- 0:00Speaker 1: Believe it. It's Hudson Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I say believe it because I'm talking to Derek Dooley.
- 0:06Speaker 1: He could not believe that Clay Travis has a firm,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Clay Travis Law. It's true. Accidents don't wait for a
- 0:12Speaker 1: great time. One bad moment, a wreck, a fall, a
- 0:14Speaker 1: doctor who wasn't paying attention. And suddenly you're fighting an
- 0:17Speaker 1: insurance company that does this every single day. That's why
- 0:20Speaker 1: Clay started Clay Travis Law. A Vanderbilt Law grad. And
- 0:25Speaker 1: he built a firm around an idea that people deserve
- 0:27Speaker 1: someone willing to pay attention to ask the hard questions
- 0:31Speaker 1: and push back when things don't add up. This is
- 0:34Speaker 1: experience with trial attorneys who bring the fight to corporations
- 0:38Speaker 1: and insurers and based in Nashville and Chad trusted across
- 0:42Speaker 1: the country. That's right.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Car and truck wrecks, ride share accidents, medical malpractice, premises, liability,
- 0:47Speaker 2: product liability. If you were wrong, they want to hear
- 0:49Speaker 2: about it. Here's they promise honesty. They don't sugarcoat your case.
- 0:53Speaker 2: You'll hear what it's actually worth. Not what you want
- 0:55Speaker 2: to hear. The case evaluation is free. No charge, no pressure,
- 0:58Speaker 2: no hassle. Just tell them your story. Go to claytravislaw.com
- 1:01Speaker 2: or call 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com. No case is too big
- 1:09Speaker 2: or too small.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Chad, we're about to begin your top 10 games of
- 1:13Speaker 1: the college football weekend. You have a great idea. We
- 1:16Speaker 1: got some feedback from last week with the fight songs.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I'm going to explain what you thought of. And I
- 1:22Speaker 1: think it's a great concept, which I'm going to select
- 1:25Speaker 1: from in real time as you get through your top
- 1:28Speaker 1: 10 games.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So back in the day with Clay Travis on a
- 1:32Speaker 2: local radio station, we had hate mail with Hutton where
- 1:35Speaker 2: Clay would submit some of the most vile stuff that
- 1:38Speaker 2: he got on Twitter, on Facebook and email, whatever it was.
- 1:43Speaker 2: of ripping Clay and hating him, which Clay has numerous haters,
- 1:46Speaker 2: as we all know. And Hutton would read it in
- 1:49Speaker 2: dramatic reading fashion, very powerfully, almost like, you know, Charlton
- 1:55Speaker 2: Heston reading from the Old Testament was Hutton reading those
- 1:58Speaker 2: hate mail with Hutton to Clay. So the idea is
- 2:03Speaker 2: we're going to take one of these fight songs, because
- 2:05Speaker 2: Hutton did this last week, and Hutton will do a
- 2:07Speaker 2: dramatic reading of the lyrics of the most ridiculous fight
- 2:11Speaker 2: song each week that he can find. I think that
- 2:14Speaker 2: explains it well, right?
- 2:15Speaker 1: I just found a link to Hate Mail with Hutton
- 2:18Speaker 1: from back in the day. Okay. From 13 years ago. Yes.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I'm sending it to the group. We don't have to
- 2:24Speaker 1: play it today, but this is an example we could
- 2:26Speaker 1: get to and show. I don't even know what this
- 2:31Speaker 1: is going to be about, but it's got Clay in
- 2:33Speaker 1: the back of a car making it rain with the
- 2:36Speaker 1: money gun. I don't know if that's the open to
- 2:38Speaker 1: the video.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Clay had no white in his beard at that point.
- 2:42Speaker 2: in that Hutton didn't have a beer at that point.
- 2:45Speaker 2: It would have no white in it either, no salt
- 2:46Speaker 2: and pepper at all. Very different 13 years ago for
- 2:49Speaker 2: all of us.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Yes. What is routine and consistent? Not very different, but
- 2:57Speaker 1: always great is Chad's top 10 games of the college
- 3:00Speaker 1: football weekend with very different matchups this week that are great, Chad.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Hutton, a week ago, I mean, I probably got to
- 3:07Speaker 2: eight games and then really had to stretch for those
- 3:10Speaker 2: last two. There were kind of seven, eight no-brainers. This week,
- 3:14Speaker 2: I ended up writing down 13 games that were under
- 3:17Speaker 2: consideration for my games of the week, and I landed
- 3:20Speaker 2: on these 10. And I tell you what, it's much
- 3:22Speaker 2: better than it was in week one when you look
- 3:24Speaker 2: at this slate of games.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Much, much better.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Let's start with game number 10, the Arizona Wildcats on
- 3:30Speaker 2: the road to take on the BYU Cougars. BYU ranked
- 3:32Speaker 2: 15th nationally overall. a 7.5-point home favorite this game at
- 3:37Speaker 2: 3.30 Eastern time on Fox. Northern Arizona and Utah Tech,
- 3:42Speaker 2: those were the two opponents for Arizona and BYU in
- 3:46Speaker 2: Week 1. They rolled. They looked really good. Now it
- 3:50Speaker 2: gets real for both of these teams. Can Arizona get
- 3:53Speaker 2: over the hump in this game and get back to
- 3:55Speaker 2: where they were a couple of years ago in the
- 3:57Speaker 2: Big 12? Big test for them on the road in Provo. Arizona,
- 4:02Speaker 2: their defense looked good, obviously, against bad competition, but They've
- 4:06Speaker 2: got to make Bear Bachmeier one-dimensional. And by making him one-dimensional,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I mean stop the run. He's more of a running
- 4:12Speaker 2: threat than a passing threat. They need to make him
- 4:14Speaker 2: prove it through the air if they're going to have
- 4:16Speaker 2: a shot in this game against BYU. Game number nine.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Yes, totally agree. I'm going with Bachmeier here, by the way,
- 4:23Speaker 1: just based on the name.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Bear Bachmeier is an all-time name. Game number nine. Iowa
- 4:28Speaker 2: State at number 21, Iowa. The Hawkeyes a two-touchdown favorite
- 4:32Speaker 2: in this one. 7.30 Eastern time on NBC. NBC, looking
- 4:36Speaker 2: at week one ratings, dominated. They had a great doubleheader
- 4:39Speaker 2: that capped with Western Michigan and Michigan. And the Wisconsin-Notre
- 4:43Speaker 2: Dame game Sunday night blew Ole Miss Louisville out of
- 4:46Speaker 2: the water in terms of ratings. So kudos to NBC
- 4:50Speaker 2: for a good start to the season. Is this going
- 4:52Speaker 2: to be another game that delivers for them in the
- 4:54Speaker 2: Cy Hawk rivalry game? Head coach Jimmy Rogers. They go
- 4:58Speaker 2: from Matt Campbell to Jimmy Rogers at Iowa State. They're
- 5:01Speaker 2: going for the most basic names possible. that you could
- 5:05Speaker 2: find for their head coaches. It worked for Matt Campbell.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Will it work for him? Cyclones, they're going to have
- 5:10Speaker 2: to sell out to stop the run. That means Hank
- 5:12Speaker 2: Brown or Jeremy Hiklinski, whoever the quarterback is for Iowa
- 5:16Speaker 2: in the game, they're going to have some opportunities.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Through the year. This is my matchup, Chad, for fight
- 5:22Speaker 1: song versus fight song. Can I jump in?
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yes, let's do it.
- 5:25Speaker 1: We start with Iowa State. I'm just going to quote everything. Oh,
- 5:28Speaker 1: we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may
- 5:32Speaker 1: her colors ever fly. Yes, we will fight with might
- 5:36Speaker 1: for Iowa State with a will to do or die. Rah, rah, rah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Loyal sons forever true. And we will fight the battle through.
- 5:45Speaker 1: When we hit that line, we hit it hard every
- 5:48Speaker 1: yard for ISU. I like that.
- 5:51Speaker 2: That was good. Move over Kyle Chandler and that Friday
- 5:54Speaker 2: Night Lights voiceover. I think that Iowa State, that song
- 5:57Speaker 2: from Hutton right there may have been even better. I'm
- 5:59Speaker 2: fired up. I'm charged up for the CyHot game, Hutton.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Will I get charged up for game number eight? You're
- 6:05Speaker 2: damn right I will.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Hey, wait, wait. Here's Iowa. Here's Iowa. Oh, okay.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Very similar. This is why this is the matchup. Remember,
- 6:12Speaker 1: this fight, fight. Quote. There's Iowa fight song. The word
- 6:17Speaker 1: is fight, fight, fight for Iowa. Let every loyal Iowan sing.
