- 0:00Well, did you guys survive the curse of Krampus
- 0:05in every town anywhere in Michigan all month?
- 0:11I somehow managed to escape it. Same here. I
- 0:15think, Ben, you're the only one that got lured
- 0:17into Krampus. I did Krampus briefly, but I survived.
- 0:22I did make an obligatory AI post of Krampus attacking
- 0:28us. I had to. But we are the only, I think, paranormal
- 0:34podcast that all we did to celebrate Krampus
- 0:39was a stupid AI post. And instead of a Christmas
- 0:43special, we're talking about Santa. Yeah. Because
- 0:50he's... Angela says he's real. Welcome to our
- 0:54podcast, where we take deep dives looking at
- 0:56various topics through a paranormal lens. So,
- 1:01you know, my nightly routine of scrolling through
- 1:06TikTok the other night, and there was this post
- 1:11I saw of these girls being like, I know what
- 1:14I saw. I believe in Santa. i know it wasn't my
- 1:18parents i know what i saw and i was looking at
- 1:20the comments sorry that sounds like the intro
- 1:22to a christmas song it does and i'm like what
- 1:28the heck is this lady talking about so i decided
- 1:30to look at the comments and i was like wow there's
- 1:33a bunch of people who actually like genuinely
- 1:35believe in santa that they think it's like an
- 1:40actual spirit or he's a real person or whatever
- 1:43because they're like yeah when i was a kid i
- 1:46heard the sleigh laying on the roof and i heard
- 1:49the the clickety clacks of the reindeer's feet
- 1:52and the bells of the sleigh and i'm like these
- 1:56people are nutso's but like i'm i'm for it actually
- 2:00they may not not might not be nutso's maybe they
- 2:02maybe it is real you never know but that's how
- 2:08this topic came to be And it's perfect because
- 2:11it's Christmas. So Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.
- 2:15And it's not Krampus. It's like we're we don't
- 2:19need to go to Krampus. We can just keep talking
- 2:21about Santa, but through a paranormal lens. Exactly.
- 2:25Merry Chrysler. I say that all the time with
- 2:31Ben around. He has no clue what I'm talking about.
- 2:34No. Have you never seen the vines? As a Jew,
- 2:38I didn't really watch Christmas vines. That's
- 2:41so fair. Yeah. I also never heard Santa Claus
- 2:46come in my house because he never gave me gifts.
- 2:50Yeah. But I have heard of many an egregore in
- 2:56my life. and this is giving egregore vibes is
- 2:59this kind of where you're going with this that
- 3:02so many people believe in santa that it's created
- 3:04some sort of entity that through the belief and
- 3:08it's real i didn't see anyone talking about that
- 3:11but that makes a lot of sense it makes sense
- 3:15i heard literally something on the radio today
- 3:20like chris kringle like came over from Was it,
- 3:26like, Polish tradition? And Kris Kringle means
- 3:31Christ Child and coming of Christ Child and,
- 3:35like, being at Christmas is about the coming
- 3:38of Jesus. I think that's what it is. Kris Kringle
- 3:42is, like, a representation for Santa. Kind of,
- 3:47but what I've been seeing is... It's just a bunch
- 3:53of combinations between, like, a mix of gods,
- 3:57spirits, and saints, and a bunch of different
- 4:00storytellings that all combined it into, like,
- 4:03what is now the modern Santa Claus. Yeah, Christmas
- 4:09and Santa Claus. I mean, I feel like that's most,
- 4:12a lot of major holidays. Yeah. Because, like,
- 4:17I mean, this is getting off the topic of... Santa
- 4:20and just going off like into the topic of holidays
- 4:23with specifically like Christmas and Easter and
- 4:27Halloween. I mean, they were all originally like
- 4:30holidays for in other cultures and religions.
- 4:36And then when Christianity started, like as England
- 4:41spread across the world and Europe spread. across
- 4:46the world and was spreading their religion and
- 4:48all that, they took on the practices of some
- 4:54of the local religions and Christianized them.
