- 0:04Speaker 1: Well, good morning, ruminators. Wherever you are listening to us
- 0:08Speaker 1: from however you are listening to us, we appreciate it.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Thanks so much, appreciate you sharing time. He is Jose,
- 0:17Speaker 1: I am Preston, and this is the gun Writer. Gun
- 0:21Speaker 1: Writer is Lee Williams. You can find his work at
- 0:23Speaker 1: Thegunwriter dot substack dot com.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Lee.
- 0:26Speaker 1: How are you, sir good Man?
- 0:28Speaker 2: How are you doing?
- 0:29Speaker 1: I'm doing well. I will admit I'm probably not nearly
- 0:32Speaker 1: as frustrated as you are because you've invested so much
- 0:36Speaker 1: time and have tried so hard to help Tate Adamiac.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Before we get an update, let's backtrack. For any new listener,
- 0:46Speaker 1: give us the sixty second overview of Tate's story.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Sure Tate. It was an active duty sailor who had
- 0:52Speaker 2: been accepted to go to and attend seal school. However,
- 0:56Speaker 2: before he could go, the ATF hit his house. Tate
- 0:59Speaker 2: had a hobby of selling gun parts. He never sold firearms,
- 1:04Speaker 2: and they kicked on his door. They ripped open his safes,
- 1:06Speaker 2: and they found nothing illegal. Rather than let him go
- 1:11Speaker 2: and say, have a good seal school, they manufactured illegal items.
- 1:15Speaker 2: They turned a toy gun he had into it and
- 1:17Speaker 2: called it a machine gun. They brought in this cat
- 1:20Speaker 2: that just really rammed him, and he got a twenty
- 1:24Speaker 2: year sentence. And he is just starting the third year
- 1:27Speaker 2: of his twenty year sentence behind bars. He's up at
- 1:29Speaker 2: a federal prison, a horrible federal prison in Fort Dixon,
- 1:32Speaker 2: New Jersey.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And when you say manufactured evidence, that is a literal statement.
- 1:40Speaker 2: That is, they took RPGs that he had, which were
- 1:43Speaker 2: completely legal. They've been stripped to their parts. One was
- 1:45Speaker 2: a training RPG. He never had any parts in it,
- 1:48Speaker 2: and they put in a basically a rifle, a barrel
- 1:52Speaker 2: and an action. They fired a seven sixt two round.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Andy said, oh, it's a grenade launcher. Well, it's not
- 1:58Speaker 2: that they've worked on it with their parts. I mean,
- 2:00Speaker 2: the ATF is enough RPG parts there they could make
- 2:03Speaker 2: ten active RPGs. It's disgusting. It was terrible. Now we've
- 2:09Speaker 2: got a new ATF. Okay, we've got no longer have
- 2:15Speaker 2: the Biden ATF. We've got a new ATF. They have
- 2:18Speaker 2: stopped this kind of crap. But meanwhile Tate remains behind bars.
- 2:24Speaker 1: You wrote an update just a few days ago, well
- 2:27Speaker 1: about ten days ago, Lee, Where where are things right?
- 2:32Speaker 1: Now in appeals and re sentencing because they dropped some charges,
- 2:37Speaker 1: but they didn't find that there was anything grossly incorrect
- 2:41Speaker 1: in that first trial.
