- 0:00Speaker 1: And the Kracking power Play.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Lord.
- 0:02Speaker 3: This is the Kraking Postgame Show, brought to you by
- 0:06Speaker 3: Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at
- 0:09Speaker 3: your Kraken Hockey. It's the post Game on the Global
- 0:13Speaker 3: Credit Union Kraken Audio Network.
- 0:17Speaker 1: For the final time tonight, Welcome back inside of Climate
- 0:20Speaker 1: Plaid Arena alongside Alconiski. I am Everard fits you. It
- 0:23Speaker 1: was a four to nothing a win for the Edmonton
- 0:27Speaker 1: Oilers over Seattle. Multiple point nights, one goal and two
- 0:31Speaker 1: assists each for Zach Hymen, Leon Dreisidle, Ryan Nusan Hopkins
- 0:37Speaker 1: and Connor McDavid and for the Cracking Partner. The special
- 0:41Speaker 1: Teams will tell the story of this one. Edmonton two
- 0:44Speaker 1: for two on the power play, cracking zero for six.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mentioned that in the pregame with the Keys
- 0:49Speaker 2: here this afternoon, and uh, the Kracking have played a
- 0:52Speaker 2: couple of teams with top power plays in the league
- 0:55Speaker 2: and not done too badly four for five eighty percent
- 0:58Speaker 2: on their penalty kill for those two games. But today
- 1:01Speaker 2: was very different. Edmonton getting two of their four goals
- 1:05Speaker 2: on the power play. Going to perfect two for two
- 1:07Speaker 2: is a big issue on that side, and then the
- 1:09Speaker 2: other side where the six power play opportunities Seattle got
- 1:13Speaker 2: and they were unable to capitalize on any of them.
- 1:15Speaker 1: What are you seeing from an analyst perspective on the
- 1:18Speaker 1: power play? I mean, again, is it as simple as hey,
- 1:21Speaker 1: they're not shooting the puck enough or is there something
- 1:24Speaker 1: more that you're noticing about the ineffectiveness of this cracking
- 1:28Speaker 1: power play?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Well, I mean it's a couple of things. It's it's personnel. Obviously,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you've had Jared be caann't come back back in, you
- 1:34Speaker 2: have Jaden Schwartz out. Jaden Schwartz is a big part
- 1:36Speaker 2: of the power play. But it's not just today, it's
- 1:38Speaker 2: over the last half dozen games that you have to
- 1:40Speaker 2: we have to look at this. I think the other
- 1:41Speaker 2: thing is getting double layers of screens in front, double
- 1:44Speaker 2: layers of deflections. You know, sometimes you just get so
- 1:48Speaker 2: focused on it's going to be a pretty one time
- 1:50Speaker 2: or backdoor goal to be a power play goal. And
- 1:53Speaker 2: I think it was the fifth power play of the
- 1:55Speaker 2: game that the cracking came down on a rush. Shane
- 1:58Speaker 2: Wright went harder than that. His stick was there presented,
- 2:00Speaker 2: but there wasn't a pass because your mind is well,
- 2:03Speaker 2: we have to get set up, we have to make
- 2:04Speaker 2: two or three passes, we have to get a back
- 2:06Speaker 2: door pass. There's nothing wrong with scoring off the rush
- 2:09Speaker 2: on a power play, and I think that's part of
- 2:10Speaker 2: it as well, recognizing when the opportunities are there and
- 2:13Speaker 2: taking them. But the first few power plays there were
- 2:16Speaker 2: six seven shot attempts at each one, a couple of
- 2:18Speaker 2: shots on goal. You also can face hot goaltenders as well,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and that factors in. Stuart Skinnerd's obviously been struggling lately.
- 2:24Speaker 2: He was looking for a get right game. This might
- 2:26Speaker 2: have been it today.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Two fights in the third period, a couple of ten
- 2:29Speaker 1: minute misconducts, all stemming from that first period Mason Marchman
- 2:33Speaker 1: hit on Darnell Nurse. Those two were going at it
- 2:36Speaker 1: all night long, and I mean it sets up, I think,
- 2:38Speaker 1: a very interesting return on Thursday in Edmonton. But the
- 2:44Speaker 1: emotions and the physicality spilling over in this.
- 2:46Speaker 2: One, yeah, I think so. You know, there's definitely some
- 2:48Speaker 2: frustration on Seattle's part is the game waned on and
- 2:51Speaker 2: got away from them. But that Mason Marchman Darnell Nurse
- 2:54Speaker 2: stuff started in the first period, and you know, I'm
- 2:57Speaker 2: okay with Mason Marchman being an irritant out there for
- 2:59Speaker 2: any team, not just the Edmonton Oilers, especially when you're
- 3:02Speaker 2: drawing penalties against a guy like Darnell Nurse excuse me,
- 3:05Speaker 2: Leon Dreisidle taking him off the ice for two minutes.
- 3:08Speaker 2: So if you're gonna play that way and you're gonna
- 3:10Speaker 2: take guys off the ice like that, I'm okay with that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: But once it's four nothing, I think it's it's the
- 3:15Speaker 2: late in the third period. I don't think it's necessary
- 3:17Speaker 2: anymore for nothing.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Kracking swept here on this holiday home stand. He lost
- 3:22Speaker 1: to Dallas on Wednesday, Edmonton here tonight, looking for some
- 3:25Speaker 1: revenge coming up on Thursday against the Oilers in Edmonton.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Al back over to you for your key takeaways.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah, key takeaways for me tonight. I already mentioned them.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Power playing, penalty kill both you know, not very good.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Let's just be honest. Zero for six in the power
- 3:39Speaker 2: play and oh for two on their penalty kills. Two
- 3:42Speaker 2: power play goals for Redbinton tonight. I thought Berkeley Catton
- 3:44Speaker 2: had another good game. A couple of shots on goal
- 3:46Speaker 2: for him. He had the breakaway in the second period.
- 3:48Speaker 2: He stripped Connor McDavid from the puck ones. They got
- 3:51Speaker 2: tied up in the middle of the ice. Both of
- 3:53Speaker 2: them went down one time. So when you're playing against
- 3:55Speaker 2: the best and you're competing, I think that's good as
- 3:57Speaker 2: far as your NHL development goes. Fourth was the face
- 4:01Speaker 2: off fifty six percent in the dots, So it wasn't
- 4:03Speaker 2: a situation where you weren't winning the majority of the
- 4:06Speaker 2: draws you were. It was even higher than that at
- 4:08Speaker 2: certain points. Tonight three stars brought to you by Mama Kay.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Third Star tonight goes to Leon Drei Sittle. He had
- 4:14Speaker 2: a goal and assists. The second Star also to Edmonton
- 4:17Speaker 2: Ryan Nugent Hopkins one goal and one assist. And the
- 4:20Speaker 2: number one star the man with the shutout, Stewart Skinner
- 4:23Speaker 2: stopping twenty four of twenty four.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Boo, all right, I'll put my fan hat all away.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That'll do it here fornight crack and falling forward. Nothing
- 4:33Speaker 1: to the Edmonton Oilers. Mike Benton back on the course,
- 4:36Speaker 1: light landing standing by to take you the rest of
- 4:39Speaker 1: the way. These two teams back at it on Thursday.
- 4:42Speaker 1: From the City of Champions, Edmonton, Alberta enjoy the remainder
- 4:47Speaker 1: of your Thanksgiving holiday weekend. And remember those leftovers are
- 4:51Speaker 1: good for about four five days mass freezom.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Though if you don't have, here's a freezom.
