- 0:08Speaker 1: Look up, Fads, I'm your house chat. I am the host,
- 0:23Speaker 1: Chad Noman. You're not allowed to mock me in front
- 0:26Speaker 1: of me. You two were almost insane podcast. That's like,
- 0:34Speaker 1: it's it's disrespectful. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I'm not that nasily. Am I that nasily? Now you are?
- 0:44Speaker 1: You know what's nice? You know what's nice? Black Jack?
- 0:47Speaker 1: You and I together again, staring into each other's eyes,
- 0:51Speaker 1: me getting a close look at your chest hair and
- 0:55Speaker 1: gold rope chain behind your gold lemon jackie it in
- 1:00Speaker 1: which you are wearing no shirt, no shirt together again.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Oh how I've missed you for the first time in
- 1:07Speaker 1: like months. Actually, yeah, you know what happened. I blame
- 1:12Speaker 1: Matt Ford, the producer. I'm blaming matt Ford for not
- 1:15Speaker 1: being the room right now. So I'm blaming Thatt Forward
- 1:17Speaker 1: for not being here and leaving Antonio to mock me.
- 1:20Speaker 1: If Matt was HERERI would have mocked you worse. So true.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Um no, but Matt Ford somehow decided to tear us
- 1:29Speaker 1: apart in sort of the way we did the podcast,
- 1:33Speaker 1: and I, being a leader, was like I'm putting my
- 1:36Speaker 1: foot down. There's all more more crap. You call it
- 1:40Speaker 1: being a leader. I'm just gonna say you were jealous
- 1:42Speaker 1: that me and Lduca became closer than me and you.
- 1:44Speaker 1: You and Lduca have a very popular radio show on
- 1:47Speaker 1: Shannon Lady seven, the Fantasy Network on Sirius every morning
- 1:51Speaker 1: from nine to eleven a m. Eastern CC that comment
- 1:54Speaker 1: to my agent, you don't need uh, you don't need
- 1:59Speaker 1: more pack past time. You and I, however, you know
- 2:03Speaker 1: what we need to do. This is like were like
- 2:07Speaker 1: couples counsels thing and more like preseason, like we're getting
- 2:09Speaker 1: into it, like we gotta get ready for the NFL
- 2:11Speaker 1: season because the last one went so well. You and me, baby,
- 2:17Speaker 1: You and me? You think the song is you and I?
- 2:21Speaker 1: So that's proper grammar? No nobody baby but you. I
- 2:26Speaker 1: think it's like you're just making something up. No, it's
- 2:29Speaker 1: by Penny in the Quarters. Okay, that's not a thing.
- 2:32Speaker 1: How much you want to bet? I'm literally looking at Antonio.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Are you looking it up? All right? Both of you
- 2:38Speaker 1: guys can look it up. Are you ready to do
- 2:40Speaker 1: some hardcore gambling conversation? Hard core? Because if you're not
- 2:44Speaker 1: hard we got Eastern Conference finals tied to two. We
- 2:49Speaker 1: got Western Conference finals sweep. We got NBA finals that
- 2:53Speaker 1: we got to discuss. We got Stanley Cup Finals that
- 2:58Speaker 1: we got to discuss. You had Dale Earnhardt Jr. On
- 3:01Speaker 1: The Show and the Serious Show. There's a couple of
- 3:04Speaker 1: questions I want to ask you about that. Do you
- 3:09Speaker 1: feel like talking to any baseball I made a baseball
- 3:11Speaker 1: features that. Sure, what do you want to talk about? First?
- 3:14Speaker 1: You want to talk about NBA? We should probably go
- 3:17Speaker 1: with what's relevant topically and go with the NBA. Look
- 3:20Speaker 1: at you, You've got a radio show and all of
- 3:21Speaker 1: a sudden, you're like, I know what we should do
- 3:24Speaker 1: on something? Someone talk about something relevant topically, Like you've
- 3:28Speaker 1: never used that phrase in your life. Somebody has to
- 3:31Speaker 1: be the adult in the room, and somehow that's become me.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Why are you looking at Antonio when you say that,
- 3:37Speaker 1: because he knows he knows people see what's going on?
- 3:44Speaker 1: Six months? Still have your job over under me? Ye?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Six months to any of us have a job question?
- 3:53Speaker 1: You've made me become the adult in the room. Uh,
- 3:59Speaker 1: what's the what's a line on that? You said? Six months? Under?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Six months until I'm head of content at the Action
- 4:06Speaker 1: Network minus one. I would take the plus money on that.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Good luck with that, buddy. You don't realize I'm slowly
- 4:17Speaker 1: usurping your role. It's not slow. This is a is
- 4:21Speaker 1: the long con. I'm so keen politically. I know how
- 4:25Speaker 1: to maneuver. I'm glad you think. So what do you
- 4:29Speaker 1: think of the Bucks Raptors? Uh, let's talk about it
- 4:32Speaker 1: for a second. Can we be real here? Wow? Look
- 4:36Speaker 1: all right, you're taking too long. I like Toronto was
- 4:39Speaker 1: on the Bucks last night. At everyone else at this
- 4:44Speaker 1: company was um, not me and not Paula Duca. Paula
- 4:49Speaker 1: Duke had forty units on the Raptors. I was not
- 4:52Speaker 1: quite that heavy on them. But the Raptors. Yeah, I
- 4:55Speaker 1: like Toronto. Um, I think that this. I said it
- 4:58Speaker 1: from the beginning. I thought this was seven games. I
- 4:59Speaker 1: still think it's seven games. Toronto displayed last night to
- 5:03Speaker 1: be a lot of toughness, like mental toughness, because I wasn't.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I thought after Game three, even though they won Game three,
- 5:10Speaker 1: I thought they were done because it took everything in
- 5:13Speaker 1: the world to go right for them, y honest, to
- 5:16Speaker 1: score twelve points and double over time for them to
- 5:18Speaker 1: get a win. That felt like a recipe for disaster
- 5:20Speaker 1: and then they come out in Game four and they
- 5:22Speaker 1: control it. I mean, they controlled that game start to finish,
- 5:26Speaker 1: and I love what they did in what was Kawai
- 5:29Speaker 1: Leonard's worst game of the playoffs. So why do you
- 5:32Speaker 1: But I don't really understand why you were betting on
- 5:35Speaker 1: the Raptors if they needed all those things to be true,
- 5:38Speaker 1: because Milwaukee shouldn't have been a favorite on the road
- 5:40Speaker 1: in that game. It shouldn't have been a three point favorite.
