- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites, presented by Draft Kings. The Crown
- 0:13Speaker 1: is yours. We are an Action Network podcast. I'm Brandon Kravitz,
- 0:17Speaker 1: your host, back at it with the crew, the Prime
- 0:19Speaker 1: Minister of Dgen Nation, Stuckey, the first Lady of the pod,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Kendra Middleton, em and Abrams stat sound always on the
- 0:26Speaker 1: ready as well. Doctor David Chow, a former team doctor
- 0:31Speaker 1: in the NFL, analyzes injuries on Twitter. You've probably seen
- 0:35Speaker 1: his videos before, whether you realize it or not. He's
- 0:37Speaker 1: one of the best in the industry talking about this
- 0:40Speaker 1: violent sport that we love.
- 0:42Speaker 2: He joins us later on in the show, Kendro.
- 0:46Speaker 1: The World Cup Final is set Spain versus Argentina. I'm
- 0:50Speaker 1: a little bit disappointed to see my France ticket die
- 0:54Speaker 1: on the vine, but this has to be soccer heaven
- 0:57Speaker 1: for you.
- 0:59Speaker 2: It's not.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Actually was cheering for both France and England, so a
- 1:03Speaker 3: little bit of a loss for me. I'll give you
- 1:05Speaker 3: my TLDR of the game yesterday. I'm gonna say bad subs.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Was very confused by them. England played not to lose
- 1:13Speaker 3: far too soon. The fact that it happened in Mercedes
- 1:15Speaker 3: Benz was giving twenty eight to three. I never expected
- 1:18Speaker 3: Jordan Pickford to have the game of his life yesterday
- 1:21Speaker 3: and truly be the MVP. But my question for you guys,
- 1:25Speaker 3: is this England national team more like the Toronto Maple
- 1:28Speaker 3: Leaves of soccer or the Buffalo Bills of soccer.
- 1:33Speaker 1: I'm not incredible enough to comment on the Toronto Maple
- 1:36Speaker 1: Leaves of soccer, but I do know that Canada has
- 1:38Speaker 1: been failing miserably in the NHL, and you would think
- 1:42Speaker 1: that Canada hockey country would do well. Not that all
- 1:47Speaker 1: of their players are from Canada. It's not like the
- 1:49Speaker 1: national team, but that's how people talk about it. I
- 1:51Speaker 1: think in that way because didn't soccer originate in England.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Didn't they start the sport there? It's their thing.
- 1:58Speaker 1: So I would say, even though I'm not qualified to
- 2:00Speaker 1: comment on this, I'm gonna say Toronto anyway.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Okay, that's that's it. I also love you mean little
- 2:06Speaker 3: Mama's little brother. I love him, he's so cute.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We get Lamina mal the up and coming star of
- 2:14Speaker 1: soccer against the Goat and Messi Docky. This is like
- 2:20Speaker 1: this is like Mahomes and Brady meeting in the Super Bowl.
- 2:22Speaker 1: That would be the closest comparison I could come up with.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Sure, Yeah, I thought England was. It was just went
- 2:31Speaker 4: into prevent defense with like a one possession lead for
- 2:36Speaker 4: the entire second half. It was really like we're for
- 2:39Speaker 4: the entire fourth quarter instead of staying aggressive. Their subs
- 2:41Speaker 4: are questionable. I mean, anyone with any knowledge of soccer
- 2:45Speaker 4: could have saw that. I don't know what they were doing,
- 2:47Speaker 4: so yeah, it happens at every sport. England should have
- 2:52Speaker 4: stayed aggressive instead of just trying to let Argentina hit
- 3:00Speaker 4: cross or after cross or with multiple chances and then
- 3:04Speaker 4: it gets tied up and you could just feel it that.
- 3:09Speaker 5: It was it was over inevitable. So yeah, very quiet.
- 3:13Speaker 4: I'm sure they're roasting the decision making across the pond
- 3:20Speaker 4: today and yesterday, but it should be a fun final.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Looking at the tickets on stub Hub, if you guys
- 3:27Speaker 1: want to go in, we could split one seat. I
- 3:29Speaker 1: think we got a nose bleeds up in like the
- 3:33Speaker 1: seventy nine hundred range. If you want a good seat,
- 3:36Speaker 1: we're gonna have to drop forty two thousand. Kendrew, this
- 3:39Speaker 1: is closer to you than us, so are.
- 3:40Speaker 3: You If I got to get a ticket, I would
- 3:43Speaker 3: absolutely drive down there.
- 3:44Speaker 1: However, now coming up the injuries that we need to
- 3:48Speaker 1: be monitoring ahead of the twenty twenty sixth season, But first,
- 3:51Speaker 1: let's chat about a sports app that is never on
- 3:53Speaker 1: the injured reserve. That, of course, is the Draftking Sports App.

- 4:24Speaker 1: Doctor David Chow runs six score dot com. I'm a subscriber.
- 4:28Speaker 1: By the way, this site helps tremendously in terms of
- 4:31Speaker 1: putting a number to the injuries that we discuss on
- 4:34Speaker 1: this podcast on a weekly basis a huge help to
- 4:37Speaker 1: me in my evaluations and for thousands out there as well.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They have been winning at a rate of fifty six
- 4:44Speaker 1: and a half percent on NFL spreads, and you all
- 4:46Speaker 1: know how difficult it is to do that.
- 4:49Speaker 2: And this is all thanks.
- 4:50Speaker 1: To their injury based edge from doctor David Chow Pro
- 4:53Speaker 1: Football Doc, and he joins us today on the podcast, Doc,
- 4:57Speaker 1: thanks for taking some time to chat with us.
- 4:59Speaker 2: I'm looking for it.
- 5:00Speaker 7: Oh, thank you very much. Look, I am not a
- 5:04Speaker 7: handicapping gambling expert. You guys do that stuff, Like we
- 5:09Speaker 7: mentioned before it came on. I'm in some fantasy draft,
- 5:11Speaker 7: Scott Fish the only one. I mean, I'm not even
- 5:13Speaker 7: a fantasy expert. I know injuries, and I think the
- 5:17Speaker 7: ideal way to use our stuff is what you do,
- 5:20Speaker 7: which is take your knowledge of what you need and
- 5:23Speaker 7: then fill in the blanks with the injury side and
- 5:27Speaker 7: make the adjustments. And how we've been able to be
- 5:30Speaker 7: successful is I don't handicap anything. We just plug in
- 5:34Speaker 7: the injury scores into the algorithm that Norv Turner helped
- 5:38Speaker 7: us write, et cetera. And yeah, it's probably not as
- 5:42Speaker 7: effective when Patrick Mahomes is out because the world knows
- 5:46Speaker 7: he's out. It doesn't change a thing. But when you're
- 5:48Speaker 7: looking especially at cluster, injuries, D line, O line, other
- 5:53Speaker 7: things impact. That's where the hidden value.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Is within that as well. You're also looking at players
- 6:01Speaker 1: that are playing through injury and then docking them base
- 6:04Speaker 1: and that's something that I think often gets overlooked. We
- 6:07Speaker 1: say that Lamar Jackson is in, but if he's not
- 6:11Speaker 1: in at one hundred percent, you're grading that on the
- 6:13Speaker 1: website as well.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Is that right now?
