- 2:14Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 154, Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 2:20Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, uh something that listeners may not realize is that we have access to the Vegas Revealed Sky Deck that gives us a very unique vantage point near the strip.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: We do.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: I happen to live in a high-rise, which I think some people know, but not everyone.
- 2:42Dayna Roselli: Um, and I'm always seeing things because I'm not gonna say what floor I'm on for my safety.
- 2:49Sean McAllister: Good.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: But I can see things from my patio that nobody can see unless they're in like a helicopter.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: See, I feel like this could also be confused for one of those Las Vegas UFO hunter kind of people.
- 3:02Sean McAllister: Like, I see things from my balcony.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: Some I kind of stuff.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: Some I don't.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I would prefer to call it the Vegas Revealed Sky Deck.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: Let's do it.
- 3:13Sean McAllister: Wanna just name it that it's fully branded now.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: Well, I did see something the other day that I thought, what the heck is this?
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: And it was right across the street in kind of like the north lot of the Westgate, which is the former Hilton.
- 3:27Sean McAllister: Okay, yeah.
- 3:27Dayna Roselli: You know, iconic hotel casino there, just off the strip on Paradise.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: And I was like, what is this?
- 3:33Dayna Roselli: I took a little video, put it up on social, and people were like, what is it?
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: No one knew, but it was like fantasy land or something.
- 3:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, it kind of looked like neat bubblegum pink trees and then like neon blues and greens of like mushroom, just stuff.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: Like almost like Alice in Wonderland type mushroom-y looking things.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: And at first I thought, well, maybe is this like EDC related?
- 3:59Sean McAllister: Which kind of sounds like ready early, yeah.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I was like, what?
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: And there was like piles and people were sorting through them.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: And I was like, what?
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um, went on the morning blend the other day, and JJ and I were talking about it, and she placed a call over to Gordy, our friend over at the Westgate, and he told us, Well, you broke some news um because it is imaginarium, and we haven't announced it yet, but it's coming this spring, and we're like, imaginarium.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: So we looked it up and we went to imaginarium360.com.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: Um, they've done something similar in the wintertime in Sacramento, California.
- 4:35Dayna Roselli: You can get a look at what it looks like, but it's like this fantasy kind of experience.
- 4:41Dayna Roselli: Um Westgate says it's gonna be outdoors.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: So it could be like really cool.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: It almost seems like uh, you know, some of the holiday things we had this year, except it's gonna be in the spring with kind of a fantasy theme.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:55Sean McAllister: I was just thinking the same thing.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: It was kind of like Enchant, where you're walking through this, you know, crazy display of larger-than-life light up things.
- 5:09unknown: Right.
- 5:10Sean McAllister: But this, yeah, it looks like it's going to look like you're stepping into Alice's Wonderland.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: It does look like that.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, we don't know, you know, I well, we will know because guess what?
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: Skydeck.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: The Vegas Revealed Sky Deck.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: The Vegas Revealed Sky Deck is gonna keep an eye on this.
- 5:25Sean McAllister: It's gonna be peeping in.
- 5:27Dayna Roselli: But um, that's all we really know so far.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: But it looks like it'll be really cool.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: Something new.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: Um, it'll get people over to, you know, the Westgate, because it is just, you know, a road, a block or two off the strip.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: Bring people over there for an experience.
- 5:43Dayna Roselli: People love taking their pictures and their Instagram and their videos.
- 5:46Dayna Roselli: And so I think it'll be really cool.
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: The one that we were looking at online did have things like a beer garden and all sorts of different stuff, but I don't know what parts of that we'll have at our imaginarium.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: Gotcha.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: I'm sure being Las Vegas, we'll probably have at least a couple beer gardens.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: But now I'm wondering, is that gonna keep me up at night?
- 6:05Sean McAllister: No, I feel like it's gonna be more tame.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: Okay, I don't think it's gonna be like a rave kind of situation.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: I think so too.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: Worry not.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: I know.
- 6:13Sean McAllister: Worry not, right?
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: What would Elvis say?
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: That do you think Elvis, you know, because when he was in the building over there, you would have ever thought someday imaginarium's gonna be red outside.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: Is that your Elvis?
- 6:29Dayna Roselli: That was my first try.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: I've never done that before.