- 5:44Speaker 1: You know what's funny. I did think it was weird.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I thought it was like a massive over adjustment, and
- 5:50Speaker 1: I thought it was weird when sort of some of
- 5:52Speaker 1: the sharpest people at Action Network started betting in Milwaukee too,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know, man, this seems a little weird.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And I went with it just because I hadn't done
- 6:01Speaker 1: my research yet and the people I thought were really
- 6:03Speaker 1: smart were doing it, and that's how I live. I
- 6:06Speaker 1: gotta get some action. Yeah, well, I mean they they
- 6:10Speaker 1: listen to the bench. Production for Toronto was outstanding. I mean,
- 6:13Speaker 1: Norman Powell, how the hell does he shoot thirteen threes
- 6:16Speaker 1: in the game. I don't. I didn't even though he
- 6:18Speaker 1: had that shot in his arsenal let alone thirteen. There
- 6:21Speaker 1: was a stat last night during the game that this
- 6:22Speaker 1: was the most points he had had since the two
- 6:24Speaker 1: thousand seven in a playoff game, since two thousand seventeen.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I thought that was a random fact, Like it's only
- 6:31Speaker 1: two years ago and it's Norman Powell. It's not like
- 6:33Speaker 1: it's Michael Jordan's scoring seventy five and he normally scores forty.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It's Norman Powell, who might normally score like fifteen at
- 6:40Speaker 1: the most, getting twenty five in the first half or whatever.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Like that wasn't a stat that was like barstool always
- 6:45Speaker 1: does that saber metrics thing. That felt like saber metric. Um.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I think I still like Toronto because I think I
- 6:55Speaker 1: think Toronto, over these last few years of kind of
- 6:58Speaker 1: getting their ass handed to him by Lebron James in
- 7:00Speaker 1: the playoffs, I think they've developed a little bit of
- 7:02Speaker 1: a thick skin. I think they're tougher than than we
- 7:06Speaker 1: give them credit for. Particularly Kyle Lowry. I've become a
- 7:09Speaker 1: big fan of Kyle Lowry in these playoffs. Guy's a
- 7:12Speaker 1: bulldog man, plays defense, hard nosed. You know, he's the
- 7:16Speaker 1: guy that'll get out there. He'll take a charge, he's
- 7:19Speaker 1: he's enthusiastic on defense, and when he's putting up twenty
- 7:22Speaker 1: five points, you're not beating the Raptors. Do you feel
- 7:24Speaker 1: like Kyle Lowry is thinking that this is a bittersweet
- 7:29Speaker 1: experience for him because without to Rosen, without to row
- 7:32Speaker 1: De Rosen, But like, Kawhi Leonard is so good. He's like,
- 7:34Speaker 1: oh my god, this guy Kauai versus I kind of
- 7:37Speaker 1: wish my best friend was here. I'm sure there's a
- 7:39Speaker 1: little bit of him wishing to Rosen was there. But
- 7:42Speaker 1: I also think, I mean, it's no secret Kawhi Leonard
- 7:45Speaker 1: Kauai not Kauai. Kyle Lowry doesn't really have a great
- 7:48Speaker 1: relationship with the Raptors front office, and I think that's
- 7:51Speaker 1: been well documented. But you also have to recognize this
- 7:54Speaker 1: is probably his best chance to win a title, and
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'm sure he knows that. So yeah, if you can,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I Kawhi Leonard into the finals, and you know, give
- 8:04Speaker 1: it a run. See what happens. I do love the
- 8:06Speaker 1: way both of these cities, this is not gambling specific,
- 8:09Speaker 1: but in Toronto they've got Jurassic Park and in Milwaukee
- 8:13Speaker 1: they've got what do they call it, like the Deer Something,
- 8:15Speaker 1: Deer Valley or whatever. The outdoor experiences that these fans
- 8:20Speaker 1: are having, it makes the game so much bigger. It
- 8:23Speaker 1: makes them feel like such. It's a magnificent events, it does.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And that that's the thing that I've really enjoyed about
- 8:28Speaker 1: these playoffs without Lebron in because if Lebron was in
- 8:32Speaker 1: this on Cleveland or whatever, you knew, you knew what
- 8:35Speaker 1: was happening, it would have taken a monumental upset. But now,
- 8:38Speaker 1: like all these cities are kind of into it. Everyone's
- 8:41Speaker 1: been really into it. You saw it even in Portland.
