- 2:56Speaker 3: That theme song, I don't think I'll ever change.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I love it.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Our quality keeps coming up.
- 3:03Speaker 3: We haven't had a lot of technical difficulties but it kind of matches the quality.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It's starting to match the quality of what Kenny did for us as far as our Scotchy Bourbon Boys theme song.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It's catchy.
- 3:15Speaker 3: People love it.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Thank you so much, kenny, for that.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Check out Kenny Fuller on YouTube.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Thank you so much, kenny, for that.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Check out Kenny Fuller on YouTube.
- 3:22Speaker 3: He does some other musical things.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I think in the future, if all the stuff keeps going forward, kenny would be the person that I would definitely want to do some of our background music and some of our transition music, that type of thing.
- 3:42Speaker 3: And I've talked to him recently and he said he was very, very interested in doing something like that and hopefully, as we keep going down uh, we've got things all like planned out with roku.
- 3:55Speaker 3: We've got things.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Uh, right now.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Uh, right now, youtube is taking off.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Facebook is doing well Overall, I believe in a week we're getting up around 14,000-15,000 people seeing the Scotchy Bourbon Boys every week and that is a phenomenal thing.
- 4:19Speaker 3: We just keep trying to keep going forward, getting people getting the word out, talking about bourbon and whiskey, which we love to do.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Hopefully it keeps going.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I'm coming up.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Believe it or not.
- 4:34Speaker 3: September 21st I'll be 60, so the Big 6-0 is coming up.

- 4:44Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Roxy keeps that kind of stuff.

- 5:11Speaker 3: I've got the pecan soaking and everything.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Uh, you know, when you break, break your wrist, get your wisdom teeth removed and then end up with a stomach virus.
- 5:20Speaker 3: It's the first time in a while.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I felt pretty good last couple days.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Finally, the last weekend I was on the mend and, uh, now I'm starting to come back.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Overall, this was, uh, a wild summer.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I we didn't really miss a beat in a lot of ways, but you know uh able to come through, keep doing the podcast.
- 5:42Speaker 3: But you know, doing a podcast and not feeling good or in pain isn't the greatest.
- 5:47Speaker 3: But right now, with leading up the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, which is the 13th, 14th and 15th, uh, that is going to be exciting in uh, september, september in Kentucky for this great festival and I'm going to be healthy, knock on wood, if, god forbid, nothing else happens.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I don't have other stuff planned, but alright, so also remember, we're on all the social media.
- 6:17Speaker 3: We're on Facebook, instagram, youtube and X.

- 6:44Speaker 3: Whatever you listen to, you know deezer.
- 6:47Speaker 3: If you're a gamer, it's just we're there.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Um, one of the greatest things I think is listening to scotchy bourbon boys and playing a call of duty or playing a game online while you're sipping on a bourbon or a scotch and listening to the Scotchy Bourbon Boys.
- 7:07Speaker 3: So there you go what we got here tonight.
- 7:11Speaker 3: We got Bill Johnson watching.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Thank you, bill.
- 7:15Speaker 3: You've been a great fan lately.
- 7:17Speaker 3: It's been a while that you've been catching all the podcasts.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Thank you for joining us.
- 7:22Speaker 3: It's been a while that you've been catching all the podcasts.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Thank you for joining us.
- 7:26Speaker 3: And then also Jamie Jacobs, good to see you again tonight.
- 7:28Speaker 3: And then also Walker Leland is on tonight.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Leland Wright, we've got some of the core fans of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys listening.
- 7:47Speaker 3: So you know I'm excited about this podcast tonight.
- 7:48Speaker 3: You know, because we're going to be dealing with some limited and special editions and talking about these releases that happen.
- 7:53Speaker 3: The state of Ohio has been what would you say, a great proponent of these special editions and limited editions.
- 8:03Speaker 3: They've made some limited editions.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Well, we're not going to really try and cover single barrels, because single barrels, by nature, that's its own subject.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Because a single barrel you're just talking about one barrel of whiskey it's extremely limited.
- 8:20Speaker 3: But as far as collectibles, single barrels aren't always unless you're collecting them off of a festival.
- 8:28Speaker 3: You know, a barrel pick off of a festival so that you've got this barrel pick from this festival.
- 8:34Speaker 3: But as far as barrel picks go otherwise for the store picks or on the shelf or whatever those aren't as collectible as the special and limited edition batches, either small batches or sometimes they do a limited edition.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It's barrel proof but it'll be a batch.
- 8:59Speaker 3: So there's a lot of stuff that goes into it and there's a lot of things that we're going to talk about when it comes to the special editions and the limited editions.
- 9:11Speaker 3: So anyways, I did want to cover real quick beforehand the schedule of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys going forward.
- 9:19Speaker 3: We are going to be podcasting at New Riff August 23rd.
- 9:25Speaker 3: We are going down on August 24th to pick up the barrels from the Spirit of French Lick, that's the William Dalton second pick and then also the Lillian Sinclair brand introduction.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Alan has done a specific batch.
- 9:51Speaker 3: He had only a couple barrels and he dropped in French oak staves in our barrel, a French oak stave, and let it sit in there for about three months.
- 10:03Speaker 3: So this particular brand launch of Lully and Sinclair kind of was with the Scotchy Bourbon Boys in mind.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Alan has been promoting it and been a part of this from the start.
- 10:16Speaker 3: It's the last barrel pick that Alan did with anybody before he left the spirit of French Lick.
- 10:22Speaker 3: And then also now, once we're finished at French Lick on that Saturday, we're going to head to Glens Creek.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I want to say, not Glens Creek, what Becks Mill.
- 10:37Speaker 3: I think that's it, becks.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Mill I think that's it Beck's Mill, which is where he does mashing or distilling.
- 10:49Speaker 3: He sets up a small still and shows everybody what people you know.
- 10:53Speaker 3: He does a distilling demonstration there.
- 10:56Speaker 3: It is a working mill.
- 10:58Speaker 3: We're going to head over there with, uh, a lot of the bottles and if anybody comes down uh, he's willing to sign some of the bottles right there on site.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Uh, if you're in Indiana, let me know that day, but come on over, visit us, meet us at the front at spirit of French lick, or meet us at Beck's mill or meet us at old homesteadead, because after that that's where we're headed off to and we're going to spend the night there.
