- 0:01Because fuck you, that's why is a founding member of the Odd Pods Media
- 0:05Network. Hello, and welcome to Window Cleaners, where we peer in,
- 0:44where we peer in on one particular fandom and make sure you can see it
- 0:48clearly. Uh no, I'm joking, of course, this is bfy tw
- 0:53as per normal. But we've got with us special guests, the gately Berds.
- 0:59Hello, already with such a tree Aaron, Well, hopefully there's more
- 1:03coming. As a huge fan of Gateleabers to the point where I'm actually giving
- 1:08them my money now, I wanted to take this opportunity now that we have
- 1:14them on the show, to showcase what an episode of gate Leapers is like
- 1:18for our listeners, for those who haven't already taken the leap to find out
- 1:21for themselves. So we are actually doing a Gateleaber's Oma show. We are
- 1:26going to play three very similar games to common Gateleabers games, because what's more
- 1:33American than taking British ideas and making them worse. I hope the end result
- 1:40is much like a shorter, quicker episode of gate Leapers, with the added
- 1:42benefit of giving Matt his own medicine. Speaking of, let's meet our special
- 1:49guests, Hi, Matt, how are you doing? Hello Aaron? Hi,
- 1:53I'm ready to you know, have my own medicine. I'm cool about
- 1:57it. I'm chilling. I'm ready, all right, cool, cool,
- 2:00I am. This is intended to be an homage, not parody. I'm
- 2:06genuinely trying to shine a positive light on the great shows that you guys do
- 2:09over there, and not just because you've frequently been inviting me on them.
- 2:15But that helps a lot. Yes, it really does. As someone does
- 2:20the schedule, he was like, okay, you can get them back on
- 2:22now, it's like, okay, So this whole this whole episode is themed
- 2:24around the fandom, as it were, of game shows. There's a lot
- 2:28of game show fans out there, and I know, or at least I
- 2:31believe that you're among them. Is that correct? Yes? Yes, I'm
- 2:36a big game show fan. Have been my entire life, ever since I
- 2:38realized I had eyes that could watch a TV screen. Brilliant, brilliant.
- 2:43Any particular favorites like that got you started into game shows as a big as
- 2:46a youngster, maybe growing up honestly, Like the first thing is being like
- 2:52at my grandparents' house and watching things like fifteen to one the original and Countdown
- 2:57as well, Big Countdown kid. Yeah, yes, definitely write that down.
- 3:02We're gonna have to do Countdown at some point, yes, sir.
- 3:07It's something we've been meaning to do our own. Eight out of ten cats
- 3:09does count down for a long time. You know, that'll be a dream
- 3:13country. We're going to do that at some point. But anyway, the
- 3:17reason I bring it up and the reason I wanted to do game shows on
- 3:22an episode of The gate Leapers is because I had two dreams as a kid
- 3:27growing up, and one of them was to host game shows, which b
- 3:30f y tw lets me do, ye, But the other was to actually
- 3:35be a contestant on a game show, which is what gate Leapers lets me
- 3:38do. Yeah. So I just wanted to show my love with all this.
- 3:43So I am doing my best to make that so. And I hope
- 3:47we have a lot of fun. I'm sure we will. But enough of
- 3:51me kissing up. Let me kiss up some more. It's it's it's Matt's
- 3:57much much better half. It's O dra Hello. Hello. I agree now,
- 4:05I hope so. In my in my head canon, Audre and I
- 4:11have developed something of a rivalry because she won the Taskmaster episode which I wanted,
- 4:20and I won the Greek mythology episode that aud wanted. The right team
- 4:26did win the test. So it's as far as I'm concerned, it is
- 4:29a completely friendly rivalry. I have nothing but respect as far as you're concerned.
- 4:33Yeah, okay, all right, fair enough, fair enough. I
- 4:38accept my accept my medicine, mommy dearest, okay, Uh, we're all
- 4:45taking our medicine today. Yeah, yeah, yeah, listen, I understand
- 4:49and accept to take another dose. And uh, their opponents, it's my
- 4:56usual cohorts and crime. It is Stevie and Ougi Hi Stevien brothers are here
- 5:02with like a returning, amazing show like one. It's like a step above
- 5:05ours in production value. No, no, no, no, you've got
- 5:09two cameras going on. We don't have two cameras you guys, Do you
- 5:15have two cameras? For God's sake. I have to backtrack just a little
- 5:20bit because I'm a bad host already. I got shamed off of asking my
- 5:24question. Do you love game shows? And is there one particular one that
- 5:30you saw growing up maybe that got you into them? I do love game
- 5:36shows because I do love watching TV, and I do love knowing things that
- 5:42I think I pretend other people may not have known very good, and so
- 5:48I grew up watching just like Jeopardy, pretty pretty standard ones. Once upon
- 5:59a time I was good at or answering them in the proper format. If
- 6:02you have watched Gate Leapers, our last round always has some type of format
- 6:08in which you must answer the questions. I always forget, so somewhere along
- 6:14the way, I forgot that Gill jeopardized your Jeopardy skills. You jeopardize my
- 6:18Jeopardy skills? How to hear you? Yiks? Shame anyway, Okay,
- 6:25cool, now that I've properly done. Now I'll move on to Stevie and
- 6:30Aggie. We'll start with Stevie. Stevie, is there a particular game show,
- 6:33perhaps that you enjoyed as a kid, or even as an adult,
- 6:36something that you really liked? Yeah, starting, I have loved game show,
- 6:42especially when I got sick from school and got to stay home and watch
- 6:45him. Yeah. Yeah, And when I did, it was always Price
- 6:48is Right. I loved the Price is Right. Probably one of the reasons
- 6:51I love the version that Aaron came up with so much is because it brings
- 6:56me back to my childhood. And the Price is Right was a game show
- 6:59to head multiple game shows in it, so it's like a bonus show,
- 7:01you know. You get a bunch of different little games to do it and
- 7:04you never know what you're going to see every single on every time, like
- 7:08every time. So that's mine. And then of course coming up like like
- 7:12being your friend getting all the British game shows, cats, count out all
- 7:15that stuff, like, yeah, I loved it, Like I'm a good
- 7:18influence at least the game show side. Yeah, fair enough, okay,
- 7:25And finally, Augie, my coughing friend, ever dying friend, sir,
- 7:33what about what have game shows meant to you in particular? And any of
- 7:38them impacted you? So? Like, growing up, I've seen quite a
- 7:42bit of like Jeopardy and Prices right and all that, but really what was
- 7:46the I would say the gateway drug into game shows and whatnot and comedy game
- 7:54shows was Who's line? I mean, yeah, it's technically a game show,
- 7:59there's prices, but yeah, no, I get it. It's a
- 8:03cool point to make up a game show. Yeah, I agree. It's
- 8:05like how our show is a game show? Quick points? Yeah, anyways,
- 8:11but yeah, it and introduced to you know, nine out of ten
- 8:15cats does count down? Oh my god, it I it's awesome. I
- 8:18wish I got into it sooner. Yeah, that's a lot of fun to
- 8:22be had, all right. I said this was going to be like a
- 8:24gate Leaper's episode, and I meant it. So we're going to do it
- 8:26right, which means our teams need team names. Matt and Oudra, do
- 8:31you happen to have a game show themed team name for us? Yeah,
- 8:35we've been thinking about this. Probably our favorite game show to watch together as
- 8:39a couple where we just don't miss a single episode is Only Connect Nice,
- 8:46hosted by Victoria Carr and Mitchell, and their team names tend to be in
- 8:50a sort of like what they do, like the hobbies, drst trust,
- 8:56and then sort of turn that into some kind of vibe awesome thing. So
- 9:01we were thinking of things like the role players. We play a lot of
- 9:03Dungeons and Dragons, I'll be games, we hike a lot, so the
- 9:07Ramblers y we podcast, so also the Ramblers. Yeah that works on two
- 9:15levels. I like it, but yeah, we also we love game shows
- 9:18and this episode is all about game shows. So we also think that maybe
- 9:22the one we're going to go with is the Showers or the game Showers shows?
- 9:28The exhibition is the Showers. Watch me accidentally say the Showers over and
- 9:39over again, the same. All right, so we have the Showers and
- 9:46Stevie and Augie, you guys are going to team up together. What what
- 9:50game show themed team name do you have for me? So? I mean,
- 9:54we like game shows too, but I think Steve and I could both
- 9:58agree that we're just not clever enough to win most game shows. So I
- 10:03think I don't know if it's a matter of cleverness, it might be stonedness,
- 10:09but I digress. Either way, I think a most fitting game show
- 10:15uh name for us should be one out of two brain cells? You know
- 10:22what? I like it? One out of two brain cells. That is
- 10:30quite simply magnificent. And I really look forward to the final round. We're
- 10:37gonna have to shout that very quickly. Oh God, I didn't didn't feel
- 10:41like going for the Growers, but then we would just be the Glowers.
- 10:50Oh Man, Showers and the Growers. And lastly, it would not be
- 10:56a gate Laborers episode without music. Is something that specifically inspires you from the
- 11:01world of this fandom, specifically game shows. And we'll start in the same
- 11:05order I did from the start of the show, Matt, do you have
- 11:09a game show muse? Yes, I do have a game show muse.