- 8:43Speaker 1: You know how how excited that city was to make
- 8:46Speaker 1: it back to the conference finals. Toronto has been so
- 8:50Speaker 1: enthusiastic about supporting the Raptors Milwaukee. It's it's added excitement
- 8:55Speaker 1: having a little bit of unknown. Yeah, No, it's great.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I think we're gonna be an opposite of who we
- 9:00Speaker 1: think wins this series though, You've got you know, it's
- 9:03Speaker 1: now a best of three series and I'm going to
- 9:07Speaker 1: be in Milwaukee. Here's the problem with that, I think
- 9:10Speaker 1: Milwaukee is that is that what you're saying. No, I
- 9:13Speaker 1: think Milwaukee wins Game five. I don't think they cover
- 9:15Speaker 1: I think that line is stupid. Is Milwaukee man seven
- 9:21Speaker 1: for Game five? Oh my god, are you kidding me?
- 9:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna look in the Action Network gap, which is
- 9:27Speaker 1: what free it's right? Uh, it's Milwaukee minus seven. It's
- 9:32Speaker 1: an insane number to have out there. That is nuts. Alright,
- 9:38Speaker 1: So I probably won't bet Milwaukee minus seven. It's but
- 9:40Speaker 1: I do think Milwaukee wins the game. Um, they played
- 9:43Speaker 1: differently at home. Your honest is going to get more
- 9:45Speaker 1: calls at home. They'll play better there. I think the
- 9:48Speaker 1: Raptors hold court in Game six, and then listen, if
- 9:51Speaker 1: you're giving me a Game seven. I love the Bucks.
- 9:54Speaker 1: They're a great team. Your honest is great, But the
- 9:57Speaker 1: Raptors are a team that's been tested. They've been down
- 10:00Speaker 1: this road before. Kawai Leonards a guy with championship experience.
- 10:04Speaker 1: You saw how important that was in Game seven against
- 10:06Speaker 1: the Sixers. I don't think Milwaukee has that level of
- 10:11Speaker 1: experience to get it done in the game seven. I
- 10:13Speaker 1: don't care that it's in Milwaukee. I would take Toronto
- 10:16Speaker 1: in a Game seven. I don't think Kawi Leonards letting
- 10:19Speaker 1: that team lose a Game seven. I don't. I don't
- 10:20Speaker 1: think it's happening. He might not be able to function
- 10:23Speaker 1: by Game seven. That's true, but I think that the
- 10:25Speaker 1: Raptors have also found a way to limit Janice's effectiveness.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You're not gonna stop him, but like, can we talk
- 10:32Speaker 1: for a second about how bad he is from the
- 10:35Speaker 1: free throw line? Chad? He had two air balls? Yeah?
- 10:38Speaker 1: What was that? Almost third? This guy is an all
- 10:43Speaker 1: world player. And I'll be perfectly honest with you, I
- 10:46Speaker 1: didn't realize he was this bad from the free throw
- 10:48Speaker 1: line until this series. And I think Toronto has figured
- 10:51Speaker 1: it out that if he gets in the lane, you're
- 10:54Speaker 1: gonna hit him. You're gonna hit him pretty hard. Make
- 10:56Speaker 1: him make the free throws or settle for a jump
- 10:58Speaker 1: shot because he's not a jump shooter either. He's all right,
- 11:01Speaker 1: but he's not great, and I think they figured out
- 11:04Speaker 1: how to limit him a little bit. I'm trying to
- 11:07Speaker 1: think of something that rhymes with freak, that could be
- 11:10Speaker 1: like hack a shack um. On the radio show today,
- 11:14Speaker 1: Paul started referring to him as Janice. I can't hit
- 11:17Speaker 1: the hoopto That's what he was calling. I gotta say,
- 11:23Speaker 1: almost fears like a rare moment of clarity for Laduga.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Uh No. The rare moment of clarity was when he
- 11:30Speaker 1: accurately corrected the grammar of a newsday reporter on Twitter.
- 11:33Speaker 1: That was a shocking moment. He did that too yesterday.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I was stunned. Maybe he's learning from us, that's not likely.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Um broken clock, my man? How many? So Janice? His uh?
- 11:49Speaker 1: I mean his his um props are always kind of amazing, right,
- 11:53Speaker 1: because they're so bloated there, like over under thirteen and
- 11:57Speaker 1: a half rebounds, over under twenty seven and a half points,
- 12:00Speaker 1: um over under five and a half cists for a
- 12:02Speaker 1: guy who plays in the paint and it's you know,
- 12:05Speaker 1: seven seven, eight hundred pounds. So, but it's hard for
- 12:10Speaker 1: me to look at these numbers and never think, oh, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 1: he's going over. The only one that actually looks even
- 12:16Speaker 1: hardest to me is the rebounds. Like I look at
- 12:18Speaker 1: the seven and a half points in a game five,
- 12:21Speaker 1: and I'm like, of course he's gonna have rebounds. To me, though,
- 12:26Speaker 1: that feels like an under. It's a lot too because
- 12:28Speaker 1: they have a lot of big bodies on that that
- 12:31Speaker 1: Now I know a lot of a lot of their
- 12:32Speaker 1: bigs play out on the perimeter, but there's a lot
- 12:35Speaker 1: of guys on that team that hustle for rebounds. I mean, hell,
- 12:38Speaker 1: that kid off the bench, Connat, I mean that that guy.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Love that guy. My god, have you seen anybody make
- 12:44Speaker 1: more of the minutes they're playing in a playoff game
- 12:46Speaker 1: than him? I just wish he'd hit a shot. It's
- 12:48Speaker 1: not this thing you do. He's like t J McConnell,
- 12:51Speaker 1: just taller. I really wish he'd hit a shot. I
- 12:53Speaker 1: just feel better for him. Uh. The other one I'm
- 12:55Speaker 1: looking at is Eric Bledsoe, Eric bledso what is going
- 12:59Speaker 1: on there him? I expected him to be a lights
- 13:05Speaker 1: out superstar in this series. I thought this would be
- 13:09Speaker 1: a coming out party for terrible, terrible performance. So his
- 13:12Speaker 1: totals are all depressed, Like eleven and a half points,
