- 3:22Speaker 1: i know it's my, SHOW i should know, that but
- 3:25Speaker 1: we'll know that by. Then and we've lost a. Quarterback
- 3:31Speaker 1: Craig morton has. Died that news came out this. Morning
- 3:35Speaker 1: he died at his home over the weekend On saturday
- 3:38Speaker 1: at the age of eighty. Three and it's. Hard Craig
- 3:43Speaker 1: morton went led teams to suit Two Super, bowls The
- 3:48Speaker 1: cowboys and then The Denver broncos against The, cowboys who
- 3:53Speaker 1: beat him up pretty. Good their former teammate villified because
- 3:59Speaker 1: he didn't in A Super, bowl but obviously a good
- 4:02Speaker 1: enough quarterback to lead two different teams To Super bowls
- 4:06Speaker 1: in seventy one and seventy. SEVEN i believe it Was
- 4:11Speaker 1: Craig morton lived in the neighborhood that many of my
- 4:16Speaker 1: friends lived in as a. SENIOR i KNEW i was
- 4:20Speaker 1: knocking on his. Door we were going door to, door
- 4:23Speaker 1: BUT i KNEW i was knocking On Craig morton's door
- 4:26Speaker 1: selling candles to raise money FOR i think the senior
- 4:30Speaker 1: Prom and he did buy some, candles by the. Way
- 4:36Speaker 1: and it's it's hard to explain if you didn't grow
- 4:42Speaker 1: up at that, time and especially In, dallas the relationship
- 4:48Speaker 1: between fans and, players it's so much different, NOW i think,
- 4:54Speaker 1: personally unless you have a strange situation in that you
- 5:00Speaker 1: have a player that becomes part of the city's. Fabric
- 5:05Speaker 1: it doesn't happen nearly as much in any sport because
- 5:07Speaker 1: they move around so. Long but like in those, days
- 5:12Speaker 1: especially starting when they was drafted out of cow and
- 5:15Speaker 1: you knew That Craig morton was a, cowboy, right you
- 5:18Speaker 1: Knew Bob lilly was a cowboy and was going to
- 5:20Speaker 1: remain a cowboy and just you, know you can go
- 5:25Speaker 1: down the list of the players in and it was
- 5:28Speaker 1: it was. Special so it hits home WHEN i hear
- 5:33Speaker 1: That Craig morton has. Died it hits home WHEN i
- 5:36Speaker 1: hear That Craig morton is eighty three years, old which
- 5:41Speaker 1: is only ten years older THAN i. Am THE sec
- 5:44Speaker 1: will remain the only power conference not to play football
- 5:48Speaker 1: games On friday. Nights Commissioner Greg sankie, says for everybody
- 5:53Speaker 1: that thinks we just grab, money we could grab money
- 5:57Speaker 1: by putting games on different nights the, week But friday
- 6:01Speaker 1: nights are for high. School this allows for high school
- 6:06Speaker 1: football in The, south which are massively important community, events
- 6:09Speaker 1: to continue to have its own. Stage sank also, said
- 6:15Speaker 1: in basically this state of college, FOOTBALL i think it was.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yesterday he's still holding on to sixteen if they expand
- 6:23Speaker 1: from twelve college football and not twenty. Four but he's
- 6:28Speaker 1: also defending the move to go to seventy six teams
- 6:32Speaker 1: in the, basketball which is. Ludicrous we all know That
- 6:38Speaker 1: New mexico is going to Play Texas tech in football
- 6:43Speaker 1: in twenty twenty. Seven it became available Because TEXAS a
- 6:48Speaker 1: AND m canceled their game At New, mexico AND i don't.
- 6:55Speaker 1: REMEMBER i think it had to do with the ninth.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Game and you, KNOW i don't remember all of the
- 7:01Speaker 1: particulars for WHY a AND m Canceled New. Mexico The
- 7:08Speaker 1: lobos And Red raiders have played quite a bit over
- 7:11Speaker 1: the years because they're in fairly close. Proximity they played
- 7:17Speaker 1: nine times between eighty one and ninety, four with all
- 7:22Speaker 1: games decided by one. Score they last played in twenty.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Twelve that was four of. Four they played four games
- 7:35Speaker 1: in a row between nine and twenty. Twelve texacts is

- 9:37Speaker 1: agent negotiate. That by the, Way Rangers diamondbacks again. Tonight you,
- 9:43Speaker 1: know we were so excited after The rangers took two
- 9:46Speaker 1: games from the high Flying Chicago cubs over the. Weekend
- 9:50Speaker 1: The cubs won ten straight, games including the first game
- 9:53Speaker 1: of the, series and The rangers won the last. Two
- 9:55Speaker 1: and they pitched the heck out of the Baseball guess.
