- Chasing The Magic: Hey everyone, I'm Laura. And I'm Lindy. Grab your Mickey ears. It's time to chase the magic. Laura: Welcome back. We took a little week off. Yeah. Had a little family emergency. We're on the up and up though. Yeah. So that's good. trying to get back into the normal swing of things, but so today's just gonna kind of be like a catch up Disney news and Disney Dreamlight Valley little chit chat. Yeah. So I did want to say this isn't Disney News or anything, but there's a movie coming out called The Love Hypothesis. Okay. It's coming out on Amazon Prime on Wednesday. So it's not a theatrical release. And it's probably not a theatrical release, probably because it's too spicy, which I'm a little upset. The book itself is spicy and the author's known like for her spice. I don't I'm over it. I like I'd rather it I would have rather it had more money and like gone to the theater, but Amazon's been doing a pretty good job with the book adaptations. So I'm not too worried. But anyways, and so now I really like I've read it two or three times. So and I never connected it. But apparently it started out as Kylo Wren fan fiction. And went all the way to this. And it's now Yeah. So the main character, the main male character is Adam Carlson. That's his name in the book. His description is very much Kylo. Okay. Totally Kylo Wren. Yes, I don't see. I it's about a scientist, it's about two scientists. I don't see how it's like they're enemies to love like it's an enemies to lovers, it's whatever, but I just don't see how it's Kylo Wren and Ray. You know? Okay. But here's the fun part: the actor playing. Kylo Ren. Nope. The actor playing Adam Carlson. Sorry. Okay. In the love hypothesis. His wife was Ray. Is Daisy Ridley. What? Okay. Okay. So like the the actress of Ray and the actor of the fan playing. Playing Kylo in the movie. Okay. I'm married. Yeah. Interesting. Yeah. So it's funny. And so, like, apparently. It's been brought up on the press tour a couple times, but so how does that work with like I mean it doesn't outright say like Right. So fanfiction, like I mean a lot of people wrote Hermione and Draco fanfiction. And so like what it is is you're just taking the two characters that have already been developed and you're writing love stories about them. But without saying their names. No, no, no, no. In the fanfiction. Okay, okay. So we're gonna get real deep here. in the readers world. There's a site slash I can't think of the term of it. Site, I'm gonna just call it a website called AO3. Okay. And it's where you could just like self-publish little stories. And it was nothing like you couldn't make money off of it, you couldn't market it. Like, I mean, you could market it once like social media got big. So you couldn't do any of that. And so people would write their fan fiction and publish it there. Okay. And so apparently this story started as that on an AO3 website. Okay. Server. They're called servers. There we go. There we go. I lost that. And so I guess I guess when she went ahead and decided to get it traditionally published, she had to change. I mean, I feel like she had to change a lot. I would think so. Because, like, besides their physical appearance and the whole enemies to lovers, it's an enemies to lovers, fake dating. romance novel. Plus slash professor kind of thing. I don't know, there's a lot of tropes in there. But I don't know. Exactly what you wanted. I mean, I know. so Laura's gonna be we Laura's gonna be doing well. I loved I mean, I was ro watching this movie regardless. I've read the book two or three times. It's one of my favorite books. She's a great author and she's okay, that didn't It does sound familiar. I mean it's been all over the place. Lily Reinhardt's in it. Do you know who that is? I think she was in what's the Jughead moo show? With this with one of the Sprouse twins. She dated one of the Sprouse twins. Okay. What was that show that was on? That's a part of the Sabrina. Remember when Netflix had Sabrina, the creepy Sabrina? Yeah. Okay. What is the comic Archie? Archie. What was that TV show? gosh. You remember? Yeah, but with all the teens. Yeah. That's what she was on. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, the name sounds familiar. Also, her press tour, she has been paying homage, homage, homage, to nineties rom nineties and early two thousands rom coms like outfits. Like she wore the dress Sandra Bullock wore in Miss Congeniality where she comes out of the airplane hanger in the purple dress. She's worn a couple other things. I don't know. She's okay. Yeah, it's fun. I don't know. I'm excited. I'm gonna watch it, but that's just because I love it. So And it comes out Wednesday. Wednesday. The twenty third. It'll already be out by the time this air. Yes. So which that's okay. I probably won't watch it till this weekend though. I don't watch a lot of stuff during the week. But guess we can go