- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop so today To talk to you
- 0:31about the art of managing your state, a phrase that my children
- 0:35are not necessarily a fan of, but they learned it anyway.
- 0:39What does managing your state mean?
- 0:41Well, it means that many components make up our state.
- 0:44It's our words are emotions. If you will permeate from us, so
- 0:50the energy, we're putting off. It's how you're conducting
- 0:54yourself, physiologically. Are you moving, are you moving
- 0:58fast? Are you moving slow?
- 1:00Are you? You in an angry State, all of
- 1:03these different components kind of come up, how your tone is
- 1:07showing up out of your, when you're speaking?
- 1:10Are you listening? Or are you just like not
- 1:13listening at all? You're just like, I'm going to
- 1:15ignore this whole entire thing. Your state is everything about
- 1:19you. So we'll often say that, you
- 1:23know, the only thing that we can control is our self.
- 1:27That's it. We don't lose nothing else that
- 1:29we can control, but we can control.
- 1:30Ourselves. And that is one of the hardest
- 1:33things to do is to control yourself.
- 1:35But I like to refer to this as managing your state because it
- 1:39really is true. You are the manager here, nobody
- 1:42else can get in and do it for you.
- 1:45Even if you think people can, they're forcing you to do it.
- 1:47But eventually you are the one that surrenders or you are the
- 1:51one who fights back. So, State Management is the key
- 1:56to you, going out in the world and successfully navigating
- 1:59during the day. Day and not having other people,
- 2:02push your buttons. Because if you're managing your
- 2:04state, you should be able to go out and fulfill what you have
- 2:09intended to fulfill during the day.
- 2:11Now, a part of this, I refer to as sensory acuity.
- 2:15So, sensory acuity means I'm using all of my senses to bring
- 2:19information to me, not just one of my senses to bring
- 2:23information to me. And this is important because
- 2:25all of our senses are meant to be used like this.
- 2:27So you have to rely on not just. But you have to rely on your
- 2:32sound. You have to rely on the smell.
- 2:34You have to rely on touch feeling, you have to give
- 2:38yourself the scope of all of it. So like right now I can tell you
- 2:42there is a big amount of energy coming from the chicken coop as
- 2:45you can all here. And I could sit here and I could
- 2:48ignore it, but I'm going to use it as part of this because it
- 2:51just amped up, and it's all about State Management.
- 2:54This is all going on. Because again, someone is in a
- 2:58box and someone wants to get in that.
- 3:00Box to lay an egg. What's funny is?
- 3:02As you've heard me say before there are eight boxes.
- 3:06So one of my Spanish hens wants to get into a box and someone's
- 3:10in there. And now she's getting everybody.
- 3:12Riled up about the fact that that box is being used, others.
- 3:16Don't even want to use that box but she's causing, she's
- 3:19stirring the pot and she is not managing her own State.
- 3:23She's angry because someone's in that box and she's in the face
- 3:27and now, all of a sudden she's putting off that energy all
- 3:30these Responding. I'm not even in the cook,
- 3:33they're outside of it. And this is such a great
- 3:36metaphor and it just happened to fall into my lap, right?
- 3:38This moment because this is what people do, they get riled up
- 3:41about things that aren't even you know, concerning them in the
- 3:44moment. Why do these other chickens
- 3:47getting all riled up because of her energy and she's not
- 3:49managing her State. She could easily choose another
- 3:52blocks. All the other boxes are open
- 3:55except the one that she wants and she will not go to one of
- 3:58the other seven boxes. And so is that reasonable?
- 4:03Well, you know, and chicken world.
- 4:04This happens all the time but in human world we have to ask
- 4:08ourselves. Is this reasonable it?
- 4:10No, it's not. There's a very easy way around
- 4:12this. If she was managing her State,
- 4:14she could pick a different box but she's not managing her
- 4:17State. She's going to be in that other
- 4:19chickens face until that chicken decides to leave and then she
- 4:22can have the box, which it sounds like that's what's
- 4:25happening right now. She screamed interface until
- 4:27somebody else left and then she could get in that box.
- 4:30So, I notice when she quieted down everybody quieted down,
- 4:35it's fascinating, how this works, but energy is everything
- 4:38and it permeates nature in every single way.
- 4:41So, when we're talking about this managing your state, you
- 4:45have to look at this and say, okay, what am I bringing to the
- 4:49table for myself and am I using all of my senses to understand
- 4:54it? Not just my sound or my sight
- 4:58but all of them. Am I taking it all in?
- 5:00Am I using everything so that I can really have an Artful
- 5:04response to this as opposed to just flying off the handle,
- 5:10living, by whatever is going on around me and going from there.
- 5:13Because that's what's happened with the chickens, they just
- 5:16respond to whatever is going on around them.
- 5:18They have no clue. They have no clue why they got
- 5:20upset. They just know they got upset
- 5:22and then that, therefore, they have to squawk and be part of
- 5:24it, but for no reason and you don't want to be like that
- 5:27because that's not being Artful or thoughtful, all that's doing.
- 5:30Is living in response which we've talked about before as
- 5:33opposed, you know, I mean living in reaction, rather than
- 5:36response, it's just going off in a different direction.
- 5:40So what's important right now is to remember sensory acuity gives
- 5:45you the ability to add to this, okay?
- 5:48In multiple ways with all of your senses and managing your
- 5:52state means you are choosing and your thoughtfully coming up with
- 5:57how you want to show up and not just living in reaction.
- 6:01So hopefully this helps you today to some food for thought
- 6:05about yourself as you go off into the world and I will see
- 6:08you guys tomorrow. Have a blessed day.
- 6:10Bye.