- 9:58Speaker 1: What they allowed just one run last night To. Arizona one.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Run they're playing at home and they, lost and it
- 10:07Speaker 1: was a bullpen, game a bullpen, game and they. Lost

- 10:40Speaker 1: through the toughest schedule in baseball and they've, finished you,
- 10:44Speaker 1: know two games under five. Hundred not terrible given the
- 10:47Speaker 1: fact that no one on the team But Josh young
- 10:49Speaker 1: is hitting, okay they've they've pitched, great just like last,
- 10:54Speaker 1: year and we're all. Excited, oh they're getting the easy

- 11:00Speaker 1: arizona's not a terrible, team right they won one to, nothing.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Brutal but the good news is The astros lost again
- 11:11Speaker 1: three to one to The. MARINERS i don't know if
- 11:12Speaker 1: that's good news or, not because The mariners will lead
- 11:14Speaker 1: The rangers now in The. Vision and The astros are
- 11:22Speaker 1: now ten games under five. Hundred they're sixteen and twenty.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Six The mariners are twenty and twenty. Two Carlos coreander

- 11:39Speaker 1: it was three to. One Peter lambert was pretty good seven,
- 11:45Speaker 1: innings quality, start three, runs six, hits six, k's but
- 11:50Speaker 1: they couldn't score Against George, kirby who pitched five innings
- 11:54Speaker 1: and allowed one. Run and struck out. Seven The diamondbacks
- 11:58Speaker 1: have traded Outfielder Alec thomas to The. Dodgers thomas burst
- 12:06Speaker 1: on the scene when the D backs went to The World,
- 12:08Speaker 1: series where they lost to The. Ragers in twenty twenty,
- 12:12Speaker 1: three the D backs called up their top, Prospect Ryan Walt.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Schmidt thomas did not start. Well he was hitting a

- 14:34Speaker 1: The Saudi fund is pulled out Of live and the
- 14:36Speaker 1: future Of live is in. Doubt and A florida judge

- 16:43Speaker 5: Eloquently why does coffee spill more than? Water AND i,
- 16:46Speaker 5: said it's the size of the. Cup and then we,
- 16:49Speaker 5: googled and you thought THE ai machine was the most
- 16:52Speaker 5: stupid response.
- 16:53Speaker 6: EVER i don't buy the size of the, company AND
- 16:55Speaker 6: ai is. Stupid AI's talking about, well there's when your,
- 16:59Speaker 6: walking say anything about. WALKING i just, said why does
- 17:01Speaker 6: it spill? More and then for it to say the
- 17:03Speaker 6: size of the.
- 17:04Speaker 7: Cup it's not surface.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Tension it's not like you're pouring a gallon of coffee
- 17:10Speaker 6: into a small. Cup it's still a. Cup you fill
- 17:13Speaker 6: it to like within an, inch but your strength.
- 17:16Speaker 5: On a smaller surface area like your wrist. Strength you,
- 17:20Speaker 5: like if you're.
- 17:23Speaker 6: As a human, being you don't have the. Control So
- 17:25Speaker 6: i'm drinking coffee like like this right because my hand
- 17:30Speaker 6: is so u.
- 17:31Speaker 8: You got it on my wrist and you got it
- 17:32Speaker 8: on my.

- 18:08Speaker 12: Ways in a, yell, everybody welcome, back sad about our.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Nest guess we're gonna jump out to the Players Fun
- 18:24Speaker 1: center zoom. Line visit With Tom. Doyle his book is
- 18:29Speaker 1: Called RINGO a Fab. Life, Tom how are you not?
- 18:34Speaker 9: Bad? Chipping how are?
- 18:35Speaker 1: You i'm doing? GREAT i really enjoyed this. Book what
- 18:39Speaker 1: was it that drew you to write About? RINGO i just.
- 18:44Speaker 13: Think really That ringo's kind of overshadowed by the Other
- 18:47Speaker 13: beatles in a. Way he actually in the stories sometimes
- 18:51Speaker 13: in the, books you, know he's really an. Afterthought and
- 18:53Speaker 13: WHEN i Interviewed, Dringle i've interviewed him a couple of,
- 18:56Speaker 13: times and one time he was talking about the fact
- 18:58Speaker 13: that he wouldn't be interested in writing an autobiography because
- 19:03Speaker 13: he thought that basically people weren't interested in anything apart
- 19:07Speaker 13: from The beatles, stories you. Know But ringo's early life
- 19:10Speaker 13: story is, incredible really BECAUSE i mean he nearly died
- 19:14Speaker 13: at the age of, seven he was in a coma
- 19:17Speaker 13: for ten, weeks you, know and then SO i, mean
- 19:19Speaker 13: all This beatle stuff might not happened at.
- 19:22Speaker 9: All and then, later you, know.
- 19:24Speaker 13: His seventies and beyond and stuff like that is really
- 19:26Speaker 13: fascinating because he makes all these, films and you, know
- 19:29Speaker 13: he goes through, addiction you, know he makes all these popular.
- 19:32Speaker 13: Records he, did you, know The All Star, Band so
- 19:35Speaker 13: there's all this different. Stuff there are many layers To
- 19:38Speaker 13: ringo WHICH i felt had been unexplored in other, books.