- 11:27Speaker 3: And then on Sunday we're going to be in the Kentucky area.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Hopefully I'm hoping that we're going to be at Heaven's Door at the distillery.
- 11:38Speaker 3: So we've got podcasts and things coming up in that.
- 11:42Speaker 3: That weekend of August 23rd, 24th and 25th, um, I'm probably going to be.
- 11:49Speaker 3: The following weekend I'm going to be going I believe it's September 30th and 31st, but I'm going to that Saturday and Sunday I'm going to um, head up to Wisconsin to have um, anybody who ordered it.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Uh, I will have a pickup point in Wisconsin on that weekend and then that following weekend, which is September 7th.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Uh, we are going to start.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Honestly, we're going to start our Kentuckyucky bourbon festival tour.
- 12:24Speaker 3: We'll be in kentucky from september 7th through september 15th.
- 12:29Speaker 3: So while we're down there, I'll give you a schedule.
- 12:31Speaker 3: We're gonna be at kentucky bourbon festival, um at on you know, through media and running around um capturing all the stuff.
- 12:39Speaker 3: For that.
- 12:40Speaker 3: We have have our September 11th bus tour.
- 12:45Speaker 3: That is what we're going to be doing.
- 12:47Speaker 3: We're going to be in the Bardstown area.
- 12:50Speaker 3: It's a bus tour.
- 12:51Speaker 3: The bus tour picks up at our Airbnb.
- 12:54Speaker 3: We head off to Bardstown Bourbon Company.
- 12:58Speaker 3: We're going to have a barrel thieving experience.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Then we're going to head to Limestone Branch and after that we're going to have, I believe, after the barrel experience, we're going to have lunch.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Then we're going to head to Limestone Branch and we are going to have a single barrel program.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Hopefully Stephen Fonte will be leading us with that, be leading us with that.
- 13:28Speaker 3: And then after that we head to Heaven Hill and we're having a connoisseur tasting of the whiskey there at Heaven Hill.
- 13:31Speaker 3: So I got to contact Sarah Evans to see when we're there for that connoisseur tasting.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Maybe she can get Connor to come out and maybe lead the tasting for the Scotchy Bourbon Boys or something like that, or when we're at Limestone Branch.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Hopefully Stephen Beeman, stephen Fonte lead up that, and then I've been talking a little bit to Greg Schneider to see what would happen and who could lead the thieving.
- 14:01Speaker 3: But the whole thing is going to be captured by Bo Cumberland.
- 14:04Speaker 3: He's going to be coming in taking in.
- 14:07Speaker 3: We are going to be doing a Roku TV show on this one.
- 14:11Speaker 3: We are going to get everything, all the information we possibly can, maybe two, three TV shows out of it, I don't know.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Well, I'm going to be talking to Bo real soon about how we're going to do the coverage, and I also have to talk to my other guy, randy, about what we're doing.
- 14:27Speaker 3: We can't wait.
- 14:28Speaker 3: We had Randy Pressey on last week about the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, our number one podcast ever, not even close Between YouTube and Facebook.
- 14:38Speaker 3: We're sitting at almost 9,000.
- 14:41Speaker 3: 9,000 people viewed the podcast.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Fantastic, this has been a great, great, great ride.
- 14:51Speaker 3: So then after that, the week, the first weekend in October is bourbon on the banks, so we are going to be there too.
- 14:59Speaker 3: That friday night we set up it's a saturday event and then, uh, sunday we'll be headed back, so check us out there.
- 15:07Speaker 3: That bourbon on the banks we are a part of.
- 15:09Speaker 3: You're going to see, we've got the tent, we've got some of the stuff all set up.
- 15:13Speaker 3: This is going to be a blast.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Can't wait.
- 15:16Speaker 3: It should be.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Uh, I can't wait to get down there this year for Bourbon on the Banks and we should be having a podcast with you know, with Diane Strong, renee True and Amzy winning.
- 15:31Speaker 3: I'm in the process of trying to set that up at the moment.
- 15:34Speaker 3: So there you go.
- 15:36Speaker 3: That's, that's what's going on with the Scotchy Bourbon Boys at this time.
- 15:39Speaker 3: And there's going to be an ohio, um, craft distillery weekend also.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Uh, I was, uh, and dimmick reminded me of that just recently, so we got to get that in between the bourbon festival and the bourbon on the banks.
- 15:54Speaker 3: So this is going to be one crazy coming up weekend or uh, months, these, these next couple months.
- 16:02Speaker 3: So, um, the scotchy bourbon boys um, you know there's advantages, no matter what and where.
- 16:12Speaker 3: I mean, there is one more ticket available for the bus tour.
- 16:16Speaker 3: So if anybody's interested on that september 11th and being on the all day, uh, ticket price on that was two, 75, I believe.
- 16:24Speaker 3: So if you want to, um, if anybody's interested, let me know because that ticket, if anybody found anybody, uh, we would love to have you go on it that that bus tour is going to be the craziest ever and the the pours on the bus are always fantastic.
- 17:29Speaker 3: We are going to be drinking a jim beam decanter from 1972.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I know that I've got a jw dant that I'm going to bring around and then also, uh, super nash is always going to outdo himself.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I know that he's been looking lately.
- 17:46Speaker 3: We'll see what happens on that bus tour, but I mean, mean, you can't miss out on it.
- 17:50Speaker 3: It's just fantastic and we, we take care of you.
- 17:56Speaker 3: There's lunch, the whole thing, three different distilleries and behind the scenes you know, experiences for each one, experiences for each one.
- 18:05Speaker 3: So it's a one day experience and you're on a bus and you can, you know, do whatever you gotta do.
- 18:13Speaker 3: You can just we all pace ourselves and, you know, keep it, hang in there.
- 18:22Speaker 3: But this is going to be fantastic.
- 18:23Speaker 3: So contact me if you got anybody who wants to come along Back to school.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Work in Weller 12, drop week here.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Yeah, weller 12 would be one of the special releases and that's what we're going to get into real quick.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Good to see you, john, um I, when I'm on my way up.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Uh, I think you have a bottle, uh that you picked up at one time from the distillery that I got to get from you.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Still, and I think this time when I'm going up I'll have time because I believe I'm going to be by myself bringing all that stuff up, bringing up the pick and everything.
