- 0:00Speaker 1: I think we're just going to see more and more
- 0:01Speaker 1: Chinese brands. I constantly get emails from new brands that
- 0:04Speaker 1: are coming like this fourth.
- 0:05Speaker 2: In fourth Thing sounds like something down to the Pokey's.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah please, let's chuck in one hundred bucks. In the
- 0:10Speaker 2: fourth thing, the.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Driver's Show with Paul Marriage and Gordy Waters. Hey, we
- 0:21Speaker 1: were just on the red carpet.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I took your first little red carpet
- 0:25Speaker 2: of d I came here here in kiss.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we were just doing the podcast. But you said
- 0:30Speaker 1: Delta was there, and I.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Said, all my fans were down there to explain to.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Her I'm married. Yeah you did even know she was?
- 0:36Speaker 2: No, you're like Delta.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Is she a rapper? Yeah? She looked lovely.
- 0:39Speaker 2: She collabed with Ramstein.
- 0:41Speaker 1: But I said, no, married, got a kid. Thank you,
- 0:43Speaker 1: Thank you Choo. I think is what we should be saying. Right,
- 0:48Speaker 1: you come back from.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Did I tell you I'm back from Europe?
- 0:52Speaker 1: Now?
- 0:53Speaker 2: I went to Europe. I can tell yees have got
- 0:55Speaker 2: this this actually this is these these these pants. People
- 0:58Speaker 2: think I borrowed them from Trevor is a wardrobe, but
- 1:01Speaker 2: these sensible trousers are a europe purchase what they do
- 1:04Speaker 2: in Europe.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You wouldn't understand.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Long and wide, long and wide, just like the contents
- 1:12Speaker 2: back from Europe had a great time. Was there for
- 1:16Speaker 2: the heat wave? The great Paris heat wave?
- 1:18Speaker 1: Now, okay, so I gotta ask you, because every time
- 1:21Speaker 1: I go to Europe in summer, it's hot. But it's
- 1:26Speaker 1: not that bad.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's not that bad.
- 1:28Speaker 1: You know what is bad that they're too cheap to
- 1:30Speaker 1: have air conditioners.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Do you know what it's It's not even that they're cheap,
- 1:34Speaker 2: it's actually somewhat illegal, so especially in Paris. So what
- 1:37Speaker 2: I've heard is because of the architecture of the place,
- 1:40Speaker 2: people don't want to ruin it with the bulky widow
- 1:43Speaker 2: boxes and stuff.
- 1:44Speaker 1: So you go to a French hotel the lift is
- 1:47Speaker 1: the size of a backpack. Yes, and it's like, can
- 1:50Speaker 1: we have a lift that's big enough for more than
- 1:52Speaker 1: one person? You go and have food and they serve you.
- 1:57Speaker 2: God, you're a fatty bumballa you can't fit in the food.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I just really really dislike it. And then you walk
- 2:03Speaker 1: around the streets and it is it is not the
- 2:05Speaker 1: place it used to be ten years ago in Paris.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Of Paris niece.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, look, I I remember going to Paris
- 2:15Speaker 2: actually about fifteen years ago, and it was a fucking
- 2:19Speaker 2: hole like heroin everywhere, people in the street. It was
- 2:25Speaker 2: like real bad, right, it was similar to parts of Amsterdam.
- 2:29Speaker 2: And then I went about ten years ago and I
- 2:32Speaker 2: loved it and it was really nice and had a
- 2:34Speaker 2: great time. I think it depends on the part of
- 2:36Speaker 2: town you're in. Like we were literally in.
- 2:38Speaker 1: The Paris end of Paris, I see, and.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we were staying in like a fucking Airbnb's
- 2:45Speaker 2: shoe box, and we copped the heat, but it was fine.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Like you keep the windows open, you get the afternoon breezes.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I love a wind, I reckon, Yeah, it's fine. Don't
- 2:55Speaker 1: you like about the place?
- 2:56Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It's just full of gypsies.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And like, okay, all right, how a gypsy that's so
- 3:02Speaker 2: fucking Eastern European.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And if I go back to parts of my homeland, yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 1: the gypsies. There are the gypsies that get across the
- 3:09Speaker 1: border and and they'll fight you if they didn't. Yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 1: and I know how to deal with a gypsy. I'm
- 3:14Speaker 1: not concerned about that. When my wife tries to talk
- 3:17Speaker 1: to them. I'm like, don't fucking talk to them.
- 3:19Speaker 2: What do you mean to tell me more about this
- 3:21Speaker 2: dealing with a gypsy? I'm going to stop now, No,
- 3:24Speaker 2: tell me more. How do you deal with a gypsy?
- 3:26Speaker 2: How do you deal with the Croatian gypsy?
- 3:28Speaker 1: Can't be nice to them? Why? Because they're gypsies. I'm
- 3:34Speaker 1: going to give you an exact.
- 3:34Speaker 2: I want to give you my gods for your wife
- 3:36Speaker 2: and you.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And I learned this from from my auntie. We went
- 3:41Speaker 1: to visit her. She was in Serbia. I got family
- 3:44Speaker 1: in Croatia and Servia, so I went to visit her
- 3:45Speaker 1: in Serbia. And the latest gypsy game was to basically
- 3:49Speaker 1: stand in the car parks and they would move, but
- 3:53Speaker 1: you'd have to pay them. And it's like, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: you're not a parking intendant. And what my auntie would
- 3:57Speaker 1: do is.
- 4:00Speaker 2: That's I'm clipping this. I'm clipping this. Tell me to
- 4:03Speaker 2: the story.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And I don't know if it was on purpose or
- 4:05Speaker 1: whether it was just because it was a hugo, but
- 4:07Speaker 1: it did roll into very slowly into and then and
- 4:13Speaker 1: then she would just unpolitely tell him to you know,
- 4:16Speaker 1: how do you say fuck up in Croatia.
- 4:18Speaker 2: What would you say, Zerbian? Yeah, ah, oh geez, look
- 4:23Speaker 2: careful of that whole angle.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Coming down anyway. But yeah, so I don't know, but
- 4:30Speaker 1: this is this is the issue I had with France.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I did not feel safe walking around Paris or Marseille,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and to me, those places, like the architecture is nice enough,
- 4:39Speaker 1: but I just sound like I'm complaining here. It's not
- 4:41Speaker 1: all of Europe. It's just mainly France.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I did quite like the French food. I think, yeah,
- 4:47Speaker 2: it is. I like how they're quite refined in a
- 4:50Speaker 2: lot of ways. I think a lot of it is
- 4:52Speaker 2: a bit of a production. It's not as a production
- 4:55Speaker 2: as if you go to the States, though, because the
- 4:56Speaker 2: fucking States are a production.
