- 0:25Speaker 5: We're going to.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I almost started saying Friday. I thought it was Friday
- 0:30Speaker 1: for me.
- 0:31Speaker 3: How nice would that be?
- 0:32Speaker 1: I know. I'm getting Friday vibes because I feel like
- 0:33Speaker 1: tomorrow is going to be, it's going to feel like Saturday.
- 0:36Speaker 5: Yeah, totally.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Just because Halloween Eve is tomorrow. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid,
- 0:42Speaker 1: Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo is here. Good morning, Candace.
- 0:45Speaker 1: How are you?
- 0:45Speaker 5: Good morning. I'm good.
- 0:46Speaker 6: Speaking of Halloween, I'm getting so many DMs of people saying,
- 0:49Speaker 6: don't let anyone convince you it's not okay to wear
- 0:52Speaker 6: your pumpkin costume if you want it this year.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Because some people just met me. Some people just follow
- 0:56Speaker 3: me online.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Oh, here we go.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Just listened to the show within the last year. You know,
- 0:59Speaker 3: new listeners. Wear your pumpkin costume if that's what.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You want to wear.
- 1:02Speaker 6: But now you kind of convinced me that we should
- 1:06Speaker 6: do this other theme that I have in mind.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Don't say it. I'm not going to say it at all.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Don't say it. Because who can't know?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but now I'm really hype about that, so I'm online.
- 1:15Speaker 5: Looking for a costume.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Pooh has no idea.
- 1:17Speaker 3: But I can't say what it is.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Don't say what it is, but it would be a
- 1:19Speaker 1: surprise for Pooh tomorrow.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Right, exactly. We surprised you last year, and we all
- 1:23Speaker 3: came dressed as you.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, no, we're not going to come dressed as you, though, Pooh. No.
- 1:27Speaker 3: No, we're not going to dress as you.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Don't worry.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But it's something that has to do with you.
- 1:31Speaker 6: I'm basically dressed like you right now because we're just
- 1:33Speaker 6: wearing hoodies and sneakers.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It would be so fun, though, if we could.
- 1:36Speaker 5: I know.
- 1:36Speaker 1: We'll see.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see.
- 1:38Speaker 6: But anyways, I got super excited about that.
- 1:39Speaker 3: But shout out to everyone who says, just wear your
- 1:41Speaker 3: pumpkin if you like it.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Wear your pumpkin costume we've seen for 20 years in
- 1:45Speaker 1: a row.
- 1:45Speaker 2: A pumpkin influencer.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Yeah, every year.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I'll be pumpkin spice this year if I do it.
- 1:50Speaker 1: 2004 I met you.
- 1:51Speaker 3: No, I didn't have that costume then.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yes, you did.
- 1:54Speaker 3: No, that was a different pumpkin.
- 1:56Speaker 1: It was not a different pumpkin.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Well, then it was different cat ears because sometimes I
- 2:01Speaker 6: just throw on the cat ears and do like, you know,
- 2:03Speaker 6: a face.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Cat ears and a pumpkin makes no sense.
- 2:05Speaker 6: No, I didn't wear the cat ears and the pumpkin
- 2:07Speaker 6: together before my cat was my go-to.
- 2:11Speaker 3: My lazy go-to was a cat.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Because it's so easy.
- 2:14Speaker 6: You've seen me in the cat a few times, but
- 2:16Speaker 6: the pumpkin's only been like two.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Times, two or three. Okay, well, listen, do whatever you want.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Whatever you want, Candy Lopez.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Let me see what I can get on Amazon tonight.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Jeez, I know I went to Spirit yesterday. You want
- 2:28Speaker 1: to talk about slim pickings. Oh, dang it. If you're
- 2:31Speaker 1: like me and you wait last minute for everything, go
- 2:33Speaker 1: to Spirit and you're going to end up being, I mean,
- 2:35Speaker 1: who knows?
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I was.
- 2:37Speaker 6: There right when it opened because I was like, I
- 2:39Speaker 6: got to get into his Halloween costume because his trunk
- 2:40Speaker 6: or treat is so early. But I didn't look for
- 2:42Speaker 6: anything for myself.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Now I wish I had.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Well, I almost bought a costume yesterday at Spirit that
- 2:47Speaker 1: we could put on the Wheel of Misfortune. Oh, God.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I know. And I still think we should. I think
- 2:52Speaker 1: I might go back and get it. It's an inflatable wiener.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Oh, Billy!
- 2:54Speaker 2: Oh, God!
- 2:57Speaker 5: No.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Come on.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I'm not wearing that.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Why?
- 3:01Speaker 2: HR.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I just, I won't lose. That's the thing. When it
- 3:05Speaker 3: comes to the wheel, I'll just have to win.
- 3:06Speaker 1: It's just a biological body part.
- 3:09Speaker 6: Yeah, that no one wants to see walking down the street.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I do.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Driving down the tollway.
- 3:14Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. It's inflatable. It's huge. Oh, God.
- 3:17Speaker 1: We need it. We need it. I'm going to go
- 3:20Speaker 1: get it today. Oh, my gosh. Thank you.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Running down the street.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Real misfortune to Elvis and it's stoplight karaoke in
- 3:27Speaker 1: Pooh's in an inflatable. He's a singing wiener.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Tomorrow could be fun, guys.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Tomorrow might get interesting anyway. Well, yeah. Dress as your pumpkin.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Producer Pooh, I have no idea what you're going to
- 3:37Speaker 1: come as tomorrow because we're dressing up.
- 3:39Speaker 4: I know.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. You haven't figured it out?
- 3:41Speaker 2: No, I got an idea of what I want to do.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 3:44Speaker 2: It was somebody. Somebody gave me the idea and then y'all.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Seconded.
- 3:49Speaker 2: That's all I'll say.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I don't remember.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Oh, I remember.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Never mind.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I'm not going to say it.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, don't say it. It's a surprise. Tomorrow. What
- 3:57Speaker 1: else is going on, Pooh?
- 3:58Speaker 2: I got into it with Amazon yesterday.
- 4:00Speaker 5: What?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so me and the kids. You got into it
- 4:03Speaker 1: with Amazon?
- 4:04Speaker 2: With the Amazon driver.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I'll say that.
- 4:06Speaker 2: With the Amazon driver. Yeah, because me and the kids
- 4:09Speaker 2: ordered my sister something for her birthday, and I'd been
- 4:12Speaker 2: waiting on it. And it came, the wrong thing came
- 4:15Speaker 2: last week.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Wasn't her birthday like two weeks ago? Yeah. Exactly.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. It came on the 16th, and then
- 4:21Speaker 2: I had to return it because it was the wrong thing.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And it's a ring doorbell, okay? I'll just say that.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Why don't you just go to the store and get it?
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so, no, because I wanted to buy that. Anyway,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I bought it, and the little chime box comes in
- 4:33Speaker 2: before the ring. And I'm like, what is going on
- 4:36Speaker 2: with Amazon? So I go downstairs because we have a
- 4:39Speaker 2: little locker set up or whatever. Amazon driver's there. And
- 4:42Speaker 2: I was like, hey, I'm expecting this package. Do you
- 4:45Speaker 2: have it? And she was like, no, I don't have that.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And I said, well, that's weird.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I got an alert.
- 4:50Speaker 2: It said you're pulling up in five minutes. So I
- 4:53Speaker 2: walked down.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So you met her there? Yeah. That's not creepy.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 2: And I showed her the tracking number. She's like, no,
- 4:59Speaker 2: that's not you. And I was like, what do you mean?
- 5:01Speaker 2: It's not me. Can you just scan it, the little
- 5:03Speaker 2: QR code, just see? She goes, well, I just need
- 5:06Speaker 2: to finish up. And I said, ma'am, I know it
- 5:09Speaker 2: came in.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I got an alert.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Why would it alert me? And she goes, No, she said,
- 5:13Speaker 2: sometimes our drivers are like, we have sub drivers that
- 5:17Speaker 2: don't come in the trucks. They come in their cars.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:19Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, but no. Why would it
- 5:21Speaker 2: alert me to your truck?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Why are you telling her how to do her job?
- 5:25Speaker 2: You know why?
- 5:25Speaker 3: Were you mansplaining?
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah, because I got.
- 5:28Speaker 2: An alert and it said coming out of McKinney. When
- 5:31Speaker 2: you come out of McKinney, that's their hub. See, I
- 5:34Speaker 2: know all these things.
- 5:35Speaker 1: How do you know these things?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, because I've ordered some stuff before and I had
- 5:38Speaker 2: to go to the hub to go get it.
- 5:39Speaker 1: You're not even a Prime member.
- 5:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You got to talk about all this stuff like he's
- 5:45Speaker 1: Jeff Bezos.
- 5:46Speaker 2: So anyway, she got real extra petty. She goes, I'm sorry,
- 5:49Speaker 2: that's not you. So I walk right back upstairs to
- 5:52Speaker 2: my apartment. How about I get an alert? Your package
- 5:56Speaker 2: has been delivered, and it sends.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Me a picture.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Ah!
- 6:00Speaker 1: You know what?
- 6:01Speaker 5: Good.
- 6:01Speaker 2: She waited until I got back upstairs, stuck it in
- 6:04Speaker 2: the locker.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I love that.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Yes!
- 6:06Speaker 1: It didn't burn off.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I was so mad.
- 6:07Speaker 1: She's like, this guy want to tell me how to
- 6:09Speaker 1: do my job? I'm going to wait until I see
- 6:11Speaker 1: him walk up those three flights of stairs. As soon
- 6:14Speaker 1: as he gets up there, delivered.
- 6:16Speaker 2: So, Angela from Amazon, you got me. I'll be waiting
- 6:19Speaker 2: on you.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Next time, though. Is this the one you have a
- 6:22Speaker 1: crush on?
- 6:23Speaker 2: No, no.
- 6:24Speaker 1: No, this girl, I don't.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Why do you say it like that? I mean, she...
- 6:30Speaker 1: I mean, she's interesting.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'll just say that. I don't want to call nobody
- 6:34Speaker 2: ugly or anything like that, but, yeah, she's interesting.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Well, you just did.
- 6:39Speaker 7: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 6:43Speaker 7: Kid in the Morning.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 6:46Speaker 1: By the way, Harry Styles tickets coming up next. We've
- 6:49Speaker 1: hidden them on the app, on the iHeartRadio app. So, yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 1: if you want to win, you better download it. Find us,
- 6:53Speaker 1: Mix 102.9. Get ready for that keyword next. Candace Lopez,
- 6:57Speaker 1: what is going on?
- 6:57Speaker 6: Well, new data just revealed the most dangerous roads and
- 7:01Speaker 6: intersections in Dallas. So there were 200 crashes in these
- 7:05Speaker 6: three spots last year.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 7:08Speaker 3: This is kind of a list, right?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Number three on the list was LBJ and Skillman.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 7:16Speaker 3: 61 crashes.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Of course.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a bad intersection.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Awful.
- 7:20Speaker 6: Number two on the list was 35E and Woodall Rogers.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yep, yep.
- 7:25Speaker 3: 69 crashes there.
- 7:26Speaker 1: That's awful. And then number one?
- 7:28Speaker 3: Number one, 35E and Highway 183.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 3: 70 crashes there.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Because you're trying to get over. Yes. People don't know
- 7:37Speaker 1: how to merge. 183 is chaos. It is.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I don't know which lanes are going where. And then
- 7:42Speaker 3: you got lanes going up now, I think, and express lanes.
- 7:46Speaker 3: I can't keep up with 183. I avoid it.
- 7:48Speaker 1: If you're on the old 183 by the airport, it's
- 7:51Speaker 1: pretty much like a Baghdad road. Like you're in Iraq
- 7:54Speaker 1: because there's huge potholes. You don't know what's going on.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And people, there's no speed limit. I know there's not
- 8:00Speaker 1: a lot of speed limits on any of these roads,
- 8:02Speaker 1: especially the tollway, but 183 is like, wow.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's changed a lot.
- 8:06Speaker 6: I avoid it at all costs. I also avoid 635
- 8:09Speaker 6: at all costs. They do say those Saturdays are the
- 8:11Speaker 6: worst day to drive in Dallas and 5 p.m.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Is the worst time. Obviously, most of these crashes because
- 8:17Speaker 3: of speeding.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Top cause. You know what's another bad one?
- 8:20Speaker 5: What?
- 8:20Speaker 1: Lower Greenville. Greenville Avenue and Mockingbird. Greenville Avenue and Mockingbird.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Where you can only turn left. Oh, yes. Oh, it's awful. Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 1: You know, it's like one of those weird things. People
- 8:31Speaker 1: always run it. It's just bad. Every intersection sucks.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody chill out.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Relax.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Yeah, let people merge. It's not that big of a deal.
- 8:37Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. I'm not letting people merge, but
- 8:39Speaker 1: go ahead. Okay.
- 8:41Speaker 6: Guys, Apple just unveiled its first touchscreen laptop. So this
- 8:45Speaker 6: is a version of the MacBook Pro. It comes in
- 8:47Speaker 6: 14 and 16-inch models. It weighs only three to four pounds.
- 8:50Speaker 6: I got super excited about this, and I kept scrolling
- 8:53Speaker 6: for the price, and then I just closed the tab.
- 8:55Speaker 6: How much?
- 8:56Speaker 3: Prices start at around $ 2, 900. Nope. They go up to $ 3, 200.
- 8:59Speaker 5: What?
- 8:59Speaker 1: Nope. I'll do it on my phone.
- 9:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I don't need to touch that screen that bad.
