- 0:42Speaker 5: Ram in nouncer.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Oh wow, so anger the Riot. But the kids. I
- 0:51Speaker 4: don't think I've ever actively booed at a sporting event.
- 0:53Speaker 4: But man, they are playing for jobs in the NFL.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Don't don't bring logic to the audience, So why would
- 0:59Speaker 4: the Chargers do that? Well details, I.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Don't want to say it because we're mixed company.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Look at the courage that they have to do that,
- 1:07Speaker 4: you know, testicular forty two.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Somebody actually had the nerve to say they weren't a
- 1:12Speaker 1: tailor stof fans that takes that.
- 1:14Speaker 5: Takes I'll say it right now.
- 1:17Speaker 6: What there you go.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, I'm sorry.
- 1:22Speaker 5: It's the greatest head coach of all time. I'm not
- 1:24Speaker 5: just gonna fire him for one bad season. Okay, what
- 1:26Speaker 5: are you gonna go get some offensive coordinator who's never
- 1:28Speaker 5: won a game in their life. No, thank you, I'm
- 1:29Speaker 5: gonna stick with Bill Belichick. There's so much parody in
- 1:32Speaker 5: the league this year. We're so closed, Eldritt. We're gonna
- 1:34Speaker 5: take them one more year, seventy one years old, seventy two,
- 1:37Speaker 5: let's go.
- 1:41Speaker 2: This is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 1:50Speaker 1: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It's Wednesday here at
- 1:53Speaker 1: Jillette Stadium, getting ready for the Kansas City Chiefs. But
- 1:57Speaker 1: there's a lot of things we need to talk about
- 2:00Speaker 1: out these reports and quotes. I don't know, but we'll
- 2:06Speaker 1: discuss everything that's circulating around the New England Patriots today.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But we'll start with the Chiefs game coming up. I
- 2:13Speaker 1: think the Chiefs look vulnerable. You know what question is,
- 2:16Speaker 1: how do they bounce back? It's Deuce, it's Alex, Hi Alex,
- 2:21Speaker 1: it's Evan, it's Paul myself, it's Matt and the Booth.
- 2:24Speaker 1: We're here for two hours to talk Patriots as we
- 2:26Speaker 1: always do Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday here on the Patriots Radio Network.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Is that what we call it? Man? Oh?
- 2:33Speaker 5: Sure, yeah, that sounds good.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I was thinking that today. You know, this isn't aside,
- 2:37Speaker 1: but I you know, I have a long commute. You know,
- 2:40Speaker 1: you spend about an hour in the car in the morning,
- 2:42Speaker 1: so you know it's important to me to have good
- 2:45Speaker 1: radio content. There's not enough of it. I was thinking, man,
- 2:50Speaker 1: we should just start our own radio station and just
- 2:53Speaker 1: do it better than everybody else, you know, not just Patriots,
- 2:56Speaker 1: but like everything, like.
- 2:57Speaker 5: A morning show with Evan from like five AM today.
- 3:00Speaker 1: No, no disrespect Evan, but no wow wow.
- 3:05Speaker 5: I was taking a shot that Evan struggles to get
- 3:07Speaker 5: here in the morning, so you know, five am for
- 3:09Speaker 5: him would be.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I'm a I'm gonna two to six or six to ten,
- 3:14Speaker 4: like for sure.
- 3:15Speaker 5: We're like Bill Belichick will break down film with you. Evan.
- 3:17Speaker 5: It's five thirty am, though, and you'd be like, not good.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Can we can we start a little early?
- 3:22Speaker 4: Can I break it down with the next head coach
- 3:23Speaker 4: of the Patriots?
- 3:25Speaker 1: Oh? Wow?
- 3:26Speaker 4: You know something Tom, Now, so do we actually like
- 3:32Speaker 4: hear Tom Curry.
- 3:33Speaker 1: I heard it.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I watched it, okay, because he hasn't said anything since
- 3:37Speaker 4: it's got aggregated, and.
- 3:39Speaker 5: I just didn't write it. Why didn't he write it?
- 3:41Speaker 5: He should have wrote it.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I watched it.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I already talked to Fred about this, and I
- 3:46Speaker 4: agree with that Tom.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Tom's very good, you know, and yeah, when he speaks,
- 3:50Speaker 1: he speaks you know, definitively from a knowledge. But it
- 3:54Speaker 1: didn't seem to me he was filing a report on
- 3:57Speaker 1: NFL and NBC Sports Boston. It was like conversations he's
- 4:02Speaker 1: had and his best guess, so we got doffed and
- 4:04Speaker 1: like something that he feels probably true. But like you said, dude,
- 4:09Speaker 1: if you've got to report that, you write it. You
- 4:12Speaker 1: write it. You don't as you know, as a one
- 4:15Speaker 1: of a panelist on you know, the whatever they call
- 4:18Speaker 1: that show. You don't say it there and mean to
- 4:22Speaker 1: have it as a report, right, you.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Know, and you would say it's stronger than you know,
- 4:26Speaker 4: not based on you would report.
- 4:28Speaker 1: This is what sources are telling me that they made
- 4:31Speaker 1: a decision and that's it.
- 4:33Speaker 4: That's why I brought it up because he kind of
- 4:35Speaker 4: got doped right, like a little bit, and then all
- 4:38Speaker 4: of a sudden, it's everywhere. And I listened back to
- 4:40Speaker 4: because it's on their clip is on YouTube. You can
- 4:43Speaker 4: find it, and it's like what Paul is saying, he
- 4:45Speaker 4: says it, but it's not. I don't think that that
- 4:48Speaker 4: was meant to be like a you know, like you
- 4:50Speaker 4: said file to NBC Sports Boston Bill and he.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Also ended it with saying, you know, now, could he
- 4:55Speaker 1: win four games at the end, and with that quell it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I don't think so. But why do you even mention that?
- 5:00Speaker 5: Now?
- 5:00Speaker 1: You know what's gonna happen, right.
- 5:03Speaker 4: So, I mean, I do think this part of that
- 5:05Speaker 4: is like the times that we're in, you know, everybody
- 5:09Speaker 4: starved for information and you take it a little bit, uh,
- 5:14Speaker 4: you know, and the aggregation stuff, to me, it's kind of.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Right, well, he's kind of the gatekeeper for this stuff,
- 5:19Speaker 5: and now it's it's caught on like wildfire because he
- 5:22Speaker 5: chose to highlight it.
- 5:22Speaker 8: You know.
- 5:23Speaker 9: That's why you have to be so tight with what
- 5:24Speaker 9: you're saying and kind of think ten steps in advance
- 5:27Speaker 9: because all season someone's gonna get.
- 5:30Speaker 4: And and that's like.
- 5:33Speaker 5: It's happened.
- 5:34Speaker 4: He's become a verb, but it's and he's he's just
- 5:38Speaker 4: one and I don't even know which ones of those
- 5:40Speaker 4: guys are actually real people. But the aggregation that that happens,
- 5:45Speaker 4: and it all comes with like a banner report or
- 5:49Speaker 4: you know, breaking news, and when you're you know, and
- 5:52Speaker 4: it's happened to me too, like when you but when
- 5:55Speaker 4: you're on a show and you're just talking and you're
- 5:57Speaker 4: saying things that you think might happen. Like a couple
- 5:59Speaker 4: of weeks go when they asked me if I you know,
- 6:02Speaker 4: where do you think Belichick will be next year? If
- 6:04Speaker 4: if he if he moves on And I said, well,
- 6:08Speaker 4: you know, I don't have any information on this, but
- 6:10Speaker 4: I just think Dallas would make a lot of sense
- 6:13Speaker 4: because of the obvious reasons, and that became a report. Yeah,
- 6:17Speaker 4: I'm reporting that he's going to Dallas. I'm like, I
- 6:19Speaker 4: did no such thing, right, And I don't feel like
- 6:23Speaker 4: it's not necessarily the problem of people trying to be
- 6:26Speaker 4: because there are there is that, right, guys trying to
- 6:29Speaker 4: make a name for themselves. And I'm a big tough guy.
- 6:31Speaker 4: I'm going to go out and you know, throw hot takes,
- 6:34Speaker 4: all over the place. I don't think that's the problem.
- 6:36Speaker 4: The problem is people can't really understand when someone's talking
- 6:40Speaker 4: and giving you an opinion or you know, sort of
- 6:43Speaker 4: it's like media literacy. Yeah, someone not that hard.
- 6:46Speaker 9: Having used to be an aggregation monkey. I used to
- 6:50Speaker 9: call my old job like magragation monkey.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Did you leave the contest when you did that too?
- 6:55Speaker 10: No?
- 6:56Speaker 5: She just flunk poop it at the wall and it
- 6:59Speaker 5: was no.
- 7:00Speaker 9: But you're literally trained, SEO how to write a headline
- 7:04Speaker 9: that's going to get clicked on. I've been told like, hey,
- 7:07Speaker 9: if you can spark a little outrage or controversy in
- 7:10Speaker 9: the headline.
- 7:10Speaker 3: You do it because that's what gets you clicks. That's
- 7:13Speaker 3: how CEO worked.
- 7:14Speaker 9: If everyone understood, like had that media literacy, if everyone
- 7:18Speaker 9: understood how those like media outlets literally pay the bills
- 7:24Speaker 9: through clicks, you can break it down and you can
- 7:26Speaker 9: take everything with a grain of sault. But unfortunately, that's
- 7:29Speaker 9: just not how our media landscape is today.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And you know, we used to wait for the morning paper.
- 7:33Speaker 1: There's no waiting anymore. You know, it's I want my
- 7:36Speaker 1: news right now. And you know, is it nesson that
- 7:39Speaker 1: you used to do? Yeah, Nesson was notorious for those
- 7:42Speaker 1: those headlines, and it's like, if you.
- 7:44Speaker 9: Can take Tommy Curran's host soliloquy and break that into
- 7:47Speaker 9: three different stories.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Great, well that was like Evan, you said that that
- 7:51Speaker 5: they wanted you to write like fifty.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Pieces, and I have to be on show average eight
- 7:55Speaker 3: to ten stories of show.
- 7:56Speaker 4: I could count on one hand the amount of times
- 7:57Speaker 4: I've clicked on a Nesson link. Yeah, in ten years.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I don't do it just for that reason.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Well, you understand even today it's this is a lot
- 8:07Speaker 1: more mild. But I don't know if it was Karen
- 8:11Speaker 1: or somebody was talking about Peoli why he should Poli
- 8:15Speaker 1: was talking about why Ernie Adams should be in the
- 8:17Speaker 1: Patriots Hall of Fame, and I'm like, oh, this is interesting.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I you know, I might get a lot of, you know,
- 8:22Speaker 1: really cool stuff from the headline. Wow, I'm gonna get
- 8:25Speaker 1: some inside stuff of what Ernie really did hear. I
- 8:28Speaker 1: mean it might have been three paragraphs at the most
- 8:31Speaker 1: the story, and I learned nothing. You know, clicked, but
- 8:35Speaker 1: I clicked.
- 8:36Speaker 4: But you also know more than most people. That's true.
- 8:40Speaker 4: That's why you didn't know.
- 8:41Speaker 11: True.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I don't know like every and I feel I still
- 8:44Speaker 1: don't know everything that Ernie Adams did.
- 8:46Speaker 4: After reading that, you know.
- 8:48Speaker 12: But on the I think the bigger thing too is
- 8:50Speaker 12: like with people like like Dove and you know all
- 8:53Speaker 12: these other like x spots that I call them that
- 8:56Speaker 12: are on Twitter, Like.
- 8:58Speaker 4: It's two things.
- 8:58Speaker 12: One people, it's the dopamine rush of getting likes and
- 9:02Speaker 12: getting retweets from from the things you tweet out. And too,
- 9:06Speaker 12: Twitter is now monetizing these accounts, like through Twitter Premium.
- 9:12Speaker 12: So people that are running these accounts that are getting
- 9:15Speaker 12: these like tens of thousands of impressions off these tweets,
- 9:19Speaker 12: now all of a sudden, they're making money off of it.
- 9:21Speaker 12: On top of that, So a lot of these people
- 9:23Speaker 12: that are you know, they're all over the place like
- 9:26Speaker 12: mL Football and all these other like aggregators.
- 9:29Speaker 3: That's not how they're paying the bills.
- 9:30Speaker 4: TPC they're they're getting not only are they probably sitting
- 9:35Speaker 4: at home like, oh, I got like ten thousand likes
- 9:37Speaker 4: on this tweet, but they're also getting literally paid to
- 9:41Speaker 4: make it to draw attention to themselves.
- 9:43Speaker 5: And the oversight for them. They just do what they do,
- 9:45Speaker 5: whatever you can do to get the clicks out.
- 9:47Speaker 4: So you get the bold like Paul was saying, you know,
- 9:50Speaker 4: breaking news like so and so says that Bill Belichick's
- 9:53Speaker 4: done after the year, and then that tweet blows up
- 9:55Speaker 4: and now all of a sudden, they're they're happy.
- 9:58Speaker 5: That's why I'm just kind of waiting for me maybe
- 10:00Speaker 5: just some Tommy current clarification, because it did seem a
- 10:03Speaker 5: little bit weird to me, Like I instantly went and
- 10:04Speaker 5: tried to find like, well, he must have wrote it
- 10:06Speaker 5: like this, you know, I was looking for him to
- 10:08Speaker 5: write something. But now now I'm kind of I guess
- 10:11Speaker 5: I'm more on the fence now. But originally, like driving
- 10:12Speaker 5: in this morning, I was like, what's the response from
- 10:15Speaker 5: the other side going to be There's going to be
- 10:16Speaker 5: some kind of you know, not necessarily old Bill's got
- 10:18Speaker 5: a two year contract or something like that, but there's
- 10:20Speaker 5: going to be some kind of pushback from the other
- 10:22Speaker 5: side of why that might not.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I did wonder if Tom would maybe walk it back
- 10:25Speaker 4: a little bit, because he's got a couple of spots
- 10:28Speaker 4: on EI that he does well.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I you know, I along the same lines. You know,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I was watching the listening to the broadcast at Pittsburgh
- 10:36Speaker 1: and al Michaels was on there and I think late
- 10:38Speaker 1: third quarter or something, there was that time where he said, Okay,
- 10:41Speaker 1: we're going to address the situation. Yeah, Belichick, it's a
- 10:44Speaker 1: good piece. And the thing he said to me that
- 10:47Speaker 1: he said two things to me that really stuck out. One,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you know, according to him, it's definitive that the contract
- 10:54Speaker 1: is up after next year.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Yep.
- 10:56Speaker 1: The second thing he said, I think there's a point
- 10:59Speaker 1: two percent chance that he'll be fired.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Where are you getting that from?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Like, why do you think that? Like I I thought
- 11:06Speaker 1: that was interesting, like two percent?
- 11:08Speaker 4: What about the TV part? I thought that was interesting.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:12Speaker 4: But like he just throw he just throws out maybe
- 11:15Speaker 4: he could maybe he'll coach, do do this, maybe he'll
- 11:17Speaker 4: do that, maybe he'll do TV. You know, he has
- 11:19Speaker 4: an Emmy, like out of nowhere, Like is that common
- 11:22Speaker 4: knowledge that when he was on that NFL hundred thing
- 11:25Speaker 4: that he earned an Emmy?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Right? Well, Deuce knows because.
- 11:28Speaker 4: Well he probably was on the committee that but that's
- 11:31Speaker 4: the academy.
- 11:32Speaker 8: You know.
- 11:32Speaker 1: He said, could he be fired? You know there's a
- 11:35Speaker 1: point two percent chance of that happening.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Well, that's because of the compensation. I would think whether
- 11:41Speaker 4: it's compensation for us. Yeah, I don't know whether it's compensation.
- 11:46Speaker 4: He's not gonna get fired because then they have to
- 11:48Speaker 4: pay him the full the full amount and be then
- 11:50Speaker 4: they don't get anything.
- 11:51Speaker 1: All these other things he listed he said, were you know,
- 11:56Speaker 1: could happen, But the firing he said, very little chance
- 11:59Speaker 1: of that happened, like twenty two.
- 12:01Speaker 4: But isn't it that just because of the logistics of firing.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Here just the semantics mutual parting?
- 12:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that, Like, but I think the semantics
- 12:10Speaker 4: is what what's what he's hanging on if they call
- 12:13Speaker 4: it a mutual party of the ways he's fired, but
- 12:16Speaker 4: but they're not gonna it's not gonna say Belichick was fired.
- 12:19Speaker 4: I think that's what I kind of agree with.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Maybe that's what he's talking about, But then it is,
- 12:24Speaker 1: you know, semantics, because either way, he's no longer coaching
- 12:28Speaker 1: at the Patriots and he's being paid until someone else
- 12:31Speaker 1: hires him.
- 12:32Speaker 8: You know.
- 12:33Speaker 12: I just think that when you look at the team,
- 12:36Speaker 12: the record isn't even the whole story. It's it's just
- 12:39Speaker 12: not an entertaining brand of football, And at some point
- 12:42Speaker 12: I think that that that does matter. Like even I
- 12:46Speaker 12: know everybody always says like winning is entertaining, Winning super
- 12:50Speaker 12: Bowls is entertaining. But even last they won eight games
- 12:53Speaker 12: last year, that wasn't entertaining. They were a slog last
- 12:57Speaker 12: year too. And at some point you have to be
- 13:00Speaker 12: in an exciting product on the field for your fans,
- 13:04Speaker 12: and right now, the Patriots just aren't an exciting product
- 13:06Speaker 12: outside of twenty three minutes against Pittsburgh.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Right, A lot of players to put butts and seats.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want to go on and on about
- 13:14Speaker 1: this situation, but you know, but it was interesting trending
- 13:18Speaker 1: this morning, and it was interesting, like you said, the
- 13:20Speaker 1: reaction to what Tom had said.
- 13:22Speaker 4: And by the way he said it on Monday, Yeah,
- 13:25Speaker 4: it's old.
- 13:25Speaker 5: Well that's how the dog, that's how it works.
- 13:28Speaker 4: All he's not using until we put it on Twitter,
- 13:31Speaker 4: like right that I think that the fact that he
- 13:34Speaker 4: just said it on Monday night on a show, one
- 13:37Speaker 4: of his shows, it kind of speaks to the to
- 13:42Speaker 4: the fact that it's not that big a deal, right,
- 13:43Speaker 4: it had to be dug up and you know, you know,
- 13:45Speaker 4: and like we we were talking about in the aftermath
- 13:49Speaker 4: of you know, while while we were still in German,
- 13:51Speaker 4: you guys were still in Germany. Mike and I had
- 13:52Speaker 4: already come back. There were reports about the important of you.
