  Speaker 1: Well, that's good.
• 1:41
Speaker 4: Well, it's only a temporary thing it's going to get clear soon.
• 1:44
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what it is.
• 1:46
Speaker 1: But you know, I said earlier on the show, I said this is a great day to go to a car show.
• 1:50
Speaker 1: It's indoors, I mean, you get to immerse yourself in the Corvette Chevy Expo.
• 1:56
Speaker 1: And I have to tell you, as a Corvette owner myself, I have a 2001.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: By the way, I just bought a set of wheels just like that.
• 2:04
  Speaker 4: Very nice.
• 2:05
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, very nice.
• 2:07
  Speaker 1: Points for me.
• 2:08
Speaker 1: Very good, catch yourself.
• 2:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, but it's nice to see other Chevrolet models here.
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: Beautiful 57 here.
• 2:16
Speaker 1: This is a C1 across from us here, all makes, all models, and you got C1, c5 and a C8 right there, all in a row.
• 2:25
Speaker 5: There you go yeah.
• 2:26

• 2:30
Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
• 2:31
Speaker 4: Glad to have you guys here.
• 2:32
Speaker 4: It's a lot of excitement in the event here.
• 2:34
Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you to Meekum Auctions for helping sponsor to bring you guys here.
• 2:39
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 2:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, we worked with them for several years now and it's they're great partners to have in promoting the enthusiast market.
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they're.
• 2:49
Speaker 4: I mean what a fabulous event they put on.
• 2:52
Speaker 4: You know I'm always at Kissimmee every year.
• 2:53
Speaker 4: I've been to Houston, dallas, several of the auctions across the country.
• 2:57
  Speaker 4: It's amazing.
• 2:59
Speaker 1: You went to Florida, aren't you?
• 3:00
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I live in Florida Orlando area.
• 3:02
Speaker 1: Yep, Because I remember subscribing and I thought huh, they're in Florida.
• 3:08
Speaker 4: Well, it's originally started in Georgia.
• 3:09
Speaker 4: Is that where it was?
• 3:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, all I remember is is that I sent checks to Florida and Georgia to get my membership, to get the magazine, and I assume that the magazine's doing pretty well, yeah, yeah, that one.
• 3:24
Speaker 4: actually right here it's features the 55 Corvette out here, kevin Brady's 1955 Harvest Gold Corvette, which is right displayed out in our lobby next to a 53 Corvette all original, beautiful cars you know I heard some discouraging news here recently about Corvettes.
• 3:44
Speaker 1: Kind of disappointed me that.
• 3:45
Speaker 1: You know, the Corvette enthusiasts have all turned gray.
• 3:49
Speaker 1: Well, hello, I'm here, we're all.
• 3:53
  Speaker 1: We're all here.
• 3:54
Speaker 4: But you know the.
• 3:55
Speaker 4: You know I have news for you.
• 3:56
Speaker 4: I'm turning gray, so it works.
• 3:58
Speaker 4: It does work, yes.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Yes, you're the tweener.
• 4:00
Speaker 4: Yes, we talk about.
• 4:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't care, I still like my car it's.
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: It's a 2001 and I bought it was 16,000 miles on it, now it's 33.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: And we're going to go on the hot rod tour of Texas and I've been working on it, slowly but surely, you know, to get this right and get this, and had some dash cam put in it this past week and he drives it.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I did drive it.
• 4:27
Speaker 4: It's a lot more fun that way, I find it.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly because I took that 77 off the street and spent a wad of money, all of my money with the custom paint job, a new interior, all everything.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: I mean you know the mirrors underneath it because I got it.
• 4:46
Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, even had it pin striped underneath the car.
• 4:49
  Speaker 4: Oh boy Nice.
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 4:50
Speaker 5: Every couple of weeks.
• 4:52
  Speaker 2: He's okay though.
• 4:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, I had to learn the hard way.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: Not so much for me.
• 4:57
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: I like enjoying driving the car, and then that's he's got wheels very similar to that.
• 5:02
Speaker 5: In fact, those are the wheels to retire.
• 5:04
Speaker 5: He's got some Michelin's on it.
• 5:05
Speaker 5: He's got the short shift her shifter in it.
• 5:07
Speaker 5: He's got the camera you put the new lights in it.
• 5:11
Speaker 5: New seats, new lights.
• 5:13
Speaker 1: And I see a lot of those sport seats that are in the car.
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: That's the C5s and I'm going.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: If you had as much trouble as I had, you wouldn't have those seats.
• 5:24
Speaker 1: I went with a battery drain for two years, oh really, and couldn't find it.