- 4:58It just kind of all got intertwined and mixed
- 5:01together. It's a hodgepodge of different cultures
- 5:06to create this one unified holiday that comes
- 5:11from many different things like the yule log
- 5:15and the christmas tree and saint nicholas and
- 5:17all these things are all different things in
- 5:20different cultures but have been taken and combined
- 5:24yeah like like um when europe became and was
- 5:31settling in america the dutch settlers um they
- 5:35would call santa claus and i don't know if i'm
- 5:38gonna be saying this right knowing you probably
- 5:41not Sinterloss? Sinterloss? Perklaws? Something
- 5:50like that. I'm totally butchering this name.
- 5:52I'm totally butchering this name. I'm sure if
- 5:55we saw it, if we saw it on the screen, we'd be
- 5:58like, oh, that thing. Yeah. But no, no, that
- 6:01was the name that the Dutch brung over to America.
- 6:07I mean, like, if you guys know what this... how
- 6:11to properly pronounce this name. Ignore how I'm
- 6:15saying it. Okay. Go ahead. Throwback to the exorcism
- 6:20episode. If Angela starts speaking fluent Dutch
- 6:23on the next podcast, we know she's possessed.
- 6:27Would that mean I'm possessed by Sinterklaas?
- 6:31She'd be possessed by the Christmas spirit. Yes.
- 6:35Okay. Krampus. No. Okay, okay. Reeling it in.
- 6:43Honestly, from what you've said so far, I think
- 6:48in my head, like, you have to, like, separate,
- 6:50like, Santa, like, coming down the chimney Santa,
- 6:54and, like, eating cookies Santa, like, the big
- 6:58guy. But, like, if you take that out of it, right?
- 7:03What's the difference between believing in Santa,
- 7:05like, the idea, and, like, a god? just as an
- 7:10example like if it started isn't someone you
- 7:13someone that people worship true but it started
- 7:17off yeah sorry go ahead oh no no you're good
- 7:23you're sorry i get i'm getting excited because
- 7:25i thought this was very interesting in the north
- 7:27world there was the spirit or god named odin
- 7:31which was a pagan god and He was, it was during,
- 7:36like, the Yule, which was the winter solstice
- 7:40festival. That's when he was pretty much more
- 7:44known for, like, I mean, that's, like, that's,
- 7:49like, a god to some people. Yeah. I mean, like,
- 7:52in Santa Claus, like, Odin had a big impact in
- 7:59what made the modern Santa Claus. Like, for example,
- 8:02he would also, like. Like the reindeers and the
- 8:06sleigh and stuff. Instead of the reindeers, he
- 8:09ride in an eight -legged horse. Which was one
- 8:14of Loki's children. And yeah, so yeah, I mean.
- 8:22Yeah. So the Bible or whatever, they took the
- 8:28eight -legged horse child and turned it into
- 8:30a reindeer. This isn't in the Bible. What? Sorry.
- 8:35Also, Santa's not in the Bible. Oh. So that only
- 8:39proves the point. Listen, I know shit about Santa.
- 8:42This is all just like, you guys are educating
- 8:44me. You also know shit about the Bible, it sounds
- 8:46like, too, which makes sense because you're not
- 8:48even Christian. Sounds like it. You guys are
- 8:51the edumacators this episode. But what's interesting,
- 8:54I know this is also very off -topic compared
- 8:57to what we're talking about, but when you say,
- 8:59like, the eight -legged horse that Odin rode,
- 9:02the, it's, theorize that it's not actually like
- 9:06eight -legged it was just depicted that way to
- 9:10show movement yeah so anyways just had to say
- 9:15that because i love that fact um people don't
- 9:18know that though yeah but anyways it's it's interesting
- 9:22because like it if the possibility that santa
- 9:27claus or like some of his depictions could have
- 9:32come from other cultures and he's saying like
- 9:35could have been based off of like gods in some
- 9:38sort and i'm like well nobody prays to santa
- 9:40or like worship santa but then you do encourage
- 9:45children to write wish lists to him yeah oh yeah
- 9:49that's what i was thinking the whole time it's
- 9:51like And you do leave cookies and milk for him.
- 10:00That's another thing that people did for Odin.
