- 1:15Speaker 3: don't call it a comeback. The LSU offense had a day, yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 4: Apparently, so, I mean we didn't get to make it
- 1:23Speaker 4: out there because they started like nine to forty five yesterday.
- 1:26Speaker 4: But eleven on eleven started and Matt, I don't want
- 1:31Speaker 4: to discourage you here, boy. First two plays of eleven
- 1:34Speaker 4: on eleven dropped screen pass by Winston Watkins, another screen
- 1:39Speaker 4: pass to Winston Watkins where he was tackled for a
- 1:41Speaker 4: loss followed by a Husson Longstreet interception. However, after that,
- 1:47Speaker 4: the offense apparently rolled Longstreet and Land and Clark were
- 1:50Speaker 4: actually rotating in with the Ones. It wasn't just Land
- 1:53Speaker 4: and Clark, says I mentioned on Saturday, I thought who's
- 1:56Speaker 4: on Long Street had the better of the two days
- 1:58Speaker 4: in that scrimmage, and the coaching staff thought so as well.
- 2:01Speaker 2: He was in there a lot with the Ones.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Both of them played well, Land of Clark with a
- 2:05Speaker 4: touchdown pass Long Street as well. So you know, the
- 2:09Speaker 4: offensive bounce back day, and Kiffin and his press conference
- 2:12Speaker 4: post practice said basically, I'm sorry you guys had to
- 2:15Speaker 4: see that on Saturday. He's like, that's not who we are.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I thought the offense was was was bad. I mean,
- 2:19Speaker 4: that's that's what Kiffin said at his post practice. So
- 2:23Speaker 4: it makes sense that they had a big bounce back day.
- 2:26Speaker 4: And you know on Louisiana Sports dot Net, Matt and
- 2:29Speaker 4: Hunt they put together a detailed practice report and here's
- 2:33Speaker 4: one fun note in there. Deuced Gerald's freshman defensive tackle
- 2:37Speaker 4: they've been raving about, you know, running with the Ones.
- 2:40Speaker 4: He took a direct snap in the backfield on short yardage.
- 2:43Speaker 4: So that's a fun little ring. Basically, Lane was asked
- 2:47Speaker 4: about it in the post practice interview session and he said, yeah,
- 2:53Speaker 4: you know, we did this with JJ Pickeze. If you
- 2:55Speaker 4: guys remember he did that a lot JJ Pigeese's last
- 2:58Speaker 4: year at Old Miss. I believe it was too years ago,
- 3:00Speaker 4: and that's something that wanted to be in a weapon
- 3:02Speaker 4: for him. So you know, he gave the media a
- 3:04Speaker 4: little bit more you know, sort of wrinkles than what
- 3:08Speaker 4: we thought he was going to give. But uh yeah, overall,
- 3:10Speaker 4: by all accounts, much better day for the offense today
- 3:13Speaker 4: than it was on Saturday.
- 3:15Speaker 5: That's good. It's how it's supposed to there.
- 3:17Speaker 3: We go have some struggles, the defense is supposed to
- 3:20Speaker 3: be ahead of you, and then you have a day
- 3:22Speaker 3: where you fight back. You find a way to make
- 3:25Speaker 3: a couple of plays, answer the call.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Answer the bell. I like how Lane said, yeah, you know,
- 3:32Speaker 5: apologize for what you just saw out there. That was
- 3:34Speaker 5: pretty bad. So certainly not what he wants to put
- 3:38Speaker 5: on put on the field actually, first time kind of
- 3:41Speaker 5: at Tiger Stadium. But you know what, when there's bad,
- 3:44Speaker 5: air's good, and you got to look at the defense
- 3:47Speaker 5: as being really good. So That's that's always the funny
- 3:50Speaker 5: part about reporting for spring practice and training camp. It's like, man,
- 3:53Speaker 5: this guy looks bad, but then somebody else watching it's like, man,
- 3:57Speaker 5: defense looked really good. Yeah, So it's, uh, you know,
- 4:00Speaker 5: a little give and take there. You just want both
- 4:02Speaker 5: of you want both offense and defense to have a
- 4:05Speaker 5: day right at some point, and at the end of everything,
- 4:07Speaker 5: you want the defense in the offense of like better
- 4:11Speaker 5: days to equal out because you want to be balanced obviously,
- 4:14Speaker 5: so not I'm not teaching anybody anything right there. You
- 4:19Speaker 5: want the team to be balanced completely. So as long
- 4:22Speaker 5: as you minimize those days and you start getting better
- 4:25Speaker 5: because defense is going to be ahead, and ninety five
- 4:29Speaker 5: percent of the teams out there, defense is going to
- 4:31Speaker 5: be ahead at this point it's spring training, especially with
- 4:34Speaker 5: the coaching changes that went went on.
- 4:36Speaker 3: So any receivers tte in that report, because that continues
- 4:41Speaker 3: to be highly intriguing to me, is how that's going
- 4:44Speaker 3: to play out. And again, it like Matt talked about
- 4:47Speaker 3: the other day, like you don't need to have your
- 4:49Speaker 3: final whatever right now, but I'm just curious who's going
- 4:53Speaker 3: to step up. I mean, every day that we were
- 4:55Speaker 3: talking about transfer portal back when it was open, it
- 4:57Speaker 3: was a receiver, receiver, receiver. You kept add and adding
- 5:00Speaker 3: and adding. Well, the cream's got a rise to the
- 5:03Speaker 3: top at some point, and I'm just curious which one
- 5:05Speaker 3: of those guys is doing it right now.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Jackson Harris, the Hawaii transfer.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I told you guys on Monday that, you know, he
- 5:12Speaker 4: got a lot of run with the ones on Saturday,
- 5:14Speaker 4: and UH reports yesterday that he got behind the defense
- 5:17Speaker 4: a little bit. Atlantic Clark hit him on a long
- 5:19Speaker 4: touchdown pass during the first team offense when they were
- 5:22Speaker 4: out there running.
