- 0:08SPEAKER_14: It's happening in front of us, but we have to be quiet.
- 0:10SPEAKER_17: Trying to be very non-conspicuous.
- 0:12SPEAKER_17: Yes.
- 0:14SPEAKER_17: Non-conspicuous.

- 0:24SPEAKER_18: A pungent blend of onion, cheese, and cat urine.
- 0:29SPEAKER_16: But it's not their fault they smell that way.
- 0:31SPEAKER_18: Is that a wet goat?
- 0:33SPEAKER_16: It's another episode of The General's Wake Up Call.

- 1:01SPEAKER_13: Me too.
- 1:02SPEAKER_17: Uh you know, ri Richard O'Brien i is a frickin' genius as far as I'm concerned.
- 1:06SPEAKER_17: And he was the one that kind of put the whole thing together.
- 1:10SPEAKER_17: Uh and then uh he uh he gave that script to uh an Australian director by the name of Jim Sharman.
- 1:18SPEAKER_17: And the rest, as they say, is history.
- 1:22SPEAKER_14: L'histoire mon ami.
- 1:24SPEAKER_17: So we uh we ended with uh the song uh by Jonathan Adams.
- 1:28SPEAKER_17: Uh it was the song Eddie that uh yeah, that something I don't know what it told Eddie's story.
- 1:34SPEAKER_17: Yeah, no, that was his that was uh that was what's his name?
- 1:37SPEAKER_13: That was Oh, that was just hot patuti, that was meatloaf.
- 1:39SPEAKER_17: Yeah, that was meatloaf.
- 1:40SPEAKER_17: Okay, yeah.
- 1:41SPEAKER_13: The Eddie song.
- 1:41SPEAKER_13: No, this is the song.
- 1:42SPEAKER_13: Yeah, it's a different one.
- 1:44SPEAKER_17: It's a song about Eddie.
- 1:45SPEAKER_17: Yeah, that's the one we ended with.
- 1:46SPEAKER_17: We're gonna we're gonna start out with uh Susan Saradin.
- 1:51SPEAKER_17: Sarandon.
- 1:52SPEAKER_07: There you go.
- 1:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, Susan Sarandon.
- 1:54SPEAKER_17: Yeah, well, it's only funny to us, but it is funny to me.
- 1:58SPEAKER_17: That's all that matters.
- 1:59SPEAKER_17: Little Nell, uh Barry Boswick, Peter Hinwood, they all uh they all uh uh participate in this one, and of course it's another one that was written by um our our buddy uh Richard O'Brien.
- 2:11SPEAKER_17: And you know, I want to say too um that on the show today we're gonna have uh uh Ask Ren and David, we'll have uh Dave Benese, and we'll have uh Rin Rance.
- 2:22SPEAKER_17: Have you have you thought of a different one?
- 2:24SPEAKER_17: I yeah, I don't know.
- 2:25SPEAKER_14: Do you remember what I told you I was gonna do this time?
- 2:28SPEAKER_14: That I wanted to do.
- 2:29SPEAKER_17: I don't.
- 2:30SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 2:30SPEAKER_14: So do you want it to be a surprise or do you want me to tell you?
- 2:33SPEAKER_17: Um let's hold it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 2:34SPEAKER_14: Maybe I'll give you hints throughout the show.
- 2:36SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 2:37SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 2:38SPEAKER_17: I probably still won't get it.
- 2:40SPEAKER_17: You know, I went to watch the blob because you have rated that in one of our shows.
- 2:43SPEAKER_17: I don't think that share's even broke yet.
- 2:45SPEAKER_14: It's a remake?
- 2:46SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 2:46SPEAKER_17: And uh they wanted to charge me and I didn't do it, but that's that's fine.
- 2:50SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I but I'm going to.
- 2:52SPEAKER_17: It's got my curiosity up.
- 2:54SPEAKER_14: For those who don't live in Farmington, I want to tell you about something I'm very proud of.
- 2:58SPEAKER_14: We still have a video rental store in town called Front Row Seat.
- 3:03SPEAKER_14: It's right next to Little Caesars.
- 3:04SPEAKER_14: And I rented a movie from there the other day.
- 3:06SPEAKER_17: Did you?
- 3:07SPEAKER_14: Because I could not find it anywhere online.
- 3:09SPEAKER_14: And so I went there.
- 3:10SPEAKER_17: I wonder if they have a blob.
- 3:11SPEAKER_17: I bet they do.
- 3:12SPEAKER_14: I bet you they do.
- 3:13SPEAKER_14: And it was only two dollars to rent it.
- 3:15SPEAKER_17: Wow.
- 3:16SPEAKER_17: If it's back within two days.
- 3:18SPEAKER_14: Well, they they're letting me have it till Sunday.
- 3:20SPEAKER_17: Oh, so you get a whole week.
- 3:21SPEAKER_17: You get a whole week.
- 3:22SPEAKER_17: Wow.
- 3:23SPEAKER_17: Impressive.
- 3:24SPEAKER_17: Shout out to front row seat.
- 3:26SPEAKER_14: Have you heard of this great thing?
- 3:27SPEAKER_14: It's where you can borrow DVDs from stores and then give them back.
- 3:31SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 3:31SPEAKER_17: You gotta give them back, or it's gonna cost you quadruple.
- 3:35SPEAKER_17: All right, let's go ahead and get into music.
- 3:36SPEAKER_17: Let's uh let's hit uh what did I tell you it was gonna be?
- 3:39SPEAKER_14: It's uh rose tint, my word.
- 3:42SPEAKER_17: Yeah, thank you very much.
- 3:43SPEAKER_14: Let's get this started.
- 3:44SPEAKER_17: Let's get this party started.
- 3:47SPEAKER_17: Somebody get pink on the phone.
- 4:13SPEAKER_11: It was great when it all became.
- 4:17SPEAKER_11: I was a regular Frankie being.
- 4:22unknown: But it was over when we had the flame.
- 4:26unknown: Just out of asking out of muscle me.
- 4:31SPEAKER_11: All the things that use me all is my love, have a second Carol stae well, keeps me safe from the trouble and pain.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: I'm just seven hours old.
- 4:51SPEAKER_02: True and beautiful, say whole somebody has should control.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Well a beetle hasn't been controlled.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: Well, since my work gets me from my trouble, it's army.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: I'll be good for Take this dream away, what's come over me?
- 5:57SPEAKER_07: I feel free.
- 7:37SPEAKER_09: Give yourself over to absolute pleasure, swim the warm waters, absent from the flesh, what a nightmare beyond any measure, and sensual dangers to treasure forever what can't you just see?
- 9:11SPEAKER_20: Out of history before this decadence steps out.
- 9:21SPEAKER_19: I've gotta be strong and try to hang on, or else my mind may well snap, and my life will be lived.
- 9:54SPEAKER_21: Help me, mommy, God bless, I have a violent thing.
- 10:15SPEAKER_21: I'm a beat, you gotta tell me, you gotta go thing, the hotel sick, not like a body and the sound rock.
- 10:24SPEAKER_21: We gotta shake a colour like a wild thing, we're gonna be with a dead end sticks.
- 11:51SPEAKER_14: Prepare the translation we were just having would fit in kind of well with you.
- 12:08SPEAKER_17: We were talking about using the use of marijuana for medical reasons, and it's becoming more and more um widely used in and in the state of New Mexico.
- 12:20SPEAKER_17: Now it's gonna be legal for you just to go to some level and buy a bag.
- 12:24SPEAKER_17: I don't know if it's a bag or not, but yeah.
- 12:26SPEAKER_14: I mean I there's um there's companies trying to build uh um marijuana dispenser like vending machines.
- 12:34SPEAKER_17: Oh, that'd be cool.
- 12:35SPEAKER_14: Because you know it's like a owning dispensary is like having a liquor license.
- 12:38SPEAKER_17: And there'll be candy bars in there too.
- 12:41SPEAKER_14: And it just pops out like a little fun-sized quick stuff.