- 18:52Speaker 3: So, all right, everybody, great to have you here.
- 19:02Speaker 3: The podcast tonight Feel free to jump in, like John just did, or anybody who's on YouTube Feel free to jump in too.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Let's see, Akush is on and he says hi, taylor Don's here and has done the video check for me and everything.
- 19:21Speaker 3: But anybody on YouTube or Facebook, make sure I'll say hi or we'll talk about it.
- 19:26Speaker 3: It's great that I can interact, but let's just talk about a limited edition or a special edition that happens out of the distilleries these days.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Now, there's different kinds and we're going to go through the different kinds.
- 19:41Speaker 3: So there's batches and the batches are limited to some extent, like let's just cover the few right away.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Bookers, it's a batch, it's it.
- 19:53Speaker 3: They do four to five a year, uh, each batch that comes out, but it's really, um, each one's different to in in in that sense of itself, but it's made out of the same mash bill and it's barrel strength, and each one is unique because they go through and batch out at barrel strength, dump the barrels and put it and then put out the batches.
- 20:20Speaker 3: They are numbered and named, very cool.
- 20:25Speaker 3: It's limited edition because they only make a certain amount, and the next time they make the bookers it's going to be different.
- 20:32Speaker 3: So that's collectible.
- 20:35Speaker 3: But as far as a limited edition or special edition, it's on the what would you say?
- 20:41Speaker 3: It's on the very obtainable.
- 20:45Speaker 3: You can get it, they make enough of it.
- 20:50Speaker 3: So bookers, though, is put into uh if you look behind me, everybody uh, but it's put into a wood.
- 21:00Speaker 3: On it, each box has a plastic front face, sliding, protective, clear plastic, you know, front face cover.
- 21:19Speaker 3: And then inside every single Booker's they tell, there's a little card that tells you exactly where the barrels were in the rickhouses, how old they were and how much of a percentage of these barrels they used in the batch.
- 21:37Speaker 3: So they're very specific in the batch.
- 21:40Speaker 3: These are batch limited editions.
- 21:42Speaker 3: The Booker's comes out every year.
- 21:47Speaker 3: The Booker's comes out every year.
- 21:49Speaker 3: And then there's also Elijah Craig does a barrel strength three times a year.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Abc batches A21, a0, a, a, a, 20.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Oh, so the month it'll go A, let's just say 121, meaning that it was a the january of 21, 19, 20 or 2021, not 1921.
- 22:19Speaker 3: And then, uh, b will be 521 and then c will be I believe it's 921.
- 22:27Speaker 3: When those come a 9 to 9, like, yeah, so when you're getting these different batches as they come out, um, once again their barrel strength and their their numbered every single uh time they come out they're barrel proof and it's their batch for the year of that time of the year, so that you can monitor the batches.
- 22:49Speaker 3: And once again they're limited to each run, but once again they're obtainable.
- 22:55Speaker 3: They're also in a price range $69 to $99 a piece.
- 23:14Speaker 3: That is something that is, I would say, for bourbon, when you're coming to the limited editions or special editions, reasonably priced, because those are the batches that are coming out multiple times a year consistently.
- 23:23Speaker 3: The amount that they put out, per you know of bottles, is a reasonable amount that most people, if you try hard enough, you can obtain each batch.
- 23:34Speaker 3: It's not a hard thing.
- 23:36Speaker 3: You got to maybe wait in line when it gets released or, if you miss it there, you go to the distillery, and the distillery releases those all the time.
- 23:50Speaker 3: That's the kind of limited editions that I find.
- 23:52Speaker 3: That's to me.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Those are reasonable.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I know that.
- 23:58Speaker 3: What's the other?
- 23:59Speaker 3: Now there are some editions that come out yearly and these are the ones that so many people obtain, and I'll talk about a couple right now.
- 24:12Speaker 3: One of my favorite is Russell's 13.
- 24:15Speaker 3: This is a barrel proof.
- 24:18Speaker 3: It's 13 years old and it's wild turkey.
- 24:21Speaker 3: It's Russell's Reserve.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I absolutely love this release.
- 24:27Speaker 3: I do things to try and get it and I think that in this case, especially when it first came out I believe the first Russell's 13 was like $89.99, $90.
- 24:40Speaker 3: And it was now.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I believe the current is $159.99.
- 24:49Speaker 3: And the 15 year that just came out was kind of cool too.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Hussein is I can't read it or don't have access to translation, but howdy man is on YouTube but these yearly releases russell's 13, baker's 13, yellowstone um comes out with a special release right here.
- 25:19Speaker 3: It's yellowstone 101 it.
- 25:20Speaker 3: This one is a.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Every year it's a little different.
- 25:22Speaker 3: This one was in.
- 25:24Speaker 3: All right, I gotta grab the glasses right around the corner here.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I know they're there.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Nope, nope, nope they're not around the corner, they're in the front where they should be.
- 25:36Speaker 3: I'm digging where I was organized and didn't take advantage of it, but this is in the Tokai casks.
- 25:45Speaker 3: This was bourbon whiskey finished in Tokai casks.
- 25:48Speaker 3: And this was bourbon whiskey finished in Tokai casks.
- 25:49Speaker 2: And.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Tokachi.
- 25:52Speaker 3: I think it's a Tokachi cask, right, toki casks.
- 25:59Speaker 3: That's what it is.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Toki to toki cast anyways, t-o-k-a-j-i.
- 26:07Speaker 3: I've heard it a million times but you know I'm I'm tiny of the scotchy bourbon boys and I suck at that part of this.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Um, but this was the 2023 release from yellowstone.
- 26:18Speaker 3: It's an unlimited edition and um, you know these when they run between $129 and $169, they've been out for whatever.
- 26:28Speaker 3: They're great bottles too.
- 26:30Speaker 3: These are the special bottles.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Now, a lot of people.
- 26:36Speaker 3: It's collectible because of the fact that, in my opinion, this level type bourbon.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Also, there's the Weller release that comes out of the cypb.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Now there's weller um antique 107 and there's weller um special reserve that comes out all the time.
- 27:01Speaker 3: But the Weller brand also produces a Weller 12-year.
- 27:07Speaker 3: It also produces a single barrel and the CYPB.