- 6:23Speaker 1: The word is fight, fight, fight for Iowa. Until the
- 6:26Speaker 1: walls and rafters ring. Go Hawks. Come on and cheer, cheer,
- 6:29Speaker 1: cheer for Iowa. Come on and cheer until you hear
- 6:32Speaker 1: the final gun. The word is fight, fight, fight for
- 6:35Speaker 1: Iowa until the game is won. It's a damn good matchup.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Battle for battle here.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Do you think in 1910 there was one dude who
- 6:43Speaker 2: wrote all the fight songs, especially in the Midwest, and
- 6:46Speaker 2: he just went from Iowa to Iowa State? He's like, oh,
- 6:49Speaker 2: let's do something just similar but a little bit different,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and we'll change up the words because... Those sounded pretty
- 6:54Speaker 2: much identical to me.
- 6:57Speaker 1: They also have a loyal hymn at Iowa. That's the tiebreaker.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It's not the Battle Hymn of the Republic, but it's
- 7:03Speaker 1: called the Old Gold Hymn. I will give the fight
- 7:07Speaker 1: to Iowa here, Chad.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Next week, Hutton will sing the hymns from each school
- 7:13Speaker 2: as we go through.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I wonder if we could play the music, and it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: like karaoke for me.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Hutton in a strong baritone. We'll bring you the Mississippi
- 7:22Speaker 2: State hymn. The Oak Ridge Boys will sing the hymn
- 7:25Speaker 2: of Mississippi State.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:27Speaker 2: The Oak Ridge Boys would fit, even though Alabama, their
- 7:31Speaker 2: guy from Alabama, too, could also.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Fit with a Mississippi State one.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Mississippi State at Minnesota, SEC versus Big Ten. A few
- 7:38Speaker 2: of these SEC versus Big Ten matchups. Clay Travis wants
- 7:41Speaker 2: an SEC Big Ten challenge. He got a little bit
- 7:44Speaker 2: of one this week. with some different games. I like
- 7:46Speaker 2: this matchup. Minnesota, one and a half point favorite. This
- 7:50Speaker 2: game is at 3.30 Eastern time on CBS. Two special
- 7:53Speaker 2: quarterbacks are going head to head. Nobody's talking about it.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor is a dude. He looked incredible in week
- 8:00Speaker 2: one for Mississippi State. Bigger test now on the road
- 8:03Speaker 2: against Minnesota. And Drake Lindsey, really good pro prospect for
- 8:07Speaker 2: Minnesota at quarterback. I think this has the makings of
- 8:11Speaker 2: a terrific game. Hutton, give me steak. I think Mississippi
- 8:14Speaker 2: State goes on the road and gets it done. Jeff Lebby,
- 8:17Speaker 2: if you remember a year ago, got off to a
- 8:18Speaker 2: really good start and the bottom fell out right around
- 8:21Speaker 2: the time they lost to Tennessee at home in overtime.
- 8:24Speaker 2: They had the game one against Texas and they lose
- 8:26Speaker 2: that one. Also, he needs a good year this year.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I think this is going to be the start of
- 8:31Speaker 2: his good season with Kamario Taylor.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I'm following you on this because you've been strong on
- 8:36Speaker 1: this all offseason. I will say during the regular season,
- 8:38Speaker 1: I'm taking Mississippi State. This also could be a Music
- 8:41Speaker 1: City Bowl matchup. I'm not knocking the bowl. This is
- 8:43Speaker 1: one of the better ones. This feels like a Music
- 8:45Speaker 1: City Bowl matchup where I would take Minnesota in that matchup. Here,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I'm taking Mississippi State.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Minnesota you never bet against in the Music City Bowl
- 8:53Speaker 2: because you know they're going to be highly motivated for it.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Postseason, right.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm also reluctant to take Minnesota in anything because P.J.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Fleck's not allowed to make his guys run bleachers, as
- 9:03Speaker 2: we found out, that it was a strong penalty for
- 9:06Speaker 2: any type of punishment by exercise that Minnesota levied against them.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I'm not hearing much about rowing anymore. Not as much row, row,
- 9:13Speaker 2: row the boat, that's for sure. The Mississippi River does
- 9:16Speaker 2: flow through Minneapolis also. So he could be rowing the
- 9:19Speaker 2: boat right there. Game number seven. This is Big 12
- 9:22Speaker 2: taking on the SEC. Arizona State at Texas A & M.
- 9:26Speaker 2: The Aggies, a 14.5-point favorite, noon Eastern time on ESPN.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Our guy Jacob Lutz knows about cutter bowling, former Kentucky quarterback.
- 9:36Speaker 2: He went to Arizona State. He looked terrific in Week
- 9:39Speaker 2: 1 against Morgan State, against an opponent, Hutton, that came
- 9:43Speaker 2: to Kenny Dillingham in the fourth quarter and said, can
- 9:47Speaker 2: we make this a 10-minute quarter?
- 9:49Speaker 1: And he did.
- 9:49Speaker 2: He said, sure, we'll oblige whatever you need. That's how
- 9:52Speaker 2: bad the route was, that they shortened the quarters and
- 9:54Speaker 2: shortened the game as it went along. It was the
- 9:57Speaker 2: equivalent of the high school football running block.
- 9:59Speaker 1: I was going to say. that we've seen.
- 10:01Speaker 2: That's what Morgan State requested. And Kenny Dillingham was like, sure,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I get it. We'll do that. We'll shorten the game
- 10:06Speaker 2: for you. That's how good Cutter Boley looked against Morgan State.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Texas A & M looked good in week one, too. Again,
- 10:12Speaker 2: another game with the first real test for both these teams.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Can Kenny Dillingham... get Arizona State to where they were
- 10:18Speaker 2: when Sam Leavitt was healthy a couple of years ago
- 10:21Speaker 2: and they get to the college football playoff? Or is
- 10:24Speaker 2: this more of the same from a year ago for
- 10:26Speaker 2: this Sun Devils team? If they can go on the
- 10:28Speaker 2: road and challenge Texas A & M in this game,
- 10:30Speaker 2: it's going to say a lot about Arizona State's chances
- 10:33Speaker 2: in the Big 12.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yes, and this is where I'm going A & M.
- 10:39Speaker 1: This is where I feel like A & M normally
- 10:41Speaker 1: has a little hiccup, though. Like the Miami game from
- 10:43Speaker 1: like two or three years ago, where it was like
- 10:45Speaker 1: 17-7 final. I'm sticking with Lucci, his group here.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Hutton, we'll have to check the record books to go
- 10:51Speaker 2: back into the annals of the top 10 games of
- 10:53Speaker 2: the week. But I think right now I've got the
- 10:55Speaker 2: first ever game that's on the USA Network to appear
- 10:59Speaker 2: in the top 10 games. Are you ready for this one?
- 11:03Speaker 2: This is the Burn Notice Special. I'm trying to think
- 11:06Speaker 2: of other great USA.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Mr.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Robot Special. Is it a white-collar game, Chad? What's the
- 11:13Speaker 2: programming on USA called? Blue Skies Programming. all happy, all bright.
- 11:18Speaker 2: That's what we get. The Blue Skies game of the
- 11:20Speaker 2: week on the USA Network is on a blue turf, Hutton.
- 11:24Speaker 2: It is Memphis at Boise State. The Broncos, an 8.5-point favorite,
- 11:29Speaker 2: 6 o'clock Eastern kickoff on USA. You think Boise State.
- 11:34Speaker 2: You think Memphis in the past with Mike Norvell and
- 11:36Speaker 2: others as head coach. You think passing offense. You think
- 11:39Speaker 2: a lot of scoring. These teams can score a lot.
- 11:41Speaker 2: They're going to do it on the ground. This is
- 11:43Speaker 2: an old-school, physical, smash-mouth football game. Boise State's got the
- 11:47Speaker 2: two-headed monster at running back, Charles Huff at Memphis. He
- 11:51Speaker 2: is establishing his identity as pound the rock, baby. We
- 11:55Speaker 2: are 4-4-4. Get your first down. They physically dominated UNLV
- 11:59Speaker 2: up front in that big win in the second half.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Offensive line, defensive line. This is going to be an
- 12:04Speaker 2: old-school smash-mouth football game between Memphis and Boise State. Big
- 12:08Speaker 2: group of five game in this one, Hunt. I can't
- 12:11Speaker 2: wait to watch. And the winner of this one I
- 12:14Speaker 2: think is going to have a nice little shot if
- 12:16Speaker 2: they run the table and do some things of being
- 12:18Speaker 2: that college football playoff rep from that group.