- 12:43SPEAKER_17: Yeah, chips, candy bars, yeah, bunchy stuff.
- 12:46SPEAKER_14: Apparently, opening a dispensary is as difficult as opening a bar with the legal stuff.
- 12:50SPEAKER_14: But um, if you put it all in the self-contained um makes it different?
- 12:55SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I guess it's under a different law.
- 12:57SPEAKER_14: So you can have the vending machines at hopefully gas stations and stuff.
- 13:01SPEAKER_17: Wow.
- 13:02SPEAKER_14: Fingers crossed.
- 13:03SPEAKER_17: Who knew?
- 13:03SPEAKER_14: Well, maybe not gas stations, grocery stores.
- 13:05SPEAKER_17: Grocery stores.
- 13:05SPEAKER_17: Well, yeah, it'll it'll be in the gas station, convenience store, gas.
- 13:09SPEAKER_17: I mean, that's where I got the C B D cigarettes that I bought.
- 13:12SPEAKER_14: I know, they sell them at 7-Elevens.
- 13:13SPEAKER_14: It's just so crazy to see like these joints on the window.
- 13:18SPEAKER_17: It is kind of weird.
- 13:19SPEAKER_17: Times have changed.
- 13:20SPEAKER_14: They have, but I hope I think it's for the best.
- 13:23SPEAKER_17: I did too, and I and I do think there I I have a point, I've got to dig that poem out, that I that I wrote when I was in high school, and of course I was a pothead in high school.
- 13:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:32SPEAKER_17: But that's when it was highly illegal, and you could get in major trouble for having it.
- 13:37SPEAKER_13: A big war on drugs going on.
- 13:39SPEAKER_17: Yeah, back in the 70s.
- 13:40SPEAKER_17: Uh and early 60s and uh uh late 60s, early 70s.
- 13:45SPEAKER_17: Anyway, um and the poem talks about that, you know, that it's is it harmful?
- 13:51SPEAKER_17: Only he knows for sure.
- 13:53SPEAKER_17: And I it's kind of like it's not harmful.
- 13:56SPEAKER_17: I mean, it's it's a m it's a it's a and now they're discovering all kinds of things to do with it.
- 14:03SPEAKER_14: Like the there's some sort of isolate you can get from C B D or or or THC.
- 14:07SPEAKER_14: I think it's C B D that has a higher um pain-killing.
- 14:12SPEAKER_17: It is the C B D opium, but it doesn't have all the side effects or the uh addictive rate.
- 14:18SPEAKER_14: Yeah, no one in the history of the world has ever died of a marijuana overdose, too.
- 14:23SPEAKER_17: And you know, we did I did an interview on our other show, uh the Glow Up Chronicles with uh Heather Sobel, R N, who is a uh I'm just gonna take off a marijuana spokesperson.
- 14:34SPEAKER_17: Nice and uh and she talks about you can't overdose on it.
- 14:38SPEAKER_17: You can you know you can you can get way too high and kind of freak out, but you can't overdose.
- 14:43SPEAKER_17: I mean, she goes into great conversation.
- 14:45SPEAKER_17: We probably should have her on this show, too.
- 14:47SPEAKER_17: That'd be cool because it's extremely educational.
- 14:49SPEAKER_14: So that would be a fun theme for the show, too.
- 14:52SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that's why it's maybe psychedelia.
- 14:54SPEAKER_17: That's what I'm thinking too.
- 14:56SPEAKER_17: Um but yeah, we'll we'll make a note of that.
- 14:59SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 15:00SPEAKER_14: And it's important to note too, you know, weed is not a cure all.
- 15:04SPEAKER_14: It's not gonna cure everything.
- 15:05SPEAKER_14: Some people are allergic to it, some people it just makes them feel worse.
- 15:09SPEAKER_14: So it's like if it's for you, awesome.
- 15:11SPEAKER_14: If it's not for you, that's good too.
- 15:13SPEAKER_14: Don't give people hard time because they don't they don't want to have a bit of the joint at the party.
- 15:18SPEAKER_17: Yeah, a bit of a joint.
- 15:19SPEAKER_14: You know, just a little bit.
- 15:20SPEAKER_14: You know how they'll be like, come on, man, just one.
- 15:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 15:23SPEAKER_14: No.
- 15:24SPEAKER_17: No.
- 15:25SPEAKER_17: You know what I uh I really partaked partook a lot in uh when I lived in Durango because I was in the Snowdown Follies and uh you know, and I don't want to get anybody in trouble.
- 15:34SPEAKER_17: It was illegal then too, but we would go out behind the theater and smoke a couple and then go back in and act, you know.
- 15:42SPEAKER_17: So yeah.
- 15:43SPEAKER_14: It's I don't know.
- 15:44SPEAKER_17: It is what it is.
- 15:45SPEAKER_14: And I think the criminalization of marijuana has been used as a reason to lock up otherwise non-violent offenders.
- 15:52SPEAKER_14: Probably, yeah.
- 15:53SPEAKER_14: Probably of of you know African American descent.
- 15:56SPEAKER_14: Just a way to go, oh, they have pot, let's arrest them.
- 15:58SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 15:59SPEAKER_14: I don't know.
- 16:00SPEAKER_17: All right, well, let's get back into music.
- 16:01SPEAKER_17: I think we need to do, I'm getting way too serious, and I want to go smoke a doobie right now.
- 16:05SPEAKER_14: Yeah, let's let's lighten it up, baby.
- 16:07SPEAKER_17: Oh, I thought you said let's lighten one up.
- 16:09SPEAKER_14: Well, we'll lighten up by lighting one up.
- 16:13SPEAKER_14: Just kidding.
- 16:14SPEAKER_17: Yeah, next one coming up is uh I'm com I'm going home.
- 16:17SPEAKER_17: Dim Curry.
- 16:17SPEAKER_17: This is when he talks about going back to his planet.
- 16:20SPEAKER_14: I'm going home to the planet where I belong.
- 16:34SPEAKER_10: On the day I went away was all I had to say I want to come again and stay.
- 16:57SPEAKER_10: Smile, and that will mean I'm seeing I realize I'm going home.
- 17:46SPEAKER_09: Everywhere it's been the same.
- 17:55SPEAKER_09: Like I'm outside in the rain.
- 18:02SPEAKER_09: Free for trying to find the game.
- 18:09SPEAKER_09: Cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
- 19:14SPEAKER_13: Thank you, Dave.
- 19:15SPEAKER_17: Give you a microphone and look out.
- 19:18SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 19:18SPEAKER_13: Turn you.
- 19:19SPEAKER_14: Superstar comes out.
- 19:20SPEAKER_14: Superstar.
- 19:21SPEAKER_14: Superstar.
- 19:23SPEAKER_14: Thank you, Molly Shannon.
- 19:24SPEAKER_17: I was just gonna say, she just did the Molly.
- 19:26SPEAKER_17: What was her name?
- 19:27SPEAKER_14: Molly Molly Shannon?
- 19:28SPEAKER_17: Yeah, the woman's superstar.
- 19:30SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 19:31SPEAKER_17: She did the motions and everything, folks.
- 19:33SPEAKER_14: Thank you.
- 19:33SPEAKER_14: I I was a big fan of 90s SNL.
- 19:35SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 19:36SPEAKER_17: I was more the early SNL.
- 19:38SPEAKER_14: Oh, I've seen that too.
- 19:39SPEAKER_14: I really love that.
- 19:41SPEAKER_17: John Belushi, big, big fan.
- 19:43SPEAKER_14: John Belushi.
- 19:44SPEAKER_14: I like really I really like Gilda Radner.
- 19:46SPEAKER_17: Dan Aykroyd.
- 19:48SPEAKER_14: Dan Aykroyd.
- 19:48SPEAKER_14: I can do without Chevy Chase.
- 19:51SPEAKER_14: Chevy, you know, he did have a charm.
- 19:53SPEAKER_17: He did.
- 19:54SPEAKER_17: And he's funny, he's all get out, but he's gotten some bad rap because I guess he's a real asshole.