- 11:13And I'm now realizing now that I'm playing the show or the format, how
- 11:18random and out of context. It seems to just be like, what's a
- 11:20muse? Now, It's something that inspires you and is going to push you
- 11:28to do well today. Oh yeah, yeah, no, absolutely, you
- 11:31explained it perfectly. I'm just questioning my own format. But no, this
- 11:35is good, this is this is a good little test for that. So
- 11:39my muse. Is any of you familiar with the Crystal Maze, the game
- 11:46show from from the nineties. Originally, yes, I believe there was a
- 11:50revival recently hosted by Richard Iwardi, and that was one of my obsessions as
- 11:56a kid. I loved the Crystal Maze. After watching game shows for little
- 12:00bit, it suddenly blew my mind that game shows could be physical and still
- 12:03and like tell a story along the way, And so I was like,
- 12:07this is inspiring so much so that when I was around thirteen, I think
- 12:13I was I was tasked with looking after all of the neighbor kids in the
- 12:18area for the for the first time. I'd never been given that responsibility before,
- 12:22and my first thought was, well, I'm still a child, I'm
- 12:26one of the kids. So I turned my parents house into a Crystal Maze
- 12:33with games in every room like that, which they sort of seven to ten
- 12:37year olds that I was looking after, proceeded to destroy and completely ruined the
- 12:43house. So I'd never got in more troubles as a youth than wrecking my
- 12:48parents' house to play a game of the Crystal Maize, which, if you've
- 12:54seen the end of the Crystal Maze, they finished with a game called the
- 12:56Crystal Dome where you throw lots of pieces of paper everywhere. Now pieces of
- 13:01paper well much smaller and much hotterer to pick up. I did it over
- 13:05the cost of about two days. That is so the Crystal Maze and and
- 13:11my My follies absolutely fantastic. I I caught a few episodes of the version
- 13:18with the weird bald guy from the Dungeons and Dragons movie whose yes I cannot
- 13:22remember, Richard something. Yeah, Richard O'Brien. He wrote the Rocky Horror
- 13:28Picture Show as well. Yeah yeah, yeah, he was in that as
- 13:30well. Yeah yeah, yeah, multi talented guy but did famous for three
- 13:35very disconnected projects, so weird, Like I remember, I never saw it
- 13:41hearing something, you'd recognize him the instant you saw him though, And of
- 13:46course the Richard Iowadi version because because, of course, because he's just hilarious
- 13:52and I adore him. Okay, excellent, excellent muse love that a lot,
- 13:56uh Audra your turn. What inspires you about the world of game shows?
- 14:01In two? In true Gaateleapers fashion, I have two muses. At
- 14:09least we did it for the Greek Mythology episodes. Yeah, it's a wild
- 14:18ride. So my two muses. One is that game shows. I feel
- 14:26like game shows and panel shows in general are coming in strong right now.
- 14:33We have tons of ones in the UK that we watch, and also college
- 14:37humors drop out, they have all they always have a panel show going at
- 14:43some point in time, doing them incredibly well, and so it is such
- 14:48a thriving medium right now. I am being fed. Yes, it is
- 14:52so inspiring. Yes. And the other one just for the audacity. If
- 14:56anyone has seen the TV show Righteous Gemstones, there is uh heard of it,
- 15:01though there Southern Uncle has Baby Billy's Bible bonkers style Bible based game show
- 15:16trying his damn dist to get made through the Mega Church. It is pivotal
- 15:26in many moments of conflict throughout and has a good payoff at the end.
- 15:31It's a great payoff at the end. It is incredible the audacity of this
- 15:37man, and it's great. So I'm gonna hope to channel a bit of
- 15:43that audacity today. I'm sure you can do it. I'm excited to see
- 15:48that is quite audacious. I'm excited to see acity and certain these games there
- 15:54will be some audacity needed. And let's move over to our other team,
- 16:00the one out of two brain cells, Stevie. I don't know which you
- 16:04represent, the one or the other one, but I appreciate you not saying
- 16:10it. I really appreciate you not saying it. True. You're welcome,
- 16:14buddy, Stevie. What inspires you about game shows? Well, just like
- 16:18the Gately person, I came up with more than one muse as well.
- 16:22The first one is something I rarely ever get, but it's key to game
- 16:26shows and it's something Without it, I don't believe it's part of a game
- 16:30show, and that would be points. So I'm gonna say five hundred points
- 16:34points at the beginning. Okay, so that's that's my first use, and
- 16:41we're gonna, we're gonna so I understand the camera literally literally never had any
- 16:48contestant award themselves points. I am genuinely impressed. Thank you, if only
- 16:56they counted, damn it. The other one, the don't know how,
- 17:00my other muse, and the one who's gonna give me inspiration and strength throughout
- 17:04this entire game today is my fictional friend Jason. He's here in spirit,
- 17:12but he's never hearing. Buddy. That's fat. No, that's absolutely fat.
- 17:18Six times. Now we're onto six. Six, he's gonna be go
- 17:23ahead six. I'm just I'm just gonna move on to say. It's gonna
- 17:29be heartbreaking when he finally does get on the show. The last two times
- 17:33I've been on, Kate Lee, he's been there and you haven't. So
- 17:37whose fault is that? Really? Yeah, he was there when I was
- 17:45on. Yeah, maybe I don't exist. Okay, I didn't take those
- 17:55that rabbit hole. Don't go down that one, all right, Agie,
- 17:57what about game shows inspires you? Okay? Well, unlike gay Leapers,
- 18:02I think I failed the mission and only brought one. We'll take it.
- 18:04But However, I would say, my inspiration is you're about thing. This
- 18:11is five hundred point I'm gonna kill you. I got You're on a game
- 18:15show erin and you're desperately need of a letter, right and you can't think
- 18:22of what letter you should guess you should think of a flexible letter, and
- 18:26people oftentimes forget this letter. So my inspiration, my muse today is the
- 18:30letter why, because why is both a consonant and a vowel and a question.
- 18:41What did I have right now? I did know what I was expecting,
- 18:47OK, but I wasn't expecting a big why. You genuinely got me
- 18:51that when it comes to me, and you're always left with a big why.
- 18:56But I did find something how interesting? Apparently when I went to double
- 19:03check my my you know, fact check myself to make sure I wasn't making
- 19:06a big idiot at myself, I putting a giant Y in a picture frame.
- 19:11Apparently the letter W is also confused as a vowel or consonant. So
- 19:15today, uh, one out of two brain cells is going to get that
- 19:19W. Yeah, yeah, all right, well we'll find out. Put
- 19:27a giant why. I very good. That's the best piece of mon I've
- 19:37seen genuinely could not have won. All credit goes to my niece who did
- 19:41it for me, because I cannot cut in a straight line. All Right,
- 19:48as much as I've enjoyed this nonsense, that's enough of this nonsense.
- 19:52Let's get on some games. We're going to start with game one. Where
- 19:56else would you start? Game one is going to be the big board.
- 20:00I have a big board exactly as it sounds, of twelve questions segmented into
- 20:06three tiers of difficulty. There are four one thousand dollars tier questions. These
- 20:11are the easiest and they're worth one point each. There are four thirty two
- 20:17thousand dollar tier questions. These are medium difficulty. They are worth two points
- 20:21each. And finally, there are four million dollar tier questions. These are
- 20:26hard difficulty and they are three points each. Our teams are going to be
- 20:30taking turns, choosing and answering questions off the board until we've done all twelve.
- 20:36So I'm going to start with our guests, the showers. Would you
- 20:41like to select a tier to take in a question from now? When Aaron
- 20:48was left on the show and played this game, Aaron was straight for the
- 20:52difficult questions. Yep, so I feel like games master. To games Master,
- 20:56you need, at least for the first one, need to assert dominance
- 21:00of Look I was, I wasn't gonna put it that way. So let's
- 21:07let's go for a million dollars. This. This is about a million dollars.
- 21:11This. This is about Matt trying to assert dominance over me, and
- 21:14I am loving it. Uh. Here is your million dollar question for three
- 21:21points. This show was hosted by a weatherman from Buffalo, and it's gameplay
- 21:26of having contestants form questions one word at a time probably inspired the simplest title
- 21:36in game show history. Oh interesting. Okay, First of all, I
- 21:42don't want to feel I don't want to feel stressed when answered. This is
- 21:45the first question we've been posed, first question with us as a team.
- 21:48I don't feel stressed because I'm usually like a really stressed host. So I'm
- 21:52gonna be I'm gonna be cool contestant. Matt, I'm gonna pop on these
- 21:56sunglasses. I can feel there, you go nice? Cool? There you
- 22:00going to take a hit from a bong? There like it. Now we're
- 22:04partying. Feel free to discuss. Oh, I've forgotten all game shows.
