Fanore Geoscientist Leads First National Coastal Erosion Map

A new study led by researchers at University College Cork has produced the first national map showing Ireland’s exposure to coastal hazards including erosion, flooding and rising sea levels. The research identifies significant areas of risk along the coastline and highlights the protective role of natural habitats such as dunes and saltmarshes. Geoscientist and lead researcher from Fanore, Kevin Walsh joined Alan Morrissey to take a closer look at County Clare and the areas most vulnerable to climate-related risks. Photo (c) Visit Clare