- 4:57Speaker 1: But like, don't don't be eating refrigerated mac and cheese
- 4:59Speaker 1: on a little too far, Mike Betton, take us hof.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Hey, mac and cheese. It's good any day of the week, guys.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I'm just gonna know there to be different here in
- 5:07Speaker 4: this case. Well, tough day offensively here for the cracking
- 5:10Speaker 4: as they found offense sorry to come by, especially on
- 5:13Speaker 4: the power play where special teams to today made a big,
- 5:16Speaker 4: big difference and Stuart Skinner coming up with a twenty
- 5:19Speaker 4: six save on twenty six shots effort and the cracking
- 5:23Speaker 4: for the first time trying to bounce back from back
- 5:26Speaker 4: to back losses at home in regulation, and they had
- 5:29Speaker 4: a few days here to figure this out as far
- 5:31Speaker 4: as generating offense, because next time out won't be until
- 5:35Speaker 4: next Thursday when they take on Edmonton again. This time
- 5:38Speaker 4: it will be in a road matchup once again. Your
- 5:42Speaker 4: final score again Edmonton for cracking nothing and a lot

- 8:52Speaker 4: mice as they have been held now off the scoreboard
- 8:54Speaker 4: for the second time this season and also for the
- 8:57Speaker 4: second time in three games. Final score here from Climate
- 9:00Speaker 4: Pledgerina Edmonton four and the Crack and nothing but the
- 9:04Speaker 4: Crack and record falling to eleven seven and six. They
- 9:08Speaker 4: stay at twenty eight points and Edmonton getting back above
- 9:12Speaker 4: five hundred at eleven ten and five. They have twenty
- 9:15Speaker 4: seven points on the season as well, and the Kraken scene.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Their run of back to back wins against Edmonton snapped
- 9:23Speaker 4: here in this game, with the season series all now

- 9:43Speaker 4: You had to figure the way the crack and start
- 9:45Speaker 4: out in games when they take a bit to dial
- 9:47Speaker 4: their game up. They had to rely a course on
- 9:50Speaker 4: terrific playback in the rowin zone, especially from this man
- 9:53Speaker 4: between the fibes and how what he factor early on?
- 9:56Speaker 1: Here's pot goals from the back torfic save why Joey's
- 10:00Speaker 1: a card r on dry side on the right side.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Oh that was one of ten saves that to coord
- 10:09Speaker 4: turned in for period one as Edmonton carried a ton
- 10:13Speaker 4: of play as far as momentum back in the krack
- 10:15Speaker 4: and zone in the early minutes of period one, yet
- 10:18Speaker 4: the cracking bending but not breaking. They had a couple
- 10:21Speaker 4: of chances down the other way, but then a tough
- 10:24Speaker 4: tournam events Mason Marsman call for interference on the goaltender
- 10:27Speaker 4: as he got hit into the shoulder by Curtis Lazarre
- 10:30Speaker 4: and then his momentum carrying him into goaltender Stewart's skinner.
- 10:35Speaker 4: After that, the Oilers going to the power play.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Evan bouch Shard, Dugit Hopkins, Vic David backs up b Shard,
- 10:43Speaker 1: Lusian Hopkins shoots Tip Store. It's a tip Tech power
- 10:48Speaker 1: play goal for the Edmondson Oilers. Ryan Nugent Hopkins in
- 10:53Speaker 1: the left circle in past the cord Edmondson on top.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Why I want nothing leading so tough to stomach there
- 11:00Speaker 4: for the Krack in side. Is Edmonton getting a goal
- 11:02Speaker 4: from Ryan Nudget Hopkins in this first game back from injury.
- 11:05Speaker 4: It is his six on the season coming in the
- 11:07Speaker 4: power play at eleven twenty nine. Evan Bouchard, Connor McDavid
- 11:11Speaker 4: as well with the assist, with the Oilers carrying a
- 11:14Speaker 4: one to nothing lead into the intermission, but the Kraken
- 11:18Speaker 4: they weren't without their moments as well to strike. They
- 11:21Speaker 4: by the way, had a five on three slip through
- 11:23Speaker 4: their grasp in the opening frame and had four power
- 11:26Speaker 4: play chances in the opening twenty one minutes of play,
- 11:30Speaker 4: but then coming up empty after that, Edmonton turning play
- 11:34Speaker 4: back the other way in the middle portion of period.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Two that anybody here has had it now lost it
- 11:39Speaker 1: three or two. Edmonston back in ricidle.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Down the slot shot scores.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Shoot out of Edmonton seven thirty to play the second.
- 11:51Speaker 4: That's an Edmonton superstar doing Edmonton superstar things as Leon
- 11:56Speaker 4: Drying Sidles scoring off the rush his fifteen goal the
- 11:59Speaker 4: season and also came off a turnover and transition play
- 12:02Speaker 4: just on brand. Oilers play the cracker we hoping to
- 12:05Speaker 4: avoid and that opening things up a little bit more
- 12:08Speaker 4: for Edmonton. Twelve thirty the time of the goal in
- 12:10Speaker 4: period two, dry settle from Andrew Manngapani and Ty Emberson
- 12:15Speaker 4: made it to nothing Edmonton. That lead pushed to three
- 12:19Speaker 4: nothing Laton period two, Zach Hyman getting his first goal
- 12:22Speaker 4: of the season for a power play goal. Dry settled
- 12:25Speaker 4: the nugent Hopkins as well with the assists on the play,
- 12:28Speaker 4: and the Cracket had some work to do, but Edmonton
- 12:32Speaker 4: pushing their lead even further and six twenty five of
- 12:35Speaker 4: period three Connor McDavid getting his eleventh goal of the season,
- 12:39Speaker 4: beating Joey to Cord short side at the left circle,
- 12:42Speaker 4: Hyman and Mattias Eckholm with the assist, and besides that,
- 12:47Speaker 4: a little more pushing, a little more shoves in a
- 12:49Speaker 4: couple of instances of fisticuffs as well, dotting period three
- 12:54Speaker 4: an emotional end to what was a pretty frustrating day
- 12:57Speaker 4: on the Cracking side. As a fall for nothing, he
- 13:00Speaker 4: to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, your final shots on
- 13:04Speaker 4: goal tally twenty six to twenty five in favor of
- 13:07Speaker 4: the Kracking, but again special teams playing a big role
- 13:11Speaker 4: in this one, the Crack and power play coming up
- 13:13Speaker 4: empty on six opportunities, including a five on three to
- 13:17Speaker 4: two man advantage, Edmonton going two for two on the
- 13:21Speaker 4: power play here in this game as they get out
- 13:24Speaker 4: of a recent skit, the Cracking finishing their record in
- 13:28Speaker 4: November at six four and three, with this regular season
- 13:31Speaker 4: series tied at one apiece. Stuart Skinner also picking up
- 13:35Speaker 4: his second shutout of the season, ninth of his NMHL
- 13:38Speaker 4: career on twenty six saves. The win moves this record
- 13:41Speaker 4: now to nine seven and three. The loss of net
- 13:44Speaker 4: to Joey Decord, who turned in twenty one saves on
- 13:48Speaker 4: twenty five shots. His record is now seven to five
- 13:51Speaker 4: and four on the campaign. Time Now for the course

- 14:12Speaker 4: bright spot here for the Kraken is a play out
- 14:15Speaker 4: of their nineteen year old promising Ford, who had a
- 14:18Speaker 4: great chance to break through for his first career NHL
- 14:21Speaker 4: goalback in period two.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Jordan Eberley able to send this one out through the
- 14:25Speaker 1: Neutrals on Berkeley Catton racing for Catton right on. What
- 14:28Speaker 1: a big save by Stewart Skinner. My goodness, Catton had
- 14:34Speaker 1: him dead their rights and Skinner.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Able to knock it away sixteen minutes and forty four
- 14:40Speaker 4: seconds of ice time two shansonnet as well for Berkeley
- 14:43Speaker 4: Canton and both seansonet were very very good looks. You
- 14:46Speaker 4: also go back and think the chance he had earlier
- 14:49Speaker 4: in period two is slicing his way through the Edmonton
- 14:52Speaker 4: defense off the rush, very very good plays that he
- 14:56Speaker 4: made with poise, made with assertiveness that show perhaps his
- 14:59Speaker 4: first NHL goal isn't too far away as well. Then,
- 15:03Speaker 4: with a Kraken down by four and period three, emotions
- 15:07Speaker 4: began to boil.