on to official Disney news. The Halloween party is officially sold out. Okay. All nights. All nights. I've been meaning to 'cause my cousins leave for Disney on are they going to the party? Did you ask? I told her to try. She was like, I want to go. how are the how old are the littles? They are around the girls. So their oldest is Sadie's age. Okay. So seven and four, I believe. Okay. So but yeah, they're they're all excited. Yeah. I sent them a little candle. Because I was like, and it's 'Cause they're staying at Grandflow and I got fl Floridian candles. my gosh. There's a no, because if it was Grand Flow, I would have taken it. There's a Saratoga Springs studio, a D V C studio available for the time we're going. But I don't want to stay at Saratoga Springs again. Yeah. We already did that. So I'm just still searching. Still hoping. Sorry, that was a because I thought it was Grand Flow for a second. So they leave They leave soon? They leave the twenty sixth, so what that's that's Saturday. And I think they're there for a full week, so I know. Must be nice. It's okay, we got about what? Two years? Thirty-three days? ours. my gosh, yes. I haven't even Someone at work asked me today. They like, Are you like excited still? And I was Yeah, I mean, I'm excited. I said, I didn't go into details about how I'd normally be like planning the minute to minute by this point. And I don't have the capacity to do it right now. So it's probably a what is it called? Blessing in disguise. But I feel like we're we're not even thirty three days. We're we're right thirty one Thursday. We're leaving the twenty second, yeah. Thirty wonders I'm so excited. I am so pumped. Yep. So pumped. So yeah, so all the Halloween parties All twenty eight party nights are now sold out. I feel like it took a little bit longer the day to get it. Yeah, it took a little bit longer and I think We were talking about this, like People aren't wanting to go as much, maybe because they've heard things or about it being crowded. And yes, Main Street is going to be crowded because everything in life now has to go on the internet as we sit here putting this on the internet. But everything has to go on the internet. So they want the perfect picture of you know everything. Everything. And everything perfect is on Main Street. But I think if it's possible for us, we should try and watch Grade. Not on Main Street. Are you gonna be okay? Maybe not. It doesn't but like we said, we were t I guess we technically weren't on Main Street. We were right That's Main Street. Okay. But we it wasn't crowded where we were. Because we weren't like in the middle of Main Street. Right. Like we were towards more in the square. Yeah. We have to figure out our schedule. Yeah. For what we want to do before we make that decision. But I can see us doing it, you know, somewhere else and it being fine. Cause I really just care. I honestly don't care that much about the fireworks show. I care about the parade and the stage show. Fireworks show still good. It is good. But that was well, I mean, that was like my You like the fireworks show better than the stage show? Okay, well, you gotta think about it. That was my first. That's true. Disney fireworks show. So I have a little bit of just like the Slinky Dog Dash. Yep. That's okay. You can take my kit on Slinky Dog Dash for the first time. How does that sound? But yeah, so everybody else who's like on the Facebook pages are like, if you don't go to Main Street, you it's like fifteen minute waits for all the rides. You know? It's just you get to the k longest character you're gonna meet is Jack and Sally. Good thing we don't wanna meet Jack and Sally if we even want to do any character meet and greets, you know. We'd probably do I do kind of want to go see the villains. Yeah. I think that'd be cool. Yeah, I wanna see didn't we talk about it's Maleficent and the Evil Queen, I think. Yeah. Yeah. So That was that's that's gonna be fun. But if we figure out our parade, you know, all that, we can try to see them on the down times. Right, right. Yeah. I think essentially we we can go from four to like nine doing things. And then by nine we have to make it back up by Main to Main Street and kind of just chill there until everything's done. But that's just in my head right now. I haven't actually looked at everything and really written it out. Yeah, but I will. All right, next piece of news is Disney World is testing AI vacation planning. Yeah, I know. They've they this isn't part of the news but I did see it on That's why we did that. I did see it online is that they announced their first chief of technology. Okay. So I guess that's who's going to be running it. So and this is This so the plan feature includes searching by season or month, describing what you want in natural language, AI-generated resort summaries, resort comparisons, answers based on Disney's own data, and saving planning