- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley. I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey, it's almost famous podcast. Ben and Bob back with
- 0:07Speaker 2: you as we rewind back to Bob season of the bachelor.
- 0:12Speaker 2: That's season four for anybody that's following along with us.
- 0:15Speaker 2: You can watch along with us for free on Tubi, Bob,
- 0:20Speaker 2: the man.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Hi, Ben.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It's fun to be here with you.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Always fun, buddy. Always fun when we get to hang out. And, um,
- 0:28Speaker 4: especially fun when we get to rip on me a
- 0:29Speaker 4: little bit, which I'm enjoying.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:31Speaker 2: There's not a lot of ripping. I have like the
- 0:33Speaker 2: first step, first, uh, breakdown. I came into it with
- 0:36Speaker 2: like some things I wanted to bring out that, that
- 0:39Speaker 2: would make fun of you and your, and your moment
- 0:43Speaker 2: of vulnerability. I don't, I don't have much today. You're,
- 0:47Speaker 2: you're kind of like really good at this.
- 0:50Speaker 3: No, you know what? I will be honest with you.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It is, it is, uh, challenging.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Because I don't remember watching my season. I remember back
- 1:01Speaker 4: then was a big viewer party season, right?
- 1:04Speaker 3: So they had just sort of rolled that out.
- 1:06Speaker 4: So I remember being in Times Square with Andrew Firestone
- 1:09Speaker 4: watching my premiere episode. And I remember being in all
- 1:13Speaker 4: these different places. And so I was never really able
- 1:15Speaker 4: to sit there and watch the show. I don't even
- 1:18Speaker 4: know if I would have at the time.
- 1:21Speaker 3: But now to look back on it and watch it,
- 1:23Speaker 3: and I'm like, why– did I say that?
- 1:25Speaker 4: Like, why am I, you know, or, um, you know,
- 1:29Speaker 4: I'll be honest. I, I'm, I remember things much differently
- 1:32Speaker 4: than the way that the, uh, that, that some of the,
- 1:36Speaker 4: some of the things much differently than the way that
- 1:37Speaker 4: they may have been presented in the show. And so
- 1:40Speaker 4: my recollection of things are, you know, but at the
- 1:42Speaker 4: same time I'm watching it and it's such a good
- 1:45Speaker 4: feeling and nostalgia. You know, I mentioned, um, You know,
- 1:47Speaker 4: seeing my mom in such a healthy state and my dad,
- 1:50Speaker 4: you know, and my family and my nephew, Jack, who's
- 1:54Speaker 4: now almost 30.
- 1:55Speaker 3: And at the time he was, you know, five, six, seven.
- 1:58Speaker 2: That's wild.
- 2:00Speaker 4: He couldn't even, we, I mean, Jack at that point
- 2:03Speaker 4: in his life, and we'll see this, we actually won't
- 2:04Speaker 4: even see this until the next time we do our review.
- 2:07Speaker 4: But he's featured in one of the episodes coming up.
- 2:09Speaker 4: And we called it Jackanese because he had some problems
- 2:14Speaker 4: with his ears at the time. And so his speech
- 2:16Speaker 4: wasn't fully developed. And he would just have his own little,
- 2:19Speaker 4: I somehow understood it. And so there was a lot
- 2:23Speaker 4: of really sweet moments coming up that I'm excited to see.
- 2:25Speaker 3: And I remember watching those.
- 2:26Speaker 4: But yeah, this series of episodes, the four, five, and six,
- 2:30Speaker 4: I don't recall seeing these. And so watching them back
- 2:35Speaker 4: this time brought back a lot of memories.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Yeah, in four, five, and six, we get one-on-ones, we
- 2:40Speaker 2: get friendship, and we also get hometowns. We're going to
- 2:44Speaker 2: cover an overview of all of these. Hometowns is obviously
- 2:48Speaker 2: one of those staple episodes that people look forward to
- 2:51Speaker 2: every year. It really helps the viewer understand the contestants better,
- 2:56Speaker 2: and then also I think it helps the lead. We're
- 2:58Speaker 2: going to dive into what that was like. It was
- 3:01Speaker 2: a big week for me. I felt like a lot
- 3:04Speaker 2: of my big decisions were pretty much made during that week.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Everything else to that point felt chaotic. And so I'm
- 3:14Speaker 2: excited to talk to you about that. Yeah, as you
- 3:17Speaker 2: watch this back, Bob, I'd love for you to elaborate
- 3:20Speaker 2: a little bit on the emotion of seeing this. Let's
- 3:25Speaker 2: just say it's your first time because you don't have
- 3:27Speaker 2: recollection of watching these previously. Are you cringing? Are you celebrating?
- 3:34Speaker 2: Are you laughing? Like how what are you experiencing as
- 3:37Speaker 2: you watch this?
- 3:39Speaker 4: You know, a combination of a lot of those, I
- 3:41Speaker 4: think definitely some cringy moments for me. You know, I
- 3:46Speaker 4: think what I'm seeing watching myself is like I'm seeing
- 3:50Speaker 4: someone who is very comfortable.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Right. And just sort of grim. But I'm saying stuff
- 3:56Speaker 3: that had I known how it would be perceived 20
- 4:00Speaker 3: years later, I would have never said, you know, like.
- 4:02Speaker 3: You know, I'm like, well, I will holla at you later. Like,
- 4:05Speaker 3: why am I saying stuff like that?
- 4:07Speaker 4: Like just dumb stuff that, you know, I'm hearing come
- 4:09Speaker 4: out of my mouth and I'm like, oh my God. And, but,
- 4:12Speaker 4: but yeah, you know, I'm, I'm remembering it very fondly
- 4:16Speaker 4: and I, you know, loving seeing some of the moments, remembering,
- 4:21Speaker 4: you know, things that happened in certain rose ceremonies that,
- 4:24Speaker 4: you know, you've heard these stories ad nauseum, but, you know,
- 4:27Speaker 4: for example, even on the first rose ceremony night, how
- 4:29Speaker 4: we have to memorize the names and shooting order They
- 4:33Speaker 4: don't have an IFB or anything like that.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I remember I'm.
- 4:38Speaker 4: A nervous wreck. I'm holding the rose. I need to
- 4:42Speaker 4: look contemplative. I go to say someone's name and the
- 4:45Speaker 4: head of the rose pops off. I'm like, will you
- 4:49Speaker 4: accept this stem? I think it's hilarious, but.
- 4:51Speaker 3: They won't use it.
- 4:52Speaker 4: I have to reshoot it. Stuff like that that doesn't
- 4:55Speaker 4: show up in any of these episodes. I think probably
- 4:57Speaker 4: we're in some of the bloopers.
- 5:00Speaker 3: You're right. Now we're at the.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Point where it's hometowns it's, um, you know, the one-on-one dates.
- 5:05Speaker 4: And in fact, in particular, I think the one-on-one date
- 5:07Speaker 4: with Leanne, which is, you know, she was chosen as
- 5:10Speaker 4: the least compatible with me. And up until this point,
- 5:15Speaker 4: I hadn't heard anything that Leanne was having a problem
- 5:19Speaker 4: with anybody or anything like that. And I, I, uh,
- 5:21Speaker 4: you know, really, I really liked her. And, um, I
- 5:24Speaker 4: remember She was going to be like my, I was like, well,
- 5:29Speaker 4: why is everyone have a problem with Leanne? When I
- 5:30Speaker 4: found out she was my least compatible, it almost made
- 5:32Speaker 4: me like her more.
- 5:34Speaker 3: It almost backfired. I don't know.
- 5:36Speaker 4: I don't, I don't know if it was because I
- 5:38Speaker 4: was trying to give her more of a fair shake
- 5:42Speaker 4: or just because of how I'm wired. I automatically felt
- 5:44Speaker 4: sorry for her because I had to hurt her feelings
- 5:47Speaker 4: to be, you know, thinking everyone, but I thought she
- 5:51Speaker 4: wanted to be friends with everyone in the house and
- 5:52Speaker 4: thinking all of a sudden that all these people she
- 5:54Speaker 4: liked were Didn't think she had anything, you know, shouldn't
- 5:58Speaker 4: even be there with me or whatever. I don't know
- 6:00Speaker 4: what I was thinking, but I do remember thinking like, well,
- 6:03Speaker 4: I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt,
- 6:06Speaker 4: you know, and I'm going to actually see how I
- 6:08Speaker 4: feel about her. I'm not going to let anyone else's
- 6:10Speaker 4: opinion sway how I feel. And, you know, it was
- 6:15Speaker 4: a confusing time because I remember thinking like, what do
- 6:17Speaker 4: they know that I don't?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 4: What are they seeing that I'm not seeing? Because keeping
- 6:22Speaker 4: in mind, you know, at this point, I hadn't really
- 6:24Speaker 4: even watched the show. The only season that had aired
- 6:30Speaker 4: that I had seen was.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Trista's.
- 6:35Speaker 4: And so I wasn't really aware of the whole, you know,
- 6:41Speaker 4: I'm not here to make friends mantra and things of
- 6:43Speaker 4: that nature yet. And so, um, it was kind of like,
- 6:47Speaker 4: I was, I, in my mind, I was going through
- 6:49Speaker 4: it fresh.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:50Speaker 4: And, you know, clearly I was, I was not, so
- 6:53Speaker 4: I don't know. It was, it was definitely, um, interesting
- 6:57Speaker 4: to watch.