- 13:14Speaker 1: four and a half assist, three and a half rebounds,
- 13:16Speaker 1: like one and a half, three point field goals made,
- 13:19Speaker 1: like these are the right numbers based on playing man
- 13:24Speaker 1: he's been. He's been atrocious. He's been really bad. I
- 13:28Speaker 1: mean he he's playing worse than Kyrie Irving did in
- 13:32Speaker 1: the last round against Milwaukee. He's having just an awful series.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And again, I think a lot of that credit cost
- 13:37Speaker 1: Kyle Lowry. He's played really good defense. So they're gonna
- 13:42Speaker 1: play the Warriors. Somebody's gonna play the Warriors, So we're
- 13:44Speaker 1: gonna be on opposite sides for the rest of the series.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna be on Milwaukee. Um, I think it's gonna
- 13:50Speaker 1: be a seven game series. You're gonna be on Toronto.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You basically think Kauai is gonna best nice in game seven,
- 13:57Speaker 1: which is interesting. Feeling a little set a mental about
- 14:00Speaker 1: the Bucks to um. You know, they just feel like
- 14:03Speaker 1: a fun seventies and eighties team. To me, I'm excited
- 14:06Speaker 1: about sort of Milwaukee becoming a basketball town in Toronto
- 14:09Speaker 1: is a better city. Toronto is a pretty great city.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Toronto is a great city. Yeah, I can't argue that
- 14:19Speaker 1: it's a great town. Canada is a great country. I
- 14:21Speaker 1: love Canada. I love Toronto. Toronto is New York without
- 14:24Speaker 1: any of the bad stuff. Now it's more like Chicago. Dude.
- 14:28Speaker 1: People aren't getting gunned down all over Toronto. Buddy, Look,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you're an idiot. It's all the good things about New
- 14:33Speaker 1: York without the bad. It's the world's third largest English
- 14:36Speaker 1: speaking theater district. You could say that about then you
- 14:39Speaker 1: could say it's Chicago to like, people aren't getting goune.
- 14:41Speaker 1: It's it's like all the things about Chicago. Okay, yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 1: but let's be honest. New York's got more going on
- 14:47Speaker 1: in Chicago does really. It's the reason it's called the
- 14:50Speaker 1: second city. It's not because it's second to New York.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It's because of the politicians. You're gonna make a case
- 14:58Speaker 1: for Chicago over New York. I'm going to make a
- 15:01Speaker 1: case why is this company headquarters in Chicago. I'm going
- 15:03Speaker 1: to make a case for betting on Serge Ibaka under
- 15:09Speaker 1: nine and a half rebounds? Where am I going to
- 15:13Speaker 1: make a case for over night and a half. That's
- 15:14Speaker 1: a crap shoot and it's not a bet that's really
- 15:17Speaker 1: worth taking it is. You're right, could go either way,
- 15:19Speaker 1: it's not there's no value there. I think jan is
- 15:22Speaker 1: under thirteen and a half and over twenty seven and
- 15:24Speaker 1: a half is the best place. I would like both
- 15:26Speaker 1: of those. Yeah, I go over on the point. Could
- 15:28Speaker 1: you agree with me? So when we get to the
- 15:29Speaker 1: finals and they have to play the Golden State Warriors,
- 15:34Speaker 1: this is silly. No one's being right. So how do
- 15:39Speaker 1: you bet that series? Then do you start betting it
- 15:40Speaker 1: like a bet, how many games Warriors in. If it's Milwaukee,
- 15:45Speaker 1: I think it's Warriors in five. Um, if it's Toronto,
- 15:49Speaker 1: it's Warriors in six. Okay, I think it's Warriors in
- 15:54Speaker 1: six against against the Bucks. I mean you can think that.
- 15:57Speaker 1: That's fine. Do you want to bet right now? That's
- 15:59Speaker 1: what it's going to be. Um, you want, here's what
- 16:02Speaker 1: we can do, here's what we can do. We should
- 16:05Speaker 1: probably wait till next week once the Eastern Conference finals
- 16:07Speaker 1: are over. But I mean, if you want to be premature,
- 16:10Speaker 1: that's your thing. I will tell you. Oh, I get
- 16:12Speaker 1: what you're doing there. You think you're so funny, like
- 16:17Speaker 1: you make you make a joke. You make a joke,
- 16:21Speaker 1: and then you look around. You're hoping Antonio noticed. Guess
- 16:24Speaker 1: what Antonio, once he was finished mocking me, stop paying
- 16:27Speaker 1: attention to the podcast, he started looking at his phone.
- 16:30Speaker 1: He's returning emails, he's working on something else. He was
- 16:33Speaker 1: not thinking, or what's the sophomore of jokes. Connor Davidson's
- 16:37Speaker 1: here and he has the you know, sense of humor
- 16:40Speaker 1: of a six year old. So I'm good. Connor always
- 16:43Speaker 1: looks like he's smiling. He wasn't listening to you either.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Oh he heard it. He heard it. Besides, I don't
- 16:49Speaker 1: know what you' talking. What I'm gonna say is when
- 16:51Speaker 1: we bet the finals, we can just bet double or
- 16:55Speaker 1: nothing on what you owe me from the n C
- 16:56Speaker 1: double A tournament. Okay, do you want to do that
- 16:58Speaker 1: when we actually know the finals? Fine, but you still
- 17:00Speaker 1: haven't paid me. Well, you know I could say the
- 17:03Speaker 1: same to you. Is it because you're trying to buy
- 17:06Speaker 1: a shirt? Ah? This is a choice, my friend, This
- 17:10Speaker 1: is a choice. Is it a choice not to pay
- 17:11Speaker 1: me for my bet? Is I need to get female
- 17:14Speaker 1: listeners on this show somehow? Dude. The last couple of
- 17:16Speaker 1: events we've had his Action Network, the female population has
- 17:19Speaker 1: risen exponentially. We've only had two of them, and the
- 17:23Speaker 1: first one we had like five or six, and the
- 17:25Speaker 1: next one we had about twenty one, was in Las Vegas.