- 5:23Speaker 2: He kind of seems like the constant.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Like just remember last week it was Jace Brown and
- 5:27Speaker 4: Jackson Harris were the two. Those were the two guys
- 5:30Speaker 4: out White Alesie kind of replaced Jayce Brown. They've been
- 5:33Speaker 4: rotating in and out. You got Watkins, he's kind of
- 5:36Speaker 4: floating around on the slot. They send him in motion
- 5:38Speaker 4: a lot. But as far as like you're out wide receiver,
- 5:41Speaker 4: Jackson Harris has kind of been the guy for about
- 5:45Speaker 4: a week and a half now and hadn't really let
- 5:47Speaker 4: go of that spot.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And there's made some nice players out.
- 5:49Speaker 3: There, and again, your quarterback Sam Levitt is not out
- 5:53Speaker 3: there right now you're starting quarterback.
- 5:55Speaker 6: That's another part of the offensive story.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Did I see that link? Kiffin also say the most
- 6:01Speaker 5: impressive part of the offense has been the offensive one.
- 6:03Speaker 2: That's what he said. That's what you saw during the scrimmage.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Again, I went out there on Saturday and the entire
- 6:08Speaker 4: offense was bad.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Maybe it was.
- 6:10Speaker 5: He's probably thrown that day away. That's why, you know,
- 6:13Speaker 5: because look, we're apologized for we showed that's not us.
- 6:16Speaker 5: But let me tell you about the rest of the spring.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Right He opened the press conference talking about how bad
- 6:20Speaker 4: the offense was on Saturday, and again that was my
- 6:22Speaker 4: first extended look at him, and the offense was really bad.
- 6:25Speaker 4: I mean, I don't think anybody went out there on
- 6:28Speaker 4: Saturday would tell you any different. They were holding penalties,
- 6:31Speaker 4: you couldn't run the ball up the middle. But yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 4: I mean Lane started saying, and.
- 6:34Speaker 2: You know he was.
- 6:36Speaker 4: He prefaced that by saying, where we thought they were
- 6:38Speaker 4: going to be, based on where they are now, probably
- 6:41Speaker 4: one of your most improved groups. So, I mean, that's
- 6:43Speaker 4: one of those spots, you know, maybe the stuff we
- 6:45Speaker 4: don't get to see.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Lane. Actually he was pretty complimentary of that group. Where
- 6:50Speaker 2: we thought they were going to be well.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I mean, you know, he kind of mentioned that about
- 6:54Speaker 4: the whole you know a lot of individual players as well.
- 6:57Speaker 4: He's like, you know, this group is has progressed a
- 6:59Speaker 4: lot quick or he said that he thought that's been
- 7:01Speaker 4: his most consistent group throughout spring practice so far.
- 7:07Speaker 6: That's a group that.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I mean last year now again, like we talked about
- 7:12Speaker 3: it often, they weren't put in the best situations to
- 7:15Speaker 3: be able to go out there and succeed. But that's
- 7:17Speaker 3: a group that has to be better. Yeah, you can't
- 7:21Speaker 3: be what it was last year because two years ago
- 7:25Speaker 3: you were pass protection and not great and run blocking.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Last year you were bad at both.
- 7:32Speaker 5: There's not one besides what trade has did and the
- 7:37Speaker 5: running backs at times, there's not one position or phase
- 7:41Speaker 5: of the game that doesn't need to be exponentially better.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Yeah than it was. That's I mean, his like I'm
- 7:48Speaker 5: not gonna say historically bad, but like historically frustrating to watch. Certainly. Yeah,
- 7:54Speaker 5: we talked about it.
- 7:55Speaker 3: We broke down the running game that like both your
- 7:56Speaker 3: backs averaged over for I think they were over four
- 7:59Speaker 3: and a half for care but it was a lot
- 8:00Speaker 3: of individual effort, Like what were they like negative one
- 8:04Speaker 3: yards at the point of contact?
- 8:08Speaker 5: Right, that's not good. I think. Yeah, over twenty percent
- 8:11Speaker 5: of their passes forward passes went behind the line of scrimmage.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yep, what was the percent I forget now, we had
- 8:18Speaker 3: to go back on our notes. The percentage that was
- 8:20Speaker 3: five yards or.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Like it was. It was almost twenty five percent, very high.
- 8:26Speaker 5: So we we ourselves yesterday, Bud, we said we can't.
- 8:30Speaker 5: We can't fall on this trap. I know, I can't
- 8:32Speaker 5: keep looking back so easy too though.
- 8:37Speaker 3: It's us emotional, Yeah, because it was so bad and
- 8:40Speaker 3: you're like, it can't be that bad.
- 8:44Speaker 5: Again, it's it was so bad. And then Laying opens
- 8:47Speaker 5: his press conference apologizing for the offense. O.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Great, hey, but at least you have a head coach
- 8:55Speaker 3: that's ready to make adjustments.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 8:58Speaker 2: He didn't say we were spoiled one time.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Oh that's nice.
- 9:00Speaker 2: What did not accountability?
- 9:07Speaker 5: You're spoiled. You guys are spoiling. You're right, Coach.
- 9:11Speaker 7: Carl is always falling off the stummer.
