- 2:18Dayna Roselli: They voted Tracy.
- 2:19Dayna Roselli: Tracy.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: Targeted tax relief.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: She's the best.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: She does them year after year.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: Um, also, you know, we've got folks from Atlanta, Georgia, Texas, Colorado, the Carolinas.

- 3:03Sean McAllister: So if you want us to uh know who it's from, be sure to say, hey, this is from Paul, this is from Sandy, this is from Ken.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: And by the way, the weather in Vegas has been wonderful.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: I know sometimes we start by talking about the weather, but it's always worth noting.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: It's been just absolutely beautiful here, just perfect.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: And you know, I've had to spend some time in New York recently, and I just realize more and more Vegas, just the sunshine really helps keep your mood lifted.
- 3:30Sean McAllister: It really does.
- 3:32Sean McAllister: Back there in the Great Lakes.
- 3:34Sean McAllister: I know anybody who lives in that whole area of the country knows like that winter gloom, it just stays there for months.
- 3:42Sean McAllister: And a dose of vitamin D.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: You do, you really do.
- 3:45Dayna Roselli: And I see some of my friends even on Facebook from back home saying, I just want like a day where I can go on a walk outside.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: And it's like sometimes those winters can feel so long.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: So shout out to all of our listeners on the East Coast, come visit us here in Las Vegas.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: Even if it's 50 degrees and sunny, it's nice.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: You know, it's chilly, but But when you're here, the sun just feels 10 degrees warmer.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: It's it's nice.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: Oh, we went over and did a sit-down interview with Dita von Tees.
- 4:14Dayna Roselli: Now, we have told you in the past that we've talked to Dita at events and stuff.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: We always enjoy her, but we finally got a chance to sit down and interview with her.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: And we just loved it.
- 4:24Dayna Roselli: We really did, didn't we?
- 4:25Sean McAllister: But she is one of those people where you're like, you know what?
- 4:29Sean McAllister: I just want you to be my friend.
- 4:31Sean McAllister: It's just so cool and down to earth, easy to talk to.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: She's fantastic.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: And then there's like, she's also like, you know, glamorous, which is kind of all going on.
- 4:40Dayna Roselli: You know, and Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: Now, sometimes we see new ideas come to life, sometimes we see old ones go away.
- 4:49Dayna Roselli: And then often, and I feel like more so lately, it's kind of been like a mix of both.
- 4:54Sean McAllister: It really has been.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: New and old coming together, right?
- 4:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, because Dina Von Teet, you know, as you mentioned, is the queen of burlesque and she's been doing strip teams since like 1992.
- 5:05Sean McAllister: Um, but now she's bringing the worlds of burlesque and show girls together.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: It she has this like sense of elegance and sophistication in her show at Voltaire.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: John and I saw the show, I'd say a few months ago now, and we really enjoyed it.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: You're not gonna hear a word.
- 5:23Dayna Roselli: It's music and visuals.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: And what a night, though, to sit back, have a cocktail in the beautiful showroom of Voltaire at the Venetian, and you know, going to a show that starts at you know nine-ish and just enjoying an evening out.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: It feels so old school Vegas, but like we just mentioned, but also very new.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: Very new.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: And we did.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: We loved it so much, so we thought, you know what, we really need to arrange a sit-down with Dita to talk about all the things that we personally loved so much, and so that you could hear directly from her, like where all the inspiration, the passion for all of this comes from.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we're doing a visual piece where she takes us backstage and everything on our television show, our Vegas Reveal television show.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: And that will be on our YouTube eventually.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: But we wanted to play this whole sit-down interview for you because it is so interesting.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: We talk everything from costumes, burlesque, showgirls, liberace, um, just, you know, everything and and how Dita likes performing in Vegas.
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: She is right now scheduled to be at Voltaire through May.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: So we went over, sat down with her, and wanted to share that interview with you.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: First of all, we saw the show.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: We absolutely loved it.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: How are you enjoying being in this theater and doing this show late night?
- 6:46SPEAKER_05: I mean, I love doing this show.
- 6:48SPEAKER_05: I love being here, I love being in the Venetian.
- 6:51SPEAKER_05: It's just like um, you know, we get a lot of walk-up people that walk up and see the show, which I love that people have maybe never seen my show before but heard about me.
- 7:00SPEAKER_05: So we get a lot of that kind of um audience members, and it's a beautiful room.
- 7:05SPEAKER_05: I mean, look at it, it's very glamorous.
- 7:08SPEAKER_05: Um, there's it's probably the most intimate room I've ever done with my shows because usually when I'm on tour, I do like the big grand theaters, and so it's kind of fun to have the runway, which you know, the runway was invented for burlesque in the 1930s, so it's kind of like you know, full circle.