- 6:57Speaker 2: The Leanne situation is interesting though. And I think you
- 7:02Speaker 2: pointed on something I want to dig into a little bit.
- 7:04Speaker 2: You said you kind of felt bad and you kind
- 7:06Speaker 2: of want to give her the benefit of the doubt.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Different than, you know, and I can only bounce this
- 7:12Speaker 2: off of my experience, different for me, it would have
- 7:14Speaker 2: made me very nervous because of the idea of what
- 7:18Speaker 2: am I not seeing here? What is happening that I
- 7:21Speaker 2: am not attuned to? Because there is so much that
- 7:24Speaker 2: as the bachelor or the bachelorette, you don't see. And
- 7:28Speaker 2: I think that's always a point where viewers and me
- 7:33Speaker 2: even today, I have to remember that unless you're in
- 7:36Speaker 2: the room, nobody's telling you, oh, this is what happened.
- 7:40Speaker 2: This is what's going on. But you took a different
- 7:43Speaker 2: direction where you said, hey, I want to give you
- 7:46Speaker 2: the benefit of the doubt. I think that speaks to
- 7:47Speaker 2: your massively large heart. No, thank you. But my argument
- 7:52Speaker 2: would be, it's really hard to be the bachelor when
- 7:56Speaker 2: you care that much. Yeah.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Well, I also had this weird pressure I put on myself.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I do remember this pretty well. I I think we
- 8:06Speaker 4: touched on this before when I was bringing up Shay,
- 8:08Speaker 4: the firefighter, right? I had this weird pressure I put
- 8:11Speaker 4: on myself that I was like, I don't want anyone
- 8:13Speaker 4: to think that I'm not giving this all the consideration
- 8:19Speaker 4: all the time, you know? And so in my mind,
- 8:22Speaker 4: I was like, you know, well, I've got to make
- 8:24Speaker 4: sure I give everybody the benefit of the doubt that's here,
- 8:27Speaker 4: you know, or whatever.
- 8:28Speaker 3: And so I was just putting this weird pressure on myself.
- 8:30Speaker 3: And I remember I liked her.
- 8:32Speaker 4: I was, I was really attracted to her. I thought
- 8:33Speaker 4: she was super cute. I liked her accent. She would
- 8:36Speaker 4: always talk like stuff that you don't see, like the
- 8:38Speaker 4: narrative that you don't see, you know, was she, um,
- 8:42Speaker 4: you know, had reached out to me after the bachelorette. Um, apparently,
- 8:45Speaker 4: and I don't remember how, but somehow it reached out
- 8:48Speaker 4: to me to try and get in contact with me.
- 8:50Speaker 4: And she had talked about that. She was, went on
- 8:52Speaker 4: this houseboat trip and all this stuff. And she was
- 8:54Speaker 4: very flirty, very flirty, but in a way that was
- 8:57Speaker 4: like very, I don't know, it's just attractive to me.
- 9:00Speaker 4: And so, um, I couldn't understand why, you know, the
- 9:03Speaker 4: other women didn't like her. And so, you know, part of,
- 9:06Speaker 4: part of me and I, and I do, I have
- 9:07Speaker 4: seen this as a viewer too.
- 9:08Speaker 3: You're right.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Like in, in years, you know, since you watch it
- 9:11Speaker 4: and you're like, doesn't he get it? Like, you know, they,
- 9:14Speaker 4: they don't like her because she's not there for the
- 9:17Speaker 4: right reasons.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Or, or whatever. Meanwhile, you're just sitting there going, I
- 9:20Speaker 3: don't know. She's really cute. She's nice. We get along great.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You know, I don't know.
- 9:26Speaker 4: You know? So yeah, it was, it was a, conflicting
- 9:30Speaker 4: time to watch that back and try to figure out
- 9:32Speaker 4: where my head was at the time.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You do mention that you put this pressure on yourself.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I watch this season back and compare it to the
- 9:44Speaker 2: 20 other so seasons that have been available. And I
- 9:49Speaker 2: watch you and I do think you look comfortable. Was
- 9:52Speaker 2: there ever a moment where or a time where you
- 9:55Speaker 2: remember going, okay, I can do this. Like I'm, I don't,
- 10:00Speaker 2: not saying you think, Hey, yeah, I deserve to date
- 10:02Speaker 2: all these beautiful people. I deserve to be the bachelor.
- 10:06Speaker 2: But was there ever a moment where you did feel like, Hey, no, I,
- 10:09Speaker 2: I can, I can make this happen.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, several, if I'm being honest, like, I mean,
- 10:14Speaker 4: there were, there were points where I was just like,
- 10:16Speaker 4: this is awesome.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You know?
- 10:18Speaker 4: I mean, I would, you know, my, my thought process
- 10:21Speaker 4: was I would never necessarily have met, you know, like,
- 10:25Speaker 4: I mean, you know, a little behind the curtain, but
- 10:28Speaker 4: they never asked me, you know, what do you look
- 10:31Speaker 4: for in a partner or what do you, you know,
- 10:32Speaker 4: it wasn't like that went into the screening process of
- 10:35Speaker 4: who showed up on the show, but I was tackling
- 10:37Speaker 4: it more from a standpoint of, I would never have
- 10:40Speaker 4: met these 30 women. In my life, in most circumstances.
- 10:45Speaker 4: So what an awesome opportunity. Is my wife here?
- 10:48Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Like, I never felt like, I didn't have that thought
- 10:53Speaker 4: process that my wife is here from day one, right?
- 10:56Speaker 4: I have to marry someone. Like, that was not how
- 10:58Speaker 4: I went into it. I went into it more from a,
- 11:01Speaker 4: could I find love on this show? Maybe.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Maybe. just like I could find love at the grocery store.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Just like I could find love driving down the street
- 11:08Speaker 4: at a stoplight. I was thinking more like that as
- 11:12Speaker 4: opposed to thinking of it as my wife has.
- 11:14Speaker 3: To be in this room.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Because I didn't think these producers really, even though I
- 11:19Speaker 4: had spent a ton of time with them on the
- 11:20Speaker 4: Trista season, I didn't think that they really had even
- 11:23Speaker 4: asked me yet what I like in a woman or whatever.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Maybe that was because I had been married previously. Maybe
- 11:30Speaker 4: that was because I was trying to approach it with
- 11:34Speaker 4: a really open mind. But also, I was nervous, right?
- 11:38Speaker 4: Because my thing was, I didn't want to be Ross
- 11:40Speaker 4: from Friends, right? And just be the guy that gets
- 11:42Speaker 4: engaged 100 times.
- 11:44Speaker 3: But it was one of those things.
- 11:45Speaker 4: And I also didn't, the more I got to know
- 11:47Speaker 4: these women too, the more I was like, and in
- 11:50Speaker 4: this kind of, I think probably is why you and
- 11:51Speaker 4: I connect so well, Ben, because I was also uncertain
- 11:55Speaker 4: if I was worthy of love at that point in
- 11:57Speaker 4: my life. And one of the things that you, I
- 12:00Speaker 4: remember you said pretty famously in your time on the show,
- 12:04Speaker 4: and I really related to you on that. And I
- 12:06Speaker 4: loved you for it because it's a hard thing to
- 12:07Speaker 4: say out loud without looking like you're wanting people to
- 12:11Speaker 4: tell you how worthy of love you are, right? Like
- 12:13Speaker 4: that's what some people would think by saying that you're like, oh,
- 12:15Speaker 4: this person wants us to tell them how, you know,
- 12:17Speaker 4: it wasn't that at all. It wasn't that way for you.
- 12:19Speaker 4: And it wasn't that way for me. I was more
- 12:21Speaker 4: sitting there thinking, am I going to ruin this person's
- 12:25Speaker 4: first time ever being engaged and be that guy, you know?
- 12:28Speaker 4: And so I, all these weird pressures that you put
- 12:31Speaker 4: on yourself that people don't think about, you know, and
- 12:34Speaker 4: I'm thought of as the fun party guy from the bachelor,
- 12:36Speaker 4: but truth be told, I was going through all that
- 12:38Speaker 4: stuff too. I just wasn't expressing it in the same
- 12:41Speaker 4: way that everyone else or, or not everyone else. Some
- 12:44Speaker 4: people after me have done much more eloquently than I
- 12:46Speaker 4: was at the time.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I was sort of.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Like almost treating it more casually to the viewer. In fact,
- 12:52Speaker 4: I was just tormented inside, you know?
- 12:55Speaker 2: It speaks a lot, and I think this is something
- 12:57Speaker 2: that I don't know if I've ever even dove into
- 13:01Speaker 2: this because I don't think most people probably care. But
- 13:05Speaker 2: it is one of the things when people ask, like, hey,
- 13:07Speaker 2: go back on your time on The Bachelor. What are
- 13:09Speaker 2: you most proud of? And one of the things I'm
- 13:12Speaker 2: most proud of is in this really goofy, and trust me,
- 13:16Speaker 2: the show has been nothing but great to me. It
- 13:19Speaker 2: was a blessed time in my life, and it has
- 13:21Speaker 2: continued to shape who I am today. And even for you,
- 13:25Speaker 2: I think you would say there's many moments where the
- 13:27Speaker 2: bachelor still has this effect on daily outcomes for you
- 13:32Speaker 2: and opportunities that are available and those things. But I'm
- 13:36Speaker 2: proud of myself as a 26 year old dude that said, okay,
- 13:40Speaker 2: this really goofy thing. I don't know if my wife
- 13:43Speaker 2: is here. I'm not dating in public and normal life.