- 27:14Speaker 3: These Wellers are produced.
- 27:18Speaker 3: I believe the 12-year comes out twice a year and the CYPB comes out once a year.
- 27:25Speaker 3: So they're limited releases and those are very reasonably priced.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Buffalo Trace reasonably prices all their releases but to get the release is a very difficult thing to do.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Even getting the Antique 107 across this country or their Special Reserve, it's not in all markets and a lot of people try and get it here in Ohio, it's in our.
- 27:53Speaker 3: So hi, brazil, hhs, good to see you.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Thanks for watching on YouTube.
- 28:01Speaker 3: We're still on, you know, saying hi to everybody.
- 28:05Speaker 3: But if anybody wants to talk about any specific special release, um, but the russell's 13, in my opinion, if I come across that bottle on a special release, I'm buying it.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Um, hopefully I don't.
- 28:21Speaker 3: I'm not going to pay secondary, but whatever it is at the distillery and the 15 russell's 15, I'm trying to find it Now I don't know.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Russell's 15 is two years.
- 28:31Speaker 3: That's the original Russell's, the same year that the original Russell 13 came out.
- 28:37Speaker 3: This will be the third year, I believe, for Russell's 13.
- 28:40Speaker 3: And two years ago the Russell's 13 was fantastic.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Last year it was really good, but not as fantastic, and then I haven't.
- 28:46Speaker 3: The Russell's 13 was fantastic.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Last year it was really good but not as fantastic, and then I haven't tasted Russell's 13 for this year.
- 28:49Speaker 3: I'm going to be looking for that bottle when we're in Kentucky in September.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Also, the 15, I will definitely be looking for.
- 29:00Speaker 3: But these releases now that we're talking about theussels 13, the bakers 13 you do get some of them released into the actual market.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Okay, that you can buy at the liquor store on a um allocated uh basis, where the distiller or the liquor, the liquor agency, will basically open up and have either bourbon raffles or bourbon lines, people who wait in line overnight, everything.
- 29:34Speaker 3: So there's ways to get these.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Now are these?
- 29:37Speaker 3: The one that I couldn't obtain would be Colonel Taylor barrel proof.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Eh Taylor barrel proof.
- 29:46Speaker 3: It took forever for me to get one.
- 29:48Speaker 3: I got one this year.
- 29:49Speaker 3: I had to wait in line overnight.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Not a lot of things I'll wait in line overnight for, but that was one because I had it in my hand six, seven times but I was always the one who missed out on it.
- 30:02Speaker 3: So this time I wanted to get it and I got it this year.
- 30:07Speaker 3: So these type releases that are a little bit lower priced, these limited editions, um, especially from buffalo trace, the eh taylor barrel proofs they're not over 100 bucks same thing with the bookers, not over 100 bucks.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Now we're gonna get into the higher, higher, higher end special editions, special releases, right, these now these are what I'm kind of talking about.
- 30:36Speaker 3: I really feel that Baker's 13.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Russell's 13.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Hello, rachel, oh, sorry, I just didn't hear you leave.
- 30:53Speaker 3: I didn't know.
- 30:54Speaker 3: You came back, kind of scared me.
- 30:57Speaker 3: So someone came in the house.
- 31:01Speaker 3: But you know, it's just like I'm down here in the basement making sure that nobody's going to rob rob me anyways.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Not that, that's, really even a thing.
- 31:12Speaker 3: But here we go.
- 31:13Speaker 3: So we're on the Russell's 13, these type of these type of whiskeys that you can get in line at your local or go to the distillery and get some of these uh different to the distillery and get some of these uh different releases at the distillery.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Um, I'm pretty much on board for anything between 159 169 that is where I sit.
- 31:43Speaker 3: So those are very expensive bottles, limited releases and I still feel the whiskey in the bottle is an upgrade from the whiskey in the bottle.
- 31:55Speaker 3: From a $20 to $40 to $60 bottle.
- 31:58Speaker 3: The whiskey is just better.
- 32:01Speaker 3: But is it if just, let's just say, is Booker's at $100 and Jim Beam Black or Single Barrel or whatever, and they sit in the $24 range?
- 32:19Speaker 3: So let's just say, is Booker's $75 more than you know those Jim Beam products?
- 32:28Speaker 3: And I will have to say I love Booker's, it's barrel strength and I really enjoy it.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Do I get $75 more worth of flavor and taste?
- 32:38Speaker 3: Probably not.
- 32:40Speaker 3: $75 more flavor and taste.
- 32:42Speaker 3: But do I get more flavor and taste?
- 32:44Speaker 3: Yes, flavor and taste.
- 32:53Speaker 3: But do I get more flavor and taste?
- 32:54Speaker 3: Yes, do I get more in packaging and knowledge and the whole presentation and display?
- 32:57Speaker 3: Um, that's kind of what you get on these particular bottles, you get a better.
- 33:03Speaker 3: It's overall the bourbon's better, don't get me wrong, but is it $75 better?
- 33:15Speaker 3: Ah, that's a tough one, you know.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Um, but for for the bourbon collectors and everybody in this bourbon, um, in our blind Russell, so we got Simfire.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Uh, training says the Baker seven tasted better than 13.
- 33:24Speaker 3: In our blind russell's 15 is better than the 10 or the 13 to him.
- 33:30Speaker 3: So that's really the unique sim.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Uh, what I, what I'll say to that is um, the baker 7 is a single barrel.
- 33:41Speaker 3: So the baker's 13 is a batch that's put together in the limited edition, but that baker's seven is a single barrel.
- 33:50Speaker 3: So if you get a really good, uh, single barrel bakers, uh and I love bakers and I haven't had many bad, but you get a really good one, it's going to compete with the 13th, but the 13 you're going to deal with a little bit more complexity and a little bit more of the wood oak aspect, being six years older, but you know that's.
- 34:14Speaker 3: You know, I actually got my one bottle signed by Baker, fredno and Freddy, fredno and Freddy, so it's signed by all three and I've got that one put up.
- 34:28Speaker 3: But I also have the Baker's 13 bottle that I have here that I have for drinking.
- 34:34Speaker 3: I wish I tasted Russell's 15.
- 34:36Speaker 3: I hope I get to, but I could believe you on the Russell's 15 being better than the 13, because that Russell's 15 is based off the batch that the first Russell's 13 it was.