- 6:14Speaker 7: There's no question that we grade every position, and it's
- 6:18Speaker 7: even if they're playing in a lot of ways, the
- 6:21Speaker 7: ones that are playing are the ones that are more
- 6:24Speaker 7: because look by by Sunday, you know you you know
- 6:28Speaker 7: ninety minutes for the game, you know who's in and out,
- 6:30Speaker 7: and you can make some last minute adjustments, but how
- 6:33Speaker 7: do you know what the guy who's in and what
- 6:36Speaker 7: their health is. And the other thing that we look
- 6:38Speaker 7: at is in a baseball term, we kind of go
- 6:41Speaker 7: with a little bit of a war concept. Ones against replacement.
- 6:44Speaker 7: So look, if it's Patrick Mahomes to the backup, that's
- 6:47Speaker 7: a big drop off, But if it's quarterback one A
- 6:50Speaker 7: to one B or left tackle one A to one B,
- 6:53Speaker 7: that's less of a drop off than a left tackle.
- 6:57Speaker 7: That now O line that now shifts their right tackle
- 7:00Speaker 7: over and if you look at our field views, we
- 7:03Speaker 7: put green, yellow, and red in multiple spots. So literally,
- 7:05Speaker 7: sometimes we've had situations before where the left tackle goes
- 7:09Speaker 7: out and okay, it's a big deal, but it's huge
- 7:12Speaker 7: because the right tackle shifts to left tackle and the
- 7:16Speaker 7: right guard shifts to right tackle, and now you have
- 7:20Speaker 7: a domino effect what's going on? And so that's kind
- 7:22Speaker 7: of some of the analysis that we do.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Let's start with the biggest name in the game. Patrick
- 7:28Speaker 1: Mahomes is attempting to bounce back from a torn ACL
- 7:32Speaker 1: and an LCL he suffered that in Week fifteen last year.
- 7:35Speaker 1: He strikes me as the kind of athlete we saw
- 7:38Speaker 1: him do this through a Super Bowl run a couple
- 7:41Speaker 1: of years ago, that will play through injury and rehab
- 7:46Speaker 1: quicker than most individuals would. The reports claim that he
- 7:49Speaker 1: should be ready for Week one, but do you see
- 7:51Speaker 1: somebody that just simply rehabs faster than the average player
- 7:56Speaker 1: from injuries like this.
- 7:58Speaker 7: Well, I appreciate the chance to have kind of a
- 8:02Speaker 7: long form answer and hopefully what I say makes some sense.
- 8:06Speaker 7: Return to play is not simple, is not binary, depends
- 8:09Speaker 7: on injuries and let me try and explain it. Do
- 8:12Speaker 7: I believe Patrick Mahomes is a great athlete. Yes, he's
- 8:16Speaker 7: my son's favorite player, which thirteen year old boy doesn't
- 8:18Speaker 7: love Patrick Mahomes. But my point being, he does have
- 8:22Speaker 7: a good injury history. And if you go back a
- 8:25Speaker 7: couple of years ago when he won a Super Bowl
- 8:26Speaker 7: in the high ankle sprain in game against Jacksonville, I
- 8:30Speaker 7: believe he said, look, he's got a high ankle sprain.
- 8:31Speaker 7: Everyone said no way, because he came back into the game.
- 8:34Speaker 7: I'm like, no, he did, and then it got revealed
- 8:36Speaker 7: and he played through it. He altered his form. He
- 8:38Speaker 7: throws off platform, and that's one of the things that
- 8:41Speaker 7: we do at Sports Injury Central. And MCL is not
- 8:44Speaker 7: an MCL. First of all, there's different grades, but an
- 8:46Speaker 7: MCL on one player is not the same as another player.
- 8:50Speaker 7: Let's say, you know inside leg, outside leg, you know
- 8:53Speaker 7: which way you can cut, the type of thrower back
- 8:56Speaker 7: leg on a quarterback front leg. It all changes and matters.
- 8:59Speaker 7: There's a lot of customization. Patrick Mahomes has always returned
- 9:02Speaker 7: early from injury. But and he's gumby. He's very flexible, right,
- 9:08Speaker 7: which is some part of his greatness. Gumby is a
- 9:11Speaker 7: turn that probably is dating me. But hopefully you guys
- 9:14Speaker 7: get the Gumby reference.
- 9:15Speaker 1: You know, I'm old enough to know Gumby. I think
- 9:19Speaker 1: probably is as well.
- 9:20Speaker 7: You right, I mean Hendradino.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Who's who Gumby is? Yesmiliar, okay, okay.
- 9:25Speaker 7: But historically not firsthand?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Right, yes, historically not firsthand to know.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Okay, she knows Gumby. Maybe from Eddie Murphy Saturday y
- 9:35Speaker 7: Night Live Gumby or maybe that's even too dated for
- 9:37Speaker 7: I think that might be too dated.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Doctors.
- 9:39Speaker 3: My parents are My parents are older to have a
- 9:42Speaker 3: kid my age, so all of their references I understand.
- 9:46Speaker 7: So basically that was a shot at me.
- 9:51Speaker 2: My father way older than you.
- 9:53Speaker 7: But it is what it is. The facts are facts.
- 9:57Speaker 7: So but anyways, so with that, he is going to
- 10:01Speaker 7: be but he's still human. Okay. So let me tell
- 10:04Speaker 7: you something about return to play. And this is my
- 10:07Speaker 7: advantage in what I do. Obviously I worked with the NFL.
- 10:12Speaker 7: I dealt with exactly how you handled injuries, hit injuries
- 10:17Speaker 7: from the public, etc. So I'm the former prosecutor that's
- 10:23Speaker 7: now on the other side doing defense work, right, or
- 10:29Speaker 7: the former IRS agent who's now dealing with your taxes?
- 10:33Speaker 7: Right kind of situation? Return to play. Here's the first
- 10:38Speaker 7: thing I would say is multifactorial. It has to be.
- 10:43Speaker 7: Three things have to happen in order to return to play.
- 10:46Speaker 7: Number one is the doctor slash medical staff, the surgeon,
- 10:53Speaker 7: the athletic trainer, the physical therapist. Their combined vote has
- 10:57Speaker 7: to be a yes that they're cleared to play. The
- 11:00Speaker 7: second thing that has to happen no particular order. The
- 11:04Speaker 7: player has to say I want to play. I'm ready
- 11:07Speaker 7: to go. Whether it's the player, whether it's the dad,
- 11:11Speaker 7: whether it's the agent. The collective vote has to be
- 11:14Speaker 7: this makes sense for us. And the final one is
- 11:17Speaker 7: the team has to say, let's go. We want to go.