- 9:04Speaker 1: No, I can touch my phone screen. Yeah. Yeah, we
- 9:06Speaker 1: need that. I feel like laptops are like, unless you
- 9:08Speaker 1: have a job where you really need a laptop for work.
- 9:10Speaker 5: Right.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Do you really need a laptop anymore?
- 9:12Speaker 3: I mean, I use it for work.
- 9:15Speaker 1: That's it.
- 9:15Speaker 3: But I don't need to touch the screen. What do
- 9:16Speaker 3: I need to touch the screen for?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Pre-orders, by the way, are open now.
- 9:21Speaker 6: It's going to hit stores next Friday if you do
- 9:24Speaker 6: need a laptop where you can touch the screen.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:26Speaker 6: And then this new study says over half of Gen
- 9:29Speaker 6: Z and younger teens in America reported gambling over the
- 9:32Speaker 6: past year.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Oh.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Oh, really? Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Okay. Well, you know what?
- 9:36Speaker 3: These are your people.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I can relate.
- 9:38Speaker 1: That might have something to do with Candace Court today.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Really?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Youth gambling.
- 9:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And a Pooh story. Yeah. Oh, boy. Pooh's big, man.
- 9:46Speaker 1: We're going to Candace Court. Pooh's taking somebody to Candace
- 9:49Speaker 1: Court today, and it's not me, finally.
- 9:50Speaker 5: Okay.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Okay. I'm big, man.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He's mad about something, so we have to have our
- 9:53Speaker 1: very own poo on Candace Court at about seven. I
- 9:55Speaker 1: don't know. Seven 50 today.
- 9:57Speaker 8: Okay.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Well, watch your phone. Watch your gambling apps.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Kids are gambling.
- 10:01Speaker 3: They are.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 6: People age 13 to 27, 53% of them have placed bets.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Most of these are teenagers.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Wow.
- 10:09Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, this has to be because of smartphones and,
- 10:11Speaker 6: you know, video games, these sports betting apps and casino
- 10:14Speaker 6: games on your phone.
- 10:15Speaker 1: It's got to be that. My son's doing fantasy football.
- 10:17Speaker 1: He's 15 and he's arguing with his friends about it.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And I'm like, wait a minute, you are?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Do they have money on them?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Yeah. No, no money, but they have like, you know,
- 10:25Speaker 1: side bets, I guess. I don't know if it's real money,
- 10:27Speaker 1: but like if they lose and they have to do
- 10:29Speaker 1: something stupid, like we have a fortune. Okay. And punishments
- 10:33Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But my son will play left, right, center.
- 10:36Speaker 1: You ever play that game?
- 10:37Speaker 3: No, but I always see y'all playing that and it
- 10:38Speaker 3: looks fun.
- 10:39Speaker 1: We started playing it with candy and then it escalated
- 10:41Speaker 1: quickly to single dollar bills. I'm like, we got to
- 10:43Speaker 1: stop this because I feel like I'm running a baby windstorm.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I live in.
- 10:47Speaker 3: All right, I'm Candace Lopez.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Mix 102.9. But we should play.
- 10:52Speaker 1: You want to play?
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I do.
- 10:54Speaker 1: See, that's the thing. I know. It's in me. Mix 102.9.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Good morning. It's Bailey the Kid. Candace Lopez is here.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Producer Poo is here. It is Thursday. I don't know
- 11:05Speaker 1: why I keep thinking it's Friday.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I'm getting Friday vibes today.
- 11:09Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I don't know about your kid, but mine's
- 11:10Speaker 6: out of school tomorrow, so it does feel like Friday.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Okay, I got you. Well, it's Friday for some people.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Let's do it right now. We got to. four-pack of
- 11:17Speaker 1: passes to Universal Kids Resort before we do real or
- 11:20Speaker 1: fake news. Who's this?
- 11:21Speaker 5: Gina.
- 11:22Speaker 1: What's your name?
- 11:24Speaker 2: My name is Gina.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Gina? Oh, are you falling down the stairs right now?
- 11:28Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 11:29Speaker 5: I am actually driving to work.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Oh, there you go. Now I can hear you better, Gina. Well, congratulations.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You are caller number one.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Yay!
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yay!
- 11:37Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You're so welcome. There you go. Where are you from?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Bowie.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Oh, Bowie.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Now, what are you going to be for Halloween?
- 11:48Speaker 8: I don't know yet.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Sounds familiar. Sounds like me. We're trying to figure it
- 11:52Speaker 1: out right now. Well, thank you so much for listening.
- 11:54Speaker 1: We got you a four-pack of passes to Universal Kids Resort.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Yay!
- 11:58Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 11:59Speaker 8: I appreciate it.
- 11:59Speaker 1: You're so welcome. Have a good, I almost said weekend,
- 12:02Speaker 1: but tomorrow's Friday. Either way, have a good day, and
- 12:04Speaker 1: thank you for having us on this morning.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Uh-huh. Thank you.
- 12:07Speaker 1: By the way, you can still go on Amazon and
- 12:09Speaker 1: get some costumes by this weekend.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Which kind of surprised me. I was just looking, and
- 12:14Speaker 1: it was like, oh, delivery today. Like, what a world
- 12:17Speaker 1: we live in.
- 12:17Speaker 5: Right?
- 12:18Speaker 1: Where you can get the most random stuff and you
- 12:19Speaker 1: can still get it within 24 hours.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Yep.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But then, you know, it shows up, you're risking it because... Right.
- 12:26Speaker 1: What if it sucks?
- 12:27Speaker 3: You gotta order two sizes just in case.
- 12:29Speaker 1: What if it's too small?
- 12:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 1: And Spear yesterday was getting empty, too, so... Ooh. Yeah,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I know. Good to know. All right, real or fake news,
- 12:36Speaker 1: are you ready? I'm gonna give you three headlines. You
- 12:38Speaker 1: gotta tell me which one is the fake story out
- 12:40Speaker 1: of the three. It's difficult because the news is wild,
- 12:43Speaker 1: so sometimes it's hard to... to decipher what's real and
- 12:45Speaker 1: what's not. Headline number one, Ohio pastor reveals he's had
- 12:50Speaker 1: two wives for the last three years. Ohio pastor reveals
- 12:55Speaker 1: he's had two wives for the last three years. Wow,
- 13:00Speaker 1: that's a lot. Headline number two, Florida mom arrested at
- 13:04Speaker 1: airport and charged with leaving her four kids at home
- 13:07Speaker 1: alone while she goes to Vegas.
- 13:09Speaker 6: God.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Florida mom arrested at airport and charged with leaving her
- 13:14Speaker 1: four kids home alone while she goes to Vegas. Headline
- 13:19Speaker 1: number three. Teacher suspended after giving students extra credit for
- 13:23Speaker 1: bringing her Starbucks. Teacher suspended after giving students extra credit.
- 13:30Speaker 1: For giving her Starbucks. Oh, man. Can you do that?
- 13:33Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Sure.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Back in the day, boy, I would have been straight A's.
- 13:36Speaker 2: They didn't have Starbucks when you were in school.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Wow.
- 13:39Speaker 2: That's true.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Where would you have to go? You know?
- 13:42Speaker 3: What a life these kids lead.
- 13:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 3: You're going to Starbucks?
- 13:44Speaker 1: The fact that some of these kids even go to
- 13:46Speaker 1: Starbucks before school always cracks me up.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Same.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Because I was, I mean, we barely had anything to
- 13:51Speaker 1: take to school.
- 13:52Speaker 8: No.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Like, I don't even remember bottled water when I was
- 13:55Speaker 1: a kid.
- 13:55Speaker 3: No, that wasn't a thing.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Isn't that weird?
- 13:57Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe a Gatorade.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 14:00Speaker 2: From the donut shop.
- 14:01Speaker 1: That's it. From the donut shop?
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Why Gatorade from the donut shop? That's what I'm saying.
- 14:05Speaker 2: That's all we had to take to school.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Milk carton.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you pass by the donut shop. Right there, down
- 14:10Speaker 2: the street from the school.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Milk carton with a missing kid on it.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Candace. Well, all right. Now, let's see. Which
- 14:18Speaker 1: one do you think is the fake story out of
- 14:20Speaker 1: the three? Candace, you can go first or you could
- 14:22Speaker 1: pass it to Pooh.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I think I want to go first today. Lock me
- 14:26Speaker 3: in for that Home Alone, Lost in Vegas story.
- 14:28Speaker 1: OK.
- 14:29Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 1: That's apparently the one Pooh wanted to pick. All right.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Let's lock that in.
- 14:35Speaker 1: That is locked in. Producer Pooh, which one do you think?
- 14:38Speaker 1: is the fake story.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Lock me in for that first story of the pastor
- 14:42Speaker 2: having two wives for the past three years.
- 14:45Speaker 1: You don't think that's real? No. A pastor would never
- 14:47Speaker 1: do that.
- 14:48Speaker 2: No, I hope not.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Not at the church I go to.
- 14:51Speaker 2: In the name of... Yeah, lock me in.
- 14:54Speaker 1: We went to church for a minute.
- 14:55Speaker 2: All right, let's lock it in.
- 14:57Speaker 1: It is locked in, and the winner today is.
- 15:01Speaker 6: Me.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Finally. It's taking me a minute. The fake story you
- 15:09Speaker 1: both missed. It was the teacher suspended after giving students
- 15:13Speaker 1: extra credit for bringing her Starbucks.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I should have known that was fake.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's not a real story.
- 15:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I mean, I don't even know if you can do that.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Can you give kids extra credit? I just made it
- 15:21Speaker 1: up because I thought it would be funny. Yeah. But
- 15:22Speaker 1: can you give a kid extra credit if they bring
- 15:24Speaker 1: you something? That sounds not very.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I mean, technically, yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Why?
- 15:27Speaker 3: I mean, you could.
- 15:28Speaker 2: You're a teacher. You can do whatever you want.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that was the assignment. He completed it.
- 15:32Speaker 1: I don't know about that.
- 15:32Speaker 3: She completed it.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Oh, you make it an assignment.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:35Speaker 1: I got you. Okay, which story do you want first?
- 15:37Speaker 1: Do you want the pastor story or do you want
- 15:38Speaker 1: the Vegas story?
- 15:39Speaker 3: Who do you pick?
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'm going to say the Vegas story first. All right,
- 15:42Speaker 1: Vegas story. Florida mom arrested at the airport and charged
- 15:45Speaker 1: with leaving four kids home alone while she went to Vegas.
- 15:49Speaker 1: She was arrested at the Orlando International Airport after deputies
- 15:52Speaker 1: say she left her four kids at home without overnight
- 15:55Speaker 1: adult care while visiting Las Vegas. Irene Miller. Children ages
- 16:00Speaker 1: 4 to 14 were found alone after a falling dumbbell
- 16:05Speaker 1: injured her youngest child.
- 16:06Speaker 5: What?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Who was treated at the hospital and then released. She
- 16:10Speaker 1: told deputies a babysitter was checking in on them before
- 16:14Speaker 1: and after school but couldn't stay overnight. Their father took
- 16:17Speaker 1: them into his care and detectives arrested her when her
- 16:21Speaker 1: flight returned.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Wow.
- 16:22Speaker 1: So nobody would have probably known that anything was wrong
- 16:25Speaker 1: if the kid wouldn't have gotten hurt and had to
- 16:27Speaker 1: go to the hospital.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Right.
- 16:28Speaker 1: They'd have been like, oh, whatever. Now, some people online
- 16:31Speaker 1: actually defending her, saying that a 14-year-old is absolutely capable
- 16:35Speaker 1: of taking care of.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Their siblings at 14 for 24 hours.
- 16:42Speaker 5: No.
- 16:42Speaker 1: She was only gone in Vegas, come on, for 24 hours, Candace.
- 16:45Speaker 7: That's it?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and why not just take the kids to the casino?
- 16:48Speaker 3: Leave them in the hotel room.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Because there's too many flights.
- 16:51Speaker 1: At what age? I mean, I would never leave my 14-year-old.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I have a 15-year-old. I would not leave him alone
- 16:56Speaker 1: all weekend while I went to Vegas.
- 16:58Speaker 4: No.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I don't know, though. I think I'd be honest.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Choctaw maybe, but Vegas?
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Windstar, Choctaw maybe. But Vegas, no, because I get
- 17:04Speaker 1: a little too wild in Vegas. What's going to happen?
- 17:07Speaker 1: But I actually trust my son at 15. I really
- 17:10Speaker 1: genuinely feel like I could leave him alone. Yeah. And
- 17:13Speaker 1: he'd be fine. Would I? No.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:14Speaker 1: But I do. At 14, could I be left alone? Yeah.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Would my mom have done that? No. No. At what
- 17:20Speaker 1: age can you leave overnight?
- 17:21Speaker 5: Right.
- 17:21Speaker 6: Maybe taking care of himself. But then the other kids, that's.
- 17:25Speaker 1: A little more responsibility. That's the problem is you have
- 17:27Speaker 1: other kids. This kid cannot be responsible for all these
- 17:29Speaker 1: other kids. Little babies, you know, and then one gets hurt.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Either way, she was she's in jail. Well, she's out now.
- 17:35Speaker 1: But all right. Let's go to the next story. Yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 1: I know. I can't believe a lot of people online
- 17:40Speaker 1: sticking up for her.
- 17:40Speaker 3: All right.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Ohio pastor reveals he's had two wives for three years.
- 17:47Speaker 6: Oh, boy.
- 17:48Speaker 1: An Ohio pastor told his church he's been living with
- 17:50Speaker 1: two wives for three years and believes God supports the arrangement.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Israel Ford, who started LifeWorks Church in Cleveland. with his
- 17:58Speaker 1: wife Lydia in 2009, introduced Shaquille O'Ford as his second wife.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:04Speaker 1: And during a service.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Oh, are you serious?