- 34:48Speaker 3: It was 13 years old when they introduced Russell's 13, so they probably took some really good barrels that looked like they could go a little bit further from that 13, that original batch of 13, and took it two more years and I could see that happening.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Um, being a really I'm I really want to get a hold of the russells 15.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I I gotta get a hold of bruce or eddie or jimmy and have them.
- 35:16Speaker 3: You know, get, get them on the podcast to taste the 15.
- 35:19Speaker 3: That would be a blast.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Uh, going in, yeah, um, northern said he had his first Redwood Empire.
- 35:26Speaker 3: Really good, I haven't actually had Redwood Empire.
- 35:30Speaker 3: But getting back now to the, so you've got the batches, the, every quarter or every third of the year.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Those are your limited editions, reasonably priced for getting some better bourbon.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Then you got your yearly releases the russell's 13, the baker's 13, the yellowstone, um, special edition, limited edition that they put out right around the time of kentucky bourbon festival fantastic, but these are a little bit higher priced, I think.
- 36:09Speaker 3: In my opinion, we're dealing with some good, good, good, good-ass whiskey.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Now let's take it up to the next notch.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Jim Beam releases the Hardin's Creek, which they released a couple different versions One year.
- 36:27Speaker 3: They had, and Hardin's Creek is a got some cool packaging.
- 36:32Speaker 3: It's got the bottle in there.
- 36:35Speaker 3: It's got a little.
- 36:38Speaker 3: You take out, this is the Boston.
- 36:39Speaker 3: You got the leather strap.
- 36:41Speaker 3: You got the really, really, really.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Now, this is these are the limited editions that I'm talking about.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Uh, there's, they're on two or three different levels.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Okay, now this particular one.
- 36:56Speaker 3: You take it.
- 36:56Speaker 3: And this topper is this copper, brass, cop, a brass, uh, really kind of cool, heavy.
- 37:08Speaker 3: It's uh, this one is, uh, actually not cork, it's, it's got, it is the synthetic.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Um, it's got this little uh strap, a leather strap around with the little, with the little, uh, what would you say?
- 37:28Speaker 3: Coin and um, hardens creek you're dealing with 15 year, it depends.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Uh, the one when it was.
- 37:40Speaker 3: Now I'm going to get into this boston batch.
- 37:42Speaker 3: I'll quickly tell you what it is.
- 37:46Speaker 3: And this was this particular one was $159.99, kentucky straight bourbon whiskey 107, born US, kentucky.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Let me see, I'm going to put the cover on real quick because I'm going to look for the age statement on this.
- 38:15Speaker 3: No, it was 110 proof, 55% alcohol forced.
- 38:21Speaker 3: It was column, distilled and double distilled and double distilled.
- 38:29Speaker 3: United States of America, 55 DSP.
- 38:32Speaker 3: So the Boston batch, on this particular thing, is not telling me.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 38:42Speaker 3: Are we looking at 01 age evaluation?
- 38:46Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Are we looking at 01?
- 38:48Speaker 3: Age evaluation 129.
- 38:58Speaker 3: All right, I'm trying, I'm going to pull out the real quick.
- 39:02Speaker 3: Hey, let's see.
- 39:05Speaker 3: All right, thank you, walker.
- 39:07Speaker 3: I was going to ask you the question but I didn't.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I should, I'm just an idiot.
- 39:10Speaker 3: 17 year, so this is a 17 year old bourbon.
- 39:13Speaker 3: So one of the things about these limited editions.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Okay, so you're talking 17 years, so this has to sit in a barrel 17 years for 17 years.
- 39:25Speaker 3: In a barrel, 17 years for 17 years, uh, the barrels have to make.
- 39:31Speaker 3: They have to make sure those barrels are cared for if they're leaking.
- 39:33Speaker 3: They have to do certain things.
- 39:34Speaker 3: They have to be tasted throughout to make sure that the quality barrel um, there's only certain barrels that match up along the way um, to be able to you know what would you say handle the 17 years bourbon's different than uh, when you're talking about uh, scotch, scotch, basically, uh, scotches, what would you say?
- 39:58Speaker 3: They scotches to me they're in used barrels, um, and they're in colder climate, aging, and when you're talking about a brand new charred oak barrel from in kentucky, you're talking about a massive amounts of flavor that go through and you got to basically be able to um what would you say, manage that stock so it doesn't become over aged and too oaky, too bitter, that type of thing.
- 40:29Speaker 3: So you're always we talked a little bit about with Fred Noe at Kentucky Bourbon Festival last year about over aging, but 17 years, so it's a skill.
- 40:39Speaker 3: To get it there it was, you had to wait 17 years, you had to pay taxes on it for a good amount of time and so it's just automatically going to be more money.
- 40:50Speaker 3: So it.
- 40:51Speaker 3: But then is all that worth?
- 40:55Speaker 3: What's in the glass?
- 40:56Speaker 3: And again, that's what we're talking about.
- 40:58Speaker 3: I find on these batches, especially like the boston at 110, it drinks with this giant bold flavor.
- 41:10Speaker 3: This has a little bit of a charred oaky flavor, but if you're into that type of bourbon, this definitely.
- 41:19Speaker 3: These batches are pretty darn cool.
- 41:24Speaker 3: Uh, now we go into one of our favorite greg schneider's.
- 41:30Speaker 3: This is chicken cock.
- 41:31Speaker 3: This is, um, the red stave.
- 41:36Speaker 3: These start to get up in price now.
- 41:41Speaker 3: One of the things chicken cock has done is brought back.
- 41:44Speaker 3: You know, on these special editions, they bring back these tins.
- 41:48Speaker 3: They're spectacular tins.
- 41:51Speaker 3: There's things.
- 41:52Speaker 3: This is a red stave, um, the red stave it comes with the story, uh, but these are, I believe.
- 42:02Speaker 3: I believe this one was, I want to say, $3.99.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Chicken cock was originally established in 18.
- 42:11Speaker 3: We go through all that Peter is produced.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Okay, shira.
- 42:20Speaker 3: So these were.
- 42:21Speaker 3: This was finished in petite shirah barrels.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Um, it's, you know, they finished it in a, you know, red state petite shirah barrel finish.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Uh, so what they did is took the whiskey, put it in there and then finished it off in these particular barrels.
