- 0:06Speaker 1: Show here at one oh one one w jr R
- 0:08Speaker 1: in Orlando, Florida. I'm Pad Lynch.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm Taco Bob, and thanks for joining us.
- 0:14Speaker 1: I would like you to share what you just shared
- 0:16Speaker 1: with me so the listeners know if you have to
- 0:18Speaker 1: inexplicably get up and exit stage left.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I told him, I said, kind of got a you know,
- 0:26Speaker 2: I don't want to start the podcast like this, but
- 0:27Speaker 2: I'm like, I kind of got a pinch one. He goes,
- 0:29Speaker 2: can you make it through the podact? I get, yeah,
- 0:31Speaker 2: I can make it.
- 0:32Speaker 1: And then well, no, he's probably not going to be
- 0:35Speaker 1: able to.
- 0:36Speaker 2: And then if I don't make it through myself, just
- 0:38Speaker 2: sit on the can right here.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I'd prefer you don't do that. I think I could
- 0:43Speaker 1: probably cover for you for a few minutes. You've witnessed
- 0:46Speaker 1: it before, Oh I haven't. I don't want to. There's
- 0:48Speaker 1: certain things that once is enough to see. Yeah, and
- 0:52Speaker 1: that was and as many years ago, it's one of
- 0:54Speaker 1: those visuals that I cannot scrub from my mental rolodex.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It was during a flat Oh, by the way, Yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 2: this month, Pat and I have worked together thirty years,
- 1:05Speaker 2: which is simply amazing at radios, and we thank you.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Seen a few things over the years.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yeah, and thank you for listening to the show, because
- 1:14Speaker 2: whether you listen just the podcast or the show in general,
- 1:17Speaker 2: we don't have a show without you, So thanks for
- 1:19Speaker 2: helping us make it this long.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Look, whether you give us two minutes or two hours,
- 1:24Speaker 1: we're grateful for anything, because it all matters, It all
- 1:26Speaker 1: adds up, and it all keeps us doing what we
- 1:29Speaker 1: love and we'll continue to do so as long as
- 1:32Speaker 1: you'll have us, and we truly mean that.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah, hopefully some of you won your way into tomorrow's
- 1:38Speaker 2: party that we're going to do several of these throughout
- 1:40Speaker 2: the years. It don't worry so anyway.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Data I elaborate on that again for the cause we're
- 1:45Speaker 1: getting a lot of people asking about this was some
- 1:47Speaker 1: sort of last minute deal that's been sort of thrown together,
- 1:50Speaker 1: and we're not really quite sure how it's all going
- 1:52Speaker 1: to unfold. We know we got a cover band, the
- 1:53Speaker 1: seven eight Nines, playing, there's going to be free food
- 1:56Speaker 1: from Big Taco. Thank you to them, our friends from
- 1:59Speaker 1: Mick Altra are showing up, so can we know what
- 2:02Speaker 1: that means?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yep, So thank you to you. If you don't make
- 2:06Speaker 2: it in for tomorrow's thing, like, if you don't get picked,
- 2:09Speaker 2: don't worry. We're gonna be doing several of these the
- 2:12Speaker 2: rest of this.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Year where anybody could come. Yeah, so that's what I
- 2:15Speaker 1: wanted to make sure was clear. Here. Don't feel like
- 2:18Speaker 1: we're snubbing you, because that is not at all what's happening. Yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 2: But anyway, back to the Flatulid Friday. We were doing
- 2:25Speaker 2: a flatulid Friday show. Probably would you said twenty years ago.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Please explain what that is for anyone who might be
- 2:31Speaker 1: a newer listener or maybe wasn't even alive when we
- 2:34Speaker 1: were doing that, that could that is possible?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Oh, I know I used to and I still can.
- 2:41Speaker 2: But I could swallow air and make myself fart, like
- 2:46Speaker 2: swallow it then don't burp it up and it all
- 2:49Speaker 2: turns into gas. And this was kind of shocked pad
- 2:54Speaker 2: a little bit, I think, and I believe.