- 19:59SPEAKER_14: Yeah, that's exactly what I've heard.
- 20:01SPEAKER_17: I I I don't know that for a fact.
- 20:04SPEAKER_17: Okay, so I'm not calling you one.
- 20:05SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I'm not calling you one, Chevy.
- 20:07SPEAKER_17: Give me a call.
- 20:08SPEAKER_17: You can call me.
- 20:08SPEAKER_17: We can discuss it.
- 20:10SPEAKER_17: I didn't not sing it.
- 20:11SPEAKER_17: It's just I've heard that.
- 20:12SPEAKER_13: It is speculation.
- 20:13SPEAKER_17: I don't know him personally, so I can't I can't judge.
- 20:17SPEAKER_17: I don't know of anything he's done.
- 20:19SPEAKER_17: I know that Henry Winkler is kind of a butt.
- 20:21SPEAKER_08: Is he?
- 20:22SPEAKER_17: Well, I was in a I was in the uh Vegas airport, uh-huh.
- 20:25SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 20:26SPEAKER_17: And I'm on the phone talking to I think probably uh whoever I was with at the time, and I'm walking by and I see him coming.
- 20:33SPEAKER_17: He's in that typical suit that he always wears with the plaid, yeah, you know, pastel covered uh vest.
- 20:39SPEAKER_17: It's like it's a sweater vest kind of thing.
- 20:42SPEAKER_17: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 20:43SPEAKER_17: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:43SPEAKER_17: So anyway, I'm walking this, I'm walking one way, he's walking the opposite way, and we're like like passing one another, like as close as you and I.
- 20:50SPEAKER_17: Yeah, you know, and I and I just turn him and said, How are you doing, Mr.
- 20:53SPEAKER_17: Winkler?
- 20:54SPEAKER_17: And that's all I said to him.
- 20:57SPEAKER_17: And he just his head turned the other way, he wouldn't even look at me.
- 20:59SPEAKER_13: Oh my gosh.
- 21:00SPEAKER_17: Yeah, so I thought either he he needs a hearing aid.
- 21:04SPEAKER_17: Yeah, or he's an ass.
- 21:06SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna hope because Henry Henry Winkler says like a cool dude.
- 21:10SPEAKER_14: I I'm hoping that he just didn't quite hear you, and he was like, What?
- 21:16SPEAKER_14: He had to be somewhere.
- 21:18SPEAKER_14: I'm hoping it was that.
- 21:19SPEAKER_17: Had his hands in his pockets, you know, he's just strolling kind of casual.
- 21:23SPEAKER_14: If anybody knows Hen Henry Winkler, ask him about this event.
- 21:26SPEAKER_17: Yeah, please, and tell me.
- 21:27SPEAKER_14: I'm sure he remembers.
- 21:28SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I'm sure he does.
- 21:30SPEAKER_17: I've also had encounters with Danny Glover.
- 21:33SPEAKER_14: Really?
- 21:33SPEAKER_17: Yeah, do you know Danny from Glover?
- 21:35SPEAKER_14: Oh Yeah.
- 21:36SPEAKER_17: Well, I got on a plane.
- 21:38SPEAKER_14: What's he from again?
- 21:39SPEAKER_17: Uh Lethal Weapons.
- 21:40SPEAKER_14: That's it.
- 21:40SPEAKER_14: That's it.
- 21:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 21:41SPEAKER_17: All the Lethal Weapons.
- 21:42SPEAKER_17: He's been to some other shows.
- 21:42SPEAKER_17: I've seen him in a couple other things.
- 21:44SPEAKER_14: I know I've seen him in a couple things.
- 21:45SPEAKER_14: Danny Glover, was he in Okay, anyway, go ahead.
- 21:49SPEAKER_17: Well, just my celebrity story with him is he uh he was I I got on a plane and this is those are the days when you walk through first class to get to the where I was.
- 22:00SPEAKER_17: Yeah, in the best.
- 22:00SPEAKER_13: You still do.
- 22:02SPEAKER_13: You still have to go like, hi, rich people.
- 22:04SPEAKER_13: I'm just a cattle human.
- 22:06SPEAKER_17: Anyway.
- 22:07SPEAKER_17: Anyway.
- 22:08SPEAKER_17: Um, he was sitting front row, and I'm like, that's Danny Clover.
- 22:13SPEAKER_12: I said, hey.
- 22:13SPEAKER_12: And he's he looked up and says, Hey, waved, kind of waved at him, and I'm like, sir, gun, you know.
- 22:18SPEAKER_12: I just kept on walking.
- 22:19SPEAKER_14: I feel like, yeah, that's the most interesting thing.
- 22:22SPEAKER_17: People behind me were stopping traffic, you know, trying to talk to him.
- 22:25SPEAKER_13: No way.
- 22:26SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 22:27SPEAKER_17: Well, he did say hello to me again outside of uh when when the airport unloaded.
- 22:32SPEAKER_17: He we had a huge group of people there picking him up.
- 22:35SPEAKER_17: And he was very nice.
- 22:37SPEAKER_17: He was super nice guy.
- 22:38SPEAKER_14: He seems like a sweet guy.
- 22:39SPEAKER_14: That's a great.
- 22:40SPEAKER_14: I don't have too many celebrity stories, but one time uh when I was living in New York, we went to the Turning Stone Casino to see Kevin Nealin.
- 22:48SPEAKER_17: Oh yeah?
- 22:49SPEAKER_14: You know Kevin Nealin from uh Saturday Night Live.
- 22:51SPEAKER_14: I guess he was a little at the later time, but he did weekend update and everything.
- 22:54SPEAKER_14: He was doing a comedy show and it was hilarious.
- 22:56SPEAKER_14: But he had a bit where he needed somebody to come up on stage and me being the little You went on stage?
- 23:02SPEAKER_14: Attention hogger.
- 23:03SPEAKER_14: I just stood up and I raised my hand and he's like, Well, she she looks like she wants to be up here, so let's bring her up.
- 23:09SPEAKER_14: And I guess the whole bit was he was doing a caricature of me.
- 23:13SPEAKER_14: I couldn't see what he was drawing.
- 23:14SPEAKER_14: He was like, you know, touching my face and smudging it, and it was so funny, it was so sweet.
- 23:19SPEAKER_14: And I had I had the caricature he gave me for the longest time.
- 23:23SPEAKER_14: It was really cool.
- 23:24SPEAKER_14: I it's one of my favorite memories.
- 23:26SPEAKER_14: So Kevin Nealand seems like a cool dude as well.
- 23:29SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I I don't know him.
- 23:30SPEAKER_17: I do know Ed McMahon was an asshole.
- 23:33SPEAKER_13: Ed McMahon.
- 23:34SPEAKER_17: And I know that firsthand.
- 23:35SPEAKER_13: First hand?
- 23:36SPEAKER_17: First hand.
- 23:37SPEAKER_17: He was in Phoenix for something, I I don't know.
- 23:40SPEAKER_17: And um they came in on a private plane, and there was a few people allowed at the back, and my my wife at the time and I were um there, right?
- 23:50SPEAKER_17: And so we're walking towards where you can shake his hand, and a guy, uh his bodyguard, one of his bodyguard, pulls me and puts his hand out in front of me and pulls me back.
- 23:58SPEAKER_17: Wow.
- 23:59SPEAKER_17: And he lets my wife go, and I'm like, Well, I'd like to I'd like to and so the guy sends me back, he goes, Hold on, I've got to tell you.
- 24:07SPEAKER_17: So apparently this guy wasn't a full-time bodyguard if he was maybe just hired for the day or something.
- 24:14SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 24:14SPEAKER_17: But anyway, he goes, he doesn't want anybody taller than him standing next to him.
- 24:19SPEAKER_17: And I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 24:21SPEAKER_17: He goes, No.
- 24:22SPEAKER_14: All right, the king and I.
- 24:24SPEAKER_12: I'm like, okay.
- 24:26SPEAKER_12: How about if I get on my knees and go up to him?