- 9:16Speaker 5: I did see.
- 9:16Speaker 6: Brian Kelly is like working I think for CBS Sports.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he was on there again yesterday for something.
- 9:21Speaker 6: Like doing their draft pre draft coverage.
- 9:24Speaker 4: What do you when are you going around and like
- 9:26Speaker 4: from certain school to certain school, like during the spring.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think so, and I know he was like he
- 9:31Speaker 3: was on for like two hours with Dusky and Danny
- 9:35Speaker 3: over on Channel eighty four.
- 9:38Speaker 5: In the media game. Since he didn't get a coaching jo.
- 9:40Speaker 7: I don't know why they wouldn't ask.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Mel Tucker, thank you, thank you?
- 9:45Speaker 7: Why you ask mel Tucker?
- 9:47Speaker 5: Well, he's doing he's doing the actual ones. Brian Kelly
- 9:54Speaker 5: is just commented in mil Tucker doing the.
- 9:57Speaker 7: He's the expert.
- 10:02Speaker 5: I don't know what he's doing.
- 10:04Speaker 6: I'm not even I'm not even I didn't know you
- 10:06Speaker 6: knew who who mel Tecker was.
- 10:08Speaker 5: I didn't really know I knew who that was either,
- 10:10Speaker 5: you know what.
- 10:10Speaker 7: I mean, he just subconsciously had it on his brain.
- 10:14Speaker 5: I guess. So was that the coach that was almost
- 10:16Speaker 5: coach here?
- 10:18Speaker 3: I mean there was like almost the coach here people, except.
- 10:24Speaker 5: That he did a really good joke.
- 10:26Speaker 8: He was always like, these are the options, and then
- 10:29Speaker 8: mel Tucker for some reason, was always one of them.
- 10:32Speaker 5: That was said, that's why he wasn't a great coach,
- 10:34Speaker 5: because he's always thinking about.
- 10:35Speaker 8: The draft exactly. Yeah, we're worried about the mock drafts.
- 10:41Speaker 2: You botched that call on fourth down.
- 10:43Speaker 4: He's like, yeah, but gush, look at the moos and
- 10:44Speaker 4: the drafts in terms of accuracy.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Yeah, if you didn't listen to the first hour, you
- 10:54Speaker 5: have no clue what we're talking about.
- 10:56Speaker 7: Matt tried to say, mel Kiper and he said, mel Tucker.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Now you how you do?
- 11:01Speaker 7: You're welcome. That's what I'm here for.
- 11:03Speaker 5: It's a pretty quick and easy breakdown there.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I don't want to get into it, but you probably
- 11:08Speaker 2: don't know.
- 11:08Speaker 8: I got to keep it simple for Yeah, for me, yes,
- 11:13Speaker 8: for our simpleton.
- 11:14Speaker 5: But you're our simpleton, thank you.
- 11:16Speaker 7: And nobody else is allowed to call you that.
- 11:18Speaker 5: That's right, right, only us. I'm a business owner and
- 11:22Speaker 5: a father, thank you, and a radio host and one
- 11:24Speaker 5: of the top wonderlick scores ever for a quarterback.
- 11:27Speaker 7: Yes, right up there with Colin Kaepernick.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Okay, you are you also claim to be a height
- 11:36Speaker 3: that the combine saying I don't.
- 11:39Speaker 5: We've talked about you can't trust sentinels, you can't do it.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I think they were just pulling the information from the
- 11:46Speaker 3: NFL's website.
- 11:47Speaker 4: But check the wonder well, I will say somebody knows
- 11:50Speaker 4: by Sentinel Journal. It seems like they're trying too hard
- 11:54Speaker 4: to be professional. Do you have to thank you?
- 11:57Speaker 5: You've seen the matrix too, Yeah, tonals, Nope, not messing
- 12:05Speaker 5: around with those. They've never got a hight right, I
- 12:09Speaker 5: never what got a height? Right?
- 12:12Speaker 4: Oh, Jake, you were talking earlier about Darren sproles is
- 12:15Speaker 4: getting laughed at being only five foot six. Here's how
- 12:18Speaker 4: much of the drafts change over the years.
- 12:20Speaker 2: And oh five.
- 12:21Speaker 4: He was the fourteenth running back taken, and he went
- 12:24Speaker 4: in the fourth round. He was what he was the
- 12:27Speaker 4: fourteenth running back selected and went in the fourth round.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Wow, counted twice.
- 12:34Speaker 6: Can you give me some of those names you haven't
- 12:36Speaker 6: from him?
- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:37Speaker 3: Give me what seck one, give me a few sex
- 12:41Speaker 3: one two?
- 12:42Speaker 5: Give me what?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Come on? All right, all right, that's how you get
- 12:51Speaker 2: a razor. It is fairness.
- 13:00Speaker 7: Uh, the same way to ask That.
- 13:04Speaker 5: Sounds like a mistake. Outs.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I love how doctor Ethard stilt like that was a
- 13:13Speaker 2: serious question.
- 13:15Speaker 4: He was like, I don't think it's I think it's yeah.
- 13:19Speaker 6: Ronnie Brown, Yeah was a good player. Teammate mind, he
- 13:23Speaker 6: was actually a.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Good running back. Class three running backs in the first round.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Actually all in the top five. Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson,
- 13:32Speaker 4: Cadillac Williams all three in the top five.
- 13:35Speaker 7: I mean Cadillac Williams has to be one of the
- 13:37Speaker 7: best names ever.
- 13:38Speaker 6: Incredible name. Sedric Benson was.
- 13:42Speaker 4: When he played right That's right, yeah, J J. Arrington's
- 13:47Speaker 4: second round.