- 4:58Speaker 1: The States is all about size. And the thing I
- 5:02Speaker 1: love about the States is if you go to Texas
- 5:05Speaker 1: or you go to some of the Midwestern states, Southern states,
- 5:09Speaker 1: just the fact that a meal can just be a
- 5:11Speaker 1: slab of meat or several slabs of different meat, that
- 5:14Speaker 1: to me is a meal. I don't have a sophisticated palette.
- 5:17Speaker 1: So you can take your snails and all the other
- 5:19Speaker 1: ship they make in France. You could have all that
- 5:22Speaker 1: on the It's not interested in it.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Oh well they will be letting the French concho. Let
- 5:26Speaker 2: know about this. I went around France in a in
- 5:30Speaker 2: a minimoke, but it was an ev it was weird.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It was fun though, that was good fun. And then
- 5:37Speaker 2: by the time we stayed in Monopoly. If you have
- 5:39Speaker 2: been to Monopoly in Italy, so it's very I recommend it.
- 5:43Speaker 2: It's underrated. It's kind of like the the cheap Yeah,
- 5:47Speaker 2: we literally don't worry. There's a get out of jail
- 5:52Speaker 2: for free card. There's it's basically the cheap end of
- 5:56Speaker 2: the Amafi Coast, i'd say, or the other end anyway. Whatever,
- 5:59Speaker 2: But stayed in the old town. It was really nice.
- 6:01Speaker 2: But you know what I did do. I did take
- 6:03Speaker 2: around a little fit five hundred convertible and they call it,
- 6:07Speaker 2: I think they call it a feat jolly or a look,
- 6:13Speaker 2: I can't remember. It's a very manly car. As we
- 6:15Speaker 2: were talking, off air and so it's basically there's they
- 6:18Speaker 2: hardly made any roof off and the seats not in
- 6:23Speaker 2: this one, but the seats are kind of basket.
- 6:26Speaker 1: There you go. Yeah, so far from a jolly in
- 6:28Speaker 1: a rare open air beach car built by the design
- 6:31Speaker 1: house gear in the late nineteen fifties and sixties.
- 6:34Speaker 2: For these billionaire or millionaires to get around to their yachts.
- 6:36Speaker 1: And distinctive wicker seats and a fringed canvas just like
- 6:41Speaker 1: your hair. Yes. Interesting.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yeah, so they've got like this weird canvassy kind of top. Yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 2: it's like a it looks like a some sort of
- 6:49Speaker 2: a pagola or something.
- 6:51Speaker 1: It literally looks like something one of my uncles in
- 6:53Speaker 1: Serbia would build. Yeah, out of a yugo.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you chop up a you go, you go down
- 6:58Speaker 2: to Croatian Bunnings and you sell this to the billionaires,
- 7:02Speaker 2: which is really weird. So you buy one.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I've tried.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I loved it. I really loved it, and I tried to.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I looked up how much they would be over here.
- 7:09Speaker 2: One hundred and sixty thousand dollars for that tiny look
- 7:13Speaker 2: yeah yeah yeah, there's only one in Australia. Yeah, And
- 7:18Speaker 2: then I thought, well, hang on, let's look at how
- 7:20Speaker 2: much they are over there, and there's not many of them.
- 7:22Speaker 2: They are rare, but they're like forty thousand euro wow,
- 7:27Speaker 2: which is about say seventy.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I'm looking at a site here. They do recreations of them.
- 7:32Speaker 1: So I wonder if you can buy just like a
- 7:36Speaker 1: standard five hundred that they then sort of tub and
- 7:38Speaker 1: then do this too.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Maybe, But yeah, it was really fun interesting. I went
- 7:43Speaker 2: to this We went to this site of this famous restaurant.
- 7:46Speaker 2: You would have seen it probably on Instagram at some point,
- 7:48Speaker 2: but it's carved into the side of a cliff, right,
- 7:53Speaker 2: and it looks amazing. You've got this blue water down below,
- 7:55Speaker 2: and it's this incredible looking restaurant. And actually it's got
- 7:59Speaker 2: secret connecting. I was into the local palace. Yeah, so
- 8:02Speaker 2: like they stopped doing it now, but the local royalty
- 8:06Speaker 2: would be able to take the fucking secret tunnel directly
- 8:09Speaker 2: to this restaurant down Yeah, take a couple of gypsies
- 8:12Speaker 2: down there, gypsy and anyway, So to get in to
- 8:18Speaker 2: this joint, it's about four hundred bucks ahead.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Obviously left the kid at home.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Actually I think it's I think it's three hundred euro.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I didn't go. My sister in law and brother in
- 8:28Speaker 2: law went and they said, I think it was around
- 8:32Speaker 2: three hundred euro. The food was not worth twenty bucks. Yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 2: you pay for the French food, No, you pay for
- 8:40Speaker 2: the view.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It's in Italy, dumb mass what I thought maybe it
- 8:43Speaker 1: was a French restaurant.
- 8:45Speaker 2: You really hate the French.
- 8:46Speaker 1: No, I don't know what you're talking about. This is
- 8:48Speaker 1: the first time I've mentioned the French in this episode.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Oh is it because the other people was No, we're
- 8:52Speaker 1: keeping that in. I'm keeping that in.
- 8:55Speaker 2: How's your how's the super Duty?
- 8:59Speaker 1: You know what it's like? The at five hundred? Jolly?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Oh?
- 9:02Speaker 1: Very slow?
- 9:03Speaker 2: Yeah, you're did a modern right.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I think I'm going to have to because it should
- 9:11Speaker 1: sell it. It's getting to the point now where it
- 9:13Speaker 1: is unbearably slow, to the point where I'm like, I
- 9:17Speaker 1: have to really plan overtaking and just accelerating. Like, I
- 9:22Speaker 1: don't understand how nobody twigged during the engineering process that
- 9:26Speaker 1: this thing was as gutless as it is just standard.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I'm surprised you didn't, to be honest, Like, you look
- 9:32Speaker 2: at the figures on paper. It doesn't look like it's
- 9:34Speaker 2: setting them.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Well, I ordered this in April twenty twenty five, so
- 9:37Speaker 1: I paid the deposit then, so it was kind of
- 9:40Speaker 1: not committed, but sort of committed. So yeah, look, I
- 9:44Speaker 1: don't know it's going fine. I enjoy it, it's just
- 9:48Speaker 1: it needs a kick up the ass, basically. So I
- 9:51Speaker 1: don't know what I'll do to make that happen, because
- 9:53Speaker 1: if I modify it, you on the risk avoiding the
- 9:56Speaker 1: warranty and all that sort of stuff. So I've a
- 9:58Speaker 1: little bit of think about it, but yeah, I will,
- 10:00Speaker 1: I will report back.