- 13:48Speaker 2: So I might as well give this a shot. And
- 13:50Speaker 2: I'm going to, even as ridiculous as this is, I'm
- 13:53Speaker 2: going to give it everything I have and take it
- 13:58Speaker 2: as seriously as I can because that's a value that,
- 14:01Speaker 2: you know, if I'm going to spend six months doing something,
- 14:03Speaker 2: three months or whatever it is, I want to make
- 14:06Speaker 2: sure that I give it everything I got with intentionality. Which,
- 14:10Speaker 2: I don't know, that might be everybody's story.
- 14:12Speaker 3: It might be.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I don't know. But for me, that did put a
- 14:14Speaker 2: different pressure on it because I don't know if the
- 14:16Speaker 2: show cultivates this like desire to be intentional as much
- 14:21Speaker 2: as it does. Like, Hey, let's see what storylines come
- 14:24Speaker 2: out of it. Let's see what drama can unfold.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 2: But I didn't want to look back and I, and
- 14:29Speaker 2: it's one of the only good decisions I guess I
- 14:31Speaker 2: made at 26. I didn't want to look back at
- 14:33Speaker 2: 37 and say, goodness, that was, I just, I wasted
- 14:38Speaker 2: that or I destroyed that moment in my life. I
- 14:41Speaker 2: it's too precious. Yeah.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Yeah. It's definitely a, No matter how people remember it
- 14:48Speaker 4: in years past, even if you were going home on
- 14:51Speaker 4: the first night or you were someone who stayed all
- 14:53Speaker 4: the way to the end or whatever it might be,
- 14:55Speaker 4: it's still a really unique and fun and memorable experience
- 15:01Speaker 4: that the majority of the people out there won't have, right? Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 4: You know, it is something that's so unique and so different.
- 15:07Speaker 3: And yeah, I don't know. I was so conflicted. I
- 15:10Speaker 3: remember being jaded about the idea. You know, I.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Remember thinking, you know, like before I went into it,
- 15:15Speaker 4: like almost downplaying it. And then, you know, at this
- 15:18Speaker 4: stage where I'm at now, we're watching the show and
- 15:21Speaker 4: I'm going to, in the first episode, these solo dates
- 15:25Speaker 4: and things like that, where I'm getting to hear, you know,
- 15:27Speaker 4: things about these women that I didn't know previously. And
- 15:30Speaker 4: then it transitions into the hometown dates and I'm meeting
- 15:33Speaker 4: their families and Man, it is, I remember the way
- 15:38Speaker 4: I felt after these hometown dates and I felt, I
- 15:41Speaker 4: didn't feel deserving of the fact that these women were
- 15:45Speaker 4: welcoming me into their homes. And I also hadn't, I
- 15:49Speaker 4: wasn't on the hometown date experience with Trista. So I
- 15:53Speaker 4: didn't yet know how high the stakes were going to
- 15:56Speaker 4: go when they came to see my family.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah. And then when I look back on it now.
- 16:00Speaker 4: And I realize, you know, what a nerve wracking experience
- 16:02Speaker 4: they had to be for the grandmas and the moms and,
- 16:05Speaker 4: and here I am rolling in and the dads have
- 16:08Speaker 4: got to be a little suspect.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:10Speaker 4: And, you know, but just watching it, I'm like, oh
- 16:13Speaker 4: my God, I do remember that, how fun that was. And,
- 16:16Speaker 4: you know, I remember Kelly Jo's family just being crazy fun.
- 16:20Speaker 4: And I, I was like, this is unbelievable, you know,
- 16:23Speaker 4: and then Mary's family, you know, and everyone's speaking Spanish
- 16:27Speaker 4: at the table and, I'm comprehending a lot of what
- 16:30Speaker 4: they're saying, but I'm also feeling just like a fish
- 16:33Speaker 4: out of water because I want to be respectful and
- 16:37Speaker 4: I want to let them know that I'm a good
- 16:39Speaker 4: guy and that I'm not going to hurt their daughter intentionally. Meredith,
- 16:44Speaker 4: we go to her hometown date and the first thing
- 16:46Speaker 4: we do is the one thing I did not feel
- 16:49Speaker 4: was appropriate for me to be doing, which was go
- 16:51Speaker 4: to the gravesite of her grandmother and And I'm just like,
- 16:54Speaker 4: what is going on? You know, I remember being really
- 16:57Speaker 4: conflicted about that because I just didn't want to ruin
- 17:00Speaker 4: that for her and her memory if I wasn't the
- 17:03Speaker 4: guy for her.
- 17:04Speaker 3: You know, it's just a lot.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I'm probably overthinking everything in my head, you know, honestly. Estella,
- 17:11Speaker 4: you know, her father passed away recently. I mean, her mom,
- 17:14Speaker 4: very sweet relationship between her and her mom. And it
- 17:16Speaker 4: was just like, I had like imposter syndrome, you.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Know, like, Am I even the right guy to be here?
- 17:22Speaker 3: Am I wasting these people's moments? I don't know. You
- 17:27Speaker 3: beat yourself up over it.
- 17:28Speaker 2: You beat yourself up during it. I think looking back now,
- 17:32Speaker 2: because I beat myself up over it for years. I
- 17:35Speaker 2: remember Amanda Stanton. I went to her hometown and I
- 17:38Speaker 2: was so into Amanda Stanton. She was a beautiful person,
- 17:41Speaker 2: a beautiful soul, a mother of two. I at that
- 17:44Speaker 2: point did not know what the outcome of this show
- 17:47Speaker 2: is going to be. But I remember knowing enough to say,
- 17:50Speaker 2: I don't want to necessarily meet her kids. I feel
- 17:53Speaker 2: like that's a really weird position for her to be in,
- 17:56Speaker 2: for the kids to be in, for me to be in,
- 17:59Speaker 2: not knowing if this is going to be the person
- 18:01Speaker 2: at the end with me. And I beat myself up.
- 18:05Speaker 2: And then you look back now and I think this
- 18:08Speaker 2: is one of the only conversations my wife and I've
- 18:11Speaker 2: ever had about the show. But I remember Jess and
- 18:15Speaker 2: I talking about it and I said, OK, but the
- 18:17Speaker 2: cool part is you look back 10 years later and
- 18:18Speaker 2: everybody's doing just fine. Like, you know, they all came
- 18:22Speaker 2: out of this OK. This was it felt like the
- 18:25Speaker 2: biggest deal to me then. But their lives, I think
- 18:31Speaker 2: I was taking too much credit for the impact I
- 18:33Speaker 2: might have or might not have.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Such a great way to put it. You're so eloquent
- 18:37Speaker 3: with that stuff.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Well, I just talked through it with my wife.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I think about it too.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Like I think, and I hope it doesn't make me
- 18:43Speaker 4: come off like someone who's so narcissistic and self-absorbed, but
- 18:48Speaker 4: it was like at.
- 18:48Speaker 3: That time, I'm like, I don't want to ruin their lives.
- 18:50Speaker 1: You know?
- 18:51Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't think I have the power to do that.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Right. And so now in retrospect, and you know, I
- 18:55Speaker 4: love taking the piss out of the show and especially
- 18:57Speaker 4: out of myself, but like looking back on it and
- 18:59Speaker 4: watching myself, I'm like, what am I doing?
- 19:02Speaker 3: I don't know. I just, I find it laughable.
- 19:05Speaker 4: I mean, granted, it's, you know, for me, 22 years
- 19:08Speaker 4: ago is when this was filmed and I'm watching it
- 19:12Speaker 4: unfold and I'm just like, wow. But I, then I
- 19:15Speaker 4: also hear myself saying some stuff I still say, okay,
- 19:19Speaker 4: my game has not changed much.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Has Canyon watched this with you, your current wife?
- 19:24Speaker 3: She has no interest. She has no interest.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know, you know, her mom was
- 19:29Speaker 4: a big fan of, of the show and of my
- 19:32Speaker 4: season in particular. And I don't know if, And her
- 19:35Speaker 4: mom claims that they watched some of the show together
- 19:39Speaker 4: back then, but Canyon staunchly denies it. And I, and
- 19:42Speaker 4: I think that now it's like, I think there's almost
- 19:45Speaker 4: like plausible deniability for her. Like she doesn't want to
- 19:48Speaker 4: necessarily watch the show because then she's have to admit
- 19:50Speaker 4: that maybe she did see it and maybe you know.
- 19:52Speaker 2: What I mean or she was into you.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Yeah exactly but no it's like it's funny because we
- 19:57Speaker 4: can't even you know I remember something popping up about
- 20:02Speaker 4: the show one time and it showed me kissing people
- 20:07Speaker 4: and both of our boys were like what what is.
- 20:09Speaker 2: That who are those women you're kissing?
