  SpaceX is preparing for one of the most intense flights of

  human spaceflight. Ever down at Starbase Texas

  SpaceX has a fully stacked Starship.

  Booster 7 and ship 24 on the Launchpad and they're shaping up
• 0:15
  to do a wet dress rehearsal sometime in the near future.

  So they do the ground systems, they elope propellant into the
• 0:22
  thing. They check all the pipes, they
• 0:24
  check all the cables, check all the electronics, check, all the
• 0:27
  systems in between the ground and the Rocket and also the
• 0:31
  communication systems, all of that gets checked during this
• 0:34
  wet dress rehearsal. And there's another thing that's
• 0:37
  really close by to the fully stack, Starship.
• 0:40
  Ship 25 is on ped, be right now, right?
• 0:44
  Next to the fully stacked Starship, ship 25.
• 0:48
  It's odd pad B. It's really close.
• 0:50
  And if they do a wet dress rehearsal, and if something were
• 0:53
  to happen to the booster or to ship 24, ship, 25 could be in
• 0:59
  danger. So are they going to be moving
• 1:01
  ship 25 possibly back to the Bay at some point tomorrow?
• 1:06
  So road closures happen at Starbase when they're going to
• 1:09
  do some sort of testing or moving something from one site
• 1:13
  to the next say it's about a mile and a half distance between
• 1:16
  the production site in the launch site so you get there in
• 1:19
  a couple minutes but if you're 150-foot tall rocket like ship
• 1:24
  25, it's going to take a little while.
• 1:27
  So on Monday, January twenty third, twenty twenty-three. 3 8
• 1:30
  a.m. to 8 p.m. there's a road closure and on Tuesday, January
• 1:33
  24th and 2023. There's another route closure
• 1:36
  schedule. So something may be happening
• 1:38
  and one of those things could be a wet dress rehearsal of the
• 1:42
  rocket. It also, there could be the
• 1:45
  movement of ship 25 before the wet dress rehearsal starts.
• 1:49
  So the main move ship 25 out of that pad off.
• 1:53
  Head be it back to the bay and they removed it from the bay
• 1:57
  because they needed to put another Starship in the In the
• 2:00
  bay to dismantle it. So ship 25.
• 2:04
  It has the Raptor engines on it, it's pretty close to a static
• 2:07
  fire, it has to do some testing for cryogenic testing, and
• 2:11
  pressure, testing and things like that.
• 2:13
  In order for it to do a static fire, the, the the fact that
• 2:16
  it's so close to this ship to this fully stacked, start ship,
• 2:20
  that's ready for a wet dress rehearsal.

  It's dangerous. So I believe they're going to be
• 2:24
  moving ship, 25 away from there and then they're going to be
• 2:28
  moving towards The full wet dress, rehearsal of a fully
• 2:33
  stacked. Starship, has it been done with
• 2:36
  this one yet in? This is crazy.