- 13:56Speaker 4: I think Ben Bollen wrote about, you know how this
- 13:58Speaker 4: Germany game could be really put So it's not even
- 14:01Speaker 4: like really new, like it it's been going on for weeks.
- 14:06Speaker 1: No, we were given really really good access in Germany,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and we filmed Robert addressing the team on Saturday during
- 14:14Speaker 1: the walkthrough at the stadium, and he said, this game
- 14:16Speaker 1: is really important, you know, to the organization. So I
- 14:21Speaker 1: can understand where current I would think this, and I
- 14:25Speaker 1: could understand if he talked to a couple of people
- 14:27Speaker 1: here and they kind of said that, But hey, who
- 14:31Speaker 1: did he talk to when it's.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Not a report, Well, it's just such a it's such
- 14:34Speaker 5: an indirect line. It's it's it's Tommy Kurran on the
- 14:36Speaker 5: TV show on Monday night. Then it goes to, you know,
- 14:39Speaker 5: an aggregator. And now we get to Bill's press conference
- 14:42Speaker 5: today and we have the Boston Herald asking Bill Belichick
- 14:45Speaker 5: about it, you know, and it's just it's just that.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Any of the newsplaces send the news guy.
- 14:52Speaker 12: Maybe maybe the maybe the Jets game, like you know,
- 14:54Speaker 12: this might be the last press conference, so I'll get
- 14:57Speaker 12: out Paul.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And I always love that when like there it's a
- 15:00Speaker 1: story that goes you know, the grid Iron, you know,
- 15:05Speaker 1: Channel five would say, well, we can't just send us sports,
- 15:08Speaker 1: we have to send the friend.
- 15:10Speaker 4: And I was sitting in the back and we put
- 15:11Speaker 4: on notebooks. Let's let's learn journalists.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'll get him to answer, and he would just shut
- 15:17Speaker 1: them down.
- 15:18Speaker 12: Like I actually like overheard somebody. I don't even know
- 15:22Speaker 12: who it was, but I think it was Antonio Brown
- 15:25Speaker 12: thing and the person was like I covered the president
- 15:27Speaker 12: and he and I he won't even answer my questions.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Or something like that.
- 15:33Speaker 4: And I was like, then go back to the white
- 15:36Speaker 4: do that.
- 15:36Speaker 9: They try to do that coming to community events a
- 15:39Speaker 9: lot this season, and it's so annoying because it's a
- 15:41Speaker 9: reporter you've never seen before that's pulling up their chance,
- 15:44Speaker 9: like this is their chance that they're going to get
- 15:46Speaker 9: this big story about the Patriots. And just every time
- 15:49Speaker 9: I get a look from Donna, our cr ringleader, and
- 15:53Speaker 9: I'm just like, Hi, yeah, just throwing a player named David. David,
- 15:57Speaker 9: Let's let's bring it back to our community event now,
- 15:59Speaker 9: Like really, you know, you.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Get this feeling like, you know, the reporter and his
- 16:04Speaker 1: or her editor, Like, when you go down there, he'll
- 16:07Speaker 1: have to answer you. He'll see you.
- 16:09Speaker 4: I have to answer Bill, What would you say to
- 16:11Speaker 4: the fans.
- 16:12Speaker 1: It's just the opposite. He sees you and he's like,
- 16:17Speaker 1: you never come here. I'm not giving you anything.
- 16:19Speaker 8: You know.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Oh, it's such a joke, all right. H eight five
- 16:29Speaker 1: five pass five hundred is the a taken hotline web
- 16:31Speaker 1: radio at pages dot com. It's the email address anything
- 16:34Speaker 1: new coming out of Kansas City with you know, Wineingate.
- 16:38Speaker 4: I think they kind of apologized the next day. They Yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 4: I mean, I know, reed, did I think it kind
- 16:45Speaker 4: of went away? Yeah, but I mean I'm sure they're
- 16:47Speaker 4: still pissed.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yeah, well they should be pissed at themselves.
- 16:51Speaker 5: The clean here this week.
- 16:54Speaker 1: We talked about it yesterday. I think mahomes frustration was
- 16:57Speaker 1: and should be with his own team.
- 17:00Speaker 4: I'm surprised that Tony is still a member of the team,
- 17:02Speaker 4: to be honest with you. Oh right, not because not
- 17:05Speaker 4: because he went off side, because he.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Seems like well, i mean even going back to when
- 17:09Speaker 5: he was with the Giants, right, It's just that's he's
- 17:11Speaker 5: one of those high maintenance, disappointment players, disappointing first round
- 17:14Speaker 5: always something going on.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Yeah, well he was a Giants first round pick. No
- 17:18Speaker 4: I know, but he's like Bill Andy Reid's smart. You
- 17:22Speaker 4: take a depressed asset, had a good distressed assures, probably depressed.
- 17:28Speaker 4: He's probably both because he dropped, you know what I mean,
- 17:32Speaker 4: and you take you give him a shot at redemption.
- 17:35Speaker 4: He hasn't worked well. He he had a big super Bowl,
- 17:37Speaker 4: and I wonder if they're hanging on to him because
- 17:40Speaker 4: that one Sunday in the playoffs, he might just have
- 17:43Speaker 4: us a huge game and a fair point. That's good
- 17:47Speaker 4: enough for us sort of thing. I mean, he's really
- 17:49Speaker 4: talented player. He's obviously just a head case.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Yeah, but so nothing new out of casey, you know,
- 17:56Speaker 5: curious about who's going to be a practice both teams.
- 17:58Speaker 5: I mean that thing for me today just uh, did
- 18:00Speaker 5: they get Parker back? Did they get Douglas back? You know,
- 18:02Speaker 5: is Pacheco back for for Kansas City and for my
- 18:05Speaker 5: fantasy team and for your fantasy team? Tough, tough go
- 18:08Speaker 5: for you. This weekend I saw your team where you
- 18:10Speaker 5: what you crowdsourced your your fantasy choice, and then I did.
- 18:14Speaker 4: And then people were like, aren't you supposed to be
- 18:16Speaker 4: the football expert. It's like, I don't care about my
- 18:18Speaker 4: fantasy I.
- 18:21Speaker 5: With my followers.
- 18:22Speaker 4: That's all. Like I was just trying to engage people
- 18:24Speaker 4: on a Sunday where I'm not doing anything. Could be
- 18:27Speaker 4: a good thing for the Patriots of Pacheco is back,
- 18:29Speaker 4: because then they might run them and you're not going
- 18:31Speaker 4: to run the ball against the Patriots. Yeah, he had
- 18:35Speaker 4: a good year. He's a good player, but so hard
- 18:38Speaker 4: they're going to be They're not going to beat the
- 18:39Speaker 4: Patriots running Isaiah Pacheco.
- 18:41Speaker 5: No, there's a lot of good Twitter jokes out there
- 18:42Speaker 5: about him, just like how hard he runs. He just
- 18:44Speaker 5: looks so furious when he life, Like.
- 18:48Speaker 4: He's like he runs like he's angry at the ground. Yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 4: he kicks the ground when he runs. There's a lot
- 18:54Speaker 4: of good Twitter jokes about how the Patriots drafted Pierre
- 18:57Speaker 4: Strong and Kevin Harris instead of.
- 19:00Speaker 5: Especially where he seems like to me.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Kind of the Rutgers guy.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Well, a talented Ben Jarvis green ellis like, you know,
- 19:05Speaker 5: Ben Jarvis green Alis was just so famous for like
- 19:08Speaker 5: never losing yardage and always running hard no matter what
- 19:10Speaker 5: the situation was, but he's I mean, he's got real
- 19:12Speaker 5: like talent, breakaway speed. But he writes me a bit
- 19:15Speaker 5: of him.
- 19:15Speaker 12: He was they wanted a speedback because they drafted Peer Strong.
- 19:19Speaker 12: He was the other guy that ran the fastest forty
- 19:21Speaker 12: at the combine in that draft class, and he went
- 19:24Speaker 12: to Rutgers and they somehow missed him.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Maybe they were.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Bill was told no more.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Rutgers guys somehow missed them.
- 19:33Speaker 11: No more.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Oh boy, Okay, so what are we thinking? Taylor's no
- 19:41Speaker 1: no word whether or not she's going to be.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Actually, I don't know. Actually I don't know, Alex, I
- 19:45Speaker 5: think she is.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I would say with about.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Don't get doved.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I was chatty.
- 19:52Speaker 5: Can you imagine?
- 19:54Speaker 9: Yes, I was chatting with one of the player girlfriends
- 19:57Speaker 9: yesterday at an event and she told me, I'm not
- 19:59Speaker 9: going to names. She typically sits in the suite of
- 20:02Speaker 9: a certain season ticket member that we all know very well.
- 20:06Speaker 9: They cannot this weekend because Taylor Swift allegedly will be
- 20:10Speaker 9: using that suite.
- 20:11Speaker 3: You heard it here first.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Okay, that's that's gonna get So. I will say I
- 20:16Speaker 4: had someone tell me that she did originally request a
- 20:21Speaker 4: suite for the Monday night game and they hadn't heard anything.
- 20:25Speaker 4: The person that had said something to me hadn't heard
- 20:27Speaker 4: anything since the switch to Sunday at one, So it
- 20:32Speaker 4: would make sense that she's around. Isn't like birthday coming?
- 20:36Speaker 3: Her birthday was I think yesterday?
- 20:38Speaker 1: And how old?
- 20:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm a little upset about that. How old?
- 20:41Speaker 5: How old it's today?
- 20:42Speaker 4: Today? Thirty four?
- 20:45Speaker 5: We're getting up there, good mask, getting up there.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Clock is ticking.
- 20:51Speaker 3: A home in Rhode Island too.
- 20:53Speaker 4: So she's the same age ass which she bought because
- 20:56Speaker 4: of my boyfriend.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Right, Oh that house there was?
- 21:00Speaker 9: Is that the house across from the Kennedy compound in Hyena.
- 21:04Speaker 9: I thought she was dating Connor Kennedy and then Kennedy.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I thought the Rhode Island one was to get close
- 21:10Speaker 1: to the guy too.
- 21:11Speaker 4: I think that no Ther Island she's had for a
- 21:14Speaker 4: long time.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, but I thought it's beautiful.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Maybe actually some people that it's wicked nice there watch Hill.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Actually it's watch sorry, just.
- 21:24Speaker 4: A really nice beach. Yeah, I wouldn't. I wouldn't be
- 21:28Speaker 4: stunned if she's she's here.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Rhode Island is an underrated state for beaches, really good regions.
- 21:34Speaker 3: In Rhode that's in New England.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I would say that includes it's kind of a beach
- 21:40Speaker 4: called the ocean state.
- 21:42Speaker 1: That's true. Underrated, No, but like you know, people think.
- 21:47Speaker 5: The ocean.
- 21:47Speaker 1: They think like Cape Cod Jersey Shore. You don't hear Rhode.
- 21:50Speaker 5: Island, Jersey.
- 21:52Speaker 1: You never here.
- 21:52Speaker 5: I'm going down to Rhode Island to go to the beach,
- 21:54Speaker 5: right like for the weekend. You're like, what Nantasket? What's
- 21:56Speaker 5: that beach? Where's the task?
- 22:01Speaker 1: That's all okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's south.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Sure, that's a nice I would agree that in terms
- 22:05Speaker 4: of landlocked beaches, Rhode Island is very much up there.
- 22:10Speaker 4: But the I mean Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard have those
- 22:14Speaker 4: are the top.
- 22:15Speaker 5: I went to a beach.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yeah, why do you say that's the same part of
- 22:18Speaker 3: the ocean.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not just about that though, it's about like
- 22:21Speaker 4: in Martha's Vineyard is.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Now why beautiful? Can you can you swim? There is
- 22:26Speaker 1: the water?
- 22:28Speaker 4: But Disvered Island.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Too cold or sometimes there's like too many like.
- 22:35Speaker 5: We went there, we went.
- 22:38Speaker 3: You can surf in Rhode Island, but the water is
- 22:40Speaker 3: warm and Rhode Island he lives in.
- 22:41Speaker 5: The Cape.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Ocean. Sometimes we have to address Freddyism.
- 22:48Speaker 5: We went to we went to Martha's Vineyard and we
- 22:50Speaker 5: went to this beach where you had to like get
- 22:52Speaker 5: a day pass and then you park like a half
- 22:54Speaker 5: mile and then you walked out and I was like,
- 22:56Speaker 5: what is this? Where is this Martha's Vineyard? And it
- 22:58Speaker 5: was the most BEAUTIFU. I was like it was almost tropical.
- 23:01Speaker 5: I was like amazed, because.
- 23:03Speaker 4: I mean I grew, you know, even the ones that
- 23:04Speaker 4: aren't as like the state being like even ones that
- 23:07Speaker 4: like aren't considered like perfect are so nice.
- 23:10Speaker 5: The water was nice, no sharp things. I've never been
- 23:13Speaker 5: and everything.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I've only been on day trips to Nantucket. We've
- 23:17Speaker 4: never stayed. Never. I don't know.
- 23:18Speaker 5: I don't have that kind of I'm not that my sister.
- 23:20Speaker 5: My sister has a house on Nantucket now though shout
- 23:23Speaker 5: out Sarah.
- 23:23Speaker 9: I rendered a jeep ones that came with an over
- 23:26Speaker 9: sand permit so you could drive out like the tires.
- 23:28Speaker 3: A little drive out right onto the beach and the vineyards.
- 23:31Speaker 5: That's the way to do it.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yeah, Tim, our friend at Duncan says, the house that
- 23:35Speaker 1: Taylor owns is on Watch Hill.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what what is the what's the famous beach
- 23:42Speaker 4: in the vineyard for sunsets? So did you ever have
- 23:48Speaker 4: like the like dinner out there? Yeah, it's pretty cool
- 23:52Speaker 4: on the on the cliff right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 4: and they have everybody just comes out restaurant. Well you
- 23:57Speaker 4: don't even have to, like you can just bring everybody
- 24:00Speaker 4: just goes down at sunset and like you get a
- 24:02Speaker 4: bottle of wine or whatever.
- 24:03Speaker 5: You know, some similar lights maybe well for me, yeah,
- 24:09Speaker 5: and I tell will will go get me.
- 24:12Speaker 4: He also says this, like I didn't just propose there.
- 24:15Speaker 5: That's why I was. Was that where you proposed?
- 24:18Speaker 4: And no, I I proposed on lighthouse speech, which is
- 24:23Speaker 4: in a different part.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Is that on Nantucket? Okay, yeah, you've been to the lighthouse.
- 24:29Speaker 4: You've probably done in Nantucket, right, you have that kind
- 24:32Speaker 4: of mounting I.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Went to with my wife.
- 24:35Speaker 4: We asked to leave.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Her birthday. And I went to Martha's Vineyard once when
- 24:41Speaker 1: I was in high school.
- 24:42Speaker 4: And we were you you've only been to the islands
- 24:45Speaker 4: once each Yeah, wow, cape guy.
- 24:48Speaker 9: No, But that's the thing about the cape, is right,
- 24:51Speaker 9: Why would you why would you get on a boat has.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Been out in Churo for a really long time.
- 24:56Speaker 9: They have businesses out in Provincetown in turo So I've
- 24:58Speaker 9: gone there my entire life. Same thing with my step mom.
- 25:01Speaker 9: My stepmom still to this day, is in her fifties,
- 25:03Speaker 9: has never been to either island.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Yeah, well why would you no? But they are worth
- 25:08Speaker 4: going to see to appreciate the fact that your steplone
- 25:11Speaker 4: is my age.
- 25:12Speaker 1: But that's okay, all right, eight five to five Pats
- 25:15Speaker 1: five hundred. Since we don't have any other news to
- 25:18Speaker 1: put on the table, we might as well get to
- 25:20Speaker 1: our callers. We'll start with Alex in Austin, Texas. What's
- 25:24Speaker 1: up Alex?
- 25:26Speaker 4: Hey, guys, how we doing good?
- 25:30Speaker 10: So I really appreciate the show. You guys get me
- 25:32Speaker 10: through a lot of really long commutes at the podcast.
- 25:37Speaker 10: One note for Fred this was brought up on the
- 25:40Speaker 10: postgame show the Foo Fighters thing that Christopher Walking did
- 25:45Speaker 10: you gotta do let's go places like that. But the
- 25:50Speaker 10: one thing I wanted to bring up I was looking
- 25:52Speaker 10: at the twenty twenty four phoneus feeling pretty encouraged because
- 25:56Speaker 10: we've got potentially three Pacific Coast teams coming and uh
- 26:01Speaker 10: with the Rams, the Seahawks, and either the Chargers or
- 26:04Speaker 10: the Raiders. So Yes, everything's doom and gloom right now,
- 26:09Speaker 10: but I'm looking ahead. I'm optimistic. We have some players.
- 26:14Speaker 10: We're gonna get our guy gonna be good.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Okay, all right, thanks Alex for the ignorant in the group.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Why is that a good thing? Because they have to
- 26:24Speaker 4: have gone all the way here.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it's cold here sometimes.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Oh you should know the spot. It's a good spot,
- 26:29Speaker 4: I know. Can I see the spot before? I deemed
- 26:31Speaker 4: an advantage for one and the other The Patriots also
- 26:33Speaker 4: have to go to like San Francisco. Also, no, but
- 26:36Speaker 4: that's a bad spot if like, just for arguments sake,
- 26:39Speaker 4: the Rams are coming for a Sunday night football game here.
- 26:41Speaker 4: I don't think that's an advantage for the Patriots.
- 26:44Speaker 5: It's that fourth place schedule.
- 26:45Speaker 4: But at one o'clock, get that body clock, I can
- 26:49Speaker 4: get that.
- 26:50Speaker 5: You know, I don't know who. I don't know if
- 26:52Speaker 5: you've got Cornator quarterback, but we got them.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I don't know if you guys remember, but there was
- 26:56Speaker 4: a time when you could just pencil in a win
- 26:59Speaker 4: if the Chargers playing at one o'clock on the Sunday.
- 27:01Speaker 4: I remember those in Foxboro.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Fred told me, I remember those times. Right now to me.
- 27:07Speaker 1: The least thing I'm thinking about is what the schedules like.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, I just was curious as to like
- 27:12Speaker 4: the three West coasts like. Chances are he's looking for
- 27:16Speaker 4: at least one of those will be a prime time.
- 27:18Speaker 1: He's looking for a silver linings.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I am looking forward to go into San Francisco for
- 27:21Speaker 4: the first time, although the Patriots might not get a lot.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Not really San Francisco though, Well, the stadium and everything.
- 27:27Speaker 4: That's one that I haven't been to.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Overrated.
