- 0:00Speaker 1: I look at failure as the best thing that ever
- 0:02Speaker 1: can happen to someone fail going forward, don't. I would
- 0:05Speaker 1: rather you take a chance right rather than not take
- 0:08Speaker 1: a chance. You know the whole You miss one hundred
- 0:11Speaker 1: percent of shot you don't take. But if you're going
- 0:12Speaker 1: to miss some, you're gonna miss some.
- 0:13Speaker 2: But just shoot your damn shot.

- 1:06Speaker 3: one thirty eight, I am chatting with Ron boss Everline.
- 1:10Speaker 3: He's a personal trainer, a huge motivator, and known to
- 1:13Speaker 3: his millions of Instagram followers by his Instagram name just Train. Today,
- 1:20Speaker 3: he talks to me about growing up in a family
- 1:23Speaker 3: of football players, and having a dream of himself to
- 1:26Speaker 3: play in the NFL.
- 1:28Speaker 4: He really went for it.
- 1:29Speaker 3: He shot his shot, or I guess I mean, would
- 1:31Speaker 3: you say he threw the ball and went after it
- 1:35Speaker 3: with all he had and just he didn't make the
- 1:38Speaker 3: cut and instead of wallowing. What I love about Boss
- 1:41Speaker 3: is that he ran after other opportunities, opening up other
- 1:44Speaker 3: doors for.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Himself in the process.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Soon the entrepreneur was opening gyms in multiple cities, tackling
- 1:50Speaker 3: various ventures, and making a name for himself as a
- 1:53Speaker 3: top trainer. Today, he has traveled the globe working out
- 1:58Speaker 3: with top actors and including Leo and Kevin Hart, athletes,
- 2:03Speaker 3: world leaders. He's made a career out of doing what
- 2:06Speaker 3: he loves and every single day he's working harder and
- 2:09Speaker 3: he's going after it. We talk about all the difficult
- 2:12Speaker 3: decisions that he has had to make that have gotten
- 2:15Speaker 3: him to this point, and also we chat about his
- 2:18Speaker 3: newest chapter as a dad. Boss's passion here it's contagious.
- 2:23Speaker 3: You can hear it in the way that he talks,
- 2:25Speaker 3: his enthusiasm, his excitement. It will get you riled up
- 2:29Speaker 3: to go after anything that it is that you want.

- 3:22Speaker 3: same thing but in capsule form. And also huge fan
- 3:26Speaker 3: of their Dream Blend. It's a kind of unique tasting
- 3:30Speaker 3: hot chocolate with of course their THHC free CBD, melatonin,

- 5:12Speaker 3: It's Emily at hurdle dot us. We're kicking off a
- 5:16Speaker 3: week of thanks a week of gratitude here with Thanksgiving
- 5:19Speaker 3: on deck. I do want to say I am so
- 5:22Speaker 3: so grateful for all of you for being a part
- 5:24Speaker 3: of my community. With that, let's get to hurdling.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Today.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I am chatting with Ron boss Everline. He is a
- 5:37Speaker 3: trainer based out of Los Angeles. Ron, How you doing.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I'm good. I'm really really good. I'm based out of
- 5:43Speaker 1: Los Angeles, book currently in Canada working on a set.
- 5:47Speaker 1: But you know, I'm real. How are you? I?
- 5:50Speaker 3: I'm doing pretty well. I mean, it's been one hell
- 5:53Speaker 3: of a week. We're recording this Election week we will
- 5:56Speaker 3: call it because I don't think there's such a thing
- 5:58Speaker 3: as just one day anymore. Election week and the stress
- 6:02Speaker 3: is real, man.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah, the stress is real, but you know, we can
- 6:05Speaker 1: control what we can control, and we're all waiting on
- 6:09Speaker 1: the result. But ultimately, you know, we gotta we gotta
- 6:12Speaker 1: start working towards our best efforts with any result that
- 6:16Speaker 1: we see, right.
- 6:17Speaker 3: So definitely, So I'm curious, what do you do when
- 6:20Speaker 3: you're stressed out? Do you head immediately to the gym?
- 6:23Speaker 1: No? You know, you know, I am a serial entrepreneur
- 6:27Speaker 1: outside of the gym, so most people know me as
- 6:29Speaker 1: the trainer, but you know, working on a lot of
- 6:33Speaker 1: business and a lot of opportunity, new opportunities, kind of
- 6:37Speaker 1: building new structures, trying to find out the best principles,
- 6:40Speaker 1: you know. Just I'm constantly in a zone of progressive thought.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I try not to get stressed too often. I don't
- 6:46Speaker 1: really know how to define stress right now, Like it's
- 6:50Speaker 1: I've kind of mastered the mentality to continue to just
- 6:53Speaker 1: kind of push forward and not allow things to affect
- 6:57Speaker 1: my day to day.
- 6:59Speaker 4: That's impressed that big.
- 7:00Speaker 3: I think a lot of individuals definitely struggle with that,
- 7:03Speaker 3: Just the idea of continuing to push forward when it's
- 7:07Speaker 3: like there's so many things just coming at you from
- 7:09Speaker 3: all of the ways.
- 7:10Speaker 1: For sure, for sure, for sure.
- 7:12Speaker 3: So serial entrepreneur these days. But I don't think you
- 7:16Speaker 3: actually saw this lifestyle maybe for yourself from the get go.
- 7:20Speaker 4: So I'd love to.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Dial it back and talk to you about where you
- 7:24Speaker 3: come from, where you grew up.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yeah. So I grew up in Missouri City, Texas. I
- 7:29Speaker 1: am seven of nine, and you know, football was my everything.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I thought football was going to be my path to success.
- 7:37Speaker 1: And obviously, as you guys see now, you know opening out,
- 7:41Speaker 1: you know, I've always so I opened up a gym,
- 7:43Speaker 1: I thought football. I knew I was going to you know,
- 7:46Speaker 1: open up businesses and be an entrepreneur. But I come from,
- 7:49Speaker 1: you know, to stick on a topic of where I
- 7:50Speaker 1: come from, I come from a guy that comes from
- 7:52Speaker 1: a long list of family members that play in the NFL.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And that was going to be my hope. That was
- 7:58Speaker 1: going to be my dream and and happened, you know,
- 8:01Speaker 1: And so but I come from you know the mentality
- 8:04Speaker 1: of hustle and grind.
- 8:05Speaker 3: But you you went out and tried it out for
- 8:07Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Is that right?