- 2:55Speaker 1: It because I do, truly, honestly think your innerds are
- 3:00Speaker 1: are plumped differently than most people.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Knock on wood that they're all right, but so uh
- 3:07Speaker 2: then we and we do Flaps on Friday, where we
- 3:09Speaker 2: just it was a very immature show and we've been
- 3:12Speaker 2: shirttened out and then throughout the show fart into the
- 3:15Speaker 2: microphone and uh, one day I swallowed a bunch of
- 3:19Speaker 2: air fart and everything was good.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I go, oh, no, I go, I gotta go.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Pacos sit on the bucket and I.
- 3:29Speaker 1: He literally it was. It was like the point of
- 3:32Speaker 1: no return there was.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I could not make three steps out of the studio
- 3:35Speaker 2: without it happening. So I did. I went in the
- 3:38Speaker 2: trash can, and then the irony I'm running out. I'm like,
- 3:42Speaker 2: I can't leave this bag.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Full of They use those thin clear trash can liners here.
- 3:48Speaker 1: They always have good points. That's what was in this thing.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So good point about the clear bag, because I'm getting
- 3:57Speaker 2: it out of the studio, Like, I gotta get this
- 3:59Speaker 2: out of here and throw in the dumpster. Ever believe
- 4:01Speaker 2: you kind of told me to and so you've got
- 4:03Speaker 2: to get that out.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Yeah, please get it's gonna leave, it's gonna linger, and
- 4:07Speaker 1: I this is gross enough as it is. Please.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So I'm running down the back stairwell thinking that I'm
- 4:12Speaker 2: all sly to not see anybody. So I'm not standing
- 4:16Speaker 2: in the elevator with a bag full of ria and
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm I'm running.
- 4:21Speaker 1: That's what it was. That's a perfect description.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm running down the elevator stairs and there it
- 4:27Speaker 2: is the cleaning lady. Or it might have been a cleaning.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Guy running down the elevator stairs.
- 4:32Speaker 2: No, I was running down the stairs. Sorry, like wait,
- 4:35Speaker 2: which was now because I didn't want to take the
- 4:38Speaker 2: elevator with a with a bag of rhea. So I
- 4:41Speaker 2: was running down the backstairs thinking, okay, nobody will see me.
- 4:44Speaker 2: And there it is. I'm holding the bag and there's
- 4:47Speaker 2: the cleaning person in the stairwell. I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 4:51Speaker 2: somebody got sick in a trash can. I'm just throwing
- 4:53Speaker 2: it out there, like say.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Why was the cleaning person in the when they were
- 4:59Speaker 1: they doing it? Smoke in the stair Spanish? Remember were
- 5:03Speaker 1: they taking a smoke breaking the stairwell? Remember they used
- 5:06Speaker 1: to do that here. I don't know who exactly Taco
- 5:10Speaker 1: used to do that.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I did not smoke in the stairwalls.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Somebody, there are a lot of people. Did anybody who
- 5:16Speaker 1: still works here? No, but statue of limitations is up
- 5:19Speaker 1: and they don't even work here anymore. Yeah, out with it.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Last name rhymes with box. It's a kind of animal fox. Oh,
- 5:33Speaker 2: but I think that's why the cleaning person was in
- 5:36Speaker 2: the stairwell. I think they were sweeping up the sig box.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Probably are any memos on that were there over the years,
- 5:42Speaker 1: And everybody's like, just put a camera in there. Yeah,
- 5:45Speaker 1: just put a camera in there.
- 5:47Speaker 2: But that's the problem. Yeah, it's a stairwall.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It's a common space, not.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Like it's in the bathroom.
- 5:55Speaker 1: What.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Now, now the change is instead of smelling sig
- 5:59Speaker 2: smoking there when you're when you're going, now, instead the
- 6:02Speaker 2: elevator opens, it smells like a wafting cloud of pot.
- 6:06Speaker 2: If I get in after another certain coworker every time
- 6:10Speaker 2: smells like weed. Every single time. It's like they must
- 6:14Speaker 2: just hit the weed pipe right before exiting. I'll admit
- 6:18Speaker 2: sometimes I fart in the elevator right before I exit
- 6:21Speaker 2: for the next person to get it with the weed.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Come on, I have a question on that.
- 6:26Speaker 2: This is a professional building.