- 27:30Speaker 5: I went there. I was there in sixteen. I went
- 27:31Speaker 5: to that one.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know about like the clubs and everything,
- 27:34Speaker 1: but the stadium is only.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Anything in your rental car, like not even a penny.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Really, it will get broken into Santa Clara Stadium.
- 27:43Speaker 3: No, probably not there, but just in town.
- 27:45Speaker 5: If you're in downtown what do they call it, really
- 27:47Speaker 5: bad one like the Tenderloin or something. There's there's some
- 27:49Speaker 5: really bad part. I don't remember what it is, but anyway.
- 27:51Speaker 3: My family talk about San Francisco.
- 27:53Speaker 12: I just know I keep track of all the stadiums
- 27:55Speaker 12: that I've been lucky enough to go to, and that's
- 27:57Speaker 12: one that I haven't been to yet.
- 27:59Speaker 4: So I can check it off.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Been Seattle.
- 28:01Speaker 4: No, that's the other one. That's that's a gap. That's
- 28:03Speaker 4: a lot of the West Coast ones I have obviously
- 28:05Speaker 4: haven't been to for obvious reasons. But I've been to
- 28:08Speaker 4: I think twenty three or twenty four at this point,
- 28:11Speaker 4: so I'm getting close.
- 28:11Speaker 1: I think I've hit them all.
- 28:14Speaker 4: I'm sure you have. Yeah, I don't think anything is opened.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I have an Excel spreadsheet.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Actually, you got to like get one of those, like
- 28:22Speaker 3: you scratch.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Off the Yeah, I've probably been to somewhere around forty.
- 28:27Speaker 4: But there are ones that I have.
- 28:30Speaker 5: The newer one.
- 28:30Speaker 4: I haven't been to Santa Clara, that's one. I haven't
- 28:33Speaker 4: been to Jerry World, and I haven't been in Vegas.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Jerry Rold was, Jerry ard was lived up to the
- 28:38Speaker 1: High I think other than so far, Jerry World is
- 28:41Speaker 1: the best stadium so far.
- 28:42Speaker 4: I haven't been doing so this is There's a handful
- 28:44Speaker 4: of brand new ones that I haven't been there.
- 28:45Speaker 12: I'm checked off Mile High in a couple of weeks.
- 28:51Speaker 12: Levi's that when we go to next year Seattle. Ironically,
- 28:56Speaker 12: I've never been to Raymond James, which is weird. Tampa
- 29:00Speaker 12: that's not a bad place. And Carolina, uh generic, Yeah.
- 29:05Speaker 12: And the last one is it is so fine because
- 29:08Speaker 12: it's so new.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, was my first road trip.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Let's go to Mason in South Dakota. Hey, Hey, how's going, guys?
- 29:17Speaker 5: How are you?
- 29:20Speaker 8: I got a quick question. Uh, you know, we were talking.
- 29:23Speaker 8: I've heard Evan talk about before, you know that he
- 29:26Speaker 8: was kind of worried that that Bill O'Brien type offense,
- 29:28Speaker 8: you know, that puts so much stress on the quarterback
- 29:31Speaker 8: and the players and the wide receivers to really kind
- 29:34Speaker 8: of be on the same page all the time, maybe
- 29:37Speaker 8: kind of fading and struggling to be successful. But I
- 29:39Speaker 8: kind of wanted to bring up the point too and
- 29:41Speaker 8: kind of get you guys opinion on you know, you
- 29:43Speaker 8: know those classic you know think of like Tom Brady
- 29:45Speaker 8: quarterbacks to Payton Manning quarterbacks that were more of those
- 29:48Speaker 8: less mobile but kind of just kind of stuck in
- 29:50Speaker 8: the pocket and we're more of that general that you know,
- 29:52Speaker 8: drove the ball down the field, those types of things
- 29:55Speaker 8: that had the very little mobility and things like that
- 29:57Speaker 8: and that weren't really a threat with their feet. Do
- 29:59Speaker 8: you think that type of you know that archetype of
- 30:01Speaker 8: quarterback is also kind of like maybe kind of dying out.
- 30:04Speaker 8: Like you know, we think a lot of the premier
- 30:06Speaker 8: qbs in the league, and they all have that ability
- 30:08Speaker 8: to you know, for the most part, extend plays and
- 30:11Speaker 8: be somewhat of a threat with their feet when the
- 30:12Speaker 8: play breaks down. And you know Mac doesn't have that.
- 30:15Speaker 8: You know, that was kind of a big thing. That
- 30:17Speaker 8: was kind of a knocking him in college, you know,
- 30:18Speaker 8: but he was able to process quicker. You know, That's
- 30:20Speaker 8: what the kind of they kind of thought. So, you know,
- 30:23Speaker 8: and I kind of kind of thought kind of the
- 30:24Speaker 8: relation to basketball. You know, a lot of big men
- 30:26Speaker 8: now too. They have to be able to shoot, they
- 30:28Speaker 8: have to be able to guard the one through five positions,
- 30:30Speaker 8: and you know a lot of guys that they have
- 30:33Speaker 8: to have a much wider skill set and athleticism to
- 30:35Speaker 8: be successful. Yeah, so do you see that with the
- 30:38Speaker 8: quarterback as well? You know, are are those types of
- 30:41Speaker 8: things where you know a quarterback is going to have
- 30:42Speaker 8: to be able to be much more athletic than you know,
- 30:46Speaker 8: like will we ever see Mac a type of Mac
- 30:48Speaker 8: player be drafted as high as he was, because you need.
- 30:51Speaker 1: To be at least take it off the air. Okay,
- 30:53Speaker 1: thanks Mason. I think at the very least in today's
- 30:56Speaker 1: NFL you have to at least be able to extend
- 30:59Speaker 1: the play with your legs. Yeah, because I do think
- 31:02Speaker 1: that you know, defenses are more sophisticated, and you know
- 31:07Speaker 1: you're not gonna have the time to survey the field
- 31:10Speaker 1: like you know, Manning or Brady, you know, sometimes required,
- 31:14Speaker 1: but you know they would get the ball on their
- 31:16Speaker 1: hands quick. But I think you have to have some
- 31:19Speaker 1: mobility in today's game. Now, twenty years from now, it's
- 31:22Speaker 1: cycle could change again, you know, but.
- 31:25Speaker 4: It's just hard pressed.
- 31:26Speaker 12: I think to Mason's point, like looking at the draft
- 31:29Speaker 12: next year, there aren't any quarterbacks that can't move, like
- 31:32Speaker 12: just period, Like in terms of supply, right, there's just
- 31:36Speaker 12: not any quarterbacks. I think you have to get all
- 31:38Speaker 12: the way down to probably like Carson Beck from Georgia
- 31:41Speaker 12: is gonna be like a fourth round pick until like
- 31:43Speaker 12: bow Knicks can move, Daniels can move, Caleb can move,
- 31:47Speaker 12: May can move, Pennix can move a little bit, like
- 31:50Speaker 12: he's more stationary pocket passer, but he can he's a
- 31:53Speaker 12: little bit mobile. So all those guys can run around
- 31:56Speaker 12: to an extent, and I think you know, they were
- 31:58Speaker 12: talking about this on the Manning Cap a few weeks ago,
- 32:01Speaker 12: one of the three times I actually thought something was
- 32:03Speaker 12: interesting from the Manning cast and shot Oh. They were
- 32:06Speaker 12: talking to Patrick Mahomes and Peyton Manning just said that
- 32:11Speaker 12: nowadays it seems like it's like initial read, rhythm read,
- 32:15Speaker 12: which is kind of like your second read in the progression,
- 32:18Speaker 12: and then go make something happen, right, Like that's sort
- 32:20Speaker 12: of the progression for the quarterback. And then you know,
- 32:23Speaker 12: back in his day, Peyton was saying that it was
- 32:26Speaker 12: all about reading the whole field and like seeing you know,
- 32:29Speaker 12: going one, get some right, you know, and go through
- 32:32Speaker 12: the whole progression and all this stuff. And he was like,
- 32:34Speaker 12: nowadays I watch quarterbacks and it's like if one and
- 32:37Speaker 12: two ain't there, it's just make something happen, like turn
- 32:40Speaker 12: it into magic.
- 32:41Speaker 4: And Patrick Mahomes agreed with him. He said, yeah, that's
- 32:43Speaker 4: one hundred percent of what we do.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Well, remember back in the day, you had scrambled. You
- 32:48Speaker 1: didn't have mobile quarterbacks, you had scrambler. Yeah, so like
- 32:53Speaker 1: fran Tarkenton or Starback, you know, these guys would they
- 32:57Speaker 1: wouldn't run but they would scramble and they'd extend the
- 33:00Speaker 1: play behind the line of scrimmage until somebody finish.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Just to show you how different the game is. I mean,
- 33:04Speaker 4: and we're going back fifty years. But Landry hated Stabuch
- 33:09Speaker 4: because of that, and he refused to give him the job,
- 33:11Speaker 4: probably a couple of years longer than he should have waited,
- 33:15Speaker 4: you know, because he Morton was more, you know, run
- 33:19Speaker 4: the play right, Just run the play.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I think the lead too, is just so full with athletes,
- 33:23Speaker 5: like and it's I don't know about the speed. Just
- 33:24Speaker 5: be an athlete. The quarterback has to be an athlete.
- 33:26Speaker 5: You just can't have unathletic quarterbacks. Everybody on the field
- 33:29Speaker 5: can run. Everybody's fast from the defensive line all that time.
- 33:32Speaker 1: That's why. And Paul will back me up. John Elway
- 33:34Speaker 1: doesn't get enough credit. He could do it all like
- 33:38Speaker 1: he wasn't he was my number one. He could move
- 33:41Speaker 1: subtly in the pocket, like you know, just a couple
- 33:43Speaker 1: of steps here and there. But he could also take
- 33:46Speaker 1: off and run and beat guys with his feet. He
- 33:49Speaker 1: had an arm like a cannon. He was like he
- 33:52Speaker 1: had it all.
- 33:53Speaker 5: Yeah, he had it all. Tell me more plot didn't
- 33:55Speaker 5: realize he was that you liked him so much. That's interesting.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Well, because of that, I thought he was the best
- 33:59Speaker 4: common of skills. I think he also dragged far lesser
- 34:04Speaker 4: teams to the Super Bowl. I'm going to guess that
- 34:08Speaker 4: if we were doing this show in the late eighties
- 34:13Speaker 4: early nineties, that Evan would have referred to Joe Montana
- 34:18Speaker 4: as Brock Purty Light and he would have been much
- 34:22Speaker 4: more impressed with with John Elwick. So he manufactured a
- 34:25Speaker 4: bunch of yards on screens. You know that checks out, Like.
- 34:29Speaker 5: Just throw out to Jerry Rice and let him take
- 34:31Speaker 5: it to the house.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I expected with Jerry Rice very high. So I just
- 34:36Speaker 4: feel like el Way. I mean, you know, I like
- 34:41Speaker 4: the guys with the skill set. He had the best arm.
- 34:46Speaker 4: He threw it downfield, he could move, he could run,
- 34:49Speaker 4: not just move to buy time. He could also run tough.
- 34:53Speaker 4: I think he I think it was the total package.
- 34:55Speaker 4: And he did not have the amount of talent around him.
- 34:58Speaker 1: The three Amigos were so overrated, Like.
- 35:01Speaker 4: If if I think if he was on Miami, they
- 35:04Speaker 4: would have gone to the Super Bowl every year, you know.
- 35:07Speaker 4: And I think Marino was a great passer, don't get
- 35:09Speaker 4: me wrong, but Marino I don't think he had. He
- 35:13Speaker 4: didn't have the mobility that l Wait did. Those Denver
- 35:16Speaker 4: teams were very average. They weren't bad teams, but they
- 35:20Speaker 4: were very well.
- 35:20Speaker 1: They would get to the Super Bowl and get slaughtered,
- 35:24Speaker 1: you know, because they just get beaten the trenches.
- 35:26Speaker 4: And you know, but even sometimes Denver wasn't even the
- 35:29Speaker 4: best team in the a f C. And they would
- 35:31Speaker 4: go on the road and pull off an upset and
- 35:33Speaker 4: get there.
- 35:34Speaker 5: And Shannon Sharp who was their receivers d Smith.
- 35:37Speaker 4: That was toward the end. That was later, but it
- 35:39Speaker 4: was like Vance Johnson, is it Mark Jackson? Who are
- 35:43Speaker 4: the three? It was Vance Johnson, Mark Jackson, I don't know.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think somebody will look it up and tell
- 35:54Speaker 1: the defense the Orange Crush And yeah, Randy Gratis show, I.
- 36:01Speaker 4: Saw somebody posting a clip yesterday of my guy Brock
- 36:04Speaker 4: party and he throws like, he throws a slant to
- 36:08Speaker 4: Deebo Samuel and the guys like, look at the ball
- 36:11Speaker 4: placement on this slant. Then Deebo Samuel breaks three tackles
- 36:14Speaker 4: and runs into the end zone for like a forty
- 36:16Speaker 4: yard touchdown. And he's like, but the ball placement got
- 36:19Speaker 4: it all started. I'm that twenty twenty three Party man,
- 36:26Speaker 4: he's so overrated.
- 36:28Speaker 5: I'm probably gonna mess this stet up. But the general,
- 36:31Speaker 5: the general sentiment of it, like it was something like
- 36:33Speaker 5: if you take out Jackson and Johnson, if you take
- 36:37Speaker 5: out passes beyond beyond the line of scrimmage for Party,
- 36:40Speaker 5: if you just he still is like highly rated in
- 36:43Speaker 5: yards per attempt because even when he throws behind the
- 36:45Speaker 5: like even with his just his passes behind the line,
- 36:48Speaker 5: He's got a crazy.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Him because its fascinated though about the MVP voting this
- 36:53Speaker 4: year with him, because like traditionally speaking, he's the MVP
- 36:58Speaker 4: of the league, like just in terms of the.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Best quarterback of the best team, right, best quarterback of the.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Best team, So the quarterback of the best team with
- 37:04Speaker 4: the production and all those types of things. But we have,
- 37:08Speaker 4: maybe to a fault, we have a lot of advanced
- 37:11Speaker 4: metrics now that tell us that a lot of brock
- 37:14Speaker 4: Perty's production is inflated by his supporting cast. Like that's
- 37:17Speaker 4: just a fact.
- 37:17Speaker 12: And I think a lot of people are going to
- 37:19Speaker 12: look at it and say, well, Deebo, Samuel just goes
- 37:23Speaker 12: out there and breaks three tackles or Christian McCaffery catches
- 37:25Speaker 12: a screen pass and goes sixty yards for a touchdown.
- 37:28Speaker 5: And we're giving the quarterbacks.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Three people that should be in contention for most MVP.
- 37:32Speaker 1: It's Mahomes, it's Lamar, and it's Hill. Yeah those are
- 37:37Speaker 1: the three.
- 37:37Speaker 4: Oh you've missed the big one, Dak Prescott.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yeah he's playing well yeah, okay, okay, all right, I'll
- 37:45Speaker 1: give you that.
- 37:46Speaker 12: I think this year, I think Dak is If you're
- 37:49Speaker 12: going to have to give it to a quarterback, then
- 37:50Speaker 12: I think Dak is the I put him in.
- 37:52Speaker 5: Okay, I'm totally on the same page with just the
- 37:54Speaker 5: spirit of the MVP award. It is not the best player,
- 37:58Speaker 5: is not the leader of the best team. It's the
- 38:00Speaker 5: player who is doing the most without anything around him,
- 38:02Speaker 5: you know, or maybe not anything, But.
- 38:04Speaker 4: It's the guy who come out of the quarterback of
- 38:08Speaker 4: the best team.
- 38:09Speaker 8: Is that?
- 38:09Speaker 4: I mean, I haven't study shouldn't be that, but but
- 38:11Speaker 4: I haven't known.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Is that?
- 38:12Speaker 1: What is that?
- 38:13Speaker 4: What it turns into? It's a quarterback, it turns into
- 38:15Speaker 4: I know it's always I know it's always a quarterback,
- 38:17Speaker 4: but I wouldn't even think. I mean, I'm somewhere in
- 38:20Speaker 4: between Evan and like these people that evidently you're talking
- 38:23Speaker 4: about the ballplace been on a routine pass. But I
- 38:27Speaker 4: wouldn't even think about rock Proty in the hall in
- 38:29Speaker 4: the MVP. You wouldn't even be in my top ten.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I wouldn't.
- 38:32Speaker 4: I don't think he's in the top five m v
- 38:33Speaker 4: P on his own team.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I mean, it's the same thing.
- 38:35Speaker 4: When I don't, it's the same thing. However, you know, Bill,
- 38:39Speaker 4: with different guys, it doesn't look like true.
- 38:40Speaker 1: You know, for Coach of the year, like people would say, well,
- 38:43Speaker 1: you know, Bill is hurt because he has so much talent,
- 38:47Speaker 1: and so when you have that much talent, you can't
- 38:49Speaker 1: get coach of the year. Usually Coach of the Year
- 38:52Speaker 1: is a team that no one expected to be that
- 38:54Speaker 1: good and then they and then they are that good,
- 38:57Speaker 1: and so it must have been the coaching, and so
- 38:59Speaker 1: they give it to.
- 38:59Speaker 12: The and it's always like a first year, like Dable
- 39:02Speaker 12: was the coach of the year last year. Now the
- 39:04Speaker 12: Giants are fiving whatever.
- 39:06Speaker 4: But I just look at you know, guys like Purty
- 39:08Speaker 4: and I think it was maybe it was Greg Olsen
- 39:10Speaker 4: that was on that broadcast and he was talking about.
- 39:12Speaker 4: You know, for example, like Kurt Warner won MVP with
- 39:15Speaker 4: the greatest show on turf and had Hall of Fame
- 39:17Speaker 4: players all around him on offense, but the quarterback won
- 39:20Speaker 4: MVP like that was, and that's how it used to be.
- 39:23Speaker 4: You know, guys like that.
- 39:24Speaker 5: You know, he.
- 39:27Speaker 4: The year that he won MVP though, like to come
- 39:30Speaker 4: off the bench having never played. I don't know if
- 39:32Speaker 4: you know, but he used to stock shelves in a supermow.
- 39:34Speaker 5: I've heard I've heard heard this story he played time.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Okay, that movie is in my in my like aggregation.
- 39:41Speaker 4: That's a little different. I think he deserved that was
- 39:45Speaker 4: the year, right, ninety nine.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I think so, Yeah, overrated.