- 19:42Speaker 1: You, know and as you, mentioned you call it an.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Afterthought but the prevailing opinion has always, been, well of the,
- 19:50Speaker 1: four he's certainly the least, talented and after reading about
- 19:54Speaker 1: him and the respect and the music that he's, done it's, like,
- 19:57Speaker 1: no he'd been imperfectly with the the three. Guys he
- 20:01Speaker 1: he doesn't have to hide in a corner from. Anybody, no.
- 20:06Speaker 13: ABSOLUTELY i mean the thing, IS i think because of
- 20:08Speaker 13: the fact That ringo was the last one into the,
- 20:11Speaker 13: band he did suffer a little bit from that, Actually but,
- 20:15Speaker 13: No ringo's rock solid as a. MUSICIAN i mean McCartney
- 20:18Speaker 13: says that ABOUT i mean when he inducted him in
- 20:21Speaker 13: The rock And Roll hall Of fame and he said,
- 20:23Speaker 13: that he, said you never had to turn around and worry,
- 20:25Speaker 13: about you, know Whether ringo was being solid or he
- 20:28Speaker 13: was going to move with the changes and stuff like,
- 20:30Speaker 13: that because he was always. There But ringo was also
- 20:33Speaker 13: a Very he's quite an arty minded, dude you, know
- 20:36Speaker 13: which is overlooked a lot of the. TIME i, mean
- 20:39Speaker 13: you think of a drum part like Come, Together lenon brings,
- 20:43Speaker 13: in which is what is basically a Chuck berry, knockoff
- 20:46Speaker 13: And ringo turns in this drum beat that's you, know
- 20:49Speaker 13: it's Like picasso or. Something it's like this cutest drum.
- 20:52Speaker 13: Beat it's not what anyone would play when they heard
- 20:56Speaker 13: a blues riff from the guitar Of John, lennon you. Know,
- 20:59Speaker 13: SO i mean goes not to be underestimated as a.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Musician one of the things you reminded us. About he
- 21:05Speaker 1: was wildly popular in The United, states was he.
- 21:09Speaker 9: Not, yes, yeah he was the. Favorite Be ringo for. President, yes.
- 21:14Speaker 13: Ringoient you can still Buy ringo For president t shirts actually,
- 21:20Speaker 13: online which is very, funny you. Know but eighty, five
- 21:23Speaker 13: he's probably too he's probably too old to. Run, also
- 21:26Speaker 13: wasn't born In, america you, know so sadly that will
- 21:30Speaker 13: never come to.
- 21:31Speaker 9: Pass But ringo would have been a great, President i'm,
- 21:33Speaker 9: sure you.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Know given his, illness and you mentioned at seven and
- 21:37Speaker 1: again as a, teenager you, know he spent a lengthy
- 21:40Speaker 1: time again in the hospital and then with all of
- 21:43Speaker 1: the alcohol consumption that he. Had it's really. Remarkable he
- 21:48Speaker 1: will be eighty six In july and still going strong
- 21:52Speaker 1: and playing, music isn't.
- 21:53Speaker 9: He, yeah this is.
- 21:55Speaker 13: Incredible, actually so his brother in, Law Joe walsh of The,
- 21:58Speaker 13: EAGLES i interviewed him, too and he said That ringle
- 22:02Speaker 13: smells of, kale which kind of shows you how far he's, come,
- 22:06Speaker 13: right you, Know dringle now smells like health food, shop,
- 22:09Speaker 13: brother than a, brewery so you, know but, YEAH i,
- 22:12Speaker 13: mean he went through heavy addictions in the, seventies and.
- 22:15Speaker 13: STUFF i, think like a lot of rock, STARS i,
- 22:17Speaker 13: mean drinking and drugging, was you, know a great pastime
- 22:20Speaker 13: at a certain, point and then obviously it turned on
- 22:23Speaker 13: him and became an, addiction which actually sapped him of
- 22:27Speaker 13: his joy of music and stuff like. That but having said,
- 22:31Speaker 13: that he continued to. PLAY i, mean he went on
- 22:33Speaker 13: stage with The Beach boys in the early eighties In,
- 22:35Speaker 13: washington D. C in front of half a million, people
- 22:38Speaker 13: and he later said that he couldn't even remember he'd done.
- 22:41Speaker 9: It you.
- 22:42Speaker 13: Know the proof was somebody came up and show him a.
- 22:44Speaker 13: Photograph he was, like, oh, YEAH i must have been
- 22:46Speaker 13: on the Stage Beach.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Yes you. Know it's amazing you bring that, up because there,
- 22:50Speaker 1: were you, know there were parts of fame that, EVERYBODY
- 22:54Speaker 1: i guess doesn't. Like but he just wanted to be
- 22:56Speaker 1: a member of the band and play music and the
- 22:59Speaker 1: stuff that blew up in the mid sixties and the
- 23:01Speaker 1: crowds and having to run for your life and pressing.
- 23:05Speaker 1: FORWARD i, Mean i'm not saying anybody loved, that but
- 23:09Speaker 1: a few people might. Have but he really didn't like
- 23:12Speaker 1: that part of, it did.
- 23:13Speaker 14: He.