- 10:02Speaker 2: You like your big American vibes, you know you like
- 10:05Speaker 2: your American car? Do you play your country music in
- 10:08Speaker 2: that sometimes? Yeah, super dooty.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Bit of del It's a good room sort of country.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Don't don't sleep with my cousin cause she's a cutie.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I'm poor Meyeric and my super.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Dooty very good, very good. I could.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I know it's a bit naughty, but I hate her booty,
- 10:33Speaker 2: poor Merrik and super dooty. Well, I'm driving the jymney
- 10:37Speaker 2: at the moment.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Let's start that song. Yeah, okay, you got your inny
- 10:43Speaker 1: in your jimney.
- 10:44Speaker 2: My mustache is a little bit whimsy beep beep he comes,
- 10:49Speaker 2: God he in his little jimney or what about it? Actually,
- 10:53Speaker 2: you like your commodorees, So maybe we could have Maybe
- 10:57Speaker 2: we could would be as like Australian hip hoh, like.
- 11:02Speaker 1: The riding hoods. What do they called the riding hoods there.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the fucking Hilltop Top Woods. That's it.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, what's up? My dad's in prison getting bummed
- 11:15Speaker 2: by blokes. I get send a link because my mom's
- 11:18Speaker 2: had a stroke. My mates come around and have the
- 11:21Speaker 2: glass Barbie. It only took us twenty minutes to change
- 11:25Speaker 2: the SS Comodore Carby.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I like it the AFI, but that that was so close,
- 11:31Speaker 1: thank you, so close.
- 11:32Speaker 2: That's not bad um not the Iron Lion. So anyway,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I had a bit of a fun time in the
- 11:42Speaker 2: young day Ionic six.
- 11:43Speaker 1: N Yeah, it's you know what. I haven't driven it,
- 11:47Speaker 1: but the guys had one through the office the other day.
- 11:49Speaker 1: It was a matte gray one. Oh nice spoiler, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: actually looks really cool that that only six looks pretty shit,
- 11:55Speaker 1: just standard. Yeah, the end looks aren't real.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I reckon if you didn't tell me, they'll
- 12:03Speaker 2: related cars. Yeah, i'd believe you.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Like, it actually does look completely different, and it's weird
- 12:07Speaker 1: because you know what it is. But you're like, hold on,
- 12:09Speaker 1: that actually looks really good.
- 12:10Speaker 2: It looks so good.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I had the baby blue. I don't like the
- 12:13Speaker 2: baby blue.
- 12:14Speaker 1: I think that color dated very quickly.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, It's become their signature throughout the whole end line, though,
- 12:19Speaker 2: hasn't it? Yeah?
- 12:19Speaker 1: It has, But I reckon it's time for a little, little,
- 12:22Speaker 1: little tweak makeover.
- 12:24Speaker 2: It is an unmistakably great looking track looking car, right,
- 12:30Speaker 2: and it looks cool and I mean, fuck you look
- 12:35Speaker 2: at the figures on this, three hundred and fifty kill
- 12:38Speaker 2: DC charging. What else you have? Four hundred and seventy
- 12:40Speaker 2: eight killer what's seven hundred and seventy new meters of
- 12:43Speaker 2: talk zero to one hundred I think in three point
- 12:46Speaker 2: two seconds? Like it's quick, and I mean I know
- 12:49Speaker 2: evs now are quick, but this is this is different.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Like there is like they did with the Ionic five N.
- 12:57Speaker 2: There's fucking really really really good engineering going on in
- 13:01Speaker 2: this car. Like it's so well put together, it's such
- 13:03Speaker 2: a solid car. Fake engine noises, Well, these guys started it. Yeah,
- 13:08Speaker 2: and they did the sorry, they started the fake gear shifts. Yes,
- 13:12Speaker 2: And that's the difference here with yan Day and the
- 13:14Speaker 2: other EV brands. They kind of led the way with
- 13:17Speaker 2: all the EV engineering and Albert Bierman, who was the
- 13:21Speaker 2: boss of the N division, he came from BMW'SM division
- 13:25Speaker 2: and he's since become a consultant, but he was responsible
- 13:29Speaker 2: for all that stuff and gave them the brief that
- 13:32Speaker 2: this is a fast car, but it needs to be
- 13:34Speaker 2: more than just a fast EV. So they've got the
- 13:37Speaker 2: drift modes, the talk.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Distribution, the gear shifts, the insane region breaking when it's
- 13:43Speaker 1: in its track mode. It is a really impressive vehicle,
- 13:46Speaker 1: and that the features in that spawned features in other cars.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So the new Tychon has like the fake gear shifts
- 13:53Speaker 1: now as well.
- 13:54Speaker 2: That's kind of what I was thinking when I was
- 13:55Speaker 2: driving this around, especially giving it some like chewing the
- 13:59Speaker 2: ass out of his car around a corner. You're thinking, Fuck.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Porsche, what was his name?
- 14:05Speaker 2: Little Parlo? He sorry, you'd you'd honestly want to be
- 14:12Speaker 2: taking notes Porsche, because like they were doing some really
- 14:16Speaker 2: good stuff with that.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You know, it's just very quickly on Porsche. We just
- 14:20Speaker 1: published our review of the updated nine nine two GT
- 14:24Speaker 1: three Manual, and you know, Porsche, I reckon, they're in
- 14:27Speaker 1: a spot of other So Porsche listed publicly, and when
- 14:32Speaker 1: they list publicly, it means that you can track the
- 14:35Speaker 1: stock price and you can understand how the company is doing.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Porsche's in a spot of bother they're down like between
- 14:42Speaker 1: the peak and now they're down something like sixty percent
- 14:45Speaker 1: on the share price. A lot of that has been
- 14:47Speaker 1: driven by the incessant push for electric cars, which is
- 14:50Speaker 1: backfight because no one is really interested in an electric Porsche,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and it's our resulting in them having to jack the
- 14:56Speaker 1: price of all of their interesting cars up. And that
- 15:00Speaker 1: GT three, the nine nine to two point two is
- 15:02Speaker 1: a perfect sort of example of that, because what they've
- 15:05Speaker 1: done is it has to meet all these stupid emissions regulations,
- 15:08Speaker 1: which I still stand by the fact that it is
- 15:10Speaker 1: a dumb idea to require a sports car like that
- 15:12Speaker 1: to have emissions regulations when it is a lightly sold vehicle.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's resulted in it having less output, and with less
- 15:20Speaker 1: output comes less accelerations. What they did was they adjusted
- 15:23Speaker 1: the gearing on the six speed manual because it doesn't
- 15:26Speaker 1: get the seven speed that the non GT cars received,
- 15:30Speaker 1: and as a result of that, the gearing is now
- 15:34Speaker 1: just insane. So you're doing one hundred k's an hour,
- 15:36Speaker 1: it's doing like three thousand rpm. So you can't actually
- 15:38Speaker 1: drive this thing because it just does your head in
- 15:40Speaker 1: if you're on the highway and they've jacked the price
- 15:43Speaker 1: of it up as well. It is now like a
- 15:45Speaker 1: six hundred thousand dollars proposition plus on road depending on
- 15:48Speaker 1: what you want to option.