- 17:29Speaker 1: All right, So what are we doing here with the West?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Are we talking about the West? You just said you
- 17:33Speaker 1: want to talk about the West. We're twenty minutes and
- 17:35Speaker 1: we've we've covered one series. Well, there's left to say
- 17:39Speaker 1: about the West. There's no reason for anybody to bet
- 17:42Speaker 1: anything other than Golden State in the finals, right, of
- 17:44Speaker 1: course not. I mean without Kadi. We didn't experiment uh
- 17:50Speaker 1: on the Action Network, in which we um to sort
- 17:53Speaker 1: of to make the debate about Warriors with or without
- 17:57Speaker 1: Kadi tangible. We simulated down NBA two K Warriors with
- 18:02Speaker 1: and Warriors without and that's real sound logic, video game simulations. Great.
- 18:07Speaker 1: And what was the result? Sean Corner, a k a.
- 18:13Speaker 1: The odds maker on Twitter, probably the most brilliant person
- 18:16Speaker 1: working at the Action Network, created a line for the
- 18:20Speaker 1: game after watching a bunch of games, and he set
- 18:22Speaker 1: it at seven and a half with the Kady Warriors.
- 18:25Speaker 1: The Kady Warriors of the six games we played, won
- 18:28Speaker 1: by an average of eighteen and a half points. Okay,
- 18:31Speaker 1: I mean that's video game world. Video games don't take
- 18:35Speaker 1: into account like the actual change in style of that
- 18:39Speaker 1: team without Kevin Durant. Of course they do, no, Chad,
- 18:44Speaker 1: it doesn't. It doesn't do that. That's not how fucking
- 18:46Speaker 1: video game works. Why are you getting so because seven
- 18:50Speaker 1: and a half? Listen, I love Shawn Corner and he's
- 18:52Speaker 1: he's great at what he does. But you cannot tell me.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I know most of these Warriors games happened past your bedtime,
- 18:59Speaker 1: but you have seen some of them. I've watched the
- 19:01Speaker 1: first half of all. You can't tell me that this
- 19:04Speaker 1: team doesn't look more comfortable, more engaged, and more fluid
- 19:10Speaker 1: without Kevin Durant. Listen, the ball does not stop. I
- 19:14Speaker 1: don't like it does when he's there. I don't deny
- 19:16Speaker 1: any of that. I don't deny a single thing that
- 19:19Speaker 1: you just said. All I'm saying is that the video
- 19:23Speaker 1: game takes you to account piece of play, takes into
- 19:26Speaker 1: account style of play, and in this scenario that k
- 19:30Speaker 1: D Warriors were better by seven and a half. So
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm asking you, do you think this team is better
- 19:34Speaker 1: with or without Kevin Durant, this team with I will
- 19:39Speaker 1: disagree with you. I think that Steph Curry, I've had
- 19:43Speaker 1: this conversation with Rob Perez. Steph Curry is has to
- 19:47Speaker 1: be the most unselfish superstar in the last He's amazing
- 19:51Speaker 1: the fact that he has voluntarily taken a back seat
- 19:56Speaker 1: to bring Kevin Durant in. And now that Durant's out,
- 20:00Speaker 1: we all kind of sit back and say, oh, ship,
- 20:02Speaker 1: Steph is really good. Like, look at what he's doing
- 20:06Speaker 1: thirty plus every night, and he was not having a
- 20:10Speaker 1: good playoffs before this, like up that first series and
- 20:13Speaker 1: a half steph Curry was not playing well. Durant goes down,
- 20:16Speaker 1: he steps right up. Draymond Green. Draymond Green, that dude
- 20:21Speaker 1: has played out of his mind. Contract here, it's not
- 20:25Speaker 1: a contract here. It's not Katie and Clay are free agents.
- 20:31Speaker 1: One more when it's Draymond next year. Man, he's banking
- 20:35Speaker 1: in right now. Draymond Green has played outstanding. I think
- 20:38Speaker 1: this team's style is more suited to not having an
- 20:41Speaker 1: ISO player. Yeah, that is clear, That's always been clear.
- 20:45Speaker 1: But it doesn't mean that a team is going to
- 20:47Speaker 1: be better without the greatest player in the world who
- 20:50Speaker 1: can do things that are so freakish that nobody can
- 20:53Speaker 1: stop him. Sore not. They lost four playoff games with
- 20:57Speaker 1: Durant and none without. You're never going to convince me
- 20:59Speaker 1: that this is a better team without Durant. I just
- 21:02Speaker 1: told you they lost four playoff games with him, none
- 21:04Speaker 1: without him. The ball can bounce, the ball can bounce.