- 23:14Speaker 13: NO i, mean it's it's a really tough. Thing it
- 23:16Speaker 13: was so scary as, well isn't. IT i, mean this
- 23:19Speaker 13: was the sort of white hop fame THAT i mean
- 23:21Speaker 13: really Only elvis And Frank sinatra had ever experienced, before
- 23:26Speaker 13: at least The beatles had each. OTHER i, mean they
- 23:28Speaker 13: were a, gang AND i mean they encountered a lot
- 23:31Speaker 13: of snobbery In bretain and stuff because they were Basically,
- 23:34Speaker 13: oiks you, know from the north of the, country you,
- 23:37Speaker 13: know and you, know The Prime minister at the time, said,
- 23:41Speaker 13: oh they don't even talk To Queen's english and, stuff
- 23:43Speaker 13: and it's just like BUT i, mean The beatles Brought
- 23:46Speaker 13: liverpool to the world and everybody was charmed by the
- 23:49Speaker 13: liver puddle and accent and humor and stuff like that as,
- 23:52Speaker 13: well you. Know but, YEAH i mean that whitehawk. FAME i,
- 23:55Speaker 13: MEAN i don't know how anybody could put that. REALLY
- 23:59Speaker 13: i think what's interesting little Bit paul And, ringo, though
- 24:01Speaker 13: is they came through all that and they're stile.
- 24:04Speaker 9: You, know some of the most famous people on the,
- 24:06Speaker 9: planet no, doubt but they have a maage with their sanity.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Intact, yes, yes, yes you. Know he was kind of
- 24:14Speaker 1: the go between at, times was he. NOT i, mean
- 24:17Speaker 1: for the most. PART i mean he ended up playing With,
- 24:22Speaker 1: paul he ended up playing with. Johnn he ended up
- 24:24Speaker 1: playing With. GEORGE i mean he was he was the
- 24:27Speaker 1: guy that was kind of in the. Middle but one
- 24:29Speaker 1: of the things that surprised, me IF i got this,
- 24:32Speaker 1: right he was the first one that left the. GROUP
- 24:36Speaker 1: i mean he came, back but he walked, out didn't
- 24:38Speaker 1: He he walked.
- 24:39Speaker 15: Out.
- 24:41Speaker 13: Yes so in nineteen sixty, eight The beatles go To,
- 24:44Speaker 13: india AND i, mean he's all often seen as being
- 24:47Speaker 13: the least Spiritual beatles because he came back after ten.
- 24:50Speaker 13: Days but that's because he hated the foods and his
- 24:52Speaker 13: wife hated the. Insects but he did an interview with
- 24:55Speaker 13: The london Even standard when he got, back and he
- 24:58Speaker 13: must have been in a loule so in mood because
- 25:00Speaker 13: he was, saying, Oh i'm not a great drummer AND
- 25:03Speaker 13: i don't want to get better and stuff like. That
- 25:06Speaker 13: and actually around this time he was talking to his
- 25:09Speaker 13: wife about leaving the, band and he was warning, her,
- 25:12Speaker 13: well the money will be different and, stuff you, know you,
- 25:16Speaker 13: know and then obviously this leads to him walking. Out you,
- 25:20Speaker 13: know When paul is trying to tell him exactly how
- 25:23Speaker 13: the drum beat back in THE ussr should be played And.
- 25:27Speaker 9: Ringo storms, out you, know but he goes on. Holiday
- 25:30Speaker 9: how's a think about?
- 25:31Speaker 13: It comes back To Abby Road studios OR Emi studios
- 25:34Speaker 13: as they were known, then And george is arranged to
- 25:37Speaker 13: Have flowers fishtooned all.
- 25:40Speaker 9: Over his drum, kit you. Know, yeah and that's. It
- 25:43Speaker 9: he's he's very.
- 25:44Speaker 13: Confident and from that point on The white album and
- 25:46Speaker 13: beyond all the way Through Abby, ROAD i, mean he plays.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Amazingly you talk about a couple of. Things one that
- 25:53Speaker 1: they took the picture That Abbey road album the last,
- 25:57Speaker 1: time you, know it had been seven, years right nineteen
- 26:01Speaker 1: sixty two In hamburg when they're when they're together on that.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Stage this was A roman, CANDLE i mean seven years it.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Was it wasn't a huge randomly and it and it
- 26:12Speaker 1: impacted it's still impacting people.
- 26:15Speaker 9: People.
- 26:16Speaker 13: Well the thing that's interesting about that is, THAT i
- 26:19Speaker 13: Mean i've When i've talked To paul McCartney as, well,
- 26:21Speaker 13: Obviously i've asked them, about you, know what do you
- 26:23Speaker 13: think would have happened in the seventies or? WHATEVER i
- 26:26Speaker 13: think because they thought that that was a sort of
- 26:29Speaker 13: perfect or near perfect catalog of. Albums, sure they almost
- 26:34Speaker 13: couldn't be. Bettered AND i think that in the seventies
- 26:37Speaker 13: when these reunion rumors were being, floated and let's be,
- 26:41Speaker 13: honest there was a good chance at some point it
- 26:43Speaker 13: would have, happened because in the, EIGHTIES i mean, yeah
- 26:47Speaker 13: BUT i mean in the seventies they were all into
- 26:48Speaker 13: at different.
