  [rock music] Good evening, everybody.
• 0:19
Good morning, good afternoon, 'cause you can catch this pod whenever you feel like it. On- Technically it's- On demand radio On demand radio... on demand radio, folks. [laughs] Takes it back.
• 0:29
I'm starting to second guess that- [laughs]... 'cause people search for podcasts, so. Understood. Which we're way ahead of our time with the- Exactly, yeah... on demand radio folks. Everyone's- And podcast...
• 0:37
put a pin in it. And podcast. Yeah, man. Show number 31, folks. Oh. Oh. So before the end of the year, do we... We gonna get up to f- Nah, there's not that many weeks left in the year, are there? No.
• 0:50
Uh, we might leave the, the- We could count, but that hurts... the eight or the, what is it? The demographic? The, uh, what is it, 21 to 35 demographic? Oh. Oh. [laughs] You're, like, really technically an adult then.
• 1:07
Yeah. [laughs] Wonder what the average age, age of a podcast/on demand radio listener is. Betcha it's low. Think so? For, what do you think for our show?
• 1:20
Oh, for our show, I'm hoping it's, 'cause we're very impolite, I'm hoping it's higher. [laughs] We tend to drop some- Probably a little older... you know. Yeah. I would imagine. Did I, I- Or more mature.
• 1:32
I, uh, I'm, 'cause I'm horrible with names and everyone knows that. I, uh, I'm not sur- sure if I told you the story where I was riding my, uh, uh, my bike home from work, and a guy came up alongside of me
• 1:45
on his fat bike, and I asked him if he was running tubeless or not, and we got into a discussion, and he said, um, he's like, I, I told him I worked at Everyday Cycles, and he said, uh, he's like, "Oh."
• 1:58
He's like, "Wait a second. You're Tony from the podcast, aren't you?" Oh, nice. And I was like- Oh... "Uh, yeah."
• 2:05
He's like, "You're kinda the reason," and I really feel bad I don't, can't remember his name, because he listens, and he's cool, and he should call in.
• 2:11
But he said, "You're kind of the first guy that told me about fat bikes at, uh, at Raisin Dirt Mountain Bike Park." Oh, wow. Yeah, it was- Yeah, that was a while back...
• 2:20
there he was, uh, riding, riding a fat bike, and recognized my freaking voice from- Yeah... a, uh, you know, from, from a bike ride. Yeah, that was kinda like you and Bill when he came in and- Exactly...
• 2:32
was on the show and you're like- That was exactly the same feeling. [laughs] I don't know who you are or what you look like- Wait a-... but I recognize your voice... just a timeout. [laughs] Kinda eerie.
• 2:41
I, we should maybe when we're down at the, uh, Funduro coming up here in, uh, just a little over a week,
• 2:47
uh, maybe we should do a who recognizes whose voice the most between the Burning Bike podcast, the, uh, Danger Nome podcast, the Fat Dose Weekly, Now Occasional Dose of Fat podcast- Sure...
• 3:03
or Full Spectrum Cycling- Full Spectrum... on demand radio. On demand radio. [laughs] Yeah, man. So hey, we're getting quite the, quite the network of shows.
• 3:13
Hopefully, uh, there's enough people out there to find some of what some of these people do interesting. I know I do. Hell yeah. I do. I listen. Not ours, but others, for sure. Yes. Oh, yeah.
• 3:25
Kinda gotta listen to your own too once in a while and make sure you don't sound really crazy.
• 3:29
Well, I, I, uh, I, I preview them just to make sure there's nothing super offensive, because I don't really pay attention to what I say- [laughs]... when I do this thing at all. Unscripted, unapologetic. Yep, yep, yep.
• 3:41
All up in your ear. Slightly explicit. Moderately. It's like game- I, uh, it's f-... gent- gent- gently, gently explicit.
• 3:50
It was funny when, when Bill was on and he's- Oh, he was so, he was like, "Oh, I get to say the naughty words." [laughs] Oh, he was like freaking [laughs] shit. That was cool. It was great. I loved it.
• 3:57
I was like, "Yeah, shit." And I know you guys gave him praise last week when I was away at one of the greatest shows ever, Sleater Kinney. Um, but that,
• 4:07
that Biketoberfest ride was really, re- even though I crashed, was really, really- We did, we did mention that too... I know. I heard. How was, uh- I listened...
• 4:15
by the way, everybody, Tony's back in the studio- How, how were-... in case you didn't know... the boo boos? Uh, I'm, uh, the hip is still really ugly, purpley, black bruised now.