• 5:29
Speaker 1: I had to finally get a friend a hired friend to use his mechanic.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: It took him a week to go through each circuit.
• 5:37
Speaker 4: Yeah, those electrical gremlins are tough to track down.
• 5:40
Speaker 1: And it was the driver's sport seat Okay.
• 5:43
Speaker 1: Who would have guessed?
• 5:45
Speaker 3: But they got it fixed and then I said that's it.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: That's it, it's out, and so I bought me some Corbos and I love them Okay.
• 5:52
Speaker 5: Well, we had to take the seats out in order to do the shifter.
• 5:55
Speaker 1: Well, no, we took the seats out.
• 5:56
Speaker 1: If you remember, you try to correct the rocking thing.
• 6:01
Speaker 2: We did something in your dash too.
• 6:03
Speaker 2: They had their hands on it.
• 6:04
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: Has an electrical issue.
• 6:06
Speaker 2: We also put a relay in your dash.
• 6:08
Speaker 1: It had the electrical issue before we took the seats out to fix the rocking that's what I would say Now, if you really want to get down to it.
• 6:15
Speaker 1: What car do you have?
• 6:16
Speaker 1: My me, I have that white truck.
• 6:19
Speaker 1: You have no room to talk.
• 6:20
Speaker 1: Is what we're saying?
• 6:21
Speaker 1: You're right, no room to talk.
• 6:23
Speaker 2: When that, when we don't need that truck anymore, I'll get me one.
• 6:26
Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I'll say you, mine and I got a really nice set of sports seats that are for sale today.
• 6:32
Speaker 5: What did we do to the dash?
• 6:33
Speaker 1: Now we can start there and you could get the car to fit it later.
• 6:36
Speaker 5: Yeah, what did we do in the dash?
• 6:38
Speaker 5: We had to take your dash apart for so long.
• 6:39
Speaker 1: Oh, that was the flashers, the emergency flashers, that's right.
• 6:43
Speaker 5: That switch went out and you know we did all this and we didn't have any extra parts.
• 6:48
Speaker 2: Oh, that's always good that time, that time, I always have it.
• 6:52
Speaker 2: He kicked him under the cars, but he did.
• 6:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, under the other car, the driver car.
• 6:56
Speaker 1: Yeah Well, this is really a nice intimate little show here.
• 7:00
Speaker 1: And I just discovered by talking to the girl that's working the back door back there and she says oh well, you know there's upstairs.
• 7:08
  Speaker 1: I said upstairs, what's upstairs?
• 7:10
Speaker 1: Oh, we got all the vendors up there.
• 7:12
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the really, really neat thing about our event.
• 7:14
Speaker 4: It's all indoor, you know if you're coming down here and it's a little raining, which you know, I'm sure it's going to clear up here soon.
• 7:21
Speaker 4: But parking underneath the building, free parking, come up in an elevator, all indoor, all air conditioned, climate controlled.
• 7:28
Speaker 4: So, the first floor, the ballroom floor, we have the main hall with our main vendors, lots of show cars, and then out in the lobby we have some of our kind of our more premium show cars on display.
• 7:41
Speaker 4: It's a carpeted, beautiful ballroom or lobby area.
• 7:45
Speaker 4: And then on the third floor, the expo floor, we have a craft, handmade crafts, things like that Actually have live music by the lineup today and tomorrow at one and three.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: So they're gonna ask you know Jeff's a drummer, and so they're gonna you might be able to jump in.
• 8:03
Speaker 4: Yeah, I probably will, yeah, yeah, give it a shot.
• 8:06
  Speaker 2: They're drummers.
• 8:07
Speaker 2: I would say, they're drummer sings.
• 8:09
Speaker 2: I'm just warning you.
• 8:10
  Speaker 5: You're singing, jeff.
• 8:11
Speaker 5: Well, if you could join me in the shower, yeah, yeah, I'll pick up past.
• 8:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll stay outside and guard the door.
• 8:19
Speaker 4: You just go, so you know it's a great event for the whole family, so there's something for everybody.
• 8:25
Speaker 4: So that's really neat.
• 8:26
Speaker 2: It's good and you make the weekend down in Galveston If you, if you spend just a day talking about well then, you've got another day that you can spend here in Galveston Ring break.
• 8:34
Speaker 5: Some of these vehicles are for sale too, yes, so if you're looking for something.
• 8:38
Speaker 5: You're looking for a Corvette or Chevy.
• 8:40
Speaker 5: There's Cadillac next door.
• 8:42
  Speaker 5: Come on down.
• 8:42
Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you to our sponsor, classic auto group.
• 8:46
Speaker 4: They brought a couple of great cars.