- 2:42Speaker 2: It's not the ATF's fault, it's the dealj's fault. From
- 2:45Speaker 2: what I'm understanding, I think the deal I mean, if
- 2:51Speaker 2: you're the ATF, the new ATF had, and you've got
- 2:53Speaker 2: this cat in prison for twenty years and you look
- 2:57Speaker 2: at the charges, you know, damn well, he did nothing wrong.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I mean, he was charged for possessing a seventy five
- 3:03Speaker 2: dollars toy, things like that, you know. They charged him
- 3:08Speaker 2: for the fake RPGs, which were not real. They charged
- 3:11Speaker 2: him for four machine guns because he had four highly
- 3:14Speaker 2: sought after pre ban open bolt semile pistols and car beings,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and they tried to charge him with nine hundred and
- 3:21Speaker 2: seventy seven machine guns for pieces of metal which are
- 3:23Speaker 2: known as mac platz. Fortunately, they got a former ATF official,
- 3:27Speaker 2: Daniel G. O kelly, who testified that these charges were crazy,
- 3:31Speaker 2: and they dropped the nine seventy seven machine gun charges
- 3:35Speaker 2: against this work kid. But in the meantime he's sitting
- 3:38Speaker 2: there in prison. I think the new head of ATF
- 3:41Speaker 2: I don't know him. I've spoken to him. I really
- 3:44Speaker 2: hope that he can overcome the zeal at the DOJ
- 3:48Speaker 2: where that wants to keep Tate behind bars. He did
- 3:51Speaker 2: nothing wrong, brother Lee.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I took your latest article on Tate and I sent
- 3:57Speaker 1: it off yesterday to the staff of US Senator Rick Scott. First,
- 4:02Speaker 1: he's a navy guy, but he promised, he promised he
- 4:05Speaker 1: would do what he could to help it. And I'm
- 4:08Speaker 1: trying to nudge past the policy people and say, would
- 4:11Speaker 1: you please put this in front of Senator Scott. He
- 4:13Speaker 1: promised to help, So we'll see what comes of that.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Who if anybody is trying to do some heavy lifting,
- 4:20Speaker 1: because I've been told all along, well, you know, if
- 4:23Speaker 1: you want to get it in front of the president,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you got to pay some high price lobbyists.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, there are some folks and I can't go into
- 4:31Speaker 2: that now, that are working really hard. But Tate's got
- 4:35Speaker 2: to get out. I mean, he's starting his third year.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Every time I talk to him, I'm mystified by how
- 4:41Speaker 2: polite and how nice he is. I mean, his mother
- 4:44Speaker 2: died shortly after he was arrested, and he I mean,
- 4:47Speaker 2: think about that. I hope President Trump can learn of this,
- 4:53Speaker 2: and because he's pardoning people that have committed actual crimes,
- 4:56Speaker 2: Tate never committed a crime, not one, and he's still
- 5:01Speaker 2: behind bars. He's looking at seventeen more years.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Is there any chance at the re sentencing that that
- 5:07Speaker 1: they dropped the thing and let him.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Out depends on how the DOJ responds. Right now. From
- 5:13Speaker 2: what I'm being told by our sources, the DOJ has
- 5:16Speaker 2: hung up on the RPG charge. Well, he had a
- 5:18Speaker 2: rock up propelgrinade launcher. Okay, no he didn't. He had
- 5:21Speaker 2: something that he bought at a fair in California that's
- 5:26Speaker 2: not capable of firing any rockets. And besides California, some
- 5:30Speaker 2: RP Yeah, go get me some RPG rockets, Go buy
- 5:32Speaker 2: something for me. You can't, and you could buy a
- 5:37Speaker 2: much more thorough RPG online right now with money and
- 5:42Speaker 2: no ID or nothing. So it seems like the DOJ
- 5:46Speaker 2: is the big issue right now. They're hung up on well,
- 5:48Speaker 2: you know this could look bad. Yeah, it should look bad.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You've got an innocent man who's already served three years
- 5:53Speaker 2: of his life lost down in attending Bud's seal school.
- 5:58Speaker 2: This is bad, be bad, and you this should never
- 6:01Speaker 2: happen again.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Are any media outlets dealing with this story at all?
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, there are a few. Uh they're all pro gun. Okay,
- 6:15Speaker 2: they're all pro gun. My friend Mark Walters on his
- 6:19Speaker 2: Armed American radio show, we talk about take quite a bit,
- 6:23Speaker 2: but no other than that. No, So it sucks. I
- 6:28Speaker 2: wish we had the I wish we had the traditional
- 6:31Speaker 2: media on board, because here you got a kid who's
- 6:35Speaker 2: completely innocent, who's looking at serving seventeen more years. Unfortunately
- 6:39Speaker 2: in their eyes, Oh my gosh, you had guns. Yeah
- 6:41Speaker 2: he did, and he had a great collection and offered
- 6:45Speaker 2: great services, and he never sold an actual firearm. You know,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I believe that work.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You and I are brainstorming here right now on the radio.