- 13:48Speaker 5: Okay, not Darren Spros.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Eric Shelton, who I have never heard of this person
- 13:54Speaker 4: in my life. Eric Shelton had seventy one yards rushing
- 13:57Speaker 4: in his NFL career.
- 13:59Speaker 6: He was a few carries away from a thousand.
- 14:03Speaker 2: He bus Matt would almost have got that predictions seventy one.
- 14:08Speaker 6: It's a fullback and I got way more.
- 14:10Speaker 4: First pick of the third round. You've probably heard this name,
- 14:13Speaker 4: Matt Frank Gore.
- 14:15Speaker 5: He's pretty good. I heard him. I just sold a
- 14:17Speaker 5: Frank Gore card recently. He's pretty good, pretty good player.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Gold Shimmer Otto.
- 14:21Speaker 6: Ryan Motes was in this draft and Motes was losing attack.
- 14:25Speaker 5: He is a decent player.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Maurice Clarett A drafted the last pick of the third round, Denver.
- 14:31Speaker 6: What are you doing? Darren Sproles was available.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Oh, speaking on this, this is a legit question. Who's
- 14:37Speaker 5: going to be the second running back taken, probably prize
- 14:41Speaker 5: from Notre Dame.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like there's a chance on people like.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Uh Washington from Arkansas. I don't know why you take
- 14:48Speaker 5: either one of them. Coleman from Washington. You gotta assume
- 14:51Speaker 5: both of those guys voted to not play in the
- 14:54Speaker 5: bowl game, so they're both loser mentalities.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Okay, the very namesy running back draft class you got there, No, it's.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Good like Marion Barber, Brandon Jacobs. Yeah, also fourth.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Round, and then.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Alvin Pierreman was fourth round and then a couple picks
- 15:14Speaker 4: after him, Darren Sproles won thirty overall.
- 15:16Speaker 6: Yep, so it's act really good, so good at Kansas State.
- 15:21Speaker 3: He was so good that man beat Oklahoma, like by
- 15:24Speaker 3: himself that one. Well him in the quarterback shout out Sprollsey.
- 15:29Speaker 3: He got paid back on everybody that's left there, everybody,
- 15:33Speaker 3: all right, real quick before we take the spriak on,

- 17:29Speaker 3: should we put this?
- 17:30Speaker 6: Should we put the one that we did on air?
- 17:33Speaker 3: Or should we like you know, maybe like all like
- 17:37Speaker 3: do one privately.
- 17:38Speaker 6: And put it out like as our official one.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Maybe we could do both, mean we could.
- 17:43Speaker 6: I feel like we need to put one like solid
- 17:45Speaker 6: one out there, and we.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Spent an hour.
- 17:47Speaker 7: I don't get what you're asking.
- 17:48Speaker 5: We spent an hour talking about it.
- 17:49Speaker 3: We should use that one, Okay, I'm just saying, like,
- 17:52Speaker 3: did you want to put the one that we did
- 17:54Speaker 3: on air? Like people do multiple mock drafts one point
- 17:58Speaker 3: two point oh, like if they get information.
- 18:00Speaker 7: And let's do that the one we did on air?
- 18:03Speaker 3: Yeah, sometimes like the way we did it, like we
- 18:05Speaker 3: would flip picks and see how different it would be.
- 18:07Speaker 5: So we're not gathering much more information.
- 18:12Speaker 7: Well, like the I would like to redeem myself on
- 18:15Speaker 7: my drafts.
- 18:15Speaker 6: But that was one of the things I was trying
- 18:17Speaker 6: to get done.
- 18:18Speaker 7: You're trying to help me out.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Just one. There was only one pick.
- 18:23Speaker 7: The other ones got like a B pleasant at a exactly.
- 18:27Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying, Like it wasn't the worst pick
- 18:29Speaker 3: of the day, the worst pick of the day was
- 18:31Speaker 3: Todd Simpson to Cleveland.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Got a B minus.
- 18:33Speaker 7: Well, I mean traded with himself.
- 18:36Speaker 5: They've got so many quarterbacks on that.
- 18:38Speaker 7: Trade for somebody that was going to be available anyway.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I think Deshaun Watson could be now.
- 18:43Speaker 4: I just think somebody is going to take him in
- 18:46Speaker 4: round one. And if if I would have had the
- 18:48Speaker 4: Steelers pick at twenty one, I would have picked him.
- 18:51Speaker 7: But I picked Makay Lemon and he's.
- 18:56Speaker 5: Going to be a cardinal.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure.
- 18:59Speaker 6: They're going to trade back.
- 19:01Speaker 2: They're going to trade back in yeah, into the end
- 19:03Speaker 2: of the first round.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Okay, So over under draft position on ty Simpson twenty four, that's.
- 19:12Speaker 2: A good about that's about right.
- 19:16Speaker 5: Okay, let's go twenty five then right under I'm gonna
- 19:21Speaker 5: say the Browns are at twenty four if they got
- 19:24Speaker 5: two first round picks.
- 19:25Speaker 2: But they got too they got two first round picks, if.
- 19:27Speaker 4: They were willing to trade that, they could trade that
- 19:29Speaker 4: exact pick.
- 19:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna say over, I'm gonna I think that they
- 19:32Speaker 3: trade with the guy who's there, like Texas. Yeah, one
- 19:39Speaker 3: of those teams the Texans love. What's the big knockout
- 19:42Speaker 3: on ty Simpson.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Games? Played.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Really, that's when I started. One year, he couldn't beat
- 19:49Speaker 3: out Jaylen Millroe. I heard a lot of people say that.
