- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody,
- 0:07Speaker 1: y'all listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 0:10Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey man oh man got a
- 0:13Speaker 1: radio show. Yeah, I do. God so big to me, Man,
- 0:17Speaker 1: I just have to tell you about it. I can't
- 0:19Speaker 1: help it. It's rather obvious to me how big, how
- 0:23Speaker 1: good God is. He's absolutely tremendous. He's off the chain.
- 0:29Speaker 1: He owned one, he'd be clowning, he'd be just showing out. Man.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm just over here, just on the receiving end. You know,
- 0:39Speaker 1: if you're out there, start your mission today, Start your
- 0:45Speaker 1: mission today? What are you waiting for? Why do we
- 0:51Speaker 1: as people delay what we want or delay the process
- 0:59Speaker 1: to begin what we want our hopes, our dreams, our desires.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Why won't you start your mission today? Why don't we
- 1:09Speaker 1: all decide together that just individually? Look you listening, you
- 1:15Speaker 1: got something that you've been dreaming about. You got an
- 1:18Speaker 1: ambition of yours that's not yet fulfilled. You got goals
- 1:22Speaker 1: you haven't accomplished yet. Everybody has them. Everybody's got them.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Everybody's got something that's on the table that they haven't
- 1:31Speaker 1: yet attacked yet. What are you waiting for start your
- 1:34Speaker 1: mission today. Stop the procrastination. Now. The procrastination is only
- 1:40Speaker 1: hurting you yourself. If you got a goal of aspiration
- 1:45Speaker 1: to dream and you fall off track momentarily, you can
- 1:49Speaker 1: get back to that because God knows where you left off. Now.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You may have to accomplish a few more things since
- 1:56Speaker 1: you stopped for a long period of time, but God
- 1:58Speaker 1: knows where you left off, and get back on track.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I look, man, this dream of being on TV since
- 2:04Speaker 1: I was a kid, and it got off track. Now
- 2:07Speaker 1: it got off track. I just kept it as one
- 2:10Speaker 1: of the dreams. And in some real dog moments when
- 2:13Speaker 1: it looked like it wasn't gonna happen, all I was
- 2:17Speaker 1: hanging on to was just the hope that one day
- 2:19Speaker 1: it could. But that's what faith is really about. Faith
- 2:23Speaker 1: is the belief in things that you cannot see. But
- 2:27Speaker 1: faith gives you the confidence to keep hoping. Man, Sometimes
- 2:31Speaker 1: it just keep hope alive. Sometimes you heard Jesse Jackson
- 2:35Speaker 1: say it just keep hope alive. Sometimes, man, it's just
- 2:38Speaker 1: the hope. I was hanging on a hope, and I'm
- 2:43Speaker 1: talking about when it got real ugly and funky out
- 2:46Speaker 1: there for me, when it looked like I wasn't gonna
- 2:48Speaker 1: ever make it, and all of the facts was in
- 2:52Speaker 1: and everything pointed in the direction you not gonna make it.
- 2:55Speaker 1: You done really messed up this time. Then I sat
- 2:58Speaker 1: there and I just hung on to the hope. But man,
- 3:03Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. If you got a dream on
- 3:05Speaker 1: aspiration of vision or something, when you fall off track
- 3:10Speaker 1: and you want to go get back in line, God
- 3:12Speaker 1: holds your place. See. He held on to that for me.
- 3:16Speaker 1: He knew I was off tracking, out of line, but
- 3:19Speaker 1: he said, okay, here's where we stopped. You want to
- 3:21Speaker 1: be on TV. Now, when you get it together and
- 3:24Speaker 1: you quit tripping and you come and your turn to me,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna hold your place, put you back in line.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Then we're gonna finish the journey. That took me a
- 3:30Speaker 1: lot longer to get here than I wanted to. But
- 3:33Speaker 1: then it was necessary because I needed all of them
- 3:35Speaker 1: mishaps to happen to me along the way. So when
- 3:38Speaker 1: I got on the radio one day, which I did
- 3:40Speaker 1: not see coming, Steve Harvey got a radio show, y'all.
- 3:43Speaker 1: That's why I say it every day. See, because of
- 3:45Speaker 1: this radio show that I didn't see coming. Now I
- 3:48Speaker 1: have stories to tell. I got experiences to share, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: I can tell you about me better I can tell
- 3:55Speaker 1: you about anybody. And I done been through enough whereas relatable,
- 4:00Speaker 1: where enough people can go mad. That happened to me.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Appreciate you saying that that's what it was for. See,
- 4:06Speaker 1: I get it now. See at the time, though I
- 4:09Speaker 1: didn't like what was happening to me. At the time,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I was really in total disagreement with God on a
- 4:14Speaker 1: lot of stuff he was pulling off on me. But
- 4:17Speaker 1: in essence I was really pulling it off on myself.