- 6:33Sean McAllister: You got to the lip.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: There's room for improvement.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 6:37Dayna Roselli: I'm not getting the Oscar.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: Me and Austin Butler aren't back to back.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: Not yet.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: Not yet.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: But with work, I'm sure it can be done.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: Um, you know, we're talking about uh this attraction that's coming this spring, but it has not felt like spring in Las Vegas at all lately.
- 6:54Sean McAllister: And we had a a nice little surprise from Mother Nature the other day.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: What was that, Monday?
- 7:01Dayna Roselli: I think it was Monday.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Monday.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: A snowfall.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: Now we get like a little bit of snow here and there through the years.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: But like to actually see accumulation on the ground is very, very rare in Las Vegas area.
- 7:14Sean McAllister: And boy, did it happen this week.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: It did, and it was mostly down in what the southeast Henderson area.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Anthem, which is a little bit raised up.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: It's kind of the higher elevated part, I guess, of Henderson.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: Um, but they got some good snow, like some big flakes were coming down.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, I saw people posting online and they were like, these are the biggest, wettest snowflakes I have ever seen in my life.
- 7:39Sean McAllister: And these are people who have not always lived in Las Vegas, they lived in different parts of the country where snow is normal.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: Yes, so true.
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: I happened to be at Channel 13 filling in that day, and I walked by the Justin who does the weather, and I said, Boy, this is like the hardest day you've worked in years.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: There was so much action, you know, because Vegas is usually it's sunny with a breeze.
- 8:00Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: And it's, you know, usually in the 60s and 50s in the winter, and then it gets hotter, 70s, 80s, 90s.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: By the summer, we're at 120.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: But when it rains or when it snows, or when we have a windstorm.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:14Sean McAllister: That's when our meteorologists are they're key, they're clutch.
- 8:18Sean McAllister: They're clutch.
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they are busy.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: But on that note, it's so funny because it look for the pictures, and if you haven't seen them already, they're all over social media.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: Beautiful pictures of the snow in Las Vegas.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Then, of course, there was snow in the mountains the next day.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: Once everything cleared out, you could see the pretty snow-capped mountains.
- 8:35Dayna Roselli: But the funny thing is, then we get a press release from a couple different places saying, hey, pool season starts March 3rd.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: Everybody's ready.
- 8:44Sean McAllister: Going from shovels to bikinis.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: That's how we roll.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: It changes quick.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: Literally, the next day the sun was out and it was like it was.
- 8:51Sean McAllister: It was beautiful.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: Like 58 or 60.
- 8:53Sean McAllister: Chilly, but beautiful.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: I think this weekend is supposed to be in the 60s, too.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: But yeah, uh, a bunch of different pools are having tryouts, they call it.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: Tryouts for their cocktail servers and their staff and um Tau Group, they run a lot of different uh day clubs, pool clubs, ultra pool clubs all around town.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: But they said across the board their pools are opening March 3rd.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: I know, and that's including like the Cosmopolitan, Wet Republic, Liquid Pool at Aria, Tau Beach Club at the Venetian, so they're ready to go.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: Then Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, and uh the new Rouge Cabanas pool over at Red Rock.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: They're hosting a whole bunch of different um uh tryouts, I guess, for pool staff over at Red Rock.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: I think those are actually over.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: They've already had that.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: Um, and then you said Boyd Gaming.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: I believe it was Boyd Gaming that announced that they were doing uh a casting call for their servers and and pool staff.
- 9:56Sean McAllister: And I thought it was funny in the um uh advertisement I saw for it, they said come dressed professionally.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: There you go.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: Because uh there are admittedly some of these auditions where you're supposed to show up in the kind of attire that you might be wearing out at the pool.
- 10:16Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: But these days, you know, that's considered a little like a little taboo.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you know what?
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: I mean, if you're gonna be working at the pool, that's part of the job.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: I mean, I get it.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and maybe you're right.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: Maybe it was auditions, not tryouts that I was thinking of.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: That's the word, that's the word.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: Um, in the past they've called them that.
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but pool auditions is what they're calling it over at Red Rock and Green Valley and Rouge as well.
- 10:38Dayna Roselli: So auditions.
- 10:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, pretty much any casino group that there is in Las Vegas, anyone who has uh a pool that's operating, you know, with a day club, all that, uh those auditions are on.
- 10:53Sean McAllister: Definitely.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: Hey, and side note, I went up to the balloon festival up in Mesquite, Nevada.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: Oh, that's right.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it was beautiful, but that was um also at the right outside the Casablanca resort.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: And I actually went inside the Casablanca for the first time.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: Um, and yeah, it was jamming.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: And they were telling us that whole casino is modeled after the Mirage, which is very similar.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Really?