- 7:26SPEAKER_05: People don't think about that.
- 7:27SPEAKER_05: They think about fashion and runways, but it's very burlesque to have the runway.
- 7:31SPEAKER_05: And when you walked in this room, were you like yeah, I mean, it's a beautiful room, right?
- 7:36SPEAKER_05: I knew and I love the 1930s reference.
- 7:39SPEAKER_05: I actually know the movie that the inspiration was taken from.
- 7:43SPEAKER_05: So I'm like, oh, it's like a it's like an art deco jewel box.
- 7:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: Being in Vegas, you've been, you know, here and there for so many years.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: What do you what do you like about doing a show here, being part of things here, projects?
- 7:57SPEAKER_05: Well, I've only come into Vegas like on my tours.
- 7:59SPEAKER_05: It was like one of the stops, and it's always been difficult.
- 8:02SPEAKER_05: Or I've done the crazy horse where La Femme, it was called La Femme back, you know, the Crazy Horse Paris was called La Femme here in Vegas at MGM, which has been long gone.
- 8:10SPEAKER_05: Um, so I've just like dipped in over the years, and this is the first time the last I guess year and a half that I've spent significant time here.
- 8:18SPEAKER_05: And I I really like it because it's I still live in LA and I can kind of like go back and forth pretty easily.
- 8:24SPEAKER_05: And you know, I like having the presence here.
- 8:27SPEAKER_05: I like being able there's so much more I can do on stage in a show like this than I can do on tour, for instance.
- 8:34SPEAKER_05: You know, it's very like it always has to be very focused in when I'm on tour, but being here, and it is like the ultimate there's no other like showgirl style review in Vegas.
- 8:44SPEAKER_05: There's a lot of burlesque shows, but there's nothing that has the authentic real showgirl costumes in it.
- 8:50SPEAKER_05: So I'm very proud of that.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: And when I came to the show, I don't know what I was expecting.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: I guess I knew there wouldn't be like verbal, you know, like anyone talking.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: But I I guess it didn't like when I was sitting there, I was thinking, oh yeah, I forgot.
- 9:02SPEAKER_05: But I I kind of really liked that.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: I like the flow, and honestly, like for so many for so long I've had a host of my show, but for some reason this time I felt like I just wanted it to flow and shift and um not have like the interruption of like somebody talking.
- 9:18SPEAKER_05: And also I tend to want to pivot from what other people do, and there's a lot of like variety shows, and they all they have a host, you know, usually male, you know, they have a host, and I think I just wanted it to feel like you know, I'm I'm still the host of the show.
- 9:33SPEAKER_05: It is my life's work on stage, but I don't think you have to always come out and like crack jokes, and I'm I'm definitely not a verbal host.
- 9:40SPEAKER_05: You know, a lot shy.
- 9:42SPEAKER_05: And I think that's maybe what I liked about it because I feel like sometimes it's forced.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: Everyone does think you need to have a host.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but your show just it just flowed, like you said, and you just felt I felt glamorous watching it because there wasn't these interruptions of a host and reading for this shtick, you know.
- 9:56SPEAKER_05: It was it's it's for me, I just think like it was a risk, and it was something I have never really done in my shows, although I've been part of shows that are like that that are nonverbal, and I really like how it feels.
- 10:08SPEAKER_05: I feel like it's just a celebration of beauty and glamour and sensuality, and you don't need somebody coming out cracking jokes.
- 10:16SPEAKER_05: And I feel like I feel like our audience brings the energy that, you know, and they encourage others to be energetic about like how they react to things, you know.
- 10:26SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't think you need somebody to like get everybody fired up.
- 10:31SPEAKER_05: I'd rather it's a little I'd rather it's a little bit more difficult to get that.
- 10:35SPEAKER_05: It's like kind of an easy thing to throw a host out there and tell them to like get people riled up for the show.
- 10:40SPEAKER_05: It's a different thing when you're like, we're just gonna do it.
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: I I loved it.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: And how how do you how do you decide what you want to do?
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, because I'm sure you have so many different things you've done through the years.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: How are you like the this is perfect for Vegas?
- 10:54SPEAKER_05: Well, I mean, I there's I was thinking when you said that, I thought, well, how do I decide the numbers?
- 10:58SPEAKER_05: Because it's a lot of my acts that I've done for the last 25 years, and it was hard for me to choose like what do I want to do versus what do I want someone else to do.
- 11:07SPEAKER_05: And there's some things that I was like, oh, if I don't have to get my hair wet in this show, like the birdcage number that you see in it.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: I was like, Oh, I'd be really glad if I don't have to get my hair wet every night.
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: So I was happy to like put a few things on other people, like some of the things that are maybe more like um yeah, challenging, like that.