- 24:29SPEAKER_14: Please, Ed McMahon.
- 24:31SPEAKER_17: But then after they told me that, I thought, well, I don't want to shake that guy's hand anyway.
- 24:34SPEAKER_14: Yeah, so insecure.
- 24:35SPEAKER_14: No way.
- 24:37SPEAKER_17: All right, let's do one more.
- 24:39SPEAKER_17: Um, and then let's see.
- 24:42SPEAKER_17: Wait a minute.
- 24:43SPEAKER_17: Uh we only got yeah, let's do one more and then we'll do a commercial break.
- 24:46SPEAKER_08: Okay, let's see.
- 24:47SPEAKER_17: We'll do uh Dave Bonise and we'll do a commercial break.
- 24:49SPEAKER_17: Okay, smart.
- 24:50SPEAKER_17: So, so um, oh, or two, I you know, uh I I I first before we go into this, I Jennifer Lopez and Arod of are no more.
- 25:00SPEAKER_17: You knew that, right?
- 25:01SPEAKER_14: I didn't know they were together, but now I know, and now I'm sad that they broke up.
- 25:05SPEAKER_17: Yeah, they were together a while.
- 25:06SPEAKER_17: I thought it was gonna be a great relationship.
- 25:08SPEAKER_14: What is that?
- 25:08SPEAKER_14: Aaron Rodriguez?
- 25:09SPEAKER_17: Yeah, he was the uh Yankee baller player.
- 25:13SPEAKER_14: I like J Lo.
- 25:14SPEAKER_17: Yeah, Aaron Rodriguez.
- 25:15SPEAKER_17: I don't care for J-Lo.
- 25:16SPEAKER_14: She's fine, but I I don't know.
- 25:18SPEAKER_14: I liked her music.
- 25:19SPEAKER_14: She was really big when I was a kid.
- 25:20SPEAKER_17: Some of it, yeah, okay.
- 25:21SPEAKER_17: I mean, I I I shouldn't say it online.
- 25:24SPEAKER_17: I don't know her.
- 25:24SPEAKER_14: If you are my love of competitive, she's got some good stuff.
- 25:28SPEAKER_17: I like the Ginny from the Block song.
- 25:30SPEAKER_14: That one too.
- 25:30SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 25:31SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 25:31SPEAKER_14: She's a cutie.
- 25:32SPEAKER_17: Uh she's making a fresh start.
- 25:34SPEAKER_17: She's moving uh to Los Angeles, and it says she's doing a fresh start with Ben Affleck.
- 25:39SPEAKER_14: Goodness.
- 25:40SPEAKER_14: Yeah, they were together like forever ago, weren't they?
- 25:43SPEAKER_14: Yeah, it was Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, and then they then they broke up and then he dated Jennifer Garner, and I thought that was hilarious.
- 25:50SPEAKER_14: I said, Oh, those two Jennifer.
- 25:52SPEAKER_17: You know, now that's uh it's one of those things they're they're uh they think they're moving so quickly that they're already setting a date for the divorce.
- 26:02SPEAKER_14: We'll have the honeymoon period here.
- 26:04SPEAKER_14: We'll get in a big fight, we'll grow distant because we'll take two different projects and then we'll divorce.
- 26:10SPEAKER_14: It's a love story, a Hollywood love story.
- 26:13SPEAKER_12: Most definitely is tears in my eyes.
- 26:17SPEAKER_14: Directed by Ben Affleck.
- 26:19SPEAKER_17: All right, so uh we're gonna do we do superheroes?
- 26:22SPEAKER_14: We have not.
- 26:23SPEAKER_17: We have not?
- 26:23SPEAKER_17: We've not.
- 26:24SPEAKER_17: Oh, okay.
- 26:24SPEAKER_17: Let's do superheroes, then we'll do uh Debonese and uh and then uh we'll do a commercial break and sounds good.
- 26:31SPEAKER_17: Okay, what do you think?
- 26:32SPEAKER_14: This one's uh Charles Gray, Susan Saran Rap, and Barry Boswick.
- 26:38SPEAKER_14: I'm sorry, did I say that wrong?
- 26:41SPEAKER_17: Sarandon.
- 26:42SPEAKER_14: Susan Sarandon.
- 26:44SPEAKER_14: Oh, sorry.
- 27:29SPEAKER_22: To find the truth.
- 27:33SPEAKER_07: I've even liked, but all I know is down inside I'm bleeding and superhero test the flight not to see the distance.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: Some insects called the human race, lost in time, and lost in space and meaning.
- 29:44SPEAKER_17: I don't know, are you the music's kind of depressing?
- 29:47SPEAKER_14: I know.
- 29:47SPEAKER_14: The end of the show is not as lively as the beginning.
- 29:51SPEAKER_17: Well, actually, I don't think these are in order that they appeared in the movie.
- 29:55SPEAKER_17: I think I said that in the first show, but I think they're just in they're the order that they appear on the soundtrack, is what I meant to say, but I'm positive that they're not in order they appeared in the movie.
- 30:06SPEAKER_14: Okay.
- 30:06SPEAKER_14: I trust you because I know you actually acted in the the production.
- 30:11SPEAKER_17: I I didn't act in the production, but I was a You performed.
- 30:15SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I did at the movie theater.
- 30:17SPEAKER_14: Lip syncing and doing the the body movements, that's still performing.

- 30:21SPEAKER_17: I had fishnet stockings.
- 30:23SPEAKER_14: Nice.
- 30:23SPEAKER_14: So you dedicated.
- 30:24SPEAKER_17: A lot thinner then.
- 30:25SPEAKER_17: I didn't have the high-heeled shoes, though.
- 30:27SPEAKER_17: I would have loved to have those.
- 30:28SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 30:29SPEAKER_17: And I don't know that I could have found a teddy big enough for me to like.
- 30:34SPEAKER_14: So you could have had it made.
- 30:35SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I could have.
- 30:38SPEAKER_17: Yeah, whatever.
- 30:39SPEAKER_17: All right, let's uh let's do David Ease.
- 30:41SPEAKER_16: Just what is David Mees?
- 30:44SPEAKER_16: According to Webster's dictionary.
- 30:47SPEAKER_16: Well, you're not gonna find it there.

- 31:23SPEAKER_16: This has been David Knees.
- 32:07SPEAKER_17: Let's talk first.

- 32:10SPEAKER_14: Talk me into it.
- 32:11unknown: Okay.

- 33:35SPEAKER_17: Um just in general.
- 33:37SPEAKER_17: We don't Ren and I don't make any money.
- 33:40SPEAKER_17: None.
- 33:41SPEAKER_14: We do it for the love of it, folks.
- 33:43SPEAKER_17: I think so.
- 33:43SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I do love it.

- 34:29SPEAKER_14: I don't like washing dishes.
- 34:29SPEAKER_14: I'll do your laundry.
- 34:30SPEAKER_14: Oh, okay.
- 34:31SPEAKER_14: There you go.
- 34:31SPEAKER_14: I'm pretty good with a bottle of shout in a in a container of oxy cleanse.
- 34:36SPEAKER_17: Okay, all right.
- 34:37SPEAKER_17: So there you go.
- 34:39SPEAKER_17: That's funny.
- 34:40SPEAKER_14: Thank you.
- 34:41SPEAKER_17: Uh-huh.
- 34:42SPEAKER_17: Um anyway, we we yeah, we would appreciate we would appreciate it all, inning and all.
- 34:47SPEAKER_17: All right, this uh is the second half of the uh Rocky Horror Picture Show, the soundtrack that was there that I thought uh it was just Richard O'Brien is just a genius.
- 34:55SPEAKER_17: He's a brilliant young man, and then who he got to help him out with it was fantastic.
- 34:59SPEAKER_13: We probably starcast.
- 35:02SPEAKER_14: Before they were all stars.
- 35:03SPEAKER_17: Yeah, before they were all stars.
- 35:04SPEAKER_17: Uh it was directed by Jim Sharman, produced by uh Lou Adler and Michael White.