- 12:21Speaker 1: This is a part of my parlay on Hard Rock Bet.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I've got Memphis. I teased it down. I teased it up,
- 12:26Speaker 1: excuse me, where I think I have them at like
- 12:29Speaker 1: plus 12.5 or something. And I reduced the Vols down
- 12:33Speaker 1: to 10. I like the Tigers. And again, they can
- 12:37Speaker 1: go toe-to-toe. We saw them score for scoring as UNLV.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Absolutely. Game number five, Hutton, a game played tonight, actually.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Number 23, Missouri at Kansas. I'm guessing our guy Timmy
- 12:46Speaker 2: B is going to be on the call this Friday
- 12:48Speaker 2: night game. 7 o'clock Central Time kickoff on Fox. Missouri
- 12:52Speaker 2: with Austin Simmons. Missouri is always that forgotten team in
- 12:56Speaker 2: the SEC. One that we know is going to be
- 12:58Speaker 2: pretty good, but we're not really thinking about them as
- 13:00Speaker 2: a playoff contender or a team that's going to make
- 13:03Speaker 2: a lot of noise. I kind of feel that way
- 13:05Speaker 2: about Missouri this year. It is not a big lineup.
- 13:08Speaker 2: in this game. It's only five and a half, Missouri favored.
- 13:12Speaker 2: This is one of my bets of the week that
- 13:14Speaker 2: we're going to get to. Hunt, in fact, I have
- 13:17Speaker 2: three games I'm going with on Friday night. There's some
- 13:20Speaker 2: good games with Friday night college football tonight, but Missouri
- 13:24Speaker 2: at Kansas, big one for both teams, but I think
- 13:27Speaker 2: Missouri goes in and gets it done.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I'm taking Missouri just because I know more about them.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I feel like Kansas is probably the play I should
- 13:36Speaker 1: have gone earlier in the week. because Missouri fans hate us,
- 13:42Speaker 1: and we might as well just keep that going. We
- 13:44Speaker 1: might as well be their Lane Kiffin.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll be your punching bag. I mean, LSU fans
- 13:48Speaker 2: hate me now, so let's just tick off other SEC
- 13:51Speaker 2: fan bases. And even though the game's not played in Missouri,
- 13:53Speaker 2: let's go ahead and make fun of the fact that
- 13:55Speaker 2: you've got a rock formation in the end zone. There's
- 13:57Speaker 2: a reason why. And that's ridiculous. You know what real
- 14:01Speaker 2: football programs have in their end zone?
- 14:03Speaker 1: Bleachers. They have seats.
- 14:07Speaker 2: They don't have a football facility. Sorry, Mississippi State. They
- 14:10Speaker 2: don't have a state-of-the-art football facility, and they don't have
- 14:13Speaker 2: rocks in their end zones.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Sweets in their end zones.
- 14:16Speaker 2: They have seats for fans. That's what they have. Game
- 14:20Speaker 2: number four. Two Jacob Lutz references in one segment.
- 14:23Speaker 1: How about that?
- 14:24Speaker 2: Number 12, Alabama at unranked Kentucky. Will Stein would have
- 14:29Speaker 2: you believe otherwise about this Kentucky Wildcats team. 3.30 Eastern
- 14:33Speaker 2: time on ABC. I've had multiple people come up to me,
- 14:36Speaker 2: whether it be at my daughter's softball practice, out at
- 14:39Speaker 2: the gym, wherever I am. And they're not asking about
- 14:41Speaker 2: Tennessee Georgia Tech, which we'll get to. Really? They're asking me,
- 14:45Speaker 2: can Kentucky pull the upset in the first SEC game
- 14:48Speaker 2: of the season against Alabama? Tell you what, if Will
- 14:52Speaker 2: Stein's swagger had anything to say about it, I think
- 14:56Speaker 2: they absolutely could pull off the upset. Jacob Lutz will
- 14:58Speaker 2: be in attendance for this one. He's going to be wasted.
- 15:01Speaker 2: It's $ 5 light beers in the stadium. Hutton, I think
- 15:06Speaker 2: it's going to be a great atmosphere. I don't think
- 15:07Speaker 2: Kentucky wins this game, but this is a big test
- 15:11Speaker 2: for Kenny Minchie as he tries to prove himself for
- 15:14Speaker 2: the first time as a starting quarterback. He passed the
- 15:16Speaker 2: test in week one against Youngstown State, passed for over
- 15:19Speaker 2: 300 yards. I can't wait to watch Alabama and Kentucky.
- 15:23Speaker 1: What did you say the spread is on this?
- 15:25Speaker 2: The spread is Alabama 10.5.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I would take the points. I think it's a tight game.
- 15:31Speaker 1: This feels a lot to me like the South Carolina
- 15:34Speaker 1: game of Bama two years ago. Was it two years
- 15:36Speaker 1: ago or last year? Two years ago. Where, I don't know,
- 15:40Speaker 1: where Kentucky's going to have a chance to win, I
- 15:43Speaker 1: think Bama wins. I just think it's tight in the fourth.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Here we go. This is one of those early season
- 15:48Speaker 1: matchups where you learn from it and you look back
- 15:51Speaker 1: and you think, man, if we had that, we'd be
- 15:52Speaker 1: playing a New Year's Day bowl game.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I feel like Kentucky's always really good early in the year, too.
- 15:58Speaker 2: especially early home games in the SEC. I don't have
- 16:01Speaker 2: the record in front of me, but it feels like
- 16:02Speaker 2: they usually play well in September when they get those
- 16:06Speaker 2: home SEC games.
- 16:07Speaker 1: The South Carolina matchup we used to always see.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm with you. If I bet this one with
- 16:12Speaker 2: Hard Rock Bet, I'm probably taking Kentucky and those points,
- 16:15Speaker 2: but Alabama to win a close game. But I'll be
- 16:18Speaker 2: watching regardless. Game number three, number 18, Tennessee at Georgia Tech,
- 16:23Speaker 2: 7 o'clock Eastern time. on ESPN. I see some analysts
- 16:28Speaker 2: saying this is the sneaky best game of the week.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Tennessee is close to a two-touchdown favorite. It's 12.5, open
- 16:35Speaker 2: at 13.5, down at 12.5. Brent Key makes all these
- 16:38Speaker 2: comments about my team is soft, we're poorly coached, we
- 16:42Speaker 2: are poorly prepared. I think his team's got the message here,
- 16:45Speaker 2: and I feel like a Brent Key coached team will
- 16:48Speaker 2: respond appropriately. They're not going to wilt. I hear that
- 16:51Speaker 2: and think, boy, it's a little early to just be
- 16:52Speaker 2: burying your team that way. But I'm sure they've been
- 16:55Speaker 2: told how bad they were in that first game, and
- 16:58Speaker 2: he probably took ownership of how bad they were too.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Georgia Tech tried to do too much offensively in that
- 17:02Speaker 2: first game. You go back and watch it, the first
- 17:04Speaker 2: series alone, they're running six, seven different formations, shifts, everything else.
- 17:09Speaker 2: There's going to be a lot of eye candy with
- 17:10Speaker 2: this new Georgia Tech offense. They need to get back
- 17:13Speaker 2: to trying to do something that works and doing it well.
- 17:16Speaker 2: That's what Tennessee does. With Josh Heupel. They have an identity.
- 17:20Speaker 2: They know what they want to do. They usually do
- 17:22Speaker 2: it pretty well.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Hutton, Tennessee looked a lot better in week one. This
- 17:26Speaker 2: is going to be their first test. Faison Brandon will
- 17:29Speaker 2: face adversity in this game. They didn't have to face
- 17:32Speaker 2: in week one. He's going to throw a pick. He's
- 17:34Speaker 2: going to fumble. Tennessee's going to give up a touchdown.
- 17:36Speaker 1: It's going to be.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Close at times.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:38Speaker 2: This is the first bit of adversity he faces. How
- 17:41Speaker 2: does he respond in this game at Georgia Tech? It's
- 17:43Speaker 2: a game both teams desperately need. You don't want to
- 17:46Speaker 2: be one and one. And have a loss on your
- 17:49Speaker 2: resume before hosting Texas if you're Tennessee. And you definitely
- 17:53Speaker 2: don't want to be 0-2 if you're Georgia Tech after
- 17:55Speaker 2: this game.