• 8:47
Speaker 4: We have a Cadillac Lyric, lyric, lyric, lyric which I haven't seen one before, and then also a Chevy, I've seen him in a while.
• 8:56
  Speaker 5: Okay, yeah.
• 8:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got those, and then he's got a couple from this whole auto group.
• 8:59
Speaker 4: We kind of brought something.
• 9:00
  Speaker 4: He's got a Honda here.
• 9:01
Speaker 4: He's got, you know, to show off what all you know you can get with that and keep with that group you know it's a.
• 9:06
Speaker 4: It's a great company, you know if you ever worked with them.
• 9:10
Speaker 5: Good deal Well well, sales lead.
• 9:13
Speaker 5: Yeah, oh, I've already got the wheels turning.
• 9:19
  Speaker 5: I just thought.
• 9:20
Speaker 2: I'd throw that out there.
• 9:21
Speaker 1: I was waiting for some sort of reaction.
• 9:24
Speaker 5: The wheels have been turning.
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
• 9:26
Speaker 1: Well, I will tell you this One of the things that when we first got here, of course it was nice and quiet and there was nobody here and I got a chance to peek around some of the cars here, and there's a car, a C5, over here that's got a battery cover.
• 9:41
Speaker 2: I thought oh, I like that.
• 9:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I will tell you and I've said this before that's one of the things about going to a car show stealing other people's ideas.
• 9:51
Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just expanding the thought.
• 9:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, well, last night when we were setting up, the couple over here on the side they've got a beautiful C5 Corvette.
• 10:01
Speaker 4: It's got the gold wing doors.
• 10:02
Speaker 4: One of the other guys, he's got a C8.
• 10:05
Speaker 4: It's like coming over trying to find out who installed them, who did them, because they work right and you want to know, you know.
• 10:10
Speaker 4: So it's yeah, it's a lot of friends are made here, lifelong friends, absolutely.
• 10:14
Speaker 1: And I still have some from the very first Corvette show that I went to.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, we were told you weren't here at the time.
• 10:21
Speaker 1: I was admitting that I went to the Corvette Expo, one at the Albert Thomas Convention.
• 10:28
Speaker 3: Center yeah Don Cooper, yeah Don Cooper.
• 10:30
Speaker 1: Upstairs and it was one elevator that the car fit in, so all of the cars that were on display had to go through that one elevator because there was no ramp up there.
• 10:41
Speaker 4: I thought I had it bad pushing the cars through this doorway.
• 10:43
Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no One elevator.
• 10:46
Speaker 1: Wow, and try to get in there on a I guess it was a Thursday night or something Trying to get the cars in there.
• 10:51
Speaker 1: You can imagine here they are all lined up around the Albert Thomas Convention Center waiting for that one elevator.
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: That was slow.
• 11:00
Speaker 1: Creaky, but as pulling the chain Well, almost.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: But great memories and I made some great lifelong friends at that first Expo down here.
• 11:11
Speaker 1: And Bill Sikes yeah, bill Sikes, bill Insurance Sites in particular, and other friends as well.
• 11:17
Speaker 1: Craig Beerman, speed and Sport Chrome Plating.
• 11:20
Speaker 1: He had a car on display, a Corvette custom, full custom.
• 11:26
Speaker 1: So for the general public at this part they divided up that convention center, thought that it was the way to go, I guess, when they built it.
• 11:34
Speaker 1: So this particular part of the convention center was upstairs, the whole show was upstairs, so the public had to come in from the downstairs and go up an escalator and you get to the top of the escalator.
• 11:46
Speaker 1: And whose car was right there, at the top of the?
• 11:48
Speaker 3: escalator on a turntable.
• 11:50
  Speaker 4: Oh wait.
• 11:51
  Speaker 1: Craig Beerman.
• 11:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 11:52
Speaker 1: With that beautiful pearl white Corvette is stunning.
• 11:55
Speaker 1: But you know, leave it to Craig.
• 11:57
  Speaker 1: I got this.
• 11:58
Speaker 1: I got this, I got it, it's okay, but but these shows are always fun to go to and this is a judged show.
• 12:08
Speaker 1: Yes, A judged show.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, so this is not a cruise in, although I've been to some cruise ins that are judged as well but this is a static display, not a cruise in.
• 12:18
Speaker 1: I guess that you do have a cruise in component to it.
• 12:22
  Speaker 4: We do offer.
• 12:22
Speaker 4: We've got a beautiful covered area out front right along Seawall Boulevard.
• 12:27
Speaker 4: So we do offer a show and shine type.
• 12:30
Speaker 4: It is judged, but it's a very simple judged, you know kind of thing, so we do offer that.
• 12:36
Speaker 1: Do they measure the size of the raindrops that you've collected on there?