- 11:24SPEAKER_05: Things that I normally would do on my tour, and I'd be like, Oh, I'd have it all figured out of my hair.
- 11:29SPEAKER_05: Um But yeah, I mean I there's still some things that I would love to.
- 11:33SPEAKER_05: The beauty of this place is that I can put some of my other numbers into it, or I do fantasize about um, you know, switching it around and and pe surprising people, and I'll do things that I hadn't done before in the show before.
- 11:45SPEAKER_05: You know, I love that.
- 11:46SPEAKER_05: And you can do whatever you want to do.
- 11:49SPEAKER_05: That's the point.
- 11:50SPEAKER_05: I can almost do whatever you want.
- 11:51SPEAKER_05: I'm sure you've heard about this um thing called time code.
- 11:53SPEAKER_05: I think Britney Spears complains about it in her book too, but there's a thing called time code in in Vegas, especially, with all the lights and the music go together, and it was she complains about how she couldn't change anything in her show or sing songs she wanted to because of the time code.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: I've never heard of that.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: I've never heard of that.
- 12:12SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 12:12SPEAKER_05: It's like really like she talks about in her book about how she's trying to get permission to change the time code that it costs money to bring in the time code.
- 12:20SPEAKER_05: And I was like, Yes, Brittany, yeah.
- 12:22SPEAKER_05: I know how you feel.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: Um, what about the costumes?
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: How did you get these costumes and and and how important it is is it for you to have these costumes in this show?
- 12:34SPEAKER_05: Well, when I first went over, when I was first opened the show at the Jubilee Theater, um, you know, I was standing in the theater and they wanted me to just bring my regular touring show there.
- 12:43SPEAKER_05: And I said to um, I said to the Caesars Entertainment owns, you know, the costumes in that that venue.
- 12:50SPEAKER_05: And I said, Well, I mean, I loved Jubilee.
- 12:54SPEAKER_05: I watched it, it was my favorite show when I came to Vegas.
- 12:56SPEAKER_05: And I said, What happened to all the costumes and everything?
- 12:59SPEAKER_05: And he goes, Oh, they're downstairs.
- 13:00SPEAKER_05: We don't know what to do with it.
- 13:01SPEAKER_05: They've just been locked up.
- 13:02SPEAKER_05: And I said, I have an idea of what we should do with it.
- 13:04SPEAKER_05: We need to bring it back, you know, curate a selection and and bring it back in a new way.
- 13:10SPEAKER_05: Um, like I have Showboys wearing the feathers as well, which, you know, it's it's a risque choice for some people, but I just felt like I wanted to update and merge what I do as a burlesque performer with a tribute to classic showgirl.
- 13:26SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's not a classic showgirl review because certainly there were huge parameters, and respectfully, you know, showgirls are very there's a huge point of difference between burlesque and what I do and showgirls, but I loved the idea of kind of modernizing the showgirl.
- 13:41SPEAKER_05: So yeah, so it was um I'm very grateful to to uh Caesars Entertainment for letting me use these costumes for the last you know year going on.
- 13:51SPEAKER_05: And you'll see um the costumes were made by Pete Menifee and Bob Mackey, and they were made for Jubilee, which ran for like 41 years almost, and I love that show.
- 14:02SPEAKER_05: So we have a big Bob Mackey finale.
- 14:04SPEAKER_05: I just kind of curated a selection of those things, and um, I'm just they're they're so beautiful, and you know, there'll never really be a time again where people will spend that much money for feathers and rhinestones, you know.
- 14:16SPEAKER_05: It's just like it's it's you know, when you read the stats about building those costumes or building a show like that, it was the equivalent of like the highest budget shows in Las Vegas were the show girl reviews.
- 14:28SPEAKER_05: So I don't know if it'll ever be like that again.
- 14:31Dayna Roselli: Well, I was gonna say when I was watching your show, I thought I've never seen this much sparkle.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: Like you see sparkle, but like it's some major sparkle in your show.
- 14:39SPEAKER_05: Well so good.
- 14:41SPEAKER_05: It is.
- 14:41SPEAKER_05: I mean, I have due pride myself in that.
- 14:43SPEAKER_05: My costumes are at the Swarovski Museum in Austria, and um you do note you can notice some of the vintage costumes, and then when you see some of the things I wear, you're it hurts your eyes almost.
- 14:55SPEAKER_05: Um, because the cuts, the cuts of the crystal, the Swarovski crystal have evolved so much in the last 40 years since those vintage costumes were made.
- 15:03SPEAKER_05: But you see the glitz, but then you go, whoa, the modern crystal is crazy.
- 15:07SPEAKER_05: So yeah, I mean I I'm I I don't think anybody can outglitz me in the whole world, actually, when it comes to costumes.