• 4:23
It took like three days before anything even showed up. Sure. Oh, does it get that yellowish kind of goo? Yeah, it did, and then all of a sudden, yeah, got, got- And then standing up, everything rushes down- But, but-...
• 4:33
and looks delightful... to be honest with you, I, it's good to know that I can still roll and, and, you know- Oh, hell yeah... it's just fine.
• 4:38
But him pulling off that trip through the cemetery, um, the little hike-a-bike where we had to get off our bikes or some of us had to get off our bikes and run up the hill, that was just such a fun night.
• 4:49
Such a, such a fun night. That was unexpected. Yeah, that was good. Mm-hmm. That, that was, yeah. E- e- every time. That's why I was praising him on that. Mm-hmm. I'm just like, I never...
• 4:59
First off, I never know what direction the hell I'm going in. Right. Me neither. You know, he just puts... Yeah, I mean, if you look from point A to B right from the start, you knew. Yep.
• 5:11
But you didn't go that direction. It was like, "Wee." So that's- Go down this way... that's something we're gonna have to work on for- [laughs] So w- instead of doing the- It was liter- like, literally- Straight... like
• 5:23
15 blocks west on the same damn road. True that. [laughs] And we, I- But it worked out really well. Oh, hell yeah. So, uh, we were talking about this crusher ride- Mm-hmm...
• 5:34
getting this thing going, and it looks like it's going to be a spring thing, so we've got some time. Just in time.
• 5:40
And I've been, I've been, uh, I've been thinking of the north route, and what we need is something like that, because it's basically a go out there and come back thing. Yeah.
• 5:50
But there needs to be go through this thing and around that thing and down there and this and that. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And, um, I think Pitch's might be in. Huh? There you go. Be a good stop.
• 5:59
There's a, there's a, you know, 150 people capacity at least at that place, plus the parking lot. Oh, hell yeah. Pitch's right there? Pitch's Bitches right down the road. Nice.
• 6:08
Yeah, Jimmy said he'd open up and do food and everything, so- Oh, that'd be awesome... depending on whether we wanna... You know, we don't have a lunch stop, technically speaking, if we don't go to the valley and...
• 6:17
'Cause I'm thinking Collender might be as far south as we go. Mm-hmm. But we can't if we're doing- gonna do the Crusher ride. Right, you gotta go- So I'm thinking Steel is Real, that's what I'm thinking. I know.
• 6:27
I got two rides in mind. Oh. [laughs] Yeah. I got two rides. Yeah, this- you suddenly changed- Two different rides in mind... quite a bit there. I'm l- I'm like, wow, this is in p- Like, why don't we- Yeah...
• 6:33
eat lunch at Pitch's and then go ride all the way to the south side? No, no, no, no. I was smiling and nodding that one. Yeah, no. And I'm like- Sorry, okay, okay, okay, okay... I'm like, okay, all right, all right.
• 6:40
Okay, okay, okay, okay. This is where it was headed out. Wait, wait, wait. Okay. I'm thinking Steel is Real is what I'm thinking. [laughs] Going up there. Crusher ride, different story. That's gotta go south.
• 6:49
[laughs] All right. My brain is frazzled, folks. No, no. Yeah. I was gonna say, okay, well, he's- See?... tired. This is how rides get planned, you- Exactly... sit around- Critical brains...
• 6:57
and then you go ride, and then you see if that worked, and then you do a different version of it and you go, "That's good, now we'll take people on it." I like it. So basically, that's what I'm getting at.
• 7:05
We gotta maybe do some riding, uh, just with these in mind. Yeah, scheme. Scheme. Scheme, scheme, scheme. So what riding did you guys do over the weekend? Hmm. Went down to, uh, uh, Indeed. How was that? Uh- Yeah.
• 7:21
They're launching block party. It was damn awesome. Nice. I missed, uh, Young Revelators, which I was kinda bummed on at two, but caught Platinum Boys. Oh, they ripped it. New album release is Thursday? Friday. Friday.
• 7:38
Yep, yep. Get yourself a vinyl- Or tonight... or tonight if you're listening to this... Well- [laughs]... 'cause you are listening to this tonight. Uh, get yourself down.
• 7:45
I believe they're gonna have them at, uh- Is it, uh-... at, uh, High Dive. Yeah. Well, uh- Give 'em- Oh, oh, no, no... you know, that's where Joey works... uh, uh, Friday is, uh, uh, at Mothership. Oh, Mothership. Okay.