- 39:49Speaker 4: I didn't say he wasn't overrated, he shouldn't be in
- 39:51Speaker 4: the Hall of Fame. I didn't say he should be
- 39:53Speaker 4: in the Hall of Fame. I'm just saying, in nineteen
- 39:54Speaker 4: ninety nine, when you are like an undrafted guy who's
- 39:58Speaker 4: you know, coming off the ban and nothing to expected
- 40:01Speaker 4: and you put up that kind of a season.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Okay, so there should be a special award for that
- 40:05Speaker 1: m v P coming out of nowhere award, the.
- 40:08Speaker 4: MVP Awards, that's what it is. Like he was the
- 40:12Speaker 4: bestest player and everybody you know, I think five thousand
- 40:16Speaker 4: yards in that offense.
- 40:17Speaker 5: We got Coach of the Year this year.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Coach this year, Yeah, Marshall fall.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Well, it depends on what happens. I think there's still
- 40:24Speaker 1: a little bit like Mike McDaniel should be in the running.
- 40:27Speaker 5: I think, you know, coach of the year Peterson, I
- 40:32Speaker 5: have a coach of the year for you, I believe
- 40:34Speaker 5: it or not. Put up.
- 40:38Speaker 1: That's another is one games with four different quarterbacks, that's
- 40:42Speaker 1: another one to put up? What what you have to
- 40:44Speaker 1: put up with in Dallas and win. I say that
- 40:47Speaker 1: he should be in the running.
- 40:49Speaker 4: So I think until they have fallen off a little
- 40:52Speaker 4: bit lately. But Damiko Ryans was like the bed favorite
- 40:55Speaker 4: for a.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Really long time.
- 40:56Speaker 4: I think deserves consideration. I think you can psych it week.
- 41:00Speaker 6: So I don't know.
- 41:01Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good one.
- 41:02Speaker 4: I think some of them, but that falls into the
- 41:04Speaker 4: the Evan thing of team not expected to do much
- 41:07Speaker 4: first year coach. I think Cleveland, I don't know like that.
- 41:12Speaker 4: I think it's impressive to have four different guys win games.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Now, you can say some of his decisions are part
- 41:17Speaker 1: of the reason, but Robert Salah keeping that team in contention.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Colson's AFC Player of the Week. I mean, like he's
- 41:24Speaker 5: doing something right over there.
- 41:25Speaker 1: And you know, I know he's a defensive minded coach,
- 41:29Speaker 1: but that defense is one of the best in the league.
- 41:33Speaker 1: He's kept them competitive throughout, you know, the whole season.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I got to give him some.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Prove he's not going to be Coach of the Year,
- 41:40Speaker 4: but I give him credit for keeping.
- 41:42Speaker 3: It together personality manager of the year.
- 41:44Speaker 4: But I will say, can like the Players of the
- 41:46Speaker 4: Week awards like come back to us NFL. Like Tommy DeVito,
- 41:50Speaker 4: he threw for like one hundred and fifty yards. What
- 41:53Speaker 4: are you doing?
- 41:53Speaker 5: I like big Jim Murrays thing on the radioesterday where
- 41:55Speaker 5: like all NFL teams should be required to have a
- 41:57Speaker 5: thirst in quarterback. That's like a local stereotype, right right,
- 42:00Speaker 5: be perfect.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Wilson.
- 42:04Speaker 12: And you couldn't find anybody this week than Zach Wilson
- 42:06Speaker 12: and Tommy DeVito's Sully.
- 42:12Speaker 5: In the old days, even though you're open.
- 42:14Speaker 1: In the old days, when Red Arback was drafting for
- 42:17Speaker 1: the Celtics in the later rounds, he drafted the local
- 42:19Speaker 1: kids so they didn't have to pay for the flight.
- 42:23Speaker 5: And the Bruins always. But but then on the other.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Hand, when Ray Flynn, who became the mayor of Boss
- 42:29Speaker 1: and he was a pretty good player for BC, he
- 42:32Speaker 1: was high draft pick. He didn't want to pick him
- 42:34Speaker 1: because the local you know, he would be too much
- 42:37Speaker 1: of a local favorite.
- 42:38Speaker 4: Why he didn't make the team. And he didn't make
- 42:40Speaker 4: the team right because of that?
- 42:41Speaker 1: Yeah, but PC I think was probably Providence College.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that's my sister knows. Charlie Coyle's mom a
- 42:47Speaker 5: little bit, just through waymouth stuff. But but she was
- 42:50Speaker 5: terrified when he got traded here that it wasn't gonna
- 42:52Speaker 5: work out, and this is the team he loves. And
- 42:54Speaker 5: obviously it did work out. It was, you know, great trade.
- 42:56Speaker 5: He's been a great player for the Bruins. But he's
- 42:58Speaker 5: just the presh buok, right, there's something. Yeah, the local.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Solid third, solid Charlie solid third.
- 43:08Speaker 5: I mean, I think, yeah, he gets miscast, people want more,
- 43:10Speaker 5: but I think they take him on your team.
- 43:13Speaker 4: He's perfect on the third line.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Let's go to Dan in New Jersey. What's up Dan?
- 43:19Speaker 6: Hey, Hi, Hey, hi, Hi, first time, long time there
- 43:23Speaker 6: you go. Com question. So the comment is I'm from
- 43:28Speaker 6: Tommy Dedido's hometown in Jersey here have a cutlet on
- 43:34Speaker 6: me my son, and they went to school together, great
- 43:37Speaker 6: school for a couple of years, but then he transferred
- 43:42Speaker 6: to one of these football factories, don Bosco, so big
- 43:46Speaker 6: go to high school with him or anything. But so
- 43:49Speaker 6: it was a big deal when he was on, you know,
- 43:51Speaker 6: after the Patriots game. I guess he won his second
- 43:53Speaker 6: game and they were on the bye week and he
- 43:56Speaker 6: was all over. He was you know, local pizzeria and
- 44:01Speaker 6: finding autographs and delis and the like. Anyway, But the
- 44:06Speaker 6: other thing is that it doesn't get a lot of
- 44:08Speaker 6: process that David ni Choko was also from Cedar Grove
- 44:11Speaker 6: or at least was here a couple of years, and
- 44:14Speaker 6: he did play on the high school team.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, So I went to Evert High and there
- 44:21Speaker 4: are a lot of NFL players that went to high school,
- 44:24Speaker 4: including Isaiah Likely.
- 44:26Speaker 5: Oh right now, he's pretty good Mallie Cunningham's team right now.
- 44:29Speaker 4: Correct.
- 44:30Speaker 1: So I'm hoping you there's like a punchline to this story,
- 44:35Speaker 1: trying to punch what's the you got anything good on
- 44:38Speaker 1: on to Vito anything?
- 44:40Speaker 4: Cutlets are overrated?
- 44:41Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 44:42Speaker 6: Probably Dan the funny thing is it's you know, it's
- 44:46Speaker 6: kind of a bedroom community here. We're fifteen miles from Manhattan,
- 44:49Speaker 6: so there's not a lot of people in the street,
- 44:52Speaker 6: but he is. In social media. People are posting, oh
- 44:55Speaker 6: they saw a picture of him rooting for him, you know,
- 44:58Speaker 6: big time. Yep, there's not really a punchline.
- 45:03Speaker 1: But I just thought you were going to give us
- 45:04Speaker 1: something like, you know, Okay, here's here's why I'm telling
- 45:09Speaker 1: you this.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Well, I guess that I don't have anything. He was
- 45:15Speaker 6: a little bit of a jerk.
- 45:16Speaker 4: I guess, Okay, okay, I don't.
- 45:21Speaker 6: Have I don't have anything specific. Yeah, he's a cocky kid,
- 45:26Speaker 6: and you know, I guess that serves him.
- 45:28Speaker 4: Well.
- 45:29Speaker 6: I think he he has a chance to make it.
- 45:31Speaker 6: I don't know if you guys agree, but I mean
- 45:35Speaker 6: he'll compete for a job next year, right, probably.
- 45:38Speaker 4: For a job like as a backup. Yeah, yeah, I
- 45:41Speaker 4: would agree with that. Yeah, yeah, I don't think anybody
- 45:45Speaker 4: be looking not.
- 45:46Speaker 5: Going to throw Dannel Jones though, Man, that's not crazy.
- 45:48Speaker 4: Well that's a little bar.
- 45:50Speaker 10: No.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I think I think he has a future in the NFL.
- 45:53Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, I agree with that.
- 45:55Speaker 12: I just think that you look at his performance in
- 45:57Speaker 12: that game to win NFC Player of the Week over
- 46:00Speaker 12: Dak who destroyed the Eagles on Sunday night.
- 46:03Speaker 5: Oh yeah, he did a lot, all right.
- 46:06Speaker 3: It's like the closest thing to lynsanity.
- 46:09Speaker 5: Remember, yeah, exactly what right?
- 46:12Speaker 1: The basketball.
- 46:15Speaker 4: Player of the Week. Don't you feel like that's like
- 46:17Speaker 4: the NFL just kind of fueling the Oh for sure.
- 46:22Speaker 4: It's not actually the.
- 46:23Speaker 9: Most round, like his agent on the sideline and his family,
- 46:27Speaker 9: like he's soaking up the fifteen minutes and maybe.
- 46:30Speaker 5: Making something his hometown Colin.
- 46:32Speaker 4: My wife knows the agent a little bit. Grew up
- 46:35Speaker 4: like four houses down.
- 46:36Speaker 3: One of the agent works with Jonas Gray, Jordas Gray.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Don't quote me on that, but the c our girls
- 46:42Speaker 3: have to work with the agent.
- 46:43Speaker 1: All the time.
- 46:45Speaker 4: He's a goof. Yeah, he's a harmless goof. And Beth
- 46:49Speaker 4: liked him.
- 46:50Speaker 5: But he seems very agenty.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Yeah he was. He's a few years younger than us,
- 46:55Speaker 4: so he was in school with my brother in law.
- 46:58Speaker 4: But yeah, he grew up in the same neighborhood and Salem.
- 47:01Speaker 3: I thought the pinstripe suit in the hall, it's not.
- 47:08Speaker 4: It is somebody that's really really selling He does it
- 47:14Speaker 4: like he does wear hats like that's not that's not
- 47:17Speaker 4: really a shtick, but like the black pin striped suit
- 47:19Speaker 4: like a gangster. I think it was brilliant, like Tony
- 47:23Speaker 4: Sopranos lawyer, and he knew what he was doing. And
- 47:26Speaker 4: look what happens in the in this week, Like that's
- 47:29Speaker 4: what when you're young sort of up and trying to
- 47:31Speaker 4: be an up and coming agent, that's how you increase
- 47:34Speaker 4: your profile, like he struck while the iron was hot
- 47:37Speaker 4: and prospects now I can tell you every Italian And
- 47:41Speaker 4: I don't pretend to be the Sean. I'm not trying
- 47:44Speaker 4: to be like the Shan Stillado like expert or anything.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Far from it. But he's done a lot of really
- 47:50Speaker 4: good stuff around Salem, for like the youth programs and
- 47:53Speaker 4: things like that. And when he shows up, he's wearing
- 47:55Speaker 4: like quarter zips and you know Salem, you know, so
- 47:58Speaker 4: he's not wearing black pins right suits, like he's a gangster.
- 48:01Speaker 5: You know what I mean.
- 48:02Speaker 3: It's a different case.
- 48:03Speaker 4: So but I'm just saying like people like I I
- 48:05Speaker 4: heard someone say that yesterday on the radio, that like
- 48:08Speaker 4: that's what he is. This guy is a total clown
- 48:10Speaker 4: and I'm like, listen, he's an agent, so there's always
- 48:12Speaker 4: a degree of a little bit of clown. Yeah, slipperiness
- 48:15Speaker 4: to an agent.
- 48:17Speaker 3: So much as like a clown.
- 48:19Speaker 4: But that's not what he dresses like every day his Instagram,
- 48:23Speaker 4: the way.
- 48:24Speaker 9: He dresses is very like not super flashy, but like
- 48:28Speaker 9: I would just be like, that man's Italian.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I could tell that that man not peaky.
- 48:35Speaker 4: And again and again, when it's an Italian Fred, you can,
- 48:40Speaker 4: without any kind of repercussion, go on Twitter and say
- 48:43Speaker 4: this guy looks like you could have your neighbor whacked.
- 48:46Speaker 5: And there's nothing that happens to be there.
- 48:51Speaker 4: Not offended in the least, Italian, not offended in the least.
- 48:57Speaker 4: I was just this is of him.
- 48:59Speaker 5: Come back to that they traded just the NFL is
- 49:03Speaker 5: headed to Brazil. The league will play a twenty twenty
- 49:05Speaker 5: four regular season. Yeah, ittheans are in. And that was
- 49:08Speaker 5: the best kept secret ever. I thought that was years away.
- 49:12Speaker 5: Oh and I questioned the decision.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Alex, So we're going to Brazil.
- 49:17Speaker 5: Background there, I don't know if we are, but the
- 49:19Speaker 5: league is going to play when it's a new market,
- 49:22Speaker 5: he said. The league also is expanding its international slate
- 49:25Speaker 5: starting in twenty twenty five, with up to eight games
- 49:27Speaker 5: outside the US in addition to the Yeah, how many?
- 49:30Speaker 4: How many? This year?
- 49:33Speaker 5: Five Germany and I think five. I think it was
- 49:36Speaker 5: three London.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Five, So they're going to add three more. London's one
- 49:40Speaker 4: thing because London is basically just like going out west, right,
- 49:43Speaker 4: Like it's like a five six hour flight for US. Yeah,
- 49:45Speaker 4: but I'm saying just yes for me because that's all.
- 49:49Speaker 5: But I mean it's like a lot.
- 49:51Speaker 4: There's twenty six other teams that it's not just like
- 49:53Speaker 4: going on West. Yeah, but I don't work for twenty
- 49:56Speaker 4: you know.
- 49:57Speaker 1: And it's the passports and the logistics. It's a it's
- 50:00Speaker 1: a stress on an organization to I just travel international.
- 50:03Speaker 4: I'd like to really see what the real books say
- 50:06Speaker 4: on these games that they're getting from it. I just can't.
- 50:10Speaker 5: If you're in the league.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Though, when you look at what the NBA is doing,
- 50:14Speaker 1: and you know, and even base like they have more
- 50:18Speaker 1: of an international appeal because they're getting players from other
- 50:21Speaker 1: countries to play in their league, and and that's where
- 50:25Speaker 1: the lead. The NFL can't compete right now, so they
- 50:28Speaker 1: have to do something to expand their borders.
- 50:30Speaker 5: And even in Germany, we had like a couple of
- 50:32Speaker 5: football teams there right that we talked to that played football,
- 50:35Speaker 5: and around there was a women's team as well. Yeah,
- 50:38Speaker 5: it's h no, it's true.
- 50:40Speaker 1: But the league ultimately, the league needs more people playing
- 50:44Speaker 1: football out of here so they can get more talent
- 50:48Speaker 1: in the league from other countries.
- 50:49Speaker 5: I have a question few Fred because when I was
- 50:51Speaker 5: when I was a blogger, I felt like Brazil was
- 50:54Speaker 5: a huge Patriot, Like some of my traffic was all
- 50:56Speaker 5: from Brazil. Is that an NFL fan thing or is
- 50:58Speaker 5: that a specific like I.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Mean during Brady, we we developed fans from everywhere, and
- 51:03Speaker 1: Brazil was big. Yeah, we were the.
- 51:05Speaker 5: Number one gill that he must not have heard it too.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and that helped.
- 51:08Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, not for nothing to a lot of
- 51:13Speaker 9: Brazilians when they immigrate to America. They come to like
- 51:17Speaker 9: the Rhode Island, like Portuguese beach. I think the third
- 51:20Speaker 9: most spoken language in the state, Yeah, behind Spanish.
- 51:23Speaker 1: And Portuguese community.
- 51:24Speaker 9: So I think if you know someone that maybe lives
- 51:27Speaker 9: near Boston, you're just like, that's your connection, So you
- 51:30Speaker 9: root for the Patriots, call the success New Bedford.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Yeah, to river a lot of like we had a
- 51:36Speaker 5: couple like Portuguese chefs down to the restaurants and Cape
- 51:39Speaker 5: Cott and stuff that I worked out.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Ye Portuguese bakeries.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Oh yeah, there was one in La on Ventura, Natasha
- 51:48Speaker 5: Sherman Oaks. Oh my gosh. They had like those cheese,
- 51:51Speaker 5: those cheese like kind of little Danish things. They're amazing.
- 51:54Speaker 1: All right, I forget what I was going to say. Anyway,
- 51:59Speaker 1: five hundred to take a hotline is in San Francisco.
- 52:04Speaker 1: What's up, Gearon?
- 52:06Speaker 13: Hey, what's going on?
- 52:06Speaker 1: Guys?
- 52:07Speaker 14: I just wanted to kind of mention you guys briefly
- 52:09Speaker 14: touched on what ass like.
- 52:12Speaker 8: And it's kind of for me a hot.
- 52:13Speaker 14: Button topic because I feel like there's this inflated perception
- 52:17Speaker 14: that like, if you come here, your car is definitely
- 52:20Speaker 14: gonna get broken into.
- 52:21Speaker 3: Yeah, well it's personal experience.
- 52:24Speaker 4: I'm not just like that.
- 52:27Speaker 14: You guys know.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Sorry, I'm talking to Paul, not you, But it's just like,
- 52:32Speaker 3: I don't.
- 52:32Speaker 14: Know, it's something I want to stand down, especially if
- 52:34Speaker 14: there's some Patriots fans that are like, oh, I'd love
- 52:36Speaker 14: to go see the Niners player or something like that. Yes,
- 52:39Speaker 14: that's an amazing city to be in, but like absolutely,
- 52:42Speaker 14: if you're using a rental car, don't leave luggage in there.
- 52:45Speaker 14: It's gonna get bipped. And like, yeah, there's some spots
- 52:49Speaker 14: that aren't great, like the Tenderloine you mentioned.
- 52:54Speaker 5: Yeah, but like.
- 52:57Speaker 14: As a section that's not great. I'm sure Boston and
- 53:01Speaker 14: something like that.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Don't go one. It's all wonder.
- 53:05Speaker 10: It's just worth.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Yeah and looked at you want.
- 53:13Speaker 10: It's a great place to be, Okay.
- 53:14Speaker 5: I had a great time. I went there in twenty sixteen.
- 53:17Speaker 5: You know, it did the whole Kira DELI had dinner
- 53:19Speaker 5: with my cousins and family and walked around and I
- 53:22Speaker 5: mean it's a little bit of a I mean, people
- 53:23Speaker 5: don't realize it's a it's a little bit of a
- 53:25Speaker 5: drive to get down to the stadium out of San
- 53:27Speaker 5: Francisco proper. But yeah, I had a great time. It's
- 53:30Speaker 5: like like Foxborough, Yeah, yeah, pretty much pretty much.