- 17:56Speaker 1: No, this is one of those must-win type games for
- 17:58Speaker 1: Georgia Tech. And same thing for Tennessee in terms of expectation. Chad,
- 18:03Speaker 1: this is my feeling on this. I'm taking the under
- 18:06Speaker 1: in this game. Because they didn't run the ball well
- 18:10Speaker 1: at Georgia Tech last week against Colorado. You had comments
- 18:14Speaker 1: from Deion. This is Brent Key coached football team. They
- 18:17Speaker 1: run the ball well at Georgia Tech. And correct me
- 18:19Speaker 1: if I'm wrong, you and I have been discussing on
- 18:21Speaker 1: the Power Hour and other places the Tennessee defensive front
- 18:24Speaker 1: versus the rest of the– you want to know about
- 18:27Speaker 1: pass rush and then just how they get up and
- 18:30Speaker 1: stuff the run. You've got different question marks, different injuries
- 18:33Speaker 1: across the offseason for Tennessee. I think Georgia Tech is
- 18:36Speaker 1: going to be pissed off for greatness up front with
- 18:38Speaker 1: the offensive line. They're just going to pound the rock.
- 18:40Speaker 1: And I think it's a low-scoring football game. And on
- 18:43Speaker 1: the road, protect your freshman quarterback if you're Tennessee. You
- 18:46Speaker 1: want to run the football too. I'm taking the under.
- 18:49Speaker 1: That's the play for me.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I like it, Hutton. And I also think the legs
- 18:53Speaker 2: of both Alberto Mendoza and Faison Brando will be key
- 18:56Speaker 2: in this game. What defense can stop the run ability
- 18:59Speaker 2: of the opposing quarterback better is going.
- 19:01Speaker 1: To be big in this one.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Game number two, number 11, Oklahoma at Michigan. Unranked Michigan
- 19:06Speaker 2: looks weird to see it at any point in time,
- 19:09Speaker 2: but that's what we're seeing now with the Wolverines team. who,
- 19:11Speaker 2: let's face it, they lost to Western Michigan, and they
- 19:14Speaker 2: got cheated an extra play. And they made that play.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Credit to Michigan for completing the Hail Mary and making
- 19:20Speaker 2: a miraculous play. But they go in 1-0. It doesn't
- 19:23Speaker 2: feel like 1-0 for Michigan. This is the big noon
- 19:26Speaker 2: kickoff on Fox this week. Oklahoma, a five-and-a-half point favorite
- 19:30Speaker 2: in this game. John Mateer. going on the road. How
- 19:33Speaker 2: does Michigan bounce back? I feel like Kyle Whittingham, with
- 19:36Speaker 2: his toughness and everything he was able to do at Utah,
- 19:39Speaker 2: this is a game where he will get his guys
- 19:41Speaker 2: to respond. Hutton, I say that, and then I watch
- 19:43Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood all week at the podium taking questions. I'm like,
- 19:47Speaker 2: this dude doesn't want to be there. I He sounds
- 19:51Speaker 2: and looks like a defeated guy who is mad at
- 19:54Speaker 2: his coach, who doesn't want to be a Michigan Wolverine anymore.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Here's my prediction after this game. Bryce Underwood won't be
- 20:01Speaker 2: the starter in the third game of the season.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 20:04Speaker 2: That's what I think is going to happen after this game.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I think they're going to move on pretty quickly with
- 20:08Speaker 2: his attitude. Does Bryce Underwood want to be there based
- 20:10Speaker 2: on the comments? We're about to find out is my answer.
- 20:14Speaker 2: We're about to find out with his performance here. How
- 20:15Speaker 2: does he react and play to the coach comments after
- 20:19Speaker 2: the way he performed, which was awful in the first matchup?
- 20:23Speaker 1: And what does Vegas know here? Because Michigan fans I've
- 20:27Speaker 1: talked to this week, diehards, expect to get their asses
- 20:29Speaker 1: kicked in this game. And it's five and a half.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And it's the coaching. There's a part of me that
- 20:36Speaker 1: says Brent Key at Georgia Tech will have a great
- 20:38Speaker 1: response to his roster because those are his dudes. And
- 20:42Speaker 1: then at Michigan, it's the opposite. But there's a reason
- 20:46Speaker 1: why I love the hire that the Wolverines made for
- 20:49Speaker 1: the football department in the future of their program. I
- 20:53Speaker 1: believe Michigan is going to play very well here. And
- 20:58Speaker 1: it's just because of the bounce back and the pissed
- 21:00Speaker 1: off for greatness aspect that has been the talk in
- 21:03Speaker 1: their bubble. And I have a weird feeling that Bryce Underwood,
- 21:07Speaker 1: when he's just like, cool, cool. We're about to find
- 21:09Speaker 1: out if he's just an outright killer when it comes
- 21:13Speaker 1: to the mentality. Or if it's more video game chill, whatever,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I want to bounce. And this is a primetime matchup.
- 21:23Speaker 1: This is where he should ball out with all eyes
- 21:25Speaker 1: on him instead of taking it for granted that he's
- 21:27Speaker 1: playing Western Michigan.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Coup, coup. Koo, Koo, Koo. And then yesterday it was
- 21:34Speaker 2: even worse. The way he was just playing with his hair.
- 21:38Speaker 2: He was barely answering questions. He had zero energy. Hey,
- 21:42Speaker 2: that's how he plays.
- 21:43Speaker 1: You're right.
- 21:43Speaker 2: He's not the guy. I'm telling you, Oklahoma's going to
- 21:46Speaker 2: beat their ass.
- 21:47Speaker 1: He has not been good.
- 21:47Speaker 2: And this guy is not going to be the starter
- 21:49Speaker 2: after this week.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Why is he five and a half?
- 21:51Speaker 2: He looks completely checked out. And I think Kyle Whittingham
- 21:55Speaker 2: is going to have to purge. some of the mess
- 21:57Speaker 2: from Sharon Moore.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Hey, and he's doing that with the comments about quarterback.
- 22:00Speaker 1: One final thought. Does he get booed if he plays
- 22:02Speaker 1: bad at home? He should. I bet he will.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I mean, you're making how much money to play quarterback?
- 22:08Speaker 1: He'll be booed off the field in this game if
- 22:09Speaker 1: he's off.
- 22:10Speaker 2: That's not– I'm sorry, but if you want the money
- 22:12Speaker 2: and you have the right to the money, you're going
- 22:14Speaker 2: to get treated like a pro at times.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So he should absolutely get booed. And then the comments
- 22:18Speaker 1: this week. I mean, again, it's a weird spot. I'm
- 22:21Speaker 1: fascinated to see how this dude responds to it.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And here's what we know.
- 22:24Speaker 1: About Brent Venables.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Brent Venables will have something for Underwood in that offense.
- 22:29Speaker 2: He's going to throw some things at them defensively. That's
- 22:31Speaker 2: going to make life miserable for them. Yeah, and Michigan
- 22:34Speaker 2: looked terrible on offense in the week one.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And defense, yep.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Game number one, Hutton. It's another Big Ten versus SEC matchup.
- 22:41Speaker 2: It's pretty simple. It's number one Ohio State at Texas.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Texas a one-and-a-half point favorite. This game is at 7.30
- 22:47Speaker 2: Eastern time on ABC. So much has been said about
- 22:50Speaker 2: this game already. It's Arch Manning's redemption. He looked terrible.
- 22:54Speaker 2: A year ago, a lot of people looked bad against
- 22:56Speaker 2: Ohio State's defense, especially on the road. Arch did not
- 22:59Speaker 2: look good in his debut as a starting quarterback. He's
- 23:01Speaker 2: talked about wanting to look a lot better in this
- 23:03Speaker 2: football game. And Ohio State comes in as the number
- 23:06Speaker 2: one team in the country. Julian Sane versus Arch Manning, quarterback.
- 23:10Speaker 2: We know about all the future NFL draft picks on
- 23:12Speaker 2: both rosters. Let's put the ball down. Let's place a
- 23:16Speaker 2: ball on this one, Hutton. This is going to be
- 23:17Speaker 2: a fantastic football game.
- 23:19Speaker 1: The vibe I have here is that I want Arch
- 23:21Speaker 1: Manning to ball out I think Julian Zane's about to
- 23:24Speaker 1: become the talk of this game. On the road, this
- 23:28Speaker 1: is his moment. Because no one's mentioning his name. And
- 23:31Speaker 1: he's a baller. He's a really great quarterback. We haven't
- 23:34Speaker 1: talked much about him. And he's got the experience. It's
- 23:39Speaker 1: not like they played well against the Texas in that
- 23:41Speaker 1: opener last year. There's a lot of motivating factors for him, too, here.