- 20:11Speaker 3: Is that mommy? So, you know, maybe there's a little
- 20:13Speaker 3: bit of that in there too.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I wondered, cause my wife would never, she has zero
- 20:18Speaker 2: interest and it would not be good obviously or healthy
- 20:20Speaker 2: because there would be things I would say back then
- 20:25Speaker 2: that I've probably said to her and she'd be like, Oh,
- 20:27Speaker 2: that's cool.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's cool. Bob, we're going to get into some of
- 20:43Speaker 2: the highlights of these three episodes, but there is a
- 20:46Speaker 2: storyline that I think somehow, I think it's folklore, but
- 20:52Speaker 2: you tell me if it's not. Coming off of your season,
- 20:55Speaker 2: I think Bob Guinea was known for a bit as
- 20:58Speaker 2: the guy who was the most promiscuous with the contestants
- 21:03Speaker 2: out of any Bachelor. That was even said to me
- 21:06Speaker 2: while I started my journey because I was really nervous.
- 21:08Speaker 2: I remember on night one, I was like, I don't
- 21:10Speaker 2: know if I want to kiss anybody, guys. Like, that
- 21:12Speaker 2: feels like it could get weird. And I have never
- 21:15Speaker 2: kissed more than one person in a night, let alone
- 21:19Speaker 2: maybe five or six, depending on how the night goes. So, like,
- 21:22Speaker 2: let's just slow roll this a little bit. And they said, oh,
- 21:25Speaker 2: you could never– do what Bob Guinea did. And I
- 21:29Speaker 2: want to know, is this true? Where did it come from?
- 21:33Speaker 2: Why was it said? Like, why are you known as
- 21:35Speaker 2: the guy who was the promiscuous bachelor?
- 21:38Speaker 3: Well, they were calling me the kissing bandit. So I
- 21:40Speaker 3: know that to be true.
- 21:42Speaker 4: But if you watch like in the first episode, like
- 21:44Speaker 4: Kelly Jo was like, we're just going to get this
- 21:46Speaker 4: out of the way and leans in and kisses me.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I was just sort of, I'm an affectionate guy in general,
- 21:52Speaker 4: but I think also the fact that it was kind
- 21:55Speaker 4: of one of those, one of those nights where, or
- 22:01Speaker 4: not nights, but one of those circumstances where I was
- 22:03Speaker 4: the first time they actually knew who the bachelor was. Right.
- 22:06Speaker 4: And so they had already watched me and, and, and either, well,
- 22:11Speaker 4: it must've decided that they liked me or they wouldn't
- 22:13Speaker 4: have probably been there if they were knowing it was me.
- 22:15Speaker 4: But I think that might've led to some more comfortability
- 22:19Speaker 4: about that kind of stuff. But I mean, at the
- 22:21Speaker 4: same time, you know, the show was different then too.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I mean, they were, they were kind of really, uh,
- 22:29Speaker 3: you know.
- 22:29Speaker 4: Like coaching from what I found out later, you know, like, Hey,
- 22:33Speaker 4: you know, Bob's an affectionate guy. So if you want
- 22:36Speaker 4: to kiss him, kiss him, you know, he's good with that.
- 22:38Speaker 4: And so, I mean, cause I remember thinking like, Oh
- 22:40Speaker 4: my God, the one girl's right here and saying, Hey,
- 22:43Speaker 4: can I steal you for a second? And the other
- 22:44Speaker 4: one's leaning in to kiss me with the girls right here.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I'm like, uh, And I remember being like confused, like
- 22:49Speaker 4: what I was supposed to do, but then it just
- 22:51Speaker 4: became so natural, you know? And, and then, yeah, you know,
- 22:55Speaker 4: like with so many things, like so many functions of
- 22:59Speaker 4: the show that were very deliberate then.
- 23:02Speaker 3: That don't even factor in today. Right.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Like the deliberation room was one, all the women doing
- 23:07Speaker 4: a video where they're like, you know, I'm falling in
- 23:10Speaker 4: love with you. And I'm like, Oh my God, it
- 23:11Speaker 4: just like raised the stakes. You know, when I would
- 23:14Speaker 4: give the woman a rose, every one of them, I,
- 23:17Speaker 4: I was encouraged to give them a kiss or whatever.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Or maybe I wasn't and maybe they just did and
- 23:22Speaker 4: I did.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I don't know. But yeah, I was definitely pretty kissy.
- 23:25Speaker 4: I know the other stuff that Fleiss said at one
- 23:26Speaker 4: time in the interview when I was watching a show
- 23:28Speaker 4: with my grandma, which was horribly embarrassing.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I don't know about that.
- 23:32Speaker 4: All I can say is I only had the best
- 23:40Speaker 4: intentions and ultimately trying to figure out if I was
- 23:44Speaker 4: going to have a relationship after this show and what
- 23:48Speaker 4: that looked like and how it was going to go
- 23:50Speaker 4: and all that kind of stuff was, um, was confusing.
- 23:53Speaker 4: And it did feel like the stakes were really, really high.
- 23:56Speaker 4: And so, you know, I can't speak to, you know,
- 23:59Speaker 4: I always thought it was probably Nick Vial or however
- 24:01Speaker 4: you say his name.
- 24:02Speaker 3: That guy seemed to be, uh, you know, he seemed
- 24:05Speaker 3: to be scandalous, uh, you know, on that, on that
- 24:08Speaker 3: show way more so compared to me, I thought, but, um,
- 24:11Speaker 3: I was very much a season. Yeah. Yeah. I was
- 24:13Speaker 3: a kissing bandit. There's no question about that.
- 24:15Speaker 4: And, um, you know, and, but it did actually really
- 24:19Speaker 4: did help me realize where I felt more chemistry, um,
- 24:26Speaker 4: you know, from that kind of thing.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Uh, and, um, it really informed my choices. That's for sure.
- 24:32Speaker 4: You know?
- 24:33Speaker 3: So I think from that perspective, you know, that, that
- 24:36Speaker 3: was what it was.
- 24:38Speaker 2: It's interesting. I remember my time in they would have
- 24:41Speaker 2: loved for me to kiss as many people as possible.
- 24:44Speaker 2: And I didn't like hold back, especially after a few weeks,
- 24:47Speaker 2: like these, you get so close to these people that
- 24:50Speaker 2: you're like, Oh, it's kind of awkward if we don't
- 24:52Speaker 2: get more awkward, I guess. But I did have one
- 24:55Speaker 2: rule where I would never kiss somebody else. If I
- 24:57Speaker 2: could try in front of any of the other women.
- 25:00Speaker 3: That's a good rule.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I would have, it wasn't easy to pull off.
- 25:04Speaker 4: I wish I would have had that rule. I think
- 25:06Speaker 4: because it is awkward to watch myself. It didn't feel
- 25:10Speaker 4: awkward then.
- 25:12Speaker 3: It didn't feel awkward. Like, all right, well, I'm going
- 25:13Speaker 3: to go talk with Debbie smooch.
- 25:15Speaker 4: I mean, it wasn't like we were making out, but
- 25:16Speaker 4: it was still like a more than a peck on
- 25:19Speaker 4: the cheek, you know? And so I'm like watching it going,
- 25:22Speaker 4: what the hell are you doing? I mean, I, I
- 25:25Speaker 4: do understand it watching it back now years later, but
- 25:28Speaker 4: at the time it felt natural and okay.
- 25:31Speaker 3: You know, that's fair.
- 25:32Speaker 2: No, and that's what we're doing this for is because
- 25:35Speaker 2: it's fun to look back and say, somehow that felt normal.
- 25:38Speaker 2: It felt normal. Like it was the way it was
- 25:41Speaker 2: supposed to be. Do you have any reaction to watching
- 25:45Speaker 2: you kiss on, on TV?
- 25:48Speaker 3: I hate it.
- 25:50Speaker 4: I mean, honestly, God, I hate the sound of my voice.
- 25:52Speaker 4: I hate the way I look. I hate the way
- 25:55Speaker 4: I sound. I hate the way I know everything. Like,
- 25:57Speaker 4: I'm like, why the, what again, 22 years ago, why
- 26:00Speaker 4: am I wearing a three button zoot suit? It looks
- 26:03Speaker 4: like a zoot suit to me, you know?
- 26:06Speaker 3: And I don't know.
- 26:07Speaker 4: I mean, Cary Fetman came along after me, but he
- 26:12Speaker 4: came along kind of at the tail end of my
- 26:13Speaker 4: season or midway through my season. And I remember he, no,
- 26:17Speaker 4: maybe he was at the beginning of my season, but
- 26:18Speaker 4: I remember the suits and stuff like that came from
- 26:21Speaker 4: this particular.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Suit maker. I can't even think of the name right now.
- 26:25Speaker 3: They're not around anymore.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Well, he was on episode one.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 4: Yeah. That guy was, yeah. And, but I remember, you know,
- 26:34Speaker 4: Cary was so great. He was like, you know, we
- 26:36Speaker 4: need to tailor these, we need to fix, you know,
- 26:38Speaker 4: we need to fix these suits. So, you know, people
- 26:39Speaker 4: need to see, you know, what you're in good shape
- 26:42Speaker 4: or whatever.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I was like, thanks, Carrie.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Yeah. And, um, but I remember even now still looking
- 26:47Speaker 4: at those suits going, I would never wear a suit
- 26:50Speaker 4: like that now, you know, but again, it's the timing
- 26:53Speaker 4: and it is what it is, I guess, but.