- 15:49Speaker 2: So that's base right before you option it.
- 15:52Speaker 1: GT three this had a vice art pack, which is
- 15:54Speaker 1: again the first time they've offered this in a non
- 15:57Speaker 1: RS Again, it is just a case of trying to
- 16:02Speaker 1: extract money out of people. They're trying to balance the
- 16:04Speaker 1: company by selling more of that stuff that people still
- 16:07Speaker 1: want to buy. So it is a dangerous game to play.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And then it brings the problem that a GC three
- 16:11Speaker 1: used to be, and I say this somewhat tongue in cheek,
- 16:15Speaker 1: but an attainable sports car for someone who wanted a
- 16:17Speaker 1: track car. They knew they could drive to the track,
- 16:20Speaker 1: drive out the track, and drive home.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Again, it was more like it was more than a
- 16:24Speaker 2: rich man fast car.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Yeah you know what I mean.
- 16:28Speaker 2: It was a proper enthusiast car.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And it's lost that appeal because I don't know, even
- 16:34Speaker 1: if you have that kind of money, no one is
- 16:35Speaker 1: going to be taking a six hundred thousand dollars Porsche
- 16:37Speaker 1: to the racetrack frequently. So I just then just don't
- 16:42Speaker 1: really understand the point of the car, which is why
- 16:43Speaker 1: they have the touring, which is now the non winged version.
- 16:47Speaker 1: You've got the extra two seats. So yeah, I don't know.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I do hope they come to their senses and go
- 16:53Speaker 1: back to normal, but yeah, it's.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Crazy that they're held by those sorts of those sorts
- 16:59Speaker 2: of law. It's like if if that's you know, it
- 17:03Speaker 2: just feels like these emissions laws have got companies by
- 17:06Speaker 2: the absolute balls with this sort of stuff. Let's go
- 17:08Speaker 2: back to something more affordable. One hundred and twenty thousand,
- 17:12Speaker 2: that's before you get this thing on the road. So
- 17:14Speaker 2: let's say one hundred and twenty five thousand for the
- 17:16Speaker 2: Ionic six N. What do you think of that price?
- 17:19Speaker 2: Because it's a lot, it's a lot, and the interior
- 17:24Speaker 2: is pretty like, look, I love this car, I really
- 17:27Speaker 2: love this car, but fuck you sit in it. And
- 17:31Speaker 2: they have made upgrades and updates to the whatever you
- 17:35Speaker 2: want to call it, the inne shift, the virtual gearbox.
- 17:39Speaker 2: It's incredible, no doubt about it. But one hundred and twenty,
- 17:43Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty grand and I'm still touching like
- 17:46Speaker 2: molded plastic interior.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, I think what happened is they were
- 17:52Speaker 1: This is the issue. When you're a pioneer, right, you
- 17:55Speaker 1: bring all this stuff to market first, you know, you
- 17:58Speaker 1: put your flag down. Unfortunately, the rest of the market
- 18:01Speaker 1: has gone down in terms of price, so all the
- 18:03Speaker 1: Chinese now have similar acceleration figures for straight like acceleration
- 18:07Speaker 1: or better, and they're significantly cheaper, So you no longer
- 18:11Speaker 1: have the motive of being the only person that can
- 18:12Speaker 1: do all this stuff. The Chinese have just copied all
- 18:14Speaker 1: of that.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Having said that, though, the quality in something like this,
- 18:19Speaker 2: and it's hard to explain, but just the overall package
- 18:23Speaker 2: you're getting, it's almost like the fluency of a car
- 18:25Speaker 2: like this compared to what China are coming out with.
- 18:28Speaker 1: The copycup Zeka seven gt I dropped that in China,
- 18:34Speaker 1: that thing is similar to the Ionic five or six N.
- 18:40Speaker 1: The acceleration is next level, the interior is lux like
- 18:44Speaker 1: this thing is luxury. The price of that over there
- 18:48Speaker 1: is significantly cheaper than these young day products. And there's
- 18:50Speaker 1: kind of the issue that a lot of these brands have,
- 18:52Speaker 1: so Hyundai, the other Korean brands, Keia, all the Japanese brands.
- 18:58Speaker 1: You're running on brand legacy and people are starting to
- 19:01Speaker 1: care less about that, and that's a problem because you
- 19:03Speaker 1: can't charge insane prices anymore, which is what the prices
- 19:06Speaker 1: became over COVID. If you track the price of the
- 19:09Speaker 1: last Generation four over COVID, almost nothing changed on that
- 19:12Speaker 1: car except it got more expensive. And a lot of
- 19:15Speaker 1: car brands took COVID as a great excuse to jack
- 19:18Speaker 1: prices up. They never put the prices back down. And
- 19:20Speaker 1: they've now been caught out by the Chinese who said, well,
- 19:23Speaker 1: not only can we beat that price pre COVID, we're
- 19:26Speaker 1: just going to hold a lower price now. And you've
- 19:28Speaker 1: got these cars that people are just not buying anywhere.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I mean, if you're Mitsubishi at the moment, now, will
- 19:32Speaker 1: you be around in Australia And in not a long.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Time they are the next They are the next for it,
- 19:37Speaker 2: hands down.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Yeah. So it's it's interesting, it's a it's a fascinating
- 19:41Speaker 1: time in the in the car industry. And I think
- 19:44Speaker 1: we're just going to see more and more Chinese brands.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Like we constantly get emails from new brands that are coming,
- 19:49Speaker 1: like this fourth thing is coming, Yeah, four.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Thing, four thing. It sounds like a game, sounds like
- 19:56Speaker 2: sounds like something down to the pokes. Yeas, please, let's
- 19:59Speaker 2: check in one hundred and the fourth feet. Yeah. Look,
- 20:02Speaker 2: I think the Young Day I'm excited for you to
- 20:04Speaker 2: drive this. Actually, I think they've made more than I
- 20:09Speaker 2: guess a fast TV. I think they've proved that some
- 20:12Speaker 2: evs can be genuinely fun drivers cars.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Yep.
