- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm Sean Gunn, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown. The
- 0:25Speaker 1: following feature has been rated R by the Motion Picture
- 0:28Speaker 1: Association of America.
- 0:29Speaker 2: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:43Speaker 1: It's showtime, folks.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Enjoy the show.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:24Speaker 5: To infinity and beyond!
- 1:36Speaker 6: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian. I'm Jacqueline.
- 1:39Speaker 7: I'm Phillip.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I'm David.
- 1:41Speaker 6: And we're coming to you live via digital recording from
- 1:44Speaker 6: Zuzu and Grendel's House of Fun. Yeah. Something to that effect.
- 1:50Speaker 6: They've got like a disco going on, right? At night
- 1:52Speaker 6: it's like a dance club and other dogs come over. Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 6: it's like.
- 1:57Speaker 8: Barbarella, but like, you know.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Nice.
- 1:59Speaker 9: Barkerella.
- 2:00Speaker 6: Barkerella. Oh, quick patent pending.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Go claim that right now.
- 2:06Speaker 6: Dog nightclubs happening. So, we are back for another exciting
- 2:14Speaker 6: Super Series installment. And probably somber. Do we need to
- 2:22Speaker 6: get anything out of the way beforehand? Or should I
- 2:24Speaker 6: just launch into the main bulk? Because we know we're
- 2:27Speaker 6: going to go knee deep into it. So anything else?
- 2:32Speaker 7: The trailers before this movie were not at all exciting.
- 2:35Speaker 7: I don't know what you guys got.
- 2:36Speaker 8: I think I get Mission Impossible for every movie that.
- 2:40Speaker 10: I've seen lately.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Yeah, me too.
- 2:41Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what I see.
- 2:42Speaker 6: But this is what I have to say. Because I
- 2:44Speaker 6: sit there every time watching it and I'm like, you know...
- 2:47Speaker 6: A lot of people have a lot of problems with
- 2:50Speaker 6: our boy, with Tom. I don't give a shit. Like,
- 2:54Speaker 6: I'm watching that trailer, and I'm like, that just looks
- 2:56Speaker 6: like a damn good action movie. Like, I don't care. Like,
- 2:58Speaker 6: those last several, like, it is a weird series that
- 3:02Speaker 6: it took them two clunkers to get out of the gate. Normally,
- 3:06Speaker 6: no one will give you that chance anymore. But by three, like,
- 3:11Speaker 6: they were solid action movies, Tom withstanding. like him or
- 3:15Speaker 6: hate him but like and they got like considerably better
- 3:18Speaker 6: like the more people they brought in they found that
- 3:20Speaker 6: little group and like people kind of like the rest
- 3:23Speaker 6: of the group now so i'm like it is surprising
- 3:26Speaker 6: that they keep making these movies and as action movies go.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Like those last several are pretty damn good so it
- 3:32Speaker 1: felt like fast and furious for your parents to me
- 3:35Speaker 1: like i was just so kids and mission impossible is for.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Your parents i do like when the song kicks in
- 3:41Speaker 6: so Sure. As a 100-year-old person.
- 3:43Speaker 1: That's obviously. The slow remake is in every trailer and
- 3:48Speaker 1: TV show.
- 3:49Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 3:49Speaker 7: And I may go see it just because Simon Pegg's
- 3:51Speaker 7: in it.
- 3:52Speaker 10: See, that's the thing.
- 3:52Speaker 6: Once they added Simon Pegg. I just didn't need to.
- 3:55Speaker 8: Be convinced so much.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Like every single movie.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg. Once you got the little
- 4:00Speaker 6: group together, I'm like, people love these guys.
- 4:02Speaker 1: This is Cavill's first one, right?
- 4:04Speaker 6: Which one?
- 4:05Speaker 4: Mark.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Is it Mark Cavill?
- 4:06Speaker 6: Superman? Henry.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Henry Cavill. Henry.
- 4:08Speaker 6: Well, that's the thing. He's on the other side. Because
- 4:10Speaker 6: that's the other reason. I'm like, I think I'm going
- 4:12Speaker 6: to have to go see it just to stare at
- 4:13Speaker 6: that mustache the whole time.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 4:14Speaker 6: Like the mustache that brought down a DC franchise.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, because it was a mustache as well. Yeah, a
- 4:19Speaker 1: lot of money was spent.
- 4:20Speaker 6: That is the reason. Yeah, it was that movie that
- 4:22Speaker 6: they contractually would not allow him to shave. So that's
- 4:26Speaker 6: why they CG'd his face. And I'm pretty entertained by
- 4:29Speaker 6: just that. And the bathroom fight scene already looks like
- 4:32Speaker 6: so hardcore that They're throwing people through walls and shit.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Like it is so physically impossible. And yet I'm like,
- 4:40Speaker 6: I want to see people get thrown through the wall. Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Like he went through it.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Like I really don't think that's humanly possible, but I
- 4:48Speaker 6: don't give a shit.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I want to see people get thrown through walls.
- 4:52Speaker 7: And in one move, he picks up a guy and
- 4:54Speaker 7: throws him through the mirror, which is.
- 4:56Speaker 6: My favorite though was right before that when we see
- 4:58Speaker 6: Superman and he does the air punch and it makes
- 5:01Speaker 6: a noise.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's like when martial arts crack their gi,
- 5:06Speaker 1: when they kick so hard the gi snaps.
- 5:07Speaker 6: You can almost let it slide in martial arts because
- 5:10Speaker 6: it's a martial arts movie.
- 5:11Speaker 1: But, I mean, it's a Mission Impossible movie.
- 5:13Speaker 6: It's Superman, for God's sakes. Like, is it because he
- 5:16Speaker 6: still has superhuman Kryptonian powers that make him, when he
- 5:20Speaker 6: throws his arms out there?
- 5:21Speaker 1: It was a good shot. I'm not saying it's realistic,
- 5:25Speaker 1: but I was like, damn, he almost looks more impressive
- 5:28Speaker 1: as this dude in the suit than Superman. I genuinely
- 5:32Speaker 1: dislike him as Superman. More than it seemed to do
- 5:35Speaker 1: in the movie. So there you go.
- 5:37Speaker 6: That's the thing. The Mission Impossible aside, my take on
- 5:41Speaker 6: the trailers going in was, oh my God, there's so
- 5:45Speaker 6: many superhero movies.
- 5:46Speaker 11: Yes.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Like every other one was a superhero movie.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I got.
- 5:51Speaker 6: The Incredibles 2, I got Spawn, I got... Spawn or Venom? Venom.
- 5:57Speaker 6: Same difference.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Even though it is coming.
- 5:59Speaker 6: But Spawn is coming too. So yeah, I got Venom,
- 6:02Speaker 6: I got Incredibles 2, I got Deadpool 2, I got...
- 6:08Speaker 6: What else? Like, there was at least one more.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I got the one that was from the Stranger Things guys,
- 6:14Speaker 1: where it's a group of kids. It kind of looked
- 6:16Speaker 1: like the New Mutants a little. A group of kids
- 6:17Speaker 1: running off in the woods to.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I don't know anything about it, but it looked like
- 6:21Speaker 1: New Mutants to me, but I guess from the Stranger
- 6:24Speaker 1: Things guys. If that works, it works.
- 6:26Speaker 6: They're all going to jump on that bandwagon.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I was just like, all right.
- 6:29Speaker 8: Did anybody else get that weird Harry Potter spin-off trailer?
- 6:34Speaker 6: I think that was one. Well, I mean, those are coming.
- 6:38Speaker 6: That first one was like testing the waters, I feel like,
- 6:41Speaker 6: and it made a lot of money. So I don't
- 6:43Speaker 6: think we're getting away from the Wizarding World. I think
- 6:46Speaker 6: it is a new full-on franchise game. Not that it
- 6:49Speaker 6: already wasn't. But I think when people thought they were
- 6:52Speaker 6: wrapping that one up, I think the studio was like, no,
- 6:54Speaker 6: we make way too much money.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I thought it was on JK. I thought she was
- 6:58Speaker 1: the one that was like, I'm not doing any prequels.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm not doing this, this, this, or this. And they're like, well,
- 7:02Speaker 1: let's just do this one movie. And I think they
- 7:05Speaker 1: just leaned on her so hard that. I mean, apparently
- 7:08Speaker 1: she loves Johnny Depp and is like kind of geeking
- 7:11Speaker 1: out and stuff. So yeah, I think.
- 7:13Speaker 6: She's all in now. I did see that half second
- 7:14Speaker 6: of like, oh, is that Johnny Depp?
- 7:14Speaker 1: The moment they showed a young Dumbledore, I'm like, no,
- 7:17Speaker 1: she's in. There's no way she would let a young
- 7:19Speaker 1: Dumbledore in this unless she was all in. So I
- 7:21Speaker 1: think we're getting like seven movies of this.
- 7:23Speaker 6: That is good casting. So I was just like, damn it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Jude Law looks pretty fantastic as Dumbledore.
- 7:28Speaker 6: How are you not going to like Jude Law doing anything?
- 7:30Speaker 6: So like, yeah, I mean, it's. I'm still, like, I
- 7:34Speaker 6: was so late even caring about the Harry Potter movies,
- 7:38Speaker 6: and still I think I'm short at least one. Like,
- 7:41Speaker 6: I remember I watched a bunch of them in a
- 7:43Speaker 6: row just to finally say I'd watched them, so, like,
- 7:46Speaker 6: I'm not your target audience. But, like, even looking at this, like,
- 7:49Speaker 6: that first one I seem kind of bored with. I
- 7:52Speaker 6: don't even, like, even just the trailers, I was like,
- 7:54Speaker 6: I don't want to watch them go catch monsters in
- 7:56Speaker 6: a suitcase. But, like, this one, I'm like, well, at
- 7:58Speaker 6: least it looks like there's actually a story going on here, so.
- 8:03Speaker 6: I think it's such a money machine slapping that title
- 8:07Speaker 6: on it. All you need is Wizarding World of anything
- 8:09Speaker 6: and people are in.
- 8:11Speaker 1: At least it's not a remake. At least they didn't
- 8:16Speaker 1: just go, let's do it again. Because it's just a
- 8:19Speaker 1: matter of time. God help us. It'll be in our
- 8:21Speaker 1: lifetime that we'll see.
- 8:24Speaker 6: I think now that this is rolling, they can coast
- 8:26Speaker 6: on this for a long time. So if this series
- 8:29Speaker 6: finally dies and nobody's making money off of Harry Potter anymore.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Then this is done. It leads into.
- 8:33Speaker 6: Time for a reboot.
- 8:35Speaker 1: You know, since this is.
- 8:36Speaker 6: They could literally.
- 8:36Speaker 1: It's the prequel into... Regardless of what they say, they
- 8:38Speaker 1: could have that very last movie pull a Rogue Squadron
- 8:42Speaker 1: thing and do something that links right back into the
- 8:44Speaker 1: first Harry Potter.
- 8:45Speaker 4: I mean.
- 8:46Speaker 6: And it's like, all right, here we go, guys. It's
- 8:47Speaker 6: what I kind of assumed and still I'm unsure of
- 8:50Speaker 6: what the plan was for the Planet of the Apes.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Because they went so far back in time and then
- 8:56Speaker 6: led almost to where we could almost catch up to
- 9:00Speaker 6: the Charlton Heston version. Because I'm assuming they're forgetting that
- 9:04Speaker 6: Tim Burton never happened. But everything else they set up
- 9:07Speaker 6: in this is just sort of a modernized version of
- 9:10Speaker 6: what would have led to The Heston version.
- 9:12Speaker 12: Down the line.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Without a critical claim from that last movie. They could
- 9:16Speaker 1: do whatever they want to do, really.
- 9:18Speaker 7: I just always assumed that was the plan.
- 9:22Speaker 6: I kind of wonder if now they're going to find
- 9:25Speaker 6: whoever the new Heston is going to be and try
- 9:29Speaker 6: to reboot from that point again, which didn't work so
- 9:32Speaker 6: well last time. They strayed pretty far last time. I don't.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Know.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So any other trailers?
- 9:45Speaker 6: All right. Then let's get rolling on this one.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Get more out of life. Go out to a movie.
- 9:50Speaker 3: There was an idea. To bring together a.
- 9:54Speaker 13: Group of remarkable people.
- 9:57Speaker 10: To see if we could become something more.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So when they needed us, we could fight the battles.
- 10:26Speaker 10: That they never could.
- 10:27Speaker 3: In time.
- 10:47Speaker 14: You will know what it's like to lose. To feel
- 10:51Speaker 14: so desperately that you're right, yet to fail all the same.
- 11:01Speaker 14: Dread it.
- 11:04Speaker 10: Run from it.
- 11:06Speaker 14: Destiny still arrives.
- 11:17Speaker 10: Evacuate the city.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Engage all defenses. And get this man a shield.
- 11:29Speaker 15: The entire time I knew him, he only ever had
- 11:33Speaker 15: one goal. To wipe out half the universe. If he
- 11:41Speaker 15: gets all the Infinity Stones, he can do it with
- 11:44Speaker 15: the snap of his fingers.
- 11:46Speaker 14: Just like that.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Tell me his name again.
- 11:50Speaker 6: Thanos.
- 12:00Speaker 14: We got one advantage.
- 12:02Speaker 7: He's coming to us.
- 12:06Speaker 1: We have what Thanos wants. So that's what we use.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Let's talk about this plan of yours.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I think it's good, except it sucks. So let me
- 12:22Speaker 1: do the.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Plan and that way it might be really good.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Wow.
- 12:34Speaker 14: The end is near. When I'm done, of humanity will
- 12:46Speaker 14: still exist. Perfectly balanced. As all things should be. I
- 13:05Speaker 14: hope they remember you.
- 13:26Speaker 6: I'm Peter, by the way. Doctor Strange.
- 13:28Speaker 8: Oh, you're using your made-up names.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Then I am Spider-Man.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Infinity, infinity How.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Can I reach infinity?
- 13:48Speaker 4: Well, I count up all day And.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Then one more just to see.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Alright, we have once again gone out on the town.
- 14:05Speaker 6: This week's out on the town feature is Avengers colon
- 14:08Speaker 6: Infinity War. The year is 2018. The directors are Anthony
- 14:13Speaker 6: Russo and Joe Russo. And they plot according to IMDb.
- 14:17Speaker 6: Have you guys read this?
- 14:18Speaker 1: I just read it earlier today. I never read these.
- 14:21Speaker 6: I never do until I have to read it on
- 14:23Speaker 6: here and I'm like, what?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Okay, whatever.
- 14:25Speaker 6: Alright, it says... I mean, not wrong, but that's a
- 14:29Speaker 6: weird way to word the plot of this movie. So,
- 14:46Speaker 6: spoiler alert, we're going to run the hell out of this.
- 14:48Speaker 7: I don't think you can talk about this movie without
- 14:51Speaker 7: spoiling it.
- 14:51Speaker 1: At all, really.
- 14:52Speaker 6: And here's, that's the thing. I was going to say,
- 14:55Speaker 6: leading off, because this was my intro to it going
- 14:58Speaker 6: into the theater, because it was pretty, again, I tried
- 15:01Speaker 6: to not pay attention to the internet for Thursday night, Friday,
- 15:04Speaker 6: and then I was going Saturday morning. So I get there,
- 15:07Speaker 6: one of the first showings, and I go up there
- 15:10Speaker 6: with my ticket, and the dude taking the tickets, I
- 15:12Speaker 6: could tell, is kind of a geek. like, he just,
- 15:14Speaker 6: I mean, all of them working in a theater, a
- 15:15Speaker 6: little bit of a geek, but he was like, he
- 15:17Speaker 6: was the target audience kind of geek, and he goes,
- 15:20Speaker 6: he takes it, looks at it, and goes, now, if
- 15:23Speaker 6: you need to cry in the first few minutes, it's okay,
- 15:27Speaker 6: and I was like, hell, probably the whole movie, and
- 15:29Speaker 6: then just walked in, so I'm like, already, I'm like, yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 6: I assumed they were going to just go ahead and
- 15:34Speaker 6: kick things off in that way, and no, not to disappoint,
- 15:40Speaker 6: but Yeah, the other end of that deal is afterwards,
- 15:44Speaker 6: not to jump all the way past the end, but
- 15:46Speaker 6: the whole rest of the day, it's just like, man.
- 15:50Speaker 6: It was just like, could never quite get out of
- 15:52Speaker 6: that funk of like, that was heavy.
- 15:55Speaker 1: My whole rest of the day was like, I feel
- 15:59Speaker 1: like I was constantly thinking about that also. No matter
- 16:02Speaker 1: what I was cooking or doing, in my head, I
- 16:04Speaker 1: was still just replaying scenes and dialogue. It was stuck
- 16:08Speaker 1: in my head. I had to see it a second
- 16:09Speaker 1: time just to like, process it i felt like it
- 16:13Speaker 1: was kind of reminds me that part of my day
- 16:15Speaker 1: is when he says like too many notes i was
- 16:17Speaker 1: just like there's too much going on i literally i'm
- 16:20Speaker 1: trying i'm not distracted i'm trying to take this movie
- 16:23Speaker 1: in and there's so much i couldn't it took two
- 16:26Speaker 1: viewings second viewing i noticed so much more it was
- 16:28Speaker 1: like even more of a wreck like it's even heavier
- 16:31Speaker 1: the second time for me.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Well as soon as the credits started rolling my wife
- 16:35Speaker 7: was like so what'd you think of the movie and
- 16:37Speaker 7: i'm like.
- 16:37Speaker 6: I need five minutes at least to process.
- 16:41Speaker 1: What the hell just happened.
- 16:42Speaker 6: First of all, it's not over yet.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Imagine if you're like, someone dies right in front of
- 16:45Speaker 1: you and you're like, are you okay? And it's like,
- 16:46Speaker 1: it just happened. It just happened. You got to let
- 16:49Speaker 1: me process this grief.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Everything just fell apart. Give me a minute.
- 16:54Speaker 1: And there's more coming and I know it.
- 16:56Speaker 8: I think they did a good job though of like, yeah,
- 16:58Speaker 8: there was, it was so dense of information and plots
- 17:03Speaker 8: and just everything coming at you. But I, Did not
- 17:06Speaker 8: have a problem following any of it. I mean, maybe
- 17:08Speaker 8: that's just because I'm, you know, so in it.
- 17:10Speaker 1: You're knee deep into it already.
- 17:11Speaker 8: Yeah, but I just felt like they did a really
- 17:14Speaker 8: good job just weaving everything and giving each scene enough
- 17:18Speaker 8: time to go to its proper ending before cutting to
- 17:22Speaker 8: something else.
- 17:23Speaker 6: I was going to say, like, it was midway in,
- 17:25Speaker 6: and I'm like, yeah, again, you're kind of overwhelmed at
- 17:28Speaker 6: that point. But I was just like, suddenly sort of
- 17:30Speaker 6: the real world kicked in, and I just sat there
- 17:32Speaker 6: in awe of, like, how many freaking actors are in
- 17:35Speaker 6: this and like a list huge name and i'm like
- 17:40Speaker 6: everybody like they've brought so many in over these last
- 17:43Speaker 6: decade that i'm just like good god just the amount
- 17:47Speaker 6: of orchestration to get this many people that are this
- 17:50Speaker 6: huge in the industry in the same place at the
- 17:52Speaker 6: same time just to be in the same movie even
- 17:55Speaker 6: though half of them are shooting in different locations like
- 17:58Speaker 6: still that's probably more complicated to not have them in
- 18:01Speaker 6: the same room to have him in Atlanta and wherever
- 18:03Speaker 6: the hell they were shooting all the international scenes and
- 18:06Speaker 6: like good god it was just kind of overwhelming for
- 18:09Speaker 6: a minute of real world of like there's so many
- 18:12Speaker 6: people in this movie and that that's what I was
- 18:14Speaker 6: gonna say to your point like I it it did
- 18:17Speaker 6: actually hold up really well like I don't think and
- 18:20Speaker 6: as you said that I was like what if you
- 18:21Speaker 6: hadn't seen like what if you just came in blind
- 18:23Speaker 6: or maybe you saw the first Avengers movie and like
- 18:26Speaker 6: now you're checking back in I'm like I think the
- 18:29Speaker 6: only thing that's going to throw you for a huge
- 18:31Speaker 6: loop is the Guardians. It's like a separate streamline of like...
- 18:37Speaker 6: Nick hadn't.
- 18:37Speaker 8: Seen any of the Guardians and he followed it just fine.
- 18:40Speaker 6: First of all, we're going to have to have a
- 18:41Speaker 6: talk with you.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Because what the hell is his deal?
- 18:45Speaker 8: I've been trying to be like, you want to see
- 18:48Speaker 8: it now?
- 18:50Speaker 1: Grab him and shake him.
- 18:51Speaker 8: Because, you know, he was like, oh, it looks so
- 18:53Speaker 8: kind of like childish and like, you know.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Cheap or whatever.
- 18:56Speaker 6: And awesome.
- 18:59Speaker 8: But now, finally, because he loved Rocket so much, and Drax,
- 19:04Speaker 8: he loved Drax so much that I was like.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I can't wait for the next movie. Because it'll be
- 19:09Speaker 1: more of Thor and Rocket. Rocket's the only one that
- 19:12Speaker 1: made it from Guardians, so you know he's going to
- 19:13Speaker 1: kick it with Thor.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And I'm thinking Groot did.
- 19:17Speaker 8: Go, right?
- 19:18Speaker 6: Yeah, Groot did.
- 19:19Speaker 14: Yeah, Groot.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I'm sure that whatever happens next, though, Rocket's going to
- 19:23Speaker 1: be kicking it with Thor more, and I can't wait.
- 19:25Speaker 1: They were so fantastic together.
- 19:26Speaker 6: They were great together.
- 19:27Speaker 7: It clicked so well. Going back to the first Thor movie,
- 19:33Speaker 7: I could not have pictured Thor being such a likable character.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Easy to team up with someone like that and fun
- 19:44Speaker 6: Even in the first one, he's charismatic. You understand why
- 19:47Speaker 6: he got the lead, but he was never fun. It's
- 19:50Speaker 6: not a fun movie. You jump to the third one,
- 19:53Speaker 6: he's freaking hilarious. He is so much fun by the
- 19:56Speaker 6: third one. And even Age of Ultron, he kind of
- 19:58Speaker 6: starts to loosen up a little bit. It's a slow
- 20:02Speaker 6: journey for Thor to get this much fun.
- 20:04Speaker 7: I think they must have realized that, okay, yeah, this
- 20:06Speaker 7: guy can carry... A joke.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Ghostbusters.
- 20:09Speaker 7: Yeah. No, seriously.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Ghostbusters happened, and then Ragnarok got completely flipped. They're like, no,
- 20:15Speaker 1: this is going to be comedy.
- 20:17Speaker 7: But when you were going back to when you were
- 20:20Speaker 7: talking about all the people that are in the movie,
- 20:23Speaker 7: that was the first thing I noticed during the credits,
- 20:25Speaker 7: where you get, in a big movie like this, you
- 20:28Speaker 7: get the individual names of the big stars, and you
- 20:30Speaker 7: might get five or six. And this one, it just
- 20:33Speaker 7: kept going.