- 53:33Speaker 1: We had a conference there in the NFL and so
- 53:35Speaker 1: I spent like three four days there and went to
- 53:37Speaker 1: Alcatraz and down the Fish.
- 53:39Speaker 4: I went to Alcatraz when we were.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Went to In and out Burger.
- 53:43Speaker 14: Oh, Alcatraz. Anyone who's grown up here has never been
- 53:47Speaker 14: on Alcatraz.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Yeah, what's kind of like Fred saying, Yeah, I don't
- 53:51Speaker 4: know if I can go to people in New York
- 53:53Speaker 4: that never went to the Empire State Building or I
- 53:55Speaker 4: haven't been off the lighthouse yet. Yeah, I haven't been.
- 53:57Speaker 4: All right, thanks, I know how you New York and
- 54:00Speaker 4: don't go to the Empire State in the middle. I
- 54:03Speaker 4: mean I haven't, but I haven't. I figured you.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I don't mean like the top, That's what I'm talking about,
- 54:09Speaker 1: Like everybody walks by it, but I'm.
- 54:10Speaker 4: Talking about you know, I'm out, we're here.
- 54:15Speaker 5: You want to go follow radio.
- 54:18Speaker 4: I did like that area. Fred took me through it
- 54:21Speaker 4: like two weeks ago when we were coming back from
- 54:22Speaker 4: lunch and that whole area down there. That's nice. Oh,
- 54:28Speaker 4: it is beautiful.
- 54:29Speaker 3: It is pretty sweet.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Uh. Danny's in Florida. Hey Danny, Danny, how.
- 54:35Speaker 4: You guys doing it good?
- 54:36Speaker 5: Hey Danny, I.
- 54:39Speaker 15: Want to give your guys opinion thoughts about what you
- 54:41Speaker 15: guys think about from the recent reports from Tom Karan
- 54:44Speaker 15: of NBC Boston Sports and UH also want you to
- 54:49Speaker 15: your thoughts on the UH draft pick coming in.
- 54:53Speaker 16: Uh Drake May from u n C.
- 54:56Speaker 1: Okay, well, did you hear the top of the show.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Did you hear the beginning of the show, Danny?
- 55:02Speaker 15: So I came in towards the end.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Okay, we we did talk about Tom the report, and
- 55:07Speaker 1: I think we're all agreeing that it could be true.
- 55:10Speaker 1: But it wasn't really a report. It was his opinion
- 55:14Speaker 1: that he said in a show. You know, if you're
- 55:16Speaker 1: going to file a report, you write it. You write
- 55:19Speaker 1: the report. And he was just a member of a
- 55:21Speaker 1: panel on a show, and it was it's what he
- 55:24Speaker 1: thought based on people he's talked to. But it really
- 55:28Speaker 1: wasn't a report.
- 55:30Speaker 15: So what do you guys think about? Then?
- 55:32Speaker 16: From Robert Craft kind of what he said at the
- 55:35Speaker 16: Army Navy game on Saturday about how Pat McAfee had
- 55:40Speaker 16: brought up and the other announcer had brought up about
- 55:44Speaker 16: Belichick or harbor craft building of the team and him
- 55:49Speaker 16: kind of bringing Belichick into it without directly saying his name,
- 55:52Speaker 16: about what the legacy he's brought in here and partnerships,
- 55:56Speaker 16: like some insight on that, like what do you what
- 55:59Speaker 16: do you think they're leaving some kind of breadcrumbs out
- 56:01Speaker 16: there like they kind of draw you know.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Fans and you know, no, I don't. I don't. There
- 56:07Speaker 1: were two parts to that. One was he asked about
- 56:10Speaker 1: building businesses and his success in business, and Robert mentioned
- 56:14Speaker 1: hiring good people and letting them do their job and
- 56:18Speaker 1: that we have a lot of really good people that
- 56:19Speaker 1: have been in my companies for a long time. The
- 56:22Speaker 1: second part was at the end when McAfee said, you know,
- 56:25Speaker 1: I don't envy you for what you have to do
- 56:28Speaker 1: at the end of the season, and it was going
- 56:31Speaker 1: to a commercial, so Robert Craft didn't say anything, and
- 56:35Speaker 1: so a lot of people thought that by him not
- 56:38Speaker 1: saying anything that and what McAfee was referring to specifically
- 56:43Speaker 1: was having to make a decision on Belichick, whichhich I'm
- 56:46Speaker 1: sure part of it, you know, But to me, I
- 56:49Speaker 1: think everybody's looking for something and more was made out
- 56:53Speaker 1: of both of those things than should have been made.
- 56:56Speaker 1: But I get it.
- 56:58Speaker 5: We're all looking for nuggets and they're all trying to
- 57:00Speaker 5: careful of what they say. I mean, I think they
- 57:01Speaker 5: realize now everything can be taken.
- 57:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we have you think go ahead.
- 57:06Speaker 15: Do you think the Craft will come out immediately after
- 57:08Speaker 15: the season and make an announcements?
- 57:10Speaker 1: The last thing I have, well, one way or the other.
- 57:12Speaker 1: We're gonna know really quickly after the season whether he's
- 57:15Speaker 1: staying or going.
- 57:16Speaker 4: I don't know if he'll be immediate.
- 57:21Speaker 12: Because I don't think it'll be immediate because they if
- 57:24Speaker 12: they're going to try to trade him.
- 57:25Speaker 5: Then they have to go.
- 57:26Speaker 1: They're not going to try to trade him.
- 57:27Speaker 4: You don't think so, No, No, I don't.
- 57:30Speaker 1: I think I think that's ridiculous. I mean, like I
- 57:33Speaker 1: was all in on that. I was all in on that, Oh,
- 57:35Speaker 1: we can get it, you know first round A you're
- 57:38Speaker 1: not going to get it and be I just think
- 57:40Speaker 1: if they don't want him, they're going to let him walk.
- 57:43Speaker 1: You know, they did that with Brady, and I think
- 57:45Speaker 1: they would do it with Bill Belichick if they want
- 57:48Speaker 1: to move on.
- 57:49Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I just think I know about it.
- 57:51Speaker 1: If you're Bill Belichick, it's like you're trading me, Like
- 57:54Speaker 1: what if I don't want to go there?
- 57:56Speaker 4: Well, it's not about well, he wouldn't be trading him
- 57:58Speaker 4: somewhere he doesn't want to go by the.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Sweat Like, if you're okay, so he wants to go
- 58:02Speaker 1: to Dallas, let's say, yeah, hey, Jerry, just wait it out,
- 58:07Speaker 1: don't don't don't trade. You know they don't want me.
- 58:11Speaker 1: You know, I don't want to go to a team
- 58:13Speaker 1: and all of a sudden I don't have my first
- 58:15Speaker 1: round pick because they traded for me. I don't think
- 58:19Speaker 1: the Crafts are going to do that if if they
- 58:21Speaker 1: don't want him, I don't think they'll. We'll spring this
- 58:24Speaker 1: out and try to get the best offer and all that.
- 58:27Speaker 12: If they let Bill walk for nothing, the same way
- 58:30Speaker 12: they let Brady walk for nothing, They're gonna take a
- 58:32Speaker 12: lot of heat for that.
- 58:34Speaker 4: Brady, for me, Brady and are not the usual assets
- 58:40Speaker 4: on a team that I don't disagree, but I just
- 58:42Speaker 4: know how this town works, and I probably right about
- 58:46Speaker 4: you know, Sully, you know. But I applauded it for Brady,
- 58:51Speaker 4: not that the fact that they let him go, but
- 58:53Speaker 4: that they didn't franchise him or yeah, they didn't shackle
- 58:57Speaker 4: him here and say no, you can't leave. He wanted
- 58:59Speaker 4: to go. They let him go. I applauded him for that.
- 59:02Speaker 4: I know they took some heat for it, but I
- 59:03Speaker 4: thought it was the right thing to do.
- 59:04Speaker 5: I got a question, though, you guys were here in
- 59:06Speaker 5: two thousand, how did you find when they traded a
- 59:07Speaker 5: pick for Bill, like when they gave up that pick
- 59:10Speaker 5: to get him, Like did you were you guys okay
- 59:11Speaker 5: with that? Because I mean it was all the time.
- 59:13Speaker 1: He was to me, that was it was great, but
- 59:16Speaker 1: it was drawn out. But that was the case where
- 59:20Speaker 1: Bill was supposed to take over as head coach, Parcels
- 59:24Speaker 1: really wasn't leaving, and it was a new owner and
- 59:27Speaker 1: Belichick didn't want to be there. He just didn't want
- 59:29Speaker 1: to be there, you know.
- 59:31Speaker 5: But I just meant from like the from your team's
- 59:33Speaker 5: perspective when you were doing PFW in progress or whatever, like,
- 59:36Speaker 5: you know, how do you feel about, I mean, giving
- 59:38Speaker 5: up a pick for you know, a coach who had
- 59:40Speaker 5: you know, failed in Cleveland and you know, hadn't really done.
- 59:43Speaker 5: I mean, it was just it seems like a lot.
- 59:44Speaker 5: And when everybody says I don't want to go to
- 59:46Speaker 5: a team where I don't have a first round pick,
- 59:48Speaker 5: like it's I don't know, it's just it's we've lived it, oh.
- 59:50Speaker 8: I know.
- 59:51Speaker 1: And there was a lot of criticism hiring Belichick, you know,
- 59:56Speaker 1: Kevin Mannix or somebody called him Ponds, scum, duplicitest Ponds, Yeah,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: like that. I mean, people were dead set against hiring
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Belichick and I think Paul. Were you on the show
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: that night with Borges?
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: Yeah, so we used to have a guy. Yeah, we
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: used to have a guy that did radio here at nights,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: Ted Surrandas and the night that the deal had just
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: happened and Paul was on with Ted Saranders of Ron
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: Borges and Ron Borges is you know, notable, crusty, you know,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: old time journalism doesn't.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: Give I have words for Ron doesn't give two.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: F's about anything we'll say. And that night, like both
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Sarrandas and Borgeous were like all over Belichick, how you know?
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: And Craft?
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: How can you hire this guy? He stinks? Blah blah blah.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: The phones were lit up, and you know, Paul, poor
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: Paul was on there and he's working for pf W
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: at the time, trying to like, I think it could
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: be all right.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: You know, I had to talk Teddy off.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: The l Why were they so against him? I mean,
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: did herb people wrong when he was a terrible coach
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: in Cleveland?
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: Just that I just meant, did he didn't have people wrong?
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: No?
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: But that's what the opinion was at that time, right,
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: And just like his smugness was already a thing that
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: like his the Belichick was you know, the way he
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: handled gloom.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you know, so a lot of people were
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: against him. Plus you know, you went against Parcels and
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: a lot of these people were they loved Bill Parcells.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Oh they love them. Some prove well and so.
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: And that's like the thing, like, you know, if there
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: was another head coach here next year, no matter what
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: the decision is, there's going to be a sizable population
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: in Boston that's going to hate the move. It'll probably
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: be a minority of people that like the move no
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: matter who it is. You know, it's hard to see
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: the majority getting on board with with anybody. And that's
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: you know, that's just how good.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Oh look I give you know craft. It took a
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: lot to hire this guy when there are other people available,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: but he liked Bill from his first meeting when he
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: was an assistant here. Probably have hired him right away
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: when Parcells left, but he needed that distance from the
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: whole Parcels thing, so they obviously ended up hiring Pete Carroll.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: But when the opportunity came, you know, in two thousand,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: he went back to Belichick because he was impressed when
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: he first met him, he knew he was really smart.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: He had the economics background, so he wanted someone who
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: understood the cap and the ramifications of all of that,
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: and you know, so he went with it. But it
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: took a lot of courage because not a lot of
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: people thought Bill Belichick was.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: The I know, it kind of seems silly retrospect. Fred
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: is exactly right that that was. That was an unpopular choice,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: and the fact that you were giving up a first
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: round pick for it only complicated.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, but as a leap of faith it
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: turned out to be, you know, the best move ever.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: And I will say that and that if you're an
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: owner and you believe in the code, just then a
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: first round pick is a small price to pay.
- 1:03:04Speaker 5: Right and especially where they were looking long term, and
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: you know, it was I mean, I just I think
- 1:03:08Speaker 5: there's a little bit more immediacy of things now, so
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: that'll be an interesting cut twist to it.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: But you know, hopefully your coach is going to be
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: there for a long time, and a first round pick
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: is is nothing if he's the guy. I mean, you
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: believe he's the guy.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: And then they came the next year and hit on
- 1:03:25Speaker 5: their Richard Seymour and that light and.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: Everybody hit on those and then everybody hated that pick too. Yeah,
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: it just again, look until you prove it on the field.
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: Brady hated Bill Ye remember I don't remember him hating Brady.
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: He definitely wanted David Terrell and did not like Seymour.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: And that's the guy resigned, and that's.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: The guy that that pitches the Hall of Fame Committee
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: on our players. But well, I'm not gonna argue with that.
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: I don't know what those two things have to do
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: with it.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean when they drafted Brady, it was
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: nobody even wasn't even.
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: A six round.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: There are people that were mad that they drafted a
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: quarterback this six I don't remember. I mean I can
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: I can remember vividly columns killing the Seymour pick. He
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: couldn't he didn't rush the pass because people didn't know,
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: like the whole two gap and what his value would
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: be and stuff like that. But people were really critical
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: players Richard Richard. But then then you watch him playing
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: in the NFL, and it's a different thing. You can
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: see his value like that's not the same thing.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: But whatever, No, I maybe maybe you have the receipts Evan,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: but when they picked Brady, Okay, move on.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: I don't think there's a lot of criticism of the
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: one hundred and ninety nine pick except for rich Eisen
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: And there it is.
- 1:04:48Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: Evan's off to practice, so we'll find out we're talking about.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: Let's get Pop Douglas back like that.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Yeah, web radio at pages dot com is.
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: But I'd like to see him relax, get him absolutely no, no, no,
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: Like I worry guys with two concussions in a season,
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: I don't need to see him play in meaningless games.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: I'd like to make sure that he's okay. And I'm
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: dead serious when I say this. I know people are like,
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: oh the Pollyanna, he's worried about his Yeah, I am.
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: I've seen guys ruined careers with concussions early on and
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: never be the same. I don't want to see that happen.
- 1:05:24Speaker 10: T J.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: Watt did not play a normal game the other night.
- 1:05:26Speaker 4: I'm sorry he was that he was concussed. He did
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: not look right to me, Mike, you said it as
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: soon as we saw the tinted visor on his helmet.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: What are they doing?
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: You know? Like, yeah, I am a little I'm a
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: little squirrely with concussions. Mike Wright was never the same. Like,
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: he's the guys that I don't really see what what's
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: to be gained, you know, obviously if he's one hundred
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: percent healthy, But I would just ask, well, who's making
- 1:05:53Speaker 4: that determination?
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Sean and Pedaluma, California. You know Pedaluma.
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: I've seen what should do, but I don't. I don't
- 1:06:00Speaker 5: think i've traveled.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: Okay, guys in gal I find myself a bit emotional
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: about Bill Leavings since Kurrn's report yesterday. Bill has been
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: our north star for so long. Do your job has
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: seeped into my personal life. Same with improve every day
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: and we're on to Cincinnati. Maybe it shouldn't be the
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Patriot way. Maybe it should be the Bill way. I
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: can't sum up my emotions really well today. I just
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: don't want to want it to end. At least we
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: love Bill rather than never had Bill at all. Oh,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: but again, it's not a report.
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: I I do wonder at least maybe No, No, I
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: don't think he is.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: He knows what he said. He didn't say it was
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: a report, I know, But.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: It doesn't matter what he said I how's David Portanoy
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: had like an emergency podcast? I know, right, Like, it
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: doesn't matter what he actually said, it's how it's been taken. Yeah.
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: I just I think that there might be a little
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: bit of a surge in the support here over the
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: last four games, because I mean, let's face it, he's
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: like the last kind of vestige left of what was
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: special about this team, and when he's gone, you're just
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: you're being cast to the wind, you don't know. I mean,
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: I just laugh when people are like, I mean it's
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: at least a four year rebuild, I'm like, really four years,
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: Like it could be forty years, Like, how do you know?
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: You're just another NFL team now? And that's you know, unfortunately,
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: it's it's going to have to happen. But I think
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: there are people that are going to get to that
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: point where they say, I kind of like at least
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: having Bill Belichick here and like, oh, you know the
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: things that come with it.
- 1:07:23Speaker 9: I mean, we know those same people were writing him
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: out of town on Twitter and call it like it's
- 1:07:27Speaker 9: just I mean, I mean, those.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: Those are the loud people. And of course there's there's
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: plenty and for good reason. Look, I mean we sit
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: here and talk about it all the time, and you know,
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: even you know today, not to get into names, but
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: you know, people are pushing back on like, well he
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: hasn't had a quarterback, and it's like, well, if that's
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: how you feel, then why don't you think you should
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: have done more at the quarterback position instead of just
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: staying pat with Bailey Zappy and mac Jones last year.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's going to be interesting if
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: he does go and they hire, you know, one of
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: these offensive minded coaches who's never been a head coach before,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: and he comes in and the media is like, oh
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: now we're going to be able to ask questions and
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: he's the same way down I will laugh.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: I can almost guarantee that whoever the next coach is,
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: this is going to give you all the answers that
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: you're looking for, you know, someone.
- 1:08:14Speaker 9: Especially if we're also simultaneously trying to develop quarterback right.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: No, I mean I don't really care like that much,
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: but it won't be like this.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Oh no, he'll do it with a smile on his face.
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: But I don't want him to give up information.
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: You know, no nobody gives up in I's you can
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: answer question, conversational, courteous, you know those things.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Jonathan, the Chiefs hater, writes in I'm from a small
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: town about an hour away from Kansas City and Missouri.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: As a Pats fan, I cannot stand the Chiefs and
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: the fans they have. I'm like everyone else. I was
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: really pulling for Mac, but now I hit the reality
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: wall this season and I've been on the tank wave.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: But this week we must beat the Chiefs. He puts
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: it in caps. The tank must wait one more week.
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: I hope Zappi shocks the world this week and we
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: pull a win out that no one expects us to win.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: My question is what do we do if we fall
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: out of the top three or three to five picks?
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Do we still try to get a quarterback?
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: Yes?
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a bunch of them. I mean it's I mean,
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: I look, you want one. I mean I don't know four?
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: I mean four?
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: No, But if they if they drop down a few picks,
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: I want to move up and get it.
