Speaker A: All right, my man. How are things?
• 0:06
Speaker B: Things are good. Things are pretty good, man. How about you? You're the. You're the big man of the hour.
• 0:17
  Speaker A: Oh, I am.
• 0:18
Speaker B: Yeah. Did you hear?
• 0:21
Speaker A: I did kind of hitting, like, not roadblocks, but just, like, I have to wait for the logo guy. I'm waiting for this. I'm waiting for that. So right now, I'm just building up the E. Commerce landing page. That's kind of what I'm spending my time on.
• 0:42
  Speaker B: Very nice.
• 0:44
Speaker A: Figured since I have excess time to work on that, I'm gonna really work on that till I'm happy with it, which normally I'm kind of doing fly by night and just getting things up and not putting a lot of thought into it, so I finally have an opportunity to, like, really be proud of what I'm putting out there. So it's unlisted for now until things are ready to move, but, yeah, that's. That's kind of where I'm at, so.
• 1:12
  Speaker B: Very nice.
• 1:15
Speaker A: Yeah. How about you? How was your trip to the haunted Queen Mary?
• 1:21
Speaker B: So we get there. It's kind of a shit show on the parking. But we get there, and she'll. Number four opens her gifts, and we pull out, like, the em. The little flashlight thing, right?
• 1:40
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:41
Speaker B: So we pull out the flashlight. I'm like, holy crap. Like, it's lighting up some. Some on the ground, like, stains on the carpet. So I'm like. I'm kind of curious on what our bed looks like. And Miami was like, no, no, I. No, right now, I know nothing. If something's on there, we're not staying here. And I was like, all right. So we kind of. I left it alone. But I can relate because. When I took out that EMF reader or whatever, I didn't want it to go off in this house. So, like, I can totally relate to that.
• 2:28
  Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
• 2:32
Speaker B: So it. But it was cool.
• 2:33
Speaker A: You do have to do it, right? I mean, like, you do have to go out there in the morning when she's backing her car up and just see what's out there. Right.
• 2:44
Speaker B: I just thought of that today. I was like, you know what? I think. I think I'm gonna do that. No, I think I'm gonna.
• 2:52
Speaker A: Oh, all right. I like it. What do you really believe? I know that we talked about this last week, but, like, what do you really believe you're going to find?
• 3:09
Speaker B: What do you mean?
• 3:11
Speaker A: Like, if you do find something. Energy. Yeah, I know, right? That's really all it comes down to. Ah, feels weird.
• 3:22
Speaker B: You Said something last week about like, oh, the. The protons are. You know what I mean? Or the atoms or whatever. You remember what I'm talking about? And I was like, oh, wow, you got all, like, all whatever on us.
• 3:38
Speaker A: I didn't think it was that crazy, but, yeah, I remember.
• 3:42
Speaker B: Well, let me. Let me transition. We. We. The. She had her good friend, her best friend with her. They got to play run up and down. They open gifts. Now we go on a tour on Saturday. That's the haunted tour. So they take you to places that you don't normally go. Now, during the day, we went to the engine room and walked around there, and the girls took their lights and their. Their readers and stuff and, you know, had some fun. And then we go on this haunted tour, and this kid Kaden is talking to us, and he's like, oh, yeah, you know, this is. This. And he's like, I don't believe in ghosts, but I believe in ghost. And he's like, I know that sounds confusing, but, like, that's how I have to deal. Like, that's how I have to cope with work. He's like, because, like, I. I believe in them because of the stuff I've seen. I don't believe in them because I have to work here.
• 4:53
  Speaker A: I totally get.
• 4:58
Speaker B: And so he was like. And so he started sharing, like, some of the first deaths, some of the most reported. Most reported, like, ghost on the ship that. That. That has been reported by multiple people. And he goes, you know, the most. The most reported one is this little girl, and she hangs around the old pool. And so he goes, now we're gonna. We're gonna take a tour over there. We can't go in the area because. Because the ground's too weak. And so. So we're like, okay, cool, cool, cool. He's like, but the little girl didn't die here. Like, the little girl that's reported being seen was on this ship, but she was alive the whole time she was on the ship. Like, she died after. And he. So he's like. So he's like. So from what we know, there's, like, several different. There's a couple different type of ghosts. And this is what made me think of what you said. He goes, there's ones. And I forget what he called them. He said, but there's ones that are, like, interactive, you know, that kind of engage with the humans or the. The. The. The ones that are still alive. And then he said, and then there's ones that are like. Like, their energy is here and it's on a loop. He's like, it. It doesn't necessarily engage with anyone. It kind of just does its own thing, but it's always the same. And so he was like, yeah, so that's. That's. That's what we seem to have mostly here on this ship. So we go on this haunted tour, and they take you to places that aren't. That are cut off to the public. So you go into, like, the. The very bottom bow of the ship
• 6:58
  Speaker A: where
• 7:02
Speaker B: a lady is usually reported being seen. That. That really gets active when Skylark by Ella Fitzgerald plays. And so he's like, check it out. Put your EMF reader over there. So we put the EMF reader over there. Then he puts. And it's green. It's calm. It never changes, even to yellow. He puts on Skylark, jumps to yellow, to red, back down to yellow, like, quick, though, not, like, long time. And it keeps doing this, like, green, yellow, red, red, red, red, green, yellow, yellow, green, red. You know, and it's just kind of bouncing, but it was. It was kind of cool. So then we go to where the little girls always seen, and they're also getting ready for their haunted mansion. You know, like, they're.
• 7:51
Speaker A: Oh, right, yeah, they do the Halloween thing.
• 7:54
Speaker B: Yeah. So, like, some of this stuff that we were walking through had the dead bodies already being put up.
• 8:02
Speaker A: It's in good taste.
• 8:05
Speaker B: And then, like, one of the areas we walk in, it's. It's the area right outside the pool. And again, we can't go into the pool area, but it's like the crew. The crew entry, staff entry to the pool. So you go behind. You're going, like, behind the back of the house. And you. You enter this room, and it's hundreds of little stuffed bears, dirty little stuffed bears. And he looks at me, this tour guide, and mind you, number four is very interactive. Like, she wants this guy's number. She asked at the end, can I get this kid's number? I was like, no. I'm like, why do you want his number? She's like, I don't know. It's professional. I'm like, no, you're not getting his number. So we're standing there, and so, like, she's asking him questions like, who was the first person to die on the boat? And is it true that someone, you know, General Custer? Yeah. Like, is it true that somebody in the engine room got, like, got killed from the door slamming on them? And he's like, yeah, that's actually true. And so, like, they're Going through all this stuff. And so he looks at me, goes, nobody would know if you. If you took a bear. And I'm like, right? And so he reaches down, he picks up a bear, and he's like, you want it? And I was like, sure. So I take it, I put it under the sweater, and he goes. And he goes, do you want to. Sure. Little souvenirs. Put it in the sweater. And then, you know, gave it to me.
• 9:44
Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna stop you.
• 9:46
Speaker B: I know you are.
• 9:48
Speaker A: I. I know I talked a lot of last week about, like, I'd around with a Ouija board. I wouldn't be afraid of it or whatever. I would not have taken that bear. That little. That little headless girl is gonna be tap dancing at the foot of my bed if I take that little bear.
• 10:10
Speaker B: So then, you know, we. We exit to her. We're going to shops, and they have, like, these Ouija boards. And she starts, like, trying to talk to things like, are you there? I'm like, whoa, what are you doing? And she's like, nothing. I'm like, no, we don't. We don't engage. Like, we don't start talking to them. That's not what we do. Can I get. Can I get a Ouija board? I was like, no, no, no, you can't get a Ouija board, bro. So then it was a good trip. We. So the only thing that ever creeped me out was the day we checked out. We had a room.
• 10:54
Speaker A: I had two Big Macs. And when I walked away,
• 11:01
Speaker B: they were whoppers, for one.
• 11:04
Speaker A: What if. What if it was just the same thing kept happening to you over and over, everywhere you went, your second whopper was taken.