- 20:33Speaker 6: It just kept going.
- 20:34Speaker 7: Kept going and going, you know.
- 20:36Speaker 6: And then, again, not to jump to the end, but
- 20:38Speaker 6: then I kept going, okay, dead? Dead. I was like, no, no, wait,
- 20:43Speaker 6: he's still there.
- 20:43Speaker 1: He's still there. All the side movies died. The core
- 20:45Speaker 1: of four Avengers are still alive, but every side movie died.
- 20:49Speaker 1: All the Guardians except Rocket. Strange is gone. Black Panther
- 20:52Speaker 1: is gone. You lost all the side, and still everyone,
- 20:55Speaker 1: but that's because.
- 20:56Speaker 6: He's going to be a bridge. And that's going to
- 20:57Speaker 6: be weird because the way I read, or what I
- 21:00Speaker 6: saw the other day, and this might not be true,
- 21:02Speaker 6: but they were saying it's going to, because I'm like,
- 21:05Speaker 6: how can any other side movie take place after this?
- 21:07Speaker 1: We're about to have prequels.
- 21:08Speaker 6: But that's what, yeah.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Marvel's confirmed to be a prequel, too. Captain Marvel, again, internet.
- 21:14Speaker 1: It's filming, and her first outfit is the early prototype outfit,
- 21:18Speaker 1: which would have been in the 90s. So they're like,
- 21:20Speaker 1: they're going to establish that she's been around all this time.
- 21:23Speaker 1: But it's probably been the Avengers representative in space and
- 21:26Speaker 1: has been out doing solo stuff.
- 21:28Speaker 6: At least outside of the planet.
- 21:29Speaker 1: So the stinger is him calling her home like, get
- 21:31Speaker 1: your ass back here. But in the comic world, she's
- 21:34Speaker 1: another Tony Stark. She is a leader. She's not like
- 21:38Speaker 1: B grade. She's a big deal.
- 21:40Speaker 6: Which is obviously what they need going forward.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And I hope Guardians will pull out Adam Warlock now.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Now you just, you don't need a Guardians movie, but
- 21:48Speaker 1: have Adam show up like, I know Thanos because I'm
- 21:51Speaker 1: as old as him. I think the next movie could
- 21:54Speaker 1: be really fucking exciting still.
- 21:55Speaker 7: I'm surprised he wasn't in this.
- 21:58Speaker 1: Me too.
- 21:59Speaker 6: They were setting it up, but again, I feel like
- 22:01Speaker 6: isn't that coming in the next one?
- 22:03Speaker 1: That was the stinger at Guardian, so I don't know.
- 22:05Speaker 6: That's why I wonder if.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But it feels right now.
- 22:08Speaker 6: Now I'm like, oh, I get it.
- 22:09Speaker 1: That would make sense if he shows up now.
- 22:11Speaker 6: Because the next Guardians isn't until after part two of this, right?
- 22:15Speaker 9: Right.
- 22:16Speaker 6: So that's what, yeah.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Because this one's next summer.
- 22:17Speaker 6: It's one year. Whatever the main golden lady is, they
- 22:21Speaker 6: just confirmed she's definitely back for the next Guardians movie.
- 22:24Speaker 6: But I don't know that it's tying into this one.
- 22:26Speaker 6: So I don't know if they're saving him for past that.
- 22:29Speaker 6: But again, it seems like you kind of need him
- 22:31Speaker 6: to finish off the Thanos thing.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Even if it's just... You know, him to show up
- 22:36Speaker 1: on screen and just be an informant.
- 22:37Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 22:37Speaker 1: You know, because in the comic, he is one that
- 22:40Speaker 1: leads the fight against Thanos. But in movie realm, it
- 22:43Speaker 1: would still make sense that he's like, no, I'm as
- 22:44Speaker 1: old as him. Let me tell you about him and
- 22:46Speaker 1: how he works. And not that we didn't get that.
- 22:48Speaker 1: This movie should have been called Thanos Infinity War.
- 22:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I don't understand why they called it Avengers. Seriously, it
- 22:53Speaker 1: should have been Thanos colon Infinity War. This was a
- 22:56Speaker 1: movie about him.
- 22:57Speaker 6: It's his movie.
- 22:57Speaker 1: And watching it a second time. I have no doubt.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I mean, the beginning and end, it's about him. It's
- 23:04Speaker 1: about him. He declares out the gate, this is what
- 23:05Speaker 1: I'm going to do. This is what I'm about. And
- 23:07Speaker 1: the end is him. I did it. The end. It's
- 23:10Speaker 1: all about him.
- 23:10Speaker 7: He was the only character that got any real development
- 23:13Speaker 7: in this movie, which I get. You had all the
- 23:16Speaker 7: other movies that developed the other characters. And if you
- 23:18Speaker 7: had any more character development in those movies or in
- 23:21Speaker 7: this movie, it would have been twice as long.
- 23:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 7: Is what it was.
- 23:25Speaker 6: That is something I realized going in, and maybe it's just,
- 23:28Speaker 6: because I still feel like we spent a good amount
- 23:30Speaker 6: of time with some of them, but that midway point
- 23:32Speaker 6: when Captain America resurfaces, I'm like, man, we have not
- 23:37Speaker 6: seen him for a long time. And then even by
- 23:40Speaker 6: the end, I was like, he had some cool scenes,
- 23:43Speaker 6: but I'm like, we didn't.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Really spend time with him or kind of anyone in
- 23:47Speaker 1: that crew.
- 23:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:48Speaker 6: We just saw good fight scenes with him, but there
- 23:50Speaker 6: wasn't a ton where at least like Tony Stark we
- 23:53Speaker 6: spent a good amount of time with, kind of Doctor Strange,
- 23:55Speaker 6: but like that second group that came in, it's like
- 23:59Speaker 6: we just kind of saw the action scenes.
- 24:01Speaker 8: Thor we got a good amount of.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Yeah. The Guardians we got a good amount of time with.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Thor grew a lot.
- 24:06Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 1: After watching it, like he's. Again, with a second viewing,
- 24:09Speaker 1: I didn't even realize that axe is beast mode. When
- 24:12Speaker 1: he has the full gauntlet and he shoots a beam
- 24:14Speaker 1: with the full gauntlet, that axe goes through that beam
- 24:17Speaker 1: and hits him in the chest. You realize Thor's getting
- 24:19Speaker 1: a huge push. He's going to be the main dude
- 24:23Speaker 1: hacking on him, I think, in the next movie.
- 24:28Speaker 8: That brings up my main gripe with inconsistency in this
- 24:35Speaker 8: movie is that If Thor was able to do, like, just, ah,
- 24:41Speaker 8: that whole scene of just, like, vision and just, like, Thanos, like,
- 24:46Speaker 8: slowly creeping over and taking people out. It's like, oh, Thor,
- 24:50Speaker 8: you were able to, like, just, like, lightning over at
- 24:53Speaker 8: any point and you just didn't.
- 24:55Speaker 6: Just let him kill off some more people. It's fine.
- 24:59Speaker 8: That was my one, I was like, oh, how convenient
- 25:01Speaker 8: that you wait until everything is done before you show
- 25:04Speaker 8: up with your axe.
- 25:06Speaker 1: The finale, you know. I think it's neat. He can
- 25:09Speaker 1: buy Frost now. That changes him. He can teleport on
- 25:13Speaker 1: his own now with the axe. So he can be
- 25:14Speaker 1: anywhere in the universe he needs to be. I don't know.
- 25:17Speaker 1: There was a lot of stuff in the second viewing
- 25:20Speaker 1: where I'm just like.
- 25:23Speaker 1: You can just kind of see where the next move...
- 25:24Speaker 1: I think Vision's not dead. He's a machine. Tony Stark and...
- 25:27Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel it. Q from Black Panther.
- 25:31Speaker 1: His little sister. They will figure out a way to
- 25:33Speaker 1: put him... Some version, he won't be as powerful. But
- 25:35Speaker 1: Vision will be back, I think, too. There's still a
- 25:39Speaker 1: big squad. Like I said, the four core Avengers are
- 25:41Speaker 1: all still alive.
- 25:43Speaker 6: That was the thing that originally going through, because you
- 25:47Speaker 6: get to the big end, and again, we don't even
- 25:50Speaker 6: have to go into that yet, but I was like,
- 25:52Speaker 6: we killed off several people before you get to the
- 25:55Speaker 6: finale thing.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Those I wonder about.
- 25:56Speaker 6: So I'm like, come on.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Those I do wonder about.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Loki.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Loki? Like right off the bat, Loki. That beginning, I
- 26:02Speaker 1: love that fight. And I've heard a lot of gripes
- 26:04Speaker 1: because it was kind of an Aliens 3, which I
- 26:07Speaker 1: completely understand. If you just watched Thor Ragnarok, fucking sorry.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Because in the first 10 minutes, we just wiped out
- 26:14Speaker 1: all those people. Everything that happened. Even your big anthem
- 26:17Speaker 1: of Asgard is a people. Well, then Asgard's dead now.
- 26:22Speaker 1: As heavy as it was, though, even out the gate
- 26:25Speaker 1: that moment with Loki, Loki legit turned. With a second viewing,
- 26:28Speaker 1: I realized he could have let Thor die. And I
- 26:31Speaker 1: know it's like, yeah, it's Loki and Thor and all that,
- 26:33Speaker 1: but he legit could have let him die. And because
- 26:38Speaker 1: he was going to kill Thor, I don't know. It
- 26:40Speaker 1: was just, to me, it was well-written because I thought
- 26:43Speaker 1: he was just going to kind of die like a weasel.
- 26:45Speaker 1: And I was like, no, he legit died kind of
- 26:47Speaker 1: with honor. Like he died to save Thor, who was
- 26:50Speaker 1: going to be the dude that's going to kill this
- 26:52Speaker 1: guy later.
- 26:52Speaker 6: Like, I don't know. Well, I mean, even before that,
- 26:57Speaker 6: and I always forget his name, the Itraselba.
- 27:00Speaker 8: Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 7: That was the character that got me the most.
- 27:04Speaker 6: He was already wounded. I'm like, oh, he's gone. I
- 27:07Speaker 6: assumed at least you're going to take because, number one,
- 27:11Speaker 6: because all those other Asgardians we don't know, we don't
- 27:13Speaker 6: care about. At least that character we know.
- 27:15Speaker 7: We know, yeah.
- 27:16Speaker 6: So when Thanos goes over and kills him, we know
- 27:18Speaker 6: there's some sort of stakes.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Even the Valkyrie check.
- 27:21Speaker 6: I'm like. Yeah. I guess she, we didn't even see.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Everyone, if you can't breathe in space, you dead.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And I think they established that with Loki because he
- 27:29Speaker 1: choked him out first. I'm like, well, Loki's dead too. Literally,
- 27:32Speaker 1: everyone in Thor Ragnarok is gone.
- 27:34Speaker 10: Maybe.
- 27:35Speaker 8: But Idris Elba, I just felt like the way that
- 27:37Speaker 8: he was like, let me do this for Hulk. One
- 27:40Speaker 8: last time, I was like, how many other people was
- 27:42Speaker 8: he blasting off that ship?
- 27:44Speaker 1: We don't know.
- 27:45Speaker 8: I feel like that could be one of those sneaky
- 27:46Speaker 8: little marvels.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Later, they'll flash back and be like, oh, we didn't
- 27:50Speaker 6: see this scene.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I feel like they're going to pull, be a dork here,
- 27:53Speaker 1: like a Dragon Ball Z kind of loop where they
- 27:56Speaker 1: made a wish to bring back everyone that frieza had
- 28:00Speaker 1: killed and they kind of did this thing we're like
- 28:01Speaker 1: well people that would have died of of like emotional
- 28:05Speaker 1: loss and things like that will come back too right
- 28:08Speaker 1: i wonder if in the end i feel like ultimately
- 28:10Speaker 1: it's going to be a time gem reality gem combo
- 28:13Speaker 1: yeah they are i'm hoping it's bringing back everyone that
- 28:15Speaker 1: thanos killed not just from the gauntlet but You know,
- 28:19Speaker 1: let's hit a bit of a soft reset with everything
- 28:21Speaker 1: that you fucking did that day.
- 28:22Speaker 6: That's what I was going to say. I was like,
- 28:23Speaker 6: if they just reverse time back to that second before
- 28:26Speaker 6: he hits the button, you know, it's like, we still
- 28:29Speaker 6: have lost Loki.
- 28:30Speaker 1: We've still lost Gamora.
- 28:32Speaker 6: We've still lost Vision.
- 28:33Speaker 10: Everyone on that ship.
- 28:34Speaker 6: Everyone. Korg and the Valkyrie. All of these huge characters.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Are gone, which, again, like, maybe they could do.
- 28:41Speaker 6: But I think it's also going to be difficult moving
- 28:45Speaker 6: on the Guardians thing. road without Gamora. Especially since I
- 28:49Speaker 6: just heard they're kind of making her.
- 28:51Speaker 1: She's in that stone. If her soul was traded to
- 28:54Speaker 1: get that stone, her essence is in that stone and
- 28:58Speaker 1: she's going to come back to have something to do
- 28:59Speaker 1: with Thanos' downfall too. She'll resist into stone or have
- 29:02Speaker 1: something to do with the gauntlet knight doing something. The
- 29:06Speaker 1: sisters will play a fucking part. Nebula's still around and
- 29:10Speaker 1: Gamora's in that.
- 29:11Speaker 7: They did say she knows something Thanos... doesn't but that
- 29:14Speaker 7: was the location yeah but i don't think it's more
- 29:16Speaker 7: that was the actual thing i think there's something else
- 29:20Speaker 7: and uh yeah because that was my concern it was
- 29:22Speaker 7: like okay because obviously they're gonna you know spider-man's not
- 29:25Speaker 7: dead forever uh right you.
- 29:27Speaker 6: Know since they're already well that that was my thing
- 29:30Speaker 6: i was like my real world version of this is
- 29:34Speaker 6: they just and again this is internet so it could
- 29:36Speaker 6: all be made up but supposedly it was coming from
- 29:38Speaker 6: james gunn saying the next guardians movie they're going to
- 29:42Speaker 6: be giving a lot more the focus to gamora that
- 29:45Speaker 6: she's maybe going to kind of start leading the group
- 29:48Speaker 6: instead of star lord assuming star lord's still around So, again, obviously,
- 29:53Speaker 6: I'm like, well, that's... That's.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Not too far off at a comment, because even though
- 29:54Speaker 1: they're super close, it's more that she wears the pants
- 29:57Speaker 1: in a relationship kind of dynamic anyway, so.
- 30:00Speaker 7: But, well, my concern, though, was that the characters before
- 30:04Speaker 7: he got all the stones might not be... are the
- 30:07Speaker 7: ones that are least likely to come back.
- 30:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 7: Like Gamora and Loki.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:11Speaker 7: Even though I can't see Loki being dead forever either, but.
- 30:14Speaker 6: Again, they've already played that card once. That's a continual
- 30:18Speaker 6: thing that I'm annoyed with in this Marvel series. Twice.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Because they say in the movie, he's already faked his
- 30:22Speaker 1: death twice.
- 30:23Speaker 6: Well, yeah. But I'm saying even that one was like, okay,
- 30:26Speaker 6: we assume he's out of the series. So any other time,
- 30:30Speaker 6: I wasn't convinced. But that time, they wrote him out
- 30:33Speaker 6: for Dark whatever. The hell is the second movie called?
- 30:38Speaker 1: Of what?
- 30:39Speaker 6: Thor.
- 30:40Speaker 14: Dark.
- 30:40Speaker 7: Oh, Dark World?
- 30:41Speaker 6: Dark World. I think.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Dark Stone.
- 30:43Speaker 6: Dark Stone. Anyway, when they killed him off, and we
- 30:46Speaker 6: were supposed to assume that he was actually written out.
- 30:49Speaker 6: But again, that one was just fan popularity of like, no,
- 30:52Speaker 6: people freaking love Loki. You got to bring him back.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know.
- 30:56Speaker 6: I just kind of hate when they play that card
- 30:57Speaker 6: and then back out.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I never bought it, I guess.
- 30:59Speaker 14: Yeah, I didn't either, really.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I feel like there's a lot of people that just,
- 31:01Speaker 1: I never, I don't care what you say about the
- 31:02Speaker 1: actors in Conjuring. I was like, I don't buy it.
- 31:05Speaker 1: loki's dead in that situation at all so i was.
- 31:07Speaker 8: Thinking about this group when i was walking away like
- 31:11Speaker 8: how many times we've complained about them like coming up
- 31:15Speaker 8: with all these magic tricks of like why people aren't
- 31:17Speaker 8: dead and i was like well i think they listened
- 31:19Speaker 8: to the podcast and i think they were like.
- 31:22Speaker 6: How do you like that which if that were the
- 31:25Speaker 6: case i mean even even what they did this time
- 31:28Speaker 6: i'm like even if even knowing that they're gonna back
- 31:32Speaker 6: their way out of majority of what they did I'm
- 31:34Speaker 6: still like, this was a pretty heavy way to end
- 31:37Speaker 6: your movie. Your huge 10 years in the making tentpole
- 31:42Speaker 6: studio release. I don't understand how they got the okay.
- 31:45Speaker 6: I guess just because they had so much money behind them.
- 31:48Speaker 6: But I cannot believe some studio person didn't go, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 31:51Speaker 6: you're going to do what? And then a year before
- 31:55Speaker 6: we get to wrap any of this up? Again, that's
- 31:58Speaker 6: to me impressive that the Russo brothers or whoever had
- 32:02Speaker 6: enough like clout to be like nope here's what we're
- 32:05Speaker 6: playing like here's the card we're laying down at the
- 32:07Speaker 6: end of this movie so i don't know i'm.
- 32:10Speaker 7: Just curious if they're gonna bring them all back at
- 32:13Speaker 7: once yeah or if it's gonna be something that's gonna
- 32:15Speaker 7: be another 10 years and oh look star lord's back
- 32:18Speaker 7: oh look you're spider-man yeah oh look here's gruden whoever
- 32:21Speaker 7: they could.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Play the multiverse card here for your transition yeah because
- 32:25Speaker 1: in the comic there's a female thor now In the comic,
- 32:28Speaker 1: there is a young African-American girl that's Iron Man, so
- 32:31Speaker 1: you could have Black Panther's little sister maybe become the new...
- 32:34Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of options here. Because I
- 32:35Speaker 1: do love her.
- 32:36Speaker 6: That would be awesome.
- 32:37Speaker 1: To do a smooth transition into your next-gen Avengers as
- 32:40Speaker 1: you bring back all your side people.
- 32:42Speaker 6: And even in this universe, we're going to be acknowledging
- 32:44Speaker 6: the multiverse because the Spider-Man movie comes out at the
- 32:46Speaker 6: end of this year. So animated, but it's still part
- 32:49Speaker 6: of the official universe, so.
- 32:52Speaker 7: So which Spider-Man is this, though? Is it Peter Parker?
- 32:55Speaker 7: Is it one of the many others?
- 32:56Speaker 6: It's the other guy. What's the main?
- 32:58Speaker 1: Miles Morales.
- 32:58Speaker 6: Yeah, Miles is going to be the animated version of
- 33:01Speaker 6: Spider-Man that comes out in, like, December or something this year.
- 33:05Speaker 6: but it's the alternate universe.
- 33:07Speaker 1: There's too many spiders in the comic there's a lot
- 33:09Speaker 1: there really is there really is like six or eight
- 33:12Speaker 1: there's like a dozen of them there's a comic now
- 33:14Speaker 1: it's just about the spiders being sent off on their
- 33:16Speaker 1: own missions and it's like this is way too much
- 33:18Speaker 1: it'd be like if there was a dozen jokers it's
- 33:20Speaker 1: like stop it.
- 33:21Speaker 6: Oddly confusing like the idea to begin with was kind
- 33:24Speaker 6: of cool and they took it a few different places
- 33:27Speaker 6: with like bringing them all into the same battle at
- 33:28Speaker 6: the same time but like Just in general, when I
- 33:31Speaker 6: see that animated Spider-Man series, I'm just like, this is
- 33:34Speaker 6: just too much, guys.
- 33:35Speaker 1: There's way too much shit going on here. This Spider-Man
- 33:39Speaker 1: writer seems like they're just spinning their wheels with Venom
- 33:41Speaker 1: and Carnage and trying to create new... I love Gwen, Spider-Gwen.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I love it, but there's still a part of me
- 33:48Speaker 1: at the same time is like, but there's so many
- 33:50Speaker 1: Spider-People now, though. God, I don't know.
- 33:54Speaker 8: Can I just say, when.
- 33:57Speaker 8: Thanos calls Spider-Man an insect. I was like, that kid
- 34:02Speaker 8: would have made a joke about how he's actually an arachnid.
- 34:04Speaker 7: Right.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Insect!
- 34:06Speaker 6: He is a nerd. You'd think he would, yeah.
- 34:09Speaker 8: He didn't.
- 34:11Speaker 6: And it did, like, I guess it didn't occur to
- 34:13Speaker 6: me until, like, whoever brought it up, when they were
- 34:17Speaker 6: doing the recap there, they're like, wait, we've got an
- 34:20Speaker 6: ant and a spider now? Yeah. And I was like, yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 6: that is pretty silly.
- 34:24Speaker 1: It was Hulk, wasn't it? I think it was Banner.
- 34:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:25Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 6: He's like, I went out of the loop. That's something
- 34:29Speaker 6: eventually I was going to have to get to is like, okay,
- 34:31Speaker 6: we were all teased on that one, right?
- 34:35Speaker 1: In the trailer, we.
- 34:37Speaker 6: See Hulk running through the battle. That was just a
- 34:40Speaker 6: CG scam for us.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Yeah, they had them all lined up running out there.
- 34:44Speaker 6: Because after that first battle, we never get Hulk in
- 34:48Speaker 6: this movie. We get Hulkbuster, but we never get Hulk again.
- 34:53Speaker 6: What happened?
- 35:00Speaker 10: Whiteface!
- 35:01Speaker 7: Whiteface!
- 35:01Speaker 2: Get it off!
- 35:04Speaker 7: How's this dude still alive?
- 35:05Speaker 1: He is not a dude.
- 35:08Speaker 14: You're a dude.
- 35:10Speaker 3: This.
- 35:11Speaker 6: This is a man.
- 35:13Speaker 1: A handsome, muscular man. It's like his muscles are made
- 35:19Speaker 1: of Cotati metal fibers.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Stop massaging his muscles.
- 35:24Speaker 14: Wake him up.
- 35:26Speaker 13: Whoa!