- 18:08Speaker 1: Talk about a bomb.
- 18:09Speaker 3: It's a miracle.
- 18:10Speaker 1: It is a miracle. Oh, my God, I have a
- 18:12Speaker 1: second wife. Oh, the Lord has blessed me.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Wow.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Is it a blessing? I don't know. Either way, he
- 18:20Speaker 1: also shared the announcement on Facebook, saying he believes the
- 18:22Speaker 1: teaching that a man should only have one wife is unbiblical.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Lydia supported the announcement, so his first wife was like, listen,
- 18:31Speaker 1: I support Shaquille and I welcome her as my co-wife.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, come on in.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Co-wife?
- 18:36Speaker 2: Come on in here, sister.
- 18:37Speaker 1: We're co-wives. Okay. Shaquille also serves as a minister at
- 18:41Speaker 1: the church. Okay, so we're just, listen, if we're going
- 18:43Speaker 1: to do this, let's make it a family thing and
- 18:45Speaker 1: a family business.
- 18:47Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Members applauded.
- 18:50Speaker 5: What?
- 18:51Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 18:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I mean, you do what you want to do, but
- 18:54Speaker 1: if I'm at church and I'm just trying to get
- 18:55Speaker 1: my God on. I don't know if I want you
- 18:57Speaker 1: to make this announcement.
- 18:58Speaker 3: No, I definitely don't.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Why you got to do it here?
- 19:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Do it on Facebook. Of course. All right. Well, Shakayla
- 19:08Speaker 1: said the three see themselves as a strong family. And
- 19:11Speaker 1: some church members already knew about the relationship anyway. Yeah. So, yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 1: So she's like, do what you want. But this is
- 19:19Speaker 1: our life. And I'm sorry, accept us or don't accept us. But.
- 19:23Speaker 1: This is the way we're living over here at LifeWorks Church.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 1: And they said they're not even opposed to bringing in
- 19:28Speaker 1: more wives. What?
- 19:30Speaker 3: All right.
- 19:30Speaker 1: So, Candice, if you're interested.
- 19:32Speaker 2: No, definitely not. No.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Now, the report notes that having multiple legal wives is illegal.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Well, right. That's what I was thinking. You can't have
- 19:42Speaker 1: more than one wife in the United States.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 19:45Speaker 3: I don't know for sure.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I mean, not legally.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:48Speaker 1: If you want to do that, you can do that. Right. country. Whatever. Right.
- 19:51Speaker 3: You can claim your wife.
- 19:52Speaker 1: You can claim your wife.
- 19:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Now, what happens if both of them decide to divorce?
- 19:58Speaker 2: All I know is that's a lot of alimony.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Good morning. It's Billy the Kid. Candace Lopez is here.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Producer Pooh is here. I saw this and it made
- 20:07Speaker 1: me laugh because I mean, we're just built different. When
- 20:11Speaker 1: we were kids, it was wild, especially if you were
- 20:14Speaker 1: in the 80s and 90s. It was just a different
- 20:16Speaker 1: time where we would drink out of the hose. We
- 20:18Speaker 1: were feral. we were really feral kids yeah i mean
- 20:22Speaker 1: and you know you know because you grew up then
- 20:25Speaker 1: yeah um you know 80s 90s thrive poo even in
- 20:27Speaker 1: the 60s and 70s you know i'm saying when you
- 20:30Speaker 1: were growing up it was a little different but it
- 20:32Speaker 1: was still dangerous yeah and i saw this thread it
- 20:36Speaker 1: was talking about kids and their toys now and how
- 20:39Speaker 1: they would have never survived some of our toys And
- 20:42Speaker 1: I started looking back and I thought to myself, we
- 20:45Speaker 1: got to go over some of the world's most dangerous
- 20:47Speaker 1: toys that we played with like it was no big deal.
- 20:50Speaker 1: They wouldn't even get approved now. Regulators would be like, uh-uh. Well, actually,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I think some of them are still around. But, I mean,
- 20:56Speaker 1: you were guaranteed to get hurt if you played with
- 20:58Speaker 1: some of these toys. And you love a good list, Candice.
- 21:01Speaker 5: I do.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So here we go. Let's go over a list of
- 21:03Speaker 1: some of the most dangerous toys that we actually survived. Now,
- 21:07Speaker 1: I remember this one so specifically because... I think I
- 21:10Speaker 1: almost lost a few teeth doing it. Uh-oh. I remember
- 21:13Speaker 1: getting a black eye at one point because of it. Wow.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Do you remember click clacks?
- 21:18Speaker 3: Click clacks? No.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Do you remember? You don't remember.
- 21:22Speaker 3: What is that?
- 21:22Speaker 1: It was two balls. Pause. Okay. Attached with a rope.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 1: What? And you remember, you'd throw them around, and they
- 21:33Speaker 1: would clack, and they would go like clack. They'd bang
- 21:35Speaker 1: against each other, but if you did it in a rhythm,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you could get it going.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Oh.
- 21:38Speaker 1: But if you didn't, you lost an eye.
- 21:40Speaker 5: You did.
- 21:41Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think I had those.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I remember those.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Was it on a stick?
- 21:45Speaker 1: No, it was just on a rope. They did have
- 21:47Speaker 1: some of them on a stick, but those were tame. Okay.
- 21:50Speaker 1: The ones back in the day, they were just wild.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It was crazy. It was just a rope with two
- 21:55Speaker 1: concrete balls. Okay. And you would just hit yourself. I mean,
- 21:59Speaker 1: so many people got injured. It was unreal. Huh. I
- 22:02Speaker 1: don't think they're still around, and thank God.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's wild.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Dentists are probably so mad they're not, though. That's for sure.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Here's another one that I can't believe we used to
- 22:11Speaker 1: play with when we were kids. Okay. Lawn darts. Oh, yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Do you remember lawn darts? I do too. Just imagine
- 22:20Speaker 1: now telling a kid who's eight, hey, here's some metal darts.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Go out and throw them up in the air.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 22:27Speaker 1: And see where they land.
- 22:29Speaker 5: What?
- 22:30Speaker 3: Those were so fun.
- 22:31Speaker 5: No.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Because they would fly and then go straight down.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Into the yard and stick. But not if you had
- 22:36Speaker 1: my friends. If you had my friends, it was stupid
- 22:39Speaker 1: to play with.
- 22:40Speaker 6: Yeah, because you try to land it in the circle
- 22:41Speaker 6: or whatever.
- 22:42Speaker 1: No. Literally, I remember Brian Sant, the kid I grew
- 22:45Speaker 1: up with, Mike Sant's brother, throwing these things up in
- 22:48Speaker 1: the air at us. And we had to avoid it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: It was like raining lawn darts, and we're running around
- 22:54Speaker 1: as kids like, ah!
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I mean, you want to talk about terrifying. Do you
- 22:57Speaker 1: remember any scary toys that were dangerous?
- 22:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:59Speaker 3: I mean, there were so many. Do you remember the
- 23:01Speaker 3: pogo stick?
- 23:02Speaker 1: Oh. Or the pogo ball?
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yes. Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I had a pogo ball.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I had a pogo ball, too.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Matter of fact, I got stitches because of a pogo stick.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Well, that makes sense.
- 23:11Speaker 1: It came out from under me, and I hit my
- 23:13Speaker 1: elbow and split my elbow open.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Ugh.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I ordered a pogo ball during the pandemic because
- 23:18Speaker 6: we were just bored, stuck at home, and we thought
- 23:20Speaker 6: of it, and I ordered it, and it came.
- 23:21Speaker 3: It was so fun.
- 23:22Speaker 1: It was so fun, but those weren't as dangerous as
- 23:24Speaker 1: the sticks.
- 23:25Speaker 3: The sticks were really dangerous.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 3: You could get going pretty high.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Oh, I would get going so high. For no reason.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And then we had some kids that would try to
- 23:32Speaker 1: flip on them. Yeah. And I'm like, what are you doing?
- 23:35Speaker 1: Who do you think you are?
- 23:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Pooh, do you have any scary toys? Yeah, a BB gun.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Y'all didn't have a BB gun?
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 5: No.
- 23:42Speaker 1: I did.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I don't know. I used to set up the targets. Yeah.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Jeez.
- 23:47Speaker 2: God forgive me. I shouted my little sister a couple times. Oh,
- 23:50Speaker 2: my God.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Poor Morgan. Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 2: I did.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Well, I got in trouble because we were shooting at
- 23:55Speaker 1: the neighbor's house.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Right. Of course.
- 23:58Speaker 1: The aluminum siding. And then for whatever reason, I thought
- 24:00Speaker 1: it was a good idea to shoot my dishwasher.
- 24:02Speaker 5: Oh.
- 24:03Speaker 1: My mom got real mad at that.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Of course she did.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Why are there a bunch of dents in our dishwasher?
- 24:08Speaker 5: No.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know. They look like BBs.
- 24:11Speaker 1: And I was like, yeah, I know. Who's in here
- 24:13Speaker 1: shooting a BB gun? Why did they give us BB guns?
- 24:16Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Everyone got shot with one, though. We would shoot each other. Yeah,
- 24:21Speaker 1: we would. I can't believe this.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Wild times.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Cops and robbers actually getting shot.
- 24:26Speaker 1: My uncle still has a BB in his eye. Remember?
- 24:28Speaker 3: That's right.
- 24:29Speaker 1: He does. I have one in my right cheek. No. Yes,
- 24:33Speaker 1: come feel it.
- 24:33Speaker 6: No.
- 24:35Speaker 5: No.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Here's some other ones that are on the list. Rollerblade Barbie.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Do you remember....
- 24:43Speaker 3: Why was that dangerous?
- 24:45Speaker 1: You don't remember?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Barbie on rollerblades?
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but it used to shoot sparks out the back.
- 24:49Speaker 1: It would catch things on fire.
- 24:50Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 24:51Speaker 2: That's right.
- 24:52Speaker 1: So they took it off the shelves and they're like,
- 24:54Speaker 1: we can't have this. But for a while, we just
- 24:56Speaker 1: had pretty much big lighters on rollerblades.
- 24:58Speaker 3: That's right.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Spitting fire at kids. Yeah. A couple more. One of
- 25:03Speaker 1: the things that made the list that I think you
- 25:05Speaker 1: can still buy, easy bake oven.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Oh, I had that. I loved it.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I ate so many cakes. Candice, who thought that was
- 25:12Speaker 1: a good idea?
- 25:12Speaker 3: It was perfect.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Who thought an easy bake oven?
- 25:15Speaker 3: It was just like a little light bulb in there.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Scorching hot that could cook stuff. Right.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I had it in my room.
- 25:21Speaker 1: How is that safe? Yeah. Do they still have them?
- 25:24Speaker 3: I don't know. That's a good question.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Those cookies.
- 25:28Speaker 6: It came with a little cake batter and you just
- 25:30Speaker 6: put water in it. I was so happy when Santa
- 25:33Speaker 6: brought me that.
- 25:33Speaker 1: You were? Yes.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:35Speaker 1: There's part of you that wants to get one right now.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I love cake.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I bet you I could do my sourdough in that.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Get ready.
- 25:42Speaker 7: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 25:45Speaker 7: Kid in the morning.
- 25:46Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 25:48Speaker 1: The Mesquite Mamacita is here. Dora the Explorer herself.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 25:55Speaker 6: Well, mostly cloudy and warmer today. We'll be in the
- 25:57Speaker 6: low 80s again. Just more humid today. You'll notice it
- 26:00Speaker 6: when you go outside. We do have rain chances this
- 26:03Speaker 6: afternoon and evening, so just a heads up. Guys, Stonebriar
- 26:07Speaker 6: Center in Frisco is getting some upgrades where the old
- 26:09Speaker 6: Dix was.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Did you know about this?
- 26:11Speaker 5: Oh.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Oh, yes, I love that Dix.
- 26:12Speaker 6: Well, the construction is supposed to start in the first
- 26:15Speaker 6: part of next year. Dix is actually opening its House
- 26:17Speaker 6: of Sport on the other side of the mall where
- 26:19Speaker 6: Sears is.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Hold on, I'm sorry.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Or Sears was.
- 26:22Speaker 1: I hate to interrupt you, Candace.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Pooh, grow up.
- 26:24Speaker 3: I'm sorry. You guys.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I know, grow up.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Well, y'all know where the old Dix was, right?
- 26:29Speaker 1: Yes, I know where the old Dix was.
- 26:30Speaker 2: It was on the side.
- 26:31Speaker 1: We have a Dix right here, too.
- 26:32Speaker 3: The House of Sport.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yeah, well, that's, you know, coming in Frisco.
- 26:35Speaker 6: But where the old Dix was, they're going to put in.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I can see you out of the corner.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Of my eye. I know. You're such a child.
- 26:43Speaker 6: The exact tenants haven't been announced yet, but the rendering
- 26:47Speaker 6: of this space looks beautiful. So it's going to look
- 26:50Speaker 6: like a park area with walking paths.
- 26:52Speaker 3: It's very upscale.
- 26:53Speaker 6: They'll have new landscaping and restaurants with outdoor seating. So
- 26:57Speaker 6: that's something to look forward to because I know you
- 26:59Speaker 6: and your son like that mall.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Well, there's a trend. Yeah, we go to that mall
- 27:02Speaker 1: a lot. There's also a trend where they're like building
- 27:04Speaker 1: two dicks next to each other.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Well, the old one was there, but now they're doing
- 27:09Speaker 6: the House of Sport on the other side of the mall,
- 27:11Speaker 6: so that space has to be redesigned.
