  And today I'm so excited because I got a chance to interview Zach

  Wickham from the Valley. Like yes, the Valley, he was so

  much fun. He was so off the cuff.

  It was one of the best times I think I've had, especially on a

  Zoom interview. Sometimes those can be awkward,

  but it was honestly the best. He was really warm and inviting

  and I just had a great time chatting with him.

  The fandom is loving you. People all over Reddit have been

  calling you like the breakout * saying that you're the voice of

  reason. Can you tell me what that

  feedback has been like? I mean, let's be real, when

  you're constantly praised, like who doesn't love that?

  But I do feel like it, it's validating to know that like,

  oh, I'm living my true self, my authentic self, which I hate
• 1:11
  that word because you should just be authentic without having
• 1:14
  to say you're authentic. But in the context of this
• 1:17
  question, you know, I'm just myself and to get feedback that
• 1:22
  people like me or like that they respond well or that they are
• 1:28
  inspired by me or whatever, I'm glad that I can bring some joy
• 1:32
  to people's lives. Yeah, I feel like people really
• 1:34
  respect you this season, especially how you've been
• 1:37
  supporting Britney through all the Jacks stuff and we've seen,
• 1:41
  you know, a lot of concerning behavior from Jax and you've had
• 1:44
  some amazing one liners directed towards him.

  What's your experience been supporting Britney like?

  What's your take on all of this? I mean, here's The thing is
• 1:53
  Brittany and I have, we go back to, you know, college.
• 1:57
  So the number one thing that I'm always most concerned and like

  my friends are my family. I'm an only child.

  So when I grew up, I had friends that then became my brothers and

  sisters. Like I, that is what I consider
• 2:14
  family. So any of my friends, I think

  people maybe don't didn't understand that prior to just

  how or like why I'm so loyal or why it matters so much to me.

  It's because it's different to me.

  It's that is my family. And here's the thing I want

  everybody to know. I've supported Jack and Brittany

  together back in the day and kind of was an apologist for a

  little while to try to help their relationship or did what I

  thought was the right thing to get him better in different time
• 2:51
  periods. But the thing that everybody's
• 2:54
  going to always know about me is I'm always going to stand up for

  what I think is right. And I'm and even if Brittany

  didn't like what I was going to say, now I was going to say it
• 3:03
  like I was the first person to say the D word to her.

  I was the first person to say you need a divorce.

  Oh my God, well honestly you are a good friend for that because

  sometimes people just need to hear the truth.

  was asked if he thinks Jax has changed and he said no.

  Are you asking me has he changed or is he?

  No, he's not. Has he changed?

  I don't think he has yet. What's your take on that?

  The proof is in the pudding and the pudding has been left out on

  the counter for a really long time and no one put it back in

  the fridge or like changed it out.

  Like unfortunately, I mean, listen, you see what we see like

  it's and you'll you know what the best, the best thing I can

  say is wait for the reunion and you will see just how he acts

  then, which is a few like I don't know how many months post

  rehab that is. And you'll see the rest of the

  season, you'll just see the the same behaviors over and over.

  And it's like the most disheartening thing is not one

  of us wants ill will towards Jax.

  We all want the best for him. Me confronting him in the

  kitchen last night, Well then walk.

  There's the door. There's the front door.

  I'm going to talk to Brittany and then I'm going to go well.

  Brittany doesn't want to talk to.

  You that's none of your business.

  It's my business. He didn't want to hear those

  truths. Those are all truths.

  And he didn't want to hear it. And he's deflecting back to me.

  He's like, oh, well, you drank. And I'm like, yeah, I do.

  And I go to therapy and what OK, we're not going to do this.

  Let's go back to you and what you're not going to talk about.

  And then he wants to say like, oh, it's not my place.

  I'm sorry. You got you all have made it my

  place over the years. And it's probably more my place
• 4:48
  than even yours at this point. You'll just see he there's not,

  I have not seen the change that I've seen from him in the past.

  I'm no longer holding my breath for that.

  Yeah, fair enough. And I love when he was like,

  it's my show. And you're like, well, it wasn't

  for the past 30 days. You act like it's your money in

  that. Bar it is my money, is it?

  show, not yours. It wasn't for the past 30 days.

  That's a mic drop right there. I'm just like I'm dropping a mic

  OK. So I wanted to pivot a little

  bit because this season we've also seen your relationship with
• 5:30
  Benji play out. Are you guys still together?

  It seems like you are, yeah. We are.