- 11:21Speaker 7: Let me give you some examples. If the doctor says
- 11:24Speaker 7: you're fine, the team wants you to play, but the
- 11:26Speaker 7: player doesn't have confidence in his ability in what he
- 11:29Speaker 7: can or cannot do. I'm not trying to call anyone out,
- 11:32Speaker 7: but we have examples of that. In the NFL, they
- 11:35Speaker 7: don't play. I mean, well, I've talked about it before,
- 11:39Speaker 7: so let's call it out. John Harbaugh. This year we
- 11:43Speaker 7: were saying it Sports Injury Central. Something's not right. In
- 11:47Speaker 7: the water there. We even talked about how perhaps you know,
- 11:52Speaker 7: he might end up moving on and why do we
- 11:55Speaker 7: say that. Look, John Harbaugh is a great coach. Do
- 11:58Speaker 7: you think there's any chance he didn't actually know how
- 12:02Speaker 7: to handle an injury report and that it was someone
- 12:04Speaker 7: else that messed up that passes by the head coach's
- 12:07Speaker 7: desk before it goes out. He was sending a message
- 12:11Speaker 7: to the world. I think Lamar's ready, but Lamar doesn't
- 12:13Speaker 7: think he's ready, right, That may be a potential case
- 12:18Speaker 7: of that. I don't think that will ever happen with
- 12:20Speaker 7: Patrick Mahomes, But I'm just giving you the thing. The
- 12:24Speaker 7: doctor has to say, yes, hey, let's give it some
- 12:27Speaker 7: more time, and then finally the team. So my long
- 12:30Speaker 7: winded answer in Patrick Mahomes is, if Week one were
- 12:33Speaker 7: the Super Bowl guarantee book at Patrick Mahomes would play
- 12:37Speaker 7: and start that game one hundred percent. But it's not
- 12:42Speaker 7: the Super Bowl. And his injury, as we think detailed
- 12:46Speaker 7: from the war room the day it happened, that it
- 12:50Speaker 7: was more than just an ACL the LCL. That's why
- 12:53Speaker 7: when news broke on Monday Night Football that he had
- 12:55Speaker 7: surgery the next day, already people were saying, why, we
- 12:58Speaker 7: said it makes sense because of the LCL injury, So
- 13:01Speaker 7: he has an injury that's more complicated. The closest comp
- 13:05Speaker 7: is Carson Wentz from Philadelphia Eagles days when he was
- 13:10Speaker 7: a rookie and Nick Foles led them to the Super
- 13:13Speaker 7: Bowl and Carson Wentz did not return week one. He
- 13:17Speaker 7: returned week five and then developed other injuries. Could Patrick
- 13:22Speaker 7: Mahomes take the field week one one hundred percent? Will
- 13:26Speaker 7: you see him in training camp doing a lot and
- 13:28Speaker 7: fans say, why is he playing one hundred percent? It
- 13:30Speaker 7: is my belief that the doctors will say he's able
- 13:35Speaker 7: to play football wear this brace, but he's not one
- 13:38Speaker 7: hundred percent. Patrick Mahomes will say, let me go, I'm ready,
- 13:42Speaker 7: I'm ready. But the Chiefs will say, you know what,
- 13:45Speaker 7: we can't win the super Bowl in week one. We
- 13:48Speaker 7: can only lose the Super Bowl in Week one. If
- 13:51Speaker 7: we get him injured worse, then our season is sunk.
- 13:57Speaker 7: Could he play from the pocket week one thousand percent?
- 14:01Speaker 7: Could he be somewhat mobile, yes? But will he be
- 14:04Speaker 7: one hundred percent?
- 14:05Speaker 3: No?
- 14:05Speaker 7: And no way. So I don't believe the Chiefs have
- 14:08Speaker 7: made the final decision yet. And you know Brett Veach
- 14:13Speaker 7: will weigh heavily in the decision with Andy Reid, but
- 14:16Speaker 7: I see them being conservative and saying, look, one hundred
- 14:19Speaker 7: percent passing ability, eighty percent running ability. We're not willing
- 14:23Speaker 7: to accept a three percent chance of reinjury to the
- 14:26Speaker 7: knee or another body part that takes us out for
- 14:29Speaker 7: the season. Let's roll with Justin Fields. I think Justin
- 14:32Speaker 7: Fields knows that too, That's why he went there. He's
- 14:35Speaker 7: the Day one starter. We've been saying it for a while.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Wow.
- 14:39Speaker 3: You mentioned that you were around players trying to hide
- 14:41Speaker 3: injuries earlier in your career. How often are significant injury
- 14:45Speaker 3: is realistically being hidden, not just underplayed? And what do
- 14:48Speaker 3: you look for when assessing if someone is potentially actually
- 14:52Speaker 3: injured and not hurt.
- 14:54Speaker 7: Well, I'll give you two examples of this. One just
- 14:57Speaker 7: at the top of my head. If you look at
- 14:58Speaker 7: my Twitter at timeline, the header photo is with me
- 15:03Speaker 7: and Philip Rivers and the last game at the RCA Dome.
- 15:07Speaker 7: Because you look at the ceiling, you'll see it. That's
- 15:09Speaker 7: where he tours ACL Now famously he slashed the team.
- 15:14Speaker 7: Now at the time, I never talked to media, so
- 15:16Speaker 7: I never hit anything right Hippa. I didn't personally hide anything,
- 15:20Speaker 7: but the world did not know he tours ACL and
- 15:23Speaker 7: had surgery six days before that AFC Championship game. The
- 15:26Speaker 7: world now knows that. So that's an example where I'm
- 15:29Speaker 7: not calling teams out and calling doctors out and calling
- 15:33Speaker 7: head coaches out. I'm just calling a spade a spade.
- 15:36Speaker 7: I'm not saying that it's wrong or illegal. I'm just
- 15:40Speaker 7: telling you that it's done. And I was involved with
- 15:43Speaker 7: it on the other side. So that's probably a very
- 15:45Speaker 7: famous example of it. That's top of mind. Also because
- 15:49Speaker 7: I still chat with Philip pretty regularly. He texted me
- 15:51Speaker 7: one of his players and at Saint Michael's, you know, yesterday,
- 15:56Speaker 7: So we still continue chat. He's all in with football
- 16:00Speaker 7: all like you wouldn't believe, like you would expect. But
- 16:03Speaker 7: another example I'll give you is the most recent last game,
- 16:08Speaker 7: the Super Bowl. Ahead of that game, if you remember,
- 16:12Speaker 7: after the AFC Championship game, on my podcast Pro Football
- 16:16Speaker 7: Doc podcast Sports Injury Central podcast, I said, there's no
- 16:23Speaker 7: doubt in my mind that Drake may injured his right
- 16:26Speaker 7: throwing shoulder and it was on this play and how
- 16:30Speaker 7: bad it is remains me determined. Yes, he finished the game.
- 16:33Speaker 7: These were his throws afterwards. But there's no question in
- 16:36Speaker 7: his my mind that he injured his shoulder. What did
- 16:39Speaker 7: coach Rabel, who I love, say, Boston radio started pounding him.
- 16:44Speaker 7: Oh there's some idiot out in California.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I'm a Boston radio girly.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Hi.
- 16:48Speaker 7: Oh hi. Well at Super Bowl I went on you know,
- 16:54Speaker 7: most of the Boston radio stations at the radio row,
- 16:57Speaker 7: and they seemed accepting. They all hated me. I had friends.
- 17:01Speaker 7: I went to school in the Boston area, and I
- 17:02Speaker 7: had friends calling me up. Oh, they're killing you out here,
- 17:05Speaker 7: you know at who's this idiot saying this? And what
- 17:08Speaker 7: did coach Rabel say? If you go back to his quotes,
- 17:12Speaker 7: if you read it again, now I'm paraphrasing it, but
- 17:16Speaker 7: he says, no, I wouldn't say Drake May is injured.
