- 0:00Speaker 1: A great columnist and culture. Make sure you're following her
- 0:02Speaker 1: on Twitter. Even better substack, where she's got her column
- 0:06Speaker 1: and videos, podcasts, interviews, all kinds of stuff and culture
- 0:10Speaker 1: dot substack dot com and culture.
- 0:13Speaker 2: How you doing fantastic? How are you Mark Simmon?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Excellent? I thought the President's speech last night was maybe
- 0:19Speaker 1: one of the top three or four speeches he's ever given.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I totally agree. It was magnificent. Again the Trump I've
- 0:29Speaker 2: been waiting for, and it reminded me what I like
- 0:33Speaker 2: about him. He is just so thoroughly from the heart American.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And when the Democrats would would not acknowledge Americans killed
- 0:45Speaker 2: by illegal aliens and a few other times, and he
- 0:48Speaker 2: just said, these people are crazy, and you won't stand
- 0:52Speaker 2: for that. It is the reaction of just a normal
- 0:57Speaker 2: human being, a normal American anyway, really illustrates that they,
- 1:03Speaker 2: the Democrats, really hate our country.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You're talking about this moment here.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Nobody says, up, these people are crazy.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Now, you're not supposed to talk like that when you're
- 1:12Speaker 1: a president. But you're right, it's great. He's a real person.
- 1:15Speaker 1: He's not a politician.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Yes, And I think you're not supposed to root for
- 1:20Speaker 2: Americans to be killed by foreigners when you're an elected
- 1:25Speaker 2: member of Congress. As long as we're talking about things
- 1:28Speaker 2: you shouldn't do.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Now, a lot of this what he did were traps
- 1:34Speaker 1: that he was setting for the Democrats, and they've from
- 1:38Speaker 1: last night it wasn't the real purpose of the speech
- 1:40Speaker 1: was to get tons of video clips to use in
- 1:43Speaker 1: campaign ads against them in the midterms. How why did
- 1:46Speaker 1: they fall into every trap he said?
- 1:50Speaker 2: Uh, if it was a trap, I mean, it just
- 1:53Speaker 2: seems like those are Trump's positions. It didn't seem fully
- 1:59Speaker 2: to me. He keeps pushing for a really hit immigration hard,
- 2:03Speaker 2: which of course was is the reason he was elected
- 2:07Speaker 2: more than anything else, so that's important. And Democrats are
- 2:13Speaker 2: on the other side. So I don't even think I
- 2:18Speaker 2: find it hard to believe that this was like carefully planned.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It was.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It was well, everybody knew that this is what he
- 2:26Speaker 2: ran on, and everybody knew. The Democrats have decided to
- 2:29Speaker 2: oppose basic common sense on that, as well as on transgenders.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I don't know why they. I mean, I guess the
- 2:38Speaker 2: progressive base of the Democratic Party just has them really
- 2:44Speaker 2: really has a lot of power. Why would they, whether
- 2:48Speaker 2: it's in a State of the Union address or on
- 2:51Speaker 2: the campaign trail, or answering questions on TV. Why would
- 2:55Speaker 2: they not be opposed to ille Lillian's killing Americans? Why
- 2:59Speaker 2: would they Why would they support these mangole a like
- 3:03Speaker 2: experiments of poisoning and mutilating little little children, teenagers or
- 3:11Speaker 2: anyone really who's decided they're in the wrong gender.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Yeah. So, but there's some Democrats who are in that credit.
- 3:19Speaker 1: They're kind of normal, like Tom Swazi, the congressman from
- 3:22Speaker 1: long and it's like a common sense, normal gut. But
- 3:24Speaker 1: they were afraid to stand up. So that was really
- 3:28Speaker 1: kind of sad. A fetterman afraid to stand up. What
- 3:31Speaker 1: do you think?
- 3:32Speaker 2: Well, every time I think one of them is normal,
- 3:36Speaker 2: they then very quickly disabused me of that. I mean,
- 3:39Speaker 2: role Kanna is supposed to be like mister moderate and
- 3:42Speaker 2: he will not give up on his support for transgenders
- 3:46Speaker 2: in women's sports.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And the image of elon Omar shouting and screaming
- 3:51Speaker 1: and pointing her finger in that other nutjob next to her.