- 27:13Speaker 3: So it's going to be good.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Out here, people don't know, I'll sometimes Instagram over, you know,
- 27:17Speaker 1: because there's beautiful sunrises over Dick's.
- 27:20Speaker 5: Right.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Exactly. I'll catch it, but now we have two Dick's.
- 27:23Speaker 1: So there's one Dix right here and another Dix over there.
- 27:26Speaker 3: What's the other one?
- 27:27Speaker 1: Going, going, gone. Going, going, gone. So there's, yeah, there's two.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Right.
- 27:31Speaker 1: It's beautiful.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Anyway, go ahead.
- 27:32Speaker 3: It is right off the tollway, guys.
- 27:34Speaker 6: Shout out to the Milwaukee Brewers winning the World Series
- 27:37Speaker 6: for the first time in franchise history.
- 27:39Speaker 3: They won it in game five last night.
- 27:41Speaker 6: They are now, there's four MLB teams that have never
- 27:44Speaker 6: won the World Series, which is really cool series to
- 27:47Speaker 6: see those two teams raise and the Brewers who had
- 27:49Speaker 6: never won before.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I mean, of course I want the Rangers to win,
- 27:52Speaker 1: but if they're not going to win.
- 27:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Let the Brewers have some fun. They've never won it.
- 27:55Speaker 1: We got a Brewers fan here, our buddy Danny.
- 27:57Speaker 3: I'm so happy for Danny.
- 27:59Speaker 1: He hasn't been asleep yet. He's partying. He's wearing no pants.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Running up and down the hallway.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I think he's still tipsy. I don't know what's going on,
- 28:06Speaker 1: but he's here wearing.
- 28:06Speaker 6: Good for him.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Live your life.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he's, oh, he's living it. Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 3: I mean, remember how fun it was when the Rangers
- 28:12Speaker 3: finally won it?
- 28:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 3: What a time.
- 28:15Speaker 1: What a time to be alive when the Rangers won.
- 28:17Speaker 1: It was just like.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I know.
- 28:18Speaker 5: Everywhere you walked.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Creepers.
- 28:20Speaker 3: There it is.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it was just a time, man.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Oh, I want to relive that again.
- 28:24Speaker 5: So do I.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I hope we do next season.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope so, too.
- 28:27Speaker 1: In the meantime, it's our year for the Cowboys.
- 28:29Speaker 3: That's right.
- 28:30Speaker 6: Real quick, guys, do you want a list of celebrities
- 28:33Speaker 6: who say they don't plan to leave tons of money
- 28:36Speaker 6: to their kids?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Of course I do.
- 28:38Speaker 6: Okay, so Shaquille O'Neal says his kids are getting nothing
- 28:41Speaker 6: unless they get an education.
- 28:43Speaker 5: Wow. Yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Well, that's okay. I'm not mad at that, though.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:47Speaker 1: If you're saying, yeah, I'll give you my money, but
- 28:49Speaker 1: you got to have an education. You can't just loaf
- 28:51Speaker 1: around here doing nothing.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Right.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fine.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that.
- 28:55Speaker 6: Daniel Craig, though, says he thinks inheritance is quite distasteful.
- 28:58Speaker 6: He says his philosophy is get rid of it or give.
- 29:01Speaker 3: It away before you go. But I'm like, wouldn't you just...
- 29:03Speaker 3: Give it to your kids?
- 29:04Speaker 1: That's so rude.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Why would you do that, Dad?
- 29:06Speaker 1: I mean, like, I didn't have a dad to leave
- 29:08Speaker 1: me anything. But at the same time, if he didn't,
- 29:11Speaker 1: if he had a bunch of money, I would feel...
- 29:13Speaker 1: My dad just disappeared. I'd feel worse, though, if he
- 29:15Speaker 1: was around rich and gave me no money. Right. Yeah.
- 29:17Speaker 1: What are you doing? Yeah. Come on, dad.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Right.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Who else?
- 29:21Speaker 3: Who is better to take this than me?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Especially if you're stupid rich. Right. Give me an advantage
- 29:26Speaker 1: in life.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 29:27Speaker 6: Anderson Cooper says he doesn't know what he'll have, but
- 29:30Speaker 6: he doesn't.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Intend to leave some sort of pot of gold to
- 29:33Speaker 3: his son.
- 29:33Speaker 5: Wow.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that's wild to me.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 6: Even Guy Fieri told his boys, you know, none of
- 29:39Speaker 6: this that I've i've been building um you're gonna get
- 29:41Speaker 6: unless you come and take.
- 29:42Speaker 1: It from me so i gotta put up with you
- 29:44Speaker 1: being my dad in that hair all my life yeah
- 29:46Speaker 1: and you're not gonna give me money right i'm no
- 29:49Speaker 1: i'm gonna steal it okay wait till you get old then.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yeah don't give me no money Watch what happens. Watch
- 29:54Speaker 2: what nursing home I stick you in.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, see if you can change your own diaper.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah, you and that hair will be in a nursing
- 30:01Speaker 2: home real quick.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you going to do when you can't
- 30:04Speaker 1: cook for yourself?
- 30:05Speaker 3: Oh, he's going to pay someone to do it.
- 30:08Speaker 1: That's crazy. Even Bill Gates said he wasn't going to
- 30:10Speaker 1: do it.
- 30:10Speaker 5: Bill Gates, yeah.
- 30:11Speaker 6: Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis said they're going to end
- 30:13Speaker 6: up giving their money away to charity and do various things.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Ashton Kutcher's last punked episode. Kids, you get no money.
- 30:18Speaker 5: Ha!
- 30:20Speaker 3: Wow exactly exactly all.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Right i'm candace lopez those are your texas top stories
- 30:27Speaker 6: get it off your chest we promise you'll feel better welcome.
- 30:31Speaker 7: To dirty little secret with billy the kid in the morning.
- 30:33Speaker 5: The new mix 102.9.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It's billy the kid candace lopez producer poo your secrets
- 30:39Speaker 1: 833-787-1029 confess anytime you want You got a good one.
- 30:45Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 30:46Speaker 8: So I have a secret that's probably going to sound
- 30:48Speaker 8: completely insane to some people, but it's something that I've
- 30:52Speaker 8: lived with my entire life. I'm a medium. I can
- 30:56Speaker 8: communicate with spirits. And yeah, it's been something that I've
- 31:02Speaker 8: been able to do since I was a little girl.
- 31:05Speaker 8: Most of all my friends and my family, they know
- 31:07Speaker 8: about it.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I love that you say it's so normal. You're just like,
- 31:10Speaker 1: so I can communicate with the dead. And I like
- 31:14Speaker 1: long walks on the beach. But no, it's a thing.
- 31:18Speaker 1: And yeah, so anyway, you've done this for a while.
- 31:21Speaker 8: But I don't usually go around telling people right away. Because,
- 31:26Speaker 8: you know, they either have a million questions or they
- 31:29Speaker 8: get completely freaked out and think I'm crazy and don't
- 31:33Speaker 8: believe it. And I've actually scared some guys away before
- 31:36Speaker 8: because of it.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yeah, right. So is that your secret that you're a medium?
- 31:40Speaker 1: I can understand why that would freak people out, though.
- 31:42Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 31:42Speaker 1: It's a lot to hear on a first date. Like,
- 31:44Speaker 1: by the way, your dead dad's behind you. Anyway, so
- 31:50Speaker 1: you don't tell them right away.
- 31:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:52Speaker 8: So I've been dating my boyfriend for a few months now.
- 31:56Speaker 8: He has absolutely no idea about this part of my life,
- 31:58Speaker 8: but that's not– this isn't the secret I wanted to
- 32:01Speaker 8: talk about.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 32:03Speaker 8: But first, you have to kind of understand that every
- 32:05Speaker 8: medium is different, and some have to actually call on
- 32:09Speaker 8: spirits in order to communicate with them. Others just feel
- 32:13Speaker 8: like spirits are all around them constantly. I don't ask
- 32:20Speaker 8: for it. It doesn't happen everywhere I go, but when
- 32:23Speaker 8: it does, it's usually something or someone who has tragically passed,
- 32:29Speaker 8: tragically died. I don't know why, but those are the
- 32:33Speaker 8: spirits that I seem to connect with most.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Wow.
- 32:36Speaker 8: Recently, well, my boyfriend's family, they are huge, huge cowboy fans. Obviously,
- 32:42Speaker 8: we're during football season. They throw these really big watch
- 32:45Speaker 8: parties with But a couple of weeks ago, we went
- 32:48Speaker 8: to one at a new house his family has just
- 32:51Speaker 8: moved into. And the second we pulled into that driveway,
- 32:54Speaker 8: I knew something was terribly wrong. I immediately felt the
- 32:59Speaker 8: presence of a young woman. And I mean, I say immediately,
- 33:03Speaker 8: I almost like she was waiting for me outside this house.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Really? Yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 8: And I've never really experienced it quite like that. And
- 33:15Speaker 8: sometimes when spirits, they recognize that someone can communicate with them,
- 33:18Speaker 8: they just become desperate to connect. And that's exactly what
- 33:22Speaker 8: this felt like.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Really? So you felt immediately when you pulled up to
- 33:26Speaker 1: the house that she was there like, hey, I need
- 33:29Speaker 1: to talk to you.
- 33:30Speaker 8: Yes. And it was so strong. And this woman was
- 33:34Speaker 8: so distraught.
- 33:35Speaker 2: What?
- 33:37Speaker 1: Oh, gosh.
- 33:38Speaker 8: I could feel this overwhelming sadness, this desperation coming from her.
- 33:42Speaker 8: It's hard to explain because they don't communicate the same
- 33:47Speaker 8: way that you and I do.
- 33:48Speaker 1: No.
- 33:49Speaker 8: Sometimes it's images or it's a feeling. And sometimes it's
- 33:53Speaker 8: just something you instinctively understand.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That's interesting to me and also a little bit creepy.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. But if it's obviously to you,
- 34:00Speaker 1: it's different. But if it's you don't know that feeling,
- 34:02Speaker 1: that's just sounds it does sound a little crazy.
- 34:05Speaker 3: It kind of sounds unbelievable.
- 34:06Speaker 1: It does. But so you think she she passed away tragically?
- 34:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 8: And I'm walking into this house and I'm meeting his
- 34:15Speaker 8: family and everybody's laughing and they're having a great time.
- 34:17Speaker 8: And I am just trying to act like everything is normal,
- 34:20Speaker 8: but it's not. And I keep getting chills the whole time.
- 34:25Speaker 8: I do believe this was a young woman and her
- 34:28Speaker 8: life was ended on the property. Someone took her life.
- 34:30Speaker 8: She was killed.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 34:34Speaker 8: Yeah. And she wasn't the only spirit there. This whole
- 34:38Speaker 8: house was just filled with some types of desperate tears.
- 34:42Speaker 8: spirits trying to communicate with me.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Really so you're just i'm trying to put myself in
- 34:47Speaker 1: your shoes you're there you're trying to enjoy this gathering.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Yeah you're at a party and then you got a
- 34:51Speaker 2: ghost party showing.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Up yeah you got two parties this does sound how.
- 34:56Speaker 8: Do you put your energy in one side or the
- 34:59Speaker 8: other it was very hard for me.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Well if i'm the boyfriend's family i want to know
- 35:04Speaker 1: that there's a bunch of dead people at my house
- 35:05Speaker 1: or do.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I actually i don't know i don't want to know
- 35:08Speaker 2: i don't think.
- 35:09Speaker 1: So did you did you end up telling them I
- 35:11Speaker 1: haven't yet.
- 35:12Speaker 7: You haven't?
- 35:13Speaker 8: I haven't told my boyfriend or anyone in his family
- 35:15Speaker 8: what I experienced. And they're so excited about their new home.
- 35:18Speaker 8: I don't want to be the crazy girlfriend who ruins
- 35:20Speaker 8: everything for them.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I do get that, too. So what do you do?
- 35:25Speaker 1: You just sit there and go, I didn't see anything,
- 35:28Speaker 1: didn't hear anything.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Nothing to see here.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Nothing to see here. Life is fine.
- 35:31Speaker 2: You're just trying to eat your nachos in peace.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm just trying to watch the Cowboys lose in peace.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Wow. I mean, it's hard.
- 35:40Speaker 8: And that's what people don't understand about this gift is
- 35:43Speaker 8: there's a really heavy emotional weight to it that sometimes
- 35:47Speaker 8: you bear people's sadness, fear, their tragedies, or just catastrophic circumstances.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Will you eventually tell your boyfriend that you can do this?
- 35:55Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like you have to at some point.
- 35:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 1: If you're serious.
- 35:59Speaker 8: I will have to at some point.
- 36:00Speaker 1: The wild part to me is, though, that you could
- 36:03Speaker 1: have these spirits on this person's property and in their house.
- 36:07Speaker 1: And they have no idea. Like, they never feel it.
- 36:10Speaker 1: So I'm wondering if the... How often does that happen?
- 36:12Speaker 1: Or does usually.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Right, they never bother them.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, like, does it usually come out in some way
- 36:17Speaker 1: to the people who aren't gifted and connected? Or does
- 36:19Speaker 1: it just... Sometimes it never does.
- 36:21Speaker 8: I feel like, depending on the circumstances, I think with
- 36:25Speaker 8: this being such a tragic ending, that I think it will...
