The St. Louis Blues are sending 19-year-old forward Milton Gastrin to Sweden, where he’ll play for Brynäs IF in the SHL to gain more ice time. Acquired in a recent trade from the Capitals, Gastrin already has professional experience — 24 points in 39 SHL games last season, plus 4 in the playoffs. He’ll return to North America after the Swedish season ends, potentially joining the Blues or their AHL affiliate, Springfield Thunderbirds — a key developmental step for a player originally drafted by the Capitals in 2025.