- 3:55Speaker 1: We're going to see that in a lot of campaign ads,
- 3:56Speaker 1: aren't we.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I would hope. So, as you know, I'm often complaining
- 4:02Speaker 2: about the ads Republicans run if they do it right. Yes,
- 4:06Speaker 2: I agree with you. They got a lot of good
- 4:08Speaker 2: ones from last night. They should have.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I know it's a great speech because I don't know
- 4:12Speaker 1: if you saw Morning Joe this morning, but he was
- 4:14Speaker 1: screaming like a maniac and he said it was the
- 4:17Speaker 1: single most racist speech ever given by any American incident.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Oh, that's fantastic. I did not see it. Sadly, I
- 4:26Speaker 2: was finishing my column last night, so I was up
- 4:29Speaker 2: kind of late and very disappointed. I missed Morning Joe,
- 4:32Speaker 2: So thank you for filling me in. Yeah, that you
- 4:35Speaker 2: are right. That is completely waving the white flag. When
- 4:39Speaker 2: they started supered in with me it was.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Racist, Well what was racist? And then he said the
- 4:45Speaker 1: idea of using the phrase Somali pirates, it's the most
- 4:48Speaker 1: racist thing.
- 4:50Speaker 2: But this is like the Wuhan Tirius. I'm with Trump.
- 4:55Speaker 2: These people are crazy.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So but are they crazy or are they just so
- 5:01Speaker 1: caught up with Trump derangement syndrome that they're just not
- 5:03Speaker 1: thinking straight right now?
- 5:06Speaker 2: It seems to be going on and on. I mean,
- 5:09Speaker 2: it's really hard to distinguish what they actually believe from
- 5:13Speaker 2: how much they hate Trump. They could have. They could
- 5:19Speaker 2: have maintained at least what they were pretending was their
- 5:22Speaker 2: position on immigration under Obama and Clinton, and that is,
- 5:27Speaker 2: we have to have a border and we have to
- 5:28Speaker 2: deport illegals. I don't know why they couldn't have done that,
- 5:32Speaker 2: But they seem to have latched onto Trump's most popular
- 5:36Speaker 2: policies and oppose him on those. I noticed they don't
- 5:39Speaker 2: particularly oppose him on pointless, foreign wars.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Curious that, Well, there's a lot of contracts we'll pose him.
- 5:47Speaker 2: On something he deserves being.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Opposed on, Well, foreign wars. There's a lot of contracts
- 5:52Speaker 1: to hand out the donors, so they don't want to
- 5:54Speaker 1: oppose that. A lot of defense contracts to hand out
- 5:59Speaker 1: on those. Hey, but we're talking of this. Before there
- 6:03Speaker 1: were old fashion liberals that were fine. There was Daniel
- 6:07Speaker 1: Patrick moynihan and Bill Clinton, I mean, normal liberals. What
- 6:11Speaker 1: happened to these people are they? Did they just become extinct?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes? Well, I mean it's pretty much everything in our
- 6:21Speaker 2: country is a function of immigration. We've changed the people.
- 6:25Speaker 2: There used to be normal Democrats, you know, among the
- 6:29Speaker 2: voting populace. But I mean Democrats couldn't get a majority
- 6:35Speaker 2: of white people to vote for them other than lbj's
- 6:40Speaker 2: blowout in sixty four, since the nineteen thirties, well since
- 6:44Speaker 2: since FDR. So they had to bring in ringers. Now
- 6:51Speaker 2: we are a fifty to fifty country, not because Americans
- 6:54Speaker 2: changed their minds or Democrats' arguments were so oh, they're
- 6:57Speaker 2: so clever, they persuaded me. No, they brought in people
- 7:01Speaker 2: from less free countries who do not believe in freedom
- 7:09Speaker 2: and free speech and capitalism. And they're the ones who
- 7:13Speaker 2: who are filling up the Democrats voting list. Well, plus
- 7:18Speaker 2: the illegal aliens we aren't supposed to be voting.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, even the normal ones. You know, you go back
- 7:23Speaker 1: ten years, twelve years. Look at the video of the Clintons,
- 7:25Speaker 1: of Chuck Schumer, of Obama. They're all talking about it.