- 35:09SPEAKER_17: Uh screenplay is by uh Richard O'Brien, uh who plays um The Butler.
- 35:14SPEAKER_14: The butla.
- 35:15SPEAKER_14: But the hump.
- 35:16SPEAKER_14: I love it.
- 35:16SPEAKER_17: But the hump.
- 35:17SPEAKER_17: Uh and Jim Sherman.
- 35:18SPEAKER_14: That's who I would dress up as.
- 35:20SPEAKER_17: Um it was based on the Rocky Horror Picture Show by Richard O'Brien, starring uh Tim Curry, Susan Saridan, Sarandon.
- 35:28SPEAKER_14: Sarandra.
- 35:29SPEAKER_17: I was waiting for you to correct me, but you didn't do it.
- 35:30SPEAKER_14: Well, you look at me every time, so I feel like I can't fall into the trap.
- 35:33SPEAKER_17: Uh-uh.
- 35:34SPEAKER_17: And Barry Boswick are the main ones.
- 35:36SPEAKER_17: Uh it was narrated by Charles Gray.
- 35:38SPEAKER_17: Music by Richard Hartley and all, of course, all the songs.
- 35:41SPEAKER_17: Just uh Meatloaf is in there.
- 35:43SPEAKER_17: Um he plays Eddie.
- 35:45SPEAKER_17: Charles Gray is the uh criminal criminologist, criminologist.
- 35:49SPEAKER_14: Who's like breaking it down as the movie goes?
- 35:51SPEAKER_17: He's the expert.
- 35:52SPEAKER_17: Jeremy Newsom as Ralph Hapshat, which I don't know, I don't remember who that was.
- 35:59SPEAKER_14: Because I know there's all the like party goer background people, they could all have names.
- 36:03SPEAKER_17: Hillary Farr, uh, who's also credited, is says credited by Hillary Labot as Betty Munro.
- 36:10SPEAKER_14: Betty Monroe.
- 36:11SPEAKER_17: Betty Munro.
- 36:12SPEAKER_14: Some of these people know, some of the people out there know these names.
- 36:15SPEAKER_17: Anyway, just just brilliant.
- 36:17SPEAKER_17: Just absolutely brilliant, I think.
- 36:18SPEAKER_14: I think it's wonderful the message.
- 36:20SPEAKER_14: You know, don't dream it, be it.
- 36:21SPEAKER_14: Of course, it's it's all steeped in debauchery and yeah, well, you know, you gotta get past but you know what?
- 36:28SPEAKER_17: You don't get your attention.
- 36:30SPEAKER_14: It does.
- 36:30SPEAKER_14: That's what I'm saying.
- 36:31SPEAKER_14: It's not bad.
- 36:31SPEAKER_14: It's obviously like camp.
- 36:33SPEAKER_17: It's obviously kind of like Yeah, it is debauchery though.
- 36:36SPEAKER_14: Uh-huh.
- 36:36SPEAKER_14: And it's a it's a celebration of being yourself.
- 36:39SPEAKER_14: And I know that a lot of the LGBTQ plus.
- 36:43SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 36:43SPEAKER_14: I know a lot of the uh the modern day take is that um some of the stuff in Rocky War Picture Show is what we would now call kind of um problematic or whatever, like the word transsexual and the word transvestite.
- 36:56SPEAKER_14: There's more problems with it, but um I think the majority of people accept it for being like a beacon for different people, for gay people to be like, hey, I'm seen.
- 37:08SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_14: And and it's it might be okay that I'm like this.
- 37:11SPEAKER_14: The thing is, people tell me I'm a sinner, you know what?
- 37:13SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna go full full on it.
- 37:15SPEAKER_14: I'm gonna build a castle of sin and have a blast.
- 37:18SPEAKER_17: The thing for me is you know, it may not be I may not agree with it, yeah.
- 37:23SPEAKER_17: But I respect it, and I think that's the thing.
- 37:25SPEAKER_17: I I respect you as a human being to believe, to do whatever you want what it is that you want to do.
- 37:34SPEAKER_17: And I think that's the whole message behind this is to respect and love one another and that it's uh not that it's not that bad.
- 37:43SPEAKER_14: I mean, yeah, well, and it it makes a good solid point of showing that both Brad and Janet become, you know, freer from their experience with Drake and Furter.
- 37:53SPEAKER_14: At first they're they're terrified, but then they're like, no, I I like this and this is fun and this is cool.
- 37:58SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 37:58SPEAKER_14: You know?
- 37:59SPEAKER_17: It doesn't mean they have to live that way the rest of their life.
- 38:01SPEAKER_17: It just means that it helps open their eyes.
- 38:05SPEAKER_14: Hey, if anybody ever tells you a part of your life is just a phase, tell them that literally every single part of life is a phase.
- 38:14SPEAKER_14: There's no part of life that's gonna last forever, okay?
- 38:17SPEAKER_14: No.
- 38:17SPEAKER_14: So you know what?
- 38:18SPEAKER_14: Sure.
- 38:18SPEAKER_14: If it is a phase, do it.
- 38:20SPEAKER_14: It's your phase.
- 38:21SPEAKER_17: Phase me, baby, phase me.
- 38:23SPEAKER_14: Set phasers to fun.
- 38:25SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 38:26SPEAKER_17: Oh, phase.
- 38:27SPEAKER_17: All right, we need Scotty.
- 38:29SPEAKER_13: We need Scotty.
- 38:30SPEAKER_17: Where are you, Scotty?
- 38:31SPEAKER_17: Wherefore art thou, Scotty?
- 38:33SPEAKER_13: Wherefore art thou?
- 38:34SPEAKER_17: All right, so let's uh let's go ahead and let's play another song.
- 38:37SPEAKER_17: We're almost done with songs, I think.
- 38:38SPEAKER_14: Yeah, we're on to the reprise of science fiction double feature.
- 38:41SPEAKER_17: Is is that science fiction?
- 38:43SPEAKER_17: Oh, it is the repr the reprise.
- 38:45SPEAKER_14: Reprises are sometimes my favorite songs.
- 38:47SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I would I would attend to agree with that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_17: This is Richard O'Brien again.
- 38:50SPEAKER_17: I just love Richard.
- 38:51SPEAKER_14: I love we love you, Richard.
- 38:53SPEAKER_17: Nasta.
- 38:54SPEAKER_05: Nastafic.
- 39:06SPEAKER_05: Double feature.
- 39:12SPEAKER_05: Frank has filtered lost his creature.
- 39:59SPEAKER_05: I wanna go.
- 40:20SPEAKER_17: It's done.
- 40:21SPEAKER_17: It's done.
- 40:21SPEAKER_17: Oh my god, it's over already.
- 40:23SPEAKER_17: I'm glad you're paying attention.
- 40:24SPEAKER_17: It's over.
- 40:25SPEAKER_17: We were so depth in conversation there.
- 40:27SPEAKER_14: We were doing business.
- 40:28SPEAKER_14: Dave is all about the business, the business.
- 40:30SPEAKER_14: We're doing business.
- 40:31SPEAKER_14: Luckily, I have uh uh board op sense, so I'm like, oh, song over.
- 40:35SPEAKER_17: Yeah, song over.
- 40:37SPEAKER_17: Silence.
- 40:37SPEAKER_17: You had your head set on too that I didn't.
- 40:39SPEAKER_17: I took mine off.
- 40:40SPEAKER_17: Uh all right.
- 40:41SPEAKER_17: Well, so let's, you know what?
- 40:42SPEAKER_17: We're uh we've only got a couple more to do, and then we're gonna do uh Rim's rants, and I you know we need to answer an email, I think.
- 40:49SPEAKER_14: We do.
- 40:50SPEAKER_14: The people need our help.
- 40:51SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 40:51SPEAKER_14: Just like we need their help, we're getting the help back.
- 40:53SPEAKER_17: That's right.
- 40:54SPEAKER_17: We've we get we give out when we get in.