- 35:38Speaker 1: Who are you guys i kind of wish they wouldn't
- 35:40Speaker 1: have shown thor in the trailers now too because i
- 35:42Speaker 1: feel like that that until the guardians show up i
- 35:45Speaker 1: think that very beginning you would have after a second
- 35:48Speaker 1: viewing everyone's running around like thor is dead thor is
- 35:51Speaker 1: dead but as a viewer i'm like no i've seen
- 35:53Speaker 1: the trailer so it never landed at any point i'm
- 35:56Speaker 1: like Five, ten years from now, when someone with no
- 35:58Speaker 1: idea sits down to watch this, they're going to be like, oh, shit,
- 36:01Speaker 1: they just killed Thor. That would have really landed if
- 36:04Speaker 1: they would have took that out of the trailer.
- 36:05Speaker 6: I mean, that's true almost every time. That's what we
- 36:08Speaker 6: said about Ragnarok, too. There's no excuse for them to
- 36:10Speaker 6: show hope. Except they knew it would sell a billion
- 36:13Speaker 6: extra tickets.
- 36:14Speaker 1: If you watch that movie and try to wipe your
- 36:16Speaker 1: mind of that, that would be mind-blowing for the Hulk
- 36:19Speaker 1: to show up right there.
- 36:20Speaker 6: It's such a great reveal.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Again, five, ten years from now, someone's going to geek
- 36:23Speaker 1: the fuck out watching these movies.
- 36:25Speaker 7: I was sitting in a theater during Ragnarok thinking, oh,
- 36:27Speaker 7: this is where the Hulk shows up.
- 36:29Speaker 6: I wish I didn't know that. Yeah. What's Taika? This
- 36:35Speaker 6: was side note, but I saw it today and thought
- 36:38Speaker 6: it was so damn funny. If you don't follow him,
- 36:41Speaker 6: just go add our director of Ragnarok to your Twitter
- 36:44Speaker 6: feed because today he was like, he posted a picture
- 36:49Speaker 6: of a Rubbermaid glove with six-sided dyes of various colors
- 36:56Speaker 6: glued to the knuckles. Here's the new glove. It looks
- 37:01Speaker 6: so great. Just a ghetto knockoff piece of crap. This
- 37:05Speaker 6: is coming from the director of Ragnarok that he I
- 37:08Speaker 6: assume put this together himself or stole the photo from
- 37:11Speaker 6: somebody else. Either way, it's just funny that that was
- 37:13Speaker 6: on its feet of like, here's the new marketing coming
- 37:16Speaker 6: out for the glove. Like, oh my God, that's hilarious.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Oh, Taika.
- 37:21Speaker 6: He's pretty damn funny. I got to give him credit. Sidebar.
- 37:26Speaker 1: So again, we've jumped around a lot.
- 37:28Speaker 6: I wanted to get into like kind of once we
- 37:31Speaker 6: get past the initial killing everyone, like.
- 37:34Speaker 1: That first section....
- 37:36Speaker 6: I'm pretty sold on just the New York, like dealing
- 37:41Speaker 6: with Tony Stark in Doctor Strange and then Spider-Man. That
- 37:45Speaker 6: in and of itself is kind of a pretty entertaining
- 37:48Speaker 6: little mini section.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Ebony Maw was incredible. Ebony Maw I thought was fantastic.
- 37:55Speaker 1: The wizard dude was so good.
- 37:57Speaker 16: All of his talking, he was so great. He's somewhere
- 38:00Speaker 16: between Snope and the Voldemort. Like he's just a weird
- 38:08Speaker 16: looking and Squidward.
- 38:10Speaker 6: That was a great, good job. Like again, they always
- 38:14Speaker 6: write him good stuff, but I'm like, damn it. That
- 38:16Speaker 6: was good. Like, and they're usually pretty quick with them.
- 38:19Speaker 6: So like, yeah, even, even at the horrible state that
- 38:24Speaker 6: they were in, in this movie, like most of the
- 38:26Speaker 6: way through, he's still kind of being his normal self. So,
- 38:29Speaker 6: but yeah, that whole set. And I think that was
- 38:31Speaker 6: kind of an interesting little dynamic because I remember watching
- 38:34Speaker 6: the Dr.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Strange movie and, And I'm like, man, we already have.
- 38:38Speaker 6: An arrogant prick.
- 38:40Speaker 7: Right.
- 38:41Speaker 6: Like, Doctor Strange in his real world life is already
- 38:45Speaker 6: kind of Tony Stark. Like, he's rich and he's powerful
- 38:49Speaker 6: and very full of himself. So I'm like, and again,
- 38:52Speaker 6: I kind of didn't care so much in that solo movie.
- 38:54Speaker 6: It's just one's introvert, one's extrovert. But watching those two together.
- 38:57Speaker 6: There's really only a difference between them.
- 38:58Speaker 7: Well, I was curious as to how they were going
- 39:00Speaker 7: to play off because it's too much of the same character.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:03Speaker 6: But it worked really well. Well, that's what I thought
- 39:05Speaker 6: was interesting.
- 39:05Speaker 1: I was like, that's why they are immediately just butting
- 39:08Speaker 1: heads on this.
- 39:09Speaker 6: It's like, because you two are the same. Well, they're dude.
- 39:11Speaker 7: Like, neither one's going to put up with the other
- 39:13Speaker 7: one's shit. And they're going to give it right back.
- 39:15Speaker 6: And neither's going to back down and let the other
- 39:17Speaker 6: be in charge.
- 39:18Speaker 8: The wink.
- 39:18Speaker 1: When Strange gives Stark the wink when he makes the
- 39:21Speaker 1: wind go away.
- 39:22Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Just those subtle things that were just so fantastic.
- 39:25Speaker 8: And when, I mean, when Stark kind of had to
- 39:28Speaker 8: manipulate Doctor Strange. by saying, do you concur? Putting his
- 39:35Speaker 8: ego on the line there.
- 39:37Speaker 6: Again, I like that whole little, and we do, this
- 39:42Speaker 6: is one of those things like the ongoing series here
- 39:44Speaker 6: of like complaining about the weird because there's never an
- 39:50Speaker 6: easy way. This is one of those I kept noticing
- 39:53Speaker 6: on the trailer going in. I'm like, we see all
- 39:56Speaker 6: of these people, most of them humans, a lot of
- 39:59Speaker 6: them the tribe, and then all of our heroes running
- 40:03Speaker 6: into battle. And I'm like, what the hell are they battling?
- 40:05Speaker 6: Because they never really did show you. So I'm like,
- 40:08Speaker 6: if it's Thanos, it's one dude. Who are we fighting
- 40:11Speaker 6: against here that all of these people are in this battlefield?
- 40:14Speaker 6: And so before we even get to that, we get
- 40:17Speaker 6: the the children of Thanos so we've got those like
- 40:21Speaker 6: three characters there that I'm like you know finally we've
- 40:25Speaker 6: kind of got formidable sub-villains like sub-bosses that I'm like
- 40:30Speaker 6: these are actually pretty good and like again the wizard
- 40:32Speaker 6: in general like he's actually pretty damn likable like for
- 40:35Speaker 6: a villain like you kind of go in and like
- 40:38Speaker 6: he is powerful he is kind of a badass he
- 40:41Speaker 6: Has his little snarky comments.
- 40:43Speaker 1: His body language was... I really liked his body language.
- 40:46Speaker 1: When he's fighting, he just was so... Could not give
- 40:51Speaker 1: a fuck until that one cut. When he finally got
- 40:54Speaker 1: him on the cheek. When Strange gets him. That's when
- 40:55Speaker 1: he gets lit. But just his casual movements and moving
- 40:58Speaker 1: his cars and things out from killing him. It's just nothing.
- 41:03Speaker 1: It was so great.
- 41:04Speaker 6: That's one of those that could be a make or
- 41:07Speaker 6: break thing. That's how so many of the... Even... even knocking.
- 41:12Speaker 6: That was my issue with the first Avengers movie is like,
- 41:15Speaker 6: who gives a shit about the, the aliens coming through
- 41:18Speaker 6: to fight.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:19Speaker 6: But this time it's like, they found a way to
- 41:22Speaker 6: work all that stuff in with Thanos actually there to
- 41:24Speaker 6: ground it. So like, there really is a real villain.
- 41:28Speaker 6: We do have all these, like, aside from the sub
- 41:31Speaker 6: bosses there, once we get to these new creatures that
- 41:33Speaker 6: come along, they're also pretty damn vicious. So like, it's
- 41:38Speaker 6: at least something to fight with. That's, that's worth our time. Like,
- 41:41Speaker 6: Because the guys in the first Avengers are just like
- 41:45Speaker 6: kind of a joke. Like they easily just constantly take
- 41:47Speaker 6: them out. They don't seem like a threat. They're kind
- 41:49Speaker 6: of like just nameless, faceless, bumbling idiots, you know? So
- 41:54Speaker 6: it's like there are a lot of them and that's
- 41:56Speaker 6: the only fight.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Well, and that's what their only purpose was. They have
- 42:00Speaker 1: the whole discussion on the edge of the barrier there
- 42:02Speaker 1: where Black Panther's like, all you're going to get is
- 42:04Speaker 1: blood and ashes. And she's like, we got plenty of blood.
- 42:07Speaker 1: And that's when it happens. The whole idea that like
- 42:08Speaker 1: we can win this through attrition. We have tons of bodies,
- 42:12Speaker 1: if that's what you're trying to say.
- 42:13Speaker 6: I thought that was, again, something I was kind of
- 42:18Speaker 6: concerned about going in, and I think they made good
- 42:20Speaker 6: on it. Mostly just, again, by the end, those creatures
- 42:23Speaker 6: are just kind of there to.
- 42:25Speaker 1: Fill the other battle.
- 42:26Speaker 6: We have to have multiple battles going on, and we
- 42:29Speaker 6: need something on Earth.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Until the timeline got to them, it was like, this
- 42:33Speaker 1: is what's going on.
- 42:34Speaker 6: We have to have something for them to be fighting
- 42:36Speaker 6: against while the other battles are going on. But again,
- 42:39Speaker 6: it's entertaining enough because we do see some great action
- 42:42Speaker 6: scenes in the middle of that.
- 42:44Speaker 8: No rhinos, though.
- 42:45Speaker 1: No rhinos. I was surprised about that, too.
- 42:47Speaker 7: I was hoping that they'd show up.
- 42:49Speaker 8: Because they gave the audience literally every other pop that
- 42:52Speaker 8: they were looking for.
- 42:53Speaker 1: They didn't give rhinos.
- 42:54Speaker 8: And I was like, that was the one!
- 42:57Speaker 6: But it is, again, I guess not by accident that
- 42:59Speaker 6: that's the movie we just left. So we spend a
- 43:01Speaker 6: good amount of time right back there in the middle
- 43:04Speaker 6: of Black Panther, essentially. Like, We know all those characters.
- 43:08Speaker 6: We know that location. We know everything else about it.
- 43:11Speaker 6: That last third of the movie just sort of settles
- 43:14Speaker 6: in in the one we just left. I don't know.
- 43:19Speaker 6: I was trying to decide how much of that was
- 43:21Speaker 6: planned going into this that we're coming off of Ragnarok
- 43:25Speaker 6: and Black Panther so how much builds off of those
- 43:28Speaker 6: last two movies. Again, the planning that goes into these
- 43:33Speaker 6: and the easing our way into these I think is
- 43:36Speaker 6: why we get to like, we've got 50 characters going
- 43:39Speaker 6: on now and it still isn't a shock to the system.
- 43:42Speaker 6: Like the fact that it still runs that smoothly in
- 43:45Speaker 6: our heads is just because we've been so eased into
- 43:49Speaker 6: it by pretty solid writing these last several years worth
- 43:53Speaker 6: of movies that like, and I think that's like a
- 43:57Speaker 6: big plus going into something that could be that overwhelming.
- 44:00Speaker 13: Right.
- 44:01Speaker 1: No, I agree. I, I had, a weird mixture of
- 44:04Speaker 1: flashbacks watching it of first time as a kid seeing
- 44:08Speaker 1: Empire and Jedi. Because I remember as a kid watching Jedi,
- 44:11Speaker 1: just being like, oh my God, there's so much going on.
- 44:13Speaker 1: They're in three different places and it all matters. And
- 44:16Speaker 1: then obviously with Empire, just the end as a kid,
- 44:19Speaker 1: the weight of it, of them being beat. And I
- 44:21Speaker 1: walked out the theater thinking to myself that this is
- 44:24Speaker 1: the millennials Empire Strikes Back. Millennials will revere this movie
- 44:29Speaker 1: the way we revere Empires. That first emotional moment not
- 44:34Speaker 1: first emotional movie but first pop culture like just it's
- 44:38Speaker 1: eric dying in final fantasy 7 it's just the first
- 44:40Speaker 1: time a character you love or characters you love like
- 44:44Speaker 1: it's not gonna be a bad ending but you think
- 44:46Speaker 1: it might be a bad ending like they actually deliver
- 44:49Speaker 1: on that like maybe it's not gonna be that pure
- 44:52Speaker 1: happy ending and everyone's gonna get out as squeaky clean well.
- 44:55Speaker 6: What's funny is i remember i i I think us
- 44:58Speaker 6: talking about Guardians when we went and saw it years
- 45:00Speaker 6: ago now, I think we were talking about people calling
- 45:03Speaker 6: Guardians of the Galaxy this generation Star Wars. So this
- 45:07Speaker 6: is like, okay, give it a few years. Here's your empire.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Have fun with this ending. So maybe it has all
- 45:13Speaker 6: come around.
- 45:13Speaker 1: There was so much crying in the theater when I
- 45:15Speaker 1: saw it. I don't know about you guys. I felt
- 45:17Speaker 1: a little bad because it was kids too. And I'm like,
- 45:19Speaker 1: I don't want the kids to cry, but I want
- 45:21Speaker 1: you to feel the weight of it.
- 45:23Speaker 6: It needs to be harsh.
- 45:23Speaker 1: There was full on crying in the theater. And I
- 45:26Speaker 1: was like, I don't want kids to be this hurt,
- 45:29Speaker 1: but man, you know, they had the balls to do this.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Thanos is, I.
- 45:33Speaker 6: Don't want kiddified bullshit.
- 45:34Speaker 1: This happened. I hate to be the dude that says
- 45:36Speaker 1: this happened in the comic, but I love that they
- 45:38Speaker 1: kept that. There is a point in the comic where
- 45:41Speaker 1: he whoops everyone's ass and they do some shit to
- 45:44Speaker 1: bring everyone back. But I was blown away that the
- 45:46Speaker 1: movie took that fucking chance to go. He wins.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I mean, if a dude has a gauntlet that makes
- 45:52Speaker 1: him God, of course he's going to fucking win. So he,
- 45:56Speaker 1: could not believe the movie committed to that though like
- 45:58Speaker 1: i never expected the movie industry to go a whole
- 46:01Speaker 1: year with letting you think these things are dead well i.
- 46:04Speaker 7: Know i keep going on about oh they'll be back
- 46:06Speaker 7: they'll be back they'll be back and i even thought
- 46:08Speaker 7: that during the movie but i still felt that weight
- 46:11Speaker 7: of oh no that guy's gone now he she's gone
- 46:13Speaker 7: and they're.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Gone spider-man died when when vision and scarlet witch are
- 46:17Speaker 1: having their last.
- 46:18Speaker 7: Thing vision just gets blown apart.
- 46:22Speaker 1: The fact that she killed him and that he undid it.
- 46:27Speaker 1: Thanos' things is like, as calm as he is, he's
- 46:29Speaker 1: fucking brutal. You look back at his actions, like, these
- 46:32Speaker 1: are brutal fucking actions that you do with this... Weird,
- 46:36Speaker 1: it reminds me of Trevor Goodchild from Aeon Flux. Just
- 46:38Speaker 1: this kind of arrogant pomp that everything I do is
- 46:40Speaker 1: going to work out in the end. It's like, but you...
- 46:43Speaker 1: That was so fucking shitty on Scarlet Witch who killed
- 46:46Speaker 1: this dude she loved. And it was for nothing. You
- 46:49Speaker 1: undo and bring him back and... Imagine killing someone you
- 46:53Speaker 1: love and then going through all that and then it's
- 46:55Speaker 1: for nothing.
- 46:56Speaker 6: Watching someone rip their brain out essentially a few minutes later.
- 47:00Speaker 6: When he pulls that out, it takes a huge portion
- 47:03Speaker 6: of his head that I'm just like, oh my god.
- 47:05Speaker 7: I was kind of surprised to see that it was
- 47:08Speaker 7: that graphic.
- 47:09Speaker 6: It was pretty hardcore. That's one of those I was
- 47:12Speaker 6: thinking that.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Someone else dying? Thanos and fucking Gamora. On the cliff.
- 47:21Speaker 6: That's, I mean, that's what I was thinking, that this,
- 47:24Speaker 6: one of the things that I'm the most impressed with
- 47:26Speaker 6: was this, is because, once again, back to the villain thing, like,
- 47:31Speaker 6: he is so far been built up to not only
- 47:35Speaker 6: be a big bad, but to be very comic book-y. Like,
- 47:39Speaker 6: even the look, he looks like something, had they not
- 47:42Speaker 6: drawn this in a comic book, nobody would design him
- 47:45Speaker 6: like that. Like, it looks very comic book. He is
- 47:48Speaker 6: meant to be a very Again, not to mean that
- 47:52Speaker 6: in a bad way, but it is almost like a
- 47:54Speaker 6: backhanded compliment of like, he's a very comic book villain.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Real Jack Kirby looking stuff.
- 47:58Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:59Speaker 6: So the fact that I'm like, so this could be
- 48:01Speaker 6: played off really light and kind of silly or just
- 48:04Speaker 6: like a very like old school serial kind of a
- 48:08Speaker 6: villain that like he's just bad for the sake of
- 48:10Speaker 6: being bad and there's nothing else to him. And I
- 48:13Speaker 6: don't want to go down the road of let's humanize
- 48:15Speaker 6: him so much. They found this weird balance where I'm like, no,
- 48:19Speaker 6: he is. cold and hardcore and fucking ruthless. But the
- 48:25Speaker 6: thing that was most impressive to me was they brought.
- 48:28Speaker 1: That logic into it.
- 48:30Speaker 6: That I'm like, you know, if you listen to him,
- 48:33Speaker 6: he makes a lot of sense. Yeah, it is. And
- 48:36Speaker 6: that's the thing. I was thinking just.
- 48:38Speaker 1: In like a world leader. It's a difference of opinion,
- 48:43Speaker 1: not necessarily right or wrong because you could argue that
- 48:47Speaker 1: Avengers struggling hasn't brought It's done nothing but hurt a
- 48:50Speaker 1: lot of people. But his version would kind of bring
- 48:52Speaker 1: an Eden.
- 48:52Speaker 7: Well, they fleshed that character out so much.
- 48:56Speaker 1: In this one movie.
- 48:57Speaker 6: We really haven't had anything.
- 48:59Speaker 1: It should have been Thanos Infinity War.
- 49:01Speaker 7: About halfway through the third act, I was like, I
- 49:04Speaker 7: kind of get why he's doing this now.
- 49:06Speaker 6: I don't necessarily agree with it.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Especially when they show his home planet. When he makes
- 49:10Speaker 1: the home planet for Stark and Strange, and he does
- 49:13Speaker 1: his pitch there, I'm like, you can't. He's been through it.
- 49:16Speaker 1: well that line I mean imagine if Stark was the
- 49:19Speaker 1: last Stark after Earth died Stark would be dead fucking
- 49:22Speaker 1: set on not letting that happen again I mean.
- 49:24Speaker 6: We saw that in Ultron like he was willing to
- 49:26Speaker 6: do that kind of shit to not go down that
- 49:28Speaker 6: road even sacrificing.
- 49:30Speaker 7: That line that he has about how you know everybody
- 49:33Speaker 7: thought I was mad but turns out I was right
- 49:37Speaker 7: it was just like he is right yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 1: And when he's telling Gamora later, I think it's just
- 49:42Speaker 1: before he kills her, when he's just like, your home
- 49:45Speaker 1: planet is great now.
- 49:46Speaker 6: It's awesome.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Everyone there is happy. And the scene that really got.
- 49:49Speaker 7: Me with him, he's with the little Gamora, the young Gamora.
- 49:54Speaker 6: Yeah, the flashback.
- 49:55Speaker 7: And they go to shoot all of her people, and
- 49:58Speaker 7: she turns to look. There was something about the way
- 50:01Speaker 7: he grabs her and.
- 50:02Speaker 6: Is like, no, no, don't look.
- 50:04Speaker 7: It just really kind of got me.
- 50:07Speaker 6: Yeah. Again, he's not just on the page. He's not
- 50:12Speaker 6: just a comic. There is a weird depth to him. Again,
- 50:15Speaker 6: I won't say they're bringing some sort of humanity to
- 50:17Speaker 6: him because he never crosses that line into... into being
- 50:21Speaker 6: that kind of a.
- 50:22Speaker 1: He just feels more macro to me. It's hard to
- 50:25Speaker 1: compare him to a human because he's thinking so much
- 50:28Speaker 1: bigger and broader that you can't accurately perceive him in
- 50:32Speaker 1: that scope. You have to go God tier and be like,
- 50:35Speaker 1: he's looking at a much bigger picture. And he's right.
- 50:38Speaker 6: That's the frustrating part. As much as I hate what
- 50:42Speaker 6: he's doing, as much as I hate the ruthless tyrant
- 50:45Speaker 6: approach that he's taking to it, I'm like, if you
- 50:48Speaker 6: listen to his argument, it's a solid argument. Right. Like,
- 50:52Speaker 6: especially when we get the alternate version of like, no,
- 50:55Speaker 6: it worked here. Here's my planet. It didn't work. Here's
- 50:58Speaker 6: after I went and did this and it's an Eden now.
- 51:01Speaker 6: So my plan works. Like it's almost more frustrating because
- 51:07Speaker 6: it shows that there is a reason behind it all.
- 51:09Speaker 6: And like, even the horrible things that we think by
- 51:12Speaker 6: the end are going on.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I'm like, I just don't, I don't know.
- 51:15Speaker 8: I just don't get how his planet would, or that planet,
- 51:18Speaker 8: Gamora's planet, would be in Eden because of the incredible
- 51:22Speaker 8: trauma from losing half the population, I feel like would
- 51:26Speaker 8: make the rest of the residents of the planet go, like,
- 51:30Speaker 8: insane and make them, I don't know, become, like, weirdly
- 51:34Speaker 8: tribal and more warlike and just kind of like, it's like,
- 51:38Speaker 8: I get how it worked there.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I don't see it working. Can't you see where it
- 51:42Speaker 1: could also unify them, though? Like, if some outer power
- 51:45Speaker 1: showed up, And wiped out half of you, you'd be like,
- 51:48Speaker 1: we're all together now, right? Because this shit might come back.
- 51:51Speaker 6: Even more so if they were a more simple people
- 51:54Speaker 6: and you used a weird god tier of... I am
- 51:57Speaker 6: your God and I have chosen you to be the
- 52:00Speaker 6: survivors and you should care. Like if you dupe them
- 52:03Speaker 6: into this sort of like, if you band together, you know,
- 52:05Speaker 6: this is, this was not for nothing.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I got a bit of a Watchmen vibe from it.