- 6:28Speaker 1: With professional individuals. I have a question on that.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Besides the fourth floor of us.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Yeah, why in the world would you Because I know
- 6:38Speaker 1: who you're talking about. Yeah, and they have their card
- 6:41Speaker 1: or whatever they want to call it. Great, that's fine,
- 6:45Speaker 1: whatever works for you. I why you can't wait fifteen
- 6:50Speaker 1: more seconds to just leave the building and do it.
- 6:55Speaker 1: What's the need in the attraction to have to do
- 6:58Speaker 1: it inside the closed elevator?
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and then others have to deal with it? Or
- 7:04Speaker 2: why not? This is right and they get to work.
- 7:06Speaker 2: So why not hit it in your car before you
- 7:09Speaker 2: get out of your.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Car, or stand by the side of your car and do.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It and smoke it there and then Yeah, I don't know.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I don't get that anyway. This has been one of
- 7:22Speaker 1: those weeks where and I think most of us, you know,
- 7:25Speaker 1: if if you have a regular job, you get a
- 7:29Speaker 1: routine down right, yeah, or even even if you don't work,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you still have somewhat of a daily routine that you stick.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I feel like the whole thing was up ended earlier
- 7:39Speaker 1: this week with that whole dog episode in our front yard. Man,
- 7:43Speaker 1: oh god, that just again. No, I just I'm still
- 7:46Speaker 1: just It's just it's one of those things that's staying
- 7:48Speaker 1: with me, even though I you know, I shouldn't be
- 7:53Speaker 1: as wound up in this as I am. Now I
- 7:54Speaker 1: should see my wife.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Now it's coming. Now it's staying with me. I was
- 7:59Speaker 2: greeted with yesterday when I walked in the gym, the
- 8:02Speaker 2: uh Mary who works the front door. Oh, she asked
- 8:04Speaker 2: you about Diehard Lessener. We played one of you say
- 8:08Speaker 2: we play at request that she had your stones.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Yeah, uh no.
- 8:13Speaker 2: She said, hey, Taco, any updates on the on the dog?
- 8:16Speaker 2: And I said yeah, and she I said it.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Died and she going what yeah, yeah this this, I'll
- 8:23Speaker 1: just I'll show you.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, really please.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I know you don't want to hear this. You're not
- 8:26Speaker 1: a real dog person. You don't care.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But it's not It's just that I feel bad.
- 8:30Speaker 1: It makes me. The story is so just out of bounds, man.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I know That's why it makes me feel bad running here.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And I'm like, my dog started going crazy the other day.
- 8:40Speaker 2: It was about twelve thirty, early afternoon. He's barking his
- 8:45Speaker 2: head off out the front and he you know he does.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That's his window and he reacts to people and things
- 8:50Speaker 2: going by. But he is going non stop ballistic. It's
- 8:52Speaker 2: more than the old ups truck going.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Right right right. And I'm like, what what what? What is?
- 8:57Speaker 1: And I'm looking I don't see anything like, what are
- 9:00Speaker 1: you doing? And so I go over to where he's at,
- 9:03Speaker 1: and then I see what looks like the hind quarters
- 9:06Speaker 1: of a dog on its side right by the front
- 9:09Speaker 1: of our house. So I poked my head out the
- 9:11Speaker 1: front door. There's some dude kneeling down in our flower bed.
- 9:15Speaker 1: He's got our hose out, and this large old labrador
- 9:20Speaker 1: is on its side having a heat stroke, panting uncontrollably,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and he's panicking. Is this not my dog? I just
- 9:29Speaker 1: was asked to take it for a walk. And he's
- 9:32Speaker 1: spraying water all over this thing, trying to cool it down,
- 9:35Speaker 1: and I'm like, what the world happened here? Man? He
- 9:38Speaker 1: told us where he lived, which was down the street.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I've never seen this guy before, but he lived a
- 9:44Speaker 1: few streets over and he had walked this elderly, overweight
- 9:48Speaker 1: lab would ended up being a probably a couple miles
- 9:52Speaker 1: in the middle of the day with the heat we've
- 9:54Speaker 1: had this week, with no water, and they get on
- 9:58Speaker 1: their way back and this dog just gives out in
- 10:00Speaker 1: the street in front of us. So he sees the
- 10:03Speaker 1: hose on the front of our house. He scoops the
- 10:05Speaker 1: thing up and he brings it up there. So that's
- 10:06Speaker 1: where we're at. Long story short, the wife and I
- 10:09Speaker 1: are both out there like, dude, we're gonna pull our
- 10:12Speaker 1: car up. We're gonna take you up to this emergency
- 10:14Speaker 1: VET at the corner. Is that cool? He goes, well, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 1: and I'm like, we'll just get you there. Then let's
- 10:20Speaker 1: just get the poor dog there.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Did you back her car right up on the grass?
