- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for Back to the Basics in Healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Balanced Life Chiropractic. We're here with Dr. Harley and we're
- 0:05Speaker 1: working our way through the spine. What are we talking
- 0:06Speaker 1: about today?
- 0:07Speaker 2: We're on T9.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Holy cow. Seems like just last week was T8 and
- 0:11Speaker 1: here we are at T9 already. So what is the,
- 0:14Speaker 1: as we're going through, there's slight differences for all of them.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Are there anywhere there's like a major difference from this
- 0:18Speaker 1: one to that one?
- 0:20Speaker 2: I wouldn't say so. Our body's pretty well interconnected or
- 0:23Speaker 2: we kind of have backup systems in place for other ones.
- 0:26Speaker 2: So A lot of them do kind of interconnect, but
- 0:28Speaker 2: there's like, you know, this is like the main area
- 0:31Speaker 2: that we'll see.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:32Speaker 2: But, you know, yeah, they all kind of interconnect.
- 0:34Speaker 1: And T9, I see on here, adrenal and suprarenal glands.
- 0:39Speaker 1: What the heck does that mean?
- 0:40Speaker 2: So those are all the glands that sit above our kidney. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So our adrenals sit right on top of our kidneys,
- 0:45Speaker 2: and they're what produce adrenaline. Oh, wow.
- 0:48Speaker 1: So that's kind of cool. That's a good thing to know.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Right. Right.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And if you want, with this here, what are some
- 0:54Speaker 1: things that I will notice if I'm having issues with
- 0:56Speaker 1: my adrenal issues here?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we can see cortisol level issues. You can see
- 1:01Speaker 2: adrenal fatigue is becoming a more common thing that people
- 1:05Speaker 2: are learning about. Basically, it means you've been really stressed
- 1:09Speaker 2: out for a really long time and your body's exhausted.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 2: And you can start having like really weird symptoms and
- 1:14Speaker 2: you just can't seem like, you know, going from sitting
- 1:16Speaker 2: to standing, you start feeling more dizzy, lightheaded. Blood pressure
- 1:20Speaker 2: can drop in that same, because our adrenals are overworked
- 1:23Speaker 2: and exhausted.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Very good. And I'm seeing here, again, in T9, the
- 1:28Speaker 1: adrenal and suprarenal glands. Suprarenal, that is just weird. I've
- 1:32Speaker 1: never heard that before. Is that a common thing? Are
- 1:35Speaker 1: there a lot of issues in this area?
- 1:38Speaker 2: It's more the adrenal. They're all kind of like mixed
- 1:40Speaker 2: together with that, or you see kidney inflammation, that kind
- 1:44Speaker 2: of stuff.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And I see over here it could cause allergic reactions
- 1:46Speaker 1: or hives. So that is, is that common?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Right. So that's like the adrenaline, the histamine reactions also
- 1:53Speaker 2: come from that area. So if you're overstressed out, your
- 1:57Speaker 2: immune system is going to be super hyped, super overstimulated.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And that's where we see allergic reactions, unless you're actually
- 2:04Speaker 2: allergic to like peanuts or something like that. But if you're,
- 2:07Speaker 2: you know, walking outside and suddenly you're like, oh, I
- 2:09Speaker 2: just got hit with like, you know, major inflammation swelling.
- 2:12Speaker 2: You're like, I didn't know I was allergic to things. Well,
- 2:14Speaker 2: maybe you've been really stressed out.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I actually noticed myself back in the spring. I started
- 2:20Speaker 2: breaking out in hives randomly, never had this issue before.
- 2:23Speaker 2: And it's like, well, I guess things have been a
- 2:25Speaker 2: little more stressful this time of year, you know, change
- 2:27Speaker 2: of season. Something, my body's just a little more run down.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So yeah, our bodies are weird and they do weird
- 2:32Speaker 2: things like that sometimes, but a lot of it comes
- 2:33Speaker 2: down to stress and how we're handling that stress. Very nice.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And if you can handle the stress, get that under control.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But if you'd like help kind of getting things back
- 2:42Speaker 1: in adjustment here, that is where you reach out to