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah? I did, I did. I did it all. I
- 8:11Speaker 1: pushed it and it just didn't happen, right, And I
- 8:14Speaker 1: did more than most I got some workouts, I met
- 8:17Speaker 1: with a lot of people, worked out for some Canadian teams,
- 8:20Speaker 1: and at some point I had to make a real
- 8:23Speaker 1: conscious decision about where my life was headed and was
- 8:27Speaker 1: I going to continue to be a guy that was
- 8:29Speaker 1: hope that that I had this hope, or was I
- 8:32Speaker 1: going to transition into saying, listen, I gotta take advantage.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I got to take, you know, a hold of my
- 8:37Speaker 1: life and say, you know what, fuck this, I gotta
- 8:40Speaker 1: I gotta figure it out. And I knew that I
- 8:41Speaker 1: had the ability to push through, and I knew I
- 8:43Speaker 1: was going to hold myself accountable, and I just I
- 8:46Speaker 1: didn't know what I was going to do. I was
- 8:47Speaker 1: a jack of all trade and a master of none,
- 8:50Speaker 1: and you know, fitness just started to show itself ten
- 8:56Speaker 1: times more than anything else, and so that that was
- 8:59Speaker 1: kind of the way for me, you know, and the
- 9:02Speaker 1: doors started to open.
- 9:04Speaker 3: It's interesting, though, because I think, you know, when you
- 9:06Speaker 3: grow up with that background and you have people in
- 9:08Speaker 3: your family that played football, you have this dream of
- 9:11Speaker 3: playing football, and you go after something and it doesn't
- 9:14Speaker 3: happen the way that you thought that it might. Did
- 9:16Speaker 3: you struggle a little bit considering that that was a
- 9:19Speaker 3: big part of your identity.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I'm sure, yeah, you know what I did, I don't
- 9:23Speaker 1: you know, I don't call it depression, right. I think
- 9:26Speaker 1: I went through this. I went through this mode of like,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you know, not being able to watch football. But what
- 9:33Speaker 1: I did was and a lot of people may say
- 9:35Speaker 1: this was wrong, but I just I got really really
- 9:38Speaker 1: busy at other shit. I just really started to like
- 9:41Speaker 1: trying to figure out what was going to be my
- 9:43Speaker 1: next chapter. So I just really put football out of
- 9:46Speaker 1: my mind. I just completely forgot about it. I I loved,
- 9:52Speaker 1: you know, I was never jealous of anyone that was
- 9:54Speaker 1: still making it. I just focused. I did a hyper
- 9:57Speaker 1: focus on where I wanted to go and forgot to
- 10:00Speaker 1: and just delusionally, delusionally focused on being the best boss
- 10:06Speaker 1: that I could be. That was just my transition.
- 10:09Speaker 3: What you said, I think is really kind of special
- 10:11Speaker 3: is not feeling jealous or some kind of way about
- 10:14Speaker 3: the other people who found success, because I think that
- 10:18Speaker 3: it's hard, right, just this comparison trap, especially with social media.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah, well, for me at the time, there was no
- 10:25Speaker 1: social media, and you know, I had grown up and
- 10:30Speaker 1: you know, the way I was raised is that there
- 10:33Speaker 1: was so much competition. I was raised to compete, but I,
- 10:37Speaker 1: you know, to be honest, my I think my nephew
- 10:39Speaker 1: was seven years old. I can't remember the age. And
- 10:43Speaker 1: he turned on a music video. At the time, music
- 10:45Speaker 1: videos were prompular, and I didn't want to watch it.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I was like, I didn't want to see other people's success.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And I was still in college and I think I
- 10:51Speaker 1: was like nineteen, and I said, I don't want to
- 10:53Speaker 1: see that. He said, why, uncle boss, And I said,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I don't want to see nobody else doing what I'm
- 10:57Speaker 1: supposed to be doing. You know, He's like God said,
- 10:59Speaker 1: don't be jealous. You know that you can't be jealous
- 11:02Speaker 1: of anyone, and that he was definitely young, and at
- 11:05Speaker 1: that moment I realized he said, what's for you will
- 11:09Speaker 1: be for you in the time right, And so that
- 11:11Speaker 1: shifted my mindset right away, you know what I mean.
- 11:15Speaker 1: It changed my whole scope of how I started to
- 11:18Speaker 1: move forward with my life. It's like, what's for me
- 11:21Speaker 1: is what's for me, and it's really that simple. I
- 11:23Speaker 1: didn't I couldn't worry about anything else.
- 11:26Speaker 4: I love that what's for me is what's for me.
- 11:28Speaker 3: And again, it's a lot about perspective, right, it's really
- 11:31Speaker 3: hard when you're going through the thick of it, when
- 11:33Speaker 3: we're going through these hurdles to find that perspective. But oftentime,
- 11:37Speaker 3: going through these hard moments is what helps us gain
- 11:40Speaker 3: that perspective and then use it the next time around.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I absolutely agree. You couldn't have said any better one
- 11:45Speaker 1: thousand percent. The failure is what buils you, right. You
- 11:49Speaker 1: have to allow the obstacles, the tough times. And they say,
- 11:53Speaker 1: judge a person about when everything's not going well, don't
- 11:56Speaker 1: judge when everything's going great. And so that's the way
- 11:59Speaker 1: we look at it. Failure is the opportunity to grow.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I look at failure as the best thing that ever
- 12:05Speaker 1: can happen to someone fail going forward, don't I'd rather
- 12:08Speaker 1: you take a chance, right, rather than not take a chance.
- 12:12Speaker 1: You know, the whole you missed one hundred percent of
- 12:14Speaker 1: shot you don't take. But if you're gonna miss some,
- 12:16Speaker 1: you're gonna miss some, But just shoot your damn shot.
- 12:18Speaker 3: We pivot from the NFL and you start getting into fitness.
- 12:23Speaker 3: So when you say that, what at the time did
- 12:25Speaker 3: that look like?