- 36:29Speaker 8: It's going to come out in the house. There are
- 36:32Speaker 8: going to be things that they're going to feel or
- 36:35Speaker 8: see or... But not all the time. If it's a
- 36:39Speaker 8: spirit that's settled, that doesn't often come out.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I got the chills. Yeah. So you think eventually these
- 36:47Speaker 1: regular people with no gifts will see, hear things, whatever.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Somehow this woman who died tragically will let her presence
- 36:54Speaker 1: be known.
- 36:55Speaker 8: Yeah, usually that's how it happens.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Then you can tell them.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Then be like, hey, by the way, I knew this
- 37:02Speaker 1: was coming. Yeah.
- 37:04Speaker 2: The reason why them dishes keep breaking.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 37:09Speaker 1: There's a reason you were floating in the living room earlier. Well,
- 37:14Speaker 1: thank you for your sharing that. It's what a powerful story.
- 37:19Speaker 1: What a powerful gift. And yeah, you call us back anytime,
- 37:22Speaker 1: especially this time of the year, Halloween. If something happens,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I want to know. I want to know someone dead.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Can you see him through the phone or no?
- 37:29Speaker 8: No, I got to be in the same presence.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I don't want to know.
- 37:33Speaker 2: So you don't know if the cowboy's going to win?
- 37:34Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she's not psychic, though. Well, the cowboy season
- 37:39Speaker 1: is dead. She might see it.
- 37:40Speaker 8: Oh, God.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Sorry. All right, well, thank you so much. I appreciate it,
- 37:46Speaker 1: and good luck with everything, and I hope it works
- 37:48Speaker 1: out with you and your man.
- 37:49Speaker 8: Thank you. I appreciate it. Thanks for letting me share.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, dirty little seagull.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Order in the court.
- 37:58Speaker 5: All right.
- 37:59Speaker 7: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 38:03Speaker 7: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 38:04Speaker 1: All sit down for the honorable judge, Candace Lopez. Everybody
- 38:08Speaker 1: take your seats.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody relax.
- 38:11Speaker 1: This is a chill court, you know? Yeah. It's Mix 102.9.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Billy the Kid. Candace Lopez is here. Producer Pooh is here. Now,
- 38:17Speaker 1: we also have our terror tour that we do at
- 38:19Speaker 1: 830 with cutting edge passes. So you'll hear a ghost story,
- 38:22Speaker 1: a real ghost story about a haunted place here in
- 38:24Speaker 1: the Metroplex. Today, very good one. Legendary spot we'll talk about.
- 38:29Speaker 1: You could actually go visit if you want to this weekend. Oh.
- 38:31Speaker 1: To get you in the spirit, the Halloween spirit.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Now, Candace Court today, definitely different because sometimes we've taken
- 38:38Speaker 1: each other to Candace Court. Pooh's taken me to court.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I've taken you to court. Pooh's taking someone else to
- 38:44Speaker 1: Candace Court today because he came in very upset. He
- 38:48Speaker 1: was not too happy about what was going on in
- 38:50Speaker 1: his personal life, and I said, maybe we should do
- 38:51Speaker 1: it on Candace Court.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you kind of laughed at me, but it's okay.
- 38:54Speaker 2: I didn't laugh at you. I didn't laugh at you.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Come on, Pooh. I didn't laugh at you. No, he
- 38:59Speaker 1: didn't laugh at you.
- 38:59Speaker 3: Let me buckle up real quick.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Your personal... life that was in shambles look i've never
- 39:06Speaker 1: done that get him judge i might be smirking a
- 39:09Speaker 1: little bit so explain what's going on because you have
- 39:12Speaker 1: some parenting drama and there's really i really wish i
- 39:15Speaker 1: could get the mother of your children on the phone
- 39:17Speaker 1: but you won't let me no we ain't doing all
- 39:18Speaker 1: that no because trust me candace judge candace i tried
- 39:22Speaker 1: thank you for trying well yeah i'm just trying to
- 39:25Speaker 1: make it a fair court you want to hear from
- 39:27Speaker 1: both sides i do But what is going on that
- 39:30Speaker 1: you're so upset about?
- 39:32Speaker 2: My side's the right side.
- 39:34Speaker 1: I'm not saying it's not. I don't really know the
- 39:35Speaker 1: full story.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Well, let's hear the case.
- 39:37Speaker 8: Okay.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Yes, thank you. Okay, back story.
- 39:39Speaker 2: My son, my 14-year-old, who's in high school right now, yeah,
- 39:43Speaker 2: he got busted gambling. Him and his homies were shooting dice. Wow.
- 39:49Speaker 2: I don't know where he got that from.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know either.
- 39:52Speaker 2: But he was shooting dice. And not only was he
- 39:56Speaker 2: shooting dice.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Did he win? Okay.
- 39:59Speaker 2: I did ask that.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I'm a bad example. But you are. That's not the
- 40:03Speaker 1: end of the world. We did that as kids.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Not only was he shooting dice, Judge Candace, but he
- 40:08Speaker 2: was in the bathroom shooting dice right around the corner
- 40:11Speaker 2: from the principal's office.
- 40:12Speaker 6: Okay.
- 40:13Speaker 2: So him and his friends were... Kiki-ing and everything. Kiki-ing? Yeah,
- 40:17Speaker 2: loud distraction.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Can you explain to the judge what Kiki-ing means? She
- 40:21Speaker 1: doesn't know.
- 40:22Speaker 3: No, what is Kiki-ing?
- 40:23Speaker 2: Kiki-ing was laughing, a bunch of laughing.
- 40:25Speaker 5: Like this? Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 1: No, not really.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Oh. They're laughing and clowning each other and stuff, making
- 40:31Speaker 2: a big disruption. Yeah, and the principal then walked in.
- 40:35Speaker 2: The assistant principal walked in and said, hey, what are
- 40:37Speaker 2: y'all doing here? Y'all supposed to be in class.
- 40:39Speaker 1: So he got busted. Yeah, he got busted.
- 40:40Speaker 3: He was supposed to be in class, though. Sure.
- 40:42Speaker 5: Okay. Yeah.
- 40:44Speaker 1: So said he's a wind star.
- 40:46Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Yeah. In the bathroom. So anyway, they proceed to punish
- 40:50Speaker 2: all the kids. Give them ISS. Okay.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Fair.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Okay.
- 40:55Speaker 2: It's fair.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 2: So instead of letting me know and his mom know,
- 41:00Speaker 2: he just told his mom.
- 41:02Speaker 5: Oh.
- 41:03Speaker 2: And yeah. So they both. Yeah. They both counseled each other.
- 41:08Speaker 1: You know, hey.
- 41:09Speaker 2: We'll talk about it later. Yada, yada, yada. I'll punish
- 41:11Speaker 2: you when you get home.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I'll tell you what's funny is I knew. Yeah.
- 41:14Speaker 2: How did you know? Here's the deal. Billy knew.
- 41:16Speaker 3: I knew.
- 41:17Speaker 1: And you know how I found out?
- 41:18Speaker 5: How?
- 41:19Speaker 1: Because we have the best listeners on the planet.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:21Speaker 1: And one of our listeners, I think one of our listeners' kids, commented...
- 41:26Speaker 1: On our Instagram and said, hey, Brendan got ISS and
- 41:30Speaker 1: he's trying to hide it from y'all.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Somebody snitched on Brendan on our Instagram?
- 41:34Speaker 5: Yes.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Yeah. It's getting real out here.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 41:37Speaker 1: So needless to say, thank you to that snitch.
- 41:40Speaker 3: So then you investigated this?
- 41:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I go, hey, Brendan went to ISS? His mom's like, what? Oh, yeah,
- 41:49Speaker 2: we've already talked about that.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I was like, no, we didn't.
- 41:51Speaker 2: You didn't tell me that. She was like, I could
- 41:53Speaker 2: have sworn I told you that. No, no. And I said,
- 41:57Speaker 2: how is it that he got sent to ISS and
- 42:00Speaker 2: I didn't find out about it? I had to find
- 42:02Speaker 2: out about it from somewhere else.
- 42:03Speaker 1: OK, now, so here's the issue that Pooh's upset about.
- 42:06Speaker 1: First of all, he feels like she should have told him. Yeah,
- 42:11Speaker 1: he's a good. We'll make fun of Pooh. I'll make
- 42:13Speaker 1: fun of Pooh all the time. He's a good dad.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:16Speaker 1: He's upset about this. And I I'm going to guess
- 42:19Speaker 1: that she would say, your honor, not everything has to
- 42:22Speaker 1: come to you. And that I think that was her argument.
- 42:25Speaker 3: I assess. Yeah, that definitely has to come to me.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Right. And see. And so my my aunt said, listen,
- 42:32Speaker 2: you know, she she's right. You don't know how a
- 42:35Speaker 2: mom feels. That's her baby.
- 42:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:38Speaker 2: I said, that's her baby. That's her middle child. We
- 42:41Speaker 2: got three kids together. Like, you're supposed to consult with me. Like,
- 42:45Speaker 2: if I would have hit it, you would have got
- 42:47Speaker 2: mad about that.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Yeah, of course.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if she would have. That's serious.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Going to ISS, getting caught in the bathroom gambling.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Both parents need to know about it.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I think I'm on her side.
- 42:56Speaker 3: This is a failure to co-parent.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Like, if I would have hid it, and then everybody—
- 43:02Speaker 1: It wasn't that big of a deal.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Everybody in the family— She would be very upset.
- 43:05Speaker 6: Everybody would be very upset if you hid that from anyone, Pooh.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Yes, they would.
- 43:09Speaker 1: So you mean to tell me, Pooh, that— because I think
- 43:11Speaker 1: I'm on her side.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Yeah. Really? Yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Oh, how's that?
- 43:14Speaker 1: Because, Pooh, you don't tell her every single thing that happens.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I know you don't.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I tell her everything happens when it comes to school
- 43:24Speaker 2: and stuff like that.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I do. Do you? Yeah.
- 43:27Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? I know it's bro code.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I'm smelling a double standard here. It's bro code.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I mean, for the most part, I have told her everything. But, like,
- 43:35Speaker 2: something as big as ISS? ISS is not that.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Has he been to ISS before?
- 43:40Speaker 6: Never.
- 43:40Speaker 3: It's not that big of a deal.
- 43:41Speaker 2: See, first time.
- 43:42Speaker 8: Never.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 43:43Speaker 3: In high school. How many kids actually go to ISS? Me?
- 43:46Speaker 1: I went every week.
- 43:47Speaker 2: I mean, I did too.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Well, that's you.
- 43:49Speaker 2: I did too, but my mama sure told my dad.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I was in ISS all the time.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Those kids don't go to ISS.
- 43:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 1: We didn't call it ISS. We called it the planning room. What? Yeah,
- 43:57Speaker 1: we had to go after school and look at a
- 43:59Speaker 1: brick wall for hours.
- 44:00Speaker 3: What about planning.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Your next event? I don't know. They called it the
- 44:06Speaker 1: planning room. We had to stare at a wall and
- 44:08Speaker 1: plan our life out and figure out what's our plan
- 44:10Speaker 1: to be better people.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 44:12Speaker 1: So I had a lot of planning.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I did, too.
- 44:14Speaker 6: Wow.
- 44:15Speaker 2: But that's not the point. My aunt, my sister, everybody
- 44:17Speaker 2: took her side. I was like, you know, it's not
- 44:19Speaker 2: that big of a deal.
- 44:20Speaker 3: I'm shocked by that.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Here's why. This is why I wanted to talk to
- 44:23Speaker 1: both parties in this case, because I feel like if everyone,
- 44:26Speaker 1: all the women in his family took her side, there's
- 44:28Speaker 1: a reason for that. And I'm not hearing for a reason.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Do they know something the court doesn't know?
- 44:32Speaker 5: No.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Well, because everybody in the family, it's known, they call
- 44:36Speaker 2: me the drill sergeant because they say I'm harder on
- 44:38Speaker 2: the kids.
- 44:39Speaker 6: So they were trying to prevent him from, you know,
- 44:42Speaker 6: taking the wrath of poo.
- 44:43Speaker 1: Yes. Yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 5: Me being ballistic.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Yes.
- 44:46Speaker 2: That's the problem.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Because she already handled it.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:49Speaker 1: Mom handled it?
- 44:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:50Speaker 2: She was like, I handled it. You don't need to
- 44:52Speaker 2: worry about it. It's fine. I addressed the issue. He's punished.
- 44:56Speaker 1: There you go. Done.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Are you hard on them? Are you too hard on them?
- 44:58Speaker 1: I mean, I think he is. I'm strict. Yeah. He's
- 45:02Speaker 1: too strict. Which is funny because you wouldn't think so.
- 45:04Speaker 5: No.
- 45:05Speaker 2: But he didn't get ground. He got phone privileges taken away.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Well, that's good.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 2: It's not.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Reasonable.
- 45:13Speaker 2: It's not, because she didn't take the phone. He still
- 45:15Speaker 2: has his phone.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Okay, well. Yeah. All right. I'm still on her side.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:20Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter what I think. It's the judge.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I should have been told. That's all I'm saying.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Okay. You should have told me.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Your case is over.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Candace Lopez. You are the judge. You're the final say.
- 45:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Who's guilty?
- 45:32Speaker 6: I'm sorry, but I agree with Pooh. She's guilty of
- 45:34Speaker 6: being a double down Donna. You have to at least
- 45:39Speaker 6: be clued in on what's happening with your kids, especially
- 45:41Speaker 6: something I think ISS is pretty serious.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Most kids don't go to ISS. That's not just like
- 45:46Speaker 3: a normal thing. We just don't talk about. Listen, if
- 45:50Speaker 3: you handled the punishment, that's on you. We'll figure it out.
- 45:53Speaker 3: But I do need to be in the loop.