- 15:08Speaker 1: On the right side, Regula tied up with ty Kartsha.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Now those two will shove each other hour another one.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Ty Kartshane out Regula in the right circle. Krtshay had
- 15:19Speaker 1: a couple of rights, Regula flailing wildly, ty Krtsjay connecting
- 15:23Speaker 1: up bag left that we're tough from Krtshay.
- 15:25Speaker 12: What a bunch.
- 15:26Speaker 1: As Regula recovers Cartshay comes.
- 15:29Speaker 13: Across the top and then takes him down.
- 15:32Speaker 4: A couple fights dotting period three. That scrap between ty
- 15:36Speaker 4: Kartsha and Alec Regula at the fifteen to thirteen mark,
- 15:40Speaker 4: finishing matters off and what do you know? These two
- 15:43Speaker 4: teams will face off again coming up in Edmonton this
- 15:46Speaker 4: next week. It's gonna carry over. That's a big, big
- 15:49Speaker 4: question here from this one. But the Kraken finishing this Saturday,
- 15:52Speaker 4: coming up empty offensively in what was an emotionally filled
- 15:55Speaker 4: third period and taking a tough one as well for
- 15:58Speaker 4: nothing the loss. That's the final score here at Climb
- 16:01Speaker 4: the Plage Arena that brings us to the big win
- 16:03Speaker 4: brought to you by the Evergreen Council. On Problem Gambling.

- 16:24Speaker 13: it's second, it's the third point.
- 16:27Speaker 6: The touchdown is good, so it's the extra point.
- 16:32Speaker 13: It's the seventh b of the game for the Nord
- 16:36Speaker 13: Each they're up by five.
- 16:38Speaker 4: After all that time off, it seems like Gabriel Landskaga
- 16:42Speaker 4: is back to form. That call courtesy Connor McGahee on
- 16:45Speaker 4: KKSC Altitude Sports Radio as Landiskaga add two goals and
- 16:50Speaker 4: an assist Brock Nelson four point day and the Avalanche

- 16:57Speaker 4: that right, sixteen consecutive games. They're a wagon. They won
- 17:02Speaker 4: seven to over the Montreal Canadians and are now eighteen
- 17:07Speaker 4: one and six on the season. Welcome back after this

- 20:18Speaker 3: This is Jerreed mccannon. You're listening Seattle Crack and Hockey
- 20:21Speaker 3: on the Crack and Audio Network.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Mike Benton with you back at Climbing Pledge Arena Final
- 20:25Speaker 4: score again Edmonton for cracking Nothing. Let's past ten seconds
- 20:29Speaker 4: firstation ID on the Global Credit Union crack An Audio Network.
- 20:34Speaker 3: You're listening to krakein Hockey on Sports Radio nine fifty
- 20:38Speaker 3: kJ R A M and kJ E B KHD two
- 20:42Speaker 3: c O.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Well, a pretty frustrating day has come to an end
- 20:46Speaker 4: when you consider the offense here as a crack and
- 20:48Speaker 4: again fall four nothing. Mike Benton Alkiniski with you back
- 20:51Speaker 4: of the cors Light landing in section twenty again four
- 20:53Speaker 4: nine four five to one Texas right now on the
- 20:56Speaker 4: KJR text line four nine four five one and tell
- 20:59Speaker 4: us what you think the Kraken need to generate offense.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Next time out they face this same team again in
- 21:06Speaker 4: Edmonton coming up this next Thursday. This time that game
- 21:10Speaker 4: going down at Rogers place. Al Kaniski with us here
- 21:13Speaker 4: in this game, and it seemed as if five on
- 21:16Speaker 4: five al the Kraken bending but not breaking back in
- 21:19Speaker 4: period one. But again special teams making the big difference
- 21:23Speaker 4: here once more in the power play ad chances go
- 21:25Speaker 4: large just like Wednesday night, what stood down to you
- 21:29Speaker 4: here as far as the man advantage?
- 21:30Speaker 2: Hard look at this game. Look at this game, Mike,
- 21:38Speaker 2: and and look not look at the special teams going
- 21:40Speaker 2: oh for six on the power play, going oh for
- 21:43Speaker 2: two on the on the penalty kill. That's both you know,
- 21:46Speaker 2: both levers if you will, you want to score your
- 21:48Speaker 2: power play, you want to go perfect on your penalty kill.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Both were perfect the opposite way. So that had a
- 21:53Speaker 2: big outcome in today's game. Why is the bigger question?
- 21:57Speaker 2: Obviously you lose Jaden Schwartz. He's a big piece of
- 22:00Speaker 2: both the power play and the penalty kill. But You've
- 22:02Speaker 2: got Jared mccamback, you've got Coppo back, so you'd think
- 22:05Speaker 2: maybe there'd be I don't know, a neutrality there. There
- 22:08Speaker 2: definitely wasn't, and you were missing seventeen on the ice.
- 22:11Speaker 4: When you examined the five on three power play they had,
- 22:14Speaker 4: they went, they came up over four. It at about
- 22:17Speaker 4: roughly one minute and forty seconds of time to operate
- 22:20Speaker 4: the five shots on net as well. But the question
- 22:22Speaker 4: bears was there maybe enough as far as quality?
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and you know, looking at those those
- 22:28Speaker 2: first period power play opportunities, I was keeping track of
- 22:31Speaker 2: both shots on goal as well as shot attempts, and
- 22:34Speaker 2: during the five on three there were seven shot attempts.
- 22:36Speaker 2: So during the first five five on four there were
- 22:38Speaker 2: six shot attempts. Both power plays had two and three
- 22:41Speaker 2: shots on goals, so pucks were getting through, attempts were made,
- 22:45Speaker 2: but obviously you weren't beating Stuart Skinner. Why who knows
- 22:49Speaker 2: Stuart Skinner could have had a good game here tonight.
- 22:51Speaker 2: He was looking for one of those I mentioned, Jayden Schwartz.
- 22:55Speaker 2: I think also when I was mentioning this to Everet
- 22:57Speaker 2: up in the booth is sometimes on the power play,
- 23:00Speaker 2: you get so focused on getting out of your own zone,
- 23:03Speaker 2: getting set up in the offensive zone that sometimes when
- 23:06Speaker 2: you cross the offensive blue line on a rush, there's
- 23:08Speaker 2: a play there, but you're so used to thinking, well,
- 23:11Speaker 2: we're not gonna score on the rush, we're gonna score
- 23:13Speaker 2: on setting up.
- 23:14Speaker 4: For a goal.