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Exactly, move up if you if there's a guy.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: I don't want to do what they did in twenty
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: one and just sit around and wait for the whatever
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: I have, someone will be available. Right.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: If you if there's a guy you love, do whatever
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: you have to do to get them. You know, that's
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: what I want to get.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: I mean, I just I haven't you know, really dove
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: into these guys and really developed an opinion I feel
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: passionate about. But that's where I hope to get, you know,
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: and by you know, January is to you know, actually
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: people call in and they're like, what do you think
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: I can't do that for two months with like.
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: Who do you think?
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: Like between this guy and this guy? I'm like, oh boy,
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: but I do you know this? This is my job.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: I mean, I enjoy it, but I just I want
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: to be an informed have it come with an opinion
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: that something like I think that's I respect most about.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: You know, some of the people that cover this team
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: are the people that watch the game themselves, have their
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: own opinions, and you know, you don't have to always
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: agree with them, like you know, Greg, I don't always
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: agree with with Greg, but I he's somebody who is
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: invested in it and is going to have an opinion,
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: and whether you agree or not, you have to respect
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: the work that goes in. So you know, I just
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: it's it's going to be a long few months, I
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: think leading up to the draft with all these you know, scenarios.
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: But I'm just curious how it's going to affect if
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: you're the third overall pick, because when we were fifteen,
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: there were so many things that could happen, you know,
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: like what is this guy going to fall through the
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: cracks or you know those things where if you're at
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: two or three, like we can't take a call every week,
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: So what do you think it too? Like I mean,
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: Drake may no, I think it's largely the same.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: That's why I hope Fred's right and that this gets
- 1:10:42Speaker 4: resolved quickly so we don't have to talk about it anymore.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: But like this whole like is Bill going or not? Yeah,
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: has gotten old to me weeks ago.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: Just one more point I was going to make was
- 1:10:52Speaker 5: just with with the things happening quickly. I mean, I'm sorry, Paul,
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: hold on.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: Hold on, sure, there's no tomatoes on.
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: Just does the Crafts put that letter out last year
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: like right away? I mean they feel like something has
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: to have whether it's a move or information or letting
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: the fans.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Know a lot of people feel by putting out that
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: letter they signed his you know, death certificate.
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: Yeah. Well no, I mean they set they set the expectations,
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: and I mean I think just making it explicit like here,
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: this is it. We're sending a letter like you know,
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: I mean it certainly did put Bill a little bit
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: in a corner.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: All right, We'll be back after Paul. EAT's right after this.

- 1:12:15Speaker 5: What's up everybody?
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: Bill Belichick spoke with the media yesterday.
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: Let's listen to what he had to say.
- 1:12:20Speaker 18: All right, corny to do, all right, well, all good
- 1:12:25Speaker 18: to You're gonna be back at it here back on
- 1:12:28Speaker 18: the field today. You know, Kansas City obviously good, great program.
- 1:12:34Speaker 18: You know Andy's done a say, a tremendous job there
- 1:12:38Speaker 18: as he did in Philadelphia. Really, you know, got a
- 1:12:42Speaker 18: good football team, well balanced team. You know, they're good
- 1:12:45Speaker 18: on defense, they're good on offense, they're good in the
- 1:12:48Speaker 18: kicking game. You know, Andy does a good job, really
- 1:12:52Speaker 18: well coached. So you know we're gonna have to you know,
- 1:12:56Speaker 18: play well, coach well, play well on every every aspect
- 1:12:59Speaker 18: of the game, you know, offensively, of course, it all
- 1:13:03Speaker 18: all starts with the quarterback. He's a great player, does
- 1:13:07Speaker 18: everything well. I can make all the throws, Athletic got
- 1:13:12Speaker 18: a lot of poise, clutch player. I can't say enough
- 1:13:18Speaker 18: about what he does. You know for their team, Checkos
- 1:13:22Speaker 18: done a good job running the ball for him, really
- 1:13:24Speaker 18: tough runner, good vision, good good contact balance. Obviously Kelsey
- 1:13:30Speaker 18: Rice has a merged in the passing game. So you
- 1:13:34Speaker 18: know inside the offensive line, you know with Joe Creed,
- 1:13:38Speaker 18: really really solid there. So you know, some of the
- 1:13:42Speaker 18: really good, really good offensive players all the way across
- 1:13:44Speaker 18: the board. You know, defensively, you know, Jones is a
- 1:13:49Speaker 18: major problem like he always has been. And you know,
- 1:13:54Speaker 18: they they have a good scheme. They they put a
- 1:13:57Speaker 18: lot of pressure on you with different looks, different it's
- 1:14:00Speaker 18: his getting boldened back that that certainly helps him. He's quality,
- 1:14:07Speaker 18: quality player, runs well, very instinctive. Kind of their defensive
- 1:14:11Speaker 18: citment caller, communicator uh does a good job. And good specialists,
- 1:14:18Speaker 18: uh you know, talentsend it was all pro hunter last year.
- 1:14:21Speaker 18: Bucker hasn't missed this year. So and then they had
- 1:14:27Speaker 18: the return game between Tony James Hardman who's out obviously,
- 1:14:32Speaker 18: but you know, I got a lot of a lot
- 1:14:35Speaker 18: of guys that have returned.
- 1:14:36Speaker 11: They're a good return team. That was a big playing
- 1:14:39Speaker 11: the Super Bowl.
- 1:14:40Speaker 18: With Tony's return, you want to set up the winning touchdown,
- 1:14:44Speaker 18: so they're explosive there too.
- 1:14:47Speaker 11: So again, really quality team.
- 1:14:53Speaker 18: That's that's balanced throughout offensive defense, special teams. Well, coach
- 1:14:57Speaker 18: presents some scheme problems and and they got some players
- 1:15:01Speaker 18: if you can ruin the game, if you you know,
- 1:15:04Speaker 18: if you can't take care of 'em.
- 1:15:05Speaker 11: So there we have it.
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: Where does Nick Duty show up.
- 1:15:12Speaker 11: The Usually he's the nickel corner.
- 1:15:16Speaker 18: He plays outside on base defense, uh, and then plays inside.
- 1:15:21Speaker 18: They're mostly in nickel, but not always. Occasionally he plays
- 1:15:24Speaker 18: outside nickels sometimes when they use three safeties, but most
- 1:15:28Speaker 18: of the time he's he's the slot defender.
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: Take a person.
- 1:15:36Speaker 11: Slot corner.
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: I mean, could.
- 1:15:40Speaker 11: They blitz him along?
- 1:15:40Speaker 18: He's been a per productive blitzer. You know, he's an
- 1:15:43Speaker 18: instinctive guy. If quick, it's been productive for him disguises im.
- 1:15:48Speaker 18: He's a smart player, you know, he plays smart in.
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: There for you guys at the coaching sadwise lost the
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: dry and they are you down too, so that you're
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: gonna killing hot.
- 1:16:02Speaker 10: Five three here, you know.
- 1:16:04Speaker 18: Groups of people to try to h Yeah, well, I
- 1:16:07Speaker 18: mean we you know, a lot of what we're doing
- 1:16:09Speaker 18: is what we've been doing. We're not gonna like put
- 1:16:11Speaker 18: a new full new sick games at this point, so
- 1:16:14Speaker 18: you know, we refined it the game plan and so yeah,
- 1:16:17Speaker 18: matorial handle the receivers and and uh you know Billies,
- 1:16:21Speaker 18: and we've got two offensive line.
- 1:16:23Speaker 11: Coaches, two receiver coaches, so it's actually, you know, I've
- 1:16:26Speaker 11: had another person to take care of both of those,
- 1:16:29Speaker 11: help take care of it.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: So I wanted to ask a question, speaking obviously for yourself,
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: in in your understanding, do you have an understanding that
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: Robert will not ask you to be back next year?
- 1:16:41Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm getting ready for Kansas City, That's what I'm doing.
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: Do you guys attempt to keep the movie when the
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: Ravens signed where we signed off the private score?
- 1:16:58Speaker 8: Uh?
- 1:16:59Speaker 18: Yeah, but I think that you know that they out
- 1:17:01Speaker 18: of you know, they sold them on the opportunity of
- 1:17:03Speaker 18: the offense, uh he and Lamar. So certainly their offense
- 1:17:10Speaker 18: suits elite better than probably any other offense in elite.
- 1:17:13Speaker 11: Bet it makes sense as quarterback. As quarterback.
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: Is it is your understandable that maybe more opportunity to
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: play for it.
- 1:17:23Speaker 10: Obviously he was doing a few different things here for
- 1:17:24Speaker 10: you guys, But does it make the opportunity to focus
- 1:17:27Speaker 10: on quarterback and that?
- 1:17:28Speaker 11: But yeah, you haven't talked them about this.
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:17:36Speaker 11: Do you feel like it's important?
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: I would just take them back to early in the
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: spring and summer.
- 1:17:41Speaker 11: You guys hid Trace makes early as part of their
- 1:17:43Speaker 11: quarterback group. Do you feel like it's important to have
- 1:17:46Speaker 11: it's a quarterback some mobility of lagers put his strengths.
- 1:17:52Speaker 11: There's any part of that position group some to look
- 1:17:56Speaker 11: at him.
- 1:17:56Speaker 18: You know, all players have their individual strengths and weaknesses,
- 1:17:59Speaker 18: and so try to get the ones that you know
- 1:18:04Speaker 18: have the best opportunity to be productive help your team.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: What you do not have boss play?
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: Okay, your intentions to bring new quarterback?
- 1:18:19Speaker 11: Yeah, we'll say it goes.
- 1:18:19Speaker 18: I'll talk to Matt and personnel staff and see what
- 1:18:23Speaker 18: our options are. I don't think it's a absolute necessity, no,
- 1:18:31Speaker 18: but yeah, we'll see it goes.
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: That we're all sleeping, cause how unusual is it's out
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: for a coach to.
- 1:18:42Speaker 11: Leave the staff at this point?
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: Says that more close the college game and the college schedule.
- 1:18:48Speaker 11: Yeah, there are not totally different schedules.
- 1:18:50Speaker 18: I mean, they've already had multiple major schools hire new coaches,
- 1:18:58Speaker 18: and obviously coordinators that are with those coaches are the
- 1:19:03Speaker 18: next step.
- 1:19:03Speaker 11: So it's just a different cycle.
- 1:19:07Speaker 18: The window opens and closes at a different time frame
- 1:19:11Speaker 18: than the NFL does.
- 1:19:16Speaker 11: You're just an a eger.
- 1:19:21Speaker 18: It's really a medical decision. Say that progresses. I would
- 1:19:27Speaker 18: say not this week.
- 1:19:31Speaker 11: The coach.
- 1:19:31Speaker 13: You're obviously a really man heavy defense, but you tend
- 1:19:33Speaker 13: to play man over half the time against Patrick Mahomes.
- 1:19:36Speaker 13: I was wondering what difficulties does he present when you're
- 1:19:39Speaker 13: trying to play zone coverage against him, especially with the
- 1:19:41Speaker 13: chemistry that he's got with Travis Kelsey.
- 1:19:48Speaker 18: Yeah, well, I mean there's a place for all different
- 1:19:51Speaker 18: types of coverages. So I would say, I don't know.
- 1:19:57Speaker 18: I don't think it's a great idea. Just sit on
- 1:19:59Speaker 18: one thing against Mahomes, no matter what that is.
- 1:20:05Speaker 11: But I don't know.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: Oh say will the rivers?
- 1:20:10Speaker 19: Do you want value?
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: I want?
- 1:20:13Speaker 17: Yeah?
- 1:20:13Speaker 11: I'm getting ready for Kansas City?
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Do well understanding and you're getting ready for Kansasity?
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: Have you and Robert discuss your future beyond the season?
- 1:20:25Speaker 11: Getting ready for Kansas City?
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: Working two?
- 1:20:37Speaker 11: Javis Kelsey, you know, he's.
- 1:20:43Speaker 18: Got a real good feel for how to play, how
- 1:20:47Speaker 18: to get open. He has a great chemistry with Mahomes.
- 1:20:51Speaker 18: A lot of his plays come on extended plays, loose plays.
- 1:20:56Speaker 18: I mean, he certainly gets his share of you know,
- 1:20:58Speaker 18: run around, get open and get the ball, but I
- 1:21:00Speaker 18: would say a lot of his plays don't come like that.
- 1:21:06Speaker 10: You know.
- 1:21:06Speaker 11: It's the play.
- 1:21:07Speaker 18: Starts and then something happens and then he adjusts the
- 1:21:10Speaker 18: route or Patrick scrambles and then he finds him. He's
- 1:21:16Speaker 18: a good job of getting open, and he's got good size,
- 1:21:18Speaker 18: is a m even when you cover him, there's a
- 1:21:20Speaker 18: place to throw the ball where the defender can't get it.
- 1:21:23Speaker 11: He's just big and a big catch raise.
- 1:21:25Speaker 18: He's good with the ball in his hands. He's good run,
- 1:21:27Speaker 18: raft to catch, and it's strong and stiff arm. And
- 1:21:30Speaker 18: you know, I wouldn't say like elusive, like a slot
- 1:21:33Speaker 18: receiver elusive, but he's hard got to tackle cause he's
- 1:21:35Speaker 18: big and athletic. So they get him on some design
- 1:21:39Speaker 18: plays bubble screens and things like that where they just
- 1:21:43Speaker 18: you know, almost hand 'em the ball, you know, and
- 1:21:45Speaker 18: he can make yards with it after the play like
- 1:21:48Speaker 18: other you know, like they do with other players. But
- 1:21:50Speaker 18: they there's a few of those for him too, obviously.
- 1:22:01Speaker 18: Uh yeah, I mean that's you know, they've done that
- 1:22:04Speaker 18: before you know obviously, Well, I don't know if that
- 1:22:08Speaker 18: was designed or not. I think it's kind of part
- 1:22:09Speaker 18: of the play. But yeah, he gotta you gotta be
- 1:22:16Speaker 18: careful on those those situations where the balls in the
- 1:22:19Speaker 18: middle of the field and a player kind of hangs
- 1:22:22Speaker 18: out outside on the sideline.
- 1:22:25Speaker 11: So yeah, that's a.
- 1:22:26Speaker 18: Good, well executed play. I mean from the on Kelsey's
- 1:22:30Speaker 18: part of it.
- 1:22:32Speaker 11: He'll go back to the ross others for a second.
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: Was this the case, you know where the team la
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: lat him lead, Like, would you have an opportunity to
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: to prevent him from pad to another program?
- 1:22:47Speaker 18: Well, technically no, it's college position. It's not No, it's
- 1:22:54Speaker 18: not an NFL team.
- 1:22:57Speaker 11: What made Christian Ellis someone who wanna work.
- 1:22:59Speaker 18: With Well, I mean we've seen him, you know, played
- 1:23:04Speaker 18: against him earlier in the year, kind of followed him
- 1:23:06Speaker 18: through the year. Depth the linebacker is always something, let's say,
- 1:23:10Speaker 18: you're always looking for. Every team's looking for, especially at
- 1:23:13Speaker 18: this time of year. So you had an opportunity to
- 1:23:16Speaker 18: get it. So yeah, look forward to working with him.
- 1:23:21Speaker 19: When someone accidentally threw the school play costumes, oh no,
- 1:23:26Speaker 19: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery.
- 1:23:29Speaker 19: Everyone could focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 1:23:33Speaker 19: now it's next for residential delivery.
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: Only and now great moments in.
- 1:23:42Speaker 11: History.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: Well, I have to leave you gents. Are you going
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: a tad early to do some of my television responsibilities?
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Is that why you get the shiny shirt on? Today?
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: I am going I'm going clubbing.
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: Yeah, be sure to turn into Paul Perilla today.
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: Probably not a great one to listen now, to be
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: sure not to turn it'll be it'd be like PAULI
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: the Dancing Bear, trying to keep yourself on an We'll
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: be listening. This will be a tough one. This is
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: one that I always fear when I come in on
- 1:24:07Speaker 4: Thursday morning, that Fred's waiting for me, like Jonathan, we
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: got to walk down to the west wind. Jonathan wants
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: to talk to you, so like that's always my fear.
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: I remember I saw Fred at about two o'clock last Thursday.
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: I was like, anybody say anything. He goes, what do
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: you mean? I go, you know about me? He goes
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: about what I go like being on the radio. No,
- 1:24:25Speaker 4: I go sounds good. Let's let's move it along.
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: You gotta be like you gotta be like the other
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: guys on cutdown day when they try to avoid the guy,
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: But which shirt?
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: Paul, Can I make one suggestion? Unbutton one button, put
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: on a coke spoon. I think you'll be right there,
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: perfect sure it for.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: That taking fashion advice from from this guy from the
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: Stained Police. That's another great moment from.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: Believe it or not. It's officially December and with the

- 1:25:11Speaker 1: furniture store of the New England Patriots. Talking about fashion,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Jackie and Abba rights in modeling his fashion chops. In
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: the spirit of the cold holiday season weather, Fred has
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: gone main cabin masters k by rocking a handsome plaid
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: flannel shirt. Meanwhile, the rest of the PU team is
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: wearing stretched out sweatshirts. This has to be the first
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: time that Fred has out fashioned the rest of the
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: PU team. Bravo to Fred, Shame on the rest of
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: the PU fashion slackers.
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: Me and Paula playing the hits here the quarters.
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: I would say four out of five days every week,
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: Alex has a sweater.
- 1:25:51Speaker 5: You you have a flannel that you have been wearing
- 1:25:54Speaker 5: more of lately.
- 1:25:56Speaker 4: No stains either, I don't see any stains.
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: Cold couple, right, am.
- 1:26:01Speaker 8: I right?
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: It's what.
- 1:26:05Speaker 9: People have been known to keep blankets at their deskuly some.
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: Of us have a heater underneath, but not wearing courtesy
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: of Matt Morrell.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: The hoodies, yeah, the hoodies, hoodie shirts.
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: Oh like a light like a light you light him
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: bavy shirt they gave us.
- 1:26:23Speaker 1: I like hoodie sweatshirts.
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: The only one in the building that didn't get it right.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: I was not in that day. I had a community
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: event where they gave them out.
- 1:26:30Speaker 9: So I I reached out to the woman at the
- 1:26:34Speaker 9: front desk that email sent the original email. I don't
- 1:26:37Speaker 9: know who she is, but I that was I wasn't
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: here today.
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: I knew there was something that was the problem. I
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: didn't know who the email I didn't know, so I
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: didn't feel.
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: Comfortable a little something this week. It look good, right?
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: They give me the token?
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: God, no token, any of the stuff you don't get an.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: I saw that they had like the little banners a
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: flag to the like, oh you guys, there's like army
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: naming stuff. And I was like, oh, I can guess
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: there was. I ran did I checked it out after
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: the meeting yesterday? What you don't have anything? You cut
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: me off?