  Cool. Crazy, crazy, cool.
• 2:41
  Because this shows that SpaceX is almost ready for the flight
• 2:46
  of ship 24. And booster 7.
• 2:48
  Now, what do they have to do for this wet dresser?
• 2:50
  So, basically, everything except for launch the vehicle, they
• 2:52
  have to put propellant in it. If the test the ground systems
• 2:56
  and all the ground systems means every line that fuel The booster
• 3:01
  in the ship and also the towers are going to be testing the
• 3:04
  tower as well. All the tanking all the D
• 3:06
  tanking, they're testing all of that before the actual launch.
• 3:10
  So, what's going to happen? After the wet dress rehearsal,
• 3:14
  we're going to kind of jump around here a little bit.
• 3:15
  They're going to be moving ship, 24 off the top of booster 7.
• 3:21
  And if anything were to happen during this wet dress rehearsal,
• 3:24
  they're going to have to move either the ship or the booster
• 3:27
  back to one of those Bay's in. In order to fix it, you know,
• 3:31
  during the wet dress, rehearsal of the SLS, we've seen it
• 3:35
  numerous times, they had to move the ship from the launch site,
• 3:39
  back to the high Bay, you know, there are there thousand
• 3:44
  breaking points between the ground area, the ground systems
• 3:49
  in the ship, and I'm just going to be realistic with you here.
• 3:51
  Because I love the idea that this goes perfect, the first
• 3:55
  time and I, we have to think logically here.
• 3:58
  There are so many Failure points in between the ground systems in
• 4:03
  the ship. They're continuing testing shows
• 4:06
  that this is almost ready to launch, right?
• 4:09
  And if anything goes wrong with the booster, anything goes wrong
• 4:11
  with a ship, they have to dismantle it.
• 4:14
  And they have to take the booster or the ship back to the
• 4:17
  bay and say is this worth fixing or should we move on to another
• 4:22
  booster and to another ship your ship. 25 is right there.
• 4:26
  You know, and the next boosters ready, it's all All ready to go.
• 4:30
  I mean they have the the Raptor twos on the booster right now
• 4:34
  and if something were to happen it it's like we can't really do
• 4:37
  anything with this booster anymore.
• 4:38
  We realized this isn't going to be the one they can stand down.
• 4:42
  They don't have to launch this. There's no there's no law saying
• 4:45
  SpaceX has to launch. This booster, they could even
• 4:49
  though we don't want it to, they could take this booster and move
• 4:52
  it back to the bay and say, hey yeah, this is a catastrophic
• 4:55
  failure. We have to move on from this.
• 4:58
  But if everything goes well, think about that, if everything
• 5:01
  goes, well SpaceX will soon be launching the Starship for the
• 5:06
  first orbital flight test. They have to remove the ship
• 5:09
  ship 24 before they do that and they're going to do a static
• 5:12
  fire of the booster now, there's other things in the path of the
• 5:16
  flight that may get in the way. And these are kind of
• 5:21
  speculation at this point, but I want to tell you about them
• 5:23
  because it's not happening for this flight.
• 5:26
  It may happen for flight to In that they're building a deluge
• 5:30
  system down there. The Deluge system is basically
• 5:33
  sound suppression for the rocket because this is a, even though
• 5:38
  it's out the middle of nowhere, the booster is the most powerful
• 5:42
  rocket that's ever been built and the blast from this rocket
• 5:47
  could shatter Windows could hurt people.
• 5:51
  You know could hurt things, you know, material things Vehicles,
• 5:56
  Etc, miles and miles away. And the suppression system.
• 6:00
  The Deluge system could mitigate that to some point, right?
• 6:06
  And they're moving these tanks from from Florida, over to Boca
• 6:10
  Chica right now. The Rada barge right now and the
• 6:12
  moving them over to Boca Chica where starbases and those tanks
• 6:17
  will be hopefully partially, possibly all of them could be
• 6:23
  for a deluge system that shoots water under the booster.
• 6:28
  As it ignites in all of the force, it's going down creates
• 6:33
  energy, which ripples the are basically and shoot sound
• 6:39
  everywhere, but the water shoots towards that sound all around it
• 6:43
  and kind of mitigates those those those vibrations
• 6:48
  basically. And also they have to think
• 6:50
  about the orbital launch Mount, it's going to vibrate like crazy
• 6:54
  in. This water is going to stop it
• 6:57
  from vibrating. Because if they don't stop this
• 7:00
  thing from vibrating from those 33 engines, the something
• 7:03
  catastrophic could go wrong with the ground systems and if
• 7:07
  something goes wrong with the ground systems, that's hard to
• 7:09
  replace building a rocket. Even though it's one of the most
• 7:13
  incredible Feats that humans can do building a gigantic rocket.
• 7:17
  Like this is insanely difficult, the ground systems can't be
• 7:21
  replaced as quickly as a rocket. So think about that for a
• 7:25
  second. Would they launch this rocket?
• 7:28
  Knowing that there could be some damage from these 33 boosters
• 7:33
  and set them back. Six months to repair this
• 7:37
  orbital launch Mount or would they just bring in some water?
• 7:42
  I mean, what's the logical? What's the logical explanation
• 7:46
  in your head where they just go? Okay, let's just whatever this
• 7:49
  fly it or would they go, you know, this is a really important
• 7:52
  Mission because in a couple of years NASA is going to depend on
• 7:58
  this rocket and they're going to depend on this system, including
• 8:02
  the orbital launch Mountain at all.
• 8:04
  The electronics, all the pipes, everything on the ground, that's
• 8:08
  built to blast this rocket into orbit.
• 8:11
  And to the Moon, NASA and people are depending on this to work
• 8:16
  perfectly every single time and of Space X were to get this
• 8:20
  Deluge system in place. In the next few weeks, they
• 8:22
  could possibly test it a few times before.
• 8:26
  Or what edelen says late, February, sometime in March, for
• 8:31
  the launch of the Starship. So there is a silver lining
• 8:34
  here, you know, even though it may stop the launch from
• 8:38
  happening in the meantime, you know, in the time that we're
• 8:41
  here right now, for the next few weeks, we do want to see a
• 8:44
  launch, of course, like as soon as possible, I think I'll be
• 8:46
  amazing, but also do it, right? You know, I don't think Elon is
• 8:51
  ever done anything. That's sort of half-hearted, you
• 8:54
  know, like if you're going to do it, do it right?
• 8:55
  And In Shotwell is, in charge of this stuff now.
• 8:58
  So Gwynne Shotwell in charge of Starbase in charge of Starship.

