put two tea bags in there.
- 3:58You have to actually have a mint tea bag in there.
- 4:00And then it becomes unbelievable.
- 4:02And then you put a little tiny bit of oat milk into it or
- 4:05almond milk into it and it just makes it so ugly.
- 4:08And she was not wrong. It does.
- 4:10So it's like an English breakfast tea, tea bag and a
- 4:14Moroccan mint tea bag, a little bit of honey and some almond
- 4:19milk or oat milk. And it makes it unbelievably
- 4:22wonderful. But that ritual of doing that is
- 4:25part of my practice in the morning to center myself and be
- 4:29in a spiritual state before I go off.
- 4:31And I'm sharing that one with you because I want you to
- 4:34realize there's none of this, there's no judgment in it.
- 4:37If you say, hey, I want to get up in the morning and I just
- 4:41want to sit there and color for 30 minutes, OK.
- 4:45And that's your, that's your spiritual practice.
- 4:48Great. Do it because that's what your
- 4:51version of this is. And just like taking pictures or
- 4:55you know, painting or writing there are or doing a podcast,
- 4:59there's no right version. There's just the version that
- 5:01works for you. So don't judge yourself.
- 5:04Just jump in and do it. Don't overthink it.
- 5:07Just do it. Create something and say this is
- 5:09my morning spiritual practice. And because of that, I'm going
- 5:13to feel empowered all day. It's the tuning into the small
- 5:17things that makes the big difference.
- 5:19So go create something and I will see you tomorrow my
- 5:22friends. Have a blessed day, bye.