- 15:14SPEAKER_05: Dita cannot be out glitzed.
- 15:15SPEAKER_05: I can't be out glitzed.
- 15:16SPEAKER_05: You can try.
- 15:18SPEAKER_05: Sometimes people, I'll show you when we go back there.
- 15:20SPEAKER_05: But you know, sometimes people will have my costumes in like a box or a band, and somebody will pick it up like a guy, I know whatever.
- 15:26SPEAKER_05: Be like, what is in here?
- 15:27SPEAKER_05: It's like rocks.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: And I was like, Well, that's one of my costumes.
- 15:30SPEAKER_05: I'm wearing that all at once.
- 15:32SPEAKER_05: You know, quite heavy.
- 15:34SPEAKER_05: I can't believe it.
- 15:35SPEAKER_05: But I love it.
- 15:36SPEAKER_05: I love the extravagance and the decadence, and um, you know, I don't ever cheap out on my costumes as you should not.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: Good, you can tell.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: And you helped a little bit with uh the last showgirl that's out right now.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: I know you what lended the song.
- 15:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, well, what happened was is they came to me when I was first building the show, and they um Gia Coppola came to me and they the whole team came to see the show multiple times.
- 16:01SPEAKER_05: Pam came to see the show, and they hired my dancers for many of the scenes, like the showgirl scenes, and they also use the costumes, many of the things that are in my show.
- 16:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_05: So fun.
- 16:12SPEAKER_05: And it's doing so well.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, it's you can tell people are interested in it.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: And you know, I mean, do you ever feel like I mean I don't feel like it's ever gone away, but that there is a little bit of a resurgence where people want to be around that type of um, I don't know what to say, lifestyle again, but like, you know, that kind of feeling.
- 16:29SPEAKER_05: I think it's, you know, I'm personally loved the showgirl and the history of the showgirl in Paris and Vegas because they were very like intertwined.
- 16:38SPEAKER_05: Um, if don't get me started, I can talk about like showgirl history and and again like the the differences between burlesque history and showgirl history.
- 16:46SPEAKER_05: And I think like the thing that makes me sad is that there isn't an authentic showgirl review in Vegas any anymore.
- 16:54SPEAKER_05: Or in Paris, there's it's gone.
- 16:55SPEAKER_05: Like the Leto Paris is gone, everything is gone.
- 16:58SPEAKER_05: And you know, I loved the rituals and the the rules of the showgirl and the way that they move a certain way, and there's a lot of like parameters, in fact, which I kind of love, but I also love burlesque because it's more, it's it's like a very empowering and decisive thing.
- 17:15SPEAKER_05: Like, yes, we aren't afraid to make eye contact and to do things that are a little bit more like risque or seductive, whereas the showgirl was very much about the decorum, and I respect that and I love what the showgirl stood for.
- 17:28SPEAKER_05: So I'm personally sad that the showgirl does not exist in Las Vegas anymore.
- 17:32SPEAKER_05: And I'm not even gonna say that the showgirl exists on my stage, although my version of the showgirl exists here, and there is nothing like it in Las Vegas or anywhere in the world.
- 17:41SPEAKER_05: So I'm proud of that, but I do like to make sure I give reverence to showgirl history and not claim that I'm doing what they did, you know, because I respect them so much.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: What about the evening show?
- 17:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, that that's actually rare.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: People kept I noticed through the years, people kept moving shows up earlier and earlier in Las Vegas.
- 17:58Dayna Roselli: So I love that you're after nine.
- 18:00SPEAKER_05: I love the nine o'clock.
- 18:01SPEAKER_05: We start at nine o'clock sharp.
- 18:03SPEAKER_05: I love sharpish, you know.
- 18:05SPEAKER_05: We like to make sure people get their seats, but I like the nine o'clock because I think when I go to see a show, I don't want to sit and watch a show when I'm starving.
- 18:12SPEAKER_05: I want to have dinner first.
- 18:14SPEAKER_05: So um that's why we chose to to have the show at nine o'clock.
- 18:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I like that.
- 18:18SPEAKER_05: I think it's great.
- 18:19SPEAKER_05: It's so good.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: So what are when we go back?
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: So the quick change is interesting.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: We're gonna, I know we're gonna look at that, but um I've always wondered, and I'm excited to see what how fast and what the process is.
- 18:29SPEAKER_05: Do people help you?
- 18:31SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 18:31SPEAKER_05: We have like there's certain things that I can go real slow on, I can take my time on.
- 18:35SPEAKER_05: I have to do a lot of my dressing myself because putting on stockings, hooking them, the corsets, all the way that the strip tease happens.