- 23:46Speaker 2: So, Hutton, let's quickly run through the top ten. College
- 23:48Speaker 2: football games, week two. This is a great list. Ten
- 23:51Speaker 2: through one. Much better week than week one, absolutely. Game
- 23:54Speaker 2: number ten, Arizona at BYU. Number nine, the CyHawk trophy
- 23:58Speaker 2: on the line when Iowa State travels to Iowa. Eight,
- 24:02Speaker 2: it is SEC versus Big Ten. Mississippi State at Minnesota.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Game number seven, Arizona State at Texas A & M.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Six is Memphis at Boise State. Number five, Missouri at Kansas. Four...
- 24:14Speaker 2: is the first SEC game of the year, Alabama at Kentucky.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Game number three, it's SEC versus ACC when Tennessee travels
- 24:22Speaker 2: to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech. And then we
- 24:24Speaker 2: got a couple of big, big 10 versus SEC games.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Game number two, number 11, Oklahoma at Michigan. And of course,
- 24:33Speaker 2: game number one, we got Texas hosting Ohio State in
- 24:39Speaker 2: a big-time football game. That is your top 10 games
- 24:41Speaker 2: of the College Football Week.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Well done, Withrow. This is stacked. Can't wait, man. Let's
- 24:46Speaker 1: kick it off, shall we? It's also NFL kickoff. Week
- 24:51Speaker 1: one has arrived. And expectations galore. Expectations galore for coaches, quarterbacks,
- 25:01Speaker 1: and where the bar has been set versus where new
- 25:04Speaker 1: faces have to go. That's next. We've got the depth
- 25:07Speaker 1: chart of the hot seat, the pink slip. Playoffs are
- 25:10Speaker 1: pink slip is what we'll call it. That's straight ahead,
- 25:13Speaker 1: Hutton and Withrow. We are presented by Hard Rock Pet.
- 25:16Speaker 1: David Crockett, king of the wild frontier. David Crockett was,
- 25:20Speaker 1: you got the hunter, the storyteller, the patriot, backwoods legend.
- 25:25Speaker 1: The logo for Crockett Coffee, which was started by Clay Travis,
- 25:27Speaker 1: Buck Sexton, and Buck's brother, Mason, surfing on the backs
- 25:30Speaker 1: of crocodiles. That tells you everything about the attitude here. 100%
- 25:34Speaker 1: pure Arabica, high altitude beans, small batch roasted right here
- 25:38Speaker 1: in America, Tennessee, the heart of the country. It ships
- 25:41Speaker 1: fresh roasted. It's not sitting on a warehouse shelf for
- 25:43Speaker 1: six months. You've got the light blend, which is called
- 25:46Speaker 1: Sun Creek. Medium is Blue Ridge. King Mountain is the
- 25:50Speaker 1: dark roast. Organic mushroom blend. They've got it all. Whole bean, ground,
- 25:54Speaker 1: or cake cups. Chad, however you make it into the morning.
- 25:58Speaker 1: And it is the attitude era of coffee. And that's
- 26:00Speaker 1: what Crockett Coffee delivers. It's an attitude. It's a vibe.
- 26:03Speaker 1: It's a feeling. It's a taste of America. You can

- 26:22Speaker 1: veterans and first responders.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Good coffee, made in America, doing some good. It's simple. CrockettCoffee.com.
- 26:30Speaker 2: That's Crockett, C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T, coffee.com. I've Filled up my cup, Hutton,
- 26:37Speaker 2: and I'm feeling a little bit more and more like
- 26:38Speaker 2: a frontiersman as I take every sip.
- 26:40Speaker 1: All cheers for the water. Our cups are overfilled. It overflowed.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Good morning to everyone here at Hutton and Withrow, presented
- 26:48Speaker 1: by Hard Rock Bet. That's right.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Overflowed.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Overflowed. Hey, man, there's an overflow of some new faces
- 26:54Speaker 1: across the NFL for head coaches right now. But that
- 26:57Speaker 1: doesn't mean, like, everyone's safe because it's year one for
- 27:00Speaker 1: a majority or you've got a lot of solid coaches left.
- 27:04Speaker 1: across the league as well. No, no, no, no. There
- 27:06Speaker 1: are plenty of coaches that go into this year feeling
- 27:10Speaker 1: the heat. It's playoff or pink slip for some of them.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Here's your NFL coaches rankings for that. Chad, Shane Steichen, Indianapolis.
- 27:22Speaker 1: You've got the Colts with a lot of expectation here.
- 27:26Speaker 1: The way they started last year versus how they finished.
- 27:30Speaker 1: And I know Daniel Jones got hurt. But you have
- 27:34Speaker 1: a number one wideout that they deem worthy of a
- 27:36Speaker 1: top contract in Alec Pierce. Quarterback is back. Running back
- 27:41Speaker 1: who was paid recently wants to get paid again. Give
- 27:45Speaker 1: me Shane Steichen right here going into the season knowing
- 27:51Speaker 1: that it's time. It's time to put up or shut up.
- 27:55Speaker 1: for Indianapolis. I like them, though. I like them to
- 27:57Speaker 1: actually live up to some expectation. Plus, you have Jim
- 28:01Speaker 1: Irsay's daughter on the sideline taking notes all the time.
- 28:04Speaker 1: That can't feel great, even though last year you keep
- 28:09Speaker 1: your gig. What do you think about him being number one?
- 28:11Speaker 2: I like it, Hutton. Can you imagine Amy Adams-Strunk with
- 28:13Speaker 2: a headset on the sideline, standing right behind Robert Sala
- 28:17Speaker 2: the entire time, taking notes on his job performance? That's
- 28:20Speaker 2: just a really funny visual when I think about Carly Irsay.
- 28:24Speaker 2: the owner of the Colts, standing behind the coach the
- 28:27Speaker 2: whole time. I kind of like it. I don't normally
- 28:30Speaker 2: like owners that meddle or interfere. Typically, the best owner
- 28:33Speaker 2: is the one you very rarely hear from, and they're
- 28:36Speaker 2: off to the side and just do the job of
- 28:39Speaker 2: basically signing the checks and hiring good people. But for
- 28:42Speaker 2: whatever reason, it's charming when it comes to Mrs. Ursa
- 28:46Speaker 2: and what she's doing with the Colts organization. So, yes,
- 28:49Speaker 2: I buy it. that Shane Steichen should be high on
- 28:51Speaker 2: this list.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Maybe a surprise for many when they see this name
- 28:54Speaker 1: at number two. But it's not a rebuild in Buffalo.
- 28:56Speaker 1: The expectation is to win a Super Bowl. And if
- 28:59Speaker 1: it bottoms out for any reason, you made the wrong choice,
- 29:03Speaker 1: even though it's time they wanted to move on from
- 29:06Speaker 1: just going to the playoffs wasn't good enough. I'm saying
- 29:09Speaker 1: if it goes really south, watch out for just the
- 29:12Speaker 1: quick trigger with a new stadium. You've got the quarterback
- 29:15Speaker 1: in his prime. He's playing MVP level. The Bills are
- 29:19Speaker 1: in their window. They're in their window. It's time to
- 29:23Speaker 1: win in Buffalo. Zach Taylor, same thing with Cincinnati. Joe Burrow.
- 29:29Speaker 1: He's already been to a Super Bowl. Now he's healthy.
- 29:32Speaker 1: You've got the offense back together. There's just no more
- 29:36Speaker 1: excuses after a three-year playoff drought. The defensive issues that
- 29:39Speaker 1: they've had recently. And look, you've had certain things that
- 29:43Speaker 1: are like the goodwill that comes with going to a
- 29:46Speaker 1: Super Bowl. It's time for Zach Taylor to show the results,
- 29:51Speaker 1: much like some of these other coaches who have had
- 29:54Speaker 1: postseason success, but not the long-term consistency that Todd Bowles
- 30:00Speaker 1: is on that list as well, Chad, with just getting
- 30:03Speaker 1: to the postseason. That's not good enough. Winning that division,
- 30:09Speaker 1: it's not a good division. But I like Tampa, but
- 30:14Speaker 1: it's time to take the next step and be a
- 30:16Speaker 1: part of those teams that you expect to get back,
- 30:18Speaker 1: not just to the playoffs, but deep in the playoffs.
- 30:21Speaker 1: And Aaron Glenn, he's on the list just because he's
- 30:24Speaker 1: the coach of the New York Jets. And we know
- 30:26Speaker 1: how there's a quick trigger there. Plus, it was just
- 30:29Speaker 1: a brutal year one. And, you know, the matchup here
- 30:34Speaker 1: against the Titans in week one, it's a gift for
- 30:38Speaker 1: both teams, really, for either coach to get off to
- 30:41Speaker 1: a first start that they're not used to seeing.