- 10:03The children would leave a lot of food and gifts
- 10:07for blessings from him and stuff like that. I
- 10:14feel like the others would be giving to the brave
- 10:18and generous. but would punish the bad. And that's
- 10:22just kind of like where also the naughty and
- 10:24nice came from too. Yeah. Another interesting
- 10:28thing is like, I think Odin, one of like the
- 10:32things that he was known for was like being all
- 10:36seeing. And so is Santa. Like he can, he sees
- 10:43you when you're sleeping. He knows when you're
- 10:45awake. Not all the eyes. Okay, I know like heaven
- 10:50and hell sometimes got like hung over your heads.
- 10:52Did Santa ever get hung over your heads? Yes,
- 10:55absolutely. It was like, hey, don't do that.
- 10:58Santa is watching you. Oh, 100%. Yeah. Bree,
- 11:04did you believe in Santa? Yeah, of course I did.
- 11:07My household tradition was to leave cookies and
- 11:14Coke and Oh, I got things to say about Coca -Cola,
- 11:19too. And carrots for the reindeer. And then we'd
- 11:24also make magic reindeer food, which was literally,
- 11:30I think, oatmeal and glitter. And we'd sprinkle
- 11:36it outside at night for the reindeer to eat,
- 11:39to gain their magic, to continue flying. Yeah,
- 11:44I think there was one year. We used to have a
- 11:47fireplace in our house. My parents actually took
- 11:51like one of my dad's big boots and like sprinkled
- 11:56powdered sugar around it or flour. So it looked
- 11:59like boot prints out of the fireplace. Oh, that
- 12:03reminds me. There's the for the fireplace and
- 12:07Santa coming down the fireplace that the legend
- 12:11of Hertha. which was a goddess who would appear
- 12:15in fireplaces to bring good luck to people um
- 12:18to people's houses because of the bad spirits
- 12:21who'd come down the chimney during the winter
- 12:24time frame and so as another thing two homeowners
- 12:28um back then would leave treats to like satisfy
- 12:32this god to protect the bad spirits from coming
- 12:35down but oh interesting it kind of just shows
- 12:39that all these little things combined to make
- 12:43into modern santa yeah oh the thing about saying
- 12:47how santa would come down the chimney some people
- 12:50say that santa is actually the devil too um what
- 12:54yeah did you ever hear of this i haven't i haven't
- 12:58heard of it but i can understand where some people
- 13:00may say that but i want to hear what you have
- 13:03to say before so i mean i don't know if i i mean
- 13:06it makes sense what people are saying but so
- 13:08it's like first of all you can't Spell Santa
- 13:13without Satan. My phone autocorrects Satan. When
- 13:19I type in Santa, it does Satan. Yeah. Autocorrect.
- 13:27Santa is actually just the devil in disguise.
- 13:30Like an anagram? Yes, they say that Santa is
- 13:34just an anagram of Satan. Yeah. Is it because,
- 13:39like, Santa and the idea of, like, he's almost,
- 13:45like, an idol of greed or, like, one? something
- 13:52like that the name nick or nicholas which is
- 13:57um saint nicholas but people believe believe
- 14:00so my mom literally just passed me a note um
- 14:03she's like i she was she was trying to tell me
- 14:06saint nicholas was an actual priest yes and he
- 14:10would leave coins on windowsills yeah yeah um
- 14:14and front doors at night you know the funny thing
- 14:18too is when I was researching him some people
- 14:21don't believe he was an actual person yes well
- 14:25that's the thing with saints is they are actual
- 14:28people yeah like Saint Teresa was an actual person
- 14:34that's like one of the most recent ordained saints
- 14:37in our time like they're actual people that the
- 14:41church recognized as being saints like messengers
- 14:45speakers for god um yeah and so saint nicholas
- 14:50is pretty like an actual recognized priest yeah
- 14:55that's that's what i believe too but i was just
- 14:58like when i was um kind of looking into his name
- 15:01a little bit more some people don't believe him
- 15:03because i think they get so i got something mixed
- 15:05up from like the 1960s and 1970s or something
- 15:07that kind of just they thought it was him them
- 15:10like confessing that it was like a fabrication
- 15:14but it was really just saying like he's not as
- 15:17important anymore or something like that i don't
- 15:19know i don't know exactly i don't can we can
- 15:22we just go back we were talking about a saint
- 15:25now and you guys you just dropped that santa
- 15:29is an anagram for satan and then just moved on
- 15:32in like two seconds but i'm still gonna talk
- 15:35about the name nick and nicholas though really
- 15:37quick okay well yes but then we're going back