- 18:42SPEAKER_05: I can't have somebody else doing the important bits because you know, if I get stuck, I don't want to blame anyone but myself, you know.
- 18:49SPEAKER_05: Um so there's things that are quite changed, but I want to show you like some of the costumes up close.
- 18:53SPEAKER_05: I have all the beautiful Bob Mackey headdresses back there, and I would love to show some of them to you and show you how heavy they are and yeah, it's really, it's really for me.
- 19:03SPEAKER_05: Um I'm very like, you know, turned on to the vintage style costumes and how amazing they were built and how they're still looking beautiful on the stage today, you know.
- 19:15SPEAKER_05: So cool.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: Is there something like this in LA, or should people that are watching from Southern California um come see this show and kind of why?
- 19:23SPEAKER_05: There's nothing like this in LA or anywhere else in the world.
- 19:27SPEAKER_05: I think I, if I may say, I know that you know, mine is the biggest burlesque show in history.
- 19:32SPEAKER_05: There's not really another burlesque show quite like this, and there's no other show like it in the world.
- 19:38SPEAKER_05: There's no showgirl review.
- 19:39SPEAKER_05: So and I when I before I came to Vegas a lot, I used to think, oh, it's so hard to get to Vegas, and now it's so I find it so easy because I go back and forth all the time.
- 19:49SPEAKER_05: So definitely don't miss the chance to see this um here in Las Vegas because it can never really go on tour.
- 19:54SPEAKER_05: These costumes would take up a semi-truck alone.
- 19:57SPEAKER_05: True.
- 19:57SPEAKER_05: So um it's really like I and I like that you have to come for the Vegas experience to really see all of this stuff.
- 20:04SPEAKER_05: Yes, certainly I go on tour.
- 20:05SPEAKER_05: I do uh a New Year's Eve gala in Los Angeles every year, but it's totally different than the show.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: Is it important for even people when they come?
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: I'm sure you encourage everyone to dress up.
- 20:14SPEAKER_05: I mean, one of the nice things that people love about coming to my shows in general is they make an evening of it.
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: Like you can come dress to the nines, people come in tuxedos and evening gowns.
- 20:25SPEAKER_05: You don't have to, but what a great like moment to do it.
- 20:29SPEAKER_05: And it creates a really lovely atmosphere in the room.
- 20:32SPEAKER_05: And people do it all over the world.
- 20:34SPEAKER_05: Like it's one of the things people notice at my shows, whether it's in London or Australia or Paris, is the crowd is is um is like a you know, fashionable vintage-styled crowd, and they they love it.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: It's just a fun thing to be able to engage in being part of creating the scene.
- 20:50SPEAKER_05: And who doesn't want to play dress up once in a while?
- 20:52SPEAKER_05: You should see the compliments you get when you dress up in Las Vegas.
- 20:56Sean McAllister: And there's an obvious nod to show girls with the costumes and everything, but um, what about the nod to liberacci that you include?
- 21:04SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 21:04SPEAKER_05: Well, I knew when I came to Las Vegas for the the first time, I was like, I love liberacci.
- 21:10SPEAKER_05: One of my other favorite things to do in Las Vegas was going to the Liberace Museum, which is now um a small private museum that you can still go to.
- 21:18SPEAKER_05: Um, but I loved the Liberacci Museum.
- 21:20SPEAKER_05: I never missed a chance to go there.
- 21:22SPEAKER_05: And and I love liberaci.
- 21:24SPEAKER_05: He was like a funny, like a funny guy and a funny phenomenon of someone who, you know, me and my my co-creator Catherine Delish, we bonded on this like love of liberacci and his thing that was basically out in how much you know about him, but he was he was a a pianist, but he kept like every he would do something different.
- 21:43SPEAKER_05: Like he wore a white coat, which usually they wore black, and everyone went crazy.
- 21:47SPEAKER_05: The press talked about him.
- 21:48SPEAKER_05: So he kept like one upping himself.
- 21:50SPEAKER_05: So I always made this vow with my friend Catherine that we were gonna like raise the bar on burlesque.
- 21:55SPEAKER_05: Every time we created a new costume or a new act, it was gonna become more extravagant.
- 21:59SPEAKER_05: So I love Libra.
- 22:01SPEAKER_05: If you film me at the Uly, you might remember I drove the car in the feed.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: I bought a car in the field and covered it with the case.
- 22:10SPEAKER_05: I can't drive the car in feed here.
- 22:12SPEAKER_05: It was a big negotiation.
- 22:13SPEAKER_05: I really tried.
- 22:15SPEAKER_05: We do have a labragi interview in here.
- 22:18SPEAKER_05: And one of my favorite famous female Berlin performers plays LeVrage and I played away the cave.