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was really interesting.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: And if you look at it, it is.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: You know, if you almost feel like you're in the Mirage there for a second.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: Um, but they had a little area where they have like a dance floor and everything right in the middle of the casino.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: They had a breakfast spot, and then I think they have a steakhouse that's really well known and people love, I think it's called Catherine's.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: Um, took a peek at their pool, looked pretty big, and I know they've got some waterfalls um and different things, and they have specials all the time.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: If you want a getaway, it was like about an hour and 10 minutes away.
- 11:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's not bad.
- 11:42Sean McAllister: I've stopped in there a handful of times, and it is, it's always packed.
- 11:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, but they've got great uh I believe they have packages for golf and the spa and right.
- 11:54Sean McAllister: Um, so you can, you know, definitely check out what what they've got down in Mesquite.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, definitely.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: Um, you're right though.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Golf is also something they're really known for.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: We were walking on the golf course to see the balloon.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: Uh a new Mexican restaurant has opened at the forum shops at Caesars Palace.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: We told you this was coming, and I think it's been open for a little bit now, but they're having their big VIP grand opening party.
- 12:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's called Seoul Mexican Cocina.
- 12:22Sean McAllister: Um, they have a handful of other locations in other spots around the country.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: The first one uh that's going to be operating here in Las Vegas, and uh I've been scanning the menu and the street tacos look amazing everything looks phenomenal.
- 12:41Sean McAllister: It does.
- 12:41Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 12:42Sean McAllister: I'm excited about it.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: We're going to the party.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: Here's the deal the podcast is coming out, but we always say we don't like to lie.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: We went to the party on Thursday, but we're recording this on Wednesday, so we haven't actually gone yet.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: But we are looking forward to seeing the food, tasting the food, having some drinks and some tequila.
- 12:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:00Sean McAllister: I think it's gonna be a hot spot.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: I think so too.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: And it's right there near the spiral escalator in the forum shop.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: So really easy to find.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: And that's a lovely area uh with shopping and other restaurants there.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: And it's a Baja Soquel Fair, if you're wondering what kind of Mexican food it is.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: Um, so like you said, you know, street tacos and different things like that.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: Uh, we look forward to that.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: When we're there, we are going to also be accompanied by Heather Gay of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and then also Audrina Patridge from The Hills New Beginning.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: She's gonna be there too.
- 13:39Sean McAllister: I used to love the Hills, me too.
- 13:41Sean McAllister: I don't think I ever missed an episode.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: I agree.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: I loved it, and Laguna Beach before that.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: And I'll admit, every now and then I go down the Spencer Pratt rabbit hole on TikTok because he's always on there now.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: And I like can't get over the fact that you know it's been so long since the Hills, and it's like Spencer and Heidi and they're still together.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they're still together.
- 14:03Dayna Roselli: Um, gosh, back in the day when I worked for Life and Style magazine, they were the hot that whole Hills crew.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I had to spy on them all the time.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: So that was my job for$200 a night.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: Anyway, yeah, I look forward to seeing Audrina.
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: She's really done well for herself.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: I'm glad.
- 14:20Sean McAllister: She has.
- 14:21Sean McAllister: And it'll be fun to hang out with Heather Gay from the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
- 14:27Sean McAllister: Of course, this is part of the Big Housewives franchise on the Bravo network.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: Um, and Heather is also just out with a new book called Bad Mormon.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: And Sean, I know you watch Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, and you were saying for you, Heather's really kind of the standout in that cast, right?
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: The one that you respect the most, like the most, the most real.
- 14:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, I feel like she is the most real.
- 14:52Sean McAllister: I relate with her responses to things a little more than I do with some of the others.
- 14:59Sean McAllister: Um and so I think it's not surprising that she came out.
- 15:03Sean McAllister: This is a memoir, and it, you know, chronicles her journey from, you know, growing up within the the Mormon faith and then the uh things she encountered along the way that ultimately led to her, you know, stepping away from the church.
- 15:18Sean McAllister: And that's what this is all about.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: Well, we had a great conversation with Heather.
- 15:24Dayna Roselli: I really liked her too, even though I haven't seen the show.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: Loved our conversation.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: So we talk about the book.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: She's on her way uh here to do a book signing, and then also she's gonna be at the Soul Cosina opening, as we said, and then we also talk to her about her kind of ties to Las Vegas because she has quite a quite a history here.