- 17:20Speaker 7: He didn't say he's not injured, right, I mean, if
- 17:23Speaker 7: you go back and read his word for word quotes.
- 17:26Speaker 7: And then he went on to say, everyone's a little
- 17:29Speaker 7: banged up right now. And what happened that first Wednesday
- 17:31Speaker 7: he was on the injury report for his right throwing shoulder.
- 17:34Speaker 7: So it happens in every team all the time to
- 17:37Speaker 7: different levels. It's part of the NFL and the fabric
- 17:43Speaker 7: of what it is, and we played detective a little
- 17:47Speaker 7: bit by looking at source material of the injuries. Probably
- 17:50Speaker 7: a much more long winded answer than you or your
- 17:52Speaker 7: listener's money.
- 17:53Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I want to kind of follow up on that. I
- 17:56Speaker 3: think as fans of most sports, but football in general,
- 18:00Speaker 3: feels to be an uptick in Achilles injuries in particular.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Do you think that injury rates are higher now than
- 18:07Speaker 3: they used to be or are they lower than they
- 18:09Speaker 3: used to be? And do you agree with the uptick
- 18:11Speaker 3: in Achilles injuries or is it just a one off
- 18:15Speaker 3: maybe two off season of this.
- 18:17Speaker 7: Oh well, they the NFL does good long term tracking data,
- 18:22Speaker 7: and I think there's a lot of reasons for the
- 18:26Speaker 7: increase of injuries. Number one is there's so much media
- 18:30Speaker 7: out there, and nowadays when someone is injured, if you're
- 18:36Speaker 7: the backup right guard, there's reporting, and it used to
- 18:39Speaker 7: not be that way. So we do hear about injuries more.
- 18:43Speaker 7: And then you have social media. When you have the
- 18:46Speaker 7: Broncos linebacker, it's not Broncos. The forty nine Ers linebacker
- 18:50Speaker 7: coming off the sideline, Dre Greenlaw and the Super bowltarians achilles,
- 18:54Speaker 7: and it's played over and over again, and then you know,
- 18:56Speaker 7: when you have stars like George Kittle getting injured, yeah,
- 18:59Speaker 7: you hear about it more. But statistically it hasn't been
- 19:04Speaker 7: much higher, maybe a tick higher. But here's where it
- 19:07Speaker 7: actually makes sense. And people would say, well, it's because
- 19:10Speaker 7: the World Cup they installed grass and you know, and
- 19:12Speaker 7: they don't have grass fields, But that's not entirely true.
- 19:15Speaker 7: Lots of achilles happen on grass versus turfin either way.
- 19:19Speaker 7: But what is true is that as players get bigger,
- 19:24Speaker 7: faster and stronger, your achilles tendon doesn't really get bigger
- 19:28Speaker 7: and thicker. Like my achilles tendon isn't that much different
- 19:33Speaker 7: than George Kittle's achilles tendon, and George Kittle is a
- 19:37Speaker 7: lot bigger. So what you're doing is putting more and
- 19:40Speaker 7: more horsepower, more and more torque, more and more payload
- 19:45Speaker 7: on the same preus suspension.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Speaking of achilles tendons, I have a cadavers Achilles tendon
- 19:58Speaker 4: as my ACLF toor my ACL twice. Both acls have
- 20:01Speaker 4: a reconstructed knee, so turn our attention to knees.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I have a couple knee questions. I wanted to ask
- 20:08Speaker 5: you first.
- 20:10Speaker 4: If I had to guess, we probably I wouldn't think
- 20:13Speaker 4: we see Tyreek Hill again, just at thirty two, given
- 20:17Speaker 4: what he was known for with that devastating of a
- 20:19Speaker 4: knee injury. We haven't even seen Tank Dell yet, who
- 20:23Speaker 4: had the same injury, missed the whole year. What can
- 20:26Speaker 4: we expect from either of them given how devastating those
- 20:30Speaker 4: knee injuries are.
- 20:31Speaker 7: Well different knee injuries. Of course, Tyreek Hill, I've said
- 20:35Speaker 7: all along he's not playing this season. It's a multi
- 20:38Speaker 7: ligament injury. But part of where he's not playing this
- 20:43Speaker 7: season is why would he? I mean, he's got injury
- 20:47Speaker 7: money come in his way. There's no way he's going
- 20:50Speaker 7: to earn more money than the injury money come in
- 20:52Speaker 7: his way. So there's a practical side of it too.
- 20:56Speaker 7: And at age thirty two, is this the end of
- 20:58Speaker 7: his career? He could come back next year if he
- 21:01Speaker 7: wanted to, But will he want to? Right? And you
- 21:05Speaker 7: know it's a high bar to return to be Tyreek
- 21:08Speaker 7: Hill again. That is a devastating knee injury, and we
- 21:11Speaker 7: report on immediately Tank Dell, my Scott fish Bowl. I
- 21:14Speaker 7: haven't drafted him yet and we're in the fourteenth round, okay,
- 21:17Speaker 7: And I don't anticipate drafting him. He's a smaller speed
- 21:22Speaker 7: guy who gets open based on separation and burst and
- 21:27Speaker 7: change a direction. That's not that's different than if you're
- 21:31Speaker 7: a plotting offensive lineman or a tight end blocker who catches,
- 21:36Speaker 7: who does a lot of catch and fall down right.
- 21:39Speaker 7: So yes, And we do have a preseason injury preview
- 21:43Speaker 7: that it's about to hit. If you go to siicscore
- 21:46Speaker 7: dot com you can sign up for it for free.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Last year was eighty pages and we go through every
- 21:51Speaker 7: team and it's a live document and we talk about
- 21:55Speaker 7: Tank Dell. We give him a six score for the
- 21:57Speaker 7: season in terms of if you were drafting for fantasy
- 22:01Speaker 7: or what have you or playing you know, season totals,
- 22:05Speaker 7: et cetera. So yeah, I'm kind of in agreement with
- 22:09Speaker 7: you on both of those.
- 22:10Speaker 4: And then two other knees the Raiders, two Raiders defenders.
- 22:14Speaker 4: You have Max Crosby, which you know, you have the Ravens.
- 22:18Speaker 4: I don't know if they had buyer's remorse or there
- 22:21Speaker 4: was something real there. You have his knee, and then
- 22:24Speaker 4: Jermal McCoy, who was you know, a first round talent
- 22:30Speaker 4: but dropped because of concerns over his knee. What he
- 22:32Speaker 4: had of a bone plug in his knee. What are
- 22:38Speaker 4: your thoughts on the level of concern for either or
- 22:41Speaker 4: both of those players moving forward.
- 22:44Speaker 7: Well for this season. I certainly have more concern for
- 22:49Speaker 7: McCoy than Max Crosby ahead of the draft. You guys
- 22:54Speaker 7: are at action, and like I said, I'm not a
- 22:56Speaker 7: big handicapper, but I know very well you've got there's
- 22:59Speaker 7: lines about where kids are being drafted, and we were
- 23:03Speaker 7: all over our podcast instancing Fade that kid he's not
- 23:06Speaker 7: being drafted where you think he's going to be drafted
- 23:08Speaker 7: because of the knee, and that the plug means there's
- 23:12Speaker 7: long term articular cartilage issues. It would be great. I
- 23:15Speaker 7: mean it's not impossible that he doesn't play much in
- 23:18Speaker 7: his career. I hope he has a career. I don't
- 23:20Speaker 7: know that it will be. It'll certainly be curtailed from
- 23:23Speaker 7: where his trajectory was in college based on the bad
- 23:27Speaker 7: injury ACL plus right with the articular cartilage damage.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Max Crosby and he's sorry to argue, he's like he's
- 23:35Speaker 4: guaranteed to eventually have bad arthritis.