- 40:58SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 40:58SPEAKER_17: Did that make sense?
- 41:00SPEAKER_17: We get as we give as good as we get.
- 41:01SPEAKER_14: We give as good as we get.
- 41:03SPEAKER_14: Oh, we are givers.
- 41:05SPEAKER_12: Okay, so uh play that.
- 41:08SPEAKER_12: Play it.
- 41:09SPEAKER_14: Play the funky opening, Brennan.
- 41:12SPEAKER_16: You've got questions, you got an email.
- 41:15SPEAKER_16: We've got answers.
- 41:16SPEAKER_16: An email.
- 41:18SPEAKER_16: You may not like the answers, but we got them.
- 41:21SPEAKER_16: We just got an email.
- 41:24SPEAKER_16: I wonder who it's from.
- 41:27SPEAKER_16: Ask Ren and David.
- 41:28SPEAKER_17: How you guys doing?
- 41:30SPEAKER_17: Well, listen, uh emails, emails, emails.
- 41:33SPEAKER_14: Emails, emails.
- 41:34SPEAKER_14: Are they emails if they're on paper?
- 41:36SPEAKER_17: Yeah, oh, that's an interesting well, I printed them from the email.
- 41:39SPEAKER_14: Oh, okay.
- 41:40SPEAKER_14: So physical emails.
- 41:41SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 41:42SPEAKER_14: All right.
- 41:42SPEAKER_14: All right.
- 41:43SPEAKER_17: Well, I don't know about physical.
- 41:45SPEAKER_14: Well, it's the email, you know, an electronic mail.
- 41:49SPEAKER_14: Technically, does it does it only exist on the computer?
- 41:51SPEAKER_14: Oh, good point.
- 41:52SPEAKER_17: Or does it exist?
- 41:54SPEAKER_17: That's what E stands for in email.
- 41:55SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 41:56SPEAKER_17: Thanks, friend.
- 41:57SPEAKER_17: You're on.
- 41:58SPEAKER_14: I'm just giving you a hard time.
- 41:59SPEAKER_17: Uh well, I was kind of looking.
- 42:01SPEAKER_17: We've got I've got several.
- 42:02SPEAKER_17: Um, we I think did we do the one about the no plans for kids summer vacation?
- 42:06SPEAKER_17: We did that one last time.
- 42:08SPEAKER_14: Yeah, I got really off topic, but I think we got some good kids on there.
- 42:11SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I think we got the point out.
- 42:13SPEAKER_17: Um so this one, this one comes from Ricky, and uh, and you know, it's I don't know why, but dating has uh in my forefront, maybe because it's springtime.
- 42:25SPEAKER_14: Springtime, we're in that kind of like you want to get out there.
- 42:28SPEAKER_14: Yeah, people are wearing shorts.
- 42:31SPEAKER_17: Okay.
- 42:34SPEAKER_14: You know, shorts.
- 42:35SPEAKER_14: And speaking of springtime.
- 42:37SPEAKER_14: Nice flirting.
- 42:38SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 42:39SPEAKER_17: Flirting.
- 42:40SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I like to flirt.
- 42:41SPEAKER_17: Okay, okay.
- 42:41SPEAKER_17: All right.
- 42:42SPEAKER_17: This is uh comes from Ricky and he says, help.
- 42:44SPEAKER_17: No, he didn't say it that way.
- 42:46SPEAKER_17: He said help.
- 42:46SPEAKER_17: Help.
- 42:47SPEAKER_17: Help me.
- 42:47SPEAKER_17: Help me.
- 42:48SPEAKER_17: Help.
- 42:48SPEAKER_14: A Udemy.
- 42:49SPEAKER_17: My on again, off again.
- 42:52SPEAKER_17: Oh, help with my on again, off again is what he says.
- 42:55SPEAKER_17: Oh and I don't think it's well, never mind.
- 42:58SPEAKER_17: I'm gonna just see what I was thinking.
- 43:00SPEAKER_14: Relationship-wise.
- 43:01SPEAKER_17: Yeah, there you go, thank you.
- 43:02SPEAKER_14: Uh I suppose there is no set rule for dating, but my ex and I have been on and off for about six months.
- 43:09SPEAKER_14: Every day, there are times I think we're over.
- 43:13SPEAKER_14: But nope.
- 43:14SPEAKER_14: Uh but hope to hear from her.
- 43:16SPEAKER_14: Sometimes I think it's best we part ways, and other times it kills me thinking about not seeing her.
- 43:20SPEAKER_14: We bicker, but don't yell at each other.
- 43:23SPEAKER_14: But there are many reasons we're not very compatible, and yet we keep coming back to each other.
- 43:27SPEAKER_14: Do you think instability of breaking it off is a clear sign we should end it permanently?
- 43:32SPEAKER_14: Or the fact that we keep circling back to one another is a sign we should commit to each other.
- 43:36SPEAKER_14: Signed Ricky.
- 43:38SPEAKER_14: Like walking in the rain and the snow and this no place to go.
- 43:43SPEAKER_14: Yeah, isn't that true?
- 43:44SPEAKER_14: That is so love.
- 43:46SPEAKER_14: Um my feeling is uh if there's something about the other person that really drives you to still be with them, I mean, pay attention to the instability and the indifferences and and the possible abuse.
- 44:01SPEAKER_14: Um, but uh if you keep ending up together and there's you make each other genuinely happy, I think that's something that deserves recognition too.
- 44:09SPEAKER_17: Yeah, and if it's not a fighting relationship I mean, you didn't talk about fighting, you didn't talk about it.
- 44:14SPEAKER_14: I wonder, I wonder, because me and my boyfriend have been together for five years now, and it was like there were lots of points where we could have broken up, but we were always just like, I like you too much, we can get through this.
- 44:25SPEAKER_14: So this doesn't even sound like yeah, like they're breaking up and they they're throwing vases at each other.
- 44:30SPEAKER_14: It just kind of sounds like almost a normal evolution.
- 44:34SPEAKER_17: Well, I like what you said about yeah, we like each other too much, let's we can get through this.
- 44:38SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 44:39SPEAKER_17: Um and I think I think that's probably, I would say once again, because I think I've said this before.
- 44:46SPEAKER_17: Communication.
- 44:47SPEAKER_13: Communication.
- 44:48SPEAKER_17: Sit down, talk.
- 44:49SPEAKER_17: See what direction she wants to go.
- 44:51SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 44:52SPEAKER_14: Sit down and like just have a painfully obvious conversation.
- 44:57SPEAKER_14: Say what you want out of the relationship.
- 45:00SPEAKER_14: Don't make any assumptions.
- 45:01SPEAKER_14: Don't assume they know what you want.
- 45:04SPEAKER_14: You gotta sit down and say it all to the point where they're like, okay, Captain Obvious.
- 45:08SPEAKER_14: You know what I mean?
- 45:09SPEAKER_14: Get it all out on the table.
- 45:10SPEAKER_14: And remember that your feelings, if you feel offended by them, if you feel hurt by them or whatever, that's a valid feeling.
- 45:17SPEAKER_14: It also doesn't mean you have to be mean back.
- 45:20SPEAKER_14: You can just let them know, hey, I did not like that without fueling the fire more.
- 45:25SPEAKER_17: I suggest he, when he does, goes to do that, and he to keep it on a light note that he dresses up like Frankenfurter.
- 45:33SPEAKER_14: That oh, that is the way into any woman's heart.
- 45:36SPEAKER_12: There you go.
- 45:38SPEAKER_12: Beautiful.
- 45:39SPEAKER_12: He likes guys, I'll I'll call Derek.
- 45:40SPEAKER_12: You like guys, fishnek stocking.
- 45:43SPEAKER_14: I've been trying to well, who does it?
- 45:44SPEAKER_14: You got a nice pair of legs.
- 45:47SPEAKER_14: I'm not gonna discriminate.
- 45:48SPEAKER_14: Anyway, good luck, Ricky.
- 45:51SPEAKER_16: You have been listening to ask Renan David articulated, well thought out answers to your well-articulated thought-out questions.