• 11:14
Speaker B: I didn't order them just because of this trip. So in our room, we had two port windows that were maybe 14 inches, you know, wide. So they're two circles, two port windows. They're open, no airflow. The only cool thing about it was you can stick your head out the window and see how far down the water was. We're on B deck, which is right underneath the. The. The lobby. And so. So everybody leaves. We're packing up, and breakfast stopped at 11. Supposed to check out by 11. At 10:45, I call for the bellman, and they're like, yeah, he'll be right up. We're a little backed up. They were backed up for a half hour. So they finally get up to the room. I tell her, at 10:45, why don't you take the girls down and get breakfast? I'll Meet you down there. She's like, okay. So they all leave and the bellman finally comes at 11:15. I'm loading up the bags. I go back in for like one more set of bags and a shadow goes like over the room. Like it, it was like something ran by and just like it's shadow just like, you know, hit every wall in the room and kept going.
• 12:41
Speaker A: And I was like, what's right outside that window?
• 12:44
  Speaker B: Nothing.
• 12:45
Speaker A: Okay. So it's like there's no like walkway or.
• 12:49
  Speaker B: No, it's, it's ocean.
• 12:51
  Speaker A: Huh.
• 12:52
Speaker B: So I'm like, ah. So I like turn around, I stop, I turn around, I look outside and I'm like, are there birds? Like was it a bird flying by the window? And that's all I can think, dude, was it was a bird flying by the window?
• 13:11
Speaker A: Yeah, could be. It's just weird that it wasn't until you were alone.
• 13:15
Speaker B: Right, dude. And like we had the windows and the curtains open all weekend. Like we slept with them open. We, we had them open all them weekend because like one of the things on the Queen Mary is there's no individual room air conditioning. So they made it sound like, hey, we keep it cold, but there's extra blankets. Nah, player, that shit was hot. Like at night we slept with the windows open. No breeze. Because the wind was going with the boat. Yeah. And so no breeze was coming in. There's no movement coming in that window. And, and we slept without blankets. Like it was that freaking. It was a little, little cozy for sure. Yeah. So that was the trip, dude.
• 14:12
Speaker A: Nice. Yeah. I, I would jokingly fuck around with a Ouija board. I wouldn't be afraid of that. But if my daughter started fucking around with one, I would stop her because I don't like, I know me, I know you know that I've got control. I don't know what's going on. Number four is nine.
• 14:36
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 14:37
Speaker A: 10 now 10 in a 10 year old girls, you know. Like, is she gonna be able to control whatever happens here? Like, I don't, I don't know. Yeah, exactly, dude. Yeah. But I would rather be in a haunted place than a place with no air conditioning. For sure.
• 14:58
Speaker B: Yeah, it was. And honestly dude, it wasn't. There was nothing scary about it.
• 15:06
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 15:07
Speaker B: Like it, it felt like I was at a hotel because we never left the ship. It just felt like I lived on a hotel in a hotel. Yeah.
• 15:15
Speaker A: Yeah. You ever been on a cruise?
• 15:20
Speaker B: No, but we're going to take one now. After being there, like that's all I kept talking about like, it was like, dude, I felt like this. How cool would this be to be on the ocean with it? Like, out on the water with it? So apparently, And I want to revisit this theory about the Titanic and Queen Mary, because there's two things. First of all, there was no ship made like the Queen Mary of its time, right? It was made. When was the, the Titanic built? When did it sail?
• 16:02
Speaker A: It sunk in 1912. I don't know when it was built.
• 16:07
Speaker B: Oh, then my theory's most messed up. Okay, so sunk in 1912, the Queen Mary wasn't commissioned until 1930. So it's, it's. It's way behind and. Or 1936, it was. It started construction started 1930. And then they couldn't finish it because of the Depression. So they saw it, they sought a loan. And the loan, the bank said no. They kept asking and kept asking. And so the bank was like, we'll do it under one caveat that you. I don't know what the proper wording is, but basically, like, that you go like, you're managed by the same company that managed the Titanic. And so, okay, this boat was like one of its kind. It was faster than the Titanic. Like, it went 40 miles an hour. That's why it became a warship during the war. And then now, when I say warship, it wasn't like a battleship. It did have guns on it that are still on it, but it was a. It was either like a sanctuary, like a hospital, a place for like the, like, military men to stay, or. Or the very end of its life. It was because it was referred to as the gray ghost. They painted it all gray and nobody could ever see it. And then the last one was it brought women and children from the other country over here over to the US and it had to zigzag and couldn't stop because, like, it took 10 miles to stop and it had to zigzag. Well, it's like escort didn't know it was zigzagging and crashed into the side of it, not on the side of it. It, like, crossed paths with it. And because the Queen Mary couldn't stop, it just went right through it. Damn. And then, like, I think there was like 300 men on that ship, and more than half of them died from being sucked into the prop of the Queen Mary.
• 18:51
  Speaker A: Dude.
• 18:51
Speaker B: So. And so that's a crazy thing. I, I take that back. There was one scary thing that I saw. It was the prop of the Queen Mary. Like, you turn a corner on this tour and as soon as you turn the corner, you see, like you don't realize it, but you enter a room that is really just a like bridge all the way around the prop. And the prop is lit up underwater by lights. It's under ocean water and it's just lit up and it looks huge. Huge. Like it makes you nervous. It's even got like a four foot wall on this walkway. And like, you get. You just get nervous, like, anxious. Like it was the weirdest feeling.
• 19:55
Speaker A: Like it's gonna start.
• 19:57
Speaker B: No, dude, it's just like. It's like, I don't know, dude. Like, you get near the edge and you're like, oh, like, you're fine. You're fine. You're looking at. Oh, wow. You're like. It's just an awe. And then like you step out of the room, you're like, oh, shit. Like, I didn't realize how nervous I was in there until I exited. But like, you look over the edge at it and you're like, oh, shit. I got like eyeglasses on. I got sunglasses on my head. Like I'm holding my phone over the water. Take a picture and you're just like. And you're so. Like, what if that. I never dropped my phone. But like, I was scared as fuck that I was gonna drop my phone.
• 20:38
  Speaker A: Mm.
• 20:39
Speaker B: It was just weird. But just seeing something that massive, like, it's massive, bro. And you're just like, what? Wow, that's crazy.
• 20:51
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 20:52
Speaker B: Yeah. So I will tell you right now, my mic died. I don't know when it died, but I wasn't too far away from my eight. Well, I don't think I have a regular mic when I have a plugged in mic, so. I don't know, man.
• 21:06
  Speaker A: Okay.
• 21:07
  Speaker B: I don't know.
• 21:07
Speaker A: That's fine. We'll stitch it together.
• 21:09
Speaker B: Just realized it right now when it said it was dead. It's plugged in now. It's back on ago.
• 21:18
Speaker A: Yeah, I wanted to do that for a while. That was another venture of mine was being a freelance copy editor. I even.
• 21:29
Speaker B: Not a great living.
• 21:31
Speaker A: No. Well, that's the thing is that when you learn from people online, you're learning from people who are making, you know, 350 a year doing it. That is not, you know, the. The norm. I have a full time.
• 21:49
Speaker B: Yeah, that's what he does. Like we went to Bible college together, our school of ministry together. He does it full time and he has. He's. He's also a full time actor, so he does copywriting on the side. Like, not the side, but like that's what's paying the bills. And then he's got like another side gig where he's like a chaplain for, for a jail or something or LA county jail, but copy. Like, I, I think, I, I think if he would, if he would lose a customer or two, he would probably have to find another job. Oh, oh, and he drives Uber. That's right.
• 22:25
Speaker A: Yeah. So this dude's hustling.
• 22:28
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. To barely get by, bro. Like he's not living high on that hog.
• 22:35
Speaker A: Yeah, see I had a full time job, so this was just gonna be like a side hustle. So I was like, let me just like throw out an offer that people cannot refuse. So I was going free consult. Two hours of free work. It's $30 an hour after that. And I took, I took a couple calls with no one I knew, but like business owners I knew from like, who are a friend of a friend, you know, that kind, you know, an in law of a, of a friend and everyone was super stoked about it. And then I do some follow up stuff with them and then they would kind of just stop, you know, contacting me and that's ultimately why I stopped pursuing it. But I do, I do kind of think it was a good time to get out of that because that was like early 2023 and that's like when ChatGPT like really blew up. So it was definitely not gonna be the same kind of career after that, except for like the top 1% who are already like really established in it. But I love it, dude. I love, I love the psychology, I love the, the methods of persuasion. Like I'm really into that shit. So it sucks that I was never able to find like an outlet for that. But I think I've got that with like my business ideas. I think I can actually kind of utilize all that knowledge now.