- 21:08Speaker 1: They're like thirty two and one without Kevin Durant. It's
- 21:12Speaker 1: a better team with Kevin Durant. Disagree when Steve Curse
- 21:15Speaker 1: says to me, we're better without Kevin Durant. Steve Kurr
- 21:18Speaker 1: is not gonna say that when Steph Curry want to
- 21:20Speaker 1: resign it, we're better without Kevin Durant. Why would they
- 21:22Speaker 1: say that? Why would they say that? If if there's
- 21:24Speaker 1: if they know so much better without Kevin Durant, why
- 21:27Speaker 1: are they even gonna try to sign? Because Chad, it's
- 21:29Speaker 1: an issue of depth. You want as many great players
- 21:31Speaker 1: as you can have, so that should getting hard depth
- 21:34Speaker 1: without Kevin Durant. No, you do not, because their cap
- 21:37Speaker 1: situation the way it's structured, they can't replace Durant with
- 21:40Speaker 1: a guy of Durant's value. That's not the way the
- 21:44Speaker 1: NBA cap works. They're over. They will still be over
- 21:49Speaker 1: if Durant's gone because they're gonna have to give Clay
- 21:51Speaker 1: and Max Steel, So they can't replace Durant. Let's say
- 21:54Speaker 1: it's thirty million dollars with another thirty million dollars, they
- 21:57Speaker 1: don't have it. What do you set the adds at that?
- 21:59Speaker 1: Ken and Durrant's days in in Gold State. I think
- 22:03Speaker 1: it sounds like he's gone, but I don't get it. Man.
- 22:06Speaker 1: It's something that I will never understand. Like if you
- 22:09Speaker 1: look at it from forget basketball just as like a
- 22:12Speaker 1: life decision. You're living out in the Bay Area. You're
- 22:17Speaker 1: making as much money as you can make anywhere else, right,
- 22:20Speaker 1: there's no there's no more money you can make somewhere else.
- 22:23Speaker 1: It's the same money. You are working with the people
- 22:26Speaker 1: that are the absolute best in your field, and you're
- 22:32Speaker 1: succeeding at the highest possible level every single year. Why
- 22:36Speaker 1: would you give that all up to go and work
- 22:38Speaker 1: with lesser coworkers in a lesser environment and have less
- 22:44Speaker 1: success for the same money. Well, I don't know. Let
- 22:46Speaker 1: me think about this. Once upon a time, I ran
- 22:51Speaker 1: h editorial for ESPN Digital out of business. I had
- 22:57Speaker 1: a massive office with a best in class company and
- 23:01Speaker 1: about five hundred people that worked for me, and was
- 23:04Speaker 1: making like so much more walking right into so much
- 23:09Speaker 1: more than I'm making now to go work with yah
- 23:11Speaker 1: who's like you keep coming in and office space that
- 23:15Speaker 1: like you picked. By the way, it's falling apart every day.
- 23:18Speaker 1: People make those bad choices all the time. And let
- 23:20Speaker 1: me ask you, a year and a half in, would
- 23:23Speaker 1: you go back and do it again? Totally? No, you wouldn't,
- 23:26Speaker 1: Oh my god, I completely Would you regret that decision
- 23:29Speaker 1: every day? I regret. Regret When you get everything, I'll
- 23:35Speaker 1: regret it then, but until then, I'm not gonna regret it.
- 23:38Speaker 1: But seriously, why would you leave Golden State if you're durnt?
- 23:40Speaker 1: Like what why would you do that? Why do you
- 23:42Speaker 1: leave ESPN if your moment Well, because ESPN the magazine
- 23:45Speaker 1: was going out of business. I was in then. I
- 23:47Speaker 1: wasn't even running ESPN the magazine. I was running something
- 23:50Speaker 1: bigger who already ran that into the ground. So I
- 23:52Speaker 1: wanted to try to save it. I think I made
- 23:56Speaker 1: my point, right, You made a bad decision. So Kevin
- 23:59Speaker 1: Durance going make one. You make the decision, because sometimes
- 24:01Speaker 1: you want to go off and strike on your own.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Like he didn't get it done in Oklahoma City, he
- 24:06Speaker 1: got it done in Golden State. He seems to be
- 24:08Speaker 1: a very prideful person who takes snipes at people on
- 24:11Speaker 1: Instagram when they're sort of making comments about this. So like,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I think he wants to go out and prove that
- 24:17Speaker 1: he could do it himself. But let me ask you something.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Would you disagree that he seems soft personally. I'm not
- 24:22Speaker 1: talking on the court. I mean like he seems to
- 24:25Speaker 1: be bothered by like the noise and what people say
- 24:28Speaker 1: about him soft. I think he seems sensitive. Okay, then
- 24:31Speaker 1: is New York the place to go? Chad? This is
- 24:34Speaker 1: the place to go because I've heard people say he's
- 24:37Speaker 1: going to New York. That's what everyone is saying. Let
- 24:41Speaker 1: me ask you, is that the place for an athlete
- 24:43Speaker 1: like that? Definitely not. No, it's not go back to
- 24:47Speaker 1: Oklahoma City? All right? Well, we both agree we're gonna
- 24:50Speaker 1: be on Golden State regardless of whether or not Kevin
- 24:52Speaker 1: Durant place. Uh. Here's something I want to ask you
- 24:55Speaker 1: from your and it's gambling related from your show on
- 24:59Speaker 1: Serious Dale Learn how Jr. Was on the show and
- 25:02Speaker 1: he talked about how when he was driving some days
- 25:06Speaker 1: he would like check in with his you know, pit
- 25:09Speaker 1: manager or whatever pit crew on how his teams were
- 25:12Speaker 1: doing fantasy team's favorite teams. I have two thoughts on that. One,
- 25:19Speaker 1: knowing that, does it make you think differently about how
- 25:21Speaker 1: you want to bet on NASCAR drivers? And two do
- 25:26Speaker 1: you feel like it's cool that Dale Arnow was so
- 25:28Speaker 1: into fantasy that he's checking on his team while he's
- 25:31Speaker 1: driving a hundred eight miles an hour. Yeah? I mean
- 25:33Speaker 1: it blew my mind to hear the audio because we
- 25:36Speaker 1: had the audio on serious Um of him in the
- 25:39Speaker 1: car driving around the track and asking his pit crew
- 25:43Speaker 1: what's going on with the Redskins game, and they're like,
- 25:45Speaker 1: the Lions are up seven nothing. Stafford just threw a touchdown.