- 15:48Sean McAllister: Heather, great to see you.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, hi, thank you for having me.
- 15:52Dayna Roselli: We love having you on, and we know that you love Las Vegas too, so we'll get to that in a little bit.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: The podcast is Vegas Revealed.
- 15:59Sean McAllister: We reveal a lot of what goes on here in Las Vegas, but you're revealing a lot of what goes on in the Mormon church and society surrounding everything in your new book, Bad Mormon.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: I know that you had reservations about doing it, worried about the consequences of family, friends, even the church.
- 16:19Sean McAllister: Do you still have uh reservations or worries now that the book is in people's hands?
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Yes, like even more so now because you know the book has a lot of juicy details.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: If that's the kind of things that I always vowed that I would, you know, hold sacred, but I no longer hold them sacred and I revealed those secrets.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: So I think the fallout is just beginning.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm I'm curious how it's gonna affect my daily life in my community because this is the world I live in.
- 16:51Dayna Roselli: Well, I'm already starting, you know, I flip through, I go down the rabbit hole hole of uh TikTok sometimes, and I see a lot of uh TikToks, you know, and trends of Mormons showing kind of some of the rules that they break or and dispelling some of the myths or telling why they do this.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: I mean, so it's definitely something that's being talked about more.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that a lot of the social activism has kind of pushed the conversation forward, you know, it's a younger generation now, they're not willing to really just accept the status quo.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: They're forcing transparency on their churches.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: And if especially if you're giving 10% of your income, you can't have you can't align yourself with doctrine or policies that are bigoted and racist and you know, homophobic.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: It's just it it doesn't it doesn't work, and so it's forcing a huge purge in the Mormon church.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: You know, there's an exodus going on right now, and I feel like bad Mormon and the people that are resonating with it are kind of that counterculture that's emerging as a result, which is for me, you know, is fascinating because I always felt totally alone in my doubts, in my sins, in my inability to make it work.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: And now to know that there's you know throngs of us and we're growing in number, and you can see that community on TikTok and Instagram, I'm hoping that Bad Mormon is the Bible that brings us all together and we can, you know, really activate change and do some good.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Mormons are great at service, you know.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Let's let's get all the bad Mormons together and see how we can change the world.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Well, and and you're coming to Las Vegas for a book signing.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: And I know when people have book signings, you know, a lot of times when it's a fictional book, you love to hear how people like the book and stuff.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: But this is going to be a very personal moment for you because you're gonna see people face to face who have read your book and are going to talk to you.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: So um, are you looking forward to this?
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: Listen, I leave these book signings, I'm sure, with a thousand new best friends.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: I give out my number, we cry, we hug, we're embrace, you know, it's it's like a community.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: We know what it feels like to be seen, especially when we've been rejected by everyone that we loved and that defined us for the most of our life, you know, and it's it can be lonely and it can be shameful.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: And so I think that those emotional connections of just finding our own and finding strength in numbers is what I look forward to about meeting people that have read the book and resonated with it.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: And that book signing is uh coming up February 10th at uh the Beverly Theater, the brand new Beverly Theater.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: Do you have a long history with coming to Las Vegas, Heather?
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: Yes, I as bad bad Mormon, we used to take the uh voyage from Provo to Vegas, plus Howard Hughes and my ex-husband's grandfather, you know, helped run the Frontier Hotel.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: We have Vegas ties that go deep back to Steve Wynne.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: And then my uncle was the mayor of North Las Vegas.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: So I love Vegas.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: It is a bad Mormon's heaven on earth, and I can't wait to get back there.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: Well, and so what are some of the things you like to do when you come to Las Vegas?
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: So this is a podcast called Vegas Revealed.
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: So we need you to reveal some of your favorites.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, well, you will find me at the Pie Gao table.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: I will play all night.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: I call it a slow burn because you never really leave with money, but you can play all night long.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: And I love blackjack, and I'm I tend to always bet on black 29 on roulette at least once a night.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: You'll find me in the casinos and at the shows.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: Perfect.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: I love the pie gap, stretching it out.
- 20:26Sean McAllister: And what about the spas?
- 20:28Sean McAllister: Do you love do you like the the spa experience in Las Vegas?
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: You know, you would you would think that I'm a spa girl, but I'm much more into um gambling and drinking than I am into self-care.
- 20:40Sean McAllister: Listen, sister, I'm right there with you.