information to a My Disney Experience account. It's being developed with Google Cloud, which makes sense. Our travel agency, Magical Vacation Planner, has transferred to Google. So they were on like their own server and now we're using Google. So this probably is why now that I read it. do you think they're trying to replace the travel planners? So all it's going to do is book your dates. I still will book like It's not gonna book your dining and your lighting things. Okay. And all that stuff. Which I still do that. So Maybe one day. Yeah. But then like I've always with the people who I've talked to who are newer to Disney, I always like try and help them with their actual days. Right. Too. Yeah. But that's not a very common thing. But if they're developing I guess if somebody I don't know. But they already did that with Genie. They've already tried the AI with the Disney Genie and I don't like it. Yeah, that's true. So But if they've got a full cheap of a person dedicated to that, then there's no telling. There's no telling. You are correct. I mean, I don't make that much money doing it. It's not well it's but it's unfortunate because it does take away Yes. People who do make you know. Yeah. And like that personal touch kind of thing. Yeah. I also think that's why some travel agents are gearing themselves more to Disney cruises because the cruise the cruise space is so specific because of maritime laws that I don't know if that's ever gonna be an AI thing. Because you have to go through so many like just like regulations, right? That don't apply to yeah. Yeah. So it was definitely a different experience when we went yeah on the cruise versus booking. Also something Everybody may want to look into more. And I know we talked about it when y'all went on the cruise and y'all just didn't think it'd be worth it. It's only forty-five dollars to get to take the cruise line bus from a Disney resort. How do we not look into that? We talked about it, and y'all just decided it still wasn't worth it financially. And I remember when we talked about it, we did say like staying at All Star, which honestly, if you're not going to the parks, I don't see a problem staying with All-Star for a night or two. Yeah, that's true. But I don't remember why we ultimately I think maybe because All-Star was still like a hundred dollars more per night. Yeah. And then you're paying. I mean, yes. We paid We prob we paid more in Ubers. Yeah. Getting to and from the port. But yeah, I was it's like it's something you really have to like look at what the price difference is. Like you have to really crunch those numbers. Mm-hmm. That's not just something you can kind of just see now. I mean, now that you know what your Uber's gonna cost. Well, but it changes. That's true. But it's probably always gonna be it was like I wanna say was like 70 bucks. Yeah, it's probably always gonna be close to fifty for how far away it is. So which forty-five no matter what on a bus. Yeah. I think both ways. I'm not sure about that part, but just something I just know we looked at other other transportation things and they were really expensive. Well the we fly you drive is gonna be expensive because it's a private Yeah, but like all that private stuff was yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. The Disney animation is now open at Hollywood Studios and I really wanna go. So Girl, you my gosh. We're gonna wake up Saturday and be like, I'm bored, what do you wanna do? Genesia. no, we don't go to Hollywood Studios without lightning lights. You can't go to Hollywood Studios without lightning. You can. You'll just be waiting in lines. Okay, so this is where the Star Wars launch pad used to be. And it's been closed for like over a year. And Launch wait, what? Yeah. Where they opened the animation courtyard? Launch? It was just like a little meet and greet and something. Did you ever even see that? No. It was already closed when we went in twenty twenty two. No, it wasn't closed. We it might have not have been reopened after COVID. Mm-hmm. But it wasn't closed Well no, wait, I thought that's where the Disney Jr. area was. Yeah. So the Disney Jr. area was like up here. Okay. And then to the back. So we just didn't go any further than the Disney Java area. Yeah. So it's essentially that short. It wasn't a short, the once upon a studio is what inspired this whole area. We got to see part of it. The outside part had all the cute little statues and we did see some characters out, and characters are kind of just like roaming. It it feels more like the Disney I went to when I was a kid. Pre COVID. No, not even pre COVID, but like nineties and two thousands, they had to stop a lot of like free roaming characters. You know, Disneyland has a lot of free roaming characters. They had to stop all that because people would just like form lines in the middle of nowhere to take pictures. Yeah. We saw Rapunzel and she was