- 25:48Speaker 1: He's like, oh, man, you know, but who caught it?
- 25:50Speaker 1: You know? I don't. I don't know. I've got Golden
- 25:52Speaker 1: Tate on my fantasy team. And it's like, it's wild
- 25:54Speaker 1: to think that this dude is driving, like you said,
- 25:57Speaker 1: a hundred eighty miles an hour and he's just having
- 26:01Speaker 1: a normal back and forth conversation like we would driving
- 26:04Speaker 1: down the highway. How is it even possible, Like, if
- 26:06Speaker 1: you're driving a undred eighty miles, I feel like you
- 26:09Speaker 1: have to be full on concentrating the entire time. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: guess it just becomes second nature to him. I don't know,
- 26:16Speaker 1: but he was. I mean, we had the audio of
- 26:18Speaker 1: him talking about it, and it's like, that's what he's
- 26:20Speaker 1: asking about on a Sunday. He wants to know how
- 26:22Speaker 1: his Redskins are doing. Huge Redskins fan wildly knowledgeable about
- 26:26Speaker 1: the Redskins. UM makes me really think about betting NASCAR
- 26:30Speaker 1: because it's a little strange. We have a at the
- 26:34Speaker 1: Action Network. We have a huge we have a nice
- 26:37Speaker 1: partnership going with NASCAR. You should go check out nascar
- 26:40Speaker 1: dot com. Go check out our stuff on nascar dot com.
- 26:42Speaker 1: They have really cool contests going on, like free to
- 26:45Speaker 1: play contests that we're writing about. UM As an organization,
- 26:48Speaker 1: they're really smart about betting and really thinking forward about
- 26:50Speaker 1: how to engage the fans. And the NASCAR is great
- 26:52Speaker 1: about that because they give you a lot of access, right,
- 26:54Speaker 1: I mean, NASCAR gives the fans a lot of access.
- 26:57Speaker 1: It's a great sport. Like you can you can so
- 26:59Speaker 1: on the website, on the Serious channel and listen to
- 27:02Speaker 1: the in car audio, which is something you don't get
- 27:05Speaker 1: anywhere else. No, that's amazing. It's true. I'd slap you.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I didn't say shut up. I'm not rude. The thing
- 27:11Speaker 1: about NASCAR, the thing that's betting. That's cool about betting Nascar.
- 27:15Speaker 1: It's a little bit like getting betting golf, Like matchup
- 27:18Speaker 1: that's cool vaive like betting golf. Why do you keep
- 27:21Speaker 1: looking at your watch because I'm getting alerts their Action
- 27:24Speaker 1: Network alerts. Chat, I've got a bet on Cincinnati Milwaukee.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Oh nice, I'm covering right now. All right. Secondly, since
- 27:32Speaker 1: we're talking about the Reskins, I have two more things
- 27:34Speaker 1: I want to cover and then we gotta go. Uh
- 27:37Speaker 1: we just started, Yeah, but I gotta get back to
- 27:40Speaker 1: the office. UM. Number one, have you made any NFL
- 27:45Speaker 1: futures bets? I feel like we're gonna have to start
- 27:47Speaker 1: thinking about that for a show soon. I have not,
- 27:49Speaker 1: I have. It's too soon. No, it's not. It's it's
- 27:53Speaker 1: not too soon. To bet on the Colts. I bet
- 27:55Speaker 1: a bet eighteen to one. Now they're down to like
- 27:56Speaker 1: twelve to one. No, I know you don't you know
- 27:59Speaker 1: why Sharp? I don't hate the cults. I think the
- 28:02Speaker 1: cults have a really, really nice, nice shot. Um. I'm
- 28:08Speaker 1: delivering the Sharp Report as we speak. Network product feature. UM,
- 28:14Speaker 1: get it in the app? Did you just want to
- 28:16Speaker 1: come back on this podcast to make it an infomercial?
- 28:20Speaker 1: I've done less for the Action Network today than you've
- 28:22Speaker 1: done from NASCAR on this podcast. Um, I've been on
- 28:25Speaker 1: the Action Network radio show for two hours telling people
- 28:28Speaker 1: to go download your apps. I was at the office
- 28:31Speaker 1: before you were on the radio show. Seriously, doubt that, sweetheart.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Doing things that are bigger and better than anything you
- 28:37Speaker 1: can do on the radio. All right, well, then I
- 28:40Speaker 1: guess doesn't matter if I don't show up tomorrow. Second question,
- 28:44Speaker 1: have you made any MLV future bets during the season. Um,
- 28:49Speaker 1: I've got some bad future bets in baseball, let's hear
- 28:52Speaker 1: about it. I got the Mets to win the NL
- 28:54Speaker 1: you do not, and to win the World Series. Wow?