- 23:39Speaker 7: Right, Well, technically he has it today. Okay, you had
- 23:42Speaker 7: the surgery because he had damaged to his articular cartilage.
- 23:45Speaker 7: That's being technical. I'm not saying he's old man arthritis. Yeah,
- 23:48Speaker 7: but he has damage to his articular cartilage. The Max
- 23:51Speaker 7: Crosby thing makes complete sense in this way. I was
- 23:59Speaker 7: surprised when he got traded on a Friday, and prior
- 24:03Speaker 7: to that, I said, the reason why he may not
- 24:08Speaker 7: be getting traded is that technically he would not be
- 24:11Speaker 7: able to pass the physical based on the meniscus repair
- 24:15Speaker 7: that he had. This is before he was traded. People
- 24:18Speaker 7: they were surprised he wasn't traded. He wasn't traded. I said, well,
- 24:21Speaker 7: any team that trades for him will need to project
- 24:23Speaker 7: him to pass the physical. He doesn't pass the physical today,
- 24:28Speaker 7: that may be the hindrance. And then I said that
- 24:30Speaker 7: on the podcast of Monday and Friday he got traded,
- 24:33Speaker 7: and then of course then Monday I said, yeah, that
- 24:37Speaker 7: probably means the Ravens have looked at his records and
- 24:40Speaker 7: are projecting him to pass the physical, which is why
- 24:44Speaker 7: they traded for him. But they will still have to
- 24:46Speaker 7: project him to pass the physical. In the end, the
- 24:49Speaker 7: curve ball wasn't the projection to pass the physical was.
- 24:53Speaker 7: You can call it buyer's remorse, but it's the fact
- 24:57Speaker 7: that they didn't lie the way that his knee looked
- 25:01Speaker 7: long term because of developing arthritis, and some of that
- 25:07Speaker 7: may have been unfortunately. Everyone loves Max Crosby for how
- 25:11Speaker 7: he played through a good part of the season with
- 25:13Speaker 7: the meniscus tare, but the question has to be asked,
- 25:16Speaker 7: did he make his knee worse for him long term
- 25:18Speaker 7: as a result of that? Right, and how I explained
- 25:21Speaker 7: it when it happened is number one. I said. Everyone's like,
- 25:24Speaker 7: the Ravens are going to be fine. It's like, no,
- 25:26Speaker 7: they're not. They're within their rights to say no. Here's
- 25:29Speaker 7: the best analogy I can give you when you buy
- 25:33Speaker 7: a home or sell a home. When you're a buyer
- 25:36Speaker 7: of a home, the recipient of Max Crosby, you're buying him,
- 25:40Speaker 7: you have an inspection contingency for ten days, fourteen days,
- 25:44Speaker 7: and you get a physical. The roof doesn't have to
- 25:47Speaker 7: leak for you to fall out of escrow. You can
- 25:51Speaker 7: just say the roof is older than I thought it was,
- 25:54Speaker 7: and you can fall out of escrow. And that's essentially
- 25:57Speaker 7: what happened Max Crosby fell out of saw. Now did
- 26:01Speaker 7: part of it mean that if we're going to give
- 26:03Speaker 7: up these assets and pay Crosby this much, but he's
- 26:07Speaker 7: only this much better than choice number two, the house
- 26:11Speaker 7: across the street, which now has been discounted. There's maybe
- 26:16Speaker 7: a component of that, but what the Ravens did is
- 26:18Speaker 7: one hundred percent within the rules and within their rights
- 26:21Speaker 7: and prerogative. Like it or not.
- 26:25Speaker 1: A couple of other players that we want to hit on,
- 26:28Speaker 1: but I want to give you an opportunity. Doc is,
- 26:32Speaker 1: you have saved this announcement for us here on the
- 26:35Speaker 1: Favorites podcast, and we appreciate that.
- 26:38Speaker 2: For sickpicks dot com.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Would you like to tell the people what you have
- 26:44Speaker 1: in store that you're adding to six score?
- 26:47Speaker 7: Well, look, we have reluctantly been in the picks business
- 26:52Speaker 7: because we've been successful since exception against closing lines fifty
- 26:56Speaker 7: six and a half percent. It's been documented we'd do
- 26:59Speaker 7: it off of injury. So we're excited to announce that
- 27:03Speaker 7: we're expanding that prep platform. It's still an injuries based platform,
- 27:09Speaker 7: but we're partnering with what one could argue was one
- 27:13Speaker 7: of the top guys in the business, the only two
- 27:15Speaker 7: time Las Vegas Super Contest winner, the great Steve Fezick.
- 27:20Speaker 7: He will be joining our site and Steve is still
- 27:25Speaker 7: independent from us. That's why we want him. We want
- 27:29Speaker 7: his brain power looking at everything. But he is absolutely
- 27:33Speaker 7: has been over time incorporating our injury information. This last season,
- 27:38Speaker 7: he joined us on a halftime show that was shown
- 27:43Speaker 7: on sports Cred, etc. And we put out live picks
- 27:46Speaker 7: at halftime with Steve Feesick, and we have at tracked publicly.
- 27:50Speaker 7: We hit at seventy percent this year taking first half
- 27:53Speaker 7: injury information, trying to apply it with Steve's brain and
- 27:57Speaker 7: that's what we're trying to do with some of the
- 27:59Speaker 7: stuff with Steve. So we're very, very excited to have
- 28:03Speaker 7: someone with the stature of Steve Fezick joining on our site.
- 28:07Speaker 7: And we hope to even make Steve a little better
- 28:10Speaker 7: with our injury information. But it's hard to make Steve
- 28:13Speaker 7: much better. He's sort of been always the contest and
- 28:16Speaker 7: handicapped guru for a long time.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he's had a lot of success, wildly entertaining as well.
- 28:22Speaker 1: The only two time Las Vegas Super Contest winner, Steve
- 28:25Speaker 1: Fenzick and by the way. You can sign up using
- 28:28Speaker 1: the Code Action. So this is information that you're getting
- 28:31Speaker 1: before anybody else. It is the lowest annual price of
- 28:34Speaker 1: the year to action. Listeners and viewers save one hundred
- 28:38Speaker 1: dollars on the annual six Sick Picks package get access
- 28:42Speaker 1: for just a dollar ten per day using.
- 28:45Speaker 2: The Code Action. So let's get back to the players.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Doc green Bay seems to be slow playing the Micah
- 28:50Speaker 1: Parsons timeline. He got injured around the same time as
- 28:53Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes. It's tracking like Mahomes as we discussed, there's
- 28:58Speaker 1: a chance that he's ready for week on. The Packers
- 29:01Speaker 1: seem like they're not anywhere close to that with Micah Parsons.
- 29:05Speaker 1: So what's the difference with their injuries and the way
- 29:08Speaker 1: that they're being handled with the teams.