- 19:52Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not telling you I said it.
- 19:55Speaker 5: I'm telling you I think Jayla ra has probably got
- 19:57Speaker 5: a pretty could potentially have a bright future. But that's
- 20:01Speaker 5: kind of the some of the things you hear about him,
- 20:07Speaker 5: So they just don't know. There's unknowns, there's an there's
- 20:10Speaker 5: not it's not really.
- 20:11Speaker 6: It took him a long time to get a college job.
- 20:13Speaker 5: It's not really a knock on him. It's just an
- 20:15Speaker 5: unknown which is certainly doesn't rank his positive points. It's
- 20:19Speaker 5: one of my things with RVL reas.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I think RVL Reese is an incredible athlete, but he's
- 20:23Speaker 3: only played eighteen games, right, that's you know.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Well, and you if you reach to take a quarterback
- 20:31Speaker 5: in the first round, you are most of the times
- 20:33Speaker 5: expecting him to play soon, sooner rather than later, and
- 20:38Speaker 5: in a position where this this kid might be because
- 20:41Speaker 5: of the lack of experience game time experience, might be
- 20:44Speaker 5: needing to cook a little bit more so cause I
- 20:46Speaker 5: don't think it's a I hadn't heard anything on talent level.
- 20:50Speaker 5: There's nobody he made some throws this year that nobody's made.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Nobody made better throws in all of college football than him.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Are you about to go full dan Orlowski and say
- 20:57Speaker 3: he should be the number one pick over Mendoza.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Nope, No, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying there
- 21:02Speaker 5: are a couple of clips. Now everybody can make a
- 21:04Speaker 5: highlight film and look like the greatest quarterback ever on
- 21:07Speaker 5: high If.
- 21:07Speaker 3: You go back and you make a highlight tape of
- 21:09Speaker 3: Nussmeier's throws against Old Miss two years ago to beat.
- 21:13Speaker 10: Them, yeah, I would say, for you know, for sure,
- 21:18Speaker 10: there's no doubt, Like there's Garrett is shown to be
- 21:21Speaker 10: as good as anybody out there in spurts it at.
- 21:24Speaker 5: Times, certainly not this past offense. Anyway, ty Simpson had
- 21:31Speaker 5: clips at least one or two game. For a while,
- 21:34Speaker 5: I did think about it. That is like, man, that
- 21:38Speaker 5: is like like I watched like twenty times. I was like, yeah,
- 21:41Speaker 5: that's that's a hell of a thrower. Like, there's nobody
- 21:43Speaker 5: in the world throwing it better a ball better than that.
- 21:46Speaker 5: There's people I can throw that throw, but nobody's throwing
- 21:49Speaker 5: it better than what he just did. So I think
- 21:51Speaker 5: there's talent there, there's potential there.
- 21:53Speaker 2: I guess that's like.
- 21:54Speaker 4: My big question to you because like nobody's saying that
- 21:57Speaker 4: Simpson should go over Mendoza, Like.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Like how big is that gap?
- 22:02Speaker 4: Like likes good too, there was.
- 22:06Speaker 5: Time like for a large majority you can at least
- 22:11Speaker 5: say ty Simpson was playing as good, maybe not better when.
- 22:15Speaker 6: They played head to head though there was no doubt.
- 22:17Speaker 5: No doubt quite like and I'm not arguing That's why
- 22:20Speaker 5: I say the big portion, Like you know, throughout the
- 22:22Speaker 5: let's first three quarters of the season, it just didn't
- 22:25Speaker 5: get any better for ty Simpsons. They kind of like
- 22:30Speaker 5: regressed a little bit, I think, But there was a
- 22:34Speaker 5: time that was like, man, there's nobody playing better than
- 22:37Speaker 5: ty Simpson right now at this position. Now, Fernando kept
- 22:41Speaker 5: going and getting better and better and better and more consistent,
- 22:45Speaker 5: but he was on the better team as well.
- 22:47Speaker 2: But is that gap that big?
- 22:49Speaker 8: No?
- 22:50Speaker 5: I don't, I don't. I don't know. I don't think
- 22:54Speaker 5: so because from an experience level, sure.
- 22:57Speaker 4: In the mock Jake brought up he had mel h
- 23:00Speaker 4: Is the Cardinals moving back into the first round to
- 23:02Speaker 4: take ty Simpson, and he was asked, well, why didn't
- 23:07Speaker 4: you have the Steelers take him, like whether without Rogers,
- 23:09Speaker 4: Like how long they aren't going to play? You know,
- 23:11Speaker 4: because somebody's like, oh, well they may be waiting on
- 23:13Speaker 4: Rogers and consider the sores. Mel's response was, well, twenty
- 23:16Speaker 4: one is way too high for Ty Sampson.
- 23:19Speaker 5: I was like, is it right?
- 23:21Speaker 4: Like if you think Fernando's no doubt number one overall pick,
- 23:25Speaker 4: is there that big of a gap?