- 30:43Speaker 2: And Todd Bowles is a number four, Hutton. I mean,
- 30:47Speaker 2: they didn't make the playoffs last year. We're going to
- 30:50Speaker 2: look back and study at some point the fact that
- 30:52Speaker 2: the Carolina Panthers, this is going to be a memory
- 30:55Speaker 2: hold for a long time. They won the NFC South
- 30:57Speaker 2: last year. And made the playoffs.
- 31:00Speaker 1: What they did with the second half meltdown there, they
- 31:03Speaker 1: started 6-2. They're like the Colts. And then they lost
- 31:05Speaker 1: like seven of nine games. And they kept opening the
- 31:10Speaker 1: door for the rest of the division with their divisional matchups.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And Baker Mayfield's trying to get a contract now. There's
- 31:16Speaker 1: a weird kind of vibe there. And Bowles has always
- 31:19Speaker 1: been the quiet leader there. He's respected, but is it
- 31:25Speaker 1: enough to get them over the hump? And they don't
- 31:28Speaker 1: have Mike Evans there for the first time in 11 years.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Is there a less talked-about defending division champion than the
- 31:36Speaker 2: Carolina Panthers? Going back to that division, why Todd Bowles
- 31:40Speaker 2: needs to win it?
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yes, there is. Jacksonville.
- 31:43Speaker 2: That's another great example. But both those teams, no one's
- 31:46Speaker 2: factoring them in to be any real contender. of any kind.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'm with you on Todd Bowles. I would argue you
- 31:52Speaker 2: may even should be higher on this list because of
- 31:56Speaker 2: the way they fell apart late last season and to
- 31:58Speaker 2: not win that division that's terrible and looks to be
- 32:01Speaker 2: pretty bad again this year. With Baker Mayfield playing the
- 32:05Speaker 2: way he has, they need to be the team representing
- 32:08Speaker 2: the NFC South in the playoffs.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Mayfield's first half, he was right there with Daniel Jones
- 32:13Speaker 1: for MVP. First half is the first half, though. And
- 32:18Speaker 1: I get it. It's not how you start until you finish,
- 32:20Speaker 1: whatever cliche you want to throw in there. The Bucs
- 32:23Speaker 1: and the Colts, they were hot right out of the chute.
- 32:27Speaker 1: They were scoring points. Their defense were playing well. And
- 32:30Speaker 1: then the collapse. Both coaches make my top five. We've
- 32:35Speaker 1: got some really good personalities, speaking of head coaches in
- 32:40Speaker 1: the SEC. One of them is Will Stein. We discussed
- 32:42Speaker 1: what he said going into the Bama matchup. That's straight
- 32:45Speaker 1: ahead here on How to Withdraw. It is Hutton to
- 32:47Speaker 1: Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bets. We are live at
- 32:51Speaker 1: sportandstate.com and other platforms, including the Daily Wire. Glad to
- 32:55Speaker 1: be there. Glad to be partnered with XXXY Athletics, founded
- 32:58Speaker 1: by Jennifer Say. And she's a former national champion gymnast.
- 33:03Speaker 1: She's a former Levi's brand president. She walked away from
- 33:06Speaker 1: a corporate job rather than say something that she didn't believe.
- 33:09Speaker 1: And she started XXXY Athletics instead. And the mission, in
- 33:12Speaker 1: their words, empower female athletes, take a stand for fair competition.
- 33:16Speaker 1: They call it the tee that launched a movement. This
- 33:19Speaker 1: is real athletic apparel. It's where you get the official
- 33:22Speaker 1: gear for Clay Travis' WNBA team that he would like
- 33:26Speaker 1: to start right here in Nashville, the Nashville Balls.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I saw our friend Lyndon Blake wearing the official Nashville
- 33:32Speaker 2: Balls merch.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Really?
- 33:34Speaker 2: And posing for a photo with it. She found the shirt.
- 33:36Speaker 2: She knows where to go. It's XXXY. That's where you
- 33:39Speaker 2: can get the apparel of future five-time WNBA champion Nashville Balls.
- 33:44Speaker 2: A budding dynasty. You can get the tees and trucker

- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to go to the website. I'm on
- 34:03Speaker 1: it right now, actually. I want to check it out
- 34:05Speaker 1: in the chat. You want an actual ball shirt?
- 34:08Speaker 2: You know what?
- 34:08Speaker 1: You want some balls on your... You know what?
- 34:11Speaker 2: I'm good. All set. Thank you, though. I appreciate that.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I recommend everyone else go get that shirt or that
- 34:20Speaker 2: trucker hat and wear it. But I'm all set.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I appreciate you. Very random here. I'm reminded that the
- 34:27Speaker 1: basketball rib, you can actually fit two basketballs at the
- 34:31Speaker 1: circumference of the rib. I don't know why I thought that.
- 34:34Speaker 1: I think Larry Bird taught me that in his How
- 34:37Speaker 1: to Play Basketball with Red Auerbach.
- 34:39Speaker 2: It is incredible that you can do that. And I
- 34:41Speaker 2: also think about Coach Norman Dale and Hoosiers. the great
- 34:44Speaker 2: Gene Hackman, who when they got to Butler Fieldhouse had
- 34:47Speaker 2: to measure, hey, look, it's 10 feet, you know, for
- 34:50Speaker 2: a free throw or 15 feet, 10 feet to the basket.
- 34:53Speaker 2: It shows like, oh, it's the same dimensions as our
- 34:55Speaker 2: gym back home in Hickory.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Oh, that's right.
- 34:57Speaker 2: All right, let's go play a basketball game and let's
- 34:59Speaker 2: upset South Bend Central. That's exactly what they did, Hutton.
- 35:03Speaker 2: They went out. Once they knew the dimensions were the same,
- 35:06Speaker 2: they went out and they played their game.
- 35:07Speaker 1: That's right. Yeah, that's right. Hey, will Kentucky play their game?
- 35:12Speaker 1: There's a, They're going to be sauced. I know that, Chad.
- 35:16Speaker 1: And you point out Will Stein encouraging fans to raise
- 35:20Speaker 1: all kinds of hell against Bama.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Yes. So Will Stein went on KSR and said that
- 35:27Speaker 2: he wants Kentucky fans to arrive early and scream obscenities.
- 35:31Speaker 2: at Alabama players, and suggested they sneak alcohol into Kroger Field.
- 35:37Speaker 2: That was Will Stein talking about it. I don't know
- 35:40Speaker 2: that his administration would love him stealing revenue from them.
- 35:45Speaker 2: They can buy alcohol now in the stadium also, so
- 35:48Speaker 2: maybe don't sneak the alcohol in. But everything else he said,
- 35:50Speaker 2: I'm totally fine with. In fact, I'm fine with him
- 35:53Speaker 2: telling people to sneak alcohol into the games.
- 35:56Speaker 1: What's different than any other week? That should be the standard, right?
- 36:00Speaker 1: That's been going on for years and years. That is
- 36:02Speaker 1: the fabric of college football. You get your free ticket,
- 36:06Speaker 1: and you're sneaking something into the game, right?
- 36:09Speaker 2: I've been to Kroger Field twice in my life.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It's K. Roger Field to me, but yes.
- 36:15Speaker 2: One was 2009, and I didn't even make it into
- 36:18Speaker 2: the stadium that night. I continued hanging out at the tailgate,
- 36:23Speaker 2: so there was no need to even deliver the booze
- 36:27Speaker 2: in the Kroger Field that night. Tennessee won that game
- 36:30Speaker 2: on a Montreal Hardesty touchdown. Lane Kiffin was the head coach,
- 36:34Speaker 2: and they won in overtime that night in Lexington. I
- 36:37Speaker 2: remember hanging out with a Jared Lorenzen-led tailgate at one point,
- 36:43Speaker 2: meeting Jared Lorenzen's sister and family. at a Kentucky tailgate.
- 36:47Speaker 2: They all had signs that said, party like it's 1984,
- 36:50Speaker 2: because that was the last time they had beaten Tennessee
- 36:52Speaker 2: at that point. This was 2009, keep in mind, at
- 36:55Speaker 2: that time. That was a fun day at Kroger Field.
- 36:58Speaker 2: And then I went back in 2017, and I saw
- 37:02Speaker 2: Kentucky beat Butch Jones right before he was fired. I
- 37:06Speaker 2: believe that's the game that got him fired. This was
- 37:09Speaker 2: a very close game. Was it a wide receiver quarterback?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Was that the one?