- 46:00SPEAKER_18: Wake it up, wake it up, wake it up!
- 46:02SPEAKER_16: If you would like your questions answered, email the generalswakeupcall at gmail.com.
- 46:11SPEAKER_16: We're up, baby.
- 46:13SPEAKER_17: So, you know what we've only got what we have is the time warp left and um with Bill St.
- 46:19SPEAKER_14: James?
- 46:19SPEAKER_14: Sorry, have you heard of that radio show?
- 46:21SPEAKER_14: I have.
- 46:22SPEAKER_14: The time warp with Bill St.
- 46:24SPEAKER_14: James.
- 46:24SPEAKER_14: I love that show.
- 46:26SPEAKER_17: I wonder if we got a uh copyright from this show.
- 46:29SPEAKER_14: Sorry, yeah, it just cost us like$500 million.
- 46:32SPEAKER_17: Yeah, no kidding.
- 46:34SPEAKER_17: Um anyway, I I think uh I'm glad that we did this one.
- 46:38SPEAKER_17: It brought back some great memories to me.
- 46:41SPEAKER_17: Let's go ahead and play the time warp and then we'll come back and have a uh little discussion.
- 46:46SPEAKER_17: Actually, no, let's play the time warp and go right into Renrance.
- 46:49SPEAKER_14: Okay, sounds good.
- 46:49SPEAKER_17: And you didn't give me any clues, so I have no idea.
- 46:51SPEAKER_14: Oh, I completely forgot to give you clues.
- 46:53SPEAKER_17: Damn it, Janet.
- 46:54SPEAKER_14: You'll roo the day.
- 46:56SPEAKER_14: You didn't ask me what it was, Dave.
- 47:00SPEAKER_17: I'll rule the day.
- 47:01SPEAKER_17: Rue Roo.
- 47:02SPEAKER_14: Rue the day.
- 47:03SPEAKER_17: As in like the stuff you put in to make gumbo.
- 47:06SPEAKER_14: Rue.
- 47:06SPEAKER_17: No.
- 47:07SPEAKER_17: I know how to make a good roux.
- 47:09SPEAKER_14: Well, just think of just think of the word roux.
- 47:12SPEAKER_14: Okay, gotcha.
- 47:13SPEAKER_14: So, and just to clarify.
- 47:14SPEAKER_12: Kengaroo?
- 47:16SPEAKER_12: See, now you're I'm on very starting to open it up.
- 47:20SPEAKER_14: This is the remix, the 1989 extended version.
- 47:23SPEAKER_12: Piglet roo, what is that?
- 47:24SPEAKER_12: Piglet and roo.
- 47:26SPEAKER_14: What's another clue I can give you so you can stop asking me about roo?
- 47:30SPEAKER_14: You mentioned fishnets.
- 47:31SPEAKER_14: You mentioned uh men wearing fishnets.
- 47:35SPEAKER_17: Um my god, is it one of those?
- 47:38SPEAKER_14: Get into that zone.
- 47:40SPEAKER_17: Okay, I'm going to the zone.
- 47:42SPEAKER_17: I'm gonna go get mine.
- 47:43SPEAKER_17: I'm gonna go get mine.
- 47:44SPEAKER_14: We're gonna jump into the time one.
- 47:46SPEAKER_14: All right.
- 47:46SPEAKER_15: I would like sound.
- 47:58SPEAKER_15: Time is eating to you.
- 48:01SPEAKER_15: Madness madness takes its tall tall.
- 48:06SPEAKER_15: But listen close, close.
- 48:09unknown: Not for very much longer.
- 48:12SPEAKER_15: I find control.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: It's just a jump to the left.
- 49:16SPEAKER_00: Oh fine, so you can't stop.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: No, not at all.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: In another diamond.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: Well concluded.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: You're into the time.
- 53:24SPEAKER_16: Time for film rant with Ren.
- 53:26SPEAKER_16: Hate 'em or love 'em.
- 53:28SPEAKER_16: New or classic, Wren rants on them all.
- 53:32SPEAKER_16: Here's Ren.
- 53:35SPEAKER_14: It's gonna be another movie, or another movie.
- 53:37SPEAKER_14: It's gonna be another rant where I'm talking about a show.
- 53:40SPEAKER_14: A show.
- 53:41SPEAKER_14: A show instead of a film, but it is an example.
- 53:43SPEAKER_14: Broadway show?
- 53:44SPEAKER_14: No.
- 53:45SPEAKER_17: Really big show.
- 53:46SPEAKER_14: Uh show on VH1, I think it's on now.
- 53:50SPEAKER_14: Um, it is a very glamorous show, so it fits into the sort of Hollywood ideal.
- 53:54SPEAKER_14: It's RuPaul's Drag Race.
- 53:56SPEAKER_14: I knew you did.
- 53:57SPEAKER_12: You know, we talked about it last week, I forgot.
- 53:58SPEAKER_12: Yeah, RuPaul's.
- 53:59SPEAKER_14: No, that's totally okay.
- 54:00SPEAKER_14: Yeah, RuPaul.
- 54:01SPEAKER_14: I I don't know too much of the history of RuPaul.
- 54:04SPEAKER_14: I know that he was probably one of the first, like, big drag queens to make it more mainstream.
- 54:09SPEAKER_17: Yeah, he was uh he he he was the uh pioneer.
- 54:13SPEAKER_17: Pioneer, yeah.
- 54:14SPEAKER_14: Truly.
- 54:15SPEAKER_14: He's looking good today, too.
- 54:17SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 54:17SPEAKER_14: It's like he hasn't dagged Dine.
- 54:19SPEAKER_14: Daged Dine.
- 54:20SPEAKER_12: Daged Dine.
- 54:21SPEAKER_14: Yeah, good job, Rue.
- 54:22SPEAKER_14: You haven't dagged Dine.
- 54:25SPEAKER_14: It's um RuPaul's Drag Race is a blast of a show.
- 54:28SPEAKER_14: I haven't watched some of the earlier seasons.
- 54:29SPEAKER_14: Um you can tell those earlier seasons had a slightly lower budget, I think just because they thought it was a risk at the time.
- 54:37SPEAKER_14: Um, but then it exploded in popularity, and now it's all over all over the pop culture state.
- 54:44SPEAKER_14: Oh, it's a good thing.
- 54:45SPEAKER_14: Like, no tea, no shade, no pink lemonade.
- 54:48SPEAKER_14: I was saying that earlier, and Tave's like, what?
- 54:51SPEAKER_14: There's little phrases that come from it.
- 54:53SPEAKER_14: Um it's an inherently dramatic profession, right?
- 54:58SPEAKER_14: It's almost like, I don't want to compare it to clowning, because it's not really that.
- 55:02SPEAKER_14: They're not trying to look goofy, they're trying to look like gorgeous women, and they succeed many times.
- 55:08SPEAKER_14: Um, like kabuki theater, you know, all the there's no women in kabuki theater, so all the guys have to dress up like girls.
- 55:14SPEAKER_14: It's um they're performers, a lot of them are dancers, incredible makeup artists, incredible costumers.
- 55:20SPEAKER_14: Some of them are just hilarious.
- 55:22SPEAKER_14: Um, it shows you how diverse the the drag queen community is.
- 55:25SPEAKER_14: You know, you could go to a drag show and just be like entertained by the awesome choreography, or you could be entertained because the drag queen brings up a puppet and does a hilarious routine.
- 55:34SPEAKER_14: Um they're just like entertainers and uh it's a very it's a very uh gossipy, dramatic uh field too.
- 55:43SPEAKER_14: So the drama, if you want a reality show with lots of drama, that's a good one too.
- 55:48SPEAKER_14: And you don't feel so bad because the I don't know.
- 55:52SPEAKER_14: I'm sure nobody likes to be portrayed poorly on TV, but I feel like these are these are divas and they're standing up for themselves or standing up for theirs.
- 55:59SPEAKER_14: I don't have a lot of that.