- 23:27Speaker 5: There could be situation play out where twenty one's too
- 23:30Speaker 5: high for anybody left. We talked about it earlier in
- 23:34Speaker 5: this show. There is in the twenties that's gonna be
- 23:37Speaker 5: filled with guys that have second and third round grades,
- 23:40Speaker 5: just because this draft class is a little it's a
- 23:45Speaker 5: little short of the elite player like they have them,
- 23:49Speaker 5: it's just not the big numbers of them. So you
- 23:51Speaker 5: can make the argument, depending on how the draft goes,
- 23:53Speaker 5: that anybody at twenty one's an overdraft.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I wish I had a chance to see Ty Simpson
- 23:58Speaker 3: at the Senior Bowl. Don't feel like I know it's
- 24:01Speaker 3: about it. I agree, And you can watch tape, you
- 24:03Speaker 3: can watch films. There's just not a lot out there,
- 24:05Speaker 3: so you wish you could get eyes on him to
- 24:07Speaker 3: see what he did Senior Bowl, and like, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 3: we got a chance to obviously see nuts at the
- 24:11Speaker 3: Senior Bowl, and that did him I mean wonders. I mean,
- 24:14Speaker 3: I think that kind of re solidified his standing as
- 24:18Speaker 3: the third quarterback.
- 24:18Speaker 5: In this draft. This is wild, right, Yeah, it's crazy
- 24:22Speaker 5: to think.
- 24:23Speaker 8: I feel like that was kind of the story of
- 24:24Speaker 8: the Senior Bowl too, like how great Garrett Nussmeyer is
- 24:28Speaker 8: and how it was like such a good redemption for
- 24:30Speaker 8: him because of how bad the season was. I mean
- 24:33Speaker 8: to no fault of his own, but I mean it
- 24:37Speaker 8: really was like most of the stuff that I was
- 24:39Speaker 8: hearing out of the Senior Bowl, and maybe it was
- 24:40Speaker 8: because we were there, but like, I feel like it
- 24:42Speaker 8: was all nuts.
- 24:45Speaker 5: And most storylines most people that like elevate themselves so
- 24:49Speaker 5: much during the off season is because they go and
- 24:52Speaker 5: run up four to two or four to three. They
- 24:54Speaker 5: just like they do this freakish thing physically. Well, Garrett
- 24:58Speaker 5: just went and showed would he has shown to everybody
- 25:01Speaker 5: at Sena Bowl. And then the best thing that he
- 25:03Speaker 5: did that his run in a four to two moment
- 25:06Speaker 5: was in front of a microphone at a podium saying
- 25:09Speaker 5: I was hurt.
- 25:09Speaker 8: Right.
- 25:10Speaker 5: That was the best thing that the best advice he
- 25:12Speaker 5: could have got, The best thing he could have done
- 25:15Speaker 5: was to just there's because there's all these question marks
- 25:17Speaker 5: nobody really knew well he answered the question.
- 25:20Speaker 7: He handled all of it really well.
- 25:22Speaker 8: Like whenever it was like the yeah, whenever they were
- 25:25Speaker 8: doing the media portion of it, he came out and
- 25:27Speaker 8: was like, yeah, I was injured. All the follow up
- 25:29Speaker 8: questions like, I feel like he handled himself really well,
- 25:32Speaker 8: which I think also impresses NFL teams and managers and
- 25:37Speaker 8: and such well.
- 25:38Speaker 5: And it's been such a great glow up for him
- 25:40Speaker 5: in the off season because there were times during the
- 25:42Speaker 5: year if he just took his name and his number
- 25:45Speaker 5: off the his jersey and everybody else on LSU's offense
- 25:50Speaker 5: no names. Yeah, Like, that's not a draftable quarterback right there?
- 25:54Speaker 5: Not any again, this is well document, it's not his fault. Yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 5: But how bad the offense it was, how poorly coached
- 26:01Speaker 5: they were everywhere from position group coaches all the way
- 26:05Speaker 5: to the people running it. Yeah, how poor everything was.
- 26:08Speaker 5: And then plus the injury, it's like, that's not that's
- 26:10Speaker 5: a draftable play that here?
- 26:13Speaker 4: You mean you mean that way he was hurt last year,
- 26:17Speaker 4: didn't he didn't just forget how to throw the football.
- 26:21Speaker 4: There's people that believe that not So it's just I
- 26:23Speaker 4: don't know.
- 26:24Speaker 5: That's the thing. You can forget, Yeah, do something?
- 26:30Speaker 2: Oh well he was Maybe he didn't put in the
- 26:32Speaker 2: work in the off season. Did you forget? But you
- 26:35Speaker 2: can't forget how to throw the football.
- 26:37Speaker 5: It's just lazy, you know. Okay, it's lazy kid. Not
- 26:40Speaker 5: a good kid at all, not a fantastic weird or university.
- 26:46Speaker 4: I thought they were just covered for him with the
- 26:48Speaker 4: whole injury thing. It's weird that he was actually heard.
- 26:51Speaker 5: Heard a knee at one point, dude, camp two injuries,
- 26:55Speaker 5: remember l She posted like a picture with the knee
- 26:57Speaker 5: cut off cropped out.
- 26:59Speaker 7: Everybody was like, I.
- 27:00Speaker 5: Told you leg fell off.
- 27:05Speaker 6: It ended up being the ab injury they gat obleak.
- 27:09Speaker 5: I would say, coach has hurt him on purpose. Yeah,
- 27:12Speaker 5: blame it all on them. They're the fall guys.
- 27:16Speaker 7: They are.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Shout out on us, shout out on us. Uh So
- 27:25Speaker 5: Marler's doing the graphic.
- 27:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I asked him last night, you know the draft.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Thursday, we need to do coming up the draft?
- 27:31Speaker 8: Yeah, I texted him last night and this morning he said, yes,
- 27:36Speaker 8: we have it.
- 27:36Speaker 7: I'll send it over when I'm in. I don't know
- 27:39Speaker 7: what time he gets.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Thirty one.
- 27:42Speaker 4: That's that must be nice, as long as we get
- 27:45Speaker 4: it by Thursday Friday week before.