- 22:14Now I can read it if you'd like, I've forgotten one word at a
- 22:18time. Yeah, we thinking American because Weatherman from Buffalo, Yeah, weather
- 22:25Man from Buffalo. I feel like it was I don't know if I recognized
- 22:30this one, but I feel like it's going to be something like Questions or
- 22:36quiz. If they say that it's inspired like a simple title. Do you
- 22:42remember a show called questions or Quiz? No, but that doesn't mean much.
- 22:52Okay, well cool, Matt says, let's just go with with what
- 22:56my teammates saying, because I I don't think I know this. I think
- 22:59I'm going to be a little rough on the American ones. I think I
- 23:03think it's a show called questions. You're going with questions? That is incorrect.
- 23:11I'm sorry, Stevie. How do you have any guesses just for fun?
- 23:15If you don't, I do, I don't. Okay, this isn't
- 23:18right now, I'm thinking about it. Damn it whatever password? No,
- 23:22damn it's not password. I'll give you. I'll give you another hint.
- 23:26This is not for points, but a game show host would most likely say
- 23:29this word after saying ready, oh sat no, go go is the exact
- 23:37right answer. It is go the game show is simply called Go and Go.
- 23:42It was on for I think two years back in the eighties. Oh
- 23:47man, oh wow, so yeah, yeah, and it was. It
- 23:49was hosted by Kevin O'Connell from from our own local local news station here in
- 23:56Buffalo. So I always enjoy bringing that little fact. Wiight up anyway,
- 24:00no points yet, but it's still early. I don't care. Yeah,
- 24:06man, it worked for me, all right? One out of two brain
- 24:08cells? What difficulty would you like to tackle? Do you want to go
- 24:12into mid tier? Yeah? Thirty thirty two thousand tiers, say Stevie and
- 24:18August. So how many question clarifying? How many million dollar tier questions were
- 24:21there? Four? There's four of each, there's no there's now three left
- 24:23because they've taken one. There's four easy, four medium, four hearts.
- 24:26Yeah, all right, so here's your thirty two thousand dollars question for two
- 24:30points. The British version of this American show featured Brad's Box and Leslie's Luxury
- 24:37as spaces you could land on when those men hosted it. I think I
- 24:47know it is good because I have no idea. Is it Hollywood Squares?
- 24:51It is not. I'm sorry, just for fun showers. Do you have
- 24:56any guesses? Yeah, I think of west End squares, the west End.
- 25:07No, I can't think of what that would be. No, this
- 25:11is easier, I think than you were making it. It's wheel of fortune.
- 25:15They were, they were a wheel of fortune. Spaces, yeah,
- 25:18there were, There are spaces on the wheel you could land on it.
- 25:21It was all about numbers, all right, no points for anybody. Yet,
- 25:25we're gonna go back to the showers. Where would you like to go?
- 25:26Now? All three two? Trying to get some points on the bullet.
- 25:30Should weah? Should we go with a one thousand dollars? Go with
- 25:33a one thousand? Try to just like it? Yeah you're some Yeah,
- 25:36let's do that. Okay, So we're gonna we're gonna try one of the
- 25:38easier ones for one thousand dollars. This is a one point question. This
- 25:42show had four hosts in the UK and four hosts in the US. Looks
- 25:48like we'll be Colin Kennedy who drew level with a Carnival Barker. Ha I
- 25:55like that. Oh okay, I see what you've done at lots of different
- 26:00hosts from across Is that price price is right? Bob Barker? That I
- 26:06know and oh, Drew, Okay, yeah, price is right. The
- 26:10price is right, is absolutely correct. You have one point? Well,
- 26:14yes, all right, I probably would have gotten well, uh one out
- 26:21of two brain cells. Where would you like to go? Now? All
- 26:23three are still available. I think we should go for the easy one.
- 26:29You're not going to get anything out of Get a little uh something, Get
- 26:33a little, a little, a little points under your belt, a little
- 26:36confidence little In that case, here is your one thousand dollars question for one
- 26:41point, hosted by Perry U Banks, Rafferty Forsyth and McHale. When contestants
- 26:49shout higher, they're not looking for more weeds. Sorry, Stevie. I
- 26:55don't like this game. And there are two correct answers because this show is
- 27:00known by a different title in the UK. I think I know higher.
- 27:06I think I know what this is. You're not saying it. I don't.
- 27:08I don't because I have I have. You are allowed to speak it
- 27:12aloud. I won't count it as your answer. And unless you turn to
- 27:15me and say we're saying this, okay, okay, we can't look at
- 27:22Aaron all right, don't don't walk eyes. I'll just take the answer.
- 27:26So I'm thinking it's I can't remember if it's high card or if it's like
- 27:30it's not prices right, because that's not okay, So you think high card,
- 27:37I'm pretty sure. Okay, I'll go with that. Okay, cool,
- 27:40you say it high card? Uh, that is incorrect just for fundies.
- 27:48Showers, do you think you know it? Yeah? Is this play
- 27:51your cards right or card sharks? Either one? I would have accepted.
- 27:55Card sharks is the name that sounds. I mean high card is basically what
- 27:59the game is. You guess whether it's hire or lower, but it's not
- 28:02known by that name TV. I'm afraid. Are cod sharks in the in
- 28:06the US? Yes? Called cod sharks? Do you every time you take
- 28:10a British show in turn American, does it always have to include shocks because
- 28:14shock tank came from the British dragons Den. Yeah. Yeah, it's got
- 28:18to be aggressive, that's why. Okay, okay, Showers, Where would
- 28:26you like to go this time? All three tiers are still available, but
- 28:29there's only two thousand dollars questions left? Should we should we move up one
- 28:33and go for a two point? Yeah? Yeah, see if we see
- 28:37what we can get, see if we can get something Okay, you want
- 28:38to go for a thirty two thousand dollars question, here is please for two
- 28:42points. This show's most popular run was from nineteen eighty three to nineteen eighty
- 28:48nine, and while Temptation was an alternate title, its true name sounds like
- 28:55you're in for a hell of a bargain, right, I love a bargain?
- 29:07I mean it kind of. It kind of makes me think Supermarket Sweep,
- 29:11because the supermarket you can get a bargain. That was always a fun
- 29:15show. But I think that had runs since the fifties. I think that's
- 29:19a show that goes way on back, so it wouldn't just be from the
- 29:22eighties. And I say the most popular run was in the eighties, Did
- 29:26you say, Aaron? Its most popular run was nineteen eighty three to nineteen
- 29:30eighty nine. But did you call it Supermarket Sweep? Call it supermarket Sweep.
- 29:37I'm trying to think there was a second shopping show, Oh yeah,
- 29:40but I cannot remember what it was called. But I do think that Supermarket
- 29:42Sweep was always more popular than it, And so I'm down to go for
- 29:48Okay, this is the the shark Supermarket Sweep. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 29:56yeah, Okay, so you're you're going with we're going with supermarket supermarket
- 30:03sweep. Okay, that is incorrect. I'm afraid Stevie and Aggie, do
- 30:07you have a guest? Is just for fun? Is it to drop?
- 30:11No? Although I think maybe that was the other shopping show, remember watching
- 30:15that? Does the name Sale of the Century ring any bells? Sale of
- 30:22the Century was rebranded as Temptation in the two thousands, and yeah, it
- 30:29was most popular run was when it was hosted by Jim Perry back in the
- 30:33late to mid eighties. All right, so no points there. We're going
- 30:37to go back over to one out of two brain cells. All difficulty tiers
- 30:40are still available. We're going to the low one. We gotta get selted.
- 30:42All right, back to level one. Stevie and Aggie, here is
- 30:47your clue for the thousand dollars and one point. What is a long running
- 30:52US game show that would use this answer format? And only just got a
- 30:56British version hosted by Stephen Fry? Which format? What? Wait a minute,
- 31:03what do you want me to read it? Confused? Okay? This
- 31:07format? What is a long running US game show that would use this answer
- 31:11format? And only just got a British version, hosted by Stephen Fry.
- 31:15Okay, I'm an idiot. We go with that one? Yeah, go
- 31:18ahead, Jeopardy. It is Jeopardy. That's one point I thought. So
- 31:22I just want to make sure it wasn't just me thinking of like, oh
- 31:26yeah, just go with me on this flo I wasn't sure you're going.
- 31:29I'm just like, okay, I just agree with him because I have no
- 31:30idea. What were you going to say? That was clever? Ye?
- 31:33That was good? All right, yeah, right right, clever cles.
- 31:37Well done. Okay, there's more to come, So we're back to the
- 31:40showers. There's only one thousand dollars to your question left. Otherwise everything's wide
- 31:45open. I saw want to take it. That's the only one we've gotten,
- 31:48right, and then it falls in all of us to step our game
- 31:51up. All right, all right, so you want to go with a
- 31:53level one, Yes, a thousand dollars toier question for one point. Chevy's
- 32:00got nothing on this high Speed Big Brain Bradley Walsh hosted Trivia Fest Just ask
- 32:06the professor on our own version. Okay, yeah, I've got this one.