- 10:24Speaker 1: No, we just pulled up to the He had already
- 10:27Speaker 1: walked the dog down to the street, so we just
- 10:29Speaker 1: pulled up, open up the hatch, put the dog in there,
- 10:31Speaker 1: had the ac crank in. Five minutes later, we had
- 10:34Speaker 1: the dog at the emergency vat they came out with
- 10:36Speaker 1: a stretcher.
- 10:37Speaker 2: The dog still yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Non stop, non stop, non stop. So we left. Yeah,
- 10:43Speaker 1: we left him there and we never heard back. We
- 10:46Speaker 1: didn't know one way or other. And we were just like,
- 10:48Speaker 1: what do you think happened? What do you think? And
- 10:50Speaker 1: I had to gut feeling and said that dog was old, elderly, overweight,
- 10:54Speaker 1: it was the heat of the day. I don't think
- 10:57Speaker 1: it had a happy ending. And so my wife the
- 10:59Speaker 1: next day they actually went up to that emergency VET
- 11:02Speaker 1: and asked if she could get an update and they
- 11:05Speaker 1: reluctantly gave it to her.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Like, hey, I'm the one that dropped this dog off
- 11:08Speaker 2: to help somebody out, and yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Dog did not make it.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And when you started this, just for the record, you said,
- 11:15Speaker 2: you said it's because you don't like dogs. They had
- 11:17Speaker 2: nothing to do with that. It's because it's a depressing story.
- 11:20Speaker 2: It feels so bad for it, but it's a story.
- 11:23Speaker 2: When you hear you're like, you gotta be kidding.
- 11:25Speaker 1: That happened.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Mind numbing.
- 11:27Speaker 1: And I just what I think what irritates me is
- 11:33Speaker 1: this the situation never should have even presented itself. Now,
- 11:36Speaker 1: a little common sense, whether it's your dog or not,
- 11:39Speaker 1: this is an old dog. It's you know, it doesn't
- 11:42Speaker 1: get around real good. If you're gonna take it for
- 11:44Speaker 1: a walk, make it a short walk, and don't do it,
- 11:46Speaker 1: for the love of God, in the middle of a
- 11:48Speaker 1: heat wave, in the middle of a.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Day, do it for a block, right, even like Teddy,
- 11:52Speaker 2: If we're gonna take Teddy for a walk, it's one
- 11:55Speaker 2: lap around the neighborhood. He craps four times and then
- 11:58Speaker 2: you know, it's like comments.
- 12:01Speaker 1: So anyway, back to my original thought, that happened, and
- 12:03Speaker 1: I was just like thrown out of routine for the
- 12:08Speaker 1: week man.
- 12:08Speaker 2: There was that. Then there was Tuesday, and that's what
- 12:11Speaker 2: I thought you were gonna bring up. Tuesday we had
- 12:13Speaker 2: the karaoke or employee rally. I thought that was what
- 12:20Speaker 2: threw you for a loop.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Well that that didn't help, which being two o'clock in
- 12:24Speaker 1: the afternoon downtown, I'm sure you were thrilled with the
- 12:27Speaker 1: time too. Yeah, there was that, and then oh and
- 12:32Speaker 1: then the the capp or was I don't know, maybe
- 12:34Speaker 1: we just have a theme with heat going this week.
- 12:38Speaker 1: The part on the AC broke, part of the a
- 12:41Speaker 1: C broke and we had to shut the system down
- 12:43Speaker 1: and got Mills out there right away. God bless Mills.