  So there's no reason why they wouldn't.
• 9:05
  Just hold off a little bit and do it properly.
• 9:08
  And here's one of the things that I want to show you as well,
• 9:11
  and for anybody that's listening right now, there's a TFR in
• 9:14
  place for January, 23rd in January 24th in the TFR is the
• 9:18
  really important part, because this is a no-fly zone no-fly
• 9:23
  zone around Starbase. So basically, anything up to
• 9:27
  14,000 feet from the surface up to 14,000 feet and this means
• 9:35
  that they are thinking about things that could go wrong.
• 9:39
  So if you load propellant into this gigantic rocket, the most
• 9:44
  Propel has ever been loaded into any rocket ever, basically, the
• 9:47
  biggest rocket ever needs the most fuel ever.
• 9:50
  And anything goes wrong. If there's any sort of ignition,
• 9:53
  that's not supposed to happen. They need to make sure that
• 9:58
  people are safe planes that are flying overhead or safe people,
• 10:02
  you know, plays. It are flying near, it are safe
• 10:04
  because there's a there's a keep out Zone around it as well, not
• 10:07
  just up, so anything that's 30,000 feet up, you know, that's
• 10:10
  should be fine but, you know, low-flying aircraft up to 14,000
• 10:14
  feet, you know, those those would be damaged.
• 10:16
  So anything around there is cut off from the rest of, you know,
• 10:22
  from from the whole area down there.
• 10:25
  So you can't fly. Over it.
• 10:27
  So that was an important one in SpaceX just recently on Twitter,
• 10:31
  it was January 12th, I believe January 12.

  They said teams are stepping into a series of tests prior to
• 10:38
  Starships. First flight test in the weeks
• 10:39
  ahead including full stack, wet dress rehearsals and hold down
• 10:43
  firing of booster. Sevens 33 Raptors so they are
• 10:48
  ready for this in the weeks ahead full stack wet dress,
• 10:52
  rehearsals So this could be numerous wet dress rehearsals
• 10:58
  and hold down firing of booster 733 Raptor.

  It could they be doing a few wet dress rehearsals just to make
• 11:05
  sure that everything is okay, series of tests prior to
• 11:09
  Starships, first flight, test in the weeks ahead.