- 32:12It's a It's a fantastic tea time quiz show in the UK. We
- 32:16are talking about the chase. That's absolutely right, It is the chase,
- 32:22one thousand percent. We did our own version one time. I spent god
- 32:25knows how long putting the program together and we did exactly once. Oneyh that's
- 32:31so good. But I mean, the team just destroyed Andy, so it's
- 32:37like they took so much money. I was like, maybe we should take
- 32:40a break before we do this again. All right, so we are back
- 32:47over to one out of two brain cells. There is just the thirty two
- 32:51thousand and million dollar tiers left. I want to do thirty two K,
- 32:53sir, thirty two K. Yeah, let's do it, all right?
- 32:57You ready? Yes, here is your thirty two thousand dollars question. For
- 33:00two points, this show was a revival of a game called second chance.
- 33:06Newton's Loss says, this show won't peter out. You can banks on it.
- 33:15Hm hmmm, what I know who you're talking about? Yeah, I
- 33:30don't know who he's talking about some of the show, he repeated one more
- 33:35time. Sure, this show was a revival of a game called second chance.
- 33:40Newton's Loss says, this show won't peter out, you can banks on
- 33:45it. I got nothing with the goal with Locomotion. I got nothing that
- 34:00popular game show locomos. You don't join the train at the right home on
- 34:07board for your ten thousand dollars? All right, no points? That is
- 34:09incouraged. Watch yes, Showers, do you have a guest just for funzies?
- 34:17No? The only thing that was coming to mind was maybe deal or
- 34:20no deal because banking. Yeah, I like that, But no, this
- 34:23was press your luck. This was press your luck. Press your luck was
- 34:29was The original prototype version was called Second Chance. It was hosted by Peter
- 34:32Tamarkin. In the nineteen eighties, Todd Newton hosted the revival Whammy on the
- 34:38Game Show Network, and Elizabeth Banks hosts it now on ABC. Yeah what's
- 34:45he talking about? Yeah? Sorry, sorry sorry, They're only gonna get
- 34:50tougher premiere, Showers, it's back to you. There is one thirty two
- 34:54thousand dollars question left, and there are three million dollar questions. We we're
- 35:00big cowards, aren't we? Yeah? No question? The last one is
- 35:05yours for two points. This show originated in nineteen sixty three, but its
- 35:10current iteration doesn't appear to be waning in popularity At Hall Oh, is there
- 35:23a Wayne who hosts a game show that is a modern version of something from
- 35:29the nineteen sixties. I don't know when. When was whose line original?
- 35:34I don't think it was the sixties. I don't know. I didn't know
- 35:36if there was like an original, because sometimes they have them and then their
- 35:38revival. We don't know that it's a revival. And I will sound aft
- 35:43if I sneered at that and it turns out someone who's listening to this going
- 35:45I remember the Flower Power version? Whose lines it? Anyway? Actually very
- 35:51much? Could you read the clue one more time? I sure this show
- 35:59originated in nineteen sixty three, but its current iteration doesn't appear to be waning
- 36:05in popularity at all. What, apart from Jeopardy, has been on the
- 36:15air for just havever a long time in America. I don't Wheel of Fortune,
- 36:21but I feel like I think we've done that one. Price is Right,
- 36:25But we've done that one Jeopardy, We've done that one. Uh dude.
- 36:36And maybe I'm just guessing that it's America. Maybe it's actually you can't.
- 36:38Yeah, you rack your brains now. Yeah, and we'll see how
- 36:44long it is before Iron Times is out. Yeah, I'm gonna have to
- 36:49put you for an answer. Yay, university challenge. Yeah, let's go
- 36:53a university challenge one. I love it. It's wrong, but I love
- 36:58it. Stevie and Augie, do you have a guess? You look like
- 37:01you might have known. I think it is right. No, it's not.
- 37:06No, it's the show that's on before price is right. Let's make
- 37:10a deal. Wrong, Let's make a deal. Currently hosted by Wayne Brady
- 37:15and previously hosted by Monty Hall. I got confused. Oh sorry, these
- 37:21yers are apparently way harder than I thought they were. No, they're easy.
- 37:24I'm sure everybody at home is getting that. Yeah, let's see,
- 37:29we're we're gonna we're gonna swap back over to the one out of two brain
- 37:32cells. Now, here's the bad news. You're stuck with a million dollar
- 37:35questions because that's all that's left. So but this is where three points.
- 37:40Ready, technically, here is your million million dollar question for three points.
- 37:45Penn Gilette of Penn and Teller Fame hosted this game show that asked a simple
- 37:51question for half a million dollars, how much can you guess about a person
- 37:55by just looking at them. I'm familiar with the concept. I just don't
- 38:05the name of the show is just not coming to mind. Oh God,
- 38:12what's what's what's synonymous with? What's anonymous with? Uh? Deducing? Deducing
- 38:19someone? It's called recognition. It's called because that's what that show is about.
- 38:30Psycho. Yeah, like psych it's an amazing name. It's wrong,
- 38:35but it's an amazing just for fun show ers. Do you have a guess
- 38:39I've got I don't think it's right, but I remember someone maybe who was
- 38:44Pendula, hosted a show that was literally just heads or tails where it was
- 38:46just like flip something. That's just that's a pretty simple question. So I'm
- 38:51gonna say something. I don't remember that show, but I'm gonna have to
- 38:55look it up now. Sure Game of Chances didn't do a show like that
- 39:00in the UK. I'm thinking just thinking, like push the button. No,
- 39:05this shows famous magicians and deck. The show I was the show I
- 39:08was looking for, is identity Idy? It was? Yeah, it was
- 39:15on for one season, didn't last long, but there are full episodes of
- 39:19it on YouTube if you're curious. I recall it. Yeah, okay,
- 39:22so we go back over to the showers again. No choice, gotta be
- 39:25a million dollar questions of good luck. It is worth three points if you
- 39:29can get it. Uh, here is your question. This big money game
- 39:34show was chuck full of hard trivia, though it could get a little Jerry
- 39:38Springer as it asked contestants if they'd screw over their team members for more money.
- 39:45Oh. Interesting. There was a show like this in the UK that
- 39:53called Golden Balls nice. The whole premise was will you screw over the teammates
- 40:00that you're that you're playing with. That's better than my options that I had,
- 40:07because all I could think of was the mole. But that's not a
- 40:10game show. That was a reality show. Game show elements, but show
- 40:15elements yours is probably a better should go with Golden Balls. Golden Balls fun
- 40:21to say, isn't it? Either way? It is super fun to say.
- 40:24It's also super wrong. But I enjoyed that. Stevie and Ague,
- 40:29do you have a guess? I don't know the name of that. If
- 40:31it's the thing I'm thinking of where the dude told his teammate that he was
- 40:35going to like portrayal Mexter or whatever so we could rack up more money.
- 40:39If that's the same one, that's interesting. No. Chuck Wallery hosted it
- 40:46in the US. Jerry Springer hosted it in the UK. It's called Greed
- 40:52simply. I mean, it's a good name for that show it was.
- 40:54It was for two million dollars here in the US, and players played as
- 41:00team of five and between the final four questions, the eliminator would show up
- 41:05land on somebody and they'd have to choose somebody from their team to eliminate to
- 41:08take their share of the money. Oh wow, but they would have to
- 41:13do like a one question shootout against them, so you know, and and
- 41:16to sweeten the pot, that gave them an extra ten thousand dollars just for
- 41:20doing it. So it's like, do I walk away from guaranteed money and
- 41:22keep the team the same? YadA, YadA. Anyway, I'm kidding,
- 41:25I'm geeking out. And there's only one question left and it goes to one
- 41:29out of two brain cells for a million dollars and three points. Stevie and
- 41:32Augie, here you go for three points. This game show holds the honor
- 41:36of being the only one ever hosted by Snoop Dogg. I figured you would
- 41:43have figured that one out me. Snoop hosted a show. Yep, no
- 41:52funny word tricks at all and this one is just a straight up the show.
- 41:57Snoop Dogg hosted this. That's it all you need. What could it
- 42:00possibly have been? Maybe this was? This was your hollow I prought you.
- 42:07I watched it too, I just don't remember squares if it's a baking
- 42:12show with Martha Stewart. I really do not know what this is. Do
- 42:16you have any idea? I don't know. Let's do a Snoop Dogg remodeling
- 42:27show called the Doghouse that I would totally watch that it's wrong, but the
- 42:37shower is do you have a guess? Just is it? Is it Donkey
- 42:42style the game? No, he actually hosted the most recent iteration of The
- 42:47Jokers Wild. It was on TBS and TNT for a while for a couple
- 42:52of years there. I remember seeing some commercials for that. Actually, yeah,
- 42:57I was gonna say that Tooker's Wild and like, all right, minutes,
- 43:00so the Toper's Wild is our legally distinct Yeah we did, Okay,
- 43:10So at the end of this game, we have learned that my questions are
- 43:14too damn hard. So the rest of this game should be interesting. But
- 43:17as it stands, the show I'll check where the producers assistant to see what
- 43:22the scores are the showers. I realized at the last second. There's usually
- 43:28a bit about you know how to check the scores, Uh, the showers.