- 20:16Speaker 2: And if that was their objective, I think they've been
- 20:17Speaker 2: successful with that. I think it's good. Oh I'm gonna
- 20:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna sprinkle a little bit of WTF on the
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yundai Alexio. Right. So I had this car, and I'm
- 20:30Speaker 2: to be honest.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I've still got this car.
- 20:32Speaker 2: I'm I'm just not driving it too much. It's not enjoyable.
- 20:36Speaker 2: And I look at it, I'm like, why does this
- 20:38Speaker 2: car look so disjointed? Like the design of it. There's
- 20:41Speaker 2: no fluency about it, There's no It just looks like
- 20:45Speaker 2: it's a group project. And someone's done the back and
- 20:47Speaker 2: someone's done the front, and someone's done the middle. And
- 20:49Speaker 2: I'm like, hang on, I've seen this before. This looks
- 20:52Speaker 2: like a Chinese kind of designed car and it is.
- 20:55Speaker 2: So this is Yon Day Shanghai, and they've got this program.
- 21:00Speaker 2: I don't know what it's called. But it's it's basically
- 21:03Speaker 2: their their motto is by China for China to the
- 21:06Speaker 2: world kind of deal, and it's not. It's just not
- 21:11Speaker 2: an exciting car. It's just like a medium sized suv.
- 21:14Speaker 2: It's got this big fucking screen right, this big screen
- 21:17Speaker 2: in the middle. And you know how Yanda is still
- 21:19Speaker 2: pretty good with putting in physical buttons and all that
- 21:21Speaker 2: sort of stuff. No buttons here, no buttons chopper, no buttons,
- 21:26Speaker 2: no fucking buttons whatsoever. I'm like, this is definitely from China,
- 21:29Speaker 2: and the screen is a faff about. It's so funny
- 21:31Speaker 2: because I was looking at other other reviews on this
- 21:34Speaker 2: car and they're done by your influencer mums and stuff
- 21:37Speaker 2: like that, and it's like they've never fucking they're so impressed.
- 21:41Speaker 2: And I'm like, you've never fucking jumped in an EV before.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Look at this Power's how okay? Look how look how
- 21:48Speaker 2: it's power Look How look how beautiful the interior as
- 21:52Speaker 2: it matches my outfait. I like, I can touch this
- 21:55Speaker 2: button and the air con comes up. Oh my god,
- 21:57Speaker 2: it's got fucking heated seats. It warms my poor it's
- 22:01Speaker 2: got a beaver heat my Yeah.
- 22:04Speaker 1: The issue with those types of people is that their
- 22:07Speaker 1: standard car is probably like a twenty year old shitter.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So literally, any car is amazing. And that's why car
- 22:14Speaker 1: companies target those types of influencers, because not only are
- 22:18Speaker 1: they easy to influence to then talk about your car.
- 22:22Speaker 1: To them, it's the best thing ever. Even if it's
- 22:24Speaker 1: a ship box, yeah, which I don't know if this
- 22:25Speaker 1: is having.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Look it's not. I shouldn't say it's a ship box,
- 22:28Speaker 2: and I'm not gonna say I wouldn't buy one, but
- 22:31Speaker 2: I probably shouldn't buy one. It's like sixty k. I
- 22:33Speaker 2: don't think it's anything remarkable. I think it's missing a
- 22:36Speaker 2: whole lot of significant things. And it's just it's not
- 22:41Speaker 2: really setting the world on fire. It's gutless. I mean,
- 22:43Speaker 2: it's range is about five hundred and sixty kilometers that's
- 22:46Speaker 2: been conservative. Charging is slow too, like ten to eighty
- 22:50Speaker 2: in about thirty eight minutes. It just feels the design's clumsy.
- 22:55Speaker 2: The interior has just average that screen, a massive screen.
- 22:58Speaker 2: On first glance, Wow, it's impressive because it goes all
- 23:01Speaker 2: the way to the passengers eye. But it's just it's
- 23:03Speaker 2: a fuff around and it's like it's not a somewhat
- 23:06Speaker 2: yan day are really good at.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's half the problem, right, And that's actually
- 23:10Speaker 1: what's happening now with the Japanese brands. They're realizing that
- 23:13Speaker 1: the only way they can compete with Chinese car brands
- 23:15Speaker 1: is by manufacturing cars in China with JVS and up
- 23:20Speaker 1: until Tesla, basically, if you wanted to sell a Western
- 23:25Speaker 1: car brand in China, you had to have a joint
- 23:27Speaker 1: venture with a Chinese car company. So all of these
- 23:31Speaker 1: joint ventures then resulted in the joint venture arm creating
- 23:35Speaker 1: their own cars, which are basically just clones of the
- 23:38Speaker 1: Western vehicle. So at the moment, likes of Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota,
- 23:46Speaker 1: a lot of them are teaming up with these Chinese
- 23:48Speaker 1: brands to bring cars to Australia. And what they'll do is,
- 23:51Speaker 1: like the Mazda, they stick a Masda badge on it
- 23:53Speaker 1: and to probably ninety percent of people, they don't know
- 23:56Speaker 1: that it's made and they don't care that it's made
- 23:58Speaker 1: by another brand. To them, it's just a master no exactly.
- 24:01Speaker 2: In same with like Toyota as well, they just go, oh,
- 24:04Speaker 2: Toyota badge, it's got it's got legacy. My dad just
- 24:07Speaker 2: brought the new RAB four yep, And I was like,
- 24:11Speaker 2: why are you buying that?
- 24:12Speaker 1: Anyway?
- 24:12Speaker 2: So he's got the hybrid, he's driven it from the
- 24:15Speaker 2: dealer back home, right, and guess where he drove it next?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Still fucking there. He doesn't drive it, he's just left
- 24:23Speaker 2: it there. I'm like, Dad, why why are you driving
- 24:25Speaker 2: his car? It's like yeah, it's just annoying. And I
- 24:30Speaker 2: was like, we went right into this. I'm like, Dad,
- 24:32Speaker 2: why do you want to rab four? They're boring, they're unremarkable,
- 24:35Speaker 2: they do the job, they go a to b oh
- 24:37Speaker 2: because it's a Toyota reliability.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Some people shop like that.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah he did. He buys shit without test driving
- 24:45Speaker 2: every single car he's ever had.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Fucking annoying. Anyway, we're fighting at the moment, I was
- 24:49Speaker 3: gonna say, yeah, I just get my phone. Now, get
- 24:53Speaker 3: him on the phone here. I might just say if
- 24:57Speaker 3: Delts can maybe organize something.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, were you?