- 26:49Speaker 9: Times but you, KNOW i think that they.
- 26:51Speaker 13: Were wary, of as McCartney, said reheating The soux Fle
- 26:55Speaker 13: so those seven years it's it's an amazing catalog and like,
- 27:00Speaker 13: us they're still trying to get their heads around.
- 27:03Speaker 1: It, Actually ringo And i'll in with. This ringo was
- 27:06Speaker 1: was kind of surprised when he put the All star
- 27:08Speaker 1: band together that everybody said, yes wasn't He, Yeah.
- 27:12Speaker 13: Joe Walsh helpton do that, Right and you know it's
- 27:15Speaker 13: like Doctor jones coming back saying, yes and like the
- 27:18Speaker 13: guys from the band that are coming back and saying.
- 27:19Speaker 9: Yes and you, Know joe see why he's. SURPRISED i,
- 27:22Speaker 9: mean these.
- 27:23Speaker 13: Guys would jump at, this which kind of shows you
- 27:26Speaker 13: Where ringo wasn't.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And these guys were, stars but they were all in
- 27:29Speaker 1: awe of still being able to play With, ringo weren't they.
- 27:32Speaker 13: Exactly that's what it, is you, know and that's why
- 27:34Speaker 13: the all star band worked so, well because it takes
- 27:37Speaker 13: the attention off him and also give the audience a
- 27:40Speaker 13: really good sort of juke box, show which is a
- 27:43Speaker 13: great night.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Out the book is Called Ringo STARR A RINGO A Fab.

- 33:49Speaker 21: Com thanks for joining me, Today.
- 33:51Speaker 11: Hey, caleb thank you for giving me a. CALL i
- 33:54Speaker 11: appreciate looking forward to.
- 33:55Speaker 21: It, yes, sir me. Too so we've had a pretty
- 33:58Speaker 21: eventful playoff off season so far with our local softball
- 34:02Speaker 21: and baseball. Teams college stations softball team season coming to
- 34:07Speaker 21: an end earlier this week Against Barbers. Hill did you
- 34:11Speaker 21: have a chance to watch that game or was that
- 34:13Speaker 21: was covered on bcsball dot?
- 34:14Speaker 9: Com is that?
- 34:15Speaker 11: Correct, yeah it certainly. Was but unfortunately bcsball Dot com
- 34:20Speaker 11: it's not just. Me i've got some really reliable folks
- 34:26Speaker 11: who broadcast for. ME i do some broadcast, myself but
- 34:31Speaker 11: that series was covered by my Man Gil domingus And
- 34:36Speaker 11: Rusty shaw is my other regular guy who's been with
- 34:38Speaker 11: me since the very, start and he's covering The College
- 34:42Speaker 11: Station baseball, series which is still going.
- 34:45Speaker 21: On SO i know you are a radio. Veteran how
- 34:49Speaker 21: long has bcsball been around?
- 34:50Speaker 11: Now seven. Years we got started in the spring of
- 34:54Speaker 11: twenty nineteen with that softball. Season that's when vcs ball
- 35:00Speaker 11: Dot com was born and we finished out that school.
- 35:03Speaker 11: Year and what we do for folks that don't, know
- 35:06Speaker 11: it's all online and it's audio. Only it's online. Radio
- 35:11Speaker 11: we broadcast team sports for the Two BRYAN isd schools
- 35:16Speaker 11: and the Two College STATION isd. Schools we start off
- 35:20Speaker 11: in the fall by broadcasting volleyball and a few junior
- 35:25Speaker 11: varsity football. Games we broadcast, about, OH i want to,
- 35:30Speaker 11: say fifty to fifty five or more volleyball games each,
- 35:37Speaker 11: fall and then we move into, basketball boys and girls,
- 35:40Speaker 11: basketball and we broadcast another more than one hundred or
- 35:45Speaker 11: so boys and girls selected boys and girls basketball games
- 35:50Speaker 11: of the four. Schools and then we move into the
- 35:53Speaker 11: spring where we do baseball and, softball and that's what
- 35:56Speaker 11: we're finishing up, now so we cover all those. Sports it's,
- 36:00Speaker 11: live play by Play we're there in every game and it's.
- 36:04Speaker 11: Free listeners listen for. Free they just got to go
- 36:07Speaker 11: to bcsball dot. Com and we've been doing this now
- 36:11Speaker 11: for seven.
- 36:11Speaker 21: Years so you, know covering five different sports like you
- 36:15Speaker 21: do on bcsball Dot. COM i have a little bit
- 36:18Speaker 21: of experience calling a few of those, sports BUT i
- 36:20Speaker 21: haven't DONE i haven't done any. VOLLEYBALL i haven't done any.
- 36:23Speaker 21: Softball which sport is your favorite to call just for
- 36:26Speaker 21: you as a, broadcaster.