- 43:31The showers have two points, and one out of two brain cells appropriately
- 43:36has one point. Yeah, so the shower is in a slight bit of
- 43:39a lead. But we'll see what happens when we play game two right after
- 43:43this. I'm Richie aka Midnight Agent Raw. I'm Devin aka Special Delivery Dev.
- 43:57We're the Supermediate Bros. Podcast and each week we give a comedically informative
- 44:01take on movies, music, television, pro wrestling, and much more.
- 44:06Check us out at Supermedia prospodcast dot com, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or
- 44:12anywhere else that you can listen to podcasts shades on. We're all hey man,
- 44:30welcome back. It is time for game two. Game two is called
- 44:32appropriately enough, play your cards right. This is a trivia slash intuition game.
- 44:38The team in second place, that is, the one out of two
- 44:42brain cells are going to choose from one of two categories, and we'll start
- 44:45by asking them to bid on the first item. If you're within a certain
- 44:50range of the correct value, you'll earn a point, and for every item
- 44:53after that, you'll need to say whether the value is higher or lower than
- 44:58the previous item, and you'll earn and a point for each correct guess,
- 45:01and a bonus point if you can give me the value exactly right. The
- 45:07game ends after both teams have tackled a list of seven items. So I
- 45:10will tell you straight out now the values that we are looking for. I've
- 45:15got two categories here. They are American game shows and British game shows.
- 45:22And what I'm looking for in terms of value is the maximum possible payout,
- 45:27oh, the biggest possible win this show. So which category would you like?
- 45:34Would you like to take the American game shows that you might know a
- 45:37little bit better, or would you like to take British game shows that you
- 45:42might not know as well, but you might get luckier. You could get
- 45:45it away from them so they don't get them. Yeah, I mean they
- 45:49do have a tiny edge, and that one of them is British or was
- 45:54I don't know, But tune into the Billies, you see, that's fantastic.
- 46:08I think we're gonna stick with the American one. You're gonna stick with
- 46:10the American ones. All right. In that case, show where is you
- 46:14will get the British game shows. Uh, and we'll start with the American
- 46:19game shows and one out of two brain cells. One of two brain cells.
- 46:22We're gonna start with the show called five hundred questions? What was the
- 46:29maximum possible payout on the show? Five hundred questions? Do we have the
- 46:34year it came out? No? Damn it? All right? Five hundred
- 46:38questions? How much do you shoot? How much did you get paid for
- 46:42answering five hundred questions on pay you a dollar a question? No, I'm
- 46:47thinking I think it's like close to like the I think it's an older show,
- 46:57so I'm gonna say it's like twenty yeah, all right, twenty five
- 47:01grand, sir. I should have said the range I would give you is
- 47:05a fifty percent. If you're within fifty percent of the actual range, I
- 47:08will give you a point. So how out of range are we? Well?
- 47:13I'm saying that to give you the opportunity to change your answer if you'd
- 47:15like, but may not. It may not change it. You may something
- 47:21twenty five thousand dollars. You're sticking with twenty five thousand dollars. Okay.
- 47:25The bad news is no point for you. You are way out more than
- 47:30fifty percent. Uh. The actual top prize on that show was five hundred
- 47:34thousand dollars, so half a million? Wow? When was this a thousand?
- 47:39By questions? This was recent twenty ten's I think, oh, okay,
- 47:44that's fair. I didn't know that. All right, So here is
- 47:46your second item. No points yet, but now all you have to do
- 47:49is tell me higher or lower? Dirty rotten Cheater, is the maximum payout
- 47:55on this game show? Higher or lower than half a million dollars? What
- 48:00do you think, aggie, dirty rotten Cheater. It's probably like a game
- 48:02where you have to go gainst everybody else. You think it's probably higher half
- 48:05a mil? Yeah, yeah, higher, you're going higher than half a
- 48:07million dollars? Yeah? Uh, that is wrong, it is lower,
- 48:13uh, dirty rotten chairs hard. I will still give you a chance to
- 48:16get a bonus point. You know it's lower. What do you think that
- 48:20a third chance? No? No, no, you got you got to
- 48:22try and guess what the actual number. The actual number is. You have
- 48:24to be exactly right in this case, so no more getting close enough.
- 48:28I'm afraid this is this. I'll tell you right now. This one's tough.
- 48:30So just take a shot. All right, So it's less than half
- 48:34a mill yep, it is less than half quarter mill. No, no,
- 48:37it's gonna be something weird, like something stupid. Yeah, like four
- 48:40hundred and fifty thousand. No, no, no, three hundred and seventy
- 48:45ten grand. No, it's not that. No, no, no,
- 48:49no, we're not going grand. No, that's no. You don't pick
- 48:52something. Please, we'll go one hundred and seventy five thousand. Okay,
- 48:55interesting shot. Random shot was probably your best move. It was actually sixty
- 48:59one one thousand dollars. Is the maximum amount for dursificator? Sixty one thousand
- 49:04dollars? Yeah, all right, I was closer, So now I'll ask
- 49:07you again. The next item on the list, debt, was the game
- 49:13showed debts highest payout higher or lower than sixty one thousand dollars debt debt,
- 49:22It's gonna be something like fifty thou get pissed if I say higher? What
- 49:27do you think it? I'll get sure higher, higher, higher. You're
- 49:30gonna go higher than sixty one thousand dollars. Yes, and that is wrong.
- 49:35It is actually lower. Sorry. Uh, the maximum amount on debt
- 49:39is lower than that, but you can still earn a bonus point if you
- 49:42can tell me what that amount is. Oh, have you heard of any
- 49:45of these games shows? Because I certainly haven't. Lower than that amount is
- 49:51ten grand? Are you going with ten grand? Yes, it's twenty grandy?
- 49:57So close. Sorry, Okay, we're gonna move from debt to your
- 50:04fourth item. Nearly there, guys, the chamber is the maximum prize on
- 50:10the chamber higher than debt or lower. It's got to be higher, higher,
- 50:15higher, got to be higher. It is higher. It is higher.
- 50:19That is a point. I was going to quit it if it was
- 50:21lower, it was lower, but ten you're like, you know what I'm
- 50:28done? I mean you'll be playing for the grand prize six hundred and fifty
- 50:31dollars. What countdown gives out like a tea set or something. So I
- 50:37don't want to yell hill. So I could always go lower, But can
- 50:43you tell me what the actual maximum amount you could win on the chamber is?
- 50:47I'll go thirty two thousand, sure, Sure, it's one hundred and
- 50:51twenty six thousand. Yeah, it's a big jump, one hundred and twenty
- 50:54six thousand. So next item, the game show Amnies does the game show
- 51:01Amnesia have a higher or lower maximum payout than one hundred and twenty six thousand
- 51:07dollars. I've only known the video game at Amnesia, and I doubt it
- 51:10has anything to do with money. What do you think. I don't think
- 51:15it's higher than that. I think it's lower lower. I'm probably wrong,
- 51:19Yeah, probably lower lower. You're probably wrong. You are wrong. It
- 51:24is higher, almost as if it was a fifty to fifty shot. What
- 51:30was that game about something? I think there was something there where do you
- 51:37think they may have been something? You know? You know the values higher
- 51:43than one hundred and twenty six thousand. You tell me what the value is
- 51:46for a bonus point? No, just just take a shot. Try something?
- 51:52Well, this is this is gettable? It was what? What was
- 51:54higher? Higher than one hundred and twenty six thousand, two hundred twenty five
- 52:00Sure it's two hundred and fifty thousand dollars? Was like a quarter of a
- 52:07million dollars? And this game show asked you questions about yourself and your past
- 52:12life, like like, well, they talked to your family. They talk
- 52:16to your family and your friends and look things up public information about you and
- 52:21stuff. Oh, I thought it was like my past lives, like you've
- 52:27been resrected by when when you were Lancelot? Did you know when you killed
- 52:35all you guys? How do you feel about that? Now you've got two
- 52:37more chances to get points on this one. So yep, so amnesia amnesia
- 52:43was two hundred and fifty thousand? Was paranoia? Have a higher or lower
- 52:49maximum maximum payout than amnesia? Paranoia? Horror? Paranoia? Like? This
- 52:58is why I even higher than that? Now it's a it's a part I
- 53:00thing either just fucking with us? High? Higher? Yeah? Higher?
- 53:05Higher? It is, right? And where the point it is? Higher?
- 53:07God? So can you tell me now what is paranoia's maximum payout?
- 53:12You think half a miller, full mill one million dollars, it's a good
- 53:19shot, but it's one and a half million dollars. Fuck you? Well,
- 53:28you got a point for getting it right that it was higher, So
- 53:30enjoy that you've got one last chance. And this is this is for another
- 53:35point. Is the power of ten have a higher maximum payout than paranoia?
- 53:40Or is it lower? No one said there'd be math higher or lower the
- 53:45power of ten. What's the power of ten? I've never heard of the
- 53:49power of ten? God, damn it, it's gonna be stupid higher lower,
- 53:52lower, lower, you're going lower. Yeah, that's wrong, it's
- 53:55actually higher. It's angry higher than one five million. You can still get
- 54:00a bonus point if you can tell me what is the maximum payout on this
- 54:05show. This is one and a half million right now, higher than one
- 54:07and a half something dumb round number five? Sure? Five million? Yeah,
- 54:15best game. I love you guys. The show is called the Power
- 54:21of Ten. It's ten million dollars. I was so trying to give you
- 54:28a gimme on the last one and I just couldn't. I asked you what's
- 54:31the highest value on a show called the Power of ten? And you said
- 54:36five? Oh man, you asked us to remember that a cost of me.
