Transcript
- The Roof Moss Cleaners is a roof cleaning company in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and it has been cleaning roofs under that name since 2013. This is UK Business Voices. The business is run by Gareth Webb and Anthony Holt, the two directors of G and A Property Services Limited, the company they set up in 2026 to carry on The Roof Moss Cleaners name. Each of them has thirteen years in the trade. Before that, both men worked for the business's original founder for more than ten years, cleaning roofs every day of the working week. Between them they have now cleaned more than five thousand roofs, including roofs dating back to the eighteen hundreds and the rooftops of a boarding school in Berkshire. The main work is roof moss removal. The moss is scraped off by hand, and the roof is then given a biocide treatment, sometimes called a softwash, which comes with a three-year moss-free guarantee. They also steam clean roofs, take on commercial roofs, and carry out minor roof repairs. When they clean a roof, they can clear the gutters and clean the fascias and soffits at the same time. Gutters are emptied by industrial vacuum and checked with a camera, with a thirty-day guarantee against blockages. A typical house takes one day. The largest houses they have cleaned took six or seven. Most of their work is in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and they travel further across the South when a job calls for it. Gareth and Anthony carry out the jobs themselves, and they look after customers directly once the work is finished. In the next episodes, you'll hear how they took on the business, and how a roof is cleaned, step by step.