- 12:27Speaker 1: Well, so realistically, I opened up a gym, so I've
- 12:30Speaker 1: never worked for a gym like I, so I started
- 12:33Speaker 1: off entrepreneur right away. So we opened up a sixteen
- 12:36Speaker 1: thousand squarephic gym and it all started off with a
- 12:39Speaker 1: program called Moms, Mom's Gonna Move and I was just,
- 12:42Speaker 1: you know, trying to Initially, it was like I saw
- 12:45Speaker 1: this opportunity to do boot camps women that had babies, right,
- 12:48Speaker 1: And at the same time, we opened up this gym
- 12:51Speaker 1: for athletes, right, and they were they were high school kids,
- 12:55Speaker 1: you know, middle school kids, and so that was the
- 12:58Speaker 1: big wave. But then I started to see it dope fitness.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I started to see an opportunity in that world. And
- 13:03Speaker 1: you know, I have the sixteen thousand square for a
- 13:05Speaker 1: facility where we got baseball cages, football players, soccer players,
- 13:09Speaker 1: and we're coming working on speed and agility. And then
- 13:13Speaker 1: there's a woman by the name of Heidi, and Heidi
- 13:18Speaker 1: lost one hundred plus pounds through one of my boot
- 13:20Speaker 1: camps or whatever, and she came to me crying and
- 13:23Speaker 1: she said I changed her life, and I was like,
- 13:26Speaker 1: well I changed, Like I couldn't. I couldn't fathom changing
- 13:29Speaker 1: someone's life through fitness because I always thought football was
- 13:32Speaker 1: going to be that that moment that propelled me to
- 13:35Speaker 1: change people's lives because I, you know, we look at
- 13:38Speaker 1: those individuals like they're superheroes and so, you know, we
- 13:42Speaker 1: look at athletes and entertainers like oh my god, you
- 13:44Speaker 1: know and that. And so for someone to look me
- 13:48Speaker 1: in my face with tears coming down their eyes and
- 13:50Speaker 1: saying I changed their life and it didn't register with
- 13:54Speaker 1: me at the moment. But about three to four months later,
- 13:56Speaker 1: I was like, oh man, maybe this is my calling.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Like I started there more and more people like, yo, bosh,
- 14:01Speaker 1: you're giving me some this is giving me so much confidence.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I feel different, I look different, Like my mental is
- 14:07Speaker 1: so much better. Man, Like I feel like I'm accomplishing
- 14:11Speaker 1: and you know, beating my days. And so I was like,
- 14:14Speaker 1: what the fuck is happening? Like I because this was
- 14:16Speaker 1: all foreign to me. All I knew was like I
- 14:19Speaker 1: was the guy that you know, had trainers and you know,
- 14:21Speaker 1: playing football coach, you know, strength coaches putting us through it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: So now this transition was like what you know what
- 14:27Speaker 1: I mean? And I'm a serial entrepreneur. So as I'm
- 14:30Speaker 1: loving fitness, I'm also still looking for new opportunities and
- 14:33Speaker 1: I love being outside. So I created this program called
- 14:37Speaker 1: CJ at the Workout Kid, where CJ World was kids
- 14:39Speaker 1: teaching kids how to be fit. But CJ Dad had
- 14:41Speaker 1: a dumb truck and me loving landscape and I'm like, oh, man,
- 14:45Speaker 1: I can make money over here in the landscaping business.
- 14:47Speaker 1: And he looked at me and he said, bro, you're
- 14:49Speaker 1: a jack of all trade and a master and none
- 14:51Speaker 1: man focused on fitness. I need you to just I'm
- 14:53Speaker 1: not going to sell you the truck. And I was like, bro,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I can buy a truck from anybody, right, And but
- 14:58Speaker 1: it registered with me, like, yo, you to master exercise,
- 15:02Speaker 1: you need that master fitness. But I was like, okay,
- 15:05Speaker 1: exercise is cool. I started to want to master the
- 15:07Speaker 1: mentality that gets people to get up and go right,
- 15:10Speaker 1: the mentality of motivation, the mentality of commitment and consistency,
- 15:16Speaker 1: and how do I get these people to tick and twitch,
- 15:18Speaker 1: you know, to reach their full potential. And so that's
- 15:22Speaker 1: when it really really set in on me that this
- 15:25Speaker 1: was what I wanted to do. But it wasn't exercise.
- 15:28Speaker 1: It was the exercise was the way to get them
- 15:30Speaker 1: in to work on them mentally. And that was a
- 15:33Speaker 1: big transition for me. And that's what I've been doing, Like,
- 15:36Speaker 1: my main focus is to yield the result for people,
- 15:39Speaker 1: to give people hope that they can do whatever they
- 15:41Speaker 1: want to do and accomplish so many different things in life.
- 15:43Speaker 3: I love what you said also when you were starting
- 15:46Speaker 3: out that you had two different demos.
- 15:48Speaker 4: It was like the high school athlete and.
- 15:50Speaker 3: The mom yes along your journey when because I think
- 15:55Speaker 3: that oftentimes, I mean, you're talking about how important it
- 15:58Speaker 3: was to just focus on fitness, you know, like not
- 16:01Speaker 3: buy the dump truck, not do other things, focus on fitness.
- 16:04Speaker 3: So after you kind of had that realization, did you
- 16:06Speaker 3: take it a step further and really start to home
- 16:08Speaker 3: in on like who the ideal client was that you
- 16:11Speaker 3: wanted to work with.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You know what. I would like to say I had
- 16:15Speaker 1: it all together, but no, I was forced into that, right,
- 16:18Speaker 1: So like yes and no to your question, Like it
- 16:21Speaker 1: wasn't like this thing that I thought of. It was
- 16:23Speaker 1: like a forceful thing. Right. So I started to see,
- 16:26Speaker 1: Like I don't like to talk about money, but I
- 16:28Speaker 1: started to see the thing that was fueling how the
- 16:31Speaker 1: change Because the parents were dropping off their kids and
- 16:34Speaker 1: they were there and I'm like, hold on, they need
- 16:35Speaker 1: somebody to work with them. So I completely hired we
- 16:39Speaker 1: hired someone else to handle the kids because I'm like, yo,
- 16:41Speaker 1: I want to handle these adults, right. My mind is
- 16:43Speaker 1: just the way I think. I said, Oh, hold on,
- 16:45Speaker 1: there's a big opportunity in this, in this world of
- 16:47Speaker 1: women and exercise and just adult fitness in general. So
- 16:52Speaker 1: then I created teacher get Fit. I created this really
- 16:54Speaker 1: because I'm like, Okay, our kids are with teachers every day, right,
- 16:58Speaker 1: but our teachers are not. Obviously we now know this.
- 17:01Speaker 1: They're not taking care of they're not paid the highest,
- 17:04Speaker 1: but our kids are with them eight hours a day.
- 17:06Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, what have I really created a program
- 17:10Speaker 1: for teachers that was cost effishent and that would help
- 17:14Speaker 1: them go to the school and create this business. And
- 17:18Speaker 1: so I said, oh shit, this is a big opportunity.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And that was the transition, right, And so that's when
- 17:23Speaker 1: I started to turn over the leaf of like seeing
- 17:26Speaker 1: the opportunity that I can grow within the wellness space,
- 17:29Speaker 1: the fitness space, the exercise space, and so those were
- 17:32Speaker 1: the doors that were starting to open. But it wasn't like,
- 17:35Speaker 1: oh man, like it just kind of I didn't think
- 17:38Speaker 1: about it. It just happened.
- 17:40Speaker 4: It just happened.
- 17:41Speaker 3: So you're working out with like so many different types
- 17:44Speaker 3: of clientele and there's so much going on in this
- 17:47Speaker 3: one space. Does it feel like does it start to
- 17:50Speaker 3: feel like too much at all?
- 17:51Speaker 1: Never? Right, because I always control the energy, right. It
- 17:55Speaker 1: was always a vibe, right, Like you want to create
- 17:58Speaker 1: an environment that people love, right, So that was always
- 18:01Speaker 1: with when anybody that has a gym or any space, right,
- 18:05Speaker 1: it was let me create anytime I open anything that
- 18:09Speaker 1: I want to do. I want to create an environment
- 18:10Speaker 1: where people want to be right. And so that's where
- 18:14Speaker 1: I lived, and so it was never too much. I
- 18:16Speaker 1: never but my mind was never that right, Like, I
- 18:19Speaker 1: never got into a mindset of like this is too much,
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'm stressed out or I'm not, because then I become defeated.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I'll allow my like the opportunity to take advantage of me,
- 18:30Speaker 1: rather than taking advantage of the opportunity. You see what
- 18:32Speaker 1: I'm saying. And I wasn't going to allow that. If
- 18:35Speaker 1: that makes any sense, it's like you want more, yet
- 18:38Speaker 1: you're going to complain about it. That doesn't make sense.