- 54:47So after all of that, you've gotten two points, yeah, more
- 54:52than the first game out of a possible fourteen or double our points in the
- 54:55second game ever, kick it as all right, showers, I wish you
- 55:00the best of luck. Yes, that's okay. So your list was British
- 55:07game shows, so all the values will be in British pounds, and we're
- 55:12going to start with Gordon Ramsey's bank balance. What was the give me a
- 55:19bit on what you think the maximum payout was on Gordon Ramsey's bank balance.
- 55:24So God Ramsey was with Channel four for a long time, for like most
- 55:29of his career, and that tends to pay out in the mid range.
- 55:32Stuff Like the format I'm going to go for with this is if it sounds
- 55:37like it's BBC, it's going to be a lower payout. It's ITV,
- 55:40it's going to have a massive payout, and if it's Channel four, it's
- 55:43going to be somewhere in the middle. And if you don't know your history
- 55:46of British television broadcasting, then I'm sorry, Let's say two hundred and fifty
- 55:53pounds two hundred comfortable with that, and yes, that's what you're going with.
- 56:00Okay, that is sadly not within fifty percent. It was one hundred
- 56:06thousand pounds. Your instincts were in the right place. You just went a
- 56:07little too high, Okay, But yeah, it was one hundred thousand pounds.
- 56:10So that's your starting location. Let's move on to your next game show.
- 56:15I literally just told you is the highest payout and I literally just told
- 56:22you higher or lower than one hundred thousand pounds again with Channel four. Yes,
- 56:28more recent I've watched the celebrity ones of these, but they're never I'm
- 56:36assuming they're not very good at this because they never get up to anywhere near
- 56:43one hundred thousand. Yeah, and you can un pretty regularly throughout it when
- 56:46when Jimmy Carr asks those questions, and then I think this bonuses at the
- 56:50end as well as even something out. So maybe higher than one hundred thousand,
- 56:53we can try a higher than one hundred thousand, let's say higher.
- 56:57You're going higher. It is low, I'm afraid no, but you can
- 57:02still earn a bonus point if you can tell me what the exact maximum value
- 57:07is and you know it's lower than one hundred thousand. I feel like it's
- 57:12either going to be fifty or seventy five. Yeah, let's go fifty.
- 57:17Let's go fifty. It's twenty five, twenty five, Jimmy, Jimmy Copp,
- 57:23You've got more money than that. Jimmy, what are you doing?
- 57:27What was all that taxi brought us? Freaking game show? All right,
- 57:34So no points there, but we can make it up. Here is your
- 57:37next item? Does the game show chase the case have a higher or lower
- 57:44maximum payout than twenty five thousand pounds. This sounds like ITV trash. But
- 57:52I think we're at twenty We're at twenty five thousands, so I think we've
- 57:57got to go higher, right, it's gotta be it's gotta be. Yeah,
- 58:00let's let's say higher. You're saying higher, it's lower. I'm afraid
- 58:06no, it is lower. It is ITV trash, and it is lower.
- 58:12Give me a value lower than twenty five thousand. If you're exactly spot
- 58:15on, I'll give you a point. Ten K, yeah, ten k,
- 58:20Yeah, let's go ten k. Ten k's round. It's five k.
- 58:24It's five thousand pound, five thousand pounds. I mean it beats it.
- 58:30It beats a teapot. It, it does beats, but it is
- 58:35five thousand. Yeah. It lasted like what one or two seasons, I
- 58:39think, and then it disappeared pretty clearly, come down, still going and
- 58:45still giving away teapots any exactly. Okay, So you have a value five
- 58:49thousand pounds? Is the game show impossible? Have a higher or lower maximum
- 58:54payout than five thousand pounds? The show is called impossible? All right?
- 59:00This this round is impossible. Clearly, I was so sure that two of
- 59:07you were going to stop stevianog into a hole in the ground, and I've
- 59:10been so incredibly wrong. Much like one of our favorite game shows, Only
- 59:16Connect, I will have made less than five points during that same same logic
- 59:24as last time, but for real this time, but for ren't be anything
- 59:28lower than five. So let's let's say higher. Oh no, I'm having
- 59:37fun with you. It is higher. That's a point I can strangle them
- 59:42for you. Now hit him over the head with the why you know it's
- 59:47higher so you can earn a bonus point? Who you can tell me what
- 59:50the actual value is this. I've not actually heard of this one, but
- 59:55it sounds like a big flagship Saturday night sort of thing. So I I
- 1:00:00think we'll be moving back up again to yeah, one hundred thousand, Yeah,
- 1:00:04maybe some big bucks, yeah pounds, not bucks, the queen sterling,
- 1:00:10sorry, the King's sterling. Now, okay, so you're going with
- 1:00:15one hundred thousand pounds, one hundred thousand pounds. I think we're jumping back
- 1:00:20up. It's actually ten thousand pounds. Okay. If it's impossible, why
- 1:00:24not off for ten million? Right? Right? Okay, so you've got
- 1:00:31a value of ten thousand pounds. Is the game show five gold rings have
- 1:00:37a higher or lower maximum payout than ten thousand pounds. Now we've got to
- 1:00:45learn from the mistakes of our forefathers. And do we consider the number five
- 1:00:51here as alongside number ten? And do we think maybe this is actually for
- 1:00:54five thousand pounds or do we think each gold ring is worth more than hundred
- 1:01:00five hundred, five hundred thousand. I don't. I don't know if do
- 1:01:06British game shows even go that high? I don't know. I think they
- 1:01:08go that. I think I think he wants to be a millionaire, might
- 1:01:10be the only one. And I don't think we're going to get that one
- 1:01:14because that gives it away in the title, Yeah, should should we say?
- 1:01:21Should we say higher? And like they've gone with each gold ring is
- 1:01:22worth more than a thousand? Yeah, go for it. We're saying higher.
- 1:01:28You're saying higher, and it is higher. So that's another boy,
- 1:01:32well done? All right, So you know it's higher than ten thousand pounds
- 1:01:37if you can give me the exact value it's worth. A bonus point,
- 1:01:42could each ring be worth tenhout like around number, because then it's fifty thousand,
- 1:01:46so it is a solid amount of money. Yeah, I think that's
- 1:01:49what is reasonable unreasonable? Yeah, what's the what's the current price of gold?
- 1:01:58You's got to look at the stock market real quick. So what's the
- 1:02:00value you're going with here? We'll say we'll say fifty thousand, fifty thousand.
- 1:02:07It's a nice shot. It's actually twenty five thousand pounds. Five thousand
- 1:02:12costs not exactly. The first one's worth one thousand, and then twenty five
- 1:02:15hundred, then five thousand and ten than twenty its exponentially, it just throws
- 1:02:20grows as the ring itself gets smaller and smaller. Anyway, it's an interesting
- 1:02:25trivia show because you have to place this ring on a picture, and if
- 1:02:30you've got it in the right place, or at least part of the right
- 1:02:31place is covered by your ring, get you get the money. Okay,
- 1:02:36it's a neo idea anyway, I like that. So you've got a value
- 1:02:40of twenty five thousand pounds. Is the twenty fourteen revival of fifteen to one
- 1:02:49have a higher or lower maximum payout than twenty five thousand pounds. See,
- 1:02:57it's like a it's like a daily daytime quiz show, is what it tends
- 1:03:01to be. Okay, even I think the revival, so there's a lot
- 1:03:06of episodes, and so the amount is probably going to be lower. I
- 1:03:08think so. And I think like the daily quiz shows, you can get
- 1:03:10people on for like ten thousand off of that is your max prize. I'm
- 1:03:15sort of tempted to go lower. I would also be tempted to go lower,
- 1:03:17knowing where it sits in the entertainment sphere. Yeah, let's go lower.
- 1:03:22You're going lower. It's actually higher. Sorry, So knowing that,
- 1:03:31can you guess what the actual value is higher than twenty five pounds for a
- 1:03:42bonus point. I don't think there's any kind of I'm going to say this
- 1:03:45and then there will be I don't think there's any kind of play on the
- 1:03:49fifteen and the idea being so like one hundred and fifty thousand could be the
- 1:03:53maximum. I don't think it's that big. I think i'd go like just
- 1:03:57like a little bit higher and go to that fifty. Just hit that fifty,
- 1:04:00kekesh, just hit that fifty. Yeah, we'll hit fifty thousand.