- 56:00SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 56:01SPEAKER_17: There's a there's a ch I used to tell people that didn't like my radio show.
- 56:04SPEAKER_14: Uh-huh.
- 56:05SPEAKER_17: There's a knob.
- 56:06SPEAKER_17: There's a knob.
- 56:07SPEAKER_17: You can change the channel.
- 56:08SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 56:08SPEAKER_17: So yeah.
- 56:09SPEAKER_14: You can also turn it off.
- 56:10SPEAKER_17: That's right.
- 56:11SPEAKER_14: I love RuPaul's drag race.
- 56:12SPEAKER_14: I think there's a lot of really talented young gay men on there, and I think RuPaul absolutely does it as a as a platform to get the uh I'm gonna reveal a deep dark secret that I I don't think I've ever told anybody.
- 56:25SPEAKER_14: Well, you've told me you were fishness, so I'm guessing it can't be too bad.
- 56:28SPEAKER_17: Um my uncle, uh one of my dad's brothers, um, I think it was his younger one of his younger brothers, or no, older brother, dad was the baby, so it was an older brother, was a um uh a producer in California.
- 56:44SPEAKER_17: And he had uh a uh drag review team that he produced and that direct and I don't know if he directed, but that he definitely sponsored.
- 56:56SPEAKER_17: And my grandmother, who is uh uh born in and raised in Texas, yes, and uh you know worked as a farmer, poor dirt farmer, you know, it was just you couldn't be anymore.
- 57:15SPEAKER_17: Goes to visit my uncle.
- 57:17SPEAKER_17: And and I wish I would could have recorded the story of her explaining the show because she goes, first she says to me, you know, Dave, those were the prettiest women I have ever seen.
- 57:30SPEAKER_17: And I said, Really, Grandma?
- 57:33SPEAKER_17: And she goes, now wait though.
- 57:35SPEAKER_17: And then so um Junior, yeah, I was Junior.
- 57:38SPEAKER_17: And Junior tells me, Mom, those are men.
- 57:42SPEAKER_17: You know what, Dave?
- 57:43SPEAKER_17: Those were the prettiest men I've ever seen.
- 57:46SPEAKER_14: Oh, bless her.
- 57:47SPEAKER_14: It's it's hard when you see this beautiful, talented performer in front of you dressed like a gorgeous woman, and not be charmed.
- 57:57SPEAKER_17: The longest, shapeliest legs I have ever seen.
- 58:00SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah?
- 58:01SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah.
- 58:01SPEAKER_14: Boys, don't be afraid to show show off your pretty.
- 58:04SPEAKER_14: Anyway, I totally suggest RuPaul's drag race if you're into reality shows and and really creative, talented people.
- 58:11SPEAKER_17: Tantastic, I love it.
- 58:16SPEAKER_16: Be listening each week for yet another ranting with Rin.
- 58:20SPEAKER_17: And you, sweetheart, you are just playing mean.
- 58:22SPEAKER_14: She's relentless.
- 58:25SPEAKER_17: I thought that was kind of cute.
- 58:26SPEAKER_14: Yeah, me too.
- 58:27SPEAKER_14: I like that.
- 58:27SPEAKER_14: No, sweetheart, you're just playing mean.
- 58:29SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 58:29SPEAKER_14: I like that one.
- 58:31SPEAKER_14: But you're not.
- 58:32SPEAKER_14: Thanks.
- 58:33SPEAKER_14: I I like to think I'm not.
- 58:34SPEAKER_17: I think I also tell the story about my grandmother coming in one time in her 80s, and we were all sitting around talking.
- 58:40SPEAKER_17: She comes, it was on a Sunday, and we were visiting, uh, and she comes running in, and my uncle goes, Well, grandma, where are you going?
- 58:48SPEAKER_17: And she goes, Oh, we're going to the church to sing to the old people.
- 58:52SPEAKER_17: She's 83.
- 58:54SPEAKER_14: Wait, yeah, I was about to say, wait a minute.
- 58:56SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 58:56SPEAKER_14: Your grandma?
- 58:57SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 58:58SPEAKER_17: What how old were the people she was going to sing to?
- 59:04SPEAKER_14: She's going to the museum.
- 59:06SPEAKER_14: She was gonna go sing to the uh the caveman.
- 59:08SPEAKER_17: Yeah, something.
- 59:09SPEAKER_17: I don't know.
- 59:10SPEAKER_17: It was it was funny though.
- 59:11SPEAKER_17: It's cute.
- 59:11SPEAKER_14: That's very cute.
- 59:12SPEAKER_14: Very cute.
- 59:13SPEAKER_14: What a cool lady.
- 59:15SPEAKER_17: She also did the one with the beans.
- 59:16SPEAKER_17: I figured did I tell you this story about her beans and her made the beans?
- 59:19SPEAKER_17: My aunt and uncle were on a good diet, and my grandmother always made beans with fat back.
- 59:24SPEAKER_17: You know, beans put fat back in them.
- 59:25SPEAKER_17: Yeah, I've heard of that.
- 59:27SPEAKER_17: Yeah, for flavor.
- 59:28SPEAKER_17: And so they asked her to quit putting the fat back in the beans because they were on a diet.
- 59:33SPEAKER_17: So you couldn't tell you couldn't tell Grandma Lily not to put fat back in the beans.
- 59:38SPEAKER_17: They worked during the day, they would come home and they would eat the beans.
- 59:42SPEAKER_17: And I and I was visiting one time, and you know, the beans were fantastic, right?
- 59:46SPEAKER_17: So uh my aunt Lola goes, Hey, um, Grandma, I don't know how you do it, but these beans are just as good as the other ones.
- 59:54SPEAKER_14: And so just sits there with a smile on her face.
- 59:58SPEAKER_14: Exactly.
- 59:59SPEAKER_17: So um so they they go do their thing, and I stay with grandma and we're sitting there talking, she goes, Don't you ever tell anybody, but I put fat back in those, and when they get home, I before they get home, I pull it out and throw it away.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_17: So they don't know.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_14: Oh, bless her.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_17: Yeah.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_14: I'm kind of on the pro-fat team.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_14: I hear that that some of those fats are really good for you.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_14: Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_14: Not too much, obviously.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_17: Yeah, everything in moderation.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_14: Yeah, but in a healthy amount, it's good for your brain, skin.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_17: Not to get totally off a subject, but you know, I've been on a weight loss.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_17: This shirt that I'm wearing is a shirt that I haven't worn in years.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_17: It's looking good.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_17: Well, it's got some tears, it's got some wear on it.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_17: It gives a character.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_17: I wore it today because I I I put it on and I thought it fits parts.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_17: Clouds parted.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_17: Exactly.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_17: Save it meals.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_17: So I have been, and you know, they had donuts sitting here, and typically the first thing I would do would be grab a donut, but did you see me grab a donut?
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_14: Oh yeah, he almost was like offended.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_14: He's like, I can't have any of this.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_14: Not rude, but like, why are you testing me, Julie?
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_17: Oh well, it is what it is.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_14: He did, though.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_14: He he stayed away.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_14: I can't confirm.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_17: All right, well, this has been a great series.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_17: I really like it's a two-show series.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_17: I really liked uh reliving the show itself, and I do I think I'm gonna talk to the folks at the powers to be at our local theater and see if we can't get it in to like maybe the old Allen downtown or I know.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_14: I have such the one that's right down the street from us.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_14: Oh, I have such strong feelings about that place.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_14: But if I'm not mistaken, it just has some structural problems because one time some people broke in and they didn't put any of the boards back, so like a whole population of pigeons got in there.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_14: And so it's not so much just a matter of even exterminating them at this point because there's so much damage in the top.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_14: I know, but my fingers crossed that you know something happened.

- 1:03:57SPEAKER_14: Okay, cool.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_14: Except the general, what?
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_14: Is the general like 5% more powerful?

- 1:04:30SPEAKER_14: If we listened to it, I would by the end be sobbing.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_17: I love West Side Story.