- 52:10Speaker 1: It was more of like, I'm creating universal evils for
- 52:13Speaker 1: you to like band against too. Like it was almost
- 52:15Speaker 1: like not a twofer, but like that his logic is
- 52:17Speaker 1: like deep, you know, it's not just, you know, Oh,
- 52:21Speaker 1: killing half does it. It's like, no, he kind of
- 52:23Speaker 1: understands what's going to happen there because of that traumatic event.
- 52:26Speaker 6: But I also think to yours, I think it's within distance.
- 52:29Speaker 6: Within the same generation of Gamora being a little kid,
- 52:32Speaker 6: they probably, if not told that lie, they probably would
- 52:35Speaker 6: be pretty messed up. But if you go ahead a
- 52:37Speaker 6: couple of generations and all that's gone, again, there's going to.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Be a little residual... I mean, I don't know.
- 52:46Speaker 8: Also, why not, like, if you can snap your fingers
- 52:48Speaker 8: and kill everybody, you can also snap your fingers and
- 52:50Speaker 8: make half of people infertile.
- 52:52Speaker 1: More food?
- 52:52Speaker 6: Yeah, more food or like.
- 52:56Speaker 8: I don't know, like on a planet with somebody like Stark,
- 52:58Speaker 8: do you really need to do that? Because he's going
- 52:59Speaker 8: to be able to come up with the technology to support,
- 53:02Speaker 8: you know? It's just like, all right, I don't know.
- 53:05Speaker 6: I mean, again, it's not... It's not a perfect plan.
- 53:10Speaker 6: That's kind of why we want him to be the villain.
- 53:12Speaker 6: But there's at least.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Logic to it.
- 53:14Speaker 6: Yeah, there is logic. It does make sense from a perspective.
- 53:17Speaker 1: And that's one of those, like.
- 53:17Speaker 6: I'm just not going to.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he is right. I'm like, nope, I'm not going there.
- 53:21Speaker 1: I don't want to go on board with him. But
- 53:22Speaker 1: it is one of those, like, I would expect.
- 53:24Speaker 6: Again, if we're going with a cheap comic book approach,
- 53:28Speaker 6: that it would just be black and white and there's
- 53:30Speaker 6: just this, oh, he's a bad guy because he's a
- 53:31Speaker 6: bad guy. But, like... the fact that they bothered to
- 53:34Speaker 6: write a point of view that you can see, you
- 53:37Speaker 6: don't have to get on board with it, but you
- 53:38Speaker 6: can go, damn, from that perspective, he's right. And he
- 53:42Speaker 6: has reason for his actions. It's like, cause there are
- 53:45Speaker 6: so many of those villains and I'm like, why.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Is he just a dick?
- 53:48Speaker 6: Like, why is this person doing this other than he's
- 53:51Speaker 6: just kind of, you know, full of himself and wants
- 53:53Speaker 6: to be evil and wants to cause pain for other people.
- 53:55Speaker 6: But like when this one, it's like, that's.
- 53:57Speaker 1: Never the reason.
- 53:58Speaker 6: Like, He's cold, but it's not for nothing.
- 54:03Speaker 1: I like that he loved Gamora. Yeah. That scene, I
- 54:06Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, I had opinions on him going
- 54:09Speaker 1: into any, but that scene changed my movie opinion of
- 54:11Speaker 1: him because I was like, for me, it's always perplexing
- 54:15Speaker 1: when there's villains that are capable of love. I always
- 54:18Speaker 1: find that really weird when you have super duper big
- 54:20Speaker 1: bad guys that have a wife or a kid. It's like,
- 54:23Speaker 1: how are you capable of love and this much hate?
- 54:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 1: So when they did that to him there, I was like,
- 54:28Speaker 1: god damn it this dude like you legit because i
- 54:31Speaker 1: was with her i was laughing at first and inside
- 54:33Speaker 1: like you're fucked you don't love shit and then when
- 54:36Speaker 1: red skull's like he's not crying and i was like
- 54:41Speaker 1: oh fuck he loves her he legit fucking loves this
- 54:44Speaker 1: little girl well and how and she's the first one
- 54:47Speaker 1: he apologized not apologize but when he snaps his fingers
- 54:50Speaker 1: that's the first spirit yeah he communicates with that's i'm
- 54:53Speaker 1: pretty sure that was lifestone shit because he like he
- 54:55Speaker 1: snaps and it's like immediately it's just him there almost
- 54:59Speaker 1: like going to her like that's the first person he
- 55:01Speaker 1: wanted to apologize to and be like it's done and
- 55:04Speaker 1: then she's like what did it cost and he said
- 55:06Speaker 1: everything and i was just like he lost all of
- 55:10Speaker 1: his people his daughter everything his home planet is still
- 55:13Speaker 1: gone like he legit again for the one but lost
- 55:17Speaker 1: everything like for an ideal.
- 55:18Speaker 6: For this ideal yeah it's it's not even like.
- 55:21Speaker 1: And when it cut the credits i was just like
- 55:24Speaker 1: fucking nailed it. Like that is the best bad guy.
- 55:26Speaker 6: It is.
- 55:27Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 55:27Speaker 6: It's like, it's not just for like, I want to win.
- 55:29Speaker 6: Like there is no winning. Like it's just following through
- 55:32Speaker 6: with your concept.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Your ideal. And yes, it worked, but now.
- 55:38Speaker 6: I have nothing. And there's almost no reason for me
- 55:41Speaker 6: to even exist at this point. All I've been doing
- 55:44Speaker 6: my entire existence essentially is working on this plan. Like
- 55:47Speaker 6: I saw everything go wrong. This is my concept to
- 55:51Speaker 6: fix it. And everything he's done since then has been
- 55:54Speaker 6: nothing but in that vein.
- 55:56Speaker 1: And, like, what the fuck do you do?
- 55:57Speaker 6: When all of your existence is built around one action
- 56:01Speaker 6: and you do it, like, what is there for him? Yeah,
- 56:04Speaker 6: when the only person he ever loved is gone and
- 56:07Speaker 6: the only thing he ever lived for is over with.
- 56:10Speaker 6: You know, he's got a legacy in Gamora.
- 56:11Speaker 1: Nothing was there. He has no legacy, no.
- 56:13Speaker 8: He's just going to wait around until the population's too
- 56:15Speaker 8: high again.
- 56:16Speaker 6: Start off in people. Yeah. It's good to have goals.
- 56:20Speaker 1: It's neat because he does do that at one point
- 56:22Speaker 1: in the comic. There's some point where, because in the
- 56:25Speaker 1: comic he tries to dominate everything like five or six times.
- 56:27Speaker 1: But after or before one of them, he is just
- 56:30Speaker 1: like a farmer somewhere. Like, I'm done. I could have
- 56:32Speaker 1: did it a couple times. I'm tired of trying. I'm
- 56:34Speaker 1: just here farming. And I think like Doom or someone
- 56:36Speaker 1: shows up like, we should do it again. But he
- 56:39Speaker 1: does legit just kind of farm for a while. Like,
- 56:40Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 56:42Speaker 6: That's, again, on the Gamora thing, that's something that This movie,
- 56:48Speaker 6: but even the, I just recently went back and rewatched
- 56:51Speaker 6: Guardians 2. And I'm like, those two movies together, I'm like.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Can I say something since you just rewatched it?
- 56:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:58Speaker 1: The flashback from Nebula's thing where Gamora is telling her
- 57:01Speaker 1: that she knows about the stone. Was that in Guardians
- 57:03Speaker 1: 2 or was that completely just put in there as
- 57:06Speaker 1: an as if? Because I wanted to rewatch to see
- 57:09Speaker 1: if that conversation happened. There was a point where they
- 57:11Speaker 1: were both together. yeah see i don't remember underground or
- 57:14Speaker 1: something it's like i forget if she said.
- 57:16Speaker 6: That yeah they have a big heavy discussion.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Because i assume that's where it was from but i
- 57:20Speaker 1: didn't know if they literally cut that scene yeah i.
- 57:22Speaker 17: Don't think that actual dialogue that's what i now it's
- 57:25Speaker 17: i never did just because after a civil war remember
- 57:28Speaker 17: you know where you found out bucky killed the parents
- 57:30Speaker 17: if you went back to winter soldier it is in
- 57:32Speaker 17: there the newspaper articles.
- 57:34Speaker 1: And i was like was that another one that got
- 57:36Speaker 1: by everyone so i couldn't.
- 57:37Speaker 8: I remember the scene being like she was chasing Gamora
- 57:40Speaker 8: because she hated her and then Gamora had a conversation
- 57:43Speaker 8: with her where she was basically like I'm on your
- 57:45Speaker 8: side and not on Thanos' let's band together and.
- 57:49Speaker 6: That's it starting with that scene like that's the point
- 57:52Speaker 6: because before like going into like Guardians 2 and all
- 57:56Speaker 6: through the entire Guardians first movie she's just insane like
- 58:00Speaker 6: she just hates her she wants to kill her this
- 58:02Speaker 6: one she's just flying a ship at her like all
- 58:05Speaker 6: she wants to do is kill her And from that
- 58:06Speaker 6: scene on, you start going, oh, wow, her entire existence
- 58:12Speaker 6: has just been hell. Like it's been, and that's the
- 58:16Speaker 6: takeaway is this like, Thanos truly loves Gamora.
- 58:20Speaker 1: He did not give a shit about Nebula. That scene
- 58:23Speaker 1: where she says something about destroying her and he says
- 58:26Speaker 1: it'd be a waste of parts. He doesn't even consider
- 58:28Speaker 1: destroying her worth his time.
- 58:30Speaker 6: She spent equally as much time with him as Gamora,
- 58:33Speaker 6: but he legitimately loves.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Gamora and could not care less.
- 58:38Speaker 6: And how... like, now you're like, well, I understand why
- 58:42Speaker 6: she's so damn bitter and angry now, I'm like, this
- 58:45Speaker 6: has been her whole life, and why she would hate
- 58:48Speaker 6: Gamora so much, it's like, if that was, your entire
- 58:51Speaker 6: life was, like, you were there to just be, like,
- 58:53Speaker 6: a practice dummy for this other person to learn what
- 58:56Speaker 6: they needed to learn, because dad loved her, and you're
- 58:59Speaker 6: just there for him to just rip apart, and keep, just, like,
- 59:03Speaker 6: keep abusing for decades, like, The more like went through
- 59:08Speaker 6: these last two movies i'm just like oh i feel
- 59:11Speaker 6: so bad for her right just as a character now
- 59:14Speaker 6: just like good god like.
- 59:16Speaker 1: In the comic he keeps her around in a half-dead
- 59:19Speaker 1: state well even the comic she's like ripping her as
- 59:22Speaker 1: she's about to die it's as if he froze it
- 59:24Speaker 1: to where she's in a state of constant dying as
- 59:28Speaker 1: like punishment he's just keeping her over here standing there
- 59:31Speaker 1: and just like stripping her apart yeah so that scene
- 59:34Speaker 1: again it was like even as reading the comic like
- 59:37Speaker 1: seeing their transition to these things it was so cool
- 59:39Speaker 1: because it's like that's still kind of the same thing
- 59:41Speaker 1: but in movie form when he had her all like
- 59:43Speaker 1: straight yeah the artistic way they did it too when
- 59:45Speaker 1: you first go in and it looked like she was
- 59:47Speaker 1: there and it panned to the side and they were
- 59:48Speaker 1: all stretched.
- 59:49Speaker 6: Out ripping her apart yeah but yet still keeping her
- 59:52Speaker 6: alive and conscious and enjoying the pain. You know, I'm
- 59:56Speaker 6: just like, good God. Like again, that's why it's like,
- 59:59Speaker 6: he's never humanized. Like he is always cold and heartless
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: except in this one incident.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: And like, it's not you. Like Nebula, it's not you.
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: Like that just sticks it in and breaks it off.
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: Like not only does he do this to you, but.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: He does care about somebody. It's just not you.
- 1:00:17Speaker 6: And you've been there just as long as her.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Like, it's just not you. Like, fuck.
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: Like that is mean. It's just harsh.
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: I saw some comic panels with Thanos recently where he
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: just shows up at this kid's birthday every year and
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: fucks with his life every year. Just a random harassment
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: of this. It's like, by the way, your cat's dead.
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: Just every year, just like, oh, he made him lose
- 1:00:43Speaker 8: his job or he texted his girlfriend something terrible. It's like,
- 1:00:48Speaker 8: good luck getting back from that one, buddy. Just a
- 1:00:52Speaker 8: random chaotic Yeah, he's a bastard. Reasonless. So no logic there.
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: Only logic with his grand plan.
- 1:01:00Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: But again, that's why the more I thought about it,
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: I was like, everything with him is so well put
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: together and not a light.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Version of it.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: It is just mean and cold and calculated and just
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: harsh all the way to the end, to the credits.
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: Just like, wow, that was.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Like we're all.
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: Suffering that same like it's just it's so mean.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: His face looks so good yeah.
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: Again that's something that could.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Have gone horribly wrong there was so so much expression
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: in his face at times that just would have ruin
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: scenes if it would have been anything less than that first.
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: Guardians movie he's so flat looking yeah and it wasn't
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: a little it wasn't rolling right no.
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: It was it was a generic cg and he was.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Much more purple yeah it's much bumpier and different looking
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: yeah they just a scale of his head they seem
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: like everyone had to hold his head there was like
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: so many scenes where someone had their hand on him
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: was like you know when mantis was like doing a
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: thing and thor and like, kind of cupped him when
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: he was getting cocky at the end, and I was
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: just like, that head looks so fucking real, it does
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: not look flat, there was just so much emoting, and again,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: you know, when he was gonna kill Gamora, like, when,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: just in his eyes, you can fucking see, it's like,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: this dude's legit fucking sad, like, this CGI right now
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: is fucking amazing, it's letting, I don't know if that
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: was Brolin or CGI, but It came through. His face
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: looked great so many times when it could have looked
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: really awful.
- 1:02:32Speaker 6: Probably a combination. Because Roland is pretty damn good in
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: the real world. So even filtered through green screen and CGI.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: And it wasn't infallible. The female child of Thanos, I thought, looked...
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: The stripe on her lips. She looked a little... She
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: didn't seem as good as some of the others. Yeah,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: the wizard dude was pretty good. He looked pretty fucking great.
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: The big brute of the bunch. He was just.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: He kind of looked like a gray Hulk. Yeah.
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: Or he was just like Thor.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: He was just a little bit bigger version of Thor.
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: But yeah, just a big brute. But they were all pretty... Again,
- 1:03:10Speaker 6: just like watching... That was kind of my... Once we
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: get into that battle at the end is like, what's the...
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: What's the warrior chick's name in Black Panther?
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Oh, the Dora Light chick. I forget her name. I know.
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: I can never remember.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I forgot his sister's name, too. I felt bad because.
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: I was like. Because, like, watching her, like.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Side by side with Black Widow and Scarlet Witch.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: And I'm just like, well, before Scarlet Witch even gets there,
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: just watching, I'm like, okay, you're battling these otherworldly creatures,
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: but I'm like, if you're going to fight two humans,
- 1:03:43Speaker 6: these are the most well-trained humans that are going to
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: kick your ass. These two women will level anyone else
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: on the planet. So, well, if you're going to get humans,
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: these are the ones that might hold their own. They
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: were both so badass that that was one of my
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: favorite fight scenes. And then having Scarlet Witch come in
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: and just sort of like the whole little trio.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Just grind her up.
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: That whole scene where the Wakandans are all lining up
- 1:04:07Speaker 7: and they're doing their chants and whatever was just so exciting.
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: I mean, all the fight scenes were really well choreographed
- 1:04:14Speaker 7: and really well shot. But just that buildup was like, oh,
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: here we go. Something good's going to happen.
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: I guess because they kept it at bay. Like literally
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: with the force field. It's like it's sitting right there.
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: It's waiting and you see them making the plan like,
- 1:04:28Speaker 6: gonna have to open this like here it comes like
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: i had a weird.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: Like you ever like watch a movie and something happens
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: you're like oh they just read my mind like you
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: think something for it happens when like and this is
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: a weird gamer perspective thing like captain america and like
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: black panther like shoot ahead of everybody else in that
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: charge and party was like what are you doing like
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you're gonna get fucked up out there by yourselves and
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: like as it was panning away i was like well
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: black panther be okay when he gets hit enough we'll
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: just burst him off of him with his thing and
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: then go back to solo And as it was panning away,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: you see him pop it once. And I was like,
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: he did it. He fucking did it. He's going to
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: be okay. Because whenever he gets overwhelmed, he'll pop them
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: off and go back to one-on-one.
- 1:05:05Speaker 8: The thing I liked about them opening the force field,
- 1:05:07Speaker 8: like in the battlefield with the, you know, cyber riot shields,
- 1:05:13Speaker 8: is that they're giving you the amazing, like, old school
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: battlefield scene from like, you never see them unless you're
- 1:05:20Speaker 8: like watching like Braveheart.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Yeah, like old school battle.
- 1:05:25Speaker 8: But they're giving you all the technology and like modernity.
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: at the same time so you're like yes like i
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: get to see like the old battlefield before guns yeah
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: were really a thing.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: And yet space age technology kind of thrown in there
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: at the same time but.
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: Wakanda has like flying there they have their own jets
- 1:05:43Speaker 8: i was surprised not to see it yeah they didn't
- 1:05:46Speaker 8: come in with the i didn't really see any technology
- 1:05:48Speaker 8: yeah in the in the fight.
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: Not much she had her gloves she bust out at
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: the end this is.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: She got one shot yeah.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: And take your time to trust in me And you
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: will find infinity.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Yes, folks, it's intermission time.
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: So how about taking a break?
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: Get out and stretch a little and relax before the
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: show begins again.
- 1:06:33Speaker 18: Don't just shake your head. Explain why the coffee's so good.
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: Good taste.
- 1:06:38Speaker 8: That makes me think of a particular coffee shop in
- 1:06:41Speaker 8: town because we're not.
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: Advertising, right? Oh, it depends. Is it Heine Brothers?
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: It's Heine Brothers. Because....

- 1:11:34Speaker 18: Hey, this is Doug Jones from the Hellboy movies and

- 1:12:02Speaker 14: And now, on with the show.
- 1:12:05Speaker 10: Here's my key.
- 1:12:10Speaker 6: Philosophy. A freak like me just needs infinity. Relax.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Take your time.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Take your time to trust in me and you will
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: find infinity.
- 1:12:46Speaker 10: Infinity.
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: Infinity.
- 1:12:51Speaker 10: Infinity.
- 1:12:52Speaker 6: Infinity.
- 1:12:53Speaker 8: Infinity.
- 1:12:54Speaker 16: Infinity.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: I think the only.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: The only thing that really, after two viewings, it's not bad.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: By no means would I say it's bad, but it
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: just pulls me out of it. It was Peter Dinklage.
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: If you would have put something on his face or
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: changed his voice, but having it look like him and
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: sound like him, I'm just like, It's Peter Dinklage. It's
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: a 20-foot Peter Dinklage. I don't feel like it's a
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: character in this movie. I feel like it's Peter Dinklage
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: in the movie for a moment. Hey, guys, it's me,
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: Peter Dinklage.
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: Just waving at the camera.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: It was a weird.
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: Joke for them to make because it's like, oh, we're
- 1:13:38Speaker 7: going to this space station ran by dwarfs. And we
- 1:13:41Speaker 7: get there and we see a close-up and it's like, oh,
- 1:13:44Speaker 7: Peter Dinklage. He's playing a dwarf again. And then he's
- 1:13:47Speaker 7: like a 30 foot tall dwarf. That's like what?
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: I mean, I almost get it just because it is
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: an odd look because it were because, you know, dwarf
- 1:13:57Speaker 6: people in general are shaped a little different than, you know,
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: normal humans. So like to then blow them up to
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: that size, like he still has the proportions of someone
- 1:14:06Speaker 6: other than, you know, boring, normal humans. So like it
- 1:14:10Speaker 6: is different if we're going to have like a even
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: if it was in like a weird Medieval movie, you know,
- 1:14:15Speaker 6: it would be kind of an interesting way to do, like,
- 1:14:18Speaker 6: a giant. But because it's already out in outer space,
- 1:14:21Speaker 6: and I get it, but I do at the same
- 1:14:24Speaker 6: time go, hey, look, it's Peter Dinklage.
- 1:14:26Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: And it's not that he did a bad job.
- 1:14:28Speaker 7: No.
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: I mean, he's always good.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just his celebrity was overwhelming.
- 1:14:35Speaker 6: Which is weird in this movie, that, like, everybody is huge,
- 1:14:38Speaker 6: you know, as a star. Yeah. Just the hugeness of
- 1:14:44Speaker 6: him somehow threw off. I don't know. It was weird
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: because it is something that kind of.
- 1:14:48Speaker 8: I think it's because he had the long hair like
- 1:14:49Speaker 8: he does in Game of Thrones.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:51Speaker 8: He's like too much of.
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: You're just like, guest star from Game of Thrones, Peter Dinklage.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: If it would have been him voice acting a different look,
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: I think it would have been fun. But just all
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: of it together, it was so. It just pulls me
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: out of it. It's like I'm watching a movie with
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Peter Dinklage in it.
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: With Peter Dinklage. That'd be pretty cool. I'm up for that.
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: the other one that I thought was one, because I
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: guess cutting away from the battlefield, the, like, plan that
- 1:15:17Speaker 6: they come up with that almost works. Like, that's almost
- 1:15:20Speaker 6: the most frustrating thing, that they're right there, and I'm like,
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: once again, are we supposed to, like, just not want
- 1:15:27Speaker 6: to punch Star-Lord in the face?
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Like, dude, you were so close.
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: Like, keep your shit together.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I know what he just did, but you're
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: almost there.
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: Like, Well, I was waiting for Tony Stark to really
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: lay into him like he would have Peter Parker, you know.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: Well, I mean, it was just like it's such, like
- 1:15:49Speaker 6: going into that, all of a sudden you see what
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: a good, maybe not overall plan, but like dealing with
- 1:15:56Speaker 6: what they are, like the way that they use the
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: teamwork aspect of like everybody's kind of using their strength
- 1:16:02Speaker 6: to be able to figure out how to defeat this person.
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: So it really is a great scene of like, These people,
- 1:16:08Speaker 6: and specifically a lot of them who don't really even
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: know each other that well, like being like, okay, what.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Can we, this group of people. Oh man, when Stark
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: was trying to call him in to talk, and they
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: just let it hang there with that disapproving look on
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: his face. I swear it felt like 20 seconds of
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: him just staring before he's like, can you just bring
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: him in?
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: And I was like, oh. Again, I really like that
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: as just like, again, just the teamwork aspect of like
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: all of them And, I mean, we just kind of
- 1:16:37Speaker 6: saw that maneuver with Star-Lord of, like, you killed my
- 1:16:41Speaker 6: mother moment. Of, like, him just snapping and being like,
- 1:16:45Speaker 6: these are the only two people I really love. Either way,
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: I'm going to go off the handle.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: So it's like, we, I'm like, we just saw that.