• 7:59
Mothership is the, uh, launching launch- Official launch... I believe. Yeah. I ran across that just- Platinum Boys is a lot of fun. Yeah. They're great live. Oh, and it was damn funny 'cause
• 8:11
that tap room brewery is not e- really equipped bathroom-wise- Mm... for a block party. Indeed. Indeed- Indeed... it is not, because there were two, and [laughs]
• 8:25
just waiting forever behind this one guy, and he's like, "You might wanna try the other line." If it's a block party, they should get dang old port-a-potties out there.
• 8:32
Yeah, I just missed 'em, and I just thought it was gonna be easier indoors, like, uh, civilized. Oh, so you're blaming this on being ill-equipped- But... No, I'm not blaming it...
• 8:40
but you could have used the port-a-potty. No. I, I wouldn't give this back for the world. Oh, okay. 'Cause finally- So this story's gonna be good... finally somebody goes,
• 8:49
you know, "Okay, this guy's been in here for 20 minutes," you know? Unle- you know, "He must be having, like, really problems with whatever." He's dead. No. It was, uh, Lex Allen.
• 8:58
[laughs] He cracks the door open, "I'm putting my eyelashes on," [laughs]
• 9:04
and slams the door 'cause he was going on stage [laughs] in, like, 10 fucking- Spea- speaking of Lex Allen, we should put a little- Nice, nice dressing room... we should put a link- Oh, my God, it was so brilliant...
• 9:15
to his newest video- I'm like, this makes perfect sense... in the l- the, the notes because it is a great biking video of Milwaukee. Oh, is that- From, from Platinum Boys? No, L- Lex Allen. Oh, his, his own damn self?
• 9:26
Is that, uh- Uh- I, I- The, the- Straw Gold. I'm... Yeah, Greg, can you help us do a- I don't know. I'll look it up- Yeah... and find it. We're gonna- It, it's, uh...
• 9:38
It's, it's really a great- These folks can't see it right now anyway, so- Yeah... we'll get it in the show notes. You can look it up at the show notes and check it out because it's, uh- I see nothing...
• 9:45
it features, uh, Vulture Space and- Oh, right on... and he, he rides one of their crazy bikes and- Yeah, they're still doing the tall bike thing down there? Um, they have a big tall bike still down there and they,
• 9:56
you know- The shifty- Yeah... swing bike. Wee, wee, wee. Ooh, that was a crazy... Yeah, those are, those are crazy bikes. Crazy bikes. Crazy bikes. So, uh, anyone, what's going on this weekend? We are, I'm hoping...
• 10:09
Oh, let's do this. [bell ringing] Ah, just top of the hill. Let's top of the hill, folks. Top of the hill. We're climbing. If I were, if I were a cow, this is how I would- Then you...
• 10:19
Yeah, you would be trotting out to the field to pasture, to feed. Or present. You know. I pr- [laughs] We must have had this beer on the show before. We have definitely had this beer on the show before.
• 10:32
Kitty Corner from the Shop Black Husky Brewery. It's a very fine brewery. It's- And we got Dogfather. A very fine beer. IPA. It is a fantastic IPA. I, it, I... Was, is it 6.8? It was written on the label.
• 10:47
Ah, when you- We got a growler, folks, this time. Yeah, we have a growler 'cause, you know- They, they'll fill your growler up over there... fresh beer is the best. Fresh is best. You know? Um, for sure.
• 10:54
Yeah, they have, uh, they have, they have contributed... or not contributed, other than contributing beer to the, uh, podcast m- more than several times. Yeah. They should sponsor. They should. They should.
• 11:07
Should sponsor the show. Yeah. That's what they should do. Tony, Tim. [laughs] Sponsor the show, folks. Hello. They're cyclists. They do the, the, what, it's not the Art of Shore. What's the... Scenic Shore 150. Mm.
• 11:20
Somewhere up there where- Up there where it's scenic... where it's scenic, and there's a shore. Yeah. Yep. So I had a, a little note on the old show notes here about how bikes are used stupidly in a lot of ads. Yeah.
• 11:34
I don't, I don't know what I was thinking, but I- I don't know, but I- Well, you, you sent-... I thought about it... I sent you an ad and you said, "Isn't it funny how the bike is used in this so stupidly?"
• 11:44
What was the ad? I, it was- Oh, it was the, the, like, the, the woman in a, a bikini, like- Well, that was-... really, like, getting rad over some rocks- That was a-... and it's like, uh- Oh, that was a...
