- 0:00Speaker 1: Dan, I thought that game was all about the defense,
- 0:01Speaker 1: particularly three-point defense. You really took that away from them.
- 0:04Speaker 1: How'd you do it?
- 0:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, just, you know, really just tried to
- 0:08Speaker 2: blitz them in ball screens and speed them up and,
- 0:13Speaker 2: you know, just put a lot of pressure on them.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I mean, at the expense of even exposing ourselves, but,
- 0:18Speaker 2: you know, just kind of game to game. You've got
- 0:20Speaker 2: to be able to play a defense that makes sense,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and it made sense to really harass them at the lines.
- 0:25Speaker 1: How do you evaluate Breland Mullen's first game back? He
- 0:27Speaker 1: didn't shoot the ball particularly well, but he had four
- 0:29Speaker 1: assists and played pretty well in the second half.
- 0:31Speaker 2: He did. It's like a warm-up for him. He hasn't
- 0:34Speaker 2: played a game since the national championship. It was good
- 0:39Speaker 2: to get his feet wet and get one under his belt.
- 0:42Speaker 2: He'll be much better moving forward.
- 0:43Speaker 1: The freshman, Colvin Landrieu, put on a show. 15 points,
- 0:46Speaker 1: 11 straight UConn points mid-second half. What made him so effective?
- 0:51Speaker 2: The guy's just got a lot of talent and he's...
- 0:55Speaker 2: He's just so instinctual and so physical. He's an underrated cutter.
- 0:59Speaker 2: If he starts making threes, which I thought when we
- 1:04Speaker 2: recruited him out of high school would be one of
- 1:05Speaker 2: his strengths. He hasn't really shown it thus far, but
- 1:08Speaker 2: if he starts making threes like that, it's going to
- 1:11Speaker 2: be good for UConn.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Bring on the regular season. Thanks, Dan. UConn coach Dan Hurley.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Huskies knock off Purdue 76-53.