  What's so crazy is I started, we started talking basically right
• 5:40
  at the end of filming Season 1. So before the show it even
• 5:44
  aired, he didn't even know I was on a show.
• 5:47
  Like, he's an optometrist, so he's like, not in this world
• 5:51
  whatsoever. Yeah.
• 5:54
  And it's just like, I think we're about to hit two years and
• 5:58
  you're just meeting him. So it's kind of funny how, like,
• 6:00
  timing works in this world. But yeah, like, we, we're still
• 6:05
  together. We're still trucking along and
• 6:08
  still dealing with the same issues we were before.
• 6:12
  Like, you know, the, like, getting him a work visa the
• 6:16
  proper way, you know, just doing it all.
• 6:18
  And. And now it's like even more
• 6:21
  relevant than ever. Yeah, absolutely.

  So what was it like having I guess the beginning of your
• 6:28
  relationship with cameras up like did that?
• 6:31
  Was that how, how did that conversation even go?
• 6:33
  Like you said when you met, he didn't know you were on a show.

  Like how did you talk to him about being on the show?
• 6:38
  What was that like? The first time I was like, Oh
• 6:40
  yeah, I was like, I have to go do something and I had to go
• 6:43
  film, but I didn't tell him I was going filming.
• 6:45
  And so then I was like, well, I guess I should tell him I like
• 6:48
  went to. So I was like, well, I just went
• 6:49
  and filmed something. He goes, oh, like do you have
• 6:52
  only fans? And I'm like, no, I mean, like,
• 6:56
  thank you for thinking I could have an only fans and people
• 6:59
  would subscribe. But no, it's not only fans.

  And then I like he was he doesn't watch, he doesn't watch
• 7:08
  any TV really, but he really doesn't watch reality TV.

  So he didn't even really understand the concept of it.

  He was like, cool. I think he was thinking more of
• 7:18
  like a game show maybe, or he didn't really understand it.
• 7:21
  And then the show comes out and he's like, this is this is much
• 7:27
  different. And then when he finally comes
• 7:29
  and stays for the summer when he's first on camera, you can I
• 7:32
  kind of threw him to the wolves. I'm not going to lie, I feel
• 7:35
  bad, but I did. And you can kind of tell he's
• 7:38
  like, he's just always eating in the background.
• 7:40
  That's what he always likes to say is I'm just eating in the
• 7:42
  background. But it's so funny because I
• 7:45
  think he just because he didn't care about the cameras, he's
• 7:48
  almost more natural because he could care less that that's
• 7:54
  happening. So it kind of was almost like an
• 7:56
  easy transition into it. Nice, So you feel like it's been

  a pretty good experience so far having your relationship on the
• 8:04
  show? Yeah, I definitely, I feel like
• 8:07
  it's a good experience and I feel like it hasn't really, you
• 8:12
  know, ask me after next season. That's, that's really the, the,
• 8:18
  the tell all is, you know, two seasons under the belt.
• 8:21
  Yeah, yeah, fair enough. So I'm interested in how you
• 8:24
  respond to some of the criticisms around the Valley.

  Obviously, there's a lot of discussion now online about how
• 8:29
  it feels like too dark watching some of these dynamics play out.
• 8:32
  How do you respond to that? Well, number one, life is dark
• 8:35
  sometimes and life is light sometimes.
• 8:38
  And I think the really crazy thing that you get with our show
• 8:41
  that you don't get with any others is nothing is left under
• 8:45
  the rug. We we talk about it and openly.
• 8:50
  And I don't think a lot of other shows do that.
• 8:52
  And so it can come off as dark when really it's we're dealing
• 8:57
  with some dark things. But when you push through that
• 9:00
  darkness, you're going to get to the light.
• 9:02
  But there is a ton of light in the show, It's just we haven't
• 9:06
  gotten there yet because we had to deal with a lot of stuff.

  And I really hope that people stick around.

  And even though it's dark, like, it's more real than anything
• 9:15
  you're probably gonna see. Yeah, and you are a point, a
• 9:18
  light point in the show for sure.

  My last question for you, is there anything that you feel
• 9:22
  like fans are missing the mark on this season so far?
• 9:27
  Fans are the most intuitive, whether they see, even if they
• 9:30
  don't see the full picture on screen or whatever, they already
• 9:34
  clocked it. They know they're not stupid.
• 9:37
  Fans are like, I'm actually like impressed with fans and how
• 9:43
  fought on they can be. So no, I really don't think that
• 9:46
  they're missing anything. I think they they know what
• 9:49
  they're doing. They and they do their.
• 9:53
  Yeah, well, it's it's coming off such an iconic series, right?
• 9:57
  So of course, like these people have been in the trenches with
• 9:59
  you guys for like 10 plus years. They will pull things from
• 10:03
  forever ago. It's really, it is kind of crazy

  sometimes. But no, I think fans, they know
• 10:08
  what's going on and they see it. And luckily our show isn't
• 10:11
  trying to hide anything either. So, you know, I think they're
• 10:15
  just following the story exactly how it is.