- 37:15Speaker 2: I don't remember, to be honest with you. Why do
- 37:17Speaker 2: I not remember? Because it was Kroger Field, and everyone
- 37:20Speaker 2: there was drunk, including me. That's how.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I just remember a game.
- 37:24Speaker 2: I know Tennessee lost that game.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Joey Kitt and I did the post-game show, the Tennessee
- 37:27Speaker 1: tailgate show at the time. I just remember a game
- 37:29Speaker 1: where Tennessee lost to a wide receiver quarterback.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Oh, no, I know what you're talking about.
- 37:36Speaker 1: That was 2011. Okay.
- 37:37Speaker 2: That was the beginning of the end for Derek Dooley.
- 37:40Speaker 2: We'll bring that up with Coach. The year before, he
- 37:44Speaker 2: beat Kentucky to get to a bowl, and it was
- 37:46Speaker 2: like a triumphant moment because it was a tough first year,
- 37:49Speaker 2: and he inherited the mess from Lane Kiffin. There was
- 37:51Speaker 2: a lot of optimism going into 2011. 2011 was a disaster.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Was it Woodson, I think, was the receiver-turned-quarterback in that game?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Well done, man.
- 38:02Speaker 1: That was bad.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Matt Roark. Thank you very much. Not Woodson. Matt Roark
- 38:08Speaker 2: was the quarterback that day. that beat Tennessee. I was
- 38:10Speaker 2: in Atlanta with my wife, Angie, just hanging out for
- 38:14Speaker 2: the weekend. I remember going to a sports bar and
- 38:16Speaker 2: watching that game on one of those tiny TVs they
- 38:19Speaker 2: put in the booth next to you and watching the
- 38:22Speaker 2: whole game that way. And it was very, very upsetting.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Uh, so Will Stein has an updated statement, uh, mentioning,
- 38:30Speaker 1: you know, the, the tried to take away inventory or whatever.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Here it is. Um, Let's see. I can't wait for Saturday.
- 38:36Speaker 1: We need our fans to bring the energy and make
- 38:38Speaker 1: a difference for our team. Come ready to have a
- 38:41Speaker 1: great time. Be loud and enjoy the day. Be respectful.
- 38:44Speaker 1: There are plenty of options to enjoy responsibly inside Kroger Field.
- 38:49Speaker 1: There it is. Bring the noise. Have some fun. See
- 38:51Speaker 1: you Saturday. Go Cats.
- 38:55Speaker 2: This is a preview of the statement I'll have to
- 38:57Speaker 2: read on Monday's show, saying that I would, in fact,
- 38:59Speaker 2: like one of the Nashville Balls shirts. And there are
- 39:02Speaker 2: plenty of great options at XXXY.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I would like balls on my chest.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll be getting a text from Clay Travis that says, oh,
- 39:09Speaker 2: Chad Withrow's got an amended statement. When Jonathan Hutton asked
- 39:11Speaker 2: him if he wants the Nashville Balls shirt, he, in fact,
- 39:14Speaker 2: does want one of those shirts. And there are plenty
- 39:16Speaker 2: of other great options as well.
- 39:18Speaker 1: When Jonathan Hutton asked Chad Withrow, would you like balls
- 39:20Speaker 1: on your chest? The answer was no.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Yeah. We want to rethink that, don't we? I think
- 39:26Speaker 2: it's time to rephrase that and say, yes, we do.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Oh, man. Hey, Titans and Vols. Let's discuss that, the
- 39:34Speaker 1: spreads coming up, and the magnitude of the weekend for both.
- 39:38Speaker 1: And we have Prop It Like It's Hot. That is
- 39:40Speaker 1: straight ahead here on Hot and With Row, presented by
- 39:42Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet. Hot and With Row. presented by Hard

- 40:20Speaker 1: hardrock.bet slash clay to download right now and join us here.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Where are you starting, Jeb?
- 40:29Speaker 2: So I may be an idiot and I may not
- 40:32Speaker 2: have the right tabs up when I do this, but
- 40:34Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure you can't bet props on college games
- 40:37Speaker 2: with players. That's fine.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Over-under is good.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Yeah, my profit like it hot. I'm going to do
- 40:42Speaker 2: something I don't normally do and go over-unders each week
- 40:45Speaker 2: on what I'm feeling. Hutton, I'm going with three Friday
- 40:49Speaker 2: night games, okay? Are you ready for this? Yes. I've
- 40:51Speaker 2: got the under in Richmond and NC State at 50.5.
- 40:55Speaker 2: From what I saw from NC State's offense... which was
- 40:58Speaker 2: as archaic and confusing as I've seen of an offense
- 41:01Speaker 2: against Virginia in their design. I feel pretty good about
- 41:04Speaker 2: that under in any game they play this year. And
- 41:07Speaker 2: Dave Doran, known more for his defense. Give me the
- 41:09Speaker 2: under with Richmond at NC State tonight. I'm also going
- 41:12Speaker 2: to take the under in Rutgers at Boston College. Why?
- 41:15Speaker 2: Because it's Rutgers and Boston College, and they're not going
- 41:18Speaker 2: to score a ton of points in this game. And
- 41:20Speaker 2: I'm going to take the over with Missouri at Kansas.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Lance Leipold, known for his creativity offensively with Kansas. I
- 41:28Speaker 2: think they're going to get some things done against Missouri,
- 41:30Speaker 2: and I think Missouri's offense with Coach Drink will continue
- 41:33Speaker 2: to fire right along, and I like the over in
- 41:35Speaker 2: that game tonight. So give me under Richmond NC State,
- 41:40Speaker 2: give me under Boston College Rutgers, and give me over
- 41:45Speaker 2: Kansas-Missouri Friday night college football, Hud.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Is Timmy B on one of these?
- 41:52Speaker 2: Timmy B's got to be Kansas. That game's on Fox tonight. Yep.
- 41:57Speaker 2: So I'm assuming Timmy B's got the call at Kansas, Missouri.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And I'm guessing the big game Beth is going to
- 42:01Speaker 1: be on USA.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Big game Beth. I think she might actually be on Lifetime.
- 42:09Speaker 2: I believe she's going to have a game this week
- 42:10Speaker 2: is what I'm hearing. And she's going to have that one.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Hey, you gave me a great idea here because I'm
- 42:16Speaker 1: on board with this for early in the NFL season.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Before I get to my problem, I thought take the
- 42:21Speaker 1: under totals in the first half of NFL games. It's
- 42:27Speaker 1: like around 24 or 25 points. Last night, that was
- 42:33Speaker 1: a no-brainer for me to go under with the travel.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Take the under in these games because routinely, year after year,
- 42:40Speaker 1: it's very consistent. NFL offenses, they sputter early on. There's turnovers,
- 42:45Speaker 1: there's sloppy play, there are penalties, points of emphasis by
- 42:48Speaker 1: the officiating. Chad, Kelly in Vegas is the one who
- 42:52Speaker 1: was really harping on this a couple years ago. She
- 42:54Speaker 1: went on this long with us where we were fading.
- 43:00Speaker 1: We were fading. She was winning.
- 43:03Speaker 2: We were getting faded and people were being very successful
- 43:06Speaker 2: fading us. So we finally went with Kelly and we
- 43:09Speaker 2: started winning.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. My profit like it's hot. Give me Jamar
- 43:15Speaker 1: Chase anytime touchdown. in the matchup against the Buccaneers, Cincinnati
- 43:19Speaker 1: starting at home, Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, anytime touchdown. I'm
- 43:24Speaker 1: taking the Jets to win outright against the Titans.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Absolutely. That's happening. Geno Smith's coming in looking like Geno
- 43:32Speaker 1: Smith from a few years back. And the over 31
- 43:36Speaker 1: and a half rushing yards for Josh Allen against Houston.
- 43:42Speaker 1: He's going to be facing a pass rush that sacked
- 43:45Speaker 1: him eight times, I think. Last year. Seven or eight times.
- 43:48Speaker 1: He's going to be running around. And I'm taking the
- 43:51Speaker 1: over where he's going to escape the pocket. He's going
- 43:54Speaker 1: to do some things in that game where he's going
- 43:57Speaker 1: to have a good rushing performance as well. But the
- 44:00Speaker 1: prop is any type of touchdown, Jamar Chase. Just every
- 44:03Speaker 1: year when Burrow's healthy early in the season, generally they've
- 44:09Speaker 1: been very good in the scripted plays coming out to
- 44:11Speaker 1: start game. Jamar Chase gets going early. They get him
- 44:14Speaker 1: in rhythm. And I have him score the touchdown. Let's
- 44:17Speaker 1: just say first play of the game. I wish we
- 44:18Speaker 1: could bet on that, too. First play of the game, Chet.