- 20:42Sean McAllister: Sing me a spa at the table.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I will.
- 20:45Dayna Roselli: Drinks on me.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: Definitely.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna see you at a restaurant opening actually here in Las Vegas at the forum shops at Seoul.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: So we're excited you're gonna be at that too.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: Uh kind of embracing Las Vegas while you're here for the book signing.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: That's gonna be our pregame for the book signing.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: So I plan on enjoying that.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm excited to come and be there.
- 21:04Sean McAllister: Well, we're excited to uh congratulations on the book and for being so extremely honest and vulnerable in writing it.
- 21:15Sean McAllister: I think it really is going to help a lot of people who have the same feelings as you and who have gone through the similar situations.
- 21:24unknown: Yeah.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: That means a lot.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: Thank you, Heather, for joining us.
- 21:28Dayna Roselli: And we'll see you out and about in Las Vegas.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Yes, Vegas revealed with Heather Gay.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: Can't wait.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: And we had a great conversation with Heather after the interview, too.
- 21:38Dayna Roselli: And we said, you know what?
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: Well, we'll talk about this when we see you over at the restaurant opening.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, we're gonna have a lot of hot goss.
- 21:44Sean McAllister: All that hot gossip.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: Tea.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: We're gonna spill the tea.
- 21:47Dayna Roselli: Isn't that what the kids say these days?
- 21:49Sean McAllister: We're spilling the tea, getting all the dirt.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: Um, no, Heather was great.
- 21:54Sean McAllister: We appreciate uh her time.
- 21:56Sean McAllister: And if you want to see the full version uh of our interview.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: With Heather Gay, you can go to the Vegas Revealed channel on YouTube and see that full interview up there.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's a little bit longer than the one that we inserted here, too.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: So if you want to know more, hear more, especially about the book, you can watch that.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: Hey, the Jacksons are coming back to Las Vegas.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: I'm excited about this one.
- 22:20Sean McAllister: How about that?
- 22:21Sean McAllister: I mean, I remember a time when any of the Jacksons could have been performing on stage at any given time here in Las Vegas.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: Right.
- 22:32Sean McAllister: And I feel like it's been a minute.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: It has.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: I remember going to their show over at was it Planet Hollywood?
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think in the old Peep Show Theater, which is Oh yeah.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: What is even in there now?
- 22:43Sean McAllister: Uh that is Chris Angel.
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: Is it Chris Angels Theater?
- 22:46Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, you're right.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: Okay, yeah.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: Duh.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: Yes, you're right.
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: Of course.
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: So it was in the Chris Angel Theater before Chris was in there.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: They did like a two-day thing or something like that.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: Um, and I saw it.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: It was good.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: Um, I don't think I think there were, let's see, this one's gonna have Tito, Jackie, and Marlin.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: Um, they're coming to the Pearl Concert Theater over at the Palms, and that is on April 1st.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: But I think maybe there was one more in the it was a Jackson four when they went to Hollywood.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: Um, but now we've got the Jackson III.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: No, but three of the original members.
- 23:24Dayna Roselli: So they, you know, they put on quite a show.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: They sound great.
- 23:28Dayna Roselli: If you want to be entertained, I just love the Jacksons music.
- 23:31Sean McAllister: It it's so good.
- 23:33Sean McAllister: It really is, especially like from the early days, like the Jackson 5 kind of stuff.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: You know, that's gonna bring back memories.
- 23:40Sean McAllister: And of course, you know, they all grew up performing, so they put on one heck of a show.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it does say because some people always wonder, are they gonna try and sing new stuff?
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: No, it says the performance will include all of their mega hits made famous with their brother Michael Jackson.
- 23:55Sean McAllister: So it's the stuff you want to hear.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: It is.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, we love that.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, welcome back, the Jacksons.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: Uh, we have an all-new casino opening on Fremont Street.
- 24:05Sean McAllister: You know, you think of Fremont Street, you think the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas, down by the Golden Nugget and the Plaza and Circa, uh, the D, all those casinos and you know, restaurants down in that uh district of downtown.
- 24:22Sean McAllister: Um, this is a little bit further east, though.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's called the Wildfire Casino, and it's a stations casino.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: Smaller, you know, and the thing is, is we wanted to let people know because we also know that we have a big culture here that when a casino opens, people line up outside because they want to be the first to play like a machine.
- 24:42Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: So FYI heads up, everyone.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: Friday, February 10th, you have some leeway at 12 p.m.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: The wildfire casino on Fremont is going to open its doors for the first time.