• 24:09
Speaker B: Yeah, for sure. You utilize it on your own too now.
• 24:16
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
• 24:18
Speaker B: Like, yeah, I can say like that's, that's where you're gonna utilize it now on your own.
• 24:23
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 24:25
Speaker B: Good for you, dude. So it's competing to, to needs.
• 24:33
Speaker A: How do you mean?
• 24:35
Speaker B: Because you have the outlet for your, your copyright stuff and then you have the outcome, you know, your, your what, what eventually will turn into a successful little business.
• 24:48
Speaker A: Yeah. And I would, I would even argue three, just because I love to be creative and like you don't think of business owners or entrepreneurs or anything as creative, but when you get into this mindset where like everything's an opportunity. Everything is a problem to be solved, you know, and you really believe you can solve those problems. Like your creativity muscle is worked over time. And like, you do really feel that same kind of satisfaction that you feel when you write a song or something, you know, like you really feel like you did something. It is just words, it's just an idea. But you brought something into existence that wasn't there before, you know, and that's just really satisfying.
• 25:33
  Speaker B: So.
• 25:35
Speaker A: Yeah, man. Did I. Did I tell you that I got nipped?
• 25:42
Speaker B: What does that mean?
• 25:44
Speaker A: They got me, brother. They got me. I got nipped. I got bit a little bit. I got all the way to a table meeting with a fucking Amway representative
• 26:03
  Speaker B: for what?
• 26:06
Speaker A: This. I was talking to this mom at the park and when I told her I was. I was out of work, but you know, starting a business, doing all this stuff, she was like, oh, I should, I've been doing this E commerce thing on the side and I should connect you with my mentor and see if they would talk to you, you know. And she like, really? Oh, it's. It's beautiful. You know, like Persuasion, like we were just talking about like using certain words to trick you.
• 26:37
Speaker B: She really made it out anway rep. She was like, e commerce. Yeah.
• 26:43
Speaker A: Yes, exactly. But she, she went even further. It was genius, dude. She was like, you know, they're pretty selective about like, who they'll work with, but like, I can vouch for you and like, if we have a meeting and it goes well, like they might consider, you know, training you. And I was just like, all right, I mean, sure, I love. Like, I, I technically do E commerce. Like it's drop shipping, but it's still E commerce. You know, I'm still doing that. So like, sure, you know, like, give it, you know, pass my info along. We'll see what happens. And, and they text me and they're like, hey, yeah, you know, our mentors want to talk to you. You know, can we set up a meeting? And I was like, sure. You know, I'm. I'm not really expecting this to be anything. And I already kind of had multi level marketing vibes. Cause I asked her like, oh, is it drop shipping? Like, what kind of E commerce is it? And she was like, very vague with the answers. And that's just a dead giveaway, dude. If. If they're vague, it's a fucking multi level marketing scheme. Do not fall for it. But, but I was still just like, I don't know, like, I know her. Like, why would she Trick me, You know, like, you know, let's just, let's just see what these people say. But I was like, highly suspicious going in. And so I get there and she's like, hey, you know, actually, so our mentors are in the, in the hospital having a baby. And the girl's dad is actually the owner of the company and he's the one who's going to be meeting with you today. And I was like, okay, so I'm wearing a polo and black pants. Like, I'm not like, dressed nice. And this lady shows up in a black dress, her husband's in a suit and tie. And then I see across the Whole Foods, like, rest bar area, the guy that I'm meeting with is like in a full suit and tie, like silver fox, you know, 57 year old dude. And I'm like, dude, I'm so underdressed for this. Like, why did I do this? And he comes over to the table and I just knew. It was like, the whole time he's just. It's cliches. It's, you know, all these like, you know, kind of slogany phrases. And he, like, hasn't told me what the name of the business is, like, what they actually do. And he was like, well, you know, like, if I'm gonna have you read this book and if you think that, like this, it's a book about mindset, and if you think that, like, this is your mindset, like you're open to adaptability and change and stuff, then we'll set up a second meeting and I'll really get into like, what we do and like, what your training is gonna look like. And I'm like, all right, you know, And I just left, just feeling like something is fucked up here, dude. So I'm gonna say his name. I don't care. He. He only told me that his name's Kelly. I did not get the name of the company, the, like, anything specific. So I get home And I asked ChatGPT, like, is there any CEO in Orange county with the name Kelly who does like some kind of e commerce? And ChatGPT is coming up with nothing. And I was like, okay, let's figure this out, dude. So I knew that the husband of the mom from the park owned a business in San Juan. So I was like, okay, I'm gonna Google that name, that kind of business, see what comes up. I find him immediately. So I take his name, go to Instagram, I find the mom, I'm looking at her Instagram, I go to the people she Follows, I search Kelly, find the guy. His. Kelly Ewing is his name. Fuck this guy. And I. I look at his page. There's nothing about the company name or anything, but there's all these videos of him, like, at a pulpit, like, speaking to huge auditoriums of people, like this really inspiring, like, Tony Robbins kind of shit. And I'm like, who the is this guy? So my. My sister's getting really into it too. She's searching his name, she's doing all sorts of stuff. She finds a Reddit page where a bunch of people had said, yeah, I met this guy, Kelly Ewing at the Whole Foods in Irvine. And I worked with him for a couple years. I went into a ton of debt. Like, they sued me, all this crazy shit, all to find out he's a fucking Amway distributor dude. Fucking evil. Like, why would you do. Like, why would you do that to me? Why? Like, you saw a guy who, you know, maybe from your perspective, he's, like, down on his luck, you know, he's not quite where he wants to be. And you're like, you know what? This looks like a mark. This, like, dad from the park that you've known for a year. You're like, I could fucking get this guy to give me some money.
• 31:54
  Speaker B: That's nuts, dude.
• 31:56
Speaker A: Yeah, I just couldn't. I should have trusted my gut because, like, when she told me about it, I had MLM vibes and. And I let them get me all the way to the table. I went home with their fucking book. Like, it's crazy how far into this process I got while being suspicious the whole time. Like, why. Why did I go that far? And you know what it was. It was really just my mindset for the last couple weeks. I've really been telling myself, like, I'm sticking to my motto of try a thousand things, be successful at 1% of them. That's. That's, like, how I'm living. I'm trying a thousand things. If someone says I've got an opportunity for me, I can at least hear them out, you know? And. Nope.
• 32:47
  Speaker B: When was this?
• 32:49
Speaker A: We met on Sunday.
• 32:52
Speaker B: Oh, wow. On Sunday. Does she work for him?
• 32:57
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So they. They work, doing whatever. Yeah, I. I guess his company is, like, under Amway, so he doesn't have to come right out and say he's Amway. But, yeah, so she's, like, good friends with his daughter and her husband, and so they're the ones they work with. And there was all sorts of shit on Reddit about them too. Like, they're apparently Pieces of work as well.
• 33:25
Speaker B: She probably wasn't even pregnant, bro.
• 33:28
Speaker A: Well, no, he. Well, actually, I don't know. He showed me pictures of the baby that was supposedly born the night before, but, you know, who knows if that's real, dude, maybe that was holy. I'm thinking now maybe that was just like a weird thing they do to, like, bond you to them right away, because it. It got us on the subject of my daughter and what do I want for my daughter and all this sort of stuff, you know? Like, it. It did. Dude, I wonder if that was even real now.
• 33:59
Speaker B: Yeah. Holy crap. Yeah, I'm. I'm very like, if I know some, like, if I have the same vibes you have at this age now. I'm like, I've stopped interviews where I'm like, I just don't think this is gonna work out. Like, I. I tell you right now, it's not gonna work out.
• 34:18
Speaker A: Like, if you're being interviewed or if you're interviewing someone like me being interviewed.