- 22:27SPEAKER_05: And we have a little moment that it's just a big like fun, you know, nonsensical Liberachi glamour moment with the showboys and the colour.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: Well we love the show.
- 22:37SPEAKER_05: We're having you here.
- 22:38SPEAKER_05: Are you gonna you plan on staying for looking?
- 22:41SPEAKER_05: We have days through May right now, but I'm I'm looking in and seeing if I'm gonna go a little longer past that.
- 22:47SPEAKER_05: But um I love being here.
- 22:49SPEAKER_05: I love my crew cast and my crew so much, and it's just like delightful.
- 22:54Dayna Roselli: I loved how honest she was.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: You know, and and you just tell, I was so comfortable interviewing her because I felt like she just answered right away.
- 23:03Dayna Roselli: She was she didn't have to overthink anything.
- 23:05Dayna Roselli: I mean, she's the real deal.
- 23:07Sean McAllister: Well, and she is just so confident in herself, in her craft.
- 23:12Sean McAllister: I mean, she is top-notch.
- 23:15Sean McAllister: Love Dita Von Tees.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: And I know we're not supposed to comment on people's looks, but I mean, she is gorgeous and flawless in person.
- 23:22Dayna Roselli: Let me tell you.
- 23:23Sean McAllister: Yes, she is indeed.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: Well, she did take us backstage, and again, we will put that on our YouTube channel.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: We have a Vegas revealed YouTube channel.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: We put all our video segments on there, and then our full shows that run on TV here in Las Vegas on Fox Five.
- 23:37Dayna Roselli: So feel free to look for that shortly.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: Um, I think you'll really enjoy visually seeing what happens, and we'll put stuff on our social too.
- 23:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, without a doubt.
- 23:47Sean McAllister: Uh, something else we think you might really enjoy is a new cinematic experience here in Las Vegas.
- 23:54Sean McAllister: You've heard us talk here before about like dive-in movie series that some casinos do where you splish splash in the pool and watch the film.
- 24:03Sean McAllister: Uh, other times when in the winter, when there's ice skating rinks, there's uh films that that are shown under the stars too.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: Well, there is a new film experience that's happening over at Area 15, and this one is really, really tasty.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: It's called Fork and Film.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: The experience is being billed as a culinary as culinary cinema, basically.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: So, what does that mean?
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Well, I think you're really gonna like this.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: And you're gonna want to go over there after this.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: You listen to this, because we went over and and in interviewed the founders.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: Um, and again, this is at Area 15.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: So we talk with the founders who thought this idea up, and it's really interesting to hear how they thought it up and where it's gone from there.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: Listen.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: So, Fork and Film is an immersive culinary experience where we recreate dishes exactly from the movie and serve them as you see them on screen.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: So, some of your favorite nostalgic movies and your favorite characters eating those dishes, you're able to try them as at the same time that they're eating them.
- 25:02SPEAKER_03: And how do you decide what films to pick?
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: We picked the films based off of nostalgia.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I mean, these are movies that we grew up with and that we love, and we want to bring people back into the cinema because you know, cinema took a big hit during the pandemic.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: So we started as a pop-up, actually um on the rooftop of my apartment.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: We put it on for a few friends and a few influencers, and after the first time, it just blew up, went viral on TikTok.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: Um, but now we generally have residencies and um in all the cities that we're in.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: We mostly partners uh partner with hotels.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: So area 15 is super different than our other venues, and we're very excited about this one.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: It's just so unique.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: Um but we're here to stay.
- 25:38SPEAKER_03: So Nick and I will choose the movie, we'll create the menu, come up with our ideas, and then we have an executive chef that helps us create those into food moments with all of the ingredients, and then she shares them with our amazing on-site chef.
- 25:49SPEAKER_03: So we have an amazing chef, chef Rain here in Area 15, and she executes all the uh recipes that our executive chef hands off to her.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Ratatouille is a great menu.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: Um so it's French themed.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: We start off with a trash can salad.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: So Remy and the rats are rummaging through the trash can, and you get to rummage through the trash can as well.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: Um, then when Remy is cooking the soup, uh he's he's stirring the stoop, he's throwing some ingredients in there.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: We bring out um a small little tiny soup pot, and you get to make your own soup while Remy is making the soup.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: Uh we also have some rat poison, and no rats were harmed in the making of this, but we do have some rat poison with um with a rat trap and dry ice, it looks great, and then at the end, um, what the movie is named after Ratatouille, we have Ratatouille, and it looks exactly how it looks on screen when the critic ego is eating the ratatouille.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 26:37Dayna Roselli: How about eating the food along with it?
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: What's the reaction to that?
- 26:40SPEAKER_03: I think my most favorite reaction is watching them see it on screen and then they lift up their plate and they're like, look, look, it's the same thing.