- 6:55Speaker 1: You know who ot to be you know how to
- 6:57Speaker 1: try is CBS News because Very Twiss is now in
- 7:00Speaker 1: charge at CBS and she is forcing them on sixty
- 7:05Speaker 1: Minutes and other outlets to objectively cover stories. This would
- 7:09Speaker 1: fit what she's looking to do.
- 7:13Speaker 2: It would. I hope they get interested in it. We've
- 7:15Speaker 2: had a couple of spurts here and there, but you know,
- 7:19Speaker 2: at the end of the day, the mainstream media is
- 7:21Speaker 2: not going to try and get a guy out of
- 7:23Speaker 2: prison who possessed firearms man the problem.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I remember the days when sixty minutes used to be
- 7:30Speaker 1: a reputable outlet that would investigate things like this and
- 7:34Speaker 1: would actually play a role in getting someone like this released.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That ended decades ago. I know, unfortunately, I know, I know.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Speaking of the media, you've done a story on USA Today.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Tell us about it.
- 7:49Speaker 2: The USA Today is crazy. I mean, if you look
- 7:51Speaker 2: at their circulation, let's just take a second. They were
- 7:54Speaker 2: up to over a million subscribers. Now I don't know
- 7:57Speaker 2: what they have, maybe six. Anyway, in a story, in
- 8:01Speaker 2: a story they published Monday, a reporter C. A. Bridges said,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and I quote, I mean, he said that there have
- 8:12Speaker 2: been six mass shootings in Florida this year. Mass shootings. Well,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I live in Florida. I don't know one. But then
- 8:18Speaker 2: he admitted that he got his numbers from the Gun
- 8:20Speaker 2: Violence Archive, which I've written dozens and dozens of story
- 8:23Speaker 2: about how bad the GVA data is. So this cat
- 8:27Speaker 2: actually wrote in a story and he wrote this in
- 8:29Speaker 2: the story, the GVA numbers which have been disputed by
- 8:32Speaker 2: pro firearm organizations. I guess that's me may differ from
- 8:37Speaker 2: the FBI or CDC as they collect data from blah
- 8:40Speaker 2: blah blah. To be clear, man, I've debunked these guys
- 8:44Speaker 2: dozens of times. It's fake mass shooting data. I've interviewed
- 8:48Speaker 2: their co founder and executive director, Mark Bryant, and he
- 8:53Speaker 2: was at one time he was thinking about stopping the
- 8:55Speaker 2: mass shooting numbers, but he got so many phone calls
- 8:57Speaker 2: he had to keep them up there. And I quote
- 9:00Speaker 2: him from our twenty twenty one interview, if the numbers
- 9:03Speaker 2: are misleading, the journalists didn't do their homework. You could
- 9:06Speaker 2: make that argument, he said during the interview. The media
- 9:09Speaker 2: zero's in on it, not us, But he's the one
- 9:12Speaker 2: turning out all the fake data. Their standard is four
- 9:15Speaker 2: people are shot. If four people are shot, and I'm
- 9:18Speaker 2: not even saying killed. If four people are shot, it's
- 9:21Speaker 2: a mass shooting. So you look at these mass shootings
- 9:25Speaker 2: in Florida, they're all in Jacksonville, they all involve gang members.
- 9:28Speaker 2: They're not mass shootings, they're gang violent.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Lee James Uthmeyer, we were talking about the Attorney General
- 9:34Speaker 1: for the state of Florida. You are a Florida resident.
- 9:38Speaker 1: He's he's been making a lot of news. But as
- 9:40Speaker 1: it relates to the Second Amendment and doing the right
- 9:43Speaker 1: thing by people that have got a bit of a record.