• 34:23
Speaker B: Like, I've been on interviews where, like, dude, this one company called me. They had me travel an hour, and they're like, this is gonna be your home site. Like, we don't have a main off, like a headquarters, because we do so much work for Banner. Like, this huge ass. I don't think it's Banner. Some huge ass hospital out here. And they're like, we do so much work here that, like, this is our office, this trailer, and, like, this is our headquarters. Our main office is, like, in Minnesota or whatever. My car. I. I already don't like Minnesotans, Okay.
• 35:05
Speaker A: What a weird prejudice to have.
• 35:08
Speaker B: Dude. It started at church, bro. I went to some Sunday church thing. Football. Watching these guys. When we were at rsm watching these guys watching football with these guys. And they were all just so weird. And I left and I went to my friend Frosty's house, and I'm like, hey, dude, like, those guys from church, man, like, they're weird and they're all from Minnesota. I was like, minnesotans are weird. I've never. And there's a lot of Minnesotans out here because of the snowbird stuff. Never met. I've only met one I like, and he's. He's. He's just a quirky old man. Every Saturday at the same time, he goes and gets his tires back air balanced. And then, like, he gets air in his tires. He gets, like his whole truck checked and goes on his way and does whatever he does for the rest of his Saturday. But every Saturday at the same Time. I know this because I know the tire general manager, the, the discount tire general manager there. And when I, when I bring that guy up, he's like, oh, yeah, he comes here every Saturday, same time. So with that, I don't like Minnesotans. And so I'm in this interview, I'm answering all their questions. They're asking if I'm a project manager, if I've done like the C2000 or C200 program. And I'm like, no. And they're like, okay. So then, like, I go through it, I'm just kind of getting a feel for them. I finished the interview and I get in the car, I think I'm driving, I'm driving the hour back home. And he calls and he's like, hey, I really liked you. Like, I'd like for you to come back, you know, I think this could work. Like, when, when do you think you could start? Can you do like, maybe one more follow up if we need to? And I'm like, I'm gonna be honest. I'll tell you right now, this ain't gonna work. What do you mean? I'm like, this, this ain't gonna work. I, I, we're, we're just two different people, man. I was like, you know, like, I'm, I'm pretty easy going in the sense, like, I'm gonna make jokes throughout the day. It, I didn't say all this to him. I'm telling you, this, like, this guy just seemed like a stiff dick. And I was just like, nah, dude, I can't, I can't, I, I can't. I don't, I'm not gonna do that to myself. So it's like, I'm just like, you know, I was on one interview and they asked me to interview, knowing what I do because they worked as a subcontractor under us. And they were like, hey. I was like, hey, I'm, I'm gonna be leaving. And they're like, really? Why? I was like, because the owner from Minnesota lies a lot. Not saying all Minnesotans lie. Just so happened he was from Minnesota too. And I don't like him. And I was like, I was like, he lies a lot. Was like, so I'm out. And they're like, well, you should come interview with us. I'm like, all right. So I go interview with them. I, I knew people there, so I was like, this is cool, you know, like, this is gonna be really cool working with guys from church. And I go in and they're like talking to me. Asking me all these questions, you know, where, where I want to be, what I want to do. And I said, well, I'm telling you, right? I don't know nothing about H vac mechanical stuff. I can tell you where it goes if you give me a set of prints. But if it messes up or if they're, I don't know, codes, I don't know how to fix them. I can tell you by looking into print. It goes there at this elevation, facing that way and everything that supports it. I could tell you that by looking at the print. But I can't fix something, I can't troubleshoot it. And I don't know the codes. They're like, so why are you interviewing? I said, because you guys asked me to interview. And they're like, well, what do you want to do? I was like, business development. Like that's. I, I like talking to people. And they were like, okay, well we'll see if we have something for you. That was really the end of that. But I, I like in the middle of the interview, I was just like, dude, like I, I don't know what you're looking for, but if you're looking for someone that knows H vac, I'm not your guy at all. So unless you got some kush position for me you want to give me, I want to be useless.
• 39:31
Speaker A: Yeah, it's always weird when they're like not vetting you. Like you've kind of already got it if you want it. That's always like a red flag.
• 39:43
Speaker B: Well, I thought it was like, cuz I get offers from a lot of subcontractors, like, hey, if you ever left there, like you.
• 39:50
Speaker A: Yeah, there's a different vibe. There's a different vibe when it's like one I got, I got emailed by a company from Indeed and they were like, hey, are you still interested in this marketing position? I was like, yeah, you know, I don't really remember applying to this, but like, sure, I'll set up the interview, I'll go in and from, from the jump, dude. It was like, it was just a given that I was gonna like be in this position. And he was like, yeah, so like all we do is just call people and sell them Cox Internet and then eventually like you'll get your own office with your own employees and all this stuff. And I was like, I didn't apply to this. I'm pretty sure they just emailed me and I was stupid enough to go down.
• 40:47
Speaker B: This is the best kind of. That's the best Kind, man.
• 40:49
Speaker A: Yeah, I appreciate a good scam, dude. I'm not even mad at it, you know?
• 40:55
Speaker B: Like, I appreciate the crap, though, bro. Like, the scam can't be targeted at the weak.
• 41:06
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 41:06
Speaker B: You know, you, you, you can't target it at the vulnerable. If you're gonna scam somebody, scam someone who's at the top of their game. That's some respect. Scamming some old lady to. Because, you know, her computer, you know, you fixed her computer virus and she gotta download something. That ain't a. That ain't cool, dude. Like, you know, scamming like, some young business owner who thinks he's the. That's cool.
• 41:35
Speaker A: Yeah, I agree. You know, I used to have a short change trick that I would do at fast food restaurants, and it's like, dude, Burger King's not gonna miss the $10, you know. Now I would never do that today, but I do kind of respect the scam.
• 41:55
Speaker B: That's corporate. Like, when I worked it at ihop, when I worked at ihop, I would go on Fridays and get. Go to, like, you know, fucking wherever newspapers were sold, and I would buy a bunch of newspapers, and then I would clip the IHOP coupons out of them. And then as a host or even as a waiter, I tell them if they paid cash, you know, I could, you know, ignore the tax. And so a lot of people would pay cash. And I would go up, I do the math in my head, and give them their change and let them be on their way. And then at the end of the day, I would go and I'd take all those bills. Like, I would do it as I got them because you have to close out the tables. But I would go up whenever the cash register was open. I would just say, okay, here's their bill. Oh, shit, they had a coupon. 10, 11 bucks. Boom. I added up on a calculator. Keep the calculator in my pocket. At the end of the day, I go to the cash register, I take out however much cash that that calculator says at the end of it. And I would do that probably, like throughout the whole day. So I'd make an extra maybe hundred, five hundred, ten for.
• 43:16
  Speaker A: From.
• 43:17
  Speaker B: From coupons.
• 43:18
Speaker A: That ain't bad. That ain't bad. I'm saying, dude, I saw on Instagram when someone said, like, you know, the bill's 160, here's 200. Just keep the. Keep the change. They applied their employee discount so that the change would be more. That's smart.
• 43:41
Speaker B: For sure. Yeah, yeah. Or because I had like manager rights because you know, you start working at restaurant, you guys are all end up being friends. You know, the manager don't really. It wasn't like a high end restaurant, so we're all friends and stuff. You end up learning people's codes because you're like, hey, I need to do this real quick for this customer. They're in the middle of something. My code's this. All right, cool. And so, you know, every now and then I wouldn't have a coupon, but I'm pretty sure they had a shitty experience. That's 50 off sometimes your meals on the house. You know what I'm saying? Like that's just. Yeah, it's just. And then. Or I would do senior discount, like if it was a large, large one. And I'm like, ah, this one's gonna get flagged for like 50. This one's gonna get flagged if I hit it with the 100. So I'll just senior discount the whole meal. Add it to the calculator, grab it later.
• 44:41
Speaker A: Yeah, smart. Dude, do you ever get got?
• 44:47
Speaker B: Never. Wow. Never got got. Not saying like it. You couldn't now. But yeah, yeah, but yeah, those were the good times, you know when. Back when. Yeah, I just had to get up in two hours and go do breakfast at ihop. And then I come home and sleep for a couple hours and get party again.
• 45:12
Speaker A: Yeah, well, with an extra 110 in your pocket every day, it's not a bad living.
• 45:19
Speaker B: No, and at ihop you're making three to four hundred dollars in tips on a Saturday and Sunday.