- 4:20Speaker 1: But through his grace and mercy, he kept me through
- 4:22Speaker 1: all of my mistakes, all my bad decisions, all my miscalculations,
- 4:27Speaker 1: all my misfires, all the times I knowingly stepped out
- 4:32Speaker 1: there and did wrong. He forgave me, He said, because man,
- 4:36Speaker 1: if you ever come to me, I have a plan
- 4:40Speaker 1: for you that is going to be far and above.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It will supersede everything you've ever dreamed of. That's what
- 4:47Speaker 1: I did. I just got sick of me, good and
- 4:51Speaker 1: sick of me, and I turned it over to God.
- 4:54Speaker 1: And then God started working And here I am today
- 4:58Speaker 1: now He threw it me. Yet no have I arrived yet. Nope,
- 5:03Speaker 1: But guess what the journey is cool. You know, it's
- 5:07Speaker 1: like I was talking to this young brother the other
- 5:09Speaker 1: day about comedy, and he's a really good stand up.
- 5:13Speaker 1: You know, this young dude is really good. He said, Man,
- 5:16Speaker 1: what is this I feel every night before I go
- 5:19Speaker 1: on stage. I don't know what it is. I just
- 5:22Speaker 1: want it off me. I said, sir, listen to me,
- 5:25Speaker 1: you young dude. This thing that climbs on my back
- 5:29Speaker 1: every night before I go on stage. I don't know
- 5:31Speaker 1: what it is. It's got something to do with pressure.
- 5:35Speaker 1: It's got something to do with anticipation. It's got a
- 5:38Speaker 1: whole lot to do with the fear of falling. He said,
- 5:40Speaker 1: what you mean by that? I say, every night I
- 5:43Speaker 1: walk out on stage, it's like I'm about to go
- 5:45Speaker 1: and step off of cliff. I say, it's a sickening feeling.
- 5:49Speaker 1: He said, man, but you do so well. I said,
- 5:52Speaker 1: that's because the parachute opens. I say, but I want
- 5:55Speaker 1: you to understand something. When I first walk out there,
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's just stepping off the cliff. Now, these jokes provide
- 6:02Speaker 1: a parachute which slows my descent when I jump off
- 6:07Speaker 1: the cliff. And I turned it into a glide, and
- 6:10Speaker 1: then I take the audience this way, and I swung
- 6:12Speaker 1: them back over there that way. We might swing out
- 6:15Speaker 1: to the Colorado Rockies. We may go down to Miami
- 6:18Speaker 1: with this joke. We may take it on out to
- 6:20Speaker 1: la and I just swing back and forth till I
- 6:23Speaker 1: land softly. The crowd cheers. The night is over with,
- 6:27Speaker 1: I said, but it's been too many nights though. When
- 6:29Speaker 1: I walked off that cliff and I pulled the cord
- 6:32Speaker 1: and the parachute didn't open, I said, naw, I'm just
- 6:35Speaker 1: free falling out there for thirty minutes. Ain't no jokes working,
- 6:38Speaker 1: Ain't the parachute didn't open. I said, So see that's
- 6:42Speaker 1: what it's like for me. And then you know what
- 6:44Speaker 1: I found out. If you done walked off the cliff
- 6:47Speaker 1: in life and you ain't got no guard in your life,
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's like not having a parachute. You step off the
- 6:54Speaker 1: cliff and you just free falling. Now see we all
- 6:59Speaker 1: now that fog. You closer to the grave, right see,
- 7:01Speaker 1: we all heading to the grave from the moment we're born.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But the cool thing about a relationship with God is
- 7:07Speaker 1: when you step off the cliff and you got God
- 7:10Speaker 1: here a parachute. You still going down, but it's a
- 7:13Speaker 1: nice ride. And God just helps your descent appear more
- 7:18Speaker 1: like a rise and the more like a euphoric fall,
- 7:22Speaker 1: instead of not having no God in your life and
- 7:25Speaker 1: you just walking off that cliff every day, free falling.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Ain't got no cord, you steady pulling, you, hollering the
- 7:32Speaker 1: whole way because you to mess around with yourself, and
- 7:35Speaker 1: ain't let God come into your life and provide a
- 7:37Speaker 1: parachute for you. I would rather have a parachute since
- 7:41Speaker 1: I got to jump every day than to not have one.
- 7:45Speaker 1: God has been like a parachute for me. Ask me
- 7:49Speaker 1: why where that came from? I can't tell you, But
- 7:52Speaker 1: like I always say, most good things that happen in
- 7:55Speaker 1: my life that I can't explain is usually him. You're
- 7:58Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