- 29:10Speaker 7: Well, let me just give you this one. It's the
- 29:13Speaker 7: same with not to keep harping on Philip Rivers, but
- 29:17Speaker 7: Philip Rivers and Aaron Donald. Philip Rivers literally came off
- 29:23Speaker 7: his couch to quarterback in the NFL out of shape
- 29:28Speaker 7: more LB's and almost beat Seattle in Seattle in his
- 29:32Speaker 7: first game back. Aaron Donald is unbelievably great. But Aaron
- 29:38Speaker 7: Donald could not come off the couch to do what
- 29:42Speaker 7: Philip Rivers did. Now Aaron Donald isn't coming off the couch.
- 29:46Speaker 7: He's been a workout warrior and he's in great shape,
- 29:49Speaker 7: and everyone's seen the videos and whatever, and even then
- 29:52Speaker 7: there's a bar to climb, So why do I did
- 29:54Speaker 7: I go there? The return for Patrick Mahomes as a
- 29:57Speaker 7: quarterback is different than a return for Meek Michaeh Parsons
- 30:01Speaker 7: getting around the edge, especially with his left knee depaying
- 30:04Speaker 7: what side he lines up. That's why you can't compare
- 30:09Speaker 7: the two injuries per se. It's the demands of what
- 30:12Speaker 7: it is. If as long as the timing's good, Mahomes
- 30:17Speaker 7: can drop back a split seconds late late and still
- 30:20Speaker 7: make up for his arm. If Parsons is a split
- 30:23Speaker 7: seconds late getting around the edge, he's just a guy
- 30:26Speaker 7: or really not that helpful. The demands of the position
- 30:30Speaker 7: are so different. I don't think Green Bay's been slow
- 30:33Speaker 7: paying it. I think Michael Parsons has been honest about
- 30:36Speaker 7: his expectations. We fully expect him to start on pup
- 30:40Speaker 7: and we don't expect him to come off pup as
- 30:42Speaker 7: soon as he's eligible. I think it's mid to late
- 30:45Speaker 7: season before he returns and he's ready to go, And
- 30:48Speaker 7: that's just the biology of the injury and the downside
- 30:51Speaker 7: of having a late season injury. It is what it is,
- 30:54Speaker 7: and it's hard to be an edge rusher coming off
- 30:57Speaker 7: in ACL.
- 30:59Speaker 3: I want to do you a quarterback lightning around what
- 31:02Speaker 3: are your health expectations for Daniel Jones, Boonix and Jaden Daniels.
- 31:07Speaker 7: Daniel Jones Relative optimism for Daniel Jones. Look, he's been
- 31:14Speaker 7: a pretty good straight line runner. He's never had a
- 31:16Speaker 7: lot of wiggle, but I expect him to be able
- 31:20Speaker 7: to play and do well. And we said in the
- 31:22Speaker 7: off season because of the Achilles that guaranteed he'd go
- 31:26Speaker 7: back to Indy. Why how is a new team going
- 31:30Speaker 7: to sign him, have a miss all of off season
- 31:34Speaker 7: workouts and have it really work out for the start
- 31:37Speaker 7: of the season. Whereas in Indie he's known in the system.
- 31:41Speaker 7: Everyone knows him, he knows the system and what have you.
- 31:44Speaker 7: It's an easier integration. So I do think he's going
- 31:46Speaker 7: to be okay. Bo Nicks, that's a little bit of
- 31:51Speaker 7: a mystery injury. I don't see why he couldn't be
- 31:53Speaker 7: effective where he.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Was and what was your third one, Jaden Daniels, Well.
- 31:58Speaker 7: Jade and Daniels. Yeah, should be fine. I will say,
- 32:01Speaker 7: if we're going through all of them, you know, I
- 32:03Speaker 7: fully expect Tua to be the starter for Michael Pennix
- 32:06Speaker 7: at least for the start of the season as well.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Now, how do you think about that mentioning Penix? You
- 32:13Speaker 4: have a situation there where Penix has five season ending
- 32:19Speaker 4: injuries in eight years dating back to those college DAEs,
- 32:22Speaker 4: which is just insane. And then you have Tua who
- 32:25Speaker 4: has a history of concussions, and from my understanding, I
- 32:28Speaker 4: think every concussion you get, right, the chances of another
- 32:31Speaker 4: one grow exponentially. What is the medical science behind that?
- 32:35Speaker 4: And like it's just can we just expect that quarterback
- 32:39Speaker 4: room to have so much more or so much higher
- 32:42Speaker 4: of reinjury risk because of both of their histories?
- 32:47Speaker 7: Well, yes and no that you know, first of all,
- 32:52Speaker 7: they play a position that is very prone to injury
- 32:56Speaker 7: because your eyes are looking downfield in other places and
- 32:59Speaker 7: everyone's I'm gonnatch you from all sorts of different places.
- 33:02Speaker 7: As to if he were to get another concussion, and
- 33:05Speaker 7: I hope he doesn't, it probably wouldn't be a one
- 33:08Speaker 7: week sit out. It probably with his first concussion, be
- 33:12Speaker 7: a multi week set out. Hopefully he can avoid concussions altogether.
- 33:17Speaker 7: Michael Pinnox has had a number of injuries that are
- 33:19Speaker 7: season ending, you know, but I don't like injury prone.
- 33:23Speaker 7: Prone to injury. Yes, let me tell you what the
- 33:26Speaker 7: difference is. Prone to injury is a skier that skis
- 33:33Speaker 7: down double black diamonds all the time. Injury prone is
- 33:37Speaker 7: someone who keeps hurting themselves on green and blue runs, right,
- 33:41Speaker 7: and so I think they're skiing down double black diamonds
- 33:45Speaker 7: what they do so when they do get hurt, and
- 33:48Speaker 7: it's not the same injury all the time. Although penn
- 33:50Speaker 7: X was a retror of the ACL, I don't call
- 33:53Speaker 7: those guys injury prone. I call them prone to injury
- 33:56Speaker 7: because of the position that they play. But quarterbacks, if
- 33:59Speaker 7: you really take it around the room, I mean over
- 34:01Speaker 7: half the quarterbacks every single year don't play all the
- 34:05Speaker 7: games due to injury, not due to benching.
- 34:11Speaker 4: But there's become a point where, like so Panics has
- 34:14Speaker 4: had but he's at five season ending injuries multiple acls.
- 34:18Speaker 4: I think there was a couple see towards ACL in
- 34:20Speaker 4: twenty eighteen, right, shoulder in twenty nineteen, who cares towards
- 34:26Speaker 4: right ACL again in twenty twenty, separated as other shoulder
- 34:30Speaker 4: in twenty twenty one, and then partial tear of the
- 34:34Speaker 4: ACL again. Is there a point where you know you
- 34:37Speaker 4: have three ACL tears so obviously they only have two
- 34:40Speaker 4: knees where just the compounding and that does make you
- 34:44Speaker 4: more injury prone because I get.
- 34:45Speaker 5: I you'll get it.
- 34:46Speaker 7: Depends. It depends on what's with the ACL. Are there
- 34:49Speaker 7: particular cardilage injuries with it? And what does it mean
- 34:52Speaker 7: kind of thing? Yes? Is he quote damage goods?
- 34:55Speaker 8: Yes?
- 34:55Speaker 7: And this is why there's so much attention on good
- 34:58Speaker 7: old Jackson Dart. Buddy, you gotta get down. You can't.