• 45:23
  Speaker A: Damn.
• 45:25
Speaker B: Yeah, dude, it's. It's a quick like turn and burn, bro. Like people come in, they eat, they go. They're not like trying to sit there. And you know what, let me see your dessert menu. Nah, man.
• 45:36
Speaker A: Now this is high hop.
• 45:38
Speaker B: You know, they're like, give me an omelette and some eggs. And then, you know, they eat and they're gone. And then you wipe it off real quick. You're like, give me another set.
• 45:48
Speaker A: Yep. Yeah, pretty good. I wonder if they're hiring now. Let me get down there. Let me try to run these early 2000 schemes at IHOP in 2026.
• 46:01
Speaker B: That one in, in Queen Creek. I mean like weekends it's pretty packed, dude. It's got a pretty cush location right there. Yeah, yeah, I, I said Queen Creek. It's not Queen Creek. What is, what is over there?
• 46:17
Speaker A: What are you talking about?
• 46:18
Speaker B: What is Aliso Creek?
• 46:20
Speaker A: Oh, Aliso Creek. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that one's always busy. I love. I love a breakfast spot, dude. I love Denny's. Love ihop. Haven't had it in so long.
• 46:36
Speaker B: You know, I'm not gonna lie. Maybe it's because I'm a little bougie, but, you know, I'm not a bit like Denny's to me. Is maybe after the bars, if anything. If you're saying, hey, let's do breakfast tomorrow, we're going to, like. Like, a Mom and Pop place or someplace that's known. What's that place right down the street from ihop?
• 47:04
Speaker A: Oh, the Crown Cake House.
• 47:06
  Speaker B: No.
• 47:07
  Speaker A: Oh, broken yolk.
• 47:09
Speaker B: No, it's on the corner. It's a little, like, mom and Pop restaurant. It's in, like, what looks like over by the Carl's Jr. In Aliso Creek, which is right down the street from the IHOP off Crown Valley. And maybe it's not Crown Valley, but, like, start at the ihop, go out of the parking lot and make a right. And then you got, like, that light right there that takes you, like, right before Tom's Burgers.
• 47:41
  Speaker A: Oh, Paul's.
• 47:44
Speaker B: I don't know, dude. It's like a little Mexican family restaurant.
• 47:49
Speaker A: I'm gonna look it up.
• 47:52
Speaker B: Yeah, you gotta. Dude, it's Aliso Creek.
• 47:54
  Speaker A: It's like a breakfast place.
• 47:56
Speaker B: Yeah, it's Aliso Creek. And what's in between? Alicia. So it's Aliso Creek and La Paz.
• 48:05
  Speaker A: Lisa Creek.
• 48:08
Speaker B: That's what it is. Yeah.
• 48:10
Speaker A: Oh, right by the Carl's.
• 48:12
Speaker B: I know the area.
• 48:14
Speaker A: You're saying, but I couldn't tell you what the restaurant is. Let's see here.
• 48:26
Speaker B: I'll tell you what it is.
• 48:28
  Speaker A: Brown Sugar Oats.
• 48:32
Speaker B: Really? That's the name.
• 48:34
Speaker A: It's Aliso Creek Road.
• 48:40
Speaker B: I'll tell you what it is, bro. All right, let's see.
• 48:50
  Speaker A: Snooze.
• 48:53
Speaker B: Might be snooze. Let's see.
• 48:55
  Speaker A: I think that's a chain. Molly's.
• 49:01
Speaker B: I think it is. Molly's. Yeah.
• 49:03
  Speaker A: Molly's Country Kitchen.
• 49:04
Speaker B: Molly's Country Kitchen. Yeah. Mm.
• 49:07
  Speaker A: Never been there.
• 49:08
Speaker B: That's. I would take you there before I took you to, like, IHOP if you're like, hey, let's go get breakfast.
• 49:13
Speaker A: Yeah. Not to say that those places aren't better. They are no one's. Well, sure. Yeah. I'm not saying they're not better. I just like Denny's. You know what I mean?
• 49:26
Speaker B: I totally know what you mean. Like, Denny's is kind of nostalgic.
• 49:30
Speaker A: Yeah. Let me. Let me. I'll put this in A way that you'll definitely understand. Jurassic park is better than Jurassic Park 3. But I still love Jurassic Park 3.
• 49:45
Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, that, that was definitely something I understood right there.
• 49:51
Speaker A: I love how much you hate Jurassic Park.
• 49:54
Speaker B: It's not that I hate it.
• 49:55
Speaker A: You hate that it's my favorite movie?
• 49:58
Speaker B: Yeah, I, I, it wouldn't be on my top three. Like, if you're like, hey, last day on Earth, you, your, your last, your favorite, anything you want, favorite meal and any, any movie you want. Favorite movie. And, you know, maybe it's. That's it. That's all I could give you. What do you, what are you watching? You watching Jurassic Park? Eating.
• 50:19
Speaker A: I, I'm not watching Jurassic park, but honestly, it might not be because it's not my favorite movie. I just feel like the vibe of your last movie ever should match, you know? So, like, I feel like it's gotta be like a cinematic masterpiece, you know?
• 50:43
Speaker B: So, I mean, I know what I'm doing.
• 50:46
Speaker A: Boys in the hood, Passion for Christ.
• 50:50
Speaker B: Passion of the Christ. I'm giving it one more shot to get in.
• 50:55
  Speaker A: Wow.
• 50:56
Speaker B: I'm just gonna, I'm gonna seal it.
• 50:58
  Speaker A: All right.
• 50:59
Speaker B: I'm gonna watch it. I'm gonna get up and go start telling my neighbors.
• 51:07
Speaker A: All right, man. Fireproof. I'm going fire.
• 51:16
Speaker B: So what cinematic movie are you, what you're watching? The Departed. That's what you're.
• 51:20
Speaker A: Yeah. Honestly, when you've asked me point blank, like, what's your favorite movie? I've always answered the Departed. So, like, maybe Jurassic park isn't my favorite movie, but honestly, I have seen both of those movies well over a hundred times.
• 51:39
Speaker B: All right, let me ask.
• 51:40
Speaker A: And I feel like to watch Jurassic park for the 155th time would just not be like, what I want my last movie experience to be. So I would more likely go with the Departed or like Double Indemnity or Casablanca, like something that's like crazy awesome, you know?
• 52:02
Speaker B: All right, you get three movies there. Okay, scratch that, cuz we already did this episode.
• 52:10
Speaker A: It's true. We're just doing old episodes now. It's been two years. We can do it again.
• 52:18
Speaker B: So you, you would, you'd watch something like that. What would your meal be? What would your last meal be?
• 52:29
Speaker A: Sushi would be hard to beat.
• 52:32
Speaker B: Yeah, it's usually where I'm at. I, But I, I have changed it as of recent. I would, I would actually go with, like, some of the More. And I'm not talking about bull testicles or,
• 52:49
  Speaker A: or
• 52:51
Speaker B: a live squid. You know, I'm not doing nothing like that. But I want some lobster and caviar and some high dollar.
• 52:59
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. That's a really tough one, dude. Because the reason, like, last meal is so hard is because, like, do you want to go top dollar? Do you want to go.
• 53:16
  Speaker B: I do.
• 53:16
Speaker A: Do you want to go comfort? Because like, I love chicken tenders. Like, love them. And if with the.
• 53:28
Speaker B: Oh, chicken tenders. I was thinking macaroni.
• 53:31
Speaker A: No. But like, so like, I don't know, maybe I would want that to be my last meal if I really. If I knew it was my last meal. Like, well, fucking. I mean, chicken tenders have always been there for me.
• 53:44
Speaker B: So, like, what about macaroni with the chicken strips?
• 53:49
  Speaker A: Like Kraft.
• 53:52
Speaker B: No, I was just fucking around. Number four always does.
• 53:56
Speaker A: I mean, but you bring up a great point. I'm not eating any of that right now on my diet. But, like, I will fuck up a Kraft Mac and Cheese. So, like, yeah, if you promised me like four boxes of it and like, it's got you. You added, you added. Hold on, hold on. You added. You added shredded cheese. You put garlic salt in there like you do the I do to it. That'd be tough. That'd be tough to say.