- 42:45Speaker 3: These barrels that it's finished off are not cheap.
- 42:48Speaker 3: They are working on a Japanese oak, this one, where the barrel itself that they put the whiskey in is $5,000.
- 42:59Speaker 3: So you've got classic, great design.
- 43:04Speaker 3: Look at that bottle.
- 43:05Speaker 3: That is chicken coop wire.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Right there you got the chicken cock label.
- 43:10Speaker 3: That's the 2023 red stave.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Um, you know, special finish.
- 43:16Speaker 3: So this whiskey here is, uh, purchased.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Um, it's not always going to be greg schneider's bit.
- 43:25Speaker 3: They're going to start using the distillate.
- 43:26Speaker 3: We're right at the five year, six year mark for the stuff that he's been distilling and they're doing single barrel releases, they're doing batches with it.
- 43:39Speaker 3: It's just fantastic whiskey.
- 43:41Speaker 3: So the finishing is going to start to happen.
- 43:44Speaker 3: But this here is stuff that was purchased, that Greg Schneider found with.
- 43:52Speaker 3: You know how to finish it.
- 43:54Speaker 3: He is in charge of making sure it doesn't get overdone.
- 43:57Speaker 3: He loves to do this type stuff with whiskey.
- 44:00Speaker 3: And then you get this great packaging and everything and then you have it at four or or $500 a bottle.
- 44:09Speaker 3: For this particular, the tins that are made match the tins that Chicken Cock was in the 1910s 1920s, when it was popular initial.
- 44:22Speaker 3: They're very close to the tins of the original uh, chicken cock whiskey.
- 44:26Speaker 3: So very cool all around.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Um, I think on these, uh, you have to be a serious whiskey collector to be getting these bottles.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Um, these bottles are, quite frankly, very unique whiskey that are in the bottles.
- 44:45Speaker 3: You, this is uh an elite type thing on these special releases, but it's very difficult.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Uh, there's so many out there that you've gotta um, what would you say?
- 45:00Speaker 3: I'm gonna have a little bit of the red stave too.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Um, you've gotta uh, 100 you have.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that was noisy.
- 45:13Speaker 3: There we go.
- 45:15Speaker 3: It went in.
- 45:16Speaker 3: You have to um have a little bit of money to keep uh purchasing it.
- 45:23Speaker 3: There's probably, um, in my opinion, maybe a batch or two where this would uh be something that you would want to.
- 45:34Speaker 3: What was that?
- 45:35Speaker 3: That was interesting.
- 45:37Speaker 3: I'm trying to think what that, what, what?
- 45:42Speaker 3: Wait, it makes no sense.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Okay, I'll just be quiet.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Nothing fell off and broke, I think.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Oh, that was the.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Hardin's.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Creek and then the Red Stave Fantastic whiskeys from both ends.
- 46:25Speaker 3: The Red Stave deals with a little bit of like, more deserty.
- 46:30Speaker 3: It's like a chocolate, some caramel, where the where you're dealing with more of a campfire vanilla with, uh uh, the hardens creek, um wait, excuse me, the Shiraz, yep, american grape equivalent to Shiraz.
- 46:50Speaker 3: Um, the newest will be the Miserana.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Yes, we talked about the Miserana, the Japanese Oaks, um once again what's the price going to be Now?
- 47:01Speaker 3: this is what I wanted to say.
- 47:02Speaker 3: I think if you have the money this is just my opinion Every expression is solid for Redwood.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Okay, thanks, Thanks, man.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Just that was from Sim talking to Northman and Walker's been all last year 17, except Jacob's Well, and this year's latest corn whiskey that I haven't had yet.
- 47:29Speaker 3: I can't wait, we'll see.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Hopefully I'm going to pick up some of that when I'm at the festival.
- 47:35Speaker 3: So I wanted to get into another aspect.
- 47:40Speaker 3: Ed Bly has been on and he did this pot still.
- 47:42Speaker 3: Ed Bly has been on and he did this pot still, and this particular one.
- 47:49Speaker 3: This is the Rising Tide, old Stubborn, great presentation once again.
- 47:56Speaker 3: You're still talking about $225 for about a Jacob's Will 184th month's age.
- 48:09Speaker 3: I have not opened my Hardin's Creek now.
- 48:11Speaker 3: Now, sim, is that from the Hardin's Creek?
- 48:16Speaker 3: Is that from this year, 184 month?
- 48:20Speaker 3: I don't even know what's 184 divided by 12.
- 48:24Speaker 3: 12 goes into 18.
- 48:27Speaker 3: So then that I don't even know what's 184 divided by 12.
- 48:29Speaker 3: 12 goes into 18.
- 48:30Speaker 3: One.
- 48:30Speaker 3: So then that leaves you with 65.
- 48:33Speaker 3: So it's a 15 year.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Right around the 15 year, I think I've got that one also, I pretty much have to open my bottles, especially when it comes to stuff like this.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Because old, stubborn uh ed came on.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Uh, we tasted it, it was a weed.
- 48:50Speaker 3: He went very specific now learned a lot about this this particular bottle for me, 15 and a third.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a weeded bourbon.
- 49:01Speaker 3: It is, um, from west, it is from West Virginia, pottsdale, I believe, 12 and 13-year-old, or 11 and 12-year-old, maybe 14 and 15-year-old, let me see, I will make sure, because 13-year-old, 10-, 11 and 13-year-old Pottsdale whiskey Got to do some blending right here on the podcast with Ed and this particular bottle.
- 49:29Speaker 3: And then he came out with his second release.
- 49:31Speaker 3: This is his first release 123 proof 225.
- 49:37Speaker 3: But where this limited edition happens is the limited amount of whiskey that there was available.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Is the limited amount of whiskey that there was available, how much it cost to purchase this off the market?
- 49:52Speaker 3: Now, this was purchased at a time when, right now, aged whiskey is at a premium and he was able to get this particular, these barrels, and he's done two batches aed and also a standard rye bourbon.
- 50:08Speaker 3: Uh, so this is a special edition that we're talking about now.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Um, here we go, I'm gonna taste that one.
- 50:23Speaker 3: All these, all these special additions that I'm drinking right now is high proof, barrel strength, special additions.