- 15:39to this devil in disguise stuff okay But from
- 15:43the German and Scandinavian, the word or name
- 15:49or whatever, Nick or Nicholas, means dangerous,
- 15:52supernatural, supernatural creatures, goblins,
- 15:56mischievous. Okay, that's where you're going
- 15:59with it. And for the English and Northern European
- 16:02languages and folklores, people use the name
- 16:06Old Nick to use to call the devil. Oh, I had
- 16:13never heard that before. Yeah. I mean, in, in
- 16:17like, it would kind of make sense, like even
- 16:21without those explanations for some people to
- 16:25think of Santa as more of like a not so good,
- 16:32closer to Satan being. Because he is kind of
- 16:40representation of the trickster greed and temptation,
- 16:44like the things you want, but don't necessarily
- 16:46need. I don't know. Yeah. Kind of takes away
- 16:52the true meaning of Christmas, which is not the
- 16:56giving. It's not the receiving. It's the giving.
- 17:00It's not even really about Santa. No, it's not
- 17:03even really about Santa. It's not actually. It's
- 17:06not really. It's not actually about Santa. No.
- 17:10I mean, Santa really is something that was really.
- 17:19Oh my god, where did my brain go? Every episode
- 17:23starts with... It's gone! I'm watching it float
- 17:27across the ceiling. Every episode, okay? There's
- 17:33a trend here that we're going to leave in 2025.
- 17:36Angela, within the first minute, asks, what's
- 17:39the topic? So, anyone wanting to plan for New
- 17:42Year's? If you start any episode of our show
- 17:45at 11 .59 p .m., Angela will ask what's the topic
- 17:50right before the ball drops. That's guaranteed
- 17:53any episode. What's the topic? Woo! Happy New
- 17:56Year! Okay. Every episode. But then Angela knows
- 18:00what's going on within like five minutes. Then...
- 18:02You look so mad about this right now, Angela.
- 18:05I have a timer. Around the 20 -minute mark of
- 18:08every episode, Brianna makes some sort of comment
- 18:11about her brain. Sometimes, sometimes it's that
- 18:14he has a good brain and the brain is treating
- 18:17her well. Sometimes it's where did my brain go?
- 18:19Oh my God, I lost a brain cell. Some sort of
- 18:22brain comment is always around. It's usually
- 18:24that I've lost my mind. I have no idea what's
- 18:26going on anymore. I don't even remember what
- 18:29I was talking about and the fact that, okay.
- 18:31Is there like a hive mind between the two of
- 18:34you where like you guys, one of you has to like
- 18:38not know what the topic is and the other has
- 18:40to like. We share a brain cell and it just bounces
- 18:44back and forth. We do say stuff in sync together
- 18:48a lot. It creeps me out. For everyone listening,
- 18:53the two of them, Angela and Bree, they're like
- 18:56the shining fucking sisters. I feel bad swearing
- 19:00in the Christmas episode. Whatever. Fuck. The
- 19:03two of them say shit in unison all the time and
- 19:06it creeps me out. are our like signs the same
- 19:14or something uh no no no i don't think so we're
- 19:18very close like i think you're you're like right
- 19:22at the tail like tail end of being a virgo but
- 19:27you're not you're a libra i didn't know if something
- 19:30like that would influence us being oh no probably
- 19:33not no we're just on the same wavelength my guy
- 19:39Yeah, I think we are, honestly. So, I don't remember
- 19:45what I was talking about before my brain up and
- 19:48left. I think it was something about doubles
- 19:51and stuff and about what Christmas really is,
- 19:57but it's not anything to do with Santa. Oh, yeah,
- 19:59yeah, yeah. It's, um, because I was going to
- 20:02say that Santa kind of like valentine's day is
- 20:09something that's been more capitalized on within
- 20:14like society and big box offices to sell things
- 20:21for christmas i don't know that's all i was going
- 20:25with that oh like like santa is to like capitalize
- 20:30yeah and stuff into or yeah like it was this
- 20:34idea that like we've said has been a conglomeration
- 20:37of a whole bunch of different cultures religions
- 20:40uh different gods practices people saints that
- 20:46has become just this one big conglomerate that
- 20:50the society and um marketing decided was hey
- 20:57we can make money off of this yeah that's what
- 21:00coca -cola did yes so like yeah it did coca -cola
- 21:05when was this early 1900s when was coca -cola
- 21:08thing anyway i don't know one fact about coca
- 21:12-cola you all is that coca -cola was seen as
- 21:16a summer thing and not a winter like drink so
- 21:19like sales were really down for coca -cola so
- 21:21they're like what can we do to get people to
- 21:24buy some more of our coke During the winter.