- 28:59Speaker 1: Did Luduca convince you? Oh no, he wants nothing. He
- 29:01Speaker 1: says the Mets are horrible. He wants no part of that. Um.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I talked to Alex Hyacinth in our office for far
- 29:08Speaker 1: too long and convinced myself that the Yankees are seventy
- 29:11Speaker 1: nine win team and the Mets are going to the
- 29:13Speaker 1: World Series. Um so yeah, I've got those Mets futures,
- 29:17Speaker 1: holding a Rockies future that one's not looking round. But
- 29:22Speaker 1: I do have a Cubs future. When they were picked
- 29:24Speaker 1: to finish last in the NNL Central, I was like, this,
- 29:27Speaker 1: Cubs are better than this twelve something like that. I
- 29:33Speaker 1: bought the Boston Red Sox at twelve to one when
- 29:37Speaker 1: they were sort of mired in a little bit of
- 29:39Speaker 1: a streak, and now they're coming out of it and
- 29:42Speaker 1: that price is going to go much lower, and I'm
- 29:45Speaker 1: feeling pretty good about it. Where does Dallas Kaickel sign?
- 29:49Speaker 1: That is a very good question. I don't know. Oh, look,
- 29:52Speaker 1: who the funk it is? This guy giggles, Thanks for coming, producer,
- 29:57Speaker 1: Giggles the Chuckler. Well, I guess we're out of time today.
- 30:03Speaker 1: I just asked you, where's Dallas Kaiko going? I don't know.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Give me a guest, Luduca. Who's he played for? Now? Nobody?
- 30:12Speaker 1: He's unsigned? Is a picture? Fucking done? This has been
- 30:21Speaker 1: the favorites from the Action network. Black jas just walking off?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Just what did you give me? He's just done? Who's
- 30:30Speaker 1: he played for? Is he a picture? You run a
- 30:38Speaker 1: sports media company? Maybe I did it Jesus to make
- 30:42Speaker 1: you angry. I might have your job at three months.
- 30:48Speaker 1: You're so on edge today? Are you kidding me? You
- 30:52Speaker 1: don't know who fucking Dallas Kike is. I know who
- 30:55Speaker 1: Dallas Kiko is. You don't know that he's an unsigned
- 30:58Speaker 1: free agent. I know all the is Blackjack, I know
- 31:01Speaker 1: everything apparently not. I also know that if like I
- 31:05Speaker 1: play as dumb as I possibly can, it's not hard
- 31:08Speaker 1: for you. It's good for it's good for the podcast.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Dallas Kickle should be a San Diego Padre. I think
- 31:17Speaker 1: that's probably the right choice. They could use some pitching
- 31:19Speaker 1: big park. He's a flyball pitcher. I mean, I think
- 31:21Speaker 1: the biggest mistake Machadow made was signing with the Padres.
- 31:26Speaker 1: I'm not gonna knock him three million dollars to live
- 31:28Speaker 1: in San Diego for ten years. Not great for your career,
- 31:32Speaker 1: great for personally. Do you think that Bryce Harper should
- 31:35Speaker 1: have signed somewhere with better weather? Is that your point? Um? No,
- 31:40Speaker 1: But it depends on what your goals are. I mean,
- 31:42Speaker 1: when Bryce Harper signed with the Tigers, I was shocked.
- 31:45Speaker 1: But I hate everyone in this room right now. Um listen.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Lifestyle is a factor. Okay, it's a factor. I don't know.
- 32:03Speaker 1: If I were Kaiko, i'd try to go to what
- 32:05Speaker 1: do you think and what do you think that'll do
- 32:06Speaker 1: to the Padres? Adds, I don't think he'll sign in
- 32:09Speaker 1: San Diego. I think he should, but I don't you will.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I think he's gonna be a New York Yankee, is
- 32:13Speaker 1: what I think. I think Jay HAPs gonna get smacked
- 32:16Speaker 1: around one or two more times, and then the Yankees
- 32:20Speaker 1: will bring him in on a one year deal after
- 32:22Speaker 1: the draft in the first week of June, because then
- 32:24Speaker 1: they won't owe the compensatory pick and Dallas Kiko has
- 32:28Speaker 1: always pitched very well in Yankee Stadium. Granted it's been
- 32:31Speaker 1: as a visitor, but he's always pitched really well there,
- 32:34Speaker 1: So I think the Yankees will wind up bringing him.
- 32:36Speaker 1: What do you think that will do to the Yankees? Ads? Yankees?
- 32:40Speaker 1: I will drop him a little bit um. But I
- 32:43Speaker 1: think this Yankees team is not the team we're going
- 32:45Speaker 1: to see going into the postseason because when Stanton and
- 32:48Speaker 1: Judge and Gregory is get back, they're gonna have some
- 32:51Speaker 1: tough decisions to make with some of these guys who
- 32:52Speaker 1: are playing really well right now. And I think they
- 32:55Speaker 1: wind up trading some of these guys for help in
- 32:57Speaker 1: their rotation. So Yankees will drop it, not by a lot,
- 33:01Speaker 1: all right. That is something for us to discuss next
- 33:04Speaker 1: time on the Action Network podcast. This has been the
- 33:08Speaker 1: Action Network podcast. That's not the name of it. No,
- 33:11Speaker 1: you're right? So true? Is this? Is there like a
- 33:16Speaker 1: fucking hidden camera in here? Is this for real? The
- 33:21Speaker 1: Action Network podcast? Do you know what happened? I was
- 33:26Speaker 1: checking an email while I started talking, and it said
- 33:28Speaker 1: Action Network, there and um, and then I just sort
- 33:31Speaker 1: of sentod this has been the favorites from the Action Network.
- 33:41Speaker 1: We're together again. I think I think I can tell
- 33:43Speaker 1: by the redness in your chiefs that you've really enjoyed it.
- 33:47Speaker 1: That that Fletcher, I am Chad Milman. Download the podcast
- 33:53Speaker 1: from Apple, podcast from radio dot com, slash, the Action Network,
- 33:57Speaker 1: or wherever you listen to your podcast. Until next time,
- 34:03Speaker 1: I love you.