- 45:55Speaker 1: All right.
- 45:55Speaker 2: At least tell your brother.
- 45:57Speaker 3: No phone at my house.
- 45:58Speaker 1: I'm mad. I think Brendan's guilty. His kid's guilty. Yeah,
- 46:02Speaker 1: I would. For not winning. Why didn't he win any
- 46:05Speaker 1: damn money for us?
- 46:06Speaker 5: The new Mix 102.9.
- 46:08Speaker 7: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 46:12Speaker 7: Kid in the Morning.
- 46:13Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Chance to win Harry Styles tickets next. Get ready. Candace Lopez,
- 46:19Speaker 1: what's up?
- 46:20Speaker 6: Well, new data just revealed the most dangerous roads and
- 46:22Speaker 6: intersections in Dallas. So they're saying there were 200 crashes
- 46:26Speaker 6: in these three locations just last year. So let's go
- 46:31Speaker 6: over the top three. Number three was LBJ and Skillman.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Awful.
- 46:34Speaker 6: 61 of those 200 crashes.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 46:37Speaker 5: 61.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:38Speaker 5: Okay.
- 46:39Speaker 1: That's number three.
- 46:41Speaker 3: I-35E and Woodall Rogers. That was number two.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Awful. Yeah.
- 46:45Speaker 3: And then the most dangerous intersection, 35E and Highway 183.
- 46:47Speaker 3: The worst.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Anytime you get to deal with 183, it's just awful.
- 46:53Speaker 1: It's chaos. There's potholes. It's just a mess. I think
- 46:57Speaker 1: an honorable mention should be Park and Preston.
- 46:59Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 46:59Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Golly.
- 47:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 47:03Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 47:03Speaker 3: We should get a side road list.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Yeah, side road list.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Dangerous side roads.
- 47:06Speaker 1: For sure. It's awful over there. But the driving is
- 47:09Speaker 1: worse and worse. If you heard my thoughts... When I'm
- 47:13Speaker 1: road raging my inner thoughts, you would think I'm the
- 47:15Speaker 1: world's worst person. I'm so glad people can't read my mind.
- 47:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that's for a lot of people probably.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I think things that I'm like, I'm disappointed in myself.
- 47:25Speaker 1: I've thought to myself, Billy, you need help.
- 47:29Speaker 6: Like we don't have enough bleeps for it?
- 47:31Speaker 1: I couldn't even remotely say the things that go through
- 47:33Speaker 1: my head. But anyway. Okay.
- 47:35Speaker 6: They are saying, though, Saturdays are the worst days to
- 47:38Speaker 6: drive in Dallas and that 5 p.m. is the worst
- 47:40Speaker 6: time to drive. Speeding, of course, the top cause for
- 47:44Speaker 6: these crashes. So slow down.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Slow down.
- 47:47Speaker 6: Guys, Apple just unveiled its first... touchscreen laptop. So this
- 47:51Speaker 6: is a version of the MacBook Pro. It comes in
- 47:54Speaker 6: 14 and 16 inch models. It weighs only three to
- 47:57Speaker 6: four pounds. I was super hype about this until I
- 48:00Speaker 6: scrolled down to the pricing. How much?
- 48:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 3: So these are going to start at around $ 2.
- 48:04Speaker 6: 900 and go up to $ 3, 200. Pre-orders are open now
- 48:09Speaker 6: at hit stores next Friday.
- 48:11Speaker 3: I don't need a laptop that bad.
- 48:12Speaker 1: I don't need it that bad either. But then again,
- 48:13Speaker 1: you think like that's expensive, but how much is a phone?
- 48:16Speaker 1: Like the new Duo Flip iPhone is like, what, $ 2, 000?
- 48:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but I didn't need that.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't either, but I kind of want it.
- 48:23Speaker 1: My friend Emil got it, and I'm like, man, I
- 48:24Speaker 1: want one.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Does he love it, though?
- 48:26Speaker 1: He loves it and has it broken, even though some
- 48:28Speaker 1: people are saying the screen's breaking when they fold it. Right.
- 48:31Speaker 1: This is good so far.
- 48:32Speaker 5: Huh.
- 48:33Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Are people sitting on it?
- 48:34Speaker 4: Are they folding in their pocket and sitting on it?
- 48:36Speaker 3: Like, how are we?
- 48:37Speaker 1: That's the thing. I'm really rough on my phones.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 1: So I need like a case. How do you get
- 48:41Speaker 1: a case for a foldable phone?
- 48:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know.
- 48:44Speaker 1: It's too much to think about.
- 48:45Speaker 5: It is.
- 48:45Speaker 3: It is.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Guys, this new report from the online puzzle platform Unscrambler
- 48:50Speaker 6: just revealed a list of the most mispronounced words in
- 48:53Speaker 6: the U.S.
- 48:55Speaker 3: I'm going to go with the top five.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Top five most mispronounced words. How are you going to
- 48:58Speaker 1: pronounce them?
- 48:59Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I think I know how to pronounce them.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Okay.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I definitely know this one. Number five is Porsche.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Okay, you know that one. I always say Porsche.
- 49:06Speaker 6: Yeah, same.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not Porsche.
- 49:07Speaker 5: Really?
- 49:07Speaker 4: That's how you know a car guy versus a not
- 49:09Speaker 4: car guy.
- 49:10Speaker 3: If they say Porsche, it's Porsche.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't see. Now I say it that way
- 49:14Speaker 1: because of you.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Otherwise, I wouldn't know because you guys are big car people.
- 49:19Speaker 3: Right, totally.
- 49:19Speaker 5: Totally.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Four on the list is Niche.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 49:24Speaker 3: It is niche.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Some people say niche.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Niche, yeah.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Some people, they, what else?
- 49:28Speaker 3: That's a niche category.
- 49:29Speaker 1: That's a niche category, so it's niche. But then every
- 49:32Speaker 1: time I say it niche, I feel like I'm trying
- 49:33Speaker 1: to be cool.
- 49:34Speaker 3: I know, because you're like, I know how to pronounce this.
- 49:36Speaker 5: Yeah, none niche. Right.
- 49:38Speaker 1: No, it's literally niche.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Okay, what's a wiener dog called?
- 49:42Speaker 1: Who?
- 49:42Speaker 2: A dachshund.
- 49:44Speaker 1: A dachshund. A dachshund.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Dachshund.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 49:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Wait.
- 49:50Speaker 8: Dachshund.
- 49:51Speaker 1: What did you call it, Pooh?
- 49:52Speaker 2: A dachshund.
- 49:53Speaker 1: A dachshund.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Dachshund.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Dachshund.
- 49:55Speaker 3: Dachshund.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Dachshund. Okay, so what's it? This is all just fancy.
- 50:00Speaker 5: Dachshund.
- 50:00Speaker 1: It's just fancy ways of saying things.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Yeah, number two on the list was gyro.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I know that.
- 50:06Speaker 3: G-Y-R-O.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Some people say gyro. Yeah, gyro.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Gyro.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Gyro is one, but it's.
- 50:11Speaker 3: It's yeero.
- 50:11Speaker 1: It's yeero.
- 50:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you know what's going to be number one.
- 50:15Speaker 1: No, I don't.
- 50:15Speaker 3: You don't know how to say it. What's the sauce
- 50:18Speaker 3: with the starts of the W?
- 50:18Speaker 1: That you put on your steak?
- 50:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Wash your sister sauce.
- 50:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:24Speaker 1: I can't say it. I never say it right.
- 50:26Speaker 5: What?
- 50:27Speaker 1: Shire. What is it?
- 50:28Speaker 3: Worse or sheer?
- 50:29Speaker 2: Oh, is sheer? Yeah. It's not shire? No.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Oh, wow. I thought it was worse than shire.
- 50:34Speaker 5: Worse.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Worcestershire.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Sheer. Worcestershire.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Worcestershire.
- 50:38Speaker 1: God bless you. There's more spit on the microphone right
- 50:42Speaker 1: now than ever it's been. I felt some over here.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Good Lord.
- 50:46Speaker 6: Some of the other ones, though, on the list, everyone
- 50:49Speaker 6: says it was the number seven, Jif.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Okay.
- 50:52Speaker 3: It's Jif. It's Jif, like the peanut butter.
- 50:57Speaker 1: But it's the picture that you would send to somebody.
- 51:00Speaker 1: It's a Jif.
- 51:01Speaker 3: It's a Jif.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Not a Gif.
- 51:02Speaker 5: Right.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 51:04Speaker 1: All right, well.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Just so you know, that one comes up a lot.
- 51:06Speaker 3: And then acai.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Acai bowl.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Acai bowl. Good job.
- 51:10Speaker 1: What else would you call it? Yeah.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Acai.
- 51:12Speaker 1: Acai. Acai.
- 51:13Speaker 3: I heard someone call it an acai bowl.
- 51:15Speaker 1: I want one of them acai bowls. Them are good.
- 51:17Speaker 1: They're healthy for you.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Acai.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Put a little washer sister sauce on it. Acai.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Acai bowl.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Okay. There you go.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Now you know. I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas
- 51:25Speaker 3: Top Stories.
- 51:26Speaker 5: The new Mix 102.9.
- 51:30Speaker 6: It's Billy the Kid in the Morning's Texas Terror Tour
- 51:33Speaker 6: on Mix 102.9.
- 51:34Speaker 5: Enter if you dare. Yes.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Plus, we got $ 1, 000 coming up next, too. Are you
- 51:42Speaker 1: ready to get scared, Candace Lopez? Yeah. I just scared
- 51:46Speaker 1: Candace so bad, by the way. Right.
- 51:47Speaker 3: I don't think I have any left.
- 51:49Speaker 2: I know.
- 51:49Speaker 1: I just scared Candace. I got this purge mask that
- 51:52Speaker 1: I was going to wear. She went to the restroom. And,
- 51:54Speaker 1: I mean, I scare people all the time, even if
- 51:56Speaker 1: it's not, you know, Halloween. But she came back from
- 51:59Speaker 1: the bathroom, came in the studio, and jumped so high.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 52:02Speaker 1: You okay?
- 52:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm fine.
- 52:04Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Well, I looked at every corner as I was coming
- 52:06Speaker 3: back to the studio. I was like, I know he's
- 52:07Speaker 3: here somewhere.
- 52:07Speaker 1: There, there.
- 52:08Speaker 5: Nowhere.
- 52:08Speaker 1: I got it on my story, at Billy on the radio.
- 52:10Speaker 1: It's on my Instagram story, at Billy on the radio.
- 52:13Speaker 2: I love it.
- 52:13Speaker 1: It's so fun.
- 52:14Speaker 3: All right.
- 52:15Speaker 1: We've been talking about different haunted places around the Metroplex. Yesterday,
- 52:19Speaker 1: we talked about Arlington, one of the most haunted cities ever.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Here in North Texas, believe it or not, there's like
- 52:24Speaker 1: UTA was haunted. A lot of people hit me up
- 52:26Speaker 1: about that infant cemetery that people didn't even know were there.
- 52:29Speaker 3: That's weird.
- 52:29Speaker 6: I pass by that every day going to class.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Unmarked infant cemetery from back in the day. There was,
- 52:35Speaker 1: you know, Hell's Gate, Screaming Bridge. Today we are taking
- 52:39Speaker 1: it to Denton to Goatman's Bridge. This is one of
- 52:44Speaker 1: the most haunted places they say in Texas. And a
- 52:47Speaker 1: little bit behind it, the story is Denton in general
- 52:50Speaker 1: is pretty haunted. They also call it the Halloween capital
- 52:53Speaker 1: of Texas. So the backstory on the bridge, it's formally
- 52:58Speaker 1: or I guess technically called Old Alton Bridge. That's what
- 53:02Speaker 1: it's really called, the Old Alton Bridge. It was built
- 53:04Speaker 1: in 1884, making it one of the oldest bridges around,
- 53:08Speaker 1: 140 years old, more than 140 years old.
- 53:09Speaker 5: Wow.
- 53:11Speaker 1: And cars used to go on it. Now they stopped
- 53:14Speaker 1: that back in 2001. Now it's just a pedestrian bridge.
- 53:17Speaker 1: It's funny because I go fishing a lot. I used
- 53:20Speaker 1: to go fishing up there all the time and look
- 53:22Speaker 1: for little spots. And before I knew what it was,
- 53:25Speaker 1: my son and I went there in the day, and
- 53:27Speaker 1: we didn't even know. I was like, this is a
- 53:28Speaker 1: crazy-looking bridge.
- 53:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 53:30Speaker 1: We were just walking down the trail because you can
- 53:32Speaker 1: hike around that area.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 53:33Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, that's kind of weird. It's
- 53:35Speaker 1: kind of creepy. My son was real little at the
- 53:37Speaker 1: time and he was just like, yeah, this is cool.
- 53:39Speaker 1: And I was like, this is weird because I went
- 53:40Speaker 1: under the bridge and we saw like some stuffed animals
- 53:45Speaker 1: and things like people were having like a little fire
- 53:48Speaker 1: down there. It was weird. And I was like, okay,
- 53:49Speaker 1: this is giving me a weird vibe. And we fished, whatever,
- 53:53Speaker 1: thought nothing of it. Then I did research on it
- 53:55Speaker 1: because it was a historical like landmark, like a plaque,
- 53:58Speaker 1: you know, marker. And that's when I found out that
- 54:01Speaker 1: it was allegedly haunted. The story goes, the legend of
- 54:06Speaker 1: Oscar Washburn was a goat farmer back in the day.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I'm talking about like in the 1930s. And we lived,
- 54:12Speaker 1: you know, back then, it's just an awful time to
- 54:14Speaker 1: talk about it. But it happened and it's real. And unfortunately,
- 54:17Speaker 1: since he was a black farmer and he was successful,
- 54:20Speaker 1: there was a lot of people who hated him for
- 54:22Speaker 1: that reason. He was a successful goat farmer in the area.