• 11:55
Yeah, that was Boulder Bikes from back in the old days. I'm not sure if that- Is that Photoshopped, you think? Yeah. Yeah. I, I- No, I, I'm thinking currently on television or if you're watching- Like, Target...
• 12:05
uh, YouTube and you get an ad in, in the, in the front of something you're watching, there's a lot of things with bikes where the... It's, the bike isn't the thing. It's not an ad for Chumba. It's not an ad for Surly.
• 12:15
It's an ad for-... something entirely unrelated, and they use cycling to make it seem like they're hip or cool or whatever.
• 12:23
Uh, one of them I think is maybe for a bank and like they're trying to get a loan or something, and there's a guy ostensibly truing a wheel on a truing stand, but he's just like- I haven't seen this...
• 12:33
yeah, it's a, you know, he's- I don't really, yeah... can we put a link to this in the notes too? Yeah, I don't know if I can find these, but- I just kinda, anytime an ad comes up, I really kinda, "Well, raw."
• 12:41
What, what I wonder is partly, I mean, television they can't do it. On the web it's probably a lot easier. Right.
• 12:48
If because we're interested in cycling, they show s- like they have 50 different versions of an ad- Yeah... and one of them has cycling in it just because- 'Cause we always do cycling... I'm interested. Yeah.
• 12:56
The other one was, there was one from a bank that sent me something in the mail like, "Would you like to grow your business?"
• 13:02
And it was, you know, a bike on there, and I don't think they knew I had a bike shop, but- Maybe they do... they, well, maybe they do. I don't know.
• 13:09
I just think they, they're using cycling in advertising to give the appearance of, uh, hip coolness or something. I, I see that. We're, I think we should maybe keep our eyes out. Where are these? Yeah.
• 13:21
'Cause there's a lot of examples. Yeah. Yeah, we should. Yeah. I, I just don't- And each week we should make this a r- a, a weekly topic. A we- the, the stupid, stupid ad of the week.
• 13:28
Are you [laughs] 'Cause there was the one, of course, for, um- Ah... where the guy was- Do I have a homework assignment that I have to watch- Yeah, you know, TV-... freaking ads?
• 13:35
[laughs] There's the commercial for hepatitis C. Dude, that just sounds horrible.
• 13:39
There, there's a commercial for hepatitis C where the people are all like, all of a sudden these, these kids are putting on helmets and, and riding bikes away. Huh. And it's like, huh, well, there you go.
• 13:49
I bet if there's- It's the opposite of-... if there's like-... of hip-... skateboarding, uh, on-demand radio shows out there-... yeah... I bet they have the same thought. It's like- I, totally...
• 13:56
they always throw skateboards in an advertisement. Preparation H will have a, uh- 'Cause you fall on your ass all the time. Mm. You gotta take care of your tuckus. Or you just gotta take care of your crease.
• 14:06
[singing] Yeah. If I can feel comfortable talking about this tuckus. [laughs] Uh. I don't know. So isn't this weekend the cleanup for, uh, Zion Beach? Zion, it's a, it's a beach ride with, uh- So it's, uh-...
• 14:19
some cleaning. Yeah, is it like, uh, would that be tomorrow? I think that's a, I think- That would be Sunday. Oh, it's Sunday. The 27th.
• 14:25
Later in the afternoon too, which is good because earlier in the day is the last NICA race of the Wisconsin High School Cycling League- Oh, man... or whatever they call it, NICA.
• 14:37
And, uh, that's out at Trek Trails where they had the, uh, UCI cyclocross race a couple weeks ago. I don't know if you watched it here yet. I watched part of it.
• 14:48
We've, we've got it on, uh, NBC Cycling Gold, folks, if you wanna come by and watch any kind of cycling stuff. They had so much [laughs] mud there.
• 14:56
I don't know if the, they were concerned the trails wouldn't be kind of functional again. Yeah. Well, you- But apparently they will be. It's- And maybe kids like getting muddy. Is your kid racing it? Yep. Okay.
• 15:08
Long as he's in, feeling good, you know. He doesn't race if he's not feeling it. [laughs] And, uh, where, where is it? No, I'm not feeling it. Where is this actually? Where is it?
• 15:16
Trek Trails are in Waterloo right near the factory there. Oh, gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
• 15:19
It, I mean, they've got their own land and, uh, they, I dunno if they're on other people's land too, but it's an extensive network where they test bikes and- Cool...