- 7:28Speaker 1: We must have a border, We've got to deport illegals.
- 7:30Speaker 1: And so did they just go nuts or they.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Foreigners who came to our country don't believe America should
- 7:37Speaker 2: have a border. They don't really care that much for
- 7:41Speaker 2: our country. They certainly don't care for our traditions, and
- 7:45Speaker 2: they certainly can't grasp capitalism, the free market or free speech.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Oh on guns, Oh my gosh, polls have shown this. Incidentally,
- 7:53Speaker 2: I've written about this over and over and over again.
- 7:56Speaker 2: That is why the Democratic Party is changing. That is
- 7:58Speaker 2: why Virginia flipped from fairly red to solid blue. It
- 8:05Speaker 2: isn't the government workers, it's the immigrants.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, did you see the snowball attack on cops.
- 8:12Speaker 1: They're getting hit in the face with these snowballs. I'm
- 8:14Speaker 1: sure you saw that. But mom, Donnie said, they're just
- 8:17Speaker 1: a bunch of kids. They all look like thirty five
- 8:19Speaker 1: year old ex convicts. I mean they didn't look like
- 8:21Speaker 1: kids to me.
- 8:22Speaker 2: And yes, and snowballs made of ice, I mean they
- 8:27Speaker 2: can blind you, they could knock you out. This this
- 8:31Speaker 2: is something that's always driven me crazy about the liberal
- 8:35Speaker 2: love throwing things in people's faces. Things you don't know
- 8:38Speaker 2: what they are. Anything coming at your face is in fact,
- 8:41Speaker 2: it's a good technique to use in a fight. Throw
- 8:44Speaker 2: something at somebody's face. It it's frightening. You don't know
- 8:48Speaker 2: what it is. And it's always annoyed me that people
- 8:52Speaker 2: will sniff at Oh it was just a marshmallow pie,
- 8:56Speaker 2: or oh just a milkshake. Yeah, you don't know what's
- 8:59Speaker 2: in it. It's coming straight at your face. And in
- 9:02Speaker 2: this case, it's very hot, something very hard and capable
- 9:07Speaker 2: of doing enormous damage coming at your face. No, this
- 9:10Speaker 2: was I think a serious assault. I'm with the police union.
- 9:13Speaker 2: And for Monnami to sniff that it was just a
- 9:16Speaker 2: snowball fight, I mean, the only response is to is
- 9:22Speaker 2: to subject Nami to just a snowball.
- 9:26Speaker 1: You know, years ago, there was that football game. I
- 9:29Speaker 1: forget which team, but they decided to throw snowballs at
- 9:32Speaker 1: the other team, the fans, and they blinded a coach.
- 9:35Speaker 1: He got hit in the face and was blinded by
- 9:37Speaker 1: a snowball.
- 9:38Speaker 2: That's awful, but I'm not at all surprised. Yeah, of
- 9:41Speaker 2: course you could blind someone. And it's irresponsible and sophistry
- 9:47Speaker 2: to say just a snowball, just a pie. You know
- 9:51Speaker 2: know what's in it. It's something coming at your face.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Sophistry. I like that word. I'm going to use that today.
- 9:56Speaker 1: She always has these words where you can sound very smart.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I'm going to say that to somebody says something that's just.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Sophistry, it's deceptive logic.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Just in case, what does sophistry mean?
- 10:13Speaker 2: It's deceptive logic?
- 10:15Speaker 1: Oh, okay, Clay, I'm using that word today.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I'm sure there's a better dictionary definition of it.
- 10:22Speaker 1: But no, that's very good. The perfect word. Well, that's
- 10:24Speaker 1: why you should read and Culter and get her books,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and make sure you follow her on Twitter, and make
- 10:30Speaker 1: sure you sign up for her substack. There's great stuff, videos, columns,