- 21:27And they were like, oh, I know. Let's relate
- 21:31it to Christmas. And that's when Santa got the
- 21:34look of, you know... Drinking the glass Coke
- 21:37bottle. And wearing the red and white beard type
- 21:42of look. Which wasn't really a thing before Coca
- 21:46-Cola took it over. I didn't realize the red
- 21:48and white look. Huh? I said, I mean... santa
- 21:53didn't really have that look i mean he kind of
- 21:55did but didn't i think i think coca -cola is
- 21:57what really took them over to over the edge of
- 22:01yeah because i feel like traditionally like more
- 22:05like more traditionally people put uh santa like
- 22:10santa and more of like scandinavian yeah clothing
- 22:14um but yeah i don't know where the red and white
- 22:19theme came from but it would make sense if that
- 22:21was I think that's what it was. I think it's
- 22:24Coca -Cola is what gave him the Santa the red
- 22:28and white outfit, you know. And that's kind of
- 22:31what spread around the world to be the normal
- 22:35look of Santa now. I did look it up. It was 1930s.
- 22:39Okay. I don't think either any of us can speak
- 22:43to. Really how Santa was viewed before then,
- 22:46because I don't think any of us were celebrating
- 22:48Christmas in the 20s. Did we get any grandparents
- 22:50who lived before that time? Oh, what? No, my
- 22:57grandma was born in, like, 1936. Maybe she would
- 23:02know. That was post -Coke. That was post -Coke.
- 23:07That was post -Coke. That's 1930s, though. Like,
- 23:11maybe she had... That's still up in the Coke
- 23:14era. True. But when was it that Coca -Cola introduced
- 23:19the Santa Claus marketing for Coca -Cola? I guess
- 23:27these are very specific questions that we'd have
- 23:29to ask a marketing expert on. Or Google. No.
- 23:36Yeah. Anyways. Anyways. I don't know. Any other
- 23:41thoughts about Santa? I got a question. Just
- 23:46like a fun little question. What made you, Bree,
- 23:50to realize Santa wasn't real? What was your childhood
- 23:53moment where you were like, oh, he's not real?
- 23:56You know, I was getting older and like... there's
- 24:00at a point when every kid is like i feel like
- 24:04i'm too old to believe in santa anymore but what
- 24:07really sold me was like we were opening our stockings
- 24:10and um you know it was like all of us it was
- 24:16like me and my siblings and my grandparents were
- 24:18down at our house and we were all open our stockings
- 24:20because we we saved the stockings till the last
- 24:23part of the day when everyone's there and um
- 24:27We got done opening our stockings, and my grandpa
- 24:30was looking at some of the stuff that my brother
- 24:32had gotten his, and he picked up something. He's
- 24:35like, oh, where did you get this? Talking to
- 24:38my mom, asking her where she got this stuff from
- 24:41my brother's stocking. And then I'm like, yeah.
- 24:46And everyone's like, shush, shush, shush. And
- 24:48I'm like... You were like, you know, I already
- 24:51knew. It's all good. Yeah, yeah. But, you know,
- 24:55like, me and my brother would always, like, try
- 24:57to stay up late, and it would never work. And
- 25:00I remember there was one night my brother and
- 25:04I tried to stay up late, and of course we couldn't.