- 26:55Speaker 2: It was the fashion of the day.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:56Speaker 2: You're looking good. I think you're, I think you're, you're
- 26:59Speaker 2: looking great during this. It is always funny though, to
- 27:02Speaker 2: watch like these kissing scenes, knowing that, um, Just as
- 27:07Speaker 2: the biology of a male, when you're making out with
- 27:10Speaker 2: somebody in a pool, these people are beautiful, and there's
- 27:13Speaker 2: 20 cameras around you.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Those throwback moments for me of how comfortable you can get.
- 27:18Speaker 3: I forgot they were there. I forgot the cameras were there. Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I feel terrible for them. I mean, the sound people
- 27:24Speaker 2: and the video people doing close-ups of us and having
- 27:27Speaker 2: to hear it all. How do they not cringe? I
- 27:31Speaker 2: do want to highlight a few things. The Leanne one
- 27:35Speaker 2: on the Leanne cocktail party conversation. This is coming off
- 27:39Speaker 2: of obviously her being voted the least compatible with you
- 27:41Speaker 2: and then getting the date. The date seemed fine, seemed great.
- 27:45Speaker 2: And she does in the edit, at least seem to
- 27:48Speaker 2: give you an ultimatum. For me, I watched that and say,
- 27:51Speaker 2: how did Bob keep her around? Now I get the whole,
- 27:53Speaker 2: you didn't know what else was going on in the
- 27:55Speaker 2: house and you know, that you kind of want to
- 27:57Speaker 2: give her the benefit of the doubt, but that in,
- 27:59Speaker 2: in itself, because these relationships are so fragile, they're so
- 28:05Speaker 2: at the, I'm going to use the word week because
- 28:07Speaker 2: you don't have a lot of time with anybody. And
- 28:10Speaker 2: for me, the hardest part was figuring out who I
- 28:13Speaker 2: was going to say goodbye to and not making those
- 28:14Speaker 2: big mistakes that as soon as I saw like, okay,
- 28:18Speaker 2: this points me in the direction of this isn't going
- 28:20Speaker 2: to work out. This doesn't seem like somebody that I
- 28:23Speaker 2: want as my spouse. They were gone.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:26Speaker 2: But for you, you had this like conversation that felt
- 28:30Speaker 2: very much on the line of this probably isn't going
- 28:33Speaker 2: to be the best relationship I ever have. And you said, no,
- 28:36Speaker 2: I want to keep her around.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Yeah. I, you know, I don't, that's a, one of
- 28:41Speaker 4: the things I said at the top of our interview
- 28:43Speaker 4: here was I remember things much differently.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I don't remember, like, I'm not an ultimatum guy.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Like if someone gives me an ultimatum, I'll be like, well,
- 28:51Speaker 4: you know what, then fare thee well, my friend, it's
- 28:54Speaker 4: not going to work out, you know? And I, So
- 28:56Speaker 4: in watching it back, I was like, God, I don't
- 28:59Speaker 4: remember that. I don't remember her issuing me any type
- 29:02Speaker 4: of ultimatum. The way I remembered it, because I had
- 29:05Speaker 4: to kind of, I hate to say this, but I
- 29:06Speaker 4: had to kind of like really grind on it to
- 29:09Speaker 4: try and see how I remembered it. But I thought
- 29:12Speaker 4: that my recollection was that we had this great time
- 29:16Speaker 4: on that one-on-one date and everything. But that I thought
- 29:21Speaker 4: I remembered her saying, if you can't see me being
- 29:24Speaker 4: someone you would want to keep around, then I understand that.
- 29:27Speaker 3: But I see myself as that person with you.
- 29:29Speaker 4: And so it wasn't like she was saying, you know,
- 29:31Speaker 4: if I don't get, you know, I'm not going to
- 29:34Speaker 4: be here or whatever. Never did I get that indication
- 29:37Speaker 4: from her that she was even thinking about leaving the show.
- 29:40Speaker 4: which I think, you know, up until that point that
- 29:42Speaker 4: had never happened on the show, but they, they did.
- 29:44Speaker 4: I remember watching it back thinking the other night, like, um,
- 29:47Speaker 4: I did feel like they kept trying to push that narrative.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Well, if it's not right for you, you should go home.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Right. Like they wanted someone to leave, I think, you know, and,
- 29:53Speaker 4: and I think in subsequent seasons after this, people did start,
- 29:57Speaker 4: I'm going to remove myself from the fray, right.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Or whatever.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Um, Uh, but, and that would have crushed me had
- 30:03Speaker 4: that happened, you know, but it didn't thankfully. Um, but
- 30:05Speaker 4: I remember thinking to myself, like she wanted me to
- 30:08Speaker 4: be as serious about her as she felt she was
- 30:12Speaker 4: about me, not you give me a rose or, you know,
- 30:16Speaker 4: I'm going to leave, you know, or whatever. And so, um,
- 30:19Speaker 4: I thought that was kind of interesting. Um, you know,
- 30:21Speaker 4: because I, I do remember it being more of a.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Sweet thing.
- 30:26Speaker 4: That she was saying to me, which was kind of like,
- 30:28Speaker 4: you know, I want to be here in the end
- 30:30Speaker 4: and I see myself with you. And if you don't
- 30:33Speaker 4: see that, then I get it. Then don't give me
- 30:35Speaker 4: a rose. I understand, you know, or whatever. That's kind
- 30:37Speaker 4: of how I saw it, not as an ultimatum. And,
- 30:40Speaker 4: but I do remember in watching it back, you know,
- 30:43Speaker 4: from the other night, I do remember thinking, God, I
- 30:46Speaker 4: feel like Chris keeps saying, you know, and everyone's like, If.
- 30:49Speaker 3: You don't feel like you need a rose, you can
- 30:50Speaker 3: reject it.
- 30:51Speaker 4: You know, it was almost like, so there must've been
- 30:53Speaker 4: some type of, well, if he's going to keep making
- 30:55Speaker 4: out with these girls, I'm out of here or something.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Something, or it was a narrative they were cultivating.
- 31:00Speaker 4: I don't know, you know, but you know, at the
- 31:03Speaker 4: end of the day, I mean, obviously it worked out
- 31:05Speaker 4: the way that it did, but yeah, I never felt
- 31:07Speaker 4: that I got an ultimatum from her. So that was
- 31:09Speaker 4: kind of an interesting, when I was watching it back,
- 31:10Speaker 4: I'm wondering if that was a little magical editing or
- 31:13Speaker 4: if that, if that was.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Really, you know, what it was said. And I just
- 31:16Speaker 3: don't remember it the same way.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I had multiple women leave during the season, which
- 31:21Speaker 2: really threw me off.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that would have thrown me for sure. How did
- 31:24Speaker 3: you handle it?
- 31:25Speaker 2: A lot of, I needed a lot. I think it's
- 31:28Speaker 2: funny because you said, I don't know if it was
- 31:31Speaker 2: playing into the storyline, if I wasn't deserving of love,
- 31:34Speaker 2: but I needed a lot of reinforcement from the producers
- 31:38Speaker 2: of like, hey, some of these girls actually like me, right?
- 31:41Speaker 2: Because if this is how it's going to go down,
- 31:46Speaker 2: I'm going to like, this is going to be very embarrassing.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I'm going to leave this thing like absolutely shook. And
- 31:54Speaker 2: some of it was for the right, like it was
- 31:55Speaker 2: very clear that they needed to go. This wasn't the
- 31:57Speaker 2: right environment for them. It wasn't fun for them. Others
- 32:00Speaker 2: of them I was shocked by and it did throw
- 32:01Speaker 2: me for a loop and it made me question everything of, well,
- 32:05Speaker 2: that's cool. They came here knowing I was going to
- 32:08Speaker 2: be the bachelor. They meet me. The more they got
- 32:11Speaker 2: to know me, they're like, yeah, that's not the guy.
- 32:13Speaker 3: It's not for me. Yeah, no, and I get that.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I mean, you know, when you're talking about the hometown
- 32:18Speaker 4: dates too, sort of the opposite side of the coin there,
- 32:22Speaker 4: my biggest fear, I wouldn't say fear, my biggest concern
- 32:26Speaker 4: was that any of these family members would think I
- 32:29Speaker 4: didn't give their daughter a rose because I met them, right?
- 32:32Speaker 3: And I was like, oh God, I can't see myself
- 32:33Speaker 3: with these people. And so I was.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Almost, I remember that being a really big problem for
- 32:41Speaker 4: me because I was like, well, how else are they
- 32:43Speaker 4: going to see it? Up until now, their daughter's been
- 32:46Speaker 4: perfectly fine.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Now I'm like, oh, I met the dad. Screw this guy.
- 32:51Speaker 4: That's the opposite feeling for me. I loved these families.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Absolutely loved them. I remember after leaving, in particular, after
- 33:01Speaker 4: leaving Meredith's house, I remember thinking, wow, what an amazing
- 33:06Speaker 4: family to have just gone through loss like this. And
- 33:09Speaker 4: here they are opening their home to me, being so kind,
- 33:12Speaker 4: so sweet, you know, Yeah, it was interesting.
- 33:17Speaker 3: I mean, I look back on it.
- 33:18Speaker 4: Now, and I don't even know how I'm supposed to
- 33:20Speaker 4: feel about it. But I remember thinking that was a
- 33:22Speaker 4: big concern for me. I didn't want these families to
- 33:24Speaker 4: think that, you know?