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: Did you learn, you know, it kind of worked last time,
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: but only luck that, like, anybody made it out of
- 1:16:57Speaker 6: that planet alive. So, like, you'd hope he'd, like, kind
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: of learn something and be able to, like, back off
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: a little bit for the sake of everyone instead of
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: just kind of being selfish but again it is sort
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: of his personality.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: I think they could have played him and kimura closer
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: in a second movie in retrospect i think for me
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: that's what i inserted the feelings i was supposed to
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: have there because i was like you guys didn't really
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: solidify that love to me on screen but i get
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: it like you love her and you're freaking out about it.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: But I was like, on screen, I don't think you
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: guys seem, it seemed like you loved her and she
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: was kind of, eh, on you. Especially re-watching the second one.
- 1:17:36Speaker 6: I never felt like she loved, loved, loved you. Because
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: they really don't know each other that well in the
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: first one. By the second one, you can definitely tell
- 1:17:44Speaker 6: he's totally into her. And she's still kind of like
- 1:17:47Speaker 6: arm's length of like, yeah, kind of, but.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: You're a little creepy.
- 1:17:52Speaker 8: That's the thing though, because you see her kind of like,
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: slightly flirting with Thor and stuff and it's like maybe
- 1:17:58Speaker 8: she's supposed to be this like at any moment he
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: could just like lose her like he's he's definitely the
- 1:18:04Speaker 8: more invested one of the two of them oh yeah.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: 100% and always was but here's.
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: The thing and I don't know I think this was
- 1:18:11Speaker 6: IMDB trivia so whether or not this is 100% true
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: because they let all kinds of weird people write stuff
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: on there but Is this something that you'd heard? Supposedly
- 1:18:21Speaker 6: the timeline of Guardians, this is like four years after
- 1:18:25Speaker 6: those movies. I had no idea we jumped ahead in
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: time that far with anybody. But supposedly Guardians 1 and
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: 2 happen almost one after the other. No, that would
- 1:18:36Speaker 6: make sense.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Look at Groot. Yeah. Groot was like this big in
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: the second movie. I can never tell.
- 1:18:41Speaker 6: He seems like he grows so fast. Again, we don't
- 1:18:46Speaker 6: know how old he really was in the first one.
- 1:18:48Speaker 6: We kind of do, but only after. the fact they
- 1:18:50Speaker 6: sort of come out with it so I mean it
- 1:18:52Speaker 6: really doesn't I just was like is his timeline just
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: like shooting up really quick or does he just.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Go through life cycles really fast cause I remember in
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Spider-Man they make that 8 year reference and they came
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: out as producers and were like we fucked up that
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: was supposed to be 6 like they literally like That
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: was our bad. It was, he was supposed to say six.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: So they do know what they're doing with the timeline,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: but yeah, I hadn't.
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: Heard that, but I just saw it today before we
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: started and went, wow, that's, but to me, that should
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: be a much deeper relationship between the two of them.
- 1:19:25Speaker 6: If this is four years later and she's finally come
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: around to me like, all right, you know what? Yes,
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: you're a handsome dude, even though you're kind of getting heavy.
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: And that joke went on for a long time. It
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: was pretty funny.
- 1:19:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: But, and especially in the real world, because he wasn't,
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: Became famous as a pretty big dude.
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Did you know Peter Gunn wrote all that? Peter Gunn
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: wrote all of the Guardians parts.
- 1:19:49Speaker 6: Wait, James Gunn?
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: James Gunn, sorry.
- 1:19:51Speaker 6: I'm just playing the song.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Whoever the director of the Guardians movies, he was there
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: for the script writing and got to write all the
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Guardians scripts so that he could maintain their character integrity
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: with his stuff.
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: Another point to Marvel then.
- 1:20:07Speaker 6: Being smart enough to keep, you know, he is the
- 1:20:09Speaker 6: He's continually been the voice of that one. I mean,
- 1:20:11Speaker 6: they've handed off Avengers and they've handed off a lot
- 1:20:14Speaker 6: of the individual movies every time, but he's the only
- 1:20:17Speaker 6: voice of the Guardians. So it does make sense on
- 1:20:21Speaker 6: the real world script stuff. I also read in that
- 1:20:24Speaker 6: lineup that they did not give Tom Holland the script
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: for this movie.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: I guess he got his scenes and stuff.
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: But because he had spilled so much about homecoming beforehand,
- 1:20:34Speaker 6: I guess being the kid that he is, he was
- 1:20:36Speaker 6: like on Twitter, like, Hey guys, guess what happens? And like,
- 1:20:39Speaker 6: So this time they were like, here's your scenes. That's
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: all you get.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: You can come to the premiere if you'd like.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: I'm like, that's pretty funny. He's still kind of a
- 1:20:48Speaker 6: dorky kid. But yeah, that's something that did seem a
- 1:20:53Speaker 6: little weird, if that's true. Just reading it, I didn't
- 1:20:56Speaker 6: get that watching it. To me it seemed like a
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: few weeks after Guardians 2. They're still kind of at
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: that same point in the relationship that she's finally come
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: around because they at least kissed and it seemed genuine
- 1:21:07Speaker 6: for that moment. But it didn't seem four years in
- 1:21:11Speaker 6: into a relationship. Like that seemed a little weird. Now, granted,
- 1:21:15Speaker 6: it would make sense why he's now so upset that like,
- 1:21:17Speaker 6: if he's spent four years with her in a relationship,
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: it'd be a little more likely that he'd be upset.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: But I don't know.
- 1:21:24Speaker 6: That just seemed like a weird timeline jump that I
- 1:21:26Speaker 6: had not heard until right now.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: I didn't know about that four years either.
- 1:21:32Speaker 6: On the grand plan, giving them points for, did they
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: plant that seed that far back? Do you think they
- 1:21:39Speaker 6: had the eye figured out in Guardians 2 going into
- 1:21:43Speaker 6: Ragnarok to give him the eye from Guardians? Because that's
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: the eye that Rocket steals in Guardians 2 that he
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: then gives to Thor in this movie.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: Do you think they really? The planet that had the
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: sex bots was where supposedly. That's where he says he
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: stole it. When he says I got it from a
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: guy in blah, blah, blah, it was the planet that
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: had the sex robots.
- 1:22:06Speaker 6: Not the one on the ship because baby Groot brings
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: an eyeball and he's like, keep that eye.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: He'll wake up and he won't know.
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: Where his eye, like it's not that one.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Cause that's why I.
- 1:22:16Speaker 6: Assumed they were, they were just making the running joke
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: of like, he steals the leg in the first one.
- 1:22:21Speaker 6: He steals the eye in the second one. So like this,
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: I was like, were they just doing it to hit
- 1:22:27Speaker 6: that joke again in the second one? Or did they
- 1:22:29Speaker 6: already go? No, I think we're going to Odin-style take
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: Thor's eye. So how about somewhere down the line? Were
- 1:22:36Speaker 6: they really that far ahead in the game?
- 1:22:39Speaker 7: I like it either way. I really like it if
- 1:22:42Speaker 7: they're just like, Yeah, let's do it like that. Or
- 1:22:45Speaker 7: if they were like, okay, Thor's got a... They're in
- 1:22:47Speaker 7: the middle of shooting. And they're like, holy shit.
- 1:22:49Speaker 6: Remember that?
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: Remember that?
- 1:22:51Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, make that work. Make that work.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: Could have even been a production level. They're doing the
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: makeup for his patch, and he's like, you should just
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: give me a fake eye. And they're like, you know.
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: You know. You're hanging out with a rocket, actually. But no,
- 1:23:05Speaker 6: it is one of those, yeah. As much as I
- 1:23:08Speaker 6: said that in Ragnarok, it was like, it is kind
- 1:23:11Speaker 6: of nice that they like, gave it some sort of
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: stakes and like lasting things happen like he lost an
- 1:23:16Speaker 6: eye they killed the the you know his his hammer
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: both are back by the end of this movie like
- 1:23:22Speaker 6: he kind of has an eye again and he has
- 1:23:24Speaker 6: a new kind of more bitching hammer so i don't
- 1:23:27Speaker 6: know but i kind of approve of both of them
- 1:23:30Speaker 6: because one's funny and the hammer is pretty badass especially
- 1:23:33Speaker 6: with the groot arm like that kind of Gives it
- 1:23:37Speaker 6: such a family feel to it that all of this.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Could only happen because of this. The fact that Thor
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: was talking to him said it was like an elective.
- 1:23:48Speaker 7: He learned it in high school.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Like we all do. So I think this was the
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: first Marvel superhero movie to really, really land with the music.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: After a second viewing, I realized how much how good
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: the music really is in this one. The score, even everything,
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: the generic score is really fantastic. I found like, again,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: with a second viewing, like I found myself noticing it
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: so much more and thinking this almost wants to be
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: a little bit Star Wars. There's a whimsy to the
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: music that did not used to be there. But that
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: and the way the music is used to choreograph with fights,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: the way they will trickle in just enough instruments or
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: enough melody to From someone on screen, there's a lot
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: of like, I mean, obviously someone's like Black Panther. Once
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: anything Black Panther, you start getting some African drums mixed
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: in with the Avengers theme and stuff. When Captain America
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: first shows up on your second viewing, this blew me away.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Maybe it won't happen to everyone. The second viewing, when
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Captain America first shows up on the other side of
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: the train and they first hit Avengers music after having
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: all that dark opening with Thanos, that's that first high spot.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: It It killed me in the theater, knowing where the
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: movie's going to go and stuff. Like I said, the
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: second viewing was even worse. It's like everyone's theme music
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: stood out so much more to me the second time
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: because it's just like, I don't know, I guess emotionally
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: being there knowing all these people are about to die
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: and stuff. The music just seems so much more involved.
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: Is this the same guy that did the Avengers?
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I'm not sure. I didn't look it up.
- 1:25:24Speaker 6: Well, the only thing reading that, like, this is the first,
- 1:25:27Speaker 6: because this is the first departure for the russo brothers
- 1:25:31Speaker 6: like they've always worked with the same guy doing their
- 1:25:33Speaker 6: score through all the captain america stuff and maybe before
- 1:25:37Speaker 6: that but they it said this was a whole new
- 1:25:41Speaker 6: person coming in to do this one so i don't
- 1:25:43Speaker 6: know if it was because.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: I'm trying to i could tell the Avengers like the
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: i don't know just my second viewing it stood out
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: so much more than the first like i said the
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: first time i i just think there's too much going
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: on for me to take it all in at once.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: But the second viewing, the music stood out a lot.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: And I think the music's really, really good in this one. Even,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: like I said, the original stuff, just your background stuff,
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: that doesn't have to be great. There's a lot of
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: charm to it. It's just, I don't even know how
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: to explain it. It's almost like a little bit non-traditional.
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: There's almost like whistles and things like that that almost
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: feel more like Star Wars, more like, I don't know,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: like an old John Williams kind of feel.
- 1:26:23Speaker 19: Well, I'm glad they got away from the classic rock
- 1:26:26Speaker 19: soundtrack too as much as we still got rubber band
- 1:26:28Speaker 19: man well again that's our entry to guardians like the
- 1:26:32Speaker 19: one song really that was a good way to because
- 1:26:35Speaker 19: that was such a part of the guardians.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: Movies it was we needed that still have that cue.
- 1:26:40Speaker 7: But they didn't bombard the whole movie you know with
- 1:26:43Speaker 7: it and when does drax get his own movie when do.
- 1:26:47Speaker 6: We get to see that damned energy i mean i i.
- 1:26:50Speaker 7: Read something on online the other day that was like
- 1:26:52Speaker 7: he's the best character in the Marvel Universe that's also
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: completely useless.
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: I was like, that's kind of right. He really usually
- 1:27:02Speaker 6: does not accomplish anything. In the comics. He always tries.
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: He tries so hard.
- 1:27:07Speaker 6: He makes some bold effort to do something. And even
- 1:27:10Speaker 6: when it turns out right in the other movies, it's
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: usually never his doing.
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: And he was so proud of himself for being able
- 1:27:16Speaker 7: to make himself invisible.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: He's good at it, dude.
- 1:27:22Speaker 8: I think Drax was the one that I noticed Nick
- 1:27:25Speaker 8: was laughing the most at. And I was like, this
- 1:27:27Speaker 8: is how I'm going to get you to watch Guardians.
- 1:27:31Speaker 6: I mean, it's hard to not like any of them, really. Again,
- 1:27:34Speaker 6: Star-Lord is the most annoying of the bunch, really. But
- 1:27:38Speaker 6: Drax is freaking charming in the dumbest possible literal way.
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: Gamora's just kind of a badass. How could you not
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: like her?
- 1:27:46Speaker 6: Rocket's awesome.
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: Mantis is adorable.
- 1:27:49Speaker 6: Who doesn't love Groot?
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: Everything but Mantis is cute. Yeah, Mantis you have to
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: like now. She was adorable in the last one. Jumping
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: up and down in the background. We were talking about
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: the gravity. Earlier when they're in the ship and he's like,
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: put on your mean face. If you look at her,
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: she makes this real angry face in the background.
- 1:28:06Speaker 6: She gets the Kevin Bacon.
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: One.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: I remember there's something about Footloose, but Oh, because he says, like,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: Peter's there, and he's like, is Footloose still the greatest
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: movie ever made? And he's like, I don't think it
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: ever was.
- 1:28:19Speaker 6: Yeah. Damn it, Parker.
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: Man, his death was brutal.
- 1:28:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Peter, was he doing a Doctor Who thing? Was the,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: I don't want to go, I don't want to go,
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: was that supposed to be a.
- 1:28:29Speaker 7: I don't know if it was a reference Doctor Who.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: I kind of got a little bit of the one
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: that played Purple Man. Like, when he died, I remember
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: him kind of doing a, having a weak moment. He's like,
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: I don't want to go. I don't want to go.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: I didn't know if that was him doing another pop reference.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: It was such a heavy moment. I was like, I
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: think he just means.
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: I think he's a scared kid.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want to die.
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: Yeah, like a teenage way of dying.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: But I heard some people were like, oh, he did
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: a Doctor Who thing as he was dying. I was like, what?
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: He did?
- 1:28:53Speaker 8: He was a scared kid.
- 1:28:54Speaker 7: It's gotten to where people read pop references in places
- 1:28:57Speaker 7: that they're not actually there because it's similar to something else.
- 1:29:02Speaker 8: Because, yeah, you see everybody else die and they're kind
- 1:29:05Speaker 8: of like, you know... They've had their time. But when
- 1:29:08Speaker 8: you're a teenager and you have your whole life ahead
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: and you just became Spider-Man, you just became a real Avenger.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: And then you're like, no, no, no, no. That is
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: so sad the second time. It's funny when he does
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: this whole thing on his shoulders, but the camera sits
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: on him and you get to see him take it
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: in and puff up like, I'm an Avenger. And you're
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: just like, you're going to fucking die in an hour.
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: You're going to die in an hour. You're so happy
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: to be an Avenger and you are about to die.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: There's so many heavier moments the second time.
- 1:29:34Speaker 6: Yeah, double checking, it is him on Infinity War 2.
- 1:29:37Speaker 6: So they brought in the original Avengers composer to come
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: back and do this, which is a departure for the
- 1:29:44Speaker 6: Russo brothers, but it's tying into all the Avengers stuff.
- 1:29:48Speaker 6: So that is a good mixture then to be able
- 1:29:50Speaker 6: to balance this many character themes and still have our
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: Avengers theme going.
- 1:29:56Speaker 8: I think the key, if you're going to try to
- 1:29:58Speaker 8: integrate so many characters, is to be relatively minimal.
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: And consistent through the whole thing.
- 1:30:04Speaker 8: And I think because, I mean, I usually notice music
- 1:30:09Speaker 8: very much. And I didn't notice it, not because it
- 1:30:12Speaker 8: wasn't good, but because it was integrated so well in
- 1:30:15Speaker 8: the movie that it was just part of the scene.
- 1:30:17Speaker 6: I think it helps that you have characters with an
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: identifiable theme, which all of those movies kind of have come,
- 1:30:24Speaker 6: especially the Avengers one is great. The Guardians one is great. So, like,
- 1:30:28Speaker 6: we've already got these really solid characters. no like recognizable
- 1:30:32Speaker 6: themes so then to be able to back off and
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: add in black panther and add in spider-man.
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: And strange i was surprised again the first time to
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: cut the strange like i said if you kind of
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: listen for it like you'll you'll hear their melodies get
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: get peppered in for like you know the first couple
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: seconds on screen and even strangers like oh that is
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: strange as melody isn't it like it changed a little
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: bit there But even as a movie, I couldn't have
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: told you what Doctor Strange's theme was, but now hearing
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: it like this, I was like, oh, that is, yeah,
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: that's that melody they did in his movie.
- 1:31:01Speaker 8: That is, yeah. I was surprised that Doctor Strange didn't
- 1:31:04Speaker 8: just do more time stuff while he had the time stone.
- 1:31:07Speaker 8: He did the whole Shiva thing, but I just felt
- 1:31:11Speaker 8: like he could have used the time stone more.
- 1:31:13Speaker 6: Then he did.
- 1:31:14Speaker 8: I mean, maybe because he had already meditated.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: I assumed a 14 million vision. I'm assuming he's smart
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: enough to think about rewinding time, too. Because in my head,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I was like, well, rewind time and prepare.
- 1:31:23Speaker 7: Well, he did because when he hands Thanos the stone.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: He tells Tony, look, I'm sorry, this is the only way.
- 1:31:32Speaker 7: Which to me makes me think that you have all
- 1:31:34Speaker 7: those visions. That one was very specific where he's like, yeah,
- 1:31:38Speaker 7: there's only one way it works out, guys. And all
- 1:31:41Speaker 7: of that has to happen exactly the way it happened.
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: And Tony Stark has to live.
- 1:31:45Speaker 7: Which I'm sure they'll explain in part two. Yeah, Tony
- 1:31:47Speaker 7: Stark has to.
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: He's the only one that Thanos let live on that planet.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: So he's stranded on a... Unless you're going to say
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: his nanosuit can space travel.
- 1:31:55Speaker 6: Which I... Maybe.
- 1:31:57Speaker 8: It's going to be like the Martian.
- 1:31:58Speaker 6: He's going to be alone there on the planet. He's
- 1:32:00Speaker 6: going to start farming. He's going to figure it out.
- 1:32:02Speaker 7: I really hope that's how part two opens. Tony Stark
- 1:32:06Speaker 7: in like half a suit.
- 1:32:07Speaker 6: 17 years later, Tony Stark farming, you know.
- 1:32:12Speaker 7: Making his own alcohol.
- 1:32:15Speaker 6: Maybe it's best that he doesn't have alcohol, knowing his history.
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: But that is something I was kind of surprised by,
- 1:32:22Speaker 6: is I really.
- 1:32:25Speaker 6: I mean, surprised in both ways. Like, when we got
- 1:32:28Speaker 6: to that scene, I'm like, he's about to kill Tony Stark. Like,
- 1:32:32Speaker 6: it was one of those, I'm like, are they going
- 1:32:34Speaker 6: to go down that path? And then I was kind of, like,
- 1:32:36Speaker 6: surprised that they didn't because I feel like they've been
- 1:32:39Speaker 6: leading to that for so long. Like, the first Avengers,
- 1:32:42Speaker 6: I was like, this could be a way to, you know,
- 1:32:45Speaker 6: take Tony out of the mix and, like, you know,
- 1:32:48Speaker 6: hand it off to Captain America and, like, because even then, like, again,
- 1:32:52Speaker 6: almost real world, I was like, Robert Downey Jr. might
- 1:32:55Speaker 6: want out of this deal already. He'd already made three movies.
- 1:32:58Speaker 8: I thought that this was going to be the last
- 1:33:00Speaker 8: movie because I thought I'd been hearing all these rumors
- 1:33:02Speaker 8: about this being his last movie.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:33:05Speaker 8: Such and such being his last movie and so i
- 1:33:07Speaker 8: thought he was gonna die and then he didn't i
- 1:33:09Speaker 8: was like you're the only one i thought was gonna.
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: Die well that's what i was shocked by the end
- 1:33:14Speaker 6: because the other one i thought because i even thought
- 1:33:16Speaker 6: maybe that big scene of captain america like head to
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: head with thanos is like and maybe a second later
- 1:33:23Speaker 6: he dies which he does just drop him in that
- 1:33:26Speaker 6: one punch so it's like it got close but i
- 1:33:28Speaker 6: was like watching the trailer i was like one or
- 1:33:31Speaker 6: the other, right? I mean, we've got to lose one
- 1:33:34Speaker 6: of those two guys, if not both to move to
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: this next phase. So the fact that they didn't do that,
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: like I was kind of shocked because I assumed, you know, again,
- 1:33:44Speaker 6: Robert Downey Jr. has been doing it longer than anyone.
- 1:33:47Speaker 6: He's a 10 year veteran on this process. So I
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: can see them wanting to mix it up, maybe him
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: wanting to do other stuff. So I could see them.
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: It's time to get rid of him. And, you know,
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: maybe we'll, maybe you know Don Cheadle moves into that
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: spot or maybe they just bring somebody new in again
- 1:34:04Speaker 6: I'm now voting for Black Panther's little sister but if
- 1:34:07Speaker 6: um if not like even in the comic like they've
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: killed off Captain America like we've seen like either Bucky
- 1:34:15Speaker 6: takes over or like uh Falcon takes over like I've
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: seen you know all these other alternate versions in the
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: comics so the fact that they didn't kill either Iron
- 1:34:25Speaker 6: Man or Captain America is kind of shocking to me.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Like I said, all four Avengers are there.
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: But I expected one of those two, if not both,
- 1:34:32Speaker 6: to probably get taken out in this process. Which, again,
- 1:34:36Speaker 6: no telling what will happen in the second half. But
- 1:34:38Speaker 6: the fact that both of them made it this far,
- 1:34:41Speaker 6: I was kind of surprised by.
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: I think Tony dies in it, for sure. And probably
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: Captain America, too.
- 1:34:48Speaker 6: That's kind of where I thought we were going in
- 1:34:50Speaker 6: this one. I think one of them will be left.
- 1:34:53Speaker 7: In the next one, but I do think one of...
- 1:34:55Speaker 7: And I also kind of think Banner will go in
- 1:34:57Speaker 7: the next one.
- 1:34:58Speaker 6: That's what I'm wondering. What was the reasoning behind the
- 1:35:04Speaker 6: tease there? The fact that we get Hulk for a
- 1:35:06Speaker 6: minute at the beginning, and he kind of gets his
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: ass kicked, and like.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: Hulk's afraid.
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: But what.
- 1:35:13Speaker 7: I think it has something to do with Black Widow
- 1:35:17Speaker 7: being back around.
- 1:35:18Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:35:18Speaker 7: And he doesn't want.
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: I mean, that was... Like, he went for years being
- 1:35:22Speaker 6: nothing but Hulk, and now he does not want to
- 1:35:26Speaker 6: go there at all. So it's like, and from the inside, like,
- 1:35:30Speaker 6: Banner wants him to come out, and he won't do it.