- 35:03Speaker 7: You know, as I always say, if you run as
- 35:08Speaker 7: part of your game for a living, and on first
- 35:10Speaker 7: down taking chances after you're already fifteen yards down the field,
- 35:15Speaker 7: you're gonna get hurt. If it's third and ten and
- 35:18Speaker 7: you're trying to get that last yard for the first
- 35:20Speaker 7: down and you take a chance, you know, run out
- 35:22Speaker 7: of necessity, out of run, out of part of the
- 35:25Speaker 7: routine game, one has more injury risk. And that's what
- 35:29Speaker 7: they're trying to get Jackson dart out of and the
- 35:32Speaker 7: vast majority of injuries. To be fair, Look, I don't
- 35:36Speaker 7: mean this to be a Philip Rivers thing just because
- 35:38Speaker 7: maybe I got a roll. Philip Rivers not mobile yet
- 35:42Speaker 7: has the longest active quarterback starting streak in the NFL.
- 35:46Speaker 7: Blah blah blah blah blah player streak. Why he didn't
- 35:50Speaker 7: extend plays, he got rid of the ball. The vast
- 35:55Speaker 7: majority of injuries come when you extend plays in the NFL.
- 36:00Speaker 7: And nowadays the whole lot of the quarterbacks, almost all
- 36:04Speaker 7: of them are play extenders, right, The true pocket get
- 36:08Speaker 7: rid of the balls are not there anymore, and that's
- 36:12Speaker 7: why you see more injuries.
- 36:14Speaker 5: Yeah, and I am the best question.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead, stuck.
- 36:17Speaker 4: My last question just kind of in the same vein
- 36:20Speaker 4: of injury prone verse prone to injury, you have the
- 36:24Speaker 4: one time where I think it might there might be
- 36:27Speaker 4: some merit to it is these bigger linemen that have
- 36:32Speaker 4: recurring foot issues, and that's because they just have so
- 36:36Speaker 4: much weight. Maybe possibly it doesn't heal well, you know,
- 36:40Speaker 4: they don't let it heal all the way, and it's
- 36:42Speaker 4: just because of all the weight that they're bearing. It
- 36:44Speaker 4: becomes more difficult. So a guy like Caleb Banks, people
- 36:48Speaker 4: had concerns about him because he's hurt. He's had multiple
- 36:51Speaker 4: fractures of his metatarsal. So people thought like, look, these
- 36:56Speaker 4: guy's like a top ten talent, but I don't want
- 36:58Speaker 4: to take them. And then the Bike Kings took a
- 37:00Speaker 4: lot of people said I don't know if he's going
- 37:01Speaker 4: to go in the first round, and he did. How
- 37:03Speaker 4: concerned would you be for him? And then just bigger
- 37:06Speaker 4: lineman in general, when they have recurring foot injuries.
- 37:10Speaker 7: Well it's a concern. It depends on the foot injury, right,
- 37:12Speaker 7: Not all foot injuries are the same. Ahead of the
- 37:16Speaker 7: draft a couple of years ago Houston, everyone thought Houston
- 37:19Speaker 7: was taking not Will Anderson, but the guy that went
- 37:22Speaker 7: to the Raiders helped me out on his name. He
- 37:24Speaker 7: had a foot injury coming in. Uh the two there
- 37:27Speaker 7: were two top linemen that year. Kyry Walker was that no,
- 37:32Speaker 7: I'm blanking on his name right now. But the Houston
- 37:35Speaker 7: instead took Will Anderson and look at how that's worked out.
- 37:38Speaker 7: At Sports Injury Central, we said, if they're anywhere near
- 37:40Speaker 7: the same talent, you got to take Will Anderson because
- 37:43Speaker 7: the other guy has the foot injury that and he
- 37:46Speaker 7: hasn't done much with the Raiders yet. I'm blanking on
- 37:48Speaker 7: his name.
- 37:49Speaker 5: I'm sorry, Tyry Wilson.
- 37:51Speaker 7: Maybe yes, Tyree Wilson, thank you, Tyr.
- 37:54Speaker 8: Willis just got And if you go back to the
- 37:59Speaker 8: draft Nicks, they were saying Tyree was ahead of will
- 38:02Speaker 8: will Anderson right and because of the foot, will Anderson
- 38:07Speaker 8: was rightfully ahead.
- 38:08Speaker 7: And we see how that has has worked out. But
- 38:10Speaker 7: let me tell you something about injury as well. We
- 38:13Speaker 7: talked about the Giants a little bit. I think Cam
- 38:15Speaker 7: Scattabow has got to be careful a little bit. He's great,
- 38:18Speaker 7: he's awesome, he's a cult hero. He's tough as can be.
- 38:21Speaker 7: But in my first year in the NFL, here we
- 38:24Speaker 7: I go you with age again. You guys remember a
- 38:27Speaker 7: guy named Natron Means.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Lotron means former Jaguar.
- 38:31Speaker 7: Look look at the no Natron means was unbelievable a
- 38:37Speaker 7: great combination of dance skill power. But he took on
- 38:41Speaker 7: hits man. He took guys on. So if Natron means ran.
- 38:45Speaker 7: I saw Natron Means on Monday morning and the dude
- 38:48Speaker 7: could barely walk and I was like, what gives with this?
- 38:51Speaker 7: He played a great game. Think about it. If a
- 38:54Speaker 7: running back has twelve twenty carries, let me ask this question,
- 38:59Speaker 7: how many times do you think he gets hit? Take
- 39:02Speaker 7: a guess. If he has twenty carries, how many.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Got to bounce off a couple guys? I would say
- 39:06Speaker 1: about thirty five times.
- 39:08Speaker 7: Okay, there might be one or two where you're tripped up,
- 39:11Speaker 7: one or two that you follow up. Okay, let's say
- 39:13Speaker 7: let's say thirty times. Okay, let's be more conservative by
- 39:17Speaker 7: how many different.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Players throughout the course of the game.
- 39:22Speaker 7: Yeah, how many different players applied those thirty hits.
- 39:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say six.
- 39:30Speaker 7: Okay, six, eight, whatever the number is. So forget the
- 39:34Speaker 7: fact that he's the target of the hits, and let's
- 39:36Speaker 7: say he even delivers some. He's taking thirty blows from
- 39:41Speaker 7: six to eight different guys. The six to eight guys
- 39:45Speaker 7: are still sore because they hit him two or three
- 39:48Speaker 7: times each. But how sore as Natron means? You get
- 39:52Speaker 7: my point? Like, that's where you know LT one of
- 39:56Speaker 7: the greatest running backs all the time. By the fortune,
- 39:58Speaker 7: you know, he lived to fight another day. If it
- 40:02Speaker 7: was fourth down, he stuck his head in there for
- 40:04Speaker 7: the extra yard. But it was second down, and does
- 40:07Speaker 7: it really make a difference if it's if it's third
- 40:09Speaker 7: and six or third and five. I mean, he'd lived
- 40:12Speaker 7: to fight another day and that was smart. The team
- 40:15Speaker 7: wanted him to do that, So that applies to the
- 40:18Speaker 7: injury situation a little bit.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Natron, you know Chris Berman and uh for NFL Prime Time.
- 40:25Speaker 5: He used to say Natron means business.