• 15:28
and they've been having, uh, one of the cyclocross, you know, it's a World Cup cyclocross race. Uh, they've, maybe fourth year or something, so.
• 15:38
And this is the first year it's been this muddy, and if y'all get a chance to watch either the men's or the- It was-... women's race, it was- It was cool. [laughs] It was sloppy. Yeah.
• 15:47
[laughs] You, when I was- Sloppy Joe... in here with Molly when we were test riding those bikes and we, I just made comment of, "Oh, you know, that guy's really riding well. He hasn't fallen yet."
• 15:57
And as soon as I said it he just biffed hard. Oh, he slammed into a log- Yeah... and hit his helmet. It looked, it looked painful. Yep. Wow. [laughs] Good jinxing. I know. I, I'm terrible at that.
• 16:06
[laughs] I think we're dialing those- Always... uh, I think we're dialing those Ziyes bikes in now. Yeah, the, the, oh, those tires. We're good.
• 16:14
They're, they are so much nicer now that that weird, I can see the tire from here. Yeah. That is the strangest, I don't know why someone thought- It's some kind of Kenda tire that's like-...
• 16:23
some engineer thought that was a good idea. Or it looks cool. I think it's like a beach cruiser tire. It, yeah, I suppose. If you're- It's kinda like a cheater slick...
• 16:29
only gonna move more than about 15 degrees off of what you're riding. Right. Yeah, if you're just doing the boardwalk- Yeah... you look kinda cool on it. Yeah. It's got a, so it's got a turning radius of about 120 feet.
• 16:39
Right. It's on your '57 Cadillac, which also has a turning radius- Yeah [laughs]... of about 120 feet. 120 feet. [laughs] Yeah, exactly. Well, and happy, speaking of, happy birthday, Patrick, from Palapa.
• 16:49
Oh, yeah, for sure. Just recent. Patrick Nethebeck, ladies and gentlemen, my, my oldest friend in the world since he and I have known each other since before we were born. Yeah? [laughs] How old is he? He, oh, 70.
• 17:02
God, he's gotta be in, in the 57 neighborhood-ish- [laughs]... somewhere 'cause, uh, well, his dad and my old man hung out a lot in the old days and drove the VW bus down to Arizona to ride motorcycles in the cactus,
• 17:15
and my dad rode one into a cactus, I recall. Ouch. [laughs] Yep. Nice. They used, they were still doing the road tripping thing even when we were, when we were borned. Wow. Nice. Which I totally am behind.
• 17:27
We should road trip a lot more than we do. Yeah, you know, we should have more vacation so we can more road trip. More money and more vacations and less work and more road trip. Yeah.
• 17:37
That's the goal for- That, that would be-... 2020, folks. [laughs] That would be a pretty freaking outstanding goal. Are you, are you hearing this, Tony Evers? You are my real boss. [laughs] So please- Oh...
• 17:51
use everything at your disposal to make my life more fun. Yeah, I, I would- [laughs] You know, I would like to do more road tripping. I will admit that. Yep.
• 18:00
With- I'm excited, you know, which is, I know we're technically- I'd have a-...
• 18:03
a full spectrum cycling on-demand radio show, but I am really excited to buy my first automatic in a few years, and that's gonna be the electric VW Bus. Yeah. That'll carry a couple bikes and a couple people.
• 18:17
That'll carry stuff and camp well. Yeah, yeah. Pull the bikes out-...
• 18:21
mattress in the back, you know By the time they get that thing on the road, range should be much less of an issue and there should be many more- 'Cause 2022 is when they're talking about releasing the, the, you know- Many more charge stations...
• 18:32
I'll go for 2024, you know? Would it take forever to solar charge it? Yeah. [laughs] You gotta have a pretty good current to get that- You'd have to have a pretty-... up to snuff... they...
• 18:42
Okay, I, uh, we'll, we'll say with my array at home, no, it would- Would, you could-... charge well... Yeah, just put it on, put the- But you gotta drill 16 panels... put it on top of your [laughs] It's a, it's a bus...
• 18:52
[laughs] Just strap a couple panels- But I got your audio... on the top. Come on. You'd need- You know how to do this... a few more than a couple of panels- It's a challenge... to charge this.
• 18:59
And- Just pull, pull, pull it behind with a trailer... you know, you know, I'm such an electric- This can work... nut This can work...
• 19:04
they also to, to, you know, not have anything to do with cycling, they've come out with the first crate purchase electric motor. So I can electrify my Fiat 850? You can electrify pretty much anything with this.