• 54:26
Speaker B: They come to you and they say, hey, your Kraft Mac and Cheese with all your.
• 54:31
  Speaker A: Or
• 54:34
Speaker B: Emerald's Mac and Cheese or fucking Wolfgang Puck or Bobby Flay, whoever your favorite chef is their Mac and cheese deep fried or however you want it. I myself am going high dollar. I'm going with shit I don't. I might have had once or shit that I've never had.
• 54:53
Speaker A: That does change the game. That does change the game. Like if they'll make it however. Well, cuz like, my first thought on that. And I tell this story in my book about how much I hate onions. I ordered Mac and cheese in an Italian restaurant once. Never onions.
• 55:12
  Speaker B: I know.
• 55:13
Speaker A: Yeah. Fucking raw red onions in fucking Mac and cheese. Yeah. So like, I wouldn't take a risk. I wouldn't tell Emerald, give me your Mac and cheese. I don't know how the fuck he does it. I don't like. I have no idea if I'm gonna like that, you know, but yeah, I know I'm gonna like craft. Follow the instructions on the box. Follow the instructions on the box. You can't fuck it up.
• 55:43
Speaker B: I ain't got all those hiccups, bro. I got true. I. I'm. I'm sitting down. I want. I definitely want lobster. I want the most expensive fish that there is because it's so delicious. Not because it's rare, but because it's delicious and some caviar and then that's really it, dude. Yeah, I love seafood. Maybe some pasta. Like, seafood and pasta. To me, they're. If. If pasta was as low in fat, I guess, our sugars or whatever the. As seafood is, it would. They. They. There'd be an even tie. But because seafood is healthier, and I love it just a little bit more because it's a little more pliable.
• 56:44
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 56:44
Speaker B: You know, like, you can. You can season occasion. You can season it savory. Where with pasta, there's not. You're limited. There's a lot, but you're still not as many as. As seafood.
• 56:58
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, I guess the parameters have to be defined more like, can
• 57:04
Speaker B: I just have anything you want?
• 57:06
Speaker A: Anything? Like, no matter the quantity.
• 57:10
Speaker B: No, it's your last meal.
• 57:12
Speaker A: So what I'm saying is two hours left. What I'm saying is if I want a small bowl, you know what comes to mind? My sister made a beer Mac and cheese for my 22nd birthday. She used stone IPA in it, so it, like, really tasted like beer. The most fucking delicious thing I've ever had in my life. She's tried to recreate it several times. It's never been as good. But, like, if you could promise me that Mac and cheese, like, a small bowl of it, like one maple donut, you know, like two chicken tenders. Like, if I could really create the whole meal like that, then like, yeah, sky. Sky's the limit.
• 57:56
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm doing. I'm doing a little side of caviar I'm doing. And I'm. I'm doing it in. In phases. Like, if this is my last meal, I want to be served like, it's my. My last meal, you know? I mean, like, bring me an amused bouche. Let me. Let me. Let me have, like, a little. Little lobster bisque. Then, you know, bring out the tuna tartare and the caviar. Then and only then will I take my meal, you know? Mm. And then after that, you know, I want some. Some dessert, and I want an espresso to wash it all down, and then I'll be ready to go.
• 58:36
Speaker A: Yeah. When they hit that switch on the electric chair, you're going to shit everywhere after that.
• 58:42
Speaker B: You know what I'm saying? I want to go out. I want them to be like, fuck, he was easier to deal with when he was alive.
• 58:54
Speaker A: The. The. The one that's tough is you get, like, one meal. So, like, you have to pick, like, lasagna or, you know, lobster like that. It's going to be one entree. That's your last thing that. I just. I don't know. I. That. That is where I would. I would get seized up and I would say chicken tenders because I know I love chicken tenders.
• 59:22
Speaker B: Okay, so you're going chicken tenders. What chicken tenders are you going with? You going with, like, the Tyson out the bag?
• 59:28
  Speaker A: The.
• 59:28
Speaker B: The dinosaur ones? What do you. What are you doing?
• 59:31
Speaker A: Tyson out of the bag is not a bad option. Raising canes is my favorite, if I can have anything.
• 59:40
  Speaker B: Okay.
• 59:40
Speaker A: But I've actually been making my own chicken tenders with almond flour, and they might be the best chicken tenders I've ever had.
• 59:52
Speaker B: No shit. So you're frying them too?
• 59:54
Speaker A: Yep. Yeah, it's. It's almond flour and they're fried in avocado oil. So they're.
• 1:00:01
Speaker B: They're an avocado oil. It's high heat.
• 1:00:04
Speaker A: Yeah. So they're. They're totally on my diet. And. Yeah, making them like once a week.
• 1:00:12
Speaker B: That's why things don't taste as well if you use, like, olive oil, because it does burn at a certain level.
• 1:00:19
Speaker A: It doesn't. It smells like shit.
• 1:00:22
Speaker B: Yeah. Avocado oil goes a little higher. So last night, you know, I. I like. I've been really enjoying coming home before she gets home and just like, making a meal, you know, turn on the music as loud as I want. I don't have to entertain conversation. I could just sing and cook. And so I went on our way back from California, I stopped at Clearman's North Woods Inn, picked up some cabbage. Some pickled cabbage. I'm sorry, not pickled cabbage. I picked up some Clearman Northwood's Inn cabbage salad, which is cabbage and rice vinegar with, like, sugar and some other stuff. And then I picked up their loaf of bread to make their bread and came home. And I was like, dude, I know I gotta, like, do something with this. On the way home in Arizona, we stopped at Buc EE's and got pickled beets. So I was like, all right, I gotta do something with all of this. So I was like, all right, let's. Let's make a meal. So I did surf and turf. I did a filet mignon with. And we bought a cast iron skillet for it and everything. So this is second time I'm cooking on the cast iron and did tiger shrimp and then did a small baked potato for us because again, I know there's A lot of food going on this plate. So I did the baked potato and with the baked potato, dude, I've never done it like this, but she said she's had it like this before. You roll it around in. In what the. Do you. Oh, you. You put oil all over it, Olive oil all over it. After you wash them, put olive oil on it. And then you take a bowl of crushed salt. Like, you know, you do the crusher, you get a whole bowl of it, you roll them around in it, and you take them straight to the oven. 400 for about 50 minutes. And it crusts the salt all on the outside. So, like you have a crusted, like a salt crusted potato. And so I did that, and then I did the rice pilaf. And then I did the cheese bread from. From Clearman's. That shit is so good. And. And then I did a wedge salad with pickled beets and blue cheese. And everything was small portioned it like, because I'm like, dude, I know it's a lot of food. So it was like a spoonful of rice pilaf instead of like a wedge salad. Like where you get the whole wedge from top to bottom. I gave like a. Like a half wedge. So it was. It was. It was good, man. It was. I'm really enjoying cooking.
• 1:03:21
Speaker A: That's a savory meal. I'm googling where to buy caviar and looks like I can. I can walk out of Ralph's with a can of caviar for 10 bucks.
• 1:03:36
Speaker B: You know what I was talking about when I said caviar, bro?
• 1:03:40
  Speaker A: Sure.
• 1:03:40
Speaker B: What I was talking about.
• 1:03:41
  Speaker A: Sure.
• 1:03:41
Speaker B: I was talking about the shit they bring out in a jar, but on a plate.
• 1:03:48
Speaker A: Okay, so I need to put it on a plate is what you're saying.
• 1:03:52
  Speaker B: That one's in a jar?
• 1:03:53
  Speaker A: Yeah, it's in a jar.
• 1:03:55
Speaker B: Yeah, Just put it on a plate. All right.
• 1:03:58
Speaker A: I'm gonna put it on a baked potato. You.
• 1:04:02
Speaker B: I don't know if I've ever had shitty. I don't know if I've ever had poor quality caviar because I've only had caviar at like five star restaurants that I worked at. You know what I mean? Like, I was a waiter and I could have some caviar, and that was the only time I've ever had caviar. Like, I've had it on sushi, but I don't know what grade of caviar that is, you know?
• 1:04:26
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:04:27
Speaker B: Fucking fish eggs on sushi. But like, nice caviar. I've only had at restaurants that I was, like, blessed to work at. Yeah.