- 18:40Speaker 1: You adjust to it, Okay, A lot is what you
- 18:42Speaker 1: ask for and fix it as you go. But you
- 18:44Speaker 1: can't cry about it. You can't say it's too much.
- 18:46Speaker 1: You got to figure out how do you make it
- 18:48Speaker 1: work for you.
- 18:50Speaker 3: The gym is building up, there's a lot of people
- 18:52Speaker 3: coming in. What's the next step in your entrepreneurial journey.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Then all of a sudden, adult fitness is thriving. What
- 19:00Speaker 1: happened was, you know, I believe in like you know,
- 19:03Speaker 1: cleanliness and certain things, and I'm not going to go
- 19:06Speaker 1: into too many detail, but I never forget. Business was booming.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And my partner cousin at the time was like, yo, man,
- 19:13Speaker 1: we gotta not we need to talk about how much
- 19:16Speaker 1: money you're making. And I'm like, no, we don't, Like
- 19:19Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like, this is not the transition.
- 19:22Speaker 1: So I'm going through a tough part of my relationship
- 19:24Speaker 1: right at the individual I was dating at the time,
- 19:27Speaker 1: which is sometimes people don't know that relationships can be
- 19:29Speaker 1: your best, best blessing ever. Right, So this relationship wasn't
- 19:33Speaker 1: working right, and I was just so up at night
- 19:36Speaker 1: trying to figure out, like I'm I'm determined to be
- 19:38Speaker 1: successful because they're counting me out, you know, because the
- 19:42Speaker 1: football didn't work and all these different things. So I
- 19:45Speaker 1: was like you know what, I'll create a teacher get fit.
- 19:47Speaker 1: And rather than driving every school, what I did was
- 19:50Speaker 1: I would stay up late at night and I composed
- 19:52Speaker 1: an email, and I emailed every school in Atlanta. When
- 19:57Speaker 1: I tell you, I realized that it was all public information, right, Okay,
- 20:01Speaker 1: Gennet County, the cab County, Fulton County, like all the schools.
- 20:05Speaker 1: And I was just getting every elementary, middle school print
- 20:08Speaker 1: and I was emailing, and all of a sudden, he
- 20:10Speaker 1: start hitting us back, right, and so I'm like, oh shit,
- 20:14Speaker 1: oh my business. So this was the big transition in
- 20:16Speaker 1: the entrepreneurship. Right. So now you got thirty teachers at
- 20:19Speaker 1: one school paying one hundred dollars a month, and you
- 20:21Speaker 1: got ten schools going at one time. Right, So now
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'm creating this real business. You see what I'm saying.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So me and my cousin, we weren't seeing out of
- 20:30Speaker 1: I now, Mimmy. I shared this idea with my cousin
- 20:33Speaker 1: because I'm like, I don't care. Now, mimmy. He's driving
- 20:36Speaker 1: to every school, right, and he's trying to pitch my
- 20:39Speaker 1: idea to every school because he wants to like present
- 20:41Speaker 1: the opportunity to me and I'm like. So he finally
- 20:43Speaker 1: goes to a school and he pulls up to the
- 20:45Speaker 1: school and they're like, oh, we already received that, and
- 20:47Speaker 1: they're like what. And so he comes back to me,
- 20:50Speaker 1: He's like, Yo, how do you How are you getting
- 20:53Speaker 1: to these schools? I'm like, bro, Like, you're working hard,
- 20:55Speaker 1: like you're driving, like for I emailed three hundred schools already,
- 20:58Speaker 1: Like what do you know what I mean? I mean
- 21:00Speaker 1: like and that was like, I'm like, I gotta work smarter,
- 21:03Speaker 1: like I don't need to be sitting back driving every
- 21:06Speaker 1: school working on one or two, like I need to
- 21:09Speaker 1: hit three hundred. And every principal and assistant principal will
- 21:12Speaker 1: open up their email and they'll see this and if
- 21:16Speaker 1: they want to buy into the program, either they will
- 21:18Speaker 1: or they won't. And so that was it, you know
- 21:20Speaker 1: what I mean. And that was the start of my entrepreneur.
- 21:22Speaker 1: That was the start of my entrepreneur journey right there.
- 21:24Speaker 3: This whole story makes me think of that saying, like,
- 21:26Speaker 3: work smarter, not harder. And I'm sitting here thinking about
- 21:30Speaker 3: the things that I doing in my life where I'm
- 21:33Speaker 3: definitely working harder and not smarter. So I mean, amazing
- 21:38Speaker 3: so when you sell this concept to these schools, what
- 21:42Speaker 3: are you actually offering to them?
- 21:44Speaker 1: So I'm just offering basically, and this is to any trainer,
- 21:48Speaker 1: like to any business person, like think outside of the box.
- 21:51Speaker 1: But it doesn't have to be complex, right, Rather, you're
- 21:54Speaker 1: in fitness raether, you're in anything. Just simplicity is cool.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Like I'm like, oh, man, I'm hey, guys, thirty teachers
- 22:02Speaker 1: in one classroom after school before you leave school. They're like,
- 22:06Speaker 1: this is a no brainer, you know what I'm saying.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And that was it for me. They everybody bought into it.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Right, And it's cool that you can.
- 22:14Speaker 3: It's like you're offering the school a way for them
- 22:17Speaker 3: to help take care of their people.
- 22:19Speaker 4: So that's good on them.
- 22:20Speaker 1: And so now what I'm seeing is the teachers. The
- 22:23Speaker 1: kids are watching the teachers work out and they're like, oh, missus.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Sutton says, Oh that's cool. And so now we're creating
- 22:29Speaker 1: a trickle effect. Now you're motivating, you know what I mean.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So now kids are and they're subconscious they're seeing someone exercise.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Maybe no one's exercising at home. Now they're seeing their
- 22:38Speaker 1: teachers that they're with all day exercising it was just
- 22:41Speaker 1: this amazing thing that I was like, Yo, this could
- 22:43Speaker 1: be really really dope, you know what I mean, And
- 22:46Speaker 1: it was it turned out really really amazing.

- 23:37Speaker 3: when I was finally able to shut my laptop, I

- 24:52Speaker 4: That is wrong.

- 25:32Speaker 3: that is drink lmnt dot com slash hurdle to get
- 25:37Speaker 3: in on it today. So then, but how do you
- 25:47Speaker 3: transition from the guy that's going to work with a
- 25:51Speaker 3: bunch of teachers after school to opening up gyms in
- 25:55Speaker 3: both Cincinnati and Los Angeles.