- 44:22Speaker 1: You can do first touchdown. You can also say first
- 44:25Speaker 1: touchdown and get a big touchdown. So you should bet
- 44:28Speaker 1: that for Jamar James. Go big on that. Who was
- 44:32Speaker 1: your first overall pick in fantasy? Mine was Christian McCaffrey.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson. Yeah.
- 44:38Speaker 2: That was mine. Derrick Henry was number two.
- 44:40Speaker 1: So you should, any time touchdown for Justin Jefferson would
- 44:43Speaker 1: be great for you. That'd be a good one.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Hey, Hutton, I want to take some credit here because
- 44:47Speaker 2: I searched Big Game Beth in Google AI mode.
- 44:50Speaker 1: No way.
- 44:51Speaker 2: And it says, just under Big Game, you just searched
- 44:54Speaker 2: Big Game Beth. I searched Big Game Beth game of
- 44:57Speaker 2: the week. And it says, Big Game Beth usually points
- 45:01Speaker 2: to clutch cricket star Beth Mooney, local high school football
- 45:05Speaker 2: coverage for the Beth Center Bulldogs, or broadcaster Beth Mullins.
- 45:10Speaker 1: There it is.
- 45:11Speaker 2: We did it, Hutton. We have put Big Game Beth
- 45:14Speaker 2: into the lexicon. What is Big Game Beth for first-time viewers,
- 45:17Speaker 2: if you're watching on Daily Wire right now? Big Game
- 45:20Speaker 2: Beth is what we describe as Beth Mullins, the sound
- 45:24Speaker 2: of her voice at 11 a.m. on a Saturday morning
- 45:27Speaker 2: on ESPN back in the day, opening and welcoming you
- 45:30Speaker 2: to Northwestern, hosting Michigan State in the most dreary, awful
- 45:35Speaker 2: Big Ten slugfest ever.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Do the voice.
- 45:38Speaker 2: You can imagine.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Do the voice.
- 45:39Speaker 2: Oh, look alive, and it's the first and ten for
- 45:43Speaker 2: the Bulldogs. That's the voice of Big Game Beth.
- 45:47Speaker 1: You know it.
- 45:48Speaker 2: You love it. I was thrilled when I went to
- 45:50Speaker 2: a Tennessee Lady Vols softball game against Nebraska. I looked
- 45:54Speaker 2: up in the broadcast booth, and I saw none other
- 45:57Speaker 2: than Big Game Beth Mullins in that booth. And I said, Hutton,
- 45:59Speaker 2: I've arrived. I've made it to a big game. I
- 46:02Speaker 2: have no idea where she's broadcasting right now. We'll do
- 46:04Speaker 2: the research and find out, but we will start to
- 46:06Speaker 2: have a big game, big game Beth game of the week.
- 46:09Speaker 2: And we put it out there into AI hub.
- 46:12Speaker 1: It's fantastic. You were thrilled that big game Beth was
- 46:14Speaker 1: there because, because you were there and you didn't have
- 46:18Speaker 1: to watch or listen to the broadcast. That's why you
- 46:20Speaker 1: were thrilled.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Correct. In 2021, in fact, Hutton, we were at the
- 46:24Speaker 2: Alabama LSU game in Tuscaloosa. And you'll remember this. I
- 46:28Speaker 2: turn on my phone. We're in a suite watching the game.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Watching Alabama get penalties. Yeah, watching Alabama get penalties and
- 46:34Speaker 2: Peter Kern going nuts as Hutton points out the flag
- 46:37Speaker 2: after a big play. And I'm looking on my phone
- 46:39Speaker 2: to watch Tennessee-Kentucky at night. I'm sure Jacob Lutz was
- 46:42Speaker 2: at this game also. Tennessee wins it against Will Levis
- 46:45Speaker 2: in Kentucky. And on the call that night was big
- 46:48Speaker 2: game Beth Moens. I believe Dusty Dvoracek was the color
- 46:52Speaker 2: commentator that night, if I'm remembering correctly. But the amount
- 46:55Speaker 2: of complaints from both Tennessee and Kentucky fans about tuning
- 46:59Speaker 2: into a night game on the SEC and it was
- 47:01Speaker 2: the sound of big game Beth is just hilarious. Never
- 47:04Speaker 2: gets old to me. So big game Beth. We put
- 47:06Speaker 2: it out there. That's her nickname. It will live forever.
- 47:10Speaker 2: God bless Beth Moens. God bless football.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Football's here, man. You have convinced me, and it's not
- 47:18Speaker 1: the pressure here, you've convinced me that Tennessee is better
- 47:22Speaker 1: right now than they've been in a long, long time roster-wise.
- 47:26Speaker 1: They're winning this game against Georgia Tech. Freshman quarterback or not,
- 47:30Speaker 1: they're winning this game against Georgia Tech. The Titans are
- 47:33Speaker 1: losing this game against the Jets. They are promoting... random
- 47:38Speaker 1: things that they're promoting their brand, their, their, their, their
- 47:42Speaker 1: new brand and what went into the Titans blue and
- 47:46Speaker 1: that the fans wanted this big change, but they have no,
- 47:50Speaker 1: no evidence to show anything of these surveys or fan polls.
- 47:55Speaker 1: And they're, they're discussing the, the, you know, the final
- 47:58Speaker 1: season at Nissan stadium instead of their, their star quarterback
- 48:01Speaker 1: and wide receiver and two first round draft picks, new coach.
- 48:05Speaker 1: This just feels like the Jets coming in, and bad
- 48:07Speaker 1: coaches and bad teams, when they have an offseason to prepare,
- 48:12Speaker 1: they play well. Just ask Ken Wisenhunt with the Tennessee Titans.
- 48:18Speaker 1: He won week one every year. He was only here
- 48:20Speaker 1: for two years, a year and a half. But point being,
- 48:22Speaker 1: you can win on the road in week one and
- 48:24Speaker 1: surprise some people and be a really bad team.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I just– not only the sideshow with what the
- 48:32Speaker 2: team's doing that's not focused on football– Cam Ward's dad
- 48:35Speaker 2: is DMing people, going off on them. He's got publicists
- 48:40Speaker 2: and agents getting mad at people criticizing him. I don't
- 48:45Speaker 2: like what I'm seeing. I don't have a good feeling.
- 48:47Speaker 2: We talked about best vibes and worst vibes in college football.
- 48:50Speaker 2: The vibes around the Titans team are incredibly bad heading
- 48:53Speaker 2: into the season, and it's going to be a half-empty
- 48:56Speaker 2: stadium to open the season, and it's going to look bad.
- 49:00Speaker 2: It's going to sound bad. And the Titans will likely
- 49:03Speaker 2: play bad. That said, I mean, the Jets should be
- 49:06Speaker 2: tanking for the number one overall pick. Like, you've got
- 49:09Speaker 2: to win this game if you're the Titans. I think
- 49:11Speaker 2: they find a way to get it done.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Stillman brought this up, and he may not be wrong.
- 49:15Speaker 1: He goes, there's a reason why the Jets and the
- 49:16Speaker 1: Giants are playing the Titans in the month of September,
- 49:19Speaker 1: both of them. He's like, the NFL wants the New
- 49:21Speaker 1: York teams to get off to a nice start. I
- 49:24Speaker 1: was like, that's not a bad theory on this.
- 49:28Speaker 2: It's a fair point. I'm looking at my TV screen
- 49:30Speaker 2: over here, and I'm seeing footage of George W. Bush
- 49:32Speaker 2: throwing out that first pitch at the World Series and
- 49:35Speaker 2: throwing the strike, and it's a reminder that we want
- 49:37Speaker 2: to thank everybody who serves this country, all the first responders.
- 49:42Speaker 2: 25th anniversary of 9-11 is a good time to reflect
- 49:45Speaker 2: and be thankful for everything that we have because of
- 49:48Speaker 2: what the few and the brave have given to us
- 49:52Speaker 2: over the years. So thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Nick is here. He served our country, and he
- 49:56Speaker 1: signed up. for the Army because of 9-11. Nick Moses,
- 50:05Speaker 1: thank you for your sacrifice and to his family. NickMoses.org
- 50:11Speaker 1: to learn his story. Chad, let's enjoy the college football weekend.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Let's have a weekend. Everybody, thank you for joining us
- 50:18Speaker 1: this week. Great partnership with The Daily Wire and join