- 50:38Speaker 3: The whiskey is fantastic.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Um, it's three times better Then the regular, your regular barrel strength.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Um, as far as bookers goes, I really enjoyed bookers, but it's a step up on complexity, um, when you're getting into that $159 to $225 price range.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Now, the last thing that I want to talk about is the really expensive.
- 51:16Speaker 3: I believe Mictors puts out one called Centennial I want to say Millennium, and then I know that, well, let's just make sure.
- 51:28Speaker 3: So, walker, so Weller put out out, tell me what it is the centennial or is it the millennial bottle?
- 51:37Speaker 3: Well, the millennium bottle, and what did um, which one sent, sure, so what does mictors have?
- 51:45Speaker 3: They're, they're very expensive bottle and I want to talk about them, but I get them mixed up.
- 51:51Speaker 3: So I'm looking for you, walker, to help me out here.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Um, just waiting, I'll wait a sec.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Um, thanks everybody for watching on YouTube.
- 52:01Speaker 3: That's been great so far tonight, a good, good amount of people.
- 52:03Speaker 3: That's Weller millennium, and then, uh, thank you, john also.
- 52:09Speaker 3: And then it's you, john also, and then it's Michter's, not 25 years, they actually have.
- 52:27Speaker 3: It's called, I believe, the Centennial batch, which was about, if I'm not mistaken, a $2,700 bottle but we're getting, and the Michter's 25 old I think is a twenty five hundred dollar bottle, if I know, I think it might have been hey Terry sipping from some sipping some barrel finish gin tonight.
- 52:47Speaker 3: Oh, that's rough on me because that's the gin, is something.
- 52:53Speaker 3: That gin is my, that gin is my to me what vodka is to Fred Minnick.
- 52:58Speaker 3: So I'm not going to dispute anything.
- 52:59Speaker 3: My son loves gin so I help him out there a lot of times and he actually makes me try gins and I'm just it's rough on me.
- 53:09Speaker 3: Even Kelly from Whiskey Thief has this gin in a bourbon barrel that she made and gin lovers think it's fantastic.
- 53:21Speaker 3: But it's just not my cup of tea for gin.
- 53:23Speaker 3: But Terry cheers man, everybody's got their own thing, that's for sure.
- 53:29Speaker 3: But the Michter's 25, these are the $1,000 bottles.
- 53:35Speaker 3: Drinking a pine cone, yeah, or any number of other herbs that are added into, there's no doubt about it, just not what I.
- 53:44Speaker 3: I'm not into it.
- 53:46Speaker 3: I want you know.
- 53:48Speaker 3: I now have to admit that putting it in a bourbon barrel helped it out because it absorbed a decent amount of bourbon in there.
- 53:56Speaker 3: So I was able to drink that one that Kelly did there at Whiskey Thief.
- 54:03Speaker 3: Hopefully at one point I'll get a bottle, but these really expensive ones, going back to the Weller Millennium.
- 54:14Speaker 3: That was out the door $8,300.
- 54:19Speaker 3: A $7,500 bottle with $800 in taxes.
- 54:24Speaker 3: Now that bottle was from turn of the century, the beginning of the millennium whiskey that they've been aging Now.
- 54:35Speaker 3: I haven't had a chance to try it An $8,500 bottle.
- 54:41Speaker 3: The only way I'm trying it is if someone else bought it, opened it and let me sample it.
- 54:46Speaker 3: I don't even think I'm in for $450 a pour.
- 54:55Speaker 3: It's just.
- 54:58Speaker 3: In my opinion, when we get into those special bottles they're rare as hell.
- 55:02Speaker 3: No-transcript.
- 55:15Speaker 3: It was a Founders Siri from Rabbit Hole called Race King, and isn't it like $1,500 a pour?
- 55:27Speaker 3: You're saying, john, no, at $8,000, I think there's a total of 25.
- 55:35Speaker 3: No, I'm talking about one-ounce pours and there's a total of 25.
- 55:38Speaker 3: So if you divide 8,000 by 25, I think 25 times 400 comes out to 8,000, right?
- 55:47Speaker 3: Yeah, 25 times 400 times 5 is 2,000, and you've got to do that four times 400.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Yeah so, anyways, 25 times 400.
- 56:11Speaker 3: Someone do the math for me here?
- 56:14Speaker 3: Anyways, so we're looking at these high, high-end bottles and, realistically, they exist.
- 56:25Speaker 3: And the reason why they exist is because people that have money want to spend their money on something exist is because people that have money want to spend their money on something.
- 56:30Speaker 3: But that doesn't mean the whiskey in the bottle is that good.
- 56:35Speaker 3: I mean there's Double Double Oak, which was a $3,500 bottle.
- 56:39Speaker 3: Not in for that either, now $3,500.
- 56:43Speaker 3: I'm not in for $2,500.
- 56:45Speaker 3: Now it would be nice to have a pour of these to know what they.
- 56:50Speaker 3: It's all good, still expensive.
- 56:51Speaker 3: Yeah, john says it.
- 56:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree, it's kind of like can you spend?
- 56:58Speaker 3: You know, the Founders Collection of the Race King is a spectacular bourbon, great topper, the whole thing, the box At $3.30,.
- 57:13Speaker 3: I had saved up to buy bourbon, so I had the money and just like this year, if I have the money saved up to spend it on bourbon, I can decide how much I want to spend on this bourbon or that bourbon, or how many bottles of this I want to get and how many bottles of that.
- 57:31Speaker 3: So there's a lot of stuff that goes into what we do.
- 57:35Speaker 3: As far as purchasing, now it's just like those special editions that is $8,500 or $8,475 better than Jim Beam.
- 57:58Speaker 3: There's not, it's even Jim Beam regular.
- 58:00Speaker 3: But I think that when you're getting in, the most that I'm in for is right around that $330, but that's the highest.
- 58:09Speaker 3: I might buy one of those bottles every 5, 10 years, but when you're dealing with the 159, the 169, and these special releases, those bottles are, you know, if you have one that you super like and you love it and you can obtain it, it's like it's something to do.
- 58:26Speaker 3: That's what the special releases are.
- 58:28Speaker 3: So let's just review before we get going.
- 58:31Speaker 3: um, limited editions, uh, ennis hello um, from, uh, the scotchy bourbon boys.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Thanks for watching.