playing Duck Duck Goose with a bunch of cubes. Yes. Yes. Who else did we see there? We saw Chip and Dale. I think Chip and Dale are there normally. Did you see that reel I sent you? Where this the girl is like, she's like when you play Dreamlight Valley too much and you go to the co the courtyard and she like tap. She was like petting Pua and like I can't remember what else she did. Just the way she was walking was funny. so it's essentially the Waltz, the Walt Disney studio lot. So you're gonna be able to go into that building and like see sketches from original sketches from Like the animators from different movies. There's like a little Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live, which I think was there when we went in June. That was already open. I think you get to see the The 10 minutes short, I'm not sure though. you will interact and explore with new takes on Disney iconic animation at headquarters, including the many different studio departments. So this is where we'll get to see like the ol Olaf draws off the page, drawn to Wonderland and once upon a studio theater. So it kind of just reminds me of the thing in Disney's California Adventure. Mm-hmm. So that's kind of what the vibe it gives. And that's fine. Honestly. I mean, it's all indoors, which is a nice option to have. Right. Right. So, what is the off the page? Meet some of your favorite Disney friends, drawn to life in colorful settings, inspired by the animation process. You learn to draw with Olaf. the one Alice in Wonderland is a play area for kids under five. And then the once upon a theater is the screening of and I'd go watch that. Once upon a studio, I would go watch that. I would I mean it's a perfect little indoor thing. And I can't wait to have a baby so I can take them to this little Alice in Wonderland thing. Characters you get to meet is Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip and Dale, Donald and Daisy, Goofy and Stitch. characters. Yeah. I don't think it's real. Like I don't I don't know. Could be. Because it says Mulan in story, Rapunzel and layout, Chip and Dale in hand drawn animation, Donald and Daisy in computer animation, Goofy in lighting and stitch in effects. Let me go back to this big map. Okay. well, I don't know. Looks they're just like little maybe it is. Real characters. They're in like little rooms. So I don't know. We'll see how busy it gets. Yeah. You know, because when we had to wait for Elsa and Anna, and we didn't even get to see Elsa. It was Anna and it was just Anna and Olaf, right? So we'll see. I'm excited. It's it, that's that's gonna be a fun thing to do. If we just went to Hollywood Studios for that, that would be nice. okay. Speaking of Hollywood Studios, Alien Swirling Saucers is getting like a lily pad and new music. Mm-hmm. So I saw that. That's gonna be interesting. I wonder what the lily pad's gonna be like, is it gonna be interacting with people or I assumed it was. Like I just wasn't sure. did you see Casey's Corner got a new pianist? No, yeah. No. No. They just this lady, I think she's been working, her name's Carol. She's been working at Disney for such a long time. She just, I guess, got a new job. That was a a man that was the It was. There's two men that have been the pianist for the longest time. Okay. But now we have a lady. Casey Corner's newest. Okay. Carol, a 36-year cast member. Wow. Recently took her place behind the piano, bringing decades of musical experience and Disney storytelling to the heart of Main Street. I Feel like I never spend enough time on Main Street because like I don't see the pianists. I never really see like the Dapper Dans. We saw when the park opened, right? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. So she's been playing piano for years. I feel like I'm s like look how low my shoulder is. Look how low that is. That is that does look a little weird. All right. And moving on. I need to go get I'm gonna go to the chiropractor maybe. I don't know. Anyway. Today is September twenty first, so that's when we're recording and Guardians of the Galaxy will be playing September all day. Yeah. Do you remember? 21st night of September. Okay. There's also a Star Lord meet and greet and a special limited time drink. Nick, we're going next year. Sorry. on the just on the 21st. Do you know? my gosh. It's probably even harder to get on that ride today. it's 155 minute wait. my gosh. Yeah. Yeah. So all the new, there's a lot of new offers available that they're putting out for spring of 2027. The Epcot Festivals have been announced. Details for the 2027 Epcot International Festival of the Arts was revealed in September. And they also revealed the details for the flower and garden. I have really only ever been to Flower and Garden. I've never gone to any other. We did festival. When is food and wine? It's Octo or not October. Well when we went in October. Okay. Okay, maybe that those are