- 33:26Speaker 2: We mentioned it earlier. Hometowns are such a crucial week
- 33:30Speaker 2: for the lead. And I want to lean into that
- 33:32Speaker 2: a little bit to give everyone a glimpse of what
- 33:34Speaker 2: actually that means. But we're going to kind of skip
- 33:38Speaker 2: over episode five. Episode five is great for what it was.
- 33:40Speaker 2: We get a one-on-one date with Estella. We get a
- 33:42Speaker 2: one-on-one date with Kelly Jo, where Kelly Jo... It does
- 33:45Speaker 2: open up about her late father, but really the thing
- 33:49Speaker 2: in Episode 5, and people need to go back and
- 33:51Speaker 2: watch these. Again, you can watch it and follow along
- 33:54Speaker 2: with us on Tubi for free, and it is an
- 33:58Speaker 2: enjoyable ride. It's a great experience, especially as no other
- 34:01Speaker 2: Bachelor stuff is airing right now. But I noticed during this, Bob,
- 34:08Speaker 2: really episode five is when it hit me. You were
- 34:10Speaker 2: traveling a lot, not internationally, but you're traveling a lot
- 34:14Speaker 2: outside of Los Angeles. It feels like you're always jumping
- 34:17Speaker 2: on a plane or a helicopter, just some mode of
- 34:19Speaker 2: transportation to take you outside of the LA area. Do you,
- 34:24Speaker 2: was that different back then? Do you remember that? I
- 34:26Speaker 2: didn't do that while we were in LA.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Honestly, I flew private everywhere then with the shell.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Like we would we were constantly on a jet and
- 34:36Speaker 4: it was like, Oh my gosh, what a cool experience,
- 34:38Speaker 4: you know?
- 34:38Speaker 3: And it was so neat.
- 34:40Speaker 4: And, um, I do remember, I remember particularly the Vegas
- 34:43Speaker 4: date with, uh, with Estella and you and I have
- 34:46Speaker 4: actually talked about this before, but I remember being in
- 34:49Speaker 4: Vegas and it was the first time she had kind
- 34:51Speaker 4: of cracked a little, like she had shown herself to
- 34:55Speaker 4: be vulnerable to the situation a little bit. And, um,
- 34:59Speaker 4: and I remember that really, uh, affected me because up
- 35:01Speaker 4: until that point she had been just fun and funny.
- 35:05Speaker 4: And always these, you know, it's this one liners, like,
- 35:08Speaker 4: you know, she'd respond to me in such a way.
- 35:10Speaker 3: And it was like, Oh my God, this chick's awesome.
- 35:11Speaker 4: You know?
- 35:12Speaker 3: And then this happened and I was like, Oh my God,
- 35:13Speaker 3: she's a human being. Like she is experiencing these feelings.
- 35:16Speaker 4: We get on the jet and we fly back, which
- 35:19Speaker 4: sounds pretentious as hell.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I know. Uh, we land at like five 30 in
- 35:23Speaker 3: the morning. No, I'm sorry.
- 35:25Speaker 4: We landed like four 30 in the morning and they
- 35:29Speaker 4: tell me as we land and Estella, you know, I'm like,
- 35:31Speaker 4: goodbye Estella. She goes, when they take her back to
- 35:34Speaker 4: be with the other ladies and they're like, okay, Bob,
- 35:36Speaker 4: we're going to get back to the house. We need
- 35:39Speaker 4: to change clothes real quickly. We're going to do, you know,
- 35:43Speaker 4: in the moment or ITM, whatever they're called at the time.
- 35:45Speaker 4: And then we're going to get you to change again.
- 35:47Speaker 4: And we're going to head out to a hot air
- 35:51Speaker 4: balloon ride date.
- 35:52Speaker 3: And I'm like, what?
- 35:53Speaker 4: Like I have not slept, you know? And they're like, yeah.
- 35:57Speaker 4: And so I, I remember going back to the house. They,
- 36:00Speaker 4: you know, put an outfit on me. I do my
- 36:02Speaker 4: recap of the night with Estella. And then they're like, okay,
- 36:06Speaker 4: change again. And now I'm like, all right.
- 36:08Speaker 3: And they're like, all right.
- 36:09Speaker 4: In an hour, we're going to be hot air balloon
- 36:12Speaker 4: riding with Debbie, Brenda and Rhonda or whoever it is.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I can't remember from the date.
- 36:16Speaker 4: And I remember thinking to myself, like, you've got to
- 36:18Speaker 4: be kidding me, you know? And so right away, you know, we,
- 36:22Speaker 4: we roll into this next date and I spend the
- 36:24Speaker 4: whole day out there doing that. And then that night
- 36:27Speaker 4: is a rose ceremony.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Goodness, dude.
- 36:30Speaker 3: And, and, I was like, they're trying to crack.
- 36:32Speaker 4: Me, you know, because you know how it is like
- 36:35Speaker 4: you sleep deprivation and you trust them.
- 36:36Speaker 3: But you also are kind of like they are trying
- 36:40Speaker 3: to mess with me.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:41Speaker 4: And so, you know, yeah, I'm sure there are rules
- 36:45Speaker 4: in place now that would not allow that kind of
- 36:46Speaker 4: thing to transpire.
- 36:48Speaker 2: They did it with me. Not that aggressively. I got
- 36:51Speaker 2: two hours of sleep, two nights in a row.
- 36:55Speaker 4: I remember.
- 36:55Speaker 2: So I did like get tucked in and sleep and
- 36:58Speaker 2: then wake up and have to do it again. And
- 36:59Speaker 2: I got nap time during the day at some point,
- 37:01Speaker 2: like on a long drive.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:03Speaker 2: But it's just, you know, with today they get around
- 37:06Speaker 2: it because they have a different crew.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Right.
- 37:10Speaker 2: They have a different person sitting, you know, somewhere else.
- 37:15Speaker 2: And so they can, they a hundred percent can still
- 37:16Speaker 2: do that. I've never heard of going at it till
- 37:21Speaker 2: four 30 in the morning, starting back up again and,
- 37:24Speaker 2: going all day and then a rose ceremony. I remember
- 37:26Speaker 2: having like, Hey, okay, we have a two hour drive,
- 37:29Speaker 2: feel free to sleep. And at the same time, then
- 37:31Speaker 2: I have some junior producer in my ear being like,
- 37:34Speaker 2: so do you, what sports teams do you like? I'm like,
- 37:36Speaker 2: please like, stop talking to me. Yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Yeah. I know. It's so interesting.
- 37:43Speaker 4: You know, it's like, I remember it being different crews too. Like,
- 37:46Speaker 4: I mean, so that's probably how they were able to
- 37:48Speaker 4: do it, but I also, you know, It's interesting because you,
- 37:51Speaker 4: you know, you get to that point where you're like
- 37:53Speaker 4: sort of on autopilot, you know, it's like, uh, you
- 37:55Speaker 4: go through the, the, the ITM interview to recap the
- 37:58Speaker 4: date and you're, you know, but that's also probably why
- 38:01Speaker 4: back then, especially the word amazing was utilized so much, right.
- 38:04Speaker 3: That, It was just like this constant, you know, the.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Journey, amazing, because you're rehashing things on about an hour's
- 38:12Speaker 4: worth of sleep and rolling into the next thing, and
- 38:15Speaker 4: you're like, you're saying the same things, you know, and
- 38:17Speaker 4: you don't even realize you're saying them because you're so fatigued. But, yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 4: I remember that. I remember that date turnaround was pretty aggressive.
- 38:26Speaker 2: It's funny the things that stand out now.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:29Speaker 2: And obviously we survived them all. In the last few
- 38:42Speaker 2: minutes we have here, Bob, I do want to talk
- 38:44Speaker 2: about Hometowns. Some of the things that stood out to
- 38:47Speaker 2: you and that you remember most and then that made
- 38:50Speaker 2: your heart all warm as you watched it back. Hometowns
- 38:54Speaker 2: was a huge week for me. I remember going into it,
- 38:58Speaker 2: having four incredible people excited to meet all four families.
- 39:03Speaker 2: And the dynamics of the families really shaped the way
- 39:06Speaker 2: I made decisions moving forward.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:10Speaker 2: I think when you mentioned just the fact that you're
- 39:13Speaker 2: walking into the house and there's a dad there. Goodness.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Now that I look at that, I'm like, how did
- 39:18Speaker 2: that dad ever let this bozo who's dating multiple people
- 39:23Speaker 2: come into his home and sit down? I would have
- 39:25Speaker 2: never let it. It actually changes the way I look
- 39:27Speaker 2: at Jojo's hometown, which I think is memorable for my
- 39:32Speaker 2: season because it was so the brothers are so against me.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:37Speaker 2: And the mom was just so happy that I was there.
- 39:39Speaker 2: It's a very weird, like balance going on. And now I,
- 39:43Speaker 2: at the time I was super offended. Like, how can
- 39:45Speaker 2: you be so against me as a person? And now
- 39:48Speaker 2: I look back on them, like, no, they actually probably
- 39:50Speaker 2: were spot on. Like, I understand why they said the
- 39:56Speaker 2: things they said, because it was weird. Again, it all
- 40:00Speaker 2: works out in the end, just as God intended. But
- 40:04Speaker 2: it does change my perspective on it quite a bit.