• 1:04:37
Speaker A: I've only had caviar once, and I couldn't even tell you where or, like, what the context was, but I just remember the feeling of like, oh, this is why. This is like a high end thing to eat. And like, I want to eat this all the time now.
• 1:04:56
Speaker B: Yeah. Isn't it like, little burst of goodness.
• 1:05:02
  Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:05:05
Speaker B: I mean, I don't know. Real good shit.
• 1:05:06
Speaker A: With the tiny little eggs, though.
• 1:05:09
  Speaker B: I've seen.
• 1:05:09
Speaker A: I've seen them where they're like, you know, you can see that they're giant balls. That can't be.
• 1:05:17
Speaker B: Yeah, I don't want the boba. I want the, like, little tiny. Dude, it looks like maybe perfectly round, thick balls of pepper, you know? Yeah, but they're tiny as. Dude, like, I can't say tiny as. Sounds like you can't see them, but they're tiny.
• 1:05:34
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:05:34
Speaker B: And I just know they're good. You know, it's like those little corns you get, you know, I mean, you're like, I don't know what these things are, but they're good. Do you like that? The little corns?
• 1:05:47
  Speaker A: I don't know.
• 1:05:50
  Speaker B: They're like. They're corn. I'm assuming they're. They're a type of corn.
• 1:05:55
Speaker A: Oh, they look like a little corn on the cob, but they're the tiny little things. Yeah, yeah.
• 1:05:58
Speaker B: They're like the size of your finger.
• 1:06:00
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:06:01
Speaker B: Love. Those are good, man.
• 1:06:05
  Speaker A: Let's see.
• 1:06:06
Speaker B: Biting those like they're corn on the cob would almost be the equivalent of like, caviar. Like, that's. That's the hillbilly caviar. If you were to like, like, cut those. If you were to cut those. So their whole kernel off the cob, that's hillbilly caviar for sure.
• 1:06:29
Speaker A: I think that should be the title of the episode.
• 1:06:33
  Speaker B: Let's see.
• 1:06:33
Speaker A: I'm. See. Okay, so I'm seeing, like big price discrepancies, which is telling me.
• 1:06:38
  Speaker B: Yeah, you are.
• 1:06:39
Speaker A: That's telling me that there's definitely a level you want to be at, price wise.
• 1:06:45
Speaker B: Because I'm sure that's why when you're like $10 caviar, I'm like, nah, dude, everybody being caviar. If it was fucking, yeah, good shit was $10.
• 1:06:53
Speaker A: I'm seeing one ounce cans at Pavilions for $40. And I'm seeing two ounce cans at Albertsons for 12.99.
• 1:07:05
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 1:07:06
Speaker A: But you know what? Maybe it's one of those Things where, like, even the bad one is, like, not that bad.
• 1:07:12
Speaker B: It's probably not to us. Like, for us. We're probably like, oh, yeah, this is great. And then, like, once we around and walk into, like, a legit wedding, and they're like, yeah, there's a caviar bar. And then we're like, oh, this is the. I want to be eating.
• 1:07:31
Speaker A: My God. I. I needed glasses the whole time, and. And I didn't realize until I put them on.
• 1:07:42
Speaker B: That's a trip. I had a. You know. You. You know that buddy. Buddy, like, never wore glasses, and then one day he bought glasses, and he was like, holy, dude. Like, yeah, trees aren't just blurs of green. Like, that's.
• 1:07:59
Speaker A: That's what I've always heard, is that the vision loss happens so gradually that you adapt to just not seeing things as clearly, and you don't even fully realize that you're not.
• 1:08:13
Speaker B: Yeah, I could see that. I mean, outside of, like, words where you're focused on them, life like this, your surroundings, I. I could. I could see that. For sure. For sure. Yeah. But my vision went, like, over overnight. Like, I went from, like, having great vision to, like, two years later needing glasses, like, not being. And I know what it was because I would feel it. It's the weirdest feeling. But laying in bed, if I look at my cell phone for, like, 20 minutes and then look up at the TV that's on the dresser that's at the end of the bed, I feel the shift in my eyes. It's like my. It's. It's. It's like my eye muscles, like, shift, and I feel it, and I'm like, wow, that's a weird feeling. And it's just. It's just for, like, a second. And then. And then I started adapting, and I knew it. I was like, dude, my shit's gonna go pretty quick here. And sure enough, within two years, I needed glasses.
• 1:09:15
Speaker A: And when did that happen?
• 1:09:17
  Speaker B: I happened maybe at 40.
• 1:09:20
Speaker A: That's what people say, dude. It's like eyes. I mean, there's people with exceptionally bad vision their whole life, and that's not
• 1:09:28
Speaker B: what I'm talking for sure.
• 1:09:29
Speaker A: But, like, people with normal vision, give or take 40, it might be 39, it might be 42. Your eyes only have about 40 years, and that's when they start to go. It's so weird.
• 1:09:43
Speaker B: So if that's a universal truth, let's just play that out. What do you think life was like for those people that lived the Old Testament times? You're 900. Your vision went at fucking 40, bro.
• 1:09:57
Speaker A: Theirs did not. I don't think. Because what I've been hearing like what Andrew Huberman says is that if you work outside and you're like always looking off in the distance, your eyes aren't going to fade the same way our eyes fade because we're reading books, we're looking at our phone, we're in a 10 by 12 room, you know, like we're not giving our eyes practice at distance so they deteriorate faster. But like if you.
• 1:10:30
Speaker B: I'm not gonna argue against that because your eye is a muscle.
• 1:10:34
Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And apparently like, you know, a 65 year old rancher who's out on, you know, in the field all day, like he just, that kind of guy just does not have the same deterioration, you know, and obviously there's exceptions, but what Andrew Huberman was saying was that like just generally if you're working outside in open space, you're, you're not gonna have the same kind of deterioration.
• 1:10:58
  Speaker B: That's crazy.
• 1:10:59
Speaker A: Yeah. He says do the, what was it? It was the 20, 2020 rule, I think. So he said every 20 minutes focus on something 20ft away for 20 seconds. And that helps.
• 1:11:17
Speaker B: Yeah, I'll check that out.
• 1:11:20
Speaker A: Yeah. Well, dude, I think we covered it all. We, we did have a topic tonight, but I think we ran out of time for it.
• 1:11:30
Speaker B: Let's. Well, I didn't get into that because one, I don't have my glasses on me. So your text was like, like it's already hard for me to read my phone. And then I saw this fucking five page text come through and I was like, oh. And I'm like sitting here squinting the whole time. And then because I do a podcast at 9:00 clock up until like 8:50, like somebody wants my, my, my attention. And so I was like, you know what, we'll have to read it during the podcast, which is fine, but I don't know anything about that person.
• 1:12:08
Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, I, I'm. Yeah, we can, we can do it next week if we don't have a better topic and we can get into all that. It's. First of all, I'm sorry I annoyed you with my friendship.
• 1:12:24
Speaker B: No, I was cool with it, dude. I was cool with it.
• 1:12:27
Speaker A: You noticed 5 page text come in.
• 1:12:32
Speaker B: But you, you notice when I stopped responding, I was like, she, like, I kept responding and eventually she was like, all right, well I'm going to go to the room and get, and turn on the TV and lay in there and, and get ready for, like, you know, the night. And I'm like, oh, I'm not giving you attention. So now you. Yeah, now that's all good. Now you're. You're. You're. You're like, I'm out of here. Which I would do the same. I'd be like, oh, okay. Like, so I don't. I don't falter for that. So. But I have to. I wanted to learn who that person is first.
• 1:13:08
Speaker A: He is the husband of the lady who killed her three kids.
• 1:13:13
Speaker B: Okay. I don't. I know people are, like, blaming him. I don't know why. It's all.
• 1:13:17
Speaker A: It's all horseshit. We can, you know, spend two minutes on that if you want to. But what I was really more interested in is, like, how do we take the. That story and, like, apply it to, like, how should the husband's role have prevented that from ever getting as far as it got? You know? So I just had chat. GPT give me, like, a page or two about, like, discussion. Questions about caring for the people in your household and stuff.