- 25:00Speaker 2: She's got a couple of Porsches. Actually she's a Porsche gal.
- 25:04Speaker 2: She's got one here and she's got one in her
- 25:05Speaker 2: l a house.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Can I can I can I show something?
- 25:10Speaker 2: You know, me and my Cayman journey again. Go fucking
- 25:14Speaker 2: look at this, Look at this, Paul Pavel rec let
- 25:22Speaker 2: me find it. Oh, hang on, before we do, let's
- 25:25Speaker 2: look at Gordon in Europe with his with his what's
- 25:30Speaker 2: it called a fat? Where is that? Gordon? Where are you?
- 25:34Speaker 1: God? I looked on in that car the weather. Oh
- 25:39Speaker 1: that's that. I'm thinking of a word that's in rhymes
- 25:43Speaker 1: of hay gay. Oh it is.
- 25:47Speaker 2: But it's lovely, right, it's a lovely car anyway from
- 25:51Speaker 2: interesting anyway, after I had a giant gang bang with
- 25:55Speaker 2: five cloaks.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Well it was that in France because it could have
- 26:01Speaker 1: actually been a gang gang of gypsies.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Well, not the worst Nigeri meet up I've ever had.
- 26:13Speaker 2: How fucking nice is that? Yeah?
- 26:15Speaker 1: That is nice? That's a nice back? Is that a wrap?
- 26:18Speaker 2: Or yeah?
- 26:18Speaker 1: Probably hid something.
- 26:21Speaker 2: It's made me want an old one again, but yeah,
- 26:23Speaker 2: fuck that's nice. Um, we're going to talk about feet
- 26:27Speaker 2: in Persia. Leaving Australia, I saw a lot of them overseas,
- 26:32Speaker 2: and I think it's kind of like who cares? Because
- 26:37Speaker 2: I don't think they care about the Australian market much.
- 26:40Speaker 1: They don't care about it at all. They sold billy
- 26:42Speaker 1: anything here. It was more just that they were on
- 26:44Speaker 1: sale here for such a long time, but no one
- 26:47Speaker 1: was buying them. It is just too expensive to import
- 26:49Speaker 1: a car from Europe.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Persia actually make great looking cars, underpowered cars, I reckon.
- 26:56Speaker 2: And then when I was over there, I could see why.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Europe it's a very different. If you live in Parasol,
- 27:04Speaker 1: Rome or something, it does not make sense to have
- 27:06Speaker 1: anything other than a tiny little you know, something like
- 27:09Speaker 1: a feet five hundred or Reno whatever. That makes perfect sense.
- 27:13Speaker 1: It is just when you you translate those cars to Australia,
- 27:18Speaker 1: I just they just don't work. And Okay, if you
- 27:21Speaker 1: live in the city, you're still having to compete with
- 27:24Speaker 1: big trucks and stuff like that. It just doesn't it's
- 27:26Speaker 1: not right. Oh it might be right, but it just
- 27:29Speaker 1: doesn't doesn't fit right. But over in Europe, but it
- 27:32Speaker 1: just works.
- 27:34Speaker 2: It works lovely.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah. I kind of love a wagon as well, don't they? Oh?
- 27:39Speaker 2: The estate cars. Actually we're talking about the Reno five. God,
- 27:43Speaker 2: I hope Reno doesn't shoot off because that Reno five,
- 27:46Speaker 2: I reckon. It's nice and the racy version that is
- 27:49Speaker 2: Alpine or.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Alpine Alpine's a sound system in my commodore.
- 27:53Speaker 2: No, yes, it is Alpine's the flavor. I used to
- 27:56Speaker 2: clean the toilet bowl with Alpine breeze. Yeah, but it
- 28:02Speaker 2: looks nice, it looks nice. You've helped me with something
- 28:07Speaker 2: in a big way, right, kids kids in the front
- 28:11Speaker 2: No kids in the front seat. So my missus was like,
- 28:14Speaker 2: you're not getting a two seat car. You're not getting
- 28:16Speaker 2: a two seeded car. I'm like, I can legally put it.
- 28:18Speaker 2: It's so weird when you call up Service New South Wales,
- 28:22Speaker 2: can I put a baby seat in the front car?
- 28:25Speaker 2: And I swear to God to this day I've never
- 28:28Speaker 2: got an actual black and white answer. So Service New
- 28:30Speaker 2: South Wales will say yes, as long as there's no
- 28:34Speaker 2: back seats. I'm like, well yes, but also it's at
- 28:37Speaker 2: the discretion of the cop. What I'm like, what does
- 28:40Speaker 2: that mean? So I can put it in? But but
- 28:42Speaker 2: if some cop doesn't like it, it's out. They go, Yes,
- 28:46Speaker 2: that can't be a fit. That's that's so really, that's
- 28:48Speaker 2: so yeah. I've got an email from them buried away
- 28:52Speaker 2: there and.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I was like, that sounds like an ass covering answer.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah, But also I was like, that's it's it doesn't
- 28:57Speaker 2: really work so well they.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Want listening to this that isn't a customer service agent
- 29:03Speaker 1: who probably doesn't want to get fired. Can you tell us?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah, shed some light on it for me, because it's
- 29:08Speaker 2: so dumb the way it works. Because their big concern
- 29:12Speaker 2: is they don't like kids in the front seat because
- 29:15Speaker 2: of the air bag situation. So Porsche, for instance, because
- 29:19Speaker 2: I was looking at these, they've got a thing where
- 29:22Speaker 2: you can disable the passenger airbag.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Right, that's only for a rear facing seat, I'm pretty sure,
- 29:28Speaker 1: because if an air bag deploys onto a rear facing
- 29:32Speaker 1: seat that becomes a problem. But for a forward facing seat,
- 29:34Speaker 1: I don't know why an airbag would be an issue.
- 29:37Speaker 1: And they literally a lot of cars have that exact
- 29:40Speaker 1: feature where you can disable the airbag.
- 29:42Speaker 2: But that was well, it's illegal to disable the passenger
- 29:45Speaker 2: air bag, and yet they hate having the The The
- 29:49Speaker 2: big thing is that having the air bag there I
- 29:52Speaker 2: not switchable.
- 29:54Speaker 1: You can switch it off, right, I'm pretty sure because
- 29:59Speaker 1: I know that there were.