- 25:58Speaker 1: So I opened up my own studio and Atlanta, and
- 26:01Speaker 1: I got a phone call from mommy. I've been training
- 26:03Speaker 1: Neo's manager's wife, Lynetta for about two years this time
- 26:09Speaker 1: and a year and a half, and I never thought
- 26:12Speaker 1: about being a celebrity trainer or training anyone that would
- 26:15Speaker 1: have a celebrity likeness. I just was flit on the ground.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You can be successful one dollar at a time. That's
- 26:20Speaker 1: the way I look at it, Like you know what
- 26:22Speaker 1: I mean, Like I don't believe in these quantum leaps
- 26:25Speaker 1: of success like those a lottery. I just believe in
- 26:27Speaker 1: hard work to get to where you want to go.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And Neo manager called me and was like, yo, Neo
- 26:34Speaker 1: wants you to come train him, like we want to
- 26:36Speaker 1: bring you on a road next week. And I'm like
- 26:38Speaker 1: he's actually said tomorrow, and I'm like, I can't leave tomorrow,
- 26:43Speaker 1: but I could leave, you know whatever. That I think
- 26:45Speaker 1: it was like three four days later, and that was
- 26:47Speaker 1: a transition, so you know, getting on the road with
- 26:50Speaker 1: Neo and being able to and I got fired, Like,
- 26:54Speaker 1: let me tell you, I worked with him for four months.
- 26:55Speaker 1: It was a three month job. Three like and I
- 26:57Speaker 1: used the word fire to make this like there was
- 27:01Speaker 1: the moment of me being on the road with Neo,
- 27:03Speaker 1: him not waking up in the morning going to the gym,
- 27:06Speaker 1: and I was the blame for it, right because I
- 27:07Speaker 1: knock on they say nine am, no matter what time.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It's like I want to work out at nine then
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'll try to wake him up at nine and he
- 27:12Speaker 1: doesn't want to get up, and I'm like, all right, cool,
- 27:14Speaker 1: Like wait nine ten, He's like, oh, I don't want
- 27:16Speaker 1: to train. I'm tired. I got a headache. So I
- 27:18Speaker 1: was like, all right, cool, I guess I'm hired to
- 27:20Speaker 1: be here. I don't know this world, you know what
- 27:22Speaker 1: I'm saying. So we would always go back home, and
- 27:26Speaker 1: home was Atlanta, and so one particular time, I'm home
- 27:28Speaker 1: for like two months, and so now I'm like, I
- 27:31Speaker 1: didn't I was big. I was a football player looking guy.
- 27:33Speaker 1: So I was like, all right, this is my opportunity
- 27:36Speaker 1: to drop a lot away and really represent fitness. But
- 27:40Speaker 1: at the same time, I'm like, I'm not thinking that.
- 27:42Speaker 1: But every day I woke up, I thought, as if
- 27:44Speaker 1: I was an intern, that this job was over. But
- 27:46Speaker 1: I didn't actually know the job was over until one day.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I lived in some loss and they were filming across
- 27:51Speaker 1: the street and Neo's manager, Tango, came up to me.
- 27:54Speaker 1: It's like, you know, Neo wanted me to find him
- 27:55Speaker 1: a new trainer. He's like, and I'm like what and
- 27:58Speaker 1: he was like yeah, man, he he said you were
- 28:00Speaker 1: too easy on him. I said I was too easy
- 28:02Speaker 1: on him, Like, like, what do you mean? He's like, yeah, man,
- 28:05Speaker 1: he said you were too easy. Like he basically just
- 28:07Speaker 1: tell you what they're doing, you don't do it. I said, bro,
- 28:09Speaker 1: like I don't know this world, like this is you
- 28:12Speaker 1: know what I mean? Like I don't have a clue.
- 28:14Speaker 1: And so I said, all right, cool, So you want
- 28:17Speaker 1: me to be me? He's like, bro, he said, boss,
- 28:20Speaker 1: do whatever you gotta do to get the results. Right.
- 28:22Speaker 1: So from that day forward, everywhere we went, ME know,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I had I had a key to his room. I
- 28:26Speaker 1: don't care if we were in Istanbul, Turkey, I don't
- 28:29Speaker 1: care if we were in La I don't care if
- 28:32Speaker 1: when he when they booked a room for him, my
- 28:34Speaker 1: name was on his room if whatever he was doing
- 28:36Speaker 1: in that room, and he said a time I walked in,
- 28:38Speaker 1: I'm saying things. And it was that was that was
- 28:42Speaker 1: the turnover to the success right, And so fast forward
- 28:45Speaker 1: to being with him for three and a half years,
- 28:48Speaker 1: being literally the last person they are. They literally offered
- 28:51Speaker 1: me a role manager position and I turned it down
- 28:53Speaker 1: because at that moment, I was like, yo, I saw
- 28:56Speaker 1: an opportunity to really build something really special. In the
- 28:59Speaker 1: fitness industry. I remember we were getting on the plane
- 29:01Speaker 1: and they were like, yo, we want to see if
- 29:03Speaker 1: you want to do takeover role manager and a lot
- 29:05Speaker 1: of people it went from me being fired to being
- 29:08Speaker 1: the last person on the road with him, like it
- 29:10Speaker 1: was goodly just me and him traveling like from I
- 29:12Speaker 1: remember being in France and it was just me and him.
- 29:14Speaker 4: I think.
- 29:15Speaker 3: I mean, you've described so far two kind of big
- 29:18Speaker 3: moments for you. One of them when you started to
- 29:22Speaker 3: have these conversations regularly with clients and they were telling
- 29:25Speaker 3: you like, you are changing my life. And then I'm
- 29:27Speaker 3: sure as you started to travel the world doing this,
- 29:31Speaker 3: you must have had at least, you know, a few
- 29:34Speaker 3: pinch mean moments along the way.
- 29:36Speaker 1: You know what I want to say. The the biggest
- 29:40Speaker 1: pinch me moment was going to Saudi Arabia. Right, So
- 29:44Speaker 1: we had started sending trainers. So what a lot of
- 29:46Speaker 1: people don't know is that, you know, I have trainers
- 29:48Speaker 1: that work for our company and they travel, they go
- 29:50Speaker 1: to Saudi Arabia, they go to Paris, they go and
- 29:53Speaker 1: that was a pinch me moment, like what the hell?
- 29:55Speaker 1: Like I got business in different countries, right, you want
- 29:59Speaker 1: me to come. I was very sought after, and it
- 30:02Speaker 1: was like it wasn't about the places, it was more
- 30:04Speaker 1: about the opportunity right to now expand what this mindset
- 30:10Speaker 1: and obviously I know I'm going to yield the result.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Like I never questioned my ability to help someone your
- 30:15Speaker 1: result it was, Man, I'm so thankful that people are
- 30:19Speaker 1: literally buying into my mindset of what I walk and
- 30:22Speaker 1: what I believe, and like my integrity and my accountability
- 30:25Speaker 1: and my consistency. And you know, that's what people were buying.