• 1:13:49
Speaker B: Well, I think. I actually think that's a really good topic. So. Stretch marks. You know, he had this girlfriend. He has this girlfriend or had I kind of ruined it. He's dating this girl, and then, like, yeah. So, like, she's a cool chick, but she sounds like a lot. And. And so he. He goes to church and, like, mind you, I don't know if I told you last week that he got, like, safety infraction. Yeah. You did all this. Yeah, I did.
• 1:14:22
  Speaker A: I did.
• 1:14:23
Speaker B: And so he's talking to me. He goes, yes. You know, Friday night, this happened. That happened. You know, I want to go hang out with my boys. But she had expectations of me hanging out with her, and so, you know, like, ended up being fine. I went and hung out with my boys. And then, like, Sunday, I go to church, and he's like, I'm just kind of going through or whatever. And he's like, the pastor says if, like, you shouldn't be with someone that's not evenly yoked. And so he's like, well, she's. We're not evenly yoked. And I'm like, what do you. What do you mean by that? He was, well, like, she's not where I'm at in my Christian walk. In her Christian walk.
• 1:15:02
Speaker A: That's not what that was.
• 1:15:04
Speaker B: And I was like, okay, let's look at this in another, like, realm. I said, I'm a superintendent. You're a superintendent. You're not at my level. So Do I fire you or do I work with you to make you, to bring you up to my level? We're both superintendents. We're just at two different points in our careers. And he was like, yeah, now that you put it like that, you know, and he goes, you know, some. So he goes home and breaks up with her that Sunday. And this is like Tuesday or Monday that we're talking. And I'm like, okay. And then like in beach, it was Monday. In between Sunday night or Sunday afternoon when he breaks up with her. And Monday morning, he realizes he has a pride issue and a heart issue. It's not her, it's his pride and heart. And I'm like, dude, like, man, you're so. You're so reactive, like, you're so knee jerk reactive, like you don't sit with shit. And so I'm like, okay, as her man, because he's like, you know, I read my Bible every day. I don't just say I read it, I read it. And he's like, I don't know if she really. I never see her reading it. And I can't imagine her reading at work. He's like, so, you know, and he's just like, kind of like trying to like, I think justify at, at some point that, you know, like, at first, this is before we get to the whole. To his pride and stuff. And I'm like, okay, that's kind of our jobs as men to like, lead our brides to what we need. For instance, tonight we're trying to remodel rooms before the move in, before her sign comes home for. For his vacation. And so she's like, hey. I said, hey. She goes, man, we really got to get on this, you know, because we've been slacking this week. And I'm like, no, I get it, dude. I was like, let's set it. Let's. Let's do the self leveling on Friday. We'll finish the tile on on Saturday, we'll grout it on Sunday. And then the rest of the week we could just kind of build the. The beds. And. And she's like, well, you know, Sunday, we. And I'm like, oh, shoot, we got church on Sunday. She's like, and we got to go to my mom's. And I'm like, you know what, dude? We'll check out this new church when we get back from. From fucking Maryland the following weekend. And. Because next weekend we're going to Maryland. And so she was like, well, okay, that, that works, but we still have to Go to my mom's. I'm like, we have to go to your mom's. You know? I know. She wants me to, like, shorten her mom's, like, bracelet, and she wants to move a bookshelf. And so she's like, yeah, we gotta go to my mom's. I was like, then we might as well go to church. And she's like, no, we're not gonna go to church. We'll go to my mom's, though. I. She's like, church is optional. My mom's is not. I have to, like, go help my mom move some furniture. And I'm like, yeah, but if we're gonna be out, why don't we just hit church and then go to your mom's? And she's kind of having a problem with this. I said, here's the situation. I said, here's how it's going to happen. As the leader of this house, we're going to church, and we'll also go to your mom's. And she's like, well, I don't want to, like, hijack your time on the weekend. And I'm like, no, it's fine. I'm not going to be in a rush. Like, I'm not. I'm like, I'm not going to be in rush. I was like, you know what? Let me back up. I would really appreciate it if we are going to go to your mom's, which we are, that we would also go to church, and I would really love for you to join me. And then she was like, I'll think about it. And I was like, yeah, that's kind of up. You know? She's like, well, I don't know if I want to go. And I'm like, okay, whatever, dude. I'm like, do you not just want to. You just don't want to go to church? Like, what is it? You know? But all that to say that, like, I. I had to state, hey, I'm the leader of this house. This is what we're doing. However, I realized that, you know, I could have been like, hey, as your man, it's important for me to go to church, and I would really love it if you went with me. I think that would probably been better route. But the whole I. The whole argument behind it is, as the COVID of our house, I am making this decision, and I would want you to get on board with it.
• 1:19:42
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:19:45
Speaker B: So I think that's actually a really good topic. Yeah. Because the alternative is, I think we bring the 70s back. Because I guarantee you in the 70s, she wouldn't have killed no three kids. She'd be too busy cleaning and making dinner for when his ass got home. She wouldn't have time to kill no kid.
• 1:20:06
Speaker A: Well, keep in mind, he was out on an errand for her. So, like, no, that wouldn't have happened. I. I did hold my peace. To Miami, respectfully. Church is not optional. And to stretch marks, respectfully, that verse is about being unevenly yoked with unbelievers. Not different levels. I'm sure. I'm sure you took him there. I just. I. I would have. I would have solved that in seven words or less.
• 1:20:39
Speaker B: I was like, dude, is that really how you took it, dog?
• 1:20:42
Speaker A: Like, dude, he made a massive life choice off of that.
• 1:20:47
Speaker B: Just the diversity in church, dude, you didn't sit there and be like, damn, half these people shouldn't be here, or, you know, like, you know what I mean? Like, just based off of your. Your thought process, you think you would have left church looking at the church differently, even, you know?
• 1:21:04
Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. It is weird how, like, that only applies to people who aren't married, because, like, inevitably in a marriage, you're gonna end up in different, you know, which is weird to even measure. But let's just for the sake of the argument, say that there's, like, better Christians than others. But, like, eventually, like, one person in the marriage is gonna be, like, unevenly yoked in that sense. So, like, do they get divorced? What? I mean, like, what. Like, why is it that we can only apply that to relationships that aren't permanent, you know?
• 1:21:40
Speaker B: Well, because God didn't create divorce. I mean, didn't, sure. But doesn't desire divorce.
• 1:21:45
Speaker A: But, like, they didn't have that kind of dating or anything back then. So, like, what does that mean back then, you know?
• 1:21:51
Speaker B: And, like. Yeah, so you have to change a lot of shit.
• 1:21:53
Speaker A: You have to find someone who's exactly in your place and believes all your same stuff and then, like, hope that
• 1:22:00
Speaker B: you never change and does and does what you do. Now, mind you, she is a Christian who goes on active mission trips to Africa.
• 1:22:12
  Speaker A: Okay?
• 1:22:13
Speaker B: But because she doesn't have the same desire and, like, pizzazz and fire that he does for the Lord and doesn't read in front of him. They're unevenly yoked.
• 1:22:25
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:22:26
Speaker B: And I was like, what in the malarkey are they teaching you over there?
• 1:22:33
Speaker A: When in reality, the reason to break up with her is because she wanted to take a picture of herself on your bed. That's. That's when it should have ended, but she doesn't read her Bible enough, dude.
• 1:22:45
Speaker B: I would have ended it at the, the. The first date when she was like, do you have any gluten free options? I'd been like, I'm out. I'm not doing this. You're. I'm sorry, I can't. We're going to have children. I'm not doing this, dude. You know what I mean? Like,
• 1:23:06
Speaker A: yeah. So anyways, I think that'll be a good topic for next week, but if we come up with something more alluring, we can jump into that.
• 1:23:15
Speaker B: I love it, man. All right, brother. Well, you have a good night.
• 1:23:18
Speaker A: All right. You too, man. Appreciate it. Thank you. Oh, we. Did we ever introduce the show?
• 1:23:24
Speaker B: Never. Never introduced the show. You never named me.
• 1:23:28
  Speaker A: That's right.
• 1:23:28
Speaker B: I just went with Negan for you.
• 1:23:31
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 1:23:32
  Speaker B: So.
• 1:23:33
Speaker A: Well, you know. Welcome to Pseudonyms and thank you for listening to Pseudonyms. Goodbye, everybody.