- 36:28Speaker 11: Baseball or softball, is and it has been really from the.
- 36:33Speaker 11: START i like them. All there's not one THAT i don't.
- 36:36Speaker 11: LIKE i will tell YOU i struggle through. Volleyball volleyball
- 36:41Speaker 11: takes a specific talent and there's a specific lingo, involved
- 36:47Speaker 11: there's a learning curve. INVOLVED i would say that volleyball
- 36:51Speaker 11: is the toughest to call because of, that and it
- 36:55Speaker 11: shows When i'm doing, it and it is the toughest to.
- 36:58Speaker 11: Call BUT i like baseball and softball just because of
- 37:01Speaker 11: the freedom to be creative in. It you, know it's
- 37:06Speaker 11: the slower, obviously it's not basketball where they're running up
- 37:09Speaker 11: and down the. Court it's not football where they're in
- 37:12Speaker 11: a no hot, huddle. Offense it's, like sit, back, relax
- 37:17Speaker 11: let me tell you a little bit of story between.
- 37:19Speaker 11: Pitches it's difficult in the preparation because you've got to
- 37:24Speaker 11: have a lot to talk. About you don't want a
- 37:26Speaker 11: lot of dead air between pitches or between, Batters so
- 37:30Speaker 11: you've got to have a lot of notes and things
- 37:32Speaker 11: about the different, players and you've got to have the
- 37:35Speaker 11: knowledge of you, know the, diamond knowledge of the rules
- 37:39Speaker 11: of the, games and be aware of what's happening on
- 37:43Speaker 11: the field at all. Times AND i would, say other than,
- 37:46Speaker 11: volleyball it's the most difficult to, call but it's the
- 37:50Speaker 11: one THAT i enjoyed the. MOST i did CALL a
- 37:54Speaker 11: AND m baseball With Dave south for ten. Years.
- 37:57Speaker 21: YEAH i think that's one thing that you, know most
- 38:00Speaker 21: people don't really think about the casual viewer. Listener they don't,
- 38:04Speaker 21: REALLY i don't, think appreciate just how difficult it, is
- 38:07Speaker 21: even when you're somebody that has watched baseball or softball
- 38:11Speaker 21: your whole. Life it's really hard to fill fifteen seconds
- 38:13Speaker 21: in between.
- 38:14Speaker 17: Every pitch exactly done.
- 38:16Speaker 21: It i've done it a couple of. Times, yeah it's
- 38:19Speaker 21: a lot more difficult than people. Think one game that
- 38:22Speaker 21: will be on bcsball dot com tonight hopefully is a
- 38:25Speaker 21: college station And crosby in there by a district baseball.
- 38:29Speaker 21: Matchup college station of course getting the win last night
- 38:32Speaker 21: five to. Three so who's going out there tonight to
- 38:36Speaker 21: call that?
- 38:37Speaker 11: Game that'll Be Rusty, shaw who's been with me since the.
- 38:41Speaker 11: Beginning he's been with me for seven. Years rusty lives In,
- 38:44Speaker 11: spring But rusty is just a pro at this and
- 38:48Speaker 11: he's covering that college station. Series that series was happening
- 38:52Speaker 11: At Syridge High. School he was there last night for
- 38:55Speaker 11: the five to three college station win last. Night they
- 38:58Speaker 11: were supposed today at around one o'clock make the decision
- 39:03Speaker 11: whether they are going to Play game two. Tonight syridge has,
- 39:08Speaker 11: turf it's not a question of a soggy grass. Field
- 39:11Speaker 11: BUT i think they're just thinking about the travel for
- 39:14Speaker 11: the fans and, everything and just the constant rain that
- 39:17Speaker 11: we've been having. Today but they might make the decision
- 39:21Speaker 11: to delay until tomorrow in the afternoon and Play game
- 39:26Speaker 11: two and then if, needed follow immediately With game. Three
- 39:31Speaker 11: so people can go to bcsball dot com And i'll
- 39:35Speaker 11: keep everybody posted on what they. Decide but if they
- 39:40Speaker 11: decide to play. Tonight the game starts at seven and
- 39:43Speaker 11: we'll be on the air at six forty five.
- 39:45Speaker 21: When this, airs hopefully to all the, listeners you will
- 39:48Speaker 21: have heard either on bcsball dot com or some of
- 39:51Speaker 21: the other local media sources whether or not this game
- 39:54Speaker 21: is being. Played the other, game the other series that
- 39:57Speaker 21: was taking place was The Brian vikings to On. Watsahatchie
- 40:02Speaker 21: and this is an interesting scenario when this, game that game.
- 40:05Speaker 11: Is still going. On it's not actually going, on but
- 40:10Speaker 11: it is suspended right. Now, yeah this was crazy AND
- 40:14Speaker 11: i was broadcasting this game last. Night it's game two
- 40:18Speaker 11: of their six a series Between brian And. Waxahatchie waxahatchie
- 40:22Speaker 11: won game one On wednesday night In waxahatchie they won
- 40:27Speaker 11: two to, nothing and then game two was supposed to
- 40:31Speaker 11: have been last night At Brian. High. Well Brian high
- 40:35Speaker 11: does not have, turf not. Yet they're about to get
- 40:38Speaker 11: it along With rudder, also but they don't have. It
- 40:43Speaker 11: so as soon as the rain started yesterday they moved
- 40:46Speaker 11: that game To caldwell and The hornets do have, turf
- 40:50Speaker 11: and that's where they played last. Night brian ran into a.