- 25:06And he had stayed up so late, and he had, like,
- 25:11been watching the fireplace because he could
- 25:13see the fireplace from his bedroom kind of thing.
- 25:18He fell asleep and he's like, I swear I only
- 25:20fell asleep for like three minutes. And then
- 25:21when I woke back up, there were presents everywhere
- 25:24and the stockings were filled. And I'm like,
- 25:26wow, that's so magical. So it's really crazy
- 25:31what my parents did growing up to make Christmas
- 25:38morning feel so magical sometimes. Because, yeah,
- 25:41there'd be gifts and stuff under the tree, but
- 25:43the stockings would be empty. and we'd wake up
- 25:47and everything would just be a million times
- 25:50more than what it was and yeah i felt so bad
- 25:55for my now i feel so bad from my parents because
- 25:58they probably would stay up until six seven 8
- 26:02a .m. and then we'd wake up and be like, oh my
- 26:05gosh, Santa came. They're too tired for this.
- 26:08Oh my gosh. Just five more minutes. Yeah, but
- 26:13what about you, Angela? I feel like you stopped
- 26:16believing, I think, last year I was there with
- 26:18you. I ruined it for you. I think. So, I mean,
- 26:25I kind of just casually learned like, oh, you
- 26:28know, got older. didn't believe in santa but
- 26:32there was one time i noticed that every time
- 26:39santa left his presence under the tree compared
- 26:42to my parents presence always had a different
- 26:45handwriting on the nose so who it's like for
- 26:48who the present belongs to and I realized I eventually
- 26:52made a connection that it was just my dad's handwriting
- 26:55and not my mom's handwriting and I was like this
- 26:58is suspicious and I don't like this so that's
- 27:01really what made me like uh oh And I found her
- 27:06secret stash of Santa Claus, of their, like,
- 27:08Santa's wrapping paper. Because there was the
- 27:11normal bin of what my parents would use. And
- 27:14there was always the wrapping paper that only
- 27:16Santa used. Yep, that you cannot, I could not
- 27:18find anywhere. But then I found it one time.
- 27:20And, yep. That's my story. We also, like, um,
- 27:28Christmas paper. like color code everyone's gifts
- 27:34like oh okay these ones are all for dustin or
- 27:37these are all for brianna or these are all for
- 27:39mom um more recently it's been like i bought
- 27:44this roll of wrapping paper i'm wrapping everyone's
- 27:47gifts in these ours ours is always just totally
- 27:53random like i think my mom switches every present
- 27:56that or whatever Or type of gift to a different
- 28:00type of wrapping paper. And I just, I don't know.
- 28:03It looked very chaotic under the tree. But I
- 28:05always liked it. Yeah, that sounds like fun.
- 28:07I just find this whole Santa thing very interesting.
- 28:11Because I still don't quite understand. Because
- 28:15Christmas is about. dang i can't talk is about
- 28:23jesus being boring yeah you guys you guys notice
- 28:27both of your brain farts this episode have been
- 28:29explaining what christmas is really about so
- 28:33how about i cue you in okay this as the person
- 28:38who doesn't celebrate yeah as as a person doesn't
- 28:42celebrate let me tell you christmas is truly
- 28:44about wait i kind of i lost it christ I lost
- 28:52it. Hold on. It's coming back. I thought you
- 28:55were saying Jesus Christ as, like, Jesus Christ
- 28:59Ben is making another joke. Oh, no. That I'm
- 29:03Jesus Christ? I'm actually, like, talking about,
- 29:06like, Jesus, you know? The one and only Jesus.
- 29:11But I just, like, I still find it very interesting
- 29:15because, like, if this is what it's really about...
- 29:18I just find it mind -blowing how all these, like,
- 29:21pagan and other type of, like, Odin and that
- 29:27type of thing came crawling into Christmas and
- 29:31how it's celebrated combined with... So here's
- 29:35the thing. Jesus wasn't actually born in December.