- 30:29Speaker 1: That's what they were seeing. That's what they were like.
- 30:31Speaker 1: You have to walk, to talk and live by example.
- 30:33Speaker 1: But it took me four years for people to trust me.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I have been telling people about this business, but I
- 30:39Speaker 1: could do this. I could do this, but they watched
- 30:41Speaker 1: me rather than rather than hearing me just talk about it.
- 30:44Speaker 1: People saw that I was committed. If we went to
- 30:46Speaker 1: a club at you know at night, and woke up
- 30:49Speaker 1: and didn't get home to three, and they said they
- 30:51Speaker 1: wanted to work out at six, well I don't care
- 30:53Speaker 1: if they got up. My job was to be up
- 30:54Speaker 1: at five point thirty to make sure. You know what
- 30:56Speaker 1: I mean, Like, yeah, you can't compromise. Can't compromise the
- 31:01Speaker 1: job for the road or the good time, like I'm
- 31:04Speaker 1: only here, Like let's remember, I'm here to do a job.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Like if I can't get up, I don't go out.
- 31:11Speaker 1: You feel what I'm saying, And so you start to
- 31:13Speaker 1: balance and you start to understand what's more important. And
- 31:16Speaker 1: so those are those transition pieces for me, you know
- 31:18Speaker 1: what I mean, and understanding what was taking me to
- 31:21Speaker 1: the next level and how was I going to propel
- 31:23Speaker 1: and how was I going to be the guy that
- 31:25Speaker 1: people started to seek after and admire. From my mindset,
- 31:29Speaker 1: it was consistency. It was accountability, you know what I mean.
- 31:33Speaker 1: It was integrity, and those are the things I hang
- 31:35Speaker 1: my hat on.
- 31:36Speaker 4: It was action over just you know, lip service.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely.
- 31:40Speaker 3: And so when you turned down doing the road manager
- 31:45Speaker 3: opportunity with NEO, then I'm assuming that kind of made
- 31:48Speaker 3: some room to take on other opportunities that helped you
- 31:52Speaker 3: kind of further along within that industry.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was still on the road with him,
- 31:57Speaker 1: and then finally he went through a transition. He went
- 32:01Speaker 1: through a transition of just kind of like you know,
- 32:03Speaker 1: not not just he was in great shape, not need
- 32:07Speaker 1: me every day. And I don't want to go into
- 32:08Speaker 1: so much detail about that, but I just remember being
- 32:12Speaker 1: home and then the opportunity. So I've trained Diddy, I mean,
- 32:16Speaker 1: I've trained everybody, and I remember I went to Saudi
- 32:21Speaker 1: Arabia and that was a long term opportunity. And I
- 32:23Speaker 1: remember coming around Kevin and because I don't value and
- 32:27Speaker 1: I'm fortunate enough for the select that the clientele that
- 32:30Speaker 1: I have. But when when I when I looked at
- 32:34Speaker 1: when when I at this point I'm talking to Kevin
- 32:36Speaker 1: and was like, yo, bro, I want to be your partner,
- 32:38Speaker 1: and I don't. If it's just about training, I'm not
- 32:40Speaker 1: the guy. Because if it's just about training, I can
- 32:42Speaker 1: go to Saarny Arabia and it was just about money,
- 32:44Speaker 1: I can go do that. I want to build something
- 32:46Speaker 1: more special than just let's just go to the gym
- 32:49Speaker 1: and exercise.
- 32:50Speaker 3: What happens with that opportunity, then what because you're mentioning,
- 32:53Speaker 3: you're obviously talking about Kevin Hart, we haven't even brought
- 32:56Speaker 3: that up yet. So you you tell him that and
- 32:59Speaker 3: then what direction and does that take?
- 33:01Speaker 1: Well? He we started off really slow, right, and so
- 33:05Speaker 1: so my loyalty to Neo. So I'll go backward. So
- 33:08Speaker 1: Neil called me. It was like, look I got now, mimmy,
- 33:12Speaker 1: I have multiple trainers on the road. Business is doing
- 33:14Speaker 1: really really well for us, and you know, I'm working
- 33:18Speaker 1: with Kevin and we're on set and Neil's like, boss,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I need you, I need you. And I'm like, all right, cool,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'm going to go back on the road. So I
- 33:25Speaker 1: told Kevin, I'm like, yo, bro, i gotta go, like
- 33:27Speaker 1: I'm I loyalty. I got to take care of my guy.
- 33:29Speaker 1: And he was like, no, man, I understand. That's that's commendable.
- 33:31Speaker 1: And so get back on the road with Neo. And
- 33:33Speaker 1: it's like it literally was this moment of like we
- 33:38Speaker 1: didn't train one day, right, We're on tour, we didn't train.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, we want to work out today, Hey, bro,
- 33:43Speaker 1: you want to work out? And like he's like not,
- 33:46Speaker 1: Like it was like none existent, right, And I went
- 33:49Speaker 1: to him like a man in a conversation. I was like, bro,
- 33:51Speaker 1: I'm out, Like I'm I'm out, and I'm telling you why,
- 33:55Speaker 1: and you know when you're ready, you're ready and let
- 33:58Speaker 1: me know. And came back to Kevin, and I worked
- 34:01Speaker 1: with Kevin for a little while and then I ended
- 34:02Speaker 1: up going to Australia working with a client, and then
- 34:05Speaker 1: I went to starting for a client, and then I
- 34:07Speaker 1: came back. I'll never forget. We were Kevin Hart. We
- 34:10Speaker 1: were working on central intelligence and we were sitting in
- 34:14Speaker 1: a hotel lobby and he ran down the list of
- 34:17Speaker 1: things that he wanted to accomplish, and I said, he
- 34:20Speaker 1: wanted magazines, he wanted a shoe deal, he wanted these things.
- 34:24Speaker 1: And I said, okay, cool, I'm going to go do
- 34:27Speaker 1: my job. And he said, if you do it, you
- 34:29Speaker 1: deserve it. And that's how our relationship built, and that's
- 34:32Speaker 1: how we got to where we are today, you know
- 34:35Speaker 1: what I mean. And so through the transition, I still
- 34:38Speaker 1: run my own business. I still go to Saudi Arabia.
- 34:41Speaker 1: We do a lot of things together. You know, I
- 34:43Speaker 1: still have clients all over the where. I'll still have trainers,
- 34:46Speaker 1: and keV has become my partner but also my brother.
- 34:51Speaker 1: In those same integrity, accountability, consistencies, you know, you know,
- 34:57Speaker 1: some principles exist no matter what I'm doing. Rather, it's
- 35:00Speaker 1: the internal part of my business. It's the training part
- 35:03Speaker 1: of my business. It's you know what I mean. Those
- 35:05Speaker 1: principles are consistent in anything that I try to do.