- 24:57Sean McAllister: I mean, that's exciting.
- 24:58Sean McAllister: Anytime, uh I mean, those wildfire casinos are are great for the local crowd.
- 25:05Sean McAllister: And there's gonna be something like 200 of the latest slot machines on the gaming floor there, which is gonna be terrific.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: There's also uh some dining spots.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: They have iHop, they have Taco's El Pastor, which is gonna be good.
- 25:22Sean McAllister: Um, I mean, you could eat iHop any time of day, even though it's technically a breakfast spot.
- 25:28Sean McAllister: That's kind of one of those places where you can sit down and find something comforting immediately.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: Sometimes when the morning turns into the afternoon and the afternoon turns into night, you want a stack of pancakes after that.
- 25:39Sean McAllister: And then night turns right back into morning.
- 25:41Sean McAllister: Crazy how that works, isn't it?
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they're gonna have uh, like you mentioned, uh some good gaming there, bar top gaming as well, electronic table games.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: You can enjoy heightened gaming and sports viewing over at the STN Sportsbook, and you can earn points with that Station Casinos boarding pass if you have one of those already, too.
- 26:00Sean McAllister: I've got one.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: All right, there you go.
- 26:02Sean McAllister: Ready to be used at the all-new Wildfire Casino on Fremont.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips now.
- 26:12Sean McAllister: So, you know, Dana, I'm not generally a big Valentine's Day person.
- 26:18Sean McAllister: I don't tend to like go overboard with it.
- 26:21Sean McAllister: Usually Shane and I, we you know, cook a nice dinner at home and like just have a nice evening at home.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: It's like an excuse to do that.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: Like, but nothing like too crazy.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: Nothing crazy.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: Um, I don't celebrate at all uh uh in the last 15 years.
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: Do you know though?
- 26:43Dayna Roselli: I have a quick story.
- 26:44Dayna Roselli: One time I dated a guy who get this on Valentine's Day, didn't get me anything, like not a card, not a flower, nothing.
- 26:53Sean McAllister: Was it even mentioned?
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: It was like mentioned, like, oh, I guess we should probably do something for Valentine's Day.
- 26:59Sean McAllister: Oh, but it wasn't like happy Valentine's Day, and then it was so glad that we're together.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: No.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: You bring so much into my life.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: No, and then he was like, let's meet at this Korean barbecue spot where you have to like cook your own food in front of you.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: And I thought, this, I'm not cooking on Valentine's Day.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: Then he was like, Oh, I'll do it.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: So anyway, I got him a really nice tie from Tiffany's.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: I mean, there's nothing more romantic than tossing a slab of raw meat on a hot rock.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: All right, this is not part of the tips.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: Maybe it's part of the tips that you should at least acknowledge Valentine's Day, like Sean and Shane do.
- 27:37Sean McAllister: Acknowledge it, absolutely.
- 27:39Sean McAllister: But I was going to say the Valentine's Day attraction that we're talking about today, I actually will go and do.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I would too.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: You know why?
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: Because it's fun and it's really pretty.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: We talk about Ethel M Cactus Garden often during the holidays, like and we're we mean like Christmas time.
- 27:58Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, and they have a beautiful lit-up garden uh with all the holiday light, and it's wonderful to walk through and take pictures, but they also do something that has returned, and it's during Valentine's Day, and it's called Lights of Love, and it's over at Ethel M.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: They light up the cactus garden with Valentine themed kind of things, and there's Instagrammable moments apparently in there, like you could take a picture with like a big heart candy box and things like that.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: And so it's adorable.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: If you want, that's over in Henderson, it's off the strip, but not a very far drive.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Not too quick.
- 28:35Sean McAllister: It's pretty easy to get there, like 15 minutes, maybe.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah, with the lights and all that.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: Yep, but they have a great chocolate shop too, and they do wine and chocolate pairings, they have cute gift boxes, you name it.
- 28:47Sean McAllister: And that was one of the things that I was going to say.
- 28:50Sean McAllister: I didn't realize until kind of a more recent trip over there.
- 28:55Sean McAllister: Uh, we saw this chocolate tasting room over to the side as we were walking in, and they were doing chocolate and wine pairings.
- 29:03Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 29:03Sean McAllister: And you get this flight of wines, and I believe you get to choose like certain chocolates, and then it pairs with, you know, the different wines that they have.