- 23:15Speaker 2: And I saw Shane Wright go harder than that there
- 23:17Speaker 2: in the third pier with his stick on the ice,
- 23:19Speaker 2: a quick shot passed to him. Maybe there's something there,
- 23:22Speaker 2: but instead we pulled up and we got set up.
- 23:24Speaker 2: So I think sometimes recognizing that when there's a scoring opportunity,
- 23:27Speaker 2: regardless of how it comes, even on the power play,
- 23:30Speaker 2: take it. It might not mean setting up, it might
- 23:32Speaker 2: mean off the rush. Who cares take it?
- 23:35Speaker 4: Reaction opening up right now from downstairs, let's check in
- 23:37Speaker 4: down there with cracking defenseman Brandon Montor meeting with the media.
- 23:41Speaker 1: There are a lot of power play chances today.
- 23:44Speaker 21: Obviously, what did you make of the ability to move the.
- 23:48Speaker 22: Play generate opportunities?
- 23:51Speaker 10: Probably not much. I mean, I don't know. There's got
- 23:54Speaker 10: a couple of looks, uh five three, theres a couple
- 23:56Speaker 10: of bucks, but you gotta get one of those, you know,
- 23:59Speaker 10: theybviously their power play and they had too, we had zero.
- 24:02Speaker 10: So there's the game brand.
- 24:05Speaker 23: And I appreciate you being willing to stand in front
- 24:08Speaker 23: of microphones and answer questions because this was a game
- 24:12Speaker 23: where there wasn't a whole lot to point to to
- 24:14Speaker 23: like sometimes you go, we lost, but there was stuff
- 24:17Speaker 23: to like. So is this a game you just want
- 24:20Speaker 23: up throw in the trash can and move on to
- 24:22Speaker 23: the next one?
- 24:23Speaker 10: Yeah, you said it, not much like in that game
- 24:27Speaker 10: through obviously a team that's behind us, team that's you know, close,
- 24:30Speaker 10: but same division, and uh, you know we let one
- 24:34Speaker 10: get away. They're they're a good team over there. They've
- 24:38Speaker 10: you know, obviously been through a lot the last couple
- 24:40Speaker 10: of years, have experience, and you just got to be
- 24:42Speaker 10: out for those games. And obviously we were not. So
- 24:45Speaker 10: learn from that, forget about it. Obviously, take what you can.
- 24:48Speaker 10: But we got again, you know, got them in a
- 24:51Speaker 10: couple of days.
- 24:52Speaker 4: That's Brandon Montor meet with the media. And I think
- 24:54Speaker 4: a good point in that where you want to take
- 24:56Speaker 4: this game and proverbially just throw it right in the
- 24:58Speaker 4: trash can move on from it. And the reason here
- 25:01Speaker 4: is this the crack and don't play again until next
- 25:04Speaker 4: Thursday in Edmonton, and that's a long time to get
- 25:06Speaker 4: a loss like this.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Linger, Yeah, you learn from it and you move on.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And you know, looking at the history so far this season,
- 25:13Speaker 2: the last time the Kraken went zero for six was
- 25:15Speaker 2: that six to one loss here in Climate Pledge Arena
- 25:18Speaker 2: to San Jose. That one, too got crumpled up and
- 25:21Speaker 2: thrown in the proverbial trash. And you know the last
- 25:23Speaker 2: time they went back to back with losses was Philadelphia
- 25:26Speaker 2: and Washington a few weeks ago. Again, you want to
- 25:30Speaker 2: nip losing in the button. When you turn a one
- 25:33Speaker 2: or two game losing streak into a four, five, six
- 25:36Speaker 2: game losing streak, that's when you're looking at teams that
- 25:38Speaker 2: probably aren't going to make the playoffs. And the Cracking
- 25:40Speaker 2: have been able to cut it off at one or
- 25:42Speaker 2: two losses this season. This is now the second time
- 25:45Speaker 2: with two losses in a row they cut this off Thursday.
- 25:47Speaker 4: They're fine, pretty tight, and still pretty clustered right now
- 25:50Speaker 4: on the Western Conference and what's going on elsewhere, Well
- 25:53Speaker 4: check them with the out of town scoreboard coming up
- 25:55Speaker 4: after this again, your final score from climbing the Pledge
- 25:57Speaker 4: Arena Edmonton for Crack and saying you're listening to the

- 36:41Speaker 4: of reaction here to get to as the kracking coming
- 36:43Speaker 4: up empty for the second time now in three days.
- 36:47Speaker 4: How do you break this one down? How do you
- 36:49Speaker 4: slice it? What's your biggest concern? How do the Kraken
- 36:51Speaker 4: fix this offensively, you tell us four nine four five
- 36:55Speaker 4: one on the kJ R text line again four nine
- 36:58Speaker 4: four five one. We're already getting a lot of sponsors
- 37:00Speaker 4: flooding in right now, and we'll get to those here
- 37:03Speaker 4: and just to bits as again, I'm on Twitter and

- 37:09Speaker 4: plenty of reaction to get to a Stewart Skinner picks
- 37:12Speaker 4: up his second shutout of the season, and for all
- 37:15Speaker 4: the talk of the Oilers struggling in net, he found
- 37:18Speaker 4: a way to figure it out here for today twenty
- 37:21Speaker 4: six saves on twenty six SHOT's good time to bring
- 37:24Speaker 4: in al Kaniski right now, and I go right back
- 37:26Speaker 4: here to this. We discussed it over and over here
- 37:29Speaker 4: for today. Many of the issues the crack and face
- 37:32Speaker 4: I think al second period and on. It's a different
- 37:36Speaker 4: game and a different narrative. You're talking about if the
- 37:38Speaker 4: cracking can pop one or two in the power play.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, And you know the the last time that
- 37:43Speaker 2: the Krack and saw the other's they won three to two,
- 37:45Speaker 2: and they were still zero for three on the power play,
- 37:47Speaker 2: and Edonton was one for one on their power play.
- 37:49Speaker 2: So a very similar game from that standpoint, but they
- 37:52Speaker 2: were able to find the back of the net even strength,
- 37:55Speaker 2: and I thought that, you know, coming into the game,
- 37:57Speaker 2: you obviously want to limit the league's third best power
- 37:59Speaker 2: play to his few chances as possible. You gave him six,
- 38:02Speaker 2: but this game was going to be one on even
- 38:05Speaker 2: strength if the Cracker were gonna win it.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Fourth consecutive game. The Crack and have come up empty
- 38:09Speaker 4: on the power play, by the way, last time they
- 38:11Speaker 4: scored one was in that win on the road over
- 38:14Speaker 4: the Chicago Blackhawks on November twentyeth And we look as
- 38:17Speaker 4: far as who's out, Jaden Schwartz makes a big difference,
- 38:20Speaker 4: But as Lane Lambert said, there's always a way that
- 38:22Speaker 4: you can look into paraphrasing this to get a win.
- 38:26Speaker 4: So with him out of the picture, what was a
- 38:28Speaker 4: big difference here for today, especially for the for the
- 38:30Speaker 4: five on three.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it was that the house area in front of
- 38:32Speaker 2: the net. You know, Jaden Schwartz lives in that area.
- 38:35Speaker 2: You know, whether it's deflections, whether it's finding rebounds, whether
- 38:38Speaker 2: it's that tapping goal on the back post. Others tried
- 38:41Speaker 2: to do it tonight, but I think they were missing
- 38:43Speaker 2: him considerably, not just on potting the bar play, but
- 38:46Speaker 2: even strength as well.
- 38:48Speaker 4: They had five shots on net on that five on three.