- 54:25Speaker 1: And he would put signs up around the bridge and,
- 54:28Speaker 1: you know, all over to go here, come to my
- 54:30Speaker 1: goat farm. Well, people started getting mad at him. hated
- 54:33Speaker 1: him for it, and they ended up abducting him. And
- 54:36Speaker 1: I won't get into detail, but taking him to the
- 54:39Speaker 1: bridge where they ended his life. Well, here was the
- 54:44Speaker 1: craziest part. When they did this, they looked beneath the
- 54:47Speaker 1: bridge and he was gone. That's how the legend goes.
- 54:52Speaker 1: He was gone. His body was not there. He had disappeared.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Now they say if you go to Goatman's Bridge, remember
- 55:00Speaker 1: he was a goat farmer. Right. If you go to
- 55:02Speaker 1: Goatman's Bridge today and you do the three-knock challenge, he
- 55:08Speaker 1: will show up.
- 55:09Speaker 7: What?
- 55:10Speaker 1: Yes.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Three-knock challenge.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Knocking on the bridge? Yes. It's an old, big iron bridge.
- 55:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 55:15Speaker 1: It's an incredible piece. It looks very cool, but it
- 55:19Speaker 1: looks absolutely haunted. Okay. So you go at night. They
- 55:23Speaker 1: say it's best if you go around midnight, which- You
- 55:26Speaker 1: won't catch me there at midnight. I know. You won't
- 55:29Speaker 1: even catch me there at sunset.
- 55:30Speaker 3: Catch me anywhere at midnight.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Catch me inside. How about that?
- 55:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Anyway, if you go up to this bridge at around midnight,
- 55:36Speaker 1: they say, and you knock on the bridge three times,
- 55:42Speaker 1: he will show up at the end of the bridge
- 55:43Speaker 1: or somewhere around that area. Which, if you know the area,
- 55:47Speaker 1: it's very creepy in general. There's a lot of woods.
- 55:49Speaker 1: It's dark. It's strange. People have done this. They say
- 55:55Speaker 1: that they've heard things, even if they haven't seen him.
- 55:57Speaker 1: They've heard laughter. They've heard goats running around, making noises
- 56:02Speaker 1: around them. Now, there has been a rumor that somebody
- 56:05Speaker 1: did see a half-man, half-goat. one time show up. Weird.
- 56:10Speaker 3: I don't like that.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I don't know why that makes it sound extra creepy. Yeah,
- 56:15Speaker 1: I'm not trying to see that. People say they've seen
- 56:18Speaker 1: a tall shadowy figure standing at the end of the bridge.
- 56:22Speaker 1: They've seen a dark silhouette carrying two severed goat heads.
- 56:25Speaker 1: They've seen a ghostly farmer leading invisible goats across the bridge,
- 56:30Speaker 1: which is super creepy. And this has become such a
- 56:35Speaker 1: popular place that They have gotten 911 calls about things
- 56:39Speaker 1: and sightings and sounds and noises because people go there
- 56:43Speaker 1: all the time. So especially this time of the year,
- 56:46Speaker 1: it's open because it's easy to access. I mean, 24
- 56:50Speaker 1: hours a day, you could just show up to Goatman's
- 56:53Speaker 1: Bridge and see for yourself. So, yeah, visitors have reported
- 56:58Speaker 1: hearing mysterious laughter coming from surrounding woods. They've had calls
- 57:03Speaker 1: about a horrible smell. Like, the city has had calls
- 57:06Speaker 1: about a horrible smell in the area, which is weird. Like,
- 57:10Speaker 1: the most foul order, they've said, like, something's wrong here.
- 57:13Speaker 1: I don't know if something died or whatever. And then
- 57:15Speaker 1: people go there and the odor's gone. I don't know
- 57:18Speaker 1: if that's something that has to do with the goat man.
- 57:22Speaker 1: It was featured on Ghost Adventures, a TV show. It
- 57:24Speaker 1: was also an episode of BuzzFeed's Unsolved Mysteries or whatever.
- 57:28Speaker 1: So it's been on multiple paranormal shows where they have
- 57:32Speaker 1: absolutely said that they have... had activity and paranormal activity
- 57:38Speaker 1: around goat man's bridge. So if you're looking for something
- 57:41Speaker 1: to do, I'm not try the three knock challenge and
- 57:46Speaker 1: let us know what happens.
- 57:50Speaker 2: I'm not really scared though.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Oh really?
- 57:53Speaker 2: I'm just saying. Cause I mean, it was a brother.
- 57:56Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. What does that have to do? Oh,
- 57:59Speaker 1: you don't think it'll haunt you?
- 58:00Speaker 2: No.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Why don't you go find out?
- 58:03Speaker 3: Go find out, Pooh.
- 58:04Speaker 2: Yeah, let me go up there. What's up, bro?
- 58:06Speaker 1: Okay, you know what? Then we'll send you tonight at midnight.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Tonight at midnight, Pooh.
- 58:10Speaker 2: We'll go live.
- 58:12Speaker 1: On Instagram to do the three knock challenge. What time
- 58:16Speaker 1: is sunset?
- 58:17Speaker 3: Like 6.50ish.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Should we do it? Should we do it?
- 58:21Speaker 3: Like 7 o'clock?
- 58:22Speaker 1: No, I'm thinking more 8. 8 o'clock, we are live
- 58:26Speaker 1: on Instagram and we do the three knock challenge to
- 58:29Speaker 1: see what happens. Alright, something to think about. Oh, okay,
- 58:34Speaker 1: Chris has an idea. Do you have an idea about something, Chris?
- 58:37Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 58:38Speaker 8: Since you're going through all the local haunted houses places,
- 58:41Speaker 8: why don't you put one of those plates on there
- 58:43Speaker 8: for the Wheel of Misfortune?
- 58:45Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Okay. I like this because I don't lose typically, so perfect. Oh, whatever.
- 58:50Speaker 2: I ain't trying to stay at no place.
- 58:52Speaker 7: And it'd be nice because the two winners get to
- 58:55Speaker 7: choose which one the loser has to encounter.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Okay. So maybe like spend the night at? Is that
- 59:01Speaker 1: too much? Or maybe just go to with a Ouija board. Chris,
- 59:06Speaker 1: I like this. Whatever the duration may be. But Candace
- 59:09Speaker 1: won't do it. She's scared.
- 59:11Speaker 3: I'll do it if I lose.
- 59:12Speaker 1: I guess you better win. Okay.
- 59:13Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 59:14Speaker 8: There she goes.
- 59:15Speaker 1: All right. You know what, Chris?
- 59:16Speaker 5: I win.
- 59:17Speaker 1: I like this. So Pooh, if he loses, he would
- 59:19Speaker 1: have to go to like, I would probably pick, for Pooh,
- 59:21Speaker 1: I'd probably pick Hell's Gate or the Infant Cemetery in UTA.
- 59:26Speaker 2: No, I'm cool on that.
- 59:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I need to send you there. No. I
- 59:31Speaker 1: would send you to the Mills Cemetery in Garland to
- 59:33Speaker 1: see and have you lay on Charles Smiley's grave.
- 59:36Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Have you lay on the grave.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Can I do it during the day?
- 59:42Speaker 1: Nope. It's got to be midnight when Charles is most active.
- 59:46Speaker 1: All right, Chris, I'm putting it on the wheel.
- 59:48Speaker 5: Thank you, sir.
- 59:49Speaker 1: We're doing it tomorrow. It's official. Because if you missed
- 59:52Speaker 1: that ghost story, Mills Cemetery in Garland. Oh, so many
- 59:56Speaker 1: people called up and said that they actually have tried this,
- 59:58Speaker 1: especially when they were kids back in the day and teenagers.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: You go to this Mills Cemetery and there's a grave.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: What is his name? Charles Smiley?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah, Charles Smiley.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Yeah, either way, you lay on that grave around midnight
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: and they say something grabs you.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: Ew.
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: Just got the chills.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: That's awful.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Who's like, I mean, it's been a while. Maybe it
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: wouldn't be all that bad. Is there any hot ghosts
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: over there? Yeah, so we could send it. I'll put
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: that on the wheel.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: Yeah, do it.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: If you don't know Wheel of Misfortune, you can't. Yeah,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: do it. If you don't know Wheel of Misfortune, we
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: do trivia, and then we spin this off a wheel,
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: and we're going to do it tomorrow. There's a bunch
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: of new stuff, haunted challenges on the wheel.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Are we dressing up tomorrow? What's going on?
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: Of course we're dressing up.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Yeah, we're dressing up. Well, what are you going to be? Oh, God.
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: I'm not 100% sure I'm going to wear my pumpkin
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: because I've got a backup plan, but I just don't
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: know if I can find it.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: So we'll see. You have a backup pumpkin? No. You've
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: been a pumpkin for 20 years.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: I wasn't a pumpkin last year.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: You were me last year.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Right. 23 and 24, I was a pumpkin.
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: Very offensive.
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: It wasn't. I won.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: You were me. You were a very good me.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it was pretty good. I hate to say that.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Yeah, appreciate that.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: You know what, Pooh? We should have come as Candace.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: All we would have to do is just get a
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Dora the Explorer costume.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: What are you going to come as, Pooh? Do you
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: have something figured out?
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a little something-something.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Nobody wants to reveal that.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: I was inspired by what y'all said and some other
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: people online suggested.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. He's keeping it a mystery.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Now, are your kids dressing up? What is Enzo?
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: Yeah, Enzo's dressed as Bumblebee, the Transformer. He's actually in
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: his costume today.
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: Because they're having their fall party today. Yeah, so I'm
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: going to dress up to go to the party later, too.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: See, it gets weird when you're, you know, Pooh and I,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: we have sons, but they're older. My son's 15. I
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: guess he's going to go out and he's going to trick-or-treat. Like,
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: are your kids dressing up?
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Yeah, they're doing something. They don't want me around. They're
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: just like, can we go? I was like, yeah, that's fine.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: That makes me so sad.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Are you going to go with Enzo?
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: To trick-or-treat? Yeah, he's eight.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Well, when I was eight, I was hood ratting around
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: the neighborhood.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Well, no, I'm going with him.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: See, Candace, at some point you're going to have to
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: let this kid go.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Well, when he doesn't want me there, I won't be there.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: I'll be crying at home.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Oh, don't do that to him. You're going to have
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: to let loose.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to stay at home and pass out candy, Mom.
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: No, I will.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: I like passing out candy. That's fun.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: There's no way my son wants me to come with
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: him at 15, but he didn't want me to come
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: at 12, at 11.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: Ten.
- 1:02:25Speaker 6: Well, that's why I'm hanging on for dear life for
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: this eight-year-old Halloween.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it sucks.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: While it lasts.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: I remember my son's first costume ever was Elmo. And
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: we got two houses down, and he pooped his pants.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: And we turned around, and.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: It was awful.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: It was awful, but you know what? It's okay.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Should we put on the wheel for tomorrow? Maybe we
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: put this on the wheel. Early trick-or-treat.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: What is that? Like trick-or-treating during the show?
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Yeah, meaning if it lands on that, they would have
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: to go out. You'd have to go out tomorrow, a
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: day before Halloween and trick-or-treat.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: That's good.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Oh, put it on the wheel. Oh, God. Put it
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: on the wheel. Okay, we'll do the Wheel of Misfortune tomorrow. Right.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Right around 8.30, so we'll have some haunted stories and
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: the Wheel of Misfortune. Tomorrow's either going to be awesome
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: or it's going to be awful.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I can't tell which one or maybe both. We'll see.
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:03:21Speaker 7: Kid in the morning.
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Harry Styles tickets coming up next. Candace Lopez, what is
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: going on?
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: Well, mostly cloudy and warmer today. We'll be in the
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: low 80s again.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: You'll notice the humidity, though, today is back.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Sticky?
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Yeah, a little sticky.
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: We do have rain chances this afternoon and evening, so
- 1:03:39Speaker 6: just a heads up.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: And you're going to love this.
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: Stonebriar Center in Frisco is getting some upgrades where the
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: old Dix was.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: So construction is supposed to start the first part of
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: next year. You know, Dix is opening their house of
- 1:03:51Speaker 6: sport on the other side of the mall where Sears was.
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: So this spot has to be redesigned now.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: Oh, they're moving it.
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Because it was there. They're closing it like they did
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: the one here that we look at across the tollway. Yeah.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: Just moved it down a couple of doors, whatever. Exactly.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: Just to make it bigger.
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: The exact tenants haven't been announced yet, but I saw
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: the rendering of this.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: Space and it looks like, you know, like a park.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: There's walking paths. It's very upscale. There'll be new landscaping
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: and restaurants with patios.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: It's so weird because people say people don't know what
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: it goes to malls anymore. And then every time I
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: go to the mall, it's packed. Yeah. Like I went
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: to North Park not too long ago and was so busy. Yeah.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: So busy. Stonebriar is always busy. But then you go
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: to certain malls and you're like, okay.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: The ones that have been redesigned or, you know, upscale,
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: you know, have been, had a glow up. People want
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: to hang at those, but it's the ones that no
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: one pays attention to that just, you know, get old
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: and crusty.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: No one wants to hang out.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Old and crusty.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: You know?
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Rest in peace, Willow Bend.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, exactly.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: You can still mall walk there, though, I think.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Oh, good.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Yeah, good.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's great.