- 58:39Speaker 3: The limited editions, the special editions, um, what are they?
- 58:45Speaker 3: Okay, their special releases, either released throughout the country at a limited amount in, in, in batches, and then once they're there they're gone, or they're once a year releases, with very allocated releases to the country and also sold directly from the distillery.
- 59:08Speaker 3: Now, those there.
- 59:10Speaker 3: There's one last one.
- 59:11Speaker 3: It's Blood Oath.
- 59:12Speaker 3: And well, blood Oath and Little Book, those are once a year releases.
- 59:17Speaker 3: These are releases of whiskeys that are made up of different type whiskeys.
- 59:21Speaker 3: For instance, little Book can use.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Some years they come out with bourbons and ryes and some years a rye.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Some year there's a bourbon, some year there's canadian whiskey in there.
- 59:31Speaker 3: Um, the blenders, these are blends made by either uh, freddie, no, or um, oh, my god, I can't believe.
- 59:42Speaker 3: Um lux row.
- 59:43Speaker 3: His name is uh, john.
- 59:47Speaker 3: Um, all right, everybody.
- 59:50Speaker 3: Uh, come on.
- 59:52Speaker 3: Oh, john, all right, everybody, come on.
- 59:55Speaker 3: Walker, the Luxro Master Distiller Completely drew a blank, but you can help me out on that one.
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: We're finishing up here.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: But also he's responsible for Blood Oath, and Blood Oath is purchased barrels and whiskey that the master distiller from Lux Roque goes around.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: He mixes some of his, some of other people's.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: He puts it all together and he makes Blood Oath and releases it once a year.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Again, we're talking about in the high 160s, 170s, whatever these are once a year and it's really kind of a really cool thing.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: So you want these limited editions and special editions.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: I do believe the majority of them that are really worth it.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Maybe finding out how you can taste those really expensive ones.
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: Maybe finding out how you can taste those really expensive ones, because you know the really expensive ones.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: You know, when you're talking about Pappy Van Winkle 15 and 20 and 23, those are really.
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: I believe the Pappy Van Winkle 23 is $299.99.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: I think that the $199.99 is the $20, but then you're dealing with like $159.49 for the 15 year.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: All those Van Winkle's.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: If you can get them on regular price they're all worth it Fantastic bourbon, but it's all that secondary price that you have to pay otherwise.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: So there's, you know I want to real quick.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: Maker's Mark produces a bunch of private select type batches creamy pumpkin pie.
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Here for the state of Ohio there is Parker.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: Heritage comes out once a year, I believe is released by the Heaven Hill Distillery and those batches are $159, $169.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: You know there's the Heaven Hill 17,.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: 18 year Now those get up, but we're still in the hundreds.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: John, Rempe.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Yep, that was it.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: Google says yeah, thank you.
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: Walker John does a really good job with Blood Oath.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: These releases, in my my opinion, those that everybody goes after if you can get them at msrp well, worth it well, well worth it.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: So, um, you know, I want to say that you know overall that the special editions and the limited editions, if they're in that $100 to $200 price range or anything below that, they're worth it, especially if you have one you specifically like, if it's your brand and it's an upgrade on your brand.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: But if you're talking about beyond that, you're talking into a little bit higher.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Now you really have to know the whiskey's good before you're going to spend the money.
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: And it's, yeah, cellar Aged now from Maker's Mark, is $1.58 out the door.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: I mean, it's Cellar Aged, is something unique, it's from, you know, it's from Maker's Mark, something that they don't do a lot of, and it's, you know, that type of whiskey.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: In my opinion, that $1.58 price is worth it.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: Now, when I first got into this, I thought my first bottle of Booker's at $80, $79.99 was high and I was spending a lot of money on this.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: But you know, as you keep going into collecting and everything what you allot yourself yearly, you know, as you keep going into collecting and everything what you allot yourself yearly, you know you kind of back off on some of the $20, $25 bourbons.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: Save up a little bit and buy the $150 ones, because each one is 750 milliliters and you know if you're collecting you can't drink it all.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: There's no way, collecting you can't drink it all.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: There's not.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: There's no way I'm drinking this.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Whether it's a 20 bottle or 159 bottle, they're all pretty much the same fill level.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: So, anyways, I hope that this helps you out everybody.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: As far as, um, what you pick up, um, as far as those special releases and those limited releases and what's worth it, you know some of them you've got to wait in line to get.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: Some of them are really highly unobtainable.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: You want to go out and spend $129.99 or $149.99, but you weren't there fast enough and so you don't get to do it.
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: So, a lot of times, when they do present themselves for those MSRPs and it's a nice bottle you'll drop the cash.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: So that's just my opinion.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: Like I said, I don't believe there's a bourbon.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: You know, $8,500 bourbon.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: The packaging on that millennial or that millennium bottle was unfreaking, believable.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: It was so big.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: It opened up, it lit up, it presented itself.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: The bottle's amazing.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: It's got a package with the story and everything.
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Fantastic, marketing for packaging, great for anybody to put up, but it's $8,500.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: My first car I bought was a Chrysler Horizon and I paid $5,600, so someone is buying a bottle of bourbon for more than I paid for my first brand new car concept perspective.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: If you have the, you know.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: But it's like if you don't got the money, you don't need to be spending eighty five hundred dollars on nothing except groceries and your car payment and your house payment.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: It's kind of how that works.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: That really gets into.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: You know that type of thing.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: So, anyways, I want to thank John Ritt, I want to thank Walker, jamie, bill for watching.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: I want to thank Tater, dom, simfire, anis, also Northman great having you guys HHS, hussain Akush for watching tonight.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: So, anyways, I'm going to finish this up right now.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Keep out, this is just going to be the regular podcast, if people from Facebook and YouTube want me to stay on.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's for most average.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: John says eighty five hundred dollars is several months of mortgage payments.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: I mean, it's just crazy.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: You've got to have some extra cash saved up for that if you're going to spend $8,500 on a bottle.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: But they make them because there are people who can spend $8,500 on a bottle and the state of Ohio on the last go-round they proved that they had those bottles available and people did buy them.
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: So there's people out there to buy them.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: So that's really kind of cool.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: All right, everybody.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: All I want to say is thanks for coming on tonight.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Great podcast.