- 29:41No, yeah, I think he was, like... It was more
- 29:44summertime. Yeah. And... But in the Catholic
- 29:49calendar, it was kind of like too close to Easter,
- 29:53which is when Christ died on the cross. So to
- 29:59like separate it out, they put one at the beginning
- 30:01of the year, like at the different solstices.
- 30:05And when converting other people from their religions
- 30:10like paganism, which was viewed as demonic, to
- 30:14Christianity, it made more sense to take their
- 30:18holidays, the winter solstice, or Yule, or any
- 30:23of these other traditions that were going on
- 30:26in December, and saying, actually, hey, this
- 30:29happened. Jesus was born on this day. we should
- 30:33be celebrating jesus on this day and not this
- 30:37paganistic tradition but hey we'll take some
- 30:41of your traditions and add them in so it isn't
- 30:44confused about why would they do that if they
- 30:46view the paganism and stuff is evil and demonic
- 30:49and then like why would they i don't know i don't
- 30:53know it just doesn't make sense anyways i do
- 30:55have a question for you guys so this Something
- 31:01that's interesting to me is like I'm going to
- 31:02use the word spirit here, but like Santa and
- 31:05speaking Odin, you know, these other gods and
- 31:09more metaphysical sense like Santa is a being
- 31:12right as opposed to like a guy that comes on
- 31:15the chimney and gives you gifts. If Santa remained
- 31:19more metaphysical in the sense like he is a spirit,
- 31:22the spirit of Christmas as opposed to like a
- 31:24dude that comes in your house and gives you presents.
- 31:30Would you still believe in Santa, the spirit?
- 31:37Is it a physical... It's interesting to me that
- 31:43it changed so drastically from a metaphysical
- 31:46thing to this goofy Coca -Cola. Well, that's
- 31:50the thing. Santa himself is not... I don't know.
- 31:59He's not, like, celebrated as, like, a Christian
- 32:05deity. No. Right, that's why I used the word
- 32:08spirit. If it was more of a spiritual, like,
- 32:10a spirit. Like, the spirit of Christmas. Is there
- 32:13a spirit of Christmas? Do you guys feel and believe
- 32:16a spirit of Christmas? Wouldn't that just be
- 32:19Jesus? Sure. Call it Jesus. Or just the joy of
- 32:23the season. Call it the joy of the season embodying
- 32:26itself as what we call Santa. I don't know. Maybe.
- 32:29I don't know. Where are you getting at this?
- 32:32Are you saying we're going to come in about the
- 32:35whole Egregore type of thing? No. No, I don't.
- 32:40We can go that direction. I don't think it's
- 32:43necessary at this point. I mean, people know
- 32:45what Egregores are. We know what Egregores are.
- 32:47I'm just thinking like. it's interesting if santa
- 32:50remained a more metaphysical type of spiritual
- 32:52thing i don't know it might i mean it it is possible
- 32:56because like if you think about it like um i
- 32:59mean even getting on the technical side like
- 33:02supposedly santa visits every single child's
- 33:06house in one night which is physically impossible
- 33:10unless you are some sort of spiritual being.
- 33:14I was gonna say it's not impossible if you're
- 33:17some sort of unworldly thing, you know what I
- 33:21mean? So, if it is an entity, do you... I mean,
- 33:26do you guys believe in Santa, the entity? No.
- 33:32Okay, if you believe in, like, other gods, maybe
- 33:36like Odin or whatever, You could say you believe
- 33:41in Santa. Okay, do you know what my next question
- 33:44is going to be? What? If you can summon Odin,
- 33:47can you summon Santa? You know, that's what I
- 33:50was thinking. That's what I was thinking. But
- 33:53don't try to do that because you're going to
- 33:55misspell it and it's going to... gonna end up
- 33:57being satan and then it's it's just yeah you're
- 34:00gonna type you're gonna type it out on your phone
- 34:02you're gonna type it out on your phone the ritual
- 34:05to summon santa and it's gonna autocorrect and
- 34:08you just start reading and you're like i summon
- 34:12in the vehicles of everyone who's who's listening
- 34:14to this podcast while driving to work on christmas