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: Guys, shout out to the Milwaukee Brewers winning the World
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: Series for the first time in franchise history last night.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: They won it in five games.
- 1:05:03Speaker 6: They are now just four MLB teams that have never
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: won the World Series. um the Rays Mariners Rockies and
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: Padres so it was cool to see these two teams
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: you know you know like somebody's gonna come out as
- 1:05:14Speaker 6: the first time winner I.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: Mean don't get me wrong I want to see the
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Rangers win but yeah of course if they don't I
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: want to I don't want to see like.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: I don't know the same teams winning all.
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: The time the Yankees win again right the Dodgers or
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: the Dodgers yeah I love the Dodgers but yeah it
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: was time.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: And plus we got a friend who works here named
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: Danny who is a huge Milwaukee Brewers.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Fan so happy for him oh he's.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: So drunk right now he is I mean, not at work.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: No.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: I don't think.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: No, he took the day off, right?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: No, he's here.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Yeah, he's here. He said he hadn't slept, though, and
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: he was running around in his brewer's stuff, just having
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: the best time. Good for him. Yeah, live your life.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: So I was happy to see that. Yes.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: And real quick, guys, Pink has gone viral for a
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: paparazzi photo taken of her walking through New York City
- 1:05:59Speaker 6: without makeup. I don't know if you've seen this, but
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: she's basically in.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: A purple sweatsuit. She has, like, a scarf or a
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: bonnet around her head. Let me Google it. Her dog
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: is in this crossbody bag.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw it.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: So, yeah, the photo went viral. And now, you know,
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: she's got a joke about it.
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: So she's posted it in her stories with laughing emojis saying,
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: best photo award.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: What is everyone talking about? I look hot.
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: She's been following that up with more makeup-free selfies, saying,
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: I look even better today.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Okay, I'm looking at it right. Did you find it? Oh, yeah,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: there it is.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I mean. It's just someone with no makeup on.
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: You know what it is? People, I swear, you're not
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: allowed to age if you're a celebrity.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: You're not.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: People see, well, oh, my gosh, Pink looks so old. Well,
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: she's older.
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: She is older, and I've heard her say before that
- 1:06:46Speaker 6: she just can't get behind cosmetic procedures, so she's not
- 1:06:49Speaker 6: having any fillers or things done.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Nothing wrong with that.
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it was just you couldn't see her hair.
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: She had this sweatsuit on, the little dog.
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: Have you seen it?
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I've seen it.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Oh, you saw it.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: It's right here. Yeah, I saw it.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: Yeah, see? Yeah.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: I mean, she doesn't look bad.
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: I mean, listen, it's not a great pic. I'm not
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: going to sit here and lie about it.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll post it in our stories at Bigs1029FM.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but at the same time, don't shame people.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Come on.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: I can't imagine just being chased by a cameraman.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: All the time? No.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: That's awful. If you saw me walk out just to,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: you know, Tom Thumb one Sunday morning when I'm all
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: crusty and somebody took a picture of me. Right. I
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: look awful probably.
- 1:07:29Speaker 6: Moms, after they drop their kids off at school in
- 1:07:31Speaker 6: the morning, sometimes you're just rushing out of the house.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I mean, totally. Even the dog looks a little disheveled.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Totally normal.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Dog is like, what the hell's going on?
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Why are we up so early?
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: The dog looks like, I mean, is that a real dog?
- 1:07:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: It looks like a little poodle or something.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: A toy poodle, maybe?
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's one of those toy dogs that they inbreed.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: Oh, inbreed.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's just got one of those faces. What?
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Looks like he might have mated with a cousin.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's cute, but in a special way. Oh.
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: Well, what?
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Candace, look at this.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: It's cute.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: You see the dog?
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: I love dogs with underbites.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: He's got a lot going on. Underbite, wonky eye. He's cute.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: He's adorable.
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: He is.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: Get it off your chest. We promise you'll feel better.
- 1:08:23Speaker 7: Welcome to Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: the morning.
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: The new mix, 102.9.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid. Candice Lopez is here. Producer Poo
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: is here. Bring on those secrets. Come on, let's do it.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Confess at 833-787-1029. Your secret. So I have a secret.
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: That's probably going to sound completely insane to some people,
- 1:08:43Speaker 8: but it's something that I've lived with my entire life.
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:08:47Speaker 8: I'm a medium. I can communicate with spirits and people
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: who have passed away. And yeah, it's been something that
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: I've been able to do since I was a little girl.
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: Most of all my friends and my family, they know
- 1:08:59Speaker 8: about it.
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: It.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I love that you say it's so normal. You're just like,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: so I can communicate with the dead. Mm-hmm. And I
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: like long walks on the beach.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: But no, it's a thing. And yeah. So anyway, you've
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: done this for a while.
- 1:09:14Speaker 8: But I don't usually go around telling people right away because,
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: you know, they either have a million questions or they
- 1:09:22Speaker 8: get completely freaked out and think I'm crazy and don't
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: believe it. And I've actually scared some guys away before
- 1:09:28Speaker 8: because of it.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Right. So is that your secret that you're a medium?
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I can understand why that would freak people out, though. Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: It's a lot to hear on a first date. Like,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: by the way, your dead dad's behind you. Anyway, so
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: you don't tell him right away.
- 1:09:44Speaker 8: Yeah. So I've been dating my boyfriend for a few
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: months now. He has absolutely no idea about this part
- 1:09:50Speaker 8: of my life, but that's not– this isn't the secret
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: I wanted to talk about.
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:09:55Speaker 8: But first, you have to kind of understand that every
- 1:09:58Speaker 8: medium is different, and some have to actually call on
- 1:10:02Speaker 8: spirits in order to communicate with them. Others just feel
- 1:10:06Speaker 8: like spirits are all around them constantly. So I don't
- 1:10:12Speaker 8: ask for it. It doesn't happen everywhere I go. But
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: when it does, it's usually something or someone who has
- 1:10:20Speaker 8: tragically passed, tragically died. And I just, I don't know why,
- 1:10:25Speaker 8: but those are the spirits that I seem to connect
- 1:10:27Speaker 8: with most.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:10:28Speaker 8: Recently, well, my boyfriend's family, they are huge, huge cowboy fans.
- 1:10:33Speaker 8: And obviously they were during football season. They throw these
- 1:10:37Speaker 8: really big watch parties with fans. But a couple of
- 1:10:40Speaker 8: weeks ago, we went to one at a new house
- 1:10:43Speaker 8: his family has just moved into. And the second we
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: pulled into that driveway, I knew something was terribly wrong.
- 1:10:50Speaker 8: I immediately felt the presence of a young woman. And
- 1:10:53Speaker 8: I mean, I say immediately, I almost like she was
- 1:10:59Speaker 8: waiting for me outside the house.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11:03Speaker 8: And I've never really experienced it quite like that. And
- 1:11:07Speaker 8: sometimes when spirits, they recognize that someone can communicate with them,
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: they just become desperate to connect. And that's exactly what
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: this felt like.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Really? So you felt immediately when you pulled up to
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: the house that she was there like, hey, I need
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: to talk to you. Yes.
- 1:11:23Speaker 8: And it was so strong. And this woman was so distraught.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: What? Oh, gosh.
- 1:11:30Speaker 8: I could feel this overwhelming sadness. explain because they don't
- 1:11:38Speaker 8: communicate the same way that you and I do no
- 1:11:41Speaker 8: sometimes it's images or it's a feeling and sometimes it's
- 1:11:45Speaker 8: just something you instinctively understand.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: That's interesting to me and also a little bit creepy
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie but if it's obviously to you
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: it's different but if it's you don't know that feeling
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: that just sounds it does sound.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: A little crazy kind of sounds unbelievable it.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: Does but um so you think she she passed away
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: tragically yeah.
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: And I'm walking into this house and I'm meeting his
- 1:12:07Speaker 8: family and everybody's laughing and they're having a great time.
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: And I am just trying to act like everything is normal,
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: but it's not. And I keep getting chills the whole time.
- 1:12:17Speaker 8: I do believe this was a young woman and her
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: life was ended on the property. Someone took her life.
- 1:12:23Speaker 8: She was killed.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: Wow. That is insane.
- 1:12:28Speaker 8: She wasn't the only spirit there. This whole house was
- 1:12:32Speaker 8: just filled with some types of desperate spirits trying to
- 1:12:35Speaker 8: communicate with me.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Really? So you're just– I'm trying to put myself in
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: your shoes. You're there. You're trying to enjoy this gathering
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: of people.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you're at a party, and then you've got a
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: ghost party showing up.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you've got two parties. Yeah. This does sound.
- 1:12:49Speaker 8: How do you put your energy in one side or
- 1:12:51Speaker 8: the other?
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: It was very hard for me.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Well, if I'm the boyfriend's family, I want to know
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: that there's a bunch of dead people at my house.
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: Or do I, actually? I don't know.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: I don't want to know.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: Did you end up telling them?
- 1:13:03Speaker 8: I haven't yet.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: You haven't?
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: I haven't told my boyfriend or anyone in his family
- 1:13:07Speaker 8: what I experienced. And they're so excited about their new home.
- 1:13:11Speaker 8: I don't want to be the crazy girlfriend who ruins
- 1:13:13Speaker 8: everything for them.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I do get that, too. So what do you do?
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: You just sit there and go, I didn't see anything,
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: didn't hear anything.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Nothing to see here.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Nothing to see here. Life is fine.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: You're just trying to eat your nachos in peace.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm just trying to watch the cowboys lose in peace.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: Wow. I mean, it's hard.
- 1:13:33Speaker 8: And that's what people don't understand about this gift is
- 1:13:36Speaker 8: there's a really heavy emotional weight to it that sometimes
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: you bear people's sadness, fear, their tragedies, or just catastrophic circumstances.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Will you eventually tell your boyfriend that you can do this?
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like you have to at some point.
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: If you're serious.
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: I will have to at some point.
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: The wild part to me is, though, that you could
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: have these spirits on this person's property and in their house.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: And they have no idea. Like, they never feel it.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: So I'm wondering if the... How often does that happen?
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Or does usually.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Right, they never bother them.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, like, does it usually come out in some way
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: to the people who aren't gifted and connected? Or does
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: it just... Sometimes it never does.
- 1:14:14Speaker 8: I feel like, depending on the circumstances, I think with
- 1:14:17Speaker 8: this being such a tragic ending, that I think if
- 1:14:21Speaker 8: it will... It's going to come out in the house.
- 1:14:25Speaker 8: There are going to be things that they're going to
- 1:14:27Speaker 8: feel or see or... But not all the time. If
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: it's a spirit that's settled, that doesn't often come out.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I got the chills. Yeah. So you think eventually these
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: regular people with no gifts will see, hear things, whatever.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Somehow this woman who died tragically will let her presence
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: be known.
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: Yeah, usually that's how it happens.
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: Then you can tell them.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: Then be like, hey, by the way, I knew this
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: was coming.
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: The reason why them dishes keep breaking.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, there's a reason you were floating in the
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: living room earlier. Well, thank you for your sharing that.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: What a powerful story. What a powerful gift. And, yeah,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: call us back anytime, especially this time of the year, Halloween,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: if something happens. I want to know if someone's dead.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Can you see them through the phone or no?
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: No, I can't. Okay, thank God.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I don't want to know.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: So you don't know if the cowboy's going to win?
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she's not psychic, though. Well, the cowboy season
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: is dead. She might see it. Mix 102.9, Ability Kid,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Candice Lopez, Producer Poo. We're about to get out of here.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: We'll see you later tomorrow, Friday. We have so much
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: going on tomorrow. I'm a little bit nervous about we
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: got the Wheel of Misfortune, a bunch of new things
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: on the wheel. We're going to dress up tomorrow, I guess.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Yay, of course we are, yeah.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I'm just making sure everybody dresses up and there's no surprises.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Well, of course there'll be surprises.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Well, that makes me nervous. We're all dressing up. Okay,
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: we're all dressing up. Last year, the surprise was everybody
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: dressed up like me.
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: It was so fun.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it was so fun.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: I was so comfortable.
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: Yeah, right?
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: How did it feel to have a flat butt for
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: a day? Feel pretty good?
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Felt freeing.
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Candace, what do you got going on today?
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: Well, we have Enzo's school party today, so I got
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: to go get dressed up in costume because he says
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: he wants me to dress up.
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: Yeah, go to the fall party.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: How fun is that?
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's really cute to do crafts.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, where your kid still wants you to show up
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: to their school.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Third grade is awesome.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it is a very fun time.
- 1:16:25Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Enjoy a while last. Soon they're not even going to
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: see you. I know. Unless they need money. Poo, what
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: do you got going on today?
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: I'm going to Michael's. I got to buy one more
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: little piece for my costume.
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: Michael's.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: I like it.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: Go to Hobby Lobby.
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: Why are you always trying to go to Michael's and
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: spend the most?
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Well, because Hobby Lobby is way far, and Michael's.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: Is literally right around the corner. Go to Michael's. Do
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: whatever you want to do. Now I'm curious what Poo's
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: going to be. He won't tell us. I know. He's
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: saying it's a surprise, but you're putting this together yourself?
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's easy.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Oh, well, I don't know what it is. Y'all are
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: real creative, I think.
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: This is going to be a good one.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Come on.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: I'm excited, I think.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: You're building it up pretty. You better come to something special.
- 1:17:09Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Because you're really blowing it up.
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: Don't wait.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: This is going to be a special day.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: I'm going to kill him with this one.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I'm going to kill him, and then you're going to
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: show up, and it's.
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: Going to be like.
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow. Have a good day.
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: Bye. Bye.