- 1:35:32Speaker 6: So what, again, I can't make up, like, from both ends.
- 1:35:36Speaker 6: I'm like, almost from the story end, yeah, I want
- 1:35:38Speaker 6: to figure out the mechanics behind that. But even from
- 1:35:41Speaker 6: the filmmaking end, I'm like, dude, that is your money. Like,
- 1:35:43Speaker 6: people love those Hulk fights.
- 1:35:46Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:35:46Speaker 6: So the fact that you guys, once again, a bold
- 1:35:49Speaker 6: move for the Russo brothers to like, you know that
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: thing that brings everybody to the theater?
- 1:35:53Speaker 9: Nope.
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: Number one, he's going to get his ass kicked. And
- 1:35:56Speaker 6: from that point on, there was no Hulk in the
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: rest of the movie. And I'm like, that's a surprise
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: move from them just from a real world standpoint of
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: like not having fans be like, what the hell? Why
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: we came here for the Hulk?
- 1:36:09Speaker 7: That's what made me realize that he wasn't going to
- 1:36:11Speaker 7: die in this movie.
- 1:36:12Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 1:36:12Speaker 7: Because- When they started showing people burning away or.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Whatever, I was like, yeah.
- 1:36:18Speaker 7: I was like, I don't think they're going to take
- 1:36:20Speaker 7: Banner out because they haven't resolved this whole issue.
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: Yeah, whatever. We need to know why the Hulk side
- 1:36:28Speaker 6: of him comes out and just screams no every time. Yeah.
- 1:36:33Speaker 6: Then I'm back to the character end of it. What
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: is it that we think the Hulk is afraid of?
- 1:36:38Speaker 6: Is it just Thanos? Is it Death?
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: I got the impression he got his ass kicked. He
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: got his ass handled. And I think Thor, from Ragnarok,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: Thor is kind of like a child. He acts like
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: a kid. And he just got bullied the fuck up.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: And he's like, Hulk, sorry. I think it was like
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: a kid getting beat up by a bully. I think
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: he is afraid of coming out now because he's legit
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: afraid of Thanos.
- 1:37:05Speaker 7: I think a lot of it, though, has to do
- 1:37:07Speaker 7: with the relationship with Black Widow.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: But it was before that.
- 1:37:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: When he was with Strange in the street, he wouldn't
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: come out. And that was before he saw Black Widow.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: I think he's just legit afraid of all these guys.
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: But there's also the fact that he was back on
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: Earth where she was also.
- 1:37:24Speaker 6: Where he knows she is. And I mean, again, it
- 1:37:27Speaker 6: is weird that he went through that slingshot to the
- 1:37:32Speaker 6: other end of like, I'm just going to stay Hulk
- 1:37:35Speaker 6: so I don't have to deal with those feelings. Hulk
- 1:37:38Speaker 6: doesn't think about that stuff. So now that he's back...
- 1:37:42Speaker 6: not wanting to turn into Hulk like is it more
- 1:37:44Speaker 6: of like because for in like the beginning run it
- 1:37:47Speaker 6: was almost a fear thing like he was afraid like
- 1:37:50Speaker 6: he like there's that moment on the ship where he
- 1:37:52Speaker 6: almost kills her so was it like in the beginning
- 1:37:55Speaker 6: I'm afraid I'm going to end up hurting you or
- 1:37:57Speaker 6: everyone I love and I'm going to put Hulk away
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: then when he slingshots back to I'm staying Hulk so
- 1:38:02Speaker 6: I don't have to deal with my feelings for her
- 1:38:06Speaker 6: and for protecting her and for protecting Earth and all
- 1:38:08Speaker 6: of it like so now that we're back at this
- 1:38:11Speaker 6: other version I'm like I'm trying to decide where we
- 1:38:14Speaker 6: land on that. The Hulk character, more than Banner, is
- 1:38:19Speaker 6: trying to protect. Is it just himself? Is it his
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: relationship or what's going to happen dealing with Black Widow?
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: It's all of them.
- 1:38:30Speaker 6: It, kind of, but they don't really allow it. That's
- 1:38:32Speaker 6: one of the few things they really kind of don't
- 1:38:34Speaker 6: go down that road that I guess is all coming
- 1:38:36Speaker 6: in the second half, but it's very strange.
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: I assume he'll go red. I think that's what they'll...
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: I feel like everyone's going to get some massive power-up Yeah,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: it's like everyone's going to go on their hero's adventure,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: come back super strong, ready to fight Thanos. I just assume,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: I mean, Grey Hulk wouldn't make sense. Grey Hulk's a
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: smarter Hulk, not stronger. Red is technically not Banner, but
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: maybe just as a way to have a Red Hulk present.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: Because Red Hulk was the strongest version of the Hulks,
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: but it was actually Betty's dad. But I don't think
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: they're going to do that for Hulk. Thor's got his weapon.
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: We know Thor can go toe to toe. He just,
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: like I said, like cut through that beam from a
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: full gauntlet. So Captain America and Stark have to, that,
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: that was crazy. I mean, again, with the second viewing,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: I'm like, so he was just being pierced by that beam, right?
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: As he held it. I mean, why can't you? You're
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: essentially immortal, right? 1,500 years old. You now got a
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: weapon that can handle the Infinity Gauntlet. A son just
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: did the magnifying glass trick through your chest and you're alive.
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: You don't have anything to worry about.
- 1:39:50Speaker 8: Yeah, he was just so full of doubt in this
- 1:39:53Speaker 8: movie that maybe it was the only thing holding him back.
- 1:39:57Speaker 8: There's your little takeaway lesson.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: A little moral.
- 1:40:00Speaker 6: And aim for the head. Have we learned nothing from
- 1:40:05Speaker 6: zombie movies? You always go for the head.
- 1:40:07Speaker 8: You double tap.
- 1:40:08Speaker 6: Double tap the brain.
- 1:40:10Speaker 7: As soon as Thanos said that, I was like, oh
- 1:40:12Speaker 7: my God, that seems so obvious now.
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: But like, I didn't even... I.
- 1:40:17Speaker 7: Was like, yeah, he got hit in the chest. That
- 1:40:19Speaker 7: ought to slow him down.
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: Always destroy the brain.
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: That's the rule.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: And then like, what's the power up for Captain America?
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: I would assume some.
- 1:40:29Speaker 6: Again, he's so minor, really, in this.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: Well, he held... Again, with people doing things against a
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: full gauntlet.
- 1:40:35Speaker 6: He held his own.
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: He held that fucking punch.
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: Thanos had to use his right hand to hit him.
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: He was holding back a full gauntlet. So you've established
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: that the Avengers can go toe-to-toe with him-ish. And that's
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: why I feel it might seem oversimplification, but I think
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: the Avengers is just what it takes. You need these
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: four guys together to fight him at once. You had
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: Tony by himself. You had America not with the Hulk.
- 1:41:00Speaker 4: And.
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if the four of them came together
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: and fought him, I think that's.
- 1:41:06Speaker 6: How it's going to go down. It becomes more of
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: the middle plan there, only better executed and with our
- 1:41:12Speaker 6: actual Avengers.
- 1:41:13Speaker 8: And Scarlet, what's her face? She's got to break stones.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: She went to smoke.
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: She's badass, though. Again, watching her, like, I loved her
- 1:41:23Speaker 6: character the whole run.
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: Again, with the movie, like, saying what you're thinking, when
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: she came down to, like, wipe out all those big
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: bladed wheels, it's like, why is she up in the
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: fucking tower?
- 1:41:31Speaker 10: Right, right.
- 1:41:32Speaker 6: She can do this shit.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: I mean, she's Professor X level. They don't stress that enough.
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: She's a Professor X. If he didn't give a fuck
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: about schools and shit, if he just wanted to be
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: about it, that's what Scarlet Witch kind of is.
- 1:41:44Speaker 6: I think she's just coming to that. We did drop
- 1:41:47Speaker 6: her accent.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: I did notice that. That was a little weird. She's
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: not Russian now, apparently.
- 1:41:51Speaker 6: She was never really Russian. At least she tried.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: She tried.
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: We didn't try this one. Every scene is just.
- 1:41:57Speaker 8: They put some focus groups on that bitch and was like, nope,
- 1:42:00Speaker 8: we're going to drop that.
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: But that's, yeah, I mean, watching, like, that first movie,
- 1:42:05Speaker 6: she's still just kind of figuring out she has powers.
- 1:42:07Speaker 6: The next one, it's, like, her dealing with, I don't
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: know how to control these. There are consequences to me
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: using them wrong. Like, I'm, again, like, the Hulk thing.
- 1:42:16Speaker 6: I'm afraid of my power. And then, like, so this
- 1:42:19Speaker 6: is the first time we see where she's kind of
- 1:42:21Speaker 6: got it under control and knows what she can do and, like,
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: when called upon, can deliver and is even willing to
- 1:42:28Speaker 6: make the hard choice by the end of it. So... Again,
- 1:42:31Speaker 6: I love that character, this whole run of the last
- 1:42:34Speaker 6: three outings for her.
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: I really want to believe that they're going to put
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Vision back together. Yeah. Because then he'll struggle with them
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: to bring her back, too.
- 1:42:44Speaker 6: Again, I don't know what to do with that. That
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: was its own weird little side story, too, of them
- 1:42:50Speaker 6: trying to go off and meet again, which is sort of.
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: The.
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: Canon. Well, no. It was kind of the same dynamic
- 1:42:58Speaker 6: of what we had going on with... Bruce and Nat
- 1:43:02Speaker 6: wanting to go off and try to like, let's separate
- 1:43:04Speaker 6: ourselves and just try to live a life away from this.
- 1:43:07Speaker 6: And like, you know, Banner backs out at that point,
- 1:43:10Speaker 6: but you see them kind of go through it and
- 1:43:12Speaker 6: be like, what if we just take ourselves out of
- 1:43:14Speaker 6: this whole mess and like, go just be together and
- 1:43:17Speaker 6: have a life. And like, it obviously doesn't work when
- 1:43:20Speaker 6: you're part of that little circle, but it is interesting.
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: Like watching them just try to cope with their own weirdness.
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: Like they're both very weird and, came from weird upbringings.
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: One got created, but still, like, they're both, like, so
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: socially awkward to, like, shove them together in this little dynamic.
- 1:43:41Speaker 6: And then, like, immediately it just all falls apart and, like,
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: to the point of, okay, well, if you want to survive,
- 1:43:46Speaker 6: you have to kill the one you love.
- 1:43:48Speaker 8: I have a fan theory for bringing back Vision.
- 1:43:51Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:43:51Speaker 8: That T'Challa's sister was, she was, like, working on it.
- 1:43:54Speaker 8: She was working on that soul stone. So she probably
- 1:43:57Speaker 8: has all of that, like, mapped out in her little
- 1:44:01Speaker 8: computer whatever so she might be able to rebuild something similar.
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: Yeah they established that there was like three or four
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: personalities in there that's why i feel like even with
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: the stone gone they're gonna salvage some form of there
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: like he was essentially said he's amalgamation of ultron stark.
- 1:44:17Speaker 7: That's what's gonna happen i'd like to think now that
- 1:44:21Speaker 7: jacqueline said that there's someone from marvel studios at a
- 1:44:24Speaker 7: well i'm picturing an old fashion typewriter who he's typing
- 1:44:29Speaker 7: away and then he hears her say that he's like
- 1:44:31Speaker 7: oh no and like.
- 1:44:34Speaker 1: Wads it up throws away new paper yeah.
- 1:44:37Speaker 8: Hey marvel my venmo username is.
- 1:44:41Speaker 6: Here's my paypal account send the writing credit over right
- 1:44:45Speaker 6: now just go ahead and loop me in on this
- 1:44:47Speaker 6: deal but yeah i i mean that that is kind
- 1:44:52Speaker 6: of an interesting ongoing thing, too, is the fact that,
- 1:44:54Speaker 6: you know, we have the battle in the middle that
- 1:44:56Speaker 6: could have ended it, but the whole vision thing, too,
- 1:44:59Speaker 6: it's like, had she just destroyed him from the get-go, like,
- 1:45:04Speaker 6: we wouldn't have, there is no Infinity Gauntlet to come
- 1:45:08Speaker 6: together to have him, you know, finally have all his powers,
- 1:45:12Speaker 6: so maybe then they could have defeated him, but, like,
- 1:45:14Speaker 6: we had this little, like, And not just her. The
- 1:45:17Speaker 6: entire team's like, you know, we don't sacrifice people. Right.
- 1:45:20Speaker 6: We work to, you know, that's why we are the
- 1:45:23Speaker 6: good guys. It's like we're not willing to sacrifice our
- 1:45:25Speaker 6: own people for, you know, anything.
- 1:45:27Speaker 7: Well, because then they're on Thanos' level.
- 1:45:30Speaker 6: Yeah, it's the Thanos way of like, well, you know,
- 1:45:33Speaker 6: the needs of, you know, everyone is more important to us.
- 1:45:36Speaker 7: It's not about Burger King.
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: You have it your way. He's sort of the king.
- 1:45:41Speaker 6: He's got a throne, you know. But no, that, like,
- 1:45:45Speaker 6: you know, that had they just decided to go down.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: That road and she was, like, because eventually she is
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: willing to kill him.
- 1:45:52Speaker 6: Had she just done that? Like, it is, they build
- 1:45:55Speaker 6: the whole last third of the movie, more or less,
- 1:45:58Speaker 6: around what can we do? How many steps can we
- 1:46:01Speaker 6: take to not have to kill this person? To take
- 1:46:04Speaker 6: care of our team member, you know? And the fact
- 1:46:07Speaker 6: that it still comes around to her just having to
- 1:46:09Speaker 6: destroy the stone and him in the process. Like, So
- 1:46:14Speaker 6: is there any avenues we haven't gone down? I feel
- 1:46:18Speaker 6: like we've hit a lot of... This has been really therapeutic, though. Yeah,
- 1:46:21Speaker 6: there's so much to go through that I do keep
- 1:46:25Speaker 6: getting midway into this little story and be like, oh,
- 1:46:27Speaker 6: but this part over here that we didn't even start
- 1:46:30Speaker 6: down yet. So there's just so much going on in
- 1:46:33Speaker 6: this movie that it is overwhelming and yet surprising how
- 1:46:38Speaker 6: well it all comes together.
- 1:46:40Speaker 7: It was overwhelming, but it was also a lot of
- 1:46:42Speaker 7: fun to watch. It wasn't overwhelming to me, anyway. It
- 1:46:46Speaker 7: wasn't overwhelming until you got to the end when it
- 1:46:48Speaker 7: was all over and it just all hits you like
- 1:46:51Speaker 7: a ton of bricks.
- 1:46:52Speaker 6: I think because, as usual, they found that Marvel balance
- 1:46:56Speaker 6: that even as heavy as what's going on in this movie...
- 1:47:00Speaker 6: There's so much fun along the way. There's so much,
- 1:47:02Speaker 6: you know.
- 1:47:02Speaker 7: Which they even discuss balance.
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: Even the, I mean, yeah, even not just the jokes, but, like,
- 1:47:07Speaker 6: even the battle scenes are so awesome. And, like, the
- 1:47:10Speaker 6: action scenes are, like, so well choreographed that, like, everything
- 1:47:14Speaker 6: else along the way is fun, even though we're dealing
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: with death, you know, several times before you get to
- 1:47:19Speaker 6: the end. So.
- 1:47:21Speaker 7: And a nice, one thing I liked is some, it's just, okay,
- 1:47:26Speaker 7: this story, this story, this story.
- 1:47:27Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:47:28Speaker 7: But you're invested in each one, and when it switches
- 1:47:31Speaker 7: to what the other group's doing, you're not like, oh,
- 1:47:33Speaker 7: but I was... I wanted to see that.
- 1:47:35Speaker 8: It comes to a slightly logical stopping place before moving on.
- 1:47:39Speaker 7: Yeah, and it moves on to the next one. You're like, oh, yeah,
- 1:47:42Speaker 7: they're doing this.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: I forgot about that.
- 1:47:43Speaker 8: I did like that, even though it was a cast
- 1:47:47Speaker 8: full of a billion people that were all super famous
- 1:47:51Speaker 8: and super important characters, at some point, they did not make...
- 1:47:56Speaker 8: They focused on... important like uh like thor was important
- 1:48:02Speaker 8: and rocket was important but honestly like uh star lord
- 1:48:08Speaker 8: even though he was there and wasn't he wasn't like
- 1:48:10Speaker 8: really important to the moving of that story came up
- 1:48:13Speaker 8: with the plan yeah that he kept saying and then
- 1:48:17Speaker 8: like on the battlegrounds like you know Black Widow, like, not,
- 1:48:22Speaker 8: she was there and, like, kind of, like, there were
- 1:48:24Speaker 8: several people.
- 1:48:25Speaker 6: I feel like all of that group is, like, kind
- 1:48:27Speaker 6: of the third tier.
- 1:48:28Speaker 8: Yeah, everybody got their nods, but nobody, nobody was, like,
- 1:48:32Speaker 8: cut out, but they were really good at just kind
- 1:48:35Speaker 8: of guiding you as to, like, who you should be
- 1:48:36Speaker 8: paying attention to.
- 1:48:37Speaker 6: Yeah, because I feel like the first, The foursome, you know,
- 1:48:41Speaker 6: more or less with like Strange and Iron Man and
- 1:48:43Speaker 6: Spider-Man was like a main force going on. And then
- 1:48:47Speaker 6: the Guardians going to get their thing in the middle
- 1:48:49Speaker 6: is a main force going. But yeah, it's like the
- 1:48:51Speaker 6: other ones just sort of on hold. Like we're battling
- 1:48:54Speaker 6: some creatures, but like it's not until Thanos comes there
- 1:48:58Speaker 6: that we really get the big battle that you feel
- 1:49:00Speaker 6: like those guys all kind of come into play. Before
- 1:49:03Speaker 6: it's just sort of like these guys are doing stuff too, like,
- 1:49:06Speaker 6: but it never seems like it's. As important as the
- 1:49:08Speaker 6: other stuff going on on the other two kind of
- 1:49:11Speaker 6: all the juggling.
- 1:49:11Speaker 7: I don't think anybody tried to out-act each other.
- 1:49:14Speaker 4: No.
- 1:49:14Speaker 7: Which was really nice to see because when you're dealing
- 1:49:16Speaker 7: with that many A-list celebrities, there's got to be a
- 1:49:20Speaker 7: lot of ego.
- 1:49:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:49:22Speaker 6: And Robert Downey Jr.
- 1:49:23Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: It was sort of his own play.
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: But they all worked very well together. I mean, nobody
- 1:49:30Speaker 7: was chewing on the scenery.
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: Again, even Brolin.
- 1:49:34Speaker 6: Who had license to coming into this. You could take
- 1:49:37Speaker 6: this really cheesy and over the top, but a very
- 1:49:41Speaker 6: subtle performance for somebody that looks like that, that's doing
- 1:49:45Speaker 6: those things surprisingly.
- 1:49:47Speaker 7: It was easy to not think, oh, it's Brolin.
- 1:49:51Speaker 8: Grimace was probably my other favorite.
- 1:49:53Speaker 6: There you go. I was trying to think of some
- 1:49:55Speaker 6: of the other ones.
- 1:49:55Speaker 8: Squidward and Grimace were my favorites.
- 1:49:59Speaker 6: Oh, Lord. You ever see that really old movie? I
- 1:50:04Speaker 6: like that that's just become a thing.
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: It's like, you damn millennials. And Rocket did the get
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: some later. Another Aliens reference when him and Thor were
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: fighting and Rocket was just like, get some, get some.
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: He's doing the Vasquez thing from Aliens. He was just
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: like working out.
- 1:50:21Speaker 6: You want some too?
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: There was Vasquez. Or was it Hudson or Vasquez?
- 1:50:26Speaker 6: Hudson was the... You want some?
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: Okay, maybe it was Hudson.
- 1:50:30Speaker 6: I'm sorry. He's always like, get some, get some. So
- 1:50:33Speaker 6: I guess if we've hit most of the main points,
- 1:50:35Speaker 6: I mean, we're coming to the end. The movie's coming
- 1:50:39Speaker 6: to the end. Do we want to at least the
- 1:50:41Speaker 6: post credits? Like we get again, two more big stars.
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:50:46Speaker 6: One and a half big stars. I don't know where
- 1:50:47Speaker 6: the hell Kobe's at these days, but yeah, but I
- 1:50:50Speaker 6: mean the fact that even she returned, like it's been
- 1:50:52Speaker 6: a long time since we've seen her.
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: In a movie.
- 1:50:54Speaker 6: So like the fact that, we you know we roll
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: up we've got another you know huge cast member like
- 1:51:01Speaker 6: he was the whole reason these movies came together he's
- 1:51:04Speaker 6: been gone for a long time too so like we
- 1:51:07Speaker 6: get that moment and then start watching the world fall
- 1:51:09Speaker 6: apart so i.
- 1:51:11Speaker 7: Figured sam jackson would i honestly thought he would be
- 1:51:15Speaker 7: in the movie you know towards the end but earlier
- 1:51:19Speaker 7: than what he was yeah but then i i I
- 1:51:23Speaker 7: almost feel like that post-credits scene was really unnecessary because
- 1:51:26Speaker 7: it's like... I mean, yeah, they got burned away too, but.
- 1:51:30Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I like it just for that last
- 1:51:32Speaker 6: second of it that you're like, okay, we see where
- 1:51:35Speaker 6: we're going now. Like, we do see what's going to
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: lead us into this phase.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: It shouldn't have been at the end. What was that
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: symbol on the... I don't think you make everyone sick.
- 1:51:42Speaker 6: It's Captain Marvel.
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:51:44Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:51:46Speaker 7: Because my wife asked me what it was.
- 1:51:47Speaker 6: Yeah, I think everybody in the theater was playing that
- 1:51:50Speaker 6: game of like the one person knew, the other person,
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: and they went, what's that sound? So like you'd hear
- 1:51:55Speaker 6: like a hundred times around going, it's Captain Marvel. So yeah,
- 1:51:58Speaker 6: I feel like they played that just subtle enough that
- 1:52:02Speaker 6: like they didn't hit you over the head with it,
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: but any comic book geek's going to be like, oh, okay. Well, yeah.
- 1:52:07Speaker 6: So I don't know. I kind of like it.
- 1:52:09Speaker 7: That makes sense what you were talking about with Captain Marvel.
- 1:52:12Speaker 7: Having always been around.
- 1:52:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: Well, that's the whole deep cut thing. Like in Doctor Strange,
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: when he has his accident, he's getting a call about her.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: Like it says, we got this soldier. She just hurt
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: her neck. This, this, this. And that was, again, years ago.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: Because her movie will be a prequel.
- 1:52:28Speaker 6: Her movie will.
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: Be before this. You'll see S.H.I.E.L.D. establish her. She's going
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: to be out in space doing shit. But she's, like
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: I said, she's Tony Stark level power. She's not Hawkeye.
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: She can come in and do shit. So she's going
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: to bring some next level shit.