- 29:13Sean McAllister: Um, or it may be a predetermined menu.
- 29:16Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: You can look it up and get all the details.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: Um, but I was like, oh my gosh.
- 29:22Sean McAllister: I we've been wanting to go back and do that, and we haven't done it yet.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: And maybe that'll be a good thing to do around Valentine's Day.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: That that would be great.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, they do, they do, they also have limited, um, limited edition chocolates around Valentine's Day, too.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: Um, and they recently came on a program I was filling in and they brought in a bananas foster chocolate and a blood orange.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: But uh the woman was saying they kind of sell out quick.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: So I bet.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: But the bananas foster one I popped in my mouth.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: It was it was like bananas bursting in your mouth with chocolate.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: It was so good.
- 30:00Sean McAllister: I mean, their gourmet chocolates are top-notch, and they have like the peanut butter filled.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: Oh, I love it.
- 30:07Dayna Roselli: That's making these so free right now.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: And I'm not generally a sweets person either.
- 30:13Dayna Roselli: No, but we both love peanut butter when you mix that with anything.
- 30:15Sean McAllister: Oh man, so good.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: Um, but they also pointed out, and I, you know, I was like, you know what?
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: You go to a lot of chocolate places and you don't know when they put the boxes together, right?
- 30:25Dayna Roselli: But at the M, since they're making the chocolate there and they have the shop on site, they actually these boxes that you're buying, it's like fresh chocolate, and they actually have a little sticker on some of them with the like the date that it was, you know, made and boxed in.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: And you can also choose.
- 30:40Dayna Roselli: There are um like boxes of chocolate where you can pick what kinds you want in there and they'll put it together for you.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: Right.
- 30:46Sean McAllister: They have the big case.
- 30:47Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 30:47Sean McAllister: It's a display case with all the different varieties.
- 30:50Sean McAllister: Right.
- 30:50Sean McAllister: Because there's some people choose your own.
- 30:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they don't like some people don't like those centers or they they prefer peanuts and peanut butter, or they prefer the, you know, oh, even their clusters, like the clusters of peanuts with the chocolate over top.
- 31:03Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 31:03Sean McAllister: So good.
- 31:04Sean McAllister: They're coconut.
- 31:05Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen to all the things we're talking about.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: It is a great spot to go for a couple hours here in Las Vegas.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: They've got the shop, they've got the cactus garden, um, they got the factory.
- 31:15Dayna Roselli: So go go take it in.
- 31:16Sean McAllister: And uh, as we move into a warmer season, they also have uh an ice cream uh cooler in there.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: So it's like hand scooped ice cream and I believe they do milkshakes too.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 31:29Dayna Roselli: And I think they're doing hot chocolate for the cactus garden too, which makes sense.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: Chocolate hot.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Ethel M.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: Way to stay on brand, Ethel.
- 31:39Dayna Roselli: But uh before Valentine's Day, there's a big game happening.
- 31:43Sean McAllister: There is the Super Bowl is coming up, it's one of the busiest times of year here in Las Vegas.
- 31:50Sean McAllister: People come in, make a multi-day event out of it.
- 31:55Sean McAllister: I know we usually have friends who come into town, and you know, we end up usually at a casino watch party.
- 32:02Sean McAllister: Um, but there is so much happening.
- 32:06Dayna Roselli: So we can't mention all of it.
- 32:07Dayna Roselli: There's just no way too much.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 32:09Dayna Roselli: One thing we do want to say is pretty much every hotel casino is having something.
- 32:14Dayna Roselli: So if you are interested, you have a favorite, go to their website, pop down there, plan ahead for sure, because they fill up quick, but figure out what you want to do.
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: The options are endless.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: They are, but we did want to mention just a couple standouts in our minds, maybe some places that might not immediately come to mind if you're thinking about uh watching the big game.
- 32:41Sean McAllister: U Container Park is a really unique area.
- 32:46Sean McAllister: Um, and that'll make for some good outdoor viewing of the game.
- 32:51Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 32:51Dayna Roselli: And I think that I read that they're doing some some different kinds of like beer tasting and outdoor stuff.
- 32:57Dayna Roselli: So that that you're right, that's kind of an outdoor option and usually Super Bowl weekend.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: It's usually pretty nice here, like in the six in the 60s, yeah, usually sunny.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go do an outdoor Vegas thing, downtown Container Park is definitely a cool spot as well.
- 33:13Sean McAllister: Also, downtown, I believe the downtown Las Vegas Event Center is doing a huge watch party.
