- 0:01Hello. Welcome to the No God Coach
- 0:03Hollow for February 23rd, 2026. A
- 0:06two-minute call from God's playbook to
- 0:08know him better so we can love and obey
- 0:10him more. Let's hear today's play from 2
- 0:13Corinthians 11. Are they servants of the
- 0:16Messiah? I'm talking like a madman. I'm
- 0:19I'm a better one. I've worked much
- 0:20harder. Been imprisoned more often,
- 0:23suffered more beatings, been near death
- 0:26over and over. Five times I received 40
- 0:28lashes less one from the Jews. Three
- 0:31times I was beaten with rods. Once I was
- 0:34stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. I
- 0:37spent a night and a day in the open sea.
- 0:39In my many travels I've been exposed to
- 0:42danger from rivers. Danger from robbers.
- 0:45Danger from my own people. Danger from
- 0:47Gentiles. Danger in the city. Danger in
- 0:50the desert. Danger at sea. Danger from
- 0:53false brothers. I've toiled and endured
- 0:56hardship, often not had enough sleep,
- 0:59been hungry and thirsty, frequently gone
- 1:01without food, been cold and naked. Then,
- 1:05let me ask you something today. If you
- 1:07had to defend your faith, what would you
- 1:09point to? Your church attendance, your
- 1:11giving, your service hours, your Bible
- 1:14knowledge? Paul did it differently in 2
- 1:17Corinthians 11. He lists beatings,
- 1:19imprisonments, shipwrecks, hunger, cold,
- 1:21and danger. That was his resume. Not
- 1:24numbers, not crowds, not applause,
- 1:27scars. Why? Because suffering reveals
- 1:30commitment. Anyone can follow Jesus when
- 1:33it's easy. Anyone can serve when it's
- 1:35comfortable. But sacrifice proves
- 1:38sincerity. Paul could have talked about
- 1:40churches planted and souls saved. He had
- 1:42plenty of fruit, but he focused on the
- 1:44cost. Because fruit can be
- 1:46misunderstood, but suffering can't. It
- 1:49says this matters more than any comfort.
- 1:52This matters more than my reputation.
- 1:54This matters more than my life. That's
- 1:56disciplehip. And most of us, if we had
- 1:59to list our suffering for Christ, what
- 2:01would we say? A donation, a busy
- 2:03schedule, a volunteer shift, good
- 2:06things, costly for many of us, not much.
- 2:10And that should humble us. Jesus said,
- 2:12"Whoever loses his life for my sake in
- 2:14the gospel will find it." Disciplehip is
- 2:17costly by design. Sometimes that cost
- 2:20looks like persecution, but more often
- 2:23it looks like sacrifice. I met a man who
- 2:25meant a job, loved a job that he had. He
- 2:28only worked hard to earn, but he his son
- 2:32eventually said to him, "Dad, I saw you
- 2:34on TV, but I haven't seen you at any of
- 2:36my games." And so what did he do? He
- 2:38gave up his income. He gave up his
- 2:40status. He gave up his recognition to
- 2:43disciple his family. That's suffering
- 2:45for Christ. That's leadership. That's
- 2:48obedience. The goal isn't pain. The goal
- 2:50is glory. We don't chase hardship, but
- 2:53we chase faithfulness. And if obre
- 2:56obedience brings hardship, then so be
- 2:58it. Jesus is worth it. True disciples
- 3:01push everything to the center of the
- 3:03table. Time, money, gifts, dreams,
- 3:06plans. All yours, Lord. Use it anywhere,
- 3:09anytime, with anyone. Men, too many of
- 3:12us are playing Christianity, attending,
- 3:14consuming, observing, but not
- 3:16surrendering. Jesus didn't die to make
- 3:18us comfortable. He died to make us
- 3:21faithful. Run today's play. Ask
- 3:24yourself, what is following Jesus cost
- 3:26me? Reorder your priorities. Put Christ
- 3:28before career, before comfort, before
- 3:31reputation. Sacrifice for your family.
- 3:34Be present. Be intentional. And offer
- 3:36God everything. Mean it, then live it.
- 3:39Boast in faithfulness. Boast in
- 3:41obedience. Boast in the cost. And lay
- 3:44down your life so others can find Jesus.
- 3:47If this huddle helps you know God better
- 3:49so you love and obey him more, share it
- 3:51with a friend and write a comment that
- 3:53helps other men find their way into the
- 3:55huddle.