• 12:39
Speaker 1: You do not get penalized for raindrops, but if we do, see dust floating in that right now we might
• 12:45
Speaker 2: we might nick you a little yeah.
• 12:46
Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a lot of soft cloths being rubbed on.
• 12:49
  Speaker 4: Yes, so.
• 12:50
Speaker 4: So that's nice and you know the price of that is the same as two two day tickets, so it doesn't cost you extra to participate in that and that's great because you know it's spring break, there's a lot of young people walking up and down Seawall Boulevard, so it helps us, brings, you know, some people with some attention, but also, just you know, some people that aren't around cars.
• 13:09
Speaker 1: Did you join the spring break party last night?
• 13:12
  Speaker 4: I did not.
• 13:12
Speaker 4: I joined in my bed around 830,.
• 13:14
Speaker 4: You know I'm just checking.
• 13:17
Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I was never know.
• 13:19
Speaker 4: I was wore out, jeff.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: This is Mr Party right there.
• 13:23
Speaker 5: Yeah, I make it to least 10 o'clock yeah.
• 13:25
  Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
• 13:26
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 13:28
  Speaker 4: Way late yeah.
• 13:30
Speaker 1: But so there's that that component of the show as well.
• 13:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, so we have basically the three layers.
• 13:34
Speaker 4: We have the Washington show, very simple.
• 13:37
Speaker 4: We have the regular judging for the, for the main competitors, and then we do also offer something called the Tri-Power Award, which is a much more detailed judging and you know, it's Vinny with muscle cars at Texas is actually helping us out with that but that's kind of more of an a national award that they can earn here.
• 13:59
Speaker 1: Nice yeah Is how did a national award?
• 14:02
Speaker 1: So do you do these shows around the United States?
• 14:05
Speaker 4: We don't, but that requires that you have an NCRS certification and.
• 14:09
Speaker 4: I forgot the name of it offhand, but another, another.
• 14:14
Speaker 2: Yeah, so you have to.
• 14:17
Speaker 4: Previously won these other two to even be, you know judge here for the trypower yeah.
• 14:21
Speaker 4: And it's a great way for people that maybe have gotten the other two a few years ago.
• 14:25
Speaker 4: Yeah to get judged again and show that the car is still up to all the standards you know.
• 14:30
  Speaker 1: That's good.
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: Yeah, very cool.
• 14:31
Speaker 1: How did you make that connection?
• 14:34
  Speaker 4: some.
• 14:34
Speaker 4: We started a few years ago, just as you know, kind of a Piece of the an add-on to that yeah add on to the show and then something that was needed, you know.
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: That's.
• 14:45
Speaker 1: That's very cool, because you know a lot of these guys like myself back in the day when I was showing it was.
• 14:52
Speaker 1: You got won the trophy for your Class at that show.
• 14:58
  Speaker 1: That's it, Mm-hmm.
• 14:59
Speaker 1: But this brings another element to it right Right for those particular cars and there's only a few those.
• 15:04
Speaker 4: That's a very small small group understood, but it's still a draw.
• 15:08
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and it's.
• 15:09
Speaker 4: It's a type of vehicle that is, you know, very rare to see, you know probably in an enclosed trailer is the way I got here.
• 15:17
Speaker 4: Definitely I got you yeah.
• 15:19
Speaker 1: Most definitely and I see that truck and I told everybody earlier that you know this is the Corvette Chevy.
• 15:27
  Speaker 3: Expo and that.
• 15:28
Speaker 1: Chevy truck right there Wow.
• 15:30
Speaker 5: That is truly amazing.
• 15:32
Speaker 5: With that being said that it's a Chevy Expo with the Corvette.
• 15:35
Speaker 5: Are there like clubs as well, like, say, for instance, these three in front of us?
• 15:39
Speaker 5: Are they members of clubs?
• 15:40
Speaker 5: Are they just individuals that want to have participation in the show?
• 15:43
Speaker 4: These three are not members.
• 15:46
Speaker 5: Behind us space city.
• 15:47
  Speaker 4: Corvette.
• 15:48
Speaker 4: They were the biggest club this year.
• 15:49
Speaker 4: Again they brought I think they had 32 or 33 registrations.
• 15:53
  Speaker 4: Different years.
• 15:55
Speaker 4: You know it's kind of funny the clubs.
• 15:56
Speaker 4: You know, evan flow space city has been the biggest the last couple years.
• 16:01
Speaker 1: But hair color means a lot.
• 16:03
Speaker 1: So you know, because you know us, us gray hairs.
• 16:08
Speaker 5: You know, you don't have anything to worry about yet.
• 16:11