- 1:04:04It's a very close, very nice try. It's actually forty thousand pounds goes
- 1:04:11to the Grand goes to the Grand Champion. Every series. Ah, that
- 1:04:15makes sense. Yeah, I di oth the forty thousand pounds, So that's
- 1:04:19your value forty thousand pounds, and here is your last item five minutes to
- 1:04:25a fortune the non celebrity version, so regular people, is the maximum prize
- 1:04:30higher or lower than forty thousand pounds? I wish I could remember all sequence
- 1:04:38so I could stop gaming the game's masta. Oh yeah, you want me
- 1:04:42to tell you what the sequence was up until now? I mean, yeah,
- 1:04:45if you have one hundred thousand lower, lower, higher, higher,
- 1:04:49higher, I mean feels like we should go lower. It feels like we
- 1:04:58should go lower, unless he was double luffing us by mentioning it. But
- 1:05:00I'm gonna go with your instinct first. I mean, like, I'll tell
- 1:05:04you that's such a good point, the fact that he was so killing to
- 1:05:10be like, do you want to know? But double bluffs exist? Double
- 1:05:14bluff they do? Yeah, hmmmm, I'm gonna say Lowa, I'm gonna
- 1:05:18say it first thought. First thought, let's go with it. Oh man,
- 1:05:24never try to game a games master. It's higher, it's higher.
- 1:05:28I'm sorry. Okay, so you know it's higher than forty k so you
- 1:05:34can still get a bonus point if you can tell me what is the maximum
- 1:05:38prize on five minutes to a fortune, the non celebrity version. Nonsense,
- 1:05:44well, the celebrity version. Famously, it's a trillion pounds, one trillion
- 1:05:51or the moon, if you should choose, yeah, if you should choose
- 1:05:54for right, Yeah, So should we go with something random for this is?
- 1:06:00Yeah, Aaron picktive for the last one. And it's actually like,
- 1:06:03I'm not going to say sixty nine is a real answer, but I am
- 1:06:06going to say it as a joke answer right now. Yeah, let's say
- 1:06:09sixty nine thousand pounds. Oh, man, if you'd just gone with your
- 1:06:13previous guess it's fifty thousand pounds. No, it's just ten grand higher than
- 1:06:18fifteen to one. Oh, I'm tasting my own medicine. Yeah, it's
- 1:06:23sour for freaking stress. Well right, well, now that I'm putting my
- 1:06:30contestants through hell, I'm going to check the scores by looking at the front
- 1:06:35of their podiums and read it in its egg crate font For the one out
- 1:06:41of two brain cells, they have three points, but the showers have four
- 1:06:45points. Yes, it's a close game. It's going to be the lowest
- 1:06:53close game. It's going to be the lowest scoring gately forer so much ever,
- 1:06:58as we move into the quickfire, the quick fire round is gonna determine
- 1:07:01it at all. And that's game three coming up right after this. If
- 1:07:14you like fun, then you're gonna love the beard Out Podcast. It's a
- 1:07:17podcast where we talk about two of the greatest things in the world, Beer
- 1:07:20and weird Out, And frankly, we talk more about weird Out than anything
- 1:07:26because he's the gift that keeps on given. So join us as we talk
- 1:07:30through weird Al's career, what he needs of us, and we have some
- 1:07:34very special guests on to discuss the magic that is Alfred Matthew Yankovic. Beard
- 1:07:41Out part of the Odd God Media Network. Hey man, welcome back.
- 1:07:55It's time for Game three. Usually game three on gaately Bruzus's different kind of
- 1:08:00game entirely they do more than the three over there, But for us,
- 1:08:02because we're running a bit faster, we're doing a quick fire round now.
- 1:08:06It always ends every gate Leapers episode. This is a trivia game where the
- 1:08:11clues will come fast and furious, and players are going to have to buzz
- 1:08:14in by shouting their team name. The Internet lag that the gate Leapers have
- 1:08:17should be offset by how Stone and Stevie and Augie are and how long our
- 1:08:21name is. Yeah, there is a point for each correct answer, and
- 1:08:25the team at the most points win. The buzzer sounds is our final winner.
- 1:08:30And this round is always on gate Leapers about the wider put culture knowledge.
- 1:08:34And this round is no exception. This round is about game show hosts
- 1:08:39who appeared in other TV shows and movies. Oh jeez, Okay, So,
- 1:08:45like the regular quickfire round, you'll have to buzz in by shouting your
- 1:08:47team names or a portion of it. You guys can just pick like one
- 1:08:50word from yours to shout, and everyone tests that now showers showers, showers,
- 1:08:59and you guys are going to brain cells, rainzells or calls brain cells.
- 1:09:03Brain tells it is versus the showers. All right, So I'm going
- 1:09:06to read a clue to the movie or TV show in particular in the style
- 1:09:13of a smarmy game show host. In other words, I'll use my regular
- 1:09:15voice once once you know the pop culture property I'm describing, buzz in and
- 1:09:23say the correct answer. But as always, there is a classic gate Leapers
- 1:09:27twist. You must then follow that answer with for the and name a prize
- 1:09:31that you might win on a game show. Okay. For example, if
- 1:09:38I were to say this sitcom starred a Price's Right host who got oddly excited
- 1:09:43about stones from Cleveland showers, Audra is the Drew Carey Show for a chance
- 1:09:57to spin that big wheel. Yeah, winds a chance to spind that big
- 1:10:01wheels? She is exactly right? Did you carry show? Yeah? And
- 1:10:04I was just referring to Cleveland rocks. Yeah, and so everyone's got it.
- 1:10:11That was not worth the point, sorry, but it was well done.
- 1:10:14I gotta take my cool guy glasses off. I got all right.
- 1:10:17So if everybody's ready, you're already ahead, don't get serious. Mouth's on
- 1:10:23buzzers. Well, hosts usually say fingers on buzzers. But that's not gonna
- 1:10:31wear here. Okay, if you're ready, your time starts now. A
- 1:10:38family feud host played the villain in this Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle that sounds like he's
- 1:10:43not using one. Stumped off the bad I see, ah what nothing.
- 1:10:57I am so lost. I'm gonna go with brain cells. Brain tells you,
- 1:11:04all right, you buzzed in, give me an answer for the Puppy
- 1:11:11Show. I should be clear, I'm not looking for the host. I'm
- 1:11:14looking for the Mohra. That's confused, doesn't make any sense. Let me
- 1:11:19make this clear first of all, Shower, I will always be looking for
- 1:11:23the movie or TV show in question, not the host, but I might
- 1:11:26leave the name out if I feel like that's too big of a clue.
- 1:11:30Okay, so aud you did buzz in? Do you have an answer?
- 1:11:35Kindergarten cop for the countdown teapot? I like that, but it's wrong.
- 1:11:42Anyone else want to buzz in before I call time? Brain cells? Brain
- 1:11:48cells? Uh? Terminator for the stuffed rat? No? No, sorry,
- 1:11:54no stuff. Matt show is what do you want to say? Twins
- 1:12:00Speedboat? No? Sorry, guys, that's incorrect. The movie I was
- 1:12:03looking for is The Running Man. Oh, okay, The Running Man.
- 1:12:09The villain was played by Richard Dawson, who hosted The Family Feud. Yeah
- 1:12:13wow, yeah, absolutely, well now I got to watch it twice.
- 1:12:15All right, Well that's one down, let's keep going. Uh, nobody
- 1:12:19got the point in that one. A game show host has starred in this
- 1:12:23variety show since two thousand and six, but he sadly never once offers any
- 1:12:27of the acts a deal from the banker brain cells. Okay, Ogie,
- 1:12:42what do you got? Who is Howie Mandel? For the used condom?
- 1:12:45No, again, as I just as I just explained, I'm not looking
- 1:12:50for the host name. I'm looking for the show because I'm not getting that
- 1:12:58used condom. It's also not a prize on a game show. I would
- 1:13:01have disqualified you the stuff for that was. I can believe that these are
- 1:13:10too hard. That's difficult. It is literally just us. I'm gonna take
- 1:13:19a yes. Show is okay, Matt, what do you got? Is
- 1:13:23it America's got talent? For the uh, Matt wins the VCR player.
- 1:13:32It is like a variety show, is what I was going It is America's
- 1:13:36got talent? Yes, absolutely all right, someone got one next one.
- 1:13:43The host of Press Your Luck showed off her talents when she had sex with
- 1:13:46seth Rogen on a sack of coffee beans. In this movie, I heard
- 1:13:53I heard you, No, I I heard you? All right? Oh
- 1:14:00god, what was the name of the movie. Now I'm blanking on the
- 1:14:01name of the movie. Okay, say nothing, but I'm gonna tie you
- 1:14:10out. Ye sorry. Show is Stevie got in Zach and Murray make a
- 1:14:15porno for the Giant Entertainment Center. Yeah, Stevie wins a giant entertainment center.
- 1:14:19It is Zach and Murray make a porno. I was thinking Pineapple Express.
- 1:14:25I couldn't remember their names. Someone makes up all now, somebody makes
- 1:14:32alright movie. Next clue. In this movie, it tickled everyone's funny bone
- 1:14:39when Bob Barker punched out the titular hero. Else shoe is Stevie got in
- 1:14:43there real fast waiting for this one. Happy Gilmour for the set of Golf
- 1:14:46Club's Baby. That's the set of Golf Clubs for Stevie. Well done,
- 1:14:51Okay. Next clue. Alex Trebek famously appeared on this show once opposite Will
- 1:14:57Ferrell's impression of him. Brain Cells show, is Stevie just beat Matt to
- 1:15:03the wire? SNL for the tape deck? It is Saturday Night Live.
