- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Real Talk with Mike D. Alright, welcome back
- 0:06Speaker 1: to Real Talk with Mike D. Where we say what
- 0:09Speaker 1: we mean, we mean what we say. And we always, always,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I mean always, try to say the correct thing.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Now listen up, bitches. School is in session. And I've
- 0:25Speaker 1: got a course to talk about. And this course is
- 0:28Speaker 1: why you should never Try to impress someone who cannot
- 0:34Speaker 1: accept you for who you are. And I'm guilty of
- 0:39Speaker 1: this 100%. 100%. And I'm going to explain it to
- 0:46Speaker 1: you right now. I'm going to take you back about
- 0:50Speaker 1: two years. I'm at the beach with my family, my daughter,
- 0:53Speaker 1: my sister, her husband. And we're on the miniature golf course.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We're playing 18 holes. And I asked my sister and
- 1:07Speaker 1: my daughter, I'm like, hey, I'm thinking about asking this
- 1:11Speaker 1: girl out. What do you think? Just go for it.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Do it. The worst you can say is no. But
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm scared. I'm terrified. I'm like, I can't do this.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm scared of rejection. Mr. Tubby is scared of rejection. There,
- 1:28Speaker 1: I said it. Mr. Tubby. And you're going to find
- 1:32Speaker 1: out why I called myself Mr. Tubby. So, I take
- 1:38Speaker 1: my sister and my daughter's advice. I ask her out.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And what do you think she said? She said, yes,
- 1:47Speaker 1: holy shit, I almost fell over. I couldn't believe it.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I'm strutting around like a pig in shit. Like my
- 1:54Speaker 1: shit doesn't stink. I can't wait to get home. Plan
- 1:59Speaker 1: this date. You know, so we have a couple more
- 2:02Speaker 1: days at the beach and I'm just happy. I'm in
- 2:05Speaker 1: a good mood. Fast forward, we get home. I text
- 2:10Speaker 1: her and I set up plans to meet her at
- 2:12Speaker 1: her friend's house to take her out. I make arrangements
- 2:15Speaker 1: at a beautiful restaurant. I wash and wax my car.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I wash and wax myself. I'm dressed good, smelling good.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I'm ready to go. Hop in my car, go to
- 2:26Speaker 1: pick her up at her friend's house. I let her
- 2:28Speaker 1: know that I'm there. She walks out, comes to my
- 2:32Speaker 1: passenger side door, opens it up, and her face is
- 2:34Speaker 1: pure disgust. And when I mean pure disgust, it's like
- 2:40Speaker 1: she just saw a monster. And I'm like, well, this
- 2:44Speaker 1: date is over before it even began. But she didn't
- 2:49Speaker 1: say anything. It was just her facial expressions. That says enough.
- 2:54Speaker 1: So she gets in. We go to the restaurant. We
- 2:57Speaker 1: have a good meal. We have good conversation. It was
- 3:00Speaker 1: a good time, you know. Then after it was over,
- 3:04Speaker 1: we decided to get in a car and listen to
- 3:06Speaker 1: some Christian music and drive around and just try to
- 3:09Speaker 1: get to know each other before I took her back
- 3:11Speaker 1: to her house. And it was a good time. You know,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I got to know a lot of things about her.
- 3:15Speaker 1: She got to know a lot of things about me.
- 3:17Speaker 1: But there was just no connection there. You know, I
- 3:19Speaker 1: knew there was not going to be a second date.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But I was hopeful. I was hopeful that there would be.