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I was talking about your hood Yeah, I know.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: Oh, I'm sorry. Does anybody who listens to this show
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: you not know exactly the shirt you're talking about because
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: you've never brought it up before, including at the meeting
- 1:27:23Speaker 4: yesterday when I wasn't even wearing it.
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: But you know, I just don't think that people should
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: be wearing those unless you're a long distance runner and
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: you're actually running.
- 1:27:30Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: Well it's it's a weird thing because it's like, do
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: you need to keep.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: It warm or not? Like, no, I don't, but I
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: don't look like a remember a blue Man crew if
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: you put the hood up credible?
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: Fred, How do you feel about short?
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: I don't like those either.
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I was having a cover regular hoodie, right,
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: regular hoodie is good?
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: Do you wear the hood classic ups?
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: I'm very chilly?
- 1:27:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know why you would ever wear the
- 1:27:55Speaker 4: hood but.
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: I think I talked to talking about it. I had
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: one on this one.
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: It was cold cocooning myself.
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: You use the hood on my shirt, well not the shirt.
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: One because it doesn't have the draw strings, but it haspers.
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: It's just kind of loose. You look like a Jedi
- 1:28:08Speaker 5: or something. I talked to Chris Price though we like
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: we like. Bill Belichick started the short sleeve hoodie, like,
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: I mean, I know he cut it off, but like,
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: did you ever see short sleeve hoodie?
- 1:28:16Speaker 9: Like this doesn't even really make sense, like meatheads in
- 1:28:18Speaker 9: the gym, like short sleeve Jim Shark guys love.
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: Does TJ have a sleeveless hoodie with a hood but
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: no arms? That seems like he'd be like lifting in that.
- 1:28:27Speaker 4: You know he get his sweat on and his his
- 1:28:29Speaker 4: pump cover. Yeah he does pump cover. Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: I'm not I'm not willing to say that. I'm just
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: telling you that my psychotics.
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: N wear cut off shirts, but the cut off goes
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: down to like his oblea.
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: He does not.
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: He does not go Alex, my friend, isn't everything bomb equipment,
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: you know, with the with the tank tops with like
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: the strings that if they're not even straps, they're like strings. Like, dude,
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: I know you don't want to wear a shirt. Listen,
- 1:29:00Speaker 4: you're in great shape, you mean it. Just take the
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: shirt off. Who you fool?
- 1:29:04Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:29:04Speaker 4: They just get it? You want to show everybody? I'll
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: boff you are you know, I'm vip on swool. I
- 1:29:09Speaker 4: get it, bro, Just put a shirt on.
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: Never had that problem.
- 1:29:13Speaker 4: Just put a shirt. Me neither, But just put a
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: shirt on. That's all I ask? Is that asking too much?
- 1:29:18Speaker 8: Fred?
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: Wear a shirt?
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: And cameras should be banned from the gym?
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: Oh but like like people doing talking like things? Does
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: that happen?
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: Okay, Paul knows my gripes with the woman on the
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: phone in the sauna. Here we go complain about this
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: on the show.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: Phones absolutely should not be allowed.
- 1:29:34Speaker 9: About tripod girl filming herself in the sauna asking people
- 1:29:39Speaker 9: not to step in.
- 1:29:41Speaker 5: Oh, I would step in every time.
- 1:29:42Speaker 9: The saunas like eight bite you got to be Oh
- 1:29:44Speaker 9: you know My answer to that would be, yeah, how.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: Many get kicked out of the Springfield really Hot hair sauna?
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: My membership.
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: If someone actually sets a tripod up in a sauna.
- 1:29:55Speaker 9: I'm not even gonna blame it only on women, but
- 1:29:58Speaker 9: like the influence here girlies that have their tripod everywhere
- 1:30:02Speaker 9: they go.
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: I watched a girl set up a tripod outside of target.
- 1:30:06Speaker 9: She walked into the target, she walked out of the target,
- 1:30:10Speaker 9: got her tripod, she walks inside, puts her tripod down,
- 1:30:13Speaker 9: walks back out, walks in.
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: It's a shot a place where people are wearing clothing inappropriate.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: And also like, I.
- 1:30:23Speaker 9: Don't want to be in the background of your workout
- 1:30:27Speaker 9: video that's going on your TikTok.
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: It's you know, you gotta go and pick your nose
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: or something.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you pick a wedgie or you can't get a
- 1:30:35Speaker 3: full lift and.
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: Trying to max out.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: It doesn't worry selfie generation that's not happy, No little
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: listener and listener crime here Burton, Burton Island. I'd like
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: to second the notion or motion by Joe and Walpole.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: Most callers suck. There are a few select exceptions like
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: Eldred sp is okay, I guess, but most callers suck.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: When Willim and Philim gets on, that's when I start
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: fast forwarding. Listening to Fred reid emails is better, which,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: by the way, Fred, you should give lessons to Hardy
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: who seems to think that an email needs to be
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: read like he's acting in a stage production. That's him
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: making fun of me.
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: If you don't like the callers, then call in like
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: the people that call in, like they call in like.
- 1:31:17Speaker 5: If you don't like it, then do it yourself and
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: call him with a good call like I just the
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: people that call in, they support the show. They give
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: us stuff to talk about.
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Evan's back in a three quarter zip.
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: And then has turned and has returned, has turned.
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: All right, it's Evan.
- 1:31:42Speaker 4: It's a quarter zip, not a three quarters Oh that's true.
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: But anyways, I call him quarters, but a lot of
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: people do call him.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: Through well three quarters of the way up, three quarters
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: the quarter down.
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: Well, they could be argued both.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: It all depends on your perspectives.
- 1:31:56Speaker 5: You've got about half of the quarter. You got about
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: an eighth zip though right now, because you've only got it's.
- 1:32:02Speaker 12: It's a little chilli out there, I'll tell you, dude,
- 1:32:04Speaker 12: it's a little cold.
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: Fans are a little freezing. Yeah, I like it all right, anyways,
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: I digress.
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:32:11Speaker 12: The Patriots back on the practice field on Wednesday for
- 1:32:14Speaker 12: for Chiefs Week and some good news I think for
- 1:32:17Speaker 12: people that are just looking for some players to pop.
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: Oh, Mike, you got your guy back. Sorry, but I
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: hope he does not get popped. I'm gonna be concerned
- 1:32:26Speaker 4: about that.
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:32:27Speaker 12: So Tomorow Douglas was back at Patriots practice today. If
- 1:32:30Speaker 12: you didn't get my awesome pun, then I just dropped
- 1:32:33Speaker 12: in there.
- 1:32:34Speaker 6: So he was back.
- 1:32:35Speaker 12: The only player absent from the fifty three men roster
- 1:32:38Speaker 12: was Ramandre Stevenson remains out with that ankle injury. That's
- 1:32:41Speaker 12: not that surprising. But everybody else was there. Lengthy list
- 1:32:45Speaker 12: though of practice squad, A lot of practice squad movement, obviously,
- 1:32:48Speaker 12: Molie Cuttingham going Baltimore. Calvin Munson also off the practice squad.
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: Uh you go Miami act. That guy's just been going
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: back and forth between Miami and Boston for like five years.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: I would want to go to Miami right now too.
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: Uh So, I guess Michael Wright at some point was
- 1:33:04Speaker 4: was poached off the practice squad too. He wasn't there
- 1:33:07Speaker 4: and not the kicker.
- 1:33:10Speaker 12: And Tristan Hill, who we don't know could just be
- 1:33:14Speaker 12: sick absent for some reason. But he's also so four
- 1:33:17Speaker 12: guys not missing from the practice squad. Now, I know
- 1:33:19Speaker 12: some of those are explained obviously, but.
- 1:33:21Speaker 5: I knew they had at least three spots right now.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so Booty and Douglas.
- 1:33:26Speaker 12: Yes, so Booty was there for most of last week,
- 1:33:30Speaker 12: if not all of last week, and so and DeVante
- 1:33:32Speaker 12: Parker has also been practicing but just didn't play. So
- 1:33:37Speaker 12: Pop was technically the only one that returned. But all
- 1:33:41Speaker 12: those guys being back again and still practicing, I guess
- 1:33:44Speaker 12: it is a good sign. But like I said, I
- 1:33:46Speaker 12: think we all just would like to see.
- 1:33:47Speaker 20: Get I just think we all'd like to see to
- 1:33:51Speaker 20: Mario Douglas, assuming he's healthy and has clear protocol, because
- 1:33:55Speaker 20: that's a young player that might bring some excitement to
- 1:33:58Speaker 20: the team and might be a part of the future
- 1:34:00Speaker 20: of the team.
- 1:34:00Speaker 12: And it's been kind of a bummer that we haven't
- 1:34:03Speaker 12: been able to watch him develop and play the last
- 1:34:06Speaker 12: couple of weeks.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, good stuff, there we go. Now, I've
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: got forty three degrees on my watch. How did it
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: feel it's cold?
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: It's cold?
- 1:34:15Speaker 12: Yeah, I would say it it feels colder than forty
- 1:34:17Speaker 12: three because of the wind. But when it's not windy,
- 1:34:20Speaker 12: it was it was sunny, and it was you know,
- 1:34:22Speaker 12: for Boston this time of year, it was relatively warm,
- 1:34:24Speaker 12: but the wind was was pretty bad.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Was Tom Kurran there?
- 1:34:27Speaker 11: He was not.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Was there a lot of talk about that? There was no.
- 1:34:32Speaker 12: There was more talk about you know, first I get
- 1:34:34Speaker 12: ambushed about Joe Al declaring for the draft, and you know,
- 1:34:37Speaker 12: Joe Al, Marvin Harrison Junior.
- 1:34:38Speaker 4: Here here we go. You know, was it Alex bar
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: Maybe it was Evan, it was it was Alex in
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: the interns, you know, and I just get ambushed by that.
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: And then and then did you see what they did
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: to him on nine eight point five? So I guess,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: like I don't he was doing a solo show. I think, yeah,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: And so he decided he's going to call him.
- 1:35:07Speaker 4: It was really bad.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: People can call in and ask any question they want.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: I'm the bartender, and I'm gonna, like, you know, talk
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: to them, and like, I don't know if they were
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: punking him for some One guy called, well, you know,
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: I really want to come out to my family that
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: I'm gay, but I'm having.
- 1:35:26Speaker 6: For this.
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: That's it's like, uh, that's kind of like a serious.
- 1:35:33Speaker 5: Not equipped to deal with that.
- 1:35:35Speaker 4: I think the tender.
- 1:35:38Speaker 12: I I don't think that Jess and I have ever
- 1:35:41Speaker 12: laughed so hard at a piece of radio in that
- 1:35:43Speaker 12: because I as well as I know Alex, I.
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: Know how uncomfortable he was in that moment, and it
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: was that was funny, that was hilarious. I heard Fred
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: played it the next morning. I guess after it happened.
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: That's how I got on my Yeah, so that they
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: played it the next morning and they clipping it, and
- 1:36:01Speaker 4: then the higher ups like quickly put a keba on
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: like and it was now that when Alex host shows,
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: he's never allowed to do that again. Not that it
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: was his fault, but obviously you just.
- 1:36:12Speaker 5: Got to lean it.
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: It's a neat idea you get.
- 1:36:16Speaker 5: Just like you get real serious and you be honest
- 1:36:18Speaker 5: about what you think, Like you're like Frasier.
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: You know I'm listening.
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: Yeah, you know your parents will love you no matter what, right,
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: will they? I mean you don't know though, you can't
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: like I mean, it's hard to like say things like
- 1:36:28Speaker 5: that because you don't know what the person's situation, what
- 1:36:31Speaker 5: if their parents are you don't hate that stuff.
- 1:36:33Speaker 12: Like right, there was one item of grousing, though this
- 1:36:37Speaker 12: was a legitimate grouse grousing, so they printed the rosters differently.
- 1:36:42Speaker 12: Today you can't cross it off.
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: I think the media doesn't like his change to their routine.
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: The miracle was on the left and there was on
- 1:36:51Speaker 4: the right. It was just there was no there was
- 1:36:53Speaker 4: no nu merit.
- 1:36:54Speaker 12: It was all one big column and they blew it
- 1:36:57Speaker 12: up so that everything was really really big, and so
- 1:37:01Speaker 12: it made it taking attendance harder. And when I kid
- 1:37:04Speaker 12: you not, multiple people went out to just and p
- 1:37:08Speaker 12: R and said we got to go back to the
- 1:37:10Speaker 12: other way, and it was multiple people, and so of course, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: It's amazing. She threw Aaron under the bus rightfully.
- 1:37:20Speaker 8: So.
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: It's just his fault making the decision.
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: It's just amazing that people would would actually grouse to
- 1:37:29Speaker 4: use Fred's word about that. I gotta be honest with you.
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: I different it was annoying. I was like that alphabetic
- 1:37:38Speaker 4: No it was it was still numerical. But usually there's
- 1:37:40Speaker 4: alphabetical column and then there's a numerical column. The numerical
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: column is really nice and thin, very and you can
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: just fold the page over and go. This is like
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: it was one big middle column of just numerica, which
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: is the same stock before. Did it by accident? It
- 1:38:01Speaker 4: would be my guests, It wasn't the paper though.
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: They changed the way they do the clips too.
- 1:38:06Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: Yeah, So I have a question for you. Log in
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: everything I don't Well, okay, I can't log in.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: You because wait, wait, people don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:38:19Speaker 5: So you have to explain.
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: Okay. So we've had clips provided by newspapers media relations
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: department since I've been here nineteen ninety nine. They used
- 1:38:28Speaker 4: to be paper copies. Now they're all electronic, and they
- 1:38:31Speaker 4: used to just give you all the stories. You would
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: scroll in one document. All the stories would.
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: Be there pdf, your local news outlet about I.
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: Would say, a month, month and a half ago, would
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: you guys say? They changed to a links format where
- 1:38:44Speaker 4: each outlet would have a header, you know, ESPN Boston,
- 1:38:47Speaker 4: and then they would have two, you know, maybe two
- 1:38:49Speaker 4: or three links that appeared and it's all Patriots related
- 1:38:52Speaker 4: content obviously, so you have to click on the link,
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: which I have no problem with. But the ones that
- 1:38:56Speaker 4: are pay they provided a log in for that I
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: cannot use.
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: Login doesn't work for you.
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: There's only one I've tried.
- 1:39:08Speaker 9: I was going to say, did you miss the log
- 1:39:09Speaker 9: Inhe the login info on the header of the page.
- 1:39:12Speaker 5: No I did.
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: Stacy James is the media relations director and he provides
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: his log in for it, and it doesn't work for me.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: Well maybe there's a limit to how many.
- 1:39:22Speaker 9: People I don't know that could in all seriousness, like
- 1:39:26Speaker 9: with the Athletic they might have that up on like
- 1:39:30Speaker 9: not a fire.
- 1:39:31Speaker 4: That's not one I've ever tried to get on. But
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: I have tried to get on the Herald and I
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: can't do it. Can't get on our buddy Greg for BSJ.
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: I can't get on any of them.
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: It's a thankless job to get those clips together. We
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: used to have a personal guy here who will go nameless,
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: who insisted that you know, I'm on the treadmill at
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: six a m. And I want the clips.
- 1:39:53Speaker 4: So there was one famous day now and I won't
- 1:39:56Speaker 4: I'm not going to use the football side of it,
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: but Andy, yes, one back in the year two thousand.
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: Andy Hart, he was the Media Relation's seasonal intern and
- 1:40:08Speaker 4: he was responsible for getting the clips. And it was
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: just like Fred said, like this is like kind of
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: even before really you know, everybody knowing exactly how to
- 1:40:19Speaker 4: do it online, like you had to, like some of
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: the times you had to actually get the actual clip
- 1:40:23Speaker 4: of the paper and make a photo copy. And Andy's
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: like making copies of the thing, and you know, the
- 1:40:29Speaker 4: xerox is like going crazy, the paper jam and you know,
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: it's just like you know, low PC letter. It's like
- 1:40:35Speaker 4: all of these stereotypes all on one. Andy's like he's
- 1:40:39Speaker 4: got doors open on the on the xerox. He's got
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: like ink stains on his face. He's all flustered, he's sweating.
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: It's like six ' ten and he gets this comment
- 1:40:51Speaker 4: from the guy that Andy's that Fred just alluded to,
- 1:40:54Speaker 4: we're gonna get clips at any point today. And you
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: know Andy, Andy has that jaw that juts out just
- 1:40:59Speaker 4: like yeah, and like literally every lever of this, you know,
- 1:41:07Speaker 4: think about like printers now they're all kind of streamlined.
- 1:41:10Speaker 4: They used to be these beheamoths.
- 1:41:12Speaker 5: You guys, do you have a printer in your area
- 1:41:14Speaker 5: and something working?
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: I never use it. It's not working anymore.
- 1:41:17Speaker 5: I had to put a ticket in today. Did you
- 1:41:19Speaker 5: really fascinate?
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: I have to send everything to Matista print out.
- 1:41:23Speaker 4: Really, you can't connect to the printer? No, have you
- 1:41:27Speaker 4: ever tried to the printer in the mail. Have you
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: ever tried to connect to this I have, and the its.
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: The worst computer in this whole organization. I can't figure
- 1:41:36Speaker 3: this out.
- 1:41:37Speaker 4: Printers, I thought, And he has told that story many times,
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: and he says, I thought for sure that my my
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: career in the NFL was going to be very, very brief,
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: because he did want to fight the person that was
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: looking for.
- 1:41:51Speaker 5: The And while I'm excited about my future A Dighton Rehobin,
- 1:41:55Speaker 5: that was the first time he left.
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: When I when I hear the word printer, I think
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: a three letters P d F. They're really good and
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: you never have to print a thing good for you.
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: I don't understand.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: You can just read, convert it, you print to PDF
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: and it creates. But at some point, if you want
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: a paper copy, you got to print it.
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, if you don't want
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: to pay per copy, that's fine.
- 1:42:17Speaker 5: Sometimes some people the feel of it.
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: I don't. I don't print out a whole lot, but
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: I do print out the game books. It's just I
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: like to have it, you know, I don't. I don't
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: want to look on a phone.
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: I feel like and this is not a shot like
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: I just it feels like a shot.
- 1:42:32Speaker 4: No, I just like that's fine, you could take shots.
- 1:42:34Speaker 12: No, I just like I I didn't grow up that
- 1:42:37Speaker 12: way because I grew up with everything in you know,
- 1:42:41Speaker 12: on computers and stuff.
- 1:42:42Speaker 3: Like that, don't you did? I use a printer my
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: whole life.
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: Well, I use printers, but like for school stuff.
- 1:42:49Speaker 12: But like in terms, I've been like, I feel like
- 1:42:51Speaker 12: I just grew up in a time where every like
- 1:42:53Speaker 12: I just read everything on my phone, and that's how
- 1:42:55Speaker 12: I how I in.