- 1:15:09Yeah, absolutely right, absolutely right, okay. Next clue. Vanna White
- 1:15:15appeared in this nineteen ninety four video game movie, and she's more entertaining than
- 1:15:19anything else in it, including Billy and Jimmy Lee of Brain Cells, Stevie
- 1:15:30Double Dragon for the video game systems. The Sevie wins the video game systems.
- 1:15:34It's absolutely right. Okay, tear right. Now, here's the next
- 1:15:42clue. The host of the Weakest Link might be better known as Sue Sylvester.
- 1:15:46On this show whose title show is shows, Matt, what do you
- 1:15:49got Glee for the Sony Walkman? It is Glee for the Sony Walkman.
- 1:15:56Well done, all right, next clue. A host of Who Wants to
- 1:16:00Be a Millionaire spent twenty three years getting inappropriately loud on this morning talk show.
- 1:16:09I have no funny idea of the show. Is Matt, Good Morning
- 1:16:15America for a sock of potatoes. No, I'm sorry, you do not
- 1:16:20win the sack of potatoes. That is incorrect. A host of Who Wants
- 1:16:28to be a Millionaire spent twenty three years showers studio Regis and Kathy Leeve for
- 1:16:35the new deck for the studio. I'm gonna give that to you. It
- 1:16:40is Live with Regis and Kathy Lee. But people called it Regis and Kathy
- 1:16:44Lee, So yeah, that is worth a point second. Okay, there's
- 1:16:48there's still there's still a bunch mores. Here's your next clue. A game
- 1:16:54show host made a huge splash on this Comedy Central show when instead of offering
- 1:16:59for a door, he asked if he would have to strangle this negative term
- 1:17:02for a woman. Well, I can think of a negative Were you trying
- 1:17:15to buzz in? Yeah, showers because it just because it rhymes with door
- 1:17:23poor for a new car? No, did you repeat that the whole thing?
- 1:17:35Sure. A game show host made a huge splash on this Comedy Central
- 1:17:41show when, instead of offering her a door, he asked if he would
- 1:17:45have to strangle a negative term for a woman. We got anything? No,
- 1:18:01it doesn't look like August August buzzing in Augue? What you got?
- 1:18:05Family? Family viewed for the boxing gloves? Yes, that popular game show
- 1:18:13prize boxing gloves. No, No, I'm sorry that's incorrect. Any last
- 1:18:17taker, Stevie or Matt No, no, no, all right. I
- 1:18:21was looking for Chappelle show, and I was specifically referring to When Brady when
- 1:18:27Wayne Brady was on and said, is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a
- 1:18:30bit? Sorry? Anyway? Yeah, okay, moving on to the next
- 1:18:36clue. Dick Clark appeared as himself in two episodes of this sitcom that was
- 1:18:42a vehicle for a rapper who got in one little fight show is Stevie jumped
- 1:18:47on that one a bell Air for the limo. Baby, Yeah, you
- 1:18:51win the limo. Well done. It was fresh, Prince of bel Air,
- 1:18:56all right, next one. Aside from such classics his Exit Wounds and
- 1:19:00Cradle to the Grave, Anthony Anderson also appeared in this two thousand and seven
- 1:19:05Shia La buff vehicle that isn't always a vehicle showers My god, I'm so
- 1:19:13sorry. I'm sorry, bumblebee because I want the new car. That is
- 1:19:17incorrect. Matt jumped on it. Matt Transformers for one of those shifty horrible
- 1:19:26Yes, it is Transformers for at horrible car. Nice. Yeah, sorry,
- 1:19:33it was the wrong movie, Okay to me, Next next, same,
- 1:19:38Next Next clue. Bradley Walsh took time off from the chase to play
- 1:19:43graandm O Bros. Matt Doctor Who for a brand new pair of glasses.
- 1:19:50Okay, it's a little cheaper a game show, but I'll know it.
- 1:19:54You win the glasses, and that's another point. It is Doctor Who.
- 1:19:58The full The Full clue was a companion to Jody Whittaker's version of this titular
- 1:20:02character's TV show Next from nineteen ninety one. To nineteen ninety five. A
- 1:20:09host of Jeopardy played the titular role in this sitcom whoa of Showers? Oudra
- 1:20:17blossom for a million dollars and wins the million dollars. It is blossom good?
- 1:20:27Okay, next clue? What does she want? You got the million
- 1:20:30dollars? Next, it's done. We don't have to read the points of
- 1:20:35the next clue. A host of Family Feud is probably better known from being
- 1:20:41Tim Allen's second fiddle. That was Audra first Home improvement for a brand new
- 1:20:49act like that, And Audre gets an ax apparently to think of some kind
- 1:21:00power tool, and I could think of anything. Home improvement is correct,
- 1:21:02slightly used yes and quick before the buzzer. Before she wound up on Wheel
- 1:21:09of Fortune. Vana White was a contestant on this show. Sadly she never
- 1:21:14made it. Out of contestants, Row Goes Matt was in First is it?
- 1:21:19Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Or a trip to the Caribbean?
- 1:21:23No, that is incorrect. I'll throw it open brain cells, Stevie.
- 1:21:28Is that price is right? Oh? I cannot give it to you.
- 1:21:31You did not give me a prize and the price is right? Four two
- 1:21:41millions, and yes that is correct. It is the price is right.
- 1:21:46Sorry, Stevie, you just took too long. You forgot that, you
- 1:21:51forgot the prize. You cannot do that. It was the price is right.
- 1:21:56Yes, she was a contestant, but she never made it out of
- 1:21:58contestant's row. So that is the end of our show. And while our
- 1:22:02producer's assistant is busy telling up the scores, I want to thank everybody for
- 1:22:08coming out to play this very very silly and apparently very difficult game with me
- 1:22:13today. I genuinely hope you guys have had fun. Matt and Audra,
- 1:22:16I'm so happy to join us so much. This is incredible. I've taken
- 1:22:23my medicine now, do you know I am so stressed? Oh yeah,
- 1:22:29it was impossible to remain cool and chill throughout this. The stress is real,
- 1:22:33legitimately really for me at least for me at least, it's a good
- 1:22:39stress because I like that. Oh yeah, of like my adrenaline rushing like
- 1:22:42crazy. Anyway, So I want you guys to I mean, I've done

- 1:22:55stuff. They're much spotted over there. But is there anything else you'd like
- 1:22:59to say about your show to have our listeners check it out? Maybe?
- 1:23:04Yeah, just that this was a fantastic sort of promo for what we do.
- 1:23:10We do rounds very similar to this, about a different fandom for each
- 1:23:14episode, so we theme it on a different pop culture product like a movie
- 1:23:17series or an anime or a video game series, and we just yeah,
- 1:23:23have sort of ninety minutes of fun in that space and play stupid games and
- 1:23:28there are no prizes, and it's a good time. You should check it
- 1:23:31out Gate Leapers, Touch Gates Leapers, wherever you get your podcasts. Absolutely,

- 1:24:49my Instagram, and I was like, what were we doing in twenty twenty

- 1:24:57twenty twenty two. That's the way you're supposed to do it. And as
- 1:25:05for me, when this episode comes out my Kickstarter for a Thane, the
- 1:25:09audiobook will be live. Wow, So please go check out the link.

- 1:25:27but I have a brilliant cast of voice actors to play all the various parts.
- 1:25:31It is going to be such a good time, and I really hope
- 1:25:35we can make this happen because it's one of the things I want more than
- 1:25:40anything, and I don't know why, but I do so brilliant Hopefully hopefully
- 1:25:45it gets funded and then I'll just do It'll just be stressed to get it

- 1:25:58like I've said, I'm such a huge fan of the game Leebers and
- 1:26:00I so enjoy what they do and being on their show that I had to
- 1:26:02show it off. So thank you again for letting me homage and maybe slightly
- 1:26:11roast your show a little bit off, but that's kind of ama. Yeah,
- 1:26:15you know, it's enjoy I genuinely love being a part of it and

- 1:26:27So now I will reveal that at the end of this game. Oh
- 1:26:30I forgot that somebody else ceb you were on such a tear. One out
- 1:26:35of two brain cells finished the game with nine points. I'll take that and
- 1:26:41I'll be very happy. All ye, really good job today. I think
- 1:26:45we both put But what did they get? The showers I'm afraid only had
- 1:26:51eleven points, making them the winners. He got us. It's I've still
- 1:27:01got it. I've still got it, Okay, I can win my own
- 1:27:06format. This is yeah, good news, good news. You won because
- 1:27:11Adro went on a terror. And see, Stevie, if you had given
- 1:27:15me a prize, if you had given me the prize at the end of
- 1:27:17that, you would have tied it up. It would have been ten to
- 1:27:19ten. It was a close game, yeah, but I have to call
- 1:27:25you on it if you're not if you're not ready for it. So it's