- 26:48unknown: Yeah.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: You just see like a um a sea of phones pop out.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Like as soon as uh the food comes on camera or comes on the on the screen, their cameras just come up to take the videos.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Popcorn is like the iconic movie food.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: Is popcorn a part of it?
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Yes, absolutely.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: I love popcorn.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: She got me a popcorn maker, it's one of our first gifts when we were first dating.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: Um so yes, there has to be popcorn.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: When you come in, you get popcorn and you get a glass of champagne before the movie starts.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Sit down, listen to some good music, and then each menu is about five to six food courses, and then two to three cocktails.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: So you'll leave full when you come.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: For March and April, uh, we have a few Disney classics.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: We have Mulan.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Um, we also have Alice in Wonderland, and then we have Monsters Inc.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and um, and then Coco.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Coco uh for May.
- 27:34Sean McAllister: Are there any uh movies or genres that are like off the table when it comes to a fork in film experience?
- 27:41SPEAKER_01: No, not at all.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, our our audience loves Disney movies.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: You know, we have a lot of Disney adults, but we do other movies too.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: Um, we do Mean Girls.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: We have Mean Girls coming up in a few uh weeks here, and we've done White Chicks.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: Um for Halloween we did Scream and we had scare actors dressed up like Scream, chasing people around.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: And then for Christmas, we did um a Christmas series for the office.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: So we do TV shows as well, so nothing's off limits.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: Really, just what a clever idea to you know have something that started with a group of friends on a rooftop and have it now here in Las Vegas and so many other cities.
- 28:16Sean McAllister: Uh, you can go to Fork in Film, that's F O R Kn Film.com, uh, to see the schedule and buy tickets.
- 28:26Sean McAllister: Uh, but we are told that they do sell out pretty frequently.
- 28:29Sean McAllister: So if this is something that you want to do, uh make sure you plan ahead, get those tickets so you don't miss out.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: We're gonna take a quick break.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: We'll be right back.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: If you've experienced a slip and fall, were injured in a place of business or on a construction site, call level up law.

- 29:09Dayna Roselli: Alright, let's do some tips.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: Okay, for tips, we are talking March Madness, and I'm gonna push over to Sean a little bit because I actually have never.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: This is one thing as a Vegas insider, I have not done.
- 29:23Sean McAllister: Dana.
- 29:24Dayna Roselli: March Madness.
- 29:25Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, it's so fun.
- 29:27Dayna Roselli: Now I have watched basketball games kind of leading up to well, I guess March Mad so March Madness is what?
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: Is it just the the four days, or is it is it like all of March?
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: Because I've definitely watched basketball leading up to the final four.
- 29:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, so this is like March 20th.
- 29:43Sean McAllister: Uh March it goes through the tournament goes through, I think April 7th, early April.
- 29:49Sean McAllister: Uh, but it starts.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: The crazy fun, exciting, non-stop, action-packed part is March 20th, 21st, and 22nd.
- 29:58Sean McAllister: That's a Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
- 30:00Sean McAllister: That's when the most games are being played.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: That's like you know, when you're filling out a bracket, both of the sides have all those teams to choose from.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: That's when these games are are being played.
- 30:12Sean McAllister: So it is action from morning until night, and multiple games going on, and it is just so fun to be around a group of people when all of these games are happening because you hear cheers from this part of the room for one game, and then the other part of the room for another, and then when there's something crazy going on, the entire room erupts.
- 30:34Sean McAllister: Um, so it's just so much fun, and there's no place that does it like Las Vegas.
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 30:42Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, there we always say this there are too many places to name.
- 30:46Sean McAllister: There are.
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: But um, I know you've experienced some.
- 30:49Dayna Roselli: We kind of go over this every other year.
- 30:51Dayna Roselli: But first of all, we got a press release uh this morning when we're recording this, um, talking about something happening over at the Palms.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: And so I wanted to just quickly mention that, and then you've got a bunch of other ones.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: But um, it's basketball bananza returning at the Palms.
- 31:05Dayna Roselli: And what I love about the Palms is it is just set off the strip.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: Um, and they do have the free parking, which is always nice.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: People like that, especially if they're gonna go spend the day somewhere because you're not, even as a local, when you go to some of these places, you get the three-hour time limit and that kind of thing.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: So it parking is free at the Palms, and there's free general admission daily to this event, which is March 20th to the 23rd.
- 31:30Dayna Roselli: Um, and they're transforming the Palms Pool actually into this basketball hub.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: I think Shane, your husband, went last year, and they do all these LED screens.
- 31:39Dayna Roselli: Um, they have the the live betting action, interactive games, DJs, food, drink specials, all that kind of thing.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: And so that's really different.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: I love the the outdoor aspect.