- 3:24Speaker 1: But deep inside, I'm like, ah, this is over. It's
- 3:27Speaker 1: not going to happen. So I drop her off at
- 3:30Speaker 1: her house. And then life goes on. I decide that
- 3:35Speaker 1: I'm going to go on a diet. I'm going to
- 3:37Speaker 1: prove her and everybody wrong. I'm going to eat right.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I'm going to exercise. And I'm going to lose all
- 3:44Speaker 1: this weight. And I do exactly just that. So over
- 3:47Speaker 1: the next few months, 6, 8, 12 months, I drop
- 3:51Speaker 1: 60 pounds. I'm looking good. I'm feeling good. Pants, fitting bigger. Shirt,
- 3:57Speaker 1: fitting better. Bigger. I'm posting pictures on Facebook to try
- 4:03Speaker 1: to impress people like, hey, look at me, look at me,
- 4:05Speaker 1: look how good I look, blah, blah, blah, blah. And
- 4:08Speaker 1: she would respond with a thumbs up or a heart
- 4:11Speaker 1: saying you look good, blah, blah, blah, blah, which is nice.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Who doesn't want to hear that when they lost all
- 4:16Speaker 1: that weight? But still, no second date. Now I'm not Mr.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Tubby anymore. I'm Mr. Semi-Tubby, I guess you could say.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I'm still fat, just not as fat. So anyhow, depression,
- 4:35Speaker 1: anxiety kicks in. Rejection kicks in. And I start eating
- 4:42Speaker 1: all the things that I was eating before to gain
- 4:45Speaker 1: all the weight. Now I'm eating them again. And I'm
- 4:49Speaker 1: gaining the weight back. I didn't gain all the weight back,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but I gained at least 15 pounds back. Enough to
- 4:54Speaker 1: know that my pants and shirt are feeling snug. More
- 4:59Speaker 1: snug than they used to. And I'm disgusted. I can't
- 5:01Speaker 1: believe I'm letting myself do this. Over rejection. Over trying
- 5:07Speaker 1: to be somebody that I wasn't. I wasn't thin. I
- 5:13Speaker 1: was Mr. Tubby. But I thought if I could lose
- 5:15Speaker 1: the weight, I would impress her and maybe get a
- 5:18Speaker 1: second date. That did not happen. So, fast forward to today.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I'm disgusted with myself. I'm like, I let myself gain
- 5:33Speaker 1: this weight back. And I feel like complete shit. It's
- 5:39Speaker 1: about time you take your life back. Not for anybody else,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but for yourself. For your health. For your peace of mind.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And so you can look and feel like you want
- 5:51Speaker 1: to look and feel. So that's what I'm doing. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: threw away all the bad food. I'm back to the
- 6:02Speaker 1: food that I was on or eating when I lost
- 6:04Speaker 1: all that weight. And my goal is to get to
- 6:08Speaker 1: my goal weight. Not for anybody else, but for myself.
- 6:15Speaker 1: And in the event that she sees me and she
- 6:20Speaker 1: says I look good and wants to go on that
- 6:22Speaker 1: second date, I think I'd have to pass. Because I
- 6:28Speaker 1: can't be with someone who did not accept me for me.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Even though I'm still me, I'm just a lot thinner me.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But the moral of the story is here, if you
- 6:45Speaker 1: have a partner, if you have a girlfriend, if you
- 6:46Speaker 1: have a boyfriend, whoever your significant other is, or if
- 6:50Speaker 1: you're trying to impress someone to get a date, if
- 6:52Speaker 1: they can't accept you for who you are, that they're
- 6:56Speaker 1: not worth having in your life. Because in my opinion,
- 7:01Speaker 1: in my humble opinion, if someone can't accept you for
- 7:05Speaker 1: who you are, they will never accept you for who
- 7:10Speaker 1: you are. And I just can't deal with that. I
- 7:15Speaker 1: cannot deal with that. But on that note, I'm going
- 7:21Speaker 1: to leave you. And I appreciate you being here. I
- 7:24Speaker 1: appreciate you listening. I appreciate you being sexy. I appreciate
- 7:31Speaker 1: you not making fun of me or Mr. Tubby. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: if you see me, do not call me Mr. Tubby.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I can call myself Mr. Tubby. No one else can. Capisce?
- 7:45Speaker 1: All right. You all have a wonderful evening, and I'll
- 7:48Speaker 1: see you all the next episode. Thank you.