- 1:52:44Speaker 6: I mean, who knows?
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Maybe just how they do Fantastic Four. I would not
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: be opposed. I would not either. With her scooping up,
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: or Silver Surfer. If you want to at least allude
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: to it, at least have her bring Silver Surfer.
- 1:52:54Speaker 20: Please.
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: Because he goes for the glove like twice in the comic.
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: He'll just shoot by and try to like snatch it
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: off his hand. And it's this thing that Thanos is
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: kind of aware of. Like, I see you over there
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: while I'm fighting. Don't think I'm going to give you
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: that angle. Like, it's neat how in the comics, That
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: is a thing where he's just sitting back like, I'm
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: in distance. I can try to snatch that if you
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: turn the wrong way. So yeah, hopefully she'll bring some
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: next level, next phase. Because my understanding is once Dark
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: Phoenix is over, that's Fox era. Done on X-Men. And
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: that's when Marvel will start tinkering with X-Men and Wolverine
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: and all that stuff.
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: Well, that's... Again, that's... I'm glad to hear, at least
- 1:53:34Speaker 6: your version of it, that she has a reason. Like
- 1:53:37Speaker 6: she's out in space or something. Because again, if we're
- 1:53:42Speaker 6: doing a weird backstory where it goes back decades.
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: If you watch the TV show as S.H.I.E.L.D., that's what's
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: leading to her stuff. Because they acknowledge there's this shit
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: going on out there.
- 1:53:51Speaker 6: Well, because then I'm going to be in the same
- 1:53:52Speaker 6: place I am with the Wonder Woman plot line. Which
- 1:53:54Speaker 6: is like, if you've been around all this time, why
- 1:53:56Speaker 6: are you just sitting on the sidelines watching all these.
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: Other people fight S.H.I.E.L.D.? I don't know what S.H.I.E.L.D.
- 1:54:00Speaker 4: Is.
- 1:54:01Speaker 8: I watch S.H.I.E.L.D.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: They talk about the Skrull and stuff. And she's fighting Skrull.
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: She's out there fighting those green people. It's like the
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: Fantastic Four's main bad guys. So she's out there doing
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: the space fight. And that's basically him like, get home.
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: Like when he hits that device, it's like, get your
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: ass here. We need you here. So she'll come back with...
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: In her movie, like I said, it'll be a prequel.
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: But I assume the movie has to end with her
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: getting that signal.
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: It'll be something where.
- 1:54:29Speaker 6: It's the end of this year.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Her and Ant-Man are the two movies that happened before.
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Ant-Man's pretty close.
- 1:54:34Speaker 6: It's like a few months off.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: I want to believe that they've been duping us with
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: the trailer because if he's a prequel too, I need
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: to see the world going through some shit because if
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: half the world died, it needs to look like the stinger.
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: It needs to look like doom and gloom.
- 1:54:51Speaker 6: That's why I thought that's what, as we went into this,
- 1:54:54Speaker 6: I was like, but I've seen that trailer. I'm like,
- 1:54:57Speaker 6: So does this happen, like, because they even bother to
- 1:55:00Speaker 6: mention that he's not there because, like, I don't know,
- 1:55:02Speaker 6: he and Hawkeye are, like, sequestered or whatever.
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: Yeah, they show, like, a bad guy.
- 1:55:05Speaker 6: They show, like, Spectre or whatever.
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: They show a bad guy and the trailer's like, Really?
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: With all this going on? There's still bad guys?
- 1:55:10Speaker 6: And that's when I'm like, is this like the day of? Like,
- 1:55:13Speaker 6: is this like in the end of like the Ant-Man?
- 1:55:15Speaker 6: Maybe it'll end with people. People start disappearing. We lead
- 1:55:19Speaker 6: to Captain Marvel. Maybe that's the only thing I can think.
- 1:55:21Speaker 6: Which could be a good way to do it if
- 1:55:23Speaker 6: done properly. If this is like going on, there are
- 1:55:25Speaker 6: adventures going on.
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: Kind of simultaneous.
- 1:55:26Speaker 6: Hawkeye needs to be in that stinger.
- 1:55:27Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: Hawkeye needs to be in any stinger that Ant-Man has.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: Kind of like him going, dude, we got to go.
- 1:55:32Speaker 6: Like, I got this text. Yeah. We got some sort
- 1:55:37Speaker 6: of crazy situation going on. And then he disappears. Yeah,
- 1:55:44Speaker 6: that was one of those that I wasn't sure what
- 1:55:46Speaker 6: to do with these. I'm like, how can you do
- 1:55:48Speaker 6: any more movies between now and the other half of
- 1:55:50Speaker 6: this if the world's falling apart? Unless it's a whole
- 1:55:54Speaker 6: movie about the world falling apart.
- 1:55:57Speaker 8: When is Venom coming out?
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: But it's not.
- 1:56:01Speaker 6: That's the other part of it. So it's later this year.
- 1:56:05Speaker 6: It's like summer. Is it October?
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: No, I think it's summer.
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: I think it's like July or August or something.
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: It's not that far off, too. I know it wouldn't
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: have anything to do with it.
- 1:56:11Speaker 3: I'm just.
- 1:56:11Speaker 6: But it's, yeah, it's, again, the other half of... Which
- 1:56:14Speaker 6: is weird that now they are still all owned by
- 1:56:16Speaker 6: the same people, but they're still kind of doing the.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: Sony, Sony.
- 1:56:21Speaker 6: Like, this is still kind of Sony stuff, except Spider-Man.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: But this is still Sony. Like, the Fox Sony stuff.
- 1:56:26Speaker 6: It's weird. It's like they gave up.
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: The rights to Spider-Man, but they wanted the rights to
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: the Sinister Five, Seven, whatever they are, to bad guys.
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: Because they were talking about doing... All these bad guy movies.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: And everyone's like, really? Venom's the first, but if it works,
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: they're going to do a Vulture. They're going to do
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: other Spider-Men.
- 1:56:42Speaker 8: You know you're going to get a pretty good box
- 1:56:44Speaker 8: office just from Tom Hardy.
- 1:56:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:56:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:56:47Speaker 6: I can't decide. Watching that trailer, I'm like, it looks
- 1:56:50Speaker 6: well made, but I can't tell if the story is
- 1:56:52Speaker 6: going to be terrible.
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: It looked okay, because my thought was, and I've heard
- 1:56:56Speaker 7: you say this several times, how can you do Venom
- 1:57:00Speaker 7: without Spider-Man? But it looks like they may have found.
- 1:57:04Speaker 6: A balance there. They've got an interesting way to at
- 1:57:05Speaker 6: least introduce him.
- 1:57:07Speaker 7: I'm intrigued now, but at the same time, not really excited.
- 1:57:12Speaker 6: That's the thing. Watching that trailer, I'm like, it looks
- 1:57:14Speaker 6: like they've got an A-list star they've got what looks
- 1:57:19Speaker 6: like pretty good effects for something that's going to be
- 1:57:21Speaker 6: really effects heavy and then like so that's the going
- 1:57:24Speaker 6: to be the downfall is if then they just have
- 1:57:26Speaker 6: a shit story yeah that like if the screenplay just
- 1:57:29Speaker 6: does not come together there's no dial like that's where
- 1:57:32Speaker 6: it could totally fall short so that's what worries me
- 1:57:34Speaker 6: a little more and.
- 1:57:35Speaker 7: I i don't know a whole lot about venom but
- 1:57:38Speaker 7: if i didn't know like the basics i don't think
- 1:57:41Speaker 7: i'd care yeah you know by the by the trailer
- 1:57:44Speaker 7: at all i think i'd just be like yeah it
- 1:57:45Speaker 7: kind of looks like spawn And that would be, you know.
- 1:57:49Speaker 6: Well, I like that first trailer didn't even say what
- 1:57:51Speaker 6: it was.
- 1:57:52Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:57:52Speaker 6: That teaser, like, it just showed the mouth, like, logo
- 1:57:56Speaker 6: that they have. And, like, I think at the very
- 1:57:58Speaker 6: bottom it was, like, VenomMovie.com or something. But it did
- 1:58:03Speaker 6: not even pop up with an actual title. It just
- 1:58:05Speaker 6: had the logo, and that was it.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: So i think it's strange that it's being pitched like
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: an anti-hero yeah the fact that they used.
- 1:58:13Speaker 8: The word anti-hero made me it turned me off yeah.
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: Yeah that's the problem with them now is eventually he
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: even as a bad guy was so popular they did
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: that thing where eventually he's become a good guy but
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: of like if this is day one he's not an
- 1:58:24Speaker 1: anti-hero he's a fucking villain. He's a murderer. Why are
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: we doing anti-hero out the gate? Is Spider-Man going to
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: fight him then? If he's anti-hero, that's kind of good.
- 1:58:36Speaker 1: Carnage is your fucking evil Venom thing to really dig
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: in on. I don't know. I'm skeptical just on the
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: writing of it. Because like I said, in the trailer,
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: it even says anti-hero. And I'm like, no.
- 1:58:51Speaker 6: That's the stuff that worries me.
- 1:58:53Speaker 1: And Tom Hardy talking a lot?
- 1:58:55Speaker 14: Sorry.
- 1:58:55Speaker 6: It's not his thing.
- 1:58:56Speaker 1: It's like they made him a little bit dopey. He's
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: got a bit of a lisp or something. It seems
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: like he has a little bit of a simple way
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: of speaking. We're like, are we supposed to feel a
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: little bad for you too?
- 1:59:05Speaker 6: Lately, we just don't hear him talk a whole lot.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: So that could be it.
- 1:59:08Speaker 8: Pretty much every time Tom Hardy talks, he sounds fucking weird.
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: He is kind of weird.
- 1:59:14Speaker 6: In a good way, normally.
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: Which is fine in Mad Max. This could go many
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: different directions.
- 1:59:20Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:59:21Speaker 8: Have you guys seen that meme of let my man's
- 1:59:23Speaker 8: Tom Hardy breathe?
- 1:59:25Speaker 6: Everything has a mask. That is again, somebody brought up
- 1:59:30Speaker 6: like the number of like, yeah, I knew the two
- 1:59:32Speaker 6: main ones, but then they were like this one too.
- 1:59:34Speaker 1: And this one too. I'm like, Oh yeah, it's like
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: a thing. It's like, I.
- 1:59:38Speaker 6: Can understand these two. Maybe it's sort of happens in
- 1:59:42Speaker 6: the movie, but like, why do all of them do it?
- 1:59:44Speaker 8: Sorry to bring up a meme in real life.
- 1:59:47Speaker 6: Oh no, we're all living a meme.
- 1:59:48Speaker 1: I heard there was one with Thor too. I heard
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: if you look back at all the movies, Thor is
- 1:59:52Speaker 1: always getting slammed up up against glass.
- 1:59:54Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: Like apparently every Thor movie, if you look back, there's
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: at least one scene where he's like, his face is
- 1:59:59Speaker 1: pushed up against glass. And it's like, is that a coincidence?
- 2:00:02Speaker 1: That is weird, but it's true. It's like every Thor movie,
- 2:00:05Speaker 1: he gets his face mashed up up against some glass.
- 2:00:08Speaker 6: Again, we don't get much together, but the moment of
- 2:00:11Speaker 6: them on the battlefield, like, oh, haircut. He's like, ah,
- 2:00:14Speaker 6: you got my beard going. I see. Like that was,
- 2:00:17Speaker 6: It's a nice little, you don't get much with them
- 2:00:18Speaker 6: that whole movie. So that little second of like, ah,
- 2:00:22Speaker 6: working my beard, I see ya. That's pretty fun.
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: Rocket scoping the arm was good too.
- 2:00:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:00:29Speaker 6: That was the, the, I'm gonna get that arm. Again,
- 2:00:35Speaker 6: like they just, they keep nailing that each time of like,
- 2:00:39Speaker 6: Him wanting to take mechanical body parts.
- 2:00:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:00:42Speaker 6: That's his thing. Like, mostly just.
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: To be a jerk.
- 2:00:45Speaker 8: He asked for the gun first.
- 2:00:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:00:47Speaker 1: I mean, he did.
- 2:00:48Speaker 7: It's not for sale. Well, I want that arm.
- 2:00:51Speaker 6: I'll get that arm.
- 2:00:54Speaker 7: Which I thought that was a good name to give him, too.
- 2:00:56Speaker 7: White Fox.
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: I think that's canon. I think there is. I think
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: in the comic they call him that, though. I think
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: there is a persona that.
- 2:01:04Speaker 7: That T'Challa calls him that.
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: Well, I.
- 2:01:07Speaker 6: Again, reading that list today, I don't know if he
- 2:01:10Speaker 6: ends up going by that too, but I think it's
- 2:01:14Speaker 6: the head of security or something at some point in Wakanda.
- 2:01:18Speaker 6: It's called White Wolf.
- 2:01:21Speaker 1: I knew the title existed.
- 2:01:24Speaker 6: They definitely worked that in. It's kind of nice seeing
- 2:01:28Speaker 6: the gang get back together. Winter Soldier had been gone
- 2:01:31Speaker 6: for quite a while, movie-wise. many of these movies, even
- 2:01:35Speaker 6: that last one that he was not really in, even
- 2:01:38Speaker 6: when he was like barely conscious throughout the entire running
- 2:01:41Speaker 6: of our last movie. So kind of seeing everybody get
- 2:01:44Speaker 6: together in the battle there was, it was pretty cool.
- 2:01:48Speaker 12: All right.
- 2:01:49Speaker 6: 2 billion. Do what?
- 2:01:51Speaker 1: 2 billion. I'm calling it. I think it'll happen.
- 2:01:54Speaker 6: I think that's what they said. It's already to the point.
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: 630 million opening weekend. 630 million. I think it'll do 2B. Well, again,
- 2:02:02Speaker 1: how can it, Not really.
- 2:02:04Speaker 6: I will see it at least two more times. We've
- 2:02:07Speaker 6: never seen anything like this before. How could it not
- 2:02:10Speaker 6: reach a new level for movies? Because you've never seen
- 2:02:14Speaker 6: any studio.
- 2:02:15Speaker 1: 18 movies essentially prequel to this. 18 over 10 years.
- 2:02:22Speaker 6: With this many crossover characters, with this many A-list actors.
- 2:02:25Speaker 6: We've never seen anything like this.
- 2:02:28Speaker 7: What else is coming out between now and And the
- 2:02:32Speaker 7: next Avengers, because I read today that that's going to
- 2:02:34Speaker 7: be the 22nd movie.
- 2:02:37Speaker 6: In the official universe?
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: This movie was 19.
- 2:02:41Speaker 4: Was it 19?
- 2:02:41Speaker 6: Yeah, this is 19.
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: So Ant-Man's 20. Marvel is 21. The next Avengers movie
- 2:02:46Speaker 1: is 20.
- 2:02:46Speaker 6: But Spider-Man counts, doesn't it?
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: But it's after. It's after.
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: Okay, so it's... Yeah, Marvel is in the 18th, but
- 2:02:53Speaker 1: the next Superman will happen.
- 2:02:55Speaker 6: Well, no, I mean the Spider-Verse one is December, right?
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: Homecoming counts as part of the 18th.
- 2:03:00Speaker 6: Yeah, so shouldn't that be.
- 2:03:02Speaker 6: Shouldn't there be an extra one in there? Because there's
- 2:03:04Speaker 6: three this year if you're counting the Spider-Man animated.
- 2:03:08Speaker 1: Oh, animated.
- 2:03:08Speaker 6: I don't know if that's canon.
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: Is that canon? It's multiverse.
- 2:03:11Speaker 6: I thought it was part of this. Multiverse.
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: I don't think it's this verse.
- 2:03:15Speaker 10: But I thought it.
- 2:03:15Speaker 6: Was part of this universe.
- 2:03:17Speaker 7: See, this is why I was against all of this
- 2:03:19Speaker 7: multi-universe stuff. In the beginning, it's too much to keep
- 2:03:23Speaker 7: track of.
- 2:03:24Speaker 1: I agree. It finally sucked me in, I admit it.
- 2:03:27Speaker 6: That was the weird outlier that everybody's forgetting about is
- 2:03:30Speaker 6: I thought it was at least part of this Marvel
- 2:03:32Speaker 6: Cinematic Universe. It's a different multiverse, but I thought if
- 2:03:36Speaker 6: they need to play that card of multi-universe, I thought
- 2:03:39Speaker 6: it was part of this new cinematic universe, not part
- 2:03:43Speaker 6: of the Fox stuff, not part of the Sony stuff,
- 2:03:45Speaker 6: but I thought it was legitimately part of the Marvel stuff. Yeah.
- 2:03:50Speaker 6: I don't know if that's true, but that's what I thought.
- 2:03:53Speaker 6: So that'll extra confuse things. So yeah, I think those.
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: Three are the only potential.
- 2:04:00Speaker 6: There's Ant and Wasp, Captain Marvel, and then maybe Spider-Man
- 2:04:04Speaker 6: if he counts. And then I guess next year at
- 2:04:06Speaker 6: this time we're back with part two.
- 2:04:08Speaker 4: Okay. Okay.
- 2:04:11Speaker 6: It's a lot to keep track of.
- 2:04:12Speaker 7: I'm glad that they're only making us wait a year
- 2:04:14Speaker 7: for the next part of this, too.
- 2:04:15Speaker 6: Yeah, that would suck.
- 2:04:16Speaker 7: Because I was.
- 2:04:16Speaker 6: It went even further.
- 2:04:18Speaker 7: When it got to the end of it, I was like,
- 2:04:19Speaker 7: Jesus Christ, I want to wait another four years to
- 2:04:22Speaker 7: see how this plays out.
- 2:04:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:04:23Speaker 7: They already shot it. You know, it'll be out next
- 2:04:28Speaker 7: June or whenever.
- 2:04:29Speaker 1: Yeah, they filmed them at the same time. Did they?
- 2:04:31Speaker 6: I thought they couldn't make it happen. I thought they
- 2:04:34Speaker 6: wanted to.
- 2:04:34Speaker 1: They did most of it. Because they did some of
- 2:04:37Speaker 1: the fake script stuff, too, and they were filming just
- 2:04:39Speaker 1: completely ridiculous shit.
- 2:04:40Speaker 6: Yeah, because they wanted to do it all in one bulk,
- 2:04:42Speaker 6: and they just couldn't secure everyone's schedule.
- 2:04:46Speaker 7: Why can't I imagine?
- 2:04:46Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. The more I thought about
- 2:04:48Speaker 6: it in the middle of the movie, I was just like, good.
- 2:04:50Speaker 6: Can you imagine?
- 2:04:51Speaker 7: Because just the fact that you got all that talent
- 2:04:54Speaker 7: to line up.
- 2:04:55Speaker 6: And the fact that they're all... simultaneously working on other
- 2:04:59Speaker 6: that's why they were like it was so hard to
- 2:05:00Speaker 6: pin down the star lord stuff because he was making
- 2:05:02Speaker 6: jurassic world at the same time when they were shooting
- 2:05:05Speaker 6: this plus you think about like strange is making what.
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: Movie development has like no excuses now yeah really what
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: the fuck is your real excuse.
- 2:05:14Speaker 7: Then but yeah like strange and start are clearly in
- 2:05:17Speaker 7: the same scene at the same time together it's not
- 2:05:19Speaker 7: like they shot one yeah like all right here we're
- 2:05:22Speaker 7: new zealand we'll get you.
- 2:05:23Speaker 6: We'll catch you next time So yeah, that just as
- 2:05:27Speaker 6: a real world feat is equally as impressive as what
- 2:05:29Speaker 6: we saw on the screen. It's all pretty damn impressive.
- 2:05:34Speaker 15: Alright.
- 2:05:35Speaker 18: Any parting words?
- 2:05:39Speaker 6: Then I guess we can leave it at that. I'm
- 2:05:42Speaker 6: sure we will be back in the very near future.
- 2:05:45Speaker 6: At least for more super movies. But we'll probably find
- 2:05:51Speaker 6: some other stuff. There might be a Star Wars coming up.
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: That's all you guys. I have completely checked out of
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: Star Wars.
- 2:06:00Speaker 7: I'm getting there.
- 2:06:03Speaker 1: Whether I want to like it or not anymore, it's
- 2:06:05Speaker 1: just not in my heart. It's completely gone. I can't
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: make myself care anymore. I've been saying this for the.
- 2:06:10Speaker 7: Past three years. What used to make Star Wars great
- 2:06:12Speaker 7: was there were only a couple. They only came out
- 2:06:16Speaker 7: after a long stretch of time. Now they're hitting them
- 2:06:18Speaker 7: year after year after year. It's just like that magic
- 2:06:21Speaker 7: is draining out of them. but I'll still go see
- 2:06:24Speaker 7: solo and I'll hopefully enjoy it.
- 2:06:27Speaker 6: I just don't want to be that person because, and
- 2:06:30Speaker 6: that's not even about stuff. I talked to someone today
- 2:06:33Speaker 6: who is such a geek and so loves their stuff,
- 2:06:38Speaker 6: but they are so old man, get off my lawn
- 2:06:42Speaker 6: about everything that comes out now. And I just know like, I'll,
- 2:06:45Speaker 6: I'm like, I'm going to see him later today. I
- 2:06:47Speaker 6: can go ahead and bet what he's going to say.
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: And like, I just went to town on Infinity War.
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: And I'm like, dude, you just love to hate.
- 2:06:56Speaker 6: You just love to hate anything that is not what
- 2:07:00Speaker 6: you grew up with when you were a little kid. Like,
- 2:07:03Speaker 6: hates all the new Star Wars. Still buying the toys.
- 2:07:06Speaker 6: I'm like, no, you're just a geek, but you want
- 2:07:08Speaker 6: to be a better geek.
- 2:07:09Speaker 1: And that's why it won't change. That's what kills me.
- 2:07:11Speaker 1: That's what kills me.
- 2:07:11Speaker 6: You look on YouTube.
- 2:07:12Speaker 1: To this day, we could probably find a video that
- 2:07:14Speaker 1: was released within the last hour right now on YouTube
- 2:07:16Speaker 1: where somebody is going to be just hate ranting on
- 2:07:20Speaker 1: the last movie, but the background, the back room of
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: his room is going to be full of toys and movies,
- 2:07:25Speaker 1: and you're going to hear him say that, you know,
- 2:07:27Speaker 1: he's going to be so angry when he reviews Solo,
- 2:07:29Speaker 1: and it's like, so you're going to give him money again?
- 2:07:31Speaker 1: But I just bought this new Chewbacca because.
- 2:07:32Speaker 6: He looks really cool. You literally aren't affecting a thing.
- 2:07:34Speaker 1: Like, if you keep going to the movies and you
- 2:07:36Speaker 1: keep buying the shit, it doesn't matter what comes out
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: your mouth.
- 2:07:39Speaker 8: They win.
- 2:07:39Speaker 6: You're giving them license to do what ever they want.
- 2:07:42Speaker 1: You're not making them mad at all.
- 2:07:43Speaker 6: You're proving them right. You're part of the problem.