- 40:53Speaker 11: Buzzsaw they got to the top of the sixth, Inning
- 40:57Speaker 11: waxahatchie was up eleven to two With watchahatchie at bat
- 41:03Speaker 11: and one runner on and got a lightning strike within
- 41:08Speaker 11: the three miles or four miles or whatever the rule,
- 41:11Speaker 11: is and so they told everybody to get out of
- 41:15Speaker 11: the metal stands and teams went to their, buses and
- 41:18Speaker 11: we could see the coaches in the officials down on the,
- 41:21Speaker 11: field and it didn't take them long to decide that
- 41:25Speaker 11: they were going to suspend the, game not, today but
- 41:29Speaker 11: tomorrow at one. O'clock they're going to pick up the
- 41:33Speaker 11: game in the top of the sixth inning With watchahatchie
- 41:37Speaker 11: leading at eleven to two and finish the. Game and
- 41:42Speaker 11: the game is going to be At Waco Live Oak High.
- 41:45Speaker 11: School that's where if there was going to be A game,
- 41:49Speaker 11: three that's where they were going to play it On.
- 41:52Speaker 11: Saturday and so Should brian be able to miraculously come
- 41:56Speaker 11: back and win that game in the last two, innings
- 42:00Speaker 11: they'll immediately follow With game. Three but obviously there's a
- 42:05Speaker 11: probability and possibility that both the teams and the fans
- 42:09Speaker 11: will travel to From waxahatchie and From brian To waco.
- 42:15Speaker 17: To c two innings of.
- 42:16Speaker 11: Baseball but you, know you, know last night Coach Justin
- 42:20Speaker 11: garcia was not about to tell his kids, that, hey you,
- 42:24Speaker 11: know we're gonna we're going to call it a game
- 42:26Speaker 11: and your season's over because of a lightning. Delay no
- 42:30Speaker 11: way that was going to, happen, Right so everybody was
- 42:32Speaker 11: fine with. That so that's what they're gonna. Do we
- 42:34Speaker 11: won't be following them on bcsball dot. Com you can
- 42:38Speaker 11: sort of check the result if you want On Game
- 42:40Speaker 11: changer or whatever your favorite mode, is but we will
- 42:43Speaker 11: have updates for you On Game changer of how they
- 42:48Speaker 11: end that second.
- 42:48Speaker 21: Game, well you, know we have seen crazier things on
- 42:51Speaker 21: the sport of baseball than a nine run. Comeback but,
- 42:54Speaker 21: yeah that is definitely an interesting. Scenario it's just kind
- 42:56Speaker 21: of the nature of the beast with high school sports
- 42:59Speaker 21: in the playoffs In texas in the rainy season like.
- 43:02Speaker 11: This that's a good thing for the you, know for
- 43:05Speaker 11: the pocketbooks of some of these teams that have turf,
- 43:08Speaker 11: fields for, example the brand new turf fields At College
- 43:13Speaker 11: station AND a AND M, consolidated they have they have
- 43:17Speaker 11: started immediately getting a return on their. Investment, yeah when it,
- 43:20Speaker 11: rains the phones start lining up with people wanting to
- 43:24Speaker 11: play on your turf.
- 43:25Speaker 21: Fields, WELL i appreciate your time. Today we will make

- 50:51Speaker 29: out there and executed. It and we want to gain.
- 50:53Speaker 10: One.
- 50:53Speaker 29: Nothing it's not anything that we want to do or keep.
- 50:57Speaker 29: Doing we want to bang the bay ball and score
- 51:00Speaker 29: a lot of. Runs but when you're in that position
- 51:02Speaker 29: and the pitcher step up the way they, did it
- 51:04Speaker 29: was a fantastic.
- 51:04Speaker 9: Effort it started With.
- 51:05Speaker 29: Soroka he did a really nice, job low pitch, count
- 51:09Speaker 29: temptation to leave him in the, game BUT i felt
- 51:11Speaker 29: like the bullpen was ready to for the for that,
- 51:13Speaker 29: matchup those, matchups and it.
- 51:14Speaker 9: Worked out really.
- 51:15Speaker 29: WELL i think we all are thinking of the same
- 51:17Speaker 29: thing happened in this. Ballpark But paul's as good as,
- 51:20Speaker 29: anybody and he went out there and. Executed you, know
- 51:24Speaker 29: he threw a tool slider got away from him and
- 51:26Speaker 29: with the man of first, base went back out there
- 51:28Speaker 29: and executed and did a really nice job and he
- 51:30Speaker 29: collected a. Save and that's really the bottom.
- 51:32Speaker 9: Line.