- 38:51Speaker 4: But again, execution is always a big reason why you're
- 38:54Speaker 4: able to get one. Get to this could be a
- 38:57Speaker 4: part of the conversation again and one more tell us
- 39:00Speaker 4: four nine four or five to one and what you
- 39:02Speaker 4: want to see better and more for the Kraken with
- 39:05Speaker 4: offensive execution when they get back to play coming up
- 39:09Speaker 4: this next Thursday against Edmonton Lane Lambert, we're gonna hear
- 39:12Speaker 4: from him as well later on as we're gonna take
- 39:14Speaker 4: it for about another twenty minutes or so, all the
- 39:17Speaker 4: way to about roughly oh, getting past the bottom of
- 39:20Speaker 4: the hour here once again, as of the crack and
- 39:23Speaker 4: fall for nothing, first time that they have lost back
- 39:26Speaker 4: to back games in regulation on home ice, I first
- 39:30Speaker 4: go back to period one, al when you talk about
- 39:32Speaker 4: how the build up kind of felt similar, but the
- 39:35Speaker 4: Kracking were still very much in the mix of this.
- 39:39Speaker 4: They had to stand a wave back in period one.
- 39:41Speaker 4: Shots were five nothing Edmonton, and you think maybe that's expected.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Edmonton has got talent upon talent as far as skill,
- 39:49Speaker 4: as far as offense and getting Ryan NuGen Hopkins back.
- 39:53Speaker 4: Lengthen's their lineup. They've gotten David dry Sidal and then
- 39:56Speaker 4: the guy they call RNH the Kraken. First power play,
- 40:00Speaker 4: they went over on that first look obviously, but I
- 40:02Speaker 4: thought that first unit got good looks. The second unit
- 40:05Speaker 4: out there for a little less than half the time,
- 40:07Speaker 4: but weren't able to you know, I think generate much
- 40:09Speaker 4: as far as the first unit saw as far as
- 40:12Speaker 4: scoring chances.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think that, you know, one of the
- 40:14Speaker 2: issues that that the Kraken have been dealing with is
- 40:16Speaker 2: starting on time right from the drop of the puck
- 40:18Speaker 2: in the first period. I thought they did that tonight,
- 40:21Speaker 2: drawing those penalties in the first period, they getting the
- 40:23Speaker 2: five to one three, that's all a part of starting
- 40:25Speaker 2: on time executing. It has nothing to do with starting
- 40:28Speaker 2: on time. You want to go generate those opportunities and
- 40:30Speaker 2: then you have to go execute them when you do
- 40:32Speaker 2: get the power play chances. So they absolutely started on time.
- 40:35Speaker 2: They gave up the one power play goal in the
- 40:37Speaker 2: first period to RNH and they end the period won nothing,
- 40:40Speaker 2: losing down one nothing, No reason to panic. You know,
- 40:43Speaker 2: this team is used to tight games, but that that
- 40:46Speaker 2: second period, giving up two more goals in that second period,
- 40:49Speaker 2: not being able to get one on the board after
- 40:52Speaker 2: forty minutes of play. That's when things started to feel
- 40:54Speaker 2: like this might not be the night.
- 40:55Speaker 4: For the cracking Mason march Ben had the spotlight on
- 40:59Speaker 4: him lot. Yeah, for this game tonight. There are a
- 41:02Speaker 4: couple of ways to go about this all. First off,
- 41:05Speaker 4: begin with a penalty that he was called on for
- 41:07Speaker 4: goalie interference. What'd you think about roughly now, two hours
- 41:11Speaker 4: after it happened?
- 41:11Speaker 2: Ow wow, I mean I thought it was a bad call,
- 41:13Speaker 2: you know, and listen, referees are human. I love to
- 41:17Speaker 2: chat with them at all levels about different situations and
- 41:19Speaker 2: understand how they see the game. But you know, as
- 41:22Speaker 2: a as a forward like Mason Marchman who's played played
- 41:26Speaker 2: this game of hockey, when you get when you're going
- 41:28Speaker 2: harder than thatt, your intent is to stop in front
- 41:30Speaker 2: of the net or stop in front of the goalie
- 41:31Speaker 2: and look for a rebound. When you're going harder net
- 41:34Speaker 2: and you get hit towards the goalie and then you
- 41:37Speaker 2: get tripped by a second player at the same time,
- 41:40Speaker 2: it's hard to say, well, I couldn't avoid hitting him.
- 41:44Speaker 2: I was hit and tripped into the goalie. So then
- 41:46Speaker 2: to get penalized on top of that, that hurts. And
- 41:49Speaker 2: you know, if I'm if I'm laying Lambert in the situation,
- 41:51Speaker 2: I'm probably talking to Marchman after the game saying, hey,
- 41:53Speaker 2: you know that that call shouldn't have been made there.
- 41:55Speaker 2: So it hurt because not only was was the call made,
- 41:58Speaker 2: but I think that was the first time.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Here's one thing too, and then Lane Lambert told us
- 42:02Speaker 4: this even earlier this morning, and that penalties like that
- 42:05Speaker 4: you can live with because he's making a hard play
- 42:07Speaker 4: right toward the front of the net. That's the way
- 42:09Speaker 4: he wants this team to play, is the reckless penalties.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Maybe elsewhere there's careless penalties, hooking, holding where you're not
- 42:16Speaker 4: moving your legs, you know, penalties there about you know,
- 42:20Speaker 4: a length of the ice all the way from your
- 42:21Speaker 4: own net. Those are penalties which really disturb a head coach.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, penalties like that are probably the only
- 42:28Speaker 2: penalties in the offensive end of the ice that you're
- 42:31Speaker 2: okay with from a coach downpoint. If you're going to
- 42:33Speaker 2: go harder the net and you get hit into the
- 42:34Speaker 2: opposing team's goalie, yeah, you don't want to take the penalty,
- 42:37Speaker 2: but you're causing some chaos, and I think that's okay
- 42:39Speaker 2: early in the game. Obviously you'd like to see a
- 42:42Speaker 2: kill there, because even as a fellow teammate of Mason Marshmans,
- 42:45Speaker 2: I like when my teammates go hard on the net,
- 42:47Speaker 2: so I want to go out and kill that. Unfortunately,
- 42:50Speaker 2: the Cracker weren't able to do that against the league's
- 42:52Speaker 2: thirst third best power play, and that put them in
- 42:54Speaker 2: the in the hole.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Now, Mason marshmant late hit in the or a hit
- 42:59Speaker 4: Layton period on and did that really stir the horness
- 43:02Speaker 4: nest on the Edmonton side. They were in his ear,
- 43:04Speaker 4: Darnell Nurse wanting to fight for about roughly the remainder
- 43:07Speaker 4: of the game. How did that play a role here
- 43:09Speaker 4: for tonight?
- 43:10Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 43:10Speaker 2: No, I thought that, Like I said, you're happy with
- 43:13Speaker 2: to kill off that penalty that Mason Marchman took going
- 43:16Speaker 2: to the net, and then he goes and draws a
- 43:17Speaker 2: penalty against Leon dry Settle. Again, if I'm gonna draw
- 43:21Speaker 2: a penalty on just about anybody on the Edmonton boiler
- 43:24Speaker 2: bene other than maybe McDavid, dry Siddle is probably my
- 43:27Speaker 2: second choice. So you put him in the box for
- 43:29Speaker 2: two minutes. So as far as I'm concerned those two
- 43:32Speaker 2: situations for Mason Marchman, I'm fine with play that way Thursday,
- 43:37Speaker 2: no problem whatsoever. I don't think it needs to continue
- 43:40Speaker 2: during the last five minutes of the third period when
- 43:42Speaker 2: you're down for nothing. I mean, you're gonna stand up
- 43:44Speaker 2: for yourself, obviously, but that's no longer gonna have an
- 43:47Speaker 2: impact on the game. Save that stuff for Thursday.