- 31:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, that is.
- 31:50Sean McAllister: That's really fun.
- 31:50Sean McAllister: And to have it poolside, I mean, uh, you know, all resorts are actually heating their their pools now, um, which is something that they didn't used to do.
- 32:00Sean McAllister: But uh, so yeah, you you're gonna be out in the sun.
- 32:03Sean McAllister: Great way to watch a game.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: Um, obviously, uh Circa Stadium Swim is another great spot to go and catch all the games because they have so many screens there.
- 32:14Sean McAllister: Um the Westgate does hoop central every year, where not only do is there a ton going on inside their huge sports book that they have at the property, but they turn the international theater into a sports viewing uh arena too.
- 32:32Sean McAllister: You know, and they have the betting stations, food stations, all the all that kind of stuff.
- 32:37Sean McAllister: Fountain Blue is uh doing uh a March Mania event this year as well.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: Um and I've watched it the South Point before.
- 32:47Sean McAllister: Uh for a few years went down.
- 32:49Sean McAllister: They turned their um big convention space into uh into a big viewing area.
- 32:55Sean McAllister: And I know uh Planet Hollywood I've been to in the years past.
- 32:59Sean McAllister: Um pretty much every property is going to have something going on, a big event.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: You a lot of times it's for uh players, um, like casino players.
- 33:10Dayna Roselli: Um now can you make like a game time decision like that day?
- 33:13Dayna Roselli: Like, oh let's go to a March Madness thing.
- 33:15Dayna Roselli: Or do you like have to book ahead?
- 33:18Sean McAllister: It's better to book ahead.
- 33:19Sean McAllister: It's better to book ahead, have a plan, know what you're gonna do, because otherwise it feels like you're just wandering around aimlessly trying to find something.
- 33:29Sean McAllister: And you don't want that.
- 33:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, you don't you want to know where you're going in the morning and plop down there and enjoy the entire day.
- 33:37Dayna Roselli: And you know, unconfirmed, but I have heard buzz on social media and do not know this because I was not out on the strip on Super Bowl weekend.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: People saying it was a little slower than normal.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: Super Bowl weekend.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: So I'm hoping March Madness will bring in a lot of people, like it usually does.
- 33:54Sean McAllister: I hope so because, you know, there's groups of friends that will come in and and gather here from, you know, if they're spread across the country, they'll all come here and meet to watch the the games.
- 34:07Sean McAllister: And that's a fun thing.
- 34:09Sean McAllister: So I hope that it is a a busy time because these games are so much more fun when there are a lot of people around.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: And I do remember whenever I'm out and about, like I remember I was at Caesars Palace one night heading to an event, and you hear all these screams from the sports book, and somebody upsets somebody, another team, and that's that's all.
- 34:28Dayna Roselli: But it was so funny because when I was home recently, my dad was like, turn on a game, I want to watch basketball.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, but it's like three o'clock in the middle of the day, and this was East Coast Town, you know.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: And I did notice there are games on regardless all the time.
- 34:40Sean McAllister: There are.
- 34:40Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, what?
- 34:41Dayna Roselli: There's like games all day long, college basketball.
- 34:44Dayna Roselli: Well, afternoon, evening.
- 34:46Dayna Roselli: So I was like, wow, I mean, you know, college basketball is a big deal.
- 34:50Dayna Roselli: Um, so and you know, I wonder because the Super Bowl, I feel like we had so much tragedy in January in the United States.
- 34:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you know, it was we had January was the plane crash, and we had what happened in New Orleans New Orleans and so many different things leading up to the yeah, the LA fires leading up to Super Bowl.
- 35:07Dayna Roselli: I wonder if people just decided to kind of hunker down and just say, you know, it could be.
- 35:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 35:12Dayna Roselli: I wonder.
- 35:12Dayna Roselli: Um, and I know a lot of people on the East Coast have the February recess and spring breaks coming up in March.
- 35:18Dayna Roselli: So we'll see.
- 35:18Dayna Roselli: Um, hopefully you can get out and enjoy though.
- 35:20Dayna Roselli: And like Sean said, plan ahead.
- 35:22Dayna Roselli: That's always the best option.
- 35:25Dayna Roselli: If you want to look up different places, hotel casinos, sports books, that kind of thing, you can download the Vegas Near Me app.
- 35:32Dayna Roselli: They have all the restaurants, all the different hours, locations, maps.
- 35:38Dayna Roselli: You can book a show.
- 35:39Dayna Roselli: If you're looking to come in and also go to a show that evening, uh Vegas Near Me is free to download.
- 35:44Dayna Roselli: You don't even have to put in your email.
- 35:46Dayna Roselli: And so we highly recommend it.