- 27:49Speaker 5: Yeah, just wondering. We gotta get that engagement at Marlar.
- 27:58Speaker 5: People need to see these picks.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, have they got a bet? Nick money?
- 28:08Speaker 5: Did we ever get an overall grade for each of
- 28:10Speaker 5: our picks? Yeah, so I said them in the group chat.
- 28:12Speaker 7: It wasn't overall, but we could only do like team
- 28:14Speaker 7: by teacher.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Yeah, but you can see each pick like I have
- 28:20Speaker 4: each each pick and team in there. Most of them
- 28:23Speaker 4: are pretty good. I mean McDonald got a D. Spencer Fanna,
- 28:27Speaker 4: my pick for the Jets actually got a D and
- 28:30Speaker 4: half of your trade got a D.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Everything else was like that, but the other half got
- 28:34Speaker 2: got a B. Pluz so.
- 28:37Speaker 5: N B deep.
- 28:39Speaker 3: All right, we will step away here, have more O
- 28:44Speaker 3: TV coming back your way when we jump back in

- 30:03Speaker 1: Off the Bench presented by Hoodental.
- 30:14Speaker 11: Last night, I.
- 30:17Speaker 12: Saw us to last started started racing. I knew you too,
- 30:35Speaker 12: and just that thing you were to chat.
- 30:39Speaker 6: Hello, buddy, you were.
- 30:45Speaker 8: I really should shout out to a big mic in
- 30:47Speaker 8: the chat for uh bringing this up.
- 30:49Speaker 7: I should have brought this up. I did the softball
- 30:51Speaker 7: game last night. Jaden Heavener threw a no hitter last night,
- 30:56Speaker 7: complete game.
- 30:57Speaker 6: Guess who U l.
- 31:03Speaker 8: And the last time that they pitched a no hitter
- 31:05Speaker 8: was the last time she pitched a no hitter last
- 31:08Speaker 8: season in her debut.
- 31:11Speaker 5: I'm not gonna say that since we've had coach ten On.
- 31:18Speaker 8: I do want to give I do want to give
- 31:20Speaker 8: LSU softball a little bit of love because I feel
- 31:22Speaker 8: like we've been well me at least a little bit
- 31:25Speaker 8: critical about them, but they have quietly been stacking up
- 31:29Speaker 8: some really really good wins over really good teams and
- 31:34Speaker 8: winning some great series. And the pitching has improved so
- 31:37Speaker 8: much from the beginning of the season to now, and
- 31:40Speaker 8: it's efficient pitching. It's not like I think she only
- 31:43Speaker 8: had two strikeouts in the game last night, but it
- 31:47Speaker 8: was productive because they were.
- 31:50Speaker 7: Hitting ground balls.
- 31:51Speaker 8: I don't I think there's only one pop out to
- 31:53Speaker 8: center field last night and just a well pitched game.
- 31:57Speaker 8: Run rolled them in five innings, eight zero is the
- 32:00Speaker 8: final score there. And there's some girls on there like
- 32:03Speaker 8: Kylie Edwards is red hot right now, and there's some
- 32:07Speaker 8: girls that are really doing really well.
- 32:09Speaker 2: At the plate.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Absolutely. I watched a little bit. What's the kind of
- 32:12Speaker 5: Edwards patting like the five hundred, It's.
- 32:14Speaker 8: Something crazy like that because she is on it. She
- 32:17Speaker 8: had a she's the one that hit for the cycle
- 32:19Speaker 8: last week. So she's red hot and the team's just really,
- 32:25Speaker 8: like I said, stacking up some really good.
- 32:27Speaker 7: Wins right now. Yeah, we talked about it after a
- 32:29Speaker 7: rough start.
- 32:30Speaker 5: Yeah it was. It was a rough start.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Uh, you know that tournament they had down in Florida.
- 32:34Speaker 3: It's like, man, right, you try to regroup, try to
- 32:37Speaker 3: find your way back, and it's been some some ebs
- 32:40Speaker 3: and flows. But you take a game off Oklahoma, you
- 32:43Speaker 3: fight for another game, you lose a series, but you know,
- 32:45Speaker 3: you snap a winning streak they had, and then you
- 32:48Speaker 3: go on the road against Missouri and yeah, you know,
- 32:50Speaker 3: you beat Arizona two out of three, a really good Arizona.
- 32:53Speaker 6: Team and now you know, hit ULLL in the midweek.
- 32:56Speaker 3: So things pointing up and if I'm not mistaken old
- 32:59Speaker 3: miss this week, Yes, it's Tiger Parker.
- 33:01Speaker 8: Yeah, and I was gonna say, like you brought it
- 33:02Speaker 8: up the other day or maybe it was yesterday, that
- 33:05Speaker 8: the rest of the schedule really favors them.
- 33:07Speaker 7: So Ole miss comes into town and then the.
- 33:10Speaker 8: Following actually they're in Mississippi State in Starkville, uh, the
- 33:14Speaker 8: same weekend that LSU baseball travels there. So they'll be
- 33:16Speaker 8: in Starkville next weekend. And after that you have McNeice
- 33:21Speaker 8: at home and then Auburn and then the SEC tournament
- 33:24Speaker 8: after that. So you do have a favorable schedule the
- 33:27Speaker 8: rest of the way out and you have an opportunity
- 33:30Speaker 8: to host a regional also, Daniel, Yeah, she's also she's
- 33:34Speaker 8: on it there.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Every home run she's hitting, it's been in the last week,
- 33:39Speaker 4: all of her home runs on the seat.
- 33:40Speaker 2: She got two of them.