- 43:49Speaker 4: And here's where I think you give out two ten
- 43:51Speaker 4: min and misconducts. I mean, that's just the officials trying
- 43:53Speaker 4: to keep a tight leash on this game. They don't
- 43:56Speaker 4: want to see anything really really ugly boil over late
- 43:59Speaker 4: here because he's two teams again do face off again
- 44:02Speaker 4: this next week, and as it's been setting this game
- 44:05Speaker 4: over and over and over again, hockey players of long
- 44:07Speaker 4: memories out.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, did they have to give out ten
- 44:10Speaker 2: minute majors. No, But one of the roles of referees
- 44:12Speaker 2: is to manage the game, and I think at that
- 44:14Speaker 2: point it was not going to hurt either team to
- 44:16Speaker 2: send both guys to the showers early, So that's what
- 44:19Speaker 2: they do to manage that.
- 44:21Speaker 4: So how much does this carry over emotionally next week.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Well, I think a lot of it does. I mean,
- 44:25Speaker 2: you know, the Mason Marchman thing isn't going to go away.
- 44:28Speaker 2: It'll continue for the rest of the season. I think
- 44:30Speaker 2: that Seattle needs to be a little angry going into
- 44:33Speaker 2: Edmonton that they got shut out in their own building.
- 44:35Speaker 2: So that's got to feed into the game. And you know,
- 44:38Speaker 2: somebody said, well, Edmonton didn't have any trip to fan
- 44:40Speaker 2: to deal with tonight coming down from Canada. So you know,
- 44:43Speaker 2: now you got the first game after Thanksgiving done, Thursday's
- 44:47Speaker 2: a whole whole new game and I expect to see
- 44:49Speaker 2: a big battle from Seattle.
- 44:50Speaker 4: Well it came. It became pretty apparent they were the
- 44:53Speaker 4: Oilers were preoccupied with getting after Mason marshmanth You had
- 44:56Speaker 4: that late first period hit and then Marshmen escalating it.
- 45:00Speaker 4: You had the dry Settle penalty for holding, and it
- 45:02Speaker 4: seemed as if the officials, you know, kind of let
- 45:05Speaker 4: the first one go and then the second one. Okay,
- 45:07Speaker 4: twenty nine, you're off the ash. We got to take
- 45:09Speaker 4: you off here.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:10Speaker 2: In fact, in fact, I was surprised to see the
- 45:12Speaker 2: crack and even get a power play in the third
- 45:14Speaker 2: period because I figured that after getting five in the
- 45:16Speaker 2: first two periods that that that faucet might be empty.
- 45:20Speaker 2: But they got the six to one in the third
- 45:22Speaker 2: and weren't able to capitalize on that one either.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Five on three, I want to go back to that.
- 45:27Speaker 4: That could have been a big potential turning point. And
- 45:29Speaker 4: when you come up empty for a little under a
- 45:32Speaker 4: two minute span, that is a tough pill to swallow.
- 45:35Speaker 4: The Kraken went with Vince Dunn and Brandon Montour on
- 45:39Speaker 4: that top unit. You're looking to get shots and then
- 45:43Speaker 4: Ryker Evans eventually when that power play unit's gassed, he's
- 45:46Speaker 4: your point guy coming out for a unit number two.
- 45:48Speaker 4: So you're looking for shots. They had five and the
- 45:51Speaker 4: five on three, but did they get enough in the
- 45:52Speaker 4: middle you think, I.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Mean, I think they had lots of shots in the
- 45:55Speaker 2: five on three, but if you can't score on a
- 45:57Speaker 2: five on three, you probably have no business winning that
- 45:59Speaker 2: high game. And in addition to that, getting four more
- 46:02Speaker 2: power play opportunities in addition to that five on three
- 46:05Speaker 2: to score, so you know, not clicking there, especially on
- 46:08Speaker 2: that five on three, was definitely an indicator for me
- 46:10Speaker 2: that maybe today was just not going to be the
- 46:13Speaker 2: Krackens day again.
- 46:14Speaker 4: Four nine, four to five one, Texas right now KJR
- 46:17Speaker 4: text line and give us your thoughts on what the
- 46:19Speaker 4: Cracket need to do more as far as offensive execution
- 46:23Speaker 4: when they get back at it this next Thursday against
- 46:26Speaker 4: the Edmonton Oilers. They've been shut out now for the
- 46:28Speaker 4: second time in three games. Again four nine, four or
- 46:31Speaker 4: five to one. You tell us right now on the
- 46:33Speaker 4: KJAR text line. All right, one hear from the five
- 46:36Speaker 4: to ZHO three saying the Kracket need to score in
- 46:38Speaker 4: the power play and be more aggressive in the ford check.
- 46:40Speaker 4: That was the reaction here from today. Just too many
- 46:43Speaker 4: messy passes, weren't skating with the puck, Dumping it into
- 46:46Speaker 4: the offensive zone didn't work and took too much time
- 46:50Speaker 4: setting up the perfect shot. That from the five OHO three,
- 46:53Speaker 4: all your thoughts on that.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Yeah, there's two reasons to dump. To dump the pucketo
- 46:56Speaker 2: the offensive zone. One, as you're at the end of
- 46:58Speaker 2: your shift, you spent the entire shift in your own
- 47:00Speaker 2: into the ice playing defense. You finally get out, you've
- 47:02Speaker 2: got to put the puck down to be able to
- 47:04Speaker 2: get five guys off the ice and get five on.
- 47:06Speaker 2: That's fine. The other reason is to attack and when
- 47:08Speaker 2: you put the puck in the on the attack, it's
- 47:10Speaker 2: because the other team is not giving you the blue
- 47:12Speaker 2: line and they're and they're staying up on the blue line,
- 47:15Speaker 2: which means they're probably flat footed, which means that when
- 47:17Speaker 2: you put the puck in, you have speed they don't.
- 47:19Speaker 2: You have to get to that puck first. If you don't,
- 47:22Speaker 2: if you lose that puck battle after putting it in,
- 47:24Speaker 2: you've lost every opportunity to get anything going offensively. So
- 47:27Speaker 2: the crack and we're not doing a great job at
- 47:29Speaker 2: getting those dump ins on off the rush back in
- 47:33Speaker 2: their positioning possession and getting things going.