- 9:48Speaker 1: He's really doing the right thing.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, we've got an attorney general who's defending
- 9:53Speaker 2: gun rights. That right there is huge news stop you know,
- 9:56Speaker 2: exclamation point, it's huge, and he's under fire for some
- 10:00Speaker 2: of it. I love the guy. I've never met him,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I don't know him, we've never spoken, but he's right
- 10:06Speaker 2: now he's defending the rights of eighteen, nineteen and twenty
- 10:08Speaker 2: year olds who want to carry concealed firearms. I mean,
- 10:11Speaker 2: this guy is so with it it's almost funny. Compare
- 10:17Speaker 2: him to any of our previous ags, right, and there's
- 10:20Speaker 2: no comparison none. I mean, he's making law, he's citing,
- 10:26Speaker 2: he's creating laws the good way. The fact that we
- 10:29Speaker 2: can have open carry right now, we can thank him
- 10:32Speaker 2: for that too. In Florida, I mean, the current issue
- 10:36Speaker 2: is an eighty seven state law which bars eighteen nineteen
- 10:39Speaker 2: twenty year olds from carrying a concealed gun. He opposes
- 10:44Speaker 2: that is taking steps to address that. I contacted his
- 10:51Speaker 2: office not too long ago and I got a nice
- 10:53Speaker 2: statement from him. We have the duty to enforce Florida
- 10:56Speaker 2: on and don't make these decisions. Lightly said, however, our
- 10:58Speaker 2: first duty is to protect God given rights of Floridians
- 11:01Speaker 2: as guaranteed by the US Constitution. You had a state
- 11:05Speaker 2: prosecutor talking about the US Constitution. Brother, That doesn't happen often,
- 11:09Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 11:10Speaker 1: The case centers around a guy from Pennsylvania, right.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean he came down here, he got arrested,
- 11:21Speaker 2: and he was charged because he was a felon in possession.
- 11:26Speaker 2: That's a different case, but he's a felon in possession.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And Outhmeier said, no, no, we're not going to charge him.
- 11:34Speaker 2: We're not going to charge him. So right now you've
- 11:37Speaker 2: got the eighteen, nineteen twenty year olds, and then you
- 11:38Speaker 2: have the felons in possession. Who if you have a
- 11:41Speaker 2: non violent felony, he believes you have a right to
- 11:44Speaker 2: carry and be around guns. And I totally agree with him.
- 11:47Speaker 1: And that's the key, a non violent felony charge. And
- 11:51Speaker 1: this guy's charge was what two thousand and seven in Pennsylvania.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a it was a gun charge. It's
- 11:59Speaker 2: just stupid. But meanwhile, I think he could make some
- 12:05Speaker 2: national news. I think Florida should be the state where
- 12:07Speaker 2: we have two types of felonies, those that bar you
- 12:10Speaker 2: from having firearms. I mean I'm talking like aggravated assault,
- 12:15Speaker 2: attempted murder, things like that. Of course, most of the
- 12:18Speaker 2: felonies are non violent. I mean they involve taxes or
- 12:22Speaker 2: checks or whatever. So I think I think they should
- 12:27Speaker 2: retain their gun rights. And I think he's really making
- 12:32Speaker 2: a hell of a good move. I mean, it all
- 12:33Speaker 2: evolves Florida State Law seven ninety point twenty three. You
- 12:38Speaker 2: should read his response that he issued to this kid's appeal.
- 12:42Speaker 2: This this man, this prior felon. On studied reflection, the
- 12:48Speaker 2: AG has concluded that the conviction does not indeed infringe
- 12:51Speaker 2: on Morgan's rights as a dangerous felon to keep him
- 12:53Speaker 2: bear does indeed in fringe on Morgan's rights as a
- 12:55Speaker 2: dangerous felon to keep in bear arms. The state must
- 12:58Speaker 2: therefore confess and urge this court to reverse. I mean
- 13:03Speaker 2: that's coming from the AG. I tell you, I've yet
- 13:07Speaker 2: to see a politician make such big, bold progun steps.
- 13:12Speaker 1: But the court at this point is is ignoring that request.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Well, I don't know. I think you ignore the AG
- 13:21Speaker 2: and there's some danger to do it.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, Lee, We're going to follow this as well
- 13:27Speaker 1: as obviously we're going to keep looking at the case
- 13:29Speaker 1: of Tata domiac and hopefully we'll be getting better news
- 13:33Speaker 1: in the time to come. Just real quickly though, when's
- 13:36Speaker 1: Tate's next date that matters?
- 13:38Speaker 2: Well, it's June, but that's probably going to get pushed, okay,
- 13:43Speaker 2: So yeah, we'll.
- 13:45Speaker 1: See we can stir some things up. Yeah, thank you
- 13:47Speaker 1: so much. I appreciate all you're doing.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Thank you sir. Take care