- 51:32Speaker 14: Soroka it seems like after That brewer, start he really
- 51:34Speaker 14: found something with the slurve and you, know and doing
- 51:38Speaker 14: a pretty nice job versus lefties en.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Righties what has that difference?
- 51:43Speaker 9: VENUE i think he's he's getting.
- 51:46Speaker 29: Ahead there's really early count, strikes there's fastball, presence and
- 51:50Speaker 29: then you know there's that the SLURB i think he
- 51:53Speaker 29: can bury. IT i think he can throw it for a.
- 51:54Speaker 29: Strike he's just got a really good feel for. It
- 51:56Speaker 29: AND i even think there was there was you know
- 51:58Speaker 29: a few other pitches that he continue to mix in
- 52:00Speaker 29: that that we're driven into the. Zone you, know the
- 52:03Speaker 29: cutter sinker combination on top of the secondary stuff makes them,
- 52:07Speaker 29: very very. EFFECTIVE i just reminded them a couple of
- 52:10Speaker 29: what our what our basic principles were in our, identity
- 52:13Speaker 29: our our offensive, identity and just ask, them you know
- 52:16Speaker 29: where we are and, uh they they know that they
- 52:19Speaker 29: got to they got to do some work and get
- 52:21Speaker 29: better and they. Will This this group is too. Good
- 52:24Speaker 29: they've proven that time and time. Again and it's just a.
- 52:26Speaker 29: Grind this game's never. Easy it's not supposed to be.
- 52:30Speaker 29: So at the end of the, day if you're just
- 52:31Speaker 29: putting in your best, effort, pregame, preparing and then going
- 52:34Speaker 29: out there and leaving it all in the. Diamond i'm
- 52:36Speaker 29: very satisfied we're managing to win. Games it's not like
- 52:39Speaker 29: you originally. Asked we don't want to win one and nothing.
- 52:41Speaker 29: Games we want to win five or six to nothing,
- 52:43Speaker 29: games and we're going to get.
- 52:44Speaker 1: There The rangers just want to. Win. Unfortunately McKenzie gore
- 52:50Speaker 1: on The MOUNTAIN. Iv he had been very, good and the,
- 52:53Speaker 1: bullpen of course has just been. Unbelievable but THEY i
- 52:58Speaker 1: just don't see how they continue this all. Year you've
- 53:01Speaker 1: got to get six and seven innings from your. Starters
- 53:05Speaker 1: they very seldom have done. That The astros ten games
- 53:10Speaker 1: below five. Hundred UH tatsuyamai is on the mound returns
- 53:19Speaker 1: from THE I l with arm fatigue among other. Things
- 53:24Speaker 1: we'll see how he does his fourth Career Major league.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Start Here's joe as spot on last night's three to one.
- 53:32Speaker 28: Loss what was the impression most About lamberts might go
- 53:37Speaker 28: on seven and.
- 53:38Speaker 20: It's really good stroll modeling, again give it us a
- 53:41Speaker 20: chance to, win really really good.
- 53:42Speaker 7: Stuff.
- 53:43Speaker 19: Man this guy, competes he. Grinds he pitched through trouble
- 53:48Speaker 19: and changeing was really good. TODAY i thought that was
- 53:53Speaker 19: that was a pitch that got him through a lot of.
- 53:55Speaker 20: JAMS i was Standing Jabar, bullpen who really pitched really.
- 53:59Speaker 24: Well do you think the pitching staff is starting to
- 54:04Speaker 24: stabilize a little, bit just after all the injuries and
- 54:07Speaker 24: all the in effects early do you think you guys
- 54:08Speaker 24: are trying to kind of finding your Foot and.
- 54:10Speaker 20: YEAH i think we are definitely turning the. Corner you,
- 54:15Speaker 20: know our starters are giving taking us deep in the.
- 54:17Speaker 1: GAME a bullpen is doing their.
- 54:20Speaker 20: Job we just haven't been able to get that big.
- 54:23Speaker 20: Hit but our pitching has really come around and they're
- 54:28Speaker 20: starting to compete more on the, zone trying to put people.
- 54:30Speaker 20: Away you, know really nice. Job basque is really trying
- 54:34Speaker 20: to get into a rhythm, here trying to get these guys.
- 54:36Speaker 20: Through it's been really.
- 54:38Speaker 18: Good.
- 54:38Speaker 24: Yeah did you think you guys put yourself in good
- 54:41Speaker 24: situations Against?

- 54:44Speaker 20: Pitch count up and getting ninety four pitches through five
- 54:47Speaker 20: and the third and the, fifth we got them against The.
- 54:50Speaker 20: Ropes we just couldn't land that knockout. Punch we couldn't
- 54:53Speaker 20: get you, know that big hit put our bats against.
- 54:56Speaker 20: Them we're really, good really.
- 54:58Speaker 14: Good.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Yeah that that kind of sounds familiar from those two
- 55:03Speaker 1: teams last. Night the Two texas teams combined in eighteen
- 55:08Speaker 1: innings last night scored one. Run one run between The
- 55:12Speaker 1: rangers and The. Astros maybe they'll, play you, know and