- 40:06Speaker 2: So as we look back on your hometowns, what memories
- 40:09Speaker 2: do you have? What things now, as you look back,
- 40:12Speaker 2: your perspective has changed? And, and maybe did this, um,
- 40:17Speaker 2: did hometowns change the way you made decisions moving forward?
- 40:21Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 40:23Speaker 4: They did. Um, I think, you know, uh, like top,
- 40:26Speaker 4: top of the top of mind, you know, I remember, uh,
- 40:30Speaker 4: I remember realizing how, um, you know, a couple of things,
- 40:34Speaker 4: and they do seem to come through in the narrative
- 40:36Speaker 4: of the episode as well, but Kelly Jo, it really
- 40:39Speaker 4: galvanized my, my relationship with her. Um, just really loving
- 40:42Speaker 4: her family and loving how fun they, I mean, first
- 40:45Speaker 4: of all, I loved all the families, but her family
- 40:47Speaker 4: was super fun and they were just like, you know, very,
- 40:49Speaker 4: you know, I loved how they spoke about her father
- 40:52Speaker 4: and how, um, you know, he had passed away and how, um,
- 40:56Speaker 4: just how fun and loving he was. And they're like,
- 41:00Speaker 4: Oh my God, he would have loved you. This, he
- 41:02Speaker 4: would have loved this whole experience. You know, he just
- 41:03Speaker 4: had this big personality apparently. And, and then, um, you know,
- 41:06Speaker 4: with Mary, uh, realizing, uh, really from just her strong
- 41:10Speaker 4: sense of family and how wonderful they all were, but
- 41:13Speaker 4: also where she was at.
- 41:15Speaker 3: She was a little older than I was.
- 41:16Speaker 4: And she, where she was at from a maturity perspective
- 41:19Speaker 4: and what she was looking at as like her five-year plan, right.
- 41:23Speaker 4: And how our plans may be really different.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 41:27Speaker 4: But I loved how serious she was, how, how committed
- 41:31Speaker 4: she was to staying in this. And, you know, I
- 41:34Speaker 4: remember too, it was really difficult for me because I
- 41:36Speaker 4: remember being put on the spot on every single one
- 41:39Speaker 4: of those hometown dates and being told I could not
- 41:42Speaker 4: tell them, you know, how I felt about their daughter.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 41:45Speaker 4: And so they're like, look, you know, they're going to
- 41:47Speaker 4: ask you straight up, you know, how do you feel
- 41:49Speaker 4: about Mary?
- 41:50Speaker 3: How do you feel about Estella? How do you feel
- 41:51Speaker 3: about Meredith?
- 41:52Speaker 4: You can tell them, but you can't say no. I'm
- 41:56Speaker 4: in love with her. You can't say I'm feeling this.
- 41:58Speaker 4: You can't say, you know, and so you had to
- 42:00Speaker 4: be so aloof.
- 42:01Speaker 3: And I remember.
- 42:02Speaker 4: Thinking like how unnatural that was to not answer the
- 42:05Speaker 4: question asked. Wait.
- 42:06Speaker 2: And then add in, I'm sure they did this with you.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Like you can't explain the question asked, but then you
- 42:11Speaker 2: have to ask for like their blessing to marry their daughter. Like, yeah,
- 42:14Speaker 2: I can't tell you how I feel, but you give
- 42:16Speaker 2: me the blessing.
- 42:17Speaker 3: In the event that I do feel like proposing, you're
- 42:19Speaker 3: cool with that, right?
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 3: They didn't push me on that one as much.
- 42:22Speaker 4: I think I was, I was probably like, Um, I
- 42:25Speaker 4: was probably a little resistant to that at the time, uh,
- 42:28Speaker 4: as I remember.
- 42:29Speaker 3: And I look back on it.
- 42:30Speaker 4: I remember feeling like, you know, I'm not going to
- 42:32Speaker 4: propose just cause you guys want me to, if I
- 42:34Speaker 4: don't feel it, I'm not doing it, you know, or whatever.
- 42:36Speaker 4: I remember like, I was just really defensive on that.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Um, and it's okay.
- 42:42Speaker 4: I'm, I'm glad that I was, you know, um, but
- 42:44Speaker 4: I also remember on Meredith's date, I remember feeling like, okay,
- 42:47Speaker 4: Meredith needs time with her family.
- 42:50Speaker 3: They need to heal. And this is, you know, and
- 42:53Speaker 3: I also.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Was really worried that maybe I was, um, making decisions
- 42:58Speaker 4: because we went through this grief moment together.
- 43:01Speaker 3: And it was like, is this real? I don't know.
- 43:03Speaker 3: You know?
- 43:04Speaker 4: Um, and then Estella, you know, meeting her, her mother
- 43:07Speaker 4: who was just lovely and seeing Estella just how caring
- 43:11Speaker 4: she was for her mom. Cause her father had also
- 43:13Speaker 4: passed and, you know, yeah, I got to know these
- 43:15Speaker 4: women a whole lot better and a whole lot differently
- 43:17Speaker 4: at that point in the game. And it really ratcheted up, um,
- 43:22Speaker 4: the level, the feelings, but also the level of what
- 43:26Speaker 4: I felt I needed to bring to the table. Like
- 43:28Speaker 4: up until that point, I was the fun and games guy. Now,
- 43:30Speaker 4: all of a sudden it's like, I need to be
- 43:32Speaker 4: serious here. I need to figure some, some stuff out
- 43:34Speaker 4: and I don't want to hurt people. And I've been
- 43:37Speaker 4: saying that the whole time, but now I'm, I'm gonna,
- 43:40Speaker 4: someone's going to get hurt. And it's, it's, it could
- 43:42Speaker 4: very well be me, but I've got to figure out
- 43:44Speaker 4: how to navigate this and be, and be sincere about
- 43:48Speaker 4: it and intentional about where I'm coming from and how
- 43:51Speaker 4: I'm handling this.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Because I really do hate hurting people.
- 43:54Speaker 4: And now I've realized I'm going to be, there's no
- 43:57Speaker 4: way to avoid it, you know? And, um, and that
- 43:59Speaker 4: part sucks, right? Cause you just can't, I don't even
- 44:02Speaker 4: know how I slept at that point because I remember
- 44:04Speaker 4: laying in bed and I go, what am I doing? Like,
- 44:06Speaker 4: Oh my God, you know, am I, am I leading
- 44:09Speaker 4: these people on because I'm not giving them an answer?
- 44:11Speaker 4: Cause I'm not allowed to cause the damn show. And,
- 44:14Speaker 4: you know, um, I think that it changed over the years, right?
- 44:17Speaker 4: Like after, you know, now you'll watch a show on,
- 44:19Speaker 4: I love you.
- 44:20Speaker 3: I love you. I was like, I couldn't even say
- 44:22Speaker 3: that back then, you know?
- 44:23Speaker 4: And, you know, but at the time I remember thinking
- 44:26Speaker 4: to myself, like, it made me confused, really confused about
- 44:30Speaker 4: where I felt I was at in the whole process too.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Like, did I need to do a little more soul searching?
- 44:37Speaker 4: You know, maybe, maybe not that it would be the
- 44:39Speaker 4: most boring episode ever, but maybe it would have been
- 44:41Speaker 4: a good idea to give.
- 44:41Speaker 3: Me a day, you know, and just let me really
- 44:44Speaker 3: grind on my feelings.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Because at that point I was sort of just going
- 44:47Speaker 4: through the motions and trying to, you know, navigate it
- 44:50Speaker 4: as best I could.
- 44:51Speaker 3: But yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 2: It's hard too, because you're getting questions asked to you
- 44:55Speaker 2: by producers and ITMs. Like, how much do you love
- 44:58Speaker 2: this person? How much do you like this person? And
- 45:00Speaker 2: you're trying to navigate it and balance it mentally where
- 45:03Speaker 2: you're like, okay, I don't want to say too much.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:06Speaker 2: But I also don't want to say too little so
- 45:08Speaker 2: that it looks like I'm apathetic towards this situation.
- 45:11Speaker 3: So true.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:12Speaker 2: And then it's happening. All day long. And so you
- 45:16Speaker 2: kind of lose track of what you've said before. You're like,
- 45:19Speaker 2: I don't know today. I feel this way. Like right now,
- 45:22Speaker 2: I did think hometowns was the one. It was an
- 45:26Speaker 2: enjoyable experience for me because I remember for I'm such
- 45:31Speaker 2: a homebody and I love my family so much. I
- 45:33Speaker 2: remember being around family and feeling like that warmth of, OK,
- 45:37Speaker 2: this is the home. There's at least somewhat of a
- 45:41Speaker 2: good home cooked meal. We're all hanging out on the couch.
- 45:44Speaker 2: This feels good to me. And then also looking around saying,
- 45:47Speaker 2: when I break up with this person, this is going
- 45:51Speaker 2: to be the first people they call. And so then
- 45:54Speaker 2: they're going to like probably be upset with me and
- 45:57Speaker 2: that's okay. They're going to be upset with me immediately.
- 46:00Speaker 2: And so we're having fun now, but give it a
- 46:02Speaker 2: week and they are going to be cursing my name.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Yeah. I remember feeling that way too.