- 30:00Speaker 2: So depends on like models, like earlier models, So if anything,
- 30:02Speaker 2: say pre say twenty thirty, we're.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Not helping anyone here something like that. But the other
- 30:07Speaker 1: thing as well, is in Europe, a lot of the
- 30:09Speaker 1: cars have ISO fixed in the front seat because they
- 30:11Speaker 1: will have baby seats there. So it is simply an
- 30:14Speaker 1: Australian concoction. Which is half of this stuff, which is
- 30:16Speaker 1: really frustrating. Australia seems to know better than other parts
- 30:19Speaker 1: of the world. But yes, some of this stuff is stupid.
- 30:22Speaker 2: And they're so gray on it too.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what gets me. It's like, while we're bitching here. Yeah,
- 30:28Speaker 1: the first time I've bitched on this podcast.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it really is. We don't sound like too grumpy
- 30:32Speaker 2: old meant at all.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Why can we not have everything just common amongst the states?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Like why is it in Victoria I can do a
- 30:39Speaker 1: U turn wherever I want unless it's signed, whereas in
- 30:42Speaker 1: New South Wales it's the exact opposite. And you expect me,
- 30:45Speaker 1: when driving across Australia to have read every single rule
- 30:48Speaker 1: book for every single state I enter and every single
- 30:50Speaker 1: territory I enter because there might be some minor discrepancy.
- 30:54Speaker 1: How is it not just one common set of road
- 30:56Speaker 1: rules across Australia?
- 30:58Speaker 2: Yeah? And why why do we really fucking need a
- 31:01Speaker 2: hook turn?
- 31:02Speaker 1: Correct? Mm hm?
- 31:04Speaker 2: Oh, we usually like to keep these episodes timeless, but
- 31:09Speaker 2: today is a very significant day. Today is a day
- 31:15Speaker 2: we say goodbye to friend of the show. Just into Allen.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Yes, I saw it out there, there was a bus
- 31:24Speaker 1: and then she was under it.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, she's gone. She's gone. And I don't
- 31:31Speaker 2: think it's getting I can't imagine it's going to get
- 31:33Speaker 2: much better. But cut us to the handsome lady that
- 31:36Speaker 2: they've put in in front. I forget his name, but
- 31:38Speaker 2: he looks like he drives a beautiful super ru Anyway,
- 31:44Speaker 2: totally unrelated matter. Here's somem Katie Laye.
- 31:48Speaker 1: And coming right up, sister.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Yeah, let's play some Missy Higgins.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Let's go. Oh, I didn't.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Realize you're just wearing your denim overalls today, Pavel, and
- 31:59Speaker 2: you're why are you wearing a band head?
- 32:03Speaker 1: Jess?
- 32:03Speaker 2: That's a big cat you've got it looks scared. Is
- 32:06Speaker 2: that has that overheard? You say you like to eat pussy?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Just on a slightly different topic, can I say I
- 32:17Speaker 1: need to give a shout out to two people? Oh? Yeah. Firstly,
- 32:21Speaker 1: the police, The police, especially in Victoria cop a lot
- 32:27Speaker 1: of flak by a lot of people because they arrest people.
- 32:30Speaker 1: And then the courts. Just go, she'll be right, you'll
- 32:32Speaker 1: be out. Yes, But we had my brother and I
- 32:35Speaker 1: have a storage business and at midnight started getting alarm
- 32:39Speaker 1: notifications of someone walking around. Called the police. They arrived
- 32:44Speaker 1: in this sort of fairly regional part of where it
- 32:47Speaker 1: is within six minutes, wow, and caught the guy. And
- 32:52Speaker 1: you know what, that just doesn't normally happen. So I
- 32:56Speaker 1: just want to give a big shout out to them.
- 32:57Speaker 1: And then the second one, so.
- 33:00Speaker 2: There's a Paul's personal shout out to the cops for
- 33:02Speaker 2: looking after his investment property.
- 33:05Speaker 1: It's other people's belongings, store things.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:09Speaker 1: So the other one was today, I fucking got to
- 33:11Speaker 1: Sydney Airport ordered an uber and I did what I
- 33:16Speaker 1: think when I hear this happens, I'm like, how can
- 33:19Speaker 1: you be so stupid? So I ordered the uber and
- 33:23Speaker 1: Alexus Es was coming. I've only ever been in one
- 33:26Speaker 1: Lexuses as an uber. I know that others have probably
- 33:29Speaker 1: been in many. The es pulls up, I stick my
- 33:31Speaker 1: bags in, we start driving off and I get a
- 33:34Speaker 1: message on my thing saying I've arrived. I'm like, no shit, show, Like,
- 33:38Speaker 1: I'm in the fucking car with you, and I said
- 33:41Speaker 1: to the guy, is your name whatever it was? And
- 33:43Speaker 1: he goes no, and I'm like, for fox sake, and
- 33:45Speaker 1: we already had seen a legal driver. No he was.
- 33:48Speaker 1: He was picking up someone else. So it's not only
- 33:51Speaker 1: did I screw this guy because he then had to
- 33:53Speaker 1: cancel the person that had been standing there waiting. I
- 33:56Speaker 1: then screwed my guy because I had to cancel. There
- 33:59Speaker 1: was I couldn't turn back. So I'm sorry to the
- 34:04Speaker 1: first guy. If you drive a LEXCS as an uber,
- 34:08Speaker 1: I am sorry that I wasted, you know, quite a
- 34:10Speaker 1: lot of your time. I did also for this guy
- 34:13Speaker 1: because he had to cancel, and I know that they
- 34:15Speaker 1: get penalized if they canceled too many times. I ended
- 34:17Speaker 1: up giving him one hundred bucks to for the hassle
- 34:21Speaker 1: and then at least do it, but won't rob him
- 34:23Speaker 1: of the of the commission, but anyway that they might two.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Thank you, have you got one.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I'm just saying, if we've got any questions, enough of
- 34:34Speaker 2: your personal shout outs. Congratulations on the LOGI, by the way,
- 34:37Speaker 2: because that sounded like a fucking speech logan. Let's have
- 34:44Speaker 2: a look here. I don't think I've put my hilarious
- 34:46Speaker 2: story up in time. Anyway, People send us stories like
- 34:51Speaker 2: we're going to be impressed. What's this guy got as
- 34:55Speaker 2: a cone end driver? I'm really looking forward to the
- 34:57Speaker 2: next twenty and oh yeah that's on the horizon. I've
- 34:59Speaker 2: got that new week. Can you please find out more
- 35:02Speaker 2: about hydrogen? Can you please? Basically, this guy this is John,
- 35:07Speaker 2: and he wants us to find out more about hydrogen.