- 35:10Speaker 3: And when you surround yourself with people that are like
- 35:13Speaker 3: minded and you know, have big goals that you're talking
- 35:16Speaker 3: about all of these big aspirations that Kevin had, I
- 35:19Speaker 3: would assume that that was just really motivating and exciting
- 35:22Speaker 3: for you to be on the same level as someone
- 35:25Speaker 3: who just like wanted to strive for more.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Yeah, because that's all I ever wanted, right to to
- 35:31Speaker 1: to be someone that wanted more and to and to
- 35:35Speaker 1: see someone that was willing to give what I wanted
- 35:38Speaker 1: to work for in the lane that I was in.
- 35:41Speaker 1: My level was there. And the fact that he met
- 35:44Speaker 1: it and was willing to do the work, as you know,
- 35:46Speaker 1: with someone that had so much going on, it was special.
- 35:49Speaker 1: It was And so you know, he was the first
- 35:52Speaker 1: guy to ever sign a Nike deal as a comedian.
- 35:54Speaker 1: He you know, we were he was the face of
- 35:57Speaker 1: a healthcare company. Like they were just you know, staple
- 36:01Speaker 1: moments of like the partnership that we started to build.
- 36:04Speaker 1: And now we're talking financial fitness with JP Morgan Chase
- 36:07Speaker 1: and so you you know, we we we're you know,
- 36:11Speaker 1: working with fabletics like I own, you know what I mean,
- 36:14Speaker 1: Like we've xd we you know, xd fit equipment, we
- 36:17Speaker 1: sold it to your REX. Like those are opportunities that
- 36:19Speaker 1: So now we're working on new partnerships with different companies
- 36:22Speaker 1: that I can't speak about until the deals, like you know,
- 36:24Speaker 1: the by I truly started, you start to walk into that,
- 36:29Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, and uh and building all
- 36:32Speaker 1: those opportunities.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I love that.
- 36:35Speaker 3: So for you when you talk about, you know, partnering
- 36:38Speaker 3: with him on this stuff, so you're saying like you were,
- 36:42Speaker 3: of course working out with him, but then in addition,
- 36:44Speaker 3: like you started to work on a lot of the
- 36:46Speaker 3: product projects that he was interested in and going after
- 36:50Speaker 3: these opportunities.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Everything that I've done, I've never got a loan from anybody.
- 36:54Speaker 1: No one's giving me money. So what I did was
- 36:56Speaker 1: I took all my money and I saved it until
- 36:59Speaker 1: I got towards and point, and I started hiring like
- 37:03Speaker 1: like executive like I knew that what I knew, and
- 37:06Speaker 1: then I started bringing on people that was going to
- 37:09Speaker 1: help me take things to the next level. You know
- 37:11Speaker 1: what I mean, Because I'm like, Okay, if I'm on
- 37:12Speaker 1: the road and I'm thinking of all these ideas, I
- 37:14Speaker 1: can't execute on everything. You know what I mean, so
- 37:17Speaker 1: I started to realize that I was going to have
- 37:19Speaker 1: to invest in people, and so I started to take
- 37:22Speaker 1: my own money and taking less. And rather than buying
- 37:24Speaker 1: a new car, or rather than buying new clothes, I
- 37:27Speaker 1: was I was really recycling all my clothes or jewelry.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I was like, fuck this, Like, I'm literally going to
- 37:33Speaker 1: build what I want and I'm not asking anybody for
- 37:36Speaker 1: no handout. I'm not talking to nobody. If I said it,
- 37:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it. And when I when I said
- 37:41Speaker 1: I took less. So now when people go, oh, man,
- 37:44Speaker 1: something such made you or setting such did this, It's
- 37:46Speaker 1: like I don't have anything to prove. But I worked
- 37:48Speaker 1: my ass off and still working my ass off, you
- 37:51Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And I'm committed to holding myself
- 37:55Speaker 1: accountable for more. And the thing is is I tell people,
- 37:58Speaker 1: like someone asks me the other day, it's like, how
- 37:59Speaker 1: do you define success? I don't like, No, they didn't
- 38:02Speaker 1: ask me how do you define six? They said, so,
- 38:04Speaker 1: how did you get to this level of success? And
- 38:06Speaker 1: I said, please define success? Tell me what, Like, how
- 38:09Speaker 1: do what do we quantifying success as? Because if we're
- 38:12Speaker 1: talking about money, that ain't that ain't the success. The
- 38:15Speaker 1: success is completion, starting something and fucking finishing. That's what's
- 38:19Speaker 1: most important to me. Executing building something. That's that's how
- 38:22Speaker 1: I start to look at success and start to build internally.
- 38:25Speaker 4: And when is the timeline of when this is all
- 38:27Speaker 4: kind of starting to go down?
- 38:29Speaker 1: Twenty thirteen?
- 38:31Speaker 4: Oh wow, So I mean it's been a minute. I
- 38:33Speaker 4: mean these days.
- 38:34Speaker 3: You talked about traveling right now, being in Canada for
- 38:37Speaker 3: this opportunity, But are you still on the road as
- 38:40Speaker 3: much as you used to be maybe six seven years ago.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Yes, I'm a new father, so you know at I've
- 38:48Speaker 1: been on the road ten years now, right, like from
- 38:51Speaker 1: Neo to Kevin. I've been traveling from movies to tours
- 38:55Speaker 1: for ten years to my own you know, training Now
- 38:58Speaker 1: that I have a son, I don't know, Like I'm
- 39:01Speaker 1: in that place of I gotta go home. I have
- 39:04Speaker 1: to work, but I'm not willing to miss out on
- 39:06Speaker 1: those opportunities. Yes, I'm traveling, but I'm putting myself. So
- 39:10Speaker 1: I've been gone six weeks. Okay, after seven week seven,
- 39:14Speaker 1: it's time to go home. Like because right now on
- 39:16Speaker 1: a pandemic, this would all be great if I was
- 39:19Speaker 1: able to go home on a weekend. We're literally we
- 39:21Speaker 1: can't go home right now, you know what I'm saying.
- 39:23Speaker 1: We are locked, like we can't travel in and out
- 39:27Speaker 1: of the country. And I'm okay with that, right the sacrifice,
- 39:29Speaker 1: you know, I live on sacrifice who you are for
- 39:31Speaker 1: who you can become. But at this point, I'm trying
- 39:33Speaker 1: to become a great father and that you know, and
- 39:35Speaker 1: I want to learn, I want to be better, and
- 39:37Speaker 1: I want to see my son. Those are the decisions
- 39:41Speaker 1: I have to make now. I have different things to
- 39:43Speaker 1: think about.
- 39:44Speaker 3: When you look back on the past ten years of
- 39:47Speaker 3: being on the road and really homing in on your
- 39:49Speaker 3: craft and being an entrepreneur, and you have to think
- 39:52Speaker 3: about the different tidbits of advice that you have received.
- 39:54Speaker 3: Can you identify one or two of the best pieces
- 39:58Speaker 3: of advice that you've been offered long this journey.