- 12:46Speaker 1: They discovered what the issue was, ordered the part. They
- 12:49Speaker 1: should be back today to fix it. But talk about
- 12:51Speaker 1: a bad week to have the AC go out, right.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the third third things that charm uk, the dog,
- 12:57Speaker 2: the met employee rally, with other stuff that you do. Yeah,
- 13:01Speaker 2: and then I forgot about the AC port.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yeah. So I'm going to be very happy to get
- 13:07Speaker 1: to Friday tomorrow and oh yeah, have a weekend, man,
- 13:11Speaker 1: the weekend's gonna be fun. With the Longwood deal, we
- 13:13Speaker 1: got going.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that'd be cool. Freedom Rocket Fireworks. We do it
- 13:17Speaker 2: every year right there in Ryder Park. It's free to
- 13:20Speaker 2: get in Saturday night.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah, right off of four point thirty four in Longwood.
- 13:25Speaker 1: They start the festivities at five. It's a family gathering.
- 13:29Speaker 1: They have some bands play, there's kids.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Activities, food trucks, food trucks.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Beer, whatever you want, and then it's a good time.
- 13:36Speaker 1: They wrap it up with fireworks. It's pretty good fireworks
- 13:39Speaker 1: display too there in the city of Longwood. And they
- 13:41Speaker 1: always do it ahead of everybody else, which I respect
- 13:44Speaker 1: because they're like, we're not trying to do a huge
- 13:46Speaker 1: production here. It's you know, it's a smaller park. It's
- 13:49Speaker 1: more intimate. There's lots of people who go and there's
- 13:52Speaker 1: plenty of room for everyone. But it's they're like, look,
- 13:55Speaker 1: we do our thing, let everybody else do theirs, you know,
- 13:58Speaker 1: and fight it out the actual Fourth of July weekend.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And it's grown over the years. It's cool to see.
- 14:04Speaker 1: It's excellent. Yeah, it's excellent.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Everybody bringing their family out. You know, they got like
- 14:09Speaker 2: some of them the kids are in a wagon, pulling
- 14:11Speaker 2: them in the wagon from the car. Cool because I
- 14:14Speaker 2: remember all the fireworks when I was a kid. I'll
- 14:17Speaker 2: never forget it. And I've talked about this before. Go
- 14:20Speaker 2: down to the Navy base in winter Park and we
- 14:24Speaker 2: just walk to the Navy base, even though it was
- 14:26Speaker 2: like a you know, mile and I had two mile walk,
- 14:30Speaker 2: but you just walk it. And then Lake BoNT you
- 14:33Speaker 2: know where Lake Bonnt Avenue is in winter Park. That
- 14:37Speaker 2: that the Winter Park Hospitals on the uh that street
- 14:40Speaker 2: was lined with people walking there and then at points
- 14:43Speaker 2: some people just sat right there and watched it was
- 14:45Speaker 2: It was a great childhood.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Speaking of childhood, I loved fireworks as a kid. I
- 14:50Speaker 1: still love fireworks, the fireworks displays that I love that.
- 14:55Speaker 1: But I was terrified of the cannon at the circus.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Really yeah, I was absolutely terrified of the cannon being
- 15:04Speaker 1: shot off inside of the circus.
- 15:07Speaker 2: You thought of misfires.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I do not know why to this day why. I
- 15:12Speaker 1: just I didn't want any part of that.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't that loud, no, but.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I'm a little kid and I had something in my
- 15:18Speaker 1: head thinking that. But maybe it had something to do
- 15:20Speaker 1: with the dude being fired out of it.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, this doesn't seem fair, this is cruel.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Can help but think my father blessed, you know, rest
- 15:31Speaker 1: in peace. Dad probably just look at me like, what
- 15:34Speaker 1: kind of pussy are you? Man? It's it's they're.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Gonna shoot this stupid cloud out of that.
- 15:39Speaker 1: That's awesome, Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey, Sir, that's when
- 15:43Speaker 1: the circus was really still the circus.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, elephants the whole whip them and stuff into shape.
- 15:49Speaker 1: You know, now we give them a little We're not
- 15:52Speaker 1: advocating for that, no, don't. Yeah. So anyway, what else
- 15:59Speaker 1: you got for us this week? Anything?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Hopefully we'll see you out at some of the festivities