- 35:10Speaker 2: And I'm like, it's been around for years, buddy, blah
- 35:12Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah, but what is the cost. In Australia,
- 35:15Speaker 2: the labor governments are the label governments in both states
- 35:19Speaker 2: and FED show they do not care about farmers or
- 35:22Speaker 2: the environment. Just so you know, not having a crack
- 35:24Speaker 2: at you. I am a farmer fighting against a mineral
- 35:29Speaker 2: sands mines in my backyard and I don't see EV
- 35:33Speaker 2: being that efficient or long term solution for anyone. Let's
- 35:37Speaker 2: ditch the questions today, guys. I don't know. I think
- 35:41Speaker 2: that's it. Have you got anything?
- 35:44Speaker 1: Oh, there's no more big jerky, So there's that.
- 35:46Speaker 2: No more. We've reached the party mix though. Look at
- 35:50Speaker 2: it on us. We went for the healthy option. We
- 35:52Speaker 2: haven't even touched the popcorn. Do you want to a
- 35:58Speaker 2: snake or a nipple. Yeah, I see if I can
- 36:01Speaker 2: get one in your mouth, you're ready. This is not
- 36:03Speaker 2: the case. It might just be driving around in my
- 36:06Speaker 2: feed five hundred before you know it. Oh geez, I've
- 36:10Speaker 2: got terrible aim, useless right.
- 36:12Speaker 1: In his eye, his teeth.
- 36:15Speaker 2: It should be good.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Right right there? Alright.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Anything you want to bring to the party before we go, anything,
- 36:26Speaker 2: anything on the horizon you're excited about. Ford have got
- 36:29Speaker 2: something going on?
- 36:31Speaker 1: Thank you? Yeah?
- 36:33Speaker 2: Do you want to use this as a speakerphone for
- 36:34Speaker 2: anything else coming on in your Life's doctor saying? What's
- 36:39Speaker 2: Delta saying she's.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Got a new album coming out? Yeah, she's doing.
- 36:43Speaker 2: A duet with Donna.
- 36:45Speaker 1: That's what I'd love to say. Slip slop, slap behind
- 36:48Speaker 1: these hazel brown eyes. Anyway. Yeah, Ford's I don't know
- 36:56Speaker 1: what they're launching, but basically three new models they're announcing,
- 37:01Speaker 1: and I suspect one of them is going to be
- 37:03Speaker 1: the new Energy, which I can't break the news on.
- 37:08Speaker 1: So I'll be keen to see if that is and
- 37:09Speaker 1: if so, how expensive it is. Because Ford's another one
- 37:12Speaker 1: that's in deep trouble because range of sales are going well,
- 37:16Speaker 1: so wherever its sales over there.
- 37:19Speaker 2: It's pretty competitive price wise, isn't it.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It is in China? But this is what Ford does.
- 37:24Speaker 1: They go, Okay, we can bring something in really good,
- 37:26Speaker 1: but you know what we'll do. We'll just make that
- 37:28Speaker 1: a little bit too expensive. The issue they're going to
- 37:30Speaker 1: have is they can't bring it in at thirty nine
- 37:33Speaker 1: nine ninety because you can't have this thing that has
- 37:37Speaker 1: an enormous battery and is good, and then you have
- 37:41Speaker 1: a range of plug in hybrid that is astronomically more
- 37:45Speaker 1: expensive that they are doing sort of deals at the
- 37:47Speaker 1: moment on them, but you have to balance the range, right,
- 37:50Speaker 1: So I suspect what they're going to do is try
- 37:51Speaker 1: and fill some gaps and that's where they're going to
- 37:53Speaker 1: get a bit greedy. It didn't work for the MACI
- 37:55Speaker 1: because they started off too high. They then dropped the price,
- 37:58Speaker 1: but not enough. So I don't know. I reckon they
- 38:01Speaker 1: need to play it very carefully, and if they just
- 38:03Speaker 1: do what they always do, I think they're going to
- 38:06Speaker 1: set themselves up for failure. So we'll see, We'll see
- 38:08Speaker 1: how it goes, but it'll be an interesting time.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Well we know, yeah, we know. One of the models.
- 38:14Speaker 2: I don't know what they've got going on, but time
- 38:16Speaker 2: will tell. What's our website, the drivershow dot com.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Contact at the Drivers Show dot com, dot at you
- 38:24Speaker 1: and on install.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Would be great to leave us.
- 38:26Speaker 1: A rating if you haven't. Yes, I actually haven't read
- 38:29Speaker 1: our ratings recently.
- 38:30Speaker 2: We haven't had a rating in a long time. Probably
- 38:32Speaker 2: no one listening.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I might actually just do a little catch up. I
- 38:34Speaker 1: have a little look some of the old ones. I
- 38:36Speaker 1: have a favorite in there. Where is it?
- 38:39Speaker 2: Gordy is a tip rat.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Attack Cars the other podcast? All right, so it's actual?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Is that what you listen to?
- 38:48Speaker 2: Do you listen to the Tack of Cars and podcast religiously.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Gordy is a tip right, Yeah, it's still there, and
- 38:59Speaker 1: this is the other good wye time to go from.
- 39:02Speaker 1: But that's that was a b witch with a one.
- 39:04Speaker 2: That's twelve years old.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Just listen to the latest dip and it was such
- 39:07Speaker 1: a struggle.
- 39:08Speaker 2: To listen to tell you're reading one.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Terrible jokes and even worse takes. I'll be surprised if
- 39:15Speaker 1: this show lasts for much longer. That was four years.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Paul can do better, all right? Well, if you want
- 39:23Speaker 2: to hear it up maybe maybe there'll be a Paul
- 39:27Speaker 2: Adam from Redriven podcast.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Pretty So here's here's one from Here's one from Steph.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Clearly keep guests like Trev and give Paul the flick.
- 39:35Speaker 1: I reckon he's too busy taking first class selfies and
- 39:38Speaker 1: relaxing in the chairman's lounge like a possa.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Anyway, you do love a first class selfie. I have
- 39:44Speaker 2: to say, yeah, do you know what I did? I
- 39:47Speaker 2: did think about you a little bit overseas. I thought
- 39:49Speaker 2: about how good the I was doing. I did first
- 39:52Speaker 2: class from where was I monopoly to Rome? And how
- 39:58Speaker 2: how easy and cheaper was Yeah?
- 40:00Speaker 1: Oh, on the train, on the Tupe.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Yep, I was like, fucking hell, high speed rail. Why
- 40:06Speaker 2: don't we have high speed rail in this country? It
- 40:09Speaker 2: makes so much more sense here than anywhere else.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Because we have a government that rotates every three or
- 40:14Speaker 1: four years and no one can commit to anything, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: then when they do commit to something, you get unions
- 40:18Speaker 1: come and corrupt the whole thing. But anyway, that's enough
- 40:21Speaker 1: about the Westcape.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Time contacted the Driver show dot com dot you see