the two I do then. But I want to do festival parts of the arts. You just love saying that, don't you? That's what they were doing when w me and Nick went. Yeah. In February. Yeah. So it was fine. I I wish I liked Epcot more. I know. That's what I'm saying. I like it. Okay. Like I'm not gonna go a particular time of the year for an Epcot festival. Yeah. I do like have you been to Flower and Garden? Have you been when it's like we went in June, which they let it die. Like that's when they were letting it die. Not like full. It's beautiful. I bet. Yeah. Now that is one like if I it was like I yes. Just the topiaries are just beautiful to look at. I've always thought that I'm not I I will go die on the hill of I'm not gonna wait in a line for a $21 small little serving of food that's like low key, not the best Disney food I can get. So also 2027 after hours are available. And the 26 holiday merch has dropped. I know. Haven't seen popcorn buckets yet. I feel like we lucked out on a good popcorn bucket. Mm-hmm. But all the other stuff like the pajamas, the little plushies, all that stuff's out. So home decor. which is all really cute. And I did you see our our doormat? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. They have Disney Halloween doormats at Lowe's. I was like, this is happening. Ugh it's getting worse and worse. I mean, is it? Okay. Well, I think that's about it for major news. I mean, it's just like there's like a construction continues on all the new stuff. So yeah. That's about it. Okay. Time for some Dreamlight Valley updates. Yeah, we have a lot. I feel and then I feel like they're gonna release something again tomorrow. I don't know, maybe not, because the the update releases Wednesday. But every time like we're like, nothing's going on and they release something major like the day after. No. so then by the time our episode comes out, we're like it's obsolete. I know. Yeah. Okay, so right now we've got the what is the event called? my gosh. It's like I don't think it's a floating no, it's the It's the Pixar emotion thingy, yeah. Yeah, it's the you can get the the goose. What is it? The is that what I'm working towards? Another companion? I love it. Probably. Yes, it is a companion. what is it called? Is it called a silly goose by any chance? Because that'd be cute. No. No. That was a miss there. Doom Light Valley. Okay, Season of Scares is the one that's coming out. Coming this Wednesday, right? Memory mania. Mm-hmm. And you get the I don't know. I'm sorry guys. singing again is that helping but most of these are are like okay like envy rabbit anxiety squirrel enwi raven embarrassment turtle we got all those last year if you played if you did it nostalgic happy barra yes and then you can get the Lance slash blade statue the hockey uniform and the hockey stick but that's all I think the only thing that's new Maybe this This new mysterious critter. I yeah, I'm kinda I've been the same I'm I need to I need to play so I can get my characters leveled up. So when we get our new expansion pack, I'm all good to go. I say this every time though. I have what? A month. Yeah. Right? Wait, what? What? What? No. No. I have a month till the showcase. Right? So keep sexy is November. But we have a month till the showcase because the showcase is happening right before we go. Yes. Disney. Okay, so up two months. Okay. Yeah. I can make it happen. So the thing with the new the update that's coming Wednesday. Mm-hmm. Season of scares. Mm-hmm. Oogie Boogie is coming to the Valley. Ugh. I know. But there's a catch and I kinda like what they're doing. Jack and Sally, I don't want to talk to Jack and Sally. It says weekly my gosh, I can't talk weekly quests, frightful games, and a chance to welcome Zero to your valley. another companion. Mm-hmm. He is cute. But they're saying that when you like you only have until I think like November. Yeah. You have to s you have to start Boogie Boogie's first quest before November 4th. Otherwise he's gone. Can't do it. Mm-hmm. So it's It's kind of a different take on what they've done before. So So you I kinda like that. We can welcome him, but not start his first quest. Or you have to welcome him. You just have to start his first quest before November fourth, otherwise he will leave the valley. So you can have him and then just not start his first quest and then he leaves? No, I think you you just like don't get him in your valley if you don't start that quest. Okay. By then. So like if you didn't play until November fifth, no oogie boogie for you. Which I mean I don't really care. probably. Honestly I I thought they were saying like He's in the valley for a limited time and then he leaves. And I was like, I'm good with that. But I don't know where to put his house anymore. I'm gonna have to just like van banish all the characters I don't like. Their houses to turn in the aisle or something. Okay. I don't mind that. I like