• 19:18
Front or rear drive. It, it is... I was reading the specs and it's 144 horsepower. That works. You know? Yeah. [laughs] It's, it's, uh- You should put it on that long tail fat bike- You know... and see how it works.
• 19:30
[laughs] It's insane. Um, but it, you know, it is small enough to fit in a Mini. Not a new Mini, but like an original Mini. Sweet.
• 19:40
Yeah, it's, that, that's gonna be a really, that's a game changer for converting old ve- you know, ice vehicles, if you will, into really fun electric cars. So anyway, let's get- Ice, ice baby...
• 19:52
let's get off this topic because there's nothing- Did you go to Trash Bash? Anyone go to Trash Bash? I did not.
• 19:57
I, I had to go home because I went to El Rongo and my friend, turns out, doesn't really like metal very much, so we had to leave and go home. Well, I went to- You weren't at, you were at El Rongo?
• 20:08
Yeah, but I missed El Rongo. I- Okay... was there for the opening bands. Ah, gotcha. 'Cause we had- Scanlan stopped in, uh, this last week, so. Yeah. I, I, I ended up popping in as they were on
• 20:23
in, like, must have been like their, like they'd just started- Yeah... which was awesome timing. I, I was at Vortice and, uh- Yeah... Florida Brothers. Yes. That was, they- Which I bought my first- Friday was-...
• 20:34
two new vinyl albums in the last 30 years at that show because I felt...
• 20:39
It was, there was, there was so much going on last Friday night that I think, uh, the shows kind of overlapped into who would have been at either show. Oh, that, that sucks. So, um- Yeah, I-...
• 20:49
so I got to talk to Tony for quite a while from Vortice, and he's very cool and loves coming up and playing at Circle A. They're from Chicago. And, uh, I figured, "Well, they made it all this way, I'll buy an album."
• 21:01
So I did. Give 'em a little bit of gas money. And then the, you know, Florida Brothers too. They're, um, they're kind of an El Rongo sort of a thing, although they have a singer, but it's drums and bass. No guitar.
• 21:13
And he does the same kind of multiple amp thing, and it makes- Right, right, cool... a lot of racket, is what it does. Yeah. And it sounds cool. Nice, nice. Yeah. Cool and loud and rackety. Yeah, yeah.
• 21:22
If our, if our space was just a little bigger, it would be really cool to have, like, a stereo here and some vinyl. We could have stereo and vinyl. You know, people could come in- People just have to buy a lot of shit...
• 21:33
just, you know, you wanna come in and just, you know- Yeah, just buy a lot of this product... buy a bunch of this crap- Throw an album down... and we'll have plenty of room in here. Yeah, just buy off this rack.
• 21:39
You know? All of it. Throw an album down. Let's listen to this shit. [laughs] Speaking of buying crap, somebody bought one of our custom ice cream trucks. That was such an awesome order. Yeah. Watch me while passing by.
• 21:49
Yeah. Unfortunately it wasn't one I wanted- Oh my, oh my my... but I had to talk myself out of buying.
• 21:53
Well, I think this is a good plan because, uh, as a Surly dealer, we can't sell bikes and ship them if they're stock configuration, but if we build them up from a frame- Custom...
• 22:04
make them custom, we get to go around that little- And that, you know, I'm, in all honesty- Thing... looking at that, looking at that bike and the price point, that's a pretty darn good deal for that bike.
• 22:15
I don't think I can do it again. We had some- Yeah... wheels that were- Yeah... that I got really good deals on. I mean, it- Yeah...
• 22:20
I have to keep my eyes peeled to make the good deal, but- That's, that's gonna be a killer ride for someone Good Lord, how, how rhyme scheme-y can you get there? [laughs] Wheels, deals. Wheels, deals.
• 22:30
Everybody's stealing the wheel deal, man. Steal my wheel deals. Well, you know, I've only been doing- For real... the fat bike thing for 10 years now, so it's- Yeah...
• 22:38
it's not hard to find stuff that's good and, and hopefully... You know, not everybody- Yeah... needs the latest and greatest carbon wheeled- But, you know, yeah... wunderbling.
• 22:46
But still, you know, a, a really quality set of wheels- Yeah... that, you know, on a custom ride would... They, th- those had mulefoots, right? That one has, uh, 907. Oh, there you go. Check. I, I had the mulefoot. Yeah.