- 40:01Speaker 1: The best pieces of advice. It goes back to that
- 40:04Speaker 1: jack of all trade and a master of none, right,
- 40:07Speaker 1: and get to a point like getting to a point
- 40:10Speaker 1: to diversify, right. And I'm always like, I want people
- 40:15Speaker 1: to represent I want to represent wellness in its highest capacity,
- 40:18Speaker 1: and I want to represent opportunity. That piece of advice
- 40:21Speaker 1: sticks out to me the most. My mom, God rest
- 40:24Speaker 1: her soul. She said, when you point a finger three
- 40:26Speaker 1: or pointing back at you right, And so that sticks
- 40:30Speaker 1: out to me all the time. It's like when you're
- 40:32Speaker 1: ready to point the finger at someone about what they did,
- 40:34Speaker 1: look at what you did, Look what you did or
- 40:36Speaker 1: didn't do right, and be willing to put yourself on
- 40:38Speaker 1: that same chopping block. So that's what it.
- 40:41Speaker 4: Is, also of what you didn't do.
- 40:43Speaker 3: I think that sometimes we neglect or overlook the stuff
- 40:47Speaker 3: that didn't happen because we're so focused on what's going on.
- 40:50Speaker 3: And sometimes you need to do that that retrospective analysis
- 40:54Speaker 3: of you know, what should I have done that I
- 40:56Speaker 3: didn't do. You have a sizeable social media following a
- 41:00Speaker 3: lot of those people that come to your page, they
- 41:02Speaker 3: see you. They see a guy that likes to work
- 41:05Speaker 3: out and get after it. When you look in the mirror,
- 41:07Speaker 3: what is it that you see looking back at you.
- 41:11Speaker 1: When I look in the mirror, I see a guy
- 41:13Speaker 1: that is determined, but also I'm faulty and I'm working
- 41:18Speaker 1: to be the most accountable me. Right. I go back
- 41:24Speaker 1: to a principle, Right, like I'm a hell of a
- 41:27Speaker 1: hard worker. In any face that you put me in,
- 41:30Speaker 1: I'm consistent. I am very confident. I think that sometimes
- 41:35Speaker 1: my confidence can be mistaken for arrogance, but I'm okay
- 41:38Speaker 1: with that because you work for that. But you have
- 41:40Speaker 1: to have confidence when you believe in yourself and you're
- 41:43Speaker 1: taking risk and you're taking chance. I'm looking at a
- 41:45Speaker 1: guy that just wants to be a better father, a
- 41:47Speaker 1: better husband, a better friend. Most of all, the thing
- 41:52Speaker 1: that stands out to me the most when I look
- 41:53Speaker 1: at myself in the mirror is a guy that's going
- 41:55Speaker 1: to be consistent. I said this the other day, consistency
- 41:59Speaker 1: over sensation every time. You know, do I want to
- 42:03Speaker 1: be the superstar? Like a superstar is the guy that
- 42:05Speaker 1: consistently plays good every night, not one of two nights.
- 42:09Speaker 1: That's me. That's what I represent. I want to represent
- 42:11Speaker 1: the guy that is consistent, moral was sensational.
- 42:14Speaker 4: I love that.
- 42:15Speaker 3: I love that idea of being the superstar and being
- 42:18Speaker 3: able to give a good performance stay in and day out.
- 42:21Speaker 3: You right now have an opportunity to offer yourself. Looking
- 42:25Speaker 3: back on it, a piece of advice. Going through a
- 42:29Speaker 3: hurdle moment, the one where you had to pivot and
- 42:32Speaker 3: step away from your original dreams of being in the NFL,
- 42:36Speaker 3: so you have an opportunity to offer yourself a piece
- 42:39Speaker 3: of advice looking back on those times.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Now, what do you tell yourself?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Job, well done? But I want to leave you with.
- 42:47Speaker 4: Something right Yeah, I'm ready for it.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Right like, and I want to leave you and whoever
- 42:51Speaker 1: else wants to listen. Your opportunity is on the other
- 42:56Speaker 1: side of your fear. That shit is real. I'm going
- 42:59Speaker 1: to give you some passion real quick. I decided the
- 43:02Speaker 1: hardest thing in my life, the only thing I ever
- 43:04Speaker 1: thought my family members being, you know, like first round
- 43:07Speaker 1: draft picks, that football wasn't for me. But had I
- 43:11Speaker 1: not had I had I fucking hung my hat on
- 43:13Speaker 1: something that obviously was not for me, I would not
- 43:17Speaker 1: be where I'm at today. Right, So take a chance
- 43:20Speaker 1: on yourself. Don't be afraid to go. You know what,
- 43:23Speaker 1: This didn't work and you can call it, you know,
- 43:26Speaker 1: if you don't want to call it failure, don't call
- 43:28Speaker 1: it failure. To find things for yourself to make you
- 43:31Speaker 1: push through whatever it takes you to fucking be the
- 43:35Speaker 1: best individual that you need to be be it and
- 43:38Speaker 1: understand that today Ron Boss everline you would not be
- 43:41Speaker 1: listening to me. Had I allowed my idea that I
- 43:45Speaker 1: was only a football player and the capacity in which
- 43:48Speaker 1: that that that's what I was going to be in
- 43:50Speaker 1: the world, was it for me? I would not be
- 43:53Speaker 1: here today being able to share this story about hope
- 43:56Speaker 1: and living the and living your passion and living out
- 43:59Speaker 1: the dream. I didn't even know this was my dream.
- 44:01Speaker 1: That's what I want to share. Like that, your opportunity
- 44:04Speaker 1: is on the other side of your fear. When you
- 44:06Speaker 1: decide to go let me get out of my own way,
- 44:08Speaker 1: things started to change, Shit started to happen, And so
- 44:12Speaker 1: don't focus on being happy, focus on being grateful because
- 44:16Speaker 1: gratefulness is a mindset and a lifestyle.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Happiness is the moment not lost for passion on Boss. Yeah, yeah,
- 44:24Speaker 4: thank you so much. How can the hurdlers keep up
- 44:27Speaker 4: with you? How can they stay in the loop? Give
- 44:29Speaker 4: me all of your details.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I'm just trained. You can type, just train in on
- 44:33Speaker 1: most things. We have a website, jet we sell just
- 44:35Speaker 1: train merch. You can follow Yeah, Facebook is Ron Boss
- 44:39Speaker 1: everline just trained with Boss. Please understand that we're training
- 44:43Speaker 1: our minds and out our bodies. That's most of all
- 44:45Speaker 1: what I want to leave you with because we can
- 44:47Speaker 1: accomplish anything when we start to equip ourselves mentally first.
- 44:52Speaker 1: So understand that you can get any goal you want
- 44:55Speaker 1: as long as you decide mentally.
- 44:57Speaker 3: I am Emilia Vodi hurd past, another hurdle conquered.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Catch you guys next time.