- 47:35Speaker 4: Uh for the five OZHO three, saying Joey Decor did
- 47:38Speaker 4: a lot of hard work to keep the cracking in
- 47:40Speaker 4: the game here for the first period, it didn't feel
- 47:42Speaker 4: like the rest of the team was really playing their
- 47:44Speaker 4: systemers skating full out here that from the five OHO three,
- 47:48Speaker 4: I will say this, when you look at players engaging them,
- 47:53Speaker 4: Berkeley Catton was your best player on the ice. But
- 47:55Speaker 4: how much more were you basically looking for, especially here
- 47:58Speaker 4: from the four group Bell.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think I'm looking for lots more
- 48:02Speaker 2: from the forward group. Again, you get Cocko back you
- 48:04Speaker 2: get get McCann back, you're expecting goals from those guys,
- 48:07Speaker 2: and unfortunately they weren't able to capitalize here tonight. And
- 48:10Speaker 2: talking about Joey Decord, Joey had the loss the other
- 48:14Speaker 2: night to get against Dallas against Dallas, and I thought
- 48:19Speaker 2: maybe Grubauer might come in tonight. You know, not because
- 48:21Speaker 2: it was a loss, but I just thought that he's
- 48:24Speaker 2: been playing well lately. You didn't have to win the
- 48:27Speaker 2: other night. I thought Grubauer might come in. I know
- 48:31Speaker 2: Joey Decord's not happy with the outcome tonight. Obviously it's
- 48:34Speaker 2: a loss, but coming into this game, he was nine
- 48:36Speaker 2: h six save percentage. He drops to eighty or eight
- 48:40Speaker 2: forty after this game, So a six percent drop or
- 48:42Speaker 2: more than the six percent drop after losing four nothing,
- 48:45Speaker 2: no goaltender is gonna like, especially when it drops you
- 48:48Speaker 2: below nine hundred. So you know, talk about special teams
- 48:51Speaker 2: all you want. Two of the four power or goals
- 48:53Speaker 2: were power play goals. But even Joey Decord knows he's
- 48:57Speaker 2: got better in him and he wants to bring better.
- 49:00Speaker 4: The handle s bell Man five to two three, saying
- 49:03Speaker 4: that it's time to look at the trade market here
- 49:05Speaker 4: right now, and that from the handle on Twitter at
- 49:08Speaker 4: s Bellman five to two three, Phil checking in saying
- 49:11Speaker 4: need Vince done, Brandon montour ryker evans to take more
- 49:14Speaker 4: offensive chances and hard to do when defensemen aren't playing
- 49:18Speaker 4: very mobile absent from that, more grit around than that,
- 49:22Speaker 4: and try to get back to scoring more greasy goals
- 49:24Speaker 4: and also not to get Yanni Newman back in there more,
- 49:27Speaker 4: especially in the power play. That from Phil on Twitter.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Yannie Newman's got that special skill with
- 49:32Speaker 2: that one timer. You know, I think that the coaching
- 49:36Speaker 2: staff is looking for more out of him from a
- 49:37Speaker 2: two hundred foot standpoint. He's a big man. They want
- 49:40Speaker 2: to see him play like a big man. But you know,
- 49:43Speaker 2: that shot is absolutely a piece of a successful power play.
- 49:46Speaker 2: You've got to have that one timer. I don't think
- 49:48Speaker 2: we saw it enough to today in the six power
- 49:51Speaker 2: plays with the Kraken hat. It's just a piece that
- 49:54Speaker 2: you have to have as a threat. So teams respect
- 49:57Speaker 2: that and you see Edmonton do it with dry Settle.
- 49:59Speaker 2: Sometimes he shoots it, sometimes he feeds it back to
- 50:01Speaker 2: the middle and that can result in a goal as well.
- 50:04Speaker 4: What do you think four nine four five one on
- 50:05Speaker 4: the KJR text line, what's gonna take you to generate
- 50:08Speaker 4: more offense again? Four nine four five one one more
- 50:11Speaker 4: reaction before we get to break here from Calvin, get
- 50:14Speaker 4: more young guys here in the lineup? That could provide
- 50:17Speaker 4: a spark. That from Calvin on Twitter, which leads which
- 50:21Speaker 4: leads me to ask this, Al, what does practice now
- 50:23Speaker 4: look like as far as trying to dial things up
- 50:26Speaker 4: and compete here to maybe see who gets a certain
- 50:28Speaker 4: spot in the lineup. You're coming up here for this
- 50:30Speaker 4: next Thursday.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I don't think there's any panic button
- 50:32Speaker 2: being hit here, just like there wasn't after the two
- 50:34Speaker 2: losses with Philadelphia and Washington. But I do think, you know,
- 50:38Speaker 2: a good day of practice, a mindset reset going into
- 50:43Speaker 2: Edmonton for Thursday. I think we're gonna see a very
- 50:45Speaker 2: different game on Thursday than we saw here today.
- 50:47Speaker 4: That will be up next here for the crack and
- 50:49Speaker 4: when they take on Edmonton. Everett's gonna be ready in
- 50:52Speaker 4: the booth. Al, You'll be ready in the booth. I'll
- 50:55Speaker 4: be ready as usual back at Network Central and looking
- 50:58Speaker 4: forward to it. I appreciate your friend, Thank you.
- 51:00Speaker 2: No problem. Good to beer.
- 51:01Speaker 4: We're gonna get al Koniski going on here once again.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Brief break reaction from Cracking head coach Lane Lambert coming
- 51:07Speaker 4: up in just a little bit after this is the
- 51:09Speaker 4: crack and fall once again to Edmonton for nothing, and

- 51:17Speaker 4: Shortly after this, this is talking Cracking a ninety three

- 53:28Speaker 1: Are Berkeley Catton racing for Catton right on? What a
- 53:31Speaker 1: big save by Stewart Skinner. My goodness, Catton had them
- 53:36Speaker 1: dead their rights and Skinner able to knock it away.
- 53:40Speaker 4: Well, you give credit where credit is due. An impressive
- 53:43Speaker 4: right pad, say by Stewart Skinner. But Berkeley Canton maybe
- 53:46Speaker 4: a sign that his first NHL goal isn't two far away.
- 53:49Speaker 4: He had a couple of shots on net and two
- 53:51Speaker 4: very good ones as well in sixteen forty four of
- 53:54Speaker 4: ice time, but he liked the rest of the krackend
- 53:56Speaker 4: coming up empty offensively here for today in a four
- 54:00Speaker 4: nothing lost to Edmonton. Mike Betton with you back here
- 54:03Speaker 4: on Talking Cracking on Sports Radio nine to fifty k JR.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Let's check back in downstairs for more reaction. Meeting with
- 54:10Speaker 4: the media right now is Cracking head coach Lane Lambert and.
- 54:13Speaker 21: The five on three obviously loomed a little large once
- 54:17Speaker 21: this game was over, as did the power play chances.
- 54:20Speaker 21: I'm just wondering on those power plays, did you see
- 54:22Speaker 21: anything you know in common, any common themes in them?
- 54:26Speaker 21: Obviously there were no goals in any of them someone.
- 54:29Speaker 22: Yeah, you know, I mean we had twelve shots on
- 54:31Speaker 22: goal in the power play, so it wasn't like we
- 54:33Speaker 22: didn't get some shots or some looks. You know, Clearly,
- 54:40Speaker 22: a lot of times when you don't capitalize on a
- 54:42Speaker 22: five on three, it sort of reaches up to bite you.
- 54:44Speaker 10: In a game.
- 54:46Speaker 22: We had, you know, we had a good look at that.
- 54:48Speaker 22: We had a long time to have that five on three,
- 54:51Speaker 22: and you know, the the fact we didn't capitalize on
- 54:54Speaker 22: it was disappointing, you know, and certainly, like I say,
- 54:59Speaker 22: there there was a few opportunities that probably could have
- 55:02Speaker 22: went in the net for us, but it didn't. So
- 55:04Speaker 22: we just have to continue to work at it. You know.
- 55:07Speaker 22: For eleven here in the last two home games and
- 55:09Speaker 22: two losses on the power play, isn't isn't a formula
- 55:12Speaker 22: for success.
- 55:14Speaker 21: Did the officials explain the marchmen penalty at all beyond
- 55:17Speaker 21: the beyond the call?