- 2:07:45Speaker 7: Do you know how many times in the past six
- 2:07:47Speaker 7: months I've had to look people in the eyes and say,
- 2:07:49Speaker 7: Star Wars doesn't owe you anything?
- 2:07:53Speaker 6: I mean, that's, again.
- 2:07:54Speaker 10: It's true, though.
- 2:07:56Speaker 8: That's a very grown up thing to.
- 2:07:57Speaker 21: Say I know and I feel like a dick continually
- 2:08:00Speaker 21: gone on that like talking with the director of the
- 2:08:03Speaker 21: people versus George Lucas and we're both just sitting there
- 2:08:05Speaker 21: going guys get over it like not.
- 2:08:08Speaker 6: Only is it just a movie but it doesn't have
- 2:08:10Speaker 6: to be your movie it's not for you it's for
- 2:08:14Speaker 6: whoever likes it if you don't like it get out
- 2:08:16Speaker 6: but that's where I came in and say okay then
- 2:08:18Speaker 6: stop spending money yeah see that's what i'm saying that's
- 2:08:20Speaker 6: what i'm.
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: Doing i'm like i'm not giving it any more money
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: that's fine like if it's but it seems like yeah
- 2:08:25Speaker 1: i'm an asshole because i don't like star wars anymore
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: it's like i don't want to give it my fucking
- 2:08:29Speaker 1: money anymore i'm trying to do the peaceful thing and
- 2:08:32Speaker 1: step back from this thing and people are like you
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: know i don't know it's insane.
- 2:08:37Speaker 7: But i could hear everyone gasp when you just said
- 2:08:40Speaker 7: it's just a movie.
- 2:08:42Speaker 6: I mean, again, few people love movies as much as
- 2:08:45Speaker 6: I do, but I'm like, it's both. It's like, number one,
- 2:08:49Speaker 6: it's just a movie, get over it. At the same time,
- 2:08:51Speaker 6: I will acknowledge that there is so much more to
- 2:08:55Speaker 6: art in general, and I certainly put film as like
- 2:08:58Speaker 6: one of the higher art forms that many people will
- 2:09:00Speaker 6: argue with, but I'm like, there is something way bigger
- 2:09:03Speaker 6: than it's just a movie, because it's more than just
- 2:09:06Speaker 6: a movie to you, to how you take any movie,
- 2:09:10Speaker 6: how you take any art form is like It's bigger
- 2:09:13Speaker 6: than that. It can be so much more powerful than that.
- 2:09:16Speaker 6: But at the end of the day.
- 2:09:18Speaker 1: It's also just a movie.
- 2:09:20Speaker 6: It's also get over it.
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: Get over yourself.
- 2:09:23Speaker 7: If you like the old ones, enjoy the old ones.
- 2:09:25Speaker 7: And if you don't like the new ones, watch the
- 2:09:29Speaker 7: old ones again.
- 2:09:30Speaker 8: It's like people just kind of wrap up so much
- 2:09:32Speaker 8: of their identity in how a movie.
- 2:09:35Speaker 1: Especially Star Wars, is supposed to be.
- 2:09:36Speaker 6: There's things I'm attached to.
- 2:09:38Speaker 8: They need to defend their territory and defend their ego,
- 2:09:41Speaker 8: defend their personality to the modern versions of Star Wars.
- 2:09:45Speaker 6: And that I don't mind defending. If you will defend,
- 2:09:49Speaker 6: I mean, to me, that's what this show is built around.
- 2:09:52Speaker 6: Like if you can show up and like, tell us
- 2:09:54Speaker 6: why you hate it, that's fine. It's the fact that
- 2:09:57Speaker 6: it's like a knee jerk reaction of like, Oh, that
- 2:09:59Speaker 6: was crap. And then I'm like, I will sit there
- 2:10:01Speaker 6: and list off. Well, I really like this and this,
- 2:10:03Speaker 6: or like this, I had problems with like, If you
- 2:10:06Speaker 6: can at least defend your point of view, like, I'm
- 2:10:09Speaker 6: fine with that. Like, you can not like it, but
- 2:10:12Speaker 6: at least have it be a well-thought-out argument. Bring something
- 2:10:16Speaker 6: to the table. Like, you're entitled to not like whatever
- 2:10:19Speaker 6: you want. But, like, don't just be like, that sucked,
- 2:10:22Speaker 6: and then go on about your day. Like, I'm like,
- 2:10:24Speaker 6: if you... You can't argue with other geeks like that. Like,
- 2:10:27Speaker 6: if you're going to, like, bring some weight to it,
- 2:10:30Speaker 6: that's fine. But if not, like, just shut up. Like, just...
- 2:10:33Speaker 6: If you don't have any reason behind it.
- 2:10:36Speaker 8: It's just gatekeeper.
- 2:10:36Speaker 6: Other than you're spoiled. And yeah, the gatekeeper.
- 2:10:39Speaker 1: And I.
- 2:10:41Speaker 6: Fucking nostalgia to the point of it being dysfunctional. I'm like,
- 2:10:45Speaker 6: not everything has to be like it was when you
- 2:10:47Speaker 6: were a kid.
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: It's not going to be.
- 2:10:48Speaker 6: I can guarantee you it's not going to be. So
- 2:10:52Speaker 6: get over it. Like new things or don't.
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: Sit at home and watch your old shit.
- 2:10:56Speaker 6: But don't just go around complaining about everything. That is
- 2:11:01Speaker 6: so annoying to me now. It's just become such an
- 2:11:04Speaker 6: open wound at this point.
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: I'm like, just sit at home and shut up or
- 2:11:08Speaker 1: go enjoy new things. Like pick one. I don't care which.
- 2:11:11Speaker 8: I'm just laughing about how every podcast turns into Star
- 2:11:14Speaker 8: Wars now.
- 2:11:15Speaker 1: No, I mean, that's the thing. This was about Avengers.
- 2:11:18Speaker 6: Like he, today, he went on a rant about like,
- 2:11:24Speaker 6: everything that was so terrible about this not really like
- 2:11:28Speaker 6: it just immediately like hated it like came up with
- 2:11:31Speaker 6: some sort of grumblings but like i was like well
- 2:11:34Speaker 6: i thought i was surprised they did this and this
- 2:11:36Speaker 6: was and just had no answer for any of it
- 2:11:38Speaker 6: just like whoa and again like we're only dealing within
- 2:11:42Speaker 6: a 10 year span and you're already like i like
- 2:11:44Speaker 6: first avenger i'm like okay nine years ago you liked
- 2:11:48Speaker 6: a movie that's as far back as you can go
- 2:11:50Speaker 6: for a new movie that you like like even within
- 2:11:53Speaker 6: the span, it's not like we're going back 30, 40
- 2:11:55Speaker 6: years to the good old days. I'm like, this was
- 2:11:57Speaker 6: like the early two thousands for God's sakes. And like,
- 2:12:01Speaker 6: you already are like, no, I like that one, but
- 2:12:03Speaker 6: this one's stupid. I'm like, it's just weird. Self-programmed nostalgia
- 2:12:09Speaker 6: of just like the old way was better.
- 2:12:11Speaker 1: And I'm like, don't just knee jerk.
- 2:12:14Speaker 6: Like, if you feel that way, that's fine. You're entitled
- 2:12:17Speaker 6: to not like this new one, but have reasons. Like,
- 2:12:20Speaker 6: legitimate reasons. Not just like, it wasn't like the way
- 2:12:22Speaker 6: I thought it should be. It's not the way the
- 2:12:24Speaker 6: old ones were, because I like the old ones.
- 2:12:26Speaker 8: That's an extremely dangerous mindset to have.
- 2:12:29Speaker 1: Just go watch the old ones. Again, our world is
- 2:12:31Speaker 1: being run by people like that.
- 2:12:34Speaker 7: I want things My word.
- 2:12:35Speaker 8: Yeah, that's really fast to have set up an ideology
- 2:12:39Speaker 8: and a dogma around it.
- 2:12:41Speaker 6: It's been a decade.
- 2:12:44Speaker 8: There hasn't been enough time for there to be a
- 2:12:46Speaker 8: status quo.
- 2:12:47Speaker 1: I know. That's why it's so frustrating. I'm like, you're just.
- 2:12:51Speaker 6: a hater like you just want to hate anything that
- 2:12:54Speaker 6: comes out that's gonna be popular even if it is
- 2:12:57Speaker 6: good like it's fine to dislike things that you don't
- 2:12:59Speaker 6: like but like to just immediately like well this.
- 2:13:03Speaker 8: Is good or to not even be able to imagine
- 2:13:05Speaker 8: how someone else.
- 2:13:06Speaker 6: Might enjoy it to not have some other perspective that
- 2:13:09Speaker 6: like maybe a kid growing up now is gonna see
- 2:13:11Speaker 6: this movie and think it's the greatest thing they've ever
- 2:13:14Speaker 6: seen and like doesn't mean they're right or you're wrong
- 2:13:17Speaker 6: it's just Everybody can have a fucking opinion.
- 2:13:19Speaker 1: I think we're cutting teeth globally. I think now with
- 2:13:23Speaker 1: internet and phone and everything, the fact that the whole
- 2:13:26Speaker 1: world kind of has a one phone system.
- 2:13:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:13:29Speaker 1: I think globally we're dealing with how do we deal
- 2:13:34Speaker 1: with so many opinions? I think even media, even news
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: is kind of dealing with that now. It's like when
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: the whole world can kind of say something and get
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: everyone to hear it. It's like, how do you deal
- 2:13:44Speaker 1: with so many opinions and so much information?
- 2:13:46Speaker 6: And again, we're all so.
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: I think it's not like this star wars movie was
- 2:13:51Speaker 1: so controversial as much as it is so many people
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: have a voice in it now like maybe maybe when
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: empire strikes back came out you didn't know it but
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: there was a huge demographic that fucking hated it yeah
- 2:14:03Speaker 1: but you didn't have a place to voice that where
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: everyone could hear it i think globally and everything in
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: our lives right now you have to come to terms
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: with how you're going to deal with global opinions because
- 2:14:12Speaker 1: there's always going to be a fierce, stark opinion of
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: whatever you ask. But why is it popular to be negative?
- 2:14:17Speaker 6: That's what is really weird. I think that's this wave,
- 2:14:20Speaker 6: this generation, and it's them getting older. It was a pure...
- 2:14:25Speaker 6: We didn't have geeks the way we did until that
- 2:14:28Speaker 6: Gen X thing kicked in. And then it was kids
- 2:14:30Speaker 6: sitting around the house with nothing to do and tons
- 2:14:32Speaker 6: of money to spend on crap, and we watched our
- 2:14:35Speaker 6: 80s and 90s movies or whatever, but it bred that
- 2:14:38Speaker 6: generation of geeks to the point that the world had
- 2:14:41Speaker 6: never seen anything like that before. And then they started
- 2:14:44Speaker 6: to get older and then new things came in and
- 2:14:46Speaker 6: they didn't like new things. So it's like, it became
- 2:14:49Speaker 6: this wave of like, of again, like clutching onto some
- 2:14:54Speaker 6: sort of nostalgia that is so important to me that
- 2:14:58Speaker 6: like the point, again, I just referenced this. It ruined
- 2:15:02Speaker 6: my childhood that they did something like, no, it didn't.
- 2:15:06Speaker 6: Like your childhood is yours to remember and enjoy and, hate,
- 2:15:11Speaker 6: whatever the hell happened in your childhood. But, like, someone
- 2:15:14Speaker 6: making something now should not be able to affect anything
- 2:15:19Speaker 6: before it. And if it does, it's all in your head.
- 2:15:22Speaker 6: You're letting something someone's doing now affect your view of
- 2:15:26Speaker 6: something in the past. Like, again, it's all up to
- 2:15:29Speaker 6: you and what you bring to the table. And all
- 2:15:31Speaker 6: they bring is bitching and hate.
- 2:15:33Speaker 1: And, like, somebody agrees.
- 2:15:34Speaker 8: It's like, I wonder how much, like, they affect market
- 2:15:38Speaker 8: forces and suppress originality and some things that new generations
- 2:15:43Speaker 8: might enjoy, but because their dollars are what's pushing it forward,
- 2:15:48Speaker 8: if they withhold it because of some kind of nostalgic whatever,
- 2:15:52Speaker 8: how much damage are they doing?
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: But they don't even do that right.
- 2:15:55Speaker 6: Once again, it's like, I hated this movie, but I
- 2:15:57Speaker 6: bought this whole bunch of toys because they looked cool.
- 2:15:59Speaker 6: And I'm like, well, you're not even following through with
- 2:16:01Speaker 6: your own thing.
- 2:16:03Speaker 1: There's some dudes on YouTube that are literally just almost daily,
- 2:16:07Speaker 1: at least once a week, or just have some new
- 2:16:09Speaker 1: reason about the SJW war on Star Wars.
- 2:16:11Speaker 6: And this, this, this.
- 2:16:12Speaker 1: And I'm like, your entire room is full of Star
- 2:16:14Speaker 1: Wars product. You don't get a voice. It'd be like
- 2:16:17Speaker 1: if it was a political thing and you were like,
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: I hate this president. And the background is like all
- 2:16:21Speaker 1: that dude stuff. You're wearing his t-shirt. What? Like you
- 2:16:26Speaker 1: have to make a point financially. You can't just do
- 2:16:28Speaker 1: it with your mouth. Disney is never going to stop
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: making Star Wars movies if you buy the shit and
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: talk shit.
- 2:16:35Speaker 6: If you're devoted, yeah. If you're that devoted. If you
- 2:16:38Speaker 6: just have problems here and there, that's fine. You voice
- 2:16:41Speaker 6: your opinion. But, like, again, just have something to back
- 2:16:44Speaker 6: it up. Don't just blanket hate on things, which so
- 2:16:48Speaker 6: many people seem like they do. And, again, it's mostly
- 2:16:51Speaker 6: people of the.
- 2:16:53Speaker 1: Previous.
- 2:16:53Speaker 6: Again, people who have this weird nostalgic attachment to it.
- 2:16:57Speaker 6: Where kids now are just like, eh, whatever. I liked it,
- 2:16:59Speaker 6: I didn't. But they don't get that irate thing going
- 2:17:03Speaker 6: on that I think only exists in people that are
- 2:17:06Speaker 6: that deep-rooted in how much they are attached to and
- 2:17:10Speaker 6: then hate everything else around them.
- 2:17:14Speaker 1: Alright.
- 2:17:17Speaker 7: That having been said, I am nervous about the Masters
- 2:17:20Speaker 7: of the Universe movie that's supposed to be coming out.
- 2:17:22Speaker 7: Because I will probably be going through those emotions when
- 2:17:26Speaker 7: I go to see it.
- 2:17:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:17:27Speaker 6: But, I mean, if we survive the first Masters of
- 2:17:29Speaker 6: the Universe movie, like, I think we'll be. I was
- 2:17:33Speaker 6: pretty bent out of shape when I was eight.
- 2:17:35Speaker 20: Yeah, I know.
- 2:17:36Speaker 6: That's what I'm saying. Like, it's kind of been there
- 2:17:38Speaker 6: all along.
- 2:17:39Speaker 1: So, I don't know.
- 2:17:41Speaker 7: Yeah, what was sad, though, is Masters was still current
- 2:17:44Speaker 7: when that.
- 2:17:45Speaker 1: One was made.
- 2:17:45Speaker 6: That was a weird move. But, I mean, to me,
- 2:17:47Speaker 6: it's like the Transformers. Like, I can think of. about
- 2:17:50Speaker 6: those cartoons and think they're awesome i hate those what
- 2:17:53Speaker 6: what i've seen i've only watched like the first one
- 2:17:57Speaker 6: and a half like that that first one was so
- 2:18:00Speaker 6: bad i was just like you missed the mark but
- 2:18:02Speaker 6: that's my take on it like do i then like
- 2:18:05Speaker 6: say Nobody can go see Marky Mark fight a Transformer.
- 2:18:08Speaker 6: I'm like, no.
- 2:18:09Speaker 1: Obviously not.
- 2:18:10Speaker 6: They make billions of dollars. Go see it if that's
- 2:18:15Speaker 6: your thing. I just think they're really badly done.
- 2:18:18Speaker 1: But it didn't ruin my version of the cartoon.
- 2:18:21Speaker 7: It didn't ruin my childhood.
- 2:18:22Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:18:23Speaker 6: I can go watch a cartoon right now and be like, oh,
- 2:18:25Speaker 6: this is cool. Look, transforming robots.
- 2:18:27Speaker 10: Yay.
- 2:18:28Speaker 6: But I don't know. So you see where we're going.
- 2:18:33Speaker 6: We can't escape from our geekdom, so we best just
- 2:18:37Speaker 6: wrap it up now.
- 2:18:38Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 2:18:39Speaker 7: I didn't mean to get everybody so worked up.
- 2:18:41Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:18:42Speaker 1: But it's for good reason.
- 2:18:44Speaker 6: I'm like, just let go of your pearls. Stop clutching
- 2:18:49Speaker 6: them and move on with your life. Like what you like,
- 2:18:52Speaker 6: but don't be such a whiny bitch about it.
- 2:18:56Speaker 8: Especially, one last thing. Especially, he was saying how some
- 2:18:59Speaker 8: Star Wars geeks are like, You know, social justice wars
- 2:19:02Speaker 8: and Star Wars when Star Wars is so much about equality.
- 2:19:06Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 2:19:08Speaker 6: And it's so much overwhelmingly about an empire choking the
- 2:19:12Speaker 6: life out of a society. And that empire is kind
- 2:19:16Speaker 6: of everyone.
- 2:19:18Speaker 7: I'm still confused by when a couple years ago they
- 2:19:21Speaker 7: said the new Star Wars movie was anti-white.
- 2:19:25Speaker 8: Oh, God.
- 2:19:25Speaker 7: They added one black person.
- 2:19:27Speaker 8: Come on.
- 2:19:28Speaker 7: And it's anti-white? Oh, is it?
- 2:19:31Speaker 6: I'm just like when the.
- 2:19:33Speaker 1: You can't go by the politics of Star Wars.
- 2:19:35Speaker 8: It's like they're... Yeah, it's like they're.
- 2:19:37Speaker 6: When the politics itself changes hands. Like our bad guys
- 2:19:41Speaker 6: are the good guys. And then the good guys turn into, like, again,
- 2:19:46Speaker 6: the army that they raise becomes the stormtroopers that then
- 2:19:49Speaker 6: they're fighting against later.
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: Like, their politics makes no sense.
- 2:19:53Speaker 6: Like, you can't base your life.
- 2:19:55Speaker 1: Around the politics of Star Wars.
- 2:19:59Speaker 6: Or our own politics, for that matter. So just start
- 2:20:03Speaker 6: a better world, guys.
- 2:20:03Speaker 7: Maybe that's what's going on right now. They are basing politics.
- 2:20:06Speaker 1: On Star Wars.
- 2:20:07Speaker 6: I know.
- 2:20:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:20:08Speaker 6: So let's call Captain Marvel and save the universe.
- 2:20:12Speaker 3: Jesus.
- 2:20:13Speaker 8: Tap out.
- 2:20:14Speaker 1: All right.
- 2:20:15Speaker 6: With that.
- 2:20:17Speaker 1: Otherwise, that about does it.
- 2:20:18Speaker 6: We will return next time.
- 2:20:19Speaker 1: Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 2:20:21Speaker 6: Bye, everybody.
- 2:20:22Speaker 10: Bye.
- 2:20:23Speaker 1: Down to earth.
- 2:20:25Speaker 10: Keep on falling when I know it hurts.
- 2:20:29Speaker 12: Going faster than a million miles an hour. Trying to
- 2:20:33Speaker 12: catch my breath some way, somehow. Down to earth It's
- 2:20:40Speaker 12: like I'm frozen but the world still turns Stuck in
- 2:20:44Speaker 12: motion and the wheels keep spinning around Moving in reverse
- 2:20:49Speaker 12: with no way out And now I'm one step closer
- 2:20:55Speaker 12: to being two steps far.
- 2:20:58Speaker 10: From you Man, everybody wants you Everybody wants you.
- 2:21:07Speaker 11: How many nights did it take to count the stars?
- 2:21:11Speaker 10: That's the time it would take to.
- 2:21:13Speaker 11: Fix my heart Oh baby, I was there.
- 2:21:16Speaker 10: For you.
- 2:21:22Speaker 11: How many nights have you wished someone would stay?
- 2:21:25Speaker 10: Light awake, only.
- 2:21:27Speaker 11: Hoping they're okay I've never counted all of mine If
- 2:21:32Speaker 11: I tried, I know it would feel like infinity Infinity Infinity.
- 2:21:50Speaker 10: Infinity Eyes can't shine Unless.
- 2:21:53Speaker 4: There's something burning right behind Since you went away there's.
- 2:21:58Speaker 20: Nothing left in mine I feel myself running out of
- 2:22:03Speaker 20: time And now I'm one step closer to being Two steps.
- 2:22:10Speaker 12: Far from you But everybody wants you.
- 2:22:16Speaker 6: Everybody wants you.
- 2:22:20Speaker 9: How many nights does it take to count the stars?
- 2:22:23Speaker 1: That's the time it would take.
- 2:22:25Speaker 10: To fix my heart. Oh baby, I was there for you.
- 2:22:29Speaker 10: All I ever wanted was the truth.
- 2:22:33Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:22:38Speaker 10: Lie awake only hoping they're.
- 2:22:40Speaker 11: Okay I'll never count it all on mine If I
- 2:22:45Speaker 11: tried I know it would feel like infinity Infinity.
- 2:22:49Speaker 13: Infinity Yeah Infinity.
- 2:23:38Speaker 9: To fix my heart Oh, baby, I was there for
- 2:23:42Speaker 9: you All I ever wanted was the truth Yeah, yeah
- 2:23:46Speaker 9: I'm not tipping when someone would stay.
- 2:23:51Speaker 13: Lie awake, only hoping they're okay.
- 2:23:55Speaker 10: I've never counted all of mine If I tried.
- 2:23:58Speaker 13: I know it would feel like infinity Infinity.
- 2:24:15Speaker 10: Infinity.
- 2:24:17Speaker 6: Should we put the findings of your search on the show?
- 2:24:20Speaker 6: Would you like to reveal to everyone?
- 2:24:22Speaker 7: It's being real slow to open, but something's going on.
- 2:24:25Speaker 6: That's another reason I try not to do things on
- 2:24:27Speaker 6: the show.
- 2:24:28Speaker 1: Everything's laid out all weird.
- 2:24:29Speaker 6: I don't like you.
- 2:24:32Speaker 7: I do it when I have to. This is a
- 2:24:35Speaker 7: different person with my name who lives in Colorado Springs.
- 2:24:38Speaker 6: I have a couple of those, too.
- 2:24:40Speaker 7: And has something on here posted. It's still loading. Something
- 2:24:44Speaker 7: down here posted called sexy video, which.
- 2:24:46Speaker 1: I don't think any of those means.
- 2:24:50Speaker 6: Let's face it, that's you.
- 2:24:52Speaker 3: This episode is a production of Movie Meltdown, produced and