- 1:42:56Speaker 5: Your will you like also write on your phone and
- 1:43:00Speaker 5: you'll just like be sitting there pane Like.
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: I literally think you writing right into the system to
- 1:43:08Speaker 4: me is insane. My best work on my phone, Oh
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: my god, I'll be.
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: On a yellow line.
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: Has a secretary.
- 1:43:21Speaker 4: But I should always write in drafts.
- 1:43:22Speaker 3: You gotta do Google doc you get screw my pocket.
- 1:43:26Speaker 5: I haven't yet, well you know, but I almost have.
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: So you guys all do Google docs. I hate those two.
- 1:43:33Speaker 12: Well I do Google docs because I can. If you
- 1:43:35Speaker 12: are on a Google doc, then you can get it anywhere,
- 1:43:37Speaker 12: so I can get it on my phone or I
- 1:43:38Speaker 12: can get it on my computer. So because I write
- 1:43:41Speaker 12: on my phone, sometimes I.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Would never have a Are they printers unfiltered?
- 1:43:47Speaker 4: I just use word but I wouldn't get it on
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: my phone. But I have no desire to ever read
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: anything on.
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: This A claimant says the Hello group, I see a
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: young woman in your group who is not Megan or Tamara.
- 1:43:58Speaker 13: Who is she.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: Only contest watch a lot?
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: But that's Alex.
- 1:44:05Speaker 4: Let's calm down, Yeah, relax?
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: How much is she dominating? But how was this week?
- 1:44:11Speaker 4: Girl?
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: I didn't I didn't have my pick. I have no
- 1:44:13Speaker 5: idea how I have it?
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: Calculated it?
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: This week a bad week?
- 1:44:17Speaker 13: Umm?
- 1:44:19Speaker 11: Lead though?
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: I need it. You know what you get for for
- 1:44:23Speaker 5: winning this rights? Nothing?
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: We're almost to the point where, really she can't be
- 1:44:28Speaker 4: caught because there's not enough games that you're going to
- 1:44:30Speaker 4: be different and.
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: Go to get her a crown or something.
- 1:44:33Speaker 4: It's hard unless you pull a Hardy. You could, like
- 1:44:37Speaker 4: Hardy could catch her because Hardy would wait every game
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: that you pick. He would just pick the opposite Yeah,
- 1:44:41Speaker 4: but then yeah, but he would assuming she's going to
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: be wrong. But he would roll the dice like most
- 1:44:46Speaker 4: people pick it straight right? And how many games are
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: we going to have different?
- 1:44:49Speaker 16: Right?
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: It's Hardy taking over that morning show.
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: He was on Monday and Tuesday today there was your girl.
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: Kendrick Middleton was on. Did you listen worried for Hardy?
- 1:44:59Speaker 4: I did. They were in a conversation that I was
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: like that, Yeah, God, I.
- 1:45:03Speaker 5: Listened for a little bit. She watches every every game twice.
- 1:45:07Speaker 4: Okay you.
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: Alex and Mount Holly writes in I just wanted to
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: add in my two cents on the current news about Bill.
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: I knew it was just speculation when there was no
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: PU emergency podcast. I only trust you to break news
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: of that stature. Also, I'm fine with winning a few
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: more games, just as long as we stay in the
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: top ten and pick either a tackle or Jaden Daniels.
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: We're on to Kansas City. Let's go win a rock
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: fight this weekend.
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: When was the last PU emergency podcast? I feel like
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: it might have been Cam Newton, I think No.
- 1:45:43Speaker 1: I think it was when we had the big free
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: agent hall Man.
- 1:45:46Speaker 12: No, didn't you guys didn't I wasn't here, But didn't
- 1:45:49Speaker 12: you guys do one for one of the free agent
- 1:45:51Speaker 12: signings this year?
- 1:45:52Speaker 4: I feel like juju? Who was it? Bill O'Brien, Bill O'Brien,
- 1:45:58Speaker 4: I think so we did.
- 1:45:59Speaker 5: Do we just come down here and do ye guys
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: are down in the studio?
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: Studio? Yeah?
- 1:46:03Speaker 10: Was I there?
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: We wouldn't do it without you, Fred, I would We
- 1:46:07Speaker 4: might have to dust them off for this. I wouldn't
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: even think about it. And I are just going to
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: live here.
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: Ray in Pennsylvania. How do you feel about Sean Payton
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: as Coach of the year. Denver was left for dead
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: after the seventy point beat down and he has them
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: back in contention? Ut does Alex know the picture tomorrow?
- 1:46:26Speaker 5: She does get double.
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: Double done a good job.
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: Let's see how it finishes. I'm curious to watch that
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: game on on Christmas Eve.
- 1:46:34Speaker 4: Their their defense. You have to be the only person
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: in New England that's curious to watch these games.
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: I got to make something out of the Paul.
- 1:46:40Speaker 4: We're going to be It's terrible. Yes, Saturday rebad on
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: the Saturday night games. Okay, right, did I miss it?
- 1:46:49Speaker 4: But it's it's bad on the whole. I think Saturday
- 1:46:51Speaker 4: Night is at least I think it might be Denver.
- 1:46:53Speaker 4: I think Denver might be playing. I'll look it up. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: three Saturday games Broncos. That's okay.
- 1:47:01Speaker 10: Game?
- 1:47:01Speaker 5: Oh Okay, I do like when this time of your arrived,
- 1:47:03Speaker 5: Saturday games start coming and you get a little bit
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: more football spread out. It's like as well as.
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: I'm not if we have a game like if I
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: would be bummed out if we if that game stayed
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: on Monday, because that would have affected my red zone.
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: How's it gonna work with the college football playoff when
- 1:47:17Speaker 5: they expanded for a couple more weeks and I mean
- 1:47:19Speaker 5: that that might eat into these NFL games a little bit.
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: That's a good point. Yeah, I mean it depends when
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: they have.
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: The games, probably in conjunction, but that might be.
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: It might be pretty cool like they put them right
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: in like last Saturday. Would there have been a slate
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: of playoff games that wouldn't affect anything?
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Shady in Houston. I find it hilariously Evan of
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: all people thinks perty is a product of the system.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: While he sat on his high horse telling everyone MATC.
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: Jones could be a top fifteen quarterback because he used
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: to throw three yard passes DeVante Smith and Waddell who
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: took it eighty yards to the house. We've seen how
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: their offense look with Jimmy g and it's not remotely
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: the same. No one slanted Mahomes when he had Tyree
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: Kill and Kelsey inflating his stats in twenty eighteen. Evan
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: and his metrics are the lamest introduction to football. No
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: one cares about EPA and QBR. Just watch the game,
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: don't you know?
- 1:48:12Speaker 12: It's true because I never watched the game, Fred, I never,
- 1:48:16Speaker 12: not once, have I ever watched a football game in
- 1:48:18Speaker 12: my life.
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: So that's that's a good point. I can't I can't
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: fight back on.
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: That, Ellen Wisconsin. So since Evan hates quarterbacks with good
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: talent and coaching, he should love Savvy since he has neither.
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: Wow, lots of emails about.
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: This, Well you need a macallite version of the party
- 1:48:35Speaker 5: at this point.
- 1:48:37Speaker 4: It's just kind of a bit with me and Brock
- 1:48:39Speaker 4: Purty like it's not that serious.
- 1:48:41Speaker 12: But no, I mean the first email like that's That's
- 1:48:45Speaker 12: always been my whole point with mac Jones. It's like, yeah,
- 1:48:47Speaker 12: I think if you had him surrounded by the talent
- 1:48:50Speaker 12: that Brock Party has, he'd look better.
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: Chocker that I know.
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: That's but you'd be similarly railing that mac Jones is
- 1:48:55Speaker 5: not the MVP if he was surrounding, Yes, just.
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: Like I don't think that parties the MVP and two
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: is not the MVP, and you know all those types of.
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: Guys Joel and san Antonio. First, thank for all you
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: do for us faithful Patriots fans. I have a couple
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: of thoughts looking ahead at the draft, Jade and Daniels
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: stock is probably skyrocketing now that he won the Heisman.
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: That being said, could there be a scenario or path
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: where we could potentially trade down from number two, assuming
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: that's where we end up, and be able to pick
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: Daniels and a top tier wide receiver in the first
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: round kind of what the Texans did, just not in
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: the top five, or do you all think that this
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: would be an impossibility now that he's a Heisman winner.
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: There's something about that kid that makes me think he's
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: gonna be really, really good. Would like to hear what
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: you're think.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: And just draft him, just draft him right, like, this
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: is the thing, like this is what Paul, but no,
- 1:49:47Speaker 5: this is it, right, Like, just if you love him
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: that much, then draft them and look at they might
- 1:49:52Speaker 5: have the thirty fourth overall pick, so you like, there's
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: not that much difference to go from more like, I
- 1:49:56Speaker 5: don't know what you're pitching, like thirty four up to
- 1:49:58Speaker 5: twenty five, like they're a good receiver is available in
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: the second round receiver draft.
- 1:50:02Speaker 12: I would also say that the Texans had both picks.
- 1:50:05Speaker 12: They didn't They didn't trade for a first round pick
- 1:50:07Speaker 12: during that they came into the draft with two first
- 1:50:10Speaker 12: round picks.
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: All right, you say it's a really good uh oh
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: you said receiver draft. Oh, I'm sorry that.
- 1:50:16Speaker 4: It's also a really good quarterback. Okay, So so I knew.
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: I knew that's what he wanted. I should probably watch
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: the game compare compared to like, are you lowering the bar? No,
- 1:50:29Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 1:50:30Speaker 12: I mean I think that in this class there's five
- 1:50:34Speaker 12: quarterbacks that are probably top forty guys if you include
- 1:50:37Speaker 12: bo Nicks in the conversation with the rest of.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: The would you have said that three years ago when
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: Mack was drafted.
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: It's a good question. I was trying to think about
- 1:50:46Speaker 4: this yesterday a little bit because like the Bear, the
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: Bears with Justin Fields, I think are in a really
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: tough spot because in this draft class, and I haven't
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: done like full deep dives into all of the quarterbacks yet,
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: but in this draft class. If you were to put
- 1:51:01Speaker 4: Ohio State Justin Fields into this class, he's probably at
- 1:51:07Speaker 4: worst the second or third quarterback.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: What do we say?
- 1:51:10Speaker 5: But but I think you comp them out too to
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: like Trey Lance had played like one season you had
- 1:51:14Speaker 5: had COVID.
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: I didn't like Wilson. I didn't like that Wilson.
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: I mean the other two miss right, you had three
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: of the top five guys were very small sample sizes,
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: and I don't think that's really what you have this year.
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: You have, well, I don't think you're gonna have that again.
- 1:51:28Speaker 12: In general, I think that because of COVID, no, because
- 1:51:31Speaker 12: of the transfer portal and all that these guys are
- 1:51:33Speaker 12: staying in college for six years. I think the one
- 1:51:35Speaker 12: big thing that that's also made it difficult is because
- 1:51:38Speaker 12: of the transfer portal, everybody's got an all star team,
- 1:51:41Speaker 12: like everybody's thrown to a bunch of studs.
- 1:51:43Speaker 4: Like everyone.
- 1:51:44Speaker 12: You could make the mac Jones argument for pretty much
- 1:51:47Speaker 12: everybody besides Drake May in this class, like everybody, and
- 1:51:49Speaker 12: even Drake May has Ted Walker, who's going to be
- 1:51:52Speaker 12: a top fifty, top seventy five receiver. But in general,
- 1:51:55Speaker 12: like Michael Pennix, is surrounded by a great team at Washington.
- 1:51:58Speaker 12: You know, Caleb Williams is at USC He's been around
- 1:52:02Speaker 12: five star talent in his whole career there. In terms
- 1:52:05Speaker 12: of you know, Bo Nicks at Oregon, Troy Franklin is
- 1:52:08Speaker 12: going to be a first round pick, his top receiver.
- 1:52:10Speaker 12: So you look at all these quarterbacks, and I think
- 1:52:12Speaker 12: that's going to be tough for people. Is separating, you
- 1:52:15Speaker 12: know that sort of thing. And I would say that
- 1:52:18Speaker 12: this quarterback class is better than last year's. I think
- 1:52:21Speaker 12: they're more short of things than last year's. Like last
- 1:52:24Speaker 12: year you had young and you had Strau. But like
- 1:52:27Speaker 12: like a guy like Anthony Richardson is like a second
- 1:52:29Speaker 12: round pick in this class to.
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: Me, Okay, but all right, that's good. Need that comp
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: Dean in Scottsdale. The notion that quarterbacks have to be
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: runners is, in my opinion, overblown.
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: We've been hearing that, Frost, I just stop it for
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: a second. You can continue. I don't think and speaking
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: for myself, but I think you guys agree. I don't
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: think anybody thinks they need to be runners. They need
- 1:52:51Speaker 4: to be mobile. Yeah, yeah, they need to be the
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: same thing.
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: We've been hearing that for twenty plus years. Here's the
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: partial list of quarterbacks not known for their nobil mobility
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: who could still be very effective.
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: Tom Brady, Okay, he wasn't effective the last year he
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: played ahead.
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: Matt Stafford, Joe Flacco, Kirk Cousins to attack.
- 1:53:09Speaker 4: Joe Flacco has been I'm the president of the Joe
- 1:53:12Speaker 4: Flacco fan club. He hasn't been effective in ten years, uh.
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins, Tua, Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Jared Goff, and
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: Brock Purdy.
- 1:53:21Speaker 4: And most of those guys are mobile that he just made.
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: Stafford's definitely mobile. Stafford's mobile now he's old now, but
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: he was very mobile. Not a runner, but mobile. Tua
- 1:53:30Speaker 4: definitely mobile. Jared Goff mobile, throws, makes a lot of
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: throws outside the pocket. Brock Purdy is really mobile.
- 1:53:41Speaker 5: Really mobile. Evan, he's fantastic.
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: I didn't say he's like running around. I didn't say
- 1:53:46Speaker 4: he's mahomes. I'm talking about mobility. These guys are not
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: pocket passers, right.
- 1:53:51Speaker 12: I think that when you're watching a lot of these
- 1:53:53Speaker 12: guys in the draft. Like a caller had called in
- 1:53:55Speaker 12: about Drake may and I I had to watched a
- 1:53:57Speaker 12: little bit of him this week, and I think the
- 1:53:59Speaker 12: biggest thing that you look at is like who are
- 1:54:01Speaker 12: the guys? So I think everybody in New England needs
- 1:54:04Speaker 12: to like recalibrate one thing, and that is throwing off
- 1:54:07Speaker 12: your back foot isn't bad for everybody, right, Like some
- 1:54:09Speaker 12: people some people can the drake make right, Some people
- 1:54:12Speaker 12: can throw off their back their back foot because of
- 1:54:15Speaker 12: their arm, and some people like Mac Jones can't throw
- 1:54:17Speaker 12: off his back foot. So a lot of these guys
- 1:54:19Speaker 12: now can succeed off platform, whether that's running or that's
- 1:54:23Speaker 12: off their back foot, because there's pressure in the pocket
- 1:54:26Speaker 12: and they have that kind of arm talent and that
- 1:54:28Speaker 12: kind of just athleticism. And I think that trade because
- 1:54:31Speaker 12: of how good pass rushers are around the league. Now,
- 1:54:34Speaker 12: you have to be able to survive when the conditions
- 1:54:37Speaker 12: aren't perfect.
- 1:54:38Speaker 4: It's tough to do. There are very few quarterbacks I
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: think that are actual runners. Like Lamar Jackson's a runner,
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: Josh Allen is a runner. Yeah, I don't think. I don't.
- 1:54:49Speaker 4: I wouldn't put Patrick Mahomes in the run. Jalen hurts absolutely,
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: I don't. I wouldn't put like Patrick Mahomes in the
- 1:54:55Speaker 4: runner a category. Now he runs right and he's mobile,
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: but I don't they don't like to me a runner
- 1:55:01Speaker 4: is I'm going to devise this play design. This play
- 1:55:04Speaker 4: is his own read with the thought that you're gonna
- 1:55:05Speaker 4: keep it. It's an intentional quarterback run. Yeah, and it's
- 1:55:08Speaker 4: only a handful of guys that dude.
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: And most of them have had this storyline up. They
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: need to learn how to pass, like Lamar Josh Allen.
- 1:55:14Speaker 5: I mean, all those guys where they need to learn
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: how to be in the pocket and not immediately the
- 1:55:18Speaker 5: first guy is an open tucket and go.
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: That's Jaden Daniels.
- 1:55:21Speaker 12: But you be talk's My only concern with him is
- 1:55:23Speaker 12: like Jaden Daniels against Alabama. You know that's another thing,
- 1:55:28Speaker 12: is like you gotta watch him against the top competition.
- 1:55:30Speaker 12: I'm trying to do that more because through the Florida
- 1:55:32Speaker 12: State shut down, what Jaden Daniels does against Georgia State
- 1:55:36Speaker 12: does nothing for me, right, Like Florida State Alabama against Alabama.
- 1:55:41Speaker 12: Alabama played a lot of match coverage in that game,
- 1:55:43Speaker 12: and he just took off every like he would just
- 1:55:46Speaker 12: run and he ran for like two hundred yards in
- 1:55:49Speaker 12: the game. Like it's something ridiculous, But is that a
- 1:55:51Speaker 12: sustainable way to live in the NFL? If if something
- 1:55:55Speaker 12: isn't there initially and you're just taking off all the time,
- 1:55:58Speaker 12: you know that that I think is something to look.
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: Wrapping up the email says does speed elusiveness help, of course,
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: but offensive system, knowledge of the offense, experience, pocket awareness,
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: and quick decision making are equally important. Who says it's not?
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: Thanks love the show and the fact that you all
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: are allowed to speak freely. What do we say?
- 1:56:18Speaker 4: I hope not too freely, but thank you? Yeah, I
- 1:56:21Speaker 4: like the email. I just I would disagree a little
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: bit with what you feel is mobility and not I
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: think a lot of those guys. Joe Flacco the first
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: five eight years of his career was pretty mobile. He
- 1:56:35Speaker 4: could run a little bit, but not a designed run.
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: It's not Lamar Jackson now. Like he went to Denver
- 1:56:42Speaker 4: was nothing, he went to the Jets was nothing. He's
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: bounced around the league to a bunch of different teams.
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: He had a couple of good games the last two weeks.
- 1:56:50Speaker 5: It was kind of fun watching cool Like just how
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: I like Flacco? You keep appreciating it.
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna tell you if when he keeps playing, it
- 1:56:57Speaker 4: will go back to Flacco. He's had a flac Old
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: pick in both of those games.