- 55:18Speaker 22: Does it look like you got blindsided? Yeah, well, he
- 55:23Speaker 22: tried to explain it, but I think that you know,
- 55:26Speaker 22: after he takes a look at it, you know, probably
- 55:30Speaker 22: realized that that was a hard call to make at
- 55:33Speaker 22: a critical time. We can't afford to give that team
- 55:36Speaker 22: power plays and certainly we don't want to be giving
- 55:38Speaker 22: him free power plays. Certainly wasn't a penalty.
- 55:46Speaker 30: And coach, speaking of Marchman, he was obviously getting challenged
- 55:49Speaker 30: there after his head on nurse and he kept resisting it.
- 55:53Speaker 30: In a way, it kind of got Edmonton off their game,
- 55:55Speaker 30: it seemed like as they were trying to chase him
- 55:56Speaker 30: around the ice. I mean, what did you make of
- 55:59Speaker 30: both the extras in the game, but also his kind
- 56:01Speaker 30: of resistance to accepting that challenge.
- 56:04Speaker 22: Ah, well, I don't know that there was a there
- 56:06Speaker 22: was a resistance. He certainly, you know, he was involved,
- 56:10Speaker 22: and that's part of who he is. Part of his
- 56:14Speaker 22: game is getting under people's skin a little bit, you know.
- 56:17Speaker 22: And and so I thought from that standpoint, I thought
- 56:21Speaker 22: he was you know, he made an impact on the game,
- 56:26Speaker 22: you know, the physicality and stuff like that. I mean,
- 56:30Speaker 22: it's a national hockey league. There's two teams going at it.
- 56:33Speaker 22: We play them again Thursday.
- 56:35Speaker 17: Lane, you talked about the disappointment of the power plays results,
- 56:38Speaker 17: but where do you feel like the power play can
- 56:39Speaker 17: improve to be able to improve those results?
- 56:42Speaker 22: Well, again, I think that, you know, I think we
- 56:44Speaker 22: can we talk about it a lot. We can move
- 56:47Speaker 22: bucks quicker when we get teams sort of on the ropes.
- 56:50Speaker 22: When there's a shot and there's a rebound, we're too
- 56:54Speaker 22: slow to move the puck and therefore then they're able
- 56:57Speaker 22: to reset. You know, a lot of power. The goals
- 57:00Speaker 22: in this league are scored after shots and then it's
- 57:03Speaker 22: you know, pentally kills out of structure and you know
- 57:07Speaker 22: you take advantage of that. We've got to be quicker
- 57:09Speaker 22: with our decision making.
- 57:11Speaker 4: That's the reaction from Krackenead coach Lane Lambert and very
- 57:15Speaker 4: good as well as the Kraken come up empty unfortunately
- 57:17Speaker 4: here for today, for nothing to the Edmonton Oilers. Certainly
- 57:21Speaker 4: there were shots on goal and the power play the
- 57:23Speaker 4: krack And were able to generate five on five. They
- 57:26Speaker 4: had fourteen of their twenty six shots come from that situation.
- 57:30Speaker 4: Elsewhere five on four, seven shots on net, five on three,
- 57:35Speaker 4: five shots on net, which leads the question what do
- 57:38Speaker 4: you do after that? Well, Lane Lambert I thought brought
- 57:41Speaker 4: a great point up and it's all about movement and
- 57:43Speaker 4: number one, the cracking had been a bit too slow
- 57:46Speaker 4: to move the pucket, as he mentioned, a ton of
- 57:49Speaker 4: power play goals are usually scored in the NHL, which
- 57:52Speaker 4: usually come after the first shot, which means offense comes
- 57:56Speaker 4: from producing a breakdown either in the PK system or
- 58:00Speaker 4: on goaltending as well. When a goalie is moving, it's
- 58:03Speaker 4: harder for him to stop the puck. When the pcha
- 58:05Speaker 4: is moving, it's harder for them to block shots as well.
- 58:08Speaker 4: So maybe one point of emphasis the KRACK and want
- 58:10Speaker 4: to work on potentially is getting more movement out of
- 58:14Speaker 4: what they're facing when it comes to the penalty kill
- 58:17Speaker 4: and when it comes to as well. A goalie who
- 58:20Speaker 4: was certainly stationary and for much of the season here
- 58:24Speaker 4: Stuart Skinner much maligned, he looked pretty solid here for
- 58:28Speaker 4: today in a bounce back effort and a big reason
- 58:30Speaker 4: why that he turned in a twenty six save effort
- 58:33Speaker 4: on twenty six shots. There could have been a bit
- 58:36Speaker 4: more moving to get him potentially off his game, but
- 58:39Speaker 4: especially in period one, when you give him twelve saves
- 58:42Speaker 4: on twelve shots, that builds up confidence and you can
- 58:44Speaker 4: certainly see why that confidence turned into his second shutout
- 58:49Speaker 4: of the season. One last check here of Twitter as
- 58:52Speaker 4: far as your reaction, Darryl saying with the KRACK and
- 58:54Speaker 4: he's looking to get new lines maybe and see if
- 58:57Speaker 4: the Shane Wright and Ty Karchay could get moved up here,
- 59:00Speaker 4: maybe even a call up potential for Jagger Fercus as well.
- 59:03Speaker 4: He's on board for that. Darryl, thank you very much
- 59:07Speaker 4: for the reaction, and also hear from Greg just saying
- 59:10Speaker 4: that he's looking for more improvement in the passing game
- 59:13Speaker 4: also with turning pucks over and they're looking to get
- 59:16Speaker 4: He's looking to get more more of an improvement here
- 59:20Speaker 4: from the turnover game and also from careful possession of
- 59:23Speaker 4: the puck as well from Greg on Twitter and x.
- 59:28Speaker 4: So the crack of now focusing for their next game
- 59:31Speaker 4: and it's gonna be a little further out now. That's
- 59:33Speaker 4: gonna be next Thursday when they take on Edmonton, so
- 59:37Speaker 4: plenty of time off here to rest recouperate it back
- 59:40Speaker 4: to practice and look for improvement from within. That's where
- 59:43Speaker 4: it stands as of right now. You can talk trade market,
- 59:46Speaker 4: but there's not a lot of names out there in
- 59:49Speaker 4: the trade market as far as activity and as far
- 59:52Speaker 4: as the crack and are concerned. A lot of this
- 59:54Speaker 4: is gonna get fixed potentially from within. Until you see
- 59:57Speaker 4: and hear more day or more names being down out
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: there and for the time being, they're looking to basically
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: try to find ways to work on solutions here internally
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: before they can begin to add from a trade potential,
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: which usually won't come several weeks more and more down
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: the road. Matchup three is next here for the KRACK
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: and is a take on the Edmonton Oilers so that
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: you can certainly here be with us for that next contest,
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: which will be over at Rogers Place this time Thursday,
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: December fourth. That is a six pm Pacific put drop
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: at Rogers Place five point thirty showtime. Your pregame show
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: is served up by Frostbrew Corps Light Choose Chill ever
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: written now on the call, I'll join you once again
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: from Network Central as a Kraken looking to generate more
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: and bounce back and get into the wind call him
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: after a four to nothing shut out lost today to
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: the Edmonton Oilers or thanks to Travis Muger, our technical director,
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: also Terry Ryan, our on site engineer, as that will
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: do it for here. Big thank you also to Al
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: Koniski first hanging with us as well back the corpse
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Light landing in section twenty and for Al this is
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: Mike Benton saying good day from Climbing Pledge Arena and
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: thank you for joining us. Your final score once again,
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: the Edmonton Oilers four and the Seattle cracking nothing. This
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: is Talking Craken on Sports Radio nine point fifty KJR