- 46:07Speaker 4: I was like, Oh God, But, you know, and you
- 46:09Speaker 4: also find yourself looking for the familiarity of what you
- 46:12Speaker 4: have with your own family.
- 46:13Speaker 3: So that was one of those things too.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Like I was watching the interaction with the women and
- 46:18Speaker 4: their family and being like, okay. You know, like I
- 46:21Speaker 4: think Kelly Jo and her family, I probably related the
- 46:25Speaker 4: most to that dynamic. Just like this fun, loud, messing
- 46:30Speaker 4: with each other, you know, situation. And then I really,
- 46:35Speaker 4: you know, I really navigated to the kindness side. that
- 46:39Speaker 4: Estella showed her mother and, and the, and how gentle
- 46:43Speaker 4: she was with her mom and how caring. And so I,
- 46:47Speaker 4: I mean, and it's, it's interesting, you know, as we
- 46:50Speaker 4: go through this, you know, to, to get where we,
- 46:53Speaker 4: where we get on this whole thing, but also, you know,
- 46:55Speaker 4: I was just blown away by, you know, the kindness of,
- 46:58Speaker 4: of Mary's family and how they welcomed me in, even
- 47:02Speaker 4: though there was a language barrier and, you know, there
- 47:04Speaker 4: was that. And then, And then same with Meredith's family.
- 47:07Speaker 4: Like I said, you know, they go through this family
- 47:09Speaker 4: trauma while this big, huge things happening in her life.
- 47:12Speaker 4: And then they opened their doors to me and are
- 47:14Speaker 4: kind and sweet. And it wasn't even about that. We hardly,
- 47:17Speaker 4: they didn't want to talk about it. They're like, you know,
- 47:19Speaker 4: it happens.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Life happens. I'm like, wow, they're so resilient, you know?
- 47:23Speaker 4: So you, you know, it was interesting to go through
- 47:24Speaker 4: that and look back on it, you know, with different lens.
- 47:29Speaker 2: For me, I had this incredible Amanda Stans family. They're,
- 47:33Speaker 2: beautiful and wonderful. And the two kids running around, I
- 47:35Speaker 2: had Lauren Bushnell's family, who is wildly successful and had
- 47:40Speaker 2: this beautifully big home in Oregon. And it was nothing
- 47:46Speaker 2: but spectacular. The family was close. The dad is super successful.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Then I went to Kayla Quinn's, whose dad's the CEO
- 47:53Speaker 2: of like the third largest toy maker in the country.
- 47:56Speaker 2: And then I went to Jojo's home in Dallas. That
- 47:58Speaker 2: is literally a castle. And both brothers are successful entrepreneurs.
- 48:03Speaker 2: The dad is a gastroenterologist, I think, and one of
- 48:07Speaker 2: the most well-respected in all of Dallas. I was like, oh,
- 48:11Speaker 2: and then they said, what do you do? And I
- 48:12Speaker 2: was like, well, currently, I don't know if I have
- 48:14Speaker 2: a job. But before, I'm making minimum wage selling a
- 48:19Speaker 2: software that probably won't exist in five years, and I
- 48:22Speaker 2: have no great outlook. But yes, you should definitely say, okay,
- 48:27Speaker 2: blessings on you.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Are you hiring? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 2: So if I do this thing, do you think there's
- 48:33Speaker 2: a job opportunity?
- 48:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it could be a get a ring and a job.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Bob, any last thoughts here on the breakdown of episodes four, five,
- 48:41Speaker 2: and six of your time as The Bachelor?
- 48:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Like I said, I don't think I was able to
- 48:52Speaker 4: fully watch these episodes when I was going through it
- 48:56Speaker 4: or if I, if I was able to, um, I
- 48:58Speaker 4: was watching it with a lot of distractions because I,
- 49:00Speaker 4: you know, obviously watching it now.
- 49:02Speaker 3: I'm, I'm, I'm able to like really focus on it.
- 49:05Speaker 4: And a lot of things, um, I remember differently than
- 49:09Speaker 4: how I'm seeing them play out. Um, but I, I
- 49:14Speaker 4: will say, you know, it's, um, knowing obviously how the
- 49:18Speaker 4: next three episodes are for me um from my personal
- 49:22Speaker 4: experience i mean not how we're going to see them
- 49:24Speaker 4: on tv but i do think that um it's humbling
- 49:30Speaker 4: you know it's it's really humbling to watch these um
- 49:34Speaker 4: remembering how I think I felt so comfortable in.
- 49:37Speaker 3: That role and how I thought, Oh, you know, I'm, I'm, I'm.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Going to be honest and I'm going to be caring
- 49:43Speaker 4: and I'm going to, you know, and I'm watching it.
- 49:45Speaker 4: And I think I am all of those things, but,
- 49:48Speaker 4: you know, I can see why some people would interpret
- 49:50Speaker 4: it differently. And I can definitely see some things I
- 49:54Speaker 4: could have done better. Some things I could have, certainly
- 49:58Speaker 4: handle myself in a different way. And I probably would
- 50:01Speaker 4: have today. But you know, I remember the one of
- 50:03Speaker 4: the main things that was a big part of me
- 50:05Speaker 4: doing the show, because I didn't want to be the
- 50:07Speaker 4: bachelor when they first asked me and I was like, No,
- 50:09Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 50:10Speaker 3: You know, I'm the lovable loser from Trista season. This
- 50:12Speaker 3: is great, you know.
- 50:14Speaker 4: And then I finally, you know, decided to do it.
- 50:16Speaker 4: But the biggest thing was I never, because my father
- 50:19Speaker 4: was such a pillar in our community. And where I
- 50:22Speaker 4: grew up and my mom, you know, and I never
- 50:25Speaker 4: wanted them to be embarrassed by my actions, you know,
- 50:28Speaker 4: and I never wanted them to, you know, because my
- 50:31Speaker 4: dad's name was Bob Guinea too.
- 50:32Speaker 3: And so, you know, for me, I just didn't want
- 50:34Speaker 3: that name to carry.
- 50:35Speaker 4: All of a sudden a bad, you know, a bad
- 50:38Speaker 4: connotation or anything. And I feel like, you know, watching
- 50:42Speaker 4: it back, I definitely, I did okay there, but, you know,
- 50:46Speaker 4: in watching it, I'm sort of like, God, you know,
- 50:49Speaker 4: I didn't know how this thing was going.
- 50:50Speaker 2: To age again.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:52Speaker 2: You know, you've got some Riz, Bob, let me give
- 50:55Speaker 2: you that. You did all right. You're perfect for this
- 50:59Speaker 2: and lovable and kind. And it's continued with you to today.
- 51:04Speaker 2: There's your questions asked at some point, your boys are
- 51:06Speaker 2: going to watch and be like, goodness gracious. Dad is
- 51:08Speaker 2: a stud.
- 51:09Speaker 3: I don't know. Grayson, I think I'll have some notes,
- 51:13Speaker 3: you know, I've got notes, right?
- 51:16Speaker 2: That'd be even better.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 51:18Speaker 4: I will say this, you know, it is funny watching
- 51:20Speaker 4: my kids now. I have a seven-year-old and a five-year-old
- 51:23Speaker 4: and watching my seven-year-old at a high school football game, talking,
- 51:28Speaker 4: he's seven, talking up a bunch of seventh grade cheerleaders.
- 51:32Speaker 4: And I'm just like, what is going on?
- 51:34Speaker 2: I think you should know exactly what's going on. Yeah,
- 51:37Speaker 2: he is you.
- 51:38Speaker 3: He is me.
- 51:39Speaker 4: I mean, he is the guy that like, just, you know,
- 51:41Speaker 4: hi ladies. You know, he's telling a story and he's,
- 51:44Speaker 4: and they're laughing. And I'm like, oh my God, this
- 51:46Speaker 4: kid is like, he's way better than I ever was,
- 51:49Speaker 4: but you know, it is interesting. Like I said, it's,
- 51:52Speaker 4: it's humbling to watch such a huge point in our lives. And,
- 52:00Speaker 4: and realize, I mean, I'm, I mean, I was watching
- 52:02Speaker 4: my whole life change, you know, now that I look
- 52:04Speaker 4: back and I'm like, wow, I remember coming off that
- 52:06Speaker 4: show going, Oh my God, what did I do? And
- 52:09Speaker 4: it was like, you know, now it's like all these
- 52:11Speaker 4: other things that have happened as a result of that experience.
- 52:15Speaker 4: And it's pretty humbling. It's pretty magical. So really nice
- 52:22Speaker 4: to get to watch it back. So I appreciate that
- 52:24Speaker 4: we're doing this.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fun for me too. I've enjoyed every second
- 52:27Speaker 2: of it. I know listeners, you are as well. It's
- 52:31Speaker 2: fun to reminisce and it's also fun to watch a
- 52:33Speaker 2: season that is so well done. Again, we're watching this
- 52:36Speaker 2: on Tubi. You can go and Watch it for free

- 52:52Speaker 2: back soon breaking down the rest of the episodes, episodes seven, eight,
- 52:59Speaker 2: and nine. Actually, yeah, seven, eight, and nine will be
- 53:02Speaker 2: kind of the end of this. Also, Bob and I
- 53:04Speaker 2: will be on The Bachelor Nation cruise at sea If