  So they think SpaceX actually put this out on their Twitter
• 11:15
  test prior to start his first flight tests in the weeks ahead.
• 11:20
  Could they meet a few weeks or could they mean 8 to 12?
• 11:24
  12. 16 20 weeks, that's weeks ahead.
• 11:29
  Also, we got to remember, like, I was saying before, if there's
• 11:31
  a leak, if there's something that goes wrong during this wet
• 11:34
  dress rehearsal, something could stop them from doing this and
• 11:39
  they could take some time. They may even take a week maybe
• 11:41
  two weeks to fix a leak, and then they're going to have to do
• 11:45
  a whole series of tests again, to make sure that the leak is
• 11:48
  fixed. So they could do a small, small
• 11:51
  leak test. Instead of doing a full wet
• 11:53
  dress rehearsal. Do Ending on where this leak is
• 11:56
  and I'm just being pragmatic here.
• 11:59
  You know, I'm not I'm not here to be at somebody's Downer or
• 12:02
  anything like that. I'm here to to, you know, bring
• 12:05
  you up to speed with what's going on down there.
• 12:06
  But also, we have to be very logical about this because this
• 12:10
  is rocket science. And this is very dangerous and
• 12:15
  this could have consequences that could last for years.
• 12:19
  So you have to think about those things.
• 12:21
  If there's some sort of leak, if there's something, some Faulty.
• 12:24
  Something could be a pipe, could be a rivet, could be anything.
• 12:28
  It could be a wire could be electric.
• 12:30
  Could be anything SpaceX has to mitigate that for the launch.
• 12:34
  They have to stop that in its, you know, in the place and they
• 12:37
  have to fix it wherever it is, if it's a ground system, they
• 12:40
  fix it on the ground, if it's in the rocket or the or the
• 12:43
  booster, they take it back to the bay and fix it, or they
• 12:45
  could possibly fix it there in the pad depending on how major
• 12:49
  or minor the the damages to the thing.
• 12:52
  So, there's a possibility. We could see this thing happen
• 12:56
  really fast. If everything goes well,
• 12:59
  everything could go perfectly. Well, the first time around and
• 13:04
  nothing bad can happen in, they could just launch this thing in
• 13:06
  a few weeks, but I do believe it's going to take a little
• 13:09
  while. They see test in the weeks in
• 13:11
  the weeks ahead Fightin test prior to the Starships, first
• 13:14
  flight test in the weeks ahead. And that's kind of, I don't know
• 13:19
  if it's misleading, but I think it's optimistic, I really do
• 13:22
  think it's optimistic. Adding full stack wet dress,
• 13:25
  rehearsals numerous wet dress rehearsals and hold down
• 13:28
  fighting over after 733 Raptor or booster sevens Raptor
• 13:32
  engines. So I believe they got to be
• 13:35
  moving the ship out of the way ship 25 and I believe when they
• 13:39
  do the full 33 engine static fire.
• 13:44
  This got it. I think there's got to be a
• 13:47
  suppression system but please I hope they proved me wrong and I
• 13:51
  think the orbital launch Mount, if it can take, if it can,
• 13:56
  withstand the heat from those 33 Raptor engines and it doesn't
• 14:02
  melt things around the bottom of the, of the order lodgement.
• 14:07
  It's not going to it's probably not going to melt the mount
• 14:09
  itself, but the things around it, there was exposed
• 14:13
  Electronics. No, there's there's welded pipes
• 14:16
  on there which bring, you know, coolant from one place to
• 14:19
  another place. But there's also wiring, which
• 14:22
  we all know wiring is, you know, it's just wires with wrapped in
• 14:26
  plastic or Rubber and that could possibly melt, in ruin the whole
• 14:31
  area wherever he gets melted. So sound suppression system.
• 14:35
  The water Deluge system could that be in place within the next
• 14:38
  few days before the 33 Raptor engines, they could possibly
• 14:44
  wire it up. Up hook it up within the next
• 14:46
  week or two. If the barge gets over here in
• 14:48
  the next two days and if they do a wet dress rehearsal.
• 14:51
  So let's let's break it down like this.
• 14:53
  If they do a wet dress rehearsal on Monday or Tuesday, the not
• 14:57
  Marv was for Monday through Tuesday.

  So if they do that if they do the wet dress rehearsal Monday
• 15:04
  they take that data. They crunch down the data for a
• 15:07
  few days. And during that time, a barge
• 15:10
  comes in with all these tanks with a deluge, they could
• 15:13
  possibly set up a You'd system, they may even have the pipes
• 15:18
  ready to go, because we've seen them do a small Deluge system
• 15:22
  underneath the rocket before, and it's basically like a little
• 15:25
  sprinkler system, but maybe they just didn't have the water
• 15:28
  pressure for a real big W system.
• 15:30
  Maybe they didn't have anything hooked up to it.
• 15:32
  That could actually, you know, powerful enough to shoot the
• 15:35
  water to a big enough. Big enough area like a like a
• 15:39
  full 33 Raptor engine. Static fire.
• 15:42
  Could take. Hopefully SpaceX steps in and
• 15:46
  they do the right thing and they get some sort of sound
• 15:50
  suppression system, some sort of water Deluge system in there and
• 15:54
  they they protect themselves because they need to protect
• 15:57
  this orbital launch Mountain, they need to protect this rocket
• 16:01