- 40:28Speaker 4: He always had the best nickname, and then other people
- 40:30Speaker 4: called him Natron refried means.
- 40:35Speaker 5: Two great nicknames.
- 40:36Speaker 7: But anyway, Berman's the best obvious and.
- 40:39Speaker 1: A Natron means bobblehead when I was a kid, so
- 40:42Speaker 1: I just looked up.
- 40:43Speaker 3: His years octave. I wasn't alive for half of them.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I am shocked that we're about to wrap this conversation
- 40:52Speaker 1: and Kendra has not hit doctor David Chow with a
- 40:55Speaker 1: power plant question. Do I live on an alternate first timeline?
- 41:01Speaker 1: What is happening?
- 41:02Speaker 7: Do you have any thoughts towards that? Unfortunately I got
- 41:05Speaker 7: patients running up here, but I'll take that question and look,
- 41:09Speaker 7: if you guys want me, I'll come on again. Okay,
- 41:11Speaker 7: I don't ever mean to catch you guys short kin
- 41:14Speaker 7: and a lot of this was my fault. I went
- 41:16Speaker 7: long winded on some answers, so my bad, Doc.
- 41:20Speaker 1: We appreciate the insight on everything. Six score dot Com
- 41:24Speaker 1: is the parent's site. They've also released Sickpicks dot com.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Use the promo code action when you sign up. Thanks
- 41:30Speaker 1: so much, Doc, We appreciate the time.
- 41:32Speaker 7: Thanks for let me make the phasic announcement. That is
- 41:34Speaker 7: a big We haven't done that, and Gendra, I owe
- 41:37Speaker 7: you if you want to get it in or we'll
- 41:38Speaker 7: do it next time or what have you?
- 41:41Speaker 3: Just a quick yes or no? Do you think of
- 41:42Speaker 3: a power plant in San Francisco is truly contributing to injuries?
- 41:49Speaker 7: No? Okay? And here's what I'll sell it. First of all,
- 41:54Speaker 7: how many Super Bowl trophies of the forty nine ers.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Have quite a few? Ye?
- 42:01Speaker 7: How many have been one with the practice field and
- 42:04Speaker 7: the power plant being next door? All of them? Okay,
- 42:10Speaker 7: my stadium moved there late, all of them?
- 42:13Speaker 5: Okay, thank you?
- 42:15Speaker 7: Is it worth looking into? Sure? Who knows? Is the
- 42:17Speaker 7: power pass?
- 42:18Speaker 1: Like?
- 42:19Speaker 7: I get it all. But the biggest factor is remember
- 42:21Speaker 7: all the years that the forty nine ers used to
- 42:24Speaker 7: draft scrap heat guys, guys coming off of ACL tears
- 42:28Speaker 7: and this that the other as reclamation projects they've been
- 42:31Speaker 7: able to because they've been good. So they're looking for
- 42:33Speaker 7: the diamond in the rough in the later rounds or
- 42:37Speaker 7: or signings. That probably has more to do it with
- 42:40Speaker 7: it than the power plant. I don't see the power
- 42:43Speaker 7: plant being a huge deal, and said at the time,
- 42:46Speaker 7: I'm not a power plant expert, but I don't see
- 42:50Speaker 7: a thing. But John Lynch is smart, address it, study it,
- 42:53Speaker 7: et cetera.
- 42:54Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the forty nine ers.
- 42:55Speaker 4: They continue to draft and sign older players and players
- 42:59Speaker 4: even when draft players with injury history. I mean, just
- 43:01Speaker 4: look at this year. You got Mike Evans older hamstring issues.
- 43:05Speaker 4: They signed Kristen Kirk hamstring issues last year about to
- 43:08Speaker 4: be thirty. You look at some of their defenders that
- 43:11Speaker 4: they've signed have had injury. So like they've they've had,
- 43:15Speaker 4: They've gotten a lot.
- 43:16Speaker 1: I'm not playing them, John Lynch, okay yea prone to
- 43:19Speaker 1: injury doc. Thanks so much for the time. We appreciate it.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Go get to those patients.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 43:24Speaker 1: We opened the show with it. Let's close the show
- 43:26Speaker 1: with it. Time to plant our flag on the World
- 43:29Speaker 1: Cup Final.
- 43:31Speaker 7: Mind the flag and it shut up. I'm trying to
- 43:33Speaker 7: plant my flag here.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Okay, you're really planning your flag in that thick Kendra.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Are you gonna convince me to put my money on
- 43:39Speaker 1: Spain or are we going in a different direction here.
- 43:42Speaker 3: I saw your bet and I like it. However, I
- 43:46Speaker 3: do think that there are going to be some goals scored.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I like the over two and a half plus one
- 43:51Speaker 3: thirty five over on DraftKings. I don't think there's any
- 43:54Speaker 3: way Messy goes out without scoring. I think obviously mul
- 43:57Speaker 3: will probably find the back of the net tomorrow and
- 43:59Speaker 3: there's got to be a decision maker, assuming it will
- 44:02Speaker 3: come late. Like all of Argentina's other goals, I'm going
- 44:04Speaker 3: to continue with the trend of them. Over two and
- 44:06Speaker 3: a half plus one thirty five.
- 44:08Speaker 1: First half draw minus one oh five is my favorite bet.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I also like the first half under at plus one
- 44:14Speaker 1: thirty eight on DK. I thought about just taking the
- 44:17Speaker 1: first half under, but I wound up settling on this.
- 44:19Speaker 1: The quality and form of Spain's defense should you would
- 44:23Speaker 1: think keep this game nice and tight and low scoring.
- 44:25Speaker 1: It's a championship match, so those tend to be a
- 44:27Speaker 1: grind to start, So I'm going to bank on a
- 44:29Speaker 1: grimy first half.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I think there's a chance.
- 44:32Speaker 1: We go scoreless in the first half, So I'll take
- 44:34Speaker 1: the plus one thirty eight on the first half under
- 44:37Speaker 1: and a first half draw at minus one oh five,
- 44:40Speaker 1: hoping to hit both. But we can just get away
- 44:42Speaker 1: with the first half draw minus one oh five.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Stucky.
- 44:48Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with Spain to lift the cup. What
- 44:51Speaker 4: minus one fifty. They've been the best team all tournament.
- 44:55Speaker 4: They also showed it was a masterclass on how the
- 44:58Speaker 4: opposite what England is, how to handle a lead against
- 45:01Speaker 4: a really good, formidable opponent, and what they did against
- 45:05Speaker 4: France is completely shutting them down. I mean every match
- 45:07Speaker 4: this team gives up absolutely nothing. Argentina has had late
- 45:12Speaker 4: escape after late escape. I think their magic runs out here.
- 45:15Speaker 4: People that I don't know much about soccer, people that
- 45:18Speaker 4: do that I trust that I asked. They say it's
- 45:20Speaker 4: a bad matchup for Argentina. So I'm going with Spain
- 45:24Speaker 4: to lift the cup.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Thing to lift the cup minus one fifty the money
- 45:28Speaker 1: line draw or the first half minus one five and
- 45:33Speaker 1: Kendra has the over on two and a half goals.
- 45:36Speaker 1: You can slam that together over on draft Kings where
- 45:39Speaker 1: the Crown is Yours That'll do it for today's episode.