- 33:20Sean McAllister: Of course, that's all kind of in conjunction with the D and Circa and all that.
- 33:25Sean McAllister: That's a great spot.
- 33:26Sean McAllister: It really is, and they know how to use that space and turn it into a party.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, that's for sure.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: Then there's always stadium swim over at Circa, too, which is somewhat new to town.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: So we forget like that is part of our sports viewing culture now over there.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: Um, it's a top-notch spot, and it's really very vague because there's a pool, and a lot of cities don't get to be by the pool during the Super Bowl.
- 33:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, but Derek Stevens has a bunch of heated pools up there.
- 33:55Sean McAllister: He sure does.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: And get ready to have a cocktail or two or three or four or five because they like to get their drink on.
- 34:03Dayna Roselli: Um, I thought this was worth mentioning that the Mirage Hotel and Casino is having something because we don't know how long it's actually going to be called the Mirage, right?
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: They're going to start making these renovations and changeover to the hard rock.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: So this could be the last year you get to go watch the big game at the Mirage.
- 34:22Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 34:22Sean McAllister: And even though it's already changed ownership, um, you're gonna want to get those cocktail napkins, a little matchbooks, anything that says Mirage on it, because it's gonna be a collector's item soon.
- 34:34Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: I bet there's a lot of people over there that are walking around and like being like, honey, open your purse, stick this in your purse.
- 34:41Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: One of those moments.
- 34:44Dayna Roselli: Take this, no one will notice.
- 34:47Dayna Roselli: All the mementos, the Vegas mementos that you want to sell later on eBay or just have, you know, just have in your presence, I guess.
- 34:55Sean McAllister: We don't condone that.
- 34:56Sean McAllister: We're just saying, you know, it probably happens quite a bit.
- 34:59Dayna Roselli: But yeah, they're doing all sorts of stuff at all the different um restaurants that they have and sportsbook over there at the Mirage.
- 35:06Dayna Roselli: Sportsbook is doing a big thing, Rum Bar, the Heritage Steak, Diablo's Cantina.
- 35:11Dayna Roselli: They're doing all different packages at the sportsbook, too.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: So check it out.
- 35:15Dayna Roselli: Again, look into the Mirage if you want to go watch the big game, get all the information from them.
- 35:21Dayna Roselli: It's too long to list, and uh, but it could be something if you want to go have a one last shebang.
- 35:27Sean McAllister: And also over at Hera's walk-on's sports bistro is, I mean, a massive dining and sports viewing venue over there.
- 35:40Sean McAllister: So, you know, keep them in mind if you're looking for a spot to hunker down and watch some football.
- 35:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and that's over, I guess, on the mezzanine level, um, to kind of explain.
- 35:50Dayna Roselli: I think when you as soon as you leave the parking garage area, it's there.
- 35:53Dayna Roselli: They got big uh TVs, and and just so you know, when it comes to the menu, it's Louisiana inspired food.
- 36:01Dayna Roselli: That's why they call it Bistro, but it's spelled B-I-S-T-R-E-A-U-X.
- 36:06Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 36:08Dayna Roselli: Very New Orleans.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: I guess.
- 36:12Dayna Roselli: Very Mardi Gras, very Louisiana.
- 36:14Dayna Roselli: I don't know what that is, but I like the X on the end.
- 36:17Dayna Roselli: It kind of seems like very Vegas, like X-rated.
- 36:20Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 36:21Sean McAllister: It's unusual, exciting, titillating, even.

- 36:42Dayna Roselli: Um, and then there's all different kinds of bets you can make, you know, even the color of the Gatorade and all that kind of thing.
- 36:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, there are always cries of victory, defeat, complete financial ruin.
- 36:57Dayna Roselli: Financial ruin.

- 38:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, or his like leisure fitness.
- 39:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, like you can uh take fitness classes with trainers from Tom Brady's fitness business.
- 39:08Dayna Roselli: Well, that would be great.
- 39:09Dayna Roselli: I would go over there to do one of those um soul cycle classes if it was being taught by Tom Brady.
- 39:14Sean McAllister: Well, hey, you never know.
- 39:16Dayna Roselli: I think he should do one.

- 39:22Dayna Roselli: I thought this was gonna be my year because he was gonna come play for the Raiders.
- 39:26Dayna Roselli: And then he retired.
- 39:27Sean McAllister: But so it's the two toms that you want to meet.