I think it'll be fun. That's a different way to try and get a little bit more engagement, you know? Mm-hmm. So You can I think there's gonna be more like Halloween stuff to do. Like you can trick or trade at people's houses. Okay. So they'll have like a Halloween, like a like a jack-o'-lantern at their house. there will be stuff in Scrooge's store to do. As much as I don't like Nightmare Before Christmas, I kinda want the skin for like the castle. I spent the moonstones on the springtime skin. See, I didn't Or the summertime skin. Whichever one was last. And I'm not gonna do it again. I did it for Christmas, I think. And it was like all wintry and stuff, and I liked it. But I don't know. It's they're so expensive. And I can't I can't do new Star Path premium plus anything else really for a while. So What else? What else? I think they're so they're like some of the updates they're working on that we'll release, like we'll be able to move some more stuff to the islands. So like I think even stores and stuff if you wanted to. But okay. Why? Yeah. I don't know. So people can be more creative in their actual valley, I guess? I guess. I don't really know. I don't I don't even like putting my character houses on the islands because if I need them for something, I don't remember which one I put them on. my gosh, tell me about it. I my gosh, looking for vanilla pee, I was like, girl. I need I need like a how bad do I actually want to do this? my gosh. So yeah. what is I didn't finish that one island. A little sad. 'Cause I liked it and I just never went back to it. the one the park we just had. Yeah. Aw man. Yeah. I only needed like the last two. I did all the other ones in one day. It's kind of annoying though. The last one was 'cause you had to get all a bunch of flowers and put them in the planters around the island. That kind of annoyed me, but okay, so then what else? I feel like Chad didn't tell me anything about the patch notes. Hmm. They have to ask him specifically. They're doing I got the name of the Star Path wrong. My bad. It's Haunting Elegance. Okay. The season The Season of Scares is like the update. okay. they're going to have a lot of like costumes now, which I also cannot afford with my moonstones and I'm it's gonna be why can't they sell in Scrooge's store? Well 'Cause they hate us. Did you see the Taylor Swift stuff in the moonstone in the shop? I was so sad. I was so sad. They're gonna have some like once upon a time inspired costumes. Pretty cool, like red. I'll have red. They're giving us Lucifer as a companion. Well not giving that company. I thought we could I thought we had to we could have bought him before. that's true. You're right. I probably will buy him. Well maybe maybe we do get him then. I love a companion. we talked about the skin. You do get a companion when you complete the Star path. I think it's a I think they're bees. What star path? The new one. Okay. You know I can't complete our current one. Why? So one of the vault rewards was the punk haircut. Yeah. And it says I received it, but I don't have it. Okay. Okay. Are you sure? Because I had to look it up what it looked like. I did too. Okay. I wonder if you can mm so I'm one one routine. The vault is saying you have it. Right. It's in my vault rewards. And it says I received it. I would email. Got it. I I'm not. That's not. I've got bigger things in life to worry about. Yeah, I really I'm I know I get I get what they're doing with the moonstones. They just want money. They want everybody to buy the stuff. I'm not gonna buy it. I'm not either, but I'm gonna be real sad about it. I know, right? Taylor Slough stuff made me sad. I almost I almost bought it. Where does Megarok? nowhere other than we already have Hercules and Phil. I feel like we could have done something different for her. I mean I'm not upset we're getting her very grateful. But I feel like theme wise if we could have like, but then theme wise, who do you go under the sea? Who's your villain? I don't know if it's necessarily gonna make sense. Like we none of it necessarily makes sense. But I feel like if we're talking about under the sea But who else is an under the sea villain? I don't know. Got our slot. Mm-hmm. I was looking at the comments to see if I could get people's takes on it. I I bet it's either gonna be Doctor Facilier. The evil queen or queen of hearts. All good guesses. If it's not that it's gonna be someone super obscure, like from the rescuers or something. No, I don't think so. Although I bet some people are like Milo Thatch? Even though some people are like freaking out. It's like if you it's one of those like cult classics almost Atlantis and I love Milo Thatch. He might have been my first animated crush. Saying that about all three of them. They're gonna be fun. It's gonna be a fun The attitude that comes off of Jack Sparrow and Megra, that's a lot of attitude for one DLC. Yeah. I don't know.