- 33:40Speaker 7: I mean, Jala Lassiter's out here also too.
- 33:43Speaker 8: She had a two home two run home run last
- 33:46Speaker 8: night that put them up five zero in the second.
- 33:48Speaker 8: So yeah, she's the The lineup for LSU softball is
- 33:54Speaker 8: starting a heat up. Let's go Charlea Rerenz had a
- 33:58Speaker 8: home run last night after a good weekend, so shout
- 34:02Speaker 8: out to softball.
- 34:03Speaker 2: That's somebody that's stepped up big too.
- 34:05Speaker 4: Like let Field called, it was a huge question mark
- 34:09Speaker 4: for you for the first third of the season, and
- 34:11Speaker 4: she stepped up huge.
- 34:14Speaker 5: You know.
- 34:15Speaker 3: It's it's kind of different than it has been in
- 34:18Speaker 3: the past, like LSU's softball over the last couple of years, remember,
- 34:21Speaker 3: like undefeated, deep into it and it was like some
- 34:24Speaker 3: really really good wins and then there might be an injury,
- 34:28Speaker 3: there might be this that or the other, whatever, you
- 34:29Speaker 3: kind of trail off a little bit. This has been
- 34:31Speaker 3: the complete opposite of what has been the previous two years.
- 34:34Speaker 6: Yeah, this might be a good thing.
- 34:35Speaker 8: I think so too, because it's kind of like you
- 34:37Speaker 8: said also the other day, is that last season, they
- 34:41Speaker 8: the end of their schedule was rough.
- 34:43Speaker 7: So they started off, like you said.
- 34:45Speaker 8: Undefeated, and then they go on the road to Kentucky
- 34:49Speaker 8: and I think they dropped that series and they just
- 34:52Speaker 8: had a rough schedule toward the end. And here you
- 34:54Speaker 8: started off the Clearwater Invitational.
- 34:58Speaker 7: Was it Clearwater that they're no?
- 34:59Speaker 8: Yeah, right, you're they're at Clearwater Baseball is in Jacksonville.
- 35:03Speaker 8: But the Clearwater Invitational was a tough test, to to
- 35:07Speaker 8: be fair to them, whenever they started the season off
- 35:10Speaker 8: and yeah, just really headed in the right direction for
- 35:13Speaker 8: LSU softball.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Let's go. I got to get the girls out there
- 35:17Speaker 5: to Tiger Park.
- 35:18Speaker 7: You should. Tiger Park's great. They have a berm out there.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I love.
- 35:23Speaker 7: Yeah, Tiger Park is a lot of fun.
- 35:26Speaker 8: I usually try to make my way out there at
- 35:27Speaker 8: least once a season two and I haven't yet.
- 35:30Speaker 7: But it's a great look a. Yeah, it's like the
- 35:39Speaker 7: grassy area.
- 35:40Speaker 6: That's what you sit on like, it's not like stand
- 35:42Speaker 6: just like the.
- 35:43Speaker 2: On small hill.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Small hill, like a mound one sided that it doesn't
- 35:48Speaker 4: go down the other an Indian mound.
- 35:49Speaker 5: We've talked about that on the show before. The dirt
- 35:54Speaker 5: on the berms probably about as old as the dirt
- 35:56Speaker 5: in the mound. Yeah, push it all together. It's just dirt.
- 36:00Speaker 5: It's old. It's old dirt. Yeah, they weren't here for that.
- 36:07Speaker 7: I actually was here for that show.
- 36:09Speaker 8: Like that was like it was maybe my first week
- 36:12Speaker 8: working at Guarantee and I had to come shadow every
- 36:14Speaker 8: single show and I happened to be in here with
- 36:19Speaker 8: Mario and Danny when y'all were doing that, Like I
- 36:23Speaker 8: just so had it was like my first time.
- 36:26Speaker 6: Related and then yeah, oh yeah, we just.
- 36:30Speaker 8: And then t Bob tried to get me to get
- 36:33Speaker 8: on my first time ever being on here. Tried to
- 36:35Speaker 8: get me to come on and tell the people how
- 36:37Speaker 8: I felt about Helen Keller and you were like, no,
- 36:40Speaker 8: we were not doing this.
- 36:42Speaker 7: Jake tried to save me. He's like, this can't be
- 36:46Speaker 7: those first impression though.
- 36:49Speaker 8: I think she's like not blind or death, maybe one
- 36:53Speaker 8: or the other, but you weren't both.
- 36:54Speaker 4: So I'm kind of like halfway. I think she was
- 36:57Speaker 4: blind and deaf. I just don't think she did the
- 36:59Speaker 4: things they say.
- 36:59Speaker 7: She no way, you flew a plane, right.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Like anybody's gonna be like, why was she? She's not
- 37:04Speaker 4: lying about it. I think maybe to make her feel better.
- 37:07Speaker 4: They were like, hey, you flew a plane, Okay, nothing
- 37:10Speaker 4: wrong with that.
- 37:11Speaker 5: It's just.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Maybe not I just like maybe not cover your ears
- 37:20Speaker 4: and close your eyes and imagine.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Doing it feels anything, leave that one to leave you
- 37:28Speaker 3: every years and close your eyes.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Just imagine doing anything.
- 37:34Speaker 5: That's why it's it's why we all get taught the story.
- 37:39Speaker 5: You can do anything. Put your mind too.
- 37:42Speaker 7: Yeah, that's kind of like the point of.
- 37:44Speaker 5: The So we're sorry for all the Helen Killer descendants.
- 37:47Speaker 5: Out there listening to the show.
- 37:49Speaker 7: But I'm not saying I believe it.
