Ray: What's going on with you, man? Good to see you, bro. JonBE aka DJ Chill: That's good to be seen, man. I I ain't gonna lie, I felt some type of way about last week. It really threw me off. I was Ray: yay. JonBE aka DJ Chill: unprepared for what was happening. And I couldn't even pivot. It was nothing I could do. But I'm just glad to be back in the saddle. We already got people popping up. What's going on? what up, D? What's going on, my guy? What's going on, baby? We back. We back like we never left. So Ray, what's going on with you? Anything good? What's happening? Ray: Nah man, I was just ready to party man. Based on last week man, like you said, it was a curve ball so we was ready for that episode and we had some behind the scenes stuff going on so just ready to get to it, bruh. JonBE aka DJ Chill: All right, let's quit waste of time. Let's get into some entertainment. I'm gonna get to the drop. Are you not entertained? This is where we talk about everything under the sun that's entertainment from music to movies, all of those things that we enjoy and we can debate about because it is something that is a broad horizon of just everybody being able to chime in. So this week, I picked a couple subjects that I want to talk about, and I'm a big fan of of putting things together and making them work. I it just is something about that. So I talked to the guys and I said, Hey, I want you both to give me four hip hop artists that you would love to put together. That's that's the wife showing love. What's happening? Ray: you JonBE aka DJ Chill: four hip hop artists that you would bring together to be a super group. Now you could pick any artist, any genre, but this is your super group of artists. And I'm gonna throw a curveball last minute on my Tommy from what's that? Love is blind. What's that? Not Love is Blind. What's that show that they was on when they all all the black singles with Tommy? whatever, I'll figure it out. I want you to actually name the group. You gotta give me a name for your group now. I figured I'd make it interesting. I didn't tell you that in the beginning. I saw I'm just gonna we're gonna split up. So Ray, since you're here, you're first up the bat, I want you to give me, I'm gonna bring name all your guys, I'm gonna bring them up, and I want you to give me what you would name your supergroup. Ray: The name is tough. You kind of sprung that on me. I gotta come up with a good name, a JonBE aka DJ Chill: I know, I know. St give me something off the hip. Ray: group that I would put together just based on what I listen to the most and what I prefer to listen to is laid back, summertime player type music. You know what I mean? So I JonBE aka DJ Chill: Nah, it's a long Ray: was thinking like Dom Kennedy, Larry June. currency and Primo Rice as a collective. Because I listen to all of them a lot and all of their sounds is kind of the beats they rap on, they all kind of go together. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. Ray: I was thinking about putting Payroll in there too, but it's only four. So yeah, that's who I went with, man. Just based on I think they sound a mesh good together. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I love it. I'm gonna get to the chat and then I'm gonna ask you some more questions about your super group. what's going on, B? Appreciate you pulling up. Shout out to the Panda Man, what's good? A lot of people might not be as well versed with these guys because these aren't the megastars that everybody's used to hearing every day. So what do each one of these guys bring to the table? I'm a big I I've become a big Don Kennedy Like I didn't Ray: Mm-hmm. JonBE aka DJ Chill: know that I would like him as much as I did until I actually went back and and checked checked out his music. So what do each one of these guys bring to the table that would make them your super girl? Ray: Well, like I said, they sound meshed good together because a super group don't work unless the soundscapes match. So I was thinking with that mindset that based on the beats they picked, the subject matter they talk about, because they talk about a lot of fly stuff, but they be saying some real stuff in between. And the music is like, it don't beat you in the head too much. It's not super serious. So, you know. You can play it with any setting pretty much. That's what I like the most about it. You can play it in a car or whatever. You can play it in a chill environment. Say you got a little kickback at your house or something. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. Ray: It's fitting for everything, for every occasion. So that's why I really like it. You know what I mean? JonBE aka DJ Chill: Absolutely. The crowd agrees. My main man my man Byron said, Dom go hard. And that's what I'm saying. I was so unaware, and then you know, you talk to people, and that's that's what I love about this show. That you bring people to the forefront that you might not have given a chance. But you know, if you hear somebody else talk about it, you're like, well, I'll go check out his music. Y'all should go check out that Billy Billy Michelle, Bi Billy Mitchell, excuse me. And since Ray: Mm-hmm. JonBE aka DJ Chill: 2008, joint that we played in the beginning fired. We were even supposed to get Migos and Young Thug collaborative album at one point. We did get a future in Young Thug collaborative album at one point. We got a Travis Scott and Quavo. collab album. these guys are frequent collaborators. They make amazing music together. It's very melodic trap. Can't JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. KW: go wrong. When he started naming people, I started guessing in my head who he's going to say and it kind of matched up. Migos was the only one I didn't expect with the other three. Made a lot JonBE aka DJ Chill: Man, it threw me off with that one too. Ray: of sense because Travis is a producer too. Him and Future, they don't miss too much, so that's a strong team. JonBE aka DJ Chill: My man Matt B said Southern Weed Heads should be the name of the other group. Hey, they getting money though. That'd be, like you said, that's one hell of a concert. All right. So let's that we got our super groups out the way. So on this show, and I'm ready to play this. This is gonna be fun. We play a game on here called Play Share Delete. So what you gotta do is you gotta, you gotta, I'm gonna give these guys three people, and they gotta. Play one, share one, delete one. So this the the context is this one is all about live hip-hop performances. So play, share, delete, watch, you know, give the tickets away. You know, never want to go to a show. Same thing. We'll start with you, Ray. Which concert would you attend? Which concert would you buy tickets for somebody else? And which concert would you do you wish never happened? Ray: I would definitely go to Weekend's concert. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Okay. Ray: I would share the Migos and I wouldn't go to the Post Malone. JonBE aka DJ Chill: Really? You wouldn't go to Post Malone concert or you got a pretty good show. Who knows? I I've never been. I've seen him look like he was on drugs before on like the internet but Ray: He talented. I got to pick somebody and I just like The Weeknd JonBE aka DJ Chill: Yeah. Ray: a lot. And then Migos is, I love their first two albums. yeah. Post Malone's a single, single got to me. JonBE aka DJ Chill: I'd love to see the weekend live. Yeah, I'd love to see him live. Cheeklove said, giving away Nikki tickets. Yeah. I would share either one of Weekend or Post, but I'm probably gonna share Weekend first, I think. KW: So I think the safer route, if I'm giving these away, just like a casual fan, is probably go to the Triple X show and not the Playboy Cardi show.