• 23:02
Yeah, there's mulefoots on the other one. On the other one, yeah, the wire. The larger one's a mulefeet. Just got a mulefoot, uh, yeah. Mulefeet. [laughs] Mulefeet.
• 23:09
Oh, and before the El Rongo, I was down at, uh, Pumpkin Pavilion. Uh, Bill- Nice. Yeah, cool... Bleed playing. Yeah. All in mummy gear. Oh, nice. It was- That's really cool... insane. Oh, it was insane.
• 23:24
There with my mom, 83 years old, and she's just like, "This is great." [laughs] Was, did she rock out with her cock out? It was insane. It was so damn- That's fantastic... funny.
• 23:35
She's like, "I had, I had breakfast with nuns this morning, and now I'm doing this." [laughs] Rock on- I was like-... Mom... thank you. Mike's mom. [laughs] Rock on, Mike's mom. That's pretty awesome.
• 23:50
Yeah, like between Scott, uh, Mundy, and Evan are like, "Okay, now I can..." Yeah, right on. There you go. [laughs] Let that go. Now there, there's explanations, man. Cool stuff.
• 24:02
[laughs] That was- How old's your mom, 84? Yeah. Nice. Nice. Uh, what else is going on? That's cool for us. Hey, our, uh- Yeah, right [laughs]... our... I don't know if you saw this- The stock is strong [laughs]...
• 24:15
'cause today was, uh, today was, uh, embargo re- lift, uplift- Oh... uh, embargo day- Yeah... for 45 North stuff They got a couple new tires.
• 24:27
Ooh One is called the Wrathlord Is that the studded- 300 studs on a 4.2 inch, 26 inch fat bike tire. Jesus Christ. A lot of studs. That's a lot of studs. That's more studs- What does that thing weigh?
• 24:40
I don't have the grams is right here. You could probably- That just sounds like a-... find. Well, I think the Dillinger 5 has 256 maybe or somewhere in there. Yeah, why is this- But that's also a bigger tire. Yeah.
• 24:51
So, so that- What'd you say this one has?... that's studding every- 300. Oh. That, that's studding everything you can possibly stud on it. I think you can ride upside down on Velcro on the ceiling with it. Yeah.
• 25:01
Well, no, no, I'm just saying that like- Well, you can... I'll watch... every possible place. Um, possible. Well, I mean- Bet you it banks like a beast.
• 25:09
Yeah, I'm curious 'cause it's a narrower tire, a little more racey and a little more- I bet you just... Yeah, I bet you it just grabs everywhere on an icy surface. Mm-hmm.
• 25:18
On those, you know, in Wisconsin, six days a year you need them, but, you know. Well, uh, if you ride at the lakefront, you need them a lot more- Well, yeah, yeah... 'cause it's always icy down there.
• 25:25
Or that bike across Bago. Or the... Oh. They'd be killer for that. Maybe 300 studs is the key to that one. Yeah, that is that one. We should all do that- Or, or the, uh, Riverwest, uh-...
• 25:34
and report back on that this year... somewhere in Feb- somewhere in February... the ice rink. Although, I rode his Chumba on the ice rink last year with the Dillinger studs, and they were fantastic.
• 25:41
Yeah, it was like, kinda like riding on gravel. Yeah, it was really fun. It was fun. You c- you could break it loose if you really goosed it, but- Yeah, but otherwise, it, it held well. Yeah. So 300.
• 25:50
Yeah, that's bike across Bago time. I'd have to give that a go. Uh, they also revamped the Van Helga. I don't... It just changed to the tread a little bit, re...
• 25:58
It's their kinda all around snow, packed snow trail, winter tire. Is that studdable? Uh, no. No. That one is not. It's a straight... Yeah, okay. But it does come in a tan wall now, so you can be all stylin'. Nice.
• 26:13
[laughs] Yeah. That would be so cool in the winter. I'm betting they did it for an OE bike that they're gonna do 'cause it's a 60 TPI, but whatever. Ah. It's still cool.
• 26:20
Yeah, that'd be, you know, if you're gonna ride it in the winter- I'm not sure, skin wall, tan wall, red wall. I dunno I think it'd be funny. I like it. Sounds good.
• 26:27
And they got a couple new boots too, which I didn't take the time to write the information down about, but re-imagining their winter boots.
• 26:35
And they're also doing more clothing, which they haven't actually released yet, so 45NRTH- 45NRTH people... your winter company, folks.
• 26:44
You can probably get it here at Everyday Cycles or other fine shops- We have a couple pairs of their gloves right now... including, uh, Zion Cyclery down there in Zion, Illinois. Yeah.
• 26:51
They always have clever names- Yes... that you have to think about. I think- 'Cause I remember the Japanther. [laughs] Now I'll never go ba- Uh, like...
• 27:01
And then I found out that it was a, there's a name of a band called Japanther. Oh, Japanther. Yeah. Yeah. And they actually have some good stuff. They, uh, yeah. And I, I think it's like completely disparate.
• 27:12
Sorry, so- something just darted into my head, but what's going on with your damn fat bike? Hey, let's not talk about that. [laughs] Sorry. Um- It's out, it's, it's out of powder and into paint now. It's at the- Yes...
• 27:25
it's at the... The guy who's painting it is a, one of the guys that paints Chip Foose's hot rods, so if- It's-...
• 27:30
you folks are into hot rods, uh, he's, he's the man, but he's also- When it, when it returns- It'll come-... it will be cosmic. Oh, there's your bike you're borrowing for Illinois right there. Look at that. Oh.
• 27:40
Belt drive, Rohloff, baby. Oh, wow. You have- See? What if... If your bike never showed up again- Yeah, let him take forever on that damn bike, man. [laughs] Yeah.
• 27:48
If you get to ride that instead- All right, scrap that, scrap that cosmic navy blue. [laughs] Yeah. I'd like to change the color once a week, and then never get it back 'cause that is gorgeous.
• 27:59
[laughs] Riding that on the, on the beach in Illinois, Illinois is gonna be fantastic. That's November 2nd and 3rd, folks. Yes, yes, you should all be there. Also, um- The ballroom looks great...
• 28:09
I wanted to remind everybody that now that we're coming into the colder season where people decide that there actually are events for fat bikes even though most people ride their fat bikes all year round, uh, fatbike.com/event-calendar is a place where you can find all sorts of events for your fat bike event needs.
• 28:31
There you go. Indeedy, indeedy. There's something in Australia right now, the Simpson Desert Challenge, but that's going on, like, now, I think, or maybe already happened. And then at the end of the month, Funduro.
• 28:43
And then I didn't even go into November yet, but we'll start to pick up some events along the way, and- Funduro's a good one. Next week... if you have an event that you want to add it right there. Next week!
• 28:50
Just go to the thing. Yeah. Enter it. Gomez will say, "Oh, that's a cool event. I think I'll put it on the, uh, calendar and, uh, approve it, and give you a call, and talk about it, and make a story.
• 29:00
[laughs]" That was pretty good. Is that your Gomez? That was pretty good. I dunno. Was it? [laughs] That was pretty good. I, I don't do many impressions- I don't, I don't know [laughs]... so I'm not sure.
• 29:07
I was letting you roll. No, I would have possibly [laughs] I don't know. Prepared better [laughs]. Something with, with psychedelics and stuff. I don't... But anyway, Gomez- Gnomes...

• 30:46
[laughs] And, you know, but, you know, uh, I- as I was reading it, it became very, like, dietary restriction way and what have you, and that's just a hassle. And I mean, I get ya, you know, and you have to do that, but
• 31:04
it just made me think about, like, you know, "Hey, what is my normal, you know, my diet?" It's like- Your normal cyclo-cross diet? Well, well- De chu- what was the Deschutes hand up beer at, at, uh, Urban Jungle Cross?
• 31:16

• 31:23
It was just like, "What the hell is going on here?" [laughs] Yeah, Sprecher was the beer. And I'm like, "Da, da, da, da, da, da, da." That's, that's my cyclo-cross diet. Yeah, exactly. Beer?
• 31:32
That's why I'm not, you know, racing. Cyclo-crossing. In fact, I think my, uh, my- That was beer hand up day... my, my Growler has Katie Compton, um, Carbon Thompson handlebars on it. Ah.
• 31:44
She has her signature, signature bars. I, I totally thought about the Growler I just went and filled, and I'm thinking, "Wait, where are these?" Where is this Growler? It's not, not your Growler bicycle I...
• 31:52

• 32:14
They can fit a nice cyclo-cross tire. Ugh. We managed to do it again. [burps] Excuse me. Well, it's, uh- No. Any, any idea if that, uh, Rumble Cross is gonna be a thingy?
• 32:24
And- That is something that we would have to have Mr. Zito call in and tell us about- Right... 'cause I don't know. It's coming up, like, next- It's supposed to be a, supposed to be a week from, uh, tomorrow...
